"Is the one to beat in the north, more love for motor city on the way. Back on NFL live and we were waiting on this one. CJ Gardner Johnson headed to Detroit. The top free agent safety now off the board. What an addition for the Lions. They're obviously stockpiling talent and we'll get to that. The lions have made their secondary a priority this off season. On top of Gardner Johnson, they brought in Cameron Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley and free agency, makes plenty of sense, right? Is Detroit's past defense ranked last in opponent QBR 31st in yards per attempt in 30th in first down rate last season, and Marcus, you like what the lions did on defense last week. It's like they're just stockpiling guys on guys here. Yes, yes. Not only did the lines do well towards the end of the season, obviously. But you also think about this team and how they've continued to press forward. This is the first time in a minute that I've thought the Detroit Lions outside of when Caldwell was there. They have a clear plan, a legitimate way that they want to go about playing football. They want to be physical. This is a team that plays with a lot of energy, Aaron Glen and obviously the head coach Dan Campbell has done a phenomenal job at changing the ecosystem and changing the way that these guys think about the Detroit lands within their own building. No better guy than Chelsea gardener Johnson. Y'all, we saw his impact in influence on Philly's defense. When he was there, my man buggy hit us with a stat I researching, which is phenomenal. When he's on the field, look at the QBR opponent. Look at the TD to interception ratio in the yards per attempt. This is one guy. This is taking one guy off the field. QBR goes up by 20 plus points. You see the TV interception ratio, 12 touchdowns to three in The Simpsons and 8.2 yards per play when Charles Gordon Johnson was off the field. You talking about impact and a team that believed that they can win early and often during the season and have a chance to do big things. That's what the lions did with this sign. And they're going kind of deep to forward or longs to short. They're going to coverage first videos like, you know, from a quarterback's perspective, they got 6 or 7 guys. Now they can cover. So we're talking, and I go back to Detroit to start last season. And they could not get off the field in the past game. I remember the eagles game vividly. I remember the Seattle seahawk game vividly when they had to get stops. They could not stop the pass. And the way that Aidan Hutchinson played last year, you sit there and go, they can cover that defense has got a chance, Aaron Glenda, duke coordinator, wants to play physical in your face, man coverage, to have 6 or 7 guys that can do it. If that front four plays as well as they did last year, now we're talking about a defense that matches a very good offense. Yeah. I swear the lions are like the official team of NFL live because every time we do a lion segment, everybody's mood picks up. The reason for our men. We all just like really love this team and the way they've gone about things and that continues with these signings in the secondary. Dan, you talked about how the Lions play a ton of man coverage. They also use the fourth most nickel in the NFL last year, meaning an extra defensive back. So what they needed to do was not only get defensive backs who can cover and play man, but they just needed volume, period. What I love about this signing particularly CG gardener Johnson is his versatility. If Tracy walker is still banged up, he can play safety. If he's not, they can slide him into the nickel. He can play a number of positions on this team, gives him versatility as they figure out where they want everyone to play. I also love that all these contracts are super reasonable. You got cam's son on a cheap multiyear deal. He Johnson, on a one year prove it deal, they all fit together really well. Don't keep and it doesn't prohibit them from drafting a corner either in the first round this year. It just strikes me as really smart, calculated team building. Real quick, where do they finish in the division? They're the division favorite right now. No question about it. I'll make the case to you right now that if they continue to add, if they had another piece on their defense and their offense stays healthy, it's them San Francisco and Philadelphia as the teams in the NFC. So I can't wait to see a really healthy Jameson Williams too. Time one more thing before we go. Who needs enemies when you got friends like booger McFarland, okay? Shouting out 6 p.m. sports in her hosts, our friend Kevin na Gandhi on his birthday with this photo. Look at this. The hoop earrings, jacket, no lapel, the turtleneck. Anyone got a guess on that year, wouldn't you? Yo, what year was that? Who is the Joey from new kids on the block? A 94. Piece of 84 coach this year. I like the experience. Kev. That's good. Mister steal your girl, Mina. Happy birthday. Kevin. Back in the day? What? New kids on the block. I don't know, was that a boy band? And he's a Philly guy. I mean, boys to men, yes. "TJ Gardner Johnson. He can blitz and in space he's phenomenal. In his intercepted, it's Parker Johnson. He's the spark plug on his back end. Super Bowl champion no Beckham junior is still a free agent. The high points the football touchdown OBJ. They need to go get a bonafide number one that is OBJ. Welcome to NFL live, presented by toro. One of the biggest weeks on the NFL calendar is here free agency is upon us and we are with you live with all the latest all week. Adam shepherd, we begin with the most up to date news and let's start with Jimmy Garoppolo. Yeah, he's going to the Las Vegas Raiders law on a three year deal with about 67 point two $5 million 67 and a half $1 million and he is going to be the man there in Las Vegas for a team that attempted to go up in the draft that didn't make it up to number one. They were happy to get Jimmy Garoppolo. It's a situation where he'll be the guy there in Las Vegas and I don't think you can raiders of the picking quarterback in round one. Javon hargraves gets a four year $84 million deal with the forty-niners with $40 million guaranteed. Do you think about that defensive line with javon hargrave Nick Bosa Eric Armstead they are loaded up front, a lot of people there, a lot of firepower in the defensive line for the forty-niners who have been busy today and the Detroit Lions are shunning Cameron Sutton to a three year deal worth up to, up to $33 million, a lot of incentives in there. So three interceptions for cam Sutton the lines need some help in the secondary. They get it there. As we carry on, is there anybody else? Mike mcglinchy, there's a lot of help for that O line and Denver Adams. Yeah, Mike mcglinchey's got a 5 year 87 and a half $1 million deal with the Chicago Bears or which the Denver Broncos obviously goes there. The Broncos also has Ben powers from the Baltimore Ravens four year, $52 million deal, so the Broncos at two players to their offensive line today and you take a look right there at some of the players who have shifted teams today. Then powers to Denver Jared sent him to Deborah Andrew Wally to the commander's TJ over to the bears Mike white to the dolphins case keener thin sections and no. By the way, tremaine Edmonds, four years, $72 million, 50 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears. Player goes to Chicago. Okay, that was great. We were waiting to hear when that would happen. You see everyone right here at Marcus spears is on his phone line. I'm just refreshing my timeline. There's Dan orlowski. That's out of chef who's with us for an hour, of course. We have Mina chimes as well and if Aaron Rodgers news breaks will bring it to you, but let's stay with tremaine Edmunds. Your reaction to hearing that. Putting the bears. I love it. I love it. Obviously we saw the bears. That's number one position of need. Obviously, with them having that whole rogue. Roquan, we're Rogue One department. And then you think about the bears. They have to solidify their front, right? Defensively, we know that the defensive line needs attention. More importantly, that offensive line needs attention, but I think this is bringing a veteran present in, which remains, and you feel a need, probably what you wanted to give ro corn and obviously he went and got a 100 million from Baltimore. Yeah, so the bear has been playing football a 103 years. They've been the worst scoring defense in the NFL twice. Last year was one of them. So defense is a massive need for them. My immediate reaction was like, well, if you were going to pay tremaine, that why would you have not just kept roquan, the difference is tremaine Edwin's Edmonds grew up under Leslie Frazier playing defense in Carolina, which is this traditional at least covered three cover two scheme, Tampa two mic, linebacker run through. That's exactly what Alan Williams, who's the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears wants to do. So it's probably a little bit more of we view roquan and tremaine as similar talents and or players, but tremaine has a great history of running the middle linebacker position in this scheme that Chicago wants to run. Yeah, I'll say a little bit surprising after they signed TJ Edwards, which is assigning I liked. You know, I thought he was good and Philadelphia, but that's a lot of money allocated to the linebacker position. Clearly a position of great importance to them still a ton of work to be done on that defensive line, something we suspect they'll address in the draft. This is a team that came into free agency with a boatload cap space, some of that, of course, went to DJ Moore, but we're going to talk about, but to dance point, I feel like this is about philosophy as much as anything, the identity that Lou getsi wants to bring to this defense that they're kind of making over. So positional value, I have some questions, but as far as the players that they brought in, they're going to make this unit much better. Yeah, let's see if they can add some help to the O line too. Now, news is going to continue to fly around here for the next hour and for this entire week. But let's get to some news that already came in. With Jimmy Garoppolo, now remember, here's the issue, right? He struggled to stay healthy in San Francisco, but has been productive win on the field. The Raiders are hoping that's what they get. Since joining the forty-niners in 2017, he posted a 38 and 17 record the 5th highest win percentage of any QB with at least 30 starts over that span. He's also posted the league's third highest completion percentage in the most yards per ten, but to be fair, he's averaged the most yards after the catch for completion, so some of that has to do with who you're throwing it to, the scheme, all that jazz. Mina does this move of Garoppolo going to the Raiders make sense to you. Yeah, it makes sense. I mean, there's like signings that make you scratch your head, signings you love. This kind of falls in the middle for me. It just feels logical. It's not overwhelming. It's something that a lot of us thought might be likely largely because of the connection between him and of course head coach Josh mcdaniel, the Daniels, you know, he had some success in the game he was granted in a very, very small sample size in New England, but the marriage between the coach and the quarterback makes sense. I think where it gets interesting and where this is up for debate is more is less about the player and more about the timeline specifically as a raiders fan. If you wanted your team to draft a rookie quarterback to go up and get a rookie quarterback as we just heard about, I think, you know, you can still do that with Jimmy Garoppolo, but the Raiders are probably more comfortable now just sitting at 7 seeing if a guy falls to them or potentially waiting till next year. And that to me also makes sense given how much teams have had to give up to go and get quarterback. Yeah, I see you want to say, I think this is most beneficial for Indy, who sits at number four. Now that Jimmy Garoppolo goes to the Raiders, they're no longer likely to jump indie and who Indy needs a quarterback. So I think that's one of the big things that comes out of this signing I've kind of two questions or points. Number one, we don't really know who Jimmy Garoppolo is outside of Kyle Shanahan. Again, he played a little bit to meanest point early on in New England, but a lot of quarterbacks that play for Kyle, play really well. So that's the big question mark is who's he going to be outside of the Marcus calls it insulated like the cocoon of Kyle Shanahan and the second thing is this for the Raiders, the reality and we called their week 18 game against the chiefs. They're defense is so decimated by a lack of talent that while I would have loved for them to get a young quarterback, this is probably better for the long play of their football team that they can address with that early draft pick and some of the draft picks that would have costed to go get the number one slot. I think the Raiders made their play for a quarterback in this draft last week on the day that the bears traded that pick away. They were one of the many teams that checked in with Chicago. Right. And explored a trade up. And ultimately, Chicago traded with Carolina. And the Raiders for a number of reasons didn't move up to number one. And so when they were sitting there at 7 and didn't get the ability or the chance to move up to number one, they said, we love Jimmy Garoppolo. Let's not waste any more time. Josh McDaniels worked with him in New England. He knows our offensive system. We believe in him as a quarterback. We're not going to go up any further than to the number one pick in this draft to pick the quarterback that we would have wanted at a steep price. It didn't happen. So we're going to cast a lot in the next direction. That's just the reality. Is it still keeps them behind Kansas City in the Chargers at best? Yeah, tough

"Because he's being chased he doesn't wanna take a big hit. Cameras sutton happened to be two steps. Closer to that quarterback devin bush or bud duprey were so who gets the sack cameron site and didn't even touch the guy right. Those were his. That was his tackle for a loss and a sack in twenty twenty twenty twenty one in game one. He has to legitimate tackles for loss already so just much better. He he is. He has worked on being outside corner. He's prepped for it and he showed that that showed up. Yeah he gave up some receptions very little yards after the catch and just played really. Well he was beaten for a touchdown the man he was encouraged on that down a little bit slow. Great throw though. I mean that's one of those plays where you just throw beat good coverage he was in really good coverage the throw is just better. I honestly i'm going to say. I think cameras just played the best game of his. Nfl career to this point. I mean that. Because i think he's the hardest role he's had to play and he was really good so for me. Cameras sutton great rate game. We've onto james pierre. James pierre was not coming on nickel plays like they thought they might you do instead. James pierre came in on dime snaps. So cameron sutton in the nickel was outside. The kept cameron sutton outside. They put traynor would in the slot for nickel in dime. James pierre came in for one of the linebackers he played outside and sutton slid right back in to the diamondback role that he has played so well for the last three four years. Pierre was solid again not great. You don't need greatness from your number. Four cornerback right outside of one incredible. Pass up he had in the fourth quarter they kind of bit of a blown coverage and you see james pure comment and just you know tomahawk chop the ball right out of the receivers hands and it was a cool play. But it's it's even better when you look at what happened after that. And this is one of those butterfly effect place of course. The butterfly effect is the theory that like a butterfly flaps his wings over here and a soon nami happens because a chain of events occurs right james pierre on second and six knocks the ball out of a receivers hands comes in bloom. Covers receivers wide open jane spear hustles over bam knocks the ball out pass broken up its third and six on third and six cam hayward sacks josh now fourth and twelve on that fourth and twelve play miles killebrew bursts through blocks the pie and the steelers score a touchdown if james pierre doesn't recognize that there's a bride receiver wide open on that play about to catch the ball. It doesn't make it there and knock that ball down the bills convert on second six instead of third and six and a hayward sack you have a first and ten very different drive and quite possibly a different result in the final score. So that's one of those moments. I'd like to pick out where people are like. Oh you know this play was super important. Sometimes there's plays that someone makes like that it's just a hustle play just a just a catch up play. That has a bigger impact than just. Hey you know that's the now. Go to thirty six one..

"It just doesn't happen so for me. I think to me it. Lines up with the addition of terrel austin the change in how the steelers use the secondary a secondary scheme that is much more designed to fit talents of the players. Then here's the scheme we ryan. You guys need to find how you fit inside the scheme. It's more we fit the scheme to the players. And now you start recruiting players drafting players. Who have already played those roles. And it's gonna work. Hopefully i'm right and this is a trend. we see. this isn't just you know they liked train. There would and he happened to work out right away. I i am very positive about the steelers future ability to draft cornerbacks with tara lawson keys butler in doing the defense together. I think it's fantastic. I i hope they stick around. I really hope we can keep both of them. And keep this going. Need to move on and coverage cam. Cover cameron sutton cameron's sutton just had a redemption game in two thousand twenty cameras sutton was forced to come in against the buffalo bills and start for joe haden. That's not a rule. He was used to write the bills. At halftime move steph on digs across the field to to go against cameron sutton and digs beats the snot out of mute talking about an all pro having the best season of his nfl career. And you're talking about cameron sutton. Who's a dime back and coverage specialists. Who is stepping into a role in matchup. These not ready for. He hasn't been training all season to be an outside cornerback. He's been training and practicing to be better in his role in his coverage specialist roll deep zones. Picking tight ends moving around all over the place as diamondback. His technique wasn't on point for an outside cornerback because he wasn't playing outside. Cornerback so the second half they move stuff on two cameras inside. They take advantage. They beat the snot out of him with digs. And that was really a turning point in the game. Now in this game sutton wasn't perfect. But he was all over the place early on he was helping norwood covered digs. He was making tackles in the backfield. I gotta bring this up because care had to legitimate tackles for loss in this game by legitimate. I mean last year cameras recorded a sack in a tackle for a loss one was a receiver caught the ball and fell down. Behind the line of scrimmage and cameron sutton to hand tapped him on his shoulders to record a for loss he got a sack because a quarterback was running out of bounds scrambled out. It was just running out of bounds..

"He's not a slot corner. he's dangerous. they're still you. Don't mess with you. Don't attack me. If it's patrick. And it throughout the bills game plan especially. They didn't early in the second half so like you go into halftime. And you're like all right. We've got this. We've got this train norwood. We got a bit of experience playing against him. Hey how are we going to attack him. Are we gonna attack him in haden. How are we gonna take him in certain. How are we going to go after this kid. And then you come out the second. Half and minkah fitzpatrick is your slot. Finder and tree. Norwood is the safety in nickel right like this just throws everything off all those adjustments you plan for it. Just it doesn't fit. What's on the field now. I think that's one of the ways. The steelers won the halftime adjustments defense. Is they just moved people around. They were like an now you now. It's not what you thought you were. See now what you saw in the first half. it's different norwood. Despite all of this. When he was in safety he played really well to he. He wasn't perfect right. I don't. I don't want to sell this. Bill does some kind of a superstar. He isn't all right. He is not a superstar. He is in my opinion on the level you saw around love. You saw cameron sutton is in two thousand eighteen sutton second season before two thousand nineteen when sutton really took off and showed his value. Two thousand twenty. It was more of the same and he showed he might be an option to even do outside. Two thousand twenty one. He's an outside corner. We'll get to cameron silence game and a little bit but norwood is ahead of the curve. He is. He looks like cameron site and did and cameron citing second year. Cameras up was a third round. Pick norwood's a seventh round. Pick what this says to me. More than the steelers found a good player is the steelers change in draft policy for this year. Were drafting of player. Because they fit something you already do. Not for okay. This player just has these physical attributes and this level of athleticism and talent and we can. We can teach them to play our system but actually finding players that already placed something that fit in this defense so that they have a entry level comfort zone right. Trading norwood in college played safety. He played slot cornerback. He played all over the place. But as i was watching him. Because i did the film breakdown on on him after. He was drafted his role. Was cameron. sutton's role. You don't cameron sutton. He's the a cornerback a safety. He's playing all over the place sometimes. He looks line up like a linebacker. But he's in coverage what you know. What's going on with cameron sutton. Yeah it's a role he's a coverage specialists and they moved them to different positions but his role was very similar. In all of those same thing for traynor would in college so come into the steelers right out of college. He was a great fit for a lot of what the steelers do for safety and almost all of what they do with their dime back. He had that level of comfort. Coming in. i've touting terrazas a game changer for the secondary frankly right now like where would you rank train norwood against most of the steelers cornerback save drafted in the last ten years. Go back go back. Seventeen years during the steelers drafted ike taylor. How many of you seeing were cornerback comes in for the steelers. Excuse me comes in week. Wine of their rookie season plays and plays well. How many times have you seen that..

"Just here to tell you I wrote about this at Wdr 5 50 dot com My Arrow Up Arrow DOWN COLUMN. That was a three yard pass. Officially, Josh was not three yards away from them. They were really more like 15 yards because Josh dropped back and gave Davis was in the back of the end zone. That throw was incredible. Cameron Sutton. I said, speaking of good coverage. Cameron Sutton, the DB for the Steelers was all over. Gabriel Davis. Hit him draped David says back was actually completely turned Josh Allen And I don't know how Josh saw him. But he did, And he threw the ball in the only spot that Davis would be able to turn at the right time. Catch it and then get two ft. Down if you watch from the back angle on TV and the replay I don't know at all. How Josh Allen could have seen Gabriel Davis or No, He was going to be there other than just knowing he's going to be there because they work on it. It was an amazing throw. It was a great catch. "A number of times yesterday, so maybe they just felt they couldn't stretch the field with a sweep against against that defense. For some reason that fourth down play, see, it's funny there, some that are really upset about what they called I'm not that upset about the call. It didn't work. Obviously, I don't. It's not what I would have. Gone for, but I don't really have too big of a problem with it. And the reason the thing I have a problem with as soon as you get in a tight formation on the fourth and short, I get upset. Any type formation. Broaden. Spencer Brown is eligible. They're going now They're going to run away from the giant people. They're trying to write this throwback to Brita. At least they're running away from the giant people which I do support. But as soon as you bring in the big package that the multiple, you know, extra linemen tight end what any sort of bunch I'm just nervous. You know what? And let me for all the times you ran four and five receiver sets just Hey, it's fourth and one. How about a five receiver set and Josh Allen falls forward. I mean, I've wanted this is their go to fourth down play for a decade. They did it a lot last year last two years, Alan has Spend money on those. So as soon as I see a big formation, I get nervous and those they had. I want to make a point about Gillian. But I'm just trying to check because they would have done there. It is on the touchdown drive at the end of the first half. I mean, it was in the red Zone. I don't know if that's a makes a difference. It shouldn't right Third and one at the Steelers nine Alan just kept it. They got to push. You got three yards out of they got a first down there later scored. Let me make a quick thing on Gilliam I would bring. I'll bring this up because someone tweeted this out that play where they threw flipped it back. Gilliam is supposed to block. I think it's Cameron Sutton was coming up the edge the cornerback and he didn't get to him in time. Someone tweeted out did not check this. So I don't know. I just watched it several times. Slow playing. Gilliam. They said they thought was slow playing. He was trying to sell the play. You sell the sneak or the run, Whatever. So he slow played it and by doing that, he wasn't able to get out to Sutton in time. Okay, get the block on. The definitely looks like they didn't execute the way they wanted to. Maybe the defensive look wasn't the other thing I would say is watch Brita. Breed is not selling anything. Uh, breed is looking at Alan like you. Uh, I mean, maybe right. If you Mackenzie came across to show a jet sweep, look, right? Yeah, if he stops, And if you I guess if you I would say And the fourth one. I'm game pass, just keep rewinding back and forth. It was after the SC Johnson touched on her before it. The fourth and one where it was. It's 10 to 6. It was before the touched. Okay, that came on the next drive their touchdown. Okay, So the fourth and one? Yes. Started. It's in the fourth quarter. Yeah, it's the first play the 4th 4th quarter because they kind of rushed on the No, I'm sorry. It's a second. It was early fourth quarter second play over the 10 to 6 second play the fourth quarter. Like what? Here? You have Got it for you. Watch. Brita. Is breeders selling anything here? Hey, selling it and move it out to get a picture. Something swinging sideways like right. It's just It's just not a good play. It doesn't work well for them, I guess what you'd say. 80305 50. Let's see Worf to Luke and Ontario. Look, thanks for holding on Go right ahead. Hey, guys, How are you? Good. Thank you. I'll be quick. And I'm actually quite proud of myself because I picked the bills in my survivor pool, and that ended But, uh, anyways, I'll give you guys three points and then I'll let you guys take it off. Aaron, I think most we've already talked about anyway. Um These are highlighted for me Just because you know Feed. The fact of the matter is like We have analysts that picked us to go to the Super Bowl still These things got to be highlighted and I get it's week one and there's no panic and they're going to look at, you know their film and fix it. But One big thing. It was the penalty calls. I mean, four holes. I think Dawkins was responsible for at least two of those, and I get it. We're past heavy team. That's right. Identity. Pittsburgh. No joke. I mean the past, Russia is good. But those were killer. I mean, when you're trying to pass the ball, and they're putting six guys back. And you're going back 10 yards. Um, you're gonna have a hard time scoring points, so I think we've really got to fix that up. The miss throws. I mean, you guys talked about it, too, And the reality is We've got Josh Allen. I mean, we're paying him 250 Mils. He's going 100 and 50 Million guaranteed. Can a wide open path to Sanders. I believe in the first quarter, Eddie meant to buy a couple of yards and I mean you're watching the highlights of the other games and the rookies are throwing in there. The throne, dimes. I mean, there's no excuse for that, in my opinion anymore. I mean, this may be one And if you're going to miss him as a close, but I mean, we can't be overthrown guys anymore, especially if our identities throw first. We can't do that. That would have put us up 10. Nothing. I mean, that changes the landscape of the game early, and, uh, so I wasn't happy with that. Um, and again we just talked about I heard you guys talking about with that fourth and one call. Um, I don't mind going forward. The thing that makes me amount. I think it's 10 6 at the time. Uh, You know the throwback like I get it. I understand, like, okay, We haven't done this or whatever. But I'm a firm believer of gold. Go out with your best pitch. And I mean, we watched Brady for 20 years. I'm pretty sure most cases with Brady Fourth and one. I watched that guy QB sneak in every time. Bring your top guys in. And if they stop again, and QB sneak, which is a high percentage play, you tip your cap and move on. And even sometimes with Alan just on this point, Luke, they've stopped Allen, and he gets it anyway. You don't like that. It's such a good play for them that even if they stop it, he frequently gets through on a second effort, right? Exactly Thank you. And and that's what made me mad because it's like, and we already did won that game and you got three yards? Yes, it's like a cheat code, and you decided not to use it. You know, he's a big guy, So I mean, take the take The QB sneak if they stop you fine. I'm not that upset by that. But I mean, if you throw it back, and the defense reason he crushes the eyes like, what are you doing? And then you're starting Pittsburgh off in good field position where you could have went the other way to say, Are we going to pay them back? Deeper defense like part of our defense, the most perfectly well But I mean, those calls are going to kill you later on. Especially when you start being silly things in the bigger than the Super Bowls and stuff. You're overthinking it. Just pull up to the QB. Sneak try and get it. Brady did it for years. Nine times out of 10. He got it. We got a big qv do it and move on anyways, Guys, I'll let you go..

"Fans are a little livid about it, too. So the Steelers are going to have the ball about the Buffalo 22 yard line, trailing by a score of 10 to 6. The Bills had another fourth and one in Pittsburgh territory at the Pittsburgh 41. They got cute. Josh Allen threw a backwards past and Matt Brita I don't think Brita was going to throw the ball because from what I could see, there weren't any bills receivers in the pattern, so I don't know exactly what they were thinking. Unless they're going to go back to Alan. Possibly I. It was blown up so quickly by Cameron Sutton. That we really didn't get a chance to see what the bills had in mind on that play, but it was a backwards pass that they lost eight yards on so that the Steelers were able to start this drive on the Buffalo on their own 48 yard line. And no Najee Harris finally is getting a chance to find some yardage, which he hasn't been able to do all game. Just a little while ago he had a nine yard run, and he just had another Fairly long run now, so now in 18 yard run, so the Pittsburgh Steelers are now going to have a first and goal on the Buffalo five yard line and you were. We were talking a little bit earlier about. Maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers should go for a touchdown as they had a first and goal or a third goal situation in the fourth and goal situation. They settled. For Boswell 20 yard field goal so that he has two short field goals by Boswell. We see if they can get their first touchdown of this game and take the lead in this game. As they got the first and goal from the Buffalo five yard line, and before I leave, I just want to see if they happen to score on this play, and they do. So the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to take the lead. It was a bobble play by in the end zone, but it's going to be a touchdown by Deontay Johnson, a five yard TD he was well covered by one by Wallace. But, yeah, that's going to be a good catch in the Steelers are going to take the lead, and we'll see if they get the extra point. But either way they are going to have the lead right now. It is 12 10 pending the extra point staler, sending a little bit of an early statement that they're still here and trying to make the playoffs this year. What a catch. That was, though by the anti Johnson. I think he got both feet in bounds so The Steelers up, we'll see if they could finish the game. There was a turnover from the Washington football team where the Chargers able to capitalize Let's go to the Rooster and Chris Russell. Yes, they were Zack and they've taken a 2016 lead with 11 21 left to go Justin Herbert just hooking up on the three yard touchdown throw and catch for Mike Williams in the back quarter of the end zone. Right after that turnover that you were talking about, which was Antonio Gibson. He was upended and fumbled and it was forced by Qaseer White and recovered by Kenneth Murray. Uh, for the Chargers, and that was just moments after Justin Herbert was picked off inside the Washington five yard line by William Jackson, the third who, of course, signed a big contract, leaving Cincinnati and coming over to Washington. It was the second red zone turnover of the half for the Chargers earlier And I don't think we even got a chance to talk about this month has sweat sacked, Herbert forced a fumble. Oddly, it came as he was throwing the ball shot forward. They ruled it a fumble. They reviewed it, and they kept it as such, despite replays, looking like he was actually throwing the ball so that resulted in a touchback and again a turnover for the Chargers because they were so deep in Washington. Territory. So really, the charges have hurt themselves here, and that's why they only have now a four point lead 20 to 16 with 11 21 left to go again. The big other story in this one is Ryan Fitzpatrick, out with a hip, of course, has not returned when ruled out. He left after just six throwing attempts and 13 yards. In his Washington debut. Taylor Hi, Nikki 10 of 13, a Buck 21 a touchdown and 1 30.6 quarterback rating So far for the Washington football team who trail Los Angeles 22 16 Jack back to you Now, with a little over 11 minutes to go in that contest, we are in the fourth quarter. Under 10 minutes to go, and this one Seattle and Indianapolis, Let's go to Tom McCabe. Yeah. Nine minutes and 56 seconds to be exact here, and the score is the same as it was at the half 21 to 10 Seattle with the lead the defense's for both teams, really taking over. In the third quarter and early here in the fourth quarter. Carson Wentz was just sacked, and it was very costly for Indianapolis. His third sack of the afternoon. It came on fourth down is Indianapolis was driving, trying to put some points on the board. They were down to the 15 yard line of of Seattle, but again once us sacked, and so, um Seattle takes over right now. Tried to put some more points on the board Carson Wentz, making his first start for Indianapolis after not playing at all during the preseason and missing most of our most of the practices. So far this afternoon. He is 19 of 34 184 yards again. He has been sacked three times. Russell Wilson, who's just completed a 20 yard pass is now gone over 200 yards for the game. He's completed 15 of 20. He's also been sacked three times and again. This goes back to the third quarter, when both of the defenses are shining. For both teams. As far as the Russian game goes Indianapolis lacking there, which just 70 total yards 122 for Seattle, Chris Carson with 81 of those Tyler Lockett with 96 yards receiving for Seattle. He has to Big touchdown catches this afternoon. So again, we have nine minutes and 20 seconds to go in this game, and Seattle has the ball and a 21 to 10 lead over Indianapolis. Every game right now is in the second half. Most games are in the fourth quarter. How are they going to end you'll find out when we come on back, and if you're interested In a little wager. If you're believing in Buffalo, I know that it's been a sloppy offensive day for the bills. They're down by three. If you still think the bills are going to come back and win on the live line right now, you can get them as a 2.5 point underdog. And plus 1 10 on the money line will tell you how the second half does play out how the fourth quarter all comes to a close when we come on back. This is ion football. Was that guilt? First up? Let's get an update in here is Seth Cantor. CBS for sale. Sports Flag. All right, Zack, this report sponsored by five hour energy, It's the one when you got to get stuff done..

"Wasn't going to play down to a third string left tackle against the strength and they see which is the pass rush so other colds. Moving the ball that well either this ticking up to forty nine and a half a i was a good underplay. Let's talk the steelers and the bills. Now this is one of those games. That is very intriguing. This is a steelers team that we know started off started off last season on fire pro. Start getting put out by the sports books. Will the steelers go undefeated. Is this going to be the team that we watch march all the way to the super bowl and then we found out. Oh boy that is not what happened at all. We remember they start eleven and they lose five of their last six games and not only did they lose five of the last six games when it was all said and done we realize that this is actually the second easiest schedule in the entire. Nfl that they played this past year and they still all five of the last six games. Matt canada takes over as offensive coordinator. They're they're trying to get some things figured out and situated now marquees. Pouncey did retire so he is not going to be one of the mainstays on the offensive. Line is no longer going to be there. If you look at these one score game Metrics here now doesn't really always tell the story here because sometimes teams can just backdoor into a one score game and all that but if you care about that type of stuff. They were seven. Two in one score games as well. So maybe there's a little bit of regression on that into people were jumping up and down about their them deciding to use their first round pick. Nashi harris running back. Whenever we've seen that this is a running back position that has been devalued a ton over the last five or six years in the nfl. That said the steelers worth thirtieth running the ball last year so they thought that this was going to be something that could help them. Do which again something that this team has traditionally wanted to do which is run the ball effectively. They lost by hilton steven nelson quarterbacks they lost alejandro villanueva offencive line as well and of course they lost budde. Do pre on the defensive side of the ball is while the get back. Devon bush from injury but bud duprey again one of the better pass rushing guys out there in the nfl. So brad. I know you have a play on this one and it is not on the steelers. It is on the team that is one of the favorites to win the super bowl in the bills. Yes and so a you again. You talked about the. I think the defense was overrated last year because they faced just an absolute joke of a schedule. It was it was backup quarterback galore and then when they did face proper teams and especially ones who could protect weren't not good because a unique of the secondary now and again. This is another team that's traded away corners. And there's there's not really much there on paper. Cameron sutton the right corner joe. Hayden is probably the you know the mainstay. And they're gonna be relying on him sees on the wrong side of thirty so as you say..
