Mitch Trubisky Expected To Start As Chicago Bears Quarterback Over Nick Foles
"Let's start off talking about your pal and my pal super bowl fifty, two hero nick foles and when. The Chicago bears traded for Nick foles over the off season for a fourth round pick we all largely assumed it would be to replace Mitchell trubisky as the team starting quarterback. Otherwise, why do you go out and trade for Nick Foles? Mitch Trubisky is a pretty bad quarterback in the Chicago offense. Last year was pretty dreadful with Mitch Trubisky as signal caller and the two were. They were involved in some kind of quarterback competition this summer in training camp everyone I think myself especially just figured Nick foles would win that job. Well, NFL DOT com reporting that trubisky has beaten out nick foles for the starting quarterback job in Chicago. Remember all that talk about whether the eagles should keep foles or go with Carson wentz. Now, he can't even beat out Mitchell and I love Nick foles this is not me bagging on Nick foles but I'm finding it hard to believe that Nick foles doesn't look better in Camp Than Mitch Trubisky you Mitchell Trubisky is literal. Well, listen to the numbers. Okay. The bears offense averaged seventeen and. A half points per game last year and ranked in the bottom five points per game and in total yards. Okay. Trubisky through for thirty one, hundred, thirty, eight yards, seventeen touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He's a terrible quarterback he looked like he might be improving in two thousand eighteen he played pretty well in the bears playoff loss to the eagles especially at the end of the game when he made some big plays, but he regrets terribly in two thousand nineteen. That's Chicago offense was awful and Trubisky was one of the big reasons why only seventeen touchdowns on the season? There's a reason there's a reason the Chicago bears went out and got nick foles. And Nick foles has a higher ceiling the Mitchell trubisky. You can't tell me what after what we saw Nick Foles do in that playoff run in two thousand seventeen that he doesn't give you a better chance to win. Unless Nick foles arm is falling off for or age has really set in in a big way with Foale's we don't know because we haven't been able to watch any preseason games. So we have no idea what's going on in matinees training camps and what's happening behind the scenes, but it's mind boggling to me that they're going to go with the guy who in Mitchell trubisky you know what he is by this point and you know what Nick foles can do. Both of these guys have a low floor. There's there's no question we've seen nick foles when he's not on play terrible football he's not a good quarterback when he's in one of his slumps but when he's hot. There are few that can match nick foles can do when Mitchell trubisky is hot. It's only slightly better than not. So Great Mitchell trubisky what and we just to think about what Nick Foles did in those two playoff games in the NFC championship game, and then in the Super Bowl to do what he did on that stage and the love that his teammates have for him I just it's a it's a very curious decision by Matt. Nagy and the Chicago bears to go with Mitchell trubisky over nick foles but that's the decision they've made I think. Long Story, Short Nick Foles my prediction will start more games than Mitchell trubisky this year when all is said and done nick foles is probably you're starting quarterback not long after the season begins and my guess is if he stays healthy nick foles starts more games than trubisky this year. Because I know the bears aren't really that smart and I know they they sunk a lot into trubisky drafting him when they did. But at some point, you just got to cut the cord move on I i. We don't know what's been going on in training camp at. Nick foles must've looked really bad in training camp for them to go with trubisky over him.

"Mean I know that he's the greatest of all time but it number fourteen overall the fourteenth best player in the League number five quarterback. Maybe that'll be justified by the talent around him in Tampa Bay this year but it sure does look like Tom Brady is on the downside and I, don't know how you have him as a top five quarterback right now you've Aaron. Rodgers at number six, overall number six, number six, quarterback number sixteen overall is Aaron Rodgers the six best quarterback in the in the league yeah I guess so but you Rogers hasn't done much I mean he s Green Bay had a great year last year and they made it to the NFC championship game. So I suppose you you have Aaron Rodgers here and that's fine that's fine. The Shawn Watson at number seven. Okay I can probably see that. But here's where it starts to get a little wonky folks Jimmy Garoppolo at number eight. Jimmy G. got the forty niners to the Super Bowl. But the forty niners offense is predicated on running the football not on Jimmy Garoppolo sling in the Rock and Apollo had a pretty bad second-half in the super bowl last year and really the the offense does not go through Jimmy. G.. It goes through the running game not Jimmy G. Guy. They have Dak. Prescott as the number nine quarterback overall. I think that's a fine spot for him. I'd have him ahead of Jimmy Garoppolo. and. Then you have kirk cousins at number ten, all these quarterbacks among the top one, hundred players league they they have NFL players have kirk cousins number fifty, eight overall as the fifty eighth best player in the NFL the Tenth Best Quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a great second half last year. It's clear that his marriage with the titans went really well, they hit them the number eleven quarterback number sixty eight overall really Ryan Tannehill Josh Allen as the number twelve quarterback number eighty, seven overall ahead of Carson Wentz cuyler Mary at number, thirteen. Number Ninety overall maybe cuyler Mary gets there this year. He's not there yet where the heck is Carson Wentz on this list. And this is again, it's a stupid list. It's silly to get this worked up over it, but I have some questions one of two things happening here. The players clearly don't know anything which seems hard for me to believe they're playing every week, and my is if you ask other quarterbacks around the League about these quarterback rankings, they would have a very different list. But how is Carson? Wentz not seen as one of the thirteen best quarterbacks in the NFL by the players how is that possible? How is Jimmy Garoppolo Kirk Cousins Ryan Tannehill Josh Allen Think about that Josh Allen ahead of Carson Wentz cuyler Murray if you went around the NFL and you ask them, who would you rather have as you're starting quarterback you mean to tell me. That players would say they'd rather have Josh Allen Than Carson Wentz, their starting quarterback. That they'd rather have Ryan, Tannehill Ben Carson Wentz that they'd rather have Jimmy G. or kirk cousins you might be able to sell me on Kyla molitor based on the future in front of him. But I'm you know I'm still taking Carson Wentz Carson wentz still has a long future in front of him. You can make the case for Deshaun Watson and Dak Prescott ahead of Carson Wentz I can buy that I totally buy that. And everybody else on the list Aaron Rodgers Tom Brady drew brees, Mahomes, Wilson Lamar Jackson obviously all have Carson Wentz. That's fine. But how do us how you selling people on Jimmy G. Kirk Cousins Ryan Tannehill and Josh Allen All have Carson, Wentz and Cuyler Mary to. Kyle Mary hasn't done it yet. Is it so either, the NFL either the players don't just don't know anything. Or is it possible that players around the league just don't like Carson is this personal because this feels personal to me. We know that there are many in the eagles fan and maybe some of you listening. Have have a dislike for Carson Wentz and the arguments of their. He can't stay healthy he he didn't Nick Foles who won the super bowl the eagles don't win the. Super. Bowl of its Carson Wentz people again one forget about Carson Wentz his MVP regular season in twenty seventeen and we know the struggles he had eighteen in nineteen and we know that he he had some down. He had some down moments in in two thousand nineteen we remember those those games in the middle of the season where he lost. To remember who he was playing with. It to take into consideration the Games early in the season when he was in position and delivered perfectly thrown balls to too wide receiver. Su If they had any modicum of ability would have gone up in and won the game for the Eagles, in Carson. wentz in eagles would have been often running last year and it didn't happen. It's just mind boggling to me that the that the players would have those thirteen quarterbacks ahead. Of Carson Wentz in and I don't know where they would have Carson Wentz would they have? Are there others that they would put in front of Carson? I mean, it's just it's it's ludicrous. So it's either personal. Or, they just don't know anything which which one of these options do you WanNa be NFL players and it's one of those two things here either dumb. or or it's personal against Carson Wentz. So I say all this in the hopes that Carson listens to the podcast and Carson. Posted.

"Hello. Beating Green Nation and welcome back to another edition of at the podium. I'm your host John. Stolen. So you can follow me on twitter at John Stolnis and coming up here in just a few seconds we're going to hear from Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz who came to to training camp looking all swallow. Been hitting the weight room obviously this off season and we're going to hear what Carson had to say he had some interesting things to say about this upcoming NFL season as it relates to the corona virus and some of the challenges that lie ahead for the Eagles and the rest of the NFL and talk a little bit about his experience with some of his wide receivers, his first impressions with some of the young guys we're GonNa get to all that coming up here in just a few minutes but before we do that I, WanNa talk to you about something. Stupid. Just, GonNa come right out and tell you this is stupid. Top One hundred lists lists in general they can be fun sometimes but let's let's also understand that generally speaking and and I agree Jimmy Kamsky for the Philly Voice, and of course BGN radio host. I think said in an article that he wrote for the voices this week that these T- and I agree with him one, hundred percent, the top one, hundred lists the vast majority of them are stupid specifically because when you're talking about the NFL, you've got so many different. Positions that do so many different things and the quarterback position is obviously the most important position and it's not even close and you've got different positions that matter more linebackers versus edge rushers in in the like it's hard to put it lists like this together and yet when a top one hundred list comes out, we all kind of gravitate to it because it is something fun and interesting to talk about at a time when there really isn't a whole lot to talk about. But I thought this, there's a new top one, hundred list that was. Put out by the NFL and it's a player list. They asked players to submit who they believe are the top players at each position and to give their list of the top one, hundred players in the league, and we're going to run down every single one of them. No, we're not going to do that but I. Did want to talk specifically about some of the eagles that made the list. But what really caught my eye were the quarterback. Rankings and and this is going to relate to Carson Wentz here in just a minute. So again, this is a list of the top one hundred players that were voted on by the players themselves and the big takeaway from this list is that I don't think the players know who is good and who isn't. So five eagles made the top one hundred but nobody made the top fifty and only one player was in inside the top seventy, five and. That was Fletcher Cox who came in at number seventy, three Zach Ertz was the second highest ranked Eagles player on this list at number eighty, five, Darius slay came in at number ninety two. Jason. Kelsey was ninety four and Brandon Brooks who is out for this year came in at number ninety eight. So only four of the five eagles that made this list are actually going to play here in twenty twenty and I don't really have too much of. An argument with those I would have thought that maybe Fletcher Cox would be a little higher on the list but Cox did not have a great season last year. So it's fine. You know it's this list is fine. It is what it is right I mean this is not anything to take too seriously. But what really caught my eye with a quarterback rankings and I would think that of all the positions, it would be easiest to judge the quarterbacks. Light on them. What they do on the field. It's easiest to see what their accomplishments are, what effect that they have on the game is, and you'll notice that when I listed those five eagles right there in the top one hundred that Carson Wentz his name isn't among the top one hundred players in the League and and I'm not gonNA put up a big stink about that. I'm not going to go through the whole but I. Could make an argument that he should not be among the top one hundred players in the League I. Personally think that he is I would certainly have him probably among the top seventy, five players in the league. But when I did my list of the best players in the NFC east, I had him as the Tenth Best Player in the division. And we all know that this is not exactly the strongest division in the NFL. There are a ton of positions across the field with great players and other divisions with more talent. So if if they don't have Carson Wentz in the top one hundred, I understand that's fine. I disagree I think he's a top one hundred player. But when you look down the list of quarterbacks, you have to wonder what it is. NFL players are looking at or maybe they just don't know what they're doing. Their list had Lamar Jackson as the number one overall player in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens quarterback as the top player in the league. You can make an argument for that. Now, Lamar Jackson has had one albeit great year, but one great year Russell Wilson is it number two on the list as the second best player in the NFL and the second best quarterback given his career given. The fact that he went to two super bowls a row and won one of them that he seemingly. Gets Seattle no matter what kind town he has beside him no matter how he's being held back by Pete, Carroll that he continuously has the seahawks super bowl contenders year in and year out. So you could make an argument for Russell Wilson where he is but to me and I think to just about everyone else who watches this game Patrick Mahomes is clearly the best player in the NFL clearly the best quarterback in the NFL and they've got him at number four overall and the third best quarterback in the League. Folks this isn't this isn't even a ballgame Patrick Mahomes is far and away the top quarterback in the League Lamar Jackson has to do it for more than one year before you make him the number one guy before you put him ahead of Patrick Mahomes, I would have I'd probably have Lamar, Jackson blow, Russell Wilson to its Mahomes Wilson Jackson for me is the top three quarterbacks in the NFL. It's it's unfathomable given what mahomes did in the super. Bowl. That, you don't have him at number one overall his first two seasons in the League have been historic it's beyond bonkers but here's how the rest of the quarterbacks went down and here's where the Carson Wentz stuff comes into play drew brees at number four. That's fine. Number Four quarterback number twelve overall Tom Brady at number five. Did you see him play last year? I..
Cowboys' Prescott doesn't get deal to replace franchise tag
"Not Deal for. Prescott and the cowboys could not agree to terms on a deal that would have the quarterback between thirty three and thirty five million dollars annually with a hundred and ten million of that guaranteed. So Daf will now play this season on the thirty one point four million dollar franchise tag. He will once again on himself this season if there were reports that the two sides were close, they clearly were not close enough. WHO's more likely to regret? Not Getting a deal done deaf Prescott or the Dallas Cowboys. I'm going to say. Despite the fact that I believe is going to end up the highest paid player than Patrick Mahomes in NFL, history I Dak is going to get the money that he ultimately wanted I think he's going to be franchise tag this year franchise tag next year and then hit open free agency. But here for deck that in the in the pursuit of that money, he's going to become an athlete that I. Don't think any athlete wants to be which is your name is not your name anymore? It's not Dak. Prescott is having a Joe Johnson Joe. Johnson stopped being Joe Johnson. He started being Joe Contract because no matter how good he was, he was never going to be able to live up to that contract. And I think Jack is setting himself up to be a little bit richer than he otherwise would be. Be a guy who can never live up to that contract, and the reason I think Dallas is not gonNA regret this, even if they back on the quarterback treadmill is because the the worst thing you can have in this league. Wild does not have a quarterback. The worst thing you can have is a vastly overpaid quarterback. If you don't have a quarterback and find a new one, you can go try to find one if you have a vastly overpaid quarterback. You're just stuck and so I think Jack is going to get what he thinks he wants in this the most money in. Have ever gotten aside from Mahomes I. Think he will end up regretting it because you have a great organization, you have great skill, position guys, and if he would've just signed for Carson, Wentz plus ten percent, no one would've held it against him, and instead this contract and the negotiations around at wild. You're going to be the narrative surrounding him for years to come. See I disagree. You think that it's it's. I think the worst thing to have is a mediocre quarterback. Any shot at the super. Bowl and I'm GONNA throw to a clip of Darren Woodson in a second, but I think in our minds if it's been glossed over that, it was troy and then Tony, but there was a the drew bledsoe Weirdo error there that they were in a bad spot. If we can take a listen a Darren Woodson please hubs. In, the world when you have quarterback purgatory. Where you can. You're not good at that position. That position is holding you back from winning games, and there was a time before Tony Romo era. Where there were four years, we went five and eleven. In a week, totally struggled at that one position in in today's game that one position is means a ton means wins and losses gotta get you over the Hump in when you don't have that Clare in that position. It's a huge struggle. I'm. So. Bryan. I think this eventually gets done I. Don't know if he gets franchise again. I think that we just moved the goalposts and a long-term deals going to get done. They like each other. Dak wanted for the cowboys wanted five I. Don't think the answer is. Let's get divorced just because we can't agree. I think this eventually get works gets worked out and I. Don't think anyone has any regrets long-term. The cowboys ended up regretted. Just a bit because I think that goes out and has a very good year. This season with Mike McCarthy Mike McCarthy comes back in after winning a playoff game or two, and says we need to have Dak back now. The cowboys have to pay him that long term contract, which is going to be a little bit more than they would have had to pay him this year. Here's the question that I've always had. If if the cowboys don't love, why would they ever want to sign him to a five year deal versus the forty deal if you don't love them then? On to a four year deal, you can get rid of him quicker. Why would you want WanNa longer contract if you don't love him, and you don't know exactly what he is for your football team to me I think they know who back is they just don't WanNa, pay him because they see him as a fourth round pick. A guy that has played well in this career hasn't quite got over the Hump. I don't think they want to pay him if I'm back Prescott I, feel like I'm in a great position to meet the floor. The absolute four is thirty three to thirty five million dollar contract that you can get from some other team after the season. If things don't work out for you here in Dallas, I think a team like Jacksonville. Teams that would need a quarterback was still need a quarterback next year and would be that open market possibly if he doesn't give franchise in the floor to his contract would be that deal that he turned down this season from the cowboys.
72% say Philadelphia Eagles would have won Super Bowl LII had Wentz been QB through entire season

Carson Wentz embracing Eagles' decision to draft Jalen Hurts
"You mentioned the whole quarterback thing and going out and creating competition carson. Wentz spoke yesterday excited. The jalen hurts now there and he says no issues with what? The Eagles did in the draft trust their decisions. I trust how we the rest of you know the the staff to to make the best decision for the team. And so you know. Obviously we went out in the first round and gotten exposed to playmaker. I'm extremely pumped until you get to work with him and the rest of the guys that we've added in the draft so I've nothing but confidence in their ability to to put together the best three man roster that we can
Carson Wentz embracing Philadelphia Eagles' decision to draft Jalen Hurts
"While the NFL offseason workouts remain on hold Carson Wentz is going to welcome a new quarterback when those workouts resume in person W. said banking reports there was quite a reaction from many eagles fans on the team selected quarterback Jalen hurts in the second round of the draft however Carson Wentz insists he is excited about the team's decision and believes keeping the quarterback position strong across the depth chart is important do you think no I know how important the the quarterback position is and how important the dynamic some wonder the move indicated a concern the organisation has with winds but once believes nothing is changed with the team to believe in him and that the organization reinforce that commitment with this contract extension last year there's no concern for me I think the the teacher showed their investment in me yeah last year we were once is had plenty of sleepless nights not related to his job as he and his wife continue to say with the birth of their daughter which took place on April twenty

"But Nick let me ask you this. I think something like that could give a guy like Carson Wentz a bit of a complex. There's a statue of the guy that basically went in there when he was injured. Won a super bowl outside the stadium. There Doug Peterson has to come out and be like your guy. You're the man you're the franchise but we drafted another quarterback. I don't know between that and what happened with Nick foles guy like Carson Wentz and get a little bit of a complex. Maybe that affects him. Going into the season will if it affects him that he's not the Guy. I think he is like this. Is I put this in the same bucket as the media distraction. I mean the idea that these pro athletes are so emotionally and mentally fragile. That anything that upsets the HOMEO- STASIS. They're not they're not going to be able to handle. I just reject as certainly not for the guys who I think can be league. Mvp caliber talents such as Carson Wentz. And I just think this is being viewed through the wrong prism now. I was skeptical on. Jalen hurts as an everyday starting quarterback in this league and I still am which is why I think Philly is such a great spot for him. They have solidified young under contract franchise quarterback and they will use Jalen in other ways and then he can be break glass in case of emergency in case Carson gets hurt. And I I'm going to have a gratuitous namedrop here I apologize but I talked to Wayne. Who is who.

Tua Tagovailoa's Recovery Shakes Up the NFL Draft
"Time last year to ten goodbye. Loa was the consensus number one overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft but when a devastating hip injury in November ended his season at Alabama his NFL future was cast into doubt now with new reports. That too is recovery is on track. Teams are debating whether his elite talent is worth the risk and the entire draft. Looks like mystery? I mean at times? It's Tuesday February. Eighteenth this is espn daily presented by ADT. Todd Todd mcshay is an NFL draft in college football analyst for ESPN so todd. The last time we saw Tunga Velo on a football field. He was getting started off with a hip injury and it ended his season and Alabama title hopes along with it. News broke last week regarding the status of his recovery. What we know now well first of all I was there that day and it was brutal to watch behind. He's down to us. Down Helmet came off. This is exactly what you did not want to see happen and I was probably ten. Maybe twenty yards away from him as the to. Mississippi state defenders converged on him. And you could just tell right away. Something was wrong but then I saw the bloody nose at first and they said the trainers got. The plastic wraps in there has the gloves on their hands and and I just thought all right. They're they're just taking care of his nose and he'll be done for the day and then he went to stand up and you could tell just how deep his knee drove his leg into his hip that something was seriously wrong so it's good to hear that he has passed his first test. If you will sources confirm to ESPN at the most recent tests show is healing well and has good range of motion to what could get back to football activities in a month if he continues to progress well and is now moving onto the second phase of of the Rehab and recovery stage. There's still a lot left to determine and there's still a lot of rehab to go so that's going to be the biggest thing in terms of his evaluation between now and late. April's draft is where is he? And what are the doctors really? Think about the long-term WanNa talk to you about his injury and the draft. And you know the time line for all of that but I I wanNA talk to you. About what a good football player he is because prior to that injury he was the base star in college football. And you've been watching him for a long time wind it I strike you. This guy's got this stuff how `bout that throw in the national championship talk. He had never started a game and now he's in the National Championship with the game on the line he was coming off of a bad play was able to shake it off. He's keeping his is down the middle of the field and he's working that safety just a little bit to the right. He's trying to move the safety as much as he can because if he does. He knows that he has Smith's breaking down the sidelines. The is move the safety just enough for him to go back to Smith and make the throw of the year. I mean he just knew the spot that he had to get it to and to come in the second half and to have the confidence to lead Alabama to a victory. That kind of told me everything about him. And from that point he kept developing. But if you go back and just really study his tape the things that make him special his deep accuracy is as good as you're gonNA say he's so quick twitch he's like a drew brees from the left handed side you know just how how works in the pocket and goes from one read to the next but keeps his is married to his feet. He fits what you want in today's NFL. But is he going to be healthy enough to with that hip recovery to to have that quick twitch nece and and the ability to to move as quickly as he has tie? You're around these players but also these programs. What did you hear about how to? Oh was handling the injury in his rehab process. Everyone loves him. There's a calmness and a poise about him that you rarely see with with college quarterbacks or any college player so. I'd like to leave you with this from one of my favorites McGraw songs. When you get where you're going don't forget turn back around and have the next one in line. Always stay humble and kind so confident but so humble talking. Nfl SCOUTS IN GM's not a negative word about him. He's a special human being and wherever he winds up going. He's going to be the face of the franchise obviously but he's kind of a culture changer if you will and and. I think that's part of the draw in part of his value. It's not just this injury right. He's had other injuries that have caused him to miss time. He broke a finger sprained. A knee injured his quad. The ankles even before all of this. How much of a concern with that? It's a big. It really is a big concern and the problem is if you study the history of it if you look back. I think it's the last ten years or seven quarterbacks that had college injuries there were first round draft picks that all of them have had some varying kind of durability issues in the NFL from Rg. Three to SAM. Bradford Shawn Watson Marcus Mariota Carson wentz Teddy Bridgewater Jake Locker. All of these guys have gone on to have injuries now. They're not always the same injuries. Some guys are are just injury-prone and just knowing. Nfl teams in the amount of time and the amount of studies that they do. Especially at this position. Especially with first round picks. That are going to cost you. When you're talking about quarterbacks in the top ten twenty to thirty five million dollars in guaranteed money they're doing the research on this and they all know this. You know your job over the course of these college football seasons you're not just evaluating these players you're thinking about where they'll be drafted if to ahead gun her at that point in the season where do you think he would have gone. I think he would be the first overall pick. I think if two was healthy Cincinnati would be taking to a number one overall. I really do if he didn't suffer that injury. We would be having a great debate between two a ton of Iowa and Joe Borough but ultimately my guess is that too would probably be the decision at Number One and knowing Cincinnati. They'd probably they do something to maybe move out of that spot. Make a mistake and let Miami or the chargers Carolina come up and get that pick. If I'm being honest he's he's better than Joe Borough and I love Jober but if you tell me these two guys are going to have ten year careers with no injuries. I'm taking two but then I've got a measure. R Joe Borough has been durable. Jost has shown the ability to kind of fight through pain a little bit more and to stay healthy and so. That's really the deciding factor. In my opinion I have to ask you know. Why do you think he's better than borough? I mean rose coming off of arguably the greatest season we've ever seen by college quarterback. What is it about two as game that you prefer? If I knew he was going to be healthy I think he just kind of fits a little bit better in terms of what what the NFL is today. Terms of getting the ball out quickly and being decisive and then also when you take shots down the field. But I I love Joe Borough to if I WAS CINCINNATI. I would take her over to because of the durability issues. Borough is worth the the first overall pick and I think Cincinnati would be making mistake if they didn't take jober tied. You have to take proof your analysis because you're gonNA get clipped saying to us better than Joe Borough and that's GonNa Follow you forever. You've been spending too much time around.
Analytics in the NFL
"Going to talk about these Brown the whole topic of analytics because Mike when you think of mate Alexi often think about major league baseball. And you know Bill James's cyber metric revolution. Should Billy Bean moneyball the book movie all the rest of it and wanted Billy Bean's main guys was Paul D Badescu. CUPID ESTA LA. Believe in the as he goes the mets eventually. Now he's with the Cleveland Browns. Tired and twice sixteen says famously. I don't know too much NFL. But I've got all this information all this analytics we'll make things work also infamous said he didn't think Carson Wentz was the top twenty quarterback now now as we look at your column today. Athletic is always. You can subscribe the athletic read. All Mike's work there the war between analytics and football people is pointless. The real challenge is finding someone who can properly understanding process all the data and then make the right decisions and how to deploy and I'm not sure. The browns have solved that problem yet. They hire Kevin Stansky is their head coach. Why why are you skeptical at? They've solved it. You know I like Kevin and I and I don't mean to be critical Kevin. But I think Kevin's a really smart guy. And I think Kevin's obviously you know well. Educated aided came through the coaching ranks. The right way started on the ground floor worked his way up. I just think it's going to be a real challenging job for him because he's got to manage a lot of personalities in that locker room and deep. Pesto said at the press conference that they were looking for a leader. And you know. And I think that Kevin's probably more of a guy who's low key. Quiet it you know has a shared vision with everybody and that doesn't mean he's not qualified. That just means to me I think the vision of what the browns think they need. And what what. I see the browns needing in terms of somebody to come in and be able to handle Odell Beckham because look like Odell Beckham. The little like Michael Jackson Right. I mean he's is not compliant right he will show up on time. He'll do what he has to do right but the one thing he will do is he will create people following him he will create and so what he doesn't come to. Ot Days where he doesn't want to do things or he wants to go out. Color outside the lines dominic does he. Will you know get the people follow him. And who's going to challenge him to do that. Who's going to challenge him to do that? You know and I thought it was funny. Ad When you know they asked Stefanski Gi you know what did Mayfield think of you like. I'm not really worried. Would Baker Mayfield thinks of me. I'm worried about what I think. Baker Mayfield Shinto like I don't have to make Baker Mayfield Happy Baker Mayfield to make me happy. And I think you can look at all these analytical numbers and it's great but at some point football's a game a leadership. Football's the game of toughness. Football's a game paddle. Football's a game of conditioning. Football's a game of making people do things they really don't WanNa do right. You need intelligence. You need all those things but you need grit. You need some of that and I just think that the way they handle this they obviously got somebody who's more collaborative than dictatorship and. That's what they wanted on it. I'm not sure that's what they needed. As you mentioned the com- analytics is just another word for information. And when you worked for Bill Belichick or walls work with them. You know you were feeding them. Information to quote gridiron genius. The fact you Mike Holmgren were good friends. He called you scooper because you were so tune in and what was going on around the NFL. Hiring coaches like homeroom is a convoluted path to building a staff. It required Walsh to spend lots of time and energy coaching his coaches. That was why he hired guys. Who are intelligent before there? Anything else guys. Were not typical products. The football industry his special teams coach. Fred von happen may still be the only coach in NFL history who read Sylvia plath every day before heading out to the practice field. Maybe the violence of her poetry help to prepare him for the carnage of kickoff coverage. That's a great quote but just to further the point about Walsham ballot check and how they assemble their staffs. Yeah I mean look. Nobody was more cerebral lim bill right but he's a real tough guy. Nobody's more cerebral than Bella check. And he's a tough guy and Fred. Von Was a tough guy you know and he'd read Sylvia Plath and he was was excluding the part that she put her head in an oven and he literally read that every single day it was unbelievable and his vocabulary was incredible vocabulary. Sorry but they had a sense of toughness and I think that parcells is the same way. parcells wants to hire guys from the Military Academy. He wants smart people right. Everybody wants smart people. They want smart people but they also want smart people that are going to be branded and do what they wanna do. And demand from the players not collaborate from the players and I think that this analytical nonsense is truly we're all in the information business so all the information is really important in my belief is that we're missing in the point when somebody puts on and says well there in eleven personnel. And they're doing this and that like do you understand what the eleven is and what they're really trying to accomplish. I mean Tevin Coleman was the running back that was the main back this week because Kyle Shanahan wanted a running back. Who's GonNa Threaten Mike Zimmer in the backfield because Mike Zimmer was gonNA play three linebackers now once that happened that according to the chart? That's twenty-one toward the analytic he's in twenty one personnel but he's really not because he's got Coleman in the game he's only in twenty anyone with Coleman because he's got three linebackers so how do you differentiate that you know. How do you break down the information you know? There's so many times I've been in meeting with Bela check. I'll be watching tape. And I made a comment. He said well the only reason they're doing that is because they're doing up about anyone into that you know like oh I got it now I got you just taught me something right. Like that's the game
Jadeveon Clowney expects death threats for hit on Carson Wentz, says Eagles have 'worst fans in the world'
"Early that hid from Jadeveon Clowney that ended when since season many fans say it was a dirty hit even though the refs didn't think so yet another injury for Carson Wentz in some pundits are using it to question his durability is toughness but Gordon and so many other fans are not buying that at all get a concussion it's not like he had like a soft tissue injury like what he could do to prevent him from getting a concussion and all the eagles fans can do now is hope the birds come back stronger and healthier
Seahawks power ahead in NFC playoffs as injuries weigh down Eagles
"Fans like Brandon to help us with so many injuries the eagles had overcome including the Carson Wentz yesterday all they can do is be proud of their team the new year I can't really complain you know did pull up the sound then maybe just not enough fire power in going back to the Carson Wentz entry a lot of eagles fans very upset at the Jedi are Clowney hit that event took amount of the first quarter only nine minutes and and its first playoff game ever to so many feeling that maybe Connie was head hunting there and the rest did not see it that way and turned out to be the last and biggest blow Brandon the tables had to face
Seahawks 17, Eagles 9: Carson Wentz and season lost in same game
"Eagles lost their playoff game tonight and their quarterback the birds were beat by the sea hawks at the link it's happened without person wins the most three games left early with a man with a head injury one of these that party was watching the fans that have lost forty four in center city he has reaction to all the heartbreak person wins his playoff debut ended shortly after it started his point before a live link yet home field advantage but as Kelli watch tells us she's sitting next to me she's a Die Hard fan things just didn't go their way and she says she's not really surprised about it right Kelly that's right I always actually shocked we got into the playoffs every year with very exciting that we got here but you know honestly I unfortunate either way and that's because you were thinking the eagles were looking so good that was kind of an ugly season for them yeah I was a rough season for sure for the best of the NFC east which was exciting and I felt good going in today that would be an ideal when your star quarterback gets injured and it looks a little bit gloomy it's hard to come back from what did you think of the back up when he came in a forty year old quarterback yeah make our has looked good and he tried his hardest unfortunately it just wasn't enough to get there but I really hope for the better of that but it didn't work out unfortunately so go back to work will be rough for eagles fans tomorrow call it the Monday bird blues
"carson wentz" Discussed on You're Wrong... And Here's Why
"They don't you know they along India's trade policy like the time Robert Covington adult care what you think. The brunch can't Wendy's Christine. Let's discuss everybody. Welcome to this week's episode of you're wrong and here's why I'm Chris Forward L.. Joined by Greg Cronin to take to not that not the highest take. We've ever had to get into show. But but take to experiencing some technical issues on Gregory side in the form of a dying headset which is sub optimal for this format. Going back to the old school roussin. This is not going to be the best audio we've ever had. But WE'VE GOT GREG WE'RE GONNA GONNA do the show We did just behind the scenes thing here. We did just get through our first topic. which was that? The bill should be favored against Dallas. This weekend it's GonNa come off is disingenuous if we try to argue it again after having both heard it. So we'RE GONNA WE'RE GONNA skip. Let's just say I got my first win the look. I don't concede that by any stretch of the imagination. My main point and I stand by it is that is absolutely absurd that the bills go into Dallas Dallas this weekend before sportsbook has them as a seven point underdog but that is for our purposes this week. Neither here nor nor there we're going to talk about why the Eagles should trade Carson Wentz this off season. We're GONNA talk about. Why Luca Danni because having the best age twenty season any player in NBA NBA history? And then we're going to see we're going to see what happens here on the holiday week because this is always going to be a short show and with technical difficulties we're going to. We Are GonNa skip that first topic they can just maybe some some free talk in the third segment. Just just hang out and see what happens. That's the best teaser I can give Greg tell me why Eagle should trade Carson wentz wants Chris to do local stuff for me ask you do it every week. I we end up sort of careening into that that sort of thing but it doesn't become much more of more than just a local scenario I don't think Carson Wentz is a bad quarterback that is not my own. Oh I don't think that he is the eagles issue the main problem with my parents from you the issue the issue here is that that he will never ever ever get over the fact that Nick foles won the Super Bowl. The Eagles winning the Super Bowl was the worst thing could have happened. In in Philadelphia Eagles Franchise History and the reason is is because every play or take every play Carson. wentz tries to win a superbowl. It is so clear he forces things. He's overreacted to stuff he. It lives in a giant mansion inside of his head that they won the super bowl with out him with Nick foles under center. And it's not as fault. It's not as it's an impossible situation to be. It's the expectations are so high so high that people overlook the fact that the Eagles had a million people out. Oh yesterday really haven't had a receiving core this year or most of last year. I mean at all the blame falls on him. So what has to happen is they both need a reset. The Eagles as a franchise need a reset. It's not nate. Sud Feld it's gotTa be some other different move with the town and in napped apt general manager It's gotta be something and you have to give Carson a chance to go elsewhere where this this pressure of trying to live up to. MVP numbers that he was putting up in two thousand seventeen before the injury And that person was not on him anymore to do that. I think he's totally misconstrued construe. Where those pressures coming from this pressure is coming solely from the fact that Carson Wentz is trying to make an offense work without NFL caliber players at skill positions? Sion's do you know who the active leading receiver was own for Carson. Wentz this past weekend. Are we talking. Just receivers Burger with hugging tight ends as well talking just receivers which would have receiver had the most career catches career catches. It would have been Jordan Mathews. That's that's fair. This season this season it would be probably. Jj or single whiteside. Gregory was Mac. Hololens Mac Collins was leading active receiver from this year for Carson Wentz. This past weekend and Mac Collins hadn't had a catch since September going into this weekend. He he does. There's no question about that and I think that's where this this pressure is coming from whence to try and do things himself on offense. This is you. You're not a Howie Roseman Fan. I well aware of that. You called him a I believe mediocre general manager just moments ago but the the biggest failing for for how we in in my opinion was was the Arthur. Whiteside pick you you go into a draft that is strong long at wide receiver. And you decide that. Oh we're going to get a replacement for our twenty-eight-year-old receiver. Not The thirty two year. Old and the thirty two year. Old and Sean Jackson now granted a guy who has been fairly a fairly durable over the course of his career is the key part to the offense without the Sean Jackson. This team has no one that can stretch the field and that means guys like Zakar get bracket coverage. They get double teamed constantly. And it's impossible to do anything you know the ash on Jeffrey injury certainly didn't help. But Jeffery has also been just incredibly mediocre this season. He's fighting injuries as it seems. Like Alshon Jeffery has always fighting through injuries. He has lost a couple of steps and he didn't come in particularly quick. He's not getting those fifty fifty balls that he has in the past. He's just he's a below average receiver and he's the number one without the shod. Nobody stretches the field and if nobody stretches field safeties can creep up and if safeties can creep up. There's no room for anyone in the offense to work and that was certainly the case this weekend and it didn't help that lane. Johnson was out with a concussion. And you know we saw a regression of the anxiety Zaidi issues that have plagued brandon brooks in the past that forced him to come out after one drive. That further jumbled the offensive line how a plot device tie which who was is playing right guard had to right tackle after Andre Dillard Gut benched because well he's not a right tackle and that's fair enough so matt. Pryor fire came in to play right guard all of a sudden instead of Dillard and Brooks on the right side You have Matt Pryor and Hal plot divide high whence getting pressure on every play a mile. Sanders can't run. Jay can't run because there's no hole to hit the issue isn't Carson Wentz. Next season look wants is going to be here. There's no about that. If the eagles were to move on from wants this off season they would incur sixty two point. Four seven million dollars in dead money on their salary cap can't happen there's legitimately no way Carson wentz will be traded non within the realm of the salary cap. NFL So we assume that whence will be here dear. Jeffrey will be here. Because bizarrely they guaranteed contract for twenty twenty and cutting him doesn't make sense to. Sean is going to be here. Because he's still under contract act artha whites is going to be here because he's going to be in the second year and then I'm drafting three receivers. I'm I'm hoping that Henry Rugs is available when working in the first round and if they keep getting bad you know they keep losing these games it might it might be a case where you could potentially even trade up for Jerry Judy. If if you're in that range it doesn't seem like it's outside their own possibility right now where they stand. I'm taking a receiver again in the third round. I'm taking receiver again late. All of these guys are GONNA be fast the late round guys going to be a kick returner and you go into next year with Carson a healthy offensive line. And that is that includes Andre Dillard at left tackle Jonah Jason Peters because as much as I love. JP His season his season with career is over. They go in with with Jackson with whiteside nightside with Jeffrey with rug slash judy with another rookie in the third round with another rookie late with Goddard with Earth's with Sanders and with Jordan Howard and the offense is going to be just fine the other the other critical element they have to go into. Next season is a new offensive coordinator Mike grow has been a disaster and offense coordinator for the Eagles. He's a guy who was. I've mentioned this in the past because I think it's funny but it also rings true. He was fired by his father. His father fired him from May job in football. Like that's how bad he is. He's a micro micro has done nothing but fail upwards over the course of there's NFL career. It's incredible he should not he should not have a job right now. Neither should Carson Walsh of the the eagles wide receiver coach. And you know in Korean. Could you make the same case on the defense with the defensive backs but I'm more concerned about replacing grow. I'm more concerned about replacing Walsh. I'm more concerned about bringing in a new quarterback coach. I hope Josh mccown is either the quarterback coach of the offensive coordinator next year. I would absolutely love that. I think he's a he's a football genius and you so you saw this past weekend K.. J. Right came out and he said we knew what they were going to run before they ran it. And this is something that we hear time and time and time again with Philadelphia. Yeah this offense which was so creative and unpredictable. A couple of years ago with with Doug Peterson and Frank Reich and and the gang the depot is now incredibly predictable offense i. It's not innovative in the lease teams. Know what's coming and it's impossible to win. When teams know what's coming and your skill position players are below replacement level? Here's here's a bigger issue. Though Chris. This season is going the only to end like this. We will put forward the dolphins. We will mop the floor with the giants. We will mop the floor with the redskins and we will go into. We'd six six weeks sixteen. We will get demolished by the Dallas cowboys at home in. Everyone's going to freak out and lose their mind yet again because the cowboys Stink Austin Austin the lost tapes of the show and they're terrible. Their coach is terrible and going to mop the floor with us because our offense does does not know what they're doing I don't want to Trade Carson Wentz. I don't want to move on from him but I think this is a situation where he is never unless unless he wins a super bowl he will never be that same quarterback that he was before the injury. He just won't do it Chris. We saw it last year. We made the same type of excuses. It's the same thing these continue to add up I love Carson Wentz. I just bought my daughter a Jersey a week ago after after the stinker against the Patriots but here we are a week later. We're having the same problems in the past two Zakar. It's that was picked off that's Bad on that Zagreb's central hall of fame tight end. That's not on Zach that's on Carson. Wentz did not have a good game. He he was getting pressured constantly. I understand that and I fully get under pressure Lee. NFL is is a serious problem and there is lackluster but the the criticism of Wentz is even ramped up because of the situation prior. Because of what did it's ramped up by Dell fans it's random and by dumb national broadcasters ramped up by everything and then you end up in situation where when. He didn't play that bad against the Patriots. He wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. It wasn't it was terrible yesterday. And it gets magnified because of this situation because of this weird unique situation where we had a backup quarterback with a team That was pretty much unbelievable. Win a super bowl against the best quarterback head coach combination of all time. And that's that's essentially what it is. It's a weird fluky thing that I that is tearing apart the franchise on the fan base. You would think that after you would a super bowl you know you would be able go into a situation where we could coast for a year or two with the you know. We want to fire everybody. But we're already there. We're not even thirty. Two Games removed from that situation where we were hosts hosting the Lombardi trophy. Everybody's had each other's throats about Carson wentz. I have to listen to people who who I know for a fact. I've never watched more than twenty minutes of a game. That wasn't the Super Bowl. Tell me Nick foles would be better with this team. Newsflash to the Nick foles crew. I Love Nick. I bought a Nick Foles Jersey in two thousand and eleven or thirteen. Whatever year he was twenty after twenty seven and two he was so good? I I've had a phone Jersey forever. I've been old guy was mad when we traded him the first time. Nick foles doesn't even Kinda stinks. I mean if you watch the Jaguars gave you stay staying Titan Right. You know what I mean. He's not he's not some superstar Soothsayer. Fixer of what this team problems are. Nick would be just as much trouble Yesterday as Carson was do we forget the six nothing drubbing that Dallas gave holding his in his two years ago in the Super Bowl Year. That that Christmas Day beating the cowboys or the cowboys gaping holes and folder terrible herbal. I mean if it was any of his time right now with Jacksonville you can see the struggles that he's having..

"Nick right shows up this hour Joel Klatt Ah argue with me next hour which we could have snoop Dogg on again today. He was fantastic. My wife got upset with me yesterday. She asked me when I got home. What did you do today at work and I talked about stuff and then later in the day she saw snoop Dogg was on the show and she said you didn't mention that to me and I said well? I was just another day at work and she goes. You didn't call me when you knew he was is going to be on and I said I didn't know until I got on the it was going to be on. She got very upset. I told you my family doesn't care about me. Accept when I have a famous person. You're right about that. Yes Oh yes she. I Love Snoop Dogg Yeah. She didn't understand Miami many very very upset that the voice of Joy Taylor of course you're looking at their joy. What happens you know in our world? Nobody wants to have a hot. Take right yeah yeah right in a in a hot take. It's a strong opinion that is contrary into the market. That's different than everybody and I didn't bother me. I have some I have theories and belief systems that don't line up with everybody else. I don't think it's a hot take I think it's a unique point of view and I'm for all young sportscasters who go out and have opinions that are different but there was one that what happens when the world has a hot take and it's not unique and everybody has it and it's dumb that happened a couple years ago a win. Nick foles won a super bowl and you started telling me Nick foles was better than Carson Wentz and my head exploded the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life so yesterday pro football focus comes out and they grade the quarterbacks. Guess WHO's number one this year Carson Wentz. That's not having his deep threat to Sean Jackson in an weeks. That's having to tough road games at Lambeau and Atlanta tough place to plan a dome. That's not having his hall of fame left tackle for a game yeah that that that that that Carson Wentz is number. One Greg Cosell somebody I've relied on for about ten years. I brought him on two or three times. When this ridiculous Nick Foles is better than Carson Wentz discussion started happening and Greg Greg was beside himself? He didn't even want to answer the questions. Here's Greg when people suggest that Nick foles better than Carson well. That's ridiculous. I Love Nick foles. I you know and he's a terrific guy. I've been around him you know I think he's a really professional. NFL quarterback you can line up and win with Nick foles. I mean look he won a super bowl but I'm talking about over the course of sixteen games as you're starting quarterback you can line up and win with Nick foles but if if you're just talking about level of talent Carson Wentz talent wise is probably top five top six in the League you would never talk about Nick foles like that Carson Carson Wentz. I can't help you folks. He six five with a rocket arm. Wildly athletic can throw it from every angle if you can't see it I can't help you can nick foles was fortunate. He had this combination of Andy read into chip Kelly into Doug Peterson into Frank Reich. He had these very good offensive. Coach is one after another and was able to manage the game and a great roster in Philadelphia and and win. There's a reason they had home field advantage in the playoffs that year Carson Wentz got it form was going to be the MVP until he got hurt and like week eleven when people tell me Baker Mayfield I feel death. Let it come like if Baker Mayfield's athletic than Carson Wentz is Superman. He's an alien. There are five quarterbacks in this league and there's I can't help nope I would call them my fantastic five. They're just different athletically. Patrick mahomes Rogers Watson went and Russell. I can't help you if you can't spot. There's nothing I can do. I'm not saying they're always the best on every Sunday but I'm saying you can't argue with a straight face about their talent. They look different. They played different they they have arm angles Russell Wilson throw last week against Arizona that was cartoonish. It didn't make any sense to Shawn Watson and earlier this year. Play the chargers. He threw a touchdown pass. He escaped out of a pass rush. I'm not sure anybody but Russell Wilson in the world could have ever done it. Aaron Rodgers Mahomes. No Oh look arm angle over the top so you know this whole thing about the hot take society we live in the world was arguing. Foles was is better than wins now. There are things about went. I don't love of these three does Shawn Watson Carson wentz and Aaron Rodgers have had major injuries why why because my knock on win and I think it's a real one. It's the same knock had on Andrew Lock Big Ben Cam when you are born at Chris. Carter used to say this when you're born with the great voice. It's almost biblical you're going to sing. You're going to sing in the car. You're going to sing in the shower. You'RE GONNA sing right. You're giving a gift when you are given a six five two forty. You run a four for six. You have a massive arm. When God gives you and I'm not overly religious but when the guy upstairs gives you these gifts and then you sandpaper them and you amplify Dan because you work really hard you get kind of this fearless quality this this kind of bulletproof quality? We're GONNA take hits. I'm GONNA hold onto the ball longer and Carson Wentz can do do that and I don't like it about him an errand does that and I don't like it about him into Sean does that. I don't like it about him but when they do that about every third time they do that. Oh it's the the greatest play on tape you've ever seen in your life so I think that's that's the burden that duality of gifts. I mean Whitney Houston when you have a voice like that it's sometimes hard to manage. It's it's such a gift when you get the gift of Erin the gift of wins the gift of Deshaun Watson. It's really hard to manage it because it is so special. It's gotten you out of trouble since high school and you sometimes you're fearless and that's my knock on Carson Wentz but can we now officially pro football focus. I'd like to thank you for ending. My head started hurting ending. What was the dumbest take in sports in the last two years that Nick foles Nice Kid was better than Carson Wentz enough thank you oh I see excuses are already coming for Aaron? Rodgers shift gears big blaring headline today wide receiver Davante Adams the top packers hacker's wideout unlikely to play for Green Bay against Dallas so Tom Brady's ladies had super bowls without Gronk Julian Edelman Mr Season Josh Gordon Relapsed Randy Moss was traded mid season and wes welker bolted because they wouldn't given extra fifteen cents in New England and Tom Brady wins regardless 'cause Tom Brady is a great communicator. Tom Brady is a great leader. He introduces himself to every player Scout team or not forges relationships so tom doesn't become dependent on his favorite receiver or or one guy. Here's another guy who has this quality. His name is Russel Wilson. He'll play tomorrow night on Fox. Everything works with Russell Wilson Russell. Wilson Awesome is now making will dizzily a very good tight end will Disney caught two passes in colleges junior year. He was a defensive end just said he can catch a little. That's moving too tight end at the University of Washington. He's UNATHLETIC. He is now a favorite target Russell Wilson. He's a blocking tight end and now he's a really productive tied in by the way he also took Doug. Baldwin undrafted from Stanford made him a pro bowler. Oh by the way Tyler Lockett was a gadget guy out of Kansas state people were like he's good that you know you use them for a couple reverses. He Kinda Gadget Guy. Oh now he's a great player with Russell Wilson and what to Tom Brady and Russell Wilson have in common their great communicators you you don't hear people you know they get along with everybody. The unsigned the small and and I think this is what Brady and Russell have that Aaron doesn't doesn't Philip door set was a bust in Indianapolis. He was a first round bust last couple of weeks. He's been the most valuable receiver for the Patriots. They take small guys undrafted guys gadget guys they all work because everybody works with Brady and Russell Wilson because because they're great communicators Aaron Rodgers has the talent to overcome the loss of Davante Adams but you have to forge relationships nation ships in isn't that always been my knock on Aaron he struggles with authority. He can struggle with coaching. He can struggle with family. He can struggle with teammates. After about seven eight people call you out. I want to say some of it is true so Davante. Adams has out so what Russell Wilson Loses Doug Baldwin literally retired Doug Baldwin out of the blue. I'm retiring we I it hasn't hurt Russell Wilson one one bit this year he's having his best year as a pro and he lost his most dependable wide receiver and he takes will dizzily and decay metcalf and he's taken all these guys nobody's heard of. Have you ever noticed that Russell Wilson. I mean anybody it all works. You didn't watch Julian Element in college. It all works. I don't know England's at a different leading receiver in every game this year and they haven't even had a tight end it always works quarterback is not just about armed armed talent. It's about leadership and communicating and the two best communicators Russell Wilson Brady of that position. I put drew brees in there as well these these guys. I don't want to hear excuses. It's a conveyor belt of missing pieces guys. Leaving Brady's had guys relapsed traded. MIDSEASON GRONK is outdraw outdraw retires element hurt for the year never fazes him so Davante Adams so what so what I just watch watch Teddy Bridgewater beat Dallas Gate you go beat Dallas all right good so I have never until a couple of days ago invested in Bitcoin Bitcoin is a and what are they called those crypto currencies and so I decided to couple of not not a lot of money but a little bit of money I decided to low money in Bitcoin yeah and so I thought to myself well am I comfortable with the turbulence of Bitcoin I said Yeah and we have a player in the NFL quarterback who is the Bitcoin of the NFL and it's going to.

"Today's show is going to be about Carson Wentz. But I there is an update on the Malcolm Jenkins situation as we enter mandatory minicamps. He has reported to the novacare complex for mandatory minicamp. That's great news. And on Monday afternoon, he spoke with six ABC's Sherry Williams saying, quote. I'm really excited to be back with the team contract. Situations are always a part of the business that need to be addressed the next few days. I'm going to focus solely on football and helping my team win championship on quote Williams also tweeted out earlier today, an update on the contract situation with Jenkins saying, quote source with direct knowledge tells me, Malcolm Jenkins will be at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. This is, of course before the other news broke no changes to current deal. But talks ongoing with eagles and heading in a direction that now has him committed to attend on quote, so that is also encouraging news. We'll have more on the Malcolm Jenkins situation as it unfolds, but I don't think you'll find many voices arguing against paying Malcolm, Jenkins here at BGN considering what he means to this team from talent and a leadership perspective, moving onto the main focus of the show, which is Carson Wentz talking with the media for the first time since his big pay day. We discuss Carson's for your one hundred twenty eight million dollar contract extension last week on. Kissed and Solex show. Ninety eight also we got some thoughts from Beal g on BG on radio episode fifty eight. This is what Bill G had to say about the extension and Carson Wentz is a guy who you've seen his upside. I mean, this is what it comes down to for me. Ten the eagles be in position to win the Super Bowl. Carson Wentz the answer. Yes. Like we've seen it literally thought it happened. Now are someone's didn't finish the job himself. I get it. And he needs to prove he can do that. But we know for a fact that parson winds can play well enough to where he puts the eagles in very good position to be able to win the Super Bowl and that has been goal. So we know that we know the upside is there. We also know his character. This isn't a guy who's going to go out and get in trouble or do something stupid. And even though they're the yes, there were the locker room concerns and that something on Carson Wentz admitted to his credit. And I think even you look at so you look at that you look at his willingness to kind of work on himself not only as a person in that regard. But also. For him to go into this year, exchanging his diet in changing some of his routines, like that socio to me, like this is a guy that is willing to work on things. And I think that's why the lowest drafted this guy he goes in draft Carson Wentz in trade up for him at number two because they thought he was perfect. He had no flaws of that player doesn't exist. There's always players that have lost. They saw a guy that had flaws and they said, okay. I know because of this guy's mental makeup in how he's wired. I'm comfortable betting on him to fix those things. And that's what it comes down to. I think ultimately not only with drafting him, but the contract extension here, it's like this is a guy who has some issues, but the upside is worth it. Justifies the risk in that's absolutely how I feel about it. So to me, it's a pretty good bit. So that was Bill G from BGN radio, fifty eight giving his thoughts that show also has a ton of talk about Joe Douglas his move to New York Jets to become their general manager, make sure you check that out and subscribe to bleeding relation. On whichever app, you're using Lee five stars Lieber review. Alright gentlest. Let's get to the reason that you're here with us today. First up is Jeffrey Laurie with his opening statement followed by Carson. They're both at the podium. Let's not wait on any longer. Let's go to that right now..

"All that stuff was that about decision. I sure as hell don't believe. So considering the type of player that Carson Wentz has shown he can be and can be in the future. Football is one big gamble after another. It's a gamble off the field when you're constructing your roster. It's a gamble on the field when you're leading them. Hang, and calling fulfilling the Super Bowl me. I'm not going to live in fear of Carson getting injured the same as I wouldn't for any other player, I won't assume anything I don't know. And I'm not going to let it get in the way of enjoying it when Carson plays. Well, and I won't point to it when it's not relative, when he doesn't play well brand Ben you can see things better than area. That's not okay. What are your what are your thoughts on the, the long-term the, the health stuff the gamble stuff like all the stuff being thrown out there right now? Right. So there's several things to talk about here start with the. The things I know the least, well and then moved to things that guy. No, the best. Well, number one, I do not know about Carson Wentz health. I know that in twenty seventeen years playing really well, and then he towards ACL I know that in twenty eight teen he played good football as a quarterback, but he lacked some of his mobility it was very clear to see when you when he was on the move. He wasn't as explosive as he used to be. And also, we know that likely in part due to likely in, in relation to injury in his like the injury in his back was not something that happened one game. And then he was out. It was something that was either happening over time or what happened for a while. And we didn't know about it was present during the end of his playing time in twenty eighteen so he was playing injured for favorite of time. This is the things that, though, that we know well, can can I ask you this real quick, like I'd do the injuries being different types of injuries. I see the ACL and then the, the back being more of a bone thing. I've see the hairline fracture and everybody's making a big deal at in adding. This into the equation like the preseason games. He missed what would have definitely played through anyway. The hairline fracture when he was a rookie added into that taking a look at those two season ending injuries essentially are them being different types of injuries better for you, because I think it's, it's actually kind of a big deal. It's not like a guy who's getting the same type of injury over and over again. It's a freak injury. And then it's a different type of injury. Does that kind of alleviate some of the concerns for you moving forward? Not really. And this goes to the point that you know about what we know what we don't I just don't know things about injuries. You know what I mean? Like I and this is critical. Right. Like anybody who's doing some cost benefit analysis on the risk of signing Carson given his injury history, we need to knowledge, like, I don't know anything about injuries. I don't until I, I have no leg to stand on which will listen I like me personally, we talked to this at the time I think the back is connected to the leg. I think that like because his leg was. There's a lack of stability is a lack of, like, you know, internal geology the cohesion like, you know, the full athlete, like sort of like concepts like the holistic -ness of the body. The I think they're related like, you know, your back is what you use very often to, like, like make up for you know what I mean. Like you use it to, like, Saul imbalance us another places, but the, the moral the store here being, I do not know things about injuries. I know that Carson Wentz has ended his last season's injured in. That's objectively, not good. But there's a rainbow of ways that, that can happen. I don't know where we are on the spectrum, which brings me to point one b point to, which is I do think it matters. And at least is a signal if not something stronger that the eagles extended Carson Wentz pretty much like two weeks after the first one is on him in training camp. I absolutely matters..

"I mean, I don't really think. So if they already had a plan to I think, you know, they're there. This report isn't going to change anything. I think if anything if it does teen something it puts more pressure on Carson Wentz to deliver in two thousand nineteen. But the reality is it wasn't like there was ever no pressure on him to perform next season. Because he even admitted it after this year where you look out Nick foles has performed over these past couple of seasons in relief of Carson Wentz and having won the Super Bowl then having helped. Guide the team to the divisional round this year. Carson Wentz admitted that does put pressure on him, and he doesn't need to step up. And he knows he needs to be better in two thousand nineteen and if he's really committed to that you would hope that he he knows maybe that he has to yield some control in some areas, and he needs to do whatever it takes. And that always might not be his idea to to get to where he needs to be. So that's where it all kind of comes down to for me. That's the bottom line as stone cold Steve Austin would say he needs to play better next year. That's just the bottom line. And I think there's reason to believe he will again, he's getting a full off-season assuming he can stay healthy, which is something he needs to prove. He's going have time to work on his game. And I think that's important because last year he didn't have that. He just he was rehabbing all the time. He did not participate in OT as or the, you know, the voluntary spring drills at all. And then. And training camp. He was really only limited because the kind of pulled him from the the eleven on eleven stuff. He was doing some seven on seven stuff, but he was limited in training camp and a good portion of it to and he didn't play in the preseason at all clearly and then he he missed the first two weeks of the regular season. So it was a long off season for Carson Wentz of really not necessarily being able to hone his craft and work on it as much as he probably would have liked to and probably would have helped the eagles as much as he could have. So I think that's what ultimately comes down to. If that's my biggest takeaway from this report is that nothing is really changed in the grand scheme of things. He just he needs to play better. He I think he needs to mature both as a player and a person, and I think that could come with time. So I think there's reason to be optimistic about that. So I think it's just important to keep all this in perspective. And maybe this ends up being a blip on the radar alternately. Maybe we kind of look at back of this report and think nothing really came of that. And it really ultimately didn't matter because Carson wins found a way to get back on his game and played a super high level. Like we saw that he was capable of doing back during the two thousand seventeen season when he was almost the league's MVP and he had eagles in a really good position to set them up for that Super Bowl. They would eventually go on to win without him. So that's the hope and all this. The hope is that this isn't really a big issue. And that the, you know, the players, and the coaches, and they can all get on the same page and everything will work out to the point where it's not perfect. It's not going to be all roses and sunflowers. It's just unrealistic to think that environment exist really at all in especially in any team. But I think we've seen enough evidence in my opinion that this can work out alternately. I don't think it's to the point where Carson winces is such a cancer or he's that's a divisive figure in the locker room where this situation is untenable and eagles will never have any success in the future. I if that's your takeaway. I just think that's way too dramatic. And I think it's wrong. Now, again, I'm not trying to downplay this entirely and saying it's not any kind of issue, and it's all meet up because I I don't believe that. I believe it's more than a non issue..

"On Monday. January twenty first we still haven't heard from al-sham Jeffrey or Nelson, Azure, or really any of the current receivers on the team or any of the running backs on the team. So is that meaningful is not. I don't know. But I think that's something to maybe consider when you're looking at where this report could be coming from who's unhappy with Carson wins. And again, just something to think about so what does this all mean? Ultimately, is it a good thing? I think if you want to spend it that way could be could be that Carson Wentz sees this criticism from his teammates he realizes he could be doing something better. So that this kind of situation doesn't happen on the flip side it could just anger Carson Wentz. And he could feel like he doesn't trust his teammates. And then create some kind of riff from the locker rooms that would certainly not be a good thing. But in Joe's reporting on the Philly voice, it even said that some players, you know, again did want this to kinda get out in a way where I think maybe they felt like they couldn't talk to Carson Wentz directly, which is kind of sad and annoying. But maybe they were kind of afraid of the repercussions of it that if they did talk to him they would kind of see even less playing time or they would get cut or something. So that's not a good thing. But ultimately again, if you're being the optimist if. You're being hopeful about this. And and hoping for the best for both Carson Wentz. And the team in those two things certainly seem to be connected that Carson Wentz can learn from this criticism that's out there and hopefully apply it to the future. And again when I'm talking about that maturity and the composure and just you know, how he is perceived. I think maybe there is some kind of learning listen to be had here. If this information is true or not I think it kind of gives Carson an opportunity to self reflect and ask himself like is he doing the best he can to kind of, you know, be the best teammate and be the best quarterback and do everything he can does he need to yield some of his control in some certain certain situations. That's not to say, you should never be aggressive and to never speak up, and basically like Jared Goff and just have your coach, you know, call all the plays for you. And your kind of just through dummy nothing has to be to that extreme. But I think it can be where you know, there could be some better communication on both sides about what players, and what the coaches want, and what's expected and just more open, honest dialogue where both sides can kind of rectify things. And it doesn't have to come to a boiling point where it comes out in the media like you has clearly to this point. So that's the hope that's what you're hoping for in the situation. And maybe that's unrealistic. Because maybe Carson Lynch, you know, I think it's fair to say, we all know he is a strong personality. I don't know. It's completely fair to to use the words and kind of paint it out as wasn't this report. But it was so some people some sources clearly feel that way. And that's. How it is. So now, what does this mean for the eagles? What does this mean for the future? I think that's kind of what where my mind always goes to the what's the what's the bottom line here. What does this really impact? And to me, it doesn't take much because what changes all of a sudden like are the moving on from Carson Wentz where he talked about it. No, they're not does it make them hesitant to give him a contract extension this off season..

"I think all I did a good job of kind of breaking down the running different offense who had Nick foles. And I think that's something that gets talked about in this Philly voice report, how it was a different offense and some players some sources felt like I don't know if they're players, but some sources felt like offense was being run with through Nick foles as opposed to you know, Nichols. Having all this control over it. Like Carson Wentz had wanted to have control over it. Now, one of the things in that report that I thought was kind of unfair was about how it said every time Carson Wentz would have input there'd be an interception or a sack and every time. He just followed. What the coaches do it always worked out? I mean, that's kind of just that's a little pretty unfair to me that to say into suggest that like Carson Wentz was just the the bad guy, and the coaches were fine. And I don't know does that. Kind of give you. Perspective or information on who the sources could be. If it's saying the coaches, we're never to blame. I don't know just kind of thinking out loud here. It's a lot of this podcast is about just giving you some my thoughts on the situation. But obviously we've heard some rebuttal on this Carson Wentz. Scathing report that came out from some of his teammates, we saw Fletcher Cox immediately jump out to his defense. Now, I think it's a little interesting or it's no it's worth noting Frederick is in those offense of meetings. Sees he's a defensive captain. And he's a clearly one of the best players on the team. So I'm not saying is word means nothing here. I'm just saying you have to consider that. But then Bernie Brookes who is on the side of the ball, certainly came out and support, of course, when sodas Zakar it's so did lane Johnson so to Torrey Smith who's no longer on the team, but certainly in the wide receiver room last year sort of Nate Sud Velde who works in the same quarterback room. With Carson Wentz and shoot. Obviously have a good feel for him given the amount of time. They spend together and decent. Kelsey also gave a lengthy statement. Those are all up on bleeding greenish dot com. If you want to read them, so we're seeing players support. Carson Winston, look, it's obviously not like they're going to come out and say, you know, all the report is true in rip him like death never going to happen. So what makes it interesting to me? Then is an might be more telling is who hasn't spoken out and favor of Carson Wentz. And as I am recording this on three oh two pm.

"Anyway. And I'm not saying this report is necessarily being unfair in the sense that I think it is sourced. And I think Joe, you know, he he obviously did talk to these people with information. But I think how we perceive. This information can be taken a little bit out of context. And I think it can. Be extrapolated to to maybe give more weight to it than it actually deserves in the sense of. I don't think because this report comes out means that eagles are doomed at quarterback forever. And I think that's your takeaway. I just think that's a little too harsh. Now, I'm not saying it's not concerning at all. By just think there's always room for somewhere in between the the doomsday scenario and everything is fine. And I think that's kind of where the story lies lies in between. Everything is fine. And this is a real issue. It's somewhere in between those two things now. Something I've talked about a lot and something I think is the crux of this. Carson Wentz story considering seems to be a lot about his attitude and how he is perceived is character all those kind of things. And by the way, the report does say a lot of his teammates. A lot of sources feel like Carson wins is a very hard working intelligent all the kind of adjectives. We've heard about him and things we just know about him to be true based on the work ethic. We've seen those things are true. It's not like, you know, this report is saying that he's just the worst person in lazy. And no, that's not what this report is saying, you know, you have to actually read the report in and understand like for you know, as much as there is going to be Carson Wentz criticism in this report that also does give him credit in some areas and one thing getting that to are saying though about the crux of this being about Carson Wentz, his personality and. The way he's being perceived as that I just don't think Carson wins is necessarily mature as he could. Ideally be in. Now, I've talked about this before I mentioned this. I believe radio thirty one a couple of weeks ago. Maybe even as recently as the recent the last episode we did here where I and this is something I've been thinking about for a while now..

"Up the put up a hard fight against the saints. But ultimately, they fell short, and we all know the restrictions along the way in the two thousand eighteen season. So it's only natural that these kind of things are going to come out. I think that's something you have to consider. I don't think it's like, you know, the eagles are the only dysfunctional team in the NFL if you're framing it that way. It's just not the case also think that arson wins certainly isn't Hilmi quarterback in the NFL who's ever had a story. Like this written about them. I'm sure you can find already mentioned the Tom Brady thing. I'm sure you can find ones for Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers and number of quarterbacks in this league. I think you can always spin certain qualities as positive or negative. You could say Carson Wentz is a control freak he wants to control everything or you could say Carson Wentz. You know, has a strong ideas about what he wants to do and he wants to be involved. So it's all about how you frame things. And how you spin it as well. So I think it's always the point being there. Why I'm saying this is it's important to consider biases in perspective on both sides on all sides into knowledge. Those and to kinda, you know, just so we're we're being fair inaccurate all around so. Another thing. I wanna say coming out of all this is that none of this changes. Carson Wentz is standing in my opinion with the franchise. I mean Doug Peterson said it last week that he is the team's franchise quarterback. Just because report this comes out does not mean all of a sudden the user keeping Nick foles and getting ready Carson Wentz. That is not what's going to happen here. It's just not the if these issues in the story did exist do exist. I'm sure that you have to have some level of awareness about them. And I think they would know that before they would come out and say Carson Wentz is their franchise quarterback. So just wanted to say it, I don't think really anyone is doubting that. But in case, you are it doesn't really change anything in that perspective that arsons is this team funk term enter now. Because that very fact is true. I also think it's important to note that Carson Wentz not some bum. I I don't know why. I mean, I guess I do know why? And it's because. Nick foles has success. And Carson Wentz had some struggles. All the sudden Carson Wentz sucks. But I think people have been way too hard on Carson as a player. Let's leave the off the field stuff aside. Just for a second talking about Carson Wentz the player, and this is something I had talked about in BGN radio episode thirty two John Stolnis that I just feel like Carson went to gain too much hate, you know, you look at how he had a better passer rating then Jared Goff Tom Brady, both those bags are in the Super Bowl this year, by the way, Andrew luck Dak Prescott Aaron Rodgers two thousand eighteen among other players. And I'm not saying passer rating is the perfect stat. I think a big issue with it. In fact, wins is it doesn't account for fumbles which have been an issue for him. But the point is that you can't have a better passer rating than all those guys and be a complete bum. You just not how it works. I know Carson was not perfect in two thousand eighteen and you have to consider by the way, not only did he have. A better pass ratings than all those guys. But he was also doing it with a fracture in his back and coming off two major injuries in his knee with a tornado CEO and a tour Elsie. Oh, so I think it's just important to put all the context and now to be fair to Joe and his story from Philly voice. They knowledge all that. So they included that in there. But I just felt the need to reiterate it because I think people are a little bit two months down on Carson Wentz. And that's part of why the story from the Phillies is frustrating as an eagles fan as a went Carson Wentz supporter because it just feels like it's more ammo for the people who are kind of being a little bit unfair to him..

"Get a couple of things done on bleeding nation dot com. But no that was not the case. Instead, we all woke up to the bombshell of report that came out from Philly voice by Joe Santa Quito about how Carson Wentz is quote unquote, selfish uncompromising playing for Ritz. Among other unpleasant kind of adjectives described his way. And there's a lot to talk about. I know some people might not even want us to address this report. But when it's being talked about as much as it is. And it involves the team's franchise quarterback. I mean, we have to it's a really big story. It's a really big topic. Whether you want to believe it or not we can get into that more on this episode. It's a big deal, and I wanna start off here by saying that I know the author of the story I know Joseph into liquid. Oh, he is credentialed. Eagles media member. I've known him for several years now, I think about five or six so I've known him for quite a bit. Have we could idea of who Joe is and based on his track record base my experiences with him. And again, I sit next to him in the press box at Lincoln financial field. So I do interact with Joe is that he's not make. The story up. If you're out there thinking that all this is just complete fiction the media's making things up. It's all fabricated. None of it's true. I think you're mistaken. I I don't think you can easily write it off like that and say there is zero truth to what is being reported here in the Philly voice report. Now with that said that does not mean I'm saying that everything there is true. I think while I respect this report by Joe, I think some things might lack context. And I think there, you know, I think there could be a better way. Maybe presenting all the information from all sides in the story that otherwise kinda makes things a little bit harsh on Carson. But look ultimately Joe heard what he heard from his sources, which I believed to be very legitimate. And he pub he published what he heard in what he had. The information. He had gathered over time from talking to both sources on the team eagles players. I'm sure or or whoever his sources were inside the organization, I don't know and some sources from the NFL who were described as NFL sources, I'm assuming maybe not on the team. I don't know again. I'm just going off of what's in the story here. So we have a lot to talk about because this report is a big deal again. Even if you think it's nothing thing it's about Carson Wentz. We at least have to talk about it and give our thoughts on it. So I'm here to do that. And with the whole thing about, you know, knowing Joe at of the way, I think it's important to consider in. This report any reporting really sources are always going to have jenness. So when you hear a source say something about someone, and it's not always flattering, you know, they might have an extra grind. And that's understandable. When teams. In players are in situations where not everyone is having the most success. And there are some struggles you're going to see some cracks. It's just kind of inevitable. I mean, even teams that win a lot. They have struggles to with this. I mean, we just saw the New England Patriots. Last year have story written about them on ESPN one month before they played in the Super Bowl about how there was a lot of dysfunction in that organization and how Tom Brady and Bill Belichick weren't getting along. And there was arguing over who gets credit for what I mean. This is a high pressure business there high stakes. I know it's kind of silly. It's only sports, right? But you know, there's a lot of money, and there's a lot of pride and ego and all that stuff on the line here. So you're going to see these reports come out whenever there are struggles. And look the eagles struggled in two thousand eighteen they obviously they didn't win the Super Bowl. The they finished the season strong. They made it to the divisional round. And they give..

"I'll tell you one phone call. I did not get tonight. And I I've been very careful. Not I need to be very careful, but I have been very careful that at no point in by said once should have been benched way further earlier in the season at no point tonight. If I said, you know, we should just forget about Carson Wentz. Start thinking about a different direction. Now have you seen any of that? But I have suggested like many callers have brought up that he's just not himself because of his injuries. They haven't gotten tonight. That flat out. What are you not speak? Danny should be thrilled beyond belief that we have Carson Wentz. And I know I would have gotten that. Call. Even before the season started, even though he didn't play in the postseason. I know I would have gotten plenty of those calls. Where are where's where's the is defenders tonight? This sounds like I'm really ripping them. And I don't mean to be doing that. I really don't. But I'm also, right? When I tell you I have not gotten that phone call tonight. For mode really going. What are you not whence is the guy stop it already with this up? But I haven't got nickel. Do.

"I will tell you so that you're not telling during all night, but I'll tell you after we break out breakdown this fourth game here, which it is neither seems it's another team. It's not going to be a great break because I've got all the little mini helmets at front of me right now on my wall, what ballroom, and I'm just I'm looking through them trying to figure out the team in the back of my mind. So you do not have my full attention right now. I'm gonna figure this out before you tell us, but go ahead. We can try. We can see how it goes. Well, let's we're going. We're going colts at eagles here. The look the the headliners Carson Wentz versus Andrew luck. You know, winces is the guy who sort of played like Andrew luck last year in in in his MVP type run that ended a little bit early. So Wentz is back as we saw with the colts. Or excuse me, as we have seen with the colts luck this season is it's a lot more getting the ball out of his hand quicker. I, it's a lot shorter throws. Do you expect a similar approach when it comes to Wentz? Obviously, you know, it's a different injury. It's an ACL not a shoulder. He didn't miss an entire season like luscious did. But how cautious do you expect? The eagles would play it with Carson Wentz and today of the ability to sort of scale it back and be sort of a quick strike type of team here. I think it's the Houston Texans is it? The is very good. Very good. What was your question is not about the Texans. It's okay. How will they play with? I'm guessing how old they play with wins, and does it make sense for them with what they have in that offense? Can they go quick strike with with Wentz. Yeah, that's interesting because here's what's true about the offense, and that's banged up and a lot of spots for one and two is it might have the worst wide receiver situation in football, even worse than Dallas with Jeffrey out a Mike Wallace. Now on I r and MAC Hallet's thought would take a step this year. He's on. I are. They don't have any wide receivers anymore, and kamori can was out there last week and you had to remind yourself of that and he absolutely disappeared on film. So to Gibson, there's fifth round pick your who's your number three right now. It's Nelson Aggie lore in Zach, ertz and it's maybe Corey. Clement at the design is good enough. That's not a good offense. I mean, that's a bad passing attack. So you've got to win with your run game and you've got a highly scheme it. I don't know if you can go quick game with that, Gary. I don't know if those guys are good enough to win on the quick game. I think your best chances to throw out of running formations and hope that you can get some guys in a by some linebackers in a bind. I don't know what you do. They're they're so deficient right now. Fortunately, they're playing a team that's pretty deficient itself on defense. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, colts have held up so far through two weeks. That'll be interesting to see what the eagles can come up with the other side of the ball. As I just mentioned block, his been getting the ball out quicker. It's been a lot more shorter throws. We saw the eagles get torched down field by the bucks and Ryan Fitzpatrick DEA. Think the the colts might turn back the clock a little bit to two thousand sixteen and and trying to open up some things downfield here. That's an interesting question. I. Outta principle. I would say they should not because I think it's important that they commit to this new identity of more efficient, throwing the more efficient passing game with Andrew luck to preserve them in protect them and get him playing a little differently. But yet that would be tempting wouldn't because the eagles are aggressive safety in their corners have been a little bit up and down right now in the bucks, took care of their pass, rush to the buccaneers, kept bodies in protection in the eagles really didn't make a lot of noise with that for four..
