"It depends. There is a doctor further down the line that may get mentioned. Fair point, fair point. Right, well, I'll move on to my first choice. So again, I said I was going to pick a different discipline for the doctor or health professional, nurse, whatever. So I'm going to go to the world of Marvel comics, which we've already kind of talked about already. And I am going to mention the Hulk as well, surprise, surprise. I'm going with Dr. Carla Sophon, who is Moonstone and she's from the Thunderbolts comic books, among others. And she's a psychiatrist. So she was a child of a butler and a maid who lived in a Hollywood mansion run by this big producer and she befriended this young girl. She didn't particularly like the young girl, but she enjoyed the trappings of wealth and everything. So she manipulated the little girl into thinking she was her friend. And then the father, the butler died and the maid lost her job. So her mum lost her job. Her dad had died, mum lost her job. And then her mum was working like three or four jobs just to put Carla through university, through college. And she said, I am never ever going to be like my mum. I'm never going to put somebody else's needs before my own. So instantly she just said, I'm going to be a psychiatrist. So she wanted to help people. Of course not, no. She wanted to manipulate them and use them. And sooner rather than later, she was like, yeah, I don't like this. I don't like my patients. So she became really resentful of them. And the fact that her monetary income was based on helping people, she hated this. So she started manipulating them, causing them to harm themselves or would make phone calls to their cheating husbands or make the jealous wife anxiety ridden. And then they'd come back for more sessions. But at her lowest, she would actually make her patients kill themselves in front of her to get her jollies. Not a good psychiatrist, really. So she found employment soon after because again, psychiatry wasn't really working out for her. She was hired by a criminal called Dr. Faustus, who is a villain of Captain America, and he does the same thing. So he tries to cause superheroes to kill themselves. So she was like his apprentice. He unfortunately got captured when Captain America defeated him. Now, at this point, she's on her own. She's a criminal. She's a wanted woman. She finds another former Captain America villain who'd been locked up and she becomes his psychiatrist. Now, he's a character called Moonstone, the original first Moonstone. I think he's called Lloyd Brock or something. And what she does is she convinces him to reject the source of his power, which is the Moonstone, which is this ancient Kree kind of alien technology. He goes absolutely insane. She calls him to go insane, rejects this stone, and then she absorbs it into herself. And it gives her powers not unlike Captain Marvel or Ms. Marvel Carol Danvers. So she can fly. She has super strength, reflexes, speed, stamina, all the good stuff. She can shoot lasers, blinding flashes. She can fly. She can heal, all the great stuff. And she uses this to single-handedly take on the Hulk herself. Not long after that, she was recruited into the Masters of Evil by Baron Zemo, and she is a master manipulator of a character. She's always using people like chess pieces. What can she get out of any given situation? What can she do to be on top or to undermine Zemo or to find the crux of the situation where she'll have the most power in any given situation? She'll use a body. She'll use sex. She'll use her looks. Even without these incredible powers, these, again, can take on the Hulk and give the Hulk a run for his money. She is still top-level intellect. And again, she did portray Zemo, big surprise, but Zemo again hired her. Didn't learn his lesson, old Zemo. He hired her again to impersonate new heroes after the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, not the X-Men, no, just the Fantastic Four and the Avengers had died and the Hulk had disappeared partially, to pretend to be heroes and to steal information from SHIELD and use it to take over the world. But halfway through this, all these villains who were pretending to be heroes kind of liked being heroes, so they betrayed Zemo and then they were on the run. And Carla Sophon never really kind of became a nice person, but she did soften a little bit, so she became a little bit nicer as time went on. But there was a particular fight that they had with Graviton, who is a character who can control gravity, so one of the fundamental forces of the universe, and they were losing because he is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel universe. And what she did is she psychoanalyzed him into giving up and running away. So even though they have an incredible power level as a team, they couldn't beat him. It only took Carla to say a few words about him not being driven or not having any idea of who he was or what he could do, his potential that he had. And he's like, yeah, you know what, you're right. I'm going to go find myself. And then he just flew away, and they win. So that is Carla Sophon Moonstone from Marvel Comics, one of my favourite characters, great character just to read and to hear her in her dialogue and stuff, wonderful. I'm not sure how familiar you are with her, Maf. I am aware of her. As soon as you mention her, she's got the red and black suit with the... She's very similar to the Miss Marvel kind of look. Yeah, she actually was, for a while, she was Miss Marvel. So she took over as Miss Marvel during Dark Rain. The Dark Avengers, yeah. Yes, absolutely, Dark Avengers. Bullseye. Yeah, Bullseye was Hawkeye.

"So playing a fangirl of Captain Marvel with Captain Marvel. And so Carol having to interact with that, I think is going to be hilarious. Now, does it feel like a bit like they have the original Captain Marvel with Rick Jones with the switching? Because they do do the transposition. Yeah, I was going, hey, that's Captain Marvel and Rick Jones. Because whenever Captain Marvel had these... Nega bands. Nega bands. And when he clicked them, he would change into Rick Jones and he'd go to another dimension. One of them was kept in, no, it's in the negative zone. Negative zone, yes. They'd go to the negative zone. And then when Rick Jones summoned up Captain Marvel, he'd go to the negative zone. So they changed place. And in the trailer, you sort of get that idea. It was basically Marvel's way of doing the whole Billy Batson, Captain Marvel thing. But one of the things that they kind of established, because they changed Kamala Khan quite a bit for the TV show and that. And so the thought is, as she has this bangle that unlocked her powers, and it's known that there is a second one out there, it's that somehow she has one of the Nega bands. And it's believed that... Because she's supposed to originally have got it from the Inhumans thing. In the comics, yes, she's an Inhuman. So there is a lot of speculation that part of the plot in the Marvels will be having to find the second Nega band in order to stabilize the situation where all three of them are swapping places and everything like that. And it is going to be, I think, interesting as a secondary dynamic. You have Kamala Khan, who is this massive Captain Marvel fangirl. And you have Monica Rambeau, who grew up idolizing Carol Danvers until Carol vanished off into space and abandoned her and her mom. And so every indication is that there's going to be resentment there that will be playing out over the course of the film. So you have two very different dynamics between... I'm only going to chance, like I said. The trailer does make it look like it would be a fun movie. It has lousy space physics. Absolutely, but no worse than any other production really. Has anyone seen the trailers for the Secret Wars? Yes. Oh yeah, looking forward to that. I mean, it's Samuel L. Jackson. I could pretty much watch Samuel L. Jackson read a phone book. Yeah, pretty much, yeah. So no, it's interesting because the skulls that they introduced from, because it's introduced from the first Captain Marvel, are the whole thing. It's like, I'm looking forward to this, see how they do it. Now, again though, from a fanboy, yes, I want to see more people in the movies. I understand logistically you can't do that. Like in the comics, it's easy enough to draw. We want a superhero team. We can put everyone in there. Oh, I miss George Perez. Because we can just draw in all the people, you know? And animated, same thing. You just draw them in, because it's the parent company that owns all the rights. Draw them in. Movies, oh shit. Okay, so we have to pay Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, blah, blah, blah. Okay, we can't afford this. Yeah. One of the things I'm actually having difficulty building up any enthusiasm for. The galaxy? Yeah, currency of the galaxy, volume three. I'm sort of interested, but... I'm anxious for it because it's introducing Adam Warlock, but man, he should have been involved in that whole Thanos thing. Well, okay, again, this goes to, have anyone seen the second Wakanda, Black Panther Wakanda? Oh yeah, I liked it. I liked it a lot. Yeah, but it's also like, it's same as the Eternals, a lot of trying to retro-explain why they weren't involved with Infinity War in the endgame. It's like, we did want to get involved with the water world. Or the man, you know, it's the entire fucking universe. The Eternals, we don't get involved in this. It's the entire fucking universe, not one planet. Half of you should have disappeared, and that should have sent some chills. That's an essential thing, is like, half of you guys are gone, and you're like, oh shit, what the fuck just happened? Well, I mean, they did a decent enough job with the Eternals of explaining it. I mean, as long as the, you know, as long as the celestial that they were, you know, egg-sitting, basically, was okay, they wouldn't care. But again, half the Eternals should have gone. And half the Celestials should have gone.

"So basically... I mean, granted, his visor, he's allowed to... He can control the intensity, I get that, but... He could alter the height of the beam. Yeah. Lower height, less force. But it also acted almost like polarization effect. So the crystals could rotate and on certain settings, less force than on certain other settings. And so they... This is how they explained that he could do anything from, you know, knocking a guy across a room to punching a hole in a Sherman battle tank. Yeah. That sort of thing. Whatever. So... But yes. I mean, just relax your mind. Just look at the Hulk, though, who can lift up battleships. So if he's actually punching someone, they're a smear. They really should be, yes. Well, my favorite example of the depiction of force being completely inaccurate. There was a movie back in... I think it was like the early 90s called Small Soldiers. Yes. Yes. Sorry, I might be getting Toy Soldiers. Toy Soldiers, yeah. Where it was based at a boarding school. A whole bunch of rich kids end up getting taken hostage. Tom Cruise. Pardon? Tom Cruise is in that... Is he? No. Oh, no, I'm thinking... You're thinking Taps. I'm thinking Taps. Sorry, yes, sorry. But anyways, I think Wil Wheaton's in it. Wil Wheaton's in that one, yes. So, you know, it's a typical diehard type scenario where the kids are scurrying through the school trying to thwart the bad guys. Although, you know, it's a little grittier than most. One or two of the kids do actually die horrible deaths on that. But at one point, the decision was made to storm the place. And so, you know, the school is this fairly ornate type thing. It has a bell tower. The bad guys have a sniper up in the bell tower. Well, from below the tree line pops up an AH-61 Apache helicopter, which then shoots the sniper out of the bell tower with the main chain gun. He's a paste. He's... No, he's not paste. He just gets knocked out of the bell tower and, you know, falls down. I'm sure the stuntman, you know, did a pretty good job of doing a high fall. But, yes, he should have been a red mist. This is a 30mm chain gun. Because, yeah, in TAPS, they actually have it where the .50 cal opens up. And it goes through the building, through people, because it's a .50 cal. Yeah, you know, so... So, I haven't seen TAPS. This remains my favorite example of completely unrealistic use of force in a film. Day in the Jackal with Ruth Willis. He's got a 20mm gun, right, so it's a 20mm one. It's blowing up a car. His target... He's spending... How they get to him is he's spending time to aim precisely on the chest. Dude, dude, it's not a 22. It's a 20mm. You just hit the fucking... Anywhere. Anywhere. A glancing blow will kill you. Yeah, it's like, you hit here. The arm is gone. Like, it's... And so is half your torso. And the sudden shock alone will kill you. Well, that's just it. But it's just so funny because he's, like, aiming so precisely with, like, a pointer. Like, this ball of thought trying to get right to the heart is like, dude, dude, it's a 20mm... Yeah. Canon. Anyways, we are getting away from, you know... Well, no, we're talking about news and rumors. So we're reminiscing and talking about old movies. Well, I had the one of... I could have typed in Mark Forbeck, which got on to Marvel, which got on... Yeah, so it does sound like an interesting interview. I'm going to do it, yeah. I'm looking forward to it because I was trying to get a hold of the playtest of it. And he's like, nah, you'll have to talk to the main company, which is... Disney. Right, so yeah, we're never going to get a copy of that. We need a slightly higher profile. But I'm looking forward to, like... So, you know, I'm hoping to have a good interview with them and then put it back up. We'll see how it goes. There's a bunch of stuff that we've tried to put on our Facebook page, but not too much. Duane, do you have anything for... Um, well, they released the D23 footage for the Marbles. Oh, yes, yes. The movie that's been in... It's getting panned across YouTube, even though it looks like it'll be really fun. Well, it's also just been in production, not production, or post-production hell for years. Well, it's not so much a post-production hell. It's just that they keep changing the release date, to my knowledge. You know, they haven't actually made any changes to the film in months. I think it's been forced back four times, I think. Something like that, yeah. They keep changing their mind. I think part of it is that the change in streaming strategy impacted where they want to... Well, also that with the whole Black Widow thing, where... Because they released it in theaters all at the same time as streaming. And Scarlett Johansson's like, wait, you guys screwed me over because in my contract I get a percentage of the theaters. So, you know, and nothing against Brie Larson. But Captain Marvel, or sorry, her character is, like, not the best developed. Like, this is more, I feel like, the writing and the directing for the thing. Like, she's an interesting character. Like, in the comics, she's really interesting. Yeah, but it's more about her life as Ms. Marvel than it is about Carol Danvers. That makes her interesting, right? It's what happens to her after she gets her powers that make her interesting. Yeah, so the thing is, is that Amnesia is actually a running theme in Ms. Marvel. For Carol Danvers, it's happened several times to her. Well, even when it started, in her... I have Marvel Unlimited, and I've actually gone back and I've read the old Chris Claremont Ms. Marvel stuff from the 70s, which was her first solo title. When she started out, she had no idea she was Ms. Marvel. Every time she transformed, she lost her memory. Right. And then Claremont did the whole rogue thing. Which worked, it was great. You know, and so again, lost her memory. Kelly Sue DeConnick... Well, lost her identity. Lost her identity, yeah. Kelly Sue DeConnick, in her run, had one of the bad guys basically give her brain damage. And again, she lost all of her memory. She got them back as factoids, similar to with the whole rogue thing, but she lost all of her emotional connection to her former life. They ran with that sort of thing for Captain Marvel. I'm just not entirely sure it was the best choice, because it didn't really give us a chance to get to know Carol Danvers as a character, because she's too busy trying to figure herself out. Also, there was very little emotional connection. For me, it was sort of like, okay, I'm not really sure who she is. I don't feel an emotional connection. And then it's like, I got my memories back. Okay, I didn't see a change in you from before to after. Other than you just don't trust the people who were supporting you before. Don't get me wrong, I remember Monica Lambeau, because I read those Avengers comics with Captain Marvel, who had the light powers and everything. And so I understand that. I remember Captain Carol Danvers with binary when the brood took her and messed around with her. Once again, Chris Claremont. Yeah, because I'd love to see the brood in an X-Men movie. I think in a way, Carol Danvers is kind of like the textbook definition of how writers like to torture their favorite characters. By all accounts, Claremont, who, while he didn't create her, was the first one to write her solo, really, and that loves the character completely, put her through the wringer over the course of 20 years over and over again. It works, right? Because she's very high powered, right? So you need to have some sort of thing for the audience to go, I care about this person, right? Because that's an issue that Patrick and I have had with Superman for the longest time. Because in the 70s, Yawn, he does this. Why does he need the Justice League? Yeah, why does he need anything? Because there's no connection. You don't feel like, I care about this person. Well, it's not that I don't care about him. There's never any real threat to him. Hey, it's like Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel in a character. But anyways, I do think that the character actually got to show more personality in the rather short period of time she was in Infinity War, or sorry, not Infinity War, Endgame, than she did in her own movie. Yes, exactly, which is weird because she's almost never in, she's in a bit of a front where the way she plays off of the rest of the Avengers is fantastic. The whole thing with Thor summoning the axe and it goes straight by her head doesn't even flinch. And Thor's like, I like this one. There was some great stuff there. And it's one reason why I'm really looking forward to the marbles because I think she's going to have an awful lot more chance to show who Carol Danvers is as a character and through a very interesting lens. Because I saw Ms. Marvel, a Disney Plus show, watched all of it. I've re-watched parts of it. I think Iman Vellani is fantastic. I think that for a superhero coming of age story, it's a great example of the genre and that. And so you're going to have Iman Vellani who is a fangirl of her own character. You can find pictures of her dressed up as Ms. Marvel years before she got the role.

"It's weird to me that she didn't look for one where the vision was. It's true. That was weird. Because where will the when will the vision pop back up because he was on the vision? That's right. And makes it out in a form. In a form with his memories, they are not his own memories, but they have been superimposed. There was a mind mail. There was a volcano. There was a Vulcan mind meld. Which gave him the memories of their lives together. That's right. Which is why he bolted. Right, right. So the remade vision is somewhere out there in the MCU as well. Again, I feel like these are one of just like, these are just, hey, here's a little something that's going on out there. If somebody wants to make a story about that, then let's do it. Attainable goal. Yep. And so now what's left is miss marvel. We are only two episodes in. Yes. Next episode is Wednesday? Great. And looking forward to it? Yep, very much so. The casting is amazing of her parents. Casting is great. The first, the first episode was a little hard for me to watch because I. Mean, people making poor decisions is hard for me to watch when she's a teenager, so she gets to make poor decisions because teenagers do. It's still a little hard for me to watch. I'm not going to spoil it by a second episode, I'm absolutely on board. They cover so much ground in the second episode. And it just, it's just great. And now she has the power. And we don't know if Brie Larson's going to make it. Because her superhero crush is Captain Marvel. And so we don't know if Brie Larson's going to make a cameo in this thing. And in the comics, she does. She does. Yeah, the Carol danvers Captain Marvel does come and give her some pointers. And help her sort of find her own because in the comic books, one of the things she could do was shape shift and she turned herself into a blond girl. That's right. And she was like, 'cause there are no Brown superheroes. Right. And captain Carol Edwards shows up and she's like, no, no, you get to be with you. And you get to be the superhero you get to be. Yeah. So that's one of the interesting things. So without any spoilers, the superpowers that she gets in the MCU are very different from the superpowers that she gets in the comics. She can sort of use them in the same way, but they are different. And so that'll be interesting to see how that plays out. Also, where she gets the powers is different in the MCU. In the Marvel Comics, she definitely got them from the inhuman way. She was in India but yeah, she got him from the territory in miscarriage and missed. There we go. There was a cloud of church and mist, and humans released on the world. And some people got powers and she had some people glad and some people died. And she happened to be one of the people who got powers..

"Campion movie. He was very good. So but i would not make a kids for his over across the board and he does not in fact. Turn up in this movie. It is just wong taking the back to doctor strange. Hq where bruce banner and carol danvers. Captain marvel or kind of. I dunno space zooming in or something. They're holographic louis president. This conference where they're kind of doing a little sort of molecular analysis of the ten rings or something. There's a very brief reference at the beginning of the movie to knows where when we found the ten rings send people say it was in a crater and then that kind of gets forgotten for two hours and then they do this kind of thing where they zoom zoom zoom like in on the ten rings down at the molecular level. And there's something pulsing and they say it's a beacon. We don't know for what i think. The implication is you know like space oriented somehow but We will have to tune in next time to find out what that is. Yeah i will say the post credit scene resonated with me. Because i have seen avengers and this was the first time. We're seeing bruce banner again and he is inexplicably not the hulk anymore because he was supposed to stay in hoc mode so that was slightly intriguing to see him again in a human form and it is sort of exciting to know. He'll be back soon enough. Not shocking but exciting likely in. What's next she hulk for him. And then the marvez shield tv series. Yep yeah on disney color. Tv series is before the next right. There's also part of that post credit. Scene is sean. She in katya call back to earlier in the film where they do karaoke either. Like yeah we can start on all the superheroes stuff now or master and you wanna come. Join us for Karaoke so they all they all go to carry okay and it's actually quite fun. Sweet this done. There's a second and final post credits scene. We got have a real post credit scene so i always sit through the credits for marvel movies. Even though i'm acting like i'm a bad marvel fan like i still am fan like i pick and choose. I'm not interested in doctor strange. I'm not really interested in iron man. One day i will watch his movies. But i am interested in the overarching storyline. So i sat through the rest of the credits. Very long credits. And then the final moment is we cut back to schelling. Who as we mentioned is dismantling the compound her father's compound but she's kind of looking through her old room. You see that she has if not fond memories memories. You now she is. It's hard to throw out every piece of your childhood. So she's sort of wavering. And going through her her memorabilia and then someone calls her out to the main courtyard and instead of saying hey. We're going to go now by this is were. We don't work here anymore. There's a ton of people fighting in the courtyard training and the suggestion. The implication is that she didn't get rid of the ten rings. She has taken over her father's compound she is now taking over as his theoretical his hypothetical thrown and now she's in charge so whether it's that she is re invigorated her fight club which got destroyed in the battle with the.

"What the hell close. Yeah but other than that. The low-key finale of asli was. It's been interesting. I've read so many reactions. That people who did not like loki and the low-key finale and a lot of people who really don't like silky. The ship have talk for one second and just clap. Clap for you because you totally last week were correct. Okay wait low key. Spoilers in three two one it was definitely kang the conqueror yes but you know what was interesting about that was. It wasn't king the conquer as we know him. It was like a muted kind of a nice came. The conqueror is it was only one version enough has right but now they've only all the version and so we knew how it was going to end. Because we knew that the multi-diverse had to come to fruition. So like that to me. I guess when people didn't like the ending. I'm like how did you think it was gonna end. I like doctor. Strange in the multi of madness has already been announced. Obviously at some point. There needs to be a multi verse of madness introduce. Yeah i was really really sad though when moebius didn't know who he was my heart for more i'm far more invested in the moebius and loki friendship than i am in any other sort of relationship in that show. I definitely ship key and silvy when they kissed. I scored like a schoolgirl. But we've already established that. Sean likes kissing so i was doing. Who is now like pushing them together now so i was here for it but i did feel like there was a lot of dialogue. Yeah it was exposition. Heavy which. I think though you either get that in the beginning or you get that at the end. You're going to have to come at some point too. Because we know that these shows are functioning to set up the rest of this universe so that expositions going to have to come somehow me like i feel like i had to like sit down like watch it like. He figures it out really quicker than he automatically goes through millions and millions of computations in his head to figure out what the best avenue to victory is so starting at the certain point once he realizes martian manhunter big strong fast could fly do all manner of different things. He's going to put that through his enormous twelve foot tall head and he's going to be able to discern an avenue to victory very very quickly. You know i'm not gonna say. The marshall man is not a smart character. he's of course a smart character but nobody's as smart as modi. he really should be top three if not top one. Smartest humans in the entire marvel universe. Reed richards doctor. Doom and non enhance people. So but that's fine. It should be mo- doc. Because he sees all the moves now he also has force fields that he can put up and he can put up force field in front of force field in front of horsfield and he's done this to the point where he's been able to take full on a tax from iron man. He's been able to get hit by the hulk. Pretty strong character. I would say and he's been able to take these shots and not be too worse for wear afterwards if at all so you have very very powerful force fields. Not just that. He could shoot mental blasts with the speed of thought. Captain america is not fast enough to dodge mode. Occidental blast there he says i could see bullets whizzing through the air but i cannot get out of the way of these mental blasts there too fast. In fact ironman himself built into his ironman. Soup has certain protocols in place that allow him to dodge within microseconds of attacks coming in on him automatically with a suit does the dodging for him. An iron man with that technology doesn't always get out of the way because they're coming so fast and so furious and they're also coming with power. These mental blasts have put down with one or two shots the following characters iron man. Of course the red hulk of mentioned brought him down. Ms marvel carol danvers. Let's face it captain. Marvel is one of the strongest characters in all of marvel. At least the mcu right now and two shots he was able to turn ms marvel around and sent her. Whatever you know they just got put together randomly like there was real substance there. My do want to mention before we forget that. That flashback scene did reveal a ton of her as a kid revealing that at least her and you can probably assume piatra had their powers before they interacted with the mind stone so by definition she would be a mutant which would be the first time that we've seen a mutant in mcu. That is another theory that you are very excited about. I mean yeah. I've i wanted all the mutants to show up. They not be so that was interesting to to see like how all that came about. And then i also really enjoy just learning more about monica. Because i think we're gonna see a lot of her moving forward. I will monica so taking a character like monica. Who had you know up to this point a very minor role in mcu. I mean all we knew about her is that she was the daughter of maria. Maria was an m maria rambo. So just knowing now that that's going to be able to play out and we got to see the evolution of how she got her abilities powers. Whatever you wanna call him. I think recall her tom. Where carol danvers can literal- it's like a multiple personality thing except i know that that is a actual mental disorder. That is that does not function this way. But it's like there's an alternate psyche of carole. Danvers that can take over rogue's body to the point that the ladies around her are straight up calling her carol once carol. Danvers has taken over right. So it's not it has no connection to the actual miss merval the actual carol denver's who is out in the world like she is she falls asleep and then is in rogue's body right. Yeah i meant her. Brain is in herb person. Hood essentially is inside rogue. She's very it. Carol denver's personalities leaking into like rugs decorating choices. She wakes up and finds her house decorated in a way.
