"We welcome you to the intermission report. I'm Brian calls Hell, Thanks for being with us here along the bubble of sabers. Radio network. No Buffalo. Terms of the opportunities that took a while before they actually got a good one. And they got actually a decent one on a breakaway. Jacob Bryson had a clean look. He was hooked, and that was the lone penalty of the period. Trueba went for hooking. In the final two minutes. Buffaloes power play had some had some time. They're about a minute and a half in they've got about 30 seconds left to go coming up. When period two gets under way. The shots on goal were doubled in favor of the Rangers to 1 10 to 5. Dustin took our ski took over for Carter Hutton Hutton had made to save so far and then Sitarski came in and stopped the other eight and on the other end Keith Kincaid is in goal tonight for New York, and he stopped the five Buffalo shots. We'll get your highlights from period number one and also a Check of the NHL night and the NC double the tournament. But first, let's bring in Paul Hamilton now is that we get his thoughts here on period number one. Paula right away the sabers, maybe having to face some adversity there. Carter Hutton. Getting involved in a collision and it looks like that'll and his night and now we see Dustin Qatar Ski and gold. What you think of him so far. He's good. You know, he, uh, you know, got squared up a couple of times had to stop both one shot and then the rebound. Also a couple times remembers the bandage at coming through the slot on the back and and Trueba followed him in. And I was able to pick up the rebound. That's you know what you people are asking what On Granada wants from his team. That's what he wants from his team. You know, a guy coming in getting good opportunity like that in a defenseman following right in and a five man unit quickly to be able to get the rebound and get a second shot for them, And that's you know, when When what he envisions his team doing now in the first period. Of course, we did not see that That's right. All right, The Bryson breakaway your thoughts on that. And were there any other chances of note Because I didn't see many. I really like how he made the defensive player went right to the offense. I mean, that's maybe a little bit of Granado there. Where is if that was Krueger? He would think now I better stay back. But he tipped it off, took off and wind up, giving himself a breakaway on the play, and Lazar did follow him up to get a rebound on that one. So there's two of your five shots right there. So that was a good play by Bryson did not get away and get himself in for the breakaway. Thompson at an okay chance. A Z was stopped by Kincaid. He was coming through the right circle and let it go. And not one of his better shots and right off the bat. Oh, listen, pick to pass off and was right in front of the net on this backhand. And I don't know if you put it over the top of the net or wide, but he certainly did not make concave make a save, that's for sure. Remember that she's coming down kind of low, low circle area and had a good luck, But you know the back end and just take it apart. And I remember which defense when it was, but they handed it right to him, and he he came right in front of the net with it. And on the back, and as I said, wasn't even close. All Hamilton here with me Brian Cole's deal. It is a scoreless tie between the sabers and the Rangers through 20 minutes of play. Paul Dillon Cousins is back. If there's anything of note from the 1st 20 minutes, you could jump in on that, too, with cousins but just overall. It seems like this is a player that at least fans are excited to watch. If right now we know that these games in terms of their meaningfulness, not anything in the standings, but I know for some fancying cousins back as a reason to watch. What if they go on a 25 game winning streak? You know, you never know. Well, then they would become meaningful again for sure. Maybe when they get to 24 Latino and then maybe remind everybody that there might be cousins won the opening face off and it hit me that he really Me included. We're worried about him taking faceoffs. You know, coming right into the NHL, And as he said, he doesn't really even think about it. Something natural coming into the game. He was at 59.57%, and he won the opening draw clean. So it's It's something that has a rookie coming in as a 19 year old. He's been very, very good at it. And now, once you know other center and get him on film and see him now he might probably will have a harder time. But Of definitely with him on face off this something that surprised me. Thank you very much. Paul. We'll talk again after the second. Okay? Sounds good. Okay. Paul Hamilton here with me, Brian Cold Yo. We are scoreless savers and Rangers when we come back highlights and Kyle's check of the NHL in NC, double the tournament scoreboard when we return After this time out, it's nothing nothing in our game through one sabers and rangers right here on the Buffalo Sabers radio network. Liberty Mutual Insurance Company presents on Doug. Okay, classes bumping up tonight. Come on, Li Mu keep peddling way Gotta build our endurance to let more people know.

"Ice by Seabrook pack to get it risked allied, and he'll carry up the left wing to center ice and drop it back into the sabers on the clumsy hand off her hustles over took it away carries down the left wing side. And fires that's in and out of the glove of Hutton who plots on the puck at the top of the sabre crease and holds it there. Boy, he had Jonathan tapes and Marcus Krueger not too far away. Faceoff circle Hutton left to nothing savers have given up nine shorthanded goals this season. Jonathan chaves. Just a split second too late to pounce on that loose puck that merchants Gruber through at the goaltender Carter Hutton. Favorite's get control off the draw crystalline in mind, isn't it passing up the right wing Reinhard center ice DIKO over the hawk line down the left wing. He fell over Murphy. Lost the puck. Murphy took it away spun up behind the net around to the right point Domon tour on tour crystalline deep slot. I go in the left wing circle centered across to the right wing circle picked off by Rasmus style. The number one pick in last June's draft lean to the right wing corner. Chips it behind the net. Murphy knocks Reinhart down the puck rolls free beside the net. Crawford swats it away. And then a diving attempt climb Murphy to knock it out of those own it deflects over instead to an eastern who got the puck through center ice over the sabre lie down the left wing choirs arrays shot blocker save made by Hutton savers. Get the puck back, and then they give it back side in the left circle. Drops it off high slot to he'll roll down the left wing side. Then runs into check there for Michael lost the puck, roll taste. Gotta stick. Around have caught crystalline and in the face with the shaft of his stick to savers. Get the puck back in the harmful sound ending play at period. Number one Ariss delighted wants to mix it up with Jonathan Toews. Let back after wrist a lion. Jonathan Dave didn't click wrist aligning with the stick. And he was not happy with crystalline and trying to sell that through his head back trying to draw the call Jonathan tapes goes right after him. Calls them out on that. Attempt by crystal line to draw the attention to the officials. Nothing happens. Don't think there will be any to finish off that period. So the hawks. Sixteen shots on goal to the sabers fourteen. But they're up on the scoreboard, which is the most important apart Duncan Keith forced.

"Of hockey players in behind the sabre net. The linesmen are on the scene as well. Four thirteen left in the second. The hawks lead at three nothing. Blackhawks had done an excellent job in counterattack against the sabers. It looks like the sabers a little bit too anxious to try and get back into this game. And they're forcing things that aren't there. And they're getting themselves out of position structure kind of gets a little bit loose in. The Blackhawks have been able to stay focused in what they wanna do when they've had some really good looks another opportunity for the Blackhawks counterattacking. There's dalstrom is mentioned backed up in his own end of the ice. And basically was drawn all the players in there, and they were caught in the middle of no man's land. There. The Blackhawks able to take advantage of that. They may take a look at this to see if this puck. Crossed the line. Referee over to. Check with the. Penalty box area the off ice officials there. I guess a quick look nothing can be seen though from over tough would be conclusive. So they'll drop the face off. It'll be the four seasons heating air conditioning and plumbing faceoff for all the right reasons. Four seasons. Now, they're gonna call him back over again and take another look at it. Maybe there's a little bit of a different camera angle that might see something can't wait to hear the call from west MacAulay. Am Marcus cruiser was jamming at that. Puck Carter Hutton had his glove hand the seemingly on top of the puck. But it man slipped. It may have slipped into the back of the net. Or hidden camera that they were showing us here in the radio booth. Couldn't see anything. We'll get an explanation. After video review. The puck did not cross the goal line. No. That wasn't west McCauley note that was boring. Pouring into the point Garrett rank is going to have to work on his presentations is worried about his golf game. That's right qualified for the US open last year. He is good. Here's metal stat into the hawk zone, devoid wing half boards. Spins it down behind the net to Connor Sherry used to play on the line with Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh won a couple of cups with the penguins. Seabrook took the puck away passing to cocoon at center ice defeated ahead for Dylan Strom into the sabers zone. Rolls onto the stick of the golden. You'll move it. Over to Darlene sabre line left wing pass across the rink middle stat steps into the hawk zone. Right point moves it over to the left wing corner, Sherry jams the puck in front of the hawk net..

"Given the power play plenty of props here in the last little while and that was Wellard but the penalty kill is that a pretty fair job in the last couple of games so far two for two in this game. Haven't allowed a power play goal in their last four so far. At the hawk blue line. Gustav forsling passing on the right wing at center ice to tape works this way over the line dot behind McKay. Put it in front. You penny. He snapped toward the net. But he missed loose puck down the near corner. Here's kane. Lost the puck. Got it back. Top of the right circle of tapes in the right circle to the right point Gusta son, rolling down the boards. Tried to deacon move to the net. Lost the puck tastes took it back to Patrick Kane right point pushing away at the line. Here's Kane trusting away once and twice now on the Cape leaves the puck along the right boards tapes. Who leaves it there for Gusta some gusts us into the top of the right circle. Lost a puck and escapes. Got it back. Pokes it down to Katchouro right corner. The taste behind the sabre net. Mccain in the left corner leaves it there for tapes he'll turn away from pressure as for the high slot. Patrick Kane backing up to the blue line moves point Gusta, some her forcing excuse me, the back of the neck ramp the puck by risk the lion. And the sabres will take it back in the near corner. Here's Gerguson trying to pass it out. Remi Ellie took the puck back in the circle of Hutton's left. Moves it over to rest a line and he'll lift it through the air down in the hawk zone. Carl dalstrom back skating in front of the hawk net with it passes. It ahead to Saad at the hawk line. He'll fire it down ice. Marcus Krueger hustles to beat the sabres to the dots. Grabbed the puck beside the net. Tried to jam it in the short side. Did he do it? Carter Hutton's got the puck on top of the glove. Look what he had it on top of the goal line. As well. Meantime, you get a big gathering.

"Into this game. Off the face off taken into the zone wide left. Here's Yosi shot. Broken up. Rebound. Try at a backhand swipe at it. Covered up by Carter Hutton. I love that play. That's a a design play were Roman Yossi, splits the gap and charges right up through joint Hanson, just ties a pot got ties of the Centerman up. Then you'll see flies through he gets shot and tracks down save by Carter Hutton coming out there and spinning away as he made that safe off the face off sabres hammer it down ice Rene out of the gold was left to stop it. Just two seconds left on the advantage. Now, Yosi skates up to standard. The power play is over. You'll see Kerry's in deep goes behind the net right wing corner. Craig Smith off now paralysis shot goes wide. Rebound shoveled across wide by Fiala. And now you'll see another shot and that one deflected up for Jeff Skinner Skinner tried to spring free the end of the zone. He was looking over towards Taylor. Thompson the predators. Got it back. Here's Joe Hansen down the right wing side to the hash Mark. You'll see out high that shot blocked Fiala. Tried to shovel that rebound home on the right board. Hansen comes back now for echo walking the line shot stopped. Here's Fiala slipped off his stick. And then it's fired wide by Smith on the rebound comes back to center ice. Wait.

"They were down four one ended up beating them five four. Not correct Grenell. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. And in starting Rasmi Dahlan starting to come into his own. So we have a their wagon boys. They're an absolute wagon. They I'm genius wouldn't I wouldn't go over there because you didn't make defect. Someone told you to make pick your genius. Just you really good producer hardware K but the geniuses. Do think people are the buffalo fans were furious at us for not bringing them up last podcast. And in since what's happened since they've just kept winning. So now, it's even better that we're talking about him that fan base is great when they were good place is awesome, Chippewas bad, man. That's a loyal yet. And they and they love it. So I think that when they come home from this trip. I think they're playing on Wednesday night night thanksgiving eve that place OB Rockin, but their team is fun to watch. Because there's no quit. You could tell it's a bunch of young guys that I think they love Phil Housley Eichel celebration. In overtime. Was that showed me a lot? I know that sounds kind of goofy. But his his elation, and how fired up he was in its showed like this team is in it like, they're all close. And he I don't think I've ever seen him. Really celebrate like that it was just pure emotion of being jacked up forgetting the OT winner in Pittsburgh. Talk about having young guys who can make a huge difference this Casey middle stat tunnel of. But if you watch him he's gonna get better and better and batteries a high pick with crazy skill people think he's like Tiny's six one two oh five strong kid. They've just done a good job Bill team. In Carter Hutton has been so good. I've actually heard some pretty great things about Carter Hutton's. Student. I heard about his character. I guess like in Saint Louis when Jake Allenby struggling like he'd come out of some struggles. Because Carter Hutton would be there like helping them help him get out of and you know, usually the backup goalie in the goalie they have a good relation for the most part. But you can't say a backup doesn't wish they were playing. That's usually the case. And he was always like great with with aluminium struggling, so I think having him in the room is him pin playing goalies been great. But he's just seems like one of the best guys to from what I hear. So that's another big big point for the sabres. It's I mean, I like watching them I really do. And they've just done a great job of bringing in kids who can play in drafting well and who liked to play with each other too. I mean, you mentioned it before what date they keep talking about. How much these guys love to play with each other? How close they are off the ice. And I think that's so big in hockey, and it's not talked about enough. Yeah. But I also I also it's like what came first the chicken or the egg because everyone says that about winning teams does winning teams make everyone love each other. Or does everyone loving each other? Make you win. It's it's I mean, you there's no right answer. It's just all you'll always wonder. I mean, I think they're having a blast because they're winning games against teams that nobody thought they'd be able to beat before the year. Like, you said in a big reason behind that is now the play a cotton lately, he's been on a tear. I mean looking at a safe percentage from the last two games thousand nine two three nine six seven nine six two. I mean, those are fantastic numbers. I don't know if he's gonna keep it up at this level. But for right now the teams leaning on him and even backup line is all mocked. He's got what ninety two save percentage to six five. Those are pretty respectable numbers from backup. And of course, I- buddy Jack Eichel, man. I mean, he's he's fucking talented up. I know Grenell. Probably has his stats tattooed on his avid five goals, nineteen assists, twenty four points. And just twenty one games played..

"Circle holds. This is the lightning radio post game report. Here's the voice of the lightning. Dave michigan. Well, make no mistake, folks. This was a goalie win for the Buffalo Sabres. Yes. There were points where the sabers were really on top of their game second half of the first period, and they had their moments in the second and the third where they applied some pressure. But really from the start of the second period on I would say the lightning had in edge either slate to not so slight dominant edge for fifty minutes tonight. I think they were the better team for fifty minutes. But in the one ten minute span in which the sabers carried play. They got one goal scored another goal against flow of play and the lightning could only manage one goal in their fifteen minutes of domination either slight to severe domination. And there were several reasons for that the biggest one was Carter Hutton. And by the way, I saw a replay right at the end kucherov had a chance to score in the closing seconds hunt. Got over and stopped it with his glove right before time expired, so that was a big part of it. But also the lightning to knock have much puck lock tonight. They miss them open. Nets pox just went wide Kutuzov hit the post during the six tax situation. So the sabers got a phenomenal goaltending performance and the hockey gods were smiling on them tonight. And they use that to hold onto what was a to nothing lead the became to one and they were able to ride it across the finish line. But look the lightning at thirty shots Hutton me. Twenty nine saves. He probably made upwards of fifteen saves on Grady scoring chances. I don't think that's it overstatement. So he was fantastic tonight. Which is a good segue. Two or three stars. Brought to you by spectrum Carter Hutton is my number one star he made. Twenty nine saves on thirty shots and more than anyone else in the sabers is the biggest reason they were able to win this game. Anthony Sarah had a phenomenal game tonight. Scored the only goal he's made over to star. And I thought Eric Chernick had a wail of NHL debut. He was active he had through two periods. Five hits. He was out there in the sixth attacker situation. He looked steady. He did not look overwhelmed playing his NHL debut. So for his performance. Eric Chernick is my number three star. But it comes in a loss. The Sabre's edge lightning by final of two to one. I'll be back with my final segment as all chat with Gregg Llanelli as our post game show continues to sabres or final lightning radio. Ring..

"Blues had seven for a 60minute total of thirty it's a three all game in overtime periods this year the predators are two and four the blues are four and three we we talk about this being a possible playoff match fighting for central division supremacy all the hype was into this game and that ultimately it comes down to win in the playoffs in the turnaround that we've seen from this reds team and the blues hap don't have to deal with that i mean that's talk about making it hard a heart place to play you're always going to remember that three goal deficit that very raised here and it's always gonna be in your head for the blues and the same thing with the deprives there's nothing that they can overcome if they can do that you know to do things like this consistently and it's it your head you're finding ways to win find at ways to get points anyway go hanson arvidsson any does she predators when the draw yoshie takes you behind the net or the blue statsny terrorists sankoh and preferential upto rightwing side arvidsson holds up as he crosses the line then carries it back out johnson's pass that one went around roman yosi no icing here because carter hutton played the puk now the predators maki a change craig smith comes on for nashville smith is on with yarn cruel here's terasenko shotblock stopped in thought now the predators take the park up ellis to their rightwing side driving the net is smith outside yarn groping he takes it back outside across the line now let's go to the bench for a replacement in coming right off the bench hailing the park now yes michihisa hackel back home takes a quick pass across carries in left side you'll goal behind the net comes over on the right outside and carries the puck back to centre i'll cherish with the park now in the nashville land given to.
