"Yeah, the two, the two most likely names, aside from terrain, are both outfielders and their guys that have been on the radar for a little bit, sell free lick and Joey Weimar to guys who could not be more opposite in terms of the way they look, the way they play, you know, self free lick is about 5 ten left handed contact hitter. He's exactly, in my opinion, the kind of guy that the brewers need in their lineup, a guy who just figures out a way to get on base, scrapper, his time goes along. I think he'll develop a little bit more power. He's a guy who can play across the outfield and he's not going to hurt you. Then you have weemer who is this big strapping 6 5, 220 pound guy who can run like the wind has a cannon for an arm, you know, kind of a prototype right Fielder. And a guy who, if everything goes right and hit 35 homers in a year, a lot of early on in his professional career, there were a lot of comps between him and him and hunter Pence, both in physical stature and looks and just kind of the way they play the game. I think he's a little bit farther off than free lick is. I think free lick will be depending on how the outfield shakes out. I think Bruce fans will see free like in the first couple months of the season, and it's incredible the rise that he had in the minors last year. I mean, he started in high a and he was in the discussion by the end of the year of getting a call up. Kind of unusual, of course. So those are the two guys that really pop to the forefront in my mind as guys that could make an impact in camp on the pitching side. You've got a couple of relievers Abner urban who definitely needs more seasoning, but he's a guy who gets triple digits with his fastball that always will interest people and interesting teams. And then there's a little bit less heralded right hander by the end of cam Robinson who led all the minor leagues and saves last year with 25 his velocity is picked up, you know, he's got a good change of pace as well and a guy who got himself on the radar. He's also on the 40 man, which is which makes a difference too in terms of how quickly teams will call a guy up and how easy it is for them to do it. So that's two guys on the pitching side that I would mention as well. But this year may be more than any other in recent memory, the brewers will be impacted by a number of their higher ceiling, bigger name prospects. So in closing, how should the brewers or how do the brewers define a successful season for themselves in 2023 and for the fans who, as you noted, are in some cases dissatisfied with the way things have been going, what would it take to get popular opinion back on the brewer's side? As currently constructed, I think it would definitely be a major disappointment if they fail to make the playoffs again. I think wild card spot is the absolute basement of what they should be shooting for. I think a central division title is certainly within their grasp. It looks right now. It's like it's between the brewers and the Cardinals with much improved cubs team. Probably having a little bit of saying that as well. So from a fan's perspective, of course, you know, they should be in the World Series every year. We know that's not realistic, but this is an ownership group and this was bandied about after the hater Trey last year and it's almost become a kind of a rallying cry for frustrated fans that this is an ownership group that wants continual continual bites of the Apple as far as the postseason goes. This is an ownership group that does not want to go

"Joe noteboom. The next three are interesting to me. I just want to know, would you would you have any interest in any of these guys? Because they all have their red flags kind of. But you have cam Robinson, and you have Eric Fisher, then you have Nate solder. I think the argument you make for all three is some form of dysfunction in their offense. Robinson is still young, Fisher plays at a place where the quarterback was maybe a little bit too eager to improvise to extend plays and that is always difficult for a left tackle, although I also think Fisher didn't play very well. And sold her, I don't know. I mean, maybe in the end he was just, you know, it's going to be tough psychologically to get past the big contract he got and obviously he was a disappointment. During his time with the Giants, but do you kind of say, you know, we can run a very, I don't know, efficient quick strike offense and therefore we can live with Nate solar or do you kind of say, well, Nate solder was basically just a product of blocking for Tom Brady who whenever you blocked for Tom Reed, not only is it quick strike, but you know exactly where he is in the pocket at all times, and that makes your life easier as a blocker. Yeah, I mean, Tom Brady, I'm not saying that you and I could block for Tom Brady. But I'm kind of saying that we'd have a better chance of blocking for Tom Brady than anybody else in the NFL. Does that make sense? Yeah. Like if you had to pick one quarterback and you were like the left tackle of X team and you had to hold it down for one snap and not get somebody killed, it would probably you'd probably pick the bucks, right? Yes. Because he knows that we suck. And the balls you think could come out, or he's gonna know to immediately slide away from the person steamrolling us and breaking our bodies. Do you think there might be a quarterback that would look at us and say, that's my left tackle though, you know? It might be surprised by our lack of blocking skills, you know? I don't know. Just something. Just something to something to consider. Let's move on to guard, scary, interior. Interior interior. Ryan Jensen was really interesting to me as someone who would come in and solidify someone's interior line. But again, another guy with Tom Brady coming back is Jensen, just say, yeah, I'm running it back here..

I also wanna ask him about his competition of the twenty twenty three entry draft because we have him on on the day that mattie mitch gov matinee mitioukov makes his cage l. debut at the age of sixteen this is the other guy ripped up the us teens last year. People looked like this past year's draft lottery were nonplussed a little bit because they didn't have the sizzle of although i'll say this a couple of years owen power had that says yeah he did and then it just sort of plateaued but that's all yeah and laugh ranieri very very good prospect. Don't get us wrong. But probably not of this level as same goes with jack hughes. I would suggest yeah. Rasmus dow lean probably in that same darlene. Had pretty high praise going into production. Today when we say the best sense awesome matheus in two thousand sixteen. These next couple of drafts. Right and bidart. Well we're not that the draft is the problem so again like so. "On CBS Sports Radio. That's right. The NFL draft is underway. The Jacksonville Jaguars are on the clock and they will be taking Trevor Laurence. We will air the pick to you when it is announced Jr every break. We're going to be getting an update on Aaron Rodgers Michaelis, who does cover the Denver Broncos, said. While there are various reports out there and and Rogers in the Broncos, I'm told the Broncos are not in talks with Green Bay All Broncos brass is in war room gearing up. For the draft. Now, you could still make phone calls when you're in the war room, But that's the latest on the Aaron Rodgers of front. You know, you kind of look at it, and I did see that Mike Florio did report that Rogers would be interested in going to three teams, The 40 Niners, Denver and the the Raiders. Obviously, the 40 Niners would be the best option. But would you rather go to the Raiders of the Broncos? If you round Rogers and I need to get dealt tonight? I'm trying to run away from Mike Mayock. I don't want to be anywhere involved with Mark Davis. I don't want to be under the Tutelage of Gruden. I'd pass. You know, the Raiders were for as as great of a name and an organization that they are. No, I'm staying away from this current adoration. I don't I don't trust any of them. Yeah, and they've been a future team for for a long time and prudent to me is an overrated coach. Ever since winning the Super Bowl, he's been well below 500. But it is interesting to me. Russell Wilson had his agent coming out and sale. Yeah. I don't want to get trade. I want to stay in Seattle, but he did list four teams. The Raiders were on it. And now you get Aaron Rodgers potentially wanting to go to the Raiders. I don't get whatever but those two guys see what the Raiders because I'm with you. I know your producer Steward Kovacs. He's a a Las Vegas Raiders fan that just continues to get abused by that organization. Year in and year out. I don't know why you wanna go play for the Raiders. Sure. Well, I know in the case of Russell Wilson, it was before they start Dismantling their their offensive line. But if our and Rogers wants to keep his clavicle in one piece, and not two and three and four pieces, it would probably be a good idea to stay away from the Raiders. I saw the Raiders and read it just like everybody else. Through the idea out of the window because I can't see the Raiders knowing how to operate a phone. Good enough to even get Green Bay on the No. You're not wrong on that front and then you also you look at the offensive pieces that they have with Jacob's Waller. You got rugs. You got some good, productive players, But, yeah, that offensive line is in shambles right now, and just like you, and I think we share the same sentiment here. Neither of us trust this regime of Grudin and May Ock anymore. So you think May Hock knows? Do you think he uses his email address? I don't think Mike Mayock. I think Mike Mayock is probably calling his agent and saying, Hey, when can I get back on TV? Because when he said a few months ago, we have no elite players on defense. Well, that's a reflection of you. You and Grudin are drafting the players. So whose fault is that? Yeah, well, there's there's a long list of things we can ask them about. We can look at Ah, we can ask about Khalil Mack. We can ask about Antonio Brown. They have a long list of players who have been in the building. And are out of the building. Yeah, There's no doubt about that. So the Jaguars here we all know they're going to take Trevor Laurence it would you have any expectation on what the Jaguars but what would be is considered a successful season, I guess for the Jaguars with the new head coach, Urban Meyer is no stranger to coaching. But now he's in the NFL, and then you're getting what is supposed to be this transcendent player in Trevor Laurence to be your quarterback and I'll start right away. Oh, man, it's It's tough, you think about moving into 17 games this year you have a rookie quarterback, albeit he's the most regard or highest regarded quarterback since luck in Manning. I'm gonna guess. Jacksonville. I would be happy if they mustered out. 67 wins and I saw that Trevor Lawrence is going to be an amazing quarterback. I don't think the record matters as much as Is this guy what we thought he would be, And they also do have five picks in the first three rounds, So you know it and I know it. You're going to get Trevor Lauren. She's supposed to be a stud and you go back to when Indianapolis It's very similar. Talk with Indy did take Andrew luck. You gotta learn from the mistakes of the Colts, and they got a hit on those other four picks because, you know, you look at it and you saw what happened with luck. They didn't really get him a bunch of offensive line. Help that out to you. I helped into solid player. But who else was he throwing the football too? And he based the Colts basically write him into retirement because he couldn't stay healthy because of the malpractice that they had with him. Yeah. No, I mean, if you think about what they have the opportunity at number 25. They should at least be able to get an interior offensive linemen. They have Cam Robinson, who I find to be solid. I think they're their skill. Players are great. You have James Robinson. The fact is Then win last year. Nobody fell in love with them, but they do have some solid great young players. James Robinson, quietly one of the best backs in the league last year, the viscous should not continue in into his second year. I think he's a bad dude, DJ Shark was a pro bowler. So in trouble, Lawrence has some weapons to work with. I don't think the Jaguars or Urban Meyer want to see what happened to Joe Burrow last year. Happens to them this year. They want this man up right through an entire 17 game. Slate? Yeah, no doubt about that, And I'm kind of with you, too. If you go get 67 wins this year, I would view that as a success in your number one for Trevor Laurence. So I think we'll be a stud in this league, and the only way he does not turn out to be a great quarterback is if the organization doesn't surround them with the right pieces once again, just to reiterate. You have five draft picks in the 1st 65 picks of this draft. So there's a lot of capital and a lot of pressure on Trent Baalke and also urban Meyer here and you're number one with this regime together in Jacksonville. The pick is in J. R. I will get to it when they announce it, But we all know it's gonna be Trevor Laurence. It would be crazy if it wasn't fight. We all know that's not going to be the case so We get the other two picks, and we'll do that. In just a second. You expected Zach Wilson. Good to go number two to the Jets, and then at three. That's the big multi million dollar question. What is going to happen with the 40 Niners? What is the biggest storyline to you? Lawrence is going to be talked about a lot, but we all expected this for months and months, months, years and years and years. What's the biggest storyline with this draft? Well outside of Aaron Rodgers. I think you just hit it. It's it's what happens at number three with San Francisco and then also Right after I four with the Falcons, and here's the pick, Let's go to the crash and Roger Goodell in the 2021 NFL draft. Jacksonville Jaguars Select Trevor Laurence. Quarterback. Clemson. Trevor Laurence quarterback Clemson.

Roger Goodell Mike Mayock Trevor Lawrence Mark Davis Khalil Mack Aaron Rodgers Trevor Laurence James Robinson Zach Wilson Mike Florio Russell Wilson Trevor Lauren Andrew Cam Robinson Grudin May Hock Joe Burrow Steward Kovacs Jaguars Urban Meyer

"Dave mentioned it teams could try to resign these players at at cheaper prices but as of right now that's two important pieces of the offensive line that are not there for the chiefs in that was a huge issue for them in the super bowl. So patrick mahomes. Qb seven eight. What do you think they do. Get the doctor l. d. back. So that will. He didn't play last year because he was saving people's lives. He's gone but he's a guard. That's like an offensive lineman that they will have could. I believe they're center is also a free agent. I if they went like what i would say is if they went into the next season with the current offensive line that they have under contract. It would be enough for me to probably not make patrick mahomes number one quarterback but they're not going to okay. I was joking about security seven. Eight sure it is the current they have a very very bad group of offensive linemen compared to the league currently kyle coming back former bears offensive. Linemen will come out of retirement after missing last year. Baltimore left tackle ronnie stanley at a second surgery on his ankle. Hopefully he'll be back ready for training. Camp carolina franchise tackle taylor moton jacksonville franchise tackle cam robinson. Atlanta released left guard. James carpenter minnesota released left tackle riley reef so between minnesota and the giants the giants releasing right guard. Kevin zeitler those zeiler. I would say was probably the best offensive line for the giants in reef is probably the best for the vikings who certainly one of the best so they did not get better by releasing those guys but they also didn't release superstars or anything like that and defensive stuff. Nothing really two major here. The saints released kwan. Alexander engineers jenkins linebacker and defensive. Back tagged marcus williams. A safety arizona released cornerback robert alford and we don't think patrick peterson will be back necessarily so they could have a very different look in the secondary miami released. Kyle van noy and yesterday. Yeah it'd be a heck of an off season because of the cap dropping fifteen million bucks per team. Yesterday i had a lot of fun on paramount. Plus you all need to get paramount..

"Carousel They're gonna be drafting Trevor Lawrence with the number one overall pick Tom Palace. Sarah did pass along today that surgery and Trevor Lawrence's left non throwing shoulder. Just finished and went great, a source told Tom Palace Arrow. Doctors expect Lawrence, the presumptive number one overall draft pick to be 100% for training camp. JP Shad Rick is a senior reporter for the Jaguars. Shaping your soon to be number one overall pick seems like there's no concerns for the Jaguars and Trevor Laurence. No doubt. Hey, thanks for having me first off, and that's just another box check in this offseason, third toward the NFL draft. In my opinion, you saw what happened at Clemson the other day with Urban Meyer there in the middle of the field with Davos, Sweeney 10 yards in front of Trevor the whole day and everybody else in the NFL. That was there is on the sideline. Thanks for taking the private jet to Clemson. Enjoy the Esso Club for lunch. Have a nice flight home, Urban. I think, Send a big message there with that pro day and the fact he talked to Trevor beforehand, they gave him some options of things he could do. It sounded like He could not throw you could throw later. It might back you up closer to training camp or why don't you just come from throw a little bit early? Why not So OK through you look great, and they checked a couple of boxes there. Now the surgery's gone successfully, which is a good sign. And we'll see what the next few weeks haven't store and and his recovery time, he said. The other day, Trevor said it after his throwing that he could throw in what 4 to 6 weeks again. Start throwing the football. I think that'll be the next step. Last time we saw can't miss number one overall quarterback. It was Andrew luck. That was supposed to be this transcendent and we know unfortunately that didn't work out for the Colts is look is now retired. What could the Jaguars maybe learned from what happened in India inside their own division? You better protect him. I mean, if you're going to invest that much in a quarterback, the number one overall pick this this franchise, The Jaguars have never had the number one overall pick. They certainly haven't had a draft pick this high. With a a player of this caliber that they're guaranteed to lock in. So we know it in the division. You better protect a guy like Andrew Luck. You better protect Trevor Laurence. Now, Urban Meyer the other day, said. This is not a blow up offensive line. They actually like some of the pieces here. It sounds like the interior guys are all veteran players from guard to guard center included. The tackles did not play really up to standard last year. They're young, though the right tackle, especially Juwan Taylor was in a second year. He might have taken a step back a little. But there's still confident in his ability, and then the left tackle Cam Robinson was in a contract year. That's the big question. What will they do with him? Do they franchise him for a year and see what happens this coming season? They cut bait and just drafted guy or they go out in free agency and get a veteran for a three year deal to just really secure that left tackle spot. That's the big question. You have to protect that investment. I think that's priority number one. Usually when you walk in as the number one overall pick, it's disastrous situation. I know we just talked about the offensive line. Gee, JP shad Rick, but when you look at it, you got James Robinson there. DJ shark and low viscous should know He's got some weapons to throw two right away. It's not bad. You know there have been, you know. You were things to work with. For some of these teams. Is you reference there? Yes, Those are some good, strong young players that they feel like they can build around. They could still use a tight end. Tyler Eifert was here. He's getting a little bit older now. Well. He came in this past season with the new set of eyeballs on him this year, a new set of decision makers here, they could really use one of those guys as well. But I think you can load up even around those guys you have as playmakers. They do need another running back. James Robinson carried the load. And really all season long There were games or nobody else touched the football running back, you know, and even in the passing game, like he was playing every town some games because some guys were hurt or not available or he's just the tank was full for him. So why not use them? So another running back at some point would be nice to give him a blow here there and another playmaker to an offense and you throw in Trevor Laurence with an offensive line. You're confident then. Guess what you might be able to score some points pretty quickly. Here, take me through what to look for on the coaching staff. Clearly, it all starts with the eyes on Urban Meyer, making that transition from his legendary college coaching career to the pro game. But also on that offense of staff. He has Darryl Bevel and also Brian Schottenheimer. Well, I mean, Darryl levels around the league for a long time as a long history in the NFL worked with quarterbacks back in the not the old old days and Green Bay, but the turn of the century Green Bay days with Brett Far ever then Brett followed him over the Minnesota so he has a track record there. We saw it, Schottenheimer has done In his past in Seattle. They both have worked with young quarterbacks. They've developed quarterbacks. They're two different kind of style offensive coordinators in their past. I think it'll be a nice blend the offensive coordinator and bevel and in the passing game coordinator and Schottenheimer, those guys air. They haven't worked together before. They just missed each other. I think a couple years in Seattle So they're here. Now They're going to craft it, and I'm looking forward to see an urban said the other day. It's the most fun he's had so far in the few weeks. He's been here sitting in on those offensive meetings with Bevel and Schottenheimer. What those three guys cook up. Is going to be fun to watch J P shad drink a few more minutes of the QB carousel. It is the exact Gelb show the Urban Meyer thought process from your understanding of why they did initially bringing Chris Doyle who ended up resigning. Well, I mean is, Urban said he wants the best of the best right and the track record of players going to the NFL from Iowa in that time frame. Pretty high. Um, but obviously there is the stuff that's happened over the last couple years reportedly and, you know, I think they probably could have gone with it. But when the Fritz Pollard alliance comes out with that note and and that all that they did. I think there had to be some type of move there because this is an organization remember a couple years ago? Um, that had issues with the Players Association. When Tom Coffin was in charge here, and they put out a big statement, Coughlin got run away because the ownership still has to work with these groups. No matter what. So I get I think the reasoning one eye because of the track record of success and putting players in the NFL and the string program that has on the field success in Iowa, But I think there's a you know once that was announced from there, Fritz Pollard Alliance, I think it was a done deal. The last thing will ask you. There's all these crazy trade rumors this time of the year. It looks like Trevor Lawrence is going to be the number one overall pick. But do you think there are at least be a conversation between the Jaguars and the Texans in a potential to Shawn Watson, Trevor Laurence Swap? I I'm gonna quote a television show from the nineties. I don't think so. 10. No, no, no. I mean, because you know the same thing We just said they were gonna have the number one pick. They're picking their guy in my opinion. And why would you go help your division rivals? Same time? Yes. You're getting a quarterback doing all that, but they're up against it right now. They haven't been up against it like this since I've been in the league for 10 years, so they've they've been sticking it to the Jaguars. In that time frame is well, I don't you know, you try not to help out your division rivals when you can. And this is one of those times. In my opinion. I think you go with the young guy you building around him. And don't worry about what Houston's deal with. Shapey. Shad Rick joining us breaking down the Jaguars quarterback situation two things on that real quickly. You've got to protect Lawrence. You have the biggest part and the biggest attraction in the house. Now you got to build the foundation around him and in terms of the Chris Doyle thing, it's either two things one. He didn't think it was either a big deal, which Is impossible to believe or two..

"Why don't we shot the Super Bowl is over. But the NFL quarterback carousel is just beginning. You could ask yourself question. Do I feel lucky? "Up. Sorry, Dan. Some stuff happened after you got off the air yesterday. I'm just gonna I got a quick pit of here, joined by the four Dan That's bringing you the biggest guests and best interviews. Not everybody's gonna play with the best team, but you got to make the best of a situation that you helped create. Come on, broadcasting from the Mercedes Man Cave. That was a cheap shot. This is Dan Patrick. Final hour in this Thursday. Dannon the Dan. It's Dan Patrick Show checking patrols. Barkley. I don't know if his opinion is changed. From November 25th when we talked about the possibility of James Harden being successful if traded to the Nets, I think, Theo quote Charles Barkley. Hell, no. I'll talk to Charles joining us here in the moment, 8773 d p show. Email address. Tapia. Dan patrick dot com Twitter handle with DP Show The other big news Aside from Harden Changing teams going to Brooklyn is Urban Meyer is set to become the next head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's one of three coaches in college football history to win at least 85% of his games. Newt Rock Me. Newt Rocky 1 88% of his games at Notre Dame, Frank Leahy, 1 86% of his games at Boston College and Notre Dame. And then Urban Meyer. He's been in four schools. He's 1 85% of his games. Nick. Save in case you're wondering 79% of his games Davos, Sweeney 80% of his games. Three coaches have won both a college national championship in a Super Bowl. Jimmy Johnson, Very Switzer and Pete Carroll. You could give Jimmy Johnson Ah lot of credit for the very Switzer Super Bowl that he won in Dallas because Barry came in and took over for Jimmy. When Jimmy left. And then Pete Carroll. So Urban Meyer. The question is, what kind of GM are you going to hire, and he's going to need that experience GM. Not that he wouldn't hire an experience to you, but You gonna need somebody who knows the landscape here Who's done this before, and I started to look at the roster with Jacksonville. They've got some playmakers there. Yeah. You know, I think Robinson was to find it running back, McLovin, wouldn't you say? He's great, and I'd still not quite sure where he came from Ozzie in Illinois state guy. That bird Yeah. They've got a couple of wide receivers love Ishika. He's a shark. Yeah, but they got the don't They have Alan, Don't They have the pass rusher, but they won one game. I know. I'm just saying it's not just Trevor Laurence that he does have some people there. Now they got rid of Jalen Ramsey and Janek undock way, but they have a lot of cap room there. I'm just curious what urban is walking into. It's not just Hey, you're gonna have Trevor Laurence and that's it. Are you gonna have any anybody else here and it looks like they will Don't they have Robinson? Cam Robinson? Is that the You know the tackle. So you got your your left tackle there, so I don't know. Just taken inventory here, McLovin. Don't yell at me. We had a conversation on this side of the glass. What is it? Urban Meyer quarterback. He seemed to do really well when he had a Tebow or Braxton, Miller or JT Barrett. And I know he had Alex Smith. But he didn't like really have like traditional NFL quarterbacks, and we had a few, but generally he he did well with the underdog guy. I think Trevor is a run pass option guy now that doesn't fit in with J. T. Barrett. But it it's more than Dwayne Haskins. It's closer. Alex Smith, for example. Yeah, Yeah, I could see that. But you got James Robinson. You got DJ Clark? Um they will Cam Robinson. Josh Allen on Edge rusher. So you at least have something there? Make love And that's it. Don't give me the scrunchy face. Well, I don't know. I mean, it's just those players. If your casual NFL fan is there a single player there, you've heard it. Yeah, you've heard Josh Alan, but you think he's a quarterback and buffalo? Yeah, but I'm not here to say, Boy, you should know who these players are. If you don't know who these players are, then you probably will know who these players are. They played well, It's just nobody wants Jacksonville. Like those players did stand out as being respectful NFL players who could develop into something The Jets have a few of them to write the other bad team. Look, I backed in. Seems to be excited if they don't have the number one pick deserving. Meyer, take this job. That's what I hope. Somebody asked later today when they introduce urban Meyer just say urban how important was having the number one overall pick? Better yet, I would say, Would you have taken this job coach if you didn't have the number one overall pick He's gonna dodge it, but that's what I would and and it's a close ended question where it's either Yes or no. He's going to say yes. And then he'll expound upon that. But I don't think you take that job if you don't have the number one overall pick I I just don't Think Trevor Laurence is the reason why Urban Meyer's taking this job. Now there's other things that go with it. He's gonna make 10 year. Hey, will have a say in the roster, and they got some pieces. They're not as much pressure. There's there's less media coverage in Jacksonville. There was at Ohio State. We asked me clubbing. Way site traffic that might interest Charles, too. I'm reading three articles a day, saying Nobody wants to feel that the Eagles job because it's a bad spot to be right now. You know, saying that That's a job that coaches should not want. I've been telling you the last couple of days, I know. And I think people are listening to you and borrowing your ideas may bring in Charles Barkley, TNT inside the MBA analyst. And last time I talked to you about this topic with James Harden, that was November 25th. And you didn't think it could work. Change your opinion? Not at all. I don't think it's gonna work. Uh, I think it's gonna be I don't you brought him in because they weren't sure What was gonna happen with Carl read about him in after the insurance policy. Now I think it's gonna be fascinating. Watching those three guys play together if they all play together. I mean, we have no idea what's going on with Carrie. But no, I don't think it's gonna work it all those other guys don't bring in the diversity. So to the.

"It's just not mobile. He's not mobile. So you just You know, he's a pocket passer. Who's not that durable. But he throws a good ball. It's just you got working around him. You gotta have everything I'll say this for for Jacksonville and Lawrence. You know on paper, you go. Wow, man, he they're going, he said. They're terrible team, and they are but They've got some pieces in place right now. That would make Laurence perfect. I mean that rookie running back James Robinson is a terrific player. They should all to the Colorado receiver had a decent year. Deka teach each Ark who you know. Now he's kind of put on weight Rod since the last few days. He's stronger and better, So they got a pretty good left tackle and Cam Robinson. There's they got some pieces. There were Lawrence won't just be totally naked. I think when, when they moved in front of the Jets, Yeah. He lost his Q rating going from Jackson, New York to Jacksonville, but he may have gained a better chance to succeed on the field. Still the JAG wars until proven otherwise been everything. I'm sit. There obviously is right. But there's still the Jack Morrison to build that team of Nancy Championship game like, three years ago. Yeah, they're second one in franchise history. So maybe you're like, really did that wasn't doing how to kill her deed? No, wait, wait. Not only were they in the a F c championship game. Shouldn't we have a lead? Yeah, Yeah, the one that camp Yeah, but Doug Marone was like I'm afraid to win Scary. It's crazy camp. Right back to the Jaguars. Whenever you're right, there's no way we're still comes. It's like the Marlins and the Rays. All that you're good and all of a sudden like now we don't like to be in good thing. Let's go back to sucking. The most fascinating thing about this year's draft is what the Jets do. That the Jets his side they're going to move on from Donald. Then Donald warned of somewhere else is well and that it's a matter of. Do you believe in Darnel? Did you order you got a handicap? The quarterback thing this year and I'm glad we have Brock on and Greg because they, you know, they're good as good as any. Brock watches both the college of the pro game. You know who who's you gotta make the right call. Whoever we don't know what Which of these guys is gonna be good over the next five years, but Some is good. Some of these guys, you're gonna bottom out some of these guys. You're gonna wind up a Super Bowl rings, and it's like you gotta pick the right one. Tough boy. That's why the especially this draft when you have a choice of those quarterbacks, and again if you believe in Donald, then you need to go get Sul and, you know, short your left tackle spot for a decade and you be good to go. Good to go there if you don't believe in him. You can take one of their two quarterbacks, Then that's left and probably recoup. I don't know. What do you think Rudy? Get for? Ah, Donald may be a late one or a mid to Manderley to somewhere around. What do you get What you get for him? You know, the speculation was at first the third round pick and then with her, And then people started to sing. What was gonna be higher? Barnwell? I think Suggested that somebody could get a second. But, you know, you know, I you know, it's hard to say it's beauty's in the eye of the beholder. I mean, you want Donald is a good option for Teams cap wise because he's only in that what 9 $10 million range instead of the 20 to $30 million range, So if you're the Niner issue is they got a huge core players They want to keep. And they got an expensive quarterback. So can they get a You know how many of these player what does the roster look like with Jimmy? What does the roster look like with whatever rookie and they may make that decision on the quarterback, all based on That you know what you know the two different rosters because that's a could be a dramatic difference. That's $20 million of players difference. They're the enemy. Interviewed with the JAG wars. Today, he finished up an interview the enemy did with the Jets. Yesterday. I would think that Eric the enemy's first question. Anyone who interviews for the Jets had coaching job there. First question will be Do I get to pick and choose what happens with the quarterback situation? If they say no, you move on, because if they make you stick with Sam Donald and you don't want to, that's a real bad way to start your marriage to the New York Jets. Larry's got headlines coming up Next Rock You were three o'clock here on the sports leader.

"The Colts leading Jaguars tend to nothing in the numbers are all Indianapolis eight. First downs to the Jags won 1 27 on the ground. Philip Rivers hadn't have to throw it much 46 yards, five of eight. Taylor's done most of the damage. 18 plays 173 yards for the Colts. 10 plays 32 yards with jackals on Now we go left to right for Jacksonville on third down and four Clinton in the pocket. Nobody opened throws over them and a little diving catches that caught by Tyler Eifert. Yes, it is at the 41 yard line. He got 10. That's a first down good protection that time Cam Robinson. Left tackle Juwan Taylor, the right tackle Excellent job on the edges. And Tyler, right for former Cincinnati bangle had to go. 76 Number, 76 has reported as an eligible receiver number. 76. It's an eligible receiver just took that right off the top blade of the artificial surface here on that's well. Richardson now is playing a tight end position for Jacksonville on the right side. Hogan Bilal. He takes the handoff spin move as he got hit after a gain of a couple Stretches of the form. It will call four yards up to the 45 yard line, so it'll be second down and six for just joining US Indianapolis with attended nothing lead. They needed one of four teams to lose today, and they got their wish with Miami losing the Buffalo Now the jacks after me, the Colts have to win this game to make the playoffs. They also have an opportunity to win the F C South. If Tennessee would lose this afternoon in Houston, second down and six play action fake back to throw Glennon nobody They're going to run a field and It will not be a sack. He makes it back to the line of scrimmage, the 45 yard line, but good coverage. Nobody opened. It will be third down and six. I think the secondary of the Colts is the most improved part of this whole team. I think getting Xavier Rhodes at the corner. He's come back and all roads are closed with Xavier Rhodes on one side and Julian Blackmon, the rookie out of Utah has been fantastic at free safety. All right, third down coming up. They converted on their last one to keep this drive going there at the 45 in their own territory third down and six, got some heat coming blood and got hit. The ball came out of his hand, picked up by the Colts and running down the near left sideline. On that ball was fumbled and out of bounds, So we'll see if this was a forward pass. That ball was picked up in the secondary by three months, Smith and it looks like they're calling it a fumble. The return was 28 yards, that he was finally tackled in. The ball came loose, went out of 12. What was the maniac that came on a glitch that time Darius Leonard. And he rocked my glad he never knew there. He came back. Mr picked up block that time and Leonard came three and he shook that ball loose. Mike Glennon took a heck of a shot to the back side. Really? TJ Cherry picked it up off a hot It was just a good bounce right? There was T J Carey who picked up the ball 38. This might get reviewed that I mean, even when When it got hit. It looked like his arms was kind of going forward. Doug Marone got that challenge flag in his hand. He's just waiting to see if he needs to throw it. So the league is taking a look at this. All change of possessions are looked at. Yeah, on our referee Sean Smith just huddled in a couple of his refereeing crew here this afternoon, waiting to hear from the league while we have a chance. Okay, so they're going to review this, which means we will believe pause here. All right, We will go to a break. Which college produces the best NFL talent?

"A special edition of N._F._l.. Live on deck today at the N._F._l.. Celebrates one hundred season just six weeks away however we are just five weeks away in college. Football Opens It one hundred fiftieth the anniversary so today welcome N._F._l.. You were combining the two worlds to answer age-old question what college produces the best n._F._l.. Talent however I'm Wendy net sand Hutus here you know what's better to be on this panel our expert notice icy expert telling me when Lewis Minute of her panter on the list not on the House for back the quarterback guru he and his brother in a lot of N._F._l.. Games James A lot and Ryan Clark. You see the L. L._S._U.. They are ills college football. L. Is Jonathan Vilma bike. He will join US shortly. He happened to win a National Championship and Oh by the way a super bowl as well coming up on N._F._l.. Live will break down position by position which college produces the best quarterback Oklahoma has the number one overall pick the last two years we have the top ten plays all the N._F._l.. Superstars when they were in college and answering big question which school produces the best all time N._F._l.. Talent we had to ask the players themselves to kick things off. We're the first pick quarterback Oklahoma Viva say Oklahoma Alabama Clemson because proven it is one atop factory the Ohio state highest in Alabama. 'cause I never lost beat out. You really can't understand it into your inside. Sadness programming is all about the you for N._F._l.. Because of Georgia in every aspect but I think L._S._U.. CRESA environment of gray competition and guys is trying to feed off of IT University of Pittsburgh. You Got Dorset. Dan Marina you got Larry. Fitzgerald was not a me show. It's about having everybody involved in working for the Sandal clumps in would cushman he's been doing. He's making people believe everything is possible for House is the best our stop it. Stop stuff well. Let's start shall we with the most players from each college currently in the N._F._l.. Alabama leads the way with V with sixty five players players followed by Ohio state in second place with fifty eight so we're going to debate these schools I in terms of who is best at producing N._F._l.. Challenge here's a tale of the tape on Alabama at Ohio state success since the two thousand draft folks tools I have had thirty one first round picks the most of any school while the Buckeyes have thirteen more total picks in the last twenty drafts but Bama's players have been slightly more successful in the league producing three more pro bowlers than Ohio St Louis Rick. Let's start with with the crimson tide. They're starting eleven if you will offense and defense current N._F._l.. Talent there's any question that these are both very impressive lineups that if Alabama can roll these teams out there right now now. I think they'd win a few games without a doubt. If you look at the offense aside outside of the ball the first thing that jumps out of these starting eleven are the two wide receivers look Julio. Jones is one of the finest athletes in the N._F._l.. For guardless of position he's in the news right now because he's about to get a new contract extension and he's really one of the he's one of the transcendent players at the position that this game the scene Amari Cooper the same way. When Amari came out of college? I remember doing his tape in thinking point honestly as far as catching one pet and run wide receiver. I hadn't seen one as good as him as him. In a long long time on the defensive side look they have fine players throughout the eleven here really that when you get to the secondary and you guys like Eddie Jackson Landon Collins I mean these guys are disband tastic players on the front dont`a hightower our multiple time superbowl winner. These are great great players right here. Make our way to Columbus shower of the to Ohio state you go to the offense side of the football. Look the first thing that jumps out without a doubt as Ezekiel Elliott because if he's not the best running back in the N._F._l.. He would be considered a top three running back in the N._F._l.. Wide Receiver Michael Thomas Really someone who was unheralded coming out of college. He's a tremendous tremendous. Pro will probably be the highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. In short time then move over to the defensive side of the ball this this is where really this football team really kind of jumps off the board starting up Front Joey Bosa Cam Hayward those are two of the best defense alignment in the N._F._l.. Right now and then when you look down there at the Secondary Malcolm Dyson Dinkins Denzel Ward Marshon Lattimore doesn't let's get much better than that. All right Jonathan Vilma made his way again surly qualified to weigh in on this discussion. Look I mean there's a shortage of talent with either of these squads. It's almost ridiculous factory and a lot of ways both of these institutions but let the debate again a Ryan Clark. You can't pick L._S._U.. Just yet but when you look at this group what stands out L._S._U.'s better than both of these things we're gonNA get to that. We're supposed to be talking outlets. Let's be honest. There's amazing players. Neither one of them have a quarterback right before proven yet though little I mean why don't we always have to see something first before we can get you well Ray Richardson running back right you saw God compare that with you why time gentlemen we're GonNa play Nice Got Ninety minutes ago. You're the Glenn Difference from every other position that we're looking at okay fair enough now back to you Louis. It is a production results oriented industry. Is it not so it is fair to say seeing something. Does one believe they'll be success won't sure but I mean we're we'll see this is kind of like a combination of what they have done in college. What some of these guys have done in the pros in some of it's a little bit of projecting about what they're gonNA continue to do in the pros? That's how I'm going to expand it to that all right so at quarterback quarterback Dwayne Haskins I believe right now. There's no comparison as far as I don't care what A._J.. McCarron did it Alabama cows tape. Those Wayne has close exact Haskins is going to be a fine football player. What's going to happen to him? Really is going to be more predicated on what Washington redskins overall due to him then what he does to himself. I firmly believe that as far as these rousers overall look the wide receiver position Julio Jones Amari Cooper. Julio Jones's the standard if you go and look N._F._l.. For an offices and look in their scouting books books every team has a standard at every position that they put for scouts the suit for as far as whenever when their scouting people polio is going to be on that list for for many many teams he's about as good as it gets so skill positions at Alabama are awesome. The defensive players at Ohio State is what stands out for me as far as their front seven is concerned particularly their defensive line and their secondary Denzel Award Marshon Lattimore. You tell me a team that wouldn't take those two young men right now and startled. Let me ask you a specific question since you spend some time as an analyst watching these players at the collegiate level if you had to choose either of this group Alabama Ohio state who's players really got better or who took a bigger step forward than you anticipated when they got to the N._F._l.. Out To you to dance your last part no neither standout. They're pretty equal because watching these guys watching Jonathan Allen he played okay well Dante. I'll tell you knew who is going to be tremendous player defensive player C._J.. Moseley's same thing and then you go to the other side and you look at Joey Bosa Nick Bosa Darren like Malcolm Jenkins. I play with Malcolm Jenkins in in New Orleans knew he was going to be a study. He's Philistine but what is surprising how fast or House they defense is. I did not realize how fast defensive you think big ten you didn't big Brawley guys not so fast but these guys can move joey. Bosa also can move nick volks in Darren League. We know the Burner Malcolm J. Denzel War March. I mean that is a very very talented athletic fast fast defense. I thought I was going to jump in your rookie. I think that's a great question Wendy about as far as what teams teams have players that have gotten better pros. You look at Ohio state this look at their offense. In particular Michael. Thomas was a good wide receiver to hire Stayton. He's fantastic now. He's GonNa be highest paid wide receiver in the N._F._l.. Andrew Norwell most people wouldn't even know Andrew Norwell well what from Andrew Doorbell he right now just judge Moore Norwell can't open open some N._F._l.. Spectacular and even on the defensive side of the ball. I didn't think Marshon lattimore. I've liked Marshon Lattimore at Ohio state. I didn't love Marcet. He has taken his game to another level as well in the really own Alabama side you know how I feel about Alabama I feel nick and what he does and how he builds his program but really focus on their offense align that was just look okay and think about that question. Wendy Wendy asked how many players have gotten better how many have continued to improve Andre Smith may have his best days at Alabama. Dame's carpenter has really been good pro Brian Kelly the jury still out he could be a he's a good player. He's GonNa play already in Indianapolis D._J.. fluker was he ever ever really that guy that dominant guy no. He hasn't been Cam Robinson. Have you seen story so it's interesting because they're preventing people have been many people who've hit Alabama and said they get the best out of their players at Alabama. Maybe it's good discussion legal where people go by what teams there drafted so we look at Michael Thomas he falls into a place where he needs an accurate passer and he's one of the most accurate passers all the time also about the place you land in ashore and how they develop you ask Josh Rosen he absolutely he knows that all too well. I ten Hasselbeck. The whole point of this is to pick one of our producers here a little bit we talked. I'm going Alabama mainly change quarterbacks. Yeah I think looks great point about the offensive line at Alabama because so many of them when you look at them just in terms of body type you're like Oh my God look at those guys body type wise but like I don't know that some of those guys have come in and be like Oh and they got a whole lot better. We're obviously splitting hairs here on this ongoing Alabama Lewis Sorry Nick. Oh from a hustle change your mind or did you stick the way said one because I don't care if between Haskins hasn't played. I think he's I think he's in the saints. Stratosphere is A._J.. McCarron so I like that I liked it their offense of line one of the things that talked about how they develop those guys on the defense aside but they're fun four plus their secondary this going with them Ryan Clark you have to pick one while I was brought here for one reason in one reason only when the Knicks because everyone knew it my answers it would be and what Tim Hasselbeck has proven is. You don't need a quarterback. That's really he's GonNa be Ohio state in Alabama that don't have quarterbacks guess what we don't need a quarterback back and by the way you don't want our first off was good enough for Bill Belichick your boy to draft him as Tom Brady's heir-apparent draft. We thought they they went to L._S._U.. Because this guy has what they decided to we throwing the ball all around the field Andrew Whitworth he's played a thousand years. There's a Guy Jerry go look at the Neil hundred may has like negative two percent body fat Michael Broncos out. There aren't key. We gotta wait on them but it's are are you at the back of position. That's all we got mad. I gotTa get here all even have to work conviction when you spoke scissors. I'm sorry I just so tim. I love your twenty. Two question your toughness Whoa West I've seen because as you know what fair enough he's at Alabama alum landon dare you wait into the circus that we've created. But what do you have to say about this. Whole debate ain't Ryan got some good good good stuff going on say? I wouldn't question his toughness at all. I don't know why you questioned Ryan toughness. I saw him not got a lot of Alabama's always number one no matter Corolla tyrod. Let me ask you a serious question. You know obviously nick. Sabin is a hall of Famer one of the best ever coach this game but specifically what does he do that has allowed such historic success at the university. Steve Alabama <hes> as a coach he speaks for as a coach. He represents his players as players coach. I would say he makes all this coach. All the players are on the him as a player as a father <hes> <hes> and as a as many tried to teach us they'd be a man and a great play all at one time you know so he does it all leading. Can you please tell the people why you are now better that you have trusted your career training with the guy from L._S._U.. Hey right you agreed trying to grow been gone on gone for years
