"But like as a chef, you're only kind of the CAS good as the ingredients that you provided. You know what? I mean. We didn't have a lot of defensive ingredients and we just we weren't ever going to be defensive Juggernaut but Mike would go back to the table and like let's say we were. Covering the turn on a pick and roll meaning like I'm going to get over and the big GonNa drop back and he's GonNa hold his ground until I get back in the play and that was getting US torch like Mike had no problem like blitzen it or or door what we had to do we just didn't have the personnel to switch. and. Do those kind of creative things. So you know it's fair but Mike. Defense less he talks about deep. In. Lawson, this right is there probably not rockets have not been a good regular season defensive team they did six in eighteen, twenty, seventeen, eighteen season but other than that. They just they haven't been a great regular season defensive team however in Oppo seasons especially when they go against the warriors you know in the last couple of years that heavy switches be. Done gave the warriors problems gave the words fits because they were a mirror image of that You know guys like, PJ Tucker who were long is not necessarily tall but long guys who can switch the pick and roll and can get big off the floor right and for a team that doesn't if you're a team that doesn't embrace the mid range. The rockets could be a tough out for you especially defensively. Yeah. Looked PJ IS THE PJ is the Is the. Engine. That makes that defensive key is the one without pge aid none of that works because you don't have the guy that can out rebound ad at six five like you don't have that and so that's that's the unique piece in the equation defensively they're they're makes that work. The football player that plays at the Ymca I love that he's the guy that is that is boxing you out plan overly physical probably foul you a little bit but you're not going to call it. He's talking Shit. He's hitting a corner three. He's a very skilled football player playing basketball right now. Well, we got a little sauce. He got he got his first pair Koby fives you know what I mean. vs. Pj's a real woman not today, but he is because what he gets asked to do. My job was difficult like I had to go out there and I'd guard you're one, two or three and. Have situations where it'd be like, Hey, man I don't want to guard him mainly you take him and you say that they just say that I thought I thought I thought NBA players, Egos they like I don't know say a Russia a Russia broke get him real quick. Yeah. There are certain situations where guys don't don't want that all the time and that's fine but I rarely had to guard those and I'm six five to like PJ. Has To guard every body and getting lake bandaged presses a lot more than yours though, right? Yeah he's a he's he's he's a body, but it's still a thankless job. It's it's a really like I just referenced my back at forty. Five. You're gonNA feel that in a few years. Bro. What's it like to switch onto a big? As a guard. Helpless. Like at that point because my I didn't have the weight. So what I was trying to bait you into doing was like I try switch early I'd start like wrestling with you around the free throw line. So you know most bigs like are like. You know you ain't fucking stopping me from getting a post. So I'm just GONNA big body you all the way down well after the third bump I'm falling down. So then it pushed arrested, you'll flopper. Yeah but but like I mean if you're just gonNA keep banging into me with two hundred, ninety pounds like at some point I'm falling down like it's too much and I'm GonNa put the referenda spot where he got call it. What was the big where you have Swiss on? You're like, fuck? I mean shack clearly, but I never had to switch on on on shack that much I switch. Okay. I switched onto Cambay Matombo one day in practice with the with we were in Saint Joe's Philly when I got there and he like he turned with one of those elbows like and so at seven, whatever it is like my on. Yeah. So that thing let me up just like blistered can split my eye open and You know at that point. I was like I have no business like I practice was early in the experience I was like Nah get. For we get the blacks and he lou what? What's your prediction on this man I add were I had Lakers in five. About six or seven right now the I think I think Lakers in six I still roll with Lakers and six I think was gets another one and look if if Houston gets high. And they can dissect that it could get dicey. You could go seven but I'm taking thing though the the rockets can get hot as we've seen in the postseason with the rockets can also get historically cold and fumbled a bag. So they gonNA have to prove to meet it. They can win.

We were also talking about your youth, growing up in Nigeria, and then your, your background in soccer, how that helped us a player you were in the vanguard of a number of outstanding players who came to the NBA, who came to the US as college players from Africa. Among them, of course, Manute Bol into Cambay Matombo from Sudan, and from Zaire now, the Congo respectively. Why aren't we seeing more great players from Africa in this year? Where this tremendous. We, we've got guys like Kevin Durant who are seven feet tall and played the way that he does. And we've got so much, of course, three point shooting, which was really just in its infancy when you were coming into league. How much do you recognize the game as it's played now? Do I? You know, for. Does size got ball skills? So that gives them freedom to be able to create and shoot logo. You know, you can drive you can put up post up so small compare. And that's always the way I see the game does we like to play the game to play computer games. You can drive can post. You post you. Kick you outside. So you have something for everybody. You know Kevin on. The delegate. A three point shoes is a million dollars. I've seen guys that would be on a good basket to about three points. So used to. Decision. I would have three. So, you know. In the great shooters into this game. Game is changed so much. Tumelty. The is available doesn't change. Capitalize opponent opposed to guys. Good post game has ever. Great. Is capitalize on? Who do you admire for their post play today? Really post as we should. It's not like when it was you and Shaquille, and, and Patrick, and Robert Parish and Kevin McHale. You know if you if you jump shows. You settle joke show. That's easy because that is difficult to get the ball of the basket and the paint, that's difficult get bang. But if you get pushed out. Joe? But now should junk show of big issue three points compliments? It's still. Pick and choose. Time you can't just like you, you, you are you doing more damage to team, the big bed shooting threes? Getting getting on the change. From fifty dollars compliment. But still. You know, the court suit, she's too big diet. Getting short low three points as a compliment, but first of all, the primary physician paternity. Get a post moves, Dan, because she's outside sponge your speaking with the chemo allies. You on twenty five years ago, led the Houston Rockets to their first NBA title against the New York Knicks in seven games. And you guys won that title, of course, ninety four you would win the next year. Michael Jordan was out of basketball, ninety three ninety four. He came back in ninety four ninety five I guess it was the middle of the season and the magic which killed penny. Hardaway defeated, the bulls in Eastern Conference finals, do you ever wish that you got to play against Michaels bulls in the finals, or, or you happy with the way it went. Replay or Chicago. Okay. You don't have big men don't. David shot. To contemporary. So jordan. The interesting. But we don't position I wasn't dog. I don't. We play them during the season. I know feel comfortable. What do you do? Now, you're you're fifty six now. Is that right? Akeem fifty six you. You've been in the hall of fame for eleven years. You've been out of basketball a player, obviously for a long time now where do you find in your life? Now, the kind of film that you found is a player in basketball. So. Combustible but still, you know watching the game. It's. Business investment, unlike elected. Develop properties build up on, you know, for education in the jury pool. Feeding? Just I feel you know the children. So I feel. Feel fulfilled except when I was about. The guy that just got my knees. Watching the. I out. Game three. Just just on that point. Well, Akeem it's, it's really been a pleasure. But a Susan orlean said, you know, it was so it really was a reflection of their virtues as a family that they weren't in a rush to cash the fully bay champ. Compress Felipe Lopez subsequent years here a little bit John. He had a terrible software year. You didn't have a great junior year either. So there was no opportunity that point for him to to go to the NBA. He would not have been drafted. He. Graduates and the scenes from graduation day in the Dominican dream are really heartfelt and genuine. I mean, there's a genuine pride on the part of his family and on his part for having finished college. Also that senior year Fran for shila becomes the coach of Saint John's Philippa shoot seven hundred and fifty three's day he realizes that. This really is his last chance, or at least that's how it's portrayed to him at age twenty one to make it Saint John's does make it to the tournament the NCAA as they lose in the first round when Lopez misses a jumper at the buzzer. He does get drafted by the Spurs traded to Vancouver. The worst team in the NBA where he doesn't play much. He ends up in Minnesota after going to Washington little bit of an itinerant situation. But then he starts playing really well eighteen points per game. He wrenches his knee and preseason and his NBA careers over he disappears Felipe as story if it ended in high school, it has the great ending of. Sports story if it ends when the injury his NBA career, just as he's on the verge of coming into his own in the NBA and signing a big free agent veterans contract, then it's the classic ending of a sad sports story. But Philippi story doesn't end there. And we went to the DR and spent time with him around Christmas where Felipe Lopez is truly a prince in the greatest sense of the word prince prince of the people you walk around Santiago that Scott Aeros with Philippa, and you are accompanying royalty in and what he does he personally hands out food to needy people. He doesn't hire staff to do that he drives around handing it to these people in the kids follow around Lou carnesecca calls of the pied piper in the film. And that's really what he is. We were there. He served Christmas dinner to twelve hundred. Needy families in the gym of the basketball club where he's the president now and. It's you know, Cambay Matombo who works with him on NBA cares. NBA initiatives calls him, Saint Philippi. And and it's true. I mean in nineteen Ninety-three Susan orlean called him the nicest person she's ever met and Matombo calls him Saint fully bay. And they are they are both. Right. I mean, this man is the most righteous person you're ever going to meet and his family believes in. I believe that had not gone to college for four years and developed as a social person as a human being in those four years, let alone the classroom education, you know..

Oh, I mean, I was telling Dan he imperfect. I he doesn't really jump. He just kind of bunny hops, because he doesn't have to right. But he's also really proportionately built like I don't think I've ever seen anyone who. Looks like that. Yeah. I don't think there's any humans. I mean, the Cambay Matombo obviously, very tall Fellay in relation. But he he's built like an athlete. He looks like he could be explosive. He has but he looks like a guy on a Fisher Price hoop out there. I mean, he's he's standing on his tippy toes, Dunkin basketball's over d one athletes. I think it's an incredible advantage to be seven foot six and a sport where height happens for sure. But let's get back to the media row people acting as if they're curing cancer or doing rocket science or like sports are supposed to have a motion. They shouldn't be looking at you sideways. The way that game ended in the way that game one. There should be a motion. I think you were doing it right to hell with everybody else on that damn row. Well, thank you. Well, I got snitched on earlier in the year win the first Zion game. I went to at Cameron. It was like you gotta see him in person, Pat like it's just an insane. Experienced in a little bit of. A current retired an athlete just retired. We'll talk about a little bit later, but he jumped out for like one of those crazy volleyball blocks with the two hands. And I went. Like it was like an involuntary utterance in somebody snitched on me down there as well. But listen, we're here to talk football mostly now really a little bit. And it shows a little different. Okay. So usually we have section at the end of the show called Dinxin dunks. Where I ask in a sort of questions. Lenny always gets one question, but this show because the football news is a little bit quiet this week. We're going to do a super sized inks and dunks a mix of football in non-football questions. I have written the mall for you, Pat or you ready. Oh, yeah. I'm excited for the Dinka dunk to get you a nice rhythm to get this often flowing into really to move to this podcast, an exquisite fashion thinking dunk all over the internet and that signed for Dink's dunks. I'm getting paid for this, right? All right. I really football. I figured that way. I could not alienate my core audience. So you are using your career with colts. Correct. That is great. Like, simple information. You could looked up on the internet before him, you know. And I know you follow the team closely of her you in on them. So I go to we talked last week with Kirk Morrison about winters losing the free agency. We didn't spend a ton of time on the colts because despite having more money than God, they didn't do a lot. So I want to ask you as a colts enthusiasts colts. Observer close close watcher of the team a local oblique you still live in the area. Or are you happy with their free agency? So that's an interesting question. I saw a lot of people on the internet on the TV's going after Chris Ballard for having all this money in not just being loosey goosey with not just throwing it around and taking shots at big time names and big time players, but Chris Ballard has been very consistent since the beginning whenever he came to town with his other girls from dick and his good good looking hair and a handsome young faith. He had the same themes thing plan. He was going to build the team. From within. He was going to build through the draft and through undrafted free agency. And he always said that he was gonna he wants to be an organization that takes care of their own. So if he wants to take care of his own young players Darius Leonard Quinton Nelson t y Hilton Chester Rogers, the bungee there's a lot of young guys that are in that organization right now, if you want to take care of them, you have to start preparing for that early with your casts, so he was very open about not being a crazy spender in the free agency..

That's number one. Okay. So the kid who I forget who helped him to combine motto. Right. So we heard the story we go or so. Yeah. Dicamba Matombo who's an NBA guy was an MBA guy asked older, dude. Now. Found this kid in Africa who has basically been holed up in his house for years because he was getting two here's a huge tumor on his face. And it goes from his chin up to the side of his head at the templates, pulling his I in his no pushing his mouth and nose one way and pulling his I the other way. It's horrible. And they've certainly the family was in no position to do anything about it. And so this kid who was getting tortured by the other kids because kids do that he was basically being hidden in his house and to Cambay Matombo flew him to the United with the help of other people. Like, you know, there was a foundation involved in this. But he was paying for the kid get having an operation. Here's what's scary about this some happened during the surgery, and as far as I know the kids alive they're being so tight with any details. Like, I've actually the I saw this story a day or two ago. He went into cardiac arrest in the middle of the surgery is little he's an eight year old boy. As they were when they thought it was gonna be about a six hour surgery in they were at between hours four and six I've seen different reports where they were four hours in they were almost at the very end. They were six hours in they had to perform CPR on his little body, and then put him into an ambulance and take him to like an ICU place. In the midst of this whole surgery thing. So I don't know what the kids condition is. Some reports are saying, it's totally unknown. Other reports are saying he has come through and he can move his hands and feet. But no one is saying at what stage the operation was at whether or not the operation was successful. What the status is for this kid at this point. You know, I'm sure they're doing their best. But like, you know, I'm only I'm not involved in this at all. And I I'm dying to hear what is happening with this kid, and I'm sure there's plenty of people also wondering, so I'm giving you the update really they're not releasing a lot of info. Go I do too. I'll tell you what I think though, I if it were me, I won't even talk about a kid, or whatever if it were me, I would want the surgery, even if there were risks because he had no kind of quality of life. No. It was awful. So you try and they pretend they're trying to head coming and they tried and they're trying to hopefully it works out. I would have wanted to surgery. I could barely stand a pimple. And this kid was completely misshapen. Yeah. He's just a regular looking kid. If you're not looking at the giant tumor. Yeah. So hopefully, we'll get some kind of update hopefully things will turn out for this kid because God what a nightmare. Yeah. So anyway in case you were wondering how that story went. It's still going. You know, I so I read that four hours ago. Jozy is there's nothing. Thanks for looking. Okay. Whom jesus. Really short one. This happened yesterday sort of affair in the studio. We saw some pictures of Will Smith is the genie in Aladdin. There's going be live action wrong to me. Yeah. Everyone was saying he doesn't didn't look right right to you. Well, I thought okay. I guess I thought the guy was blue. But all right. Maybe maybe he'll be blue and the movie saying that he is mostly CGI or CG, whatever they call it in the in the movie, and that that is when he is a black man, it's because he's in disguise the genie when he appears to other to mortals, or whatever he's the genie. So I guess there are scenes where he's the genie, but in sort of mortal disguise, so he did say it was intimidating take on the character. Not a lot of room to improve on what Robin Williams dead in the original. There's no room to improve my impertinent have to. I think unfortunately, for Will Smith the same thing happened to me when I saw it. There's Will Smith in the genie clothes, and like there's just no, right? It's making no one happy. I'm not even bombed. I don't have. I only saw the movie just recently because I have a kid, but I just felt like, oh, there's Will Smith. He says, yes, I'm gonna be blue. This is how the genie is in human disguise form. My character will be CG mo- CGI most of the movie. So case, you're all bummed out. Don't worry. He'll be okay. What's coming up? Any? Is it a bird? Well, another guy shack who you wouldn't say necessarily, is that portable actually, you've got him at five own a talk about his defense for it's what did you find about him defensively? Because you know, he is a center. He's gotta be the anchor of your defense. Not a guy recall played on a lot of great defenses. Certainly in the regular season. No, he didn't. It's it's categorically his weakness. I mean, that's the, that's the word was shack. He was one of the few big ever who was a legit, offensive juggernaut on that side. And when you look at his defense, first thing, the jump. Out his pick and roll coverage. He does not like to come out to the perimeter, especially as his career moved on. He's got a lot of poor instincts that he brought into the league. He would bite on up fakes. He was foul prone when he was younger and he didn't have the greatest reaction time. You know, I talked about Garnett earlier as a as a t. cell just bouncing around ready to jump on invaders. Shack is more kind of like a bear and not in the Draymond green nickname sense. Like if he's in the lane and you come at him, he's big, he's long, he'll block shots. He's physical, he'll grab a bunch of boards and that's whereas value comes from, but he's not super mobile. He got lazy at certain points in his career, and I think in many ways there's a relationship between his conditioning, his defensive Zarian and his overall value, which probably prevented him for being in the conversation for greatest player of all time. Yeah, although too was pretty good. I mean, I think people just forget how absolutely unstop. Operable he was during his private end is that there is no way to deal with them and then you know the other team that you couldn't get away with going smog as well. I think actually more teams should've just tried that and just said, hey, you know what? We're not gonna stop this guy anyway. So why don't we just go small and we're except that we're gonna have to double team him and then let's just kick his ass in the other teams didn't really seem to ever try that. It was always like I will. It's throw light Christel Lear Scot Pollard out here because like you know, our primary center is in trouble as opposed to really trying to spread the floor against him and then just accept that you're gonna have to double team. I think that's something that teams should just do more of anyway, like instead of we're going to throw we, we gotta get this guy out here who's gonna be offense of liability because you know, we need someone to guard this guy, but you're double teaming anyway. So why not just guard him with a worst player to begin with if you're going to double team. But anyway, that's inside, but he you do. Do you remember the two thousand one finals? Larry Brown tried that. Remember that? No, I, that was actually a period where I was in college. I kinda wasn't paying as much attention like I don't really remember, and also just be like, I wasn't interested in those final regular. Just knew that the Lakers were going to win the east was so like I remember the Western Conference playoffs from those years much better than I do the finals because I watched the two thousand finals that was actually competitive. But from o-on NO two were just anew there massacres at other stuff to do that. Definitely. There should be. There should be a governing internet body somewhere that gives you points for admitting you didn't watch basketball closely during a period. That's thing. That's gotta be thing anyway. The point I was going to make their was Larry Brown tried. I never forgot it and you can still find the. I went looked at how long he played the the lineup for at some point. He ran to Cambay Matombo with four wings for like eight. I think it was eighteen minutes in the first two games in l. a. so he had yet Iverson. Raja bell, Aaron, Mckee, and Eric snow, and they ran this college style lineup at the time. That's what it was kind of looked at as a and they broke even for those eighteen minutes. I don't know how many minutes shack was on the bench for, but I kind of had the same idea like you are in over your head against this guy..

"But yeah, you can tune in for the final thirty seconds of a game. If you want that's where all the job. What happens if it goes to overtime? Can you check on overtime, please? That's probably extra money. Yeah. I don't know if I just hey, you get into the fourth quarter, and you don't get overtime. But isn't that also like saying, we all know you can't sit through a whole game. Nothing really Madison fourth quarter when it's seventy six seventy two to three quarters. And now, you can watch the only quarter that really matters. But is the NBA approaching this the right way and saying we're looking at this the obvious part of this is yeah, maybe you're not going to sit through a whole game. Is there a way to get you to buy in literally for something that you might not watch. I if I get a dollar ninety nine out of you, and as opposed to not getting anything, and how many people sign up for it. Maybe you got something here. Maybe you get the fourth quarter of every NBA game Yemen club. Okay. Okay. The NBA being lauded as smart for this everybody if the NFL did this. They would be the greediest corporation, and they are well, yeah. That's true. It's yeah. They don't have to do this to be that. But legalized NBA MBA always goes criticism free. This could be perceived as greedy. I mean, it seems like a lot of money to get from somebody for a quarter of basketball. But it could also be hey, you know, what we understand the marketplace. And we're going to give you this opportunity here. How many NFL fans would sign up for the fourth quarter of just at that? That's all you got was the fourth quarter of an NFL game. You know what I would pay for from three forty five to four fifteen on the red zone. That is goal. Yes. I would do that. Again, have reduced the race zone for the first three quarters. And then I would go fourth quarter with the game that I wanted yesterday. But are they getting cute and negotiating prices? If it's a big market team that's involved or LeBron is involved with is a game that has playoff implications than a dollar ninety nine is all of a sudden to forty nine or three twelve who knows who knows if is going to stay. Yeah. But I think you're just itemizing. Now, it feels like that. That's what we're trying to do for the sports fan. You know, you're you're trying to at least it feels that way. All right. Goes see if somebody invests in it. I don't know. But but the NBA tries. The NFL should do this. Let's say you don't have the NFL package, and you're you can't watch your team and all sudden you're bears fan and you don't expect to win against the Packers. But you could buy the second half of the game for five bucks streaming. Because all of a sudden the bears are in it. I think the NFL would do way better than the basketball basketball, teams, always go back and forth. But let's say you're a fan of a team stinks. If you're a bills fan and you're playing the Viking, right? Well that the donkey not watching that. Or it's not available where I'm at. Oh, we've got a lead going into halftime. I'll pay five bucks to watch the second half against the Vikings because we're actually winning this killing the NBA NFL NFL fan who has a favorite team is going to watch their team. But if I didn't have a favorite team, and I couldn't get my game. And I could do the red zone and then couple that with the fourth quarter of of my my team. I do that. I could see signing up for that. I also saw the story with the NBA that Kevin Durant says he thinks he thinks it's pure hate that people won't consider him for the defensive player of the year. I mean hate might be just a little too strong of a word here. Now, he might be too good of an offensive player to be considered a great defensive player, although Jordan averaged thirty five one year and one defensive player of the year. But a lot of times we give it to the guy who's not a good offensive player. Ben Wallace somehow wanted four times to Cambay Matombo one. But with Kevin Durant Durant to his credit has become a very good defender. He has. But I don't think it's pure. I don't know if you go the voters go I just hate the thought of Kevin Durant as defensive player of the year. Yeah. I feel bad for Kevin Durant. I hope something goes well for him in his life because it just feels like it's him against the rest of the world. It's pure hate. Just hate me. But is he just saying it as not, you know, pure hate as in the most, you know, satanic form of hatred, but maybe more just like in the hater aid. Meaning he's gotta stop unless he's saying, you know, proved me wrong. You know, let me see if you vote for me, if not it's pure hate. Yeah. Fritzy, can you at least get a player of the week award. Like, Tom Brady's hate Brady. Can't get patriot player of the week and Durant trying to get defensive player of the year. But I don't think it's pure hate seems like it's a little like just a tad strong for these voters. Would you consider Kevin Durant defensive player of the year? Nope. I hate that. No way. His own teammate. He's got he's got two players who are better defenders than him on his own team. Right klay. Thompson is a better defender than Kevin Durant. Durant blocked shots. But you talk about a great two way player. Klay Thompson, Draymond green is a good defender as well. I just think that he's on a team where his talents. Can be margin marginalized a little bit. He's just a great offensive player. Oh, by the way, please pretty good defense re blocks a lot more shots than I thought. Final hour coming up. We'll check in with notable gave from Paris with the Ryder Cup and Rebecca Lobo.

"Rookies Hernandez comes into score and the giants have wanted five to four and Madison Bumgarner is the guy who knocks in the winning run. So John Miller and can be Oreo also heard from my crew co NBC sports bay area. So Madison Bumgarner gets the game winning pinch, hit single, and as white Kuyper described on the television broadcast. The question was, is he gonna let anybody dump anything on him. Here's Madison Bumgarner guy, wrestles horses, and oxen and all those things, and it's his teammates. I don't know if you get a chance to see this team mates are running out there. It's clear. He intends to fend them off like he's there's no ice bucket challenge for Madison Bumgarner Pence actually wraps his arms around him, and someone comes up with an iceberg. At a care member who was and he's gonna dump it on Bumgarner and Bumgarner rejected like to Cambay Matombo like shoves his side. He wasn't gonna let that happen. Classic Madison, Bumgarner Carl totally classic Madison. Bumgarner it'd be like it went belts Ray. It's a walk off hit, you know, do you go rub his head or not, and you basically running high because that's not going to that's not going to go over. Well, there there were certain buttons. You don't push on certain players, belts rates at garner in general when he puts up that radioactive field around him, I wouldn't mess with it, but it does go back to the bigger point that the giants you, you kidding me that would they like anything more than to prevent the dodgers from winning the National League and they have them in the last three games in San Francisco, automatic, we got something to play for fans would be out, should be fantastic and Bumgarner will figure in that series in a big way. No doubt about it yet. Hail pitching also have his spikes on getting ready to pinch it anytime leads it look what one thing that I always feel like. We miss at the end of these long, regular seasons. Girls, we, we see distinguished careers, perhaps come to an end and we don't really know it. Adrian bell trae could be the end of his career with the Texas Rangers hundred pets who's been such a great professional, perhaps coming to the end of his time with giants will don't know if he's going to play in two thousand nineteen. There's Madison Bumgarner about hunter Pence in the post game interview. He did with NBC sports bay, airy about hundred, hit a great night night. The future for him as a giant is undetermined. What can you share with fans about what he's meant to this ball club? In good teammates, but he's he's, you know, he's up there at the top. You know, you could say he's the best one I've had. Like I said, there's been some good ones. I mean, his is pretty special that I got the play most of my career with him and and just thankful for that. So Madison Bumgarner Sani little motion talking about a great professional hunter Pence, Carl. I think it's interesting having worked with so many former managers and players over the last twenty years on baseball tonight how how they single out players that you wouldn't necessarily think of, you know, come to mind usually think of the superstars guy. They contributed like and Bumgarner may say the same thing or will say the same thing about BUSTER Posey, but you tend to think about, wow, you you played with Albert kudos, you played with Aaron, judge you played with whoever it might be best player on your team..

"Houston police department Houston fire department we've got I got finalize we've got because I've got a, bunch of them out there I know Mark Harmon one of. Our constables there several constables and I'm not sure, if Conroe PD is in yet but I know, there was a conversation being held with them fort bend county sheriff's department is. Hiring Houston Rockets unclear if, you get any. Floor time or not you might. Have to clean. The aisles and take. Tickets and stuff like that But one of. The benefits like if we're way up on, somebody it. Maybe they let you come in that was always, my thing, you know, I'm not asking, my hamstring, is hurt me, right now so I I would have to kind of cherry. Pick I can't run, both ends of the floor but I just I don't see why they can't let that would, be a crowd pleaser let me come in like fifteen seconds. Left I'm not going down to play defense because, Miami, will not I'm still in a very much, a slow rebuilding process I don't want to talk a lot about it but Anyway so I just I'd be the. Guy because everybody is saying that guy the, guy who. Doesn't play defense and in the minute hardened gets, like Down here Come. Wide open, of course you're wattle meeting come play defense Oh they, already have Carmelo Anthony that's true Are you saying that Melo is playing the role that I could have had? You, said I could have been. That role He plays low post though I I can't I I can't I'm not I don't wanna be overly modest here but I don't see myself posted anybody up in the. NBA Spud. Webb with Spud Webb would go to Cambay Matombo on, me I don't, I don't like my. Chances and gallery furniture gallery. Furniture, hiring ten. People and there. Are sponsor Man you know what I. Think I think that MAC would be, one of the toughest bosses you could work for but a year working for him we taste something you could pretty much do. Anything because. One thing about MAC MAC is not a young man, and he's getting, to the office everyday He's standing behind the counter he is greeting customers he's barking out. Motivational speeches he's writing stuff out. Have you ever watched. Him work it is something to behold. He he he gets these big. Like poster boards and he gets a black sharpie and he'll right out you know the, the motivational speech for the day. And he gives. It to these employ his. Folks it's like a multilevel marketing operation his folks are motivated there are phrases all, around the building it's not just, a furniture store there are phrases all around the building about how work is, divine and work is good and I'm gonna tell you something it's true You sap especially. A man you sap. A grown man 's ability to provide. For his family you take his. Dignity away you take his honor you take his sense of accomplishment man it it's like, a lobotomy you you change that. Man's mindset In reverse you. Give a man an opportunity. To provide to Bill. Did you see this story Ramona's. Last week, I don't think I can. Pull it up in time This this girl wanted a address for the prom And her dad worked. An, extra job or extra hours at his, job I I can't remember which one it was but he bought his daughter the dress and she had no idea that this is going to happen and the reaction and you could. Tell he was so proud that he was able he had made a sacrifice for his. Daughter so that she would have a, prom dress I'll. Play that in the next. Segment that right there that's. What it's all about that's what it's all about young men that are going to prison because their idea of how to get some money or a car or drugs or anything else is to stick a. Gun in somebody's face and take what they have if, somebody could have taught them from. An early age,.

"Two one pitch? It is hitting? All the right. Field line that's gonna hook is it fair is it foul it is gone it's a homerun extension inside the foul pole on a line Carlos Gonzalez just inside the poll for a two run home run Sexto water Rockies Rockies Arado on the. Call the rocks. Bounce back in? A big way? Six three they. Defeat the Saint Louis cardinals couple of the best things about last night had nothing to do with hitting although cargo went deep Charlie Blackmon Wendy I still need to get that sounder. Back on the hot keys, over, there The best, thing were the best two. Things last night we're pitching related wine John gray rolling along as per usual fifth incomes gives up an infield hit all John gray would. Have imploded because all John gray, does not like, unexpected things happening to him he. Could deal with the home run a walk a, double or something like. That but if it's. Some fluky like an air dropped third strike infield hits he tends. To spiral he gave up. A walk still on, kind then, old habits thing, then Tom Murphy comes, out they have a discussion John. Gray very next hitter gets a ground ball double play out of the enemy Magnify from John gray that, is hope that he. Has really put his. Pass woes behind him that he was able to navigate that second. Time through the order gone. A little extra time, now things, went a little, bit sideways for John, gray late but like Tyler Anderson You know guys run out of gas or guys lose their control a little bit but black makes the change. In who does he go to oh he goes to song, oh not Scott Oberg Sung gets a sacked fly then Tom Murphy? Throws, into left field not. Sung, one os fault Ends up getting the Rockies. Out of the ending with the lead, intact which Scott over could not do the day prior if only A Kind of popular sports talk show host in southern Colorado would have suggested they go to someone at all times in the seventh inning things could have been avoided. Anyway so Rockies. Win cow Freeland gets the nod. Tonight six. Fifteen I believe that game gets going. Story number, two It looks great guys are working hard and making plays out here looks great that you guys I'm sure but. We get it. It's it's a long road winning. Football games. So we are being very humble with. This thing More humble than Cambay Matombo falling into a pot of Gumbo Vance, Joseph earlier, today up at dove. Valley saying we all may read into things. They are not reiterating they are not keeping score And I do believe that I understand his point And what he's trying to get, at grant, Mitch I think put it well earlier you said Their grading they are keeping score they're just doing any different way than we. Are, maybe they're more macro and, wear, more micro We're maybe we're a little too reactionary Certainly we could say that the coaching staff is judging what the process leading up to. A play rather than the play itself But the Broncos make no mistake about the coaching staff is keeping score But it's a it's a sentiment that you like to hear and. I do, believe that there is a different tenor at this Broncos camp he they it's easy for. Them to be humble, when they have, been humbled in a big way the last two seasons especially last year There's no reason why this, I saw the, comments yesterday Emmanuel Sanders said the goal is. A Super Bowl that's fine everybody's goal is a Super Bowl expectation goals are. Two different, things the Broncos are nowhere close to Super Bowl contending team so should they be overly. They could be excited, about this season Lofty expectations. High hopes all this kind of. Stuff. No they shouldn't have they. Should be humble they should just go out and do. Their job and not talk? About what can be accomplished this season That's the right tenor. To, have and it's. Good to know that. The Broncos have it by the way off day tomorrow two days in pads and they're already taking off What's up. With that story number three two thousand fifteen I. Got a text late last night that something happened in two thousand fifteen and there was nothing unless once again there's nothing, I don't know who. Creates a story like that Very six seat, if I'm gonna make fun of urban, Meyer the. Least I could do is say my words properly Very secede answer from urban Meyer sounds like a guy that has nothing to hide right well kinda. Wrong this thing has spiraled in just the, time we've been on air just to catch you up Urban Meyer had a. Wide. Receivers coach say recently. Put on the fire put on leave at this point it doesn't matter usually fired him okay so he fired him whatever the point he fired him in, two thousand eighteen yeah in two thousand fifteen according, to Brett mcmurphy urban Meyer knew, that that wide receivers coach was abusing his wife and had been, abusing, his wife for six years because. She said I believe she said in her stadium, interview? Today, starting in. Two thousand and nine and it took her to twenty fifteen to tell urban Meyer's wife Shelly I mean six, months is too long to deal with domestic violence let alone, six, years But at any rate whether it happened twice. Or it? Happened for, six years the point is that this woman told urban. Meyer's wife what happened And it was on in her, opinion it was on urban Meyer wife Shelly to tell. Urban Meyer She could not confirm that. Urban Meyer was ever told during, that time by Shelley Mayer About that but more text messages obtained by Brett mcmurphy after that. Time prove or at least they believe they prove that urban Meyer did know about it Ohio State within the last hour has placed urban Meyer on administrative leave while they investigate Urban Meyer will not be, the head coach of the buckeyes when they, take the field against, whoever states on September whatever he will not be their head coach he will be fired and we're in kind of this weird Transitional period when it comes. To the way we, look at domestic violence in this country Unfortunately like on many issues we don't always see The light, until? Later it takes us a while we're humans right. We have to evolve fortunately, or unfortunately on this, we're in this weird Part where powerful. Men still do nothing When a when a, vulnerable woman comes to them for help they have the power. To do something and they do nothing and what is the reason for it Because it would. Be too big of a complication it'll be too much of. A hassle it would mess with days But we're also on the. Good, side of things now where we don't put up with. It anymore we don't make excuses unless you're deaf Lou now we don't. Make excuses for men who beat their. Wives they go the CEA And also the great thing about twenty eighteen is that were also. A time where anybody who covers for these. Despicable human beings they go out to case in point urban. Meyer great. Football coach Actually quite a big, fan of his This has no justification it would have been no skin. Off of urban Meyer's back to fire this guy When he found out. About it Urban Meyer would be looked, at as perhaps not a hero but somebody who did the right thing, and would be celebrated and applauded and. All doing is the right thing but that was too. Hard that it, was too messy so urban Meyer let this SOB stay, on his coaching staff for years and now he's. Just getting around to fire him urban Meyer. Deserves to be fired for this I'm not saying he'd never deserves to be a head coach in college football ever again But. I'm saying he deserves to lose his job because he. Covered for someone, who does not deserve to be covered for and he, had full capacity to help this woman out any. Did not and for that he deserves to. Lose his job and it appears that he will two eight six zero zero four six Coming, up, next We'll get into this discussion. With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar he says that the idea of a goat Is the. Same as the. Idea of a unicorn. It doesn't exist.
