"Hi, Allie welcome to the PODCAST. I'm Madeo. Thank you very much for having me. I'm really excited to talk about we haven't had anybody on the podcast that is speaking directly to yoga and breath work in the way that you teach install very excited to have you today. Thank you I. You know excited and I, Love Hey House and. That last book of Tibet. The newer for health and wellbeing. This is my passion. So yes, excellent. Excellent. There's a there's a number of things I'd like to talk about with you today including your. Your advice on integrating meditation and Yoga into our everyday life and are busy schedule as well as your work with Yoga and breath work in a clinical medical sending including with your with cancer patients. But I, I like to ask you about how you got here how we got here with you, and maybe we can start with your own yoga and meditation training under your revered teachers in Nepal and India. So can you give us a brief version of of how you began your studies to help us situate where you're learning has is coming from Sure sure. Emmy see how brief I can. So really when with the Tibetan tradition, it really started when I in my first trip to India in nineteen, eighty nine. And I was really looking for teacher. I wasn't sure if it was going to be an Indian teacher Tibetan teacher I was more familiar with the teachers I did get to meet with Yuji Christian motifs of not the famous one JD. Wonderful Yuji Chris for more and more. And then some g my analogy, and then actually when I met the two BETTON SAT in La. It really started inspiring me and particularly the way that. They had this devotion to the picture of its own is a Lama and I have to admit I didn't know too much about His Holiness yet. But then doing the trip. It was when he was. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize I was actually cashier at that time I remember reading that in the US favor now it's like Wow so happy a give my mom. My Dad had been awarded the prize and and and I said, I need to meet this man. In fact that evening they showed on the Indian TV. Heart of Tibet. That I la that was actually the forward or was by pressing Carter. And I. So I went from touch me to down silos where the Delilah was. It was. During that time, he was the fortieth anniversary of the children village. That's the first time I saw him talk. Then I went for you know a public interview and I kind of. was trying to be there as much as I could and at the same time I got my first. Personal teacher, which was you should origin. Bodies, Yogi. And he was particularly into the tradition of true and. Whether he was the Weatherman for the Dalai Lama. and. I started training with them I. Did my longer with him or started the non right ended up seventy slater finishing That really led me to come back towards t Tina where I'm originally from. And really start devoting a lot of time to practice and then was in ninety one that. I, I met a number no group chain that he came to Argentina I nine, hundred ninety and I am Alejandra can I can I just mention here that that sort of what you're talking about a little bit is that when the Tibet you mentioned that you met the Delami in in in northern India in Dharamsala. And this is after for our listeners who don't know the when the Dalai Lama a came into exile when he left Bet in one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, nine, he and about two, hundred thousand. Refugees settled in the northern regions of India and where the Dalai Lama lived was Dharmsala, and so that was one of the first places that you went to in. That is sort of this hub of the Tibetan diaspora that is sort of surrounds the Dalai Lama, and then eventually Tibetans have gone of course throughout the world and there's two. Betton. Buddhist. Centers throughout the world and so you were kind of a beneficiary. You came along in nineteen, eighty, nine, nineteen ninety and started studying with some of these teachers who weren't only in India around the dilemma. But who had gone elsewhere you mentioned non-pwi Norbu Rhumba Jay who had gone to to Italy, and then there were other centers where you were living in Argentina. Yes, and so I. I did consider you know for for some time Don, Sala my second home I spend many months there. And that's where actually ish adorned pitches monastery wall. So. As, you said Dharamsala was this hub and I really considered my second home. I spent many months there intermittently going from there to other places and back, and that is really were you had his monastery and and. So meeting the Dalai Lama and trying to be as much as possible with them. But also really having a personal teacher like you should was really important to me so that when I came back to Argentina that I felt there was no one there in luckily I was wrong was a small. Karma Kagyu Center. And also kind of a unique center the first teacher I met when when I go towards. Metering And then Nunca Norman as I mentioned the Nunca over pitcher was a big change for me. In the way he taught. So the Tony Brooke he brought the teachings. Into everyday

'No Words': After Enormous Explosion Rips Beirut, A Search For Answers

"Details on the investigation into yesterday's deadly explosion in Beirut that left 100 people dead, 4000 people injured and another 300,000 homeless. Lebanese officials have now put a number of higher ups at the port in Beirut under house arrest. New York Post says the 2700 tons of fertilizer believed to have caused the explosion had been confiscated from a Russian businessman seven years ago who had abandoned his cargo ship after making an unscheduled stop. It was all being stored in a warehouse where Reuters says there were repeated warnings to local officials since 2013. It was a disaster in the making. Correspondent Ian Panel tells us the smoke continues to rise in Beirut based artist Michela Boots, saying the entire event was surreal before we could even think of what to do next. Everything exploded. And when I mean everything I mean everything as degree was following. I just hid under card people. They were like literally standing behind, actually didn't get so lucky to have a lot of them got hit on the head. Some of them die. Officials in the disaster stricken city now searching for answers about what caused the enormous explosion and, above all, who was responsible. Well, despite the evidence that this was an industrial accident, President Trump has decided otherwise. Here's correspondent Aaron Carter Ski president Trump called the explosion in Beirut and attack. This was not A some kind of a manufacturing. Explosion type of event, A U. S official told ABC News. There are no indications the Beirut explosion came from a bomb or attack, the president of Lebanon said the blast was caused by nearly 3000 tons of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a warehouse. That's 1000 times more ammonium nitrate than was used in the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal building. Pause, on that right now. Call your friends tell them if they can't watch right you should really take this because this is really important important for you and even more important if you could share this with your children because if there's one thing you should know if you want to have a better more meaningful, fulfill deeper richer existence, it is this that the world and everything in this world that this physical reality that we are experiencing right now operates under certain laws y'all know that. And it supersedes everything. It is real and as consistent as the scientific law of gravity or the physical law of cause and effect, and once you begin to understand how the world operate and how fair and just it really is no matter where you are in your life right now, you then can begin to learn to be a more powerful person. So this little book if life is a game these. Are The rules explains ten rules of universal wisdom if you understand and follow them every day every moment, which is hard to be in there. Every moment I'm telling you and we all struggling you'll have a better life and better relationships in your life because you come to know yourself better doctor. Cherie Carter. Scott, is the author of if life is a game these are the rules coming up in. Telling you. Thank you. Read that is great to get a standing ovation. Yeah. Open your mouth yet. How did you come up with these rules? It was in nineteen, seventy, four and somebody turned to me. I was creating a course to teach people how to coach other people and he said, you know it would be so nice if we just had a handbook for living, why don't we have some kind of rules for being human and I said that's it we need. The rules for being human and turned to me and they said, well, what are they and I said, well, you start with the body and they said Okay and then we're and all of a sudden it was as if spirit inside me was speaking and they came through under the paper and there they were plain and simple and I looked at them and I said. I don't know if I'm brilliant enough to create those I listen and I, allowed it to come through there they are. Okay. Rule number one is you will receive a body. So. Who in this room received the perfect body and you know it was just the right one for. You. No. Problem because if we did get that body and we said you know, thank you that's the one I ordered and it's exactly got it would be a different rural but I bet if you look around this room, you see somebody else that's the body I should have gotten. No, that's the one I should've gotten and you would trade you do an exchange but somehow that's not the way it is we are given a body and it's the one that we are meant to make peace with. The rule is you you going to receive a body? Yes. Otherwise we wouldn't be here. Exact. That's how we moving around in the body. Yes, and you may love it or hate it but it is yours for the duration of your life on absolutely. Okay. It's only when you got but yet the reason why so many people have their greatest pain and struggle in that body. Absolutely. Okay. Dinky says she's a perfect example of this rule and what dinky definitely. So much of our society looks at people by their body type and. How they come across in their body, I suffer from gaining weight losing weight gaining weight losing weight. You know just like why do people do? I know I have every reason in the world to be happy. And I have this void within myself and I don't know how to fill that void. I don't know how to to get to the core. Conscience of the Country: A Tribute to John Lewis

"Congressman John Robert Louis was born in Troy Alabama on February twenty first nineteen, forty, two sharecroppers, Willie Mae, and Eddie Lewis. He is known for telling the story of preaching chickens at the boy from troy as he was nicknamed went on to become revered world leader and fearless advocate for voting rights organizing sit ins in. Nashville in nineteen sixty and becoming one of the original freedom writers Mr Lewis joined the Movement for civil rights and never looked back. As the chairman of snake he served as the youngest speaker at the march on Washington in nineteen, sixty three. In nineteen, sixty, five alongside reverend hosea, Williams Congressman Lewis led a march for voting rights across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma Alabama where he endured violent attacks by state troopers and vigilantes. Mr. Lewis fell to the ground with a fractured skull and five months later, president Lyndon B, Johnson signed the voting rights act of nineteen, sixty five until now. On the other side of that bridge Mr Lewis marched on into a life in career of activism and public service. He lost his first attempt at running for Congress in nineteen seventy seven was appointed the same year by President Jimmy Carter to the Director of action a Federal Agency for volunteerism. He then won a seat on the Atlantic City Council in nineteen eighty one and five years later ran for Congress in one. So much of the conversation about congressman, John. Lewis has been about his activism, but he stood on so many legislative accomplishments including sponsoring or co sponsoring more than eleven hundred bills. One of the most notable bills gave us the National Museum of African American History and culture in two thousand three. He served as a subcommittee chair for oversight for the prestigious ways and means. Committee, and after the retirement of Congressman John Conyers. became the dean of the Congressional. Black Caucus in twenty nineteen, he presided over the House floor as Congress passed hr four. Since his passing the bill was renamed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act which was adopted by unanimous consent. Before being admitted to the hospital, MR? Lewis stood in the heart of Black Lives Matter Plaza. He took his last breath on July seventeenth twenty twenty. But his legacy lives on in all of us. We begin this John Lewis. Tribu. where he also began with civil rights joining me for this very important conversation are Vanita Gupta President and CEO of the Leadership Conference on civil and Human Rights Derek Johnson, president and CEO of the of Lacey Pe-. Reverend, Michael Pfleger the senior pastor of the faith community of Saint. SAVINA. Reverend Dr William J Barbour, the second president of repairs of the breach and Co Chair of the poor people's campaign. An latasha Brown, Co founder and chief doer of black voters matter. A thank you all so much for making time to talk with me today about on. John Lewis. So I want to start with I'm. VANITA. Because of your work at the Department of Justice of course. I believe the year before you got to DOJ. The the case, the decision that gutted the voting rights act shelby versus holder, and so I wanna hear from you on some of the things that you experienced working with Mr Lewis on the other side of that because we know that right after that, all of the advocacy picked up to reinstate section five to get the voting rights on provision where they needed to be in Congress. And so just talk a little bit about some of your work with Mr Lewis on those issues. Shore. Is Truly an honor to be here with my. Warrior colleagues and friends and loved ones in the movement. Especially on today Angela. I think probably all of us were in tears watching Mr Lewis Funeral you know twenty thirteen is you mentioned that United States Supreme Court gutted the heart of the voting rights act in a devastating decision the shelby county versus holder decision. That really took away the longstanding tool of one of the most effective pieces of federal legislation in our nation's history in the voting rights act. That quired states with long histories of racial discrimination in voting to pre clear with the United States Justice Department changes made at the local level for election practices that had racially discriminatory impact. And the removal of that tool within hours of that decision coming down for the United. States. Court states like, North Carolina Texas enacted, Monster? Voter. Laws doing everything from. Putting forth restrictive voting laws cutting back early voting same day registration. And it took years to litigate and to hamlet the Justice Department did working with advocates and activists in all states. Where so years for federal courts in a place like North Carolina finally say that the State legislators North Carolina had enacted there. Monster Voter Suppression Law would such surgical precision to disenfranchise African Americans and meanwhile countless elections had taken place but Mr Lewis of legacy was that in the face of this overwhelmingly bad decision for voting rights he immediately. Went to action, which is always his way was never in a would not allow despair to hold him back inside we need to do everything we can restore it in went to work with legislative partners in the Congressional Black Caucus to put forth a bill immediately to restore it on every prior reauthorization of the voting. Rights. Act angelides always been done under. The Watch of Republican president and at least one house of Congress being Republican the unfortunate thing is after this decision, the really has not been bipartisan support and but Mr Lewis Year after year would stand at the podium introduced the law in say or in it for the long haul I've been there before I almost lost my life fighting for this law. In one, thousand, nine, sixty five, and we will persevere to us and we've got to keep our eye on the prize and we're not gonNA. Let go until the day that the bill becomes law. So in this moment. On where we're seeing a lot of performance morning by Senate Republicans who obstructed day after day everything that he has stood for and fought for with his life. It is time not only for us to restore the voting rights act passed the voting rights advancement act but to do everything else that we can to ensure open voting and go beyond it as President Obama said today won't be enough to rest and return to the status quo. It is time for this country to unregarded into make our democracy work for all of us in Gulf Far Beyon- restoration of the voting rights act in this moment.

He's never played an NBA finals game. Why go this route? Why sign with a team like Atlanta? And he said that's just not part of his DNA I. He never wanted to be that Fifteenth Man on the bench shoe would never play a game if he was going to wintering, he wanted to win it being a contributor. Won't so Vince Carter might not have gotten the send off that he expected or deserved, but it certainly was beautiful. Can you walk us through? What might have been his final NBA game last Wednesday? So the NBA announced the suspension of the season, it was it was in the fourth order. Is out tonight that it is suspended. Until further notice that will have more detail. It's suck me like fifteen ish minutes after that to realize that this is probably Vince. "Joining me now I last saw the Nick Carter welcome to I last bothered. Thank you so much for having me. All right, let's start it right here. How many kids do you have? And how old daughter? I got two children. I got a seven month old daughter. And a four year old for in a couple of months year, old boy. All right. You got one. You guys going for the Tiebreaker here or Y'all done. well I think we're done. That's for sure. Yeah, it's it's it's. It's definitely a Lotta Work I. I'm I'm I'm sure there's a lot of other people who are who probably say themselves. Yeah, it's a lot harder 'cause they got like four or five, or you know how many kids, but even to by itself it is a lot and right now the age that that my son Odin in. He's definitely jumping on the couches He doesn't listen and and you know. We got a lot of outs going on, and I'm holding the baby. You know one hand feeding her a bottle of the other and changing diaper, and so if a lot of fun but I. I wouldn't have it any other way. I understand. Yeah, right in that category. Nick I got four kids myself so I know exactly what it's all about here and. Like the gender reveals to find out what you were having both times. Guys wait till the end to find out. How did you work that out? So the first time that I actually did the gender reveal was. When I did dancing with the stars, and that's when I announced that I was having boy. It was actually on the show and. I had all the blue balloons come out when we announced it and my wife was there with me. and then the tech time actually with my daughter. We did A. It was we did like a golf ball like hit, and it was an epic fail, and basically we tried to hit this golf ball, and actually had my son gotta hit the Golf Ball and it didn't break, and and so it was what it was, but yeah, those are the two kind of gender reveals that we did we had. Some of those super yacht is sometimes you try to plus them things open they budget. Right yeah. If you could just take a second here to hit my listeners a little bit about your background and what you do. well. I'm one of the backstreet boys. I am the youngest guy in the group I've been in the group for twenty seven years and you know. Since I was twelve years old. I've been back. She boy and Yeah I'm currently on tour with the group We're on tour. the DNA world tour. We had to postpone it B- for obvious reasons. But some new days up. later next year. You can go on actually dot com. Really my main job right now is being a father in is what I live for. Yeah very cool making. About how old were you when you first became a dad and had to becoming a dad? Change Your perspective on life. well I became a dad with my my time when I was thirty, seven roughly and was definitely it was everything that I had ever dreamed of as far as just you know being able to to have you know someone who I could just just love unconditionally and and someone who and I never knew. That love could be so strong and Yeah, so that's when it first happened was when I was around thirty seven years old with my son's. Yeah! Yeah well I know mentioned air. You'll lose it to the pandemic. Obviously, it's changed the lives of all of us here and I know. You teamed up with boss recently. What was the genesis of that response in? well spe-. the hardest part I think about being Wanting to help. And then at the same time you know doing the right thing and you know staying doing the social distancing and staying at home, and and and just being responsible You know you you, you see all the things that are happening. You know through social media, and and how the pandemic is actually affecting people's lives, and and and obviously the the first line responders, and and all the essential workers there who who you know are working endlessly and tirelessly every single day, and the the nurses and the doctors. Who are? Risking their lives, you know for for the lives of other people as I was watching. These things happen I'm like you know I. Would I want to jump in with my car, and just like drive at the hospital, and and you know deliver water or deliver food, or whatever it is, and in normally we would be able to do that, but obviously in this climate we cannot. teamed up with us. and we had this idea of delivering over two thousand bottles water to the Brooklyn's Mount Sinai Hospital, which obviously everyone knows that you know. New York City and very affected as well as other places all around the country, and so. We were able to do that and you can go to my social media. You can see how how it turned out. And all the nurses and doctors received the water and. They were really grateful for it, and it just feels good to give back in any way that we can. We obviously we all also did something when the when the pandemic I. STRUCK WE! We did a something with Fox Typically a benefit without John we did that when it first happened, and so we've been trying to find creative ways to give back while we have to be responsible auntie back home and lost in one of those incredible. Companies and and They were able to to help with that. Yeah good stuff, Nick! One of the most encouraging thing during the pandemic has been seeing people like you in a position that you ran to step up and do so much to help so many people out so that's been one of the most encouraging things about or most inspirational things about the pandemic to see so many good people doing good things here, and and back into you as a dad here what are some of the top values that you hope to instill in your kids growing up? Well. I think it's first and foremost. education is is really important to me, Because in reading which, from a very young age I had was doing with my son Whether it was just. My wife likes to make fun of me like that movie as it Parent parenthood with the you know. Rick Moranis doing the flash cards in the closet like I was kind of Dad. You know like where I want them to be able to have a great start. You know I one of the things. I I didn't I. Wasn't really an avid reader and I didn't learn to read to later on in life, so you know I feel like reading was very very important, so obviously you know giving them a couple of fundamental so that they can really that they can. Can really just kind of fend for themselves. You know and be able to just be able to integrate into society, because it's very fast society, you know there's you know it's all about reading aside. You know you got to be so anyways. Things like that small things. Obviously you know I wanNA. Smother them with love I'm holding my children all the time I'm always Just you know doing things with them, you know. If you go to my social media, you'll see I'm. Doing you know sports, I you. Know I know. He's told me for years old, but exposing them to activities. You know we're always. We're at home. We're working out. You know I I work out with my wife. You know we trade with each other you know and he'll come in, and he'll do some like you know. Stretching and yoga poses and meditation, so like all these things. Here's the thing. I know that my children are watching and they're and I. Just obviously the Kinda that I want to be is a loving, inspirational and educating father, so those are all the things that I want to be for them. Yeah very well said Nick and I think reading is important. I love what you say there, too. I'm a big reader myself. I try to read a book every week and always got my kids involved in reading as well now when it comes to bedtime. What does your bed time looks like you read them stories, or are you singing them? So you know what some songs from the old backstreet boys there?.

"Go ahead. I thought she was being sarcastic because she knew where the conversation was going. She knew he was talking himself into and she was just like she was like a thousand bucks. That's like relatively speaking. It's just not enough money for that sort of a commitment so yeah because then at the end of it she just said she says also Wendy you start and he was like Monday or something. Yeah no I think you're right. I think it was our cast but I sort of also like pass I was like what is she like thousand bucks and by the way it turns into fifteen hundred dollars for former not to criticize debbi. Morgan's acting but I don't think she pulled off the sarcasm all that well. I guess you're GonNa you're GonNa do this no matter what I say. I'm not going to get to go to Mexico and this but I thought maybe the money was good for the time in the location and I guess he's not a teacher there but he's got a store that they do establish doing well and that's the other plotline his store and his his helper guy his employees whose mad that he's not there helping us. We had a great week. Like yeah. You weren't here to help me. It's been crazy. I'm swamped over here. You want them to develop that story yes I did. I was very interested. He wants Carter sporting goods to be tone. Spit on some of guys off of that. I will say. I don't know how that store was doing all that. Well with the sign edge that especially ones your window got smashed like take the time like. Let's really dive into making this look a little better than just that. Carter's reporting story all right. What else I guess. That's it I mean you know you just wanted all this other stuff. Here's the point is there's way too much in this movie. There's too many stars and didn't need half of them. Yeah that's not what are you didn't. I'm surprised he didn't have maybe the possibility of what's going on with channing tatum. His Dad's in jail. Yeah that's a great you know he's coming from what appears to be a broken home but We don't really get much of it and just see as not his uncle's stands up in is. It was that in the meeting. I in his uncle and this is all he has right the basketball all items that he wears on his head. That's all. He has cutoff shirt sleeve on the head candidate. Great Luck it was pretty cool to see some old clothing lines that I had told her about the party. Party scenes seeing NHA NYC or guard. Haven't seen that so You know there's a lot of Sean John. Chainey `tatoes definitely weren't Sean John and one in the in the scene in the back in the gym where all their deaths set up someone's wearing a Sacramento Kings Jersey. But we never get to see if he's yeah there's in two thousand four two thousand four two thousand and five so who would have been on the back. Stoyanovich maybe Weber. I would think whoever was trade. It didn't didn't get traded around into Philadelphia or was one year old. That's another thing I would like. This was when Chris Webber got traded. How did these guys react? To THEIR JOURNEY JERSEY. Did they burn up? Well you think about it now. You'd never see a Sacramento Kings Jersey in a movie right now would you? I mean that was probably the last time we saw Kings Jersey in a movie was back in the playoffs. Since Lady Bird Kings Lady Bird the only other Sacramento movie around Cleveland says the Richmond by Sacramento. Sorta make sense we also like Sacramento College afterwards. Right Mr Three point whatever. Want Potential Dad. Is that Kenyan? Yes yes he goes to the sex. The Jerseys also. I spotted there was a Blazers Wallace Jersey. Nice there was a pacers. Run Our testers. -I you see that one. Yeah that was nice. You also see like a bullets Jersey in the background. I'm not sure what player it was. There's a Sixers Jersey to at one point it was Worms wearing it at one. I can't remember if I remember Split Paul Pierce Jersey Green and white. Yeah I sorta want now a custom. Kate Carter Oilers Jersey. But I'm trying to figure out what the throwback from when Ken play. Yes seventy one seventy two. Yes exactly I would go with the look. That's right. I hope they better look at jerseys than the ones they eat their look. I don't like that. Color Palette unrealized an orange. Yeah not a fan of it. Not that's why brings you back to high school a lot of ugly jerseys back in high school. Yeah you're right does like in terms of the baggage of all the close. My God we were Rockin like you said the sort of ugly look the jerseys. The the gym really did remind me a little bit of our High School Gym. 'cause we had we sort of two gyms and our high school. We had the one big Jim which was more like a Brighton normal gym but then we had what we called like the Dungeon and it was sort of like a like the floor was it was like super old non a lot of light. It felt like similar. There's looked a little bigger than what we had. But does take you back. Takes you back to your high school basketball planned east no doubt about that and truthfully we ran a lot of suicides was many push ups. I don't remember a lot of those all about the suicide. Did the math For me are suicides. Were free throw linebacker core back other free. Throw line back. Same full-court court back. Yeah if you just did full court in back down and back a thousand times thirty one miles that's without like the inbetween. So this guy was cruise. WanNa he ran. A marathon easily ran a marathon over a couple of days but why really came in and. I assume that he had to do it during practice. Time so agree. Is it possible? Yeah it's possible. Yeah definitely I mean if you do what two hundred two hundred for five days so six miles a day during during running during practice plus you gotta push ups in see. I thought it was a Wednesday and I thought he's still pulled off even in two days. Speaking of days of the week I thought he came up short though remember because everyone else had to help him and they were and how. How was that God tracking? Who's doing what and how many you know even mentioned him at the first time it was just cruise along like. Oh actually we gotta gotTa keep track. It's an honor system address. Yeah yes speaking of days of the week. I thought the parents were protesting that they had to play that big school on a Saturday high school basketball on a Saturday. Does that happen tournaments against those league game? The Fremont game exactly Friday. Sure but you have to come in on a Saturday. Yikes did you guys have in your viewing unedited version of this movie. Because I was watching sort of through. Amc AMC and I saw the the warning. And then I was like mom renting this so. Oh Wow is it says edited for content. I'm like well yeah I mean I don't. I really don't even know what I was missing. Who was there a sex scene between shot in the ninety nine cent seen am yes? I did get that. I was the closest okay. Ed Okay you think in ninety nine cents. Sex Cafeteria doesn't offline during my returned into bogus. Yeah Yeah I got that too. Yeah I was watching the edited version. A. PUT DOT by win. Rainy died the demo yells that got by the diversion but no other swears. Did they play this? Kid skied song. Soundtrack was very good. I think it's a big reason why this movie. I think it is. This is themselves are fine the score fine but I didn't like that. They played that song at a high school dance with Seventeen Year. Old Girl giant. Starting to be an old man the soundtrack ebanks look fabulous. Ching CIARA. Connie common faith twist Saint Lunatics Trey Songz. And then yeah little. John's get low is any R D. Was that song is Great. Cool J Otis. Redding saw telling your body girl that song that was that was a hit in the sky and shake be bopping stacked stacked especially if that was your like era if you were in high school in two thousand five. I mean it was passed my time but it's like wow if that's all the songs you heard that dances and parties and stuff like that you like to compare enough fair. And what's not you didn't like the get low at the as at the one with skeet. Skeet LIKE DORY. It's not on the soundtrack just in the movie but they didn't put on central rights to it. I guess yeah. How do you get the rights for the movie but it can only help you anyways? That song did okay. So they're all good did lead. You have a favorite random observation from this movie. Well just coach. Cada wore a suit with a tie like all the time during practice which I thought was a bit crazy. I understand on Game Day but I've never ever ever seen a coach in practice in a suit and tie first-day shore I get it. But then like when? They're just going through their regular practices. And he's still in that. I'm just like wouldn't you get uncomfortable? I mean you know like you WanNa get on the court sometimes. Show the guys what you're GONNA do. But he's there with the suit on thought and I I understand. He's trying to send a message and lucky wants them to wear ties and stuff on David jury practice like. That would just be very very uncomfortable for me. I think so you know I thought he could have. Just got the sweats on or a pair of shorts and also wouldn't the coach at some point. Just want to be shooting shooting around a little bit himself. Great Question. Samuel Jackson dribbles the ball one time movie and then he puts his foot on this one. He sat on a very smoothly too. I thought he was going down. Yeah Yeah I would have been like team Cruz. This guy comes in here. Asked me to sign a contract. Run all this. Get my grades up. Make a free throw coach. Show your shop. Yeah he's up there on the band. Carter Kyle Carter. Wow that's a that's a twist not the actual. Wow like that. Did you have to wear trae or anybody else have to wear jackets ties on Game Day? We did until we got travel suits. We had to wear a tie freshman and sophomore year. Once you made varsity had cooled. Traveling suits traveling like sweat like a pair of Purple Pants and zip up like Oh kind of jacket pretty lead. You have to wear a tie. Do you have to dress up for game days. I guess none not in high school now. We just turned up in a whatever..

"G. driving performance now. There are two sports in America that I do think have an advantage. They're not beholden David to advertisers because advertisers once they flee you lose a lot of money and a super bowl can make sports network over five hundred million dollars in just adds so the. Wwe is run. Sort of a maverick Vince. Mcmahon there's a pay per view model in place the UFC now has gone behind. Espn pluses paywall. Dana white similar. To Vince McMahon sort of Alpha and again not dependent either the wwe or the UFC is dependent on advertising dollars. So they don't care about the pushback they get on social media my I looked at UFC. And I thought Actually Dana White's always been hyper aggressive in terms of how he runs his business. Ufc could hold these without fans. I mean you you put the camera on the Octagon of all the sports I look at that could start I i. I don't know why my goes to the UFC your thoughts on that. Well I think sports have very very avid fan. Base are going to be protected. Especially if those fans are used to spending money On media to watch those events and secondarily the two that you're talking about wwe and UFC. They don't have unions so they have different Capabilities when it comes to hosting events and working with them and that might be a distinct advantage that they have over say collective bargaining that we see in the other leagues. Now that's really interesting. David Carter Professor of sports business did not think of that you're the NBA. And you could absolutely start your season. You could just call the owners and say listen regular seasons over. We are going to start our playoffs. Let's just say July fifteenth four months from now about the time of the Olympics. We're GONNA start our. We're going to eliminate the bottom four seeds in each conference. We're going to five game series. We're going to wrap it up by Labor Day in terms of business. Do you think you could sell that to owners? Do you think because I I do believe last year. The Spurs Nuggets First Round series. David it lasted. It lasted two weeks. You do back to back games. In the playoffs. You can shorten playoff series from seven games to three games or five. How long do you think it's possible for Adam? Silver David to push and push and push. What are you going through his mind because boy you do not want to give up this Lebron year. You mean this bear is revenue lost. Here how far do you think he'll go on the push? Well I think I think the extent to which he's going to push board is going to be determined by how many players in the League are continuing to test positive if we had a couple of Lakers test positive yesterday. You've got to believe that there may be more around the league and and so it's not just a business issue for him. It'll become a public relations issue for him just like the testing of athletes for multiple teams became a PR issue for he and his crew earlier in the week. I think from a business standpoint when you think about getting into the summer That gets complicated. Because you're starting to see some other events being pushed to the summer other competition such as family vacations and and other things that might affect. Tv Ratings for instance. So it's not you know a little bit like a Rubik's cube giving you try to solve one part of it and you have these cascading problems On the other side for example what about some of these newer owners owners in in sports in general they have a lot of debt on their teams. They might not be able to afford to sit out whereas others. That are very well diversified. They've got multiple assets real estate and all the rest you know they may say. Let's just do what's right for some individual owners for whom their team is their sole major asset..

"How do you think Vince? Carter will be remembered by basketball fans. What's his legacy? I think he is probably best in game dunker. We have seen and it's unfortunate though that that's his legacy because those first few seasons and Serano you could see him becoming one of the game's greatest players. There was a time where it was looking like. Vince was going to be one of those next all time. Just legends and those knee injuries really set him back and he never really reached his full potential. You know he pete's very very early and and for over a decade now like he's been a six man and journeyman like we spoke of and it's unfortunate because it's also career where you look back on and say you know what could have been if he if he didn't have these injuries. The players talk about looking up to Michael Jordan and looking up to Kobe Bryant. Lebron James Vince Carter. At one point he was the guy you wanted to emulate in your yard or he was the guy who wanted to emulate on the streets. I grew up in the Bronx and not a lot of greenspace in the Bronx. But whenever there was a hoop you wanted to try and throw down a dunk between your legs. Because Vince Carter was doing that he was the guy you wanted to to be like when you were older in for my age. I'm twenty seven and a lot of these kids in the NBA. My Age and even younger like he was the guy who was the definition of cool. Thanks much Chris.

"Sue Chris Vitriol from rafters fans toward Vince. Carter Alas about a decade. You've been here for a long time. You Seen Vince Gladys best first year. Was Vince quarters. I will they ever forget. There'll be a segment that will never forget during that time. Vince becomes a journeyman. Essentially you know. He goes from the nets to the Magic to the sons to the mavs to the grizzlies. He's booed relentlessly every time he goes back to Toronto with any of these teams and in two thousand fourteen when he's back in Toronto. There's just this amazing moment. When the team honors him with a video tribute harder as received a standing ovation that has brought tears to his eyes they just showed a video tribute of parter on the big screen at first a lot of fans started booing and then they started rising and Chris. Endo the guy that used to call air. Canada has been cheered loudly. And maybe there is some closure awesome. Ac- that reaction because that's when it really started turning into you know him being celebrated once again and just from talking with them for these past two seasons you could sell. How much Toronto means to him. He just loves that city. He's invested in that city. He's done a ton of Kamson Toronto He's tried his best to give back to the Canadian born players who grew up watching him and now to finally see that back in twenty fourteen firms solve. It really meant everything to him because he had finally felt that he was forgiven. And it's hard to pinpoint exactly why Toronto fans forgave him. But do you think this is just a matter of time passing in this case a lot of time passing. Yeah I think so and Toronto. They were starting a new chapter with Kyle lowry and Marta rose. In you know those were Toronto's new guys you know. They became the face of the franchise so I think it was a matter of just them becoming a relevant once again in the NBA. Do you think that Canadian basketball fans just once they were able to kind of. Turn the page with this new guard and with a new look for their team that they were able to really just kind of sit back and evaluate. What Vince Carter meant to basketball in their country? Absolutely because when he got serano there. Were no kids playing in the streets and dribbling basketballs. You didn't see basketball. Hoops on every block or you know people wearing raptors jerseys that really change when you know that team and himself in particular really put basketball on the forefront of people's minds so. I think that was probably a big reason why Canadian fans overtime said you know what? Vince did a lot for Toronto. And this country and it's probably time to turn that page there now. Vince is forty three. He's the only player who has played in four different decades. You've covered him with the hawks where he's been the last couple of years. How is his role different? Now in the League then it was back in his superstar days. Both on and off the court. Yeah I mean on the Court. Obviously due to his age and physical limitations. He's not dunking the ball anymore. It's a rare treat to see Vince. Dunk is he doesn't in warm ups like he still has it but in Game Situation. It's just rare so on on the court you know he's more so just become a three point specialist off the court. He's the father figure in the locker room. He's the guy that the rookies wants to turn to and yet as much advice and as much wisdom as they possibly can. That's what it's all about just sharpening the minds and opening new ideas and opportunities for them and be tough on them and just get them ready. Do Best I can. He loves when the rookies and second year third year players asking questions because he wants to impart what he learned throughout his entire journey into the new age like he wants his experiences to live through them. And especially with this hawks team. It's really really young roster and he's pretty much an extension of the coaching staff for the Hawks. He's the one showing is how to properly position their feet when they're shooting threes. He's the one telling. Trae young how to navigate the media and how to navigate becoming a superstar in the league like he loves that and. I think it's rare to have someone Vince who's obviously going to be a future hall of. Famer. WanNa take time out of his day to to make the next generation as good as he possibly can in perhaps one of the more poetic moments that we've seen in a in a superstars late career. Vince did throw down a dunk To pass the twenty five thousand point threshold last year Bitch. Fires back to at best. Buy Welcome to the Pantheon. The greatest stores there was awesome and it happened against the raptors to you know just being at that game you could sell that. He really really wanted to get the twenty five thousand points against the raptors. I'm happy I'm thankful for this opportunity to a very elite group. I mean I don't care if famer not I'm in a group where when you talk about storing it's not many can say they have this many points so man I'm thankful the raptors were. They understood what was going on. So they kind of you know docked off a little bit on defense specially when he drove down the lane and then got that dunk and got his twenty-five thousand point a understood the moment so that was really cool to see because again like this is a guy who's an icon and in raptors history and so watch the current iteration of the raptors. Do that for advance. It was really special to be there because you could tell how much respect Vince has. And that's probably the coolest part of these past two seasons you go to any arena. Detroit the guys in the Pistons Locker Room. Just have an immense amount of respect for Vince. He was one of the guys. They looked up to when they were younger. And so just watch the smile on their face and see dairy action to getting to play him. It's awesome and that's something again. That's that's part of Vincent's legacy just how beloved he became especially in this latter half of his career. So there are a couple of unique aspects to the final years of Vincent Career and one is that he never chased the ring right like he never demanded to go to a contender to get a championship. You know he agreed to sign and resign with Atlanta which. Let's be honest as a lottery bounty him. Why do you think Vince? Carter was not obsessed with getting a championship. That was one of the first questions I asked Vince. When he first signed with Atlanta you know I asked him like. You're bound for the hall of fame. You don't have a championship. You haven't really come close to winning a championship. He's never played an NBA finals game. Why go this Y sign with a team like Atlanta. And he said that's just not part of his DNA. I Ki- never wanted to be that fifteenth. Man on the bench shoe would never play in a game if he was going to win a ring he wanted to win it. Being a contributor won't so Vince Carter might not have gotten the send off that he expected or deserved but it certainly was beautiful. Can you walk us through? What might have been his final and be game last Wednesday so the NBA announced the suspension of the season. It was in the fourth order. Is the tonight that it is respected. It's not that detail. It took me like fifteen ish minutes after that to realize that this is probably Vince. Carter's final game so the fans. I think when the fans saw that the NBA announced that the season was going to be suspended. A lot of them were chanting. We want Vince Vince..

"Even so the case didn't quite feet from the spotlight scholars and writers were eager to explore the issues of online bullying. Technology and free speech raised by Conrad's death in July of two thousand nineteen. Hbo released a two part documentary entitled. I love you now die the Commonwealth versus Michelle Carter the film explored Michelle and Conrad's relationship and the resulting trial. Michelle declined to participate. But many members of Conrad's family sat for interviews in the Atlantic's review of the documentary writer. Sophie Gilbert talked about the cultural significance of the case saying it's messy in a way that indicts Carter less than the culture. She was raised in one where doctors prescribed drugs to teenagers without a real sense of their impact on developing brains and were digital. Technology has become ubiquitous so quickly that ethical framework surrounding its usage haven't had time to catch up meanwhile the Massachusetts legislature was working to rectify some of the legal gaps brought to light by the case on July twenty fourth two thousand nineteen the state legislature filed a bill entitled Conrad's law under the new regulations. Coercing someone into committing or attempting suicide could be punished by up to five years in prison in November. Two Thousand Nineteen Conrad's mother. Lynn testified in front of the Massachusetts Legislature Judiciary Committee in support of the bill. She said truth be told if this law existed. My son's case would have been settled more easily. Michelle Carter was released on Thursday January. Twenty Third Two thousand twenty three months short of her fifteen month sentence. Her release came early due to good behavior. A spokesman for the Bristol County Sheriff's Office said while she was here we had no problems with her. No fights no gangs nothing like that. She was polite to her. Staff are volunteers and she was in a lot of programs. I guess the best way to say it is. She was sort of a model inmate here. In Bristol. County Michelle's parents picked her up from the Bristol County House of corrections around nine thirty in the morning the twenty three year old emerged from prison looking tired and sombre. She kept her head down as she walked when she got inside her parents car. She lay her head down against her mother's shoulder. Several reporters waited outside the jail to watch her release. But Michelle made no comment as they drove away after being convicted for the impact of her words. Michelle Carter now. Seem to feel that. "On August third two thousand Seventeen Michelle returned to court for sentencing. Conrad Roy family hoped she'd get the maximum penalty of twenty years. The prosecutors were asking for seven to twelve instead. The judge sentenced Michelle to two and a half years in the Bristol. County House of correction but Michelle would ultimately only serve fifteen months. The rest would be suspended. Judge money's favourite a lenient sentence because he felt that Michelle's young age offered a greater chance of rehabilitation. In addition Michelle wasn't required to go to prison right away. She and her lawyer had decided to appeal her conviction and she was allowed to stay at home while her appeal worked. Its Way through the courts the Roy and Carter families remained in limbo while they awaited the outcome. Michelle couldn't make any public statements out of fear that it might jeopardize her appeal. All she could do was anxiously await a ruling on her fate finally in early February of two thousand nineteen after a year and a half the Massachusetts Judicial Supreme Court issued its decision rejecting Michelle's appeal and upholding her conviction. Conrad's family was relieved to hear about Michelle would finally face justice more than four and a half years after his death. Conrad's and Janice reportedly said it will be a good end a kind of closure on February eleventh two thousand nineteen twenty two year. Old Michelle Carter was escorted to the Bristol County Correctional Facility where she would serve out her term in prison. Michelle got a job in the kitchen as a server. She enrolled in the facilities educational programs taking courses in engine repair spreadsheet design and civics. She also joined a book club. Prison officials described her as reserved and quiet. After our case had become a media spectacle. She didn't seem to want any extra attention.

"Podcast is your source for Good News Fun Stories Auditory Delight and Sonic Joy. We're bringing you all of this goodness from beautiful downtown Chicago. Katie you Jimmy Carter former former. Us President thank you for clarifying. What is something you know about him as factoid? I know that he was a peanut farmer. He was a peanut farmer. And it's fun to think of him. I don't actually know peanuts grow. I have no idea how I have never seen a peanut in the wild. I don't know what they dangled and trees like apples. But that's insane. I don't think that's right a dumping ground lag. A CAM legumes. What does that mean? They are not a tree nut. That's what leg. Im's main legume is like a bean. And that means that you're on the ground. Well no I think it's like a Green Bean you've picked. Have you picked green beans? Oh you picked like snap peas. No they're low to the ground. You pluck them from a little boy. I know it's not a Bush. No I do. I feel well no. It's twenty twenty less confident. I could be wrong about so. I'm not one hundred percent sure that it's Bush but I feel long tree. I feel pretty confident peanuts. Dunker entrees and don't run bushes. Well later we'll google it later. There's no time now now. He grew past tense peanuts in his small town in Georgia called planes to small towns And on the farmland that used to grow peanuts now there are so panels. How wait where are the peanuts? I don't know I don't think he's GonNa. They're not trendy anymore well times of change for the peanut industry. That's right so he's got so he's got solar panels on his farmland and he is single handedly with those solar panels powering half the town is freaking suite on a good day. He can power something like four hundred homes with solar panel says personal. Solar people are getting free. Electricity from Jimmy Carter. If I lived in planes I would turn on a light switch and say thanks Jimmy Matt Georgia accent. Thanks Jim thanks Jimmy. That's really call a reason. This is interesting. Is that in. Nineteen seventy nine. He put solar panels on the White House because he felt really strongly about it. He was a big proponent of solar energy and thought it was really important. People know about it so that either would have some staying power or become like this relic of history. So he put it on the White House. Ronald Reagan immediately took them off now. Those White House. Solar panels are in like museums. Really the world. Yeah I another thing I was just hearing about on. Npr again solar panels used to be like kind of joke because they were very very expensive. Share if natural gas coal was like five cents for a unit. Solar power is like a dollar right one. Eight Times is expensive right. I heard that too. Yeah but just recently. They said that's what you're running. Low the switch Rooney snails cheap cheap cheap cheap cheaper to somebody called up. Jimmy Carter to personally apologize. I mean I bet. He was mocked and chastised and I bet he deserves an apology. I know he does. He was a forward thinker. So Katie my question to you is on a personal note. I'm an open but I'm GonNa ask that you tell me what crop you would have like to grow. And then let either currently or in the future you would like that crop to be replaced by so for Jimmy peanuts and then solar panels and you already asked me what Crappo. Well the answer's Levin's okay. So you would have a lemon orchard out of well. We don't know that I feel really have a lemon Bush will. We're attacking that. Oh no I'd like eleven of Kado Hybrid. How so but your salads and Guacamole is our Tartan hanging and once I move past. I guess I'd like them to be replaced with our house. No I don't think of it as an evolution of your spirit. Okay so I'm really into tear it. Avacado is right now in the the future. Yeah I guess in the future. I'd like it to be those massage chairs at the airport. You put the money in. Or it's like a weird postured chair. We put your face in a donut and your legs rest really comfortably. Great good well. Here's mine okay. I'm thinking strawberry. Patch kills drivers a really fun and then for whatever reason and this is unlike me. I'm imagining that. I scrape up all those drivers and I have a quarter mile race. Track like where people can drive. Little Dune buggy like small like not full sized cars like eight hundred eighty s like inbetween carts and cars. And I don't think there's little race cars called but they've got like a big like sale on top like a bumper. No No. It's definitely not that either. Some like a wagon healer getting further. "Guys. I'm Emma. I'm Julie and we're the girls behind common spice lives and this is a little bit different than are typical episodes. I'd say so here's the deal basically every week we do a bonus Kardashian. Show where we recap Sunday's keeping up there was no keeping up this week and it just so happened that we had been wanting to do a bonus episode on Aaron Carter and everything going on for a while now so it lined up perfectly for us to do this week. Here's the deal for anybody. That's it's unaware. Although I feel like if you click on this you at least have some sort of interest basically over the past month or two. We've seen some behavior from Aaron Carter that has sparked a lot of headlines lines and a lot of news and people are really curious as to what's going on and when I say to Julie last week was if this wasn't our job there is physically no way that I would have been able to keep keep up with it because it's so much it is our job and it's still hard teeny bop yeah so what I'm saying is. I really wanted to do this podcast because we both felt like we wanted to kind of inform form everyone that's curious but doesn't have the time to to really deep because it's it's hours worth of stuff. Oh my God I was working on this online for like probably two weeks you were and plus the the other thing that's so different about this situation that others is that he is you know doesn't have a publicist doesn't have anything which we'll get into so he's really taking the narrative in his own own hands so he's doing things much more frequently than other celebrities would for example. This guy goes live every single day and in every one of those lives. There's important content so it's it's just a lot. We're going to do as best as we can to kind of. Give you a general overview for what's going on and I would also. I think it's important to explain that you're far more invested in this than the average person yeah. That's like a fair warning for when you're going to be when you're going to be listening to this will chime in with a really random facts and you're going to be like like. I've thought I was keeping up but how does she. It's because she is really and just as investors she is. Let's profits the story by saying we recently left. La We had a whole week in L. A. and at the end of the like what was the best part we all went around said like what was your peak and pay whatever and we're like what was your best part meanwhile keeping my we had a whole week in La Okay and then we went to palm springs for her birthday with my dad with her dad and her two best friends in the entire world and what was your part of the trip. She goes probably Eric Harder on the no a job for podcast I like are you literally fucking getting me and I still to this day a minute ago. I said Julie I'm telling you. It's still top five and I will get into all the way that we're doing. This episode is we're going to start with a little bit of a history on their family because it's so important that you have some kind of stepping stones to really understand what's going on because if you just hear this yet it's crazy but then once you hear the back on you're like Holy Shit. Okay ready them. I am ready okay again a little bit of background and then we get into today so there are five members of his immediate nuclear family including plus an additional two siblings fling so his oldest brother is Nick Carter obviously from the backstreet boys. He has an older sister Bobbie Jean an older sister Leslie who passed away a twin sister angel. There's of course Erin his two parents Jane and Robert. His Dad passed away and their two other siblings that His dad had had from a new marriage after divorce right correct okay so when you think Nick Carter and Aaron Carter. I feel like they in a lot of ways a pick hit. Him is what we think of of teen sensations right right so nick at only thirteen years old was when they formed the backstreet boys Aaron was six at the time just for context and you know the backstreet boys from that was in Nineteen ninety-three in nineteen ninety six was when they kind of I had their real big hit and an only one year leader nine hundred ninety seven is when Aaron has his he was born in eighty seven so this is only ten years from the time that you know not only. It's very rare rare to have one child sensation in the family. Let alone another at the exact same time which I think also says a lot about the way they grew up in what their parents were like totally which were so. GonNa get into listen. I'm not going through. We're not going through every single detail of his life. We just picked out the things that I think are important for you guys to get a better understanding of current day so in two thousand and September of two thousand Aaron was twelve. He released Aaron's Party. Which for those of you listening. I hope the nostalgia is kind of flooding you. The how was I want Candy Errands Party. Those were I mean as a kid. There was nothing was those were songs of our childhood. I mean when I think of Eric Harder. I think of him performing. I Want Candy on the Hillary. Duff episode was also the scandal and of of himself because he's dating Hillary Duff and Lindsay law at the same time. If there's so much so much it was like it epitomized early two thousand it really did so he some of the other big points of his career was he performs the opening act for the backstreet boys and Britney and when he was thirteen he recorded oh Aaron it was released in two thousand one at that was his first ever duet recording with nick so of course once we get into present day and you'll hear how tumultuous listen toxic nick and Aaron's relationship was. It's important to understand that yet. He may have had issues growing up but they were at the core of it very tight knit right. They collaborated together together. They were both they were close. Even with the issues like right. It's one of those things where I think that publicly they made it seem like there there were zero issues there and probably under the surface there was a lot more than we saw a lot more than they let on and maybe even as close as we thought they were back then they weren't actually but the perception was was that these were to be inseparable brothers. Exactly I also WanNa take a moment to talk for a second about their mom so their mom Jean she was nick and errands commander and the the story that has been painted is that she basically focused her attention on whoever was bringing in the most money at the time and she she was which again we will get into more now. She had a lot of alcoholism and a lot of it was not easy for her being the stage mom because she was some points on the road when she wasn't on the road. There was a lot of drinking going on in a lot of toxicity I think in her marriage and her their dad her husband got divorced in two thousand thousand three so a lot of scandals happen around this time because apparently after the divorce she had removed one hundred grand from errands bank account without without his permission and the dad was who showed in this like there was a lot of back in there was a lot of reports about money issues that was like the main thing with the mom and there was a lot the things that came out in the news about her either taking money without his permission them both nick an IRA not being paid the amount that they were supposed to be it was always painted this picture of the mother who used her kids for their fame and for the money like she was profiting off of them and that was always the picture that was painted are totally which is now whoa again when we get into today's stuff it's really interesting how that kind of manifested itself but in two thousand four which was a year after the divorce their mom. Jane gets arrested and charged with battery. Sorry for beating up her ex-husband's new girlfriend so like a lot of stuff was going on here by no means was even if this family was close at times comes by no means was it ever on chaotic there was there was a lot of ways something they almost thrived in the cavs. Today were used to which brings us to do. You have a memory three of like all of 'cause I don't. I'm only saying like knowing what I'm reading. The News. Reports were at the time but do you have a member of their family being catcher yeah. I think the reason that this this whole story kind of accord maybe because and I'm forgetting it but I I think I had an attachment like I was in love with any of the cars but I I I think I was really interested in their dynamic. I watched house of carters. which is what I didn't I? I I think that I was I think I was too young to have a memory ory of like even as I was doing admittedly even as I was doing this. I was like was Erin. Not In the backseat like there was a part of me that was like Oh yeah. He wasn't a backstreet Roy Moore No. I think that that's a comment. That's the thing that a lot of people especially that's when are like three your age difference play anyway so in two thousand six their family stars in the show called. House of carters and it was all the siblings and it was on me and basically they all moved into a house together in La.. They hadn't live together in like ten years altogether. Aaron was nineteen at the time and it was the himmy of early two thousands reality show right yeah we did it. We watched episodes of this just to kind of get us into this head space and I really do recommend watching. We'll tell you the specific episode because it's it is absolutely no it is imperative to fully understand all right. Well I think before we get into what clip Emma's talking about I think I think the first thing is in the first episode just to explain that is when you really see the dynamic between all the siblings and there's this one scene where they sit down and they have dinner together and you really explains the dynamic when Nick goes around and ask everyone what they're doing in their lives like in the most basic like why are you still pursuing your are you still they'll doing modeling like they were so uninvolved in each other's lives at this point except for the way it seems that nick and Aaron really knew what was going on but the other siblings seems so removed as they're going through it was like none of them knew what was going on in the others life and I think there was one part where nick was talking about like maybe Leslie or maybe the older one and says I haven't seen her in ten years. Yeah exactly what Julie saying is important. That's why I'm telling you. You should wash like if you if you care the first twenty minutes the first episode just to kind of get the vibe because it's on Youtube but anyway this this show..

How about modeling whatever you got discovered a little bit yeah the Hollywood kind of happened and so for this was February of two thousand ten and that was such a pivotal year for me? I'll spin while later but so for weeks gi mailing me. Send me a picture Blah Blah Blah so I finally did and I got a I got a request to go down to world of wonder it was on a Wednesday I happen to be off and this was after weeks of telling them of ignoring because when you're you're just like whatever believe the Hollywood casting couch all heard of like who send me photos maybe I'll model exactly ackley model mayhem partly no trae pick trade for pick and so I did and I thought that final day they were like you need to come in today and I was like cool whatever I winning world of wonder owns the headquartered illness amazing building awful Cherokee and Hollywood boulevard to six stories and so down the bottom of the basement they shoot a lot of their content and so they put me on green screen and told me to dance in my underwear. They're going to put anything behind you to an ancient Egypt or some. It's like makeshift foreign and so in so I can hear anything back in that back when you're grinding its next the next train we've been trained to just close that that robot yes and move on right and so that was in March what was father's day mother's Day was in May of course in so I went to a brunch with a friend of mine a psychic and we've just been talking and so should ask me a question. She said I'm getting this energy from you that you are you in college. Did you are you. Are you testing for something or are you an actor. You're like I feel like you're being tested or you went out for something. You're waiting to hear a response or you're needing a response for something. I was like yeah. I have really bad allergies this time of year. That's only guy you're GONNA get it. You're GONNA get it. It's going to open all these. I don't know what it is. It was going to be really good it's going to be it's going to be really really big. I don't know what it is. It's going to be it's going to it's going to be very pivotal in your careers can do a lot for a lot of people and a guy when the guy with an f. and his name is going to call you like okay. Whatever whatever and you didn't know what this was four? I didn't tell me what it was but it was for a show right how insane and it's it ended up being ruining the most iconic shows of all time this cultural phenomenon land it yes yes and so fast forward to end of June throughout throughout that time waiting I had hosted event with Shangila who was on the season before she's into my first has a podcast on this network shunned July McQueen wildly and I hosted hosted a live event with her and people from world of wonder at the event bright so that never facetime facetime baby. Ability for a show called loopholes drag race. Have you heard of it. I was like yes we love you be pit crew member and I was like what does that entail just super cool so yeah torturing and what's interesting is that I grew up watching Paul. I used to secretly listen to supermodel of the world because being a little gay kid right you couldn't you that age. You didn't know what being gay was that you were drawn and people made you feel bad for liking that type of thing because of the ninety s we were on the Tel or we were in the midst of HIV AIDS crisis there wasn't as much representation and being a little boy row quickey New Mexico black boy from Albuquerque New Mexico with.
