I thought two hours and I ended and I thought writing the dugouts gonna end it so well to do. It's a different hole, different stories. I was able to super high career says he told Jose Altuve, a wood homer to end it and Dusty Baker the same thing, and he mentioned Gary Pettus, the Astros coach, battling on illness. "This stays in the deep again forthe soul shot seven. Wow, this dude I mean, going yard twice in a playoff game is always going to be huge, but doing it as Carlos Correa is the ultimate believe you To the world right now. Remember last week after the Astros beat the Twins and CC asked all the haters what they had to say then those comments went over real well about as well as I don't know. Gas station sushi. Especially when the other C C CC. Sabathia. Heard those comments and then responded with this. They cheated and they're mad at us. And then you finished under 500 this year like said the kid's a clown. And I'm sorry. I'm so conflicted because I'm so close to dusty. That's my guy. But man team has loves 18 straight. I'm not gonna be straight. I've never I mean, part of that might have been where he was. And he might be comfortable. I have never heard CC get loose like that. To recap, quote. Get the F out of here. Quote kids a clown. Quote, you get no credit for beating the twins. He verbally buried Correa for the entire Internet to sea and it Carlos comes right back in his first game since any jumps ship twice. Twice. Might hate that guy. In fact, a lot of people do hate that guy and hate that team and everybody in that clubhouse. But in terms of this guy, you gotta respect that He continues to cash monster checks that is gap has been scratching out. Astros. 10 Ayes five. They're going right back in a couple hours after I get off the air today, so people are already branding that the good the evil Siri's just about everybody loves the A's and even more people cannot stand the Astros. But it's pretty clear. In fact, crystal clear the Astros don't give a damn do they? They don't care. They're leaning into it, and they won round one of that fight yesterday. Speaking of evil. Here comes the Empire. The evil Empire. Don't look now. The Yankees are peaking at the exact right moment had have last night, right? If Jericho started, you have to win. You have to win..

"There's too many gray weapons. I liked the Kansas City Chiefs to take on the Patriots game. Those verses the rate I'm going to bills the bills are again 3 and oh, they look good. They had a great win. I mean, they almost blew the win against the Rams last week, but they hung on for the win. I like both low against the Raiders Eagles versus the 49ers. We always San Francisco. I think San Francisco again is just what they showed last week. I get it was a bad Giants team, but what they show is all those pieces missing, it's still go get a win handily like no problem. So like San Francisco to take on the Eagles and take them down. Finally Green Bay versus Atlanta. I'm sorry. I am going to have to go with cream Bay. I have seen nothing from Atlanta to make me think that they can go into Green Bay and get a win or even hold a lead. I've seen nothing from them to make me think that long Green Bay. Again, Aaron Rodgers just playing lights out right now putting himself into a brace for the MVP contention along Russell Wilson, but I had just Atlanta just I'm sorry. Yo, Able, you can't hold a lead and Rogers. Nothing's going to blow a lead. I like Green Bay twitter shout-out from at say it out loud sp1000. He's got an upset as far as the Lions beating the Saints and he's saying that the Dolphins are going to cover versus Seattle now again, I don't do the cover, but I'm reading it cuz it's their choice. So again lines he's got lines upsetting the Saints at Detroit. Now those again, those are all my week 4 Picks want to close this episode talking about the MLB playoffs and I want to talk about the Houston Astros because I'm says pretty much all year. Here's Nationals right now are very lucky. Okay, they are going to get all these stadiums with no fans and not getting booed or anything and yet we are sitting here saying Carlos Correa. We're pretty much getting our comments of well, it was here. But we're here. I love this comment. I know a lot of people are mad. I know a lot of people don't want us to see us here. But what are they going to do now after you beat a Minnesota Twins team that has lost. I can't believe this stat eighteen straight postseason games 18th Street, Carlos Correa. Congratulations on continuing to beat a team that doesn't win in the playoffs. I'm happy for you really am and I'm happy that God. I love what the other day. I was game was on and they were showing like the stats. I think they're showing like hitting percentage at home and like fastball like hits batting average or whatever. It was is 217. They were first in both categories 2020. They were ninth and tenth wonder why would terrible this year? Oldest shortened season no, no. No, you're terrible dish here because you got caught stealing signs with a trashcan technology all that stuff off. No wonder why you were back and congratulations for making the playoffs and I'm very shortened year on a playoff run or whatever was almost it seemed like half of the American League was allowed to join. So congratulations. I'm very happy for you guys. Do I want to see you in the win the World Series? Absolutely not, you know, why because you should not even be in the playoffs in the first place. You guys ruined careers. You ruined people's lives pretty much. Okay, you took away awards from players that actually deserved them. Why should we be sitting there saying? Oh like what like you think we're gonna forget know and guess what next year off and when fans are allowed to be in the same. They're going to still boo in Heckle you deal with it you brought this on yourself and Carlos. I'm telling you right now. I don't care like Berlin or get my favorite player and I lost respect for him because he knew about all that. He knew you gotta steal this science and yet. It's still went on. And then and then what was that someone came out? I think it was you Korea that came out and said, oh, well, it wasn't really helping it was definitely helping you the stats show it everything shows helping you guys. Don't you tell me it wasn't helping you and your GM's as well. We don't think you actually change the outcome. Yeah did of pit like think about this a hitter is so good at hitting a 90 some mile-per-hour ball, right a little white ball one from like 6:45 p.m. 6 if you let me know what the distance from the mound to home plate. I don't know what it is, but he has to find that in a Split Second. Or see if it's a breaking ball, but these guys know when they see fact well, they know when fast balls coming when they leaves the hand of the picture they know it. So how as a professional hitter long. Are we going to say because if I don't know if if I know down to the fast balls coming I don't have an advantage. Are you kidding? Yes you do. So that's why we're all upset and we're saying we're manager there. You should not be in the playoffs. You should not be given the World Series piece of metal. As Rob Manfred said you should be giving you a ring back because you guys did not deserve that. I'm not saying that the Dodgers deserve the World Series I'm saying no one did that year deleted and I know there's a huge asterisk by your guys names and I love Rob Lowe. He made those hats out of the Houston Astros with a Houston Astros in the center of it. Beautiful. I should buy me one of those. But I probably won't wear her but still so Carlos Correa. I'm happy that you guys got your series over the Minnesota Twins happy you guys got you win, and if you guys go to the World Series, cool, maybe you probably a little bit of a point, but at the same time will never forget what you all did in 2017 that will deliver this episode of one done right, Thanks for tuning to the show. "I just think that the matchup of what they bring defense is going to slow down while the Titans do on offense Ben. Roethlisberger has looks solid and again not effective as far as like the four hundred yards or whatever. He has nothing Big Bend, but I'm going to go with the Steelers in this one Giants versus the Rams. I think the Rams be the giant land. That's why I don't think it's close. I think the Giants are bad there continue to be bad. They're always going to be bad until I don't know until the gym and management whatever it is just all change Patriots versus the Chiefs. I like this matchup Agony over the Chiefs Chiefs. I think you're going to they're going to blow the doors wide open. I think Patrick Mahomes showed against Baltimore that what he can do will be consistent is just dead when you give him a little bit of Kris, he's going to take it every time as far run the ball when you given time he's going to find somebody to open. There's too many gray weapons. I liked the Kansas City Chiefs to take on the Patriots game. Those verses the rate I'm going to bills the bills are again 3 and oh, they look good. "It's hard for dom at that point. Say of course. He's as well as part of the game and that but you know that's that's part of the fight game when when they usually step into the break it up. You're not unanswered questions on answered shots hurt. He looked to me and again I. You know a big dominant cruise fan. So I did want to see him take more punishment than they had to take. It was rough. And what do you think about Triple C. walking away. I don't believe it. You don't want it when he was saying about him believe it. I don't believe in a moment. You know a tactic maybe to make some more cash but my thing is I don't know man. He said well he walked away from wrestling. He was done and I don't know I mean what else does. The Guy Really got approved to be honest nothing is the UFC. This is a much bigger thing than wrestling. And this is his career and he's thirty three and not only did he just win. He beat one of the greats of all time without really taking any damage he took no damage at all. So there's no way a guy I don't believe the emotion behind it. It was not emotional at least from what I was watching. I don't know Henry my Jimmy is. It would have been a little bit more of an emotional moment. You know what would have been. No way cheered. So it's kind of like crickets okay. I'm walking away from the game. There's nothing going on. So it's Kinda of weird because I don't think we've really seen that before you know what I mean because usually when people even the gloves INARA saying they're done Man It is funny ties with Joe in there all right they take go to announce the winner ladies and gentlemen. I think he's fucking around at some point with that. It's not just the whole thing is just something to get used to. But Yeah didn't bother me at all but I think it would have been a warble moment. If there was a crowd you might be right. Yeah maybe I'm not thinking I'm not considering that Maybe we can wait for our first two guests to discuss now. Who's on I? I don't know who's on first if it's all wall Paris were did. I mentioned Ryan Span. Who DEFEATED SAM? Sam D. We found him. I'm looking for a fight. Dana white looking for a fight. It's available in Youtube. It's a fun show Jimmy. It sure is a million. It's easy every time. Yeah but yeah I was watching. This guy looks familiar. Like Oh shit. That's where we we found that so he looked great man and say lb dude. What about that head? Nam Choke that Ryan Span had on on and how we from standing. I've seen that before. I thought he was going out when that was going on it was sick. You said also you see the was like a hawk movie going like. GimMe show me your okay so you Sam out. He was already read turning redder and like smiling. Like a psychopath. It was it was a moment and when he got out of that and I was like Holy Shit Man. I was worried about spans homes and I thought I thought I would see him. I'll be was going to sleep with a smile on his face. Visit they luke. Galeb awesome price wasn't the he wasn't the fight you know and I like how he doesn't get discouraged Nico price when things aren't going his way and he's he's still in there putting a foot in your face and and then having a flurry where he's all but I'll tell you the scent they he. He's a killer man. He's a guy that's that's that's that's a very very dangerous striker and he's got such night and he's got such crisp technique. You know what I mean working with Youth. I loved it. Yeah and it was a doctor stoppage because of the I. Right yes yeah. Bryce Mitchell defeated Charles Rosa. We both had on the card. And I'll tell you something. Wow Yeah I taught. It'd be more competitive and I'm not shitting on Charles first of all create firearm obstacles. Great fighter and a lot of other fighters were and weathering any of those storms. That's right he was in from a very first of all holy Shit. He was in bed position to a tight submission to getting out of a tight submission. True a bad position. And that was the story of the fight. Yep He was dominating positionally and then when when he would try to. Charles Rosen try to scramble Alpha Braves Mitchell Price Mitchell would sink on head knob joke. Oh my goodness. How many twists their attempts are there? How many twister attempts Janet? It was guy he's GonNa get another. He's going to get another one. If not in his upcoming fights we will see my prediction. We'll see more than one in the next year of him. Getting I swear to God he's GonNa get Jimmy Trolls Rosa. Got Out of some. I mean I'm telling you. Eight hundred ten is but eight out of ten are tap into that or getting caught in that twister or any one of them he was. I'm telling you this is the deal. Jimmy homage man you know through through. I love watching Jujitsu Brazilian Jujitsu in combat in a UFC us. I I can watch the sub grappling tournaments. But I but I. It was my interest. I like it when if you lose a position or you lose a sub. It makes a difference with you. Mayo right now face now you know what I mean. Provincial that fight clean look good and it was like dude somewhat somebody. Thirty Twenty Four. I believe it was. It was such a beautiful display of Jujitsu. I chose Rosa. Who's a very good jiu? Jitsu black belt. I mean look what he did look just took many Bermuda's Bermuda's ground guy and more bottle. Here's particularly price Mitchell's on hold with them. Not Up in here was I. Don't think there was one moment that fight as good as Charles rose to is that he was actually ahead. There was one decision he made. I don't know if it was in the second or third where he seemed like he was having a little success standing and then he just got too close. I didn't know why he did that. I I. He made one weird decision. Maybe they can spur of the moment to fight me to say watching it but I thought he got. He should've tried to stay away a little longer. And he let himself get wrapped up. Listen his fight. Iq will grow will gain He will gain he will take a Costa back. Hopefully take a whole bunch of owed from this sure when when I see a guy who has a good team like Algebra has a great team when he fought Bryan. Caraway went to guard with a guillotine. It costs them that round. Possibly the fight you understand in a very close fight so because what happens is like if you used. The tactic is with that in class If you don't get it it doesn't really you know you keep going guilty later but the thing is in a five minute five minute rounds and you're fighting an a situation like this at an Ma fight you. The position could end the fight around and chew on bottom. And that's not what you want. You know what I'm saying so you really have to know when it's like Verdoux when he fought Came Velazquez Cave last shot in deep and he had his neck. It's like when he knew he knew going down this stopping. So unless you feel like you I had guys like this thousand eight four in training hundreds of times thousand times. I know this had to go to sleep. I got them right where I want him but he would get him around the neck and when he'd go to guard he was when go down. He wasn't achieving guard. He get a lot of times half guard. So you don't have the same leverage on it so now yeah you might have his neck but you lower have not where it should be an a guy who knows before like Bryce Mitchell is just not going to get tapped right now. You've gotta savage on top of you. Who knows the ground game? And he's making you pay for. It seem to like for dooming Ola Nick. I thought he went for a couple of times. He was going for a couple of jokes but all nick was so good and so strong and he did such a good job defensively Against the bigger as of seventeen pounds. This is my thoughts on that older first of all. Holy Shit I could've with high school. Both guys the forty do I believe. We're Verdun forty two. I know the guy is all. The Nick is all only. Let me tell you something. First of all he looked in great shape. He looked in better shape than usual list and think. Verdun looked worse shape than usual. He looks soft around the middle and he looked a little flabby. I mean he's never got a super ripped but he didn't and I think I don't know if he had enough respect for Nick. I don't know what kind of anime Matthews do. And maybe he's thinking. All Right Walt Harris. Who's going to be on soon smoked Olympic in the last fight? What I did won't Harris Will Mitra Jitsu. You know what I mean and maybe it was going play with this guy standing up. Yeah I had no time to. Wasn't that like literally within a week. You've taken the story. I think the same day. Oh the day before Al was really clips. Yeah but it just shows you. How any look like a beast? Then you know what I mean. Especially when it's destruction of all look pretty good last night a couple of shadow but I feel Verdun. We're talking about that fight. I think Verdoux went in there thinking. He could do whatever he wants until he found out he couldn't do whatever he wants then plan. B. which should have been played a is to make it a grappling match. He's on a different level. She Gypsy wise than Olympic. The problem is you get an exhausted. I know what belt he is. But let's just say this you couldn't exhausted blackbelt going with a purple belt. Who's not as exhausted. You're going to see a big difference but I'm just saying in class and whatnot so you get down. Verdoux crapped out. I wasn't going whether it was the strikes that Olympic landed which landed some decent ones or just the Zaidi of saying all right. This is not what I expected standing up. Now it's the him getting Zaidi from not landing what he wanted to end the not going his way by twenty one of the bigger Jitsu match. He was dominating them but he looked already weathered he will go already. Whether he had a better shot of going and doing a flying he get on his back and starting from there would have got a reversal. He would have been on top if he was gonNA talk with that. Komura almost finished over neck from more at Verdun on Yes yeah Oh God yeah that was closed. Yes he had well all it had to go to back to. He had to give up the mouth. You had to give up being top back on getting broken off. And he did it so he knew enough. He was not on the same level in Jujitsu as do totally levels. Jimmy you have you seen but when you're so exhausted will you can't keep the back when you have both hoax in disguise. Turtle this is get. Keep US somebody if you weathered so. He's just like screw this. I'm just going to get back up. He was not he. I'm telling you I think we're doom look pretty bad. The worst I've ever seen them and Olympic had. Hey you know he should be. You should be happy with his performance. Because you're right matt who's in better shape than normal. He looked smaller than normal and doom had that two year layoff and maybe maybe he lost weight on purpose..
Mike Trout rips cheating Astros, calls for bigger punishment
"Happy Spring Training has been so happy so far. No I was GONNA say being the leadoff hitter is generally a good thing but not if the leadoff hitter for the Astros in two thousand one that might be a little bit dicey so on Monday Mike. Trout spoke in baseball circles. I really feel like it's words that are being carved on tablets might trout use. The Word Cheat. He noted the absurdity of the advantage of knowing what pitch is coming at this Take Note Jim Crane any express frustration over the fact. The Astra's haven't been disciplined. He spoke forcefully as forcefully as he has an N. issue baseball. And if you're the astros in your angry the world right now this might be the moment that forces you to look in the mirror I really feel like when Clayton Kershaw sees about the said something the Astros might dismiss it as well. Those guys are sore losers because we beat them. When cody bellinger said something they might think. Well what are you talking about your strikeout machine? In the two thousand Seventeen World Series Boba shed Gleyber Torres. Come out and said things they might think. Shut up you too young to say anything. One might. Trout says something that has to resonate even with the most defying the Astros. Because not only is a great players you know. He's also incredibly respected within the sport and they know him as a great in accepting person and so i. I sent on twitter this morning. That it's like getting yelled at by your favorite uncle. There's just something to it. What do you think yeah no look? I Applied Mike Trout. You know he's not always a man of many words. That's for sure you know. I'm sure he considered beforehand. What he was going to say he obviously knew these questions or coming to him so he took obviously a very strong stance towards not only the Astros but towards the commissioner so as one of the faces of the game. I absolutely applaud him for coming down. Hard on everything that's happened. So tell me how you think he's. Words would go over with a George Springer and Altoona Bregman Carlos Correa marlins not on the Astros anymore but certainly saw him early this spring address this because I feel like that they would just listen and say nothing. It wouldn't be any complaints among the Astros and Mike. Trout speaks in this way. What do you think yeah? It's a good question. You know for all the apologies. We've now seen the Astros gives since that initial press conference. I still don't know if there's a lot of remorse or regret at least I haven't been down there in West Palm was Houston. But that's the feeling I get from far that they did it. They know they're supposed to apologize. But they're still feeling of. We got away with it. We one where the champs so be it So I don't think that feeling of remorse. Is there now. Is that going to change? Because Mike Trout says he's lost respect for them. Probably not you would hope they. Would you know do a little inner self reflecting and sink a little more about their actions? But I think they're also it's also easy to say. This happened in two thousand seventeen. We don't care moving on and maybe that's what the sport itself does need to do at some point this spring and I feel like that is best for the Astros at this point. Let's face it. They've taken a lot of incoming shots they punch back the other day. I think it's time for them to stop worrying about trying to save what they've already loss. You know watching Carlos Correa over the weekend pushed back a talk about individual situations in the world series when they weren't cheating and I I thought it was absurd. Yes we were cheating in the first inning the second and third inning but in that run-scoring spot in the fence. We weren't cheating you know and to extend my a comparison the astros with someone who cheated in neighborhood poker game. Can you imagine if someone said? Yeah we dealt from the bottom of the deck with firsthand second anther. We played that fourth. Hand straight up like other players. Don't WanNa hear that and I feel like that while Carlos was passionate in trying to absolve Jose altuve and trying to draw lines. It's a waste of time. Their legacies in cement. It's over in terms of the Court of public opinion. No absolutely and we all know. There's only one solution for the Astros and that's to go out and win the World Series in twenty twenty and at least remove the cloud of suspicion for this season. When we're pretty sure they're not gonNA Poll any shenanigans released today extent. They have that is the only way two thousand seventeen as you said that legacy is incident. You know it's always GonNa be be doubt now. They're going to go out and prove that they actually are as good as we think they. They are at least as good as they've been the last three years
Houston Astros' Carlos Correa's defense of Jose Altuve
"Astro shortstop Carlos Correa was very outspoken over the weekend about the accusations against his team some of the comments that were made around baseball on Friday and after about the Astros most notably most famously Cody Ballenger who played for the Dodgers was very critical of the Astros was very harsh on them on Friday and didn't hold back when he thought that he believed Jose Altuve a stolen MVP award for Erin judge that the Astros stole a World Series from the Dodgers and the Dodgers have a very very legitimate gripe on the conversation around the sign stealing and the accusations is the Astros in two thousand and seventeen Dodgers fans and the Dodgers faithful and the organization itself have a very serious scribe much more serious than the Yankees gripe when they didn't score any runs in the four games of the Astros won and I understand that that doesn't totally excuse the fact that the Astros cheated and again to me it doesn't matter how much she did or didn't help them they cheated and even if they tried to cheat and couldn't decipher the signs that still cheating and that's still against the rules and you should still be heavily criticized alternately punished for that so the Dodgers have a legitimate gripe Ballenger I don't think was really that far out there on anything that he said but Carlos qureia the Astros shortstop came to the defense of his team mate I thought qureia had more than a few comments that worked out good for him and the Astros and I thought the career had more than a few comments that did work out great for him and the Astros so I'll start with the good comments the comments the winning qureia's favor first a middling comment or two in the ones that it Corradino great job talking about the Astros first of all qureia's comments about wholesale to very and clearing Jose Altuve base name those are probably the best pieces of evidence in vindicating wholesale to very not the Astros Jose out to pay for what happened in two thousand seventeen qureia made it very clear to Ken Rosenthal the athletic multiple times they'll to they did not cheat he did not want the banging going on during his at bats if there was banging that went on he told them to stop banging during his at bats and I know many people are saying well the water hose out too vague apologize for what happened well wholesale to they apologize for not stopping it he did apologize for using the system he apologized for not stopping it's qureia talking about to say and how he didn't like it again I thought that was a really good comment and for people critical of the tattoo story for Jose out to very not wanting his shirt ripped off in the walk off home run situation in two thousand nineteen if Carlos Correa's going to defend wholesale to rate and a lot about it wouldn't he create something a lot more believable then Jose Altuve a has a bad tattoo and I he don't want anybody to see it and I didn't want anybody to see it so we can refer shirt off when they're when the light there'd be a little bit more believable what would you try to make it less far fetched that yeah he'd like us to add to that moment so we don't want anybody to see it by the way we got a little bit more to the old the wife didn't want the shirt ripped off qureia said that Jose Altuve ETS wife called his wife I look I'm not married but I've had girlfriends I've got a girlfriend now and we girlfriends talk to girlfriends when wives talk to whites when girlfriends talk to whites stuff gets done okay ladies when they get together and they run those households and they want their men to work together on something to get something done or to keep something from happening in the future it gets dark so I thought paraded a really good job clearing wholesale two days name I didn't want to believe Jose Altuve they cheated they were obviously bangs on the trash can during out to pay it back so we can see on video and we can hear on these audio clips the people have started to break down on social media and it became very clear that Hey the people the Baylor Trask and sometimes they just banged it and then I'll to base it don't do it and even somebody on social media clocked all the bags that he heard on on video and they could say that it never really happened more than once it out to vase at bats and sorts of was I thought courageously good job clearing up to his name I thought he did a pretty good job showing remorse he apologized a bunch of different times he explained that the Astros have to live with that that they have to put their heads down at night the to think about the fact that they cheated on their way to a two thousand and seventeen World Series I thought that was a good amount of remorse he was the player the show the most from wars in interviews this week he continued to show more remorse not cheating in two thousand nineteen qureia was adamant that the Astros did not use the trashcan banking system in two thousand eighteen two thousand nineteen the commissioner's office said that they did not use that trash can bring system into thousand nineteen they did say the commissioner's office the commissioner's report did say they cheated two thousand eighteen credits plane that was the codebreakers system that was up stairs not the players he thought of the talk of the buzzers was ludicrous any claimed and double down yet again that they did it clean and two thousand eighteen and they did a clean in two thousand and nineteen unfortunately for Carlos qureia the Astros do you believe a cheater speculation on what they did or didn't do it's really tough to say those are the good things I think paraded the middling thing where I don't know if it's good or I don't know if it's bad what determined yet he would have to Cody Bilger decided Cody villagers failures as a baseball player in the playoffs in two thousand seventeen he went after the Dodgers he was fine doing that I like that I like with athletes speak their mind I like when they speak their opinions and I really like it when they talk to each other through the media so that we can all hear about instead of handling it behind closed doors like most people would do so here's what I don't think career did very well I don't think astro shortstop Carlos creation defended Jim cranes comments the comments the crane made at his press conference we're not sure how much it helped qureia that day said to help them and the career went on to say well crane never played baseball so he doesn't know he's on familiar he should have just declined to discuss Jim cranes comments in my opinion and then I don't think courageous a really good job talking about the World Series where he claimed that they didn't cheat the World Series because well it was too hard to decipher the opponent signs in the World Series we tried to cheat but didn't complete the act of cheating is not good enough but that's not a good excuse that's not a good call me well you know the the they had a lot of different songs that we we saw all the signs of we could decide from that's not a good enough the that's not a good explanation okay again I think the biggest thing for me and I don't know how you exactly feel but we want to hear from you at Cody underscore students on Twitter as well as one hundred two to four two zero zero four if you want to get in on this tell me if it helped or didn't help that doesn't matter to me they tried the system and by trying it they broke the rules okay the rules are not broken because they deciphered the signs correctly and it was an advantage for them the rules were broken when they attempted to decipher the signs using cameras and try to relate that to the batter that's breaking the rules okay the problem that qureia runs into here is I'm sure Astros fans love this heck I really liked it again I love the with athletes talk to each other through the media I love it when a guy comes out passionately defends teammate goes at different people who may be critical the team I love that okay but all he did was fanned the flames for the other twenty eight fan bases were really ticked off I see twenty eight because the red Sox is still under investigation and notice they've been very quiet on this thing will baseball finish up finishes up their investigation the red Sox the biggest thing here for the Astros going for for Carlos Correa for Jose Altuve a for any of those players implicated in cheating in their time in Houston they can't prove that they are innocent almost nobody can prove their innocence that's what members of the Astros have to rely on the commissioner's report so much they have to keep pointing back to that's why Jim crane leaned on it so heavily in this press conference those are the only people that can clear the Astros name it's easily proven that they cheated they've even admitted to at this point they can't prove that they didn't do it they can't bring evidence to the case and said look we're not cheating here the only thing the Astros can bring to the conversation at this point are there comments and their conversations about how they didn't do it let's be very honest with ourselves here how often do you believe a cheater how often do you believe someone who has wronged you when they say I didn't wrong you like you think I wrong to you but I did wrong user how often would you believe that person it's very hard to believe the Astros it's very hard to believe them when they say they didn't cheat and two thousand eighteen or they didn't change in two thousand nineteen and that's why conversation persist about buzzers and a lack of a thorough investigation by
Carlos Correa fires back at Cody Bellinger

The Rise and Fall of Baseball's Hottest Young Manager
"So Buster. The Red Sox and Alex Cora mutually parted ways on Tuesday. I think that's what we're calling it. After it was revealed that Cora was an integral part in the illegal sign stealing operation in Houston in two thousand seventeen when he was the astros bench coach. MLB is currently investigating the Red Sox as well to determine whether he implemented similar signs stealing in their twenty eighteen world series winning season season and now we are all awaiting to see what his punishment will be. What was your reaction to the report of his wrongdoing and his subsequent firing well? I wasn't surprised that he wound up leaving from what I understand from talking with sources that he knew as soon soon is the astros fired. Aj hinch and they fired. Jeff Luneau their general manager that his position with the red sox wasn't tenable depressing intimate set in terms. The suspensions and at the very least Alex is going to probably get a year and if they were to stack on the extra counts for the red SOx walks in two thousand eighteen at the end of that investigation. He might even get more time than that and so I think he totally understood that they're in a position where they were going to have have to consider a change. We met with Alex yesterday and everyone went into that meeting trying to answer. The question is what was in the best interest for the Boston. Red Sox Alex was professional understanding that he had made a mistake and and so after a couple of conversations. We all mutually agreed that we needed to part ways. But we do it. Alex feels like to some degree. Sorry that he's leaving on his own terms just as someone who's known for a long time and worked with them. I certainly feel that way a year ago. I think we would talk about about. Alex is being the most powerful manager in baseball and now we don't know if he's ever going to manage the big leagues again. But you worked with him when he was at. ESPN right right right. Worked with him for four years. ESPN did shows with him was around him and then after he left. You know when I would do my work on Sunday night. Baseball all or other type reporting and you talk to him or you're around the red sox and you watched how he interacted with players boy. He ascended so quickly and I can't remember someone who probably was better suited for the position of manager and saying I can't sit here today and predict that he's ever going to manage again in the major leagues seeks buster. What did baseball say that? Alex Cora actually did in Houston that he was essentially at the center of the conversation. An that had begun with Carlos Beltran and some of the players about refining. This science stealing Alex was the one according to the report who ask ask employees to install a monitor that could be used right behind the Astros dug out by the way that monitor was located. Did No more than thirty feet where. Aj hinch their manager was standing. No more than thirty feet were. Alex was doing his work bench coach during the course of the game. So basically everybody knew it was there. Everybody I've heard stories in the last forty eight hours about how members of the Astros have reached out to people though the teams comes after the athletic came out with an initial report and tried to assure peers competitors. Hey don't it wasn't that serious that that story was overblown and then when the report came out with the details the other day there is so much anger there are friendships that are fractured. Because of how some members the Astros not only did they cheat back in two thousand seventeen but in the two months that followed the athletic report. They've been lying. Did their peers about what they were doing. Well Chorus reputation like around baseball before this news. He was known as the guy who would hold things together. During a moment of crisis he took over the national team from Puerto Rico leading in the WBZ. He showed such a great way of dealing with players connecting with people at that time the Puerto Rico national team potentially had three shortstop Havi Abayas. Hi as an Francisco Lindor Carlos Correa and among baseball nerds like myself. We were all wondering like how is. How is Alex GonNa work through those Egos you know? How is he going to convince one guy to be the third baseman who got to be shortstop and one got to be the second basement any did it? And when he was the Astros Bench coach in two thousand thousand seventeen men he made such great connections with Alex Bregman at George Springer. They loved Alex Cora the the players loved Alex other people in Baseball. Absolutely love Alex. When the Red Sox officials who put in this position where they have to fire him they talked about that how much that's regard they have for him and I think that's I has been universal leading up to this whole decision? What was he like as a player at the time he was drafted by the dodgers? He was regarded as an excellent prospect but he never really developed into the consistent offensive player that the dodgers thought he was going to be. He carved out this role through a fourteen year career of being a role player but he was smart guy and was always known like Carlos. Beltran is someone who it was really good at ascertaining what the other team was doing with it signs for decades there was an accepted form of stealing signed and that would be the runner standing at second base and figuring out what the catcher signs were there with a lien or with the placement of a hand on a knee they could could convey to the hitter. What the next pitch was? And that's the reputation that he developed early on so he was signed stealing back that he was good. Good at picking up on Pitch Tipping. I'm sure as smart as Alex is. As much experience he had in baseball. He was tremendous. It picked up signs when leading off at second base and potentially relaying back to the hitter so despite that science stealing ability outscore score never really broke through as a player he retired in two thousand eleven as a career to forty three hitter but in twenty sixteen buster he returns to the Big Leagues Leagues as the Astros Bench Coach now Houston is known as extremely progressive forward thinking organization. How much were analytic Atlantic's and video? Apart of course coaching methods it was a lot in terms of what he was responsible for with defensive positioning. I've had conversations with Alex when we would talk about an infielder. Who may be wasn't that good and didn't have that much range and Alex would give me awake and say he'll be fine? We'll put them in the right place. That's part of what he excelled at when he was with the Astros putting a guy in the right spot to make a play a now the Astros under Jeff Luneau always had a rule that reporters could not talk to coaches. They're only organization baseball. That I know of that made that rule. I think in part because they wanted to protect their information. They didn't want the coaches talking about what they were doing. But I think Alex like Brent Strom their pitching coach. Aj hinch. They got a lot of information. A lot of feedback from the front office that they wound up using the culture in the organization has come under a lot of scrutiny really for months now. The commissioner statements singled out. Do you think Cora felt built enabled. Perhaps by the Astros focus on winning at all costs absolutely when you look back at the history of the Astros after Jeff Luneau took over. Boy does this seem inevitable. 'cause I mean they SP- have absolutely skirted right at the edge of of competitive propriety. All the way through when you think about what happened when Jeff took over the team. Not only did they tank. They tanked in a way that no one had ever seen before in baseball. You know in one year I think it was two thousand thousand thirteen. They cut their payroll down to the point. Where only one player on the team at the end of the year was making over a million dollars? One player I know what the commissioner said about the word tanking but I can tell you privately so many executives at that time. We're going to see what they're doing. They are absolutely they're not even pretending to. I have a representative major league product. It was clear from their actions. Then that so long as you wound up winning and you got the number one pick and and you pick Carlos Correa or you wind up with Alex Bregman. That would justify what they did. That same sort of mentality was in play during the stealing stuff

Astros' Carlos Correa Fractured Rib During Massage, Will Miss 4-6 Weeks on IL
"So Carlos Correa fantastic player, of course in major league baseball for the Astros. He's had a few injuries over the last year or so on both having a great season really was. That's the bummer out of this whole thing. We're gonna make light of it and second. But that's true bummer about he's gonna be out for four to six weeks after suffering a fractured rib the shortstop for the Astros. The Astros are perhaps the best team baseball right now. They did lose tonight to the Chicago Cubs. And by the way, scary moments and I mentioned to a line drive hit a fan happened to be reportedly, an infant or small young young child at in the child has since been to the hospital Cup reports. Others just the child is, is a wake is conscious is okay, but you saw the emotion from the players tonight. See very very, very scary situation there in the Astros game. Against the cubs tonight. But earlier in the day, we learned that Carlos Correa is going to go on the I L four to six weeks. And the reason for this is that everybody talking, he says he fractured the rib while getting massages. You're that well getting a massage quote. I'm extremely disappointed about not being on the field. My teammates, I sustain the rib fracture during a massage at my home on Tuesday to sustain an injury and such an unusual way makes it even more frustrating. However, I will still work hard to get back on the field as quickly as possible to help our team achieve our goal of winning another championship now sitting 295 with eleven homers thirty five again, having a fantastic season. And so that's a huge huge blow to the Astros for the next month

She said, yes, Florida state baseball's Mike Borden became the first incidental a coach to two thousand wins. Congrats to BUSTER Posey's old college coach over the weekend. Carlos Correa did Carlos Correa stuff. Here diving stop for a long time. Leap into. Todd gal AT and T sports net. Yeah. Last fall as the playoffs were beginning. Jose altuve to be looked at me and said, I don't know who's gonna win next year in the MVP in the American League. And I said do he said Carlos Correa that guy is going to be incredibly motivated. It was good to see me. Go Cabrera going deep again give a lesson. The two we're going to high fly ball right center field. But justic arc on that. One. Holy mackerel. Second home run of the spring for Miguel Cabrera that's a classic blow and the Tigers. Take a one nothing lead in the second battlement Dickerson's, right w x Y TA. "Now, I look at Carlos Correa as as a guy that just a year ago people were buying in off the twenty seventeen as a potential op. Obviously, you know, maybe even top five talent when all said and done there was that potential there. I definitely agree that if you're looking around especially this year in snake drafts, and you don't wanna play the Carreira price that Corey Seager is a pretty good pivot because I don't think there's that much of a gap right now, I understand both have injury issues. I think last year was a year where you kinda crumpled up and throw it away for Korea. I just think he was never healthy. And you go back and you see at age twenty two what he's doing in two thousand seventeen. It's stunning. And I know it's only one hundred nine games, but it is a stunning number and he is just twenty four. So the pull young thing the problem. I have there is I get that in auctions. I think that's a perfectly good pivot because I think it's easier in a lot of ways to come back from a bad picking a snake draft than it is a bad pick an auction because what happens is when you invest in a player in an auction, and they backfire and you've already committed a fair amount of budget. It has a ripple effect all around your roster. Whereas it's one round isolated. It didn't work out. Okay. I have other rows. Thank you make that up, and we're all on the same page. But all of a sudden if I spend ten fifteen dollars it's going to affect not just one other pick. Maybe it's gonna affect three four five other picks on my roster. And I think that's where I think the young argument auctions comes more into play than in snake dress. Well, it can really have a an effect though. If you have roster cap limits in season two if you put twenty five thirty dollars on a guy that doesn't work out and then moving him or kind of maneuvering around him can be difficult at times I've run into some issues at times because we have a cab and every free agent costs a minimum of ten dollars. When you when you have them. So then all of a sudden, you're kinda trying to finagle things that can be difficult. Just and I want to pin down a little bit more because people here, you know, the Korean young thing, you acknowledge I hope or maybe not that there's a severe talent gap though, right for sure. In baseball talent. Or even pure fantasy baseball talent. Like if I was playing on MLB the show or if I was the manager. Of course, I want Korea over diong. I mean, that's not a question, but like go even look at the projection systems because the projection systems this year all have pretty much except for steamer all have Correa at six hundred played appearances or more. And then go look at the ones for young. They all have him ex- except or well, two of the two of the four have him at over six hundred played parents the other to have them about five fifty the stat lines aren't that different in the real difference is the average? So if you is twenty fifteen to twenty points of average worth one hundred something picks, a hundred twenty banks that I think that's really the question here, and you know, with the there was some improvement in his plate skills. They were brutal and seventeen he kind of just hit through them. Really? Because everything he put the ball on. Put the bat on seeming to be ninety five plus mph hit or even if it an out. It was laced. And so he just kinda hit through the twenty eight percent five percent strikeout..

Yeah, Montgomery of her was was very positive. We also have what came to Almeida has Carlos Correa from the Argentinean consulate, and people may also recognize him as the bad guy in fast by and the bad guy in desperado and the bad guy in. Danger. But here he plays the. He has a brief, but memorable exchange with CJ where he manages to completely. Disarm her, yes. Disarms aroused error. And we get this, you know where she's not paying attention. Then suddenly she looks up and she just she, she sort of comes undone, and I wanted to read this quote from Norman Jewison, who was the brilliant director of in the heat of the night and fiddler on the roof and moonstruck and Dr. What superstar he cast Joakim day Maida in in a movie called only you Mersa toe may Robert Downey junior movie that he made. Here's a quote from him Howard Feuer the casting director said, what games? Not that tall. He's not that handsome, and he was supposed to be playing this Italian lover character and Norman Jewison said, but listen to his voice. There's a macho onus, especially when he lowers it whispers leans across the table and pours you and other glass of wine. He can be extremely intimate with his voice, and I felt like that was the case here. I mean, really, it's the intimacy in that scene is so much because of how he plays it vocally. Yeah, as I sort of rewatch did and thought about it after all these years, there's a real true absurdity to the whole CJ story line. And you know, if you know there's a cabbage on her desk and she people think she wants to adopt a child. And I mostly look at that and think, what was I thinking? But, but but it's it's funny because that's a very real concept in politics. The the notion that you're always trying to put out sort of hard news coming out of the White House so that the White House press corps isn't left to their own mischievous devices. There was a day and I'm sure it was one of the slower Newsday's in the Clinton White House where somebody got a rumor from somewhere that the Clintons were thinking of adopting a child. So it's funny all these writers on the show brand new people joining the show for the first time kept pitching Aaron while you know CJ is, you know, she's kind of getting into her thirties in, you know, she's we see in the in her foreseen in the pilot. She's trying to meet a guy at the gym, and you know she worried about her biological clock and his time for her and Aaron couldn't have been less interested in said somewhere. I think even just in an interview that I read that basically, like these characters live in a world, they construct like they don't want to have a baby. They don't want. They want to be doing this.
