"Lowry to litter. Hugh listening to the Denny parking show. Leonard has had to all time playoff moments this year. You're listening to the show. My name is carissa Harrison filling in for Dany go ahead and call up eight five five two one two four two two seven are CBS. Sports radio toll free line. We'll get to the calls coming up in just a little bit. My name is Karen Harrison filling in for Danny Parkin's. Go ahead and follow me on Twitter at C dot Harrison. If you want to interact with the show, there, you can also interact with the show on the phone line. Again, that number is eight five five two one two four two two seven Leonard has had to all time moments this postseason. The first one was the game. Seven shot against the Philadelphia, seventy Sixers no player in the history of the NBA, not one has ever ended a series in game seven on a game winning shot. Think about that in the history of the NBA, quiet Leonard was the first one that shot the all time moment where the ball bounces and bounces. Eventually drops was the first time that it ever happened the history of the NBA, all time moment. Alltime moment. And the donkey had yesterday on yon onto the Koumba was just fantastic. I mean Kyle Lowry comes down the court, it was LeBron esque. Lebron's first game. We do that past Ricky Davis. This was actually more. Impressive was in traffic calorie comes down the court turns around Coa has a full head of steam goes up with the left yowl all over Jaanus, an incredible moment, Kawai. You gotta give me a little something on the end. Give me a little some some he had a reaction like a baseball player. No to stone, face quiet stole Cole. No laugh no smile. No screaming. No, nothing Drake was more excited about the moment. Kawai Drake didn't do nothing in that moment co I give me something. Let's go back to the fall lines. Andrew from Nova Scotia called up good. Andrew. Yeah. The best player of all time, the argument that Jordan went to six and one six if you're using a football analogy on the majority of people would say the Brady greatest of all time. Even though Montana went to four one four I would go with the Braun because not because of the ones that he had in Miami and Cleveland after that. But if you go back to seven when he took a team to the finals that had no Williams journalistic office is their second third best players that was probably the more impresses part of his career, even though he got swept in the finals, but taking a team like that to the finals. Is more impressive and all the compliments that he's had sim said to me, make him the overall best player even though it's impossible to compare generational players from time to over one era another era. It's just I think he accomplished. More statistically and going to as many finals, even though he hasn't won them all. I mean Jordan had Kerr Pippen and Rodman for most of his career as well. So the triplets as long in effect long before LeBron brought it to so beach. I appreciate the phone call. That was Andrew in Nova Scotia. I just don't think that LeBron has a resume argument like in his point of Joe Montana being perfect is Super Bowls. He also only went to four Brady's been two nine one six. So Brady's been twice as many as you've been in has more rings than you have that different kind of argument here. Lebron has more finals appearances but has half the rings and has lost more than even more than he's one. That's the, that's a different argument to me. I'm willing to go the Bronco. Kobe I think LeBron is a better basketball player. Kobe bryant. I'm not willing to go the Brown over Mike. And I love LeBron. I don't think the arguments there you wanna have a skill level debate. We can have that debate. You can definitely make an argument for LeBron skill level higher. The Michael Jordan, terms of playing basketball. There's no argument when it comes to resume as much as I would want there to be as much as I would enjoy that conversation. He's just lost too many finals. Lost too many finals missed the playoffs this year. I don't think he wins another one. I just don't know if LeBron can get back into that conversation. Let's go back to the phone line. Roger and Oklahoma. You call them. Roger. And what's going on, man? So I don't know if you heard the one comparison quiet, his, Michael Jordan, Scottie, Pippen's child and his raised by Tim Duncan, Tim Dunkin's step. And I think he is. I mean he he's selling. I think if he wins us he's gonna go down. He's super matches and every wants to go, but the greatest, I've got back, Katie and what the guy was saying earlier. I hate you know, I'm a fan and Yano we gave him crap. But for him gone warriors the worst at win the championship that year I know we had them down three to one. He went to the team. They weren't all that. But they wa- still LeBron the finals Brown fan. Like you say he's championships. Around. I mean, it's, it's whatever you other caller said to be the best, you know, you got beat the best and we look back through time the pistons are as people acres, you know, have to three peat you have the Spurs get you had Boston come together to win all the way up to the Bronx. Yes, took a team up there got swept and their seven. But then he goes Miami on that, but. Another thing, real quick. Anthony Davis stain with the pelicans because ions coming rookies come in his first year, taking any team or been able to take any team to the finals. So I can't pick been there for seven years. I think he deserves to go, where he wants to go. Shut out. The shack though is one of the greatest players two thousand two thousand three most on big man and can't shoot but well, I'll let you have a great. I enjoy listening. I appreciate it. Roger, thanks for calling from Oklahoma. When it comes to Anthony Davis. I, I'm only Anthony Davis aside here. You've done everything you can to try to make it work in New Orleans. And for whatever reason they have been unable to consistently to put the talent around you to really give yourself a chance to compete, sometimes it's just too little too late in Zion is a great piece. What if your New Orleans, you've got to be thinking Anthony Davis is in the past in Zion is our future in Anthony Davis is the building block to help us build around Zayn Williamson, which is our future. You got three probably really good options. Maybe four, you can train up to the Lakers, if you like their pieces, you get the fourth overall pick, you can put them with how coups Ma Lonzo ball, Brandon Ingram, you take your pick on who you won't and you can probably get two of those three players and the fourth overall pick. Which is a good starting point. Four Zion Williamson's career. Training of the Knicks. You, you get the third overall pick, you probably get Kevin Knox. You probably get Mitchell Robinson. Not a bad package. A really good pass. I like Kevin about. I think having a good player great play. I think it'd be a good wing player. He'll he'll play in the league for eight to twelve years. He'll be a nice piece staff. Do the overall pick you compare with RJ RJ? Barry will be available at three. Obviously, if you're New Orleans, you take Zion at one. I think Memphis has made it clear they're going to draft John marine at two. If you're New Orleans, you then trade, Anthony Davis for the third overall, pick in a package, and then you take RJ Bayard and you put Zion with his college roommate noses game too great players from do. That's a really good building block. Now, you'll take your lumps because you got to young is nineteen trying to figure themselves out in the NBA, but you'll be very similar to what Sacramento is right now, you very similar to what Denver was different to make the playoffs last year. But you got Yokich you got Jamal Murray. You've got some other pieces you made a run and you're poised to make another run next year with. Some different things. You train them to the Celtics, if you want. You can get something valuable you can get paid them. You can get Jaylen Brown. Draft picks on the same. But you can get if you wanna trade, Anthony Davis. But that's what you've got to be thinking of your New Orleans AD was the past, he's not gonna resign here, long-term get the most while, you can't and get out while the getting is good. And the getting is good right now. You can have the third pick you're gonna have the fourth pick, you can have Jason Tatum, you can kind of set your wish your wishes. And I don't know Philadelphia's interested in getting involved and maybe doing something with Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid. Maybe I'm just throwing it out there. I don't think it's going to happen. But they're one of the only other teams that has enough players picks stars young is that you could really, really make it interesting. Thank you so much listening is The Danny Parker show. "Think about that now that you've gone through it. This is about, as I mean. I know you can't see the video Malaysia Andrews, as Jaanus a question Janas. Here's the question, just leaves. Now there's a little bit of backstory. You gotta give context to it Malaysia Andrews, literally right after the game tweeted out a report that yon is thinking about leaving, if they don't make the finals next season. Now you gotta give credit. She stood up. She asked her question during the press conference and Janas walked up. I don't have any problem with it. Like we if you do this job long enough, you're gonna ask an athlete a question that they don't like. And they don't want to answer. You might ask me a question. I don't wanna answer. That's your choice, your prerogative. I don't have any issue with it. He didn't say anything derogatory didn't curse it. The lady you asked me a question. I don't want to answer cool. I don't have any issue with it. But we can't admit if this was LeBron and he did this it'd be a big deal. Can you imagine if Durant did that if Kevin Durant was asked the question and just left during the middle of it goodness, it will lead every single sports conversation is what it would do every single sports conversation would be led with Kevin Durant is soft they lost. And he didn't want to answer questions now Jaanus isn't probably going to get that. But that's it. Really fun show today. I'm really really excited about the NBA finals really excited about the NBA finals. I, there's a lot of interesting storylines who gonna guard house kala gonna perform in the finals win will Kevin Durant return when we'll DeMarcus cousins return in this the warriors are on the brink of doing something that not many basketball teams are professional teams ever get to do. We're talking four and five if they win this four in five and the one, they lost, I think they win Draymond green doesn't get to spend now they lost. And they don't wanna game six in game seven but Golden State is knocking on the door of doing something. I'm talking a Bill Russell Celtics category. Thank you so much listening. "This is utterly night's show, once again, here's Bill excited said, all right. Well, Bill Simonson is off today. I am in for him. Name is carissa Harrison. Follow me on Twitter at C dot Harrison. I will actually be on CBS sports radio tomorrow at the exact same time. So from nine to one central ten to two on the east coast. If you want to hear my smooth silky voice, again tomorrow night, you can do the exact same thing. We've got some phone lines. I don't have a whole lot of time. Let's try to get to as many phone calls as we can. I also want to get to the final call. I want to play for you is huge Dunkin this game. And I want to tell you what Kawai had to say after the game. Let's go to the phone line, Roger in Oklahoma. You call up to CBS sports radio at Roger. What's going on in the show? I appreciate it. Thank you. Hey, man. So I'm listening. And, and I know quite a great player. I'm thunder fan. I was like for Spain with for that. I believe he'll be able to walk somebody down and Golden State Steph or somebody, I think there's going to be able to have a chance. Now, I think what state when they play by Kerr's playbook. And they, they run the style with K D. He's just such a Mosser. He's hard to guard. I think they're going to need to come back to, to actually win the series. I think Toronto they stepped up in trial. We don't we're not ignorant about trauma basketball. We just know you have it any part, stop lebrons. You don't as straight finals. That was Roger and Oklahoma. He makes a good point when it came to it. I mean LeBron was just the biggest detriment to Toronto having a chance I am going to be very curious to see what the plan is on a Hawaii is going to guard. Maybe he's more on clay then on Steph to kind of preserve a little bit of his energy for the offense of. And then late in ballgames. He kind of goes up against stuff, because if you're telling me that the responsibility for Colli, Leonard is going to be chased Steph curry around the court on defense, and then turn around and then have to score twenty five thirty points to give you a chance to win. That's just a very difficult proposition, I think, to ask of anyone, especially someone that has the offense of burden that Kawhi Leonard does. Let's give the phone lines move in Gerald in Houston. You call up go at Gerald. Hello. How are you doing? Always happened to speak something before Michael Jordan, one Detroit in Boston shut him down, and he played five or six years before you wanna championship. So before you dismiss James hardened remember this, that great players have always had other great players blocking their winning games. And when you say degrade team, Golden State is a good team. But when you take the Philadelphia seventy Sixers hit Bobby, Joe do deserve it. And one of the greatest players have been Moses Malone. They would've beat go to stay because Golden State does not make every shot and like Moses say, UK scoreless, you have the ball. And so I think before you dismiss other teams and say the other great players like Bill Russell and Chamberlain. You dismiss us as though they couldn't play it. They could play this lead in today's world. It wouldn't make a difference before you say how great display is. Don't dismiss the players who came before them. Thank you very much. I appreciate the phone call, Gerald. He's my favorite caller. He always you always shows love to the older guys. I'm not disrespecting the, the old school guys. I'm just saying that incident game if we're playing today's rule. You're not beating Golden State, like say what you want. I know math enough to know that three is more than two and their trading their three points for two points all the time, and you can't keep up in which the frequency in which Golden State can shoot. And that's the difference. Is that now with analytics we've just seen that? If you go back and look at numbers, let me pull up one number really quickly. I know the Gerald he always appreciates these kind of numbers. I want to tell you guys how many threes Larry Bird took an season. So the most threes that Larry Bird ever took in a season because Larry Bird, great three point shooter just goes to show, you, the evolution of basketball, the most threes that, that Larry Bird ever took an season was two hundred thirty seven seems like a lot. You know, two hundred and thirty seven threes over the course of eighty two games. That seems like a lot of threes. I'm going to show you how much basketball has changed if that's the number two hundred thirty seven the most he ever shot to huge. Number big number for somebody huge number the most Steph is taken his career. In one season is eight hundred eighty six Mam basketball has just changed drastically that Golden State, they are just taking three while you're taking too. And they're going to bet on their ability to just hit more threes in your team is going to make and so far it has been a very winning proposition. Let's keep it moving James in Atlanta. You call in the CBS sports radio. Glad james. Yeah. A first time call. How you doing? Good show. I appreciate it. Thank you. Good. I just wanted to get just took the words right out of my mouth and my question was, and this is a Fank. They're very, very few team that you can look at the history and the numbers and the history and the stats and everything. Get made the NBA championship that has won for the first time that any time they have shown for the first time I've never made it and you just touched porn where he's threes. They can shoot Klay Thompson. Stefan, Terry's going to be a monster to handle. I it's to be hard to end. Him and Toronto. They can put a body in quite good. He's great. But Dan so much firepower man, you're talking about. Serious serious power year. And they haven't even turned it up and nuts like I've seen doing all year. So as one to share that those who things but, you know, ABC give Toronto maybe one one game. To it the most but love in. It's opening six I appreciate the phone call. That was James in Atlanta, Toronto, a little bit of credit when it comes to the play-off experience because you had a couple of guys who have been there before quals played in the finals before he has a finals. MVP. Markelle solve played him big time basketball games. Dany green has an NBA championship. That's a Rondo is a little bit different than your typical team who hasn't been there before, like Kyle Lowry. Is there for the first time this is not Kawais first rodeo, this is not Danny Green's first rodeo guys have been around a while. I certainly think that was an issue for Milwaukee. I'm looking at Milwaukee and the first time that, you know, Janas he's big time games, and Eric Bledsoe's plannings, big time, games, and Chris Middleton. I think that was a big deal. I don't know if experienced search of Bacchus played in the finals before I don't know, if lack of experience is going to be the big of a deal for the raptors maybe as much as people think William laugh phone call the night on this one. Go ahead will. Thanks. No problem. Thank you. Yeah, I wanna see Toronto win. And I think they don't have over even they could if they make it a seven game series. But going statesman said at home for ten days. Ten days rest. And he looked tired tonight. You know, I don't think I don't see how he's going to be able to, to carry on to carry on this as what he's already looking tired night, and going to stay home rested for ten days. Going state probably going to get them in about five. Just for the for the fatigue factor alone. No, I appreciate the phone call. I was William and Kentucky. I'm you're right. I mean, ten days is a big difference. I think you've got gotta give Toronto a little credit here. You one didn't have to deal with the game. Seven didn't have to deal with travel. Plus you host game one so rest tomorrow rest Monday rest Tuesday. Wrestlers are sees me Wednesday and then game on Thursday night now it's not ten you'll get four though you get four games to rest. It's the NBA finals plan basketball's night practice is going to be grueling, or strenuous, or anything of that nature. I think you're going to be fine. But I it it's going to be a very interesting how it comes out. I think a lot of times we have a belief of man to Golden State. Get too much rest. What would it have been better for them to win and game five or game six to kind of go to states been doing this for a very long time? They've played in these games. They played on quick turnarounds. They've had rest. I mean I'm not worried about Golden State. I think the four days to do it is going to give Toronto, a chance that no, you can't catch up with the ten days rest, but the four days rest, I think, is going to be enough. All right. So before I get out of here, I wanna play for you guys. What had to say? And Janas had to say let's start with the winning team he was asked about potentially being the best player in the. NBA massage just said you're the best player to league and he plays into on. Oh, what it feel like to hear that said about you. How do you feel you've established yourself and position during this playoff run? I mean I don't really judge my you know game like that. I'm more of a team team aspects. When my team is doing just wanna win on on care about being best player, I want to be the best team always said that, you know, just before the season when we made the trade messiah felt that way about me, he told me how you feel and why he made the trade and you know, turning out. Well, now me we're gonna find those we're not done yet. You know what I would love? I don't know who can do this CBS Bleacher report. Sb nation. I would love to know what movies make collide Leonard laugh. Like I love to have you do that. Like mystery science theater. I love to do that with Kawhi Leonard watching Friday and just see, like what parts he thinks are funny. What parts? He doesn't think are funny thing I could see Kuwiat Leonard like maybe laughing one time during coming to America. He kind of has that vibe to me just nothing. Nothing is amusing to him. Nothing makes them laugh. Nothing makes them smile like I would love to know his favorite comedies. Let's keep it moving Jaanus. They got kind of contentious during his press game or post game conference. He walked out today. Malinke.

What would it have been better for them to win and game five or game six to kind of go to state's been doing this for a very long time? They've played in these games. They played on quick turnaround. They've had rest. I mean I'm not worried about Golden State. I think the four days to do it is going to give Toronto, a chance that no, you can't catch up with the ten days rest, but the four days rest, I think, is going to be enough. All right. So before I get out of here, I wanna play for you guys had to say and Janas had to say, let's start with the winning team he was asked about potentially being the best player in the. NBA said you're the best player to league in place in Toronto. What is it like the here that said about you? Do you feel you stab yourself and position playoff? Run. I mean I don't really judge my game like that. I'm more of a team team aspects with my team is going just wanna win on care about being best player. I want to be the best team always said that, you know, just before the season when we made the trade messiah felt that way about me. You told me why he made the trade and you know, turning out. Well, now we're gonna find those we not done yet. You know what I would love? I don't know who can do this CBS Bleacher report. Sb nation. I would love to know what movies may collide Leonard laugh. Like I love to have do that, like mystery science theater. I love to do that with Kawhi Leonard watching Friday and just see, like what parts he thinks are funny. What parts? He doesn't think or funny, I could see, like maybe laughing one time during coming to America. Kinda has that vibe to me just nothing. Nothing is amusing to him. Nothing makes them laugh. Nothing. Makes them smile. I would love to know his favorite comedies. Let's keep it moving Jaanus. They got kind of contentious during his press game or post game conference. He walked out today. Malinche Andrews ESPN for both of you guys. I'm curious, you guys have talked a lot about how at this point, you know, sometimes it takes experience. I'm wondering if you have that experience, if you see more validity to that point, or what you.

"For the holiday weekend. I am in. My name is carissa Harrison. I'm filling in for you. Guys, very happy to be here. Go ahead and follow me on Twitter at C dot Harrison. We are talking NBA playoffs. I'm fired up. You're fired up. Everybody's fired up Toronto is fine. If you have not seen the videos, basically the scene in Toronto, Canada, right now is people standing on top of cars in the streets listening to drink, but seemingly, what's going on in Toronto right now. There's no other way to describe it. There are thousands upon thousands of people in the streets. They are standing on top of buildings and structures. Listening to drink it, it looks amazing on the videos. We got open phone lines. Man, if you want to call up and call eight five five two one two four two two seven we are talking NBA play-offs tomorrow at two eastern and eleven Pacific is a conference USA showdown on the diamond is too. Teams battle it out for an automatic bid to the NC, double A division, one basket are skinny baseball championship as well over see who will be one step closer to Omaha on CBS sports network basketball in the brain here tomorrow to o'clock eastern eleven Pacific the conference USA showdown as we get closer and closer to the college World Series. Check that out on CBS sports network. Thanks so much for listening, again, is the Saturday night. Huge show Bill Simonson he's off. My name is carissa Harrison. Follow me on Twitter at cdot Harrison. You guys are fired up. I'm fired up. Let's go to Jamie in Toronto Jamie. First off, congrats me. I, I was talking to your screen, and I was just gonna say, you know. The American broadcasters. You know, he could do it when it comes to raptor basketball, it'd be like, different. This is an amazing amazing basketball, and I'm gonna call the right here. We're gonna we're gonna go over six. I'm going to tell you why. Because it's the family. Playing together, we're chance or leaders and three quarters of the United States. The rapper side. It's gotta lose. We're going to beat the bit six. That was Jamie Toronto. I appreciate the phone call. I love the enthusiasm. We need more people from Toronto calling in, if you're a Toronto, if you can, you know, step away. I know it's a little loud where you are. If you stay on top of cars and houses, and doing all that stuff, if you wanna call it, I got a phone line for eight five five two one two four two two seven. I, I don't think that we're ignorant when it comes to rafters basketball. I think we just don't believe in you. Like I said, Jay z line, we don't believe you. You need more people. I just don't believe it would Toronto. And I'll be the first to admit I thought the bucks were getting the raptors smooth out of here. Specially after they got down to the raptors got down to I was thinking. All right. Bucks. Go in one of these games. One of them games with the double overtime game through the way. Hey, Rattlers go back. Excuse me bucks. Go back up back to Milwaukee up three one. They win this in five swish swish and we go into sizzlers. That's what I thought it was going to be. I was wrong. I doubt it. I doubt at Kawai, and I've got to blame myself on that Kawais probably better than I thought. And I had the utmost respect for Colli. I know at least in the series he was gonna play that much better than Yoenis. I that was the huge difference in the series. We talk about Bledsoe. We can talk about Danny green, and we can talk about Marcus. Saw it came down to a very simple collide Leonard was consistent and Jaanus wasn't that's the difference like the great players even when you know jump shots aren't falling. You can't do certain things kids still have a great impact on the game. Colli was doing everything Kawais garden Yoenis co is get rebounds. I mean today, Leonard twenty seven points, seventeen rebounds, seven assists was doing everything. Just played a fantastic game today. He played like the best player in the world today. Like me and play basketball is about who can elevate their play and who can deal with the pressure. And Janas didn't come off to me somebody in game three and game four that can handle the pressure. He didn't. Now it's early in your career twenty four no one saying that's defining. But that's how it came off to me. It came up to me like, Janas was not ready for the moment it came up to me like the crowd gotten Janas his head that Drake gotten his head. And he just wasn't the same in game three and game four. He didn't play that bad today. But he got outlay by Kawai like sometimes may sports are simple. And we make it much more difficult that needs to be the best player on the raptors was a lot better than the best player on the bucks. So the raptors won the series. Let's go back to Toronto guy in Toronto. Caught up CBS sports radio. Glad guy. Hey g. It's okay. I mean coy Leonard by far is the best two way player in the NBA despite what buddy from Wisconsin. Thanks. I mean you look at three you know he's putting up the points. He lighten it up. Gene five what happens triple team? And I'm so what does he do? He sets a career high in assists, June six teen struggling on the boards. He ends up with seventeen or e balance to lead everyone the guy by far even close right now. And I can't believe the disrespect these people from Wisconsin. I mean guys come on. You guys got played. This is the best defensive team in the NBA, I really think anyone who takes Golden State and four or five is totally not watching everything here. I mean come on the clippers took two goons from the warriors wished Durant. You're telling us that the rafters won't be able to win at least two games all the home court advantage. I it's not an easy place to play. I get, you know, get the experience factor with with the warriors. You know what if we can contain either courier or or, or Thomson, we're going to get other other points from Draymond green and loonie, like, come on? We got a shot. Now. I appreciate the phone call. I mean you talk about two way player. These are the only people, I think that can argue the best players in the world. I'll give you my list. He's the only people, I think, in argue that they are the best player in the world basketball, Kevin Durant has an argument now the argument against Kevin Durant would be win. Lebron left his team. I saw what happened when you left your team. I've seen what happened. They don't seem to need you. I'm not saying that he's not a perk or nice plus to have. He's not an assessing. I think we're gonna agree with that. I think K D would say that he's not a necessity on their team. So. Durant, a great player. We agree. If you took Hawaii off this raptors team, then the seven seed in the west are these the seven seed. They're like the five seed gets a little bit more credit that the five Stephen no quiet, but they are one finals without Kawhi. They didn't need you. So I don't know what the argument that Katy has. Steph has an argument of being the best player in the world. What he's doing right now. What he was doing before Kevin Durant. I think it's clear that Steph has taken eighty five percent of himself to live with the Kevin Durant, that you gotta give to rain, his own space to flourish. You gotta let them spread his wings a little bit. He's diminished himself in his greatness, a little bit for the betterment of everybody and that's the culture in Golden State. I'm always going to have LeBron in that conversation. I mean as long as LeBron's, not Drew's age, I'm going to have LeBron in the conversation greatest player of all time now, he may be doesn't have the same argument that all these other guys do, but I just got to put LeBron there. Because he's LeBron James Kawhi Leonard, if you think he's the best two way player in the world. Very w other ways to play basketball. There's two offense defensively. Anka, why certainly has the argument any any, he just played Jaanus the MVP the NBA. Be harnessed winning MVP Jaanus is going to win. MVP. They MVP at home court advantage to lead and blue the series ankle is the biggest reason why that happened Kawai currently other than Steph has the best argument of being the best player in the world. And we get to see both of them play each other in the NBA finals. That's going to be a lot of fun. I'm very curious to see how the rafters guard Steph curry and vice versa how the warriors playing on guarding. Kawhi leonard. I assume Andre Igwe dollars going to get that responsibility. He certainly probably the most capable on that team. I'm looking at curry, I mean, if the plan is to have collide chase Steph around that diminishes a little bit, we, he can do authencity. It's going to be a nice chess move back and forth. I really think the key in the NBA finals is powder, salt or CRM if those guys play. Well, I think it can be a really fun. Interesting series. Plus you need. I mean you need Kyle Lowry. Like I know we've all got our jokes about playoff calorie, you need him in this series. He needs to be a guy that can that can consistently score fifteen or twenty points. You have no chance better than happened. No chance. Unique Kyle Lowry to hoop you need regular season. Kyle Lowry NBA finals Kyle Lowry kind of scares me a little bit, you need regular season Kyle Lowry. Let's go back to the phone line, Mike in Houston call and I'm going. Mike. Mike you there? Going once going twice Mike gone. I wanna talk hardened versus Kawai. There's no hard and argument. Mike you there? All right. Mike is gone. My wanted to talk hard versus Kawai. There's no hard and argument man known. There's not a single argument. You can make heart is not in this category with these five I'm sorry. He's not. I've given I've given this hard and experiment. Too many chances, you gotta prove it to me. You got to prove it to me. At some point you can play at this level. I know you can score thirty seven in the regular season. Oh, you can get buckets against the grizzlies, you can get buckets against the kings. I've done this hard and thing too many times in the postseason for me to really entertain it for him in the best player. He's a really good player. So as Russell Westbrook, I've seen this argument, too many times a hard and I'm not willing to engage in that conversation anymore best player. He's like the seventies learning.

I mean fast-break steel Kyle Lowry got it. I mean he did like a little Braun first game pass to Ricky Davis turn around hand in Coalisland, or, and Kawhi Leonard just left hand. Boom on honest. Boom. On Janas co why is the most interesting man in the world. Kawai is the only person to hit the shot in game. Seven have no reaction. Coalisland was the first player in history of this the first player in the history of the NBA to hit a game winning shot in game seven any game seven round one round two round three round four no one has ever hit a game winning shot in in game seven of an MBA playoff series quite had no reaction. None. Dunked on Yanni's two. Best players in the Eastern Conference. Maybe the two best players in the Lord. If a broad dunked on Janas like this he'd be doing that little boy, puts the earth down beaten his chest and screaming, it would have got you fired up collide, just casually. I can do this boom dunked on them. Run back. I'll play a little defense. What is a matter, just an incredible place. If you get a chance to check the highlight out, which I'm sure it will be every single way right now. Even though social media, you'll see I retweeted of you want to follow me on Twitter at dot Harrison, if you want to see it and incredible play. So right now, we were talking about who are the worst people to sit by during the game. Because Drake is a terrible person to sit by their stinky's official guy. They're small bladder guy. The guy that can never get the end seat. The guy that can't get seats twenty one and twenty two on the other in he's got to sit in the middle. He's gotta get up five or six times inconvenience, everybody. And then at first, you're kind of cool about it. Like you'll actually stand up and kind of move out of the way, so he can get to where what he needs to do. But then you. Kind of frustrating, passive aggressive. So you don't actually get up and you kind of turn to the side to let them go by. We've all been in that situation before there's annoying opposite team guy that guy always has the jersey from the opposing team and it'll start off. You know, fun natured back and forth. What sports is? And then the game will start and then his team gets up fourteen and then he's over the top, and he's drinking and he's annoying to be around. But then when his team loses he has nothing to say. We all have been around these people, and then during the commercial break sitting here talking to my great guys back at the studio. Antonio, you're telling me that you're one of these guys that no one wants to sit by during a sporting event. Basically, I like to describe myself as someone who just always the loud fan always into a will yell and scream. Whether no matter a good thing or bad thing happens to teams is one of those guys you probably don't wanna sex, too, 'cause you always loud, energetic, and passionate. The end. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm not gonna lie to you. I have become a little bit of a seat, snob. Like if you invite me to a game, I'm gonna ask you a how much do I oh you for the ticket? Like if you offer me, the ticket, I'm not giving you money for the ticket. You offered me to go to the game. So I expected to be free, and they have terrible assumption. But that's what I'm assuming if you say, hey, I've got a couple of tickets to, you know, Nixon bucks, I'm assuming that one of those tickets for me and one of them are free. That's what I'm assuming. I don't know how much you pay for our know how you got him. Then got nothing to do with me. I'm assuming that one of those tickets are free and it's my ticket. That's what I'm doing maybe terrible assumption. But that's what I'm assuming I'm also going to ask where it is. And my enthusiasm ongoing is going to depend on where it is. And maybe this was because the child, you know, we'd always have the most mean so sometimes he sat up top. And when you're a kid doesn't matter. I want to go to the game. So I don't care if I'm in three twenty seven or four twenty seven or one twenty-seven on there. But you guys know as adults once you get a taste of that filet Mignon, it's hard to go back to hamburger helper. Like, once you sit club.

"Coach because a bunch of things. My brother Koby LeBron. What's he brought me nothing? I want ring what we watch every. Hell no one wants to clip or no one even knows. They don't want a first round exit. We want the Lakers back. We want. This man had the audacity to say what is LeBron James given us. What is your organization giving? Lebron james. Give them anybody. I think we all new year one was going to be a lean year for LeBron. The Lakers the lean year about the additions they made their additions were land. Stevenson, their dishes were Rasiah Rondo their dishes were avail McGee. Their dishes were Michael Beasley, then give run a whole lot to work with this year. But my hope was little Bronco acclimated. Paid you all the shops? You wanna do do Space Jam to Space Jam three? I don't care but year to hit the ground running. Let's start one of these championship rings and then the off season started before the off season. Even started magic was on here. He was quitting. Couldn't even tell the brand. They had the coaching. They should have hired Tyron Lou, but they didn't hire. Tyron Lou the higher Frank Vogel. But they really wanna hire Jason king. I don't know which way is up with the Lakers their run like a bad mom and pop store, but they're not a mom and pop store, they're run like a local grocer the Lakers five most valuable franchises in American sports. Have some dignity have some class have some direction. I don't like what they're doing. So LeBron I understand that the brand to make the best basketball decision. I get that. Philadelphia was the best basketball decision. Cleveland was the best RC's. Houston was the best basketball decision. Houston affiliate best basketball decision. Cleveland was the legacy decision. The Lakers was supposed to be the business decision. Lebron has his business in order. The Lakers don't seem to have their business in order. Completely dysfunctional. I don't like the way that it's run. And I think we see that attitude reflect leadership the owner doesn't appear to be on the same page as the basketball president of operations the basketball president of operations doesn't seem to be on the same page as general manager. Lebron seem to be on the same page as anybody else. I don't like the way that it's run over there. I don't like the way that their network is networking. I don't like it. I don't like it around the brunt. And only want the best LeBron that this point I go where LeBron goes the Broncos Memphis grizzlies. That's that's my favorite NBA team. We're in this thing together. That's the deal. We may when the Brown with junior in high school that I'll follow you wherever you wanna take me as a sports fan. I don't like what the Lakers are doing to analyze the energy direction. I don't like the guidance. I don't like the leadership anything about the Lakers right now. I hate what they're doing. So the brunt and the Indus career that we should be celebrating the twilight of his career. But yet we got these two people on the news talking about who is who. We gave. What was the Burlington? I'll like it last thing here before we get out of here mother's day is today tomorrow, depending on where you are in the country having mother's day to you and yours. "I'm filling in for you. My name is carissa Harrison, go ahead and follow me on Twitter at C dot Harrison. So we're wrapping this up. We are putting quarterbacks into tears. There's a website that circulating the internet. It's called tier maker dot com. People are putting everything in tears, Drake albums. Jay Z albums will Ferrell movies, whatever you can name. They're putting them in years. So I decided the puck NFL quarterbacks in its here's I want to reset the list in case, you haven't heard it. So far just tuning in for the first time. We're taking your calls. Do you want to argue eight five five two one two four two two seven. We got Nick. And Liam on the line. We'll take their call here momentarily. We could take yours you can call up, so this tears, I put them in. I have my waiting to see here. Sam darnold. Lamar jackson. Jimmy Garoppolo Josh Allen. I don't think we have enough information on those quarterbacks shit. Jimmy Garoppolo made sense starts Josh Allen careers been a little bit incomplete. So far Lamar Jackson. He didn't start until the second half of the season. Darnell was a rookie showed some promise. But just wasn't given the tools to be successful last year. Some taking a wait-and-see approach with them. Not putting them in any tier? I have my give up and move on here. James Winston, Marcus mariota. Derek carr. Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee titans are in the situation with the fifth year option on their quarterbacks that this year, they gotta make a decision on what they wanna do. I will give up on them. I don't think James is going to evolve into a high level starting quarterback. I don't think Marcus mariota is ever going to stay healthy enough to be a high level quarterback. I think there are cars been completely different post injury. We'll see this season with their car. But the way looking right now, I would give up start over and go get me a different quarterback on a rookie cost control deal. I have my they are what they are list. Kirk cousins Cam Newton, Matt Stafford. Andy Dalton ally. Meaning Joe flacco Ryan Fitzpatrick. Now, there's a wide range in this group. Kirk cousins is a much better quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. But this point they just you know, what they are like this season hasn't happened yet. I can tell you what's going to happen with Kirk cousins this season hasn't happened yet. But I can tell you what's going to happen when mass Stafford Dalton is I know of flack was no arrive. Fitzpatrick is these quarterbacks there's just a clear and defined ceiling on what they're going to be the season. And it's it's very results. I have my good. But clearly need help to your Dak Prescott Mitch Trubisky and Nick foles, and I was very shaky on foles. I think capable I think that also needy. I think Dak needs Zeke Elliott, I think he needs Amari Cooper. I think he needs that defense. Jack is very team dependent same thing for Mitchell Trubisky. I think the bears had a top five roster last year in the NFL famish Robiskie quarterback. Now can't take that. Next step elevate, his play to get them to where they want to go. He's in the good, but clearly need help category to me. And he's training in the Rican know what they are. But he's still young autumn sometime. I am I potentially next to your Baker Mayfield. Jared Goff Watson Carson wins the same way that I think we saw it was Brady at the top. But then there was that next year. Really good quarterbacks. That's what I think this year can be I think Baker can be a star. I think Jerry golf can put up huge numbers as long as he stays in Los Angeles with McVeigh. I liked to Shawn Watson a lot. When Carson Wentz healthy. He's a fantastic quarterback. But he's got to stay healthy. That's not potentially next up to your. I've got my not a leap playing on a high level rivers Rothlisberger. And Matt Ryan guys that are thirty four thirty five years old still planning a high level not elite quarterbacks anymore, but more than capable. And then I have my league group Hatcher Mahomes. Drew Brees, Tom Brady, air Rogers. Russell Wilson Andrew luck. I think those are the six best quarterbacks in the NFL. And I think that Brady's probably not a top six quarterback in the NFL. But it's Tom Brady. Tom Brady coming after me patriots nation coming after me all the respect of the world for Brady we've kicked enough dirt we've kicked enough dirt on to the grave of the New England Patriots. And they've crawled up out of it. Like undertaker wrestlemainia that I'm willing to keep Brady in that elite category until Brady says and I'm done playing football. Let's go to the phone line. Nick your first up. Go ahead, man. Okay. Well, my my only comment on Tom Brady is a patriots fan is that you know, to those who say he's no longer Elise or isn't elite. Or I understand all the haters hate him to buy wasn't a patriots fan. I'd hate the patriots. I admit it. But but is there any quarterback currently playing and and frankly darn few in the past who you'd rather have marching you're leading our team down the field. The last two minutes of a game. When you have to score the go ahead. Touchdown. Is there anybody in the game today had rather have than Tom Brady doing that? I think the answer is absolutely not. No, I agree with you Nick from New Hampshire. Good phone call. I mean, that's why I have Brady soon as list. I don't think I don't think that you can argue that Brady from talent standpoint is one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL. But if I got a third and ten if I got a third and nine, and I need a first down Brady is automatic as anybody currently in the game in Nick put I think he is as qualified as any quarterback in the history of the NFL. He's the best quarterback of all time. But there's some things we can't argue anymore. The in the NFL and Brady's greatness is not something I'm willing. Argue the moment that they came back from twenty eight to three against the Atlanta Falcons, and they came back and Brady and James white. Brought them back in this Brady's the goat. I Val at the altar of Tom Brady. It's over. There's nothing else to debate. There's nothing to argue Brady's the greatest of all time. Let's go back to the phone lines. Liam in Chicago you called up. Go ahead. Hey, man, what's going on? Two things real quick first thing about Pat Mahomes. Yeah. I definitely agree. Like you can't put him at anything less than elite. But also consider. It's only been one season. He really really good production. But to quarterback also had insane productions and probably would have been in coming into their second year Dak Prescott Nick foles. Are you know, have regrets immensely from that elite level and then second being from Chicago huge Mitch fan? I agree with you about him being very good. But clearly need help. But out of quarterbacks in the NFL. I think he has probably the most help with Nagy offense of coach and best defense in the NFL. So your take on expectations for him or his potential ceiling. No, I appreciate the phone call. Thanks a lot for calling. Sure Bisky is like an odd. Duck to me. I don't know if I think I don't think he has the most weapons in the NFL. But I understand what you're talking about. Like he's around a really good structure. This is like a really telling ear to me, which risky. Defense is still good. He's on the rookie contract. Can you take the next step forward? The Packers has got a new coach. I think we kind of know what Kirk cousins is at this point. I don't think the lions are threat. You should win that division. What's going to happen last year? Twenty four touchdown passes twelve interceptions. Took a big jumping completion percentage to sixty six percent. Mitch put together a really good season. But I also think we can agree or identify that Mitch was a little bit of a handcuff a little bit of shackle for why that team didn't go further in the playoffs last year. If you argue that Chicago was the best team in the NFC. I couldn't really argue with you aside from the quarterback position. I think they have just about everything else. Maybe you could get a couple more skill position guys. But for the most part that's team that you think you can do something with and we talk a lot about Cody parkey, Cody park. You certainly a reason why they lost that game. Mitch one great in that game. Either. Mitch certainly could've played better. He coulda gave you a little bit more than what he gave you in that game. So let's see what happens with him only scored fifteen points. Mitch put up. Okay. Number had three hundred yards. That's like what does that matter at this point? Only had one touchdown only scored fifteen points. You are home should have won that game. Let's see if they can take the next step, and let's see Mitch evolve. And let's see if he can be a guy that throws four four thousand yards thirty five touchdown passes and get that team over the hump because I will put the bears in a category of teams that I wouldn't put them in that tier one team. But certainly to your team that could win the Super Bowl. Let's go down to Houston. Jerrell you call and go ahead. Hello. How are you doing always happy to speak with you? I'm always confused by the term greatness. And by the way, watching his quarterback. We believe he lead us to a championship. We believe that here Houston of our quarterback. So no matter where he rated we believe that the thing that never came quite understand is when Michael Jordan about greatness, he said, I'm not going to disrespect the players who came before me by saying that I am the greatest and when we say Tom Brady is degraded. We judge him by Super Bowl just before Tom Brady plays in a different generation different rooms different fields. So if you never saw the players who came Johnny United in those sunny before him to say, he's the greatest I would say he's a very very good quarterback. But to say he's the greatest disrespect to the players who played for him because they played on the. Dishes that a different than the players playing today. And that's the only thing I have to say when you say no questions asked that's being unfair to my generation of football players to say where this this guy is better than all quarterbacks who play before them simply because he's one Super Bowl. Hey, really quick. I let me ask you this. Because I certainly understand that you point that you're making that it's difficult to compare eras times in the rules change, my argument for Brady necessarily isn't a physical talent standpoint. Because I believe that Peyton Manning was a better quarterback Tom Brady, if we're talking about like throwing of the football on Phil general and all that my argument for Brady is Brady has the best resume that any NFL quarterback has ever had six Super Bowls nine appearances, forcible MVP's won MVP three times four times. Fourteen time pro bowler, all the AFC games. I think that. Ladies accolades, are the greatest we've ever seen in that makes him the greatest quarterback of all time. In my opinion, downing United's greatest quarterback it because he didn't play on perfect..

"Right back in. It is the Sean Pendergast show. Sean Pendergast off today. My name is carissa Harrison. Thank you so much for listening to go ahead and follow me on Twitter at cdot Harrison, you interact with the show or as you just heard you can call in eight five five two one two four two two seven. So the Kansas City Chiefs after the championship game propose to the NFL to change the overtime rules, the NFL in the competition committee decided to table that conversation until may it is now may so we will find out in the coming weeks. What is to happen with the NFL overtime rules? I do think it is fair to point out that this is only going to be a postseason rule and not a regular season rule. The chiefs do not stand alone in this the Dallas Cowboys. Also offer their support Ryan if you can play here's what Stephen Jones had to say. You know, we hadn't had our call yet, which we will. So it's cut for me to know where the committee blaming I certainly tend to lean toward the new rule take. It's you know, I started they watched every play at Kansas City New England game. And you're kinda would've liked to have seen. What would happen again, say got another shot at it? And then have the thing would ended up. It was football in my mind the game at its fast and. I don't have a problem with guaranteeing team a shot at it. So I don't know where by fellow competition committee members are going to end up on this. But it's certainly something that add some traction, they're in the room, and certainly some people who were very interested in it. But we'll get on a call there. Take a long hard look at it. And then I'm sure memberships are gonna get say. So that is what Steven Jones had to say. But I'm curious what you have to say eight five five two one two four two two seven. I am just a firm believer that the goal of overtime is not to create one hundred percent equal fairness. That's what regulation is four. Regulation is to is to create fairness and give both teams in equal opportunity to try to win. Once you get to overtime to me. You just gotta live with the rules, and you shouldn't complain about them. And I feel like Kansas City is only having this conversation because they lost where if it was vice versa. I don't think that the NFL support would be. Hind giving the New England Patriots a nother chance to win. That's where I think a lot of this motivation is four let's head to the phone line. Cam in Boston. He appears to agrees Cam Europe. I. Hey. Hey, so I love the overtime rules are now they'll feel though that it used to be with awful. Basically what the NFL would be saying if they change us rule is that defense and special teams don't matter at all the matters is offense, which I think is awful. Also, Stephen Jones, you know, what I would have liked to see. He had played the first half and not been awful. So you know, maybe they would have won. Hey, thanks a lot for the phone call. He does make a good point that sheafs were absolutely terrible in the first half really good in the second half. But they certainly got off to a slow start in this one. I do agree with him. I did not like the old overtime rules. I didn't like the sudden death because I thought it was then cheap. This new way doesn't feel cheap to me the old way felt cheap. Because teams wore playing four field goals. Now, you got to be aggressive. You have to try to score touchdowns. It's not just first team that scores like it used to be there's no kicking a fifty one yard field goal or just trying to get into field goal range. If you play for field goal now you can get beat. If you give up a touchdown to me in overtime. You should just loose like that. Should just be end of the game. We can keep playing in overtime rule Wayne keep playing, but if you have a touchdown then you lose the game. That's a very fair rule to me. Let's let's head to Pennsylvania to get somebody on the other side, Josh, Pennsylvania. You call them to the Pentagon, man. Thanks for having me. No problem. I think if a team scores in overtime. I I think the other team are to get a chance to score. Then if they don't expire on and the team that scored two touchdown first ways, I think it should be able to get a chance and close it would be more entertaining to see. Let me ask you this. What if they displayed an additional quarter where equals seven points? So let's say that they say, hey, neither team gets possession. We're just going to play another full quarter. And we're going to say that you have to score at least six points to win. Would you be in favor of that? Yeah. I appreciate it short. And sweet that's Josh in Pennsylvania. Thanks a lot for calling that actually would probably be my suggestion to the NFL my suggestion. So the NFL would be if it's first team to six or if you give up a safety. So a field goal doesn't hurt. You. It helps you obviously, so your total. But then if the other team goes down at scores a touchdown, then they win because that gets you to six first team to six will be very fair in the postseason where again if you give up a touchdown on your first possession. It doesn't matter. You shouldn't be allowed to keep changing the rules thin- base core. Touchdown. We gotta keep playing like, no. You had your opportunity to score touchdowns. You should have scored more touchdowns throughout the course of the regular season. Let's keep going down the line. Patrick in Cleveland, you called it. And go ahead, man. Yeah. I guess my point would be you know, you stated that the team had the whole game to win the game. All the of the game a team that ends up winning the first possession in overtime over then the whole game of fourth quarter as world to win. They're both evenly matched. They're tied at the end of the game. I think it's fair that is given up that there'd be at least one possession given to the other team to see if they score touchdown. Then after that, you can do the sudden death or whatever. To say well this team had the whole game to win. And they didn't get it done team to two and they didn't get it done either. No, you're right. Patrick makes a really good point. Thanks a lot for the phone call you right? I mean, both teams have the opportunity for the full sixty minutes to go out there and win. They didn't do it. I'm just saying is at that point the rules are the rules. And I don't think that we can I don't think any of us would disagree that this current system is at least somewhat fair it is fair. The patriots had to go eighty something yards down the field to win the game. They didn't have to go twenty-something yards down the field like in college. They didn't do some hokey two point conversion contests that in have the homes in Brady standards of thirty. And then throw it at the field goal posts. And see who hits it more times. The patriots went down the field. Third down conversion at the third down conversion after third down conversion they scored a touchdown. They were the winner of the game is disappointing. I would love for that. Chiefs to go the Super Bowl I was going to go the Super Bowl to the Super Bowl. But just lost that simple to me. Let's keep moving down the line Scott in Virginia. You call it into the shop internatio going. Hey, thanks for taking my call. No problem. My gut reaction right off the bat was. Yeah. Change it up. But then I thought for two second wait Kansas City had a chat with their defense. They could've stopped patriots. Or they got it on the turnover. So they had their chance. So go ahead and keep it the way it is. But my ad today. If they don't score anything in one overtime, if they go into a second overtime. That's what we need to go back to the old way. First team to score because that's too long too many injuries. Could happen you need to be able to prep for the next week possibly. So if no score happens at all instead of a whole nother quarter touchdown that when you could cover back to I deal going. No that makes a lot of them. A lot of sense got Virginia. Thanks a lot for the phone call that does make a lot of sense. I do think there is some player safety component that you have to factor in. I know. Sometimes it doesn't feel like the NFL cares. A whole lot about that concept of it. But I do appreciate the notion of let's keep moving down the line. Let's go to Gilbert. You're in Kansas. Go ahead, man. Just say man, why don't we make it? Simple and common sense H. Steam gift the ball after the coin toss the first one who gets the ball if they get stuff for your life and or fan three if they kick pills, they get the three. And then the next desertion goes the other team and wherever they can't fake it. I mean if they go in and score touchdown they win. I mean, they pay the first team that scores a touchdown. If they want to go for two they get to more then that puts four. Just common sense. I mean each team chances fall and do what they will. I don't know. I don't know why it's so difficult to figure this out. No that that definitely is a sentiment out there. Gilbert, thanks a lot for calling. I am with you that the the changing of the rule would be the quota, quote, most fairest, and I think eliminate any confusion and complaining there's no way to complain. If both teams get a chance if both teams get a chance at overtime. I don't wanna hear what anybody has to say. After that you had your opportunity. You didn't go down the field. You didn't get it. Because in basketball, we don't complain about the overtime lose. You get five minutes you both get possessions. If you lose five minute overtime. That's the one you in baseball. We don't complain about it. Both teams get a chance to hit both teams. Get a chance to hit both teams. Get a chance to field if you lose. I'm sorry. Good day, sir. That's how it goes in football, at least in professional football college. A little bit different voltages get the ball and all that kind of stuff. You don't hear a lot of complaining about the resolution of the game at that professional football. They just have a different rule than the other sports. Ryan, let's go to Joel in Virginia. He has a good take on this one. This is Joel in Virginia. Go ahead, man. Yeah. I think that they should should play an extra quarter if the scores still tied them it. Start to kick her thirty five. Five and keeping moving them back five yards until one of the kickers, miss it. So everybody has a chance at the ball. And the kicker that MRs is I guess it works in soccer. It's most popular for moral. Why not put both? Thanks Joe for the phone call. I don't know if I'm down for the soccer resolution and all of this. No disrespect a no, no disrespect to soccer. But I much rather have the college system the have that. I don't want to go to some hokey skills challenge at the end. That's not what I want for my NFL. Can you imagine Ryan if they decided who goes to the Super Bowl with basically penalty kicks, can you? Imagine you sit there, right? I don't know where you watch the AFC championship game you're sitting there and you're having a nice cold refreshing drink, and you got some chicken wings. You're sitting there watching it. You've seen these two great AFC team chiefs and patriots battle it out Ryan. And then at the end of fifteen minutes is still tied. And they're like, you know, what we're gonna bring out Stephen God cow ski and then Harris. From the Kansas City Chiefs, and they're going to start the twenty and then keep going five yards back to kick field goals that wouldn't be very fulfilling into the game. Would it Ryan? I would say no one was sure the NFL receive a lot of pushback very quickly to change those rules Christly for team. That's the kicker is nearly not as great I do like the mindset of it. It is definitely different. I think it's a little bit video game eats meat. That sounds like something we would do on Madden. But I like the like the outside the box thinking, let's go to chip in Alaska. He's got the last word on this. Go go at you. Hey, what's interesting ideas on how to finish this up? I like your idea the extra paid. But instead of seven let's the earthquakes I'd say the first team that gets to eight is the winner. Then then they'd have to go. You know score. Touchdown. They'd have to go for to. They don't make that the other team gets the ball with the same opportunity. You know, eight points. I'd really have to be an aggressive. No. You certainly would have to be van. I really appreciate the phone call our chip, I'm sorry. That would that definitely would be more aggressive way of doing it. I liked the mandatory having to go to like I liked what the af did. Or what the XFL's going do? I like this. I like this new revolution. Whether it's analytics, weather, it's that driven whatever it is a forcing teams and incentivizing going forward two point conversions with no one likes extra points. No one's excited about extra points. No one wants to watch extra points. In fact, they had to make the extra points more exciting because we hated him so much because they were so outta Matic. So I am for a system that would. Incentivize going for two and making it more worth your while?.

"My name is carissa Harrison you can follow me on Twitter at I Harrison, happy be sitting in with you on this beautiful Sunday. Ryan, I don't know where you are right now in the United States. I'm here live in Kansas City, Missouri. It is absolutely beautiful inside. I wish I was outside enjoying a nice taco burrito. Having some frozen Margaritas. But I'm here talking sports with you today. Ryan. I'm very jealous because here in New York City, the weather couldn't be any more opposite than when you're experiencing rainy cold Wendy's miserable. So I'm kind of glad to be inside on tonight. It's like eighty one degrees today in Kansas City. Hopefully wherever you are. You are having a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Again. Thank you so much for listening. We got a lot of stuff to get into incidents show. Yesterday's Kentucky Derby was affected by instant replay. We'll talk about that as I think instant replay hurts sports way more than it helps it also today we're going to do something really cool. I I've written down one question for every single team in the NFL so four different segments. We'll go through a we'll go through one question for every team in the NFL will do that coming up in about forty minutes or so we'll go through the AFC and the NFC east. I last week when I when I filled it for shopping or gas. I gave you my list of sports movies that make me emotional moments that make me emotional today. I've created a list it is the top ten sports movies that everyone should see. I'll tell you. What that is. We'll go through it. And we'll see what you will put on your list. We'll also have Zac noble on. He is from the four seasons. NBA podcast talk about the NBA playoffs, which are in full swing and Steph. Curry is probably missing jump shots right now as we speak. It is weird that the greatest shooter possibly of all time is in the middle of a shooting slump. We'll talk about that in just a little bit. But this is where I want to start today's show, the it it would appear that the NFL overtime rules are about to be changed. So the Kansas City Chiefs proposed this after the end of the AFC championship game. If you guys don't remember the patriots and the chiefs played an instant classic played an incredible game. The patriots won the coin toss Brady was Brady. They had three separate third downs. They went down the field. That fat scored a touchdown. The Kansas City. Chiefs never got an opportunity to touch the football so move forward. We go to the competition committee. The chiefs stood out there. They're going through some other stuff that decided to table that conversation until may. So this is a tweet from pro football talk. The NFL may change the rules later this month to guarantee the team that kicks off to start overtime gets up possession. Even if the first drive ins in touchdown. Do you agree? Fifty three percent of people said, yes. Twenty one percent of people said, yes. Only in the postseason and twenty six percent of people said no Ryan if you can play it. Here's what Stephen Jones from the Dallas Cowboys has to say about the rule change. You know, we hadn't had our call yet, which we will. So it's cut for me to know where the committee leaning, I certainly tend to lean toward the new rule. I think it's you know, I certainly watched every play in Kansas City New England game. And you kinda would've liked to have seen. What would happen again to say got another shot at it? And then have the thing with ended up. It was football in my mind the game at its best. And I certainly don't have a problem with gearing. Team a shot at it. So I don't know where fellow competition committee members are going to end up on this. But it's certainly something that had some traction they're in the room, and certainly some people who were very interested in it. But we'll get on a call there. Take a long hard look at it. And then I'm sure memberships going to get to see. So that was Stephen Jones Audio's, courtesy appro football talk live, Stephen Jones, son of Jerry Jones. I'm pretty sure you guys know who Jerry Jones is can we just be honest here. And I don't want to fend anybody from back from Kansas City. You know, I got all the love in the world for you. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. We are only having this conversation because the patriots are the team that won. If it was vice versa. Let's go back. And let's say that Kansas City was the team that won the coin toss impacting Mahomes, the new golden shout in the NFL on the cover of VAT an NFL MVP five thousand yards fifty touchdowns. Let's say that the chiefs they got in the. Golfers and they go down the field in seven plays and they score touchdown. And they go to their first of all since nineteen sixty nine and it's at home and Tom Brady's on the sideline and he's upset and he's patting. He doesn't get a chance. We're not having this conversation about the overtime rules. It's only a conversation because the big bad New England Patriots were the teams that were the beneficiary of the overtime rule. It is not my personal belief that the overtime rules in any sport are designed to be fair. There's no denying that the team that wins the coin toss they get the first chance and possibly the only chance to score. But I argue this in Kansas City all the time. The coin flip is not what decided the games fake playing after that. It's not like they bring everybody out to the middle of the field. And then they flip the coin and the patriots won the coin. And then they just handed off the AFC championship trophy. That's not how it happened. They kept playing football after they handed out the AFC shape. Trophy. And you know, what happened at and got a third and nine gronk out of thirteen. Chris HOGAN got a thirty nine and the patriots went down the field and scored the touchdown. Again. I am not a firm believer that the overtime rules need to be fair. You know, what needs to be fair? Regulation needs to be fair. The chiefs had sixty minutes to win the game. The patriots had sixty minutes to win the game. You get regulation for fairness. You get possessions. They give possession. You gotta deal with the ebbs and flows of the game. That is true. Fair overtime. Is you get an additional opportunity to try and go win the game. I stand on the side of if you give up a touchdown in big boy, professional sports. We're not talking about literally we're not talking about high school football here. We're not talking about college. We're talking about the best football players in the world. The best the strongest the fastest. If you give up a touchdown, and you give up three thirty and long conversions to me at the end. You do not get to complain about the rules not being fair you had an opportunity to win. Now. Your offense didn't have an opportunity to win. But that's just very simply your defense. Didn't give them the opportunity to go out on the field. Again. I just a firm believer of I don't think overtime rules are designed for one hundred percent in absolute fairness. So I'm perfectly fine with the rules. Are I'm a hundred percent fine. With what the rules are the chiefs had an opportunity their defense had the opportunity to get off the field, and it didn't work. I don't like colleges overtime. I think it's incredibly hokey, and it's even gotten more hokey. I don't know if you guys are the rules are not. But now it is going to be mandatory after the fourth overtime that I've been going to keep trying to score touchdowns. There's now going to go straight to two point conversion, which is made even hokey or college is overtime is like a and experiment that hey, we just had this really fun back and forth sixty minute competition. But let's now give you from the twenty five yard line. Let's completely eliminate the third down conversions of going down the field. Let's eliminate when it comes to special teams. Let's eliminate field position. Unless unless put you at the most opportune time to score that's not what I think the professional sports overtime should be. You had sixty minutes to go out there and. Compete and try to win the game and you failed in your Jek give. So now, you've got gotta deal with the consequences of failing in your jecklin. And we're only having this conversation because the patriots won this. The only reason if another team had to throw the New England Patriots. None of us would be sitting here saying, you know, what man I really wish Brady had got another chance to win the Super Bowl. I was Brady had the chance to get the ball and go down the field and score a touchdown. No. You don't get the complaint after that. That's my Sakonnet. I'm very curious to hear what you guys.

"They don't study Boston probably has the most talent in the NBA. That's not the Golden State Warriors. I mean with Irving in Jayson Tatum. Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier, Al Horford, Boston probably has the most talent in the NBA. Walston was a four seat out east. Boston was the foresee out east certainly not maximizing their talents, certainly not getting the most of their town this season. But today, they came out, and they put an absolute hurting, absolute hurting. On the walkie bucks. A pounding of Milwaukee Bucks. One twelve ninety Boston was absolutely dominant today. John didn't do a whole lot today. Boston probably played their best game that they've played so season this season and Boston was incredibly balancing in this hour. Horford dropped twenty Kyrie Irving had twenty six. Jaylen Brown had nineteen. Gordon? Hayward came off the bench played thirty minutes and had thirteen this was a balanced attack. From the Boston Celtics. I'm telling you Boston is the team. Just there the kid that just doesn't try hard. At least they didn't during the regular season. There's a kid that you know, can give a work. There's a kid there. The kid that you know, if they really applied and really try themselves. They could get that full ride scholarship. But for some reason, they cut class they put off their responsibilities. They procrastinate on a sinement. They turn things in late just to do good enough to get a C. And then, but when it matters when it counts when it's the final. And they have to get the ninety to make sure that they pass the class. They get a ninety six and the teacher looks at them and says why didn't you do this the whole season? Why don't you do this the whole semester? That's exactly what the Boston Celtics are the Celtics could very much come out of the east the Celtics today. Look like the team that we thought they were going to look like at the very beginning of the season. The Celtics look like the team we thought were going to be at the very beginning of the year. And they've played like today, again, a dominant effort Jaanus was banned today. I think John could be the best player in the NBA Janas was bad today. Seven for twenty one had twenty two points. But it wasn't efficient. It's not officiant. When you scored twenty two points and take twenty one shots. Jaanus wasn't great today. It was a really balanced effort by the Boston Celtics onto the Western Conference semi-final, which just ended Golden State won one. Oh, four to one hundred over Houston today. I don't know if you remember this or not Kevin. But there was a movie and it was called little giants. And in little giants. They talked about cherry hill and Kevin. And how you want it to be Kevin the one time down the hill. You know, you just had to beat them. The one time down the hill. And I'm a firm believer of everybody in our lives. We have like one person who is better than us. Like, if you're the if you think you're the best salesman. There's like your rival who's just a little better salesman than you. If you were the fast kid in class or like, you got you fast kid, there was that one kid that was just a little bit faster than you. That's Golden State is the Houston. I think Houston is as close to Golden State's equal that we currently have in the NBA. I think we saw that last year where they took them to seven games, and if the rockets could shoot just a little bit that's a completely different series. But I look at that. I look at those teams is I think Golden State's the best team in the NBA. I think the rockets are probably the second best team in the if not the third best team and the rockets up with the warriors again about as well as any team in the NBA. I just don't know how the rockets over a seven game span can beat them four times. I just think Golden State's better than them. I think they showed it today. I think consistently Golden State is just better than the Houston Rockets. I think they're deeper. I think they're a little bit better defensively. I think their star players can handle the pressure a little bit more and come up big in big time spots. I just think Golden State is just a better more well rounded more complete basketball team than the Houston Rockets. I was really excited about the second round of the NBA playoffs. I didn't think the first round was incredibly good. I didn't think it was that many good ups. But it's to be expected. This second round. I think there's a lot of intrigue because a lot of really good matchup today. You have the Celtics in bucks. You also have the warriors rockets that just ended tomorrow you've got rafters and Sixers I would say must win game for the Sixers, and then you've got the start of the Western Conference semifinals nuggets and trailblazer. I think these are the best eight teams remaining in the NBA. I think based on what we saw so far. These are the best eight remaining teams. I think you've got stars. I think you've got balanced. I think you've got injury government, you've got storylines. I think you've got good rivalries that Golden State and Houston of developed into a rivalry. I think these are the best teams remaining in the NBA. I think it's going to be really competitive. I think it's going to be a lot of fun. And I wanna say this. I don't want you to get caught up in knowing the ending that I think we all know how the NBA. Season's going to. We all know Golden State's winning this thing probably in five or six. I don't know who they're gonna play complain walking couple of Boston could play Philly plates Rondo. But I think we all know how this movie is going to end. But those stop you from seeing other things I see movies all the time. I know what's going to happen. I see movies all the time where I know in the first five minutes out of the move is going to end or I know what the plots is going to be I don't let that stop me from good entertainment. The NBA is an incredible product. And I think far too many times people get caught up in the chocking of it of how the higher seed won every round in the first round. And they say, well, we know who's going to win. So they don't get to watch and enjoy the quality basketball and athletes that play an incredible level on a night in night out basis. That's what's happening right now in the NBA. You are missing arguably two of the top ten offense players in the history of the NBA and Kevin. Durant in James harden? You're missing arguably the best shooter of all time. I even if it's an argument anymore when it comes to a Steph curry, you're missing, Janice, who I think is going to turn into a top ten player all time with all the things that he can do. Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Kawhi Leonard who can make an argument like there's just so much talent is so stacked. It's so balanced outside of the number one that if you're a fan right now, you're thinking, I don't like the NBA 'cause I know what's going to happen. I'm telling you, don't let the ending and knowing what the ending is ruin it for you. Because again, I know you've seen a movie where you one hundred percent know, exactly what's going to happen at the end of the movie, and you still enjoyed it the same. So don't let that via deterrent of you enjoying some really high quality basketball competition at the highest level cement lettuces them at the highest level some shot making at the highest level. I mean today cave had thirty five hard and had thirty five kyri at twenty six and eleven I mean, it's some world class athletes doing some world staying. And playing at a great level. So if you're keeping up with the NBA playoffs, the Boston Celtics they want today. One twelve to ninety over the Milwaukee Bucks. Just a dominant effort today. The Celtics probably played their best game of the season. They were a solid defensively as they've been at any point this season. They put the clamps down on Janas. And he didn't have a good day at all. And in the nightcap, the warriors defeated the rockets one four to one hundred I'm telling you guys won't believe this. But James harden at the end tried to get a foul and a three pointer it didn't work he complained they lost. I just think that the warriors are just a little bit better thing Houston, and I think it's gonna be a fun entertaining series. But I just don't think Houston or any team has enough for the Houston Rockets. My name is carissa Harrison are seated for the goals were my name is carissa Harrison filling in for Sean pentagram. "We will keep you locked in on warriors. And rockets as they are locked up in a tight one right now the warriors are clinging to a small lead in game one over the Houston Rockets. We'll give you update in that. As the NBA playoffs is in full swing. I was not too interested in around one. We had to get the dregs of the NBA out. We have removed all of them. We now have the eight. Best teams remaining in the NBA in the second round. The playoffs are off to a very quick start. We're going to talk a lot of NFL draft. We're going to talk a lot of NBA playoffs. We'll talk a pinch of game of thrones. In a pinch of injuries. Thank you so much for listening again it his shop pentagram show, but he is off today. My name is carissa Harrison. I am filling in for you taking you up until nine o'clock central tin on the east coast. Why would like to start is the NFL draft the giants got plate? Now, my producer Kevin law. He's a big giants fan. We'll have him. We'll just a little bit. But the giants got played here. The giants had the sixth overall pick. And if you followed anybody's my draft, I mean from Todd MC shades Mel kiper to anybody that covers the NFL draft. I think we all knew the giant taking a quarterback. I thought for the longest time that the giants are going to we're going to take Wayne Haskins it made all the sense in the world for the New York Giants. But no, they take Daniel Jones from Duke with the sixth overall pick. I wanna play you guys. This is John. GM? Dave Gettleman on the moment that he had love at first sight with now new giants quarterback Daniel Jones, loved them. Absolutely love. Everything about them. And they went to the senior bowl. He walked out there. I saw professional quarterback after after the three series that I watched I saw professional quarterback. So that's when I was in full bloom. Look. So his love of Daniel Jones didn't come from. You know, watching him play an actual games watching you compete against Clemson or Florida state in college. No it came from watching him play in the senior bowl. This is the thing about the giants. And this is the thing about Dave, gentlemen. We only know your general manager's name in the NFL for two reasons. No one knows who the general manager is for the Tennessee titans. The titans are an average football team. No one talks about the Tennessee titans. No, one cares about the Tennessee titans. No one is talking about their team. The reason we know Dave Gettleman is because he might not be good at this job. So he says he walked into the senior bowl and he saw Daniel Jones throw some passes at the senior bowl and his love was in flow blue. So people have been criticized the New York Giants, why did you take Daniel Jones at pick seventeen when you look at the way the board fell Dwayne Haskins was still there. Daniel Jones will still there. But Hassans didn't go to fifteen ju Lockton go until pit forty two in the second round. Couldn't giants have just waited sue. To seventeen to take Gail Jones. And then they could've will. And they could truly went true best available at pick number six. But no, Dave Gettleman said this is why they had to take Gail Jones at pick seventeen. Why didn't you wait until seventeen? Well, I know for fact they were team to want to take him in front of seventeen. I know that for fact. So it Tom it's tough. It really is. It wasn't easy for me to pass up. Josh allen. You know, for me, you know, my background that was very very difficult. But I think that much of Daniel Jones. So Dave get them in general manager of the New York Giants says it is a fact that two teams are going to take Daniel Jones who who was going to be the two teams that we're going to take Jones. Now, if you would believe Dave Gettleman, I think the two realistic options we're gonna be either the Denver Broncos of the Washington Redskins also team in the NFC east. This is from the Bronx. This is from Mike cli- who covers the Broncos out in Denver. It was not Denver. They were not taking any quarterback at ten and drew lock was their number one quarterback on the board. Not jones. There was some talk of trading back into the late first round for lock. But no quarterback at ten. Sorry. mR, gentlemen. Broncos. Can't Bill you out on this one. I firmly believe that the Broncos were always going to draft you luck. I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I actually cheer for the Missouri. Tigers cheer for the team that drew lock is played four for the last four seasons. Elway has been to three Missouri Tigers game and set in the press box everybody that knew them zuri Tigers and follow. This thing knew that John Elway had affinity for July. And that they were always going to take them. And I give the Broncos a lot of credit for how they slow played. They could've taken locked-in. They didn't trade it back with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They then were twenty selection and kept moving back and kept moving back. And then when they felt like, hey, there's a chance we could lose July. Philadelphia. All these other teams by be interested in July. Let's go get our quarterback they which eventually went up and got him at Pitt forty two. And then they got their quarterback. I believe the Broncos when they say that drew lock was their number one quarterback on the board. I believe. Let's go to the Washington Redskins. If you remember the day of the draft that Thursday, everybody told you that the giants are that the Washington Redskins wanted Wayne Haskins. I don't think that the Washington Redskins were ever in danger of taking the Daniel Jones at fifteen if you think about the way that the board broke for the Washington Redskins. They didn't have to move up to go Dwayne Haskins. They set their fifteen and they waited and they waited and they waited in eventually the quarterback that they wanted. If you remember going back Thursday, there were talks that Washington was looking at trade into the was looking at trade into the top ten Washington was looking at trade into the top eight to ensure that they got Duane Haskins. We don't gotta talk about the quarterback issues over there. You had Alex Smith on a long term deal. He gets injured. They got played. There's no other way to look at it in my mind. The what the New York Giants got played Kevin. I'm curious what you think you're the giants fan because when I hear Dave Gettleman say that they had to take Gail Jones at six, and then he knows for fact that there were two teams our interested. The only teams that took quarterbacks after the giants were the Broncos and the Redskins. The Broncos say that lock was their number one quarterback. I think Washington one Dwayne Haskins the whole time he's lying to you. They could've taken Josh Allen at six they could've got Daniel Jones at seventeen they probably could have got Daniel Jones at twenty four if they really wanted to Dave Gettleman got played in this scenario. Kevin. He definitely got played. And you're looking at the first round draft board going that six you got the Jaguars. They got their quarterback you go to the lines at eight. They got the quarterback. Buffalo's got the quarterback Denver. I'm with drew lock. He was all in and they they never needs to rebuild and they were able to get a couple extra draft picks with Pittsburgh Cincinnati. Daddy, maybe but the the they're locked in on dog and for another few years. You know, the Packers are drafting a quarterback in Raja's in the first round. We would all be surprised Miami potentially a quarterback. I thought Dwayne Haskins was going to go there. But go into the Washington Redskins. Like, you said, Dan, Snyder only talked to one person in the NFL combine, and it was Dwayne Haskins. He had no interest in whatsoever in any other quarterback other than Dwayne Haskins. And he got his guy, and the he would have been there at seventeen he would have been there. Thirty and guaranteed. Daniel Jones would have been there. The next day. I'm okay with the pick. But not at number six. Yeah. That's the thing and people might be listening in saying this. But I think it's a fair argument. Well, it doesn't matter if he got it, right? You're absolutely right. I live in Kansas City people questioned the chiefs taken Patrick Mahomes at ten I think we see that. That was the right decision that they gave up enough to go up and they went to ten and they got Patrick Mahomes. And obviously that has been a success as he is the defending NFL MVP. So if Daniel Jones goes out. And tears it up and he's a star quarterback in the league. No one is going to remember that you that you could have got him at thirty. But you took them at six I'm arguing from a team building standpoint, you could have had the best pass rusher. Possibly available after Nick Bosa went number two, Josh Allen. Whether it going to be excuse me. I think it's going to be a fantastic defensive in. And you still could had your quarterback like it's all about value in team building. And I think we've seen over the last couple of weeks over the last couple of months maybe over the last couple years Dave Gettleman is really bad at team building. And then lied to us. He said he said last year, and we he did get saquon Barkley. He got the best player in the draft of my opinion. And it worked out he said it again this year, we're going to get the best player available. And Josh you got a gift from the football gods. Josh Allen fell to your lap. And number six. No one's that. Saw this coming. I thought he was going to go to the jets or oak and Oakland surprise number four. But you had a gift like you said, arguably the. Second best player in the draft. And you pass them you pass them. I you need a quarterback. Like, I said, but you can't if you need to rebuild you have massive holes on the defensive side of the ball by getting rid of Vernon getting rid of Damon Harrison get getting rid of Eli apple and letting Landon Collins walk away for free. If you had no desire to lock them up having be part of their future. Why didn't you trade him at the deadline? You had multiple teams willing to offer you a handful of draft picks a third round here a fourth you could even a second Atlantic Collins. I believe yeah. You absolutely kinda got something last year. I noticed peaking of here in Kansas City that she's were definitely interested in Landon Collins, he had sooner the giants could have -absolutely done. I'll tell you what. My intrigue is for the NFL draft coming up in just a little bit. Plus the warriors Iraq. It's game has gone final. The warriors win one zero four one hundred over the Houston Rockets to take a one zero lead in the Western Conference semifinals. We'll talk about that coming up a little bit. My name is carissa Harrison I'm filling in for Sean pinta gas on. CBS sports radio. Here's an unfortunate fact that applies to most financial advisers. They're not legally required to act.
