"Chicago. He gets hot. Bobby port is something can happen. Boston has another game where they're just off, which I know that that was the hope in some ways before, is that, you know, some of these guys just didn't get the shots. They wanted or there were so many open shots that were missed or the likelihood of jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum ever struggling with this extent again. What are the odds? It could be 5, but I picked 7. I picked Boston in 7. I just felt like it would be too big a hill to climb for Milwaukee without Middleton here because this feels like a series where Middleton is even more helpful than usual. And I think that's being bore out, but I do think that maybe Milwaukee gets one more game. Yeah, I could see that happening. I think I'm pretty confident in Boston just being the better team with Middleton out. The three point shooting is an interesting variable as it always tends to be, especially when you're taking as many as Boston has been forced to take. But at the same time, generating 17 corner threes as the Celtics did in game two, typically that's good. That typically that's what you want to do as an offense. I don't know if you're going to make 8 or 9 as Boston did in game two. But the looks that they get, they're clean they're open and it's just tough. I don't know. That's why you have to feel good about them because if that's your floor of like, damn, we didn't score here, but all we got out of it was a corner three. That's not a bad outcome. You just have to knock those shots down. And even as I was thinking about like, I remember just watching game one, my thought was, man, the Celtics were too reliant on Al Horford, and he didn't get the job done. And then you go back and you look at the numbers and he was like four of 9 from three. So I think there's something to be said about how much of the game is in Al Horford's hands. I remember going back and counting it out. I think he took 5 of their first ten shots in that game. And I don't know that you ever want so much of it to be in his hands. But I mean, it's not like the guy went one for 9. He went four for 9 from three. He wasn't George Yang in this thing. He was shooting well enough to wear like that is hurting you on some level if you're Milwaukee. You might determine that that's better than letting Giannis run wild for 45. Not pointing fingers at any teams that play in San Francisco. But my point is that, you know, so you might determine that you would rather be beaten by one guy than another. And if you're comfortable with saying, we'll let Al Horford beat us if he has to. If he's willing to try, you can try that, but it still may bite you in some other ways. And to some extent, it's kind of what happened with grant Williams too. Is that you put the game in other people's hands and they've got a really good guys on their bench and rotation players. And if they get going, then you're going to start paying more attention to them. And guess who else gets going at that time? Jason Tatum and jaylen Brown. So it's a deeper team and even if the teams were of equal depth when you take Middleton out of that rotation, it's a much different ball game. And I just kind of think that's what we're seeing. And the strategy is built for Boston to have more opportunities to score cleanly than Milwaukee. And I think that's the problem. American corn farmers. Are you of the mind that we're using data from two games, small sample size, Giannis won't shoot 38.5% for the rest of the series despite one of the I asked you to answer this question is this the greatest defense has ever gone up against I meant to limit that filter that to the playoffs because I didn't want you to do too much research. Is Giannis and I think this is a whole different conversation, but the way we talk about superstars just being able to single handedly overcome great defenses, I don't think that that's really a realistic way to view stars right now and when you have a team that has Al Horford that has rob Williams that has grant Williams that has Tatum you can throw on Yanis so Marcus smart will switch on to him and then there will be help. And you can't put the ball on the ground like there's just so many options so much length is Giannis just able to figure this out or if your butt are you like we need to switch something up here. Like we can't subsist with the lineups that we're playing. I'll answer. I think you've asked three questions here and I'll answer all of them. At least no, no, no, it's fine because some of it was in our outline so I knew to be prepared for it. First of all, I mean, you know that since NBA rank and everything that we did, our SI rank at the beginning of the year. I've had Giannis as my number one player the whole time in the world. And even feeling that strongly about it, I don't think that you can just like expect him to break through this. I feel better about, for instance, the warriors and looking at how poorly they shot in game two saying that I think at least one of those three guys pool curry or clay will shoot better because there's more how would you put it? I think there might be more game to game fluctuation when you're talking about guys that are shooting 25 foot shots than when you're talking about guys that are shooting from inside the paint that are that are at the rammer around the rim already and the reason they're not making those shots has nothing to do with fluctuation. It has to do with really, really, really good physical defenders and their face. So there's that part of it. So I don't think that it's just a simple saying he always figures out not to be unfair to be honest or not to like parse bud too much here. He hasn't always figured it out. Like we've seen the bucks have a series lead before. Further along in the playoffs than this. With Chris Middleton available. Right. Chris Middleton has bailed him out. Look, Chris Middleton's important and really good. And he's hit some shots. Very good. We'll just say, and he would be really important for a matchup like this as we talk about Giannis being a screener. We're watching a team that, like you said, more or less, you can't take too much from the fourth quarter. I think the bucks are obviously going to test that and try to utilize it in game three because it was working. But you have much better odds of something working out of Chris Middleton and Giannis or screening for each other than you do for Giannis and anybody else. I mean, even drew, yeah, drew is a good offensive player, but Chris Middleton is 6, 8, 6, 9, however, tall is 6 7, whatever he is. He's a big dude and he's a legitimate, you know, maybe not quite top flight score, but he's close. And he has the capability of playing that and pulling that out of his bag in a playoff setting which we watched him do before. So that's a huge hindrance to not have a guy like that that you're saying that the team is just going to give Giannis, you know, they're not going to leave Yana so that it gives someone like Connaughton a little bit of an open lane to the basket or grace and Allen. Okay, if they get that, what the hell is Chris Middleton going to get? If you have to make a decision between whether to guard him or Giannis and they're both going to the basket at the same time. So that's a huge thing. The last thing I'll say about whether this is the toughest defense, I'm inclined to say yes, but also as we talk about a time where Giannis did not always figure it out. I don't think at the time we recognized it, but the 2019 raptors probably were right there as far as how good a defense they were now at statistically did they stack up that well? No, but we were also watching a season where Kawhi Leonard was being monitored pretty carefully as he was coming off of his injury. So he was not playing every game. We also watched Kauai. I won't say shut down, yannis. It was a lot like this where he's not as efficient as we're used to seeing him be. I remember watching that series going back and looking at the box scores just kind of remembering some of this. He was one for 5 in the fourth quarter of the closeout game. Against Kauai, not even just against quiet and that game in the fourth quarter. He was two for 6 in the game three and that fourth quarter. He was limited to one shot in the fourth quarter of game four, and he was limited to three shots in game 5 in the fourth quarter. So that was a defensive research. I am impressed. So that was a series that had Kauai at his best, which I remember pulling out like that was the first time I ever referred to him as terminator. And I don't know if I was the first one to do it. I thought I was. But just like Kawhi did not look human because I don't even think Kawhi was completely physically right in that series either. And there were questions about whether he was healthy at the early part of the series, but just completely took Yanis out of his position where he wanted to shoot in fourth quarters, but it was also a defense that had Lowry, siakam, Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka, Danny Green, and oh, by the way, I remember.

"John, who Shark Tank star, Super Bowl champion, future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski, Netflix's Selling Sunset actress, Chrishell stross, CMA 2021 female vocalist of the year in country music star Carly Pearce. Now that I caught my breath after all those people and all their achievements, how do you get these people to endorse your book? Start with that. Well, I was looking for, I really wanted to find people that had a restart story. And I'm not going to go through each one of them, but all of them have had wild restart stories where they've hit rock bottom, detoured move left right and gone in so many different ways, but found such success. So their stories align with the premise of the book. How'd I get each of them? I asked them. Carly Pearce, asked her directly. Again, but I'm doing it in a manner that's like, Carly, this book is literally like your life. I tell her about the book. I send her the manuscript. I'm explaining, I want you on the back cover because you represent what I'm trying to do. And Carly's never done a book. So this is the first one. Chrishell, she totally gets it with her path and where she's gone and how far she's come. I just asked her directly. Rob G, I just asked him directly. I mean, the guy lived in born and raised in Buffalo and Buffalo Bills pass over this guy, the best tight end ever play. He got injured and almost never played NFL, has had so many injures since it still came back. Fights and restarts every day. Damon John, his story. We all know it. Unbelievable. I threw him went to his agent who had built a really good relationship with through having him on podcasts and stuff like that. Ted beauty works with Damon, right hand man. He got me Damon's endorsement. Ryan serhant built relationship from doing work like this, call them, took my call. He's like, dude, whatever you want, even tell me what to write, I'll make it my words. Let's do it. Eric and R Dini, coolest story ever. CMO of AOL. That's a huge job. Transitions at a corporate to be the CEO, a freaking barstool, what a wild transition. I love how you said you weren't going to go person by person. You went person by person. I went to that person. But you asked me how because your question was, how'd you get them? Long story short, all 5 of them other than Damon direct. And I think to, I know the answer to this, but just to put icing on the cake, you didn't pay any of these people. Did you? Not a penny. To endorse the book. Nope. Just to thank you. So the cool thing about that is I have the three questions and even in my whole restart road map since I've read the book now. I have, it's a perfect example of networking, selling, and negotiating. Is your networking got you all these people, you're selling is that the book has value and you endure them endorsing it has value for your book and the negotiating is obviously getting them to do it for free because you're basically putting them in a position to feel good about their lives and help others. So it's amazing. So all right, I got one more question and then we're getting the chapters. Let's go. Curious Canadian question..

"Used to further defraud them. So this is what you guys talk about in this study as synthetic account fraud. Can you explain that more? It's like a combination of legit information and fake information. Yeah, so what essentially would happen is someone will take parts of your identity or a person like that and that's available publicly online. Like a name or a stolen social security number. And then they'll use that to create a new identity that they can then go out and carry other types of scams with. And so you actually see this happen quite a bit with romance scams where someone will kind of build a fake Internet persona. Around publicly available information, they'll take someone's social media picture, they'll take someone else's name, their birthday, someone else's hobbies. Build a persona and then present that. To their victim as a way to build trust. And, you know, what I would say is given how much information is out there on the Internet and how much people are on social media, et cetera. I can't stress enough how important digital hygiene is and just taking stock every so often of what about you is publicly available online and whether you want all of that information to be publicly available, check your social media privacy settings is everything out there kind of open for the world to see and access, even if you don't know the people who might be looking at your social media profile, et cetera because if it is, I don't want to say that the chances are, but it's certainly possible that someone could be looking to use that publicly available information. This actually happened to me now that I think about it a million years ago when I got out of a long-term relationship and I was investigating dating apps for the first time because I kind of missed that while being in a relationship. And so I found this guy who pretended to be some Saudi prince or something, but I thought it was hilarious. And so I Googled it and it was all the same pictures and he messaged me something like I'm in Beverly Hills, shopping for jewelry or something something. And obviously I knew this was not him. So I just talked back to him thinking it was hilarious that I was entertaining myself, but I could definitely see how people could fall for something like that. If you're using enough of the actual information that is googleable. Yeah, so it's interesting. You touched on a couple of things first is, you know, romance scammers will try and target people who have lost the loved one, husband or wife, or have just come out of a long-term relationship, and they can figure that out by looking at someone's information on social media if they don't have that information. Available only to be seen by their friends, right? I don't know if that happened to you. That's extremely fucked up. Well, that's my point about digital hygiene and making sure you know, check those social media privacy settings and making sure that if you want just your friends to see things, that's what your settings are set up to do. But the other thing. But even if God forbid, if somebody lost their spouse or something, that seems like a thing that people will post about and get support from the community, it's crazy that you would have to protect something like that from being stolen. Well, that's why, I mean, that's why romance scams in particular are so tragic because they pray, not just kind of on your bank account, but on really real emotions that can be really difficult to grapple with and if you're trying to get back into the dating scene after a tough relationship or right God forbid you lose someone and you're kind of first interaction is being scammed. I mean, what a terrible way what a terrible thing to go through after a tragedy.

"Yeah, yeah. Just to experience was just totally different than the previous year. It was so nice to be right 'cause that was one of the reasons I never really played see thieves because I didn't want to get grief all the hell. And you know when you are in those instances when you're playing, you might come across other players, but as long as you're not in the open sea, no one can just kill you and take all your shit and run with it. And that was what really got me back into the game and then we've just had fun playing it normally and it was a good time. So yeah, good call night. That's good. Great game. Good call. I think one of the games that stood out to me for worldbuilding was ratchet and clank a rift apart. Clearly one of the most beautiful games of the year designed specifically for the PlayStation 5 and it showed just gorgeous graphics, gorgeous animation, all kinds of really cool fun particle effects. And this idea that you're hopping between all of these dimensions and seeing so many different types of environments within that world. I think insomnia games did a really fantastic job. And I was sad to see them not get really any recognition at The Game Awards for how wonderful of a game. Russian clank was same with psychonauts also. Yeah. And so I wanted to just give a shout out to that game. I know it's tough when games are platform exclusive, but they clearly took advantage of the fact that they were exclusive by designing it to maximize the hardware of the PS5 and hopefully when people can get their hands on PlayStation 5. They can more people can experience that game and who knows. We're seeing a lot of PlayStation games come to PC, maybe that game will come to PC eventually too. Certainly hope so it's definitely worth experiencing and seeing for yourself not just in video. Yeah. It felt like the world was alive. I was just standing and just look around to see what was happening in the background. It was really cool to see. And it's so rare that you get games that have that detailed level of animation way in the background because most game engines just can't do it. It takes a lot of resources to have all of those graphics, like the draw distance be so in depth. And I think that's what we're really seeing as it mark a difference between games released on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 versus the previous generation is we're seeing a lot more attention to detail, lighting, textures, and things that I think are only going to get more intricate as we get deeper into the generation and I'm excited for games to come so we're going to talk about in next week's episode. Most anticipated. But moving on to our next award, this is one of our favorite categories. That's right, it's best waifu and best husband. Come up with a wife who, I'm gonna be real. Wait, wait, I just assumed it was lady. Yeah. I mean, waifu, I guess, I want to be on her loving set. I don't want her to always be trying to kill me. I haven't seen that tender side of her. You know what I mean? Can she cares me with her long ass claws? I don't know. But she wants to snug with me in her bosom, we can talk. So yeah, I mean, I'll give it to lady for me. How have I never heard that story right there? It's just right there. You gotta do it. Surprise. I mean, in four K, let's gorgeous. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, is it cheating for me to say commander shepherd? Because math legendary edition came out this year. I mean, best wife of all time. I mean it's fair. It's totally true. I mean, fem Shep is bay. And I finally got my liara here. Let me see if you guys can see it in my single shot. My nice Yara and Gary statues from the Myers store finally came in and I have them on set now. Love it. Love. I may have bought one too many things on the BioWare store this year. And almost everything was pre order, so you pay for it and you forget about it. And then it shows up like months later and you're like, oh, I forgot I bought myself a present, I suppose. Oh, that bought myself another present in John's like, wait, did you buy something else from the BioWare store? And I was like, straight up? He supports my habits. What about you two? Any wife who's our husband does? I think for me, it'd be megara from 80s. 'cause I put a lot of work into that relationship. Many, many hours. Hey, I'm with you, Britney. Lady D all the way. All the way. Come on, those memes online got me excited to check out, you know, in the game. See? It worked for you. Pulled your ass in. And are we all right? We also do it with husband bando. We're just doing waifu. We're doing both. Okay. Has fando. And this is gonna sound weird, but you gotta hear me out. Master Chief. Okay. Ask her chief. Listen. No, it's not gonna sound weird. He's an iconic guy in the. Well, universal video games. And he's like so hyper masculine. Well, yeah, but I think when you think of Master Chief, like he's this green shell of a human because he literally only wears his armor. He can never hesitate. He looks up at the end of legendary edition and he love if he takes off. Anyway, he his growth, I think, in halo infinite, and I haven't heard a lot of people talking about this. Now, who has played the campaign among all of us? Okay, I've watched. All right, obviously. No spoilers here, no spoilers here. I think the relationship between him and his new AI companion the weapon really humanizes him to an extent we haven't seen him before. And I think dealing with the loss of Cortana and halo four and the events of halo 5, it really feels like he's grown so much as a character, even without the weapons help in the sense that I think he's done a lot of me just going off with my bad self, but a lot of almost soul searching, some of the answers he has to some of the questions posed to him are very, I don't want to say human because he is a human, but he's such a machine type human, 'cause he's all about, oh, you gotta do whatever you gotta do to finish the job. I'm master treaty if sacrifices must be made. Who's the machine, right? Cortana or him. And so the way he answers some of these questions, it's like, you've done a lot of soul searching habit you, sir. And he's very in touch with himself and his emotions. And to me, I just think that's so attractive when you're a human a creature, anything that isn't afraid of your emotions and isn't afraid to express them and be vulnerable. And I think for the first not the first time, but I think more than ever, we see the impact that those games had on him as a character. And he does express himself and he isn't afraid to admit when maybe he's scared or if he's vulnerable if he's feeling inadequate. And I was like, you, sir, our husband material. I don't know what you look like underneath that helmet. Maybe you never take the helmet off. It's fine. It's like a tally situation, right? You know what I mean, Andrea? Just leave it down. Oh, yes. Leave it on. I feel yeah. So that's her chief. I hit it. Great choice. Yeah, you never seen him like that before. Right. In the previous games, it's quite different from him. Love it. Great choice. I think that would be my pick too. That one also or Giancarlo. He's a badass. Now listen, Danny, it looks like we're sharing husbands and wives here. We're gonna have to figure this out. But that's what I had to flip it. That's why I say, you know what, I have to pick. Watch out, read. We can share custody..

"Brought to you by audible, Joan didion wrote about grief like no one else could by annabelle gutterman. Joan didion made sense of the world through words. She was known for them, her cool, exacting prose, her sentences, smooth and spare. But in the aftermath of her husband's fatal heart attack in 2003, her relationship with words changed. This is a case in which I need more than words to find the meaning. She wrote in her 2005 memoir, the year of magical thinking. This is a case in which I need whatever it is, I think, or believed to be penetrable, if only for myself. Didian, who died on December 23rd at the age of 87, was the author of 5 novels several works of nonfiction, including slouching towards Bethlehem and the white album, screenplays and more. She was a prolific storyteller who ushered in a new style of journalism, combining research and lyrical imagery with cutting moments of humor. In the forward of the last book she published before her death, let me tell you what I mean, writer Hilton all's described didian as a Carver of words in the granite of the specific. She both dissected the ordinary Ness of the everyday for its complexities and broke down the most foreign of situations into familiar accessible parts. Crucially, diddy and also explored the language we use to process loss and the limitations of that language. Now, as the world mourns her death, we look to her own words for both guidance and solace. Grief has no distance, grief comes in waves, paroxysms, sudden apprehensions that weaken the knees and blind the eyes and obliterate the daily Ness of life. Did he wrote in the year of magical thinking? The book, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, chronicled the process of grieving the death of her husband and most trusted collaborator, the writer John Gregory Dunn, a little over a month before their 40th wedding anniversary. Dunn was writing for time when they first met. When done died, the couples adopted daughter Quintana was unconscious in the ICU, suffering from pneumonia and septic shock. Didion's experience with lost continued, a little over a year and a half after done's death, Quintana died.

"Out jobs. And Jim Yeah, down to what's his microphone where it's at? Just because Hey, I love clap your hands. Where is that? Levels of a microphone. Where's that? Got it? You're right, Graham. We listen to this. See, this was a great album. Yeah. Totally. Yeah, totally. Or delayed or late should give our keys. Urban, please. He's been sober for 15 years. We remember when this all went down and he get nominated for CMA today. Little I don't know. All I know is I I don't know that he did. He didn't He didn't read. Yeah, well, maybe I don't know. Okay. He's talked about his sobriety, said it took me a long time to get sober. Took me a long time to recognize my alcoholism. Because I didn't drink like my dad was an alcoholic. And he compared everything to my dad and he went to rehab. Like after he and Nicole had been married. We'll tell you about that. How many months? Yeah. Two months and he said it took me a long time when he finally made the right decision. You wished his dad would have made that decision as well. He spoke about Nicole Kidman sticking with him after rehab. That's the point where he really should have just walked and I'm just so glad she didn't and she made a decision to turn around and initiate ultimately, the intervention that saved his life, he said. It was done in such a way. But the love in the room in the moment was just right. And I was, like, put the cuffs on and let's go. I mean, he's making it, you know, he adds, He doesn't talk much about his if he doesn't talk much no, because he doesn't want people to think he has a negative opinion about alcohol or drugs to each his own. I don't have any judgment. Yeah, I want people to come to my concerts. Have fun. Do what you want to do, Right? There's no judgment, but he just said she stuck with him because we remember they were not together long. No. And I think he relapsed and then went back in for the six month deal, If you remember because they they met backstage. Someone set him up their agents or something. And they're both Australian. And it was like, so perfect. And he was he was He had a cocaine, cocaine. That was his thing. Whatever it is, Yep. When you can't stop right when you can't when you don't have the stop, But you just like, keep drinking, Keep snorting. Keep whatever it is and and you can only imagine. Like how many people were like. Wanna Turn on Keith Urban or whoever it might be. I mean, it's just endless part of part He's got is a bit right now. We're hearing so many, like really horrific stories about cocaine being laced with fentanyl. Excellent. You know, drug use is not as easy. It used to be like, Well, Gioia. Yeah, it sounds really bad to say. But the fentanyl stuff things are cut different. It's cut differently and also like you can we know from watching breaking bad and some of these other shows, you can make stuff cheaper than getting the real stuff. Right and all of that, so it's dangerous. Well, Keith Urban is not nominated for any CMAs this year. But, um there's a whole bunch of people who are. They did nominate two women in the entertainer of the year, Miranda and Carrie Underwood. And that's funny that they do, Miranda because based on John Bremen, everybody went to the concert. She has no stage. She never wins. She she hasn't won that yet, Harry. Has limited stage presence. Do we? Sorry, Yes, we do, but should they? They should have nominated Maren Morris did nominate Maren Morris for female vocalist of the year. Gabby Barrett, Ashley McBryde, Miranda Mirin and Carly Pearce marital probably when it because they think people really, really like her shows Instead, I don't know who votes on any of this stuff for that. That's happening. There's a blistering blistering back and forth, um, in the L A times, Lindsey Buckingham, and he performed here a couple weeks ago and John Bream and Mystic yet mystic and he interviewed him because Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac as a solo album anyway, he gave an interview to the L A Times. And my gosh. He in angry details, explained why he got fired from Fleetwood Mac's complained about Stevie next. No, this is just in this new but I remember when he got fired. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it just anyway, he's told Daily Times. It would be like a scenario where Mick Jagger says either Keith Richard goes or I go and no neither of you can go. But I guess the singer has to stay. That's the figure head and he's Like just going on and on boy, Stevie Nicks and, um, the Azov, the producer fired back and just, you know, I haven't read ends a little quite so good and dishy, but these two have always ethnically fat. That's how we got rumors. I mean, these two were lovers. But if you have a chance, read the L a times this interview and then read the responses that Stevie Nicks and Irving Azoff give back to the L A times. Well, it's quite juicy. I believe it's quite juicy. Nobody is holding back and Stevie Nicks she lit a fire under him. And now it's just like, yeah, it sounds like Maybe maybe Lindsay shouldn't have been so whiny in that interview. Yeah, it sounds like it. Yeah. Alright, Listen, we come back. We're going to Hollywood Speak a Megan Fox, who's probably in town since machine gun. Kelly's at the Armory tonight. But she has this to say about a relationship with M G. K.
