While the nationals enjoyed a night off, the Orioles enjoyed their 7th straight victory of 5 four comeback win over the Red Sox in which he and Eric Cano got his first career saved by striking out the first two batters he faced. And in fact, manager Brandon Hyde Cano is retired the first 20 batteries he's faces in oriole. He's got presents. Pitches with energy pitches with emotion and roughly so. And he's come a long way. And be a part of the big leagues doing what he's doing. It's nice fantastic. The long anticipated Aaron Rodgers trade is finally a reality, the jets do part with the 13th overall pick as part of the package of picks and the Green Bay, but they also get back the packers 15th overall selection. Rogers, by the way, opting to wear Jersey number 8 like you did in college despite Hall of Famer Joe Namath giving Rogers permission to wear his retired number 12 as he did in Green Bay. In this week's D.C. sports auto we discussed the Washington commander's plan for the 16th overall pick on Thursday night George Wallace. I would like to see him go tight end, maybe corner, but I do think if you can get two picks for that 16th and trade back, yes. I left something jumps out and you could package something there for a quarterback somehow some way. If you're asked me to put it down right now, I don't think they selected 16. "Puerto Rico's southern coast. It's where yersinia alvarado and much of her family live. She said, people knew Fiona would bring heavy rain, but they did not expect the water levels to rise so high and so fast. Close to midnight last night when the water started entering people's homes and reaching their waists, people started to panic. They shot emergency flares into the air. Emergency responders rescued more than 200 people here and in surrounding neighborhoods. This afternoon, after the water receded alvarado was making the rounds, checking on members of her family. Get okay as if where? Her cousin thought that wasn't home. Next door, Cano Correa said he and his wife Norma rosa rode most of the storm out with family in another town when they returned to their house this morning here in barrio playa, they found a sloppy mess. Their whole house was full of water, leaves, and mud To the backyard, a concrete patio surrounded by brick walls. Look, he said, it's like a swimming pool. Whatever they ask me, you have to be careful about the answer, right? He asked me a silly question. Okay, yep. But you do many change. And I got a nice question. I was asked the day before and the day before. Well, that's just what happens in a daily show. There's going to be a little bit we'll come up with new stuff. It's going to be a little bit of repetition, isn't there? No, not that much. Are you uploading Dan's questions? That was different. Wondered why he never left his head when I commented. Yeah, Justin Turner became a great player when he made adjustments in the middle of his career and we'll see if he can make adjustments as we go forward. 45 seconds, what do you think about Robinson Cano and being released by the mets which happened right after we taped our podcast on Monday and the question of whether or not he'll play again because I don't think he will. I don't think he will, I guess my comment would be, has any player career and legacy over the last few years kind of gotten in the toilet more than his. He was a surefire Hall of Famer. And now he's had the PED suspension, he's probably not going to play again. You know, I think his Hall of Fame chances certainly based on how voters have treated PED players. I think it's down the tubes. Yeah, two PED suspensions. Two PD suspensions and a friend of his asked me rhetorical question the other day. And it was very interesting. About Robbie using PDs, he goes, why do you think he did that? Because keep in mind, he'd already gotten paid. He already got his big contract and he got nailed twice for this and of course the answer to this person was looking for was because he felt like he needed them. To be a good player and that might give you some insight into how he's feeling about himself as a player as he makes this decision. You know, I would not be surprised if some team says, look, we'll put you in the minor leagues. We'll let you try to work it out. See if you can find that swing, but there's a lot of data that suggests he's really struggling against high velocity and that was certainly behind the Met's decision to cut him. All right, Dave, thanks for doing this. All right, you bet buster. Todd radom is the chief executive.

"They did acknowledge that. It wasn't really statistically significant in terms of affecting you know how users felt the problems they don't really have another really promising thing to go for at moment and i think that's a so okay. You know the thing that they kind of pin. Their hopes on didn't pan out for them. so what do you do now. 'cause you know if he's based on their own data the there are some serious questions about whether the product is currently safe for people who are in a not great mental space particularly young women. Although i i should mention young men it's kinda manifest differently. It's more of a social status and wealth type Envy issue there. And then they found that for you know for black girls it was less like eating disorders than it was over sexualization and things of that nature so there was kind of a i mean it manifest differently in different communities in different genders but You know some pretty far reaching effects. And they don't really have anything lined up to deal with it other than maybe the thought of completely overhauling a product. But that's obviously a hard sell internally. Yeah and i guess look. I think anyone who's used instagram. Or any real. Social media platform. I think intuitively knows it can create this sort of unrealistic depiction of reality that can make you feel bad. I mean compare and despair as one of the oldest tendency of a and all these programs to help people feel better about themselves. But i like this is the part of the story that makes me really mad. Which is you learn about. All these arms and then mark zuckerberg ounces a plan to create a product for kids under thirteen. And that to me is where we're going from I mean ignoring a problem to may be shifting. It's even younger users. Is that a fair reaction. Yeah i. I will cobb to sort of being surprised by the plan for the under thirteen years in light of this stuff and i mean. I think the company's line on this is that social media is part of life and we're not going back and you know something. They need to try to get it right for younger users in besides younger users of probably gonna be on the platform anyway so might as well and i think that's i'm not. I'm not arguing points. I am just suggesting that it seems like at the moment. It's a bit of uphill battle on that front for them. Because i mean they do. And here's the thing that i think is. Facebook is currently getting beaten up pretty badly among preteen years. By take top to talk talkin snapchat. There is no question that there is an active hunt for the next generation users and that facebook is not in the lead And so. I have some sympathy. You know the idea that like. Oh you know Preteens aren't supposed to be on social media. They are And you know at the moment. I think there's perhaps a bad a bad set of incentives being provided dollar companies because it is absolutely legal market products. Thirteen-year-old or two people were under thirteen and it is absolutely unacceptable to allow them. Stand your platform at the same time. Obviously that's where the competition is and And so i think there's a it is kind of a crazy thing that you know everyone sort of simultaneously Marketing to this demographic but at the same time we hear we going after them. So you know. I'm not sure that that's something with facebook uniquely bad on that front in the least if in fact if anything this data indicate that their competitors doing better better at it than they are so You know hard data. We learned from your reporting that. I think i sort of intuitively felt was that a change to facebook. Algorithm made the site angrier in that change led publishers and political parties to reorient their content to make it worse. Insatiable were more likely to outrage people. but again like this is an instance where reading your reporting made me so angry. Because mark zuckerberg made aware of the impact of these changes but then resists fixes for. I guess business reasons. Can you talk about that. Algorithm exchange and what ultimately did or didn't happen. Yes there were two parts of it. The first one was boosting content more from friends and family And that actually totally fine. In fact the research facebook did showed that actually reduces the amount of polarizing violating Gory like pornographic name. Whatever ill you wanna talk about. It helps it turns out that people tend to get sort of better qualities from friends and family. I'm not saying it's the most exciting stuff but like in terms of harm issues. They get better stuff. The other part was increasing engagement based ranking and that just basically means that the more a thing gets likes and honestly even more than liked gets commented on re shared and direct messages direct message and emoji on the platform. Those are the things that are more valuable. The more facebook was going to promoted to everyone else and what facebook found out after ruling. That thing out was did it really did incentivize both bad things to go viral and people to create more bad content and more aggressive content right so like it turns out that there's like there's nothing more engaging than a flame war right people o commenting on in ways that they might regret five minutes from now but nonetheless they're commenting and facebook system was built to engineer. That and i mean they did find as as you noted. Some pretty far-reaching facts right. I think like one of the most interesting things. I don't think this made it into the story but rebounded a One of the tactics of Of a far-right spanish political party was to actually buy ads. Targeting their conan's supporters precisely because the opponent's supporters were gonna get super pissed Unlike income antawn and it turns out that was the thing that would then make the content go viral because he was super high engagement and so facebook's algorithms basically be like oh clearly this is great content because like ham. These people are commenting lots. And so point. Being this thing that i mean you know for people in politics right you'd never consider targeting your your ads at you know like your tv ads. It like the opposition's supporters but it works here because of this this different system. You also noted that in poland party social media team shifted from fifty fifty positive negative content to eighty percent negative. So there's really like it's just wild like up. Ranking the click of an emoji with a frowny face can materially impact the entire social media strategy of a polish political party. That is staggering. Yeah it's I think this is self reported reported from the parties. Like they were basically saying like. Hey guys we noticed that you change something. Here's what we're doing in response. And i think that this gets to something very big picture with facebook is really important which.

"Deeply fucked up considering. That country is reeling from the assassination of its president and another earthquake on top of the one twenty ten and so like again the the broader question. I think we all have to figure out or figure out his. All of this is tied into the bigger fight over the size and scope of the stimulus. Bill in this hostage association between the moderates in the progressives over whether the bipartisan bill goes for or the the secondary reconciliation. Bill goes for select. This is. there's a lot of pieces to this puzzle. Yeah i mean you have. There is now a desperate effort to try to find a way to convince the parliamentarian to to put an immigration proposal inside this larger package. That joe manchin is saying he does not want to do and that we cannot. This is the problem with the again. I what i love it. If the parliamentary was fired absolutely Would of course You make love at the parliamentarian. It'll be much better. i will fucking crush it. I will be honored. And i would do you proud but here. Here's the here's the problem. Chuck i'm your guys. Call love it. He's gonna be the parliamentary again. You'll be amazed by what i think. Is a budget relevance. I will shock you by how much you can do. You know what everyone's everyone's like okay. Well if schumer fires. The parliamentary doesn't need mentioned incinerator grew true. Come harris vice-president harris overrules the parliamentarian It would need sixty votes to stop her. And so you need ten democrats opera probably not going to happen to write but all of this is sort of beside the point. joe manchin incur- cinema are not going to vote for an underlying bill that includes in the bill. Something that the parliamentarian didn't want because they fucking care about the and they care these stupid fucking rules and they care about the parliamentarian. All roads lead back to joe manchin and catch the cinema and the danger right now is that they seem like they would be willing to let the bipartisan infrastructure. Bill die rather than make concessions on the reconciliation. Bill in order to save the bipartisan bill. And that's what's really dangerous for. Millage i paul and some of the progressives in the house are also threatening to tank the bipartisan. They should lessons paired with this broader reconciliation. Bill feels like what we need to do. Is hire a hostage negotiator to work for ron. Clean to see if he can referee this thing. It no but what i worry but are they think mentioned cinema will let the hostage die at this point. That's what i mean. Yeah there they don't have a lot of negotiation like these are. Shoot the hostage people if i'm if i'm a progressive in the house i'm absolutely voting to take the fucking bipartisan infrastructure. Bill at this point. Because if you don't follow through on that then no one cares what you say so you have to follow through on that and basically mentioned cinema or daring them to to to vote it down at this point. What would they what is what is crystal-clear is it. They pass the bipartisan. One i the democratic goes dead mentioned. Cinema couldn't be more clear unless they said that allowed. Yeah so like these only thing. We have to negotiate with is the fact that they want this. Bipartisan bill. well we're also trying to learn what joe manchin wants. Based on reports that either leak out from conversations he had with the chamber of commerce or a bunch of procter and gamble employees. How is this the best which could also like the most important conversation happened between mansion in cinema and biden late last week and the right like that's the only one that really matters when we you know we're getting some leaks out of that like cinema is saying she doesn't. She's against the prescription drug plan saying that she will kill the reconciliation bill. If the bipartisan infrastructure build is these are all reports were hearing out of that meeting but in Like i i don't know what you do if you're biden right because your ultimate goal is to get the package passed of course to get both bills passed and the only way to do that is to persuade cinema in mansion to change their mind or at least be willing to some concessions. And what's the best way to do that. Is it private discussions with them like this. Does he go public at some point. Obviously he's obviously like speaking out publicly against mentioned in cinemas not necessarily going to change their minds. I mean bind mistress. Feel like he's in like some crazy alternate reality. He's fighting with democrats to support a proposal to let medicare negotiate for lower prescription drug prices that polls ninety percent approval more popular. It will propose. Now save the country money and they oppose that. I mean that's why i think at some point. You have to decide whether or not you're gonna go down showing people that you fought as hard as you could for the priorities right. There is a majority in this country. Democrats independents some republicans. Who are supportive of joe. Biden's agenda here. And i think he probably has to start picking a fight like and show people that he is willing to fight for that majority and that agenda and fight against you know. I don't think saying that. You're gonna fight against joe mentioned curzon cinemas necessarily going to be all that effective even though it might be satisfying but fight against drug companies tack. Wealthy tax. cheats Oil companies right like insurance companies all the special interests that are blocking your agenda like he's got kind of show that fight even as i think. There are a lot of negotiations going behind the scenes because right now if he doesn't if he doesn't get out there more and start fighting for this it looks like he is going to be buffeted by forces beyond his control and that's not a great place to be. We started by talking about this narrative. That's forming about this sort of rough couple of of weeks months for joe biden and i do think that like one of the frustrating aspects of the way politics discusses like you would like to believe that the role of the political media would be to tease out The places where joe biden has agency versus the places where he doesn't like my question is well. What's within his control. And what isn't right like you would like the idea being like. Hey a bunch of things that are happening some are good some are bad. There's been a lot of bad news. Here's how joe biden is responsible. Here's how he isn't here's what he can do. Here's what he can. Of course it doesn't happen when bad things happen. They are bad politics. They are bad for joe biden. Then when he says things like the reason we have Have a a a a a fourth wave is because of the unvaccinated republican policies that is cast as laying blame as opposed to simply explaining reality. The place where joe biden can make. The biggest difference is getting these negotiations done. This is where he can figure. This is where his power is figuring out a way to find some some path by which we passed. Both this bipartisan infrastructure. Bill and this democratic only bill. And that's where his power lies in the long term to kind of get out of this morass. Yeah i mean the problem. Is that the washington law these reporters. They only care about winning and losing and if he wins in that he gets these bills passed then that changes in errative and if he loses. Then he's going to be a loser right like that's that's all. They care about. Not having a lot of good news days not a good news. As i mean talking about things within his control you know his polling numbers of barely improved since afghanistan. There was a fox news. Poll out over the weekend again. We always say this news. Eight good pollster. It's different than the news outfit They have him at fifty forty nine which is better than a lot of other polls but when you look under the hood. They're you know why people like him. Kovic twenty five percent general positive feeling nineteen percent not trump fifteen percent empathy and behavior nine percent. Why people disapprove incompetence. Poor leadership is number. One at two percent then afghanistan's still at nineteen percent. General dislike is thirteen percent. that's republicans than economy covert and border right after that. The other interesting is like characteristics about him his mental soundness for office and His honesty have basically been unchanged selected. So it's not even though that republicans like to calm the rotting writing bag of oatmeal. It's not about mental centers but cares about people like you and strongly have taken big hits. And i think that's part of it like things are you. Don't want to get point. Seems everything is beyond your control. And you're just sitting there watching it happen in cares people like you like go out there and fight for the the agenda. They pulled the pulled. The bill the reconciliation bill. And they did what we don't like to do which is give the three point five trillion dollar price tag fifty six thirty nine percent in support even with the three point five trillion dollar price tag attack fox news did and they got they got a majority. They got more people liking the building. They like joe biden and they like the mandates that for vaccines someone print out the poll and give it to joe manchin line and and let about politics. "We're back now. Tell jokes to one person to scream in a screening works i. It's hard all right. Let's get to the news Guys i just want you to imagine what you'd be dealing with if you went to work at the white house this morning In the span of just one hour on friday the pentagon admitted that the terrorists. They said they killed in afghanistan. Were actually civilians and children. France recalled its ambassador to the united states because they were cut out of a nuclear submarine deal between the us. The uk and australia in the fda's independent advisory committee voted down the administration's plan to give everyone over the age of sixteen booster shots for now they're only recommending a third dose for people over sixty five people with underlying health conditions healthcare workers and teachers. Meanwhile at least fourteen thousand migrants mostly from haiti are huddled at the border in del. Rio texas trying to enter the united states and on sunday night. The senate parliamentarian ruled the democrats can't include their proposal to include a path to legal residency for eight of america's eleven million undocumented immigrants in joe biden's economic plan a plan that joe manchin and cursed cinema reportedly just told the president that they don't currently support because it's too expensive moving too fast and does too much to lower. The cost of prescription drugs has ever monday. Feel like he's trying to a leading question and the answer is the bad. I think of you guys think it'll be a fun fun workday. No that's very. That's a lot on your plate and the un general assembly this week. Oh my god anger on this week this week. Article say words like buffeted buffeted by a host of compete host of set by used interest host of setbacks setbacks and disappointments. I mean having those three things happen in one hour on friday especially you go into work on the ride of your thinking. Maybe this weekend will be a little quiet. Afghanistan might be in the rear view mirror. Not so much Tommy let's talk about the significance of these developments one by one. Can you walk us through. How the pentagon could have made such a gut wrenching horrific mistake And then also shed some on why francis oh pissed off about a submarine deal. Yeah i mean on the drug. It was just horrible mistake that they had been tracking White toyota corolla. They thought they had observed patterns of life that had showed a terrorist plotting attack. Turns out it was an afghan aid worker. Filling up water jugs commuting home and they ended up killing civilians. Seven children in. It's just the worst possible outcome And frankly it happens. Far too often in. This is why all the times you read that joe biden should have just kept a couple thousand troops in afghanistan. There was a low cost was no big deal. The those arguments are completely immoral in ridiculous. Like this is what happens. When you're at war. Constantly for twenty years children get killed so this just horrific With with respect to the french piece of this. It's a little harder for me to get worked up about. I'm not gonna lie to you guys last week the. Us and the uk and the australians announce a new defense partnership the biggest piece of that deal was the us and the uk agreed to help australia develop nuclear powered submarines is supposed to help them. Counter the risk from china in their neighborhood Australia had previously agreed to spend sixty six billion dollars with a b. on diesel powered french submarines. They how they ended up not wanting those bad boys because they have limited capabilities that i get properly noisy. Yeah the submarines. I dunno. I wouldn't buy a french car. Joe i mean diesel-powered submarine come on so way just bought sweet thursday promised to buy these sweet submarines from from us. Then yes now they're gonna take our submarines there. There's a lot of complicated policy issues that are problematic about nuclear non-proliferation under this but at the end of the day. The french are just mad. Because it's going to cost them a ton of money they read. They had a sixty six billion dollar contracts to to sell submarines the australians. That is not going to happen. So they're reacting very angrily. They're acting like it's a bigger problem with alliance. It's a stab in the back. They recall embassador from the. Us austrailia also cancelled a party. The party what party do they cancel. There was some sort of a celebration that the ambassador going with someone from the french are. They're skipping out on a bunch of different who really fun events but does this mean. The correspondence in her is not going to be the french embassy. The that would be a big win. Whoa that's going to talk about things that are gonna lead playbook anymore. There was a line in the ap story that. I thought really captured what happens. When like there are many competing crises that are helping the biden white house. I don't consider fair to add to that list. The strain with france came just as biden had hoped to pivot to his ambitious domestic agenda. Like yeah i. I'm going to effect reconciliation. I'm not questioning the joe versus the volcano narrative right. There's a lot going on. But i mean i was listening to. Npr report this morning. There was like this'll be a big issue at the un general assembly. Look i agree that the us french us european alliances are very important. But like you tell a bunch of voters that we pissed off the french because we won out on some arm deal. They're going to be sucked. So let's not pretend there's political i mean this is part you know once you're in the barrel it's like the longer you're in the barrel the harder it is to get out of the barrel because every new development every piece of bad news is like now part of that narrative so you the reporters all shoehorn. The the french thing into the rest of the narrative. And it's well. The french said he's acting just like trump and they thought it was going to be a change. It's like yeah. Of course the french know that they can say. Oh he's acting just like trump and it's going to get everyone going right. It's it's it's a military sales. Whatever a lot of problems we're covering this is low on the list Love at the bite. Administration's top federal health officials announced in august that they were targeting today september twentieth. Is the data. Start giving everyone. Who'd received their last shot. Eight months ago. A booster What's your take on the advisory boards decision. And what happens now. So i look as you know. I'm a world renowned epidemiologist. But i will say like a lot of the doctors in my life are basically like acupuncturist at this point. They're like little johnson and johnson. Little pfizer little. Madonna author all off label. That's what's going on the closer. They are to cova. They the more likely they are to have given themselves a couple of jabs just for fun. Yeah just you can't be just just in case. So there are a couple of dissenters when advisory panel voted against the boosters for everyone then agreed unanimously to recommend boosters older people and people at high risk..

"It. Make sure to stick around after the break, which we're about to take. The order with which I said that, am I choking like labor Torres? Maybe we're gonna take a quick break when we come back when it's hot players being broken. Welcome back to the unique sky yard podcast. I do want to talk bullpen usage a little bit too. Because, you know, it all goes hand in hand, the Iggy have obviously broken Jonathan Lewis again a different way. He's not someone who's had a durable shoulder throughout his major league career. For me, it's the one thing that's gonna hold him back in his quest to be the next Mariano Rivera in the next closer of the New York Yankees. He was overused this year by any metric through 66 innings way quicker than he should have came down with a shoulder issue, has not picked up a baseball yet. It's September 15th. I don't know if we're going to see him for the rest of the year, which is devastating because this bullpen is a disaster without him. So in an effort to fill his spot, Luis severino is apparently ahead of him in the pecking order now in the rehab process. Domingo Hermann was great on Tuesday at triple-A. He could be back by the end of the week reportedly and not a moment too soon because Garrett Cole, the first game of this oriole series was supposed to be the blowout. They got everybody off their feet. And it was a 7 two win. And it wasn't that close. There were moments when the tide could have turned and took a couple great pitch performances to stop them from turning. The aforementioned moment when glaber botched the double play and then bought stuff up to her shell and it was terrible. Glay returned a better double play up the middle on a three two rocket, the very next batter. One ball away from Michael kingdom from bases loaded no outs in a 5 one game. That's different. That's very different than what we saw. We saw a much different ending collab. We did. But 5 one became 6 one became 7 one became 7 one with one out, nobody on and two strikes in the 9th salamander gave up a single walk and a riby single line off his hand. So a role as Chapman had to come into this game to relieve salamano to face Cedric Mullins and Ryan mount castle with first and second one out in a 7 two game in the 9th..

"But he's never hit below two 80 and a playoff series. A full playoff series. Three O 8 four 17 two 87 14 three 13. So that's the guy we're working with. He's not a shortstop. He might be a second baseman. But people are now talking about, you know, with regard to giving up on him, you know, giving up on him feels just as stupid as trading Luke voy for spare parts to me. The more good players you have, the better. It sounds elementary. It's obvious. And this brings us to 2008 with Robinson Cano. When 25 year old Robinson Cano hit two 71 with a three O 5 OBP four ten slugging 7 15 OPS and 86 OPS plus in a full season in 2008, 159 games plate. 14 homers 72 RBI, right? That's bad. Real bad. And he was playing second and all pressure was off, and he was coming off of 2007 season where he had 19 bombs in 97 ribs and a one 19 OPS plus. He was coming off a 2006 season when he hit 15 homers 78 ribs, three 42, 360 five OBP one 26 OPS plus. Canoe was never really an on base guy, so you can't judge him from that. But he was coming off a spectacular 2006 season, a solid O 7, and then a brutal O 8, why the step back? Not really sure. We consider the 2008 Yankees modern disaster, but they want 89 games. They had Jason giambi Derek Jeter Alex Rodriguez a decky matsui playing every day. Johnny demon. Good lineup. Plenty of protection there. Obviously, the difference between O 8 and O 9 and they made a button name in the market to share adjustment. They went all in. Canola leveled up between age 25 and 26. The next year, one 21 OPS plus, after that never had a total below one 33 with the Yankees ever again, became a different player. MVP finished 17th in 2009 after, again, his career felt like it fell off the tracks in 2008. So I ask you, for me, it's a simple with labor as, you know, we don't know what's going to happen and ask me again after 2022 because if he doesn't make the Robinson Cano style leap and who knows what Robinson can know what substances he was using to facilitate that, I understand if he doesn't make a Robinson Cano style between 2021 and 2022, then great. Then I'm done. Then you have to cut your losses and cup 8, but as of now, there's no justification for me for dumping Robinson Cano to what accommodate Ruben and odor on the bench. He's not your shortstop. He should be on the team getting plenty of opportunities next year. Yeah, if you look at this at a greater lens, it's one bad, it's one full bad season. It's a 153 games at this point when you combine 2020. It's bad defensively bad. But everybody has bad seasons. You're not gonna aside from the all time greats , you're not gonna go to any single baseball reference page and not see a couple of egregious years in there, whether it was because of injury, whether it was just because of a regression, whether it was because the player was dealing with mental issues or off the field stuff. We never know what's going on. So, yes, I mean, at some point, not at some point..

"Emma Radha Cano is that the way it's their name get used to seeing her around that tennis star that won over the weekend. Who is a model looks like a model. And won the US Open. She's going to be everywhere all the time. She'll be selling you your Wheaties and you're Your Coca Cola. Um, you know, I'm not proud of it. But I went for some Clickbait the other day. Stars in bikinis with their dogs, which which drew you in the combination, or was it the dogs? I think it was just the obvious of the combination. Um, and so I clicked on it. And I hit like the ninth one before I recognized the single name and I was reading about the VMAs last night. The video music awards Everybody, of course, sitting around watching Music videos on MTV, and I'd never heard of the host. I don't think Happy Award winners. I've never even heard their names. Madonna showed up and bared her arse. If you can believe 72 year old Madonna came out on stage. Showing her hind end like she's still a sexpot. I don't get her act at all. Well, and then there's all sorts of calculated outrageousness and in the way that, you know, entertainment for kids and young people is, which is fine. It's just it gets to be a little old hat once you get a little gray around the palace, So do you think the was calculated outrageousness in the hallways? When Connor McGregor almost got in a fight with one of the singers that looks pretty real to me? Just the Little clips I've seen in pictures hard to say is he is a crazy person. He has a nut. Um, Yeah, but Anyway, what I was gonna all leading up to was that, uh, you say I got to get used to that tennis player girl being around? I don't think I do. I just I probably will never never hear her name again. She'll just be a really cute girl who is honored to be in a bikini on page six. Occasionally. I have. I think Major. 2024 presidential news. So I have that for you this half hour. Folks. If he turns his back, I'll take him out. I just got to wait for the opportunity to counter McGregor honor on him, and I promise I won't bring it up really bizarre rock and roll death coming up in a moment or two. But first I thought this was interesting. The drummer choked on his own vomit. Now that's a regular rock n roll death. I'm Chris Star. Walt wrote a really good piece about how presidents in recent memory or just going clearly for unconstitutional measures, knowing they'll be struck down as we're stating last segment. And they get the points from their side for trying real hard in the Supreme Court saved their bacon. It's almost like you know if, for instance, Connor McGregor said something unkind to me and I said, Let me at him. Let me at him. Knowing that Jack would hold me back, so I wasn't going to be killed. Jack is the Supreme Court. The president says. Let me at him. Let me at him knowing he can't throw that punch. It's crazy. But it flouts the constitution. It's a terrible habit, and we're getting worse and worse at it, but Their wallets, writing about how Obama was claiming that the Constitution's north star is in the preamble. That's a more perfect union and and the pursuit of happiness and blah, blah, blah and how that really empowers the government to fulfill those promises, which is course of load of crap. The preamble to the Constitution is a sales pitch. It's not it talks about this constitution. It's the introduction before the Constitution. And picking up with Star Wall Contrary will Obama's claims the Constitution's North star is its resistance to authoritarianism? Even or maybe, especially when a majority supports it? The Constitution the bill of rights are fundamentally anti majoritarian documents that make it harder to give the people what they want. Anybody ever talked to you about democracy and the majority. The Constitution is not say that all things that we deem to promote the general welfare or the other aspirations listed in the preamble er, therefore permitted. And then he has kind of a funny example. But it's a tangent. The preamble is the explanation for why the rules must be strictly followed. Our failed in derelict Congress helped create this mess not just by its selective partisan defense of the constitution from executive abuses, but by its inability to exercise its power to meet the demands of the people. Presidents have exploited this weakness and pave the way to Of authoritarianism as they want. They will not. We will not lose our liberty leaders pursuing unpopular decisions, but rather to those who violate the American system to give the people what they want. With Biden's recent gambits. We've laid down fresh tarmac for that road to ruin just like to make that point. Occasionally, the point of our government is to protect us from the majority, not give ultimate power to the majority. So not for presidents to, you know, get a mob behind him shouting lustily, and that you know, might makes right constitutionally speaking. I'm looking at a New York Post headline. F Joe Biden Chance break out at college football games? Yes, because apparently is that because they're they're masculine, sor unvaccinated Or what was it all about? Don't know precisely. It's a number of places around the country some of the chance small, some of them big. I listened to one and it was kind of an impressive but I don't know. That's probably part of it.
