They're sort of a little cookie cutter like if you've seen the rocky films and you've already seen the greed films but they're good i mean they're really well produced and i. I like sylvester. Stallone taking turn as the the trainer you know. I thought that that was a nice little continuity. I still feel like after rocky five that rottweiler. Is it rocky balboa or is it just balboa. I can't remember remember. It's the one where rocky steps into the ring one more time as an old man that movie is so good like you could watch the first rocky and rocky balboa and have this beautiful poignant book ending of the young fighter's stepping into the ring and the old gunslinger writing off into the sunset just really gorgeous just but we're not going to turn this into a movie podcast. I already did a movie podcast and it wasn't as successful as i wanted it to be. <hes> <hes> do do to to get out of the way here okay so moving right along. It's in the title. We have to talk about this. Sorry kind of froze there for a second 'cause i. I wasn't quite sure how to just start the conversation on this one but just to jump in. I have a philosophical problem with samsung's advertising and p._r. It's one one of the things that sucked a lot of the fun out of covering a brand that i was a passionate fan of during the note four in the galaxy active days was seeing them continue tin you to lean on sort of the freshman or the plucky upstart tactic of mocking their arrival apple and i don't think that the company has ever grown up out of that tactic because it works six trash talking on the internet and juvenile lowest common denominator picking fights and punching up but you're really punching down because samsung is the number one samsung still seems to enjoy this is part of their commentary even after they've had to pull videos because they've basically we copied apple's move almost every single time <hes> you know getting rid of the headphone jack well now. They've pulled their videos talking about headphone. Jacks <hes> <hes> getting rid of replaceable batteries. Oh we're gonna make fun of the iphone for not letting you swap your battery. Oh we're going to do that okay. Pull those videos and we'll pretend that that's never been anything. We've made fun of apple for so one of the most obnoxious technological feuds. It's that takes place in trying to communicate with people in the twenty first century is i message and how when you send someone in an i message. It's a certain color but if you're not in i message comes in as a different color and apple breaks the interoperability of messaging services because they want. They only want you to be able to speak iphone. They don't want you to have to worry about you. Know speaking broke doc you know i don't i don't speak broke because i have an iphone so apple's policy. Let's see with. I message has actually been pretty successful. I know people who will likely continue sticking with apple's ecosystem just because it's painful to sort of separate yourself from a service like i message the lock in works so how should a company go about out trying to combat that market perception of iphone users popular rising something like that. It's one of the few critical advantages that users can can kind of point to is android. Messaging is really messy increasingly enjoying do oh. My daughter loves duo sending little voice a video messages to people but it still doesn't quite make up for the power house. Which is i i message and facetime so samsung solution unsurprisingly. Let's find ways that we can empower our..

It turns out, but she was pardoned by President Trump because Kanye west and Kim Kardashian lobby. It is that simple and Kanye west has been pushing hard for criminal Justice reform. So it's Kim Kardashian and President Trump is about to overrule Jeff Sessions on criminal Justice reform in the same way, largely because of Connie's lobbying so Conde by extending a hand actually received a hand in return. Which is why you saw that name from predator going day of the of the Arnold Schwarzenegger, arm and the Apollo creed arm. You know, the the Carl weathers arm locked in the the Muslim embraced. That's what you saw yesterday at the White House. So it was wild. I mean, let's not pretend that this was a meeting of brilliant minds on serious issues. It was Konya west and Donald Trump in the Oval Office in a scene directly out of any operas. He, but was it important for the culture that there be somebody in a prominent position to say. Yeah, I'm allowed to think for myself. Yeah. That's that's important stuffs. Anyway, Khania goes to the White House, and again, I don't like celebrity politics. "So it's it's kind of funny now that, oh my God. Can you give them a hug? Everybody loved Donald Trump until the guy ran for president in two thousand sixteen. At which point everybody hated Donald Trump, but here's Conway, breaking the ultimate taboo and making physical contact in the flesh with Donald J Trump. But I love this guy right here. I love this guy right here. There it is. There's the Carl weathers Arnold Schwarzenegger hand grip just amazing. And then you actually had some pretty good political comment. So we'll do the good and then we'll get to, you know, the we're. So he so he had some good political comments about racism. What he said is basically, you can't use racism as an excuse for failing in America anymore. Instead, maybe we ought to think about how we actually better the country seems pretty fair to me. And this is coming from a guy who, as I understand it grew up with a single mom in poverty area and then made himself a billionaire. So even though I don't like rap and I'm not a fan of Connie's music, his stories are pretty American story. It's pretty amazing American story, here's kind you talking about racism. A lot of times it's just the overall lack of reparations that we any given point. We say on this is this is this is this is racist liberal would try to control a black person through the concept of racism because they know that we are very proud of Mosul people. So when I on my Trump to like someone that's liberal, they'll say, oh, but he's. Racist, you think racist. Okay. Control me. Visible world. Yes, yet slow Clapper county. And this is the point the point that he's actually making here does not require to be all that learned in politics when he says that racism is very often used by political actors in order to achieve a particular result in order to manipulate people that is certainly true. That is certainly true. So well done Connie there and then Konya mid, everyone's had explode when he defended the second amendment which is just bad ass. Here's Connie do in that debate about the second amendment going on. The problem is people goods, illegal, guns, the problem, not not not legal guns. We have the right to bear arms. Oh no, all of their heads just exploded, Connie eight actually saying the truth constitutionally about the second amendment. Now, listen, as I say before, anytime you get in bed with celebrity, you should expect that somebody's gonna get screwed. And the fact is that something could happen with Conway as a personality that could be damaging to. All the points that he's making here, but take it and face value for what it is today. He is saying some things that need to be said. And when you hear an argument, you really, instead of I considering the source, may I want to consider the validity of the argument, the argument that Connie is making there is exactly right now, as I say, live by the Konya die by the Konya and I'll in a second how the die by the Konya half of this worth and then we'll get to the media coverage, which is the real story. The media coverage of this meeting is a much bigger story than Connie actually visiting the White House. He's been to the White House before I believe. I mean, he he went there when Obama was president actually. So it's not a giant shock, but we'll talk in a second about the media coverage first. Let's talk about how you make your business more efficient. One way that you can make your business more efficient is by putting it on legally solid footing. You know the time is money. It is true, especially when you run your own business, but legal takes a lot of time and it takes a lot of money, which is why you need to turn to legalzoom over the last seventeen years, more than a million Americans have used legal zoom to help launch their businesses. But that is only the beginning legalzoom also now has a network of in. Independent attorneys and tax professionals. They can provide you with the advice you need to get through.

"Time to check out those weekend movies here on a Friday with Kevin car fat guys at the movies guy. And kevin. What are we got? Well, the big one this week that is opening wide is the predator. Yeah. It's the latest predator movie directed by Shane black who didn't movies like iron man three and the nice guys and kiss kiss bang bang was actually also in the original predator. And this film takes place in modern day where the predator has crash landed or one of the predators has crash landed on earth, and the sort of this ragtag group of military guys are going after him. Being chased by somebody to to study them. And they think of the predator might be altering themselves in order to be better hunters. It's an action movie. But it also has elements of comedy that would speak to you. Shane black. Does does doesn't really do serious type movies decent action at times? The problem is. It's just doesn't have the same spark a lot of it is the stars in the movie aren't quite the same. You don't have Arnold Schwarzenegger. Carl weathers who have this other guy who I've never heard of. I guess he was in some TV shows, and he doesn't quite hold the interest. As as I I wish it would have it's nice to see the predator back. But it's still feel like a a movie that doesn't even quite rise to the level of predator too. With Danny Glover. So what else do we have? There's a couple of other movies that are opening wide. I didn't get a chance to see one of them's white bread. White boy Rick which had a conflicting screening with the predator. And that one tells the story of a kidney eighties in Detroit, kind of becoming this this this this crime Lord a bit of a involved in the gangs, but also had to turn into an informant and there's another one called a simple favor directed by Paul Fagan is best known for doing comedy a little bit more of a mystery thriller starring Anna Kendrick and Blake lively as a e unlikely pair of friends one of them goes missing. And the other one has to sorta answer what she knows about it. There's also a couple of smaller things in. Going into wider release. One of them's Lizzy, Kristen Stewart. She's hot love her. Kristen Stewart and the khloe seventy eight tells the story of Lizzie Borden, a nice little family drama. I guess you could say the murderer. It's a real slow burn. But once they finally get to the ax, murdering it's kind of interesting. Yes. That's when it always gets interesting. Kevin. Well, it sounds good. Kevin car fat guys at the movies dot com. Check them out there. And we'll talk to you later. All right. Sounds good. We'll talk later this weekend. Kevin have a great weekend for sure meanwhile, want to go to the phones here in Alexandria Jeff in Seminole. He's got a comment to make here this morning, and Jeff what's on your mind. This morning. Hey. Bring up something we're dealing with this this hurricane and everything is catastrophic catastrophic that her study as on the rush show, they did a study from the nineteen thirty two now versions it actually decrease in string that actually hit the United States in the nineteen thirties the average category with three point two. Now, we're down to two point four the average strength size and hit the the hit land. I just thought that was pretty interesting for the client people out there. Who are trying to you know, wait public opinion, either man-made or Trump made on the two, and you know, what I was gonna say I completely understand that rationale. But I don't understand why the left in general is even bringing that up right now. I mean, really right now, there's one focus it should be making sure the people of of the Carolinas. These coast of this country are safe for the next couple of days and weeks. Yeah. Oh, I agree. A hundred percent guy. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Content beating of the drum that eventually gets drowned out by by the truth. And here's a guy three thousand Puerto Rico. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. The media was down there guys three thousand people dead in Puerto Rico from that song. Can you? Imagine the pictures and the coverage that would've got. Yep. Right. And it's over at. Thank you for the call, Jeff Jack. He's right. He's absolutely right. And that's why when the media did bring that up I really would like to see in those moments, and this is where I'd like to see President Trump evolve. Just leave it alone. You don't say anything. Yeah. It's absurd. He's got to get some people. They can monitor what he says. I mean, he's got to say, okay. You guys check this out to do it or not and stop them. And apparently, nobody does no filter. But I mean, he's right on that. It doesn't matter. The we know that most people know that that's the truth when you come out there and you start to defendant you start throwing numbers out there. When really like I mentioned, the the focus right now should be on hurricane Florence. You've you've fed into their hands to it. I thought that last night when I saw it on Twitter. Just leave it alone, leave it alone. And that's something. I'd hope he evolves and learns from in the future. We'll see. Yeah. Well, let's see if that indeed takes place, and Jeff is set me up with a thing. Here is a mess somewhere. Oh, there we go. That's what I was looking for half a second. Hey, we got an explanation from George Carlin. Why Washington Post is blaming President Trump for Florence and we'll get around to that coming up here in a couple of minutes..

"In keeping with the spirit of that handshake between Carl weathers and and and Arnold Schwarzenegger where they shook and Dillard. Yes, and it's a ten second close up on both of their biceps. I think that movie minute like thirty straight minutes of that guy just shooting the jungle. Are we still going to. Stomp on it every time. Why explain it to it? Why does it have? Why do we have this connection with this damn stupid movie? Here's why. Here's why. Here's what here's here's my pop psychology, the predator, the first predator, the original predator by the way is what is what they call it will be called the business up. Lock movie old blocked with the whole movie takes place on the block. In this case, the block is a jungle. This is great kind of cost of jungle, but this is cost to feel like these, they're they're millions of miles away from civilization. They can't get out. The other thing is John McCain. By the way we gotta remember this kind of direct to die hard, the tension that he builds in the movie. It's so good, especially for someone like I was sixteen when the movie came out fifteen or sixteen. And David parlance out, and it felt somehow taboo and jokes were kinda racy raunchy and the and the gore was, I think, commensurate to the jokes. So that's part of what holds it for me. The other thing that I that someone mentioned that I never realized before is on it's the only movie I've ever seen like, I'm a huge commando fan, love commando, but Arnold Schwarzenegger's. He's winking incessantly throughout commando. There's never moment commander where you think he you think John matrix is going to die. But in with Dutch, he's actually scared when he meets that he meets the predator. He scared like you don't ever see like running away from anything coming out of his head total recall. He's almost feel..

"It doesn't exist illion puppet that comes out of the stomach, all it. So clearly this this funding mismanaged budget. This movie, why probably got her guide. Never made another movie, literally shut it down before the final scene was over. There was some reason why I thought they shot the movie in the reshoot the movie Hans solo thing, where they shot a lot of the movie, and then they had the region it for. This. The only reason I think they run out of money like. Apparently they didn't even film that lasts. What you have to do is a director in that situation. Also fun fact, two months before this predator released. Oh, on a budget of fifteen million dollars. Oh shit. Schwarzenegger was a huge star time. Time in that movie. This was his prime. Yeah, Carl weathers was in that fucking movie like you have all this competition. This movie is not doesn't have a chance just a big y that I just don't understand what I saw that. Like the biggest surprise to me after I watch movies and went and looked up the budget. Yeah. And I was like, yeah, I thought this movie was like twelve million. The had, obviously it's a. Too much money in it. You know, it's better if you have a small budget because you got to force yourself to be more creative and they may be just had so much that they didn't budget this thing properly. More money because I can't think if I'm eating just ham brought in from California. Okay. One of my favorite things. This entire research process was the fact that Lundgren somehow maneuvered himself, creative control where he was like, I have three cuts to make my vocal cuts for the movie. It's all here's worried about, and I have some kind of creative input on the final cut. I can. The apparently the register has been quoted as saying. Soon as I heard dolph deliver delivers Lee, I you lines. I knew I needed to hire an actor. Deliver these, and then they ran out of money and they ran out of time because London was like, no, I can do this. Let me record another one. Fuck it. We'll go with the first ones. He was like book just give me three tries, and they were just like, yeah, did you're gonna blow all three of them will fucking sign that contract, whatever. And then they were like, yeah, we don't have money for another guy. You're going with him. Fuck. I think that's why they cut around overseen so hard. Right? Like, yeah. Editing again, the scene where he's talking to Jill leads the big disgust..
