"Are thrilled to be joined today by wilderness specialists and the defacto landscape photographer for the bureau of land management bob wick. If you have ever admired the public land's imagery in one of our research reports. Chances are you are looking at a photo taken by bob wick and although bob may not be aware of his rockstar status outside the bureau the center for western priorities and many other conservation organisations rely on his photographs to help us communicate about the importance of public lands across the country. His work has also been featured on postage stamps commemorating america's wild and scenic river system. If you look up any number of blm lands on wikipedia. You probably find bob wick photograph there as well and i have to break the news. Unfortunately that bob is retiring at the end of this month. He agreed to join us here on the podcast to share some insight into why he is so good at what he does. And how he got here in his remarkable career. So bob wick. Welcome to the landscape. Well thanks for having me. And thanks for that very gracious introduction. I really appreciate it. I want to start with the basics. I wanna know how a guy who grew up in western pennsylvania. You're earned two four street degrees in the mid atlantic region. And then you find your way somehow to l. office in canyon city colorado writing wilderness. Study reports. how'd you. How'd you land there. Well you know when i was younger. The four service was kind of the go-to agency for forestry majors. Natural resource specialists and going to school. With both penn state and virginia tech. All of our textbooks would always have this little paragraph with the end of a chapter saying. Oh yeah and there's this. Other federal agency the the vietnam that manages more federal land than any other agency and and they have forced resources to period. That was it now. So it was a totally unknown agency to me But actually when i was in grad school one of my Professors new personnel in canyon city. And they were looking for a temporary and employee and i put in for the position thinking. Wow i always wanted to be out west. I'd never been less than mississippi so landed in colorado right at the tail end of the wilderness study process so It was a great way to go west. I drove my pickup truck out and haven't been back since other than for visits. And when when are we talking about there when you started. This was in march of nineteen eighty eight so over thirty three years ago. So i mean that's one of the things we're going to get to. I think is how the agency has evolved over those years. But start with your work as wilderness specialist. What does your day to day. Life look like working for the agency on wilderness issues. Well right now. I'm i worked for our headquarters office. i've been here for about seven years now but i've I only took the job on the condition that i could stay out west back when our headquarters was in dc. So i've always been based out of sacramento. But i did a lot of trouble shooting whenever problems. Come up with field offices or state.

"You wouldn't have gotten any sleep. No no Yeah it would have been it. Would have that kind of thing would stick with you for while i mean we go ahead. It sounds like those. Tv shows era. I don't have. they had straight. Yeah they had it. In britain. When i was living there. Do they have an american version as well. Yeah they do they do. I don't know if it's still on if it gave me. Yeah but similar sort of thing an offenders and taking them i guess they got permission to take them to a prison and they kind of left them there for a weekend. I mean obviously there were watched but Right scared straight programs. I thought that was kinda cool. Yes so that didn't happen. The teachers were really disappointed in the kids. Were like you were going to do what but they did. Get us so. We drove down to canyon city colorado in the school buses. And we were gonna get a tour of the maximum security prison for men but the thing is when we arrived. The whole prison was on lockdown. Because riots god so the the warden said no way very quickly the the the teachers got huddled up and they said you know. There's a women's prison just up the road here and so they they. They made some calls and they got us in and they arranged for us to have a tour of the women's prison and it was fascinating right so the the men's prison was this. You know nineteenth century cinder block stone stone block. Ancient fucking thing. That just looked awful just from the outside right. The women's prison was like a fucking college dormitory. And i'm not even exaggerating. It was modern. It was clean it. The women had rooms to themselves with fucking doors on them. Not not bars doors with. Maybe maybe it was a minimum security and maybe the guys were like a maximum. I don't know the definitely max. Okay door or suggests like really minimal. Security heard worse. Yeah seriously i've seen dormitories. That were less nice. Wow and they had. Tv's and all kinds of books and shit in there and their cells and we got to the broken up into small groups and and the the woman who was taken us around was a probably in her thirties. Read had not too bad looking. Actually in one of the guys in the group was kind of like hey and eventually worked up the courage to ask near the end. So what are you in for and she goes. I'm murdered my husband. And that was the last we heard from him on the tour. I mean he just shut read up and moved to the back the group and so clearly not a minimum security right. I mean you know. There's i learned a lot about the inequality in the judicial system between men and women on in those classes. And it's if anything gotten worse the men live in a shithole hellhole and the women live in as effectively dorms with a fence around it. And the you know they Women get convicted arrested Even and sentence at a far far lower rate than men do for the exact same things. So let's fight for equality and get women in jail more and longer.

"Labor Day weekend. Beautiful out here in Atlanta Georgia Lake Lanier. Yeah. Yeah, it's. It's pretty nice. are going to be a little rain on the Gulf Coast But they should have a pretty good weekend and if you are going to the beach, please pay attention to the RIP current warnings I, mean probably not real heavy this weekend. But whenever those flags are up to tell you to stay out of the water, it's a pretty good idea how some Gal lost her life this week at down in the beach China save other swimmers that had caught caught up in a rip current. So rip comments on nothing to mess with. Anyway, we toll free at eight, hundred, three, five, three, five, nine, seven. Let's go to Canyon City Colorado listening to us on Kiro Elon. We got our Buddy Rodney Rodney has a question about antique graders Rodney Hello. Hello how you doing? All right. What's going on? I I got an antique greater. And it's non motorized. Everything was was manually operated. And I been been reworking the frame on it, having to weld it and everything to reinforce it. And I. And I want to Motorize it. Because I'm thinking about putting a power train on it. and. And SET UP A. Oh. Drive sprocket. So, it'll turn the wheels. Now somebody. Somebody was telling me that. I don't have to go through all that work. I can just use. For. Instance. Afford. What is it A. Ford Small Ford pickup truck Ranging Ranger Ranger too I. Think. And they said just just do that. 'cause we if you put a drive sprocket on its lowering your gear. The. Drive. You're you're reducing the. To. Be. Production. Forget for Garrett it depends that's going to depend on the drive sprocket driven sprocket. The. Smaller of the drive sprocket is the low you gear ratio is. So if you fabricating, you can pretty much get whatever sprocket you want. But when they're talking about the range of they're talking about using the little four cylinder and the transmission. Okay but how you GonNa Hook it to the drive mechanism on the greater. is to get an axel. Axel and everything you know they'll right on back from the engine to the. To a drive axle. And I kind of disagree with being able to use. I don't want to go through the work of getting a a a ranger to up because I feel that it's it's And they said everything is in Torque because when you when you do that drive sprocket. And It's deep reduction. It's all torque. Would such thing work on that. Because I was thinking. I would 'cause I've got a An old? Dodge Ranger Dodge Dodge Ram Which is A bigger more powerful engine and drive train on us and I was thinking about using that. Well if you got that, you can go ahead and use that. You can always just he's still got a couple, the output shaft of the transmission to the drive mechanism on the greater is going to have to be somewhere you couple that up. But when you use, if you use the engine and transmission, it's gotTa talk murder. Then you've got you know you can stop and start without having to disengage and not a work right and then again you figure you gary show if you have an output shaft sprocket, then a chain drive into the drive sprocket. An easily change rockets and chain to change the gear ratio if you don't like the performance. So using SAN thing is a. ranger to would work for power and everything 'cause heavy greater. It's it's not light. And he's got a lot of steel on it with an eight-foot blade on it. Right. And probably need more than that little four cylinder. If you got to. What's Dodge Ram probably a three eighteen engine. Yeah. Yeah. Thinking about putting both front and Rear Dr Arnn it. Well. There you go. You already got the truck. So get your welder out and get some metal and go to town. Okay. Yeah but as far as the The. I was thinking about doing straight inline like a tractor. Okay and But. But they said no I. could just use the drive train which with the Dr the All, I'm trying to think of the thing what turns your differential. Yeah and and they said, no, just a drive shaft with the with the universals would work and I kinda think that would be too late. Now now it should that should work fine. Just don't me. You're going to probably have to cut drive shaft the length. And have shortened because you're not going to have a lot of room probably and like I say what else in it's hard to say if you go to a good drive shop, tell them what want a thick driveshaft and let them build one foyer. I. I. Appreciate the phone call buddy. Good luck with your project send us some pictures when you get it done it sounds like an interesting project. I folks. It's fifteen minutes after the hour listened to Sam in San Right here on am nine twenty, the answer. This is Sam's garage. WE'RE GONNA go to Strap Connecticut and talk to. Buddy Jo who's got two thousand and three S ten. Got Annoys what's going on Joe. Warning. Same how you guys doing it's been a while since I've talked to. Yeah. We're doing great. Hope you are to. Oh, definitely, it's nice up here today beautiful So am I I got a two thousand, three S. ten zero to pick up. And I started getting a noise in the drive train. Effectively, it's periodic with the rotation of the tires and it's kind of like a while while type of noise and I thought it was tires at first. I took it in shop. Had Him rebalancing checked out? They said the tires were fine. I've also replaced them one at a time in drove to see if it was specifically attire no change. I did discover that the Bushings, my rear springs for bad when I went to replace them, I found at the springs were broken. So just had those replace. So the rarely springs new. News to sound still there I checked front wheel bearings in back axle bearings and I don't feel any roughness any problem with it. And if you if you go load to load. It doesn't it doesn't vary. So if I if I can go left to right, it doesn't get worse like if I put load on one side or the other, but it starts about. Thirty miles an hour and it gets worse as you progressively go and It's just a Wiwa and it's.

"Least there's a there's a bit outside of of their own head. That society wants support. Stamina is willing to accept them and wants to help them through their their trauma I mean I've been I've been impressed by the. The amount of of socialization that has happened in popular culture with the normalization of PTSD for soldiers, understanding that they experience that trauma, and like and embracing that in accepting that for that for people who've been incarcerated in solitary. There's nothing but like stigma and disdain for those people, so not only are they kind of struggling with the loss of dignity, shame that they have internally, but externally as a society. If people are even aware of this at all, their their reaction is usually wind revolt revolted and discussed so the. Kind of shame, just magnesite. From both the external and internal factors. Shame and immoral injury. We've been hearing more and more about moral injury. I think it'd be interesting to talk more about the conditions. What it's like in Solitaire and I know from reading your book that there is variation that it can be really different. In different facilities I was wondering though since the stories in your book are so powerful if you could give just maybe one example of the kinds of conditions that you've learned about through. A bit of a summary of one of stories that you've heard Schorr. Lemme, tell people kind of wet. The big scope isn't. Down I think to Time Fatten story in New York, my client in the lawsuit person I knew quite well and also a place where I got to see personally. What though solitary cells cells look like so as you mentioned? Debbie Solitary look like a lot of different things throughout. Various parts of the country it can be everything from your conception of like Dungeon. There are solitary confinement units in Missouri for example that are dark floors with nothing but a continent in its in the basement. Of of the prison units, there's literally no sunlight there all the way to the facilities that we have here in in Canyon City Colorado, the federal facilities which were purpose built just a couple of decades ago for solitary confinement, so they're shiny, new cinder block buildings with remote control operated doors. And they're. They're the kind of modern manifestation of this form of torture and Between, but the common defining feature guardless of how the solitary cell looks or feels, is the near total deprivation of meaningful human interaction. In, New York what the solitary confinement unit that Tanya. was held in is part of a cookie cutter set of units that York built in the nineteen nineties in response to kind of tough on crime. Push call the shoe. Two hundred is called issue two hundred because there are two hundred. Two hundred people can be held in this unit. Anyone's high and they bill I think. Maybe around a dozen of these shoe to hundreds at various prison facilities Arrived York state on the campus of existing facilities. Tanya was incarcerated at in Bedford Correctional Facility, which is just about an hour and half train ride north from new. York, city. And Her shoe two hundred unit. If you're walking down the hallway of these units, you would see a wide cell door. With a very small six by three window in a solid steel door, thick, reinforced solid steel, and there's a food tray. Probably about waist height of that of that cell, and then you open up the cell and you step inside and New York. Cells are bit bigger than your average halter. Confinement cell and I'll say more about that in second, but they have a bunk that's built into the wall. They have a toilet and sink combination that's built into the corner, so the the where the water tank of normal household toilet would be where the sink is. The toilet is beneath sad, and there is a small desk in the back of the cell. There's another door you open that door. It would take you out to a small country cage that on the. Exterior side of it has thick wire Mesh that leads to the outside, so it's like a little a patio that's about a quarter of the size of the solitary so. So on average day Tania. If she's in that cell, she would be allowed Three books I believe at that time a news a daily newspaper if another prisoner had taken it. And that is it. NO RADIO NO TV no access to any other type of stimulation. She would have the lights. Go on an herself probably around five in the morning. Her first food tray would come up around six o'clock. And you're getting food that is served by correctional officers who opened that food trade or end just pushed the food tray through at Nance, slamming close and one feature solitary confinement that is nearly universally is certainly a part of Chinese experiences. Is that correctional officers use food or the deprivation of food? To taunt prisoners to retaliate against damn sometimes, they're just lazy. So whether that food comes through the the trade or at six, whether even trust that hasn't been like spit on or tampered with is something that's constantly in your mind when you're when you're getting that food trae. For the next five six hours. You're just alone. With nothing to do, and and no one to talk to. Maybe just a few books are or a newspaper to occupy your time and in your mind. than around two PM in tiniest case she would get her one hour of recreation, and what that means in New York. Is that the cell door that faces the Patio? The recreation cage would pop open. It's automatically operated by guards in control. Booze would pop open and she could go outside for an hour to be in a smaller concrete cage that has some exposure to fresh air, and whether it's one hundred and twenty degrees, or whether it's negative, ten degrees, which in upstate. New York is is actually real saying in the wintertime. Doesn't change the clothing that she gets. At all, and there's nothing to do in this box. There's not a pull up bar. There should not allow basketball. There's there's literally nothing to do in the box except get some exposure to fresh air in depending on the time of day in the time of year. What cell you're in maybe some sunlight. Through through that metal great and then after an hour. You are over the Intercom you get buzz to come back in as you walk from your patio back into the small cell, and the door closes at locks behind you and.

"Here at Sam's garage. I'm Sam with Ms Emma Davi. We're talking to Richard about a fifty nine rambler retired. Let me let me make it a little easier for you on that generator. Polarity of the battery generator an alternator together. There's another easy way to do it. A friend of mine just texted me this and he thought he does it all the time. The key off the with the key often the engine not running a wire and go from the Amish terminal on the generator battery positive. I'd go to the battery positive. I put an alligator clip on that. Take you just touched the amateur channel on the generator there might be a small arc. That's why you want to do it at the generate or not at the top of the battery and then that will polarize it and if it doesn't run then you gotta probably got a bad regulator. Okay I I would be. That'd be support. I guess yeah just another way to match the polarity of the two. But you know what I was GonNa say we got to the top the break one of the things that I hate it on that. Rambo was changing the oil filter in front of the engine upside down on this areas filter. Oh you don't have. The Dow is an option by the way I do believe but that was an option. It was mounted on a steel plate on the driver's side of the valve cover at the very front of the head and it had a little copper tube that went down into the oil gallery and it had a spin on filter. And you had to hold the not underneath or when you turn the filter. If it was stuck it would twist the copper line. You break the line. You don't have an oil filter on. There wasn't oil filter option on that car. That was a spin on felted. That's pretty interesting. You don't have one but it's a great little card front seats recline all the way. You could sleep in that car. O out where where where Putting the headline ran right now boy. That's been a a job and a half but Where we got that done yesterday. It looks pretty decent for a bunch of Hicks like putting them in but the bows the bow that slide through the little loops that are stitched into the head last. Yes we had to pull them down and split them so you could pull it tight OOFTA. Anyway it's a job. Yeah but you'll however windows. Yes it's been fun but we're a wave The owners where it's a birthday present and the owners wanted three months early so We're we're pushing for pushing ourselves pretty hard on this thing but we're gonNA have done for having to the person that before you give it to the person's going to drive it. Make sure in the front and you check the check. The trend they had trauma with the break in the wheel would fall off those. I did a lot of those so take a look at those trying to make sure they're tight. Oh well now. We went through the whole front. And that's all for Hindu. We were able to put new yards for all of that Oakland. He wants to turn key. And that's what we're working for. Let me know when you're finished? I got a couple of cars shipped here. You can finish Palm House. That could've sixty six. We gotta sixty six or three ninety automatic that we got big plans for the next one. Okay Oh Listen. Thanks for the call. Good luck with your project and we'll talk to you again longtime listener. Sam Thank you very much. Thank you. Bye-bye Cedeno audio man knew about all those things he didn't that oil felt that was an option back. Then did you know that I knew options and stuff? I just didn't know when you know. Even your Chevrolet Stove Bolt Sixes. Some of them didn't have oil filters and and some of them had this big canister fell to that they put you bolts through the manifold intake. Manifold was bolted to the side of the intake mantle and then the line went down and picked up a fitting on the oil gallery. It Fed the filter in and you know back in the day. They used to use rolls of toilet paper in there for filter. That's crazy wondering why you'll record your cars every week. Well Oil was good for a thousand miles. You really and truly people don't understand if they haven't been around a long time like I have. Your maintenance was thousand miles. You got an oil change and if you had a healthy a change that and then you know we had points in the points rubbing block used to wear the points would burn when the rub in block wear and the points would get closer the dwell would change and that also affected the timing which is why when you did a tune up. The carranza much better had retarded time in one plugs. Bad caught bad spot. She put a point set of points in the condenser in it. Kaplan and or if it needed a new set of plugs set the time and right make sure vacuum incentive look advance worked just a carburetor usually one screw one vacuum line and away. You went but you did that. Every twelve thousand miles. Yeah but you guys. Don't drive off in like Dr Today. You know they won't yeah. They didn't and I grew up in a city. So you didn't go anyway. You know all right. Let's go to Canyon City Colorado and talk to randy about a fuel system added Randy Good morning on and welcome to the show. Thanks very much for both. The Rediscovery Of The Colorado Orange Apple
"As the decade comes to a close we can now report that in fact you can mix apples and oranges well kind of in the western. United States Apple. Well an thr- apologists are excited about the rediscovery of an apple variety that was believed to be extinct. It's called the Colorado Orange Apple Jud Shannon Meyer of the Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project in South Western Colorado. Helped track down the Orange Apple. We asked him what makes it so special so the Colorado oranges a mix of sweet and tart being a winter apple. The flavor opens up over time so winner apples like the Colorado orange. You wouldn't even think of starting to eat until Christmas. You'd go through all your summer apples all your fall apples. You'd have these in the root cellar. And then starting Christmas. You'd start to pull these out and month by month. The flavor would open up a little bit of the suite would go a little bit of the. Tang might but they were still going to be very flavorful. They have some of the most complex flavors of any apples. You'll ever have. They said culinary have some of the most complex flavors you'll ever have anything. The Colorado Orange was popular in the late eighteen hundreds but around the nineteen forties. It started to disappear the biggest thing it had going against. It was a yellowish wish. Orangish glow apple at a time when America was going into monoculture where shiny red apples were considered the only apples worth buying. It wasn't because it was bad quality or didn't grow. Well it lost out like so many of the thousands and thousands of apple varieties that have gone extinct. It lost out because it wasn't the Shiny Red Apple Shanta Shanta Myer says locals around Canyon City Colorado cherished the Orange Apple. They knew it was a really high quality apple winner Apple. Good Keeping Apple in in Canyon. City of the memory of it was kept alive for a long time in the old timers. Like Oh yeah. I used to have a tree at died but we kept thinking there was still going to be one around we. We felt like we could still find one and so he and his wife. ADDIE started combing the state two years ago. We were in Canyon City in this orchard in December. And this person Mr Diana said. Hey I've got a tree also and he took us to a tree my wife. Addie and I looked at it and Lo and behold on the ground underneath the tree and the duff there were. These orange blushed apples apples and then on the tree. There were some of the apple still hanging and it had that really good sub acid flavorful. Taste that you'd expect from a winner apple so yeah it was a it was a a big moment for us. But the Shannon Myers have been careful and taking their time. They did cutting edge. DNA testing and compared their find to some archival wax apple full replicas at Colorado State University. They wanted to make sure they'd found the actual orange apple of memory because it's considered extinct. There's probably never in absolute but we've got his close to an absolute as we can between this newest new DNA technology the historical purvey of the orchard itself in and the waxed apple to compare it to. That's an extraordinary amount of information that most people would never be able to have to compare anything and so in a couple of years once the a young trees get going. Keep Your Eyes Open in the produce section for something new and please restrain yourself from asking. Ju- Shanta Meyer about mixing apples apples and oranges. Yeah people when they hear of the Colorado Orange. They definitely wonder what we're talking about. That's for

that's what I'm here to help you cope with a more than likely help your pets cope with living with you let's face it not easy living with people on the phone number here at the pet joke eight seven seven seven two five eight two five five let's go to my friend Marie at them a glint in NYC and Alicia and Gilbert right now it's Maria in canyon city Colorado Hey Maria welcome to the pet show thank you I have a nine year old and she's nine years and three months old German shepherd and she's good or she can't control her bladder you have our remaining for that yeah let me ask you a couple of questions first of all the dog is only nine months old online no no nine years yeah nine years reminds when did this problem start also known not six months but she's getting worse now I let me ask you a water okay I'm not taking the water away is not going to resolve the problem another with a dog has been housebroken for pretty much nine years right now all of a sudden they started so for a situation like this to start there has to be something physiologically occasionally could be psychological but it sounds to me after nine years and three months for the doctor let's say he started six months ago for the dog to start having a having that the loss of bladder control I think it's really something you need to have a sit down with your veterinarian about their some amazing things on the market now you know I deal with this all the time people call me up or email me during the week and my dogs losing control or or this and some of the new medications on the market are really beneficial so it's not a matter of cutting back the dog's water because it might be something internally that's creating a situation I with the dark cast appear feels like it has to be so could be a bladder infection kidney problem could be any number of things so I think at this point a trip to the vet is in order and may cost a few Bucks but it's going to save you a lot of carpeting and the door was only nine years old you've got a couple years I had ever made more than a couple years ahead of her so I think at this point I would check that out what I'd like to do is send you I I some kids and pets staining order mover coupon something that at least you can clean up any of the areas where the dog is gone but it's really really important for people to understand the concept that if you have a dog it's getting older you know sometimes they lose a little bit of controlling their bladder just like you know when they can get all that the product on the market a lot of older men use out flomax to help them I'm not go as much at night to help with their prostate there are things on the market that you can do but I think you need to have that conversation with your vet Maria to decide specifically which way to go because I'm sure you love the dog I'm sure the dog loves you and just as as much as a bond issue I'm sure the dogs embarrassed by having the accent as well some of this change the kids and pets staining removed but I definitely want you to have a conversation with your vet because it's definitely something that can be brought under control that help you out a bit there Maria yes thank you thank you and put you on hold we're gonna send you out we're going to send you a a coupon thank your Q. part the kids and pets Dana remover and I really do appreciate have an elevated body temperature their skin feels hot and dry their lips and gums are pale they may collapse or even go into a coma if you said suspect your pet is suffering from heat stroke you need to take immediate action here's what you need to do first of are removed the stricken Pat from the hot environment to shady cool place low your pet's body temperature with cool not cold water but room temperature water if at all possible place him in front of a fan to speed up the cooling process and also gently massage his legs and his body and if your pet is currently she can let him drink small amounts of water washes math with cool water help the cooling process and get your dog or a cat to the veterinarian right away that's a point but his something you need to really really really understand okay is that dogs do not sweat cats don't sweat so what happens when you don't use panting he's letting out hot air around and what he's doing is trying to call all those blood vessels on his tongue if it's hot outside please keep your pets inside we know the signs of heat stroke and know what to do by the way to go to my website that picture dot com and just type in the word he strode "The wrestling with altitude podcast. I am your host Mr Fourth row and on the a phone call right now I have two representatives of one of the newest promotions here in the Colorado area and that's a redemption championship wrestling and I have <hes> Jason and James <hes> I'm sorry what was your last name again. Dribble dribble okay all right and <hes> they're going to talk to us about the Russian everything so gentlemen how you guys doing good. We're good all right all right so <hes> I I won't maybe necessarily direct questions to anyone in particular as we're introducing the promotion but <hes> tell us about <hes> R C W how did it get started. Let the four James Well. I actually started professional wrestling back in nineteen eighty nine. I've been doing it a little over thirty years. The day Jason is my youngest cousin and he just flipped out when he saw me do this stuff and skip forward to a few years later <hes> last summer my we we've done a few shows for some other promotions. I trained both Jason and my brother and my brother and I and Jason got together and we decided to kick off a promotion of our own to kind of be his Colorado Springs had it but nobody really came down to the southeast planes so we decided ready to focus on that area and see what we can do. Oh very cool and tell the listeners of where our C._W.. Is based out of just in case. They're not familiar exactly with the Colorado geography. Actually we're based the three areas Okay Canyon City Colorado Fowler Colorado in Las Animas Colorado. Okay all three of us live <hes> Jason Lives in Kenya and I live in Fowler and my brother Martin lives in Los Angeles us in that way we can kind of encompass and we have a representative all up and down the Arkansas Valley here. Oh very very cool all right so so just to fill in the listeners of that area is in they're talking about the the southern part of Colorado. The southern plains like they were saying so <hes> yeah so <hes> yeah and I'm familiar with the area personally because <hes> <hes> my <hes> Dad and his <hes> <hes> my uncles and sister they grew up in Texas creek which is fairly close to Canyon city yeah yeah exactly so very cool all right <hes> so <hes> <hes> so you guys decided that you wanted to start to promotion just because <hes> you know just to get a little bit of extra you know <hes> shows. They're going you know from the Colorado Springs area to get a lot of <hes> people travel from the springs and even further to come to the shows well. We've had people from all over the state of Colorado when we worked for another promotion. Come down here for these shows okay. This will actually be our. <unk> are able twenty-seventh will actually be our first show as redemption championship wrestling so we're hoping to get people from all over the state come in and give us a hand with <hes> making some money for the Special Education Department in Kenya City okay so this is a benefit show well. Yes Oh very cool. <hes> what made you choose <hes> that <hes> charity for for this well first off the school teachers always need help. They always spend spend their money. <hes> just a great opportunity to help out any school first off and second off the Special Education Department is just as how can I put this. It's really good to help out people people that are in need and can not do it all themselves so the Special Education Department I was actually approached by one of the school employees and that's when I signed to talk to James and Martin about dumb before with it. Oh very cool okay all right I was yeah and I I totally agree. I we always hear stories about teachers are not paid enough and they have to spend their own money for <hes> supplies and etc so and I would assume special education even gets a <hes> further <hes> whatever you WANNA call it <hes> I don't want to call it neglect but doesn't get as much attention as even this the regular <hes> program exactly and this is just once a week and help out very cool awry and is this going to be <hes> mainly geared to the special education <hes> in that area the Canyon City the <hes> Los Angeles area well this this particular GonNa geared more for Canyon City right there. Okay we have fifteen. We have another show setup and we're actually going to be donating to the after school program up there for their <hes> community center. Oh cool so <hes> so this is going to be a ongoing thing. The shows are always going to have a a benefit charity as much as we can. <hes> we went onto a few sold shows and stuff like that to help us keep the business alive and keep it going but any to give back to communities in need. We're GONNA we're take a look at that and see if we can't make that a at least a top priority whether they're actually a sponsored charity or whether we just make a donation that night after the show we just don't need it to school. What school was let James <hes> donate to my to the dance class school or something what was I can't remember the name of it right so yeah yeah it was? It's one of the things where redemption championship wrestling if we can help out in any way we're we're going to do it. We're always out there trying to put ourselves out there and not even if it involves a wrestling show but volunteering and doing things like that Oh cool okay cool. We'll volunteering is a kind of one of my things in my heart to do a lot for the American Diabetes Association and things like that so yeah cool very cool. I'm I'm proud of that cool all right <hes> so <hes> you had mentioned <hes> James You mentioned that <hes> you guys had done other <hes> worked for of doing other promotions as well and I'm assuming that those promotions are pretty much gone by the wayside. A lot of them have been gone out of business. I mean I I started this business back. In one thousand nine hundred eighty nine restrained by <hes> an organization Outta Lamar Colorado called superstars professional wrestling and then I've done some work for choice to eighth professional wrestling's since I've been all over the United States doing this. I actively retired in two thousand until they they Kinda Doug me out of mothballs to come out and do a charity show there once what's the wrestling ailing bug bitney again. It's kind of hard to stop right yeah cool so let's see here. I was going to ask you guys so <hes>. Speaking of that <hes> what kind of <hes> do you guys have a lot of local talented. You get a lot of talent from <hes> other places in Colorado and what about the United States in the world what what kind of talent comes in and Russell's for our C._W.. So hello earth going we have we have talent from we have local talent Air Colorado but we also have guys from Texas a really good guys names Chad Thomas. He's GonNa Russell actually outlaw James Girl there. We also have guys coming from Oklahoma. We'll we'll take we want everybody to strive to the best their ability and if we're able to get a man what we'll give them in where we can get him in whether it's from Colorado Oklahoma Oga Texas this New Mexico. We're trying to focus on the guys here. Colorado 'cause plenty of great talent appear <hes> just the shows are starting to get bigger as we go but this car right here we do got Colorado Oklahoma and we got on Texas cool all right so what so what <hes> what names we got <hes> coming in for the for this show on the twenty seven well <hes> we have from Oklahoma. We actually have a tag team called the new and improved express New York's press my bad apologize. They're facing Mark Justice in Tyler. Watch Keke match for the A C W tag titles which were to see how that goes because I'm very interested in seeing how those two teams go as far as I know they're both father and son and father and son. Oh yeah so that should be interesting in itself. We have Dr Kobe Black. He's he's from Oklahoma. There's Jomon name Prince Molly. I'm not exactly sure exactly where he's from so loans out of my hands I have no clue we just recently had a gentleman that was on your Cherry Tara a wish him and his family best ask look so and then like <hes>. We got guy from PLO what's <hes> K._T.. From cars brings a zillow from Pueblo <hes> myself and Canyon <hes> beanie from Las Animas Gentleman Myers extreme these from Las Animas as well <hes> some matches we have. We have a tables match with I'm involved in myself which has to be interesting dressing and never been in that he was masters should be very interesting for that match and then I've got some with Chad Thomas to to take care of this time around and when I wrestled each other in rocky Ford Colorado and that kind of turn into a slobber knocker he broke my ribs and several other things so when you come out to the show here in Canyon city don't expect a wrestling match between us to that's going to be more of a fight. Oh very cool very cool awesome. Yes right yeah well. I saw <hes> I've seen some of these names that you mentioned in <hes> <hes> C._S.. W of course as well and I've I think I've seen you Jason. They're promoting the shows as well so that's that's. That's very cool <hes> so it is it <hes> so how's that been <hes> in doing. You guys getting really good partnership there with <hes> C._S.. W and <HES> <HES> do you partner with the Iron Hills championship wrestling as well. Oh yes W an iron hills. They kinda rolled out the red carpet for us. When we told we were going to <hes> starting on promotion they have done nothing but bend over backwards to help us and we really appreciate everything that they've done for us? <hes> big guns Justin Andrew several others that they have just been more than willing to you know <hes> help us get acquainted with Colorado talent and just basically helped us nonstop. Get this thing up off the ground you know and <hes> we're trying our best to to Kinda. Give back to those guys and help them out as much as we can to. <hes> we're not gonNA just be a wrestling promotion. We're kind of a one stop shop. We build ring equipment and everything else so. So we've been helping them get some of their stuff but together. It's it's been a very cooperating <hes> experiences time around so yeah our hats off to see us w iron hills and all the Colorado promotions. Oh that's where I'll see the US goes also where we found Bruce Rogers which is going to be here Canyon City as well. Oh all right. He's here too. He's going to be in our CIMMAMON. advant actually now I don't know if you've seen any of the pictures on facebook or <hes> the posters but he's in our cinema one of my main event for the heritage championship of the B._B._C. WS <hes> which is a triple threat match and he idem Dr Code Black have some unfinished business as well not quite like outlaws and Chad compasses now what they still have a little unfinished business to take out so that should be interesting to in Bruce Rogers such A._M...

I can just imagine but that doesn't put away any of the other matches that's happening <hes> as well so and then rocky mountain pros. This is being the last Friday of the month. You're GonNa have the rocky mountain pro experience at the Rack House. <hes> in downtown Denver on Friday and then on Saturday recommend pro also is having their <hes> Romero shore show with the being the last Saturday of the month there Romero's canine club and it's the Halloween Wean so just up as your favorite wrestler or other costume and have some fun you WanNa get tickets to any the rocky mountain pro- <hes> shows. Wrestling Dot Com and and then also on Saturday we have <hes> the redemption championship wrestling and there will be a <hes> interview with them. <hes> coming up debris released after this <hes> episode as well <hes> they are going to be there. "Two five five and for friends who have different view on when abortion should be legal. I I would challenge you to be open minded open hearted, intellectually honest, and this this Bill can no way, shape or form affect the Boertien. This is about what happens when a baby is born following abortion attempt. So, of course, we have Democrats out there line this afternoon, saying, it's about abortion, rights, etc. Clearly is not that's just another really pathetic insulting lie. But let's get to the heart of it can any decent person vote against this Bill. And then just a question. I haven't please understand is I pose, you know, this this God question to you. Anybody who knows me knows? This doesn't come at all from from a place of superiority, quite the opposite. I am a believer. But I am obviously a at on my best day a work in progress. So this this is just more about the honest question of can anybody who believes in God vote against this Bill? I again, I don't understand how they could eight five five four zero five eight to five five the number. I mean, maybe I don't know. Ryan, maybe I'm not alone. And maybe there are certain group of people who believe in God. But don't fear. Got. That's one possibility. Yeah. I believe in God. But no infanticide fine. With me. I think it's tactical, Dan, I think they feel they give ground here. This is like a turf war. Right. And so now, the Republicans have ceded this moral high ground on this issue right in the middle of it, and that's squishy gray area. And they don't know where to draw the line from here. I think it's purely strategic. That's what I'm hoping it leaks. Otherwise, the other militias it's demonic like you said, well, the at and I'm not labeling these people demons that's above my pay grade. What's I've cut all my own flaws? I'm just being intellectually honest. I don't see how any decent human being. Can vote against this Bill. All it says is if the baby lives in his sitting there outside the mother alive, the doctor has to provide medical care, and all it says is the same type of medical care a reasonable doctor would provide any other child born at that stage of just station. It's straightforward. How can any decent person vote against that? Love your thoughts. Eight five five four zero five eight to five five five seven seven three nine D A N to start the text, please. Let's go straight to the phone lines. Johnny canyon city, Colorado. You're on the Dan capless show, welcome. I'm back, Dan. And I'm so glad to get to speak with you today. Thank you. I am dramatically unhappy with the idea that a person of any moral fiber or under anything better than a weird savage from another planet could vote the way the Democrats voted I there can be no principle can be no legitimate political platform that you'd be trying to sustain or maintain. It has to be virtually. Because it's so unreasonable. The reason I don't use the demonic is I think it's very much what Ryan suggest it's that. These are individuals who have decided that that having and keeping power is more important to them than right and wrong at that having and keeping power is worth endorsing flat out infanticide. Have to do that. Keep the power though. The power not done that yet. But the point is they really have done that because he wants the Democratic Party shifted and started to revolve around the legal right to take the life of an unborn child before birth once that became the center of the Democratic Party than at that point. Almost everybody use held high office in the Democratic Party for decades has made that that same deal with the devil. Right. Absolutely. And so point well made. So in other words, you are equating the abortion at any time with the abortion, certainly after the baby is fully born. And it's the same difference you'd kill the baby either way you as you say major deal with the devil going in. So now, it's really not any different. It just appears to the. No naive to be more graphic or more blatant or something. But in reality, they already were killing babies. So what difference does it make sure and listen understand its metaphorical when I talk about a deal with the devil. But I'm just talking about the fact that that these people who may be very fine people in every other aspect of their life. It's so similar to slavery. You know, we we were humans being treated as disposable property, and we saw that during slavery where you had fine churchgoing folks who gave to charity and help the poor and were model citizens in every other aspect to their life. But then they supported slavery, and they did it because of the benefit to them of supporting slavery. We see the same thing with the portion. I have no doubt that many of these Michael benefits of the world. You know, who decided to make that dastardly deal are fine people in every other aspect of life, but they have decided to actively support something profoundly evil in order to have and keep power. It's it's just the exact same phenomenon. We see we saw with slavery. That's fair. Yeah. So now, it's up to us. I mean, it it it really at a certain point. You can't even sit here and blame them they have made it clear, and I think they've made clear thank you Johnny for a long time that they were willing to support evil in order to get and keep power. So they've been pretty open about who they really are. And it's up to us to replace them in office. So it's really us at this point. I'm glad Mitch McConnell had this vote today because it is so clarifying so very clarifying even though the biological reality. The medical reality is that that baby right after the baby's been born is the exact same from a human standpoint a standpoint of biology physiology medicine as as before. But this is so clarifying because there's no place for the Democrats like Benetton hide on this except to just brazenly and blatantly lie about what was in the Bill. So of course, that's what they're doing. My hope is simply that everywhere Bennett. Appears that somebody will will ask him that question. We have still not been able to get his office or governor polices office to answer. The question forest. John Hickenlooper Zoff has what is their position on late term abortion? We know they support it which is why they won't answer the question because they know people don't want to hear that they know that the tide has turned in America on that. And particularly after you know, the the really I opening and disgusting comments of the Virginia governor northern that the right now, the people of America are focused on this issue. So now, you see governor police, and you see Michael Bennett, you see John Hickenlooper Diana to get go and try to hide. Because they they don't want to openly admit right now that they are and have been for years supporters of abortion right up through the middle of delivery. That they're trying to hide from that that they know America doesn't like that. And so they're gonna try to lie to you about. But they're gonna try more to hide from you. And then when they are asked the question they're going to do their best to opt escaped and blow smoke and not have to answer it directly. Unfortunately, we cannot have confidence in the press many of whom I know and like, but we can't have confidence in them to pin. The Michael Bennett's and handcocks and Hickenlooper and policies of the world down on this. So I hope in every public forum that they're in people, respectfully and politely, but firmly pose these questions and demand an answer we deserve that Jamie in Denver. You're on the Dan capitalist show. Welcome. Hey, Dan, appreciate your taking my call. Thank you for making your call. What are you thinking? Well, I just wanted to touch base. You know, we were the previous caller from canyon city was talking about this vote being demonic and all that and your your response about you don't wanna call it demonic was really just a an attempt to preserve tower. I guess I would I would say is knowingly defeating a Bill that, you know, killed children just for the sake of power. I think that's even worse. Say listen, I've I've called it evil. And and it is the reason that I don't go with the word like demonic kits cetera. Is is listen, I'm a work in progress myself. I am far from a perfect believer in God. So that's why I don't call other people demons the devil or anything else. Like that. I talk about the act and the act is evil, and they are actively supporting evil, and they have made a deliberate decision to support something evil in order to get and keep power. So I think I've been pretty clear about it. Oh, yeah. I'm not. I'm not saying that I believe you're wrong. I'm just saying that the the the act of preserving power at the expense of sacrificing human life. I would say is you know, that taking it to a low that even you, and I thought the Democrats couldn't stoop to or anybody that would go. I'm not surprised by Jamie because they've been doing it for years. I was shocked by it in the beginning saddened by it. That's the main reason I left the Democratic Party that I had been a part of for many years, but but I have accepted the fact for years that they have made this deal with evil. And and now, it's a matter of wow. On a Bill like this. They are so committed to this position. They are such cowards. They are so afraid that of of the radical abortion lobby turning on them that they couldn't even vote for a Bill like this think about how politically advantageous. It would have been in many places where they need to win. If they're going to win the next presidential election. If the Democrats had simply supported this Bill, but but they are so enslaved by the radical abortion lobby. They couldn't even support a Bill like this that has nothing to do with abortion. This is about what happens with the baby. After the baby's born. Yeah. Yeah. I know. And I wish that there were some more people on Capitol Hill and in prominent national positions that could articulate it that way. Too often, the the national leaders beat them Republicans or Democrats, they they're they're too afraid to. And this is such an issue that the line is so clear and the and the issue the separating right from wrong is so stark that there shouldn't be any. Discussion about which way people should be should believe. Right. And that's that's why it's up to the GOP candidates and God love Cory Gardner, who didn't pack off his pro-life beliefs. One bid in the Senate race against Mark udall. And he won it is up to all of our Republican candidates to expose these Democrats for being the extremists. They are Republicans are too often afraid of this issue not Corey he stood up, but others are, and whereas it can expose once people know, they look at it. Michael Bennet seems like a nice enough guy etcetera. But, but once, you know, he supports abortion through labor and delivery, he voted against requiring medical care for the baby. After the baby's born. You know, he's just like the governor of Virginia. Once people know that about a person, you cannot unseat that you see that person in a different way. Instead of this respectable member of the community. All the sudden, you think is is this person. Is there a monstrous side to this person? Yeah. Well, you know, I think it comes down to there's a line in the movie Braveheart where Robert the Bruce is you know, is talking to William Wallace and William Molly says people follow courage. Wish our elected leaders would exhibit a little more, courage. I think they would be surprised that the amount. They would get articulate and Dan firm rather than being tossed in the wind. No, amen. My brother. Beautiful call. It's it's a profile in cowardice. Michael Bennett's vote today. Profiling cowardice.

"He'd be playing street hockey constantly tones people drive by in shove. But west never gave up well until one day when somebody car you're going to work because west was a forty three old accountant and he commuted with that guy downtown so west never played in the NHL, but he did hear how gyco proud partner of NHL could save money on car insurance. So he switched and saved and made his other dream come true. Jumping on the bed. No more. Hey, we are back on the patch on let me get right back to the busy phone lines here right now it's Doug in canyon city, Colorado. Hey dog welcome to the show. Thank you very much. Thanks for taking my call. Hey, it's my pleasure. What's up? I've got a three year old lab, and I would say about six or eight months ago, he started digging holes in the lawn. He only digs them on the west side of the house and on the south side of the house. And he last year I had to replace our about this last summer I had replace about three roles Assad. That's how much he dug up in different areas. I listened to. Yeah. It's very easy to resolve. But you need to understand this. You cannot teach dog not to dig. But you can teach him where to dig. So what I'm going to recommend that you do is in the areas where the dogs seems to be digging. I want you to go out to eat at Home Depot. Lowe's. One of those stores by a couple of kiddie pools. They're like ten bucks take the kiddie pools put them in the area where the dog is most apt to dig fill those with some dirt some sand. Whatever you want to put in there, actually, get some of the dog's favorite toys put them in there as well. And I want you to go in there and kind of get down off worse. Make like you're digging. Let the dog see you. What happens if you can change the toys in there every day this way the dog will have his own place to dig. Dogs dig for many, different reasons. Number one when you're anxious number two if there's other animals in your yard, which is a possibility what they can do is dig the put their sent down. So the reason I'm recommending you do what I suggest is. We don't want to stop the dog from digging that's like stopping a human from using your hands. But if we take the dog, and we make the backyard more interesting and giving him places of his own today by putting toys narrow letting him see you in there. He will get the idea, which means that you don't have to buy more Saad, you donkey digging the backyard, it's kind of like a doggy sandbox. I've used this many many different times even with my own dogs. Lots of them came with digging problems rescues and that order resolve t- the fancy a question. Doug. It does. Now one other question. So I put him where I want put the polls were in an area where he can dig not on the grass is that. Correct. Well, no, you can put them in the area where he's digging right now. I wanna replace where he's digging with the pools, and then you can gradually move. The bulls to wherever you want to move them. Okay. Okay. Then I listened dot com. Anyway, I'm gonna put your you got a great looking dog. Great has it snowing in Colorado right now. No, actually canyon cities the climate capital of Colorado. And it's about fifty degrees right now. It's beautiful blockade take your jacket off. And I'm gonna put you on hold on. I'm gonna send you for your dog. I'm gonna saying, you know, what I'm gonna send you some different food. I'm gonna send you Lucy pet form of sly petfood make change gradually. Add some of the Lucy pet food best pet food on the market. I want you to add some of the pet food there. And then what I want you is gradually take away some of the food that you're giving him and add more of the Lucy pet.
