"I can't be responsible for that and you know and again logic source you know. You're dealing with some of the biggest brands in in the again in the country and maybe even global brands yet. You know the writing stuff in our clients are writing these protections into their agreements. So you know so it's You know ten years ago no today. it's is important of any as any of the silos that you know the technology business surge it really is to talk about the innovation in your space. What are you excited to work on. What you hopeful working on because I joked with one of my friends. Who works at carfax. And out saying oh. It's just a database of car data. Like what could you possibly do with it in there. Like you can't imagine like they were talking about all these different things that that was kind of taken aback for yourselves. You know this is. You have the buying data of many many different companies. What do you envision the how the product could potentially change over the next. Let's say year five years. I don't know what your time horizon is. But how do you think what are the services are gonna come from all this data that you have collected. Well look first of all. We don't have five or ten years to do it. So so You know we're we're pretty resourceful around this kind of stuff but really you know. The focus has to be on data so with our technology across the continuum of source to pay again insights contracts procure to pay portfolio which. I didn't really talk about spin project. Sourcing performance management. You know were able to collect a lot of data right. And that data today you know get sonata to aggregated summarized normalized etcetera etcetera. Similar would wear talked about insights. But you know that data gets you know is really getting collected into a in a large repository that will then let us take that data. Turn it around and turn it into insights. Turn it into market. Intelligence turned into product. Things like that so you know on top of just managing core products that transact in drive value for our clients. It's really the data that we're getting out of those that you You know that really represents the future where were you know. We're we're taking technology in our business right so have allegheny personal wishes that you have for yourself that you hope to unlock who would be an ideal scenario or will be a dream state for for the peculiar pay industry of something if you could create you wanna created. That's a great question. I guess at the end of the day what. I want to be known for his having to build a sweeter products that a lot of customers use in by the way a lot of customers like using in them for me when i have a software client. That's ten plus years that predates this business for me. Actually that's let's say that's kind of the dream right the fact that you were able to do something that people like to use and solve a business problem gives them value gives them a return in again. That's why i wake up every day about thinking thinking about product. What can we do differently. I think the key to it from what we've seen is keeping the products pretty straightforward not overly complicated. Don't over engineer the stuff you known Collect the data so you can you know then mix that back into the mix that back into the you know the solution or intelligence that you're able to use in your business for your clients or for or to your clients as well as a total new bh. That's what again..

Sherlock Holmes: The Disappearance of Lady Frances Carfax

"The disappearance of lady francis carfax but y turkish asked mr sherlock holmes gazing fixedly. I got them at latimer's in oxford street. Home smiled with an expression of weary patience. The bath he said the baath why the relaxing and expensive turkish rather than the invigorating. Who made article. Because for the last few days i have been feeling rheumatic and old. A turkish bath is what we call an alternative in medicine. A fresh starting point a cleanser of the system by the way homes i added i have no doubt the connection between my boots and turkish bath is a perfectly self evident one to the logical mind and yet i should be obliged to you if you would indicate it. The train of reasoning is not very obscure. Watson said holmes with a mischievous twinkle. It belongs to the same class of deduction which. I should illustrate if i were to ask you. Who your cab in your drive this morning. I don't admit that a fresh illustration is an explanation. Said i with some asparagus. Bravo watson a very dignified and logical. An End to the Tech Rally?

"We'll rising rates kill the tech rally. Guy what do you say yes back to. You melt absolutely so much of this has been predicated on on this low interest rate zero straight environment when you have tenure yields go from fifty three basis points in august two one point four percent today i understand rates are still low but the velocity and the speed of the move has been well. It hasn't been historic. But it's been noteworthy. And i think we're headed to one and a half. We've said it for a while and that's your line in the sand you start getting significantly north of one and a half percent and the entire thesis in my opinion behind a lot of these high flying tech names starts unravel and you're starting to see it now in the big hans christian andersen fan. I know euros well. Mel and a lot of people mistakenly call the that little vignette that he wrote. The emperor has no clothes. It's the emperor's new clothes. But i got to tell you the close at the fed is wearing right now are not fitting and i think they're going to be revealed for what they are in the coming weeks. They think they can control this out of their control at this point. Yeah karen i. I'll go to you on this. Well i mean obviously we have been in this environment of close zero percent insurance for so long and so when we move out of that. Something's gotta give now. Yes i think. So but i think a few things are happening at the same time. So there's the higher rates that guy talked about. We always talk about the risk premium. What should the equity risk premium beaten as rates go up. The risk premium should be higher therefore valuations lower. But the other side of. It is a rates going up because the economy is improving. And i believe that. Yes that's the case. But i also think that the earnings of a lot of these high flyers and let's talk about something like google for example. I think those earnings are going to be actually much better so on long those. It's a painful day. One thing that. I have on as a hedge which is not nearly enough to hedge how much i would lose him. A day like today is the gb which is the it's tech software and its high fliers. The biggest position is microsoft. But it's really expensive. Names salesforce service now zoom video. Docu sign crowd strike. Those are all going to get hit. Against what i think of as my more value tech today wasn't value at all on sale again and again but i think that if the rates move up slowly because the economy improves. I'm okay with that. I know we'll have a rotation into more cyclicals. But i'm sticking with what i've got. Yeah and obviously it's highest wires on. They'll probably take the hardest hits at this point carfax. North cornerstone macro makes a very good point in that is their alliance the s. and hunt five hundred on information technology. More broadly and in terms of down days and information technology eighty percent of the time the s. and p. five hundred trades lower as well. This is since nineteen eighty nine. Dan and i know you like carter's work. So i mean his point basically is you can't hire overall without technology that being said though if you look at the mag accomplish the microsoft apple google amazon. They've gone sideways for the last four months. Or so as we've seen that rotation into more cyclical names so we did move higher without their real participation and now it's interesting on a day like today that you see the nasdaq down two and a half percent or so to me. I think what karen laid out is really smart. I mean you look at the mega caps and you see their value tech yes. They benefited from low. Interest rates. For a whole host of reasons most notably. They raised a ton of money and they put on their balance sheet and they really not paying a whole heck of a lot and i think as it relates to interest rates. You have to ask yourself who really wants. Interest rates to go higher at this point and guy makes a good point that yeah they're going to they're going because the economy is getting a little better. Look at the ten year chart of the us treasury. You'll we thought we had generational lows at about one and a half percent back in two thousand twelve then again in two thousand sixteen then again in two thousand and thousand nine hundred then you consider yourself or you consider how much negative yielding sovereign debt. There is in the world about fifteen trillion and you think about the corporate been john debt and even consumers you yourself who wants rates to go higher then you look at it over a thirty year period and i think we have that chart and it's just upper left to bottom right so maybe you get through that one and a half on the ten year treasury. Maybe you get to that long-term downtrend which would be about two and a quarter. If that is the case then yes equities. You're going to have a very hard time in this environment. "Um, you know, most of what we're dealing with on a regulatory level has to deal with carbon ization and and emissions. Um, two years ago in 2018, the state adopted low emission vehicle standard, followed by a zero emission vehicle standard in an effort to get electric cars on the road. The state is pushing towards a million TV's on the road by 2030. Right now we're sitting in about 35 to 40,000. So that's a significant gap. They want to cover down on how that relates the Probably your listeners is that when we redid low emission vehicle standards that was a statewide standard, Unlike today's emission standards, which only It. Cover about 12 counties in the state instead of 64 0. Yeah, we go to this new emission standards. We're probably gonna have to cover the entire state. I want to recap something. If this guy says I didn't know had heavy damage the Steeler and we can find that out on Carfax in five seconds. What? What? What? What do you think about that? I mean, I know it says if they have knowledge, and you said, or should have had knowledge, But the law I don't think says should have had knowledge. Does it Well should have had knowledge is an exemption. So if there's title brand, it's going to say it doesn't matter if you know we're not because it was there, and it was available for you to know. So if you remain willfully ignorant, you're still liable. Is that now? Where is that? What you're proposing? Is that now? Okay, You have a car that is is salvage. You cannot. You cannot register that car ever again. And if you sell a car that can't be registered..

"Hi, Tom Martino. Your troubleshooter. Well, we contacted the dealership. Basically. Kathy, a sold a car. Kathy's friend is sold the car. It's a used car and it was totalled, and we found that out in five minutes. On Carfax. It was totaled when they were sold the car, according to them, there's not one mention of it being salvaged. The law says that must be fully disclosed. So now that girl had an accident. The car's totaled and she's upside down. I think she suffered damages as a result of this non disclosure issue. Suzanne. So I talked to Mike up. They're not sure if it's the owner, general manager, But he seemed very concerned was gonna look into it and get back to me in a little while and he should because this is basically against the law. And brother sold them. I have to assume knowingly a salvage car. Without disclosing it now. There's there. Why do we say knowingly Because anyone would find out with the Carfax. Does it matter, though, if it's knowingly well again, that's something we need to ask. But again, Cathy, we're gonna wait to hear from him. Make sure Suzanne has all of your information into that same point real quick. If it's a safety issue, like there's, you know, little breaks. If they didn't know. Can they still sell it? It's the same damn question. No, no. When it comes to safety, it's not. You can't plead ignorance. You have to make sure it's safe. Nick Fox's with Renew home innovations. They do what you call the wets space. In the bathroom, and I got this note from Nick the other day. People can get showers in a day on I'm thinking, Wait a minute. Wait a minute, so neck. Are the first of all I'd like to ask you about the showers because they're beautiful showers. I've seen them. They're custom. You could put grab bars wherever you want. You could put benches, their big rectangles can take the place of a tub. On low threshold you can wheel over in a wheelchair. There's also some other benefits. Too numerous to go into. I mean, you basically design your own shower custom, or you could do a shower tub combination are more people do it before I get into the one day thing. More people doing a shower alone. A big rectangle shower or are they going with a shovel tub combo? You know, I would say the bulk of consumers there are really wanted that Oh, upgrade their showers. Space, the Web space that they they're not necessarily keeping a tub, are they No. You know, you know, the days of being required to have a bathtub in the home ability seems to be a thing of the past. And I always think, Nick, if bats are that important to you, really? You don't want a little a little rectangle thing at the bottom of a shower. If truly, you want a bathtub get a separate bathtub seriously, that I really mean that and a separate shower. That's what I see. And I've always done that. In the last few houses have had, you know, have a nice shower and then have a tub and put the top is the tub. The showers a shower. But what I'd like to ask is on these showers. How do you do him in a day? Is it like a prefabricated drop in or what? Well, nothing we do is prefabricated. Everything is custom fit to each unique space. Excellent and best case scenario we can We can accomplish shower in his little as a day. You know, sometimes they take longer. Sure. The nice thing about working with our program is that we have a new inventory system where we have certain products and selections. We keep in stock, so it allows us to get projects installed. Ah lot faster than maybe some of the other companies out there, so we're able to turn projects quicker, how barking customers get their jobs done. Faster and we're out of the rather than out of their out of their home a lot faster. That's that's beautiful to the product. It's definitely a solid surface stone material. Very beautiful in appearance on it. Zero maintenance. I love that girl. What kind of texture is it smooth and shiny. Or is it rough? Like stone or either one? Can you get either one? Yeah, well, you know, we've got probably 10 12 different options that you can you can look at and choose from all of them have different styles, flair for each person's unique taste. So some some our designs look retro looking a tile summer design to look very innovative and current, But at the end of the day, it's really about personal taste for the consumer. And okay, so as far as the The designing. Okay. Um, you have a tub. Do you basically replace that space? What if someone and I know that this probably can't be done overnight? What if someone wants like altar where the shower is and they have the plumbing underneath to do it? Can you do that? Certainly, Yeah, we're not limited by anything. You know our our core competences, you know, being able T O take care of the Web space shower system, you know, in a very quick, timely manner. With our professionals, but we can. We're not limited by anything. We can do anything in the bathroom, Whether it's really designing the entire room, creating a room. Whatever the case may be. Again, Michael said. Our focus we really try to get our projects kind of streamlined. Maybe you didn't in a phase one phase two where we take care of the shower space, though, and then we can take care of some of it. Spaces down down the road. It seems to work well, well for us. By the way, Nick can be reached its renew home. Innovations. That's you know, vacations. I n n o Innovation stopped..

Late Triassic extinctions linked to climate change

"Increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can have a dramatic impact on life on earth. It has before about two hundred million years ago at the end of the triassic period about three quarters of all species died out the mass extinction was likely triggered by widespread volcanic eruptions the amended enormous amounts of carbon dioxide causing global warming. These medieval county conveyance side in time with the mass extinction events. Manfred capriolo is a phd student at the university of padua in italy. He says the eruptions occurred in bursts over hundreds of thousands of years. Each burst lasted about five hundred years by studying bubbles of gas trapped in ancient volcanic rock. He determined how much carfax each burst released. The amount was similar to the human caused emissions expected. This century campriello says his research shows that a single pulse of volcanic activity could have contributed to dramatic changes to the climate at the end of the triassic. Our world is different than it was two hundred million years ago but he says it's a warning that rapidly adding co two to the atmosphere now could have major consequences of this. Finding is absolutely alarming

"Are we seeing gang shootings? It's just it. You've got to wonder if there is a race element here because I just feel like if this if shootings like this happen in different parts of town or happen in different ways than more people in Tampa, and more people around the country are talking about it. I mean, I think we see the same thing with cities like Chicago where you hear all those people being murdered. You just feel like more people should be talking about it. Right? And if this continues throughout the weekend, this is gonna be a big ass story. Not just here, but everywhere. Yeah, people still cleaning up from Hurricane Ada. And there is a alert a warning for people out there who may be thinking about buying a car because I guess this is a huge problem after major flooding. In any city. Many drivers in the Tampa Bay area tried to drive through floodwater this week during Tropical Storm Ada ADA and ended up with severe damage to their vehicles, and their problem could quickly become your problem if you're not careful, according to Carfax, those same flood damage cars will soon most likely end up for sale. So far this year, Carfax has reported 446 1008 136 flooded cars back in use nationwide, A spokeswoman said. 5200 of those are in the Tampa Bay area and get this Florida has 31,300 flood damaged cars for sale That was before the flooding. Oh, my God. So a lot of people they think they can clean it out. Put a little, you know, little cleanser down. And call it a day and resell these things. So if you are in the market for a car, and you're gonna buy it specifically from an owner in the next few months, just know you should. You should probably check out the Carfax and make sure this thing hasn't been flooded out. My dad's trans Am after he put it into the canal off the 5 28 in Orlando or in Cocoa Beach. Yeah. Many people online. Do believe it's fake. If you had that look in your backyard. How? What's the concern? Level there? Um, if you have it in your back garden, you have small pets. My level of concern is very high as well as if I have kids, But other than that, they don't want anything to do with you. They're just they're looking for they're looking for the next meal. Oh, my gosh. That thing is a beast. Have you seen a young Micah? No. I have not looked at How big that thing is. That's a monster. Even Diogo. I don't know They don't. They don't want anything to do with you. No, That's what we like to think I will tell you want something to do with us? I will say that I I have recently come to grips with the fact that like I'm not a scared of Gators as I once was, because you're more afraid of that at this point, because when I first moved here from Michigan, just the thought I mean, I'm not going swimming in a pond or a freshwater anything with with gators in it, but You're not gonna bother you. Are you restrict yourself from doing wherever you want to with your own assets. So you've made an irrevocable gift of assets you put in an irrevocable trust. And although you might arrive some benefit to that it's limited as opposed to being able to do anything you want to with those assets. Let's go to a Bob in Tampa. Hello. Hello. I hear I bought a car in 2019. And a time that I bought the car. The company gave me a Carfax. Which I used to decide to buy the car. And Coto is okay. And a year later, I got a official Carfax from the car packs company and I compared the two car factors and they were different. And there was significantly different. The official Carfax from Carfax Company showed severe damage having been done to the car, and there's an entire paragraph in the glossary that was admitted. Um, possibly deleted, altered and ah, this paragraph stated the car faxes, definitions of the words mild, moderate and severe. And severe which they term that one of the accidents car had had been in. Their definition of severe was compromising the operation and safety of the vehicle. So in essence, I got sold the car. Maliciously. You could say ah, whereby they put me in a car That's not exactly safe to be on the road. And who gave so I called them. I'm sorry. What? Who gave you that car facts. The 1st 1 The company that told me the car. I don't want to make sure that his part lot dealer Yeah. Use card used car dealer. You don't have that fax big company. Uh, you still have that fax?.

"It depends on which model you buy and which package and they have different warranties. Yes, and ifyou're, but if you're going to buy that thing and drive it till it's got 200,000 miles Don't think anybody's going to ask you the question whether it was irreparable vehicle or not, when it gets that many miles and the the thing to really look forward, you get on some of the online title companies like Carfax and things. And you confined. I mean, I've run into cars that people said Oh, buy this one. It's gotta clean title. I'm like I think it looks like it's had some damage here and there and I pull a car fax on it. Find out its head like 12 collisions on it that were all you know, 5 $6000 each, but they weren't huge. But they're small and they add up compared to this one. That was, you know a rollover, but it's got a brand new cab on it. What's that if I if I get in an accident, wrecked my car and I just pay cash to fix it. I'm clean, right? If you had a lot of cases, people, people take him and they fix him themselves. And you never see that reported way. See a lot of cars that show evidence of damage that have no Disclosure it all that they've been damaged. That's what a lot of people have been fighting for across the country. They want universal database that shows If a car is reported in an accident report by the police. They want a paper trail. They want to see that it was damaged and they want to know that it was fixed. Along the way. If you get a used car inspection or you are skilled enough to do that yourself, there's really no right. Nothing That should be fine, and that's what we do. We look at these things and we try to.

Steve Albarran CEO of Confident Cannabis on Transparency, Lessons from Big Data, Chemotypes, Market Trends

"Everybody this. This is Jason Wilson with the curious about cannabis podcast. Thanks so much for tuning in once again. Today I'm joined with my friend and CEO of confident cannabis. Steve Auberon Ron. Thanks Steve for being willing to chat with me today. Thank you good to be on. Yeah totally so I know by now. There's probably a lot a lot of people in the canvas industry. That are familiar with confident cannabis. But there's still plenty of people out there that are maybe just now starting to hear about the platform and some of the worked. You're trying to do so. Do you mind just briefly. Going into what confident canvases and why he started. And we'll spinoff from there. Sure so we started the company somebody about four years ago to try to help solve what we think. Is the biggest problem in the cannabis industry. which is that businesses? Have a hard time doing business with one another so. Cultivators and retailers have a hard time finding each other assessing each other quality of inventory and actually fulfilling transactions so that the problem is what we set out Saul we started by building a lab testing platform that we gave to labs for free or very cheap to acquire the supply side site of the market And once the inventory information is available we make that available to the buyers on the platform who are licensed retailers distributors or manufacturers. Good analogy might be auto trader plus Carfax for cannabis cool. Okay yeah that's A. That's a really good analogy and and basically what your platform is doing is essentially Bringing a lot more transparency to the industry itself as as well yeah yes the mission or vision that we that we set out to achieve the real reason why it's hard for businesses to trade trade with one another because there's a lack of transparency. There's a lack of information about the inventory quality. What's out there who's making it what it's made up And so bringing green conspiracy to cannabis's sort of our tagline because Without knowing what's being made who makes it and what it's made of nationwide in real time and businesses can transact in operate in transparency. Yeah and what got you interested in trying to provide the service to the industry. Yeah Yeah so When when my co founder Tony and I were thinking about starting a company of the cannabis industry together together? We basically just asked operators what problems they had so rather than rather than come up with an idea and go see if it works We had the opposite. We said we'RE NOT GONNA come up with an idea yet. We're just GONNA ask a lot of questions and find a problem and then we'll solve that problem in if we're successful doing on a business will come out of it and so we basically spent nine months Getting on planes going into retailers cultivation facilities saying what's hard for you. When was the last time that there there was a problem that you wish you could saw? You don't know how And we kind of collect it all that feedback and you know the common things came up. You know payments and banking A- access things like that that we didn't think that we are best suited to solve the other bill. The other problem that came up over and over was that it's really hard to stop my shelves with consistent insistent high-quality supply or it's really hard for me to stand out from the crowd when selling my inventory or as a as a patient. I'm looking for a very specific chemo. Typer you know chemical composition to to address my insomnia anxiety. My pain whatever they might be and I don't know how to find it. I found something that I like once but I can't find it again how I do. I do that so All that together. Let us the realization. While you know cannabis is highly complex. It's highly opaque And it's highly variable all right. It's not a commodity where flowers the same as the other flower. It's very much not a commodity. And so to bring that information to the forefront front. We needed to partner with with testing labs and we saw that you know. There are a handful of labs in the in the country's Info at the time there were about fifty David out two hundred good labs and which is a relatively small market and they're completely underserved. Nobody's building software for them so opportunity to help them out and tapis of software for free and they start using it and then that's what allows us to You know reveal that information to the market Nice. Yeah Yeah Yeah what. What year was it that that all started because I remember when I was in the candidates testing space? We're one of the first labs to try to really the early iterations of of canvas. What year was that? Those two thousand fifteen. Yeah so we we. We formed a company inmate that the team. And then we. We launched our first customer in Oregon in October. And I think I think you are probably customer number five something like wow yeah. Yeah we've come a long way since then. Yeah I know I noticed the very recently You you launched a marketplace feature For confident cannabis. So when I was using confident cannabis it really was just Primarily lab service stuff stuff and trying to figure out how to get consistent data. I think you know into that database and figuring out what to do with it and and now it looks like you're actually connecting buyers and sellers together partnered with that data. So it's been really cool to watch that evolution four years we haven't we haven't committed or or you know it's not sort of a new idea. We kind to be as open about our plans as possible from the very beginning But you know tickets a good solid three years to get to step two of the vision. which is the marketplace side of things And it's because we were talking about. Hey we're in this lab thing because we're going to marketplace one day and three years people didn't believe us but it feels good to finally do what we said we're GONNA do.

"I know it's an unusual period there were going through. And I'm usually kind of a good sport about this stuff. But. There are issues. The kind of gift me, I mean to the point this week where it was almost depressing a couple of days, and that is I have the best of the best is part of this show. And I've been very proud of that. And I've said that for almost the entire time I've been on air that I- handpicked to I wanted to be on the show and that sues the ones here. I'm also aware because I'm not completely crazy that not everybody's gonna listen to me and say you might as well buy from good dealer. I was pretty specific on doing that. Horribly tragic story on that young lady killed in the Kia soul. But a listener got mad at me when he sent me the story, and he said, you never talked about stuff like this. And I said I talked about it every week. No dealer with a sterling reputation would have ever sold that car and bypass the sensor to hide the fact that didn't have an airbag in it. Nobody I know nobody on this show. In fact, if they know that the car's been wrecked, and it has a clean Carfax. Brought this up one hundred times they will not sell the car for fear. You're going to see the car was repaired. And you're gonna think the dealer dummied the clear Carfax on it. When in the case of that Kia soul. That was I a progressive claim. They didn't tell Carfax anything other than minor damage added clean Carfax for what it's worth and that and progressive didn't want to total it. In any case..

"Eight two five five. We're lucky to have our new Boorda, Tom, and I have had grant now for I don't know it doesn't snow too long grant. How long you've been with us. Two weeks. It's been a little over a month. Now, I think yeah. It hasn't been too long. You were here training for a while. Right. So we've seen you here. You're doing a great job, man. I like how you dive in. And you have theme music that goes with it. We used to have this other guy prior to you. Oh my God. I, you know, I hope he's listening because we put up with a lot of crap honest to God we did. And it you sucked man. And I'm sorry to say it, but it was horrible. It was in fact, I hear I hear time literally complaining because he'd ride music over the live. So we couldn't record him. It was just a do you think he did it on purpose old board up? I won't use names. Drew? I think it's probably laziness. That's all okay. He didn't lie. Don't think he liked to show either. I think he he liked more. Sports. Yep. Big sports guy. He worked the Rockies for a little bit. And he tweeted some negative stuff about them. And guess what happened to that gig? Atta there, you're Atta their three zero three seven three eight five five, anyhow, let's see here. Brian burns, compass insurance Brian this guy called up. In fact, he uses you guys, and he said, hey, this showed up on the Carfax. But my insurance company said they don't report it to the Carfax, by the way, I use compass insurance. And I said, well, I find that hard to believe because anything I've ever been told in anything I've ever seen on any Carfax is generally never from a body shop, it's always from the insurance company or it's from the police or sheriff's department. Yeah. And and really insurance companies that I was just talking to Suzanne, and I need to clarify. They don't they don't report directly to Carfax. They report to the clue system, but then Carfax pulls from the clue system. That's where they get some of their data. They get their data from the title agencies. Police reports and everywhere from repair shops, and they can get it from the report. So. The insurance companies report to a comprehensive loss underwriting exchange is what it's called. It's called a cloak, and that's where they report all their data. Yes. So this this guy at hail damage. This guy had hail damage. He got it fish with PDR. He goes to trade it in and they're only offering them X amount. Because that's on the Carfax in this happens all the time. Right. And and his point. I'm sure is hey, my insurance company did do it. Well, I can't tell him. How Carfax got the data? But I can tell you that insurance companies do report this data, just not necessarily the Carfax. They haven't they have their own underwriting exchange system that they use. You know, what's very we'll talk to Minhaj value just real quick to educate people. But it's it's people get furious. And I've been there, you know, you pay to have the car fixed after an accident innocent perfect shape. You could bring it anywhere in people can tell that it was either never in an accident or it was fixed so perfectly. Everybody's happy with it. But it's still brings value of that vehicle compared to the exact same vehicle. Similar mileage you it could be three five six seven thousand dollar difference. Even though there's nothing wrong with it. Now, I've done this. In fact, we just did this who's an-and. I when our daughter got hit the vehicle total they were gonna fix it. I decided to total it because I said, well, that's fine. Go. Go ahead and fix it. But I'm hitting you with diminished value. Here's the numbers I came up with and they called us back and said, well, we've decided to total it so but in this guy's case when it comes to his own insurance company because it was hail. There's nothing you can do because you have an agreement in your policy that you will not go after or your insurance company, basically in their policy says we won't consider diminished value in your finished values, kind of tough one anyways. Because it is subjective. Because like you were just talking about your car was was rear ended. So there's probably more damage than than you would find with something like hail damage that doesn't usually drive the value down quite like a car accident because there's no there's no other damage Brian. I will I will. I will argue that forever. If you have a two thousand nineteen x and a two thousand nineteen x in one of them, the car flax is one owner, no accidents. No insurance. Just clear clear. Clear compared to one that has some form of accident on there or some form of insurance claim or something on there. It does diminish that value. I said my point to you is that it would be more diminished accident than it would be hailed. I agree are Santa Fe just cut. It depends on what happened are Santa Fe was horrible. Our Santa Fe probably had. I don't know ten thousand in damage when we went to trade it in it said severe damage from Douglas county. And because it was it was basically our fault on the vehicle we had to deal with her own insurance company in the bottom line was we ended up keeping the vehicle or else. We would have taken a huge hit on it. Exactly right now. You're exactly right so diminished. Value is real thing. Hey, we heard one totally separate. And then I gotta let you go. But I appreciate you coming on, Dan. What was the one? We heard today. It was ridiculous. How much compass saved them twenty eight hundred dollars you say when did they call? I don't know when they called them stop. There's this very recently. The very I think they had state farm a twenty eight hundred dollars you guys save this one guy year. That's extraordinary. We know it's fantastic. It's it is surprising. How common those things happen. We're we're we're finding people that are overpaying by, you know, thousands of dollars. So the one that I couldn't believe in fact, when we did our last insurance help center in you guys. Anybody listening can do it right now? In fact, I suggest you do see how much money you can say because most likely you'll save a lot of money switching over to compass because they'll find the right company for us the bottom line, especially if you're with AllState or state farm, but the other thing you guys find all the time is people that got actual cash value or ACV on their roof, a hailstorm will come through. And they don't realize your fifteen year roof day, basically have no coverage. In fact, Brian you remember that one the deductible would have cost more than the repair. And I've actually I've got one on my desk. I'm looking at right now they came in yesterday. That is exactly that it is an actual cash value with a five thousand dollar deductibles in this roof. You know, fourteen fifteen years old, so. Ultimately, there's no coverage on the roof. There's zero coverage in fact, if they just call up they screwed themselves because it will show up on the clue report, and they don't even get a nickel, right? Exactly. All the time. So you're right. No. I appreciate it. And if anybody wants to check that out just call them up, in fact, not even if you save money, but make sure you know, kind of what kind of coverage you have these ACV's insurance companies state farm, AllState all of them. They're sneaking these things into renewables, then when you do have a problem you find out that you've got to pay like ten percent of the dwelling as a as a down payment on a roof. That's only worth ex it's horrible three zero three nine six six. I'm sorry three. Oh, three nine nine six nine thousand compass insurance. Let's see here. Wayne what's going on with you? Wayne Europe, sir. Okay. Yeah. I was just curious. I bought a car the seat belt in the back seat. They fixed once or twice, but I've got to go back to them and see if they're gonna take care of it again. What does it do? Well, it used to. Unlatch? They said they fixed it. But if it don't work bring it back. But now where the seat belt will not come out at all. Now, it will not come out. How long have you had the problem? Well, they we bought the vehicle three months ago. Got it. Once or twice. And now it's to the point where we cannot get her unbuckled. But I didn't know is that actually something that's against the law for them to sell with a seat belts not functioning properly. Well, when we say against the law. There's no law written anywhere. That says, hey, if you sell someone a car that has a seat belt that doesn't work, but I'm gonna leave it at that. But I might have some good news for you. So hold tight. There is one possibility because a seatbelt is. What do you know what it is Wayne? It's a safety issue. So hold on a second. We might have something here. But I don't know your I don't know what your agenda is. Are you trying to get it returned? What is he trying to do? We'll take into that. After this..

So I started doing some research and found it. The Carfax report says if the vehicle has structural damage, which it's never been in an accident. It's never been in an accident. Not just when you owned it. How do you do are you the first and original owner? Well, I'm I'm the second owner it was traded in by somebody out of fort Morgan to Longmont Ford or bought at auction or something on the car on the actual Carfax. Would was he accident reported when the first owner owned it? No. It was reported was an accident reported in June of last year when I was the owner of owned vehicles since June of two thousand fifteen okay, but what's the date? That they're saying that the total was or the structural damage was six twenty eight eighteen reported it on that day. That's what it's that's what the Carfax report trying to ask. You is. They're saying the accident happened on that day. That's not just the day of reporting. Right. Well, I bet that I can't verify it says accident reported the date of the report was six twenty eight of eighteen visit say a date of the accident or of the incident. Let's see here which says. Eight two thousand eighteen damage report damage reported structural damage reported. Well, I've been converging back and forth with Carfax via the internet via Email, and this is the latest thing. Can you Email me that Carfax? Absolutely. Yeah. I wanna take a look at Carfax. I screwed myself on a Carfax. I had severe damage show up. We were in an accident. I was disputing that. It was severe because of vehicle didn't get told. We had it corrected. Everything was great. So I went to Carfax. In fact, this might help you out. But if you go to support dot Carfax dot com, if you scroll down to the bottom it says, how do I fix information on my Carfax vehicle history work? And that's what I did as he said. He's dead. He has emails for Carfax already done. What did they come back and say they came back and said that their information was correct? And okay, I would provide them a repair order from six twenty eight two thousand eighteen but they would investigate that. And and get back to what you're saying. There wasn't a repair. In order there mean full disclosure, and I am by the way, I'm with compass insurance referred to them. Okay. Now us auto owners. Okay. Talk to both of them. In your shoes are blue neither one. No. They're great. No. But seriously what? So did you you said full disclosure disclose? Well, neither neither one of them reported that there was some hail damage in June of last year, which was fixed PDF K and our in October of last year. So the shop that fixed it didn't report it, and and compass in our winter owners insurance, and by the way, the deductible after five hundred was taken out the check was twelve hundred and seventy four dollars. L damage the insurance company would report it. Well, they claim that they did. They would report it. I've never heard of an Insurance cO part shows who reports it. Right on the facts shows, if it was insurance or whoever reporting, you know, what kept well at least you're right on the one. I was talking about it was reported by the Douglas county who filed a report somebody had to submit a Carfax doesn't go out and find it can you send that to us right now through Email be happy to. Okay, hold on a sec. Okay. Hold on. I gotta take a break. Suzanne. Let's also get compass up because I thought they told me numerous times the insurance companies always report these accidents. I mean, that's where the majority of these comes come from. All right. Three zero three seven one three eight two five five one line open..

"Pro USA, we go to Marvin in San Antonio next Marvin welcome. Thank you, sir. Pretty shaped very much the service that you do to those of us have in the public are looking for cars or debit cards. I think. I was I was recently in Montana and had the occasion to rent a Toyota Highlander in some of the worst whether that I've seen in a while. And I go to Montana all the time with very deep, snowdrifts, etc. And I was incredibly impressed with a four wheel drive Toyota Highlander, I was wondering if you had seen back on the doable. They are number one. And number two. If there's any outstanding problems, I don't know of thing. Highlanders just been an amazing SUV for a long long time ten years or better. And are therefore will drop system is good. The other one that I think I would look at that's got an even better track record, Marvin is the forerunner and the thing I like about the forerunner is it's one of the few very few trunk base. SUV still around the highlanders on a cart car chassis has are most of the SUV's you say out there today. And I think that's one of the reasons the forerunner has been so reliable is because of the truck frame hundred. It's also there's also a huge benefit in the event of an accident, but dance your question Highlander has been terrific. I I can't say enough good about it. Second part of the question is do you have any experience or any feedback or feeling about? Trying to get a car through a sale from a rental company. If you do your homework. It's okay. I mean, I think we all know that. We don't drive rental cars the same way, we drive our own cars, and that's typical. So mileage is important. The biggest issue is the big car companies have their own body shops. So if it's in Iraq. They don't they fix it themselves. And they don't report it's Carfax auto check, and there's risk in that. But if you find somebody that's good doing inspections, and we'll look at over for you. And there's no risks. It's okay. I mean, I wouldn't close the door on it. I would just tell you to be Uber careful, unlike when you buy certified car, will you really don't.

"Absolutely not that is a spectacular car. I don't know. If you've heard me mention that I have one. Didn't know that. Now, I've got a crutch poor eight two thousand eighteen report grand Luso, which has got the difference is the interior. It's got bucket seats in the back as well as the front, so it's just a four passenger. But it's it's a great cars. I mean, there was a time. When Maserati was they had issues, but those days are gone since the say become part of Fiat Chrysler some years ago, they really put some quality into this car. I would you know, the big thing is making sure that you've got. Just gotta clean Carfax performs out on the road. You love the car. It's it's the most enjoyable car. I've ever owned, and I've good number cars and warn you when you talk to people because even I get this. Oh, Tamaz, right. I get the same thing with my landrover. I've I'm on my tenth eleventh, maybe twelfth Range Rover in a row. Any problems with these cars never. That'd be good tiny things, but you're going to get that with any car. So don't don't let anybody tell you that demise rotties not a great car because it is now it'd be founded I'll be founded bargain at one Derek. All right. Well, I. Question. Thank you for calling you.

"Who's does your your preferences for mirrors and seats? Yeah. Stations radio, and there's idol there's idle things, for example, you turn on a you know, your conditioning. There's an idol control for the vehicle. It can lose its idle Mezeray. No, your shift patterns. Yes. So so wait a minute. Mark mitchell. Ascii transmission guy, real credit? There are transmissions that learn how I drive or computer. Absolutely, absolutely. And okay. But if I get out of the car quickly and my wife gets in. They don't know that obviously. Right. It has to learn like for does it store like my habits and does a store. My wife's habits. Absolutely totally third. Person stranger gets in. It starts learning again. Yes, it does. Yes. It's just amazing to me at some as it might take a few cycles for for the transmission to learn your driving. Whether you're heavy foot Lightfoot or medium, medium throttle. But yeah. Now, you're riot called yesterday. I wanted to get him on for car day. And we wanted to get an expert on we get this call all the time you riot had damaged on and it is not about breaks. Plus, we get the call about we get the call about damage what's called diminished value. And basically Orion you're saying that breaks plus did some damage to your car because they didn't secure the tire when you left, and they're they're admitting that right? And they're taking care of you. They're not they're being pretty good, right? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. But you're wondering do I have diminished value. And I made a statement yesterday that with one hundred thousand miles in an older car. You don't have much diminished value. In fact, the older the car the higher the mileage the lower diminished value. Whereas if you had a car a few months old with hardly any miles. You have a lot of diminished value. It's it's logical as the car gets older as you rack up miles diminished value potential diminished value goes down. I could understand if something would be on a Carfax. First of all, I'm assuming everything is fixed properly at a good body shop if that is done in there's no record of this ever happening on something like a car facts. And in this case, there wouldn't be I don't even understand. We're the diminished. Value would come from Mark you're saying even if a quarter panel in the big even if it was quite a more than minor. And and it wasn't a total. If it was done. Properly with I car standards OEM party. And there's no public record of carfare centers. Nothing value, except when it comes to disclosure, obviously, we have to talk about the honesty factor. If someone says has this ever been in a wreck, what was done then then it's a perception thing. So here's what we did. We for so long have been looking for diminished value experts, and we found one it's amazing. We found one he's not he's not on the referrallist hint hint. But I'll tell you what this is something we need. So we're going to talk to him about diminish value. He actually calls himself on auto damage expert. His website auto damage experts dot com. So I'm gonna ask him all about diminished value coming right up. Okay. Three zero three seven one three talk..
