"This morning because French president Emmanuel Macron is heading for a second term after defeating nationalist leader marine le pen in yesterday's runoff Now Macron gets another 5 years to convince French voters his pro business pro Europe vision will work for them Let's get more now joining us live from Paris Bloomberg's Caroline kono Caroline good to have you with us this morning and look at the results beat le pen by a 17 point margin to this American size that looks like a landslide but we got kind of a somber victory speech from last night What's the takeaway There was a huge relief on the shonda mass at the feet of the Eiffel Tower last night where Emmanuel Macron considered his victory for this second Monday for another 5 years but clearly it was not the same loan slide victory that we had back in 2017 at the time he had one with 66% of the votes against that same national value leader marine le pen last night He only won with 58% of the votes So clearly the margin was not as wide meaning that there is a large proportion of the French who felt left behind who felt like he hasn't really dealt with their daily issues when it comes for example to energy inflation the issue of the cost of living or even their concerns about immigration or Europe So clearly this is something that Emmanuel Macron will have to address in his next mandate And there is a sense of responsibility here because last night he said I will address all the French including those who voted for me only to block mine in Japan and including those who are voted for the extreme I am comfortable for what happened because he knows that he will be held accountable if an anti establishment far left or far right candidate gets to power next time in 2027 And it sounds Karolina as though that sort of sets up where the next round of voting is going to happen in just a couple of months here with parliamentary elections How is now president Macron setting the stakes for the parliamentary vote that's coming up Just in a few weeks here This is what everybody calls the third round of these presidential elections meaning the parliamentary elections happening mid June in France because even though Macron got clear majority last time around 5 years ago it may be more difficult this time is a party republic on the move has performed poorly in previous local cities and regional elections over the past couple of years And clearly those who voted against him in this presidential election from the far right of the far left will clearly try and get to majority in order to prevent Emmanuel Macron from really doing the policies he wants to implement over this next 5 years For example Jean Luc melon showing this left candidate who came third in the first round with about 22% of the French votes actually said last night the third one starts tonight He called the French to vote for him In order to get a majority in parliament because if that happens that means Emmanuel Macron will be forced to choose a prime minister which is different from his party And that will actually make it very difficult for him to really govern So the politics continue in France Thanks for this Caroline good having you on with us Caroline Cohen on Bloomberg Paris correspondent joining us from Paris this morning Karen All right Nathan thank you It is 5.

"And what's next at about dot f b dot com slash regulations Whether Sports and the Mark Blazer Show on 6 10 W. T v N So there is research out of Penn State University, suggesting that they have a cure for the roadway safety. Now we know that, um, I guess according to this That the left turn a 61% of all traffic accidents at intersections involved. Someone making a left turn. So, um, according to this this out of Penn State University, they suggest one way to cure this. Is strategically eliminating left turns. So if you could eliminate the left turn permanently, would this then well, it would dramatically reduce Traffic accidents as they're saying, 61% right around there. Um, involve somebody making a left turn. So forcing drivers to make Three now, So when you start getting into this three, right turns I'm like, Okay, my brain small and I'm trying. I'm trying to figure out so you you would have to make three right turns To get them in the same place. They'd be if they were to try one left hand turn and I love you. I think it was your comment. When we talked about this earlier. You were like Yeah. Completely idiot idiocy or stupid or no, My point is, why are you making my life harder to placate idiots who don't know how to drive. I'm not going to make three right hand turns to get to the same place I can do quicker by doing a left hand turn And there's no way this will ever catch on. There's no way that we're going to start, you know, eliminate the left In five years, you're gonna wake up and there are no left hand turns. Here's the thing. So and then, you know, tell me if you think this is a Yeah, I don't know. Relatively normal thought process. I mean, you're going. Why do I have to help out somebody who's an idiot? Who Here's the thing. You could just be going by and doing your normal which you know what you're doing. I know what I'm doing on the road. There are a lot of people listening that know what they're doing. And then that person turning left ends up smashing into you. So now you're going, man. If I just made my life a little bit longer by going three, right? We wouldn't have had to deal with this dummy who could not time it out. I mean, how many times have you had somebody turned in front of you when they're turning left and you're on a Maybe a high speed street or road and they chances are if they do that, and you go. Oh, my gosh. What were they doing? You're like, Yeah, I'll you go by hitting your heart. Maybe they're a new driver, or what have you They don't know how to judge that timing. Or what have you? It is pretty scary. When you see some of that sometimes I You see it all the time on sawmill road. Yeah, it's a yellow light. It turns red you go to turn and then some buffoon goes flying through the intersection and almost get you I did not know. But cities like San Francisco Salt Lake City, Wilmington, Delaware. This is already being done. There are they? I guess they have all but eliminated left hand turns in those according to this, I haven't been to any of the I've never been to San Francisco or Salt Lake City or Wilmington. Never been there. They're saying it's unlikely a national movements going to actually happen for this to, you know to make it happen everywhere. They're not driving fancy sports cars, and they don't worry about keeping up with the Joneses. They're just good, hardworking people who spent the last few decades quietly building a retirement portfolio. I call them middle.

"And the Mark Blazer Show on 6 10. W T V N. All right. Thanks for listening and former. Oh, is she running back and part of her best Buckeye coverage. Jeff Logan in studio with us, Of course, Bucks line coming up here at the top of the hour, six o'clock, It's Matt McCoy and coach Bill Conley will join Jeff and they'll break down and take us up to game time tonight. The Buckeyes, of course in the national championship, So Joshua, you asked the question, and we wanted to wait through the break to get the answer so quickly set up your question again. Just we We know that Coach Tressel won a national title in his second year. Urban didn't even do that with the team he had. And here you have Ryan Day in just his 25th game as a head coach going against arguably the greatest college football coach of all time. What would that say about Ryan Day? If in just 25 games he can take down the giant That is Nick Saban in Alabama. You know, it's remarkable. The meteoric rise of Ryan Day as a head football coach in college football. This is his very first ever head coaching job. Now that gives you some idea, Josh Of what condition the program was in when he took it over. So there is the point. Very good point. You know, in most coaches when they're coming in, are not coming into a situation that is not broken. And Ryan Day came into a program that was clearly not broken. I mean, urban left on his own terms, medical terms, but he needed to move on. And, you know, I guess to really put it in context. Look at some other high profile guys in a bit out there that have had experience and Ryan's had none as I head football coach. Take Jim Harbaugh's an example. Oh, my God! Compare what Ryan Day's about to do with where Jim Harbaugh is today. Right, Tom Herman. Oh, my goodness. Tom Herman goes to Texas, and he got his rear end handed to him last week. He's going to be looking for a job, Ryan Day, I think really likes it here. And Ryan Day could go anywhere he wanted to after this season, win or lose tonight go anywhere that he wants to if the professional level with those open jobs Now. Is there another college job that Ryan Day would want? Are you kidding me? There's not a better job in college football right now than what he has right here. But there's more money for him because he's making just shy of six million. Well, right. He had to prove it. He had to prove it, and they couldn't give you urban Meyer money. Right well with Western Michigan standards. If this was Michigan standards, hardball gets an extension for what he's done. That's what I was just given Ryan Day, a lifetime contract at 25 year, and that's what I was gonna ask you, Jeff, your thoughts on the re up there. I mean, a zoo. Buckeye fair. We're all like good giving more. More more. Give me more years. Only to what did you get two years. But can we give him a 10 year? Come on. It's really structured over five or six year period of time, but the buyout starts it only like five million. Goes down to one million real quickly, right? So they've got an exit strategy in place. If he doesn't get it going, they've got Michigan. The way to be able to get out of it is that he already not have gotten it going, so I just think if they had a if they had an obvious direction Where they would want to go. They would have pulled the plug. Right, but but I don't know. Great point. Actually, I don't know who else is out there? Yeah, yeah, other than finding they gotta go. They would have to go find there. Ryan Day, right And, well, that's what Jim Harbaugh was supposed to be. Though He was supposed to be their urban Meyer there Ryan day, their necks saving well, there's a difference between being their urban Meyer that has a track record. And Ryan Day. Who doesn't that has the ability to transform this team into a national championship contender? And so it's remarkable what he's been able to do it, But I think urban deserves a lot of credit. I want you to remember all the way back 1978 Earl Bruce takes over 1979 Earl Bruce takes over for Woody Hayes. After he got fired Very first season. They play the last game of the year in the Rose Bowl undefeated chance to win the national championship. Earl Bruce, and his very first year they lose that game 19 to 16 or something like that. And he doesn't win a national championship in his very first year is the head football coach at Ohio State. Ryan Days got a chance to set a absolute standard. That is unbelievable. This is gonna be she's gonna be good Pause one second year, ABC six first Warning, Weather and forecaster Caroline Cohen. He's joining us now. So we're gonna have some sunshine. The next few days, we're gonna have some warm temperatures not quite break.
