"Then what are some of the benefits. I mean let's talk a little bit about the ability you can get your heart rate pretty high right which you can't do in the pool If you want you know for thinking of traffic sports but Heart rate high low impact whether what other things to cycling kept going for it. Yeah you know. It's actually funny when those with was saying that it reminded me back in twenty ten. I think i took a year off triathlon. And i just did marathons and the coach that i was working with at the time was a marathoner and he had me doing a ton of biking not too much not too long but frequency over duration and intensity over Some other stuff so a lot of the big ring work and a lot of the short like vio to lake minute thirty minute and a half anything under two minutes. Kind of all out is what. I was doing to kind of supplement the running because marathon runners usually run so much during the week and i just don't respond well to it s. Most people don't respond well to them many miles so just the off the legs but also having some intensity and having some kind of you know. The circular motion of the running and cycling sometimes complement each other really. Well yeah. yeah. I mean people who have paid attention for the run of run like a mother. Another runner no that. I basically trained for the nike women's marathon on my bike and got a fracture Gosh early on in the training. And i was not. I was not given up that marathon. Come hell or high water. I was going to it with my one in three year old. I was like san francisco. Boston going and my coach at the time. Who was it. Carmichael training systems was like okay. We're hitting the bike and holy cow. I worked so freaking hard on that bike but it you know and my longest run i think was like sixteen miles and certainly i wasn't absolutely one hundred percent prepared for that marathon but but it can get you a really nice part of the way especially like you said if you're injury-prone or don't do well with a lot of high

"Guys, top of the sport and then. Jeff is forty seven years old. And he was, he was ninth or tenth you. He was in that top ten, and there were three guys racing three or four guys racing in that chasing each other, but but his last thirty eight miles worth the fastest of all those top ten people by by a long shot, and that's kind of. That's kind of telling about what we were talking about earlier like how you're going to be able to perform in the backup your race. How do you produce the most amount of energy? All have the demand for the energy able to ask for it to be produced. Without that fatigue it's. And that's. That's where you know. That's where manager one loss right. It's the last person to slow down wins most of the time. Yeah most of the time I. Mean You look at Hawaii on, I mean really. The winner has a great day. And pretty much everyone else has like a just slightly off their best. You rarely see a rice in Hawaii with his with his. Five guys that have all come out. That would across the finish line and say well I perfect race I was able to push to the end. Yeah Yeah. Like like like the Mark Allen What was it the mark? Mark Allen and what with? Dave Scott dual in the sad thing. Is kind of funny because I actually was going to school university Davis when Dave Scott was living there. And A friend of mine used to be his next door neighbor and they used to go out for runs together is. A love the dive scotties now so behind the benefits of low Cobb on that. You know he's really. On the end of the scale, well Hayes promoting how good it is now it's great. Yeah, yeah, it's good great to hear. This is like like in these times. I really admire people like Dave. Scott and Tim noakes because. You know they're not. They're SORTA like the political leaders of this movement. Because they're late, they're late comers, but but to have the balls to say hey. I was wrong about this. We need to make a change. We need more leaders who have that kind of skill set to say? Hey, ways that maybe I overshot this yet you know and understand that they are going to polarize people and I know things that I save polarized people but I mean. God in Dave Scott's position to be polarizing people who you know, the majority of the triathlon community still believe that cobs. especially the high profile people most of the relates will still say no I need carbohydrates to perform well like an I needs eight a lot of them. He's going against the grain of his entire community. Or the majority of the community. And using table, so it's fantastic. Yeah, it is, and it's kind of sad because what you just said it's like. It's frustrating because you know you talk about polarizing. I've polarized a lot of people because I started talking about this from two thousand and you know and I've been blasted by Jason Coop. Who Works for Carmichael? Training Systems and you know Louise Berk and. Chris I mean it's just like when I was really getting my starting to really get this. Going because I didn't know. I didn't know that you weren't supposed to do this. And you know. In two thousand six Louise Burke was saying we got put the nail on the coffin about this fat stuff. This is ridiculous and Chris Carmichael were saying. It's about the cards and they still do right. And You have to give you have to. I don't know it's one of these things where..

"Now our hosts, Jason, thanks for having foolishly Senate an Email, inviting us to Albuquerque, like a good idea, but welcomed Albuquerque. Glad you guys could make. Do you always have such? Well, garnished cocktails on did this for me on her own. There's raspberries and blueberries in there. I didn't even know we had those. So she's hired. I didn't. We knew Ramlet Bill and actually, I don't know if you know this, Jason did lead man, which is the ride there on. There's like five or six, right? Ranked components did all of those which is. Strange and the distance on those for those who don't know. It starts at the marathon that Lance did goes to a fifty mile. Run fifty mile bike, then the hundred mile hundred mile bike hundred mile run ten k and there's in the ten ks the day. The hundred mile route my next morning ADM right. Right. Right. Right. Which was the worst experience for you? The run is the worst around nothing compares to run to starting at four in the morning, watching the sunrise running all day, watching the sunset running all night and watching the sunrise that is in in for those. No, you the altitude that you're hitting on this. It's those events is not the same courses the ride, so but in delta toot starts starts starts at ten up to twelve three couple times something like, geez, it's up there in the marathon. Which does you just said I did five or six weeks ago with this lunatic. Eric Byrnes turns around mosquito pass, which is thirteen one, right? You did awesome. In this. I think the kind of Pitta Mayes that the we do crowd. What motivates you to do this crazy stuff? Well, Leadville was this weird passion started by my mom, I, I was ten years old. I broke my arm one day before summer vacation, and my mom went to the library and got me these magazines. That's when you could get magazines at the local library. And there was a picture in one of them of the backside hope pass and they just started doing Leadville and I just remember that picture and quote from Ken clover, the race director better than you think you are. You can do more than you think you can. And I, I ran downstairs and said, mom, I'm gonna do this someday and she's she laughed and but it became this passion that someday I was going to do. It turned out I was a real crappy runner. So it was it was it was a great passion with little ability to follow it up, but and then I made this commitment to do it. And right before she passed, she was seven tries in and she said, you gotta do it. You gotta. Do it. And I said, mama promise, I will. And, and last year I did and you know it worked out. Thanks to my wife, Kristen, thank God, it's action, Texan. And another thing to be. It's one thing to be a lunatic. It's another to be married to lunatic, but there's a lot of your listeners that are on both sides of that, and she was the big difference maker. And then honestly, and I'm not affiliated with them, but but CTX Carmichael training systems, I hired them Jason coupon. Another Texan that wrote this great book on all to running hired him, John Fitzgerald, Adam saint-pierre and Kerlin Malcolm, they, they sherpa me through that thing and we got to the end of it. Finally finished under thirty hours and under thirty hour. We have this joke it we do where you know the most of the time. It's if somebody doesn't want to do something. We say, hey, it's it's called, we do not. We don't. And. And but everything you just laid out, I'm just going to say for you and everybody listening. It's not. We don't. Right. I can't. I, I could never imagine doing that. Can you just. Twenty one days in France. I just I was like twenty nine hours. Did you sleep like he? He was climbing what I was. I was going to powerline at mile eighty and my pacer John was a hundred yards ahead of me 'cause I was bitching and moaning and he didn't wanna hear it anymore..
