DDT Dump Site Off Coast Of Southern California Even Bigger Than Feared

"Of course. An itch the dumping of those DDT barrels and they found them dumped in the Ocean office, Southern California. But it wasn't just a few barrels. 25,000 barrels. An estimated 350. 700 tons of toxic DDT. This was a long for gotten waste site. Dating back to World War two. I think you were the one Brett, who pointed out that they were so concerned with submerging them that they actually punctured holes in these huge metal barrels. Didn't you point that out? I think you pointed that out at the time when we first did this story, But here's the reason we're doing it again. In subsequent Investigations with these sonar vessels. They found so much more than they originally found. They found these barrels covering an area the size of San Francisco. Oh, gosh. It is overwhelming. They said We were going to count it. But it would be like counting stars in the Milky Way galaxy. There's so many of them. They used these underwater drones with sonar technology to troll 36,000 acres of seabed. It's down between Catalina and L. A And this is already an area that was measuring high for DDT in the water and the seals there have this rare cancer and they're getting it in in this epidemic numbers. Shipping logs dating back through the century show that Southern California's

"O Ai most People think that you know, we go on the air. Five. Get off the air at nine. Which is true, but think that that's the extent of it. Now we're here in the three o'clock hour. We get off at nine, but we kind of well except for t. Who's out the door at 901. You know, we work on a little bit longer, but we usually don't eat until after nine o'clock we'd kind of like take turns. When we're all three here, going out to get picked, you know, take out And the day is charity Day. Right? So I just wanted, you know, to go ahead and get on the list now and let you know I'd like a tuna sandwich from subway. But is it tuna? I I will You decide. Lab test commissioned by The New York Times. Say they failed to identify any tuna D n a in a series of subway tuna sandwiches. Reporter acquired more than five FT worth of subway tuna sandwiches from three Los Angeles storefronts, then engaged a specialist fish testing lab. Researchers were unable to pinpoint a species. Spokesman for The New York Times, said. There's two conclusions one is that it's so heavily process that whatever they could pull out of DNA couldn't make an identification. Or We got some, and there's just nothing there. That's tuna. You might remember back in February Inside Edition ran a similar test on samples from New York and Florida based lab did confirm the presence of tuna. Seafood experts have suggested that subway may not be to blame if It's tuna is, in fact, not tuna. According to the president of Catalina Offshore Products, quote. I don't think a sandwich place would intentionally miss label. They're buying a can of tuna that says tuna. And if there's any fraud in this case, it happened at the cannery. So there you go. It's up to your taste would taste buds to decide. What's your favorite thing at subway? Nothing. Nothing at all. No, I like the spicy Italian myself. I'm real partial to the chocolate chip cookies. They make some bad ass chocolate chip cookies, man at subway, and the last time I drove through subway, all I ordered Was Two cookies. Which they let me know. It was cheaper If I bought three, which I said Yeah, but my doctor won't let me eat three. So give me six. Yeah, I can eat too. And they gave them to me for free. Wow, because it was all I was. "Marine scientists have found what they believe to be a zoo, many as 25,000 barrels that possibly contain DDT dumped off the southern California coast near Catalina Island, where a massive underwater toxic waste site dating back to World War two has long been suspected. The barrel like images were captured by researchers who mapped more than 36,000 acres of sea floor. "You should not treat any opinion expressed by pomp as a specific inducement to make a particular investment or follow a particular strategy but only as an expression of his opinion. This podcast is for informational purposes. Only all right guys bang bang. Kelly me here with me for doing this. Yes thanks for having me lessons right into your background. You are running for congress but he says the private sector and the public sectors kind of walk us through your career up free decide a run carlos. Yeah and also. I'll walk you through just kind of my background. So i was born raised outside of chicago on a really small town. My family came here from guatemala. My mother's side and my father built his own business. He came from depression era household in chicago and they really instilled the values of hard work and liberty and free enterprise especially coming from a different country where you come to the united states in the land of opportunity and so a big part of my platform is preserving those values of the ones. I was raised upon but also the values that really make the united states to the greatest country in the world. And and so. I'm really excited now. Running again illinois sixteenth district i in illinois fourteen previously in twenty twenty But to really make change. And i think people of all backgrounds now are starting to step up a lot of people in the private sector starting to step up because they see what's going on in this country so i worked in the private sector. I was appointed by president trump to the us department of commerce and really saw first hand. How the pro growth policies from the trump administration were really impacting people in the district. Meanwhile you see kind of the far left rising. Afc's this very socialist communist marxist ideology coming out from from women especially the squad these younger voices infiltrating the millennial community. And i took her a hard luck inside will who's fighting for our values who is telling these stories of what it's like to to have in a different country in in what opportunities are here. Who's telling the story from the business owner perspective or from the person benefiting from the free enterprise perspective we need new faces new perspective so And now i'm running again and it's been an amazing experience Thus far but it's a hard job running for congress for certain s- let's talk about I think you know what has become a pretty interesting dynamic rate if you look at Understood social media he understood how to deliver slava platforms to get a message out. Speak directly to the people cut out the middleman and regardless of what people think about his specific policies. The way that he communicated was very effective in Obviously quenching him into the presidency and that he did. He was acting as president. We've now seen other people realize the power doing that. So afc a number of people so shows that it's not so much one side of the aisle. It's more just a communication tactic. It is is quite effective on the other side of that. I'll sort of democratic viewpoint. It seems like the message is very much geared toward telling me what they want. Hugh right you're going to get free money. You're going to get support. You're gonna get all these things it sounds like you and the republican side is much more around a free enterprise in coming to save you. The you're gonna have to do this stuff yourself and so do you think that either sides Principles or perspective really matters as much as the communication tactic or does it know. Everyone's going to use these communication tactics therefore the the principles perspectives. That's will prevail because there will be a difference in the communication tactics four. That's an awesome question in my theory on. This is number one for a long time. If republicans had the right messengers. We would be winning right now for a long time in this also goes for both sides of the aisle. Frankly is that you kind of have these buttoned up people that they go to washington. They don't really communicate with their constituents. You don't really know what's going on And i and i think about all really broke with the digital era and the age and i call it the age of authenticity or you have more people interested in reality. Tv you have access to People as human beings in in a broader way that we just never did before based on the digital communication right. How come a ceo of a major fortune. Five hundred company or tech company can get on zoom meeting and talked to thousands of people all across the entire world in real time talking about the values of the company or what's going on in updating the company. But how come. Our elected officials aren't doing that there. There is a gap in transparency. Especially as you kind of rotate out of a lot of our members of congress are significantly. Older i don't know the average age of people currently in congress. But it's it's not millennials. And so when you look at kind of the the difference between the republican party and and the the democratic socialist Currently is our message still wins on the republican side but we need to have better messengers and president trump was frankly one of the first people to really break that mold. He broke that kind of invisible a wall between the majority of the population. And then this ivory tower in government basically not only in the way he communicated but just being able to understand his his base and what was incredible about it is that He was able to communicate to so many people in the bible belt in the in the flyover cities and fire of our country and Also people of all different walks of life i mean. We made massive gains in in different areas than demographics in different socioeconomic levels not only because of his policies. Like you were mentioning before but but like you said the communication barrier and so you look at the socialists and democrats now. Afc using kind of these mediums of video and twitter. I mean she's got a massive following. Why is that. Because she's communicating to an audience and especially millennials to a base. Her ideas are awful but she's able to really capture that so on our side. We need better communicators. That are really hammering down. Message of free enterprise personal responsibility and just going back and defending the values of our country and the us constitute shed. Yeah and so. I think that most people who watch this podcast for retirement but most people. I think that an in terms of i frankly think like the strings of all sides of the political spectrum are five missing the point right and so back to. This is kind of like the non hortus topics though. That is passing. That i actually. Everyone agreed whether it's your more centrist. Or you're on the extreme ends turbans right where people literally say wait. A second. can't shoot somebody able to regardless of their political leanings Enter politics at twelve thirty and literally do it until they. But that seems pretty crazy especially when you think about innovation the ability to understand -nology pollution their fresh ideas like taco term limits. What is the right solution. Sugar returns limits. How about those being in hers Is should be grandfathered. Did be things you could do. Maybe get around limits You're really good donor of of the people that you're elected upper. do you think about. Yeah and that's also a great question. You know here in illinois especially i think coming from a deep.

Goya In Three Boycotts

"Goya is a giant in the united states. Food industry today. The company is worth over one billion dollars and employs over four thousand people in dozens of factories throughout the country and abroad. It's also a staple in latino homes across the us. Pino is a huge part of goya's consumer base after goya foods. Ceo robert hunan away spoke in the white house rose garden last summer. Producer governor elevator be realized. She had a lot of questions about the brand receiving. All of this attention gabardine started digging into goya itself. The family behind the brand and some of the past controversies that the company has weathered through governors reporting. She discovered a common theme repeating itself over the years. Something bigger than any single news. Headline goya is more than pantry. Staples and spices to its customers. Specifically it's latino customers for many that the united latina's goya is like a badge of identity. So that's a pretty tall order for a company a gabby and welcome to the show. Hi maria so tell us what happened that you were like I need to spend some more time thinking about goya food products and that this led you down a rabbit hole so yeah before the boycott i had no idea who the union-wide family was. I grew up with goya beans but didn't know or never really thought about how. This company became a symbol of latino identity in the us. Clearly it wasn't about how much people love their beans adobo. It was something much deeper than that. Goya evoke emotions for many latinos and in researching goya. I found three separate boycotts spanning decades. Were goya's carefully crafted. Image as a symbol of latino identity was thrown into question. One in miami. One in new york and puerto rico and the other one from the summer and together. They helped not so rosy story about this powerful company. But before i jump in. It's important to understand. The history of the brand in how the unanimous family used their immigrant background to craft their business image. Okay so we know that. Goya was founded in the nineteen thirties. By on prudence your own anway and his wife catalina and don't pull. The nco was actually a merchant from spain right. He arrived in puerto rico from spain and nineteen o two then moved to the united states and started a small business in new york city importing goods from spain. That business eventually became goya foods rubber yunan way goya's currency. Eeo often tells his grandfather's story he mistakes from home and he. He had an idea that other immigrants also mistake from home done. Prudencio started importing goods like olive oil and other hand fish products to his shop on the lower east side serving the spanish emigrant community but then ends up being really Latino brand for the entire population. I mean it grows and this is their primary. Customers are latinos and latinas. So tell us the story of how don't do the answer becomes so successful in expanding this business after world war two. Us factory owners took advantage of the depression in puerto rico to outsource cheap labor from the island and in the span of just one year the puerto rican population in new york city nearly quadrupled from thirteen thousand to over fifty thousand people. I spoke with puerto rican food historian professor crews miguel ortiz quadra. About how you non capitalized on this. Migration wave to grow his business. The political and economical racial love voting Rico in the nineteen forties. These open a huge door Success of goya foods huntington bank element with Habits was historic. Make no mistake immigrant himself or not. I know that this big i migrated would throw with. Its foot my maurice food memories. I mean that's a great concept right this notion of you know eating rice and beans as a kid or or you know making fresh tamales over the holidays with your family. I mean there is this thing memories and we all have them yeah. It's this idea. That food is personal. Professor ortiz quadra often refers to this term food or palate memories. I coined the term in his book eating puerto rico and he uses this concept to describe the intimate bond with food formed by cultural and historical practices. So this idea that the food we eat reflects our values choices and culture and its central and understanding. Goya's rise so more. Puerto ricans moved into new york city and there was the experience of racism and xenophobia. That a lot of outside communities experience puerto ricans are not immigrants right because they're just moving from one part of the united states to another part of the united states but as it was in new york city that wasn't welcoming to many puerto ricans that increases the need for food to be a place where you find solace and comfort right exactly for this. Oh so important. If can't trace you back to your homeland the To the homeland and to the foot try and so forth in the diaspora done prudencio. Continue to build goya. The city's growing emigrant community from latin america. He knew that capitalizing on food memories was a powerful business strategy.

Apple Releases Revised Version of iOS 14.2 for iPhone 12

"Let's begin with apple. News apple release fourteen point two but he was a interesting released of this on the past but he was specifically for the iphone. Twelve meany and fixing text messages on a couple of other box so they have done these days and i think part of the reason they have done. This is to avoid leaking This is not the first time they needed it. But pay if you got a an iphone twelve meaning make sure that you update to the the last of the reid version of this Our next one is About talking about features of Big mac os or and you know now that they've been using it more Even dad is still is not my main machine. I'm continue impress of how well certain things work. In comparison to catalina again. I'm mike book is not mike main driver. My main drivers pat but there is still things that i do in in the macbook. An ibm impressed. How my old. I have an old mike. Macaire two thousand thirteen because there is no reason to upgraded but dad now having the same messages between the ipad and macbook. Dad has been nice because it was something that you know a lot of times you get down and get a message from just go. Pick another device because he was so annoying how that works so there are things like that that has worked incredibly well Interestingly enough i was really looking forward for the ipods switching between the devices and dot has turned to be a nightmare it may be. Because i have too many of them. I don't know but a lot of times. I am on a coal on the and then i moved my head or change device on suddenly i lose the call that has been annoying their ways to fix it you can tell them basically disable they switching but it was something that i really was looking forward. The romantic idea of yes and grabbed the other device and change out the medically am. I really didn't thought about yet. But what what when you're using multiple devices in the same call That do not work as well as i planning my mind our next Item is creek for the regency talking about running native window on the aim. One and on the new max chipset then us. On the reports we have seen has meaning credible On this chipset and it makes sense. I mean they integrate everything they made it in a really nice way and even the reports we have seen on his speech on on the mac sunday comparisons between the old macbooks macbook pro with the new ones are really incredible on so many ways so there is a lot of people wondering can i put windows in this thing and so far you cannot. I was reading over the weekend. Somebody ready port i version of it nut deficiency microsoft version but as for the for the rugged said it's up to microsoft and base it on what we have seen on the news lately about other companies looking to get into this arm. I may see us a possibility that they really jump into this one. I'm i'm skeptical. I think that you know eventually you know someone will make microsoft windows at least version. Ten work on the m one chips The reality though is that apple is I even heard linus torvalds the progenitor of the olympics colonel which we all know is running a people say lennox. But it's really the open source operates on top of that and the you know the whole notion of the m one chips is that apple is moving into this more island unto itself architecture creating a a privacy wall around their entire ecosystem and they're only letting in those who they want to let in and So i'm really curious whether or not this is really there Shot across the bow to all suffer developers. You'll all you know folks. Generally that they're going to be controlling this. And if you wanna play with them you've got to play by their rules and they do it now. 'cause they're making the chip they're making you know they're making everything So yeah. I'm i'm not particularly interested in running windows on a mac anyway but i think that you know seeing folks kind of bend the rules and making it work will be interesting to watch.

New Features of Safari 14

"I thought it'd be worth while to kind of dig in because safari got a lot of changes this year. It did work to now version fourteen of safari which is something that when we wrote it out like. Oh i feel really old. I remember once the fire was brand new version fourteen. It has a lot of changes in it and what it's cool like. We said earlier apples good about supporting older. Oh in terms of software update safari is is one of those examples it will run On mohave and catalina in fact came out mid september. So you probably already been using safai fourteen for a little while. But i thought we could talk through some of the features under the hood. There's some changes of flashes. Gone of course get better performance and things like javascript. Page loading apple always talents. That know safari. Superfast senate is. When's the last time you ran flash and safari though. It's been a long long time. I'm guessing me like six years. I mean flashes. Basically gone everywhere. Yeah yeah the The thing i'm most excited about really is this idea of them. Bringing in plug ins. You know an more robust plug in architecture. Yes so the the new extensions. Api we talked about this where a company or developer has an extension available to them. They've already written for chrome or firefox or something else they can bring that in through ex code. Gotta go in the mac app store. There's a new section in the maps or now for these things but they can pour these faraway easier than they used to be able to before this developing is a far extension was like a one off the way apple did it was an unusual than it used the the tool. So that's a ra- standardized or on chrome and firefox cts From a user perspective though because the far east of Based on privacy is that you can really control. The access is extensions. Have to your data so you can allow it on specific sites or all sites. You can say you only have access to this for one day. A lots of of really nice settings to limit what these things can do because a lot of these extensions work by seeing what you're doing in your browser and of course that does have privacy implications yet it gives you that great Ecosystem plug ins without the wild west mentality of like. What did this just due to my computer. 'cause and some other browsers you really don't know The so good on that. I haven't really seen the payoff on that yet. Though i mean there are several apps that i'm or plug ins and following. That aren't there yet. But i feel like that's only a question of time. Now yeah i think so. I think it will take a while. I think those will be more successful than apple's past extension programs. But i don't think we're ever going to see the wide range of things that see in something like chrome i think a lot developers won't bother with safari but for those who do. It'll be a lot less work for them.

Windows 10 Update

"Talking about Windows 10. And every six months, Microsoft has an update. The Spring update was 20 0 for And the new one, which isn't officially out yet will be called. Thank goodness they didn't want to call it 2009 because that was going to really confuse people. So they're calling it 20 H two for the second half of 2020. And in the spring, they will be 21 H one and 22 h. 21 H two and all of that stuff. So you've been using your obviously and what Microsoft calls the Windows insider program, which gives people early access to this country and last I've been a reading 10 acts may be out sooner. I'm not in the insider right yet, but it may be well, but you must be an insider if you got it. H to write. I'm not on not on the 10 X I just Oh, so you're using 10 X as well. No, no, no, no. Yeah, I'm thinking about it. Ah, cloning a few as he drives and then so this would not be recommended for somebody who wasn't Ah, an expert like Michael. But Microsoft is releasing a new version of Windows 10 They called 10 X, which is really a TTE leased. From my point of view, much modernized. We don't know a whole lot about it. But the idea is it's more secure because everything is in a sandbox. They're going to start to deprecate The old wind 32 subsystem, which they've kept around for compatibility, But you know, honestly, is the source of a lot of security problems. That's very six more but all the way apples actually done that already with Catalina, they stopped working with 32 bit APS. Yeah, I got some stuff going on 30 too. Well, that's the problem and one thing. Microsoft's always has a high priorities, maintaining compatibility with old stuff. But that comes to the price. It's one of the reasons I think we're in Windows a little Rocky, So I'm excited about Windows 10 X, Because it's Microsoft. We hope kind of rethinking everything to make a more stable, more secure. Windows and those air. Equally important goals. Windows 10 has become a nightmare. Yeah, Yeah, we'll see. We'll see how that goes.

A New Album Turns The Sound Of Endangered Birds Into Electronic Music

"An international collective of electronic deejays and composers is taking their beats out of the dance club, and into jungles and forests. It's all to help save nature's greatest singers. Birds Catalina Maria. Johnson has the story of a guide to the Birdsong Project Robin. Perkins is a thirty three road DJ composer producer originally from glass of England. He goes by the name A. Spanish for the. Perkins produced his first project in Twenty fifteen a guy to the Birdsong of South America. The whole project was born of this idea of taking the songs of endangered birds and challenging musicians to make a piece of music from and so trying to marry these worlds of activism, all conservation Goodson and joining us. Perkins invited artists from each of the endangered or threatened birds homelands to build their own solves around the Birdsong. The beautiful thing about electronic music is that it opens up this whole toolbox of things that you can vies do right so you can take a sample of a bird song and do five million things to it. You can turn into an instrument itself. You can reverse it. You can have effects. You can sample. Ed Perkins has just finished the second project. A guy to the Birdsong of Mexico Central, America and the Caribbean. One of the musicians who responded to his call is Nicaraguan Sonic artist that on behavioral. She chose the Turquoise Proud Maat Maat or Guatemala. rankle to me was a very clear choice as a child I would see this bird freely flying around and meeting his partner, the travel in pairs most of the time in my backyard for sunsets. Beautiful mystical moment every day. What about wrangle is threatened by loss of habitat primarily due to deforestation, it's also Nicaragua's national bird. This bird represents a lot of symbolic in my area of the world's, because it represents freedom and these Central American countries have been striving for political social economic freedom for a long time. The idea of freedom was also part of the impetus for Al Ovando choice. Ovando is a member of the renowned Gutty for collective, that also includes musicians from what the my love on us and Nicaragua for the collective's contribution to the album Ovando chose the endangered black cat. Like the guava uncle, the black cat birds freedom is threatened by loss of habitat. Obando feels his people have a special kinship with the catbird and struggle for survival, like you've just imagining US coming all the way from the coast of West Africa into the Caribbean, ending up in believes that still continuing the struggle and trying to be part of what the world is today. Ovando also happens to be a devoted burger. He even convinced the. The band to add a technical writer to its contracts when the musicians perform at festivals, so we know what we should just add it on and just put just for fun. You know some of us in the collective avid burgers, and if it here's anybody at the festival. Who'd like to burning? We would love to go birding with them married. They would know some places some hot spots. In Oh, we could check out some birds. As with the first scalpels, all of the profits from the new release will support organizations in each region. One of them is birds, Caribbean. It's executive director Lisa. Sorenson explains how the recording not only help her efforts, but may also yield extended benefits helping to develop sites in the Caribbean that need infrastructure for example, there might be a beautiful place to go see birds, but there's no trail. There's no interpretive sign edge there to tell you about what you're seeing. So we're envisioning funding from this project will help us advance building the supply and building the demand for sustainable burden nature tourism. That's project founder. Robin Perkins wish to yeah. Hopefully people will come away from the album. Feeling inspired and feeling the need to listen against the Birdsong around them to do something to protect the natural spaces that we need to survive proceeds from a guide to the Birdsong of Mexico Central America, and the Caribbean will also benefit nonprofits in Costa Rica and Mexico.

"Hello Robin Rob. Time of Day and rob. I know Oh, my gosh, so I mean just to let our people know right there. We have tired Rob Tired Rob Welsh and we have vibrant rob greenlee. Ready to go ready to go, so maybe there could be a balance between all of that stuff, so thank you for coming on the show Liam. Husband struck. We're me. That's right and we're GONNA. Be Talking about the podcast. The podcast academy later on in the show, which is why we have you here, but we're also have all kinds of really fun things to to touch base on starting with some like some podcasting news and rumors, so you rob greenlee just shared with us something that neither Robin knew so what's going on with level later? We'll get an update. To their Libya leading software. This is amazing it's. It's one of the simplest tools to to use with. Your way files level now, but this is a really old tool. It was created by Doug K. back in two thousand five I believe and It got an update to support the latest version of. The MAC os so that's exciting. It's now for Catalina. Yea, thank you, thank you doubt you. So. I'm sure you can get just by going to later on. That's just how it sounds L.. E. V. E., L., A. T., O., R.! I believe something like that Sharon. Now all have links in the show notes there and I have to say I. Use this to away. He way back in the day because I heard it from podcast four one one. One and for those of you guys that don't know what it actually means it. Is it really Kinda does? What phonic does but in need of an easier way. It's this little tiny tool. You just drag the stuff. Stick it in it, and it spits it out nicely. Love elated afterwards, which is It just allows loudness novels of your files to talk. Out Yeah. And it's still early. It's free. That's amazing. Oh my God, so am also now into some other news. What's going on with Sirius? Xm. Acquired simple cast show so Sirius Xm Pandora Edge results required, simple cast since the last episode or announced the Acquisition Goodness Gracious, all kinds of shopping going on. So, what do you think that? Backup it's just another indication of the streaming streaming music platforms getting more into podcasting. There's no questions what that means and you know. We said it would be more and more acquisitions simple on the on the block for a little bit of time, so not not surprising to see that they got acquired How do you think that simple cast is going to be used as a property of this larger conglomerate? Or look little bit up in the air. If you think about how simple cast is different than, let's say like an anchor with spotify anchor. spotify was free, so but You know the other one here is is paid so simple casts is a paid service, so I don't know if if Pandora's going to convert to a free model with simple cast, or if they're going to keep it a paid model that I think that's the biggest question of having my mind, instead they might be using it for in house things I would assume, but who knows I mean I'm just intrigued as aware fits because just like you're saying. It's slightly different like I didn't. I'm not sure like I wanna see what goes on with with simple Casper's sure they've done some really wonderful things when it comes to the community and whatnot, but not just not just acquisitions going on, but there's some rumors happening between between what am I. These guys have changed their name so many different times that I always forget like what everything is so. What's up with stitcher in mid roll and Omni? Rumor is they are in have been up for sale from scripts, and they've been shopping around, and and so that that is the rumor. That's out there and we'll see this. It's been reported multiple places. Inside sources and All kinds of stuff so We'll see what happens there, but we said it beginning the YOU'RE GONNA see more deals announced throughout this year. and. You can actually read more about this. There's there's an article on Google to a search for Stitcher I'm sure you'll find some articles that have popped up about it. If you want to read more about it, it's just a sign of the consolidation and changes in the industry which are going on all the time, so.

"And now you can unlimited two times a week right here a podcast one. Welcome back everybody Okay I have. We didn't talk about anything. I wanted to talk about yesterday off off on a tangent which was fine because we we we had to cut cover that ruled by the way thank God we recovered the show. From last week I know so That was nerve. That was very scary so at last week after we recorded I went to John Berman's office. Yes so Dr John. Berman's used to have a show years ago with her sister Berman and Berman and she's a urologist but she specializes in women's health and anti-aging hormones and sexual dysfunction like all all these different things so I went to her office. And this guy. What do you call those things are they gifts are gifts gifts? Gifts names gift. That's all you thought about. When when you this guy was there? And he had brought that M. sculpt which I had heard about because I thought it was the professional version of lightning fit right but it's not so the lightning lightening fit is electricity and like the elect like the m. s. m. SKULD is magnetic. Okay so do you get more of a result. I guess it's very powerful. They're selling it to doctors doctors offices and he showed me some before and after after it seems to have an immediate effect immediate lifting toning effects. If you had a photo shoot or something and then apparently it has cumulative effect K.. And you do. It's it's not cheap. I feel like I've seen every celebrity. This yeah it's like a thousand dollars a treatment you have to four treatments and then maybe do some maintenance maybe but he he says. You really don't have to really but tim me. I'd kind of like to try it just to see. I think they're gonNA bring the machine down to Terry's office in Japan's GonNa try to okay. Hi I'm curious because to me it's not for someone who's got wait till lose This looks like an. And they don't claim weight loss it's more muscle muscle building okay so intoning securely sculpting Keno Yeah. It almost feels like you're kind of Galway. And you want to shred a little bit. Hey Day but they also claim that it can tighten the stomach muscles. Okay now look if you have a huge separation you know what what do they call the dioceses in your stomach muscles. After having kids some people get a big separation. The only way you could fix that is surgery. They have to sell them back together. That's a big operation. And you lose your ABS. That's so scary. It flattens the whole thing out and there's nothing you can do to get him back. No because it's flat the thing about it they so tight it's flat so you can't get apps most people I think. A high percentage I don't know if that's absolute. I should be careful what I say there. But that's what Terry said. He said we really don't ever count having APPS. And if you do that which is what always scared me about doing that. But he said if you have a little bit of dioceses it can help howdy. We know if you have it you can see it and you could feel it. Some women can actually stick their hand in between their muscles in their stomach really not. I'm not to freak you out more but yeah okay anyway so we were kind of playing around with that so that was kind of interesting and then she told me she was is on our show. She was on Heather dubrow years ago and she had told us about this thing called Thermie Vaa remember. She was like it's this vaginal rejuvenation thing. It makes it all pillow in there and like yeah. We have a problem with and she's like well I'm dating and I and I'm like okay. Whatever so she was on our show work and we talked Reggie? There's a new thing I'm like. Well what is the new thing it and she said it's called Votava. She's like it's the same idea but it can go up deeper and whatever Mike Okay. I'm by I'm going to try. And she's it's like okay. When do you want to come in and like what are you doing tomorrow? I have an opening I go get a great so whatever the office. We're playing with the whole thing. And then he did the procedure on me and I have no idea. I think you have have to hurt. Well how long did what day it took about. I'm going to say thirty minutes K.. Doesn't hurt it all kind of warm sensation weird that your a friend is doing it on you just going in there with something. Yeah it should go up and inside and the kind of just go back and forth and back and for them back and forth okay and then they do the outer her Labia. Hey Yeah because apparently it can tone. Okay Well No. It's just warm. Okay okay but it was fine. It was totally fine. So have you had sex after that we did and anything was there any difference. I thought it was. I don't know because it had been a while since we had SAXO. Yeah right so I'm not really sure but I said we can't wait so long and I want to. Maybe after the second one will say I'm not sure I totally noticed anything yet but it was the the first one but it's not supposed to help enhance the orgasm or yes. Well what she says is it. She didn't say it tights. She says it makes everything really like pillowy. Nice in there's ears in a better than for them versus you youtube because I think it like Blake pushes the nerves I I don't know notice a difference. He's always uh-huh okay. Good so fun is hilarious. All right so I'm going to tell you about my trip to Catalina and don't take anything of divine okay. All right so I took hook cocoa to Catalina and it was honestly it was like one of the best trips ever okay why it was just fine. It was easy. We took the ferry across. We got the fancy Commodore Lounge tickets. Sit upstairs which wasn't really fancy. But they're so nice and they have like waiters and drinks and everything. How is she going into it? was she like Lovey Dovey was good. She was so excited she was really excited. And so we took the ferry over. We check into hotel and we Nellie joking before how do I get here. How do I get there? And they finally started laughing. Everything's right there. Yeah constantly so we got there. We walked two seconds. Pickens to our hotel dumped her staff and we went on the aerial. Ropes Course K.. And it's like an outer version of Ninja Warrior. And some of the. I thought it was going to be a little easier than it was to be honest with. There's a beginner intermediate advanced courses so we did a couple of the year ones. We got the hang of it and you have to clip clipping and clip out yourself. Okay and she's eight. Yeah but there's water underneath you know. There's no water your land this land I by the way water would have been. I would probably would have even not as nervous. Oh yeah that's why I thought it'd be over water. Know How a tree house thing. Yeah overland and and some of the obstacles if you can picture this seat. Let's say you have to walk across a bridge right but the bridge is made out of You shape ropes. Okay like an earring right and then in front of that is another u-shaped rope and then another one another another one so you have to step on the rope and hold on like like as if you're going to jump rope yet and then you have to get to the next one hand hand foot foot and and they're moving their swinging. Oh my God and you have to get all the way across. And there's like twenty of them and you're saying you have to clip yourself after each known or whether you clip onto the line and then you can go across but some of them have these safety catches in the middle where you have to clip clip while you're holding my God this thing. Some of them were like pieces of logs with ropes. Holding them up. So like you're looking at it you're thinking Oh look just hold on and you walk across log log but vertical the logs okay. And so you have to hold onto the rope. And they're swinging and you're renting high up and you're high up in your stepping thing too but it was amazing. She had to get rescued twice vice. She's GonNa kill me if I tell you after you. She wanted to go ahead of me. Okay and I'm watching and I'm like and so she. She did all the courses that I was behind finder and it was really really fun. We had one little moment where we're walking up to the trail and we're with this guy will and he was really cool and I said something and she goes shut up mom she was joking but will look. Don't talk like that to your mom or something. He in a nice way. He wasn't like inappropriate but he was like. Oh that your mom Tom Whatever it threw her off and she recovered but when we were done with the ropes course she was kind of with me. And I'm like what's what is going on. She's like you you got mad and I didn't get mad. I said that embarrassed me. She was I was kidding. And I said I know you're kidding but it's still not nice to say and and it doesn't sound good to other people which embarrassing to me I said maybe in the future just say shush up and like something happened a few hours later and she went shit. Shush up mom. Okay and totally got. It was fine but it was a good moment because says she hangs onto things and I don't know why she's upset or Mad God because it's like hours later she's remembered something so that was really good. Good moment was a good moment. That's awesome so we finished the ropes. Course we what we're Walkman rotel. I rented my friend. You Bet we go shower and change. We went to dinner at this place called. I WANNA say. It's Steve Steakhouse it's either Steve. Someone steakhouse and you go upstairs. And it's overlooking the water and they gave this fabulous table right along the window overlooking the water. We had this amazing dinner. Food is is really good and we went to the candy store. Oh I ate so much I mean anything that I didn't gain in Europe I don't know why have blown now but here you go French fries tips. Whatever which the candy store? We got bags of candy that we went to the arcade we played in the arcade. It was so fun. You just walk everywhere. Yeah and we went to sleep but it was like eleven by the time I went to sleep so he slept in a little bit. Got Up went to go parasailing and now she's kind of freaking out like maybe we should chicken out..

"I status Apple Pay authorizations and apple care information. This is huge for me. I have the non normal problem of having added to many review units to my account over too many years who knew there was a hard limit on apple devices. Ten it turns out and trying to manage that through cloud dot com has never been easy with Catalina a few clicks, and I was done. Apple ID bliss. I've already covered signing with apple as part of thirteen, but it's going to be available on all of those platforms, including the MAC and Java script for the web, the gist is this download Anap like a new image editor. And if it offers signing with Google and Facebook, it has to offer a sign and without bowl as well. If the app doesn't care about your data and just wants you in as fast as possible, it just lets you click and start working, if it wants data, I like your name, and Email signing with apple will give it your verified, apple ID name. And if you're okay with it, you're verified, apple ID, Email address, is, well, if you're not okay with it, apple will create. A unique address for you. Random I non amazed that you can reply to if and when needed, but also revoked at any time, just for that app, and apple never sees or attain any of those emails, and because they're all unique companies like Google and Facebook was trying to connect all of our dots only dead ends. If you already have an account like from another app by the same company and has already in your keychain signing with apple is smart enough to just give you that to log in with instead that way, you're not creating duplicate accounts or losing access anything valuable in an existing account for us. It means less passwords to remember and because it uses apples to factor. Face idea or touch ID for authentication better security as well as privacy and almost transparent convenience. Can't wait for it to launch this fall continuity features are some of my favorites ever. You know, the lens that let you easily move between your MAC and your iphone or ipad like airdrop video or copy some texts from one device to another. So. So if all apple had done. This year was made a continuity display feature where you could easily extend or mirror, your MAC display to your ipad. I'd have been the first scream day summer level happy and called it a day. But what Apple's actually given us in MAC? OS Catalina is sidecar, and it's a whole lot more. Sure. In some ways sidecar is exactly that continuity is play feature. Many of us have been wanting for a while now. It basically does turn your ipad into an extended desktop or mirror desktop for your MAC, just click on this blaze and the MAC menu bar or click, and hold on the green traffic light at the topless any window, and you're on the side car..

"It and alert, you of course, because the MAC is the MAC you can still override all of this. If you really want to and run anything you want anytime you want by. For example, control a right clicking on an app or file and open from the context menu. There's no real security. When the rules themselves can be overwritten. That's something Matt go s Catalina tries to address in a couple of ways. First with a read only hardware, partition for the root file system to keep it separate and secure from the rest of your data and reduce the chances anything, corrupt or infected to make it work. The apple file system API is introducing the concept of volume groups, that's a set of one system, volume and one data volume paired together and treat it as a single volume. The idea is that even though they're actually separate. They're presented to you, as a single volume and they share encryption state, which means the same password unlocks them both. They even maintain a single unified directory hierarchy through another new concept called firm links, which apple characterizes, as bidirectional wormholes in pather of earth, will, there's similar to siblings, but support backwards and forwards path. Vercel firmly are created and install time and are transparent to users they can only be for directories and have a one to one relationship like users to users and local to local no one too many totally monogamous and can only be used in volume groups between the paired volumes. This isn't filed gone wild people now, just like everything from system integrity protection to the t- to chip have had some real consequences for real people. Everything from making it harder to hack modern versions of MAC OS to run on older. No longer supported MAC hardware to frustrating people trying to run alternative operating systems completely they'll probably be more of the same here as well. For example, it looks like customizing at by cons like swapping out adobe Photoshop icon for when you made yourself or found on the web isn't currently working anymore. And that's something apple is going to have to work with users to find even better balances for everyone. But for now you can disable read, only if you absolutely want who by disabling system. Integrity, protection, you probably should. And it will revert to read, only the next time you reboot. But you can also Apia has added snapshot. So if something goes wrong after an update like some of your apps end up being incompatible, you'll be able to restore from the snapshot and basically quantum realm, your system back to the point before the upgrade got snapped snapshots only last for a day, though, and only if you have enough space on your drive, so if you ever need to use the feature use it fast now second in his new protections. Apple also added to new technologies to Catalina to better protect the operating system, while still allowing the system itself to be expanded their system extensions and driver kit system, extensions replace the old kernel extensions or text, but run in user space safely outside the.

"If you still have a CD drive Wikipedia kids is listed right after turntable, eight track and cassette deck. Also all of you. Playlists all of them. The apple music section includes four you browse and radio where you can find beats one featured stations and all the apple stations. The library section contains recently added artists, album's songs and music videos. The playlist section has all your playlists and the ability to turn on genius. If that floats, your machine learn MS about search also seems to be better showing you not only suggestions, but what I Adams match in which part of your library. Now, real talk pretty much everything I went looking for from itunes. I found in music. So come this fall when you update to Catalina. You should find the transition, not just easy, but totally uneventful in the best possible way. Like I said, apple won't be ripping tunes off anyone's machine, it'll still be there if only to reassure you that you have a safety net in the remote chance you need one. I mean you can still run iphoto. We'll have if you really, really want to even though you shouldn't because apple is super slow and gentle about this kind of transitional stuff. But my guess is from the moment you up. Date, you'll be able to leave itunes behind and never looked back. Even when one day you update to a new MAC and don't even realize I tunes was never installed. Yeah. All the fields but like the iky, lamp. I tunes has no feelings and can't see you cry. You probably noticed I didn't mention device think anywhere in there. I noticed you noticing have you noticed that anyway? Yeah. If you just want to manage your iphone or ipad manually and over a hard wire, the way Neo and the matrix intended, or you still have old school, ipods, knocking around fret, not all the device, backup update and restore functionality previously shellacked into tunes has now been blessedly moved to where it's always meant to have been the finder just plug in. That's it. No more items popping up eager in your face or over your desktop hundred now and forevermore when, and if you wanna do something, click the device in the finder sidebar and just do it the interface looks pretty much the same as it did. And I tune. So there's no getting lost its proper home. Has finally been found books has gotten another makeover and Catalina this time to better fold in the audio books content that used to live in towns..
