"So there's this tiny town in Wisconsin called Mount pleasant populations just twenty, six, thousand people, village and life in Mount. Pleasant is usually is quiet as you'd expect. Their suburb of Racine, home of malted milk and the sight of some of America's largest cabbage farms. But that's the city now presents the suburb place were nothing really happens. Until last year when the village became the site of a completely unprecedented massive international experiment. Truth. Even Mundane. It's going to tell the story this fall. I went to pleasant to meet this woman named Kelly Gallaher. Hi. Halley. commanded she lives in his ivy-covered split. Level House my home is located about. A little bit over a mile from from Lake Michigan so. Did she say? It's really beautiful out here by receiving. It's like a very light blue almost like a Caribbean vibe. It's it's all about the light I think it's magical. I think. I even like how the lake looks on my gps. Like it that much Kelly has been here for thirty years and she used to be an arts educator. But now she's basically retired. When did you start getting involved in kind of more? I don't I don't know what to call it activism or just Kinda village. What would you call it well? What if there is a name? I think other people have a lot of names for for what I do but. Ones I I probably wouldn't care to repeat the polite name that Kelly's detractors might use for her is busy body. She's an extremely vocal participant and the town's local democracy and her main stage is this place called village. Okay. The hours upon us I would. Like to open the village board meeting, Order Religions. Village Hall which sits right next to the local white is where the residents of mount pleasant all gather twice a month with their village government to talk about all the local issues that need fixing through weeds this high in the yard of one of the vacation homes this. Like each other they disagree on pretty much. Every single thing to do with the future of Mount Pleasant. Kelly has a sign on her front lawn that says David degroot must resign and David grew lives ten doors down from her. It's an intense block and Kelly told me that it got especially bad about a year ago when she was helping Dave's opponent in the village election. The previous March when he was running for office, he sent out a press release a basically accusing me of egging his house. Egging his house Yes yes. He filed a police report and suggested in his press release that I had been involved in the attack the political at an actual literal egg attack on his home, which the police report did not verify at all. In fact, it was the the described it as as teenagers and a single egg that was tossed on his driveway was hardly an attack I was not there. I only buy organic eggs which are far too expensive to throw it. Anyone's house let alone someone I don't like it was it was ridiculous. It's uncontrolled okay amazing amazing amazing science all as so this is is there a chemical chemical releases well there is and you do release endorphins and the other thing that you releases catecholamines cut the colonies are then and there are studies about that even so we know that people that watch funny movies or all. Comedians or things like that. They're paint all the rents. It goes up so you can tolerate. If I punch you now. You can take it. Yeah you can dig it. Why because you are hanging out of Comedians all the time yeah so you argued have higher sense of paint already know it's funny. I did this surgery my head and literally half of it didn't could could not be numb no matter what how much are used and he said. Oh I've done this rate teen years and you're like the tenth person he's near the only guy that stayed in the chair yeah go for nine and a half hours of finished it when even when the pain medicine didn't work. Maybe it's because I laugh a vain you by no so all kidding aside so true. The opiate receptors catecholamine goes up an overall study that you'll people book tolerate pain more when they laugh. Also you know in relationships when you are with your your significant other. We've y'all spouse or wherever you are if you guys laugh together. You're going to be to get a longer time right so people if you're not compatible about joking and there's a good chance go compatible overall some guy. He doesn't like these chicks. Don't laugh at my jokes. That got all it's over. It's only it's now. That's that's your skin doc absolutely eight-game material material ethics and so what else can we talk about. It's again uncanned laughs. You know we have all these TV. Those people doing can laugh. We still even though we know it's fake. Even though we know we still do. Sometimes we still do it because we feel we are part of either when someone yawns across the room how come on contagious laughter is contained just also when when you somebody that he's a group of people that are all laughing us. Watch them and you start laughing when you watch one of these. Shaw Guy a guy falling into a pool and is like you start laughing quarters so that's that's again. It's it is contagious. Even though you know some of it is choreographed Zombie. There's no choreographed. Laughter Brings People Together. That's very very important. I see in the comedy club bunch of girls sitting together bunch of problems and sitting there they laugh after gather they enjoy together. They have a drink together. These really a great social events. Social Lubricant is very very important and you know what's due to cry. No you want to be pissed off together. You want to be upset again. No it's something that these very very very important for human being and again. It's not studied that much several studies about that but it's not something that and we definitely you need to do more research about you know how important audience and you know for us to laugh together and is there is there a physical like is is it poets the positives from from having a lot of laughter with my health is it can increase what so overall so when we're talking about laughter in adult it's different when when talking about kids versus adult so babies oil you're talking about teenagers teenager as a member of the the the class clown around when you're looking at life expectancy of the class clown is not very high because he is also into doing risky business. Yeah you understand because these days. There's no going to happen to me. Let me have a motorcycle helmet right. Let me do this out because everything is funny for him but we for adults they stick together and and we know when companies still stick together. It's important we know for adults. It will improve your Tisdale. It will improve your immune system and there are studies that it's it's going to lower your blood pressure. Decrease your stress hormones and overall. It's on good things is there. A lot of study with thousands of people know of because again comedy comedy clubs you know it's a it's a it's a MOMS and POPs business. You're running a comedy club. You're not going to you're not fazer mark or or you know you don't have that kind the backing of billions of dollars behind you but it's important absolutely. I you know we all watch the movie called Patch Adams. Do you remember that movie with Robin Williams. Oh Yeah the guy that he wore that red thing on your goals went to the hospital was a medical student went off. I don't want to ruin the ending goals and I encourage people to watch robin. Williams is wonderful. One was a wonderful wonderful actor and then playing that movie he again and he is as a doctor he shows that sense of humor is extremely important swing stressful situation. It's extremely important to us. Some humor and you know when you know you know. This is a disaster. I mean your grandmother. She has dementia and everything so if you use a little bit of humor it does diffuse the situation. It's I it's it's it's it brings everybody together and to use that vast situation and we know we when we do that when we are very afraid was laughing offing on a reaction right a nervous thing we know. I mean when you see a bunch of girls on the rollercoaster screaming laughing at the the same time. You know you don't know which one you cannot control it. Whenever I meet Gemini Start Laughing. "People say, well, why do you do it, man? It's number one. I like to I like to document everything that we have going on in life. All the cool people like yourself that I need. I mean it's not like I, I may not have this opportunity if I didn't have a comedy club or if I didn't have this the ability to turn on the cameras and just roll with it. This is the new business model for show business. Right. You have a comedy club. You're selling tickets. People are watching presumably, some of these amazing people are going to come down right comedy clubs tonight Friday. Saturday Sunday night in Naples off the hook comedy, famous Tom green under six show. Shows. And so, you know that's that's the revenue model now. Right. You know, you're selling tickets here. We it's, it's, it's, it's, you know, it's, it's, it's interesting. You know like. You know like. Like people sort of who don't do stand up who are in the entertainment business. Don't really think I think about the show business model. Same way, once you start doing stand up. You really think of differently 'cause you're at the people. Yeah. And they think that's also why that they're casting, so many comedians in movies these days too, because they're actually that's almost like a rockstar, right? Where you go out and you have a college tour 'cause you released an album. What other it's not like Tom Cruise touring around theater saying, hey, everybody. Come watch my movie, although I would go to that show, I would to be cool. Very good. Sean crews started doing stand up. I would I would be the first in line. I would love to see that. And he'd probably be really good too. I've that he's obviously a great performer charismatic. Yeah. Absolutely. But, you know, I you know, Tom Cruise give them meet him never met him, but he went to my, my school where we lived in Ottawa for low and. Kennedy has dad was in the US navy. And he actually rumor has it. We were we lived on the same street that I lived on when I grow up, but I've, I've never had the opportunity to run into Tom Cruise. Who would you ask him about that? Well, I've met David Letterman, but I would love to interview David Letterman because, you know who's visit a beer now because you as you look alike, just because I have billion questions for him. And he's such an inspiration to me and look up to him so because to be able to interview him and do do that. Who am I not met that I would like to meet I've met? I was I was doing a bit recently as of screwing around with audience recently, one of my shows. And, you know, the bit is that basically I've basically met everybody except on Bruce. Basically met, everybody and Dray Zoellick name. Wait. I haven't met he's comic. But I mean not to play celebrity namedrop and here on captain Brian's, the, the log. But name somebody, I'll tell you whether or not have met them our certain met him. Yes. Yeah. Good break, probably one of the only guys I wanted me on the show. I wanna meet him. Yeah. Howard Stern phoned me on my cell phone. A couple of times, the private off radio conversations, always very supportive. Okay. Well. Females would see anybody name anybody. How about a set everybody? Living in Hollywood for your offered Sydney. Crawford. Never better why saving? But he can't meet her. I would like to meet her. I'd like to beat everybody everybody. Yeah. Seriously? Have met everybody named someone I've met other Other than. than Tom Cruise Cindy Crawford. Let's see how. I'll tell you a little brief story about Roddy, everyone about where we met in how we met you, did you ever meet Barbra Streisand, never met her. But I did see her in a restaurant wants Joan rivers Joan rivers, I have met she was amazingly supportive of me. We were on the celebrity apprentice together. She won that season. Also, I did her show in bed with Joan so call you did that. I thought that was a great show. It was kinda like this. Yeah. Glad I'm not in bed with you right now. We have. I mean, let's not. But it was that line of the camera. It's been in the past. We don't wanna talk about. That's yeah, I love Joan and she was a credible legend, really next. I don't know who is, who is the person. You're most proud that you've met. The proudest person to have met. Yeah. Or the most probably less than probably does the most exciting moment for me when I got asked to be a guest on his show, and then I got to guest host this show wants to actually allow them and once as well so that was probably, you know, for me big deal. But, you know it's, it's, it's, it's cool. You know, I, I am sort of a big fan of so much comedy, films and television. So I do get a little bit of a thrill out of media meeting. People actually smackdown. I get nervous when I know I'm going to interview someone that I've never interviewed before I get nervous, if I have to go to more nervous than being on the captain's logger last more nervous way. More Warner loud, shocking show on the scale of nervousness from one to ten right now. I'm at around two. I two. Yeah. I really bring his mess you. Well, I'm still a little nervous, then it could be. So again, we say evacuate evacuate LA county. Fire captain Brian Jordan talking with Canucks right now. You're PCH web way the traffic moving along with people driving looks like the speed limit. I know that residents and Camarillo springs area for the hill. Fire. We we're getting into a war mop up in patrols as far as they were able to monitor it more. So does residents are doing better as well. As on the back end of the fire with the fire. Started for the Wolsey fire residents in seamy valley, we have ended up there. But that's looking a lot better, captain McGraw, captain Brian McGrath with Ventura County fire. Thank you so much for your time. And our thoughts are with you. And all those folks on the front lines. Thank you. Of course. Thank you have a good day and everybody be safe out there. And if we ask you to evacuate, please do yes, sir. You captain Brian McGrath with Ventura County fire now as captain McGrath mentioned some folks some areas evacuation orders have been lifted including parts of west like hill Westlake village and Agoura hills. We do have two water districts operating within the Wolsey fire evacuation area that have issued boiled water notices to their customers. So for folks going home in these areas, you cannot drink the water from the tap you have to boil it. First. Those advisories have been issued a point Dume an incidental cannon by LA county waterworks district number twenty nine and also to the Las Virginis municipal water district's service area, south of West Lake village and east of the Ventura County line air quality remains a significant issue. "Little girl for her thirteenth birthday. She was instead of asking for birthday, she asked her friends to put money together. So that they could adopt an angel. She had enough that she adopted two. Oh, wow. So it was very cool. I'm talking right out, a major Rachel stouter and captain Bryan Bowers about the angel tree program, and captain Brian. I wanted to talk specifically about something. Which is you know, we're rolling a lot of of families into this program that have never been part of the Salvation Army program before and they've never step foot in a core before why is it so important to bring them in and have them actually sit down with someone in Addis salvaged army location. Yeah. So we really encourage actually the only way you can sign up is come to one of the Salvation Army locations, which I will share in just a minute. But usually there's a deeper need then just needing gifts for Christmas. It's, you know, maybe there's some financial situation or a home situation that by asking the right type of questions that the people signing up the families are trained to look for and and just to provide that hope, and maybe additional help that they wouldn't get if they just, you know, received a sign up form through their school, or, you know, through the church that they go to. So what kind of services if someone somebody were just walk into the eagle creek core, and they're signing up their child for this. What other services might be available through eagle creek. Right. So we have a food pantry. So we can help supplement what they don't have. Or, you know, just provide them for food until their next source of income is received by them. We also do financial assistance. So if they need help, you know, paying rent are are meeting that utility Bill gas to get to work and things like that our caseworker can sit down with them figure out. What do you have what do you need? Let's see if we can get you from where you are to where you need to be. And can you give out the locations where people can actually go to sign up? Yes. So people can go to the eagle creek core, which is forty four hundred north highschool road at the fountain square core at thirteen thirty seven north Shelby street and at the Ruth Lilly woman and women and children's center five forty north Alabama street fantastic. And and major Rachel I wanna have obviously been a part of these types of Christmas programs before what's it like actually being there on the day when those families come in and pick up the gifts Christmas is actually going. There are no words now, it's actually a very emotional. Yes. Especially when you know, the family story, and you know, what brought them to that. Nobody wants. At assistance program like this to be a part of their Christmas tradition. That's not how we're raised. That's not what's you know, what the goal is. So to to come to a point where you're willing to ask for help is usually a pretty emotional things. So to get to help meet them in their moment of need in a way that is gentle and loving and supportive is just a massive privilege well in for our volunteers to so if you're listening, and you're interested in volunteering we will have all in tier opportunities up very shortly. But you can learn more about the program at Salvation Army,.

Wisconsin health officials report more cases of severe bleeding linked to synthetic marijuana containing rat poison now this week. The Wisconsin department of health services says the agency has confirmed sixteen additional bleeding cases. I recently spoke with while police, captain Brian's Alinsky about what exactly synthetic marijuana is. And how law enforcement is cracking down on it? Yeah. So synthetic marijuana goes by many different names, what it is is that human made synthetic can have annoyed who's mind altering chemicals are sprayed typically onto dried shredded plant material. So then they can be smoked recently. And we've also seen an increase in. It can be sold and is available as liquid vaporizer inhaled cigarettes or other similar devices. If the substance is illegal wise, it sold in some gas stations, and it sold online to these products what they're being sold as they're being marketed. Not as mind altering drug. They're being sold as herbal potpourri things such as that in what manufacturers are doing. And retail sellers are doing is they're being marked and labeled as not for human consumption in an attempt to shield them from criminal prosecution. Tosa hasn't had a huge problem with synthetic marijuana. But from a law enforcement perspective, how do you crack down on k two or spice products? Well, it's really it's really treated like any other controlled substance in Wisconsin. So other state law that prohibits the possession use and sale of Ketu. And so investigators throughout the state. I look at narcotics cases, and whatever that drug happens to be that's where we're going to investigate. We're going to go after and we see an uptick in the dangerous. Side effects and the medical effects of this drug definitely going to be something. I'd say for focus for law enforcement and on our radar police, captain Brian's loose scheme, important information..

Captain Brian Stayton were the first firefighters to. Scale the ladder to reach the woman. I went in head first through the winter spawn said my first reaction, was just. Kind of gathering my thoughts this is what I need to do. I don't. Know the layout of the room I don't know what's in the room I don't know where the furniture is or if she's even in there for sure the woman was found unconscious on the floor waiting outside the window To pull through on a. Stretcher, was the second. Firemen every second that goes by it's affecting our our her outcome long-term spawn. Said we could we made the contact and moved as, fast as we could that woman is currently in a. Medically induced coma but the firefighters are. Hoping she will make a full recovery we. Pray for her and hope she recovers. We'd love to see her one day if that's the case Stayton was, also injured. In the fire but he has since returned home and is recovering Silent, heroes no one would've ever heard about that's right You. Bet and they practice that every. Day absolutely They, give themselves as. Heroes and here is? A hero, Hank the yank what do. You say. You know hard to follow it. Liquid Being, from Brooklyn New York the, only hero I. Would be would be? Like a, like a chicken parmigiana hero You've always got to come back it's unbelievable Oh. My goodness Oh. I had a I had a call earlier Henry and I thought of you because the guy is really upscaling his fishing and he has his own flies. Now, about that How about that well you know that's it's I will just tell you you know one of the thrills A fly fishing is eventually if you decide to get, in time just to be, able to go out and take what eventually started as just a barebones hook put it in a, vise, dress it with some feathers. And actually fool of. Fish to think that it's? Actually something that normally yes that's pretty much? Of a that's? A, great thrill, what what, is the most what's the, name of, the most famous fly The most famous fly? Are we talking stream or are we talking You pick one of. The names of some of the famous flies Well, you know for for fishing fishing on on the surface for trout it's kinda hard to beat a parachute out of and they call it a parachute because of the way the tie is the flies tied, with a post on the top that sticks up in the air and. Then you twist the feathers instead of the feathers, coming up vertically the feather is actually wrapped around the fly horizontally and it allows the fly to sit up high. In, the, water that that's one of the, most famous trout flies also obviously if you're gonna go suck surface I, would say a woolly bugger is one that everybody is heard about and it's nothing more than a smaller streamer, that's supposed to reflect looking like, either a, crawfish or a baby a, very small gas kind. Of you know we're kind of a fish. A little bait fish so that's that's another one. In salt water the two most famous flies are obviously a cloud Minot which is a fly fisherman's book tale jig. And which you know if you're if you're a, conventional angle you wouldn't take going fishing without a buck tail Jake correct oh that that's what we use in in. Lieu, of, a buck tail Jake to be, able to cast for a flight it's called the clouds or minnow designed, by a guy name of Bob cloudy who's still alive that flies probably caught more species of fish in the, world than any other flight and, when sir, let me interrupt and ask, you what what is. The the name or else I'll forget what's. The name, of the fly that used for Tarpon Well for Tarpon you know there's there's. A number of them, that the Gary merriment actually from the. Fish lock your locally in Atlanta. Designed to fly about fifteen years, ago that has become probably, the, most renowned Turpin fly there is in the last twenty. Years it's called the Turpin towed and Gary Merriman from the fish off design that fly there's, a lot of you know there's just so O'Neill there's so many, there's a cockroach Stu act that he designed there's. A, lot. Of, really good now obviously one of my all time favorites is left these deceiver designed in the nineteen sixties from lefty. Cray which is just taking feather and buck tail and imitating paid fish and so you know there's a lot of really cool flies you know that are out there and if. You ask, me, today what the hottest fly is yeah, that everybody is trying to tie and? Learn to tie it's by a very dear friend of mine up In Virginia named Blaine. Chocolate, he ties a fly called a game changer and it's a for lack of a better term it's, a Sabil you know what a Scipio magic yeah is a very. A an articulated jointed, bait and that's what this does and. It looks, when you when you. Strip it in with your hand, it looks like it's alive, and, moving in the water it really looks like a beta. Fish in the water it's pretty incredible I Gotcha Those are the most, those are problems the, flies that we all know, about the most I wanted to go through the names I think they're, all great names they're all good names there and even. Even even your even your favorite your favorite financial advisor. Yes a flying. Out there Then he cools the BC minot, which stands for the. Beaching minnow because. He ties it on beach and good old fluffy. Has flies that are now commercially tied. Across the United States oh no. Kidding so if you're worried. About while you're not making any money with, have it's poly 'cause? You, sitting at the vice I think, they call it you call it the fluffy fluffy it's that's that's what we should call it but anyway that's that's those are some of the flies but hey by the way I. Was down I had a trip this past week I, was down on the flats and it's what's. Really amazing this year just, really really quickly is that the stripers should be gone from, the river by now and the carp should be pretty much off the flash being harassed all summer by. By paddlers and boaters and yet both fisheries down the chattahoochee river fishing. Really really well and really late into the season so. For. No other reason if you're not sure what to do on Labor Day weekend I would suggest a trip to the. Car plants down the hooch by Roswell or below Morgan falls dam. All, the way. Through the city of Atlanta you can strike or fish there's still plenty stripers in. The river to be caught fantastic That that's what I would be. That would be top of the list for this weekend linear you know. Linear the Fisher very very scattered still they're high they're. Low We'll probably four weeks away from fishery to firing up really. The top, motorbike, just start firing, up and that's, how get. To it All right well listen give me a go dog sycamore fluff There you go I want you to know my alma mater is. Still. Undefeated eagles yes the Ameri eagles. Are undefeated? Legals you know I I actually met a gentleman who who actually played played football for the eagles. Back in. Nineteen forty two. Oh my. Goodness last year I think they had. A. Football team yeah But anyway they still have a baseball team. Don't they. They still do. I think. They got the baseball team after I. Left Yeah I graduated they had had a baseball team I would. Have liked, to play yeah I think they, have a? Baseball team I. Think they have a swimming team that is great intercollegiate Doc right and. I know for Pete's sakes I know they have a. Team Say. Again. They chess team get out of, jail I'll see you later bye Bye. Bye If you got time for words. Of. Wisdom That to you go oh okay Words of wisdom from. Woman. Williams you got, ninety. Seconds, okay A bicycle can't. Stand alone it's too. Tired A will is. A dead giveaway This. One is my absolute favorite away Again. I got this for my brother-in-law okay Statistics say that six out of seven doors. Are, not happy glutton to Michelle back. People take seriously even if they don't, have the right spin on it now That sounds rather era, Ghent suggesting that I have the right, spin on it I just had my. Point of view in my point of view is that climate change global warming all that stuff I natural phenomenons that happen as the world, changes the world turns has happened hundreds if not, thousands of times over the course. Of the history of the planet there are various things, that bring, it on it may be that in this circumstance at this point in the year it's in the history of the planet that, us the human element here is contributing to the warming up of the planet and the warming of the planet. When you listen to some, silly people talk about how cold it is how could it be global warming global warming means this. Situation Yeah it really is actually quite them it just means that there is a change that's created by atmospheric conditions. That are different now than they were hundred years ago thousand years ago, ten million years ago it just? Is the way it is Changed discussions can we talk about tornadoes for second I know there is no nother earth phenomenon that freaks. Me out and terrifies me. More than the idea of, a tornado they are I can't even. Imagine if that woman was in her job and looking out the window and seeing that come at you owe. More, so than than than a hurricane. Maybe it's well if you're in the bathtub you can take your whole house though but you'll be hunkered down in the bathtub so. It'll be flying around in the bathtub jor on your way aboard you know what I really do think the wizard of Oz I blame it I I really think. It's you because it's always. On TV after thanksgiving which, is a weird timing but I think. That that's where my fear comes from just being very young and seeing that on TV freaking out from it Hurricane what. Does it for me then we can go around the room that's a. Good point Victoria? To think about what our fears are what. Scares I don't. Like, the idea of hurricanes tornado I've only seen one tornado in my, life and it was nineteen. Fifty four and it wasn't a big one but it was impactful because this part of the country just doesn't have any tornadoes Thing and hurricanes is they. Blew up the coast sometimes, they just, bring with them so. Much destruction and and what it..
