"To help. Unleash what's great within them. So that you can donate the greatness in yourself. An from the sun. Congratulations. And could you identify a turning point paps this season teases been so many races at a don't remember the mole? I think when I came back Silverstone's firstly being on the on the on YoM, circuit is always something so special, and when you see that crowd that really lift you up then they just ever since my first goal in pre. But most most probably most importantly, the second one two dozen. I could see the guys in the grandstands. It's probably the first time. I started noticing people standing up and cheer me on. And and that had never faded full these years being going to free. So it's coming back from Las to second for me, in my mind is I k- I think that might have been quite a confidence boost. But then of course, we went onto some some great races after that Budapest oversee going into the break. This is great going into the break with with them with a win, particularly when we knew that we weren't quickest that that point. Of the season. And we knew that that was confident blow of more so to the other team. And and then how can I'm munza. I think just going from strength to strength off to that. And we just kept taking a step up. And but look we we're still here in Mexico. And it was a tougher expressed today in the fries clicking on us again. So I think undying we've been very very close on performance for the year. And I think still arguable whether or not we've had the perfect perfect package. But I think as a team we have uprated better than any other provider. See the times Lewis, congratulations. What are your plans? Now, how he celebrates won't happens chain hair in Brazil. He knows gonna sound really boring, which it is probably because I don't I feel very very content right now just feel very happy. I know he's been. I'm looking forward to going to sleep. But a. But I ready trying to cherish this moment. Because I know I won't there's only one this this moment woman lost for a period of time. And then you moving onto the next thing and time is just so precious. This is a precious moment for me. So I'm just trying to absorb it and retention, and I still have to work to you know, still got. Still going to get back to the factory and rally the troops next week to figure out how we can come back and win these next races. Have no idea why struggled so much in these last two, and we feel the pain of not win knows races. And we still have constructive championship to win which I know means booming even more to all the guys back at the at the factory. So that's the focus. But right now, I think tonight, I'll leave this beautiful country Mexico. Mexico City's always been good to me, and does the people here the food has been great that those talents. He has been exceptional. So always enjoy my time here and looking forward to coming back. I'm probably going to come back sometime in January to train and so often enjoy myself, and but until then I think I I'm looking forward to seeing dogs. I'm gonna see my Dokes tonight. So unconditional love of pet is is something quite special. I know I think I've got a lot of friends that are around me. So probably I'm sure we'll we'll. Come together and really try to embrace the moment. But yeah, as a Santa still vote racist I want to win so they conflicted. "Is there of course, another group of standouts were inducted into the Canadian motorsport hall of fame in Toronto. And here are a couple more for you between them they have won the NASCAR candidates championship. Half a dozen times at six in case, you come from a strange place considered to the pest short-track late model stock car races in the nation. That part is certainly sincere and true more than deserving to be included in the Canadian motorsport hall of fame. Scott's Declan DJ Kennington on race line radio. Scott's decling when you started this while squirt, did you have any idea that one day you'd wind up in the Canadian Motors for hall of fame? It's a silly question. But you're not doing your job. If you don't ask. That question you've got to be pretty pleased and pretty proud. Yes. I'm definitely pleased and proud when I started twenty six years ago. I, you know, I don't think I even knew there was a Canadian motorsports hall of fame. I didn't not have been. I didn't know how point systems worked in racing or anything. We just built the car went to fund, and we found out, you know, you had to go back every week for the points. And no I never ever dreamt of of being in the Canadian motorsports famous for championships. What was the everybody asked you that? What was the secret to click in a muff? One is hard enough to get more than one into get as many as you have is not an easy deal. No. It's definitely not easy. It's it's all teamwork. And I had a great team behind me for for years. You know, it was great. I felt we could even want some more if we would've continued, but I definitely can't complain vote. My career it was a pretty amazing. Was it the right time to get out of the seat in and just be a team owner and work the sport from that end was at time. I I definitely think another couple years would have been, you know, the main goal, but just the way ahead everything structured with twenty two racing in the business end of it. There was no way. I could do it on a on a very limited budget. So in that aspect, it was time to get over the seat and just run it more as business as far as driving. I feel. I was you know, just everybody was gelling, and we were just getting really really good, and we definitely could've want some more four time NASCAR series or NASCAR Canada series champion Scott steadily up. I often wonder when you're driving, but you've also got a business interest in it. And you're also looking at it from the business end and the administrative end on how that doesn't distract you from what? What you're doing behind the wheel you see this happening? So many times drivers have other teams and are working on it from a business aspect that never seemed to be a problem for you. I mean for championships you were able to once you got the helmet on and the and the belts tight that stuff. Didn't distract you Scott. And that's kinda unique. Yeah. One one like you said once I got driving the car. I was fine. It was just leading up to the race with people coming from all different directions. Because of eight or whatever, but it did get harder and harder. So that's why I made the business decision to step away from driving. When I didn't have the good financial support. There's got to be a couple of times, though, is your team owner watching them around going around going, man. I wish I could if I could just get in there. I know exactly what he's talking about. Right. Yeah. There's so many times I just wish I could get in the car, and when you know, the driver's saying the car's doing this or doing that and just feel it once, and I just wish I could get in, you know, in and see what it's doing, but we have to leave it up to the drivers. And and we do the best. We can we had a great season. We won four races..

I stuck it in their show. I can do that. They're green checker finishes. Anyway, Don Bain doesn't like the time they waste and neither does Kurt Busch. You know, and neither do I. And he says your trivia answer D C C D stands for correct. So he's in once again with another entry way to go Donnie listens. Of course, as we said in Windsor on AM, eight hundred CK L W, Wendy Hollis, the lovable merit villain maniac. Another news talk six tenths. He keeps. Catherine's listener, Eric. I will work at appears to me that neither the ladies or any part of their backers really had any input or say towards the formation of a series as a way to showcase their abilities and help obtain a potential right in the future. It appears to me that the men involved we're looking for a way to make themselves. Look good. Well at the same time seeming to appear to advise. Since ladies racing opportunities it smacks a little bit of male chauvinism. Woo. I feel unless the female racers have a more substantial say in how this thing is set up and run and she could be right here. She says the series will go the way of the dodo and powder puff racing. Just saying she is she right. You know, Eric radio dot CA is it male chauvinism. And she says I got two more questions for. Yes. Oh, first of all she says wondering this idea of racing for female drivers may have been dreamt up by Teflon king. "You know, when they had the big split, and I'm actually going to mention that tonight, and my speech that everything looked like Newman gloom. But then you you've got those people out there the believed in IndyCar, and you know, they're coming through to lead in the product believe in it. Yeah. And as you know, I've been told before when you got a problem fixed problem, you know, and I think they have. And I think like this year we had record number of cars, and it looks like more for next year. That's amazing. And the car count is is coming back up. And that's that's very nice to see having done. So many of these does it get any easier. Does it get any harder? I mean, you work with people. You know, you know, how the puzzle down on the lakeshore goes together to erect the site. But after so many of them Jim does it get any easier to start any earlier has the thought process changed over the years in putting this whole race track together? Oh, it's changed quite a bit. And as far as getting easier. It doesn't really get easier. Because. You know, we used to have. Well, we sat in the lap luxury with two months to set it up and month to take down now down to four to six weeks to set it up, and you'd better be under there in the week or week and a half. And it makes sense because we are disrupting, you know, the cities that we go to so having a shorter time period. You find better ways to do it. More efficient ways to do how many days to erect it, and how many days to tear it down to different numbers. Which is always fascinating to me Toronto's about four to five weeks to set it up now and two weeks out of there, including lakeshore. So it's a lot quicker to tear it down than it is to set it up. Is there any particular reason for that just on the you know, the all the little details? You have to get into when you're setting up a racetrack. It takes time. And it takes a lot of time block is blocked. But when you start dealing with the fans putting fences in place and at the same time keeping the city or the landlord wherever you are going. Yeah. That that becomes a bit of. Trick. But then taking it out. It's just it's grab and go one of the things that's good about it is the city has been behind this pretty much in the beginning. You're gonna have your detractors. But you know, when you compare it to a city like Vancouver who aren't necessarily anti race. There were some merchants downtown that are, but that coursing to change. The course it's it's no longer with us. But the city for the most part Jim has been behind this event knows the importance of the event and having a downtown. And I think that's one of the reasons why I guess it's gone smoother than some people thought it might. Yeah. Absolutely. And the city has been a backer of the race. I mean, if you look at what's going on lately with other cities, try never as if the city is not behind you. Don't even try. Yeah. You hear rumors about the race moving somewhere else. Most port. I don't think it's the same event at all. If it ain't downtown, Jim. And I think you might agree with that. Oh, absolutely. And good friend of mine just walked in the door. And in the beginning at your friend twos. Since my friend too. In the beginning. That was the whole key with Molson's. It had be lakeshore boulevard. It had to be downtown. And I mean, that's that's part of the draw. Jim congratulations on your ducks in the Canadian motorsport hall of fame..

"Different setup this year of course with subaru discontinuing their factory team but offering big incentives for competitors who runs sewer who's to make the field deeper but at the rocky mountain rally a very familiar bill at the top anyway ten times he rc and defending champion antwan moustache from since quebec and toronto codriver ach well and their rocket rally prepared subaru wwl rice s w r x sti privateer entry getting caught up with our friend antoine louis dies on race line radio did it really feel different to you this time around yeah it was it was good to be at their rally of definitely it's it's slightly different because we have we had to put something together with rocket rally in property chard and it was it was a bit complicated because the news last year came very late at the end of twenty seventeen so it was not easy to find find a backing into the proper sponsorship to do it but we minded we managed to find something and it's good it's not perfect but we thought let's give it a shot then it went really well and we came out with the wind so yeah we're quite happy with that is like you didn't miss a step at all right well it seems like you know doing this for so long now and and it's a it's a car that i know really well as with not like jumping into new car so it didn't take very long and we were back up to speed alan and eyeso where we were pleased with that because to be honest we were a little bit nervous but sure we're we're confident we knew we could do a good job but you know out of the car for for quite a bit and we did not have a chance to to do a little test or anything in that rally was not offering a shakedown so it was but hey when we started it felt it felt like home right away and we were able to set a good base right from the start and the the rest of their ali when really well so thanks to rocket rallied he did a very good job repairing the car because it was a bit of short notice yep they did a good job and we ended up with a good result and it's it's good that you you know remembering to that when you had the factory team there pat rashard in the rocket rally people were you know had a huge hand in preparing these cars so the machinery was prepared by familiar guy in a familiar setup so that was a big plus going into this wasn't it yet definitely in takhar built and it's a car they know when again it's not easy because the resources are not the same and they it went well so hopefully hopefully we can repeat that to be with you and alan you have such a good report and the car is more or less the same is there an adjustment mentally when the whole picture changes for you the factory support isn't there anymore but the championship is still there you still wanna do this it's a privateer deal is there a kind of a double clutching in your brain that you're going in now and do as many of these you can with this difference no mindset you know is definitely you know well there's there's two different different things that are different yet when you're representing a manufacturer yes you have more resources than everything but you have the pressure that comes with it you know we we we already put a lot of pressure and i will sell by ourselves but you still i want to do well you represent the brand and there's employee's behind this and there's a lot of things around performing well so you have that kind of pressure but at the same time you know you have the backing so you have you don't have as much pressure in that sense but as privateer we still want to do well even though we've done it for a long time or something we're not we're not bored of it so competitive we still want to do well if something goes wrong it's not it's not the same pressure as when you represent the manufacturer but at the same time if you have big problems or or an accident or something like that as a private or you don't have that too quiet money you know so you have you have that only.
