"Be right back with a little bit more in the Lions receiver and manra saint Brown says his team has the best offense in the NFL. Here why Lewis agrees and he's ready to call Detroit Super Bowl contenders. Don't miss it. More NFL live on ESPN after this. The NFL Draft is 9 days away, April 27th, 28th and 29th, we'll have every pick once again on ESPN. It's also available on the NFL network NFL live will be there. Both Friday, Thursday and Friday, two hour specials. Don't miss us three to 5. ABC's coverage is focuses on the prospect's journey to the draft all three days also live on ESPN deportes. ESPN radio and the ESPN app and a lot will revolve around Bryce young who could go number one overall. He spent some time with Ryan Clark and the guys on the pivot podcast. They act like you are damn Lord of the Rings hobbit or something. Great and high school has been trophy when it has that always been there because the league will go find some knock you and take some money from you now. Has it always been that you always have you always been questioned about yourself? For sure. For sure. I couldn't remember it time I wasn't. I've always been respected to the people around me. I've always been this height. I've always been shorter. I've always been smaller, and I think a lot of people always say like, man, you must be sick of this. This draft process, people talking about your size. Like, I'm 21. I've been dealing with this. My whole life. This is not new at all. He said, Abbott. Okay, check out Bryce young's appearance on the pivot. It's excellent stuff. And a lot of great insight into who he is as a player. And you saw a little bit of it there. He doesn't care what people say, he's small. Let's continue with the draft buds because it's buzzing, Matt Miller. And beginning with Bryce young, who says he's done visiting teams. Go ahead, Matt. Yellow Bryce young has let it be known. He has done visiting teams after spending time with the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans. Those two teams have the first two picks in the NFL Draft. Of course, and everything you hear around the league, the Carolina Panthers can say they don't know who the pick is going to be. They could say they haven't communicated to Bryce young. Bryce young knows he's going to be the first pick when next Thursday gets here, which is why he can shut down the frequent flyer miles and stay home for the next 9 days and get ready to be the first pick in Kansas City. Now another quarterback who is bragging up those miles is hinden a hooker who had a surprise and kind of interesting visit with the New York Giants who just signed Daniel Jones. They're starting quarterback to an extension. This one is one with talking to people around the league to see you have to do your details just in case a player falls. There's also I think that sneaky suspicion. Daniel Jones just had his best career year. Can he duplicate that in 2024? And finally, Jalen Carter, one of the biggest names in this entire pre draft process. He's visiting the Atlanta Falcons today close to his recent Athens, Georgia. Carter has met with teams at 5 6 7 8 9 and ten in the first round and there is a strong belief around the league. He will not slip past the Chicago Bears at number 9 overall. Team that was really slotted to take him at number one overall when they had that first pick. So Jalen Carter feels comfortable. He's going to be hearing his name called very early next Thursday night. Yeah, interesting for Chicago Matt to your point. They can still get him and that's probably who they wanted anyway. The Lions were one of those teams in the top ten that Carter has visited with as well. And they have four selections in the top 55 fifths in this year's draft. Here's a look at who Mel kiper junior and Todd mcshay had them taking in the first two rounds of their latest GM mock draft. In the first round, it's all about defensive line, which Detroit selecting Tyree Wilson and collegiate can see. Second round, they had the lions adding running back to mere Gibbs. I love it. Linebacker drew Sanders some great pickups. All those pieces just might set this team up for even more success. And amanra saint Brown says they're already holding themselves to high standards. Here's more on that, specifically about their offense. He said quote, we had a pretty decent offense last year. Obviously you want to be number one in every category. So I think that's what we're striving for as an offense. I think that's everyone's goal and offense because we know we can do it. Whatever we gotta do to be number one and all those categories, that's what we're going to do. Well, Jared Goff, chimed in, Temperance and expectations a little bit, saying, quote, I don't believe there are any favorites to win anything in April, but what do I know? A lot can change from now until August or whatever. We like what we've done in the off season in last year, but plenty of stuff to get better and work on two sides of the coin there, but either way, we agree that hope should be high for the Lions. A lot of us on this show feel like they're going to be a force to be reckoned with next season. Louis, where do you rank the lions in the NFC north? I think they're easily the favorites to win in the division Lara. I think on offense, look the addition to David Montgomery to go along with the Andre swift is huge. I think now that Jameson Williams will be healthy for an entire season, I think that is huge on the outside on the perimeter. I think defensively, they really address some things, especially in the secondary with the signing of guys like Emmanuel Moseley and then CJ Gardner Johnson. They just need to get some pass rush help to go along with Aidan Hutchinson and I can tell you this. This team is primed and ready to roll. They finished the season 8 and ten last year. Their defense played great down to stretch and Jared Goff was on fire. This team's going to be a problem in 2023 all the way to maybe the NFC championship game. They finished on a roll last year. It felt like they were a team that nobody wanted to run into. And they'll take that next step no matter what. Matt, we saw what Todd and melded in their GM mock that just debuted. What are you hearing about the lions and their draft options with those four picks? Yeah, that was a fantastic haul that the guys put together for the lines. They need Detroit fans to be very happy. One thing I'm here consistently and I think Louis mentioned it here is cornerback help is still needed. They traded away Jeff akuta who has been injured often in his career, but he was coming off a career year, even with cam Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley coming in. There's a belief that they would like to find a young number one corner that could be Devin weatherspoon from Illinois who had a fantastic season last year. And then I think you have to go to the pass rush. James Houston, a 6th term pick, had great production last year. We know how great Aiden Hutchinson is. I'm not just doing this for Lewis Riddick, who was a great pit panther himself, but Kalashnikov would be fantastic in this defense with his first time quickness with the pass rush ability. I don't know how 5 offensive linemen could block what they could do with Hutchinson, can't see in Houston. That is a lot of speed at three premier positions. So that would be, I think the ideal situation talking to those people around the league about how Detroit can pull ahead in the NFC north. But what if you could get Jalen Carter at 6 and can't see it, 18? Like, you think about this team, right? And we think about the Detroit Lance, physicality, they bring they bring lunch pails to work and those are the type of guys that they want to put on this football team. I played football with Dan Campbell. He was a tight end. He is hard knows and about the line of scrimmage. I'm telling y'all right now. If Jalen caught up a little bit at number 6, that damn card would burn up from me trying to take it up there to the commissioner to put it on the boy. Especially with what I drafted in 800 last year and the year he put together and the impact that these type of three techniques are having on championship football teams and defenses in general, there is no doubt in my mind if it was me and Jalen Carter was sitting there with all of the things figured out from a legal standpoint with them already. That'll be the card I'm running up there with and pray to God that can't see us there at 18. Because now I got a defensive line, like I saw the Philadelphia Eagles with with 70 sex last year that I could really put out there and know that I can dominate games in that regard. As you've told us, interior D line, that's where it's at. Those are going to be some of the game changers with where the game is at right now in the NFL. And listen, swagger can hustle. So that card would be burning up, but you got to watch him come with some ground, man. He's

"Coming back, Nina, what do you got? Is it time? Yeah, let's do it. No, I'm gonna do a football. I don't care. I don't care. Mine is sort of damn, I'm deciding between two. Okay. Minus sort of tangentially related to he who we are not naming thus far. The Detroit Lions, man. That's my next one. Great one. Everybody, myself included, loving what they're doing in free agency. I'm pretty confident they're the current favorites to win the NFC north right now, Bill, you said you looked at the odds, right? So I texted Sal and a couple of other of our friends because I was stunned that they were plus one 30. I actually thought they were gonna be like minus one 50 or something like that. They have the 6th and the 18th picks. On top of all the stuff that in free agency and they went 9 and 8 last year. And that division stinks. Legitimate favorites. So many things goat working in their favor. Jamie said, Williams coming back would even play in the offense, which I think finished top 5 and DVA. And then perhaps equally importantly, they bring back Ben Johnson, their offerings of coordinator, doing something that I have always advocated for teams to do, which is spend everything on your assistance. You can, just throw money at them, try to get, I mean, I think there are other reasons why he stayed, but maybe he didn't like the jobs or whatever, but clearly the dude got a raise, and he is awesome. So that was. So you're saying that patriots strategy of relatives and washed up other coaches working at a position as a bad strategy? Joe judge got promoted today, I saw it, right? Great. So fired up for special teams. And then the other thing is, and this is the free agency stuff really, the glaring weakness of the team was the past defense worst QBR and the NFL were a bunch of categories. They went out and they completely remade their secondary, aggressively too, because they tried to get jaylen Ramsey, which was the other I was thinking about doing that one. But they miss on him. So they signed a bunch of kind of like your favorite cornerbacks cornerback, guys. Like, cam Sutton, the manual Moseley, coming off the NJ people that football people just love. And then they get CJ Gardner Johnson, who has familiarity with their defensive coordinator and Glen on a really, really cheap deal. Which now and number 6, they're like in pole position to do a million different things. So love their off season, love them as a division favorites love lines. And Danny, I'm just gonna say it. They probably have one of the four best quarterbacks in the conference. Right. Yeah. Name me for that you would rather have in the NFC than I guess you would take Gino Dakar. I'm trying to staff the cousins. Which is obviously important. God for cousins at this point. That's tough. I'd rather have goth. Goth played surprisingly well last year. I think I would probably pick cousins just by a hair, but I mean, if we're even discussing it, I think that's notable that. Because we had given up on cough. And in this offense, I don't know if he was necessarily elevating everyone around him, but he was delivering the football on time. He's doing kind of what he did earlier in his career with the rams. And running the offense to the way that you can run it with like you're getting the ball to your playmakers letting them do the work. So I thought he took some hits too, which was the

"TJ Gardner Johnson. He can blitz and in space he's phenomenal. In his intercepted, it's Parker Johnson. He's the spark plug on his back end. Super Bowl champion no Beckham junior is still a free agent. The high points the football touchdown OBJ. They need to go get a bonafide number one that is OBJ. Welcome to NFL live, presented by toro. One of the biggest weeks on the NFL calendar is here free agency is upon us and we are with you live with all the latest all week. Adam shepherd, we begin with the most up to date news and let's start with Jimmy Garoppolo. Yeah, he's going to the Las Vegas Raiders law on a three year deal with about 67 point two $5 million 67 and a half $1 million and he is going to be the man there in Las Vegas for a team that attempted to go up in the draft that didn't make it up to number one. They were happy to get Jimmy Garoppolo. It's a situation where he'll be the guy there in Las Vegas and I don't think you can raiders of the picking quarterback in round one. Javon hargraves gets a four year $84 million deal with the forty-niners with $40 million guaranteed. Do you think about that defensive line with javon hargrave Nick Bosa Eric Armstead they are loaded up front, a lot of people there, a lot of firepower in the defensive line for the forty-niners who have been busy today and the Detroit Lions are shunning Cameron Sutton to a three year deal worth up to, up to $33 million, a lot of incentives in there. So three interceptions for cam Sutton the lines need some help in the secondary. They get it there. As we carry on, is there anybody else? Mike mcglinchy, there's a lot of help for that O line and Denver Adams. Yeah, Mike mcglinchey's got a 5 year 87 and a half $1 million deal with the Chicago Bears or which the Denver Broncos obviously goes there. The Broncos also has Ben powers from the Baltimore Ravens four year, $52 million deal, so the Broncos at two players to their offensive line today and you take a look right there at some of the players who have shifted teams today. Then powers to Denver Jared sent him to Deborah Andrew Wally to the commander's TJ over to the bears Mike white to the dolphins case keener thin sections and no. By the way, tremaine Edmonds, four years, $72 million, 50 million guaranteed with the Chicago Bears. Player goes to Chicago. Okay, that was great. We were waiting to hear when that would happen. You see everyone right here at Marcus spears is on his phone line. I'm just refreshing my timeline. There's Dan orlowski. That's out of chef who's with us for an hour, of course. We have Mina chimes as well and if Aaron Rodgers news breaks will bring it to you, but let's stay with tremaine Edmunds. Your reaction to hearing that. Putting the bears. I love it. I love it. Obviously we saw the bears. That's number one position of need. Obviously, with them having that whole rogue. Roquan, we're Rogue One department. And then you think about the bears. They have to solidify their front, right? Defensively, we know that the defensive line needs attention. More importantly, that offensive line needs attention, but I think this is bringing a veteran present in, which remains, and you feel a need, probably what you wanted to give ro corn and obviously he went and got a 100 million from Baltimore. Yeah, so the bear has been playing football a 103 years. They've been the worst scoring defense in the NFL twice. Last year was one of them. So defense is a massive need for them. My immediate reaction was like, well, if you were going to pay tremaine, that why would you have not just kept roquan, the difference is tremaine Edwin's Edmonds grew up under Leslie Frazier playing defense in Carolina, which is this traditional at least covered three cover two scheme, Tampa two mic, linebacker run through. That's exactly what Alan Williams, who's the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears wants to do. So it's probably a little bit more of we view roquan and tremaine as similar talents and or players, but tremaine has a great history of running the middle linebacker position in this scheme that Chicago wants to run. Yeah, I'll say a little bit surprising after they signed TJ Edwards, which is assigning I liked. You know, I thought he was good and Philadelphia, but that's a lot of money allocated to the linebacker position. Clearly a position of great importance to them still a ton of work to be done on that defensive line, something we suspect they'll address in the draft. This is a team that came into free agency with a boatload cap space, some of that, of course, went to DJ Moore, but we're going to talk about, but to dance point, I feel like this is about philosophy as much as anything, the identity that Lou getsi wants to bring to this defense that they're kind of making over. So positional value, I have some questions, but as far as the players that they brought in, they're going to make this unit much better. Yeah, let's see if they can add some help to the O line too. Now, news is going to continue to fly around here for the next hour and for this entire week. But let's get to some news that already came in. With Jimmy Garoppolo, now remember, here's the issue, right? He struggled to stay healthy in San Francisco, but has been productive win on the field. The Raiders are hoping that's what they get. Since joining the forty-niners in 2017, he posted a 38 and 17 record the 5th highest win percentage of any QB with at least 30 starts over that span. He's also posted the league's third highest completion percentage in the most yards per ten, but to be fair, he's averaged the most yards after the catch for completion, so some of that has to do with who you're throwing it to, the scheme, all that jazz. Mina does this move of Garoppolo going to the Raiders make sense to you. Yeah, it makes sense. I mean, there's like signings that make you scratch your head, signings you love. This kind of falls in the middle for me. It just feels logical. It's not overwhelming. It's something that a lot of us thought might be likely largely because of the connection between him and of course head coach Josh mcdaniel, the Daniels, you know, he had some success in the game he was granted in a very, very small sample size in New England, but the marriage between the coach and the quarterback makes sense. I think where it gets interesting and where this is up for debate is more is less about the player and more about the timeline specifically as a raiders fan. If you wanted your team to draft a rookie quarterback to go up and get a rookie quarterback as we just heard about, I think, you know, you can still do that with Jimmy Garoppolo, but the Raiders are probably more comfortable now just sitting at 7 seeing if a guy falls to them or potentially waiting till next year. And that to me also makes sense given how much teams have had to give up to go and get quarterback. Yeah, I see you want to say, I think this is most beneficial for Indy, who sits at number four. Now that Jimmy Garoppolo goes to the Raiders, they're no longer likely to jump indie and who Indy needs a quarterback. So I think that's one of the big things that comes out of this signing I've kind of two questions or points. Number one, we don't really know who Jimmy Garoppolo is outside of Kyle Shanahan. Again, he played a little bit to meanest point early on in New England, but a lot of quarterbacks that play for Kyle, play really well. So that's the big question mark is who's he going to be outside of the Marcus calls it insulated like the cocoon of Kyle Shanahan and the second thing is this for the Raiders, the reality and we called their week 18 game against the chiefs. They're defense is so decimated by a lack of talent that while I would have loved for them to get a young quarterback, this is probably better for the long play of their football team that they can address with that early draft pick and some of the draft picks that would have costed to go get the number one slot. I think the Raiders made their play for a quarterback in this draft last week on the day that the bears traded that pick away. They were one of the many teams that checked in with Chicago. Right. And explored a trade up. And ultimately, Chicago traded with Carolina. And the Raiders for a number of reasons didn't move up to number one. And so when they were sitting there at 7 and didn't get the ability or the chance to move up to number one, they said, we love Jimmy Garoppolo. Let's not waste any more time. Josh McDaniels worked with him in New England. He knows our offensive system. We believe in him as a quarterback. We're not going to go up any further than to the number one pick in this draft to pick the quarterback that we would have wanted at a steep price. It didn't happen. So we're going to cast a lot in the next direction. That's just the reality. Is it still keeps them behind Kansas City in the Chargers at best? Yeah, tough

"We were just talking about, I saw Rogue One with my children over the weekend. I had seen it years ago, haven't seen it since I started watching and or on Disney+, which, by the way, you could see right here on the Roku platform. Dude, I told my kids, I'm like, this is maybe, I think this is the best Star Wars movie. Outside of the originals, empires still. Empire Strikes Back. Empire Strikes Back is number one. Rogue one is right, I think it's better than any of the sequels, even the prequels. I think it's because it's basically Star Wars book three and a half. It bridges, the trilogy prequels that came out after the originals prior to the trilogy sequels. I'm confused. So Star Wars the original Star Wars is episodes four, 5 and 6 in the storyline. Yes. Yes. Then as we all know, after the ewoks, spoiler alert, helped conquer that, then Star Wars took a long, long, hiatus. Then they come back with a trilogy of prequels leading up to episodes four, 5, and 6. That ended with the creation of Darth Vader, okay? Anakin. And then they come up with a trilogy of sequels that go after the ewoks and revenge of the Jedi 7 8 and 9. Seven's not bad. There are some good Adam drivers terrific. 7 has some good parts. Right. Rey is a terrific character. I do love, I do love the characters of the 7, 8, 9. But Rogue One is right before episode four. And the way they nail it right up to episode right update where they take you directly to the doorstep of the original film and the way they handle it blew my children's minds and then it sets up and or Diego Luna plays the character and or in Rogue One and they've created a new Disney+ series on him that is phenomenal. I don't know if you've seen it. Phenomenal. Is this a hot take where I say it's, I might have to give robots. It's one of the best Star Wars movies, period. I would put it above maybe even like the original. I'm serious, man. A lot of people have Rogue One higher on their list, a lot of Star Wars people, yeah. Friday. And I don't know if this is his controversial as me saying I will recline my scene on a plane. I saw the final results of our poll question. Two thirds of the people say it's terrible to recline your seat in a place. What's the button for? Those are the people who are lying. I mean, you talk about Rogue One, that's rogue. Rogue zebra. Two thirds of the people, you know, care about their fellow man. I'm sitting at the rich eyes and show desk furnished by Granger with supplies and solutions for every industry Granger is the right product for you. Call click ranger dot com or just stop by. You ranger. He made a decision yet at once. No, absolutely not. Look, the bears thought they were getting Mike mcglinchy. You thought Russell Wilson had a good night last night? He's a Denver. Wakes up this morning, gets a new guard. Now he gets to do tackle mcglinchy Broncos. Wow, that's right. Sean Payton, man. It's just that team is gonna be. We need to keep the Broncos country let's ride. I gotta be honest with you. I mean, it's a great place to live. It's a great place to play football and Sean Payton showing up. I think has a lot to do with, hey, you come here. Let's ride. And part of the part of the problem has just been all the holding penalties they have on that line. Okay. So, Denver. Big news. I like that move. And it's kind of a loss for San Francisco, but the niners did if I'm not mistaken shore up. Oh my God. They're defensive line. So the top defensive tackle on the market, eagles, lost another one, so javon hargrave, going to the niners. Four years, 84 million. How are you going to score on them? I mean, this is the deal. You just keep building up your line. That's why the eagles won the NFC period. This year, they won the NFC period. As Joe banner, who is our in studio guest last week, and if you missed it, great conversation. Check it out on our YouTube page and also the rich eisen show collection, page on our Roku channel partnership. He was saying, offensive long defensive line, that's it. And your quarterback. Keep hitting that and you're going to win conference championships, if not super bowls. So the forty-niners, that's a big move right there. Instead of onto the Broncos too. Ah. So the Broncos got to see what the Raiders had instead them to last year. All right. Love it. 5 million guaranteed and 4 million more in upside. So there's your backup. There's your backup to Russell, keep building that team. I told you one of my favorite storylines this off season is going to be what are the Sean Payton Broncos look like? Now maybe a flip one of those receivers for some draft choices. They need to get in the first two rounds of the draft. This is a really good draft. Deep. And playable. What else? Anything else? Let's see. The lines are signing cam Sutton. Okay. And then the giants just, oh, so the commanders are signing the giant center Nick Gates. Okay. Jeff and Detroit, let's take his phone call. How you been, Jeffrey? What's going on, fellas, and it's been wonderful here. Listen, I'm just like you, believe me, nobody wants Aaron Rodgers in adjust uniform more than that. Could you imagine a song NFC north with this man? It's like, yes, the ASC is that way, sir. Listen, I am really, really hoping that he really, really goes that way because I'll be the number one fan for him. And I'm going to tell you why it's possible. You think about this. With Aaron Rodgers, it's always about him and his competition. Stafford leaves gets a Super Bowl. Brady leaves gets a Super Bowl. And you best believe that he believes that he's better than those two. Two elements reason why that he would do that is that one, and it's NYC. If you get a Super Bowl in New York, it's worth two. It's honestly worth two. Could you imagine the headlines? I know I'm dreaming for you 'cause I'm sitting up here dreaming my dancing show. But could you imagine the headlines, if he goes there and went to Super Bowl, they're Brigham, his jacket to the Super Bowl ceremony. Well, here's the deal, Jeff. Here's the deal, Jeffers. I think he's out of your division no matter what. Honestly, and thanks to the call, Jeffrey, always great to hear you and your passion and your excitement. Always appreciate hearing from Jeff and Detroit. As things currently stand, right here, on the rich eisen show,

"Know, I sometimes say in the college ranks that USC players are always good interviews on the program, and I always say that Notre Dame players are always good interviews on the program. Same thing with the NFL and the Steelers. That is just the latest in a long line of really good stealer. Interviews over the years, the Steelers For whatever reason, always produce really good interviews. And that's just the latest. That was really impressive. Cam Sutton. Is intellectual approach to the game. I thought very, very cerebral and great to talk to really enjoy that, as you can tell. We give you some reaction gets caught up on a few things. JD in Web field tweets. I hate the Steelers. That said, I'm having a really difficult time not liking what I hear from Cam Sutton Class Act. Well, said. You know if you separate yourself from the team, and maybe that's not your allegiance, But if you just listen to the guy with the guy had to say, how can you not be impressed? How can you not respect that? Dear Mr Rome. Thanks for bringing coach Pittman on his interview today, and their performance on Saturday is another reminder of how fraudulent The Texas Longhorns are Texas is not back. Nick in New York. Maybe not the football program. Basketball team is say that right now. Let's see. What else do we have here? Tim Tweets. I've been waiting all weekend for you to tear apart, Herb. It's everything I was waiting for, and more Like I said. Coming off week one of the NFL season. The last thing that I expected to be talking about was the Jags V Texans. You don't bad something would have to go in that game for me to have That is one of the topics that I would get to And it was that bad. In fact, worse I thought I actually took.

"I got a little Indian blood in me, and I was like, Hey, no dancing, no dancing. I did. I didn't want any rained out baseball game. Because we'd have to go work, but my expertise was roughing. And so I and I rushed my way through college. I went to Pittsburgh statement. By the way. Welcome to the jungle. That was our we'd run out of Pittsburgh State. We were the guerrillas, and we'd run out to that song. So that was kind of cool Your intro song, but But now and we each one of those five of us and the girls were painters and me and my brother were roofers and sheet rockers. Absolutely amazing. So that stays with you until this day, And now you get yourself a huge, huge win. What do you do? Obviously, when a team has success, sometimes success is more hard to deal with, and failure. You've got Georgia Southern Company and what's your message to your team this week? I don't think the whole lot. Here's what happened last year. You know, we we second game of the year we beat Mississippi State on the road and we hadn't won and I don't know a long time. As you see game, then we'll go to Auburn. And I don't know if you remember but that we had. There was a bad call at the end of the game at Auburn. Well, we we rebound and we played a good game at Auburn. Then we come home would be told miss. So I think what we've done in the past where you could be pretty high and then get a low I say we're not going to talk about any of that. To be honest with you. Our kids have a lot of pride. We know every week is so precious. I think we're going to be just fine. We're going. We're going to flush this game by About three o'clock this afternoon and get on to Georgia. Seven. There you go. It's just about to ask you. How long do you let them enjoy it? But by three o'clock this afternoon, he is the head football coach at Arkansas Second season there and what a great win. That was a great statement went to a 42 21 beatdown of number. 15, Texas on Saturday. Sam Great to have you on this show. Sincerely and truly when absolutely awesome went for Arkansas. In fact, attic Just a beatdown of number. 15, Texas Hogs fans. How good did that feel? To his point? When we come back the Steelers coming up big in week one against Buffalo cornerback Cam Sutton will be joining us. And one more thing. I mentioned it last week. I never actually did a preview of it on this show. I'm still feeling really good about episode. 1 88 The Jim Rohn podcast. It's still live right now. But actually, they all go into the cow log. "30 Eastern and 11:30 A.m. Pacific with the Mercedes Benz Drive to Atlanta, and you catch up on all the action from around college football on state farm college football today. That's all coming up on CBS on Saturday. Is going to be a really good day. So how good is it? Keep to leave. Really enjoyed that. Some other reaction. Danger. Donny 9 to 5 tweets. Fake Rex is sewage. Their high May I'm having some issues. On the one hand you have Ben mesmeric, basically calling the clones brain surgeons. And then you have idiots sending in Haikou use they're not like us, and they call them hike use because they typed them in three lines. Please help. Stephen s. A. Steve. Steve, You're a pretty smart guy. I mean, ask you constantly posting about all the trappings of your wealth. Why are you having trouble with that? It's actually very easy to answer. So you're conflicted. Why is Ben mesmeric treating the clones and acting as if they're brain surgeons? Because Ben Metrics like the best guy ever? Benches being nice. Ben's just being Ben. Ben is such a good dude. Ben before Ben. Started doing books that sold millions of copies that immediately turned into major motion pictures. He was already an awesome guy, and then he started doing that. And he's still an awesome guy, and he's strangely Actually believes that the clones have something to do with his success. That's why he treats them like brain surgeons. He's just being nice. As far as these so called brain surgeons not be able to execute a haiku. That's also not surprising. Many of these people can't even utter a single sentence, much less, take three and put it into a certain format. 575. You can't just take three random sentences that are like 9 28 14 and called a haiku to make your point. Just make your point that Hey, Rome. The fake Rex, just as in the case of the fake silk is always better. The fake Rex is number one. In the number two game. Erin in Iowa. I'm not even gonna respond to that. At 115 USA tweets. Jamous doesn't prepare for questions in a boat. He prepares for questions in a boat on boats. Okay, Matt Official on a boat. Shoot side Eric in Orlando. 1 800. 63686 86 Sam Pittman is coming up at 10 40. He is the head football coach at Arkansas. We moved Cam Sutton, who's a cornerback with the Steelers to the top of our number three. So, like with everything going on yesterday, like Cleveland, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Buffalo to name a few things. The last thing that I thought that I'd be talking about today honestly was Jacksonville in Houston. Honestly. But I've got no choice like I have to. Not like Herb. The alleged savior is leaving me any choice at all. He's the last dude that I want to be talking about after a great opening weekend, but per usual, he leaves me no choice. Yesterday morning. It started when Jason, locking for a dropped a piece on CBS sports dot com about urban Meyer. And it did not go well for Herb. Let me read from the second paragraph, and I quote There have been repeated issues with other coaches on staff, with Myers temper and lack of familiar familiarity with the ebbs and flows of the NFL calendar, rubbing the Jacksonville Jaguars staff and players the wrong way, the sources said. It goes on quote. There is a disconnected times between the members of the staff with extensive experience and those who lack it, and morale has suffered as the outbursts of continued his firing remarks to players and coaches after games have already struck many as bizarre. End quote. All of that going on, and they haven't played a game that mattered yet. Never good when you're hearing about a head coaches, temper and lack of familiarity. With how the NFL works. That's not a good sign when you're an NFL coach, Nor is it a good sign that his comments to players and coaches have quote struck many as bizarre. And there's more. How about this quote from one source with direct knowledge of daily operations in Jacksonville quote. He has everyone looking over their shoulders. Already, he becomes unhinged way too easily, And he doesn't know how to handle losing. Even in the preseason. He loses it and wants to take over the drills himself. It's not good. End quote. Not good or below. Not good, Not good below, not good or extremely horrible. Having words like bizarre and unhinged, being among the adjectives that people use for you as brutal, especially when you were considered the alleged savior and the guy responsible for turning around the entire operation and saving that region of the country. And if people around you were saying that this guy gets unhinged over losses in the preseason, that's really not a good thing. As another source said, Quote. You can't freak out about preseason games and be little your coaches on the staff that you hand picked. Every time things don't go your way. It's not going to work here. End quote. Because that is the absolute opposite of ownership. Right? The one thing you demand of everybody around you, but have absolutely none yourself. But here's the thing. I'm sure that herbs. Few remaining supporters will say, Hey, Rome! Come on, man. We know this guy's control freak. That's his deal. That's his brand. And of course he's not used to losing. He never has before, and if he does his job right, he will not have to endure very much of that in the NFL, either. I mean, you can tell me who cares about a guy freaking out over the preseason, and that's how you develop a winning culture. But what you want Like like, like, What do you want to coach is good with losing the preseason? No, You don't want that. You can tell me this guy is one of the greatest football coaches of all time, and he's got a quarterback of a generation. And it's going to work. Just wait until this guy gets to the regular season before you rush to judgment. He's got a track record. He's got a generational quarterback. Give this guy little time. At least let him wait. Or at least wait until he gets to the regular season. All right. All right, I'll do that. And here's what I have to say to you. Houston 37 Jacksonville 21. Here's what else I have to say to you that sewage the Texans were playing without their franchise quarterback. The Texans seem to be pretty clearly looking to tank. The Texans had one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year, and they just took the Jags to the wood shed. Man. It was bad how bad they were up 27 to 7 at halftime. They eased up in the second half..

"We said that this guy is the guy that is going to step up as well and one guy. We didn't give a game ball. Because i want all the way from the field was cam sutton. Yes and cam sutton's a guy that we have been talking about the whole time. The steelers gotta bring in another cornerback. They just can't do it. They should have never gotten rid of steven nelson blah blah blah blah blah. But here's the deal cam sutton stepped up in showed he belongs. This whole team has heard how they were going to lose the buffalo. Everybody said at people that believe in the steelers even said it except for jeff who who is who is in the no but the bottom line to the whole thing is this is a team that believes this is a team. That has an us against the world mentality chase. Clay will even said that the other day on our bts's exclusive interview that they have that mentality and they know what they have. they believe. We've gotta start believing and this could be special so this is a win that to me was one of the most satisfying of my entire forty plus years of watching the pittsburgh steelers because i just have watched this movie over and over again in. This movie ends early on with a team like buffalo winning not today. The narrative his changed. Let's change our narrative with it. All right let's get to wilson's five dollar tip. He says game ball gives a candidate for the office of calling. Play designed game plan in corrections. Made the difference. Cam is close second. He was huge. Yeah ever thought about giving it to the offense coordinator baby. Could dave go with your final thoughts. All right i've got a lotta final thoughts so This is just some. Don't take this in. Take it all in fans because you know bills. Mafia started leaving the stadium when the after when the steelers went up. Ten with nine minutes left people were starting to leave. Okay then when boswell hit the hit. The field goal later on. They poured out of that place. We heard them talking smack for the longest time. And guess what the steelers came in. I mean it wasn't if they were going to win. The question was about how much they were going to win. By was was the question and that's just how they. They felt that they ended up with a with a perfectly easy game to start the season. And it wasn't. I said it before i'm gonna say it again. The if the steelers could actually pull off this game which was won. I mean if you if when go golfing jeff and you look at the card and it tells you you know you've got the easiest hole and you've got the most difficult as you go through and they rank them. This was one of the more difficult games on the steelers schedule. All this is like the two or three handicap. Exactly thanks for saying it. The right way or i was afraid i was gonna say it wrong. That's why did you know that was this game. And they did it and they didn't even score in the first half they didn't even score in the first half but the defense did the job kept them in this game and at the end of the end of the game where they were trying to hold onto a lead they don't break and gave up three and not seven so i mean if not you're still talking about a ten point game there's a lot to be excited about. I wasn't sure if the steelers would bring it together enough to win this game. I felt that the defense would do the job. I didn't know if they could get enough points otherwise and they found Now look out because now the rest the nfl are going to be looking for you. They're going to be trying to exploit the that offensive line is a weakness. You've got to come out ready to work ready to go unless they'll get the win at home next week while said gentlemen i'm gonna go ahead and say that ron chest put the put a well. He's at a vein. He's been a favor fifty years. He's a dedicate this win yes as absolutely. That's a good way to finish the show today. Touch would be smile ear. I'm sure allah can think about is him with the get your bags packed for going to denver for millionaires such a great lie recipes. Touch okay and this is for you there my friend even though we never met we all felt like he was part of the family. So thanks for listening to a part of this makes you follows where we get your podcast and we will see you next week after they play. The raiders. steelers raiders at heinz field. Take it easy. "The full day? Sure. And your your shopping the day before. If you're in the camper a lot If you have a boss that you drive, you know you've got groups of 20 friends that All pile into the boss that they bought for $300.08 years ago. Yeah. You know, like it's an experience. It's It's um it's just great and to have Sunday will be It'll be the best day of the year. It will be the best day of the year to have everybody there. Everybody will just kind of, you know. Look around and see How great is it to be back? You know how great to be back here at the stadium. I think For me. I'm not. I'm not going to go on and on about the nineties because I'll just bore people to death. But for me last season I got here in 89. There was Rob, who called us. I apologize if I got the name wrong. I got here in 89. Okay, so I got here as as things are really cooking or beginning well, After 89, But I thought last year Jeremy reminded me. I kept wondering, Is this what it was like? And like, maybe the couple years prior like 86 87. Okay. Kelly finally comes out of the USFL. You know, polling in this year they bring in Marv. They're not winning yet, but they're putting the pieces together. They got their franchise quarterback They got there. They already had their receiver. They had their stud defensive player. Oh, my gosh. They traded for Cornelius Bennett. They draft Thurman Thomas and then to me, I felt like last year, I wondered if that was like it felt to be a bills fan in 88 where you knew something. They win the division that year. Uh and they go to the championship and they lose to the Bangles. Now it doesn't go well. The next year they get bounced in the wild card, and then we know what happened. So I thought to me I didn't experience that. Yes, experienced the Super Bowl years and I mean I can't tell you how much fun that was. I hope that happens again. So with a win so people can experience that, But I thought I wonder if this is what it was like when you were there. You saw developing. You're there on the ground floor. I come to town. They're good, but to be there at the start when they go from two and 14, 2 and 14, 4 and 12, I think in Kelly's first year And then 87 was a strike year and then you win the division and you tear the goalpost down like that. Must have been a really cool feeling. I think that was last season. I'm guessing for a number of people. Um, either you go through it again. Or I think this is what it would have been like you feel We're on the brink of something special, and this is going to be for a few years. This is not a fluky one year thing. Right, GM, Right coach, Right quarterback, Right Players, talented roster. Let's go and then it, you know, Hopefully this leads to yes, a decade of being in the playoffs and being a Super Bowl contender every year because it really was up last Let's improve the game plan, Shall we? This is something going on a regular basis Football Friday. Improve the game plan. Brought to you by Bath fitter. Improve your bath in one day with bath fitter. It just fits bath fitter buffalo dot com. Uh, I did some research here because I think you would want to talk about I'm guessing you're talking about Hey, throw the ball bills, uh, passing game Briand able, utilizing that attack that philosophy from last year Josh Allen, the deep weapons against a secondary at least the corners where you surely can, I think have a big edge in the matchups on Sunday. So remember, the Steelers lost Mike Hilton in the off season. They lost Steve Nelson in the off season. Joe Haden's Their number one cornerback. Probably not going to be able to cover Stefon Diggs. Uh, Cam Sutton is okay. He might be a slot guy on the nickel, but their depth at cornerback is very suspect Good at safety. Especially Minka Fitzpatrick, but depth at quarterback very suspect and I would think there's going to be a lot of trouble for Pittsburgh to match up with the depth of the Bills wide receivers on Sunday. I'm not telling you anything that Brian Table doesn't know already, by the way, but yes, throw the ball. Um, make sure Josh is protected. You know, you got to worry about what Uh, Melvin Ingram is on the Steelers now this season. Um, they don't have stuff onto it. That helps, but they have a good front seven. But I think you can take advantage of the matchups with your receivers in this game plan against the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary on Sunday, which again is not a big surprise. No one expects the bills come out and try and run the ball. Right? Why come out and establish the run? I just if they were going to do that, maybe they watched the game last night and saw 700 passing yards and 100 rushing yards combined. So throw the ball there, Mr Dabble and throw it at their cornerbacks. That's improving the game. By the way. One other thing in terms of the game plan to watch out for is the Steelers offensive line. Okay, that's they blew up their line in the off season. So they're going to start a rookie left tackle. A rookie center. And a left guard who has four career starts on his resume. And the right tackle by reading this from reading all the Steelers stories this week. Jeremy, Everybody's talking about how the right tackle probably is better suited to be at the left tackle spot, but they need him on the right side, so they're going to start the rookie at left tackle. So I think You know, you have some areas of question big questions on the Steelers offensive line. That doesn't mean sacks folks, because if they're smart, they're going to have Ben Roethlisberger at the ball out in two seconds. But this could be a game where maybe Najee Harris doesn't find a lot of room to run. And maybe Rothenberger is under constant pressure because that line is a work in progress for Pittsburgh. That's all I got for the game. What else? It's almost to get through this segment. Oh, uh You wanted to promote I'm supposed to. You want to bring up something? I have no idea what we're talking about. Yes. So apparently I got sent a video. Uh, W George tweeted it out Niagara Metals. Has, uh, destroyed a Pittsburgh Steelers car to go. There's like an SUV. It's in Pittsburgh on it, and they lift it up and they smash it around with the giant thing that smashes, you know, cars and other things. Um, I gotta go. Look, this is and So I'm watching them, like, drop us. I mean, whatever this thing is on the Pittsburgh we tweeted off. He wants to have it. I'm garnered. Yeah, it's funny. You asked me What is Niagara Metal? I had no Britain said Jeremy wants to mention Niagara Metals. And I thought, Okay, What is it? Okay, so very quickly. It's it's It's one of these things that when you become The kids would say, And I might say, like adult ng Non metals is located in the city. At least one of them is like right by the Wegmans on Amherst Street. Um by U B. It's tucked away. And if you ever I've done this a few times if you ever have, like, Oh, we got a new stove. What do I do with the old stove? You throw it in the back of a truck driver to Niagara Metals and drop it got it. They'll weigh it. And then they'll give you money for the material, right?.

"JJ is made of the Brazilian dollars. He's going to make money he's making 10 million this year. You know, Injury risk is not as much of a financial crisis for T J Watt as it might be. For some other players were in this situation, so go out there and play. Tim. How about on the offensive side of the ball? The offseason decision to bring Ben Roethlisberger back on a restructured contract? It's a one year deal, in essence, with avoided years after, so it appears as though This is his final year with the Steelers. What did you make of them, bringing him back? And would you agree with that? This is probably it for him. It should be. I think you probably all felt the same way as I did at the end of the Cleveland game that it should have been last year. There was an opportunity here for them to make a clean break and reboot a lot of people going out the door, you know, change over the quarterback, but they just weren't ready to do that. I think because it has been Now three straight mint that four straight actually years without a playoff victory in Pittsburgh with the defense that they feel that they have coming back, I don't think they were ready to pull the plug and roll the dice on getting of new quarterback either via trade or via the draft when they had so many other holes to fill, so I think they felt a little stuck in between on what to do there. But I would assume that this would be Ben Raw office burgers last year, But then again, you know if he Was a good year. They have a good year They get to 10 11 wins. They do finally win a playoff game for the first time in four years, eventually changes his mind. I just I don't see the season going that smoothly for banning the offense or the team. What do we expect from Matt Canada's offense? Yeah. Great question. Uh, he's smart enough to know he can't do everything that he did it pit And in the college game with all the pre snap and, um, you know, exposing the quarterback in that way when it's been ranches Burger and Ben Roethlisberger doesn't want to do all that. He can't do what he did here. Next door at the Pit Panthers facility and do what he did Another stops along the way in college with Ben being the quarterback, so he's not going to shoehorn in as much as he did with the you know, running out of, uh, Pistol or having a quarterback, you know, make reads as to whether or not he's going to run or handed off is going to be a hybrid of what Ben likes to run, which is, you know, old school traditional snapping the shotgun. Stand in the pocket. Get rid of it quickly. Football and Some of the tricky misreads and directions that Canada likes to play with it. It'll be a hybrid. I think it'll eventually default to more of what we've seen from Roethlisberger in recent years, though, very quickly. Tim. How about what's in front of Roethlisberger? I think whenever the offensive line of Pittsburgh gets brought up, it's always while they're one of the worst units in the league coming into the year, look at what happened last year. Rosberg had to get rid of the ball like that. They weren't able to run the ball that efficiently. But that's also Most people when they say that I don't even think really know the underneath the names of the individuals that are starting on their offensive line. So do you feel like that reputation is deserved going into the year that Pittsburgh is underwhelming on the front five. Yeah, I do think it deserves because it's got to be earned. And you know, like you said, there are two guys at least that we know nothing about at the NFL level that will likely start because they're rookies in Kendrick Greene and Dan War. Who is now starting because Zach Banner is hurt. And we really didn't know much about Jack Banner, either because he got hurt with an A C L in the first half of the first game last year and now appears to have some sort of setback going into the first game this year, and it started off on IR again. So you've got unknowns at best, And then a lot of cases you've got guys that have to prove that they're not washed up or not. Busts like you know, uh, shoot score for one tackle. Trade Turner coming here to Pittsburgh, replace David DeCastro at one guard. Um and then you look at the other guard position. Kevin Dotson, who I thought was arguably when he got a chance to play last year, their best lineman. He's a second year. Guy didn't have a great camp and have some injury concerns in camp as well. I thought he played well in the preseason, but they were kind of all over him for some practice things here and there. I'm not quite sure what the evaluation is of him, but I like him and God are used the one guy that I am optimistic about everything else, though, is yes. Very much a question. What about on the defensive side. Tim Tim Ben's joining US trip trip sports columnists, dealers pregame host. On the Western hotline. The Bills offense to me has looked really, really sharp throughout all of training camp. Now we know the Steelers gonna be well coached they You're probably gonna have t J Watt. They're a good defense. But where can they possibly be taken advantage of. Nickel and dime situations with the lack of depth that defensive back I think they have at least three, maybe four good defensive acts depending on how much Cam Sutton makes it jump from Good Reserve, two solid starter at one corner. That's a question. I mean, you know, might be one of these guys who get exposed with the more playing time and the more responsibility he has, But I do like him as player Hayden Still good and make up. It's Patrick's excellent relevant is capable is starting safety. But then, after that they have Tried a number of different ways to figure out how to replace Mike Hilton. As the Nickelback the slot corner. However, you want to refer to it and they have found on everyone so far in the off season, and they're probably going to have to default to sudden bumping inside from the boundary corner to play. This lot position and replace Hilton that way, and then have somebody else play as the fifth defensive back When they go to dime they might rely on Trey Norwood, who's a smart kid. I just don't know how incredibly athletic he is. Or is not to be almost a third safety in the dime, and he's 1/7 round rookie out of Oklahoma like him. Good special team guy Heady might be. Biting off more than he can chew to actually jump in there and play against the bills, though, so if you go to the nickel and the dime, the secondary gets thin. It will be interesting to see how Joe Schobert and Devin Busch we've in As two guys paired together for the first time in game one talent there to be sure, Let's see how they communicate when they're nickel situations. Tim. I wonder what you think is successful season for Pittsburgh would look like or even like what Pittsburgh fans would think that looks like because from my seat like I would think, all right if the Steelers.

Jerseys they're going to try to look for presley. harvard jerseys i can hook you guys up with presley harvard. Jerseys if you wanna let me know they will come at a premium. But james washington jersey and damian king gives us nineteen dollars and thirty three cents. Why is he giving us nineteen thirty. Three that's the year. The steelers were founded. Yeah damian king hats off to you. that's awesome. I love the fact that we have one guy in the a post game show that gives us the steelers record after every game the even in the playoffs. He was giving us the record after every game when they were eleven and five or actually problem four. We got twelve four. You know Or i'm sorry. Eleven o five and and there's i'm sorry twelve. Oh four apologized. They mean wants to know. I'm interested on how the steelers will use teams washing in canada's offense this year i think james washington is a very pivotal player. Because he's one of those guys that is going to have to force his way in but he's more than capable than four. He's so capable forcing his way. Oh yeah because ben. Trust him now and he does stuff. That's pretty good. I still think that i was going to have the award for most receptions. So let's bring that up now who's gonna be the grabber. We'll call it the grabber award. Who's going to grab the most balls. Here's the ball grabber. Here i'm gonna go with deontay. I think he's. He's still going to get the most targets. And i think he's gonna come down there most pivotal weapon. But i think he's going to. He's going to definitely be the the catalyst for the past like he was couple of years. Really i like the entree. i'm gonna go chase claypool. Jude us going to be number to james washington. I think maybe number three though it's going to be interested. This could go one two three four four three two one right. I mean. I would not be surprised if it was james washington. I don't think it's gonna happen but if it happens not surprised well look let me to two years. You go with the quarterback situation. You led the team in yardage. Yeah who saw. Yeah i mean it's just a numbers game with him so far because they have so much Young talent the receiver position. It's hard for for somebody's going to be the when Left out a little bit. And i think it's so far it's been james washington unfortunately a i gotta bring this jersey double. Let's just hope. Joe justin just one blunt lane can get his game together if you listen to. Let's right it's lust in jane. That's his name. Gosh south bell. South balsas mick. Foley's amazing human being watched that it's so good kevin james's saint chase. We'll be the flexible we used to have. I hope so. And canaan benner. He's a top twenty route runner and excels at getting open. And i think he's still talking about james washing. No he's he's seconding johnson. He's talking about joe johnson there so something happened. Something happened with nagae harris. The other day he threw a perfect strike for the steelers. Actually for the pirates. Throwing out the first pitch. Here's the problem though. The pirates immediately traded him to the raise to get back chris archer. Yeah 'cause chris is back with the raise. Yeah well to be fair. They also got. The thirtieth best prospect in organization wasn't thinking of the future snake another future about that. That's awesome Gosh man all this nonsense. let's talk about the isaac redman war now. Usually the isaac redman award.

"I really albie oxen rider from px. I eleven in pittsburg fame sportscaster in the steel city at a longtime friend and regular on the bench and we gotta check him tonight. A lot going on in the steel city. How're you doing albie. I suppose you're going on the air in about an half an hour. Forty five minutes to do your sports. Update you'll be shining. Those three early penguin goals before they gave up four straight and lost the flyers about is. If you're if you're talking about hockey that's about as bad as it gets. That was a bad loss. Maybe their worst of the season and What can i tell you they when when you give up three goals quickly. The flyers took something to get back but They scored four and they beat them. So that's the way it goes. They'll get another chance to this weekend with the flyers so i could turn power play. I'm good brother. It's good to have you on gerardo at the game winner. He had two goals. He's been on a cold streak All season hasn't been scoring goals. Irregular twenty goal scorer automatic but drew a big night with the two goals and an says and katori. Eight a power play goal. I set on tv today. That i took the flyers in that game because penguins killed him the other night five to. What do you think of the and that was without crosby crosby was back in the lineup tonight. So what do you think penguins this year. The way they're playing and where they stand now at twelve nine and one in the mix in that east. it's not going to be easy for them to even get one of those spots. I think that's their biggest problem. Scotty i in in the east. I mean you're you're you're chasing the capitals and the bruins in the islanders and the flyers and the problem is every night. Somebody's beating somebody else. Points going back and forth all the time and if you play these two if you're on the outside looking in even if it's only a couple of points and you get a series in you split the series it does you no good and they also struggled and you know they were winning a lot of games in overtime or in the shootout which is great. But you're giving away points when you win it that way and it doesn't do a whole lot of good when can't win games in regulation that's going to add up. It's so i think the toughest thing that they're going to have to overcome these teams in front of them. There's four quality teams. They're going to have to catch one of them Sisters said he's the best Malkin's gotta get it going. I think he would be the first to tell you that And they need they need to have solid goaltending tristen jars kinda gotten it together. The last couple of weeks but tonight was a tonight was the night that they'd like to forget because When you when you go up three nothing so quickly in the first four minutes of the game And then they just crystal tank said. They took their foot off the gas. And you can't do that against the flyers and you don't wanna you don't want you wanna take every bit of traction you can get you. Don't wanna give anything away and they're giving too many games away in this these so i think their biggest problem is therefore teams. They're trying to catch. But you know they're they're resilient they bounced back. We'll see see how they do in the third game against the flyers. Yeah my dad used to say to me. All the time he he'd say three-goal lead and hockey is the worst lead you could have and then sure enough. So let's let's talk about big ben taken that pay cut now. How does that deal workout for the steelers now with what. They came up with today at the drawing board. Well the bottom line is the steelers know that they have been under center for another year and frankly they weren't in a position to think that they could get anything better. going forward in terms of making For the super bowl. Ben wanted to play. He made it clear he was willing to make some concessions. he's the competitor. And i think you also would love to. He'd love to finish it off obviously with a with a super bowl. He thinks he has a shot at doing that. They have a lot of work to do. But the bottom line is the steelers. No he'll be there and maybe more importantly he heard a lot of cap space with this rework deal. He is actually gets a one year You know one year deal for for fourteen million They're spreading a lot of the money out as far as a bonus. And i think there's a you know everybody agrees. There's a very realistic chance to disobey it. I mean i don't think anybody's looking beyond this year but hey listen. I think it's a no brainer. Wanted to come back. He said he was willing to rework his contract and take a pay cut. He took about a five million dollar. Pay cut Which frees them up to to do some very important stuff and that is they're they're they have to figure out what they're doing with the running game. They have to figure out a way to try to keep his defense together and If they can do that. And if these receivers can catch the ball I think. I think they'll have a shot that they need to get a running game. They have the defense And now they have been rothlisburger. You know what. I read a lot of stuff over the last few weeks about vendor office burger and you know some some fans were ready to move on and this guy is as you though a hall of famer. And he's not a hall of famer that's five years past crime. He's still putting up numbers. Then pass for almost four thousand yards. Last year thirty three touchdown passes only ten or sections. And and this is a guy that can still get done in the first eleven games last year he looked like a world beater and the games that they lost at the end of the season his offensive line was not would it should be receivers dropping passes and he had no running game. And it's tough to put all that on ben. I applaud him for doing what it takes to come back and play his eighteenth season. I plotted the steelers to know. Well enough office that they. They're not going to get anything better than ben rothlisberger. He's a franchise quarterback he's a hall of famer. And i still think he can do what they need him to do to get back to the super bowl. If if if they address those other issues running game being near the top of the list i actually. I'm with you on all of that. I said on the air many times that you know you don't win twelve games and win the division title and then you have a really horrible end of the season and horrible playoff game and bouncy snaps it over his head. It went downhill fast from there. He threw four of those ten picks in one game that game but he also threw four and five hundred one yards that day. No one ever talks about that. Then the media turned on him. The fans turned on him. Everybody said he's finished national media said he's a hack and that's because they're all bunch of idiots. Everybody thinks they're so clever you're right. He's going to the hall of fame. I think they have a lot of issues on that team. He's not one of them. I'll tell you this much. When my dad died. I picked up those season tickets of his now. I own them and i said on the air. I'm not paying all that money to go. Watch mason rudolph play. I'm gonna. I'm gonna pay that money to go watch ben rothlisberger pay. Let me ask you this question with the money that they've saved and you know pounds. He's gone now. They've saved money with rothlisberger. They've they've gotta figure out Juju are they going to let him go. Are they going to keep him. Listen i think if you look down at the list of unrestricted free agents. Judy was certainly the guy that everybody's talking about. Only twenty five years old. And and i know that ben taking a pay cut that he did in freeing up the cap space he did might make it more realistic to going into the offseason. It was a foregone conclusion that it wouldn't be realistic to think to take its resigned. Juju bud dupree and other guy you know right fans would love to see bucket free back but but it's it's going to be difficult alvin away but looks like he's gone james conner looks like he's gone There's a couple you know cam sutton. Their cornerback is an unrestricted free agent. They need to figure out what they're doing with him They they need to. They need to.
