Author Mary Grabar: Howard Zinn and Nikole Hannah-Jones Hate America

"Heard about the six thousand nineteen project which since we don't have a ton of time i will simply say is evil and full of baloney but when you want some more details i would If you're going to reject something as utterly as i have you wanna be able to back it up with a big book. That has all the facts. Well mary gray bar. Who is my guest. Has written a book called debunking the sixteen nineteen project exposing the plan to divide america. Mary great bar. Welcome thank you. Well listen you. You wrote a book called debunking howard zinn exposing the fake history that turned generation against america. It's devastating stuff. I mean let's start there. Who are these people that obviously you know for lack of a better verb hate america. Why are they putting forward narratives. That are not only pernicious but are actually false. There's no question that howard johnson's version of america and the six thousand nineteen projects version america. This is complete nonsense being pedal as though it were true. Why do these people want to destroy the greatest nation in the history of the world. Well i think they have some personal resentment of howard. Zinn nicole hannah jones. Who is the creator of sixteen. Nineteen project have slightly different. Motivations both are promoting a kind of neo marxist version of history howard zinn of course was a one time member of the communist party and his allegiance was to communism and he hated this country and he hoped to foment a communist revolution. Nicole hannah jones from her interviews. And what. I've read about her and things that she has said has this resentment towards this country She believes perhaps going back to her family. that was mistreated because of their race. The black side of famish used biracial believes that this country has not treated her fairly and she believes in off. The fidel castro's cuba. She praises that regime. She she took a trip there and her politics are aligned with the squad of the democratic party. The far left. She wants to see a redistribution of wealth. She wants socialized healthcare. And so this is a history that kind of fits in. She may not be as aware of the real history is howard zinn but she refuses to take any kind of criticism. How would kind of enlightened her as to what really did

Sebastian Gorka Believes Gen. Mark Milley Is a 'Dangerous Coward'

"It seems to be a recurring theme of late. The left's gasoline of america. Why here's the perfect example. For four years we were told that this man was a dictator. The donald trump wants to create some kind of banana republic and used the military to stay in power. What's the truth. Did he spy on journalists like obama did. Did he lock up. The sources for those journalists like obama did did he spy did he use the nsa and the cia and the fbi to s- avail the author parthiv presidential campaign. No that's what democrats do the now we have in contravention of what is meant to be the bedrock of our national security establishment which is civilian control of the military. This isn't argentina in the nineteen eighties. This isn't Fidel castro's cuba or franco's spain. The chief of the military isn't a man any uniform in america. The commander in chief ways no uniform. He's a civilian. The military has to take his orders but in contravention of that constitutional order. We have the most senior man in uniform never elected by anybody mark. Milley think that he gets to take the decisions thinking that he gets to obstruct and choose who other members of the cabinet should be. Fat is the definition of a banana republic. That is a threat to the security of all americans irrespective of who you voted for. Perspective of what your personal political proclivities are when a man who has no political legitimacy nanda who according to the national security act of nineteen forty seven according to the us constitution has zero command authority. None the of the junkies has zero command authority. The constitutional mandate the code is clear. He is an advisor on military issues to the incumbent. Commander in chief. Who happens to be the civilian president. Mark milley is a threat to the american republic. And he's clearly not a republican and he clearly does not believe in america. I he is a coward and he's a dangerous coward.

"With a more humiliating punishment. Castro paraded them on television. Creating a a spectacle. He offered to return the prisoners to the us in exchange for five hundred tractors. Eventually they were returned for medical supplies. The bay of pigs invasion was an embarrassing farce and an unequivocal disaster. The cia and cuban. Exiles chastised kennedy for not sending in the us military to help in all likelihood. Kennedy's inaction was out of fear of soviet retaliation as it was the bay of pigs invasion was doomed from the start. It was predicated on the mistaken. Belief that castro's regime was weak and only needed a nudge to collapse. The cia had been woefully misinformed. As for castro he came out of the bay of pigs invasion not only unscathed but greatly strengthened the cia an american government had inadvertently injected the castro regime with steroids. By the american goliath castro's prestige and power were enhanced became even more of a legendary hero. Now no one could touch him. Unfortunately this wouldn't be the last time. Fidel castro tengo with the united states. And the next time. Castro dared the american superpower. His gamble would bring the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation. Thanks for listening to dictators next week will chronicle how fidel castro maintained his grip on cuba for nearly fifty years survived the fall of the soviet union and managed to keep the world's strongest nation at bay among the many sources we used. "Are counted that despite such enthusiasm castro had a slight problem. Batista was going around saying that castro was dead. That wouldn't do castro new appearances. Were everything sympathizers would give up hope revolution. If they thought he was dead but if he could show he was still fighting and project confidence in victory he would inspire others to join his cause and also make batista look like a fool so in february nineteen fifty seven castro drafted the first manifesto from the sierra maestra the manifesto urged cubans to fight the regime and disrupt the economy by attacking sugar cane farms putting his money where his mouth was castro range to have his own. Family's plantation burned to the ground coinciding with the publication of the manifesto a reporter from the new york times. Miraculously snuck his way past. Batista's patrols and made it to castro. Castro always want to recognize the importance of propaganda leapt at the opportunity to speak to the press when the times article was published. The regime naturally refused to believe it saying it was all lies. But then a photograph showing castro with the american journalist was also published proving. That castro was very much alive and so was his revolution. You know one two punch with teesta looked like a fool. While castro was hailed a hero still batista had bigger problems than castro with virtually no popular support much of batista's power rested on the back of the us. So when a group of naval officers in san diego's staged a revolt unrelated to castro's revolution. But he employed american military planes to bomb the city killing hundreds of innocent civilians. American generals praised batista. But the us state department was horrified soon. There was a feeling among government officials. That perhaps it was time for batista to go while batista struggle to keep his head above water. Castro was gaining steam. his guerrilla army. The twenty sixth of july movement was growing and they were finally gaining. Some real victories including the capture of the elevator. Garrison in late may much of castro. Success relied on his ability to win over cuba's poor his army redistributed land and livestock after driving out large landowners in the territory. The rebels took over in eastern cuba. He ordered hospitals clinics and schools to be built. But that didn't mean. The revolutionaries hands were free of blood. When castro's inner circle discovered that a local man had accepted a bribe to lead the guerrillas into an ambush. Castro sentenced the man to death according to some reports. Jay personally shot the man in the head. The move was reckless and wasn't isolated. Though castro is making real headway many of batista's proponents remain suspicious of him. He had a reputation for being boorish and having sudden outbursts of anger his companions were seen as immature boys in order to win. Over these moderates castro released a second manifesto in which he made a series of liberal promises among the promises were free elections and land. Redistribution in which landowners would be fairly compensated. The second manifesto managed to put moderates at ease but before any of his promises could be fulfilled. Castro still had to defeat but army and that was no small task in may nineteen fifty eight and annoyed. Batista launched operation fin female or end of fidel. Roughly ten thousand soldiers were tasked to hunt down around five hundred rebels within a month. The army had castro hemmed into around a few square miles and nearly out of food and ammunition. But even now castro refused to back down instead. He launched small-scale ambushes. And quick retreats into the jungle the epitome of guerrilla warfare and highly effective and castro's men also had a few other unexpected advantages. Though there fo- may have seemed insurmountable. There were in fact serious. Cracks in the batista army two thirds were raw recruits with low morale constant guerrilla. Fighting convinced them that the rebel force was far larger than it actually was even worse the. Us finally abandoned batista. Congress was now controlled by a left leaning democratic majority and they were unwilling to ignore the atrocities committed by batista. They pulled out all of the states military aid leaving. The cuban cardio dangerously is elated by august fin day. Fidel had imploded with morale and discipline extinguished the army that had assembled to crush castro simply packed up and walked home. The whirlwind momentum shift was now firmly with the rebels in late december chain and three hundred men captured. Santa clara a large city. In the center of cuba batista's men were so dispirited. That around twenty five hundred soldiers surrendered from then on more of batista. Soldiers would simply lay down their arms rather than fight. They didn't see the point of fighting for a leader who is rapidly falling from grace. Fidel castro could taste the victory. He was less than two hundred miles from the capital of havana and with soldiers waving the white flag. It seemed as if he could easily waltz right in waltz. Right in castro. Did a fear stricken batista's saw the writing was on the wall and refused to wait for the rebels to arrive so on january first. Nineteen fifty. Nine batista resigned as leader of cuba. The next morning he climbed aboard an airplane and flew to the dominican republic in exile. Of course before he left it was revealed that batista's government had embezzled or appropriated over four hundred million dollars worth of cuba's gold and dollar reserves leaving the treasury with some twenty million dollars but that was a problem for another day while batista's spent the beginning of nineteen fifty-nine fleeing for his life. Fidel castro was celebrating with his closest companions and allies among those sipping champagne with him was american actor. Errol flynn by january third. The dust had settled in. The revolution was officially victorious in a speech before two hundred thousand spectators in santiago castro proclaimed the revolution begins now for the first time the republic will really be entirely free but cuba's new leader didn't realize he had one more fo- to face the united states of america coming up the us attempts to overthrow castro at the bay of pigs. "The trial to his advantage. While on the stand. Castro launched into a fiery for our speech condemning batista and ending with his soon to be immortal declaration. History will absolve me. Transcripts of the speech were smuggled out of prison and published raising his prestige even further still. It wasn't enough to save him. Castro was sentenced to fifteen years in prison while in prison. Castro managed to keep in touch with revolutionaries on the outside he would eventually rename his organization. The twenty six th of july movement and for around the next year and a half. He focused on reading and plotting the next steps of his revolution. Then seemingly out of nowhere. Castro got a lucky break after harshly cracking down on dissidents full hence yoga teesta was feeling the public pressure so in an attempt at good. Pr batista a general. Amnesty for political prisoners in may nineteen fifty five twenty nine year old. Fidel castro was released still. Castro was convinced that his amnesty wouldn't last. He was sure batista would sooner or later tried to have him killed so in july. He and his brother exiled themselves to mexico before he laughed. Castro wrote a letter to a friend in which he proclaimed. If i return it will be with tyranny. Beheaded at my feet coming up. Castro rebuilds his army and the fight to batista. Fidel castro was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for attempting to incite a revolution but only after a year and seven months into his sentence. He was granted clemency current dictator full. Nco teesta was feeling the political pressure after years of violent suppression of dissidents. What he didn't realise was that by freeing castro he was sealing his own fate a twenty nine year old. Castro was still intent on starting a revolution but he didn't trust the batista so he was going to have to do it while in exile when castro arrived in mexico in july nineteen fifty five. He had nothing no money. No men his once. Twelve hundred strong revolutionary army now consisted of just him and his brother rahul. The future of the revolutions seem bleak but soon after his arrival castro made new allies. Most prominent among them was a twenty seven year old. Argentinian with basma. His name was arnesto guevarra but his friends called him by an interjection. Common in argentina. J. j. was also in mexico to lick his wounds a year earlier. He had witnessed firsthand. How the c. I. a. engineer the overthrow of the democratically elected government in guatemala. All in the name of stopping communism and keeping banana prices low and although he was not a cuban nationalist like castro the marxist che was more than happy to fight against capitalist dispute like batista he and castro became close friends and in time. Chase brand of marxism would have a profound effect on the cuban revolution. And castro's own ideology for now though. The anti batista buddies had to find a way to put ideas into practice. One of the first things they needed to do was raise some cash so castro traveled to the us seeking out cuban exiles who could bank roll his revolution. He managed to raise nine thousand dollars. Or roughly eighty eight thousand dollars in today's money. Unfortunately that wasn't going to be enough. So castro turned to an unusual benefactor former cuban president carlos prio soak across the very man batista deposed prio secured one hundred thousand dollars worth nearly a million today with the hope of becoming. Powerful again once castro. One castro wasn't so sure about that but at least now he had the money he needed to go. After batista in the fall of nineteen fifty-six castro secured a boat dubbed the grandmother and recruited eighty-one men arming them with rifles and submachine guns on november twenty fifth castro and his men set sail seven clumsy vomit strewn days at sea. The grandmother crash landed in the swamps of cuba's southern orientate province castro. Pick the same landing spot where his hero. Jose marti had landed decades earlier during his own revolution. The revolution had come home. Castro's group trudged their way through the heavily forested sierra maestra mountain range on december fifth a few days after making landfall an army unit discovered them and opened fire. Several revolutionaries were shot including jay. Who took a bullet to the shoulder. Those who survived scattered into the jungle. Castro into associates found themselves hiding in a sugar-cane field for five days. It seemed as if the revolution was about to end before it even started but castro refused to admit defeat. He kept himself motivated and sane by whispering endlessly about his plans for the future of cuba. Castro later joked. I was commander in chief of myself and to others but after those five lonely days castro and his men hoped the coast was clear. They came out of hiding once more trekking through the mountains. They arrived at the rendezvous a small farm on december sixteenth over the next couple of weeks. A few more half dead stragglers stumbled onto the far when his army ballooned to eight. Castro enthusiastically proclaimed now. We have won the war. The days.

"Buckner, forever known for error in eighty six World Series dies at sixty nine they didn't even get to dying part before they got to the World Series era part, nothing about batting champ with the cubs all star, we here on Memorial Day have been mentioning the people that you have told us about the, the information Joseph Paul Haley, Mark actually wrote in and said that he wanted to honor his dad's military experience Paul of Joseph, Paul Haley, enlisted in the navy at the age of seventeen guard duty at naval air station. Alameda, was six he saw sixteen be twenty-five being loaded onto the US hornet before departing on the famous Doolittle raid, a flu as aircrew on the. Peavy y five patrol craft and the Pacific and Atlantic enlisted in the coast guard and forty-seven aircrew and aircraft mechanic, a flu escorted. And then enlisted in the air force instructed fifty two crews retired from the air force active duty and service at nineteen sixty two at the rank of tech sergeant moved to central coast joined civil service worked at Vandenberg for the tenth air defense squadron retired in nineteen seventy nine and just last year. So those are the kind of stories this what we like to do on Memorial Day in a few minutes, though. The army tweeted something, a few days ago that got a response that I don't think they were expecting and we'll talk about we'll talk about that a few minutes, one of the big stories over the weekend was they found that missing hiker the one in Maui. Yeah. After sixteen days or boyfriend had killed her. We both we both put the boyfriend on death row there. But what are you gonna do? Alex stone joins us. He's not as cynical as us. He was. He knew she'd survive this. There were a lot of people about the boyfriend had Ben concl-, even took a polygraph to prove. He wasn't involved in said, look, I passed it, and even though nobody really knew who had done the polygraph or any of the parameters around the polygraph that, that he was out there saying no that he was innocent. And then police said he was never seen as a suspect in the case turns out early you never was because she was out in the forest the entire time. Just a side note, psychopaths pass polygraph tests, either either they actually pass them or they'll tell you, they passed those. Here's the other thing I mean nine times out of ten when you have this story, the boyfriend slash husband did it, right. We're just being cynical Colorado. It seems like every case that comes out of air. The recent ones where the guy down kind near Pueblo right now with it, whereas beyond say went missing then the data northern Colorado, where the whole family went missing and turned out. He was responsible things. Scott Peterson any of those typically comes back to the boyfriend of this woman survived on moths in a cave. Yeah. It was it was wild berries plans. So would make her sicker that he was already dealing with some infections that she didn't want to drink some nasty Brown water, green water and then have stomach problems on top of everything else. But he was Wednesday may eighth last time she had been seen alive. She was in workout gear went to a post office on Maui. She was seen on surveillance video at that post office. And then she was gone, and he was believed that she went for a hike, nobody knew for sure, she didn't bring her cell phone or route four was founded a parking lot of before his reserve where she was later found weeks, went by Maui firefighters called off their search. I was pretty much left up to her friends. They had a gofundme account going, and they had raised about seventy five grand and on Friday, they use some of that money to rent a helicopter and they went out and amazingly they saw down in a ravine in the water waving. The chopper and they couldn't believe they said that it was her, but it was they ended up finding a clearing land. They got to her, then they got firefighters to bring in a helicopter that could rescue or out of there, but it was really by luck and by perseverance of the buddies who decided okay firefighters aren't going to do it anymore. They think she's either dead or not really, in that wooded area because there was nothing other than her car pointing to her being there. They never found anything and they couldn't search day in day out the amount of money that was being spent. So it was left up to them, and, and they found her pretty significant that she said from her hospital bed, that there was a, there was a point where she had to make a decision to continue on. And she said that she heard this voice that said, if you want to live. You must keep going, and she had lost her shoes. In a flash flood, she had been hiking through the forest barefoot, there are a bunch of steep drop off in the area and she had gone down. One of those, she broke her left, tibia. And so she was in a lot of pain. Had terrible sunburns she added section. She lost about fifteen pounds, bad shape, but pretty darn good shape for everything that she had been through hiking through thinking. She was going to die very little food, broken bone. And yet she continued on until she said she could hear a lot of helicopters during the whole search effort, but they never saw her until this one that she happened to be an open area in that reveal getting some water, and then her friends flew over in that helicopter, which, by the way, they weren't even looking for her at that point they were gonna land, and then go hiking to look for. And they said they looked down, and they thought, oh, look at that hiker down there, and what it's Amanda, and then figured out a place to land, and then they went in and found her. But they weren't in that moment actively looking for because they plan on doing that on foot. So Alex, when do you think our next hike is maybe a while weeks, how soon as to the outdoorsy type the might try to do it again? Pretty soon she's down to the hospital now. She. May talk to reporters a little later today. It's still what ten o'clock in the morning in Maui. So it's still early in the morning. Her family says she may come out he'll more stories she did Facebook live kind of a little bit of interactive thing yesterday. But then she was released from the hospital and everything that she went through two days in the hospital, they gave her fluids. She was dehydrated and now she's at home. So we may find out more today, but wouldn't put a pastor for what we know about her that she'll do a little more yoga and a little more hiking, probably pretty quickly, Alex. Stay to you to doing the downward dog for you right now. And the teacher in Meave recognizes the light and the teacher in you. That means but okay. That's. With me. Get back into your downward dog. Alex stone there at the latest on this. Amanda, Eller this hiker, that was missing in Maui, and then survived on wild fruit and water, and moths over the win grit and grits. Yes. Over the weekend, the US army posts, a, a question on social media. How has serving impacted you and let me tell ya, the responses got very real very quick. "And i know that the people have difference of opinion about the impact of sanctions but sanctions sometimes do work positively and i know that some people consider me an extremist on this but i think it would be wonderful if the the entire free world people who go to cuba as tourists would take the same attitude towards castro cuba that they did towards south africa where if one went to south africa one became an instant pariah so that's that's the the bottom line the bottom line is the cuban economy is not collapsed because of the embargo it's because of the castro economic policies and pedra friday that is the big question right of the big dilemma over sanctions is does 'isolation further further change or does it just entrench a system that's already in place from from a business perspective what have you seen as the effect i want to tell you what i've seen and once again i agree with professor airy that the recent to cuban konami doesn't work is principally because it's a centrally planned marxist command economy and we know that historically that's collapsed and they had that's exactly right that's exactly right so the subsidies went away and then it just doesn't work but but i think we're the with the error the american air has been as here is david and goliath here is the narrative of the big neighbor to the north unit putting all kinds of roadblocks blocking financial transactions and i think you see it in the vote of the un to vote every year is one hundred fifty nine to one hundred and fifty nine to i think we lost the marshall islands last year it's it's because the consensus is you know and again this is a narrative that the cuban government has used brilliantly it's david and goliath you're beating me up and it's an excuse for everything and the truth of the matter is that the cuban government and this is a challenge for disconnection lisa stop deceiving itself the the recent acumen economy is dysfunctional is because it is a centrally planned economy and you are holding down the creativity and d'etre enterpreneurial spirit of the cuban people and you're not allowing cuban americans to invest there in.
