"So the kennel methods really help us. Kind of clarify which attributes are important which are not which are critical and is going to be very important the input to one of the further methods that we always talk about a little in discussion. Here which is a quality function deployment is the feeding mechanism to quality function deployment. So that's one of the methods. That i i really like very much. Conjunction with our counselees nearing masks. You can help me with this. Because i've sure you've looked into more. I've heard pronounced can new candido and i think of some other ways as can new the what you hear most. Yes we hear it in fact so you've been have i that that that can note myth right up which is more info size sizing each of the words different different labels that we used to dating informed to college. I think it's a very useful method. I remember when i first came across this model. Just good moments for me right because it really says that there's a level of quality that customers care about and as you quality you might think of as specific attributes or just how much attributes delivered in some form. And once you get above that level. We don't care anymore right. The customer doesn't care. Why waste resources trying to make that better and at the same time. There's some fat attributes that are distracter. And actually you pursue those and you're eroding the value of the product and all this kind of comes into that realm of you know how we go about selecting the features to create the benefits that the customer cares about and not focusing on those that don't provide real value and certainly not focusing on those that are distracted in the end in something important elect to what you said. It is the fact that sometimes especially when you're dealing with products that are heavy on technology you tend to believe that gaming more to the customers is better we can have that mentality giving more an offer we call gold plating right. We make something better because we can exactly in ghetto. Method allows us to make one. I'm on others like you mentioned by won't basic distinction. What are the must helps to have to determine its inner intrinsic value. That consumers will consider it. After as you mentioned we have other elements that improved perception of quality. But it also help us clarify. Now why is that so important at least for my perspective is because that that must have basic function is the one that determines the cost of the product in. That's what we can optimize today. And of course improve in many times if the source of differentiation asian. Let's don't forget that mean that the case of pioner sound. We never thought that sound could be improved because we're used to hear things in a natural setting but some can be improved and ways..

Interview with Dr. Hector Garcia

"WanNa welcome my friend Hector here. How how are you I know I ask you how you're doing but give us give us the real deal because a lot of people psychologically are suffering during this time because of masks. Social, distancing at no gatherings of over ten people and all this stuff you and I talked about this a little bit the other day how are you holding up and what kind of recommendations do you have for people who are finding incredibly difficult in this changing world? Oh, it's rough. I mean bottom line is you know we are we've talked about this. We're we're social primates and and we we. Our brains are adapted to interface with other other people and it's it's it's hard. So you know we have to get creative about it used social media you know. Get. Zoom chats I mean interact as much as you can. So how I've been dealing with it is this insufferable insufferable boredom is is just by trying to get creative and I actually. Had A first show on my new youtube? Channel. Dr Hector. Trying to trying to do something like that. But yeah, it's hard read interact exercise trying to gain too much weight. And try not to develop a drinking problem. What can I say I don't know if we put up your splash screen because I was distracted the moment but I know that your new podcast, you were getting help from genetically modified skeptic and you want give him a shot as well. And if there's I, know is the podcast on the link for the splash that up I didn't even say. React should be yeah. Drew McCoy from. The genetically modified kept a key produced it. I love juice show. He's a he's probably one of the smartest young. Free thought content creators out there. So check out his staff to while you're at it. So there's all the information you can use to find more. What are you working on lately or have you started like book number seventy, three or something? You know I I've been just the PODCAST. I'm working on book chapters things like that and evolutionary psych I'm. Kinda staving off the urge to write another book on the psychology of false belief in the in in the. In time of of covid nineteen deniers and people who you know regard a donald trump as as a true bona fide a Christian. You know there's a whole psychology about that that I think the world needs to know about. So trying to not start a new book on because they don't have the time right now but I think probably will end up doing a podcast on that topic because it's it's huge. Well, it'll be interesting and as a reminder, the atheist community of the the atheist experience sponsored by the Atheist Community of Austin a nonprofit nonpartisan. Promoting, positive atheism and the separation of religion and government You can go to eight, thousand, five and community. Dot Org for more information there. What do you think you want to jump in and start talking to some people about what's going on in their lives and what they believe in why list jump in I got it we got Jonathan the UK. Your Question value partners. It seems like you made a good weeks call in about it. Hi Matt. Hi, hi Petra low. I think if I'm right, you'll both go to Christian background. So I think that might help you on. So this one I do not, but go ahead. Okay. God then dismissively Matt. Prima. Listening to a few things in the past you've got much Chris, Candido background and I have and. my wife is a Christian and she's been through some very difficult things of lights and is is worried that the feel that is is punishing her. And I want. So advice on how to handle that without challenging have faith. Because I'm well, I'm happy to challenge group of outside of magical this. Stay married not trying to change about my wife. I understand and I don't think that anybody has having sort of Christian background thoughts on this and I. Think I'm really looking forward to to heck your thoughts on this specifically but it so the question would ask if somebody came to me and said Hey I. Think God is punishing me and this is why things are going wrong in my life. My I don't know how to address that without challenging what their beliefs are you. You are challenging a belief. You don't necessarily have to challenge every aspect of that belief. You can say, well, if God is punishing you I, mean, have you been? Faithful God of us since early reached out to find out what's going on. If you ask God and maybe you're not getting an answer. But if you're doing everything, you can to try to be right with God and God is still punishing you or you think God is still punishing maybe it's possible. You're wrong and that really what's happening here is that God is punishing you but you are the type of person who is looking at this and thinking that's the case and you need. I really can't go beyond that other than saying, how do you tell the difference between I think God is punishing me and got his actually punishing me but I don't know how to ask that without really challenging somebody's face. Yeah, it's hard. My you know the the only thing I would like to say about this is that. When you're going through problems and and you project those problems onto onto God it's just it's almost like you're you're moving your own agency from solving these problems and then it becomes kind of like negativity bias like any bad thing that happens you think, oh, I, am being punished being punished and it just kinda compounds because that's what you're focusing on. It just seems like like a really negative spiral. So I don't know I'm I'm I'm more curious about? The reasons behind why you wouldn't challenge her belief on on this topic besides wanting to stay married as Matt mentioned.

"candido" Discussed on Dear Sugars

"Okay. I'm gonna read the next letter. The last letter actually dear sugars recently, my closest friend told me he was in love with me after a whole week of discussing what it would mean for our friendship if we became romantically involved with each other. We decided we wanted to be in a relationship. I had originally wanted to test the waters without telling our friends, but he insisted that he wanted a relationship, and that we should be open with everyone about it, our friends and families two days later, we were having a conversation overtaxed, and I mentioned that I'd told one of our mutual friends about our relationship just as he'd asked me to do. His response was I'm not sure this is worth shaking up our social structure soon, it became clear that he was looking for an out from our relationship. I'm not one to beg someone to be with me. So we ended the conversation and our relationship then and they're overtaxed two days after it began. I told him I was humiliated and heartbroken and I asked him to leave me alone. I haven't heard from him since my question is this sugars what now this is one of my most important friendships, we've been in constant contact for more than a year can our friendship survive. This she'll they want it to clearly this is not the man for me when it comes to love. But I'm most upset that he would treat a friend this way was this a lapse in judgment or does it speak to his character. It's okay for him to not want to be with me romantically. Even though he told me he's been in love with me for months, but I'm torn about what comes next and how to handle it signed bewildered friend. So this is a lapse in judgment that does speak to his character. This is a catch and release kinda guy. The whole idea is to catch. And the moment you've got it. Then you release, and boy, I'll tell you what a trap door he opened underneath you. Who's the moment? You say, hey, this crazy thing is happening. I need to tell you because my now boyfriend, I guess stole me. I should you know that we should he just drops you like a hot potato by taxed like, oh my God. Clearly, you're not going to be romantically involved in. He sounds like until he gets his shit seriously straightened out and comes to you with an apology and explanation. I wouldn't let him anywhere near you. And I know that's a painful thing to say because you're still attached the idea that you're going to retain this friendship. I'm sorry. That is take the romance out of it. That is not how a friend behaves. I agree with d filled her friend, and I think that this sounds. Kind of harsh. But I think you had a break up, and he treated you badly, and you decided to part ways, and you told him not to contact you anymore. And I think that you need to just go forward, and there are other people with whom you can be friends, and there's also the possibility that he'll circle back to you. But let him do that work. I mean, if we all mess up we all get confused. We all say one thing one point and camp, keep that promise. And I think that if he comes to that realization that in fact, he wronged you, and that he does value your friendship, you know, let him be the one to come to you and say that what I really hope you've won't do is go crawling back to him and say, please, please, please. You know, be nice to me again, because I value our friendship too much, even though you treated me like shit. You know, the person who who did the wrong needs to take responsibility for that. And say I'm sorry, and I want to make amends and so build front if indeed. This friend of yours comes to you and says this then let him back in and see what happens and see if those regrets are sincere. But I don't see any reason for you to loop back and say, oh, I value friendship so much must be saved because he destroyed it. And so, you know, you just need to walk forward. My dear does walk forward and put this guy behind you into circle back to to the, you know, the first letter that we talked about which was very much about, you know, what are the perils when men and women heterosexual men and women engage in a friendship and Candido as lead to.

How about this one? You have out that a talking about Cardi beating offset. How about we talk about? How about we talk about RIMI mind Pap who's? Black love. Excellent. It's beautiful beautiful. You can stay on talk about it. And that faded is going away tomorrow. Right. That real kind of solid black love. Well, they're expecting a new baby Candido no to sex or anything about anything yet details because they've kept it that way. But I heard the song Pappas every me put out called golden child. If you hurt the song, I highly recommend you go and listen to the song, and you will hear a beautiful ballot about Pappas Ramaz relationship and everything that they have went through in order to get to this place where they're going to bring another child into the world their child, and I absolutely love where me I can't tell you a love Remmy. But Pat to you know, an age where we're talking about the feminization of men and about toxic masculinity. You look at it do like, Pat Poos and he likes three street do roughneck all the way around. But when you hear them talking about RIMI, and when you hear them talking about his kid, and when you hear them talking about how he's looking forward to bring her into the her or him into the world, and all of the things that he wants to teach them and all of the lessons. He wants them to know how he wants to raise them is statute about who they are. And what they are. And what they can become just to like hear him talk about it and lets you know that like stop paying attention to that toxic toxic masculinity bullshit as star realizing that real masculinity can be strong and tough and rugged and violent sound. "Blue instead only not just the red and white in this case could well i i didn't she i wasn't cheering for candido fully some people got that a little sideways but i was not sad when sydney crosby scored for canada to vanquish my homeland of america because i am a pittsburgh penguins fan was that weird in your book till i thought you were going to say because we decided not to use nhl players and that was something that was deserved because we weren't using our best players in the olympics uh well i'll tell you i as far as that goes well i'll answer that question in a man and a man okay i am going way back mutaqin that no yeah that's a hater country over everything i can't be happy that my guy scored the goal you can be happy different to support cheered i might mine i listen it wasn't an intellectual choice my heart my gut told me out a field and they both the proclaimed with glee when eight have you ever let's say to steelers game if another team scored a great touchdown unom may an atr drawn or a onehanded catch of you have a cheated now but i have i have felt happy that a guy ahead and fantasy playing the steelers scored that's why i try not to start those guys back against the steelers i don't want that conflict this is worse than that this is worst thing for a fantasy score over your own while i asked i asked someone who had a hand in that event his name is sydney crosby and this is true here is sydney crosby answering this very important question i got a lot of he because i'm an american guy pittsburgh penguins guy through and through and when you when the game went over time in the olympics i said out loud that i don't want any canadian to score but if crosby can score the game winner i'll be over the moon then you did cheered loudly and i was called the unpatriotic we're.

"Bridge it's kind of pretty it's really pretty i i didn't know what that was i thought his that it is that some that should happen because usually ice doesn't look blue like that but they say that it is a natural phenomenon i photograph the blue ice before it's so incredible because what's happening is it's the ice so dense its forming up in the in the lakes where there's not a lot of air getting in it so the bubbles in ice is what causes all the light to get through while not a lot of light gets through through this ice because it's so densely packed than it was so still when it froze that it causes israel dense ice it that light can't totally get through so it gives it a b a blue look and what even more amazing is it'll pile three stories high because the wind to blow it up on shore and it starts to pile up in these giant chunks that are the size of a car sometimes and it starts to build this wall which a lot of people don't realize how wall late got its name is the lake everything would blow over to one side of the lake from the winds and it would build a big wall of vice every year by the way any time that i ever listen despite talk like that i feel like i'm mesmerized now hang knows as a key is like my phone a friend if i ever was on a trivia contest thing for us i may autographed it on lake sinclair as i had to look up like why is it blew look this is really weird i was thinking of media really it was chemicals i'm like i'm gonna blame candido know something's going on this lake and found out was the opposite it was because it was so clean and still i've learned that if you ever want to know how blue ice forms as spike if you ever want to have a some pump installed ask mike's future wife alley they'll be able to tell you that uh and then finally.

"The state association candido's a lot of that was kinda modeled after what it really cost but uh you know every time we run premier potholes in and road construction and bumpy rogge's is only when i talk to people one of the big things they mention quite regularly is bumpy roads so that's why i put it on my fire is something that we need to improve well you know that's winding i figured out you know the mirror drams of pick up what is a is a purely new pickup up with you know suspension is pretty good and most people drive you know pretty uh pretty nice cars and had really nice suspension but if you drive an old 95 and like me i feel the bumps i've got at eighty seven chevy pick up that i drive sometime yes you can feel the bumps were a lot of times he's newark are as the you know the the no you don't feel it too with the suspension the abbott to the bumps our dear uh getting back to you know won't in a fortyfour street minnesota gets the most traffic in that type of thing but uh what would you do too to counteract that we you know potholes is a camera of a seasonal we winter promo the climate of south dakota is a good way to get potholes we get all of all of these free fastcycle and they're really hard on roads but i think with a little better preventative maintenance week we could do better i i've seen times when it city goes through an puts down a road and a few years later cracks along all the joints and then they tear it up and that put packed his were all the joints arnn that works for a while and then pretty soon route rip not the whole wrote again i think of we had better of maintenance and seal those joints on a regular cycle than hopefully we'd get less need to tear up the.

"You had to address the offense goes into reportedly at halftime asked matt candido who if anyone see pit football last year is an offense predicated on shifts in motions and a lot of windowdressing a lot of complicated mechanisms that he asked during the game for him to do away with because they had some young guys in the offing of like if they weren't having success had to address after saying you to go out and say that this is the offense of coordinators offense execution of yasuda should much all folks low he added a replay everything others last week for the first time awards of superfly all leadership should motions a new little short to freshman so what are the will be in place showing you ought to block all of over the littoral this much offers hero he calls it he's scripts replace of this is often first elazragh michael junior here on espn radio and the s p an app at that right there is telling but the fact that eta or drawn felt so compelled because of the pressures and all this go in the midst of the game if they man hey listen i know we brought you into do this one thing but maybe don't do this one thing right now but you don't bring mack canada in without understanding vis the offense you kind of signed up for you have one of the best running backs in college football you've all these different things and i think people misconstrue man to convert the conversation match offenses of a story for another day like this is an offense that is complicated windowdressing why not complicated and what it wants to accomplish achieves conner that from pit last year but they still want to hand the ball off took the rock and do all that put this comes down to a dead when you look at the situation and you say alright produced in the first five games we're gonna already start having this conversation around your job it makes coaches act out makes them act differently and when you do this on a broad level when you do this this is the story across all of college football we saw this for klay held that i see we see this everywhere or you of.

"What's going to win out god's love for god's holiness and uh and the beats just just wrote this beats on beats sagren it is god more concerned with his holiness than with his love for example is love the method in holiness the priority so like f one had to win which one will win in in a way this is another way to say like uh you know uh well how big as hell candido well her way to gloss part of this is it's a way and we didn't get to this in the video because it would add another three minutes to it wasn't part of the purpose does the way that the cross fits in to the story line because the death of jesus becomes the way that god justly deals with death an evil and corruption he destroy said he puts it to death by taking that death in himself through the death of jesus and then in jesus is resurrection from the dead it's about life it's jesus being recreated as a to be a part of the new holy creation and so the way that god's holiness and lot of meet together is in the death in the resurrection of jesus so god does erotic evil from his world by by punishing it justly it's called the crucifixion that's what christians belief about the cross and the god did that instead of doing that to all of us and so even though there is a tension i think part of the core christian belief is the in the death the resurrection of jesus god's holiness and love meet together perfectly.
