A break? Like you go to these trading cards and you open a box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'd never heard of it. And then Brian led and the guy who started the company led. Sometimes I call him ludic. Anyway, he's like, you want to do a break? I'm like, what's that mean? Dude, he goes, we're going to open the box of cars. He's like, oh, fuck yeah. So we did that and we pulled a Tom Brady rookie card. We opened my class 2000. We pulled a Tom Brady rookie. Yeah, it was big too. Dude, this app is so crazy that you're actually saying that this is what it does because the other day just moved into a new house. I'm back at my parents house looking through all my stuff, all my childhood stuff in my room and the basement. And I looked through all the cards that I had saved, and I'm literally looking at these rookie cards, I had Derek Jeter card. And I wasn't sure it was like his first All-Star Game rookie card and I had like a holographic thing on it. I'm like, thinking to myself, how am I supposed to know how am I supposed to know? Is it $2 or is it like 25,000? I have no idea what the answer is. The card guys know exactly where to go to. The guys are, they have this they go to the website where they know exactly what to look for. Because we did it one day. We tested the card versus actually going online and researching all the cards. We did 5 cards. The app took 30 seconds. This research in them all took about 5 minutes. So it's amazing the technology that's behind this thing. But yeah, they're going to release it pretty soon. We should be pretty damn cool. I'm excited. You're talking about opening a new pack. People do that on Instagram Live and people can jump in and watch. It's pretty riveting actually. "27 to 29 game out of unfinished. Now, this was this game was one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen in my life. And I don't say that lightly. I lived for a couple of years with my best friend's dad was a ref. And I lived with them, and I totally know the struggle of being a ref and I respect them. It's way harder than people realize there's little things you never notice. And man, there were so many in this game though. So despite the fact that I hate criticizing refs and I think if you lose a game and a ref decides it usually I will say, well, you should have made more plays and not left the game open to where ref could have decided the game. However, this game was awful. I mean, there were ridiculous ticky tacky penalties called there were some obvious penalties that were not called. I'm like, you're calling that, but not that. Justin field's got nailed late. Multiple times, and you're like, ah, why are we not protecting The Rookie quarterback Justin Fields? That seems a little bit weird. And look, I'm not a bears fan, I'm not a steelers fan. I got no dog in the fight. In fact, I told you why I was glad Pittsburgh actually won the game. But it was insane. The way the calls were going against Chicago. And some of them were justified a couple offsides, penalties at the end of the game, Robert Quinn was offsides totally. I agree. But what about the bear's touchdown pass to Jimmy Graham? They got called back. I was a terrible. Like a low block, what are you talking about? What? Or the insane taunting penalty on cassius marsh, where the dude did nothing. It's bizarre and it felt like a small town high school game where the refs are all from the town of the home team. On Friday night lights are something where you're like, are all these reps from Pittsburgh or something? Like, what's happening here? Do they have money on the game? Why do they feel a need to so desperately come after Chicago? Over and over and over again and they were not calling things fairly. Calls for not going both ways. I just felt bad for the bears coach Matt nagy because he can't even say anything after the game. He's got to keep his mouth shut, or he gets fined. So wrong. And or cassius marsh who just got elevated from the practice squad, like he got a sack and they're like, nah, take it back, penalize for taunting, which he said nothing. Again, like he's just looking at the I don't know. You apparently you can't even look at the other sideline or that's a taunting penalty now. It's ruining the game, refs are inserted into way many football game, way too many football games, and this bears Pittsburgh game was the epitome of what's wrong with refereeing right now with officiating the NFL. And again, some of the penalties made sense..

"You know there was. There was no problem with what we saw from jordan berry. And we abby. He kicked pretty well. Barry didn't do poorly. He had one of those short kicks about midway through the game. Where i think the only travelled like thirty some yards. It was a really short pick that kick pun. I mean it was is typical shank. Anyways dave what about you. What did you think about specialties. I'm wondering if the numbers. I'm seeing here wrong. I need to try to look somewhere else. They're saying that harvard's average was only thirty point eight. I know he had that one short. Putt 'cause they were putting from their own forty seven. I mean jamir. Jones did early on as much as anything The defensive line there was times where they i mean. Jeffrey benedict is all over. Henry mondo and and what that he's really he's the guy that's ahead of these other ones. But then i mean isaiah. Bugs look good. Carlos davis didn't look good early but then looks good later. I mean so but almost at the mouth there in combination so there was some people on defense. And i thought james pierre looked good when he was in there because i mean he was. I mean if you're coming up as a corner and you're basically tackling a receiver for no gain or one yard. That's a nice play. So but i don't think i don't know if he wasn't out there long or if they just stop throwing his side so it was really. It's really difficult to say that any of the guys just did great. Throughout the entire game ryan. What about i thought lamont wade looked pretty. Good number twenty. Four on defense penn state. I felt like he was flying to Receivers he was flying the ball carriers. I just thought. And he he meant force that fumble that they ended up they through the flag and that didn't get overturned but man he laid a lick on that guy as well so i i really thought he helped himself out a lot in this game. So that's that's a guy that i was thinking about as well so in you know they were talking about him a lot on the broadcast. Lamont way yeah. I mean i. I've been very pleasantly surprised with isaiah louder. Milk this entire preseason. I said that on twitter during the game. I just come down with a sack in this game. But i mean here's a kid that when the steelers traded into the fifth round to draft him out of wisconsin. What did we all say who. Why what leonard heard of this guy he comes in. Of course he's getting all you know he's getting his car. Wax by the position coach and players are saying is potential and all this stuff. He looks like a young campaign as crazy as that may sound and i'm not just talking about physically. But the way he plays. I think that he has a really bright future. With the steelers. It might be steel of a pick in the reason why they traded a fourth round twenty twenty two draft to the miami dolphins to get back into the fifth round and get him. I was one of the ones that said you know. He's going to make the team just because they traded up for him. Now he's gonna make the team because he's been a quality participant on the defense. You all agree with that davies. See the same thing that i do. I mean if he was a guy that it just seemed like all the other guys were just so much better than him than you just kind of might say you know what we took a shot. We didn't get it now. That has not been the case. He has shown that he is is worth the investment of a season to try to develop them. Even more brian as thoughts on louder milk i thought he had a great presence about him and he was in there on without sack in in there on a another hit that i believe i know jamir jones was in on that hit too. I think louder milk was there when they when they said that it was an incompletion from sam darnold but these guys on defense. I like the fact that a lot of them you know. Dave mentioned carla davis not looking good in the first half. I like the fact that jamir jones and louder milk look good in the first half and we talk a lot about the first half yesterday on the preview and the players that played well in the first half are going to get a better look being up against a first team and they were up against the first team. So i guess we could talk about my in my gosh so much bad. That happened in this game. But i kinda wanna spend a few minutes talking valley. "Focus. This preseason james. Pierre hasim doesn't have any tackles. he hasn't missed tackle. Marcus allen he has attack on an assist but he also has a miss k. carlos davis amiss tackled. Nothing else just lane has a mistake. Well to go along with his solo tackle as does mark gilbert. Then you have. Derek watt. Who has an assistant miss and miles killebrew with the same thing. I will say this. These are just according to pro football focus. I can't confirm these with other places. I found that. Pf when it comes to the preseason actually has the the most amount of data. so that's what i'm done with so those are important to to to look at the tackles. Also the steelers did have one penalty on on a Special teams play and it was by mark gilbert just thrown out there so but he also has a lot of snaps so now. Let's get into what people might be carrying about the most. Yeah you want to have a lot snaps. But how'd you grade on those snaps. Who's the highest grade right by birth. According to pro football focus going by their numbers the steelers have two players that have their grated ninety or above for special teams so far this year. Let's see let. I'm going to see if i can tell you where they would come in overall in the nfl. So far with those special teams grade. They actually come in third and fifth. That's ironic that we we reference those numbers other places but they have the third best and fifth best special teams grades in the nfl. This preseason so that's interesting to know and those two players are number one. His traynor norwood with a ninety one point two then. The other player is wide receiver. Anthony johnson with a ninety point six. So it's very interesting that those are the two players that have great it out so high that they're both in the top five of the entire. Nfl this preseason for their for their special teams play then. There's a drop to number three. There's only one player that the steelers have it's in the eighties and that's jamir jones with an eighty two point nine score according to pf for special teams now just to in case you are chore basically if you come out and you and you play one snap and you don't do anything during that snap or you don't like do anything great or anything bad. The the starting point of these grades is a sixty point zero so you could always compare paragraphs to that. So who's doing you know above average so we said said jamir jones number four. Well i mean. I think he's. His contract is more about being a special teams player. That it is a fullback. Because it's derek watt with a seventy six point six on his sixteen snaps that he scored well even with that miss tackle and then. I'm not surprised by this one either. Another one in the seventies is end. Kevin raider at a seventy point seven. He does bring a lot to special teams. And if he does not make this roster i think years a prime candidate for the practice squad and someone that they could actually pull up on game day if they need to Just because they did that in the playoffs last year because they wanted him for special teams. So it's not beyond the realm. A possibility of of him ended up being the third tight end or them decided to keep a fourth tight end because of the special teams so kevin reiter is someone to pay attention to friday night and what he does on special teams because more you would get a greater chance to make the team based on your special teams play friday night and probably anything else on the next player of the only other one that was a seventy or above is cornerback. Mark gilbert with a seventy point one. So that's those are your top six scores for special teams for the steelers. Then then as you move on. You've got anthony. Mcfarland sixty nine point one secure brown. I'm probably not saying his name right. But oh well Sixty eight point. Five tyler simmons sixty six point two. I'm going to say but he's no longer member. The steelers he was one of those released this week christian kunz the long snapper has a sixty six point. One grade which i think is pretty interesting that that he's in here for that you know he's eleven field goals five punt coverage he's been getting at it on the punting i actually have him have him as a as a possibility of making this roster overcame or candidate because he can offer a little bit more on coverage teams after snaps the ball on that on that punting so then it goes to kaelin balaj at sixty five point. One cassius marsh sixty four point five if he makes his team is going to be more because they needed for special teams. Arthur latte at sixty three point five. My tomlin hinted about something when they were asking about. Stefan it coming back. We all assume it's coming back from dealing with everything with his family and whatnot but the way coach tomlin answer the question. You know of course. You're missing your defensive player of the year candidate so it would only get better when he comes back. But i'll be honest with you. We'll start off with the positive one. I'm not worried about outside linebacker right now. How about you ingram looking very well as a tandem out there do not that does not worry me really at all. So when you throw t. J. watt back out there No worries outside linebacker. Something people were worried about. Well we have depth who's going to be the rotational guy this everything else not don't have to worry about it. Yeah on my my my thing is. We're still talking about like jamir. Jones quincy rochet to cassius marsh. Those guys there's gotta be something. Go down where someone's missing the game for them to really get on the field. Because why would you even go beyond those. Three of what highsmith ingram. In my opinion. I mean now you saw even highsmith ingram will get the job done adding. T. j. watt is just super bonus. If you know what. Got no worries right now and just think of how concerned that was one of the biggest areas of concern this offseason because of the depth after those two. It's all good when you say. This isn't just the to outside corners. We're also talking about the slot. It could be someone who's not a safety but kind of that's what you do if we're talking about corner and you're talking about those three. How are you feeling right now. "In just dominate your with the twos. Okay go against their twos and make them look silly mission. Accomplished kevin dotson juvenile taymor junior. He keeps playing like this in a core. Four does not play well. I'm not saying he's gonna start in week one but there might be a point in this season he nc takur for just saying it. You heard it here first next. Let's go to the pass rush. The steelers had two sacks. Six quarterback hits to tackles for losses. That they didn't have the force acts. They had against dallas. But they put pressure on the quarterback mainly bad pressure that resulted in adjusted interception. And they started to get to the quarterback. Got us a sack of joe. Flacco how good did that feel by the way. Did you just feel like old times. When i saw joe flacco laying on the ground and he stands up and he starts tugging his pants and he has that stupid. Look on his face just like old times. This is it just seemed right dinner for the steelers this actual flacco. I've thought the steelers past russia's proven one thing it doesn't matter who's in there they're gonna get after the quarterback and they're going to blitz they're going to blitz at skis brothers mo and they're gonna live and die by and right now that are living by their live big. So good for the past rush. I have them on my winners less next. I have the running game. I know shocker. This is crazy. The running game forty two carries one hundred fifty two yards three point six hundred average and two touchdowns not a great average but remember that still would have been that that would have been about par for laughs last season. I think that the steelers the ran the ball efficiently. They didn't have a big huge run. That gave them all those yards. It was grinding out yards scoring in the in the red zone. They ran the ball. Well and the red zone and i also should have thrown in a caveat here. The caveat being adrian klemm. This guy has almost single-handedly changed the way. The pittsburgh steelers approach the run game. So mike montano leaves three years ago and sean syracuse promoted and we all think the same thing. The peer becomes the teacher and he's going to do the same job but we know that didn't happen. It did not happen. In fact i would say almost the opposite happened. Mike munch had a very efficient different but efficient offensive. Line sean sarid. They couldn't do anything. Well in adrian klemm. It's almost if he said. Look if we're not going to be the best offensive line we're going to be the most physical and we're going to be physical and aggressive and that's exactly what they've been doing. I hope they can continue that and carry that into the regular season. Two more winners to get to next jamir jones jamir freaking jones. Jamir jones is just everywhere. He led the team in tackles with four three solo. Had one sack one. Tackle for loss in two quarterback hits. I'm not saying that. Jamir jones punching ticket to the starting lineup. And i'm not saying he's punching his ticket to the fifty three man roster. But i am saying this. That jamir jones is putting forth an effort. That is going to have him on a roster. Come cut down. And i'm not talking about. I cuts the steelers. Have to make cuts by. I think tuesday to cut. I think five players by tuesday. Jamir jones isn't anywhere near that cut list if the steelers want to keep him which i think they should he could provide value. You just see him. You notice him on the field. And that's something that i cannot stress. How important that is to me. In a maya coach no scout no money analyst. No i'm a fan just like you but when fan can notice a player just by watching the football that tells you that that player is always around the football and they're always seemingly make plays jamir. Jones could provide quality depth at the outside linebacker position. How would they keep that many. Would he bumped cassius marsh off with quincy rochet. Shayna make the team. These are all difficult questions. But they're good difficult questions to have to answer when you have too much talent. It's better than not enough. Jamir jones has been really really good. This preseason deserves to be on the winners less last winter for me. Is the injury report why there were no new or major injuries of note. Even last week in dallas kaelin. Balaj hurt his he. I think it was an ankle or something. like that. and tomlin said he might be limited so still that injury. There were no injuries to that that were known right now. After the game there was no new reports. That's good news anytime you can get out of a preseason game without having anyone suffering injury is a good day is a great day to be completely honest with you now. Let's go to the losers there were some losers even steelers won. I i try not to nitpick. I really try not to nitpick i tried to. Just say to myself okay. Jeff if you're looking at this where were the weak points. And so i'm going to say i i won't let me put it this way. I was going to put the defense starting defense on their after. You know they had the the big seventy yard screen pass and all that stuff but you know what after my tomlin's press conference after the game he said look. We don't care about that. We have our basically our defense script on something as small as an index card. He's so we're going to give a place that's okay. Were evaluating talents alert. I heard that i was like okay. I'm not gonna do that what i am to throw in. There are penalties. The pittsburgh steelers in terms of penalties. They were penalized five times for thirty six yards. And it's not so much the amount it's not so much that they had five. It's not so much the thirty six yards. Linebacker will not anymore. If quincy rochet can turn out to be even just a situational pass rusher. What else do you need. Cassius marsh will be a special teams guy. He's a demon out there. We know that he likes to throw his body round special teams. My goodness that'd be. That would be absolutely fine. They also brought in a tackle formerly of the indianapolis colts instead of bolstering their lineup. A little bit melvin. Ingram is a player that a lot of people are curious about and they asked the question which is how do you think he fits. And the first thing. I want to make sure it's very clear. This is not in any way. Shape or form. Melvin ingram being placed on the steelers roster is not in any way shape or form a demotion for alex highsmith. Not at all just like last season. When alex smith was drafted it was not dude as a demotion for bud to free. This is not a case of you know when the steelers strategies misused during yet sammie coats and martinez frying kind of going back and forth about twitter was not the case. It's not the case now. Either alex highsmith's going into his second year in the national football league in no way shape performance anymore gonna say he's a veteran he's an entrenched starter. He is going to be learning. As the season progresses everyone with a brain in between their ears should know this. And it's it's going to be smart that it is smart that the steelers go went out in found valuable leadership and experience at a position of need. The pittsburgh steelers the two positions. But it's unproven death on on the outside linebacker depth chart. That's a different story altogether on the outside linebacker depth chart you have nothing. The coverage is pretty bare. You have obviously t. J. watt alex smith. You had cassius. Marsh in quincy rochet six draft pick from temple slash miami the u. That's it that was it. It wasn't even a potential thing. Yeah quincy rochet. You're like okay. Maybe he got was sixth round draft. Pick for a reason. He's a six round draft. Pick if anyone thought that he was worth more or worthy of a higher slot they would have drafted him. They didn't six round draft pick into the dealer. Said we need to make a move. They released dave decastro. They free up cap space. And you bring in a player who i again. I'm not claiming to be an expert. Here but melvin. Ingram from all accounts that i've read and people that i trust is that he could be the perfect number three tass rusher for the steelers. Let me give you a couple of reasons. Why number one. This is something that i like. How hot is that. He can play both sides. He is not a player that has to always rush from the right or always rushing the left he can play those sides. That is huge. Where did they struggle. They struggled in setting the edge. They just weren't big enough. They just aren't strong enough. That's not melvin ingram. This guy can play the run. He can set the edge.
