"Let us talk a little sports though as we transition into some hockey. Talk here where i am. The ottawa senators are well from the sports perspective. The kings in the city and they took on the chicago blackhawks on monday night. I think there was probably some after a four one win in dallas. And i start to a road trip. There was some optimism going into that game because this just in the chicago. Blackhawks are in a bad way. Not only is this their ten th game of the. They're playing last night and they still had yet to win a game. They were kicking up a little dust off the ice and we'll touch more on the beach story here in a moment but that looked like a very winnable hockey game the got thundered five one by the chicago blackhawks patrick kane back in the lineup after being out with kobe e comes in with a hat trick and man. He's beautiful key player. I'm not sure that there's another player. There's others i would put in the same breath obviously mcdavid gretzky. But i know there's ever been a better pop candler especially in traffic than the election. Cain oh my god that just watching him. Particularly in a powerplay setup where guys are pressuring him. He'll just move your let's go shimmy this way. Shimmy that way. The the routine way that he makes his saucer passes when guys have their sticks in lanes it just so beautiful. The watch and the guy's been doing it for such a long time. I'm not sure that he necessarily it gets love. Don't get me wrong. But not sure. His game gets the full love that it deserves. I get that just a an absolute superstar. And i don't think there's anybody but the park maybe ever than patrick kane. I wonder. do you think there's more stars league now than than ever like really good players. Yeah i think there's always the same sort of percentage of superstars at any given time they used to have built their resume toward the legends. Have but i mean. We're we're watching. Alex ovechkin. I think he's going to be the all time leading goalscorer before he's all said and done like he's he's already like he's got two points a game to start the the the season right now. Last i checked. He had nine goals in his first ten games so to suggest that he won't catch gretzky. I think i mean unless injury hits or he really runs into a wall like the guy is just physically dominant as he starts out this new contract so to answer your question. I think there's always the same percentage of superstars in any generation that just while you're living it you don't appreciate it because they haven't become legends. They haven't completed their career work of art. If i guess. I should always answering my own question. No it it seems there. Is you know it seems there. Yeah the there's they're younger at least you know. They're younger the stars. I heard good. Yeah thing last night to send the oilers beat. The cracking five to and in the in the rob brown does the game stuff. And i really like him..

"So you just have no luck just the witness. You will never win. You're you're you're the jeb bush. Absolutely actually i'm going to rename your team. Jeb bush low-energy loser now. Thanks that's nice. That's right my dad raja and didn't mean that sorry. I went to farm. My parents were right. I always go far you. Do you really do. And i was going to invite you and your lovely wife over for dinner but now that's off the table completely the best house the best. Thank you good. Did you think you like our island in the kitchen and your fake grass. that's right. Where as anybody aware of the level of laziness that you have just like. I don't want you in your yard is. It's a nice backyard but your standard suburban. It's like what maybe forty feet something like that. And you couldn't cut that even think it's like twelve by twenty-five issue is that you can't grow grass in this part of the neighborhood. Remember we had the grass stall and it was in the midst of the oscar pistorius Trial and i've been covering that in depth on my smash it show. That is offside that no one listens to leading your son. And the guy comes to the rodents all the grass and he's busy covered in dirt and looks at me and he says are you eric macro mala from ti songo. Yes it looks. Israel's exact words he goes. your coverage of oscar. Pistorius is captivating that calculating how waiting. Yeah and then. He went to ghost autographs which was great. Now let's give you a discount. I assume because he's such a big fan. No i think he charge me extra because he knew i was rich very very rich a lot too much in all his riches aaron rodgers and apparently the green bay packers want to make him richer. But that doesn't seem to be anything that will satiate him the training camps. Nfl training camp. Start on the twenty seventh. With a few exceptions most holy gets going on the twenty seven th next week and we're still not sure going on with aaron rodgers. What exactly is going on with aaron rodgers. In your opinion. I just i mean they're offering them the world financially. He's gonna be their starting quarterback is he just got his nose at a joint really about all that jordan love stuff. I don't think jordan love. I don't think it was trading up to get jordan love. I don't think it was not calling. Me was not letting him know ahead of time. But the news is that the packers wanna make him. The highest paid quarterback in the nfl. I waited this extension. Now the thing is we don't have the details of that contract. You know how much that is guaranteed money but let's just assume the contract checks all the boxes most of it. All of it is guaranteed money. Let's just assume it is an era. Says no that makes sense to never really thought he was going to go back. I think that if you think you're going to stand there and rogers you're nuts. He's not talking to his family. Okay he's thirty seven years old on his best days surly and condescending for him though he looks at this..

"Cocky emmy and that means you draft brady ka chunk and you got surrogates. Have in the fold and that team is much better mean circuit chavez an absolute these. It's really tough to play against. And he's developing into a hell of a player so it would definitely give the canadians a better shot but the canadians lost because carry prices ineffective in the first two games and they couldn't score and your events is part of your offense. Obviously they're tied transition games matter but for is going to get it. Done you here in ottawa. With me and have you had any sort of heavy formulated any opinions of the road. The senators are on. You feel like they're on the right path right now. I if i'm a sense fan. I am incredibly optimistic. "A guy we were wondering about. Jonathan drouin. looks like he's recharged and ready to go again out for personal reasons and I did you. I mean i don't know in your conversations with people. Did you get a sense of with jonathan. Drew is dealing. yes. I know precisely what he's dealing with and you're not going to share with us today. Unfortunately yeah this is. Yeah no i'm not. I'm not going to know that's fine but all say is version said today. That joint wants to come back and if you wanna do that you have some fences men with a teammate of really deep. Run the playoffs without you and you also have to engage because man i gotta tell you. John is the most talented player in practice. Not a game practice not talking about a game of talking about practice but come game time. I described him. As scott gomez to oil is neutral zone. Specialist can't score is a beautiful skater. Almost as good as me can't score you can ask his doesn't hit doesn't do anything. He's an inconsequential player. That's the problem certainly wildly skilled. We've seen little glimpses of it but is not nearly enough of it in montreal. Let me ask you this question. When we think about regrets i've had a few. I've had so drew a. Let's say he wasn't a montreal canadian. Let's say you could undo a deal and yet surge lineup what you have in the lineup and then you could undo the draft of twenty eighteen and you suddenly got brady could shock in your lineup. "Comes to the sort of your trademark basic hockey stats and carry price over. The past four seasons has been either average or for the most part below average and save percentage of i ran the numbers for goaltenders who have played at least twenty five games in two thousand seventeen. He ranked forty first in save percentage. This season was like. I don't know what i'd like. Twenty one last year was twelve year before that was thirty two. So why would you allocate thirteen and a half percent of your cap two goaltender when you have other options that are either equally effective or more effective and the players are younger. They're hell of a lot cheaper right. There's an opportunity cost to bringing shame to bring carey price into the fray because you cannot make a pitch for dougie hamilton. You can't make a pitch for orlando scott. You can't make a pitcher other players. So what would have been a really great branding exercise. In the moment you have to live with that decision from every moment moving forward for the next five years. And i don't know if it makes sense to have someone tuneup. Eleven million dollars if your cat space so you didn't think that what you saw in. The playoffs was really carry price. You're expecting him to revert to mediocre. Regular seasons nells no what we saw. The playoffs carry price. There are two different kinds of carry prices and he blushes this guy since he was drafted by getting in the first round was fifth overall. Whatever it was and there is a carey price with no pressure in carry price under pressure and clutch carey price. Is what you saw in the playoffs. And as he gets older the games don't seem to mean as much in the regular season as well so there's not that sense of urgency. You can see them. You're watching him like in the first couple of a game so clutch carey price is playoff carry price and he is one of the best at that but the issue is needed a goaltender and get you into the playoffs and goaltender. Now's a bit like running back. There are a lot of good goaltenders out there and you don't need a great glee when a company to good goalie playing. Well hashtag crawford write hashtag tim. "Somewhere if the surgery was unsuccessful. And so where's the play with bat with a bad foot for a long time and so you can't really ask him to sit because of his foot never stands again but expected the broader question. You ask it is unlike any sport. Basketball players got an ingrown toenail let cities out for six months. Right and in baseball players get hurt getting out of bed and the list. Six weeks hockey's different. That's why we love it. We love it. Because he's hockey. Players will give everything including their moms first stanley cup. And so. I don't think i really want to change that man i. It's up to the play. The players are smart enough to know that hey weber too can sixteen years ago to cup final to price fourteen years to get to a cup final pricing this unity in an issue. They know it's so rare to get there. You will do all you can to win when you are there so you know what environment. Yeah i mean. I don't wanna come across that. I don't. Coyotes and the sixty seven did pretty well today in bringing in former ottawa. Senator head coach. Dave kamran to be their head coach. What did you think of the hiring of cameron for the sixty seven's i i didn't see it coming. Did you know. I heard nothing about it. Yeah i mean it's a great hire. He's a guy who's got nhl experience but also of course Junior experience e coach tony. Oh l. before Both with the sioux and with the end for eugene in toronto Loads of expert. He also nice gig he also gets the the national junior team is part of this too right. Yeah hockey. canada gave him gave them the bears other position as head. Coach the junior team. So he's done that before Not not such a good result but His coach national junior team around. You have to bring that up. Ori but Longtime coach at at many different levels. I think it's a great I think it's a great hire. What was that lead. A three. Nothing lead in the third period old medal game. Yeah well you brought it up. I just had to reset it. I just i'm going. It was a draft choice. The islanders flees the lia the colorado rockies when they traded them bob lorimer and dave cameron for a first round draft choice that ended up being number three overall in the islanders. Took laugh on. You know the old detroit sitting there looking at the detroit kid. Lafontaine didn't get them and had had to suffer takes divisor but instead after. Well how you feeling if you're an. Oh l. coach and that that plum job that that job that almost every oh l. coach or anybody in the c. h. l. might want the team canada world junior head. "Put up some great numbers when When bob was out and vanna check who really wasn't even expected to be playing for washington all this past year Really only ended up playing because henrik lundquist had had the heart condition so he ends up there and it was still supposed to be Who is goal. Yes samsonov so so he getting in there was a shock but then put up some decent numbers but neither drager. Organic check is a is a carey price. Neither one of them is a yet. This guy's clear-cut number one. They both appear to be a one a one. B type guy. At bast right now and maybe. That's the plan moving forward but it just. They're not exactly solid in goal. The way that vegas was when they started with flurry no and that brings us to our next point and that would be the ottawa senators loss. They exposed like every other. Nhl team a number of players. And i kind of thought it would be dad novel tyranny but you thought and you thought correctly that it might be goalie Joy to gapped on his name for a second there to court is now a member of the seattle crack in and probably their third stringer. And what did you think of seattle. I know you've a on the sans nation podcast Talked a little bit about it but for the sake of our swat listeners. What did you think joey decor going to the cracking. It makes perfect sense. He will be to them what he was going to be your hope to be here in ottawa. He will play In american hockey league. He'll be there number one goalie. He's got two more years at a at a decent rate of like eight hundred grand. A year I think it's a one way deal in his final year. So hey it's it's. It's a calculated risk. It's getting depth at a position where you require depth and i see it as being good a good move for the twenty five year old goaltender. Who will come in there. He's not twenty-one light. he's not a kid. So he's a mature enough prospect that you can formulate an evaluation of him and project him as you see fit maybe that projection is. He's just going to be are minor league goalie for five years and retire or whatever but either way he feels a role for them that's required. It makes sense to me. Chief as opposed to taking on money. In chris tierney or in a in a dad off. The just doesn't necessarily make any sense. Based on their recent performance. We'll go through the full list of the seattle crack in roster as it's reported At a and is being reported by everybody by the way We'll do that in just a second. My thought undercored. Though is that you already have a bunch of guys in the organization who are unproven. Even as in nhl backup he's he's an impressive but unproven. Nhl goalie prospect and the sends have lots of guys already like that and last i checked his only one starting position. Only on starters job in the nhl so you can't develop all of these guys anyway. And at the moment. Philip gustafsen in my opinion is ahead of on the death chart and you know what mad so guard might be also after what he did down in belleville he comes in from europe and all he does is go seven or no with godley gaudy stats. So he looks really really good. Listening to jay jay cubic who called those belleville game. So guard played in talk about so guard. Aj says that guy is a gamer. That guy looks like the real deal. So there's so..

"Select one guy from every single team and it's not happening in front of cameras or anything like that. You're on the clock. All we know is that on wednesday. They're just going to announce it. So it's a great situation for ron francis. The only real pressure and there could be from you know deal options coming in. All these side deals that may be happening from teams who want to prevent seattle from picking certain key. Garris like if you obviously you can't all those names you've exposed you can't you can't pick all those guys just because the salary right question math here right you go okay. We just okay. I want him. I want weber. I wonder whatever i want. Kerry price and bub-bubba. Okay that's good. That's that's two hundred and fifty two million in salary right okay. So we're gonna have to do something a little different. Yeah yeah they still have to adhere to the salary cap just like everyone else but oh my god. There's so much talent available when i write to. Ottawa had in nineteen ninety-two their expansion draft. When ottawa tampa had to draft it was junk so in this draft and i think in the vegas one two it was a scenario where teams could only protect seven. Ford's three defense and one goalie or you could do eight skaters in general and one goalie lack in the day. I think it was something like teams could protect. Sixteen guys or something. It and it was. A bad situation was from it right. Yeah yeah for sure. The nhl is better off for it. And by the way the sends and lightning fifty million each for their expansion franchises whereas vegas and seattle or somewhere in the six hundred fifty range. So it's a little different a get what you paid for scenario but man of the sends the sends made such a massive in ninety two so not only that the bad rules but this is in the early days of laptops in one thousand nine ninety two laptops for just kind of coming out and the senators paid thousands and thousands of dollars this cruel laptops. They're good to go and they have all their information on there. The guys they're gonna pick and information well. The one thing they forgot was charger. Come on yeah there. They had no laptop access and literally. They had everything on there. Everything on there. So they're there guys have got things written out on napkins and going by memory and trying to trying to get this thing done and they're picking guys on at least three or four occasions. They had to jump up to. The mike and go oughta apologizes. Because they've picked someone who's already been picked or somebody's completely ineligible for the draft or a teams already given up two guys and they can't give up a third there was just it was a mass. And so certainly. The senators got off to a limping. Start with a question for stevie i. I don't know how they did season ticket. Sales pre sales in seattle. I if i remember correctly they did well. I got a dumb question. Does seattle have a basketball team anymore. The sonics they're no they've been gone for a while right. okay Going to bode well for the fence. Tv no basketball team.

"Carey Price. Is averaging two goals again. Andrei Vasilevskiy is averaging two goals a game in terms of the goaltender set up here. It is basically equal now. Vasilevskiy has been here before he's got a ring on his finger. But the Canadians feel this feels very 2018. Philadelphia Eagles ask, And I think if I say that long allowed enough, Kevin refuse from down the hall will come in just bustin because I've mentioned the Eagles, his Philadelphia Eagles. But every so often you kind of just get a team of destiny kind of a feel. 2018 Eagles looking to break a long time streak. We kind of we have that in the NBA right now. Maybe this is the year of the teams of destiny where we have in the Eastern Conference playing Milwaukee. In Atlanta. Atlanta is looking to win an NBA title. Now they're down two games to one and trade Young Game four. Who knows if he doesn't play, it's over for them. Atlanta The Hawks have not won a title as the Atlanta Hawks. They don't want a title since they were in ST Louis. And you look in the West Coast. The Phoenix Suns have never won a title. Alejandro Yeah, I'm agree with you. Clippers have never won a title. Heck, the Clippers have never made it to a Western Conference finals. The sons are looking to make it to an NBA finals for the first time since Charles Freaking Barkley was playing for him. And the Milwaukee Bucks are looking for a title for the first time since Kareem Abdul Jabbar Was on the team. Exactly. Yeah. We've got four teams of destiny there. We've got a team of destiny in this town now. Unfortunately with destiny, I mean, this would kind of be like if this was the NBA. This would be like the Atlanta Hawks, making it to the finals because they had the worst record of any team that's left making it to the finals. And then I don't know, running into the 2019 Golden State warriors. Well, actually, you forgot one and you might miss it. Leicester City That's for the Premier League. The Cinderella story Exactly. 2016 2016 Leister City, Right, Right. You're right. Leicester City, uh, winning that? Yes. Every so often we get some of these teams of destiny. Um, Lester, definitely one of the best sports stories of all time to to make the run that they did to win. Um, I'm trying to think of a few more that that jump into my head here. Obviously. Um The team of destiny. It didn't win it The Las Vegas Las Vegas cold Nights. Who made it to the Stanley Cup finals, but they lost. Any others that come to mind here. I mean the team and I think about the 06 heat. They were there much earlier than they should have been. They had Dwyane Wade, his top five player, but I mean, they had old shack at that point in time. Anything else you want? Well, the 70 Sixers of Island Amberson? Yeah, the old one Sixers. They lost in the finals to Kobe and Shaq. I should mention of the voice of Detroit business Do. Yeah, I should mention the, uh I should. I should mention the nationals. Washington nationals that won a World Series with what Stephen Strasburg of course a few years ago where they they fired their manager, mid season and then went on to make it to the World Series. But yeah, they went on to make to the World Series that year, so Every so often A team just gets hot. It's a It's a weird cosmic thing in sports. This is what we love about sports in what and what is also in in the NHL. Weird year. These two teams aren't supposed to be playing each other with with Lord Stanley's Cup on the line. They're both Eastern Conference teams. In a normal season. These two teams could never meet in the Stanley Cup final. The last time in the Stanley Cup final took place between two Eastern Conference teams. Long time ago. 1980. Islanders flyers So if you're a lightning fan, I I totally get Being on edge, even though your team is heavily favored in this series, and they should be heavily favored. You've got experience. You have talent. You have everything going in your favor. Pedigree. I mean, this is just the fourth defending Stanley Cup champion to return to the final. In the last 20 seasons. Penguins, Redskins and Devils were the last ones in 17. Oh, nine and 2000 and one So I Being up one. Nothing already is huge. Huge for Tampa Bay. And this is this is going to be a fun series. I hope it's a long one. Just for my own entertainment sake now for Tony Marino, and for our guy chase bunker for for their for their you know, for their mindset. Clean sweep would be nice. I I hope that it's not not that stressful for them, But, uh this is gonna be a fun one. Alright. Last call is coming up next. We're live local and loud right here on wdbo. No. Now the three big things you need to know. Three all new tonight authorities around the scene of a deadly gas explosion outside of Dallas, Texas. The Collin County.

"Win it's hard not to get wrapped up in all the action on the ice and seeing what will happen next you have to look at it strictly as a coach and to me that's the thing. I, always admired about the best coaches that they can do that. You bring up a good point. So let's talk about. Kirk cousins. Okay. I'm just. Know I was listening. Yeah. Yeah And we talked about coaches. Yesterday. Right about. You know how many guys are out there in the in the pool of of who could be a good coach Anyway Curt Muller. Guy Want to get a real GIG. A real GIG. And I don't I don't get why he's not anybody's radar maybe he settled in. Montreal, likes his role in his assistant coach and whether it's Michelle Tehran or whether it's close Julia, he's being in both cases. You see him very much at the end of the game with the White Board calling the shots and so the the great thing for him he is there's assistant coaches, and then there's really really involved assistant coaches and he appears to be the latter. So maybe that's something that satisfies them at the stage. That, I would bet if a head coaching GIG, came along, he'd he'd probably jump at it and he's he's probably an and that's part of being a great coach. Do I have a great team in front of me and I don't think this time and Carolina he was ever thought of as having you know given the keys to a Cadillac as far as roster goes beyond Carolina. Now it'd be a whole lot different. Than the other thing about coaching to. Is. All it takes is a little rumbling from some of the players. Okay. and. Believe me or Russ talked about this to every guy comes onto the team. Thinking, okay. I should be on the power play and on the first one of the top two lines. Okay Well, let's do the math. Okay. So we got thirty guys. Okay. How many? Are Twenty two guys. you all be on the first line by the way that sounds like playground talk from the coach, right? Saying, okay. You gotta understand everyone's going to get to play. So that's the issue. Right you got. You got that issue with coaching. And all it takes some time Steve is so you play you know maybe maybe you're only playing five hundred or three or four games under five hundred, you know twenty games in. And and then you get a couple leaders on the team going. I don't like the coach. I don't think he knows what he's doing. You know. And that starts to circle around and that can be the demise. So they're at, they're at the mercy of so many things man. Things. Yeah. That's what. I? That's one of the neat things about. When you talk about Circumstances sometimes dictating your fate emigrate score, but the team, my mom has a bunch of great scores already and I'm well, I've got to stay for the next seven years or something like that until I become fa because they love me. So I gotTa make the best of it and maybe take on a new role and That's why. There's something to be said for individual sports like golf and his right you forge your own destiny you're not so like you're either great you're either GonNa Merge as great on your own because you're mentally strong you're physically gifted and you'll get to where you WANNA. Go you forge your own path with team sports man a lot of things can go wrong none of which are your fault. Right, right. And you know we've been talking the last little while to write about. The money you get the fans going well, suck it up pal. Okay. WH-. What do you care if you're on the third line and used to be a first liner in the minors when you came out of junior or college you? I think you brought up yesterday that you know bougie Carbonell. Right who who ended up in the hall of fame and we're kind of debating. Whether, it should be there. And then you you pull up his stats and he got something like one hundred and eighty points when you're in junior that's right. I mean, it's crazy. And I'm shocked you remembered that stat. No I got that one. On What was I going to see from that? Stevie you got the stats Oh Bang on I thought man he is sharper than he's ever been, and now he's gotten this point. We're talking about the only so many guys can play. All right. Let's call it a day right there. Then you can take the entire day to figure out what you're going to say but mark my words, ladies and gentlemen he will have forgotten. He forgot I know what I was gonNA say all right. I got it so. You get these players. Right and so these rumbling start while I'm in a little boy, I'm not getting the ice time. I should right and they they kind of busted in the media to get to get caught off guard a little bit when they bring it up and then all the fans. So you this guy's concerned about the players pissed that he's not playing as much as you should have got sata game or two right and then so he might voices opinion on that right which which is what we like. You know you get inside a little bit right and you get to see this guy's a little pissed off, and then all the fans weighing ago. Shut your hole. Just because used to be on a first or second line in junior or whatever, and now you come here got to play the third you're making six million a year. Right and. If that was the case. Okay if. The players are into it man..

"NFL starting quarterback. That's that's talking about the corona virus. He gave an interview and was asked about the coronavirus and he said. If I get it. So be it if I die I die. Viking quarterback Kirk cousins. He's kind of taking a survival of the fittest approach to the thing personally speaking right and he says, if I di Di I kind of have peace about that. He said he doesn't believe facemasks work in helping to prevent the spread of covid but he repeatedly said he does he does in fact, wear them because he wants to respect others concerns about the virus so they asked him. Gave from a scale of one to ten. What's your level of concern over contracting the virus? One being the person who says masks are stupid you're all a bunch of lemmings while ten is I'm not leaving my master bedroom or the bathroom for the next ten years cousin said, well, we'll call anybody stupid because you gotta get in trouble for that but I'd be a point zero, zero, zero, zero, zero one.

"Everybody. Welcome to the WPA. It's all about true crime on today's show. Was Julius husband trying to frame her for murder? I get a little discouraged seeing hub badly true crime is destroying sports podcast right now in terms of popularity in any event, we're actually here. James with. Tales of sports and whatever Steve Along with Jim loads to get to today Jimmy Howard things. US TV okay where we ranked in the world's Steve of podcast where There are seven hundred. I understand now there's seven hundred over seven, hundred and fifty thousand podcasts. Right, that makes it tough. Anybody's got that list that had that seven, hundred, fifty, thousand, overall cumulative list of all subject matter all podcasts all the time right couldn't couldn't you've over a couple of years ago when you phone me when you got axed? tsn phone several let's do a business restructuring. Cabinet couldn't you? Couldn't. You couldn't couldn't you sort of found something for us where we're maybe there's only like twenty people who are competing for. Like. A top hundred or something stevie where go? Yeah. We can do that. We can bust into that. Seven hundred and fifty once you give me involved in here I don't know I don't know and it's not like. It's a slowing down either they say. Thousands of podcast starting each and every day in North America. Right now. So yeah. Try to cut through the clutter and I think the key to it. All this is is Benishi. In our do it you know and So we're doing what we used to do. Has, it has it affected Radio Steve. Like I'm sure there's some effect on radio but like everyone thought boy, this'll kill the radio Biz. I Dunno I stopped counting fifteen radio stations at Edmonton Twenty eight, there's no. There's no question that it's affecting radio stations, Koroma viruses affected radio stations here in Ottawa station you and I used to work for they're being affected by those two things and also their major product. has had some tough years as well. So not good times for radio in general. And I think podcasting the only thing that keeps it from taking over everything just as Netflix has taken over cable TV. Is fact that people under a managed to figure out Netflix's okay. So it's on my TV and it's on the Internet. It's on demand I I get I, get that I understand that and even though it's exactly the same thing for podcasting, it's still seems to be a learning curve that hasn't quite yet been achieved when it is Yikes for radio right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, they were saying that they've seen in a long time. Those Steve You know when satellite radio came along we were working right when when it when Busted into the market right and it was supposed to be a satellite radio. You can pick any station you want. You can pick any topic and there won't be any commercials. And they thought boy that's GONNA kill kill terrestrial radio but it didn't know because not on-demand podcasting is right. NETFLIX's on demand and it's murdering cable TV. You don't know who has the right idea Steve. I don't know if you watch watch it but people's attention right. There's always this this back and forth volleying that we do about how long should the PODCAST BE? How many minutes right should be and a lot of people are saying you know skirt kind of a forty minute deal is about people's attention span, and now I'm hearing stuff like twenty minutes. And you've got twenty minutes. Yeah. Well, they listen GonNa work or or you know break your show up into two parts was another thing twenty here twenty the second outing and listen to the whole Blah Blah Blah Blah. You've heard of Ted talks, right? Sure. Ted Talks has gone on Ted talks. So you can. You can search Ted Talks Okay and Ted talks are. How should I put this? What did they cover everything? Everything and anything, and it's people on a stage. Who are experts in their field talking about their field whatever is from from aliens UFO's. To Addiction to sports to the you know. The the meaning of bubbles there. It's just like crazy but they're only like a ten to fifteen minute deal you know and so it's telling. Stranger we gotTA Changers eight-minute Steve. No. I. Agree I think. With podcasting being as young as it is, it's hard to have anybody who's got twenty years experience does it just aren't anybody? A handful of people who were podcasting when no one even knew it podcast was right but the reality is there's no true experts at this stage just starting to emerge because it's been pretty damn popular for a decade but Yeah. So we're learning as we go somewhat and I do think that that's probably about the right amount. There's going to be people like David, for example, one of our best listeners he jogs. Says Perfect for his hour long run, but the majority of your listeners they listen usually in the same capacity as safe for example. The commute to work who listens to radio and uh but there's also this also people like to have it on all day long. So anyway, it's It's it's hard to know for sure what the best thing is everybody's got their own opinions of things and their own preferences but I find it very fascinating. I I mean I. Have a deep long love affair with radio, but I kinda considered my ex wife now and and now all this. New stuff content creation things online on demand I. It's it's exciting because what excited me about radio is being able to jump a Mike and to be able to broadcast to a very large number of people that was exciting to me. Now, it's not just whatever the transmitter can do with my voice. Now, it's the world. Now you're on the Internet and anybody anywhere on the planet can just click the keypad and suddenly they're listening to Steven Jim Right. The other thing probably is. So facebook. The big grant, the granddaddy of them. All right facebook. Twitter instagram. So when that thing comes along, this is how I have this figured out about why there's almost a million podcasts. Okay. Youtube when these things come. Sums on facebook right and they can post something. On facebook at first came on. Right and people go look at this. You know this guys talking about whatever in three minutes here. And then someone gets the idea of what we should make that. We should do full-time thing here but how do we do it?
