"Out of reach of Children. No. One's Righter than Bill writer bench. Carson Wentz. You bring in jail and hurts. He's under the tutelage of the same guy that ruined Carson went so badly. But over the weekend there was a report that Wentz and Peterson's relationship is fractured beyond repair, which, by the way, that report shouldn't be coming out head into that game. That's also on Carson Wentz. What a disaster right over here. Who's the blame in Philly is like trying to figure out which car dash Ian was the problem. Maybe it's all of them.
Doug Pederson 'could be out' as Philadelphia Eagles head coach
"Other big story of the NFL off the field was Doug Peterson, and his future is shaky is as the Philadelphia Eagles head coach, You're talking about being removed, too. So think about this right? Because I've looked into this before, And I've said, like, okay if you win a Super Bowl How long does that give you as a head coach? Normally, it gives head coaches outside of Barry Switzer or a head coach like that's where you knew that that was more more about the team and switch. It was just kind of there. Try to manage the team. Normally, a Super Bowl gives you more than three years, especially If you make the playoffs, so Doug Peterson 2017 Super Bowl win 2000 and 18. There may be a dropped pass away from going back to the NFC championship game with Nick Foles is the quarterback 2019 they make the playoffs. Um Carson Wentz is out of the game because of a headshot. Seattle today v on Clowney. You saw what happened yesterday to John Walford and Jamal Adam's head shot. Right when he's outside of the pocket. Mm. That's something they're teaching Seattle. Yeah, in my opinion, but Doug Doug Peters don't like the Peterson hasn't had success that Peterson has had success. Terrible year this year for 11 and one. Nobody's doubting that. But it feels like normally if you just look at it from that perspective and say, like, all right, like, Yeah, Terrible year, he at least gets one year to run it back and trying to make things right. I mean, that's normally what happens in when you win a Super Bowl, So it's not like he wanted Super Bowl and then missed the playoffs in 2018, Mr Players in 2019 Terrible year in 2020, No. He made the playoffs three years in a row. But is somebody that lives and dies? With the Eagles? Being in Philly on? W W I pee every day. It just felt like that Something was off. Something was off with the quarterback and his relationship with him and something was off just with the entire team. All right, like normally Super Bowl winning coach. Not necessarily a great roster. We know that a bad roster lot of injuries, but still normally you get that year to run it back to make things right at least a year. Right? And Eagles owner Jeffrey Loria isn't a knee jerk reaction guy. He's not somebody that That goes out me. He churns through coaches and goes through coaches and goes through coaches. That's really not his mentality. But when he sees something's off, he'll real act and he saw that with Chip Kelly. Chip. Kelly became the toast of the NFL. His first year won 10 games. Second year won 10 games and then his third year. It was bad the players. The players obviously thought something was off with Chip Kelly. Doug Peterson pulled the trigger and got rid of him and brought in Doug Peterson in 2016. So it Something's often Philly and we will and we will see exactly what has up happening. But if they met on Tuesday, and the meeting did not go well, they're supposed to meet again. My money's on Doug Peterson not coming back or Here's the other thing. Or maybe it's that, but it's also Hey. This hot head coaching candidate who we really like. Oh, maybe he would be interested in coming here. Maybe a guy like Lincoln Riley. It was thought of as a as a great NFL head coach and Jeffrey Lori, the owner of the Eagles, is a guy that looks the college and said sees, Hey, what I want to run up the offense is doing now. Are we doing Ah West Coast offense that Doug Peterson runs that looks very dated or What about this innovative offense? That a guy like Lincoln Riley could bring? So is there a candidate out there that maybe is under the radar because it hasn't been reported that they secretly have interest in and maybe they heard back like, yeah. Maybe he would have some interest in coming here.
Fresh update on "carson. wentz" discussed on Joe Giglio
"In Wilksbehr. Yes, he was talking about the coach. He had up there and he made it all Star Basketball League Eastern basketball. The All Star team he makes he had traded for. I think from Allentown to wilksbehr. Um So whenever I hear Sonny, I just I keep it on because he's I'm gonna learn something fascinating. Love regular, sonny him and he is fast. That's a good way to put a dean is in Upper Darby. What's up, Dean? Great. Joe agonized going Good deal. What's up tonight? I mean, let me just put it this way. I The quarterback Eagle situation. I just think, honestly, I think that confidence is shot. You know when it's not really doing well, I really want to believe that. You know, I look out. Look at heart as As Russell Wilson Jr and he has he has good instincts if I would have picked What if he goes? I will look at replacing Jason Peters. You know, you have been approached their You know you had lain jobs. And if you watch Good teams. You've got to have a good line. I think it's not as complicated, you know. A lot of people, Miss Doug, but I think Donkey has some bonehead plays. I mean, there were times that he kept a locker room together. What I think It was just trying to move on. My only my only concern is that how he doesn't outsmart himself. I think if we can build his line You know, I think luck has a lot of potential. That thing is this is a kid who has never actually instincts. He just have to learn to read the fences. My challenge is knowing whether or not because one is ever going to get his confidence back. If you look at him, it's almost like he's two steps behind. He has to find his feet. And he had to read it fancies that he has a fraud there. First to Christ already has Korean stinks. You read the field. I think he could get better readings. Defense is so if you actually I think we need to look at it online. Better teams have always done better with all lines. Locate the car boys, the good teams. And that thing, hearts would take us far away. But I just hope Harry doesn't screw it up. I hope so, too. Dina and I agree with you on on your assessment of Carson. It's It's like the game moves too fast for his mind. Now, all the side he's lost it. Yeah, it's it's amazing. It's amazing because Quarterbacks usually gets smarter and the game slows down as they get more into their careers. It's the opposite with this guy. The game's gotten too fast, all of a sudden. Right. And you see how you see, I heard just pivot. You know, he moves up and down its natural. He's a natural, You know? I mean, I think he has a lot of potential. I hope that bring someone to back him up veteran, you know, like they did with Nick Foles. Let the kid play, but I think I'm I'm more optimistic about the Eagles than them being passed domestic. I mean, as far as losing, uh Dog dog was not my favorite towards the end. Yeah, I just hope they get a good coast to replace. I mean, it's not so much the Doug was special. It's just I hope they picked the right guy and deny appreciate help. Howie and Lori don't mess this thing up as far as hurts and Wentz and I mean, I've made my my thoughts quite clear on this. I want to move forward. Jalen hurts. Um, I totally completely sold that he is. He's the guy for this franchise from next 567 years. I'm not. But I see a lot of promise. And he certainly my guy over Carson Wentz. I mean, like of the guys they have in this roster. No question. I want to start week one next year, and that is Joanne Hertz, and I think if he gets a shot He'll improve. Always that is approve us all life. And, um Carson wants, Yeah. No amount of firing Doug Peterson could change with my I saw for him on the field this year like that hasn't changed. You know, I find interesting before we get the NFL picks and guess it takes I thought about this the other day you noticed this, Tucker? A lot of players, including players who have been here a while brain and Graham hopped on Mark's Therese Monday, right after the news came out that was fired. Zach Ertz. I saw the video. Where he You know, he said he would recommend Doug to anyone who wants to hire him. Nothing from Carson Wentz, like, not even the token. He are written. Host on Instagram like nothing. Tells us something. Yeah, it's only Carson Wells has ever been afraid of speaking out. I really think back to the summer when we had on the protest. That's of course, unless it's one of the first NFL players, two voices his support with all the movements and everything going on and Maybe in the height of his popularity of the shirt. It's just weird to me like I don't know, like I when you wanted to be above it like whatever I say. Even Doug really did see I died. It was toxic. At the end. He's gone now, like, especially if you want a new coach to come in and have a fresh relationship was just very odd like it's so it's so Jin. It's like generic and its simple, like, just type it up on your phone, but it would take five seconds like here's a picture of me and Doug shaking hands. Thanks for everything, coach. Well, it will always have the championship. You're always have that week three game against Pittsburgh together. Whatever. It always had the first four snaps against the Seattle Together. I'm gonna also like you could be a set of someone, but recognize they helped you at some point like Orson Welles doesn't have $128 million in the bank. If not for Doug Peterson. I do find it odd. How like I don't Obviously, we don't follow other coaching searches that much, but The other team's players. Are they this vocal about certain candidates? Now? This is weird, like are are you know the JAG wires all screaming for urban Meyer like the I just like I get it. It's awesome that all the Eagles players and Brandon Graham and you know Malcolm Jenkins actually inspires. Everyone wants do Staley. But Kind of feels high school ish psychologist. I remember like when Temple firemen rule Everyone said all we want Ed Foley, Right. Hire the guy inside, promote from within. I've never seen it in the NFL before. It is unique that the one thing that it's Kobe will tweet it was during the show tonight, said that this could create some sort of awkwardness moving forward like I wonder if these players are gonna be upset if they go with Joe Brady, or they go with Kellen Moore now It would you know, And you know, the Eagles have bothered everyone last month and just annoyed everyone, isn't it this setting up for they're going to pass on deuce to hire the Cowboys. We should just have a vote. Well, That's how the next Tuesday everyone go to your local polling place, and we'll vote on who should be the next eagle's head coach. I mean, it wasn't a polling place, but that's basically why the Philly spent $3 million in Bryce Harper's understood on Twitter. Eagles put up a poll Joe Brady or do stale and that's it. Now I was like, try to guess our polls like that we do on this show..
Will Indianapolis Colts QB Philip Rivers retire after NFL playoffs?
"Watching Philip Rivers yesterday, Ray Should Frank Reich be interested? I think you'd be interested anyway. You know if, um if rivers really is and it sounds like and he's sort of been giving off this, you sort of been giving off this vibe much of the year that You know, it's I'm no one coming to the end, and he thought he knew it was time to get away from the Chargers, and you wanted to take one last shot with another team to get over the hump. And he did, and he got to the playoffs and he got down to the last throw. But It's like every Philip Rivers game I've ever seen. Wasn't it? A lot of them there, Right? Maybe or s O. He's down by a couple points going for that last drive. And more often than not doesn't make it. Yeah, it seems that that does seem to be the pattern there. Um, but I kinda got the feeling Um, in fact, even kind of seeing his postgame remarks and just watching him talking about the guys on the other team at the end of the game. You can you just kind of get the feeling you're saying good bye. I mean, you just Was like I kind of gave us a try. You know, I came to a good team. We had a chance had a good season. But you know what? You know, it's timeto probably step away. I just kind of got that vibe from him. And if that's the case Then you know Frank Reich is in the market for a quarterback. And if the fact that you know Ian's reporting that that's what that would if Carson Wentz is leaving Philadelphia, that's where you wanna go. Well, sure enough. I mean, that's the logical place. Everybody's been saying that it makes perfect sense. It's a good team. I mean, they're not there right there. I mean, their defense is really good. They have a good running back. Um, I mean, that's probably a good city for him, too. Yeah, you know, it's it's not a high, intense media city, which I think would benefit him. Yeah, I think In many ways, Indianapolis would probably feel like You know, Bismarck, you know, I mean, there's there's There's there is. It's not it. Philadelphians, Indiana It's one step away from North Dakota. Yeah, I mean it Z for a guy who clearly is very Dakota Ondas in a small town guy. No, just, you know, let's face it. Philadelphia. Really? If you're an athlete in Philadelphia, especially for the quarterback in Philadelphia, you're living a fish bowl existence. 24 7, and I don't know that he was never all that comfortable with that. I think Indiana And Indianapolis would probably be more comfortable fit in to be going to the coach that he knows that has a relationship and he's enjoyed tremendous success with so I mean, in almost every way you could possibly dice this thing. I mean, it seems to make perfect sense to me. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. But if it if he's going to move I mean to me, that's 98% the move. That makes sense.

"It could solve the bunch. Now they ended up you get rid of one guy. You're looking for a whole complete starting staff of general manager and everybody to start the whole process over and not having a cohesive group and air goes the problem with the Shawn Watson. You have a problem right now? Because there is no acquisition of cohesiveness and how to ask, you know, acquire players. Now you're going to your friend's time quarterback to say, you know. Hey, you know, do you like this general Manager? Do you like this guy? And that really isn't the case with a lot of teams that quarterback even though they're the franchise, they never should be in a position where they have that much power over player acquisition. People get paid millions of dollars to be able to make that call in. You know, maybe you should have some You know from word, but not necessarily the decision on who comes and goes. "How carson wentz handle being benched not. Okay would it. At all. And i'm not to hold myself back from really just telling you how deeply i feel about carson. Wentz is doing right now because it's offensive. Almost it's offensive. Okay oh now you can't talk to the media carson wentz saying fire debt warm due to the tune of one hundred twenty eight million dollars extension. You talking to the media you being a leader for this team you being a captain for his team you playing well to your and the candidacy and all the times where you resurrected the eagles and the latter part of the season you could talk to the media but that same fire that warmed you and gave you all that love is now the same fire that wants to burn you and you can't stand the heat. I can't stand a fluffy person like that. Only wanna talk half the time. When is good for the other half and you wanna run away. Feels like you using the media. Net state in that context these character revealing moments. And what's sad is. I'm starting to see the character. Of course in wince as having an front runner mentality that safe space. He likes to stay in but when someone approaches him when a versity is front him. And it's right there. Oh where's carson wentz going to go silent and that sad. Because i hear a lot of resentment from the collar nerve normal people in this world who didn't play pro sports and this be real about it also. Let's be real about it but we didn't get all that money to play a child's game. We get all that money to do the things we don't want to do swear and this is something you don't want to do.

I'm trying to make sense of his explanation for doing so I know hurts was not exactly tearing it up in the second half, but that's why you keep him in there to see how he's going to respond. And look, I don't think they're gonna go quarterback there. Don't get me wrong. But Philadelphia my look at and say, Hey, you know what? Potential changes to the Philadelphia Eagles team and head coach
"The docket. Is Sunday night Football. It'll be 2 56 in the NFL schedule the final game between anybody in the regular season of this pandemic stricken NFL year. It's the Washington football team against the Philadelphia Eagles. Want to talk about how ridiculous 2020 could have been? It had Doug Peterson possibly being fired. From the Philadelphia Eagles Guy want a Super Bowl three years ago, but into the playoffs three of the five years as he lays out here when he said, I think my job's safe, I don't know about anybody else in regards to my status. Obviously. You know, Jeffrey and I have a lot of conversations throughout the season. You know, obviously our main focus is on on this season right now. Currently, we still have one game to play and really You know, my confidence lives in myself that I know that that I know exactly how to get things fixed. I we've we've We've won a lot of games around here. We've been in the post season three out of the last You know, the five years that I've been here a championship and all that. So I've seen it. I've done it. And that's where my confidence lies. And so, uh, these conversations that we're talking about will be, uh, at the appropriate time. And also at the appropriate time. There will be decisions made there in Philadelphia. Maybe not about the head coach, but the quarterback position will definitely have to be addressed. Reportedly, Chris Mortensen is saying all but fractured is the relationship between Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles once is expected to ask the team for a trade at this offseason, however. Given the salary and how it's structured man, tough for any team to take on 30, plus million dollars on a deal for Carson Wentz, especially the way that he has played this year in the off season, so decisions that we made on the Philadelphia side but Jalen hurts. And that Eagles team can knock the Washington football team out of the playoffs. Ron Rivera, suggesting that his team has nothing to lose, even though if they lose, they don't win the division. And if they win, they're in How do you figure that coach?
Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson Reveals Offseason Plan For Carson Wentz
"Once again be shorthanded. When they take on Washington Sunday night. We get more from K. Whatever the USAID banking as Jalen Hurts, prepares to start the final game of the season, Doug Peterson talked about what Carson Wentz has gained from watching from the sidelines the past few weeks. I think these last four games have really allowed Carson to just kind of take a take a step back and just evaluate and just see and And work on some things that that we've helped him helped him with me. One of the Eagles continue to lose players of the secondary is Gela Mills was placed on the team's covered 19 list. Safety markets, Epps says it's up to the backups to raise their game one Sunday night. We got a lot of young guys out there myself included. Washington gets 2nd chance to win NFC East at Philadelphia
"Right sunday night. Football al chris. Michelle in the world will watch the. Nfc east get decided the washington football team win and they're the nfc east champs that's into simple as that for washington. They are against the philadelphia eagles team. Which is the only team. That is not in contention for the nfc east crown entering week. Seventeen which tells you everything you need to know about. How their season. When greg i feel like a lot of my confidence in washington is rooted in if alex smith is playing. Because everything else about this team. I like in this match. Yeah i like that. They have antonio gibson back is huge. Smith did practice on thursday so it's trending towards him play now. He wasn't playing as well. His last few starts that we saw him out there even before the calf injury as he was when he first came into the lineup. But at least it makes it a great story on sunday night like this is the game they had to show because it was the one that made sense that there won't be any teams eliminated and he see alex smith finesse. Nbc on sunday night. Finish off the comeback of the year award would be pretty awesome against this eagles team which is just playing out the string in his so bang i know they have jalen hurts but the rest of the team especially on defense is so banged up right. Now it's i'm with you greg. It's it's like. We were ready to give alex smith comeback player of the year. If he came in and did a kneel down. I mean just to even come back and be in uniform on the fact that the coaching staff so clearly said all along this the guy we trust. I think that he can do a lot priests snap that. You're not going to get from the other quarterbacks on that roster this needs to be about washington's rookie class though to chase young antonio gibson these guys are key to this team and it's incredibly. These teams met in back in week one. When i thought philly could be a super bowl team their quarterback of the future carson wentz is nowhere to be seen right now and philadelphia and washington washington. Chance to win the nfc. East i'm sorry. I didn't see that coming to check me at the door if you
Cowboys vs. Eagles score: Michael Gallup leads aerial assault against Philadelphia, keeps Dallas alive in NFC East
"Dallas cowboys ended the philadelphia eagles season on sunday afternoon at. At and t. stadium. That's right the eagles now with only four wins with only one game left even though the cowboys will need some help from them. The philadelphia eagles are officially done. And we'll have to look forward to two thousand and twenty one when their quarterback will be jalen hurts full-time or carson wentz. Who knows there's a lot to get into as it as it relates to this game again so many things happen. Let's start the first highlight to show you here. If you're watching on youtube sean. Jackson did indeed have an eighty one yard touchdown. Jalen hurts finds him about six minutes left in the first quarter. Just absolutely rose. We had absolutely chance. This is the type of thing that we've grown accustomed to seeing. Unfortunately from sean jackson he has gotten the better end of the cowboys for a long time over a decade. Schon jackson has been shown the cowboys now with multiple quarterbacks in multiple home stadiums schon jackson has had success. I'll give it to him that. At least this time. He remembered to score the touchdown and not fumbled the ball right in front of the goal line. Let's keep on. Let's get to some more happy. Highlights and michael gallup who was in contention for our star of the game. His first touchdown was a beauty as the second quarter. Began getting the cowboys. Back in the mix narrowing the margin. Fourteen to ten michael gallup like i said look at that elite camera work from fox. We'll talk about that in a second. Michael gallup quickly got to work. He had a big gain a little bit after a few minutes later. Look at this starting his own thirty five running down the sideline a bunch of eagles chasing him. Michael gallup doing all the work doing all the work doing all the work and then speaking of work you know the cowboys as we all know they like to feed ezekiel elliott. This was later on that possession the cowboys trailing fourteen. Ten and ezekiel elliott. There's no video of this so apologies. If you're watching on youtube you can see our freeze frame image. A looked like ezekiel elliott. Who had a really great game really looked like he scored on. This place is a bad angles from the tv copy but to me to my naked eye it looks like zeke. Elliott is over the line. I think that that's a touchdown. Zeke mike mccarthy did not challenge this. The cowboys wound up settling for fuel narrowing the margin fourteen to thirteen. They would ultimately start their climb back and they're ferocious. Climb back in fact. Let's get to that. Climb another michael gallup touched down here at the end of the first half andy dalton not even messing around just looking right for him and michael gallup again just a superstar a true wide receiver. One cowbys have three of them. Dalton schultz you can see very happy for his teammate. This was a phenomenal performance by michael gap
Eagles drop struggling Carson Wentz for Hurts in middle of $128m contract
"The jalen hurts thing. Yeah we let's just every sports shows gonna do it so we should probably do it. The the wentz conversation. Everybody's everybody's saying. What do they do should they. It seems like they literally can't do anything i don't think they can. Everyone's like turn them to the colts. It's frank rights problem. He'll do good with. I'm like i don't i don't know one's eaten his contract right. I know there's some creative ways to get around it. But that's just too much damn. It's easier for the team to take him. So i did some research on this. Basically if he gets traded by a certain day you he's only owed is twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two salaries and it's basically a two year forty seven million dollar deal secure the colts and franks. I love this guy. Go look at his stats last couple of years like i. I can fix this guy whenever quarterback anyway. Maybe do it. The problem is no matter when they do it. The eagles just get crushed. You know they they could save right. Twenty five point. Four million in salaries in twenty twenty one and then fifty million in twenty twenty two for guaranteed. But they're just in the whole for thirty million minimum if they trade them no matter how they've besides it with the weirdest thing is. They gave him that extension before his rookie. Dale even played out which. I never understand when teams do that. Football right yeah again. He's i mean he hasn't survived last three three out of four december. Yeah he had major need knee injury. You also have the franchise tag which you can always use. If you don't agree to affirm. I the whole concept of locking him down way before you need to when you're not even positive what he is. It is weird so anyway. I don't see how they trade them if anything you would you try to build. Jalen hurts his value up to try to trade him right. Yes exactly. I think that's the way to do it but So then how long does he have to play to build his value though like through the rest of the year. At least right well there. Somehow they're not at of the an ac-. I know they're screwed. I they might be screwed worse than the cowboys which is exciting.

"Say they'll be a coward on a fifty percent are wait wait this should. He be back can't do that without on a say yes. I don't feel awesome about that. And part of that just because of the difficult nature of the contract. And i say we'll be back i'm gonna say fifty percent okay about you all right so Halley have she got asked this question in a chat recently. And i think i had it at the time as howie fifty five percent back doug i i think it's very likely he's gone and i did them. I think i probably had somewhere around like twenty percent and then carson ninety nine. I had at the time so like that has since changed. I will say so. I think that i think how he's gone. I think he's figured they. I'll go forty percent chance he's back. I think i think he's gone. While i mean there's no there's no argument for friends. Let me there's really no argument for it to stay. So part of that is that. I think jeffrey loria smart enough to see that no matter what his relationship is with howie but then also just People that i've spoken with that. I trust their opinion and tell me like any kind of like concrete information like porting to him being gone but a lot of people that are that i think are smart Have applied anyway. They think he's gonna be gone to so i think he's going to be gone and doug. I'm almost sure it's going to be gone. I put his chances of coming back at like fifteen percent. Yeah and honestly. I probably went high. Yeah probably two percent right now and then carson. There's a chance they could trade him. Obviously they're not gonna caught him to cap. Its way too big and they wouldn't In any way there's no sense in doing that. but trading him trade him get like a cap hit of Like thirty three thirty four million bucks which would warf the biggest Dead money hit in. Nfl history. the highest. One is brandin cooks. Which i think off the top of my head. I think it was twenty one. Twenty two million bucks or something like that So bad really have to get something good in return for him to to Justify making that. Move and i just don't know that that author ob there. It's possible. but i think there are so many roadblocks to getting a deal like that done that. I just don't think it's very realistic. So i'll stay very confident that carson wentz will be back. I wouldn't put it as high as ninety nine anymore. Necessarily but i would say he's probably in the range of like ninety two ninety five so we'll split the difference there. I'll call it out ninety two and half. So i think the thing with wentz it'll be interesting. I think the idea know the point of hiring. A new coach obviously is in part like ken. They fix carson wentz I guess that's probably why they would keep him as their income under the thinking we can just get a new coach here and they'll eventually able to fix him and i think that thinking is dangerous to me because when you ask the question is carson wentz salvageable. I don't think the answer is yes. If he's not willing to be salvaged and i think going back to what i got some of the things i said in the emergency podcasts with select like carson which is not the most quotable player and i think that's a really big issue. I think there's a lot of evidence year. He hasn't taken the coaching in. When you go back to the you know the philly voice report that was on your website to me by We had on the podcast here earlier. This season like a lot of those things. If you go read them today like seemed to still ring true in terms of you know like carson hasn't really changed a lot the he wants to run things a certain way. He is a lot of influence over. This offense is not like he is going out there in running. Whatever plays doug telling him to. I really do not buy that. He has a lot of influence over this. How this is all going. So i'm maybe a new coach can come in here and because of that dynamic Like they have more authority and can kind of get the best out of carson wentz. I think that's obviously what would be best for this team. But i think it's just very. I think it's naive to think that you bring a new head coach in that magically fixes everything in that doug was the entire issue with carson wins and i that's where i'm met with that maybe he can have like a howie roseman like rejuvenation raking travel a world. See what other quarterbacks are doing kind of picked little pieces here and there and come back and like the world on fire get a little high himself backslide again. But i don't know. I'm just kidding so i think he's still salvageable like just looking at what he has in terms of ability. I mean just go put like our choubey draft carson wentz hats back on from way back in the day like he's big. He's got like everything you want physically from quarterback. He's six five to forty. He's got some mobility. Maybe that's tapered off a little bit over the last five years but he does have some some ability to run the ball He's got a strong arm. He's smart even if it doesn't always show on the field I think there are plenty of times early in his career. Words people were sort of wowed by his work ethic offer field. Where you know. I remember the story where like he called. Went into an office and he goes if we get this. Look i'm gonna hit you on the corner of the end zone. And they got that look in the red zone ahead the corner of the end zone as he said so there. There are a lot of examples like that where You know he he's he. He can diagnosed defenses in such again. The schemes been broken shared. We haven't see overcome that But i do think that there is reason to believe that he can still have success in the nfl. It's just a matter of how long the await for him to to sort of get that back. Also i think the question of to what level is getting. Because i don't think we're ever seen two thousand seventeen again i just don't i'll be there for sure. Yeah and i think some people still think. That's in there though. But i don't it's not. I don't think it is a different player. In terms of like you said his athleticism and everything now and in the injuries have taken a toll then even mentally. I don't know where he's at the big question that seems to be lingering. You know like like lingering behind the scenes or where like. It's the concussion from cloudy. Like how much did that impact him. It's so hard to know we've asked him we've asked. The question has been asked that we don't know for sure how much that's actually impacting him in his mental capabilities to so So yeah so. Even if carson wentz i think i think there's zero question carson winston play better than he has this year because that's pretty hard to do to very low bar for sure but but how high does that bar yet you know is he like top twenty you know like is where does he max out i guess is what i think and and you know how much is it worth bringing i mean. Obviously it's worth a lot if you can salvage him but like you know where where are you. If you can't and. I guess you know that's a decision. That's something you can figure out down the road once you see if the new coach who comes near can actually do that but i guess my point is i just. I would be reluctant to assume that automatically. The new coach comes in and he faces a winston..

"Bg in fifteen per fifteen percent off. So go do that but jimmy. The people are dying to hear your take on the situation. What's your first Flooring one And that's probably why. I haven't heard much about it. I probably will have something on friday warning. Just really more geared toward the future of carson wentz going forward as opposed to you know the implications of this particular season. Which who cares like the season's over you've mentioned at the team was boring and now we have a little bit. You know at least have something to talk about now. That first half of that game against green bay one of the most boring eagles games i've i've ever seen at first half alone. And then the second half they made the move in at least it was somewhat interesting to watch but as far as like my take on Them naming hurts the starter against the saints Sunday not a surprise of all. I had a pre written that like that. That what they were going to do. i don't normally. I don't do that very often. But when i'm pretty sure that they're going to Make a move. I will have an article ready to go sort of boiler boring post that i wrote but Yeah i was almost certain that they were gonna make that move. Because why wouldn't you. I mean i think the biggest point that has been made the point that has resonated most with me has been a point that you made and that is that the eagles could be picking top five in the twenty twenty one draft. And when you're picking that high personal you don't pick that high that often and it's going to be a strong quarterback draft In two thousand twenty one. So if you're picking that high you're not sure have carson wentz's we're going to get back to where he was You know when he was at his peak or you know even a notch below that. You're not sure what you have in jalen hurts. You don't have all the information To take a quarterback that highly unless you play jalen hurts so like i think you have to at least have an idea of what he is and what you have in him so that when you do pick that highly in the twenty twenty one draft as it appears they're going to you have to illegi. We have more information than you would if you didn't play him so there's that i think the eagles mindset is really more that he can provide a spark and give them something in these games going forward. Which in my opinion again. Who cares like this. Season's over so i don't like it doesn't matter if they win in fact it's hurtful to them if they win games going forward the season was just getting so damn boring as you mentioned and at least now we have a reason to watch. Yeah i mean that's big though it's like finally there's at least. Some kind of level of entry gear in hearts comes last week and it. It just felt. The energy felt different. It really was a spark. Wow they might even win. This game might still this game. You know what the telecast tony romo was like. I'll there's some overlap here the emergency podcast we did. I don't wanna talk expectation for its. You don't care. I feel like there is some excitement in terms of like i mean carson was just so broken here that there's just no hope like you're going into every game knowing that he's not going to be able to really do anything. I think hurts Especially going up against the saints team. That hasn't really faced a lot of mobile passers this year kind of looked at all the quarterback rushing stats from them this year. They've only allowed seventy six yards. Total in quarterback rushing now really faced a lot of mobile passers. I think you could look at like teddy bridgewater and justin herbert most mobile guys. They've they've had the face you know who who aren't necessarily known as the most like mobile so it'll be interesting but i i just going back to hurt this performance against the packers. I saw some good things in there. Obviously the final stats horn. Pretty but i thought like seeing that mobility was nice. Actually being able to avoid some pressure just even even for the sake of like. I know like he kinda runs a little bit too often. Almost like likes to take off by the same time. He's getting positive yards in those plays Is he's not like the sitting back there in the pocket forever just waiting waiting getting sacked. Like he's going to get easier but he's only like five dollars a pop year three yards pop year in at least keep the offense going in the right direction at the very least or kind of like you know not just holding onto the ball in forcing things in creating this like catastrophic turnover like the arsenals kind of doing so Instances that and then parlaying that into Even if the games don't matter jimmy for the rest of the season the question is like ken jalen hurts. Play well enough to save anyone's job in terms of doug or how a i guess that's what i'm also wondering about. I think the point that you made is that he runs a lot. And i think in that in the packers game when he first came in on his first six dropbacks i think he ran five times on those. So he's just looking at like maybe one or two reads and it's not their egos which is fine like that's understandable for a rookie quarterback of course Who has that You know mobile ability in his arkansas. Like i'm not criticizing him or anything like that for for that. We are going to see that a lot. i think. Sunday against new orleans As far as my expectations for it's gonna look different Certainly like he's gonna run a lot. The offense is going to look different. I don't think you're gonna call many different. Plays or anything like that as jason kelsey explained like. You can't just throw out your playbook and have this new set plays that your team hasn't run all year especially when you have a rookie quarterback coming in like that. So it's going to be the same place. Just gonna look different with a quarterback that has a different skill set and personally. I don't think the outcome is going to be any different. Like i don't think you're gonna see much of a difference on the scoreboard or like in the statute in terms of yards or production or whatever But i and. I think it's gonna appear that hurts. Looks a lot better just because it's different and because the expectations for him are lower than they are for wentz they bay But ultimately i think he's going to struggle because a the receivers are still a problem. He offense blind is still a major issue and see most importantly the offensive scheme. It's just it's just broken so it's gonna be a tough ask really for anyone to the you'd have like a star quarterback coming into this eagles system right now and while they play a hell of a lot better. Carson wentz certainly. Has i think if you took like russell. Wilson put them in the scheme. You took aaron rodgers and put him into the scheme. You're not gonna look as good as they do in their own gives up. I'm sure they probably still have some level of success that carson wentz was not able to achieve in this scheme but i think it's really a tough ask for for any quarterback to come in and have success with what the eagles are doing. Offensively right now. I think that'll be interesting to gauge. Though to what extent. You know. Because i think it can look better than it has carson wentz like not to the point where anyone's it'll be mistaking them for the kansas city chiefs or something anytime soon or like the forty niners when they're on top of their game like you know. I don't think it's a at mazing..
Philadelphia Eagles to start Jalen Hurts at QB over Carson Wentz
"Jalen hurts time in philadelphia and jalen hurts will make his first. Nfl start sunday against the new orleans. Saints so welcome to the league young man you go against a really good carson wentz back up her and while this seems crazy to all of us it's also kind of crazy to doug peterson i don't take carson wentz out of it. I didn't expect us to be in this situation back in april. So let's just start there. Listen everybody around jalen or around. Carson has to has to elevate their game. We can't do this. They can't do this alone right. They can't they can't do that. It's impossible to to attack. You know an opponent would just one guy so But i fully expect our guys. I play hard and do everything they can to try and win along perfectly clear here what's become crazy about. This is not the way that all of this went down because it became very obvious that a quarterback change needed to be made. But just the fact that here we are in twenty twenty and we'll probably see tastes hill against jalen hurts in this game i key. Let's start with you. What do you think of the eagles finally making this new well. It's about time. I think we you know a lot of the media around and been talking about this for weeks on of weeks but as they say better late than never and i think it's jalen hurts his job to lose and i'm talking about long term. I think when you look at the situation. And i've been around a lot of quarterbacks in my time in organizations and when you say here's a guy who has a opportunity on a two to three games sample that he could take this job and make it his own. He cannot be coursing wins. What i mean by that is he cannot play like carson with. He has to play like the jalen hurts. That was drafted in top fifteen picks in the national football league. That guy that we saw at oklahoma the guy that we saw a brief time in alabama. If he does that and he can ignite this offense. Then it's his job to lose. Come next off season. I think the philadelphia eagles are looking for the same things. I think when you look at it they say okay. If jalen does what he's supposed to do we go into the offseason with a quarterback battle. Ota's as many camp training camp. Give the up to carson wentz. Because that's what we're gonna do because you follow the money and then you put carson carson wentz carson jalen carson with a short lease. You say you got two to three games to prove yourself and if not we go snatch twenty one is hurts. His team were done which it. That is the way you do it.
Doug Pederson names Jalen Hurts the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback
"The Philadelphia Eagles benching quarterback Carson Wentz will instead start rookie second round pick Jalen hurts this Sunday against the Saints when she signed a four year $120 million contract extension. Just last year has struggled
"carson. wentz" Discussed on The Bill Barnwell Show
"But i think it does give you the best chance long-term if you give carson a break from this and to think about and to prepare to get right like i think they're to me. There seems to be no argument on the other side. While i believe my arguments for jalen hurts are not super strong. They're stronger than no arguments. What is the argument for. Plan carson wentz for playing carson went other than the fact that you guarantee them a lot a lot of money which is not an argument at all like. he's been really bad all year long. There's no reason to believe that he's going to get better. Hope prayer yes. You can pray with them on a bed. He can pray when he's on the bench. He can't pray with all the video so that in the future if the eagles how how how much this the cost matter to you i mean if you have already vested in carson wentz. It's extremely difficult to offer from. After this year you could maybe theoretically trade him but it would be incredibly cost prohibitive and leave you without a quarterback option and basically sink your chances in twenty twenty one probably anyway unless you are some opposition the draft a quarterback at the bottom half of the top ten or the of the top ten so the eagles would be do you just stubbornly maybe not startling they just say hey this is a bad year were throwing it out the window. We're going to make some changes around carson or do you just put on carson and say hey we're gonna run this back we think we have enough talent around you and you have to just be better with a healthier offensive line and if you're not better than twenty twenty two were moving on. What's the other option like you don't cut carts and In trading him doesn't really help your contract situation So you try to improve the team around him and Improve the coaching around him. Maybe i don't think that the answer is cutting him and moving on to who knows what or jalen hurts. Like bharti made this commitment. So i'm not sure how bad of a situation like i feel like you're more well versed than these moves than i am. So and it's called the bill barnwell show. So you are howie roseman. Now what do you do. You pick someone in the nfl. I can finally relate to how what i would do. I would simply go back and not make all those bad signings. I would go back in time. All sean jeffrey gordon good player. I'm not going to sign a massive deal and then restructure it. I would not sign lane johnson to a four year contract extension that starts in twenty twenty five. I would not do those things. I would I don't know. I usually have a choice right like you're stuck with carson exterior. You evaluated him up to this point. As number one franchise quarterback. They traded up to grab him. He was nearly empty. Mvp and seventeen like. That's not even if you're saying that's not what i would expect from carson wentz. That's at least in the range of outcomes. At least that is a possibility the and asked that ceiling which we don't know that for every player. We don't know every player i i don't think would be a good example. Sam darnold you might some team. I try and buy low. And sam darnold center might be a good football player removed from adam gates. But we don't know. He has side in his range of possibilities. Vp caliber season. So i think you have to fundamentally take a step backwards and say okay well we also like carson wentz. Has this really awful season in his range of possibilities. So thank you. I don't know if he fire. Doug peterson remove playcalling duties. Where i think you have to seriously consider making a coaching change. And whether you have the right coach for carson wentz. Because it's a lot easier to fire. Doug peterson and this to fire carson wentz. I think you have to reevaluate a lot of choices at receiver. What carson wentz works with. I think that they have added receiver after receiving golden tate. They drafted balanced..
Wentz benched for Hurts; no verdict on starter
"Green bay now carson wentz was benched for jalen hurts midway through the third quarter. Yesterday hurts play. The eagles back into the game hurts so good with jalen in there. I've been waiting to say probably should have waited a little longer brandon. Getting benched for hurts blank you had to answer is much needed Put myself in his shoes. A lot of people don't understand how toxic of in oven environment it is when you're losing and you walk into. Nfl locker room organization. This is a billion dollar industry with multimillion dollar athletes. They accountability the type of pressure. That you face every single day to perform at a high level is out of this world so for carson wentz. This is the best thing that could potentially happen when you don't have to deal with that anymore walking into the organization and basing your teammates base in the media that's hard when you're playing this bet your teams playing this bed. There's nowhere to high so when you get bitch. Now it's time for him to take a deep breath and focus on the future now. I think i'm one that will stay on the table to think that you know just a little bit of time. Time could potentially fix these issues with the right type of pieces around him. I don't think it's time to move on. I just think they need to regroup. So i think it's intriguing for frank right frank reich. The head coach of indianapolis colts is the offensive coordinator in philadelphia. And twenty seventeen the only year carson wentz has looked like a franchise quarterback as soon as frank reich left seemingly soda carson winston ability to lead a team deep into the playoffs or einstein. He got hurt that year but the double digit wins. The colts got a thirty eight year. Old bolo tie wearing interception machine at quarterback who can't wait to get down to i think it's florida's offense coordinated bryce school next year. They know they're going to be in the markets on quarterback they also know their too good to draft one. And they don't trust your koby perset. Free agent marketplace isn't going to be right with starting quarterbacks and philly is going to have to trade carson if they want to move on from they can't cut it so i think frank reich is watching carson wentz struggles and saying to chris ballard and folks in indy guys. I think we can get him for a conditional seventh round pick. They just want to get off the contractor replays. Well so i think frank reich is watching this and saying you know what that could be starting quarterback next year.
Philadelphia Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson Speaks To Media Day After Loss To Green Bay Packers
"Part. We're gonna head to green bay now little eagles in packers and this played out. According to script is right eagles struggled behind carson wentz. Packers thrive behind aaron rodgers. I worked out in eight. A bunch of healthy snacks status quo all around from everyone. Does peterson finally put in. Jalen hurts in the third and he tossed his first career touchdown. Pass any brought philly back but it wasn't enough. Green bay packers still one. Here's eagles head. Coach peterson on his quarterback situation. It doug is going to start at quarterback for you against the saints. You know You know you guys are listening you gotta get. Let me get through this game you You just heard me say we needed. We needed a spark in this game. Two to try to get some things going. You know there's I've got to get through injuries. I gotta get through the tape. But there's a lot of a lot of things that i'm gonna. I'm going to consider And evaluate before You know before anything decided but you know look opportunity arose and and You know like we just. We just needed that opportunity to get us back in a football game today And we came up short.

"carson. wentz" Discussed on First Things First
"Philly eagles and seahawks and birds and other birds only one type heading south carson wentz again trying to prove a starter status again coming up short another interception adding to his league-leading totally was also six. Times is back backup. Jalen hurts saw just to blaze last night. We'll have much more on him in just a second but first eagles get the win. Here's carson winston after last night's loss to seattle. There's been a lot of talk and speculation. You possibly getting benched or something like that. I mean does that way on you at all. Do you think about that at all. And that occurred during the game. Any of that. Come up. i mean. I said that last week you know this is what you sign up for as a quarterback <hes> member. Since you're a kid you know you're prepared for for any of those nothing's ever guaranteed and so for me i. I don't think about that though. I just try and go out and be the best player. I can be in practice. Prepare my tail off. Compete my tail off and <hes>. You know hopefully we can get this thing turned around but <hes>. I think about those things. I might give it everything i got every time i step on the field. I think i said the eagles went. Obviously the seahawks won there and carson wentz with the barrage of questions about his plane time plane status plane brandon start with you did carson wentz play well enough to keep his starting job moving forward. Well i mean i hell. Mary was nice. i mean how. How often do we see that at all. He but outside of that. Mary no he. He didn't play well. The coaches the coach. Well defense didn't play well enough. This is one of those years. Nick where everybody needs to be on notice when you play like this and miss division everyone should be on notice and then you can go back to last couple years outside of their super bowl. Run it's always been a struggle for this organization. If i'm the owner. I am looking at everything. I'm looking at the general managers there's other gaps. There's other holes on this team is not just carson wentz. it's also the linebacking core and it's not that the linebacking core isn't playing. Well they're just not very good they don't have any debt so with that mind like you gotta talk about. Who's making those decisions. And you got to hold them accountable. So this entire organization. Mic should be on notice at listen. I think might garafolo is the one who reported this morning that he can no longer report. That doug peterson is totally save. Despite being just three years removed from actually winning a super bowl something carson wentz is not able to say. He did what that means for our rose. One of the front office will see. And you're right brandon. This is a team that has a multitude of issues but their biggest issue is this in twenty twenty the worst starting quarterback in football now. That's not a statement of opinion. That's just if according to the numbers we can show them. The worst fulltime starting quarterback in the nfl is carson wentz and the spat back that up one hundred percent. He's thirty fifth worse in everything. And there's only thirty two teams folks and he is a turnover machine he runs into sacks he doesn't make the big throws anymore. There's been one game all year long that he didn't turn the ball over and in that game. He fumbled twice. They just happened to recover them so it does feel however wildlife carson wentz might be the one with the most job security because of the contract. He's been signed to based on performance. You have a twenty eight a guy that's going to be twenty eight this month. He's in year five and he's playing the worst football of his career. That is more than a sign for his future. But do you think that's all of his fault nick. Because morning i wake up. And i make a little menu and i called my my kitchen. Where do my work hot take cafe and on today's menu. Here's what we had. You can make your choice. Everyone you can have bad coaching with a side of bad. Play design you can have bad decision. Making with a side of bad throws you could have bad wide receivers and bad protection. Those your options at the take cafe for me. I want went bad protection. I went with the six acts. We're not his fault. The league leading forty six x also. Not his fault he also had some throwaways there and i was watching the game last night neck and i was like oh the one when he was chased out of the pocket to avoid an intentional grounding. He threw it to the first down. Even though it came up short i was like. Oh that's a. That's a good play. That's a quarterback you can build around. I'm like what what is happening. I'm calling a throw to save even intentional grounding a good play and he could say like. I don't put it on the offensive line. Louis riddick mentioned it last night when they went to the super bowl best offensive line surprise surprise. Takeout carson wentz put. Nick foles doesn't matter to me. It starts with the offensive line. I know there's a lot of side dishes but it's an offensive line thing for me.
What Is Wrong With Carson Wentz:
"Philly eagles and seahawks and birds and other birds only one type heading south carson wentz again trying to prove a starter status again coming up short another interception adding to his league-leading totally was also six. Times is back backup. Jalen hurts saw just to blaze last night. We'll have much more on him in just a second but first eagles get the win. Here's carson winston after last night's loss to seattle. There's been a lot of talk and speculation. You possibly getting benched or something like that. I mean does that way on you at all. Do you think about that at all. And that occurred during the game. Any of that. Come up. i mean. I said that last week you know this is what you sign up for as a quarterback member. Since you're a kid you know you're prepared for for any of those nothing's ever guaranteed and so for me i. I don't think about that though. I just try and go out and be the best player. I can be in practice. Prepare my tail off. Compete my tail off and You know hopefully we can get this thing turned around but I think about those things. "Hall of fame coach of michigan state among our guests today and our football crew is ready to go grouse. Jeff and greg ready to talk about last night's monday night meeting between seattle and philadelphia as we get thing rolling here right now seahawks on the road carson wentz and the eagles the center of so much discussion opening drive of the game. Could they silence some of the critics No they could not this. When i throw richard. Rogers that's incomplete. Next point went looking for greg ward. Eagles would go three and out to start this game without seattle. Having to make a tackle next eagle drive third nate wentz jalen rager went for four phillies first to drive. Second quarter no score. Second and fourteen went on the sideline jalen hurts in the game hurts. I snap complete sean. Jeffrey and then wednesday is coming back in and hurts his going to the bench. Someone will have to explain what that was about next. Play third nate whence back to throw wentz going down hard whence hit repeatedly in this game. That's a loss of six eagles. No first downs on their first five drives later in the second still most scored but russell wilson is doing something about that. They came back cab. Fifty two yards down to the one yard. Line metcalfe playing with a chip on his shoulder against the team that passed on him in the draft a couple of years ago. And then setup vis wilson david moore for the touchdown on the corner and the seahawks take a seven. Nothing lead next seattle drive. Its second goal and they can do it on the ground. Chris carson is back and better than ever bullying way into the end zone for a score and seattle a fourteen. Nothing lead with five minutes left in the hand now. Eagles trying to get something going in the red zone. Second and goal final seconds. Wentz dallas guttered. Yes there. On the board three yard touchdown fourteen six extra point. No good to that discord halftime fourth quarter. Now it's seventeen. Nine eagles going forward on a fourth into williams has broken up. Aj right not sit down. Eagles turnover on downs. So seattle gets it. And what do they do with it. You know what they do. Russell de que de que. Oh what a catch up and bringing it down. Ten grabs off hundred seventy seven yards for decay meant catholic field goal twenty two nine ensuing philly drive three chances at score forest down from the twenty one wentz. Goddard nobody home. Second down wentz rager incomplete. They gained six on third down. They go for it on fourth power again. Bear in mind there. Darren by eleven in the game. I don't know what that is picked off. Course in wayne's two hundred fifteen yards six sacks seattle wins twenty three seventeen and they do the black eagle fly

"Eagles went still hasn't won a playoff game. And he's at the bottom and several options of categories. Can you'll see that part up with asked if he would make the same deal again. I'll take a listen. Yeah i do it all over again. he's the guy we wanted Back then he's still the guy we want today and i love everything about carson wentz. He's a great leader for a team and our city. And and i do it all over again. All over again marcellus. Do you think the eagles are fully behind carson. Wentz fully bihar. They fully behind that cap number. They fully behind this dead cap number but they're not fully behind his performance. Who is how they're paying more and getting left from no and you could tell that this was all. Bs classic over correction you here to sap that came out of his mouth the gloss their glow to yuck. He was too extreme for me to believe that he was telling the truth. About al choke. Your quarterback is thirty first thirty second thirty first and has the most giveaways and major statistical categories. Yeah do it all again. Pay him the most amount at the position in the entire. Nfl and get the third worst production. I'll do it all again. And what was that giving up because people don't remember how they acquire carson wentz but let me break this down this is what they gave up for carson wentz number eight overall choice third.

My name was hurting. Just 'cause i fixed my knee didn't mean i was gonna fix that create kim my neck and that's what you're acting like the eagles paid carson wentz so it was carson wentz's job to cover up the multitude of sins everywhere else that's not the case. Oh dallas strong now. That was the pushback philly right here. Who now got a pushback again. Because guess what. I didn't grow up any brothers so i'm loving every moment. We can appear and talk some talk last year. I saw a fifth year quarterback leave his name out of it. Some more trivia fund he led the nfl interceptions he led the nfl and giveaways and was one off the lead in sacks given forty seven Wonder where quarterback is right. Now i know he's second-string snow people begging him to take over this starting He's at the harvard of quarterback schools new orleans. His name is james. Winston and amazing that people have their issues with james wisdom but not their same issues with carson wentz. When james winston never got an extension norton anything near thirty two and a half million dollars to beat a man so when i look at this carson winston on pace to have sixty four sex this season only one quarterbacks ever msac that many times david carr you know what he's doing what we're doing. Can i finish with this. He flees helped me this. I want to ask you a question. Because i wanna take your bison strip it down and get to you the main as you said emanuel. His decision making and accuracy is so suspect. I don't see him getting better anytime soon. Please answer this to me. Well you've seen him play bad for so long. Do you think he's going to really turn a corner and live up to this contract. I do this. I think that he will continue to have very bad games. But i think he'll his great games offset how bad his games. Or what do i mean by that. Don't don't don't take this literally. Brent fourth brett farve has some terrible games okay. Terrible seasons don't make the pro bowl because as bad as he was he made the pro bowl when he had a twenty one interception season. Because he threw for thirty four touchdowns as well i think the carson wentz is who. He is as far as his bad the problem. I have with you the problem. I have with the pro. They don't acknowledge the good ones out. Twelve interceptions this year. lead the league. Yes at least part of the past weekend. But does he also seventeen touchdowns top ten and touchdowns.

"Year. But one hundred percent covid-19. The basic fundamentals of football and that's why the Cowboys defense has been so so bad against the Run. Now so the Eagles beat the Cowboys and it wasn't really pretty they're actually losing 9 to 7 and half time. But against Dallas Carson Wentz had four turnovers two fumbles and two And a lot of lessons can be learned from Carson Wentz failures. The biggest lesson in my opinion is basically that Carson Wentz is trying to do way too much. He's trying to be Superman song and the Eagles have been hit by a ton of injuries. You know, I think Carson Wentz is trying to compensate to make up for it. You know, okay, we may not have the guy we need there and there and there but I'm going to put the trash my back and carry us to compensate for all the losses. He's holding onto the ball way too long. He's making risky throws. He's forcing throws into coverage and I often relate playing quarterback to being a race car driver do that all the time. And you know the offense and the system the play-calling I call that the race car and therefore the quarterback is the driver. And the problem is right. Now the Eagles offense is not a sports car. They're more like an old beat-up junker car so you can have a race car driver, but he's driving a horrible car. That's not actually a race cars. And Carson Wentz hates losing his very very competitive and his fear is that if I just do my job and do it. Normally I'm not going to able to help my team enough to win football games. And so Carson's competitive nature is part of the problem right now in Philadelphia, but Carson needs to realize you can't add two and be part of the Eagles problems on offense. Okay, you're missing a guy you're he ran the route. He this he did that seat of that. You can't compound a mistake with your own mistake and add to the problem. So Carson Wentz just needs to execute and do his job. Do your job execute the offense. I would say drive the car down the road your job as a quarterback. You're you're in charge of this really you're driving this incredible nice sports car club drive the car down the road do the little things execute. But the problem is Carson doesn't trust anybody around him and he doesn't trust the system run doesn't trust the play-calling and so of course and whence ever gets benched two things will have happened. Number one..

"Welcome back to speak for yourself. Haters addition let's talk about carson. Wentz is eagles are in first place. But he's been a turnover machine. These league was sixteen turnovers and his near the bottom passer rating and completion percentage. You hear that. I'll show so. I asked you this winter biggest disappointment so far this season in the nfl. Fill in this entire world honestly. You're probably a bigger disappointment than carson used to. You got text messages. Day was don't you tunis to k. Don carson wentz is by far not at all the biggest disappointment. This is a dumb question so silly question. You must've wrote this. You must have type. You must have thought it up this ludicrous. Love carson wentz. if anything. He might be the most resilient player this season carson wentz is. He might be the most mentally tough player. This season disappointment additive. I would use to describe it. I can think of some disappointments marcellus ca. I can think of some some guys across the league. But i'll get to them. I'm not going to diminish somebody else i just praise carson wentz carson. Wentz showed the most fight this season. Yes was carson wentz leading the nfc east. Yeah he is the the leading receivers since week. Four guy. that was a previous gone practice squad last year yeah he does carson wentz's he'd been with the most injury depleted roster in the nfl statistically the cowboys and the forty niners up to handle one carson. Wentz his he actually amongst everything still found a way to succeed. He has so. How can you come with me. With this disappointment energy. I got receipts so some other disappointing people say for my next lap. That by just gotta let you know that was ludicrous. Carson wentz is the most disappointing in terms of his ability in terms of his achievement. That he's had in his career so far in terms of the expectations. Yes he's the biggest disappointment. You have to add all those things up and then say what are we thinking of carson west and would is carson wentz actually doing like leading the league and turnovers. You can't be the number two overall pick and then being paid number three turns of amount of cash. Give it to thirty nine million dollars this year number two and number three but then i say well. How's he well. He's thirty thirty quarterback rate with the. Oh no no. That's not that bad because he's thirty seconds and completion percentage. His is second to last drew. Lock is bottom his second to last and accuracy big dog he's not an accurate quarterback regressing at its completion percentage of passer rating dipping every year since two thousand eighteen. Sixty nine and one or two Last year was sixty three and ninety three this year. Fifty eight and seventy three s. This was anybody else you know what you roll out how he cast him but he checked out the same thing. You said about the cowboys. This guy has gotten paid and has gotten worse..

"So I don't care how much money did you pay somebody? I? Don't that if I think if Russell Wilson was in the exact same situation and he's the quarterback for the Eagles and he has to deal with injury after injury. and New guy after new guy please don't tell me that you don't think that Russell Wilson might make a couple of bad decisions. No this is what I'm getting. This is what I'm saying that's a big time eagles fan too. I'm giving you the fact that look the eagles are in a horrible decision or in a horrible division and that Carson has made some really bad decisions at quarterback but you can't dismiss the fact of where he is where that. Michael on modern rewind and who they're bringing in. I'm not dismissing although it's a little bit like they have a ton of injuries they have guys. Like yesterday. Like last year I heard about mile senators who miles sanders if you watch the game mile and it's really good actually my lot all these problems on the on the offensive line actually he's really good I'm not denying that. Would feel pressure in Carson Winston position especially, if he has Carson Wentz, his talent to make things happen. What I am saying is if it's a second year quarterback on a rookie deal who hasn't learned his lesson like those, those that hero ball's actually usually killing the team, I would get it. He's a fifth year quarterback on one hundred, million dollar plus deal whose team would be better off if he would just play situational football like that's the difference situational football right now and just proper decision making an execution. That's an interesting Carson wentz in an elite quarterback. The Eagles. Are Paying for quarterback ain't getting it might you're what you're saying is? What you're saying is that if Carson wentz plays smart situational football that the eagles record is bettered into foreign one, are you serious and integrated? Medicine and last year they'd have been better to. That's right. Carson Wentz. How how many ways kill Eagles I may I may pours Carson Wentz give up on the defensive end? Car. To give up on data to actually actually it's funny. You say that when you turn the ball over nine times in your own territory and seven games, you give up a lot of points on the defensive end. Old. And Mike all over you Santa. Max. Kellerman. Show podcast. The Max Keller Kellerman show on ESPN RADIO.

"Be in a situation where our backs are against the law. You know we we left a lot of plays out there We're in the red, zone a lot and didn't score many points. So those are the things we gotta clean up and be better but when our backs against the wall and and we gotta make plays I'm guys all the opportunity to make coach a great job. Of calling the calling the game in those situations, we're playing fast putting a lot of pressure on the defense and you know we're obviously doing doing some good things in those situations and we gotta keep building on him. But again, ideally, we don't put ourselves in those situations. But when we need it, you know we've been successful for the most part so far think about the way the media frame stuff to this guy. Like he did something. To foreign one team, they beat one of the worst teams. In the League in the worst division in the history of football. In spite of Carson Wentz as many mistakes that I just outlined. As Carson. How how? Why are you so great no Carson Wentz is tough as nails. He has upper end elite talent. He is a mid pack starting quarterback because he makes bad decision after bad decision. And is. impossibly inconsistent. He's also regressed. He was an MVP caliber player not long ago and he is far from that nowadays. I'd like to welcome in now a die. Hard Eagles Fan. "Terrible set a lot without saying a lot nick I'll start with you what what did you make them? Peterson's honesty they're. Caught him off. I loved that I loved it because Brandon. You he betrays his whole feelings by his reaction. When he thought the Questioner said progress, he's like wait progress. The same. Y- it's not as good as it used to be art I wanNA. Make sure we all agree here he used to be awesome and now he kinda stinks and it bothers me too. So this is the hundred and twenty eight million dollar question for the Philadelphia. Eagles Brennan. What's happened to their quarterback? In two thousand seventeen he was a plus player until he got hurt against the rams in twenty eighteen. His numbers were good but he only played eleven games and there were five and six of those eleven games. So it was like a B. level player last year he played bowl season but didn't play very well, we blamed his receivers he was like a B minus plus player this year he's been a barely passing student at best he has four interceptions. He the team has been outscored sixty four to. Nineteen over their lives in ninety one minutes, a football and a lot of it that interception we just showed brandon was when they had come back in that game, they were down five chance to take the lead not that pick but the one in the end zone and he throws this pick in the end zone like I don't know what's wrong with Carson Wentz but he certainly is regressing is coach nosy. No I love the honesty but I don't think that was smart for him to do that publicly. I think you know he was being transparent I think. A lot of people organization. You know from what I'm hearing they don't really know. Why things are. Shaping out the way they are. But when you really look at it, you know look at Carson Wentz you know is there some things he can change? Yes you know from from a Fan's perspective you can see that he sloppy in the pocket you can see that is basis why at times causing him to throw the ball high. But when you see the big picture and you understand that it's it's not all on him. You know you look at the young poor wide receiver play you look at the veteran play it's inconsistent. There's Bay lack effort at Tom's. De Jack and then also whiteside you can say is worse. Off. INTO LINE NEAR BANGED UP, he has four five guys just banged up or not even in the lineup and another guy edit I are. So as a quarterback, would you want when you drop back or before you even dropped back when you get to line you WanNa, get your team in the right place you want to set the Texas. Okay. I know my backside is covered I, know if this nickel and his willingness frontside comes my running back, we'll pick that up. So I'm good there. So when I drop back. All I'm looking at is that one two, three, four high is a cover eight and where do I go with the ball and this is my wide receivers getting their depth or they were they supposed be. So when you look at all of that I I'm not shocked that Carson is struggling because they can't protect him. So of course, his feet is going to be sloppy in a pocket into he doesn't have good wide receiver play so he's trying to do too much I sit week one. All you gotTa do is hand the ball off settled as young men down, get this running game going so it can help this struggling quarterback struggling unit because he's trying to do too much right now, but it's not just him. This is a unit issue Carson Wentz. issue. So so brandon, you just did a better job than Doug Peterson did on the press conference I totally agree with you that there's no reason for him to say anything but spread out the blame rather than put it all on Carson Wentz like crossing broad because he's been bad crossing broad put a big list of statistics up other review qbr sixty, four, second last six yards per pass only three qb's worse fifty nine percent completion percentage twenty, nine, eight sacks tied for most twenty off target tied for most unique but listen if you're not going to Jalen. Hurts then just say what Brandon's GonNa say are ready to go to Jalen hurts and you can start like. Planting the seeds and. No regrets progress I don't know what's going on I'm just the coach but if you're sticking with Carson Wentz then nick I think there's a responsibility to build the guy up. Go ahead Jenna yeah is this a Jalen? Hurts conversation? Is this these early rumblings of a? Site order that controversy. I'd I don't believe that it's that all they're committed to Carson? wentz. But they know there is a problem and if you're Carson Wentz you yeah, you don't love the Doug Peterson I think he was caught off guard by the question and then had a moment of honesty and then spent the next sixty second trying to clean it up. But that opening ten seconds lives forever but. I'm old enough to remember when the NFC East quarterback debate was, who's the best Dak or Carson Wentz. There is a new debate in twenty twenty and it's between Carson wins and all.

I was just another day at work and she goes. You didn't call me when you knew he was is going to be on and I said I didn't know until I got on the it was going to be on. She got very upset. I told you my family doesn't care about me. Accept when I have a famous person. You're right about that. Yes Oh yes she. I Love Snoop Dogg Yeah. She didn't understand Miami many very very upset that the voice of Joy Taylor of course you're looking at their joy. What happens you know in our world? Nobody wants to have a hot. Take right yeah yeah right in a in a hot take. It's a strong opinion that is contrary into the market. That's different than everybody and I didn't bother me. I have some I have theories and belief systems that don't line up with everybody else. I don't think it's a hot take I think it's a unique point of view and I'm for all young sportscasters who go out and have opinions that are different but there was one that what happens when the world has a hot take and it's not unique and everybody has it and it's dumb that happened a couple years ago a win. Nick foles won a super bowl and you started telling me Nick foles was better than Carson Wentz and my head exploded the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life so yesterday pro football focus comes out and they grade the quarterbacks. Guess WHO's number one this year Carson Wentz. That's not having his deep threat to Sean Jackson in an weeks. That's having to tough road games at Lambeau and Atlanta tough place to plan a dome. That's not having his hall of fame left tackle for a game yeah that that that that that Carson Wentz is number. One Greg Cosell somebody I've relied on for about ten years. I brought him on two or three times. When this ridiculous Nick Foles is better than Carson Wentz discussion started happening and Greg Greg was beside himself? He didn't even want to answer the questions. Here's Greg when people suggest that Nick foles better than Carson well. That's ridiculous. I Love Nick foles. I you know and he's a terrific guy. I've been around him you know I think he's a really professional. NFL quarterback you can line up and win with Nick foles. I mean look he won a super bowl but I'm talking about over the course of sixteen games as you're starting quarterback you can line up and win with Nick foles but if if you're just talking about level of talent Carson Wentz talent wise is probably top five top six in the League you would never talk about Nick foles like that Carson Carson Wentz. I can't help you folks. He six five with a rocket arm. Wildly athletic can throw it from every angle if you can't see it I can't help you can nick foles was fortunate. He had this combination of Andy read into chip Kelly into Doug Peterson into Frank Reich. He had these very good offensive. Coach is one after another and was able to manage the game and a great roster in Philadelphia and and win. There's a reason they had home field advantage in the playoffs that year Carson Wentz got it form was going to be the MVP until he got hurt and like week eleven when people tell me Baker Mayfield I feel death. Let it come like if Baker Mayfield's athletic than Carson Wentz is Superman. He's an alien. There are five quarterbacks in this league and there's I can't help nope I would call them my fantastic five. They're just different athletically. Patrick mahomes Rogers Watson went and Russell. I can't help you if you can't spot. There's nothing I can do. I'm not saying they're always the best on every Sunday but I'm saying you can't argue with a straight face about their talent. They look different. They played different they they have arm angles Russell Wilson throw last week against Arizona that was cartoonish. It didn't make any sense to Shawn Watson and earlier this year. Play the chargers. He threw a touchdown pass. He escaped out of a pass rush. I'm not sure anybody but Russell Wilson in the world could have ever done it. Aaron Rodgers Mahomes. No Oh look arm angle over the top so you know this whole thing about the hot take society we live in the world was arguing. Foles was is better than wins now. There are things about went. I don't love of these three does Shawn Watson Carson wentz and Aaron Rodgers have had major injuries why why because my knock on win and I think it's a real one. It's the same knock had on Andrew Lock Big Ben Cam when you are born at Chris. Carter used to say this when you're born with the great voice. It's almost biblical you're going to sing. You're going to sing in the car. You're going to sing in the shower. You'RE GONNA sing right. You're giving a gift when you are given a six five two forty. You run a four for six. When God gives you and I'm not overly religious but when the guy upstairs gives you these gifts and then you sandpaper them and you amplify Dan because you work really hard you get kind of this fearless quality this this kind of bulletproof quality? We're GONNA take hits. I'm GONNA hold onto the ball longer and Carson Wentz can do do that and I don't like it about him an errand does that and I don't like it about him into Sean does that. I don't like it about him but when they do that about every third time they do that. Oh it's the the greatest play on tape you've ever seen in your life so I think that's that's the burden that duality of gifts. I mean Whitney Houston when you have a voice like that it's sometimes hard to manage. It's it's such a gift when you get the gift of Erin the gift of wins the gift of Deshaun Watson. It's really hard to manage it because it is so special. It's gotten you out of trouble since high school and you sometimes you're fearless and that's my knock on Carson Wentz but can we now officially pro football focus. I'd like to thank you for ending. My head started hurting ending. What was the dumbest take in sports in the last two years that Nick foles Nice Kid was better than Carson Wentz enough thank you oh I see excuses are already coming for Aaron? Rodgers shift gears big blaring headline today wide receiver Davante Adams the top packers hacker's wideout unlikely to play for Green Bay against Dallas so Tom Brady's ladies had super bowls without Gronk Julian Edelman Mr Season Josh Gordon Relapsed Randy Moss was traded mid season and wes welker bolted because they wouldn't given extra fifteen cents in New England and Tom Brady wins regardless 'cause Tom Brady is a great communicator. Tom Brady is a great leader. He introduces himself to every player Scout team or not forges relationships so tom doesn't become dependent on his favorite receiver or or one guy. Here's another guy who has this quality. His name is Russel Wilson. He'll play tomorrow night on Fox. Everything works with Russell Wilson Russell. Wilson Awesome is now making will dizzily a very good tight end will Disney caught two passes in colleges junior year. He was a defensive end just said he can catch a little. That's moving too tight end at the University of Washington. He's UNATHLETIC. He is now a favorite target Russell Wilson. He's a blocking tight end and now he's a really productive tied in by the way he also took Doug. Baldwin undrafted from Stanford made him a pro bowler. Oh by the way Tyler Lockett was a gadget guy out of Kansas state people were like he's good that you know you use them for a couple reverses. He Kinda Gadget Guy. Oh now he's a great player with Russell Wilson and what to Tom Brady and Russell Wilson have in common their great communicators you you don't hear people you know they get along with everybody. The unsigned the small and and I think this is what Brady and Russell have that Aaron doesn't doesn't Philip door set was a bust in Indianapolis. He was a first round bust last couple of weeks. He's been the most valuable receiver for the Patriots. They take small guys undrafted guys gadget guys they all work because everybody works with Brady and Russell Wilson because because they're great communicators Aaron Rodgers has the talent to overcome the loss of Davante Adams but you have to forge relationships nation ships in isn't that always been my knock on Aaron he struggles with authority. He can struggle with coaching. He can struggle with family. He can struggle with teammates. After about seven eight people call you out. I want to say some of it is true so Davante. Adams has out so what Russell Wilson Loses Doug Baldwin literally retired Doug Baldwin out of the blue. I'm retiring we I it hasn't hurt Russell Wilson one one bit this year he's having his best year as a pro and he lost his most dependable wide receiver and he takes will dizzily and decay metcalf and he's taken all these guys nobody's heard of. Have you ever noticed that Russell Wilson. I mean anybody it all works. You didn't watch Julian Element in college. It all works. I don't know England's at a different leading receiver in every game this year and they haven't even had a tight end it always works quarterback is not just about armed armed talent. It's about leadership and communicating and the two best communicators Russell Wilson Brady of that position. I put drew brees in there as well these these guys. I don't want to hear excuses. It's a conveyor belt of missing pieces guys. Leaving Brady's had guys relapsed traded. MIDSEASON GRONK is outdraw outdraw retires element hurt for the year never fazes him so Davante Adams so what so what I just watch watch Teddy Bridgewater beat Dallas Gate you go beat Dallas all right good so I have never until a couple of days ago invested in Bitcoin Bitcoin is a and what are they called those crypto currencies and so I decided to couple of not not a lot of money but a little bit of money I decided to low money in Bitcoin yeah and so I thought to myself well am I comfortable with the turbulence of Bitcoin I said Yeah and we have a player in the NFL quarterback who is the Bitcoin of the NFL and it's going to.

"All that stuff was that about decision. I sure as hell don't believe. So considering the type of player that Carson Wentz has shown he can be and can be in the future. Football is one big gamble after another. It's a gamble off the field when you're constructing your roster. It's a gamble on the field when you're leading them. Hang, and calling fulfilling the Super Bowl me. I'm not going to live in fear of Carson getting injured the same as I wouldn't for any other player, I won't assume anything I don't know. And I'm not going to let it get in the way of enjoying it when Carson plays. Well, and I won't point to it when it's not relative, when he doesn't play well brand Ben you can see things better than area. That's not okay. What are your what are your thoughts on the, the long-term the, the health stuff the gamble stuff like all the stuff being thrown out there right now? Right. So there's several things to talk about here start with the. The things I know the least, well and then moved to things that guy. No, the best. Well, number one, I do not know about Carson Wentz health. I know that in twenty seventeen years playing really well, and then he towards ACL I know that in twenty eight teen he played good football as a quarterback, but he lacked some of his mobility it was very clear to see when you when he was on the move. He wasn't as explosive as he used to be. And also, we know that likely in part due to likely in, in relation to injury in his like the injury in his back was not something that happened one game. And then he was out. It was something that was either happening over time or what happened for a while. And we didn't know about it was present during the end of his playing time in twenty eighteen so he was playing injured for favorite of time. This is the things that, though, that we know well, can can I ask you this real quick, like I'd do the injuries being different types of injuries. I see the ACL and then the, the back being more of a bone thing. I've see the hairline fracture and everybody's making a big deal at in adding. This into the equation like the preseason games. He missed what would have definitely played through anyway. The hairline fracture when he was a rookie added into that taking a look at those two season ending injuries essentially are them being different types of injuries better for you, because I think it's, it's actually kind of a big deal. It's not like a guy who's getting the same type of injury over and over again. It's a freak injury. And then it's a different type of injury. Does that kind of alleviate some of the concerns for you moving forward? Not really. And this goes to the point that you know about what we know what we don't I just don't know things about injuries. You know what I mean? Like I and this is critical. Right. Like anybody who's doing some cost benefit analysis on the risk of signing Carson given his injury history, we need to knowledge, like, I don't know anything about injuries. I don't until I, I have no leg to stand on which will listen I like me personally, we talked to this at the time I think the back is connected to the leg. I think that like because his leg was. There's a lack of stability is a lack of, like, you know, internal geology the cohesion like, you know, the full athlete, like sort of like concepts like the holistic -ness of the body. The I think they're related like, you know, your back is what you use very often to, like, like make up for you know what I mean. Like you use it to, like, Saul imbalance us another places, but the, the moral the store here being, I do not know things about injuries. I know that Carson Wentz has ended his last season's injured in. That's objectively, not good. But there's a rainbow of ways that, that can happen. I don't know where we are on the spectrum, which brings me to point one b point to, which is I do think it matters. And at least is a signal if not something stronger that the eagles extended Carson Wentz pretty much like two weeks after the first one is on him in training camp. I absolutely matters..

"I think all I did a good job of kind of breaking down the running different offense who had Nick foles. And I think that's something that gets talked about in this Philly voice report, how it was a different offense and some players some sources felt like I don't know if they're players, but some sources felt like offense was being run with through Nick foles as opposed to you know, Nichols. Having all this control over it. Like Carson Wentz had wanted to have control over it. Now, one of the things in that report that I thought was kind of unfair was about how it said every time Carson Wentz would have input there'd be an interception or a sack and every time. He just followed. What the coaches do it always worked out? I mean, that's kind of just that's a little pretty unfair to me that to say into suggest that like Carson Wentz was just the the bad guy, and the coaches were fine. And I don't know does that. Kind of give you. Perspective or information on who the sources could be. If it's saying the coaches, we're never to blame. I don't know just kind of thinking out loud here. It's a lot of this podcast is about just giving you some my thoughts on the situation. But obviously we've heard some rebuttal on this Carson Wentz. Scathing report that came out from some of his teammates, we saw Fletcher Cox immediately jump out to his defense. Now, I think it's a little interesting or it's no it's worth noting Frederick is in those offense of meetings. Sees he's a defensive captain. And he's a clearly one of the best players on the team. So I'm not saying is word means nothing here. I'm just saying you have to consider that. But then Bernie Brookes who is on the side of the ball, certainly came out and support, of course, when sodas Zakar it's so did lane Johnson so to Torrey Smith who's no longer on the team, but certainly in the wide receiver room last year sort of Nate Sud Velde who works in the same quarterback room. With Carson Wentz and shoot. Obviously have a good feel for him given the amount of time. They spend together and decent. Kelsey also gave a lengthy statement. Those are all up on bleeding greenish dot com. If you want to read them, so we're seeing players support. Carson Winston, look, it's obviously not like they're going to come out and say, you know, all the report is true in rip him like death never going to happen. So what makes it interesting to me? Then is an might be more telling is who hasn't spoken out and favor of Carson Wentz. And as I am recording this on three oh two pm.

"Anyway. And I'm not saying this report is necessarily being unfair in the sense that I think it is sourced. And I think Joe, you know, he he obviously did talk to these people with information. But I think how we perceive. This information can be taken a little bit out of context. And I think it can. Be extrapolated to to maybe give more weight to it than it actually deserves in the sense of. I don't think because this report comes out means that eagles are doomed at quarterback forever. And I think that's your takeaway. I just think that's a little too harsh. Now, I'm not saying it's not concerning at all. By just think there's always room for somewhere in between the the doomsday scenario and everything is fine. And I think that's kind of where the story lies lies in between. Everything is fine. And this is a real issue. It's somewhere in between those two things now. Something I've talked about a lot and something I think is the crux of this. Carson Wentz story considering seems to be a lot about his attitude and how he is perceived is character all those kind of things. And by the way, the report does say a lot of his teammates. A lot of sources feel like Carson wins is a very hard working intelligent all the kind of adjectives. We've heard about him and things we just know about him to be true based on the work ethic. We've seen those things are true. It's not like, you know, this report is saying that he's just the worst person in lazy. And no, that's not what this report is saying, you know, you have to actually read the report in and understand like for you know, as much as there is going to be Carson Wentz criticism in this report that also does give him credit in some areas and one thing getting that to are saying though about the crux of this being about Carson Wentz, his personality and. The way he's being perceived as that I just don't think Carson wins is necessarily mature as he could. Ideally be in. Now, I've talked about this before I mentioned this. I believe radio thirty one a couple of weeks ago. Maybe even as recently as the recent the last episode we did here where I and this is something I've been thinking about for a while now..

"Up the put up a hard fight against the saints. But ultimately, they fell short, and we all know the restrictions along the way in the two thousand eighteen season. So it's only natural that these kind of things are going to come out. I think that's something you have to consider. I don't think it's like, you know, the eagles are the only dysfunctional team in the NFL if you're framing it that way. It's just not the case also think that arson wins certainly isn't Hilmi quarterback in the NFL who's ever had a story. Like this written about them. I'm sure you can find already mentioned the Tom Brady thing. I'm sure you can find ones for Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers and number of quarterbacks in this league. I think you can always spin certain qualities as positive or negative. You could say Carson Wentz is a control freak he wants to control everything or you could say Carson Wentz. You know, has a strong ideas about what he wants to do and he wants to be involved. So it's all about how you frame things. And how you spin it as well. So I think it's always the point being there. Why I'm saying this is it's important to consider biases in perspective on both sides on all sides into knowledge. Those and to kinda, you know, just so we're we're being fair inaccurate all around so. Another thing. I wanna say coming out of all this is that none of this changes. Carson Wentz is standing in my opinion with the franchise. I mean Doug Peterson said it last week that he is the team's franchise quarterback. Just because report this comes out does not mean all of a sudden the user keeping Nick foles and getting ready Carson Wentz. That is not what's going to happen here. It's just not the if these issues in the story did exist do exist. I'm sure that you have to have some level of awareness about them. And I think they would know that before they would come out and say Carson Wentz is their franchise quarterback. So just wanted to say it, I don't think really anyone is doubting that. But in case, you are it doesn't really change anything in that perspective that arsons is this team funk term enter now. Because that very fact is true. I also think it's important to note that Carson Wentz not some bum. I I don't know why. I mean, I guess I do know why? And it's because. Nick foles has success. And Carson Wentz had some struggles. All the sudden Carson Wentz sucks. But I think people have been way too hard on Carson as a player. Let's leave the off the field stuff aside. Just for a second talking about Carson Wentz the player, and this is something I had talked about in BGN radio episode thirty two John Stolnis that I just feel like Carson went to gain too much hate, you know, you look at how he had a better passer rating then Jared Goff Tom Brady, both those bags are in the Super Bowl this year, by the way, Andrew luck Dak Prescott Aaron Rodgers two thousand eighteen among other players. And I'm not saying passer rating is the perfect stat. I think a big issue with it. In fact, wins is it doesn't account for fumbles which have been an issue for him. But the point is that you can't have a better passer rating than all those guys and be a complete bum. You just not how it works. I know Carson was not perfect in two thousand eighteen and you have to consider by the way, not only did he have. A better pass ratings than all those guys. But he was also doing it with a fracture in his back and coming off two major injuries in his knee with a tornado CEO and a tour Elsie. Oh, so I think it's just important to put all the context and now to be fair to Joe and his story from Philly voice. They knowledge all that. So they included that in there. But I just felt the need to reiterate it because I think people are a little bit two months down on Carson Wentz. And that's part of why the story from the Phillies is frustrating as an eagles fan as a went Carson Wentz supporter because it just feels like it's more ammo for the people who are kind of being a little bit unfair to him..
