Officers describe chaos, fear on Jan. 6 as judge weighs prison time for Oath Keepers' Rhodes
"Officers describe chaos and fear on the day of the capitol riot, a day before a judge decides on prison time for the founder of the oath keepers. Capitol police officer Harry Dunn encountered oath keepers in the rotunda. He said the rioters turned the Citadel of American democracy into a crime scene, Dunn told the judge that he is a shell of his former self and dreads coming to work every day. Prosecutors want 25 years behind bars for the leader of the oath keepers, Stuart Rhodes, for seditious conspiracy. Other victim impact statements include talk of physical, emotional, and mental trauma. Rhodes was not in the capitol on the day of the riot. He says followers who were there went rogue, prosecutors say the oath keepers sought to influence the government through intimidation or coercion. Ed Donahue, Washington

Attorney General Merrick Garland honors fallen law enforcement
"U.S. attorney general Merrick Garland honors fallen log enforcement officers as part of national police week. Outside the U.S. capitol, the names of the 443 officers were read, attorney general Garland, says he knows it's impossible to understand the grief and loss families feel. So as we pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who sacrifice their lives and service to our country, we also honor the ongoing sacrifices by those they love the most. One person Garland singled out capitol police officer Howard leeb and good, who died by suicide after the January 6th attack. He credited the push by the family for public safety officer benefits. This change is essential, it was long overdue. I'm Julie Walker

How the Capitol Police Had Infiltrators Among the J6 Protesters
"So the new development is that we now have federal prosecutors admitting in court. That Metropolitan Police department undercover officers acted as provocateurs. At the northern steps of the U.S. capitol on January 6th. Now you'll remember you may remember I had January 6th attorney Joseph McBride on. And he talked about this. He talked about the fact that there weren't just FBI instigators. FBI plans that the Proud Boys and the three percenters and the oath keepers. But there were also Metropolitan Police dressed up in sort of maga outfits or back the blue or just American patriotic gear. And they were in the crowd, and they were egging on the crowd. So we had this coming from a January 6th attorney, but what we didn't have is all the video showing it. And what we didn't have was the prosecutors admitting it. Yes, this was true. We did have our guys. They were doing this that video is in fact accurate. Now, there's one of the defendants, his name is William Pope, he's from Topeka, Kansas. And he has asked the judge a fellow in judge Contreras, Rudolph Contreras. U.S. district judge, I need to have the video that shows these undercover Metropolitan Police. Doing this stuff. And the prosecution is like, no, no, judge, you can give him the video, and the judge is like, well, why not? Isn't he entitled to the video? Yeah, but he wants to release the video publicly. So if you give the video over to the defendant, he's welcome to, in fact, in this case, this William pulp fellows representing himself, there's nothing to prohibit him from releasing the video. No one denies the video is authentic, it's video that was taken really by the government itself, but we have the assistant U.S. attorney. This is Kelly Moran. The defendant is not entitled to undesignated these videos to share them with unlimited third parties, his desire to try the case in the media rather than the court of law is illegitimate. No one says he's trying the case in the media. He's just releasing the videos because he thinks the public would like to know that you see undercover cops not only egging the crowd on rah rah rah, but pushing them and driving them in the direction of the capital. It's almost like they want them to go into the capital because they are trying to lead them into a trap.

Julie Kelly and Sebastian Discuss the Death of Brian Sicknick
"Let's drill down on a couple of things. We have to talk about Proud Boys. We have to talk about this. This amazing article that I've mocked up, which is your handy January 6th fact sheet. But let's talk about the first pieces of footage that Jacob translate footage and the Brian sicknick off cyclic footage. So with the case of sicknick, here we have heard again and again and again, the president, the vice president, Pelosi and others say that police officers died that day. No police officers died that day. Only people like Ashley babbitt were killed that day. The actual January 6th demonstrators and now we have proof positive do we not that there was no violent event on behalf of a January 6th protester that led to the death of Brian sicknick. If I had to pinpoint the most outrageous lie related to January 6th, then there are a lot. I would point to the exploitation of the tragic death of Brian at age 42 by all accounts a really decent man who had served his country with capitol police officer, I've been in communication with one of his closest friends who he actually texted. On January 6th said they'd antifa was there, by the way, that's been lost in a lot of the coverage as well. But Brian sicknick tragedy, tragically died of a stroke caused by two blood clots on January 7th. The next day, though, The New York Times rolled out a completely fabricated piece sourcing two anonymous law enforcement officials that claimed Ryan sicknick had been bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher by Trump supporters. Now this provoked an understandably nationwide outrage that Trump supporters would beat to death a capitol police officer with a fire extinguisher. Of course, I didn't believe it from the beginning because there was still no video or pictures that even claimed came close to showing that. But nonetheless, his death was exploited by the news media. By House Democrats by Republicans,

Julie Kelly Unpacks Tucker Carlson's J6 Footage Release
"Whole Tucker Carlson footage release Kevin McCarthy promise and so forth. There are those who have said it's amazing. Especially when we see the coverage, the actual footage of Brian sicknick, safe and well after he was meant to have been killed by the January 6th protesters, we see jape chansley being escorted through the building at times by more than 9 police officers who did nothing to stop him. Then we have Mitch McConnell, we have Chuck Schumer saying, don't release any more footage, and it looks like something happened the next show Tuesday night with Tucker was not the show he clearly was preparing to release less footage came out than we expected. Talk to us about what you think is going on and more importantly, what the consequences of the handing over of these 44,000 hours from speaking McCarthy to at least one news outlet could be. Is this good news? Will it make a difference, Julie? I think it will. And look, as someone who I believe was the first on our side back in May of 2021, to call for the release of all of the video after the capitol police filed in one of the cases that they considered this all of this footage highly sensitive government material, the DoJ was putting it under protective orders. Weed American greatness were like, wait a second. No, no, no, no. If you're going to call this a terror attack, we deserve to see all of it. So it was very gratifying to see Kevin McCarthy fulfill his pledge really at the behest of a handful of Republican lawmakers to release this video. I really did not think that he would. I supported giving it to Tucker and here's the reason why stab. First of all, you have to be extremely knowledgeable and informed about the events of January 6th to know where to look, see who some of these people are, what their movements were and to build a case about some sort of malfeasance. They're very few people and Tucker is one of them who's followed this from the very beginning, as you know, he produced a three part documentary patriot purge in 2021. So he was on to this from the very beginning.

Dinesh Interviews Attorney Joseph McBride About New J6 Info
"You released just a couple of days ago, really interesting document. In fact, I noticed a Julie Kelly commented, I've never seen this document before, and elaborate pre planning scheme by the capitol police for what was going to happen on January 6th. Talk a little bit about where you got the document and talk about the significance of it. What's in the document? So the good, to be honest, great to see you. And as always, very much appreciative. Of your work. So got the document about a year ago there and actually two documents. There's one that pertains to the Metropolitan Police department is another one that pertains to the capitol police. So the big one pertains to the Metropolitan Police department. That was given to me by somebody from the privates called the private world about a year ago. So the document had been circulating circulating, it was leaked. I obtained it through through pride and hints, and I sat on to it for sat on it for a while. Wondering, sort of seeing how the government was going to deal with it once it knew it was in circulation. And what did the government do? Apparently the government moves to have it suppressed, not maybe moved in court, but they made it subject to their protective order and what they did was they shielded it from the prying eyes of the public. Government should have never have done this, right? It's wrong. I obtained it through private hands that did not obtain it through the relatively database or anything like that. So I was wealthy my race to share it. I chose to share it at this time because the government has long been on the record saying that, you know, the idea that plainclothes officers were in the crowd on January 6th be the Metropolitan Police or capitol police was simply a lie that attorneys like myself or commentators and political journalists like yourself who made such a comment in that direction are peddling a conspiracy theories, nothing could have been further from the truth. This document unequally proves it. The capitol police document as well. It's about 20 pages, something like that. And the first paragraph of the page, they speak about concerns about antifa and in all of our trials, we've spoken about antifa at length. Judges have shut us down, prosecutors have mocked us, told us that it was a figment of our imagination. Imagination, and that our clients were lying, turns out the capitol police in the Metropolitan Police shared the same concerns as a Trump supporter who showed up with protective gear on January 6th.

What Should Happen to the J6 Shaman? Lord Conrad Black Weighs In
"Were shown yesterday the footage of the man who was made an example of the so called January 6th shaman being escorted through Congress at times by up to 9 9 members of the capitol police who helped him go through doors open doors for him did nothing to restrain him, a man who didn't cause bodily or physical harm to any material or individuals inside the building. That individual was given 41 months prison term in a federal penitentiary. What should happen now if Americans believe in rule of law now that we know this man committed no crime or at least wasn't arrested by the officers who escorted him through the building lord black. Well, he may conceivably be guilty of trespassing, but you should be released for time served at once. I mean, as far as I know, I mean, he was a pretty scary looking guy, but you can't send people to prison for 41 months for that. And as far as I know, he did absolutely nothing. It's no harm to anyone. And so the sentence is an outrage. The whole thing's a no trade. In my opinion, and then last week, unless there's real evidence connecting people to serious offenses, everybody should be released.

Rep. Troy Nehls Discusses the Explosive New J6 Footage
"Us about what we heard in the last 24 hours thanks to Tucker Carlson. Are we going to get to the bottom of what happened on January 6th? What Nancy Pelosi hid. And what can you do given the fact that Mitch McConnell has removed from you the power of the person until September with his outrageous omnibus bill. So what could people in Texas and across America expect? Will something change? Well, I applaud leader McCarthy for releasing the tapes of Tucker Carlson. That was a fantastic show last night. He showed that there was no insurrection on January 6th and he had the facts he had the proof to say so. So I hope that leader McCarthy working with Jim Jordan who is the chair of judiciary and with mister colmer over saint Gabriel form that we will have some conversations. We need to get Nancy Pelosi in front of our committee. We need to get the leadership of the capitol police, which in my humble opinion, through all of my research, could have prevented this from taking place, but they didn't. They've ignored, they completely ignored the intelligence. So we need to get these individuals in front of our committees and ask serious questions. And ray ep, ray F is a liar. He should have been thrown in jail. He should be in jail today.

Dinesh and Debbie Discuss New January 6 Revelations
"I wanted to begin with this topic of January 6th because we got to give credit to Jim Jordan. He might have reluctantly agreed to do this, but this is something that people like Marjorie Taylor Greene have long wanted. The release of the full footage. Why? Because we know that the DoJ and these trials. Now, in the January 6th trials, the defendants are entitled to look at video footage, but very often they don't get the full video. The only get limited clips that pertain to that defendant, and that's often an adequate, because you can't see the context of what's happening. What's the crowd doing? Are there police officers that are marching toward you heavily armed and blasting you with pepper sprays? That's why you did what you did. Well, interestingly, I saw a video clip of a man asking the arms capitol police, hey guys, why isn't there more security? What's going on? Why are you guys just standing there? Why aren't you doing something? And that was really interesting because we had never seen that before. And really, it goes to show you that they weren't all that interested in security on that day. This is a key point. Here's another point. There's an interesting video. Again, in one of the new videos, where you see this group of patriots coming in, they're very calm. They're very subdued. And they're walking in between the ropes at the capitol. Right. And you see in a fire. In a line. So now ask yourself this, does this look like an insurrection? In other words, people proceeding they're unarmed. They're proceeding in an orderly fashion, and they're so well mannered, could contrast this with left wing activists who start trashing the walls and writing all kinds of signs. Exactly. They're facing the place. These guys are moving almost solemnly through a line. And I think this is the reason a video like this is not released by the January 6th committee because it undercuts the narrative.

Caller: Politicians Push J6 Propaganda Like 'Triumph of the Will'
"Listen. Germany, there was a lady by the name of Lenny rife and stall and she was a Nazi propagandist. She made the movie called triumph of the will. This movie convinced Germany to accept the white Aryan nation. Okay, and then of course we have Hitler come in and do what he did. There's nothing different here with our media in the left. The politicians are only picking out what they want the Americans to see and now we see the evidence that's out that there wasn't an insurrection. And yet they're going to do whatever they can to back up their claim that this wasn't insurrection continuing to brainwash instead of getting down to the facts of we really need to look what happened. They're covering up. This was nothing more than a coup. They took over the capitol kick Trump out and they're trying to erase anything that's happened. Well, I'm not sure they're killing them. I don't know the kick Trump out, but here's what's amazing. Here's a guy Jacob chansley who's rotting in prison four years and his lawyer didn't get access to the exculpatory evidence showing the capitol police escorting him pleasantly through the capitol. Isn't that interesting to the mainstream media? Don't they find that newsworthy? How could that not be newsworthy, Jeff? It is these worthy. And the capitol police were used. I believe antifa was used. Look, insurrectionists, people that are trying to take. The people wearing the backpacks and the helmets, that's antifa anywhere you see that that fits all antifa. Well, the best line of the best line of the night, Jeff was Tucker pointing out, is the accusation now that people are coming up with against Tucker was that he somehow cherry picked videos that there were videos that he's just, well, yeah, what you're supposed to do, play 44,000 hours. He's showing what we didn't see. He's showing officer Brian sicknick, walking around directing protesters through the capitol.

Joe Rogan: Capitol Police Gave Jacob Chansley a Tour
"Joe Rogan appears to be a pretty normal guy. So here's a normal guy's reaction to what Tucker Carlson has been airing this week on Fox News. Nothing was good about January 6th. Let's be real clear. But when you watch the video of that guy being led around through the capitol building by police, they're basically giving him a tour. They're talking to him and hanging out with him. At one point in time, it's him and there's like 6 police officers around him and they're not arresting him, they're not throwing him to the ground. There's no violence at all. Like, I don't think with that guy did was good. I don't think with any of those people did was good. It wasn't smart to barge into the capitol and take pictures of your feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk and stupid. It's a crime. But they were leading him around. They were the cops were talking to him and hanging out with them. They weren't like arresting him immediately. It wasn't like he was this violent guy who broke in and started smashing things and so wouldn't the Washington wouldn't The Washington Post find that interesting? "Headline for you to just salivate on. You just let this headline ruminate in your brain. Mitch McConnell opposes the release of previously unseen surveillance video from January 6th, said Fox did the wrong thing in highlighting this revealing this to the American people. Mitch McConnell joins Chuck Schumer and the media meltdown was predictable. Of course. Of course. They didn't get their hands on it, believe me, if CNN got to release, first of all, they wouldn't have released anything that showed anything except the popular narrative. And you know what's so funny about the criticism that Tucker is getting on this? He's showing an acknowledging plenty of violence. In fact, the interview that he did last night with one of the former capitol police officers who lost his job over very wisely donning a maga hat to wade through the crowd to get to his fellow officers work his way through the crowd without being aggrieved by them. You can't wear a maga hat for any reason, even if it's to be with a crowd to try to, well, anyway, the fact that Tucker's even talking to him about the trapped officers acknowledges the Tucker is willing to say, yeah, of course there were some bad actions that took place that day. He doesn't deny that. He said there were hooligans and there were people that committed vandalism and violence. He hasn't ignored it. What he's doing is presenting other videos that the January 6th committee didn't let anybody see showing peaceful strolling through taking selfies, smiling, the shaman, the QAnon shaman getting a guided tour by this is the weird, this is the weirdest thing. For me, it's the weirdest part of the video other than officer Brian sicknick, returning from the dead to direct people around the interior of the capitol.

Chief mangers says in a letter to his department that he thinks the presentation was offensive and provided misleading conclusions. He was also highly critical of the show for suggesting the writing had nothing to do with the death of officer Brian sicknick, who died the day following January 6th after suffering two strokes. Meantime, Vienna, Virginia resident hatchet speed has been convicted by a federal judge of storming the capitol on January 6th. The ex naval reserve is trial, was heard by a judge here in D.C. without a jury. Speed used anti semitic rhetoric and spoke of a plan to wipe out Jewish people when he told an FBI undercover agent about his involvement in the insurrection a year after the riot. He scheduled to be sentenced in May. And the Biden administration is considering a major reversal on immigration. Officials familiar with the plan say the president is considering detaining migrant families who cross into the U.S. illegally. That comes as the administration gets set to end COVID-19 restrictions at the southern border and an expected influx of migrants. It would be a big flip, while both the Obama and Trump administrations detained families, the Biden administration stopped holding them in late 2021. Officials say nothing's been decided and Biden's spokeswoman karine Jean Pierre will not say up to tension is an option. We're not going to go in on rumors that are out there. Robyn Pfaffman: New J6 Videos Is a Reminder How Corrupt Media Is
"Robin Hoffman joins us and Robin, we're going to get to what's happening in Atlanta in just a moment. I want to get your take on these videos that came out last night, Tucker Carlson deserves a Pulitzer. You know, it's interesting, Todd. It really reminds me and good afternoon to you and all your listeners. It reminds me how corrupt the mainstream media is because it's that process of selective editing to show a narrative of what you want to show the audience or what you want them to see or hear, just like in the movies, right? People go out and shoot a movie, they shoot what, 40,000 hours of tape and then they edit the movie and then you get the movie that you see in the movie theater that's what, an hour and hour and a half long, they've been shooting the movie for two months. And this reminds me of the same thing where there's 40,000 hours of footage and then we saw a little snippet from the J 6 committee. And it's interesting to me to watch who everybody calls the shaman, you know, the guy who was all dressed up is he was such a threat walking around the capitol with the police with the capitol police, why wasn't he arrested? Now, people who broke windows, people who did damage, people who are actually committing crimes. Yeah. Cost them off the jail you go. But if you're just milling around and he wasn't posing a threat, screaming it, I didn't see anything of him screaming any foul language. He was crazy. Right. So what crime did he commit? And then what about the officers, right? So if they felt threatened at this guy, clearly he was dressed up. Everybody calls him the QAnon charm and whatever. But he was sentenced to what? Four years, Todd. So I think that there's dueling narratives here. I think people are seeing what they want to see.

Dinesh Examines the Newly-Released Footage of January 6
"Tucker Carlson has begun to process of releasing new never before seen footage of January 6th. Kevin McCarthy gave him access to the video, perhaps the full video, so they've been reviewing it. And I think that this week, the whole week, they're going to be putting out new stuff, but the stuff that they put out yesterday is already great stuff. And I'm glad that they're focusing on key episodes and blowing the leftist narrative out of the water. Three examples stick out in my mind. The first one, of course, involves the shaman guy, the QAnon guy, so called. Again, anyone who watched even the footage that was previously available could see this is a pretty harmless fellow. But what Tucker shows is two police officers literally escorting him through the capital. They go from corridor to room in one case, the officer is even given that open the door so that the guy can go in, they ultimately lead him into the chamber. Where we then saw the footage of him kind of prancing around. Now, at one point, these two officers walk by 7 other officers and the other officers are not even bothered. They'd hardly even look up. So the capital police is official explanation, which is that, hey, the capital police are outnumbered. They're kind of playing it low key because they fear that the crowd will overwhelm them. The footage dispels this as preposterous. The capitol police were in every position simply to tell this guy, listen, you have to leave now, not at any point they tell him to leave, so you're in the peculiar situation, you're a guy you don't know about the capital you're in the capital. You're obviously in the case of this guy, something of an eccentric or maybe even a kook. And the police are themselves sort of showing you around. It's almost like you're a tourist.

"You have very specific expertise as a former 1811 federal agent and FBI agent with things like exculpatory evidence I addressed this in the beginning of the show but given that you did more criminal work than I did a lot of protection work too You guys this is supposed to be the domain of the FBI supposed to be the premier federal law enforcement agency Can you just reiterate to the audience How important and critical it is that if you have exculpatory evidence evidence of a subject's potential innocence and you don't turn that over IE a video of you being escorted around the capitol by the capitol police and a Chewbacca costume as they're claiming you're involved in an insurrection that not disclosing that or trying to play cute with it bar burying it in thousands of hours of video that's a pretty big deal right I wasn't just my experience as an 1811 right No that's everybody That doesn't even take 1811 to be part of this right It goes all the way This is every law enforcement officer every sworn officer in this country which is possibly a million people And anticipation of doing my show later I was doing some prep So I've actually got the case up It's Brady V Maryland which many people know from 1963 So not a new finding by any means And the primary holding from that particular case is the government's withholding of evidence that is material to determination of guilt or punishment of a criminal defendant violates the defendant's constitutional rights of due process So it's a due process violation to not give what we call and you've accurately named Brady material And that includes exculpatory material even if it's demos your case If it dynamites the case and you no longer have a case because you thought you had it and suddenly you see video and you go oh this explains everything and it provides the reasonable doubt You still have to turn it over In fact I would say that would be the proudest thing you can do is to discredit a case and someone who really is fair as a federal agent That's one of my proudest moments was actually blowing up one of my own cases

Kyle Seraphin: New Jan. 6 Videos Exposed by Tucker Carlson
"So Kyle you were an FBI agent and a very good one at that We discussed that length Some of the issues with the January 6th investigation in the past but given that this material was exposed these new videos last night in the Tucker Carlson show I find this stuff pretty devastating Kyle I mean we can all agree that January 6th we'd all like to change a lot of things No one's saying that with some textbook example of what a protest should look like point stipulated I've dressed it over and over But Kyle based on my objective reading of the situation it was not an insurrection and some of the videos that aired last night appear to back up that point Yeah a 100% So I mean for those of us who have been following this for a while and been watching it it was always video Even in the days right afterwards showing doors being opened by capitol police people letting capitol police letting a walk by and not creating a human blockade with their with the officers and shields and stuff like that So there were places that people obviously got let in We always saw people milling about There was always an understanding of that And some of that footage is not even unfamiliar to me So I know that it was kind of groundbreaking to people that maybe hadn't been following this and kind of just been looking from a distance But for those of us that have been looking at it from the beginning and have talked to police officers who showed up and responded and things like that it just wasn't you know there's two things that happen and you're correct There was a riot and things got spicy in some areas and there's no doubt that people got hurt and property got destroyed And then there were also a bunch of people that were just wandering around and taking brochures and taking selfies in front of things that they were really excited to see That they'd never seen before because that's not necessarily an area they would go to in D.C. So it doesn't mean they did it right It just means it wasn't like there's no invisible ink on the back of the constitution that says you know if you happen to get your guy who's wearing a Viking helmet into the seat on the floor of the House then you take over the government That's not part of the rules right

"Here's the man you've heard referred to as the QAnon shaman outside the Senate chamber. These are not rioters. These are people who wandered over from a political rally. We will not let them silence your voices. After the rally, they walk down Pennsylvania avenue where organizers had secured a federal permit to hold a legal rally on the grounds of the capitol. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the capitol building. To peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard. Once at the capitol building, things began to get chaotic, capitol police officers fired tear gas into the crowd, a few at the front of the herd broke windows. Someone opened the doors and many hundreds of others just walked in. Of course, they did make it the story, and at the center of it, the single most famous person arrested that day was a navy veteran from Arizona called Jacob chansley, often referred to as the QAnon shaman. The so called QAnon shaman. QAnon shaman, someone named Q shaman. Jacob chansley became the face of January 6th, a dangerous conspiracy theorist dressed in outlandish costume who led the violent insurrection to overthrow American democracy. For these crimes, chansley was sentenced to nearly four years in prison, far more time than many violent criminals now receive. What did Jacob chansley do to receive this punishment? To this day, there is dispute over how chansley got into the capitol building. But according to our review of the internal surveillance video, it is very clear what happened once he got inside. Virtually every moment of his time inside the capitol was caught on tape. The tape show that capitol police never stopped Jacob chansley. They helped him. They acted as his tour guides. Here's video of chansley in the Senate chamber. Capitol police officers take him to multiple entrances and even try to open locked doors for him.

"6th attack on the capitol building at a report this week indicates some capitol police officers may be hesitant to use force that report released just this week by the government accountability office barely shows more than 300 officers and all who were working on the day of the insurrection were surveyed for this report What were the findings regarding the use of force We turned this morning to Washington Post national security reporter Devlin Varys For the results We're finding for pretty interesting because they said that one in four of the officers who answered their questions said there was a hesitancy within the capitol police to use force in large part because officers were afraid they would be punished after the fact And overall the report found that there needs to be more extensive training for realistic situations involving force What were some of the reasons for being hesitant here Well a lot of officers expressed concern that if they used force they would be penalized or disciplined later by their commanders The other thing that really stood out from the report is that more than half of the officers failed that they didn't have enough information and didn't have enough guidance about just how dangerous January 6th was going to be Do we have a response from capitol police itself to this Capital police officials say they agree with the recommendations and they are working to improve these issues But this report is really about work culture as much as anything And so obviously that for most police departments that takes time That's the thing It appears that they've tackled some of these issues or at least capitol police thought they did but more work needs to be done Right and the GAO has previously found that even a year after there are still things that could be much better And one of the points that JO makes is that there could be something else like this in the future You have to prepare.

Trump is we're the entirety of that exclusive interview right after this don't go anywhere january. Sixth was one of the worst days for law enforcement since nine. Eleven around one hundred forty members of the capitol police and the dc metropolitan police were injured so despite the blue lives matter. Flag being carried by many of the insurrectionists they beat and badly injured police officers by the dozen and what transpired in the aftermath is that you know self avowed law and order. Republicans fox news hosts set about the task of attacking vilifying the officers who tried to defend the capital on that day. One of the insurrections. Actually babbitt was tragically shot and killed trying to jump through a door barricaded capital lease and it happened at this moment when the officers standing on the other side of that door standing between a crowd of screaming violent writers and members of the house of representatives and in that moment that officer fired one shot now the identity of the officer who shot actually babbitt has become the subject of conspiracy theories and online outing and boxing with even the disgraced former president trump himself contributing to it tonight for the very first time. The capitol police officer who shot and killed actually babbitt during one of the most perilous fraught moments of the january. "Today the capitol police ordered to arrest staff and visitors. Who are not wearing masks. Kobe positive illegal immigrants who are given hotel rooms in south texas. I thought this the covert thing was a big deal. We'll get into that and also The gop the gop finally gets on board with drafting a bill to strip section to thirty protections from big attack. Too little too late to but we've got a lot coming up today and it starts right now. Welcome to the news and why it matters. I am sarah gonzalez. And i just will tell you off air. We almost caught an called an audible. I can't speak today and Switched the topics too fast food restaurants. Because i am joined by stupor gear host of studios. America yes i mean i first of all absolutely yes but second of all. We were having a very intense conversation about water burger and those certain people here at the table. Who don't think water burger is good not looking at anyone in particular and also shake shack so it was a good conversation we we we do. Vote sex episode after this. Yeah well yeah okay. Then i won't tell the people what the actual opinions are. Because i know that they want that content so let's go to the news of the day. Which is the in. Not an overreaction at all the us capitol police order to arrest visitors and staff who refuse to wear a mask on the house side of the capitol complex. This is of course to a police. Memo that was issued by the new capital police chief that was obtained by a member of congress so they are not advised to arrest members of congress for failing to wear masks to report the lawmakers noncompliance to the house sergeant at arms and of course the house members have been subjected to find starting at five hundred dollars for skirting the mask rules. That were just put back into place. I believe it was yesterday. Nancy pelosi decided to put those back into place. Because of course the cdc And the ap but namely the cdc came back and said never mind. You guys have to wear masks even when you're fully vaccinated so let's go to the capitol police tweet That says regarding the house rules about masks there is no reason it should ever come to someone being arrested. Anyone who does not follow the rules will be asked where mask or leave the premises. The department's requirement for officers to wear masks is for their health and safety so They capitol police are pushing back. But you know you see nancy pelosi. Who by the way. Could i just remind everyone went to a freaking hair salon in the middle of this rate win. Things were actually way worse than they are now and she was telling everyone that they needed to be shut down. Their businesses could not be open. Nancy pelosi is going and getting her hair did but now she wants to direct the capitol police to arrest staff at visitors. Not wearing masks It's almost almost like this is all for optics. No i don't. I don't see how you'd think that it's funny. I love how they apply the rule to everyone but the congressman right like they get out of it. Somehow they apply to everyone else And i don't know like. I never understand how this works. It's like suffer. Minute closure is unless you're driving and try to picture jen psaki with a mask on your it in. Every one of her press conference is in a very tiny room indoors without a mask every single one of them. Why why throughout all of this time. They've been in office. I don't think he's worn a mask. One time in that room to actually do the press conference where she's talking loudly to others in a very close space You know this of arrest people. I mean there's just there's they're not actually going to rest people. I don't think but this this rule Being implemented for optics as you point out. I mean none of the stuff makes any difference and you know they. They're all vaccinated so it's so utterly insultingly stupid That that they would do this at this point But again their current narrative is that things are getting really really terrible. And maybe we have to go schools. And maybe we have to lockup locked out again and maybe put on again so in that effort. Of course nancy pelosi is going to serve that narrative. And that's what you and i had. I want to get your thoughts. But you're the you're the statistics person at the table right. So are things really that terrible. Ha i mean they are. They're getting a little worse. I mean the the delta variant does seem to be more transmissible transmissible but badly not more detail. How could you say that that's worse. Well i think we're seeing hospitalizations rice for example. Now that sucks. No one was hospitalizations to rise. You probably would expect to see deaths to rise after that. It has every other time. But it's not gonna rise nearly as much as what we were used to before. You're not gonna see four thousand deaths today like we were seeing in january We know we saw this happened in the uk recently where their death rate dropped in the as compared to the previous chiefs by ninety three percent and a lot of that has to do with sort of it if it went away version of what conservatives argued for at the very beginning which is that the very vulnerable are protected now about ninety percent of people over sixty five are vaccinated and so they're not dying often and that's good right like we can all be happy about that. That doesn't mean that look. There's some there are some populations that are more like seventy five percents so you might see those numbers and certain states. Go up a little bit higher you know. There's also sweden which is like what thirty seven percent vaccinated and they have zero clube. Dos they do there. They've actually vaccinated more people than we have Per capita in sweden. that's you know they. They don't have as far as long as fully vaccinated but as far as one shot actually higher than us but again like there are times like this something. I complained about with people who are super pro vaccine in the media when this was going on that when the deaths were coming down in january. Everyone's like oh we started. Vaccinations are coming down well. Death also came down multiple other times. It's not all because of the vaccines what you can look at what the vaccines say. These older populations that are protected. Ninety percent ninety five percent in the uk are dying at a much much lower rate which is really really good and it was what conservatives argued for at the beginning writing protect those people let other people do what they need to do and then hopefully we can all get on with their lives..

Changing if you if you really stick to that so subscribe to vox conversations wherever you get your podcast. No we're back and we wanted to know if an how this house select committee can accomplish anything so. We asked shameless hughes. He's the deputy director of the program on extremism at george washington university now but before that he spent a lot of time in congress. I started my career as aggressive. Investigator spent about five years in the senate homeland security committee. So what what did you take away from this hearing yesterday so i was looking at. Why did they do that. Hearing i why do they have those four officers in their dress. Uniforms talking about the events of the day the emotional testimony the the bigotry. They had to deal with that type of thing and the story they were trying to tell is very clear. Which is this was not just as simple protest. It was something greater than that and they want to get to the root of that kind of undercut this narrative that this is just a normal day right and in many ways it actually sets you up for future hearings you do these testimonies you set the stage and then allows you time to build up a narrative and investigations of say the fbi or department defense or any number of departments and agencies. So you have a little bit more lead time to do those document requests okay so it sounds like you're talking about how this works in theory but do the democrats and republicans on this committee actually know what they're gonna do next on the started investigation you never know we're going to do next You have a general framing and we saw from the hearing yesterday that they clearly had Structure it in a way that show the videos to get to the questions i think the dams and the republicans were both well prepared to tell a story that there was violence that day. The next step is a framing. Are you going to focus on governmental failures that day. Where the capitol police properly prepared was the fbi taking a threat of domestic terrorism seriously enough. Did dod provide national guard troops in time right or do you look at say. Technology companies and their role for conspiracies and allowing people to organize on their platforms. You don't really know where you wanna go on that but you know you have to pick something because if you go down one rabbit hole you're gonna miss the other three and so you need to structure in such a way that makes sense. It's interesting you say that because it sounds like on some level that's what some republicans would like to disparage what happened on capitol hill yesterday. Disparage this particular hearing would like to see happen. Why were we. Ill prepared for that day. And how can we make sure that will never happen again. But unfortunately speaker pelosi will only pick on people onto the committee that will ask the question. She wants asked but some of the capitol police officers and dp pd who testified. Yesterday were explicitly asking that there be consequences that that blame be issued in in some direction. Do you think that's the wrong way for this. Bipartisan committee to go. Well ideally for a commission like this. You're not looking necessarily for individual blame. You're looking for stomach issues. Was there not enough. Intelligence share with state and local officials. Did the national guard not respond in time. They're legitimate concerns about protection. Capital polices ability to deal with a crowd of that magnitude but the senate homeland security committee and he senate rules committee spent a good amount of time in their report looking at protection and the days leading up to the riot as it relates to capitol police so many ways that issue's been largely looked at by the senate and so the other question is what story. Do you wanna tell. Now you didn't know before you started the investigation. Yeah that's kind of confused me because it feels like there's already been a number of hearings on these issues that you're talking about what went wrong. How do we fix it. There was even just yesterday. Something like two billion dollars appropriated to at least partially beefing up security and funding capital. Police what do we still need to know. Here's what we know now if you look at the fbi director testimony immediately following january six. He talks about this idea. Of norfolk the norfolk. Or and i guess. I just wasn't an office in virginia. That alerted the fbi to what they saw online and again that was quickly passed to all of our partners In three different ways almost immediately. So that's all well and good except for if that's the only thing that's out there if the fbi only produce norfolk memo then that's a systemic failure of analysis within the units because many people outside including myself and other academics had seen the system blinking red. And so if there's only a memo then there's something wrong at the fbi and this hearing might help clarify whether there's something wrong at the fbi while you're hoping that the hearing on tuesday ratchet up the pressure on departments and agencies before that the fbi dod or other places may not necessarily be so willing to share information But now if you see that those videos those four officers talking about their experiences it kind of forces the hand one of the biggest barriers to accomplishing anything here will of course be the polarization in congress. Tuesday's testimony was somehow divisive. Who served on. This committee was divisive. Its aims are divisive. Is it possible to get anything done when even an attack on congress can't come close to unify in congress. Politics is always going to be the background noise in this type investigation. It's true of any investigation. That congress does so the only question becomes. Can you keep your head down. Grind it out and do just the facts ma'am type of investigation and that's going to be very difficult. They're on an uphill battle and that's why this framing. The first hearing mattered so much because it sets the stage for the future investigations. Do you think it moved the needle at all. And if not is it even possible to move the needle in in a congress. this polarized. I'm not a big believer in the idea that we can change people's minds right now that are stuck in their world view But that doesn't have.

"Let's keep it rolling here. Going to go to Phyllis in Foxboro. Phillips Phillips, Welcome. You're next on the ring septal. Nice. I quotable and go right ahead. Good evening, Dan and I have to agree with you. I'm wondering why the guardsmen are still there to cook because I assumed or I thought that their mission Wasps to provide protection during the inauguration. That's done. We're moving on. They should be on their way home. They have families, too, and they have jobs and what not so they shouldn't even be there. Secondly, I was under the impression that I read today that the order was given to them by a member of the Capitol police. That I had read that as well. I find that difficult to believe that A simple police officer is the way it was described. I mean, if it's someone in authority, let's find out who it was. Well, I believe he had a rank of captain or colonel. Something like that. So he had some rank. Um The other thing that I read was that there was a senator and beg me. I I don't remember his name who was calling for a complete investigation. And I guess what bothers me about that is that Rather than look for a solution. We want to point fingers and find somebody to blame And that's not always the best foot forward. Obviously you want. You don't want it to happen again. It could have been a mist misstep. But we'll make it right. Fix it. And we'll move on. Appointing an investigation is ridiculous. We cannot do that. With every single thing that goes doesn't go our way. Don't you see? I'm I don't think you need a very thorough I mean, you don't need a congressional investigation here. But when thousands you know thousands of national guards, personnel, men and women, Guardsmen and guards, women Were moved to the inside of a parking garage and we're basically sleeping on a on a cement floor after what they had been subjected to in the last, you know, few days. Um you know it troubles me and I'd love to know what happened troubles me too. And I mean, I'm not saying that I'm not saying that we need to fire people. But you know, the Capitol police Both the sergeant at arms in the house and the sergeant at arms in the Senate, as well as the head of the Capitol police all resigned within a matter of hours from January 6th that was totally screwed up. They did not coordinate adequately with other police agencies and their personnel were let out there and there was that that was a failure of leadership on behalf of the Capitol police. If that it's now been compounded by someone ordering You don't got thousands of men and women in National guard groups. I'd like to know why. I mean, if someone made a mistake and they overstep their bounds or someone had the authority, and they issued an order, as I said, If they said, Look, we got too many guardsmen here now we don't need this. Many guardsmen and Congress is in session. I would bet you that if they called the the major sports Arena in Washington, D C, which is the home of the Washington Wizards and the Washington Capitals. That's a 20,000 seat arena. You you could have given those folks an opportunity. Go in there and sit and spread out, Maintain social distance and be comfortable. How much thought would it would have had taken a copy that? No, I absolutely agree There was there. There definitely were other options sitting in a parking lot floor was not a good option. For whatever reason, however, why ever that they were sent down there? Remains to be investigated. If you will, or at least explain to come home along with it. How long were they down there? Well, they got down there was earliest last weekend. I don't know exactly the time. I don't know. I mean, how long were they in the garage for several hours. I don't have a precise. Oh, yeah. No, it wasn't like they would in there and they were in there for five minutes. And someone said, Oh, come on. We made a mistake. Come on back this way. We got. We got a cookout over here knew they. You know they were there. I saw one congressman from North Carolina who happens to be a young member of Congress, who, actually, um, was just elected the first term congressman who actually himself personally delivered. Hundreds of pizzas. He drove into the garage with sort of a van and a staff member. This fella happens to be, by the way, he was a young guy paralyzed in a car accident. I think so. He's only 24 years old, I think, and he had the wherewithal to purchase it looked like it must have been 100 of more pizzas, and they were passing out of the truck. And you know you've been sitting there all day. Great American gesture. That was, I thought that was really and I know somebody's gonna try toe blow it off is a photo op. But I'm telling you, that was a really sincere Chester. If you're in that situation, and you haven't had anything to eat or drink all day. I mean, you know that. That's a great great job, Phyllis. Thank you so much. Appreciate your call. Very, very much. Appreciate it. You can have a nice day. You too. Have a great weekend. Talk soon. Stay warm. Let's go to many in Gloucester. Many next on nights I go right ahead. Oh, my dinner! Hey, Manny. Take me off speakerphone. Yeah, I never should have a sense speaker Focus. Sometimes people pressed the wrong button and we lose your your on the ring Central nights. I got a call on line. What do you think of this many planning? I don't think they were thinking of planning on all the photo walks afterward because all the celebrities We're gonna need that. I mean, I was laughing because that lived on an aircraft carrier. We had full tables. Foosball pinball machines, bubble hockey. I was on an aircraft carrier now to get those guys out right afterwards. That's what they were supposed to do. Just return until your vehicle so they go home. Get a good shower. What The delays..

"In about those involved some We've learned our believers in the cult conspiracy. Q and on one was a gold medalist from team U. S. A, and many were finding out our law enforcement officials and firefighters tasked with protecting American citizens. Some are also members of the military for the latest on what we know about those who stormed the capital. Here's a B C's Martha Raddatz. Martha, You've been tracking these people from the very beginning, looking at pictures talking to law enforcement. Who were these people who attack the capital? You had a vast array of people there, but all of them extremist extreme Trump supporters saying that Joe Biden didn't win the election. You had militia members. You had armed individuals. In that crowd. You had people in tactical gear. There were a number of veterans I saw, which is so disturbing law enforcement. There were some former firefighters, for instance, one of them now charged with heaving and £50 fire extinguisher. At law enforcement. It was a vast array of angry, frenzied people in a mob. You've covered things like this in other countries. Compare that to what you saw last week in Washington and the people that they are now uncovering any similarities. I have Been overseas in in conflicts. But you are with the Americans to watch the capital understand each toe. Listen to what some of these demonstrators were saying that they had a right to be there and going after law enforcement with such vigor and know they lost a Capitol police officer, But a lot of those officers up there could have lost their lives. They dragged police officers out of the building, beating them with the polls, carrying an American flag kicking and punching them. It is just incomprehensible that this would happen on American soil. Like people who have been fed a bunch of lies. 20,000 National Guard troops in Washington D. C. Now what are they saying about protecting the U. S Capitol from U. S citizens? It is a really difficult position for the National Guard to be, and I think people forget that these are citizen soldiers. They were called up from their homes to come in and protect the capital and that kind of Power. That kind of presence makes people feel really good. But on the other hand, these air troops that are not Trained very consistently in law enforcement. These are people who help in humanitarian situations. Generally, even on January, 6th, the National Guard was helping the police traffic stops. So this is a completely unprecedented situation. You've got them. Trying to protect the nation's capital. From what what may well be their neighbors. Finally, Martha, I watched you throughout the day on Wednesday and was watching you because you were out in the streets and and saw people surrounding you steps being taken coming up for next week for the inauguration. It's a scary time you've been in scary places before. Can you compare that? It's a dangerous situation, but I think one of the hardest parts here is because it's so personal. The president and many of supporters have been calling the press the enemy of the people. The press is a target. No question, and I felt it up there and the idea that someone is shouting your name and wanting other people to run over. Just around you Those air really dangerous, dangerous situations, and you just have to keep your cool and depend on your crew and depend on your own instincts and hope those fellow Americans don't really go after you, Martha Raddatz. Nobody better than you. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Now, with the focus on Washington, shifting back and forth between the impeachment and security President Trump took a trip to Texas this week to promote his administration's immigration policies..

"It was a terrifying experience. I was in the chamber when the Capitol police locked us in with the senators. I I could hear the show from outside. I've never been in that way that the Capitol police Came out of the phalanx or ah organized enforcement and push people back. They deployed paint ball guns and pepper spray. Unfortunately, it took some time restraint right in the eye, but that was too close to the building on was not able to retreat because of the crowds behind us. Look, this is not what democracy looks like. This is what totalitarianism looks like. I'm the foreign affairs reporter for CBS. I've covered dictators. I've been in the room with them. You can see hundreds, if not thousands. Of protestors supporting President Trump clashing with police. Many police are armed. They have long guns were tactical gear summer covering their ears. It's unclear whether that's because of the floors. Of the crowds. And so we are there, and there are Capitol police officers on the floor. Barricading up the door to enter the house chamber with benches on tables and just standing in a zoo. People on the other side.

We don't know what this is about what we are looking into. Right now. CNN reporting the feds are looking into Trump's role in inciting insurrections. And so let me let me just say, What could that mean? I don't know. Charges? Yes, but that would mean for impeachment purposes. Vast. What's cool? I don't 80 88 10 is the telephone number 80 88 10. All right, let's go to the phones. Because if Kayleigh mcenany begins talking, we're gonna monitor it. It was just the same Bs. We're not gonna take it. If, however she resigns, or if she's there to tell us something that actually means anything like the president is resigning. Then, of course, we'll go there instantly. And it is supposed to happen in a little less than 10 minutes, so we'll keep you abreast of what's happening. In the meantime, let's go to your phone calls. 80 88 10 is the telephone number 80 88 10 Davis calling from Chico Hey, Dave. Welcome to K G O. Hey, guys, You sound like you're having a good time. Too much Good fun. You know, there's no place that patent I would rather be than right here with you, aren't you? I'd rather be with my Children. But I do enjoy John's company, and when we argue, you know, it's pretty fun, and we mean it. It's not fake. But you know, we really care about each other and respect one another and brought me lunch today. So believe me Bad turkey sandwich plane on wheat bread. That's right. Dry gross. Wait. You're right about that, too. All right, All right. Listen, I got to tell you, John, you I listened to you and you take on some of the most up to so aggressive people and handle them so well, This is what talk radio is supposed to be. I hope you're not referring to me. No, I'll get to you in a minute. But this is what talk radio is supposed to be. Our community can freely talk. He talks to the other side. He hears everybody side Pat. You do the same thing. Sometimes you get a little hot, but that's good. Uh, but I got to say your your producer asked me to comment on the topic. I'd like to comment on three topics very quickly. One. He asked me about the Capitol police that was coming. And failure that was not complicity. It was incompetence. They've known about this. For several months. They've heard the rhetoric. A Federal protective service in the Capitol police fell down on the job of D. C fell down on the job. It was let me just say there's a couple of things that would make one wonder if there aren't some Capitol police officers who need to be immediately to spit dismissed. One of the people who attacked the Capitol building was inside without authorization. Um, he, the Capitol police officer allowed himself to be included in a selfie took a selfie with the guy that we talked about That happened is just a stone. He should be fired. And then there was another. There was somebody else. And I don't know the reasoning for this, But I'd like the Capitol police to tell us about it where they had people behind the barricades, and they opened the barracks. Paid to allow them in to that to the restricted area, So I don't know why they did that. But I'd like an explanation because maybe those people also should be fired for incompetence. There's an investigation going on about that, Pat. We talked about it last night. Absolutely very disturbing. So you're back. I'm gonna fall back on an old onion here. We got a few bad apples. Okay. We got a few bad apples on the whole. This was a command failure. Okay, The second thing I'd like to address On the third thing. You've already talked about this, So I want to go to the second thing I I have been looking at the congressman who represents the district in which I live. This individual has not even addressed his seditious reasoning for joining the football that is trying to create I couldn't talk in this country now. I'm not. I don't know. I guess I can't mention him by name. I shouldn't do that right? No, of course you can sure like an okay Because I was gonna say if you're in the wishing area and you're represented by someone who does Chico Redding, Truckee and Susan Ville. That's the congressman that we need to really know who named him Go ahead. You're saying this Douglas Malta, Okay. And you think he needs to be recalled to Moodley Hey, has not addressed his. Is that his seditious actions with his constituents which I saw him on the television the oven, I say I got this work from my constituents told me to do this. I didn't know. You see, Here's the thing that I want to really put across here because the other thing you've covered you beat to death, But the thing I want to get across, have not been involved in politics for years. I used to be an activist in the sixties. I'm that old. Okay, I have stay. I have voted. I have done my civic duty. Now I'm going to go a step further. I am going to find and seek out people in those jurisdictions who wish to join a petition to recall Doug Lem Alpha. He needs to be gone. We cannot wait. He's a tradition is a sense that he's a sedation ist Well, you know what I would like you to keep in touch Dave in and tell us how your recall if it goes what you're talking about where he says that he's responding to his constituency. That's not unusual. Ah, lot of the people who made those same statements, you know, that's how they put the blame on their constituents. They're blaming they're They're making them responsible for their behaviors because I'm so accountable to my constituents. The fact of the matter is the people that they are telling. The people are Excuse me. The people who are telling them you can't are you have to. You have to stand up against this. These election results are the people who they have been telling the election results are fraudulent, and then they turn around and they say, Oh, but they're telling me it's fraudulent where you told them that the first place and they believed you, and now you're using that as an excuse not to accept the legitimate results of an election. It's ridiculous. Not just overnight. Let's get the names. The Republicans here in California. Ken Calvert, Mike Garcia, Darryl Aisa. Dog LaMotta, Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes and, of course, J over Nulty. So these are Representatives in Congress representing the state of California and their names and their pictures are posted. On my Facebook page. I think on Pat's Facebook page and McKay Geo website. Yeah, OK, Listen, what we're gonna do when Kayleigh mcenany takes the microphone. We're gonna go ahead and go there. Just in case she has something good, good or important, necessary stress to hear whatever. But if it's seriously if it's just gonna be the same nonsense, we're gonna pull out. But we don't miss anything. So once it starts, we will take you there. Okay. You guys good with that? Okay, Good. Thank you. Because that on January 5th, she issued a statement criticizing, just slamming and tifa. And so it'll be interesting if she also has another statement today, where they slammed the insurrectionists. I tend to doubt it. 80 88 10 is the telephone number 80808, 10 and John. I'm getting a lot of people who are sending me information about why you're wrong about about whether the president can pardon himself. Oh, we don't know the answer yet, but the president is going to try to do just that. And there are legal opinions which say he can and let me tell you something, Pat. We're not only gonna debate the pardon issue, particularly Donald Trump. What? What happens when he pardons his Children? What happens when he pardons key members of his staff? That is going to be an issue. There's no dispute of the president's power on those issues. The argument is whether.

We know that the current president must be held accountable, but this unprecedented attack on our democracy. What happened yesterday is what he wanted to happen. And we must not underestimate the damage he going to to our nation and our democracy over the next two weeks, the secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy, says there are some new precautions in place today. News the woman who was shot and killed by police yesterday, has now been identified as actually Babbitt, an Air Force veteran who was part of a mob that pushed into the Capitol building. Meantime, the former chief of D. C s police force says the apparent lack of preparedness by Capitol police was in stark contrast to the way police handled the black lives matter. Protests over the summer. Former D. C. Police chief Charles Ramsey said Capitol police failed themselves and the country by not being ready. And when you look at what happened over the summer during a protest with black lives matter and others you saw cops everywhere. Do you think that the fact that most of these people were white changed the police response or at least preparedness for trouble? When you look at what took place and compare the two there's clearly a double standard now whether it was intentional or whether it was accidental, But it's two different approaches. And Ramsey pushed back against comments from President elect Biden and members of Congress that the violent takeover is not who we are exactly what we have become. This is where we are right now. At this point in history log, consistent double you tell, P knows DC's chief legal officer is also sharing his concerns about the differences and police response from this summer to the events at the Capitol. Our federal partners let us down. That's what D C attorney general Karl Racine says about the federal response around the capital that failed to stop rioters from breaking windows and running into the building during an interview on MSNBC, Racine compared that lax response to the one we saw last year when black lives matter was to protest Remember national guards from 20 States. What's your view of the events as a dizzy unfolded from from where you said I was on the house floor. I was one of the people set to speak. And so I was sitting on the house floor. I, uh, First thing I saw was the Capitol police plainclothes Capitol police and supported the speaker. From the chair way, continue with paintings. But few minutes the Capitol police done announced.
