A highlight from Your-Weekly-Tech-Update-EP-132
"Hello everyone! Welcome to your weekly tech update, the show that explores the newest, coolest, and sometimes mind -boggling side of tech available on the interwebs. I am your tech therapist, Ray McNeil. I'm here to take your mind off of the current state of the world and my prescription? Technology. Coming up on the program today, Google's Tilt Brush virtual painting app is coming to the PlayStation VR. This has me so excited. Valve's first entry into the Half -Life world in 13 years is now available and it's in VR. And happening in this week's What The... We're actually going to rename the segment this week to give you just a moment of joy. That and a whole lot more coming up on today's edition of your weekly tech update, next. Hi everyone. Google's Tilt Brush painting app is conquering one of its few remaining frontiers. We're talking about consoles. The search giant has teamed up with Outerloop Games to release the 3D creative tool for the PlayStation VR. To no one's surprise, it's the same experience just in your living room. It turned your PlayStation Move controllers into virtual brushes that you can use to create pretty much any immersive masterpiece that you can dream up. And yes, Sony is aware that Move controllers aren't always easy to find. It's actually selling a $100 Tilt Brush bundle that includes two wands plus a code for Tilt Brush. That kit doesn't include the PlayStation VR headset itself, but it beats having to scrounge for controllers at other stores or even shops like Goodwill. However you complete your setup, it could be worth the expense if you need another creative tool to help you relax during a particularly stressful time. Dragon's Lair was a technological marvel when it was released way back in 1983. Instead of using conventional graphics of the day, which were not great at all, it featured real animation by ex -Disney animator Don Bluth enabled by beefy laser disc storage. It wasn't a particularly good game. Alright, it was horrible, but those stunning visuals turned it into a five -star quarter eater and inspired home versions on a variety of platforms. The original is on Steam right now if you wanted to play it, and GOG picked up the Dragon's Lair trilogy back in 2018. In 2015, Bluth and Gary Goldman launched a $550 ,000 Kickstarter project to help fund the creation of Dragon's Lair the movie. It tanked, so they cancelled and went to Indiegogo looking for $250 ,000 slightly over what was pledged on Kickstarter. At this time, they were actually successful, achieving their goal in just a couple of weeks and ultimately pulling in more than $350 ,000. And now, according to The Hollywood Reporter anyway, the project has been picked up by Netflix, with none other than Ryan Reynolds in talks to star as Dragon's Lair hero, Dirk the Daring. Bluth, Goldman, and John Pomeroy, another animator who left Disney to work with Bluth, are producing this. Netflix confirmed the report on Twitter. Dragon's Lair isn't very big on plot. Princess Daphne has been kidnapped by the Dragon Singe and is being held in the fortress of the evil wizard Marduk. And Dirk the Daring, a bold, vaguely dumbwitted knight, crashes the castle to rescue her. The game itself doesn't provide any greater depth because it's basically a series of rapid -fire quick -time events. That means the writers have the freedom to run with pretty much whatever they want. But whether that's actually a good thing, we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully it will be better than Reynolds' last collaboration with Netflix, the Michael Bay -directed cinematic fiasco Six Underground. Honestly, I can't imagine it being any worse. However, I am an action fan and I did find some mild entertainment out of that movie. Tesla is preparing to release an update to its Autopilot system that will enable it to finally automatically stop at traffic lights. And a video of the system at work has already been released. The automaker is supposed to induce more advanced driver assist features meant to help city driving, the same way Autopilot has been helping Tesla drivers for highway driving. It's part of what CEO Elon Musk calls the feature -complete version of its full self -driving capability, which Tesla was supposed to push at least to its early access owners by the end of last year. Instead, Tesla pushed what Musk called a full self -driving preview, which was the integration of stop signs and traffic lights in Tesla's Autopilot visualization. When the automaker pushed the update in December, Tesla's Autopilot system didn't act on those traffic lights. Now, it looks like Tesla has started to push an Autopilot update with the actual ability to handle intersections to its early access fleet, a group of owners who beta test new software updates from Tesla. Out of Spec Motoring on Twitter, who apparently has access to a Model 3 with early access software, released a video of the new Autopilot software in action. It shows the Model 3 detecting the red light and stopping the car on its own with some new driving visualizations. The driver assist feature for city driving is part of a promise that Tesla has made since starting to sell its full self -driving package many years ago now. It's going to be available to owners of Tesla vehicles with the latest Autopilot hardware and who paid the $7 ,000 full self -driving capable package price, which has been listing these two upcoming features, recognize and respond to traffic lights and stop, and automatic driving on city streets. The fact that the feature is in early access right now means that Tesla is closer than ever to releasing it to its broader fleet, but the timeline is not exactly clear. Sometimes Tesla only takes days between pushing a feature to its early access owners and the larger customer fleet, while at other times it can take weeks. While Tesla Autopilot will be able to automatically operate at intersections like with Autopilot on the highway, Tesla still says that drivers must keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times and, of course, be ready to take control. The driver is still always responsible for driving a Tesla vehicle.

Frank Tran's Approach to Ethics Is Rooted in Buddhism
"So two years ago, if I may ask, you were in a different place. If you were to compare then and now, do you think that your majoring in ethics has something to do with your growth? I think it's about the mission that I've learned that I gave to myself as a Buddhist because Buddha had the word that everyone is a Buddha. Okay. Do we discover a Buddha? I think you guys can look it up. It's a really interesting term. And I watched the stories Buddha drew. I could read it. I could sum up. It just, he used to be a prince in a castle and he climbed out the castle to experience and observe, witness all kinds of suffering. And then he shaved a head, bow, wear like a orange or dark, dark, what's the color like that? Orange, like a dark orange. And he sit right below the tree and meditate for days without eating and drinking and he become Buddha. And when he passed away, or no, when he turned into Buddha, his message is that by everyone is Buddha, everyone. I think that's the mission for me to give myself to helping people to find our Buddha is to find ourself. And today it's so stunning. I walk and I see the reflection of my shadow and I realize my shadow always with me all the

A highlight from It's Worse Than You Think! (CPI Data Released)
"Hey, welcome to Discover Crypto, everybody. Today is September 13th. It's 11 .32am. It's getting dressed. Guys, it is a wonderful, wonderful day for crypto news. We got some Ripple. We got some Hopium. We got some, you know, maybe bad news for Ripple Americans out there. We're going to talk about CPI. What is going on with CPI? Is it worse than you think it is for the average American? CPI numbers don't look terrible, but we're going to look at some metrics that actually affect you on a day -to -day life at a pretty enormous rate there. Also, we're going to talk about Gensler. We got PayPal, Stablecoin, we're going to talk about, and I think maybe the thing on the right, the rights. We got to update that, right? If Milady, is that on there? I don't know. It's old. It's old. Yeah, it was yesterday. Yeah, alright. But guys, thank you for joining. Make sure you hit that like button, everybody. We got AJ and Drew on the ones and twos. How are we doing? What's up? How you doing? I like your shirt today, Deezy. You're looking dressed up. Yes, alright, alright. So, alright, I see people, you know, yeah, I'm not in the hoodie. Where's the hat? I am going to the first wedding venue today that we're going to check out. We're hoping it's the winner. It's like the castle at something or other. And so, you know, that's what I'm going to be doing. So I might not be hosting ATB. We're going to have a special guest hosting ATB. I got to leave out a little bit early. I think it's like an hour or two away. Deezy rocking the collar shirt. Yeah, I want to rock the Michael Saylor shirt. I think you should pop it up, you know, collar up high. Alright, chat, let me know. Should I do pop collar up or undo two buttons? Three six mafia. Three six. Great, great, great rap group there. Crunchy Black, overrated. Alright, guys, make sure you're subbed to the channel. We're putting out a lot of great content. And make sure you sub to some of these other channels as well. ATB, BitLab Academy, The Basement, Candle Mafia, of course, Hit Network, and NFT Alpha. Taco, just talking to Taco, putting out regular content on there. Guys, make sure you check that out. Now, let's look at the crypto market cap. We are now above 10 ,000 coins again. They're going down, it's going up. Alright, 10 ,001, crypto market cap is up half of a percent. We are now coming in at $1 .08 trillion, 24 -hour volume coming in at $39 billion, Bitcoin dominance 47 .3, and gas really low, only 22 gwei there, or 11 per gwei, Deasy doing a meeting with his old... No, Jimbo, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't even talk about that job anymore. That was a long time ago, it was like 15 years ago I worked there. Pants off, dance off, I'd have to have pants to take pants off. So, you know, just make sure I keep the waistline below the desk there, so pull that shirt down. We don't want to see the whitey -tities. Whitey -tities, what were we thinking? What were we thinking? What? How? Yeah, dude, like, what? What? I don't know, man. Alright, Bitcoin is up 0 .5%. We're coming in now at 26 ,285 ETH, is now still above 16 at 1611. It is up 0 .6%. We have XRP up 0 .5%. Everything is really just moving in this 0 .5 % range or lower until we get to two coins really popping off, Solana relatively going up here, 2 .6%, but TonCoin is up a ton. AJ, are you going to be doing, you're doing a little research on TonCoin, can you give us any alpha from the video that you're doing the research on? I think you're just going to have to wait and watch the video. Oh, man. No, it is super interesting, especially like, you know, they like Telegram created it, right? And then they kind of kind of got in hot water with the SEC, and then they kind of backed out of it. And now that the Telegram news is back in the picture, it kind of picked up super hard. So I'm glad that they're like kind of working out their original vision for the project. But there's a lot to it. I'm excited to continue to learn about it. Cool, cool. And I see your shirt, the VeChain, we're going to talk about VeChain in about 10 seconds. But first, yes, the desk is provocatively low, looking like a Fed.

Simply Bitcoin
A highlight from $1.4 Trillion Asset Manager Files for Spot Bitcoin ETF | EP 823
"Good morning, everybody. What's up? What's up? What's up? It is Wednesday, September 13th, the year 2023. And we got some more news coming out from the top financial asset managers of the world, officially filing another spot Bitcoin ETF. This one is Franklin Templeton, which has about $1 .4 trillion of assets under management. So it seems like Bitcoin is maturing right before our eyes. Love to see it. And I know there's the negative Bitcoiners out there, like we don't need them. Well, hey, even if we don't, there is tons of capital sitting on the sidelines waiting to get into Bitcoin. And so even though the price is crabbing sideways, it seems like there is a ton of interest in Bitcoin and you love to see it. And it really makes you wonder whether this time will be different this next bull run. And then, of course, the secondary questions of what is the SEC doing? Are they going to approve Bitcoin ETFs this year? Are they waiting for next year? What is holding them back from approving a spot Bitcoin ETF? All the things that make you say, hmm, you know, what is the final thing that will finally let the boot drop and release a spot Bitcoin ETF? So we got all that for you guys. And then as well in the news, we saw some rumblings coming out of the G20 summit about a global digital ID system, CBDC systems, which when you really read into it, it's absolutely terrifying. And interesting enough, they are using new framing and new words for this. So we'll bring you all the receipts so that you can keep track of what they are saying. But as a Bitcoiner, it's kind of one of those I told you so moments, you know, we've been talking about this for months on the show about what their plans are. And now it's no longer just us speculating about what they want to do. They are saying it for themselves. They want global control of your identity, of your transactions. And it's very interesting about how this game theory is going to play out. You know, on the one hand, as we say all the time, there is Bitcoin and then there's slavery. There is a freedom money. And then there is a total digital tyrannical authoritarian monetary system that they are trying to roll out in real time. But anyways, welcome to Simply Bitcoin. We are your number one source for the peaceful Bitcoin revolution. We cover breaking news, culture and memetic warfare. We bring on Bitcoiners from all around the world, from the biggest names to the everyday Bitcoiner. We got them all. And we will be your guide through the separation of money and state. And I am not alone today. Of course, I am here with Dell. Dell, how are you doing? Good to have you back. It is a Wednesday, of course. So we do the hosting duties. How are you doing this morning? Ah, I'm good. Things are interesting. It's how amazing people will turn on each other for entertainment in any space. Like you see things going well or they're going well, then people are happy. Like if there's a party and everybody's there and all the kids are woo, yeah, there's stuff. There's a clown and a funny clown, he's making balloons. But as soon as all the clowns go away, there's no jumping castle. There's literally nothing to do except find entertainment. The kids are probably going to turn on each other. They're going to band into teams. They're going to go. I mean, hey, what is that? Lord of the Ring, not Lord of the Rings, Lord of Flies. That's not right. Is that what it is? Lord of Flies? I think it's Lord of the Flies, right? Lord of the Flies. There we go. I knew it didn't sound quite right to me for some reason. Brain farted there. They're going to turn on each other. You see this in pretty much every situation ever. So here it is in Bitcoin space. Nothing's really happening with the price. You get tiny little blips of news. I imagine this whole, which recently revealed today, PayPal mistake, spending five and a half a million dollars to send about 800 bucks worth of Bitcoin. That would have hardly made a blip if we were in a bull market. If things were popping off and like, oh, it's 30 ,000. Oh, it's 40 ,000. Oh, I can't believe it. This little thing would happen to like, oh yeah, okay. Need would just be a little road bump along the way. But now things like that are crazy. My point here is that people will turn on each other and stay nice, be nice, be kind, rewind. It's just bear market things. This is a rite of passage. This is just how things happen at the very end of a bear market. Anyways, we are not alone today. We have a good friend. Dare I say the best producer in the game or is Jacob going to get mad at me? Anyways, we got Chris Alamo from Bitcoin Magazine here and we're going to be talking about all things Bitcoin Mag during the culture. So Chris, how are you doing today? Doing well, not the best producer. We're just the collectively the producers for the best asset in the world, we're good at that. So shout outs to you and Jacob. No, but happy to be here. Thanks for having me guys. No worries, no worries. Actually, can we do a little story time? Remember when we were at Pacific Bitcoin last year and we were walking back and we were joking, like if you, myself and Jacob are traveling somewhere, we can't all be on the same plane because then like the majority of Bitcoin producers are just completely, there's no more content being made. But yeah, anyways, anyways, good to have you Chris. Good to travel separately basically. It's like state of the union. Someone, one of us has to be missing basically. Oh my goodness, it's so true. All right guys, let's get into the numbers for today.

"This matter because the judge beyond this point never got into issues of remedy and in particular sort of a disgorgement question about you know to what extent did the misstatement of these valuations give rise to a profit that then would be subject to disgorgement under this action so there still was going to be a remedy component of this piece the judge kind of snuck in a part of the remedy that probably itself is gonna have to get shaped in a little bit more of a definitive way at what point does civil fraud become so extreme that instead of a penalty like a fine you take the businesses away put them into receivership. the opinion itself sort of goes into this a little bit notes that that point typically is when there has been a continued pattern and practice of fraudulent activity that does not seem to have been abated by prior enforcement and so forth and that's effectively where the judge ended up grounding the order to pull the certificates to do business. it is an extraordinary remedy often it's an extraordinary remedy because people once chastised with an initial adverse judgment against them tends to change their ways and you know Donald Trump famously does not in a lot of cases notwithstanding adverse legal outcomes and so you know there is probably some basis for saying that this particular organization or set of organizations has been particularly reluctant to alter their behavior notwithstanding the finding that those practices are unlawful and so at that point the law typically is going to allow the judge to pull out some bigger guns and this is definitely a big the gun. decision also goes to the heart of Trump's persona as this billionaire man who built this real estate empire. yeah I think that's right and I think with or without the the loss of the certificates to do business this particular case has done a little bit of damage to that reputational gloss right after all the main conclusion here is this you know seemingly enormous real estate empire that Donald Trump never loses an opportunity to remind us of is a castle that may be quite a bit smaller than it has been represented you might know cause many people to kind of wonder well just how big is that empire or is it really sort of empire an of much more miniature real estate interest thanks Eric that's Columbia Law School professor Eric Talley coming up the new Supreme Court term this is Bloomberg Bloomberg radio on demand and in your podcast feed on the latest edition of the tape guest a conversation with John Hurdle with Hurdle Callahan the first 30 years I was in the business bonds were such a critical dimension of a diversified portfolio and then we got to this place where we had no real yield and we needed the bonds to stabilize the portfolios but the price of that stabilization was huge because we got no real yield so as an investor I like having real yield back in the bond market I also feel like this is more more of a stock picker's market it's not just risk on risk off that's a term that has really become popular in the last 10 years it's more of a trading term than an investing term we're always risk on because we think to fulfill our clients missions we've got to be in growth assets which are stocks and private equity and so forth so it's really a question we're investors not traders and so this this market actually feels a little more normal than what we've gone through for the last 10 years john on the equity side here you some know some of the performance or most of the vast majority if not all of the performance in the s &p 500 has been from a handful of names magnificent seven do you chase those here or do you try to look for some of the names that have not you know mark andreessen wrote years ago that software is eating the world and so that is a secular change it's kind of like the industrial revolution on the other hand howard marx says beautifully there is no asset in the world it's a good investment at any price it depends on the name you've name got to go by name and by the way there are other companies that we like that are not that we do like the texan we like the u it's relative to the world because of our exposure to technology here's a full conversation on latest edition of the tape podcast subscribe on apple spotify and anywhere else you get your plus listen anytime on the bloomberg business app the business news warning the following message contains an app recommendation you you won't be able to resist girl how do you keep getting all these things for free makeup coffee and now lunch you haven't heard of the drop app drop is a free app that rewards for you shopping at places like ulta adidas and sam's club i've already earned a hundred dollars this month download drop app and get five dollars use invite code get drop two two two zoe hoker is a welder who practices his craft in metaverse with forge fx's virtual training platform he says virtual

Mike Gallagher Podcast
A highlight from Would The Deep State Try To Do The Unthinkable Against Trump?
"We get it. You're busy. You don't have time to waste on the mainstream media. That's why Salem News Channel is here. We have hosts worth watching, actually discussing the topics that matter. Andrew Wilkow, the next D 'Souza, Brandon Tatum, and more. Open debate and free speech you won't find anywhere else. We're not like the other guys. We're Salem News Channel. Watch any time on any screen for free 24 -7 at snc .tv and on Local Now Channel 525. This is your source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is The Mike Gallagher Show. Former president has a very strong grassroots base and we have seen that demonstrated. Who would have thought a mugshot on a coffee mug would be a winning idea for a politician, huh? The issue for him that I would be worried about is that in 2020 he was able to stay in his basement. They're talking about masks again. Maybe he'll go back in the basement. We cannot have four more years of Donald Trump in the White House. Now from the relieffactor .com studios, here's Mike last week. And as it so happened, I didn't even realize that my scheduled vacation was up against the Labor Day holiday. So I had kind of a long break, you know, and I recharged the batteries and I got a fresh clear head and clear eyes and I am ready to go. And it's Tuesday, September the 5th. I wake up this morning, I flip on an app, listen to one of the shows that I listen to and I hear the host boldly proclaim, Trump cannot win next year. I'm looking at the phone and I'm thinking, did he just say that? In September of 2023, with a 46 point lead over Ron DeSantis, this friend of mine said on air, Trump cannot win next year. And all I could think of was, it's a good thing I'm back. I am back just in time. I am on the way. Here I am. So welcome in to a safe space. If you are a lover of Trump's policies and what was accomplished, I mean, I don't know that he can't win. I don't know that he can win. We got to let the voters start voting because when the voters in Iowa and South Carolina and New Hampshire, when they all start voting, if the votes line up with the polls, it's going to be a short party for Ron DeSantis, period. And that's when he's got to say, I'm all in for Donald Trump. And that's when I pray Donald Trump will say, he's my guy and it's going to be a Trump DeSantis 2024 ticket, which is unstoppable. And it's even better when you think about DeSantis' ability to govern as Trump is facing all these legal challenges. It's just, isn't it wild when things that some people think are complicated are really real simple. Welcome aboard. We got a lot of territory to cover. I hope you join us. The PhD weight loss and nutrition phone number is 800 -655 Mike. That's the way you join us. Press one to come on air. I missed you. I missed the show. It's so weird. I went with my dear friends, Joey and Peg Hudson to London, and we did all kinds of sightseeing. The Hudson's dragged me out to High Clear Castle, which is the scene of Downton Abbey. I've never seen Downton Abbey, but they love it. And it was fun. It's a beautiful, beautiful, big, big mansion in the countryside. We saw some shows. We ate well. We enjoyed life, enjoyed friendship. We're all facing challenges together as a country, as Americans. And we just got to remember we're in this together. You just wonder, though, how far they're going to go to try to stop Donald J. Trump. How far will they go? And I'm going to talk about something that is unthinkable, but Tucker Carlson talked about it on his show on X, and it is a horrific thing to consider. But I was watching over the weekend Adam Schiff and Bernie Sanders and all these dirty Democrats who are now talking about dusting off the 14th Amendment. Maybe that's the case. Maybe at the polls. Maybe DeSantis can't stop him. There's no way to stop this guy. We're trying to throw criminal charges at him one after the other. Maybe we could try to put him in jail. But we realize that the Constitution doesn't preclude him from running and winning, even if he's convicted of any of these charges. Maybe we can trot out the 14th Amendment, because there's something in the 14th Amendment about an insurrection. Never mind, Trump hasn't been convicted of any kind of insurrection and won't be. He's not facing insurrection charges anywhere. It's about payments to porn stars and it's about documents and it's not everything else but insurrection. But maybe, just maybe, the 14th Amendment will work. Maybe that's going to be our ace in the hole. If that doesn't work, what's left? Well, Tucker Carlson said it, I think, over the weekend, a horrific, evil, terrifying prospect. I've prayed about this all weekend because they didn't even know whether to bring it up to you. But Tucker put it out there. Millions and millions of people are watching Tucker. I think this was during a conversation he had, if I'm not mistaken, with Dave Portnoy.

Let's Talk About It
A highlight from Episode 62: I went to Lourdes! // Marian Apparitions & Miraculous Healings
"Hey, welcome back to Let's Talk About It with Jackie and Megan. We like to talk about things that are messy, awkward, hard, or controversial, and create a space for healing. Well, welcome to... is this season five? Yeah, I don't actually, I don't know. I think it is, yeah. We only loosely keep track. Yeah, we loosely keep track at this point, but I feel like a lot of big podcasters, they don't even do seasons anymore, they just like record whenever they can. Today we're talking about that I went to Lourdes, which we hinted at last episode. Yeah, how was it there? It was great. I think before we share this episode, well, maybe along with sharing it, I'll share some of my pictures on our podcast Instagram, so you should go over there if you don't follow us, but it was kind of everything I expected and not what I expected. I don't know how to explain it. I had not seen any pictures of it besides the actual grotto where Mary appeared to Bernadette, so I knew what that looked like because you see pictures of that everywhere, but I had not really looked at pictures of Lourdes because I just wanted to not have expectations. I think I said before, I just want to go into this without expectations, and I kind of want to let God just do whatever he's going to do while I'm there because I don't want to be disappointed or, I don't know, I don't want to have a lot of expectations. I didn't even look at any pictures of Lourdes, but Lourdes was so much more beautiful than I even expected. It's up in the Pyrenees Mountains, so it's surrounded by mountains, which are just absolutely gorgeous. Meghan, you've been to Greece and you've been to mountains, and I just feel like there's just no way to describe. And then just the way that European cities look is just so beautiful, and I just think Europe is so much more beautiful than the United States. It just is. We have beautiful places with mountains and such, but just the town and everything around it and the culture, I don't know. Maybe it's just because I'm also not familiar with it, but it's just so great to me. But yeah, it was beautiful. And the church there is ridiculous. The cathedral at Lourdes, which yeah, we'll share a lot of pictures, but in the cathedral, which basically looks like if you walk into Disneyland, it kind of looks like the castle at Disneyland. And so there's the joke that Lourdes is like Catholic Disneyland because it's just so gorgeous and it kind of looks like a palace, the church there. And that was one of my favorite moments when I walked into Lourdes the first time. We got to the hotel first the night before, and then we walked down to the actual shrine, and just walking down and seeing it for the first time, I walked in with my friend and I was literally just hitting him on the arm because I was so excited and it was so beautiful. Yeah, there's like five churches in this one church. There's like, on the lower level, you can walk up and there's stairs and you can walk in, and there's this beautiful cathedral. I think it's the biggest of all the cathedrals. And then on either side, there's like, from either the bottom, you can go up this set of stairs to go toward like the top, or on the side, there's like two giant ramps that you like can go up, and you can get to the top, and there's a bottom door you can go in that's one cathedral, and there's a set of two little stairs above that door where you could go in and then go in, and there's a different church. And at the very top one, there's two side chapels off to the side before you would walk into the main church. So there's like five churches in this one giant church, and I don't know the history exactly of like how long it took, because I'm assuming it took a long time, to like build an add -on and all of that. I don't know exactly how long all of that took, but yeah, that was super cool. And we went with a Catholic priest, he's the one that led the pilgrimage, and he's one of, there's like a thousand priests that are like official priests of the shrine in Lourdes, and he's one of them because he's been going there for so long, so he got that status. So we were able to say to have Mass said in different parts of the cathedral, so yeah, I don't know. It's like, it's really hard to explain unless you've been there, but it's yeah, it's definitely very beautiful and stunning, and I had a great time, which I guess I'll talk all about in this episode, so stay tuned. So for someone like me who did not grow up with many Catholics, I'm not super familiar with a lot of the like Marian apparitions or anything, like really until I think I was friends with you, I didn't even know it was a thing. So for someone listening who's maybe in a similar position, what is the significance and the history of Lourdes? Okay, so I guess I can start with that. So I'm gonna go to my notes here because I don't want to mess it up. This region of France, which where Lourdes is, was a strategic stronghold during medieval times, and it's like situated at the foot of the Pyrenees, which I talked about, and the medieval castle of Lourdes provided protection against foreign forces. So this was like a very significant part of France. During the Hundred Years War, the French captured this region from the English in 1406 after an 18 -month siege. The medieval castle was used as a state prison from the reign of Louis the 14th, so that's something interesting. So in 1858, basically when we believe that Mary appeared to Bernadette, it was still known as a military and state stronghold. So like this place that now has been turned into like this very religious town before was a military and like state stronghold. So we believe it was in 1858, so I don't know how many years ago that was at this point, a long time, between February 11th and July 16th the Virgin Mary appeared to this young peasant girl named Bernadette. I don't know how to say her last name, it starts with an S, but we'll put it in the show notes. She was a 14 -year -old girl, and we believe that she appeared to her 18 different times. And I won't get into the details of each of those apparitions, but I'll leave a link if you want to like read the story of some of the more significant apparitions.

Timothy Keller Sermons Podcast by Gospel in Life
A highlight from Let the Dead Bury Their Dead
"Welcome to Gospel and Life. This may sound strange at first, but in many ways, Jesus is an upside down Savior. He came not in strength, but in weakness. He came not to gain power, but to give away power. As a teacher then, He spoke in a way that turned people's expectations on their heads, calling people to lose their lives to gain them, to die to themselves so they can truly live. Some of His teachings can be difficult to understand or accept. Today, Tim Keller is teaching through one of the hard sayings of Jesus, showing us that while Christ's teachings aren't always easy, they provide the answers to having a meaningful life and a relationship with Him. After you listen, please take a few seconds to rate and review our podcast. Your review can help others to discover our podcast and experience the hope of the gospel. Now here's today's teaching from Dr. Keller. I'm going to read to you from Luke chapter 9 verses 57 to 62. We're in the middle of a, or actually near the end of a series we're doing here, morning and evening sermons on the hard sayings of Jesus, the difficult teachings of Jesus. Luke 9, 57 to 62, and as they were walking by the way, one man said to him, I will follow you wherever you go. Jesus replied, foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the son of man has no place to lay his head. He said to another man, follow me. But the man replied, Lord, first let me go and bury my father. Jesus said to him, let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God. Still another said, I will follow you Lord, but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family. Jesus replied, no one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. This is God's word. There's a sense in which Jesus, it doesn't seem to me if Jesus was a pastor that his church would have grown very fast. Jesus acts in a completely different way than most church leaders do. People come and say, I want to join up and Jesus says, get back, think, he's harsh. He sets them back on their heels. He's so different than, well, not just church leaders, but any leader of an institution, any leader of a movement very much wants to inspire people to come and make commitments. Leaders of movements want people to be attracted. They want to make it easy for them to enter. They want to make it attractive for them to sign up and to buy, buy in. Jesus is very different. In fact, if you really read the scripture, you will see that Jesus is altogether different than anything the human race has ever produced. He's continually surprising you. When you think he's going to be harsh, when you think he's going to be stormy, he's sunny. And when you think he's going to be sunny, he's stormy. When he comes up to the prostitutes and the pimps, he sits down and eats with them. When he sees the lepers, when he sees the woman caught in adultery, with so many of these people, there's exquisite tenderness. But then when he comes up, not only with the religious leaders, but people who come up and say to him, I'm sold out for you, I want to live for you, I want to be with you, he's harsh. He's cold. He almost seems to be wanting to repel them. Now the reason that Jesus does this in this case, in these cases of these three men, is clearly because they do not understand what they are asking for. They don't understand what it means to follow Christ. And therefore, if we take a look at what Jesus answers, how he answers these three men, we're going to learn a great deal about what it means to follow Jesus. This is a very basic text, it's a very basic sermon. What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? What does it mean? Let's look. First thing, we're taught by the text, is Jesus is showing them that to follow Jesus, to follow Christ, is to enter the kingdom. To follow Christ is to enter the kingdom. Excuse me. See, in every case, the men are talking about following, I want to follow you, and in each case, Jesus keeps talking about the kingdom. They're talking about following Christ and he's talking about, he's making them see following Christ in terms of entering, serving, proclaiming the kingdom. Why? Jesus is pointing out, something that we often point out here, but let's look at it from this perspective again, that being a Christian is not simply a matter of ethical and doctrinal improvement. But rather, Jesus is saying, to become a Christian, to follow me, is not just a quantitative thing, it's a qualitative thing. It's not simply a matter of improvement, but it's a change in status and nature. Put it this way, becoming a Christian means to cross a border. If you're in Texas and you want to go to Canada, how do you do it? You get in a car, let's say, or you get in an airplane, and you go for a long, long way. You may spend a great deal of time getting to the border. And yet, you may have spent, I don't know, now see, I don't know much about the dimensions, I don't know how many hundreds of miles or even how many thousands of miles it is from the bottom of Texas to the border of Canada, but you can go thousands of miles and you could be standing right at the border. However, the fact is, all of that improvement of your location, all of that change, and it's been a massive change, all of that exertion and all of that cost has not gotten you into the kingdom at all. The fact is, before, you were 100 % outside of the Kingdom of Canada, and now you're still 100 % outside of the Kingdom of Canada with all that improvement. What gets you from one kingdom into another kingdom is not tons of improvement, but one step. And Jesus, by continually telling people to follow me means that you're entering the kingdom. What he means is that becoming a Christian is not just a matter of doctrinal or ethical change and improvement, but it's a translation from one realm into another realm. I read recently where somebody, I was reading about a woman who was a scholar who had been a liberal Democrat and it said now she's converted into a neo -conservative Republican, and he used the word convert. Well, you see, I guess that's a conversion, that's a massive change, but that's not what Jesus is talking about. Most people tend to think that that's what Christianity is, that it means changing your ethics, changing your lifestyle, changing your doctrine, and of course all that is entailed. But it's something much more radical and revolutionary than that. Following Christ means you're translated from one kingdom into another kingdom. The Kingdom of God, let's remind ourselves, because a couple weeks ago we talked about this when we looked at the term, we looked at the teaching where Jesus says the Kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent bear it away. What Jesus is teaching, not necessarily right here, but throughout the New Testament, the Kingdom of God is the power of the outside world, the heavenly world, come into this world to heal it of all of its hurts. And the teaching of the New Testament, which is so radical, is that when you believe in it, comes down into your life immediately. It's like an acorn that's planted that eventually will grow and take over. The Bible tells us, Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is here now through Christ so that when you make him your savior and your king, you cross a line. And there is an immediate change. And the power of that kingdom comes in. Now it's partial. It's only spiritual. And at this point, we are not at a place where the Kingdom of God is here in its fullness. And yet, you see, what it means to be a Christian is to say that the Kingdom of God is at hand. It's here and yet it's coming. It's already and yet it's not yet. And we said a couple weeks ago, there's a certain sense in which when old Maggie Smith, you know, in the Steven Spielberg movie, when old Wendy talks to Peter Pan, who's grown up and has forgotten where he came from. And she says, Peter, the stories are true. That's the gospel. What is the gospel? The gospel is that the Kingdom of God is real. See, Peter, there is. It's true. We are going to live forever in a castle. That's what a Christian believes. We are going to fly someday. We are going to wear crowns and live in a place where there's no more decay or death. There is a Camelot. That's what a Christian believes. There is a Never Never Land, you see. There are all these things and there is a kingdom coming, which is even greater than all the fairy tales can even convey. The minute I step over the boundary from being my own savior and king to having Jesus be my savior and king, the power of that future age comes into my life now and begins to change me, begins to renovate me. It's partial, but it's real. It's come, it's here, and yet it's on its way. And Jesus says, therefore, do not think that following Christ is simply a matter of, okay, teach me what are the new beliefs I've got to teach, I've got to believe. What are the new doctrines I have to believe? What are the new ethics I have to do? It's not just that. There is a moment. There is a spot at which you take one step and you cross from one realm into a brand new realm. These men didn't understand that. They still saw following Christ as really pretty much like converting from being a Democrat to Republican or Republican to Democrat. They said, I've left my own party. I'm going to follow you. Jesus says, you have no idea yet the radical nature of what it means to follow me. To follow Christ means to come into a whole new realm. It means to enter the kingdom. Secondly, now, once you understand, say, the doctrine of the kingdom of God, the kingdom of God is something that happens to you immediately as you make Christ your savior and king instead of yourself. And we've said the doctrine of the kingdom is that it's the power of the future age. Come into our lives now, partially, but not fully. That's the doctrine. And you really can't follow Christ unless you understand that. So that's the first thing is to follow Christ is to enter the kingdom. But secondly and thirdly, Jesus is dealing here, the first man and the last two, the first man and the second and third represent two different kinds of misunderstandings of the that kingdom Jesus is heading off at the past. And he's saying to them, you can't follow me until you understand the kingdom properly. The first man doesn't understand the hardness of the kingdom. And the second and third men don't understand the greatness of the kingdom. The first man is precipitous. The second and third men are hesitant. The first man is an idealist. The second and third men are pragmatists. Neither kind of person can enter the kingdom because they misunderstand it. The one kind misunderstands the fact that the kingdom is here only partially. And when the kingdom of God comes into your life, it brings you into conflict with the world and therefore many of the things that you want, like health and status and popularity and wealth may never come to you, nor does it have to because the kingdom of God doesn't consist of those things. Idealists need to be brought down to see the hardness of the kingdom. On the other hand, the realists, the people who say, well, you know, everything is good in moderation, religion, you can't go overboard with religion, you can't, there's got to be qualifications to religion, those people don't understand the greatness of the kingdom. And those people do not understand, as Jesus points out, you must not have any conditions on your obedience or you haven't taken a step into my realm. Now I just gave you a summary, let's look at those two. First of all, you can't be a Christian if you're really an idealist. Idealistic people are not for the kingdom. They don't understand the kingdom. See this man comes to Jesus and he says, I will follow you wherever you go. This is completely different than the last two guys.

The Breakdown
A highlight from Why Post Malone Is Against CBDCs
"Welcome back to The Breakdown with me, N .L .W. It's a daily podcast on macro, Bitcoin, and the big picture power shifts remaking our world. What's going on, guys, it is Friday, August 11th, and today we are talking about everything from an SEC appeal to post Malone discussing CBDCs. Before we get into that, however, if you are enjoying The Breakdown, please go subscribe to it, give it a rating, give it a review, or if you want to dive deeper into the conversation, come join us on the Breakers Discord. You can find a link in the show notes or go to bit .ly slash breakdown pod. All right, friends. Well, at the end of this week, I got called away for some urgent, very quick travel, and so I've had to scramble my schedule a little bit. Given that, you can kind of think of today's episode as a little bit of what the weekly recap normally does, doing a sort of grab bag show of a bunch of things we haven't had a chance to talk about yet, and tomorrow I'm doing sort of a hybrid of Long Read Sunday and a weekly recap where I read a couple essays that I think were about the most important things that happened this week. Then Sunday you get a throwback Long Read Sunday that is really fun. And anyways, all of this is my way of not having to deny you shows as I traveled. So with that, let's get into this grab bag and where we're going to kick off is with the SEC and Ripple. The SEC has indicated to the court that they will seek to appeal last month's Ripple decision. If they are allowed to proceed, the regulator will ask the court's permission to appeal the parts of the decision which went against them. In a letter to the court, the SEC indicated that it would appeal, quote, the courts holding that defendants programmatic offers and sales to XRP buyers over crypto asset trading platforms and Ripple's other distributions in exchange for labor and services did not involve the offer or sale of securities under the Howey test. Now of course, you'll remember that last month's decision found that direct sales of XRP tokens to institutional investors violated securities law, while sales to retail investors through exchanges did not. This is obviously a major significant moment when it comes to the question of whether tokens are securities or not. It's so significant, in fact, that some congressmen have suggested that the notion at the core of the decision, which is that tokens can be offered in a sale that constitutes a securities offering, but that that doesn't necessarily make the tokens themselves securities, should be named after the judge who made that doctrine, i .e. the Torres doctrine. Anyways, the point is this was a big deal. The SEC are requesting what's known as an interlocutory appeal. That's an appeal that occurs over a decision partway through a legal case before it is fully decided. The regulator claimed that dealing with the appeal at this stage could save the court from dealing with two separate trials in the future. The SEC proposed that they could file a brief outlining the appeal in more detail by next Friday. Ripple has the right to respond to this letter and will similarly be able to respond to a full brief. Now separately, the judge has laid out directions for Ripple and the SEC to schedule a trial date in Q2 of next year. The trial will deal with the outstanding matters from last month's order, specifically the allegation that Ripple executives aided and abetted the company in breaching securities law. This trial will not reopen any of the issues that were already decided last month. The SEC is expected to ask for the trial to be postponed until the appeal is dealt with if they are successful in their application. Now Bloomberg senior litigation analyst Elliot Z. Stein gave a little bit of context about what happens next. Stein wrote, That of course brings up the question, will it actually happen? Paradigm policy director Justin Slaughter says he thinks yes. He tweeted, It's odd they waited until the trial schedule to appear, which is why I thought no interlocutory appeal was coming, but that likely won't prevent Judge Torres from granting the appeal request. Former lawyer Scott Chamberlain thinks the opposite. He writes, Judge Torres denies the request. She studiously avoided new law. She found the token is not the security, accepted the SEC's characterization of the transaction buckets to be analyzed, and simply applied Howie and its progeny to the SEC's chosen buckets. SEC failed because the undisputed facts didn't support all the Howie prongs for two of its three chosen transaction buckets, not because Judge Torres shifted the legal goalposts on the definition of those prongs. So next up, we're waiting to see if Judge Torres grants this request. Next up, Representative Maxine Blow a Kiss to SBF Waters is apparently concerned about PiUSD. On Wednesday, Representative Waters released a statement regarding the PayPal stablecoin announcement. She wrote that she was, PayPal instead, of course, chose to launch the stablecoin under the regulatory framework and supervision of New York State. Waters implied that the state regulation is inadequate compared to as yet hypothetical federal regulations. She wrote that, quote, Now, Waters is, of course, the ranking Democrat member of the House Financial Services Committee and has been in charge of negotiating stablecoin legislation over the past 15 months. The Republican sponsored stablecoin bill was finally passed by the committee during a tense hearing last month. In that meeting, Waters voted against the bill, but several younger Democrats defected from their party line to vote with the Republican majority. The stablecoin legislation is now eligible to be introduced for a vote on the House floor. Waters key issue with state regulation is that it removes the Fed as the final arbiter on stablecoins. During debates around the stablecoin legislation, she had said, The Republican bill undermines the Fed's role as our central bank, making it harder to protect the economy against inflation or support maximum employment if stablecoins are broadly adopted. Now, of course, Republican committee chairman Patrick McHenry does not share Waters concern that putting dollars on a blockchain will threaten to collapse the power of the strongest central bank in the world. On Monday, he remarked on the PayPal announcement by saying, This announcement is a clear signal that stablecoins, if issued under a clear regulatory framework, hold promise as a pillar of our 21st century payment system. In her statement, Waters also suggested the Republican bill had slim chances in the Democrat -controlled Senate urged Republicans to, quote, come back to the negotiating table to craft a bill that actually works. Now, Twitter response on this was about what you would expect. Castle Island Ventures partner Matt Walsh said, Maxine Waters is, quote, deeply concerned that PayPal chose the NYDFS path versus the federal path. Federal path for issuing a stablecoin literally doesn't exist. What planet are we on? Austin Campbell tweeted, Politician blocking federal legislation concern company did not file for federal license that doesn't exist because of said politician blocking legislation. You don't get to burn someone's house down and then call it a fire hazard. Next up, crypto infrastructure firm Fireblocks have disclosed a set of vulnerabilities which they are referring to as Bitforge, impacting a number of popular crypto wallets. The vulnerable wallets use multi -party computation or MPC technology, which is typically used in advanced user -facing and custodial applications. Fireblocks are classifying Bitforge as a zero -day vulnerability, meaning that it hasn't been discovered by the developers of the affected software or hackers in the wild. Coinbase, Zengo, and Binance have all collaborated with Fireblocks to fix the vulnerability within their custody systems. What's more, Fireblocks have said they reached out to other teams that might be impacted in accordance with a 90 -day responsible disclosure process. The biggest worry is that this vulnerability was found in MPC wallets, which are intended to be some of the most safe wallet designs in the world. Fireblocks said in a statement that, If left unremediated, the exposures would allow attackers and malicious insiders to drain funds from the wallets of millions of retail and institutional customers in seconds, with no knowledge to the user or vendor. Fireblocks characterized an attack exploiting the vulnerabilities would have been practical. They highlighted that the complexity of the vulnerability meant it was highly unlikely that a bad actor would have discovered the issue in advance of Wednesday's disclosure. Now MPC wallets add an extra layer of security by re -encrypting a private key and splitting it into multiple parts to be stored across multiple devices. The intention is that no single trusted device can access the crypto wallet without assistance from additional trusted parties. The Bitforge vulnerabilities would have, allowed a hacker to extract the full private key if they were able to compromise only one device, which of course would have undermined the entire multi -party security design. Overall, the whole process seems to have been a win, at least in the sense that this was discovered before it was exploited. Still, it's just a reminder that even when it comes to self -custody, things are scary out there. Now let's close with a little bit of a whistle -stop tour in the world of CBDCs. In the UK, the Bank of England has set up an advisory group for its central bank digital currency as it enters the design phase of the project. The British CBDC, which is still not officially referred to as Brickcoin, will be designed with help from a panel of experts across finance, economics, business, and more. The BOE said of the academic advisory group, In February, a consultation was conducted on the digital pound, which concluded in June. The BOE plans to run its own experimentation and design phase over the next two years, according to people familiar with the matter. The BOE will also be recruiting members for its CBDC engagement forum, which was set up to help it, quote, No word yet on whether the Orwell estate will be consulted on the CBDC design. Moving over to Russia, that country will enter a new stage of its CBDC program next week with real -world testing across 13 banks. A law authorizing the issuance of the digital ruble was signed into law last month, while the Russian central bank's testing and design process has been ongoing for over a year. In Wednesday's announcement, the central bank said, quote, The deputy governor of the central bank said that citizens should be able to access the During this pilot phase, 13 banks will test the digital ruble with a select group of their clients. The testing will focus on digital wallets, peer -to -peer transactions, purchases of goods and services using QR codes, and simple automated payments. The central bank announcement said, Now, lastly today, both on CBDCs and in general for our show, pop star Post Malone spoke extensively about what he saw as the dangers of a US CBDC in an appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast this week. Now, rather than me summing it up, let's just listen to a clip from that exchange. Apologies in advance and listener beware for the colorful language. I decided it made more sense to leave it and warn you than to censor Joe and Posty. So how do you feel about the government's digital currency that they're working on? No fucking way. No way. That's what I think. I think that's checkmate. That's game over. That is fucking checkmate. Because if they apply that to a social credit score, if they decide somehow or another that you need some social credit score system and it's for the benefit of society, and they outline that they can track your behavior and your tweets and all your things, you get a score. Already doing that. They just haven't released the fucking report cards. Well, they don't have the kind of freedom that they'd like. They didn't send the report cards home to the parents yet. Everything already is imprinted. Everything is already tracked. Everything is already there. But they just can't control you to the same extent that they would like. What they would like to do is to be able to strip you of your money and to be able to lock you down and then make sure that you comply so that all the other people also comply because they don't want to be stripped of their money. They don't want everything they work for just be taken away instantly overnight and be powerless. No one to call. No one's going to answer your phone. They just decided you fucked up and the rules are the rules and so then where does that money go? Who takes your money? When people start profiting off of confiscating people's digital currency, it's going to be a real fucking problem. It's not all fucking currency is digital. Yeah, but the idea of them controlling all of the money. And it's all unilateral. It's all the same fucking thing. That's a problem. And here's the problem I think is that people are going to do it due to convenience of it. Now one strain of commentary that I saw around this was Bitcoiners being flustered that neither of these guys mentioned Bitcoin. And while I understand where they're coming from, boy is that the wrong takeaway from this. Post Malone has 31 million followers across Twitter and Instagram. He's one of the biggest musicians in the world full stop. Rogan gets 11 million listeners per episode on average, even when it's not a huge celebrity. I think in a lot of ways this conversation about the concerns that come with the central bank digital currency is going to resonate a hell of a lot more for a lot of people given that there wasn't some specific coin solution being shilled. Now of course for us Bitcoiners, we know we have a preferred alternative, but you have to think if we're playing the long game, having people be bought into the fact that there might be a problem here is much more important than forcing them to adopt a preferred solution right away. So to the extent one cares about this set of issues, I think this was a pretty seminal pop culture moment, even if orange coin wasn't on set. Anyways guys, that is going to do it for today's episode. I appreciate you listening as always and until tomorrow, be safe and take care of each other. Peace.

Frankrijk Binnendoor
A highlight from Wijngaarden en de oudste Voie Verte van Frankrijk in Sane-et-Loire
"Bonjour! I am the founder of franquerecbinidor .nl, the website for you can see in franquerec with podcasts, blogs, road trips, insider tips, ebooks and the popular book from franquerecbinidor, where under there are regular hits. I am here with my friend Mike from my road trip and I am here to talk to you about franquerec and how it is under franquerec. In this podcast I will talk about the development of the language of russian music in the department of sauna and law. Next to me! I have been in the last year in full strength of franquerecbinidor, but I have been living with it all. In the last year I have been living with russian music in the department of sauna and law. In the year 2003, I have been living in the main streets of the bougogne, Dijon and Macon, in front of the franquerecbinidor bougogne. This year in November 2013. I am here today to talk about the streets of Sauna and Macon. I can't tell you exactly where I live, but I have been living in the main streets of the bougogne. And that place is not so slim. The streets of the city of Sauna and the city of Macon is one of the top cities in the country. The culture, the history and the history of music. And as I was 15 years old, it is one of the most fantastic. And if you live in the main streets of the city of Sauna and the main streets of the city of Macon, then it is a pleasure and an absolute honor to be able to talk more about it. I have been living in the city of franquerecbinidor for 2 years. The first time I saw the city of Sauna was in the city of Gudkend. I was an inclusionist in the city of Macon, but it was also a pleasure to be able to talk about it. And the second time I saw the city of Gudkend, photos were made in the city of Cote d 'Or and the city of Gudbong. And when I saw the city of Gudkend, I did not see the city of Gudkend. But I knew it, and I knew that I would be able to talk more about the city of Sauna. Because I knew that the city of Cote d 'Or was not only the city of Sauna, but also the city of Gudkend. What I really like about it is that it has a fantastic connection to the city of Cote d 'Or. All the time it is a pleasure to be able to talk about the city of Cote d 'Or and Macon. That is the city of Sauna. You can go to the city of Aute Vri, 50 miles away, which is just over 60 km long and it is amazing. This is the city of La Voix Bleu, in Luxembourg with Lyon. It is a great city with lots of mozzles and Sauna. In the last 50 years the city of Aute Vri has been the first city of Frank -Rijk, where it has been a long time since. Just as your land, sea and land, the city of Macon is the only city in the city of Bond. In 1876, the Kaiser, Napoleon III and the Krait were in the hands of the city of Sperbaan. In the last several years we have been in the hands of the city of Aune. Therefore, we have a ton of work to do in the city of Macon and Cluny. It is important to note that the roads in the city are still open, although the work is not open. It is important to note that the city is still open and there is no place to sleep. The last three years were the most important institutions of patria clare and in 1876, the first train to Macon and Cluny. It took 18 years for the first train to land in Saune. In 1876 people stopped and in 1929 stopped for a long time. It took 18 years for the first train to land in Saune. And the first train was the first Voorwerk of Frank -Rijk. That is more than 20 years later and the Voorwerk is now in the Netherlands for a long time. But there are more states to look out for the roads in Frank -Rijk. A Saune is located in the top of the water, where it is quite hot. When the water comes into the Saune and the water goes over the outer Spoorbahn, there is a Saume and the water goes over the Brugogne Dusseld. The combinations of these two freight trains are about 150 km long and over 20 miles per hour. It is ideal if you have a good time in the city. A lot of people think that the best route to the Saune is the best route to the Saune, but they don't know that it is the best route. The Spoorbahn is located in the middle of the Macon and the tunnel of 1600 m in Cluny. It is now the largest area of Europe. In this historic state, the rest of the central North -Pekkeike, which is far away, is not very far away. It is located in the middle of the Voorstellingen, where it is quite hot. The city is large and small, but very touristy. There are also many sites located in the museum of Trussey, but that is not the case. A lot of people think it is the best route to the Saune. is The Saune located in the middle of the Voorstellingen, where it is quite hot. The Saune is located in the Macon, but it is quite hot. It is not the best route to the Saune, but it is not the best route to the Saune. There are also many trains located in the Saune, but that is not the best route to the Saune. The Saune is located in the middle of the Voorstellingen, where it is quite hot. There are also many trains located in the Saune, but that is not the best route to the Saune. There are also many trains located in the Saune, but that is not the best route to the Saune. Like the Saune, there are also the You take the rest of the drink, you have the ...and finally reached the landscape. Some with what is called platinum ore... ...and then we got a little bit stuck in the long -term market. And as we were growing with the work... ...that is the most rustic landscape... ...and some with what is called a spore water house. In the middle of the Baysense in Jour -Lille National... ...there is a station in the city of Kapping, Perron... ...and an auto -pump for the stone locomotives. A local place for a house of a picnic in the garden. A market is a very wide market... ...and for a unit of the houses... ...there are a lot of market -sized houses... ...and very strict products. And on the other hand... ...there is the market of the East... ...and that is the market of the South. In the middle of the Buxi, you can see the local market... ...and then you can see the landscape... ...in a small, but fine middle -earth market. The market that has been used here... ...in the past several years... ...is relatively flat. I would like to show you the door to the left... ...where you can see a small market... ...in a very natural way. You can see the Moya Kamping... ...that you can see here in the middle of the Buxi. And in this area... ...you can see a very large Buxi... ...with very large houses and tunnels... ...with a very large market in the rest of the land. And if you are living in a castle... ...with a large park... ...in the middle of an outdoor area... ...then you can see the Chateau de la Fête... ...that is located on the left -hand side of the door. There are a number of different locations... ...and other locations in the middle of the land. In the link... ...you can find the article... ...on this podcast... ...and the link is in the description below. Now, Buxi is at least... ...a kilometer away from the city of Chateau de la Fête. And it is not the best... ...in the local market of the Buxi... ...but that the wine -dorp Givri... ...is a very small city. The door will be closed in a few minutes... ...and the city will be closed... ...in a short period of time. And over here... ...is the entrance to the area... ...in the middle of the city of Chateau de la Fête. And the money will be sold... ...to the wine -grater here... ...in the middle of the city of Buxi... ...and the quality of the wine... ...will be very high. That's why the wine -dorp Givri... ...is located in the middle of the door... ...and that is the zone. The town is one of the most... ...in the house of France. And that is not a miss... ...because it's a little outside... ...of the city's main port. And now, in three... ...come the city of Chateau de la Fête. And what I'm going to do... ...is to take a look at the water... ...and what you can do... ...in the middle of the city... ...of this flowing place. It is also important... ...to have a supply... ...in the centre of the town. The boat is standing well... ...but not all the time... ...in the local place. The sun fits you over a footstroke... ...or even over a trotware. But, at the same time... ...you come to the centre... ...of the town's launch zone. And under the water zone... ...you can reach the route... ...of the Vaublois -Opec... ...into Tournou and Macombe. The town is located at a distance... ...of about 60 kilometres... ...but you can get a chance... ...into Tournou... ...in two days. Tournou is the best place... ...for a touch stop... ...in this out -of -place place... ...like the N .Z. The Vauzombre... ...Mitti Siveg... ...Tusse Parais... ...and the France Alpe. And that way... ...you can have a nice meal... ...and go to all the fantastic restaurants. There's an overnight in Tournou... ...with a good combination... ...with a little bit of eating. You can also go there... ...and there are only a few... ...in the state of the town... ...and a few of the local restaurants. And it's a great day... ...to go to the airport... ...to the airport in Tournou... ...in the underground zone... ...a moment... ...and a little bit of fun. And as you enter Nübend... ...you get a chance to get... ...to the airport at the fifth floor... ...to the Vaublois... ...in Macon City. You're then... ...a nice little river... ...and a third kilometer... ...as you come by Macon. You can also go there... ...to the airport... ...and you can go there... ...and go to the RSS... ...the airport in Toulas... ...or to the next airport... ...in the sixth floor. And as you can see... ...that is the day... ...when the RSS is a good cause... ...and this is a project... ...of the former Roode National... ...which is called the NSS. It's the most important route... ...to Paris... ...and to the whole of the world... ...by the Italians. It's the most important route... ...to Paris... ...with Mont -Ton -Vebond. It's a great time for the NSS... ...not too far away... ...and it's a great day... ...to go to the airport... ...in the departmental route... ...by one of the masses... ...of Sophie and Zit. The day NSS... ...right in Macon... ...is one of the drugs... ...where you will have... ...a ton of hits... ...from the historical scene. It's the same as before... ...out of ten stations... ...that take over... ...an other function. Some sit in a bakery... ...of an amber vehicle... ...and an ankle... ...in a garage. Or come in... ...out of restaurants... ...and open a store... ...where you can also... ...see more and more... ...the tanned... ...the states... ...in which you can see it. Sometimes... ...if it's the day... ...and you're looking for... ...an option... ...from the other side... ...of the street... ...you can say that... ...what might be... ...the rest of your life. But... ...it's still a long way to go... ...and with the auto... ...you can control it. It's rare... ...when we come to... ...a rare practice... ...to take a... ...lacité... ...the climate... ...event... ...the Bologna. And if you're in a wine... ...liver by the band... ...or if you're... ...more over the wine... ...from the Bologna... ...and you're... ...not going to... ...to see the world... ...it's a top place. You can... ...go to the auto... ...care... ...and you can... ...go to the Centre of the Love. But you can... ...go there first... ...and then... ...go to another... ...in the world... ...of the wine... ...in the Bologna. This is the... ...and the most important... ...is this unique... ...museum... ...which is... ...absolutely... ...a Bologna. It's interactive... ...and digital... ...and you can... ...control a... ...a lot of... ...lungmen... ...all the... ...way... ...to the wine... ...from the Bologna. And with videos... ...and a digital landscape... ...you can see... ...in three channels... ...France, the Netherlands... ...and what you will see... ...in the world. I have a special... ...post for you... ...that you can... ...see what you can... ...see and see. And you can... ...see what videos you will see. It's very beautiful. You can... ...see what you can... ...or you can hear... ...in the wine... ...and you can... ...see what you can... ...and you can see... ...the proof of it. I have the city... ...in Bonn and Chebliogbuss... ...and it's very beautiful. And if you're not... ...motivated to come... ...to the wine... ...from the Bologna... ...then you can see... ...workshops... ...and masterclasses for it. And that's what I have... ...in front of me... ...is called the wine... ...the Bologna. Masterclasses... ...and the workshops... ...in five and a half minutes... ...are all over the place. And now you can see... ...the very state of Canada... ...that is the federal government... ...and the local government. And as you can see... ...in the video... ...you can see... ...the local government... ...the local government... ...and the history... ...of Bologna. What do you say... ...that you're on the way... ...to the Dettog... ...and you're flying around... ...with your brother? I mean... ...manual! I'm going to the 5th of June... ...in uni -2320... ...and you'll see more... ...about the departments... ...of the Alouare... ...and the homes of the Bologna... ...in the French... ...and the Bolognesian Bologna... ...on November 2, 2013. I'm Lori Adams Brown, and this is a podcast for those who are different and want to make a difference. Today starts our brand new series where we are starting to talk about emotional health and happiness. And our guest today is Becky Castle Miller. Becky is a PhD student at Wheaton College studying New Testament with Esau McCauley. And her dissertation research is about emotions in the scriptures, specifically the Gospel of Luke. She writes and speaks on emotional, mental, and spiritual health in the church. She graduated from Northern Seminary where she studied with Dr. Scott McKnight, who is a friend of the show and has been on for a couple of times. And I know many of you have read his books. She actually also has written a book with Dr. Scott McKnight, a discipleship workbook, and it's called Following King Jesus. And she is also working on another project with him. She and her husband and their five kids and cat returned to the U .S. in 2020 after living in the Netherlands for eight years where she served as discipleship director at an international church. Today we're going to dig into some issues around emotional health in the church and specifically I'm going to be asking her about her perspective on what has gone on in recent days in the Southern Baptist Convention here in the United States. There are a lot of people around the world that have been watching this, both who are in the Christian community and outside of it. We've seen a lot of things on the news lately around women pastors. There's been a lot of, I would say, very emotionally unhealthy situations that people are trying to process in the aftermath of that. So we're going to ask her perspective on that and many other things around her research and how we can learn to move forward in a more emotionally healthy way in all of our spaces, whether it's our faith spaces, just regular neighborhood community spaces, government spaces, business, education, wherever we work and live and play and find our spiritual community. Becky has something to say to us around how to welcome the emotions that we have and what her research is showing her around how we can do that better together. So I am so excited to welcome for our first guest in this new series, Becky Castle Miller. Hello, Becky, and a very, very warm welcome to you to the A World of Difference podcast today. I'm so excited to be here, Laurie. Me too. I'm glad we're finally getting to meet. Yeah. There's so much we have in common, some mutual friends and just international experience and being women in the evangelical or post evangelical church. There's just a lot of crossover in our circles. And so I'm very excited about the things we're going to talk about today and hopeful that they can help us both be emotionally healthy, spiritually healthy about these conversations, but also find some calls to action where we can come together and really make a difference. But just right out the gate, a lot of people listening to this podcast are reeling from some of the things that we all watched, either. I mean, just even on regular news channels here in the United States and even globally, things being covered around the Southern Baptist Convention this week and a lot of nuance there for many of us. But I think for women to see that women pastors were used sort of as this sort of pawn, I guess, in a lot of ways to distract from abuse of women and men, but also to have what appears to be not an emotionally or psychologically or even physically safe place for women as they kind of took this backseat to a fight by these domineering men in our news feeds. And so I would just love for, first of all, to give you the opportunity to say, how do you feel as you have been watching this yourself? And do you have any things that, as you express how you feel, would be important for us to understand about how to kind of move forward? Yeah. Well, I think Beth Allison Barr had some really good commentary. So I would point people to her substack. She is formerly Southern Baptist, and so she's a little bit more connected to that world personally than I am. I've never been in a Southern Baptist church. I've been in many, many diverse churches and some kind of non -denominational, loosely Baptist, but never Southern Baptist. So it feels a little removed from me directly. So people like Beth Allison Barr are great to speak into that. One of my biggest concerns is Rick Warren's posturing of himself as this late convert to supporting women, but not really supporting vulnerable women. He put out a statement before the convention that he's changed his mind on women pastors, but I think he's still withholding eldership from women. And yet at the same time, he appointed a successor at Saddleback who has some pretty serious allegations of abusive leadership from his former church. And that has not been satisfactorily addressed. So there's a disconnect there between what Rick Warren says he wants to be as a champion for women, and yet he seems to be turning a blind eye or intentionally maybe even covering up abuse. So that's one concern I have about the stories coming out of the convention. I am glad that Barber won the presidency because he's a marginally better candidate than the other guy. But Barber has really been a lot of talk and not a ton of decisive action against abuse, and he is still against women in embracing their full ministry gifts. So it's like some small victories, but yet also it's been a platform for women to be demeaned publicly, like just to hear so many negative and critical things said about women in ministry. So I understand why a lot of women are leaving Southern Baptist churches, and I think that's actually a really healthy decision for those who make that choice. Yes, amen to that sister. Yeah, you know, having walked through abuse at the hands of Andy Wood, that is Rick Warren's successor, and at Saddleback, and, you know, being not the original whistleblower because there were two before me in the news last summer, but, you know, also knowing because I don't have an NDA, right, and my husband doesn't either, we refuse our NDA tied to severance and medical insurance. And so that's, you know, why I can speak, but I just personally know so many stories, and I know the stories that we told to the faux investigation at Saddleback last summer, and I say faux because a hiring agency is not a third -party investigation that just happens in a couple of days, you know, that needs months, it needs grace ministries, it needs a Wade Mullen, or it needs somebody with an expertise in, you know, something like an evangelical church with abuse allegations that are credible, and, you know, and their image management around that, you know, that's definitely something that's a specialty. And so when you're not willing to do the substantial work, I think that what I saw at Saddleback was, unfortunately, oddly consistent with what I've seen in Southern Baptist as a whole. I was a Southern Baptist for 45 years, right? I was a missionary kid all my life, and I married a missionary kid who was a Southern Baptist, too, and went to Southern Baptist University, went to Southern Baptist Seminary, worked as an IMB would at his previous church, Echo Church, before Saddleback, and walking through that, you know, multiple different types of abuse, you know, emotional abuse, physical, psychological, not physical, sorry, that does exist in the stories, but not mine. But I think that understanding emotional abuse, psychological abuse, spiritual abuse is a conversation to have in the church, but also in our society at large, and I think it's an opportunity for us to lead the way. And I think that it was not shocking that Saddleback was kicked out. I think that what is sad is that they were kicked out for women pastors and not for abuse, and therefore, Rick Warren and Andy Wood, you know, Andy being my abuser and Rick Warren being the one that covered up my abuse, and that of many others, are seen now as heroes and martyrs for the cause of women. And, you know, that was sort of disturbing to watch, even though I'm not a part of the Southern Baptist anymore. So I also, I love the work Beth Allison Barr is doing. I think many of us calling from the outside for women to be free, and also warning them about the places to go and silent complicity in bystanders and watching abuse happen to women over the years might be tempted to believe a Rick Warren or an Andy Wood if they start some new denomination or whatever happens in the wake of all this and whatever the point of all this was, to just be warned that there are some faux egalitarian spaces out there, and that's the conversation that's really going to be helpful, I think, going forward. I'd love for you to tell us more, though, about your research around emotions. We don't often talk about that, and I think what you're doing is really fascinating. You're doing research in the emotions of the Gospel of Luke. What led you to this particular era of study, and how is it relevant even to the conversation we're having right now? Yeah, I feel like I have dual interests in abuse and trauma and healing from those things and emotional health, and they're often viewed as two separate issues, but they overlap really significantly. They interweave with each other. Of course, they are different academic fields. You can do a dissertation in abuse. You can do a dissertation in trauma. You can do a dissertation in emotions, which is what I'm doing, but I'm hoping to bring those conversations together a little bit in my dissertation. I just finished my first year at Wheaton College in a PhD in New Testament, which is fantastic, and I really appreciate Wheaton supporting me in doing a multidisciplinary dissertation. So it is a New Testament project, but I'm leaning really heavily on some neuroscientific and psychological models of emotion, which is one thing that's been lacking in biblical studies is really the latest scientific research on emotion, so I'm excited to get to do that work. So I'm going to be taking some trauma and neuroscience classes in the counseling school and in the neuroscience department to supplement my New Testament work, and then I'm also hoping to bring in the impact of trauma and abuse on emotions. We'll see. It's only one dissertation, but I think those are really important aspects. When we look at emotion in the Gospels, we're looking at the emotions of an oppressed and traumatized people who are drawing on the history of oppressed and traumatized peoples over hundreds and thousands of years. So the emotions that Jesus' disciples learned from their culture are drawing from a culture of oppression, repeated you know, the slavery in Egypt and the Exodus, the Babylonian captivity, and release from that, and then in their current day, the occupation by the Romans. So I think we have to consider what impact trauma might be having on the emotions that they're constructing. When I did an analysis this past year on the emotions mentioned in the Gospel of Luke, I found 158 instances of emotion, and it depends how you categorize them, but so many of those instances were talking about fear. Jesus and angels are saying over and over again, don't be afraid. Don't be afraid. Well, why do they need to say don't be afraid? Perhaps it's because they're talking to people dealing with hypervigilance who are constantly feeling afraid in their bodies because they live in dangerous circumstances. So I think fear is a big component of gospel emotions. Jesus also talks about worry or anxiousness, and he talks about terror. So it's just a lot going on with fear -based emotions in the Gospel of Luke, and I think that the trauma of the people he's serving might have something to do with that. So that's one angle that I'm hoping to take, and we'll see where the rest of it goes. I think your work is so fascinating and so needed. I mean, you and I both spent time overseas, and so we understand in different cultures people express their emotions very differently. I was just in Abu Dhabi and Dubai earlier this year in March, and it's not the first time I've been to anywhere in North Africa in the Middle East, but we largely know that the way emotions are expressed in Middle Eastern culture versus white evangelical North American culture or even the Dutch, like very different expressions, right? And so we read sometimes things from the lens of maybe sitting in, I don't know, Wheaton, Illinois, right, with a bunch of white people around us reading it in a particular English translation, and we read things like sackcloth and ashes. Well, that's weird, you know, or with these like imprecatory Psalms that are just so full of like, wow, like, can we pray those things? Like, that's a lot. It's just, you know, we have books, you know, like Pete Scazzero's Emotionally Healthy Discipleship. We have all these things that are just, there's things that are happening right now, and the call to more lament, you know, the call to look back in our history and ask God to forgive us for our sins, not individually, but as a people. How have we been complicit? How are we currently complicit in abuse in the SBC, in racism, in what is, you know, started under racism because of, you know, enslaved peoples on forced labor camps, and how have those decisions, the root of that, produced the fruit of lording over and dominating people for the purpose of white male supremacy or patriarchy and things that are not helping any of us. So when we dig into emotional health as individuals, we have to look at it collectively too, and I think that our Western individualistic culture really makes it hard. We're very, we have a lot of blind spots if we only stay there. So the global church has really taught me so much about this. I'm so excited that you're studying under Esau McCauley. It's such a great opportunity for you. As you look into some of this area of emotional, mental, and spiritual health in the church, what are some common challenges that you find or misconceptions that you've come across, and maybe how could churches better address these issues? There's a lot of misunderstanding of emotion in just typical church conversation, and there's also a lack of knowledge of trauma, and those intersect again as well.

Mountcastle hits 3-run HR, Orioles go deep 3 times to beat Blue Jays 6-2
"Baltimore sock three home runs to pace them to a 6 two one over Toronto. What Rogers center? Raya mount castle had the big blow a three run shot in the third off starter and losing pitcher yusuke, his tenth of the season. It had the benefit you can get pictures of hit against him and it seems like he's been doing pretty well this year and just getting a good pitch hit against him today was big. It was mount Kelso's fourth career home run off the Toronto left 8. Anthony Santander with his 8th that Adam Fraser with his 5th also went yard for the visitors. Kyle Gibson went 7 innings and won it. He improves his record to 5 and three. John leathery, Toronto

"After it. I love those days. Don't get me wrong. I love those days. I want more of those days. I want more days in a row where I'm back to back winning, where I'm on fire, where literally everything I touch turns to gold. I want those days. Fine. Call me the Midas touch. Call me success range. That's what I want. But that's not reality. Reality is there's overwhelm. There's pressure. There's kids. There's problems. There's challenges. And it's all coming at you like a fire hose. And you've got energy levels and you've got distractions and you've got society telling you what you should and shouldn't be doing. And you've got a family and you've got people and you've got a partner and you've got voices and noise and everything around you. Right. And then you've got your own self. Right. And you've got your own goals and you see it and you're not where you want to be. And you feel demotivated. You feel depressed. You feel sad. You feel like a victim, all of that. And that is going to knock you off course. And I say this with the most graciousness and heart behind it. If you can change yourself and change yourself to become a machine at that exact moment and say, no, I will not give in to these emotions. I will not let these emotions dictate what I stand for, which is my values. I will not let these feelings control what I do. I control me and I'm going to the gym right now. And even if I don't feel like it, I'm going to work harder. I'm going to give joy to myself. I'm going to give to myself because I value my self worth. I value my self respect. I have respect for myself. And so if I need to take time off to have a massage, I'm going to do it because I'm feeling overwhelmed. I'm going to do the things that are going to get me to the result that I want. And I'm not going to stop until I get there because I want that so bad. I want that result so bad. And I'm all in on getting it and I do whatever it takes. And that's the difference. That's the difference between what changed from a decade ago, Tim, to now. It's the ability to do the things when I don't want to. It's understanding how much my self worth, my self esteem, being able to trust myself is important. My integrity with myself, my promises to myself and my self confidence around that, the standard and the people that I allow to have influence over my life, the standard that I have for my life, and then this ability to just double down on the days that I don't want to do it. And if you can do that, if you're having a hard time right now, if you're struggling, just do it for five minutes, just do it for five minutes and give to yourself, right? Because you're benefiting yourself, whether it's dropping down and giving yourself push ups, pull ups, going for a run, putting some inspiring music on, whatever it is, if you've had a tough day and people have been screaming at you, you've had argument, you've had a tough day at work with your boss, you've had a tough day with your partner, with your family, give to yourself, build yourself back up, make sure that you're okay, give yourself self love, get that massage, put the meditation music on, light a candle, get the aromas going around, do something that you know, puts you in a good space, physiologically. So you change your state. So you change how you're operating, because the trick here is, is that when we default to lower value behaviors, when we default to things that are throwing us off course, when we default to not sticking to the program and not doing what it takes to win, not doing what it takes to hold our standard high, it's because we've given in, it's because we've moved towards that lower vibe. So you need to change your physiological state. You need to change the energy, the vibration in you so that you can raise up and you can elevate and you can stay high. It could be as simple as, I used to walk around smiling my ass off before going into meetings, right? If there was someone I didn't want to meet, I wasn't looking forward to meeting, I would smile all the way to me. Even if I didn't feel like it, I would force a smile. I'd look like a lunatic walking around, like not feeling it, but my body would feel it. It would have to feel it because I'm physically doing the thing that is causing my body to respond in a certain way, which is neutralizing my emotions back down to a higher vibe state, going up from low to high. I'd put something on that's funny. I'd be around people that are the right energy in the right environment. And I put myself physically with them because I value me and I value getting back into that state as quickly as possible. If I messed up, right? Say I did something for the first time. And it'd been a long time since I did an interview or a podcast and I wasn't happy with it. Say I was getting interviewed by someone really important. And this interview has the potential to get me hundreds or hundreds of thousands or even millions of downloads. Say it's that kind of interview and say I wasn't happy with my performance. I went in, did the interview and I walked out just feeling about 50 % happy with my performance. Do I lambast myself and judge myself and then do behaviors that take me further away from my goal, like eating junk food, going out and partying, going out and drink, doing whatever it is that takes me away from my goal because I'm punishing myself for this thing that I didn't do. I failed to meet my standard. Or do I look at it and go, hey, all that is is feedback. All it's telling me is I need to grow in that area and I should probably do more of that. And great. I got that out to the world and hopefully it helps someone. Hopefully what I said and what I did in my performance was good enough to touch some lives and help some people. And who cares if I don't get the result that I desired, which was lots and lots of downloads or the connection with the presenter or whatever. We put it out. We try again. And it's feedback. It's feedback for growth and saying, hey, maybe you want to do 10 of them in a week. Get back up to your normal performance. Get back up to your normal standard. That's all it's telling me. And then leave that where it is. Don't go over it and go, hey, you're rubbish at this or hey, this means this. It doesn't. Don't put the story on it and don't let it affect what you do on a daily basis. Keep the consistency. So what I do is I go, hey, cool. Thanks for the feedback. That's a great idea, Tim. Let's do more of them. Let's just double down on that. That's something we can improve on. Let's get better. Let's say be thankful for what we managed to do and put that out to the world. And hopefully that that gets a good response and gets people moving, gets them where they need to go. And hopefully I shared some insight that can help people. And then we double down and we do more. We podcast more and we do interviews more and we process it and we we just we train for it back into training. Let's get some growth. And the biggest thing here is that the next day when I wake up, I'm not focused on that. I'm not going to put my energy over there. Which is where I feel would have been pulled towards if I didn't have the strategies and the self image of someone that gets up and executes. So it's the days that you don't feel like it that you've got to do the most. You've got to give the most to yourself in terms of self -love. And you've got to do the most to keep on track, to do the things that, you know, are going to bring you value in your life for you, your family, your partner, and are going to benefit you long term because we go long term here. It's the short term stuff that gives you long term success. And this is why you don't focus on the result, because if you focus on the weekly or even the monthly results, sometimes you're going to get deflated because that's not what you're doing for. You're doing it for the process. You're doing it to show up. You're doing it for the consistency. You're doing it for who it is and being integrity with yourself on what you want for your life, because, you know, this is the path to take and these actions will get you to your desired result. And this is the person that you are. And because you do it consistently day in, day out, whatever's happening, whether it's raining, sunning, screaming, shouting, big, little, small, sad, happy, whatever you are, fulfilled, unfulfilled, demotivated, motivated, whether you do it day in, day out, it's just who you are. And that's where you find true love for yourself. That's where you find this balance between going after it, pushing into new territory and being able to handle new territory unknown, because you're stepping out of your comfort zone and you're going into a growth zone. But because you do things when it is challenging, that's just how you operate. So then you find it easier to go into your comfort, out of your comfort zone and into your growth zone and expand your barriers. You find it easier to stay present in difficult and complex conversations. You find it you're not a slave to your emotions because you've mastered how you show up on a day to day basis. And long term, when you do this day in and day out, you have success and it builds and it starts to show it's a bit like a plant growing. It starts to show up slowly, slowly, slowly, slowly. And then it turns into an oak tree, but it can't turn into an oak tree overnight. Can't turn into an oak tree overnight. It takes years. It has to mature through self -awareness. It has to build the strength to take more weight, to carry a heavier load, to withstand more storms. And it's the storms. It's the storms that make it stronger. I talk about this in my book. And then some sales model when they made a utopia in a bubble, they put all the plants and they wanted to recreate the world and they put the plants in and they made this flora and fauna, but they forgot to put in the elements. And so these plants grew and they grew really, really tall. They grew really, really higher than they did on earth. They grew really, really high, really amazing. But then as soon as they turned on the natural elements, they flopped down because they didn't have the roots. They didn't have the structure. They didn't have the strength. They hadn't had the growth through the elements over the lifetime of that plant growing, that tree growing for it to build the strength. And so the strength is there because it the snow, the sleet, the storms that raged around it, and it carried on anyway. And so that's the same for you. If you're facing struggle, you're facing times of anxiety, high stress, overwhelm, and you're thinking about deviating to a lower form of what you could become, really grasp onto it and just do five minutes. Just do five minutes. Give yourself that gift, whatever it is, just do the behavior that you know is going to lead to your success in the future. Do that success activating behavior, change those self images through the behaviors you're doing. So these are success activating behaviors is a self identity based behaviors that you're changing. And when you do them consistently, and you go through the storm on the days, you don't feel like it, you build that strength, you build that muscle, you build the ability to carry a bigger load, and to carry on. And so it becomes just the norm, becomes how you operate, becomes how you operate. And when you operate at that level, you're a machine, you become dangerous for yourself because you're like, yes, bring it, bring it, contest yourself, you can feel yourself when you're really ready to go, you let's run up that mountain. Why not? Let's go for it. So you start asking for more, you have to ability be responsible to yourself, and to be accountable, and to take action. And that is just such a beautiful place to be. So if you're going through it, remember that it's super possible for you that you're one move away from doing this, that you don't have to be restricted by your emotions. And even though they feel really real right now, and they feel like, this is what you want to express that you want to give up that you want to be angry that you want to feel worried about something that you would just one thought, one decision, one action away from changing your physiological state to bring you back in alignment with who you could become, and your best version of you. And I want that for you. I want you to understand that that in that moment, you have a choice to make and you can make it that you can be more in that moment. And when you do, you're doubling down on yourself and you're giving yourself self love. So this is how we get it. Anything worth having takes struggle. It doesn't come easy, right? I was everybody would have it. And so that's why choosing not to go down the easy road and choosing to stay on the hard road and to stick with it and to have consistency and build it into your life wins over time. And you start to see it over time. So don't look for the external result. The result is already within the result is already happening while you sticking with your process with you sticking and being in integrity with what you value the principles and what you're going for. Write down your goals every day. Make sure they're front of mind. Make sure you're brainstorming ideas on how to achieve them. Write them down so they become a part of you. These goals should be so intrinsic to who you are. They should really fuel you and get emotionally connected to them with positive emotion. How will it feel when you've achieved your goal be and live in that essence, and then make decisions from that places is such a different way of living. But he's showing up on those days and knowing how to turn those days around that don't start off how you want. And to deliver your own testimony in those days, your own story and to rewrite your legacy and to carry on to carry on and to show the world what you're made of. So go out there today. Take this with you and attack the day.

And so that's why choosing not to go down the easy road and choosing to stay on the hard road and to stick with

"We default to lower value behaviors, when we default to things that are throwing us off course, when we default to not sticking to the program and not doing what it takes to win, not doing what it takes to hold our standard high, it's because we've given in, it's because we've moved towards that lower vibe.

Uk has Big Lunch and Windsor concert following coronation Saturday
"A weekend long celebration of the coronation of King Charles the third continues with luncheons held throughout the UK and a concert at Windsor Castle. The festivities continue to support the newly crowned monarch, even as many have questioned the relevance of The Crown, and the cost of such a spectacle at a time when living costs are so high. The gilded spectacle of the king being crowned in an ancient religious ceremony at Westminster Abbey the day before takes a more down to earth turn, with picnics and street parties being planned across the UK. Events conclude with a concert featuring Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and the boy band that take that in the grounds of Windsor Castle. Charles De Ledesma, London

Fighting Back Against Rogue Regulators
"All right, Friends, well, today we are really picking up on the theme of 2023 so far, which is as it turns out not just fallout from FTX, but specifically, the emergence of a dramatic regulatory battle around crypto in the United States. I think many of us felt that this was inevitable coming off of the events of last year, but it is playing out in very specific ways, which I think demands specific responses. We're going to read one essay in a couple of threads today, and we start with a piece by Michael Casey from coin desk called regulating crypto by enforcement and stealth will set the U.S. back. Michael writes, call me naive, but I've always resisted the conspiracy theory that the anti crypto stance adopted by certain U.S. regulators is meant to strangle this industry and protect the financial establishment it seeks to disrupt. I've preferred to see it as a wrong headed but well intended effort to protect consumers. Recent events have me wondering if something more sinister isn't afoot, and that maybe I am naive. First, all indications are that the securities and exchange commission will outright prohibit companies from providing staking services to retail customers in the U.S. products that give investors an opportunity to share and the token rewards that proof of stake blockchains delivered a validators. Following a hint from coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, that's such a band was coming, news broke that in response to an SEC lawsuit, coinbase competitor kraken is indefinitely abandoning the staking service it offered to U.S. customers and paying a $30 million fine. Second, per observations from castle island ventures general partner Nick Carter and blockchain association chief policy officer Jake stravinsky, and evident in other signs such as binance's problems with U.S. dollar bank transactions, it seems regulators are pushing U.S. banks to stop surfacing crypto companies. These latest moves will make it even harder for average U.S. citizens to participate in this industry. Limiting it to large institutional investors, while various innovative startups look to disrupt those same rent seeking intermediaries will struggle to access liquidity. It's hard to understand how these actions serve to protect consumers or further other policy objectives such as expanding financial inclusion. It feels as if government agents are deliberately trying to force this industry into the hands of Wall Street fat cats.

Crypto Is in Its 'Then They Fight You' Phase
"Is a famous if apocryphal phrase. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you. Then they fight you and then you win. If you've been paying attention to crypto over the last few weeks, particularly the signals being sent to the industry from regulators. You may have gotten the distinct idea that we've entered into the then they fight you stage. On Tuesday, February 7th castle island ventures Nick Carter tweeted, I don't want to alarm, but since the turn of the year, a new operation choke point type operation began targeting the crypto space in the U.S.. It is a well coordinated effort to marginalize the industry and cut off its connectivity to the banking system, and it's working. Then last night, Wednesday, February 8th, coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong lit the industry up with his tweet accusing the SEC of trying to get rid of retail staking in the U.S.. All in all, I think this is a moment that really demands more context. So what we're going to do today, and I think this is going to end up being a two parter, is go through some key events organizations and personalities to try to better bring you up to speed on why it feels like there is a slow, bureaucrat driven squeeze on the American crypto industry. Specifically, we're going to dig into the recent history of a key bank regulator in the United States. The office of the comptroller of the currency. In order to understand why one, the fear of banks is a vehicle for crypto contagion to spread to the traditional system is rising and consequently to why cutting off access to banks is becoming one of crypto opponents key tools. And here before we get into the recent history, let's start with the quick 2023 timeline of the squeeze. It's important to note that the specific vector for this attack that's emerging is the U.S. banking system. Since the beginning of the year there has been an arming escalation in actions taken against banks that work with crypto industry firms. On January 3rd, the fed, the FDIC, and the OCC released a joint statement on the risks to banks who engage with the industry. While it didn't explicitly ban banks from touching crypto, it's strongly discouraged them from doing so, citing quote safety and soundness concerns.

"I have a responsibility to peace. What does that mean? It means that I wake up in the morning, people are calling, texting, and inviting me here, inviting me there. I have an opportunity. I have a choice, very important word. I have a choice to decide. Who and what and where I want to go. What do I want to experience in my day? Because you're inviting me doesn't mean I want to show up because you're calling me doesn't mean I'm going to call you back. Because you want me to be there, doesn't mean that I want to be there. Because we're family because we're friends because we grew up together doesn't mean that I want to be a part of any and everything that you want me to be a part of. Why? Because my experience with you hasn't necessarily made me feel good about my life or my experience at the end of every night. Because you go to sleep at night, doesn't mean you're resting. Because you close your eyes at night and you are sleep physically doesn't mean that you're actually resting. And the reason that you don't rest is because while you're awake, everything and everybody that's in and around your life is so full of issues, problems, insecurities, dysfunction, negativity, your mind and your spirit as turmoil. Issues, problems, all of this is going on. All day, every day, so when you go to sleep at night, you're not resting.

If you love yourself, why would you those type of people? You know what they're saying about you behind your back? You know they're jealous and envious of who you are and the things that you got going on in your life and your career. You know that they don't like you and they made it clear they've sent you every sign imaginable that they could possibly send you and because you're so desperate to have people around you and in your life you continue to go back. You continue to show up to everything they invite you to, knowing what they're saying

"And I also want you to know that the fact that you're still alive is still on this earth, even though it's been challenging and rough, and sometimes you get discouraged and uninspired to keep going. God has a plan. You will grow through what you go through. Everything that you're going through at some point, it makes no sense to you right now. But at some point, God is going to reveal to you why all of these issues, challenges, and problems continue to show up and what she was supposed to learn from it. You will grow through what you go through. See, your problem in life ain't if you aim too high and you miss it. Your problem in life is if you laying aim too low and you hit it, that's what you messed up now. So when you aim to the moon and you miss, you steal amongst the stars. So it kind of keeps you motivated a lot longer, man. To help you push through. Because everybody's gonna have to have a push through moment. Because everybody has a turn back though. The key to making it is you can never turn it back. See God is always coming. When you ask God for something, God boxes it up. Put your name on it, and he ships it the day you ask for it. As soon as you ask for it, he ships it. The problem with the package is, he never tells you the date that it's going to arrive. If he did that, it would destroy the one element that he requires. No fate. So God sends your package, but he only delivers to faith street. If you step off a fake street and you go over here to I don't believe it, boulevard. He don't ship that. If you step over here to I don't see how avenue, he don't ship that. If you step over here to ain't no way circle he don't ship that. The package only goes to face treat. What happens to the average person is that when the package arrives and you ain't on face street, it's just like a post office and FedEx UPS. If you ain't dead, package

"Shares with your friends and family as word of mouth is our best advertisement and you have helped us so much. We've grown so much in the last three years so this is pretty much our three year anniversary episode. It is yeah i mean. It's coming up on on halloween. So it's an easy anniversary to remember absolutely especially for a paranormal podcasts. Yeah and Man it's been a great journey. I've enjoyed every single step of it. Even the haters haters going to hate right I'm not saying that everyone is a hater. That disagrees with me though. Because i think that sometimes it is either love and sometimes it is out of respect that that is as long as there's no name calling. It's all good. I agree totally but there has been named calling and has been far stuff on iron and You know. I just wanna think everyone. And before i forget. I want to wish everyone a happy. Halloween unhappy sawan for those that celebrated in that way and happy Veil of the world is at. Its thinnest whatever you wanna call different names for that. So yes and we've got dead. They more at this coming. So i'll have been so many And we've lost a lot of people Over the last. Couple of years. So i think it's that's an important one to I think it you know. It's good to take time to honor the dead. Yeah definitely yeah. Sorry if i if. I interrupted you. Happy halloween to everybody and happy anniversary to us. It has been an amazing ride and we have so many fun fun things planned for the future. Apso stated absolutely okay. So let's go over some of the previous polls. Yeah let's see where we're at all right. Okay so we're going to go back to. Let's actually go to enfield first since that's the furthest back So last time you were winning this one In have been fifty fifty a no. Do i was winning at one point But yeah let's see where we're at so we've got yes. Forty eight point four percent and no one point six so yeah i don't know so an overall of four point seven one. Yeah yeah so again go back. Vote if you haven't yet we want to hear your voice probably have another week. I'm gonna say probably are so we'll we'll we'll we'll see but yeah i get in there just in case i mean this one has been open for more than a m- month at this. Yeah i think. I might be closing it out soon. Yeah so definitely. Get your voted Conway castle we've got yes for fifty four point five percent and no forty five point five percent and overall a five point one four okay us on the side of haunted for that one. Everybody so i think that you're you're expecting bigger numbers than were ever going to see. Know i love that. We're like i the longer we leave stuff up the more fifty fifty. It seems no no no. I'm saying the overall rating you're you're expecting to see bigger numbers than that but it's it's two different opposing views. That are giving numbers. So if one gives attended one gives a one. Then it's a five right. So but am i wrong to say that. We're unjust the side of the haunted. If it's five point one four. I think you are because i think that You're never gonna see an eight so take that out of the equation saved so it's clearly obviously haunted. Because they gave it a five point one four said. It's just this side of haunted meeting. it's just a little bit on the haunted side instead of like four point. Whatever it's five point. Whatever just over the hud personally don't think five is the median. Believe it's more like three.

I believe it's really haunted. I'm saying the blog is called really haunted. Take some soundbites of days. And and have me saying brian castle is really that bad. You don't do the editing. ra guy. So i am gonna give this. One is six. So it's not quite as up. There is the The other investigators but But no i honestly like i. This was just a piece that i picked but there were there were many That could have and There's been a lot of Paranormal investigator even recently There and i'm sorry but this place too old too much war too much torture. Too much stuff again. I don't know that we know exactly the names of the ghosts that are there but no part of me anyways. I should save some of this from my closing argument but well rebecca would you say that this is paranormal investigator often It's it's seems like it. i mean at least somewhat frequently but wouldn't that increase the amount of of bad intentions and exploitation. So i don't view the world as like full of negative people. Like i mean so you could look at that a couple of ways right like you could say that it would increase your chances of getting people who might fake evidence but you could also say that because it is a place with so much paranormal activity. Investigators are drawn to it because they actually get results. They actually do experienced things there. So i mean it. I think that's a hard call to make. I don't know it's like a fifty fifty kind of thing there. It's like. I mean if you you know if one out of every fifty investigations. are fraudulent And you you know. Do five hundred investigations. That's a lot more than someplace you would do. Twenty investigations and you know. It's like i don't know so. Yeah it's like trying to weigh it out. There are right So your overall rating rebecca some overall rating is gonna be is going to be a six. It's not the highest that i've been But i.

"The garrison were all killed. Wow so again. We have a little bit of a trojan horse. yeah situation. I mean this. In this case it wasn't just two guys taking a whole castle like we had last week. Yeah let conway. But we'll come on. We didn't have as many men. I mean i believe what they believe. They always had at least three hundred men in in edinburgh out. Yeah it could be more than that. But at least three hundred data i in the early fifteenth century. Another english invasion this time under henry. The fourth reached edinburgh castle and began a siege but eventually withdrew due to lack of supplies during the fifteenth century. The castle was increasingly used as an arsenal and armament factory. Okay and they actually Bought the first gun there. Oh okay in like thirteen. Something i forget ner. Maybe it was fourteen something. I don't know yeah. It was kinda crazy So king james the fifth still only five years old was brought to the castle for safety does not seem like a safe place. I'm going to be honest with you. like so like six years later the side came and took it back and then another use later. These other side came in take took it back. Seems like a very war torn castle yet but it would take less men to defend him there than it would in any other spot and if they were out for him because he was the monarch then yeah it would want to protect him And he survived. Okay so upon his death twenty five years later. The crown passed to his week old daughter so he was five years old right when he became king and the next one became king after one week of being born or queen. Yeah and that was mary. Queen of scots. You've heard of her before right. English invasion followed as king henry. The eighth attempted to force a dynastic marriage on on scotland. I mean i'm sure we could spend a lot of time. Go delving deep into this history but the super interesting part of there's a lot of movies out there on this stuff. Oh yeah yeah. Yeah and her sister. Elizabeth the first and stuff yeah So mary queen. Scott spent most of childhood in france while scotland was ruled by regions and in fifteen fifty eight. She married the dauphin of france. Mary was queen consort or france from his from his accession into fifteen fifty nine until his death. In december fifteen sixty widowed. Mary returned to scotland. Arriving in leith on august nineteenth fifteen sixty one four years later. She married her half cousin. Henry stuart lord darnley and in june fifteen sixty six. They had a son james. She gave birth to him at an inn. Borough castle He would later be king of both scotland and england. Wow so yeah there's been a lot of english royalty at edinburgh castle's or definitely as well as scottish royalty. In sometimes they were both exactly mary. Queen of scots and all the events. It's rounded this time. Period makes modern day politics. Look like some kind of pleasure cruise. I mean she saw her husband was. Her husband was executed in. She married the person that was suspected. As organizing the execution and then her enemy actually switched sides and held the castle in in her name. it was called the laying siege. Okay We could do full series of episodes just on the history of edinburgh castle. But i think it's safe to say that there was just a lot of turmoil that happened throughout the years and in later years it was used as a prison where several executions took place This is my favorite part of the history. Statues of the bruce and william wallace were added to the gatehouse entrance in nineteen. Twenty nine their current. Currently one of the first things that you see when you go to edinburgh castle and that is one of my memories. I remember looking up william wallace. That's it was amazing and it's well done well done statue. Edinburgh castle is located at the top of the royal mile. I know you're gonna talk about the royal mile a little bit. Yeah and at the west end of an edinburgh old town. The volcanic rock offers a naturally defended position which sheer cliffs to the north and south and steep ascent from the west. The only easy approach is from the town to the east and the castle's defences are situated accordingly with a series of gates protecting the route to the summit of of castlerock. And one thing that i talked to you about is it is like a is kind of like a spiral staircase when you go in there. Yeah yeah it's a it's a it's it's a walk. Oh yes it is there. It is a lot of exercise if you know if you go there and you're constantly going up. I wonder if anybody's ever taken a skateboard at the top and went down. That sounds scary. Yeah i would die. And i'd probably have to haunt the place. I'm definitely gonna look if i can find some of my pictures I was there in the springtime and there are beautiful daffodils Spring flowers all over the green part of the gasol rock castle rock and it was beautiful. Yeah i bet. I was there in the summer so i mean it was still nice but it was hot yes it. Umbro castle sees over a million visitors each year at. It's it's a major tourist attraction direct administration of the castle by the war office came to an end in nineteen o five and in nineteen twenty three. The army formerly moved to. The city's new redford barracks. Nevertheless the castle continues to have a strong connection with the army and is one of the few ancient castles in britain. That still has a military garrison albeit for largely ceremonial and administrative purposes Public duties performed by the garrison include guarding the honors of scotland And arm century. Stand watch at the gatehouse outside opening hours. The post of governor of edinburgh castle is now a ceremonial post head by the general officer. Commanding scotland cool. And i think this is where the crown jewels are. Right for. scotland sky. Read yeah. I mean obviously the british and then sometimes they're held there. Okay gotcha. Sometimes they go on tour ashore. Sure i'll museums. Yeah they kind of do that stuff. But there's definitely I remember a lot of scottish history to to be seen. They're exposed to walk around and kind of see the itself. It is the equivalent of england's tower of london where they have the crown jewels. There's right and i. I do remember actually seeing the crown jewels of scotland. When i was there. I did as well. Okay yeah cool. All right. You have anything else to add. No no and just to people that we were not there at the same time. No no no. I didn't know you know we do not know each other. Then i was there in the year. Two thousand. I knew you're gonna do that but when i was there i was there in ninety seven. Wow abe believe so like three years. Old ben yes exactly yup see. So i am not sure that we've ever done something with this long of a history before i moved in with a lot of history but like as far as time. Yeah time goes. Yeah and i'm not gonna do the complete edinburgh castle history. Because i mean seriously we could be doing this for like ten episodes. Yeah we're still not run out of material or not hardcore history. great podcasts. By the way the you don't listen to but i do. I have listened to it. Oh have you okay. I think it's really good. The location where edinburgh castle stands has been in use by humans since at least the iron age. Did you know that no So although we don't really know much about its early history. An archaeological excavation in the early nineteen nineties uncovered evidence of the site having been settled during the late bronze age or early iron age potentially make making the castle rock which is where. The castle stands the longest continuously occupied site in scotland. How i thought that was really interesting. That is so something. I didn't know when i visited the castle. And i don't know if you knew this rebecca but the key but castlerock where it stands as i said is an old extinct volcano. No idea no idea but it makes sense now that i know that oh absolutely you can tell it looks 'cause it's a hill but it's not. It's not a hill. No it's it's like a mountain it's serious but it looks like a looks like a volcano like now that you say that that makes sense to me in the summit of castle rock is four hundred thirty feet above sea level. "And go. I do believe the conway castle is haunted. It has been around for seven hundred plus years so much has happened there Lots of generations and Different kinds of you know even before that it was the monastery and then being a soldiers. They're having prisons there. You know I do think that a lot of people have felt connected to that land into that castle and so there is some residual energy there. I think the incense seems seems like something potentially And then i can't hack. It's hard for me to ignore the photo and the voice As being something showing that there is a bit of paranormal there But it's not as extreme as i thought it would be based on The kind of build up to it but still seems like a great place to go. And i'd love to Investigate it our right. you're done. I finished three seconds early. Rebecca l. Wow that's a. I know it's not all right. Are you ready. yes. I am ready al k. And go look. The basic fact is that we wanna believe. We want to believe that. There's a little magic still left on this earth. The reason we wanna to believe is it would make life easier and give us meaning behind going to work every day and doing the right thing but do the right thing because you want to be a good person not because you hope something waiting for you when you die. I've spent a long time like many of you thinking that because it's unexplainable means that it's spiritual or paranormal or something not from this world but unexplainable just mean science still hasn't has room to grow. There's no ghost that can ever be one hundred percent proven just like a lot of evidence it can't currently be explained but it will be and that's what i have faith in. I put my faith in human beings because they can be proven to be real. And that's enough for me. I do not believe any way that conway castle has any kind of haunting to it. There's just no evidence that by the way he wrote that before the episode. I wrote that a couple of weeks ago. It's going to say that actually to be honest ended a bit more beyond just conway castle. That sounded like pat speaking to his critics and very philosophical of you. i'm not speaking to my critics. I'm speaking to the listener. Sort though those that would wish you a believer kind of giving your philosophy. I may be. I don't know but it's moving very much gives an insight into to your heart and how how you think about things. sure Very helpful in that way. Well i you know. I just i after like the infield episode being fifty fifty. I'm just taken aback by that because they're so much skeptical. Evidently everybody her so much. Skeptical evidence it's like it's like amityville just is much just as much skeptical evidence against it. Thank you so much for listening. Please share with your friends and family. As word of mouth is our best advertisement. Remember to go vote in the polls. We need your vote. We need to know what you think. So that the skeptics finally win another no we need to make it clear to pat that we believe in these things and remembered hit that. "It's one of those kinds of things. I don't know it's me i. I actually had a hard time seeing it at first. Because i didn't i did too. I didn't look at it when it was like the circled part greg because i wanted like hey i want to see you know what it you know if i can see where this is and it actually took me a minute to find it And so i see what you're saying where there's like kinda son that's coming down But man that part where the figure is. I mean that is really it is really distinct. I have a hard time seeing like the people behind it. I see no people. I think you know. She said they zoomed in and kind kinda looked at it that way so i. It's it's a little harder to see that part But no it that man that really looks like a like a figure there. One time i looked up to the sky. And i swear i saw homer simpson in the clouds. But that's just my mind trying to make a connection to that because homer simpson was like my tv dad kind of thing so interesting. They think this is explaining. But i'm just saying it's one of those things that it's like your mind just kind of tries to make sense of what it seeing and not that it seeing anything unusual. It's just trying to put some some life to something that's really not there Interesting yeah well. I think it looks. I am okay so i'm gonna give this another six. Okay that's pretty high. I mean to me. I it does look like a figure but it's not an eight or a nine or anything like that to me because i get. I don't see the other people behind them and i am. I'm open to you. Know little flexible on a photo takes a snapshot of one moment in time and a lot can happen during that one moment in time to make these images look like that. Okay cheese or back Going whitney houston on me there so to me no. This does not say anything this is. This is zero again. Wow all right. so far. I've given higher than zero on this one. I just i just don't see these things there. I now all right. Well we've got. I can go look at it out. Our website go sleep. I'd guess calm and quiet and our episode here Okay last piece of evidence today. is a disembodied voice captured on video by a pair of paranormal investigators. Carl has all and sam singleton of the dark arts paranormal group while filming themselves exploring the castle. The camera captured the voice of a little girl whispering. Tell they did not hear this at the moment when they were filming it. It wasn't until they were watching the footage back that they heard it see. That's the thing it's like. That's another time when you're when you're searching for something so when i heard it which took me five or six times playing this video. Rebecca had to tell me the time that it was at. And i kept listening at that time i did not hear it at first and then i heard new tala because you had some new tally. No but i was really hungry. At that time. I could have won for some new tala. That would have been but no i. I mean it could have been anything that caused this. It could have been the The woman's shoes on the floor or something like that or they crunched some some some rock or something like that when they cause the floors are made up of like a rock ish kind of thing instead at that level girl with but over a video camera. It sounded off mike. It didn't sound like it didn't sound like it was any kind of ghost or anything like that. It sounded more like maybe somebody said something off camera. Maybe maybe they just happened to walk in a certain way when you walk on. A wooden floor makes creeks when you walk on stone. Sometimes they crumble a little. This was super scare as a scary spooky to me i absolutely heard it immediately. And it sounded otherworldly. It did not anything like joan. Tala noah sounded like totally different and. It did sound like a whisper. It was clear to me that it was not the people that were. Just you know the two people that were there Yeah it was super creepy. I mean here's the thing. I have nothing against any kind of new tala or anything like that. I i think it's it's really good. I don't like new tele sandwiches. it's like a little too much of it. I would prefer like unlike a little cracker thing. You know the cracker sticker something like that. Those are really good with new tala and nothing against new tala. So but i definitely think that this could be something else especially since they didn't even notice it at the time well to me. That's what i'm saying is that it was other worldly was something that was only captured on the other-worldly like make believe world he was total. Maple world okay. So we'll What's your rating zero to ask zero. This one's an eight for me to back come outer creepy super paranormal. We're gonna have the the link to the youtube video. And by the way there was no welsh or english accent in that new televoice. That's true that's true. But i have no idea i'd i'd it's hard to tell with the whisper and who knows who knows what spirit this is so no okay. So what is your overall rating than for conway castle. Rebecca semi while waiting for conway castle is gonna be a six also not as haunted as what people have said Yeah i will say i mean. It's an looks like an awesome place to visit their. You know again. There's a lot of reports of things. But i just i couldn't find a ton of specific stories other than this photo and this voice in those were convincing enough for me to go towards the haunted side Yeah but i almost feel like it. You know it's it's just a creepy castle so some of that might just be people feeling creepy while they're there. Okay i'll for you. So i'm gonna go zero on it you know. That's an average of my clear average ratings here. I'm sorry. I just don't think that there's enough evidence there to prove anything even to get me to a one or a two. I'm now so that brings us to the closing arguments. This is our last chance to convince you to vote our way. We are each given one minute of uninterrupted time. Because rebecca likes to cheat so we are going to do it on our own cell phones. Were going time each other to keep each other honest because rebecca lies. I wanna so rebecca. Are you ready. I am ready. Okay.

"Her. I'm having trouble understanding what happened yesterday. It was unlike anything. I have experienced before and i hope that i never do again. I took my six year old daughter with me to visit conway castle. I'd heard they did a good job restoring it and also making it safer to explore a. My daughter loves old castles. She likes to pretend to live there. Sometimes the princess and sometimes as a night we had a great time. We took a tour. Because i thought that way we could learn more about each part of the castle. It was so interesting at one point. The guide was telling us about a battle that had happened and how all the soldiers fought valiantly to defend the castle and the town. It was a thrilling tale. My daughter however did not seem to be paying attention. I mean at six. She was really more interested in doing her own exploration so she was looking around on her own while he was talking. She wasn't far from me but she wasn't the interior part of the courtyard We we all stood in. And i admit i wasn't watching her every second when it was time to move on to the next place i had to call her and she didn't answer so then i had to go looking for her. I found her staring intently at a wall. I asked her what was she looking at. And she didn't answer actually had to shake her and tell her honey we need to move on. She looked at me with wide eyes and said this is a dangerous place. Mama bad things happened here. I wasn't quite sure what to say. That i mean i was sure. She must've heard the tour guide talk but he really didn't necessarily see anything that violent. I told her that there had been things that happened here. But that was a long time ago and we didn't have anything to worry about now. She said oh. I know that the people here protect us. They get rid of all the bad guys that want to hurt us at this point. I really didn't know what she was talking about. But i didn't want to get lost from the tour. I just wanted to move on so i said it's okay. Honey and i grabbed her hand to get back on track. She came with me no struggles and everything seemed ok. She was quieter more observant as we visited more parts of the castle. Then the tour guide said something. i wasn't expecting. He said several visitors have claimed to see the ghosts of soldiers from hundreds of years ago on these grounds and my daughter grabbed my shirt and whispered to me. I saw them what i said. That's who told me about this place in the danger. She said there was a soldier downstairs. I talked to him. He was nice but scary to you. Was there when you came to find me. Didn't you see him. I'd like to say i knew the right thing to do in that moment But i'm not sure that i did. All i could do is look at her. I asked if she was scared and she said no he told me. They protect visitors to the castle. And that moment. I decided i didn't want to scare her. Didn't know what was real but if she was feeling protected and content. I didn't wanna ruin that by doing what i wanted to do. Which was to scream. Needless to say we left immediately. I told her we needed to get home and she was fine leaving. She hasn't said anything about it since then she slept fine. But i sure didn't wow okay. So how much of that is. Fact versus made up rebecca stuff. Most of it is made up just that there are in fact people that claim. There's no little known. no little girl. None of that just a version of the. I'm i'm guessing what stories people may be have because again there there are. Soldiers cited absolutely grounds all right. So we're gonna go ahead and take a break and then when we return we're gonna talk about the history Pat what creepy stories. Funny memes and inside ghostly information having common my life while yes but no. it's also ghostly society on facebook. Oh yeah. I mean that. Too of course but aren't all listeners. We are back so toyoma. Park is the land that surrounds toyoma castle in toyoma city. You know they're very original. With the naming i think seto dealt with the theme absolutely This is a weird one though. Because unlike american history. It's not easy for me to find a starting point for this episode. So japan has such a long history that we had to really dive into the past to fully grasp the history of this land in this park. I always like stuff that predates You know like seventeen. Seventy six America you know Because it's just always so interesting. It's it's hard to take myself into that time period you know but on toomer castle was built in fifteen forty three so i went to the renaissance fair. That's medieval. yeah this is medieval times right there. It is In those days much like the rest of the world. Japan was in constant struggles. There were many different clans in land was constantly switching hands in this castle. there were many different occupants. I'm not. I'm not going to go through all of them partly because i can't pronounce most of the names but i another thing is it's like like these people will have held it for a year or two years and then it went to somebody else and then they. This group dissolved into something else. And it's just. It's really confusing. So i'm not gonna get into all that but a lot of the original castle was burnt down in a fire in sixteen o nine. It was rebuilt but in eighteen fifty eight. There was a huge earthquake that destroyed many of the structures of the castle in what survived was then destroyed by the japanese government in eighteen. Seventy one okay. So is there a castle there at all now or there is there is okay When you look at pictures of.

"The castle is not just you know we're the king lists castles actually are count as the whole you know. The king lives is like the keep and everything else around is still part of the cast everything inside the walls so there are three different types of castles. The earliest form of castle is the motte and bailey castle and the with has two parts the motte and the bailey The motte was basically just a big hill that you built up and put your keep on top of a small hill. That's very steep. And you'd put palisade which is a fancy word for big wood fence to four primer at the top of the hill and inside. That would be your actually wouldn't keep this law. Would the mom bailey castle and then the bailey was a separate area somewhere at the bottom of the hill on a smaller hill..

"Well that's pretty rude. The voice outside said if lynch the fly hadn't been so obsessed with keeping his castle to himself he might have realized. It was a very large sounding voice. I don't care. And i don't care about you. Get away from my castle. You can't calm in. Outside of the castle stood a burly. Bear a friendly fuzzy brute who had just wanted to complement the castle after the root owners outburst though he had a different idea with a single swipe of his mighty pa he sent the castle crashing. Apart in a million pieces flinch. The fly flapped for his life and escaped into the air. He turned to yell again but saw the burly bear and thought better of it. Maybe i have been a little rude. He thought maybe having a castle in thinking myself king was a recipe for disaster. And most of all. Maybe i should check. Who's at the door before. I start yelling. His lesson learned flinch. The fly found a new sandcastle even bigger than his old one. This time he let the leaping laos the friendly fleet and the mangy mouse all move in and when the bear came to visit they were always extra polite the end. Today's story the hassle of the fly was an adaptation of a russian fairy tale written for.

"The castle of the fly once upon a time. A fly named flinch was sick of living outside. He had spent every night of his short life. Clinging to the underside of a leaf. Doing his best asleep. He was just stuck. They're hoping a breeze wouldn't blow him away or a frog wouldn't gobble him up. When it rained flinch got wet and he had to wait for the sun to dry him in the mornings. It was an uncomfortable way to live and the fly was tired of it. Other animals he saw got to live more comfortably. The birds had nests safely perched way up in the trees. The ants had their clever hills with what seemed like miles of tunnels underneath. The squirrels lived in holes way up in the trees and the groundhogs lived in holes way down in the ground. The bees had their buzzing hives and the spiders had their silent webs. Even the beavers had their dams in the river. I need a house to flinch said to himself. After a particularly long night the winds had howled and the rain had poured and the frogs had croaked closer and closer and he hadn't slept a wink. I need a house for myself and not just any house. I need something grand. Something fit for a king. I need king house. He paused for a moment. Rubbing his little fly legs together. King house wasn't quite right. What did they call the big stone. Houses kings lived in a castle. He exclaimed i'm going to live in a castle. I just have to build one. I flinch flew down to a clear and sandy spot in the woods. He knew about well away from the water and the hungry frogs human children's sometimes came by and built little sandcastles there so he knew it was a good spot. In addition to all the sand it was littered with puddles in all colors including bright. Gold's diamond looking courts flinch. The fly got to work with the little pebbles using mud from the rain to stick them. He did his very best. But it just kept falling apart..
