A "Mistake" That Adds Humanity To Your Podcasting... Maybe

"Talk about the pros and cons of when things go wrong. When you're doing an interview when you're doing something that you can't add it for NPR, which is so perfect. I think that it can add humanity. You really think about polish when you think about NPR, even if you listen to that guy, I think it adds something to the fact that we know that they're not clipping that thing together. He is that smooth on the Mike. So I think the NPR has a situation where a dog occasionally not all the time actually add something to the broadcast. Casey Kasem, you know, the Casey Kasem situation, Casey Kasem is going off mad about coming out of an upbeat number and going into a death dedication. Remember, those requests and dedications. He used to do somebody wrote in a little dog named snuggles had died they had a request and also a dedication to snuggle. But Casey Kasem is coming out of a pointer sisters song. So he went off. He went off on the production team somebody probably somebody from the production team felt belittled. Let those tapes out into the wild. They are legendary this was pre internet. These things were being passed around from radio jocks to radio jock. From tape collector tape collector, and of course, it's all over the internet. Now that's Casey about this years later. And here's what he said. He said it added to the humanity. Should I'm a real person. I make mistakes too. I get angry too. It didn't hurt me. Like, I thought that it would. So let's talk about for you. What happens when you get into a situation? Where there's a fire engine going by a dog going by will it help you in this way, the answer is maybe while something like this can help you. It can also make you look amateur or make you look like you don't care. And I think that's the biggest thing if it makes you look like you don't care about your audience. So this reason that I think you should do something if you can. But you can't if you're on somebody else's show. Don't get too caught up in it. It's not that big a deal as long as it doesn't happen. A lot dogs barking put the dog up mobile phones going off, you know, sometimes you can have fun with that. Sometimes I'll be in the music business radio studios. A foam will go off. I may people answer it we've got so funny calls that way. Sometimes it's one famous person calling another famous person, you never know. But it only happens once you don't want it to constantly interrupt every single element of the episode if they're that busy. They don't need to be in your studio with you kids spouses, interrupting that needs to be controlled if you can control it that needs to be controlled. Because again the issue. You is. You're not caring about your audience. That's the downside of this. And that's how it can come across. If it appears that you don't think that that person listening is the most important person in the room. You're not gonna win that person. Over people understand dogs. People understand fire engines, they're going to understand the occasional mistake. Hey, somebody left a cell phone on accidents. But they're not going to understand why somebody is constantly interrupting you asking whatever they're asking you when you're supposed to be spending time with the listener so wrap things up the most important thing in this situation. Ask yourself this does the listener know that I care about him. And if it happens just like it did on MPR, let it happen. He moving forward

"And that nobody on the left would call him out and say, whoa, dude. I don't want to be part of a Democratic Party. That has a guy like you in it. They all immediately ran to explain what he meant to say. Well, he meant to say the meant to say this what he said was sick. What he said. Was sickening is what he said. And completely changing the notion of what it means to be an individual and a human being completely changing what it means to be an individual with protections under the United States constitution. So when they flat when they fight about the fourteenth amendment, and they turn around and they go. Hey, look at this born on US soil. You're a citizen what about born on US soil? Euro you're a human being with the protection of the law, making sure that your life is not taken without due process. It doesn't sound like there's any give process at that moment. Does it? I don't hear it. I don't hear any due process, and obviously the babies alive because it's an infant, you know, some of the the spin master's on the left here solar schools turning around and go. Well, this is about a baby who's born not born alive. No, no. He just said an infant they'd resuscitate. If that's once. So obviously a person who's what is the person at that point. There's no question about it. There's no no more mother's body issue here. The left is insane. I'm sorry to say it. But it's the truth. The Democratic Party is no longer the Democratic Party that you grew up with where you had a governor in the state of Shu plant or sued by Planned Parenthood. You remember that old thing Casey Kasem, Planned Parenthood, major supreme court case, you had a pro life governor, you first of all the Democrats would never allow you see what they're doing a Howard Schultz, and he's pro choice. They would never allow a pro life democrat to run on their party. They wouldn't allow it. I'm telling you. They would not allow it. What's his name, the chairman of the DNC, Tom Perez? He would literally say you're not allowed to run. We're not allowing you to run we're not allowing you to be part of this party years ago. The Democrats would. Allow pro-lifers to be part of the party. And they try to shun them put them to the side, you know, like in a special section and not let him speak. You know? Like what what you do with your your uncle had thanksgiving yet? You put them in the corner. And hope he doesn't say anything that's what they would do to pro-lifers. But now, they won't even let them be part of it. They would not let them run for president. You think I'm wrong. And forget it. If you think that this is a party of moderates Howard Schultz is the classic example of this the way that they've destroyed this guy trying to destroy him because he's talking about debt and spending and they're yelling and try to get them out of the race. This is not about stopping Trump. It's because his ideas, which at one point you would have said he was a sounds like a conservative democrat. They're not allowed anymore. I guess in West Virginia. You're grandfathered in which is why Joe mansions there? But that's about it. Let's face it. This is not your parents Democratic Party anymore kids. Eight five five three nine ten. And I do a terrible Casey Kasem impression because I had done one on television in the year two thousand and three Casey Kasem them has been deceased for. I think like a four years at this point. Yeah. Yeah. I wanna say twenty fourteen or two thousand fifteen was when he yes way but this upcoming weekend. There's going to be a forty eight hours, which I didn't even realize was still on the air on documentary on CBS exploring the. The accusations. I believe that Casey Kasem, his children are claiming that I believe his third wife actually had a murder, I think Casey was without some of his facilities late in life and had remarried a woman that the family did not like and the his children are claiming that this woman ended up. I don't know exactly. Whether it was through some sort of like, you know, lack of care or if it was an actual murder. I think that that will be explored in the documentary. So it's definitely interesting. And I think it does tie into that. There's a lot of interest in true crime and interest in Casey Kasem. I do worry about is it not fun to talk about, you know. And also, I didn't realize that there's a forty eight hours thing. So maybe we were getting beaten to the punchier if there's a whole two hours. I'm leave this Saturday on CBS, and I had been privately thinking about like, oh, I wonder if I should do something about this forty eight hours documentary in terms of the interest in the podcast, the audiences fascination with true crime and cereal and stuff. Like that. Would this be interesting to cover on a podcast sort of like people are making a murderer and things of that nature? So it was on my radar in terms of it being a podcast. I just don't know necessarily if it's certainly not fun to talk about anybody's murder, and and does it then also, you know, really poison the Casey Kasem angle the wand of. Yeah. It could get tricky. You might have to retire. Casey. If if things go bad. Yeah. I think all right. So if they're getting to that, I don't think we can get to. And I thought it had died down. But apparently now it's back in the news. This now, Casey Kasem family feud now includes allegations of murder and elder abuse. And this is going to be featured on CBS forty eight hours, the ongoing battle pits. His second wife Jeannie against his three children from his first marriage. And boy there are they are going at it case some died more than four years ago on Father's Day at the age of eighty two he had Parkinson's like disease. And here's the problem. He left behind an estate valued at about ninety million dollars. Quarreling over their quarreling over a massive amount of money. That's not good now. Jeannie claims that those three grown children conspired eleven years ago to trick Casey into signing over power of attorney giving them control over his medical decisions, which she says ultimately killed him. So the the Casey Kasem family row continues a melodrama. Yeah. And it's just it's not pleasant. It's ugly, and they are going at it. The mayor of town in Italy says they put up speeding cameras. This town is tiny. It only has about one hundred twenty residents, but they put up a speeding camera near pedestrian crossing in two weeks. Thirty miles an hour, and they were clocking people doing eighty five. They've decided to make the temporary speed cameras permanent. They're trying to curb the speeding epidemic before somebody gets hurt. Well, which will happen if some, you know, eventually somebody is going to sure. Vehicles going eighty-five. "Is Casey Kasem in Hollywood on American top forty and number. If you grew up in the seventies the eighties for the nineties. You knew that voice as Michael Jackson threatens to take over the top. Casey. Kasem was everywhere. Counting down the hits. Here's a tune that reached the top ten a few weeks ago got as high as number nine if you're too young to remember that how about this. White shaggy Scooby doo there you go. It's a little tease because apparently now this there's been a whole lot of problems with the family, his wife who is not the the mother of his children are into it. And so apparently, gene his second wife remains in a heated battle against three kids from his first marriage Kerry, Julian Michael claiming that they tricked him into giving them power of attorney back in two thousand seven she blames them for his death. This comes now the adultery. Oh powder. Wrongful death suit against genie back in two thousand fifteen for elder abuse. They claim she had blocked all access to them. And here's where things get real squirrelly. Once they located their dad and brought them back to brought him back to the hospital. Genie claims day told his doctors to unhook as nutrition hydration and medicine and left him to die and after his death. She then took off with his body had him buried in Norway where that yeah. That was everybody was like good Norway. Really? So genie's got homicide. Ecu's accusations against the kids here, apparently and the police have apparently the hospital. Let's see. The hospital that Casey was taken to the apparently there's an investigation that's been launched. And that's going to be this weekend's a look at forty eight hours. Oh, that'd be good episode. It's just so weird though. Are you talking about I know thanksgiving Turkey being carved there this coming Thursday? That's just really really crazy. Speaking of carving, President Trump will uphold the long-standing tradition. He's going to pardon the White House Turkey or thanksgiving Turkey at the White House because I believe Turkey's arrived yesterday, two turkeys named peas and carrots have been chosen one will be selected for part pardoning in the other one gets it all why are you gonna play two of their do? You flip a coin? No. This doesn't mean why do you just don't even put to of just doing it to mock pita? It'd be cool. We got a big president one day. And they they just said I'm having a tofu. So we're having turkeys have that conversation with my daughter the store, they had they had what was it vegetarian sausages? Yeah. I was that possible. It's awful. If you're a vegetarian, why are you even thinking about eating sausage? I saying you really want it. But you can't because you've put up this. You've got this little stop sign in front of you. That says. I can eat vegetarian sausages went all in on this hippie vegetarian thing. But it turns out I really want sausage. It's all about the flavor. This probably not one of vegetarians favorite holidays. Ryan Clark ABC news. Joining us next. Did you wanna.

You're a little bit older. No. So so here we are. We are in the birthday wand off and I feel like we need to. We need to bring hazy back, but Casey sounds a little different case sounds a little bit different right now because I just have a little bit of shred of the forest ghost of case peeking through the mortal usque known as just, okay, it's it's ounds like I've got a bit of a cold and I promise it'll be over quick by quick. I mean twenty three. Minutes if we don't talk too much. Oh my God, we've got a lot to get to here. So without further ado, let's begin. The first of this was on the birthday. "You'll never see me nominated for supreme court, thankfully, but if they ever had to haul me out there and talk about nine hundred eighty two. If my mom still has my spiral bound notebooks from that year. Document Casey Kasem top forty every week. Oh, really? Every single week. I was big on on documentation. Like, I I would I would score baseball games. I it was Red Sox fan, but they didn't show the Bosox game down here. So I had to root for the Atlanta Braves got TBS. So I would keep score with the baseball games. I wouldn't even get the score paper. I would I would make the little diamond. And I would I would chart every play ground out to I four put out for three and. And I would document every song in Casey's top forty. I'd write the artist the song last week's position on the chart and this week's position on the chart. And then my big thing would be the next week to guess the top ten accurately. Best by trends. If you saw song like coming up from forty and jumped from forty to twenty seven it might go number ten next week. I had a lot of life lock going on. So so if any allegations do come forth, do you think that these these writings will help you in any way, or will they hurt you know, they will hurt me because you'd be able to look at something like that to go. The kid was clearly a psychopath. He clearly was going to want to kill someone any sexual notes or notes about how you're feeling about your own body at the time. No, no, the only the only evidence about how his feeling about my body at the time was the fact that some of the pages were probably stuck together..
