"Kapil. Open your ass again. Thank cap. There's Joe Girardi there. It's your guy. Are you having lunch with the Joe Girardi? I'm not because he has got a terrible head cold. Like you don't want what I have. So I talked to him. He's got his daughter with him. He's enjoying time in town. So There you go. But again, Phillies whipped the Cubs ass again. So here's the deal. Mike left his door open. There were tickets on his desk. It's a use for promotion. I said I got your promotion right here, Mike and grabbed the tickets. The odd way. Uh, you do what? You got it. I got your promotion right here. Yeah, you, Carm So oh, yes to in promotions came down and said Okay. You can use them only if the Cubs lose tonight. So if they lose, this show will give away six payer tickets. It's a dozen. An even dozen. If they lose again tonight, and they are a definite underdog. When it's Zack Wheeler against Alec Mills, you may fall short in your bets. You may fall short in opinion opinion, but you cannot say you fell short when you said the team was done and you can draw a fine line of demarcation for the time you said they're done to this losing streak. I saw it coming. That's right. That's right on target. You can say whatever you want to say about my partner, but he did say they were done. And guess what? 12 straight. Remember when we just said you and out last week? Did Ross say six is a big number, right? Guess what. Now you're what 9.5 back, Okay. And you're a dead ass ball club. Dead ass Ball club. You're embarrassing yourself on a nightly basis. Embarrassing and I keep hearing about accountability when you run in half out there. Great guy makes awesome coffee. He stinks right now. Jason Heyward, stop yourself. It's $184 Million Glove man who holds a good meeting. Watch him ground out the second again. I think I'm gonna puke The best of meetings, by the way, not just a meeting the meeting that gets you to the World Series championship. Don't forget that. Great Thanks. Oh, because those come every day the world's newest chairmanship. You're just going to just push them off to the side. Let's just be honest here about some of the expenditures this franchise his head over the last several years. Killed. See, this is why when I When I say what perspective When you lose, you lose as a team as a ball club. I know it's easy to pick and choose and say he's the reason they're the reason, but it's an organizational failure. The Cubs at Clark and Addison Yes, it's everybody, but But here's what's what is funny, though. It's like it's an organizational failure. But Ross is also part of that failure. Now here, he takes a job in which I said at the time of the higher I was working nights. You're working Captain Company and I said at the time I said this feels like a transitional higher. And then people said No, No, not Rossi. Rossi will straighten out what Madden could not. I said, Okay, You can't see the forest for the trees that this team can't hit and you're firing hitting coaches. And you think Ross is going to turn things around now that locker room should be more serious. It's not going to be the grab acid was when Madden was there, but that doesn't mean that equates to wins. I just find it fascinating in 2021 that Ross we talk will criticize the Cubs. Ross's name never crosses anyone's lips as many years as you as you went after, like Jim S E N And Tom Trouble, Horn. Who's Kim? And like, Don Baylor. You in particular you at G n going after the manager? Nothing on Ross. Usually if a team is going to run direction, the manager gets mentioned, but it's almost like you're putting Ross and little box because you're like, Oh, it's not Ross's fault because he well, look, He's supposed to straighten out the ship. Was he not? He was, but they also gave him a hand that I didn't think he could win with, And that's why I kept saying to you People are like you got to go get a starter right now, Patients. Let's let this play out. And if there And first you owe it to that massive fan base that fills that place to go get him a starter. Well, that Is not where it's at. They've lost 11 consecutive games, so route tonight for number 12 because this ship has sailed. Dead ass club is done. So you want Ross to go through these doldrums because you're going to get them now. If you're going to be training these these players off pennies on the dollar because you did not make the trades before the debt before the pandemic, So you're gonna let Roscoe this to you gonna extend them? How many more years left couple years left in the deal? Well, he must have signed a three year, four year deal. This is his second year. Again. I'm not going to tell you He's doing a magnificent job because no one does a magnificent job When you've lost 11 consecutive games, right, I get it. Yeah. Just look at the rotation that was built. Just look at the Resistance of the front office to trade away the beloved copies with their big names. We got to reach side, Javi. Why? Because of his ridiculously awful to 80 on base percentage. Chris Bryants an M V P he at 1 14 for the month of June. Not for a day in June, the entire effing month he at 1 14 stop with this M V P. Nonsense. Stop. The team needs a sandblasting. It does badly an animal that's what they need..

Chris Bryants Don Baylor Joe Girardi Jim S E N Tom Trouble Jason Heyward Zack Wheeler Mike 2021 Ross Rossi 80 Cubs Kim Javi last week 11 consecutive games $184 Million second year June

So we had a quick conversation and we hopped in the car to Vegas a few days before I left, and we looked And we didn't tell anybody Fact I called my pastor on the way to Vegas. Tim tops and and I said, Hey, we want to do this. Can you Can you help us keep the secret because he had to marry us when we return, he said Doc. Go get married. Don't tell a soul. So we got married and didn't tell anybody. We came home. You know, after my deployment had a wonderful wedding to everybody else. That was our real wedding. And then here in the book, we kind of dropped the bomb on our friends and family and spend a lot of fun getting the text messages because you could tell he was reading the book and whose delay you can tell. I truly believe it and despite going through You know something? I honestly never thought I would have to endure. Even though I signed up for it, I found myself in an environment that was just challenging every fabric of my soul. And you guys help me get through it. And the thing I love about the military and just service in general is that you come from different backgrounds, places, sizes, shapes and colors. And when you're out there in the field, deployed or in a combat environment, especially all that goes out the window. None of it matters. You're just there for the same mission. And you feel that And to me. There's nothing more that brings and breeds human bonding than that service. And for that reason I think everybody should should serve in. If I had it my way doesn't have to be in the military could be Red Cross U S postal Service. But some service just helps You understand what it means to give of yourself and be an American. And so two men, women, United States military You embody that service and I love it. I love you for it, and I'll never forget it. But yeah not doesn't make for doesn't make career so he's dad told me well you probably should think about a different service and so I thought about the army because I was in i graduated. I started but i graduate. High school in fayetteville north carolina and we're fort bragg rights and all. My friends were pretty much. Most of them were army. Kids and and I So i went to an army recruiter and i am marie marine because army recruiting order. How many other marines have the same story. In stark comparison. I went to the. Oh so office the marine recruiters ozo- office and madame telling you what they were so charmed. Yeah and i say. I want to be one of them. Forget this army stuff. I didn't know. I didn't know much about the marines smaller than everybody else. And he had pretty close air gods and they had really cool uniform. Let's it. I mean that's all i knew about the marine corps did and you know in the marine sims kinda thing which really kind of says it all but i it was the the i remember all all my recruiters by name and and the oh so by name and i just don't i mean iran the pf t with me. When i was it was it was really really inspiring. That's incredible. I've talked to a lot of marines. Who would say that they're recruiter. Save their life. I mean that's the guy or girl who reached into their life and put them on track. I certainly saw a lot of evidence of that. When i was at parris island as g there because our outcome into the back of a squad bay during the the d i i. Footlocker talks and man. Some of these kids come from some some tough backgrounds. You know tough situations you know and and for them to make their and for that recruiter to put them on that path is is is amazing right and it does. It saves people. It's incredible What did you go into the regular In eighty three eighty three so a lot of things happened after that of course you are in somalia and then took commands at various various points and i had the privilege of attending your retirement ceremony Guys like general joe dunford and others were your peers at the time which is pretty incredible. "You get really cool gifts from Club authority and points back. Danny. Gentlemen, let's begin with the big news of the weekend, and I'm not talking Danny. How are you, buddy? Who d How you doing, Brother? I'm hanging in there, man hanging in there, man. I tell you for a man playing hurt You sound like you're 110% 0. I have 110% on the radio. Until 10 o'clock when I mean, helping tried to try to figure out he was shell. Yeah, I know a little help, please. A little help. That's why they make Crown Royal You know, That's what that sounds like The move right now. That sounds like the move. Crown Royal in a bedpan and you're good to go. Seven AM Wow, What a vision. I would say an edible might be a better thing and some CBD, MD Mm. I'm gonna have to figure this out. That's for sure. But you listen, I realized that I am I'm 48 that 28. I know that for sure. Now. Damn, I'm gonna take my time now. Next time, I'll just do one or two houses and set up five or six. Ugo Sylvie texted me. He's very upset that you didn't listen to him. If you recall last week, he said, you should take it easy shoveling. His fear was that we'd have to go back to Captain Company. But either way his prediction was right. You are sticking, Sylvie. Alright for heaven's sakes somewhere, Pat Boyle, see? Yes, Yes. Go down, huh? Yes. All right, gentlemen, let's go to the biggest story the weekend and not that cap hates porn. The biggest story. The weekend was the trade Matthew Stafford for Jared Goff, Rams and Lions making this move. So I ask you guys by forcing the Rams to trade away their future number out. First round picks for Matthew Stafford shatter. No shot. Sean McVeigh's seat is now warm and L a shot 100%. Because every time they lose your goes to the good enough When they win, Boy, that boy wonder of a coach. What a scheme he put out today. Stop yourself. He better win with this move, or they'll fire his ass. Tell you what staffers put up Terrific numbers. But what does that mean for the team? There's some great numbers that Stafford is individually, but it is not equated to division championships and being able to get to the next level for the Lions so absolutely shot now, you know McVeigh went to the Super Bowl cap. Now you start looking at all these junk coaches, right big bays. Part of that Maggie is part of that these guys that have all these schemes, but when it comes to getting the job done, we have not seen that enough. So there's no question McVeigh see this hot in Los Angeles. All right, gentlemen, sticking with that topic. So hours after Stafford was traded to the Rams for Jared Goff Word leaked that the New England Patriots were the on Lee team. Matthew Stafford would not accept a trade to Rex Ryan of ESPN. He said that players didn't want to go to New England because of Bill Bella check. They wanted to go to New England because of Tom Brady. So I ask you guys Shot or no shot. Bill Bella checks reputation as a genius is going to take a major hit over the course of the next five seasons. Um, Wow, that's a great great question. That's a no shot. He Okay? How about this? How can we meet in the middle on this? I think it's a very well ask question by Danny. Yes, His reputation could be Harnessed some during the next five years, but when he retires and goes off to his boat When you look back, you're still going to go. The guy went to nine Super Bowls. He's still the greatest team sports coach other than Scotty Bowman in the history of American sports. How about I say no shot? It's Matt Stafford, saying it A good point to mean. What is that? Stafford over one, right? That's not that's my ankle. My ankle on it is Oh, it's Matt Stafford. Oh, you didn't want to go there because you didn't want to work hard. Is that it? Or you could take the personality. You can take the culture change, and you think it's a little easier? Los Angeles because the younger coaching Cha McVeigh all right, then you know what? No, I think that across the board, there's respect No one's running away from New England. If you have an opportunity to be there, you know that you come out on the other side of being a better a better player because That guy is a wizard. He's known so much about the game. He's a nerd about it, right. Bill Belichick? Yep. So So if village is off new English on your list, that means that you're clearly fearful that you have to work actually harder at your job more than the numbers but actually learning the game from a different perspective. So because of Stafford, I say no shot. All right, gentlemen. Leonel Messi Soccer Lionel Messi got a new contract with Barcelona. It is reportedly worth up to €555 Million, which comes out to 673 million US Howard Stern over the next four seasons. Wait. No, that's not gloss over the numbers say the number again. How much $673 million over four seasons. It's reportedly the most expensive contract ever agreed with an athlete in any sport. So I ask you guys shot or no shot. Lionel Messi is the most deserving of being the highest paid athlete in any sport in the world. I'm going to say shot because I know the value of that brand of that sport. Having gotten to go to a game in Europe, it Manchester's hosting Chelsea and then Son, Alex and I, When we were in Spain went to camp new as they like to call it where C. Miller didn't even think I knew that camp knew where Barcelona plays. It's freaking unbelievable. There's 10,000 people a day going in there just for tours when they don't play. So, yes, the money there is totally different than the money here. $673 million over four years is our dad is a ton. You know, you know he has to give 50% of it to taxes. All God he's had his own He's had about with the tax evasion two in Spain. The Spanish government comes down hard on their athletes. What I.

Matthew Stafford Sean McVeigh Danny Lionel Messi New England Rams Los Angeles Jared Goff Barcelona Lions Ugo Sylvie Bill Bella Bill Belichick Club authority Spain Scotty Bowman New England Patriots Captain Company Pat Boyle Europe

After the dollar Adam of dollar, the other half of the black and of dollars shoe X guys from liberty, the shoe expert. Exactly. He lives somewhere other than Chicago bureau, Egypt. That would be his late father in law who I actually ended up sitting and having a cup of coffee with at the East Bank? Yes. Okay. It was his mom. It was mainly the mother in law that saw you blow. The father in law worked out was there every day, but it was the mother in law that would report to him that she saw you, And he would always say my mother in law told me she saw yet because I walked up to his father in law had actually had a cup of coffee, and we talked about Chris. "The station. We have so much to do tonight so much. This is the Eric Andre Show of radio shows. All right, like this. Sorry. There's like six people in their cars driving around, said overnight the numbers. I'm getting the entire twitch chance people that get it And then everyone else is like a blanket of dollars just yelling into Mike, But that was his philosophy. He wanted to do the fastest talk show. Sure know it is watch the making of it's great. All right. David Kaplan from Captain Jay Hood, 7 to 10. We're a morning's right here on ESPN 1000. He was 100% right about something today. What? Today. He was right. We're defending him. David Caplan was right. Okay, something I can't get down with this. What's the fun cap? So here it is, he has decided was big news here at the stations, and he's going to get White Sox season tickets. And then I hear behind the scenes. It's that it's like the 10 game plan. But it z being. Whoa, whoa! Oh, did I? Is that jazzy plan? Just I had to that. I used to have the plant salute that slipped. My dad. We got to the world Series off of it was that not was that not public knowledge. On with your take. So cap so they're talking about in Danny's like, really upset. Jonathan's upset. You're You're a cup guy. How can be a Sox got back and forth lots of phone calls. People wait in there's good content, right? Cap, said this this morning and the point that he's making about this. He is 100% right about it. Look, the Cardinals go directly up against the Cubs in the division. Sure, the White Sox don't If the Sox win 20 games in a row, gets American Lee opponents that has no impact on the cups. None and his point is because they play in different leagues, and they're in different divisions. It doesn't have any impact. Thus, the rivalry. Yeah, which I have been telling him for years on the Captain Company shows the victory lap for Chris. No, no, not victory. I'm just saying, I see we're doing I'm saying Just note that He is now admitting and he's right. He's 100% right. Like people want to have a rivalry with their brother, their neighbor, White Sox cubs back and forth to me, It's a bit of a silly rivalry because they don't play for anything, and I've always thought you have to have steaks. In the games. They have to mean something outside of badgering your neighbor like there has to be Bears. Packers has meaning. In the nineties. Bulls Knicks had meaning back in the day. Red Wings What Blackhawks meaning right, same conference. Same division You meet. It's a fan rivals. It's a fan rival, right? And finally, cap is seeing what I've been telling him for years. Yes, it's a band right on the field. It's not really a right. I get the six games you play against each other or that one Syriza. It's fine for the one week one One weekend, but the White Sox arrivals with Cleveland and the Twins. Yeah. Right. And the Cubs arrivals with the Cardinals and the Brewers, Okay? Tap is right. He is totally right now spending the money on a full 82 game season. Much bit much, but we have experience. I have experienced this group because people have been tweeting me. People are there were in the chat earlier because I was watching on twitch twitch on TV slash ESPN Chicago's I do every day. And as soon as he was going through this, Yeah, People were like of dollars in here of doll. What do you think This is? What happened with me and I'm different than cap cap is choosing to root for both teams, right? What Have is choosing to root for both teams. You make the TIC tac video where you burn your jersey. Here's what happened. I grew up a White Sox fan. My dad and I had partial season tickets for a long time We had Ozzy play. When that came out, we went to We don't go to the World Series tickets to Game five. And guess what they swept. So he couldn't go to game five. Chris. I'm going to many a White Sox game together. Then then I moved to the north side and there was a party going on. And I'm like, Hey, guys, Can I come to the party like Yeah. Come on in and put your keys in the bowl. Let's say you want a beer? Have a beer. And then I got to the part. I'm walking around the party. And they're like Michael, what's in this room? Well, that's weird. Is the door on that. I don't want to see that. I'm walking. Walk around the party. Go back to another back room. Oh, my God. What is in this back room? I don't wanna be a part of this. So then. Ah, yeah, I'm not a cubs fan anymore. Can't root for both. So it's outside. My dad wants to get partial tickets going like that. We can't get tickets because there's no other stuff. We can't go to games yet. We're not buying tickets yet. Relax. Plus, you know where the home of the White Sox, ESPN 1000, Chicago and right there White Sox If you're if you're watching us on twitch, and so, Yeah, we'll have. They'll be opportunities to go to games. So there you go. David Caplan is absolutely right about this. 100% Cardinals. Go directly up against the Cubs in the division. Sure, the White Sox don't if the Sox win 20 games in a row gets American Lee opponents that has no impact on the cups. None So there you go. There is Happened. Jay Hood, 7 to 10 mornings right here on ESPN 1000. You thought I was gonna like, Go after murder? I did not know. Why didn't Jay Hood were? They were not. They were well, Danny's is Look, I understand where. Well, I mean, I get days point because He's cap is Mr Cub. Yes, cap is Mr Cobb and so now that he's going to be Oh, well. I also like the White Sox and was a great day for Chicago Baseball yesterday. As both teams win, you can be a fan of one team because he was going after Sylvia on Twitter saying, Oh, I hope you want both sides of town listening to your show. Both sides of town are gonna listen to this show. They just know that Sophie is a Sox fan. They know the caps the Cubs fan and hoods, a Sox fan. That doesn't mean people are going to listen to the show that aren't socks or Cubs fans. There's nothing to do with it. You could be today.
