"Am also a licensed contractor today, and I employ people. So people can be rehabilitated, but they got to have the right mind frame. And by God, you can not give people. I mean, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. And if you're not going to force them to do the time, then you don't need to be in that office. And you don't need to be in that position. Now, we're talking about giving billions of dollars away to Ukraine and I think you hit the nail right on the head there. We need more prisons, we need more rehabilitation centers. If we're ever going to correct this country, but our government has a cookie jar and they will not put that money back into America. Hey, Ron, let me ask you. Hey Ron, let me ask you a question. And great points all. Let me ask you. So I don't know how long you've been listening, but earlier we were talking about, you know, something that speaker of the Tennessee House Cameron Sexton said, which is basically a lot of these folks just you can't fix them. So I want to drill a little bit down if you could help me run. So you sound like a guy who is not the norm, right? So you've got all these prisons. You've got all these guys in prisons, a gang banging inside the prisons, and so forth. What is the difference between Ron and Illinois, who spent two years in a California prison, got his life together, made that decision that he wanted to make something of himself. What is the difference between you and the kind of guys that you were describing and how do we make sure that the guys like you, Ron, get out of prison, but we keep the guys in prison who are gang banging inside the prison and will certainly continue a life of crime outside the prison. Well, there again, I think, just sermon of character number one. Okay? You've got to be able to, before you just release these guys, these guys got to be able to work with counselors. They, you know, you have to put something into rehabilitating somebody. If you're going to college true, rehabilitation. Like I say, just can't lock somebody up in a cell and let them out for an hour a day on the yard and call that rehabilitation because it change is not rehabilitation. Right. I mean, that's just not. There's no education there. There's no schooling going on there and there's nobody showing these guys any love. Now, with that being said, there are some of those guys that are going to be repeat offenders. And they're going to be career criminals. And so when it comes to being a repeat offender or being a career criminal, then you have to have stiffer sentences, but you have to dump that money. I mean, us as Americans are paying billions and trillions of dollars in taxes, but none of that money is being dumped back into America. And Ron, I love your spirit. I love your comeback. You are a great story. And I really appreciate you sharing it with us here on red eye radio. The phone number, 8 6 6 90 red eye, 8 6 6 9 zero 7 33 39 will return next. Get in touch with

"And I think society is getting to a point where they've had enough. Well, I would agree with Cameron Sexton speaker of the Speaker of the House in the state of Tennessee. I do believe that the American people have had enough because it's not getting any better, but this is, this is part of the conversation that I want to have with you. You can't rehab evil. And these groups think that you can and you can't. So he's talking about being able to rehab, people like Cleo absent or Ezekiel, dewan Kelly. In the previous hour, I used the term irredeemable. You know, these guys and again, to hear the authorities in to hear the authorities in Memphis talk, you know, they know who these guys are because they're dealing with them all the time. But you've got these these cities like Memphis like Nashville and like all the cities that we all know about where they want to eliminate bail, they want to let all of these guys out early, you know, the rest of us law fighting citizens be damned. And that's the problem. I don't believe by and large that people like these two can be rehabilitated in the previous hour we're talking about abstinence. Who he was let out early four plus years early and it was supposedly for good behavior, but I'm hearing now that he was not exactly a model citizen. So by and large, I don't believe that these kinds of people can be rehabilitated. And I believe that it is smarter for America and smarter for states to decide, you know what? We're going to go ahead and build more prisons. Yeah, I made I made the connection in the last hour where we're giving billions and billions of dollars to Ukraine to fight Russia, yet here at home, you know, apparently we don't have enough prisons, or if the problem is just we have the prison space, but we have all of these leftist groups that do everything they can to pressure these DAs to let these guys out of prison early. Well then that's the problem that needs to be taken care of. There are people in these communities who vote for these county prosecutors and they vote for these district attorneys who decide that they will engage in soft on crime policies. And there are real world consequences to that. Just ask the families of the four people that were killed tonight in Memphis and the family of Eliza Fletcher and countless other Americans. You know, a lot of people talking about George Soros. I'm sure you know who George Soros is. But he is this leftist billionaire who funds these district attorneys across the nation in these big cities. Their soft on crime. I've seen stories that he spent something like 40 million dollars to elect 75 of his chosen prosecutors. He also wants to abolish bail, he also wants to defund the police, he works with as they describe it, a complicated web of nonprofits, but their ultimate goal is to end tough policing and mint mass incarceration. This is from the New York Post. The goal of the myriad of pacts that he has and runs is focused on electing progressives to end a tough policing in mass incarceration, according to Whitney Thomas, who runs these packs for a George Soros. She says in, you know, this is going to make me throw up a little bit in my mouth. If we, she says, if we are able to reach a place of true progress, she says it'll take the sustained efforts of local elected prosecutors across the country to rectify and reimagine their role in the criminal legal system. Not as gatekeepers, she says, but is active catalysts for change. And that was in an opinion piece that she wrote last year. So he has managed to place DAs in Chicago, Philly, LA, San Francisco, and other cities where crime is absolutely exploding. And that's what's going on. Phone number is 866-986-6907 33 39 when a say hello to Ron in Texas on red eye radio. Hello, Ron, thanks for calling in. Hello, good morning. How are you? I'm good. Thank you. Great. Here's my theory, just kind of follow me on this. What if they are doing the soft on crime to release these hardened criminals early so they can go out and commit these crimes with guns and then say, well, we need to take these guns away. Yes, I've heard that Syria before Ron. And I'll be honest with you, I don't necessarily buy it, but I do understand what you're saying. I don't think that's what's going on. I think that there has to be other reasons. I think that one of the things that the Democrats do with these soft on crime policies that you'll have to go with me on this one is they're causing so much chaos in streets across America. They're causing so much chaos that in cities across America that we're not paying attention to the other things that are going on. Like, for example, you've got illegal immigration. You've got failing schools, you got all the other stuff that is going on. And, you know, I think that for me, as somebody who is a big time supporter of the Second Amendment, for me, I think this is clearly more evidence that we need far more open carry laws. People need to be able to defend themselves. These are the same, by the way. This is the same party that wants to take away your rights to defend yourself. They will, however, empty these prisons and allow guys like the abstinence and Ezekiel Kelly to go out and do the abhorrent things that we've been talking about. Thank you very much for calling Ron Dan mandas here in for Gary and Eric 8 6 6

"To date on what is going on in Memphis, there was a shooting there making a headlines of course across the country because a couple of different things that are going on here in Memphis. First of all, it was a little a little different in the sense that this guy is driving around Memphis and very dangerous city, of course, as you probably know, and so he's driving around the city of Memphis. And he's just randomly shooting people and he is, of course, live streaming this whole thing on Facebook. And so now you've got this guy, Ezekiel, dewan Kelly. He apparently killed four people, injured another 8, and this was a couple of hours. This was going on. I mean, Memphis was just on lockdown. It was complete insanity. And so this was making very big news and the local authorities saying, whatever you do, don't go outside if you don't have to. There is one video that is out there. And I watched it, and it is horrifying video. But it's something that we've all now come to unfortunately expect, but it really does. It really does bring home. The brutality of this kind of a murder. Where Ezekiel dewine Kelly walks into an AutoZone and just opens fire. And there's a guy who is literally about 8, 9 feet in front of him. Looks like he's getting ready to exit the AutoZone in Memphis. And this Ezekiel walks in Wally's live streaming and he raises his Glock and fires a couple of rounds. Don't know if that's one of the guys, one of the people that was killed or injured. But it's a horrifying, horrifying sight. But it really does bring home the fact that when you are in a situation where you've got to horrible, horrible, dangerous guy like this Ezekiel dewan Kelly walking into a store and just starts firing. I mean, I am all for open carry concealed carry, whatever Carrie. I am vehemently against gun free zones. I am very much a two way supporter. But I've seen these kinds of videos because of some training that I've been through. Don't need to get into the details. When these things happen, you don't have a lot of time to react if you have that gun pointed at you. Now I have seen some amazing videos. Of people that have had just a few seconds to be able to draw, fire, defend. But it also brings home the reality when you see these kinds of videos, the brutality and a lack of appreciation for the sanctity of life. Because that's what these videos clearly show. And this guy was Facebook Live or whatever you want to call it. Live streaming for a couple of hours. And so a lot of this stuff is on video, I'm sure it's out on the Internet and people are watching it and so forth. But I've got to tell you that if you're just joining us, I'm just going to give you a couple of real quick facts about the guy who the police have now arrested Ezekiel to one Kelly. Number one is he should be in jail. Now stop me when you've heard this before and I'm going to make this quick because I did a, I did a whole thing in the previous hour, but I know that people join in this hour and it's a whole thing. So basically, guy was in jail, he was sentenced to three years in jail. He only served 11 months. And so then out he comes, and he commits for murders and injures another, I believe 8. And so when you hear the authorities in Memphis talk about how it is a revolving door. It is a revolving door there in Memphis, and it's the same thing in Chicago and Nashville and all of these other Democrat run cities. The cops know who the bad guys are. The community knows who the bad guys are. But you know what? Because of the soft on crime policies, guys like Kelly, they're just released from prison early. Because the Democrats and their George Soros funded district attorneys and county prosecutors, they are against mass incarceration. It feels like they're against any incarceration. And of course, as we've been talking about the last couple of nights in Memphis, we also have the murder of Eliza Fletcher. The hands of Cleo. This guy was also supposed to be in jail for a total of 20 was a 24 years and they let him out to four plus years early. He should have been in prison. If it wasn't for early release, Eliza Fletcher would still be alive if it wasn't for early release, the victims of Kelly would still be alive as well. This is what's happening across America. Now, in here in Nashville, we have a we have a guy who is a state of Tennessee. I'm in Nashville. We have a guy who is the Speaker of the House of the state of Tennessee. His name is Cameron Sexton. I'm going to play a real quick audio byte for you because I do believe that it is incredibly relevant. And I'm sort of using his soundbite as sort of like a question for you, the listening audience, and I'm going to play the audio by ten asking a question. Again, this is Cameron Sexton, Speaker of the House of Tennessee. We have the soft on crime group. And said, well, just do you think keeping the men in 5 more years would have stopped him from recommitting and say doing real patient program. You can't rehab evil. And these groups think that you can and you can't. And but it would have made a difference in Eliza Fletcher and her family in this instance. If he was still being there for 5 years. And that's the sad part of it. And it happens every single day

"You were one of the first people to speak out about the seriousness and the significance of this moment. We had a tough on crime Republican district attorney, the voters said we don't want that. We want to progressive Democrat in the George Soros style, Steve moroi. Who wants bail reform? Wants to raise the juvenile age, what to 25 years old for crime. What is your message to the district attorney? Yeah, look, my extraordinary circumstances require an extraordinary response. And in the state of Tennessee capital punishment is certainly on the table. And I believe as the details continue to come out, the more and more of the public will understand that we need to send a very clear message that things like this won't be tolerated and that includes seeking the death penalty. I heard you say that earlier and I don't want you to get into graphic details, but I've heard some pretty horrible things. We haven't heard the full story of what happened to Eliza. No, the Memphis police department and their agencies are still investigating the ME's office, obviously, is still conducting their review and examination and I think you're gonna see some more charges coming. I can't say much more than that, but I will say that even without those charges, I think we've approached the litmus test for bringing the death penalty period. You're on the city council of one of the largest cities in America. One of the deadliest cities in America, how do we fix this? How do we make Memphis safe again? Yeah, I think there's a couple ways you have to look at it. You have to look at the near term, right? So when we look at triage, so to speak, there is only one thing that I'm aware of in the data point that when you talk about violent crime and deterrence and that's arrest and convictions, period full stop. You look at New York in the early 1990s through the mid to late 90s. It's a rest and convictions. We'll send down violent crime. And then over the long term, we do have a responsibility to bring back family the nuclear family and support community services and make sure that kids are going to school and that they're literate and have access to economic opportunity. You know, that worked for Rudy Giuliani when he was mayor of New York City faced with a very similar situation, and they started cracking down on the newstone crimes. The broken windows and I know a lot of people get upset about that, but in reality, that actually stopped crime in New York City. Absolutely, look, the truth and sensing wall that's become kind of a divisive issue really is not targeting everybody serving every time that we're talking about very specific violent offenders. Nobody wants to send a kid that's 1718 years old for selling an ounce of weed to jail for 35 years and put them in contact. We want to help find that kid a work release program and get them the counseling and support they need. And so, but we know statistically speaking that these sentences where you're serving aggravated assault, you turn out 15 years and you serve four is not working for us. And we know that the suspect who was in jail now, we know that he had a violent juvenile criminal record before the kidnapping. So my question is, knowing what we knew and what they knew about this guy, why in the world would they let somebody like that out of prison even 24 hours ahead of when he was supposed to be set free? You know, I can't speak for the DOC, but data will data typically in the white papers will tell you that there is a crowning issue. And so that they look for opportunities with percentages of time release for good behavior and whatnot. But it just becomes no one's doing the work to really review these cases and say whether or not these people are quote rehabilitated and I think that's why I'm really have been supportive of the mayor's effort and Cameron Sexton and at the state government of the Speaker of the House for those listening that we have a truth and sensing where for violent offenses you were going to serve a 100% of your prison sentence. And the shocking part of that is even the governor who is a Republican Bill Lee refused to put his signature on that. Yeah, I was very surprised. I understand the governor believes and works in a lot of prison reform groups and in his belief is that, but we're not talking about it. I just want to say this very clearly, we are not talking about somebody that got upset in a parking lot and punched somebody in the face in a dispute over parking. We were talking about aggravated rape, aggravated assault, attempted murder first degree second. We were talking about the worst of the worst serving a 100% of their sentences. If the district attorney and Memphis does not go for the death penalty, what kind of a message does that send? I think it sends a message that we're not willing to we're taking one of the largest deterrents and punishments off the table. And so look at it this way, if he's a negotiator, how do you negotiate for life without the possibility of parole if there's nothing worse on the table?.

The SUVs and the dinner. Hurry into your local Kia dealer today, Kia, movement that inspires. Visit Kia dot com for details always drive safely. All right, hello, America. Can I just say something? You know, we're sort of rough on the conservatives. Well, not really the conservatives, the Republicans. And I want to give a shout out to a guy. He is in Republican leadership in the state of Tennessee, his name is Cameron Sexton. So let me explain what happened, and I just got this item from our news guy at kwa, a Ben dieter. Great a great journalist, fair and balanced. They don't make them like that these days. So anyway, we just elected a radical George Soros district attorney, and this guy, he says he's not going to be prosecuting crimes. He's going to be taking care of defending the criminals. His name is professor Steve mulroy. And anyway, mister Sexton, who is with the Tennessee state House. Is he what is he of the Speaker of the House he's the Speaker of the House? Thank you very much, mister dieter. So you got the Speaker of the House and this, well, what are you going to do with this guy? Refuses to prosecute crimes. What are you going to do? And the guy says, hey, look, he's either going to prosecute the criminals or he's going to go right his butt's going to be back in the classroom. So they're going to play hardball with this guy. I suspect that mere moments after he starts his job the re competitions are going to start, much like they did in San Francisco. So there you go for that. 8 four four 747 88 68. That's our telephone number. I would love to ask grace baker. You know what? We're going to hold this story because I'm trying to figure out why straight women like to spend their bachelorette parties at the gay bars. That's apparently a thing. And it is a big thing. And there's a story in the blaze dot com about this, and we're going to talk to grace about this. She just got married. So she kind of knows about these kinds of things. But in the meantime, I already go to the patriot mobile newsmaker line. It's an awkward transition. What can I say it happens? Our good friend, the great American patriot from Ohio, congressman Jim Jordan joins us congressman thanks for coming on the program. Well, ty, good to do with you again. So look, I don't know about you. I'm kind of concerned about the feds just picking up Trump supporters and especially those of us in the media. I travel around with a small toothbrush and some toothpaste just in case my butt gets thrown into a federal lockup. No, we said half jokingly, but it's really frightening. When you think about what we've seen and just I said this to the day, but last fall, it was we learned that the Justice Department using the Patriot Act against parents, a few nights ago, we had the Senate pass legislation that's going to unleash 87,000 IRS agents on Americans, harass them about their taxes and then of course it's what happened to the private residents of the former president of the United States and likely Republican candidate for president in the upcoming presidential race. And then, of course, it's followed up by taking the phone of a sitting member of Congress, a former retired army general. So this is scary stuff and yeah, who's next is probably the right question to ask and it's scary to think about. It is congressman, but you were warning us about this all along and I know that you guys got a lot of blowback in the media, but we are in a really unprecedented time in American history, what concerns do you have now that we know, for example, congressman Scott Perry, the chairman of the House freedom caucus, got stopped while on vacation with his family? On vacation with his wife and two daughters, wonderful family, retired army general, served in the Congress, freedom caucus chair, and they come up and take his phone. And look, I don't think I don't know why they took his phone, but that they shouldn't have. It seems to me, and then but Scott even said in his statement, you tell me you want it, we'll turn it over for we think it's wrong, but we'll turn it over, but to come just with a warrant and take it from me while he's on the it just makes no sense. And when you view it in context, remember, we already know. We already know they're willing to alter evidence. Kevin Klein Smith was a lawyer in the Justice Department who altered an email all sorted evidence that was taken to the fisa court when they started this whole this whole thing going after president Trump. So we already have clients. He got like a little slap on the wrist. I mean, they've already proven they're willing to change evidence to go after their political opposition. We've caught the January 6th committee on 8 different false statements they have made and we don't get to see the transcripts. We don't get to be in the depositions. We don't get to see the documents, and we've caught them in 8 lies. Imagine how many other false things they're telling.

"Just basically in the middle of a community that's been carved up. In fact, Nashville has had the same congressman for two decades. Jim Cooper, a moderate Democrat who had survived previous redistricting battles. We've been a state capital that spoke for itself for at least 230 years. We've been democratic for longer than anybody can count. At least a hundred years. So in January, after maps were approved, Cooper had had enough. He called it quits. I know how politics works have run probably more than any living politician, and when they stack the deck against you, you're wasting your time. And Democrats argue Nashville could have been kept whole. Each congressional district in Tennessee needs to have about 767,000 people. Nashville has 715,000, meaning lawmakers could have just added one extra midsize city instead of splitting it in three. But Republicans have defended their maps, saying they followed the law. Tennessee House speaker Cameron Sexton says he thinks the split will help, not hurt Nashville. Well, I think, you know, David single gained more representation. He never hurts to have more people and Washington fighting for you. But Nashville native Odessa Kelly worries that whoever is elected won't be fighting for her. She's black and gay, and she says these maps will weaken the power of black and brown voters. There is no Republican that can accurately represent me, my values and my morals and my thoughts. There's none. There's zero, right? And what they did is tried to dilute that. Kelly is running as a Democrat in the redesigned district 7. The one across the railroad tracks from Krispy Kreme that's probably her best chance. According to census data, out of those three newly drawn districts, it has the highest percentage of black voters. I'm not going to lay down and take this and neither should anyone else who believes in the fundamental ideas of America where everyone has a right to their voice. It has a right to be heard because that's essentially what they took away. But it will be an uphill battle. She'll be facing Republican incumbent Mark green, who is running for his third term. And if the Republicans master plan goes their way this November, they'll control 8 out of the 9 U.S. House seats in Tennessee, helping the GOP in their push to take back

"At each other. And I have to imagine a lot of this for some of these kids, this is an introduction. You know, they're going there to see what's going on. I'm curious though over the time you and Michael have been out there. Have you heard from any of these students who may have had a change of thought on some of the big political issues of the day? So we certainly had students who came up and said, you know, I used to be on the left and I agree with you now. We have not had direct feedback from anyone who said gosh, just watching this tonight changed my mind. But I'll say, if you looked at the gathering that showed up at Yale, I think just about everyone watching expected to see some unpleasant and angry protests. Yale law school just recently had a speaker Kristen Wagner wagoner from the alliance defending freedom talking about religious liberty and the leftists there screamed her down, tried to shut down the event. And for whatever reason, they didn't try to do that with us. I don't know if it was a decision on the front end or it may well have been that they came intending to do that and they were surprised to find that we were not mean we were not unpleasant. We were talking about substantive issues we're talking about free speech and the constitution and they may never have heard that before for whatever reason that they didn't lose their minds and start screaming. And so I'm glad of that. All right, good stuff. Senator, we're going to leave it there. I appreciate the great work y'all are doing, exposing what's happening down there on that border. Crucial issue as we move forward in this country, especially with title 42 going away. That is absolutely right. We need to have complete a transparency. We need to have a focus on the substance and the failures. And I will say the enormous irony that hypocrisy of the Biden administration in the very same week saying they're going to extend the mask mandate on planes, but they're going to cancel title 42. So if you get on an airplane, you got to go through the political theater of wearing a mask, but they're perfectly happy letting in millions of illegal immigrants, many of whom may have COVID, not testing them, not vaccinating them. It is the height of hypocrisy and it is exactly where the Biden White House and the Senate Democrats are right now. All right, senator Ted Cruz, by the way, senator the next time you're in Memphis, we got to take you down to old Dominic's. They do the Tennessee sipping whisky. They've got a little cigar place up on the rooftop overlooking the Mississippi River. It's a great place to chill out. Well, as they say, the movie Jerry Maguire, you had me at hello. All right, senator, oh, he's good having you on the show. Senator Ted Cruz, everybody. All right, 8 four four 747 88 68 that's our toll free telephone number that's 8 four four 747 88 68 will be right back. All right, Tim van horn, who hosts the morning show at kwa have heard us talking about this rugby story. You know, he's a big soccer guy. I don't just does van horn play rugby. He's getting a little up there. You know, it was easy 50. Yeah, I probably shouldn't be playing rugby. Dodge can't say anything. Younger than you. Well, I shouldn't be playing rugby even. I'm just saying. Rugby's like a football. Don't worry about breaking bones and stuff. Yeah, rugby's no joke. So the story is that the high school, so this is funny. The TV station is in Guam, and Guam high school. So Guam high school has a dude who thinks he's a girl, and he's playing on the girls rugby team, and so they played another school and three biological girls got injured. He basically beat the 11 daylights out of him. So Tim van horn as the resident expert when it comes to soccer and rugby says Todd and women's rugby, there's only supposed to be one ball and one ball only on the field at all times. Oh my gosh. So technically there would be three balls. You had to go there. By the way, I don't know, I don't know if this is a good thing or not, but there is an Easter egg hunt, and actually there's a pretty cool thing. It's just the name of the event that's a little off. So, you know, you have Easter eggs coming up Sunday and we would go over to grandma starnes house after church, and we had had Easter egg hunt. Yeah. Do you do the plastic eggs with the candies inside? Oh yeah. Oh, that's fun. I love that. And anyway, they're doing that though with children who are blind and visually impaired. Yes. Which is a great thing, but the problem is, if you're a blind kid, how do you find the Easter eggs? It's a legitimate question. And problem. So they're doing this thing in Memphis, where they're going to have these little devices that actually beep, so you can actually track down the eggs. It is incredibly clever, right? Yes. Kind of like Marco Polo. So here's my goal. BP is but here's the name of the group. The name of the event is called the beeping egg hunt explosion. Sounds like it's saying bleeping. Censorship. No, it's the explosion part. I've got a problem with it. Your blind kid, you're trying to find the beeping egg, and they're like, mommy, mommy, I found that and I was like, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. And then the next thing you know, you got Hershey kiss all over your face, or the Cadbury egg. That could be bad. All right, welcome back to the Todd stern's radio show. Good to have you with us. 8 four four 747 88 68 is our telephone number. I want to go back to these two pieces of legislation. I don't mean to be Tennessee centric today, but this is a lesson for all of you because this is happening in your communities as well. I can promise you that. So we've got Republican controlled statehouse here in Tennessee. So the Republicans literally control everything. Two big stories you need to know about because this will be happening in your state legislature. So pay attention here. The Tennessee General Assembly is preparing legislation that would allow illegal immigrants to acquire commercial and professional licenses. The bill narrowly passed in the House of Representatives 56 to 35 with 35 Republicans joining 21 Democrats and three Republicans president and not voting. The bill sponsor, by the way, a guy by the name of Bill Freeman, who's a Democrat. The state Senate companion bill sponsored by state senator Shane Reeves of Murfreesboro. And that will be introduced for a vote by the full state Senate today. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Then you've got another story, and this is even more disgusting. A new bill would censor conservative groups 60 days before elections. This is from the Tennessee star an obscure caption Bill slipped in by speaker Cameron Sexton seeks to censor conservatives groups 60 days prior to an election. The leaked 15 page amendment has all sorts of crazies that we're going to post a link to this story. In the live show block. Americans for prosperity, Tennessee firearms association, Tennessee right to life, Tennessee stands, and other patriot groups may soon find themselves unable to even mention the names or show the faces of an elected official or candidate days before an election, or they could face tough penalties..
