"Only you, man, only you. Okay, so cam Jordan was the one who did that. The other cam, Jordan, used the other one who did that. So then what do you do? Stay in lanes. I'm serious. How does one make sure that Lamar doesn't go off and start spinning around and then you watch him go the other direction. What about that? Yeah, I mean, I definitely think that, you know, we've seen success against Lamar when they're able to keep them in that pocket sort of collapse around him. And not let him escape. But at the same time, you know, Lamar's faster than you think he is, but she's already fast. Stronger than you think he is, is you see him duck out of some stacks he had some miraculous escapes over the last two games and extend these plays that you as a defender, you hate to see it. I'm sure as a fan or an office person you love to see it. I hate to see it. So again, it's going to be it's going to take the front 7. I don't think it is a front four situation. To try and contain Lamar. I've got Cameron Jordan here three time all pro. Defensive lineman of the New Orleans Saints here on the rich eisen show. It seemed last week it all clicked on your side of the ball, cam, Jordan, not to say that you hadn't earlier this year, but when you toss a shutout on somebody like you did on the Raiders last week, did you guys find a groove last week that you think you might be able to just leave yourself in for the rest of the year and lock it in? Cam? Yeah. Absolutely. I think, you know, I said it earlier this year. I said, if we have to play our best football and when we can string together a game on all in all phases of saint's football, we're going to be in a much better place. I think special teams did their job did a great job this last game. I think offense to the phenomenal job and defense handle business. And what you did see, which we hadn't really done earlier this year, was when the turnover battle. You and the turnover battle cat puts us in a way better place than when you lose it. Yes, indeed. Yes, indeed. And then the fact that nobody's running away with this division. I mean, you're right there. After the three and 5 star, you were literally sitting right there. In this division right now. Analytics keep bringing that up. Me. I'm a worry about trying to defeat the man in front of me and keeping Lamar Lamar Jack in the pocket. What we can't do is keep looking at how close we are to something via CC stay looking, peeking over. You can sort of lose graphs of what's in front of you. Or the state folks unless they're trying to vote. Or the fact that you know the division is still there. Normally, again, when you were two and 5 walking into a game last week, taking on the Raiders, now you're three and 5, and you could keep on keeping on stacking them, you could actually wind up hosting a home playoff game, whereas in other previous years you might not have that. For instance, take a look at Green Bay right now. They have the same record as you, but don't really seem to have that path to winning a division that you do. So that's kind of why I bring that up. Cam Jordan. Yeah. You say so, but there's still a ten games left. So there's still a lot of football left. We can't plan again. We can't plan what's going to happen. And I've seen, you know, you've seen one more after things happen with Aaron Rodgers over the course of his career. So I would put past aron to get back in the fight. Now, we'll need to win the division. That's something that probably may or may not happen. You have potential. When you have back to back MVP like Aaron Rodgers, you have that type of potential. When they've got things to work out, not worried about the green yellow team. I'm worried about the black and gold team. Okay. And we got things we're working out currently. So as long as we keep on playing the way we did this last week, I think we will be in a far better place to engage from now. Okay, and the red rifle. It's either starting QB there now? Would you say? Jameis Winston, it doesn't matter if you know I'm going to focus on our defense. And if they say double RAs is QB one, the great. If they say Jameis Winston, is QB one. You know, either way, I think that our defense, the way he played, I think there's chances in places that we can take advantage of and hold our own Indian everybody. Last thing for you is how does this compare to previous seasons for you? It's a little bit off compared to the successful years that you've been enjoying there in New Orleans. What is your, what is your approach in a leadership role for a team that still has a lot in front of it? The division. And as you mentioned, half a season. Cameron Jordan. Yeah, I think that there is definitely a I wouldn't even say a ship, but there's a realization that each one of these games there has to be complementary football. There has to be the same mindset that we can win these games when we work together. I also think that it's a shift from our differences mindset where we want it to be the main fighting force of the team to where as you saw that game when we are when we are dominant and when we can take advantage of where situation, that's where we're going to win. So if we can take advantage of all situations in every game, it's going to put our offense in a better place. But we're going to continue doing what we're doing defense focused on being that sort of hopefully down the game. If we could finish, you know, every game this season next ten games and nobody scores the touchdown. You can't tell people we're not going to the playoffs. But those are probably unrealistic dreams that think that ten games in, nobody's going to put any points on us. But we will go on every game knowing that we have to be able to stop somebody's office and win their turnover differentials. That turnover differential has been key to wins and losses this year and is direct correlation of those wins and also. So we have to be able to create more turnovers for our office to give them more opportunities. And then man, it just gets loud and that building on a Monday night, a whole city's got the whole day to just get ready for it. It's a pretty special spot. It really is, you know? You think about it. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it's loud. It's loud as it needs to be this past Saturday. What is that? Like a 1230 game? That's right. You can imagine when the lights are brighter, you know, the game is more impactful, it's Monday night and it's the only game on. You can't tell me who that nation, you know, that black and gold is just going to be out here rocking the entire stadium. I mean, we're the best probably fan base. You're going to see in stadium. Now you could say you're going to say Seattle's loud sure. It's been there played there. You're going to say Kansas City, second or third, been there played there. But that's what they're going to do. They're going to fight for being the loudest stadium by second or third. There's a clear cut once and we're not number two. You know what, man, you could say other places are really loud, but there's only one place where people can drink that swing oil all day and then put on a Pope outfit and go crazy. And it's yours. That's it. That's the only one. That's the dome field advantage for sure. Have a great one. Cameron Jordan always enjoy catching up with you man, and I look forward to settling it on Monday night and watching you take on the ravens. Cam didn't come our way, so I'm still cam. I'm counting Tam Jake at the end of it. I appreciate you. You got a cam Jordan everybody right here on the rich eisen show. How many people are going to tell me I'm not calling them by their right names over the last few weeks here on the program. Is that what he just did right there? Like don't call me Cameron call me cam. Is that what did you say or it might take in the wrong way? I can't tell you. Help me out, Chris, because I'm just, I'm all turned around. I think Richard, I think it's fine. Thank you. I'm a little

"I don't know how many times this gentleman has been on our program. A lot. A lot. Tons. One of the most. Because he's not only great at what he does, but he's so enjoyable to talk to and he'll always be honest with you. It always shoots you straight and he's very pleasant. He is very pleasant, although I imagine trying to block him not. And or if you think the team that you chose to win the AFC west is feeling some momentum and you feel like they're going to potentially build on it and then he's part of the team that just absolutely spanks them and shuts them out. I didn't like that at all. But he's still one of our favorites. He's Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints on the Mercedes Benz Vance phone line getting set to take on a guy that we spoke to yesterday in Lamar Jackson on Monday Night Football on Westwood one joining us here on the program. How are you Cameron? Oh man, just like I said, just searching for the right solution to the problem that the ravens folks. We can do that. We can try and start stacking some wins. Do you want to just jump right into game conversation? Is that what you want to do? You want to do that? I mean, I'm just getting out of practice. So that's where I'm at right now, you know? I'm game focused game forward right now. Okay, so you just step off the practice field and what are you focused on? What are you focused on, Cameron? The former MVP that is Lamar Jackson plus Gus Edwards, and of course you've got Mark Andrews, you know, when he's healthy, he's probably why receiver one, but you're going to say he's a tight end, but he's sort of why we keep learning over there. So you mentioned Lamar first and obviously there's reason for that. How much rest do you need leading up to a week where you know he's going to make you run much more than you might be used to on a football field? I mean, you know, I feel like we're always hustling. We're always ready for a type of quarterback that poses these problems with his feet. I mean, we just saw Kyler Murray, you know, even we saw a little bit of Joe burrow take off. We fake these quarterbacks with him. But I mean, this is going to prep us as well because beyond beyond the former NFL MVP in Lamar Jackson, you know, we have the Philadelphia ego somewhere somewhere this season. So this is something that we have to lock in with. Okay. It's not even, you know, it is what it is. We have to be ready to play these types of quarterbacks. Who's the guy that makes you run around the most done? Who is that? Is it Lamar? Have you? Have you faced? I mean, he's not in the league anymore. So I don't have to worry about him. He's absolutely Cam Newton used to run from sideline to sideline. He didn't kick off for another 5 ten, 15, 20 yards downfield. But you can't, you know, troll on him when you beat him, like you used to, right? That's what you used to do, right? Didn't you do that? Do you know? Once upon a time, then you sent him wine one time, didn't you send him some Jordan wine? Didn't you do that once? I sent off, hey, if you want to come over to the science, you know, I'll be Cameron and you could be Kim, you know?

"Got to touch him. Get back up again. There we go. At the giants, you throw records out, but Philadelphia usually wins those games, right? I'm worried at Chicago. Week 17, 18, they got the one seed wrapped up. These guys are. You guys are resting. That could be Christmas Eve. Dallas. Could you imagine they walk into Christmas Eve in Dallas at 14 and out? Oh my God. That's going to be the storyline with each passing week. And then you'll hear Jalen hurts say nobody talked about it, and we were two and 5, so you shouldn't talk about our record now, and it'll be kind of be like, yeah. Certainly if tonight, there is a pivotal game 5 win at home and the Phillies take one step closer to another need to grease light poles in the city of Philadelphia. You know, this is it. Honestly, the second half of the NFL season, that strikes me right now as a story, because I believe you're going to see an 8 no team emerge tonight. Look out below for levy and the rest of that team is Brandon cooks is not playing. They said that he hadn't done enough this week to practice. It's just absurd. It's absurd. It's not like there's padded practices for Thursday night games. Brandon cooks forgot about the offense that he was in just four days ago. He didn't want to go to the walk through. Which is not in his right mindset right now. I bet he's just like losing his mind like really? I'm still here. Dallas wanted me. I couldn't go there. Green Bay, what are they doing? That's an $18 million figure for next year. Nobody wanted to pay, I guess. So that's tonight. It's all about Philadelphia and we're all rent payers this evening. Let's go. I want to thank today's guest Nick friedel and then of course Lamar Jackson. Tomorrow, cam Jordan, the cheetah tyreek hill and Joe mantegna in studio. It could be information to change your life forever, or the something you should know podcast could just be something interesting. Ramit Sadie, talking about being rich. The old definition of rich had a lot to do with how much money you accumulated, but it wasn't about how to spend it, it was more about how to get it, but okay, so once you get it, what do you do with it? In our culture, everybody tells you how to save, but nobody teaches you how to spend it. Something you should know, wherever you listen.

"Is going to be billing, if you will, for buffalo. How are they going to follow up what we saw last year with another two steps forward? We've seen him in an AFC championship game, and then we saw him in a divisional playoff game, losing Kansas City, and if Kansas City is less than and people's minds, then the door is wide open for the Buffalo Bills. Wide open. Josh Allen is an MVP candidate, Gabriel Davis could be a number one in number twos clothing. I think James cook is remarkable. Von Miller is now there, and the punt God won the job, shocked the world. Matter Isa whenever the bills don't do well on offense. Somehow are three or 6 in outed or do have their backs to their goal line. He'll just flip the field right around. Even their punt unit will be fascinating to watch this year. The coach everything is set up for the Buffalo Bills and the bills mafia to have the season for the ages and every single game from start to finish. They're going to be opening up in the home of the defending Super Bowl champs. They are taking on obviously their own division opponents. They are visiting Cincinnati on a Monday night after the calendar turns January 2nd. They're playing on Thanksgiving. Again at Detroit, they're playing in front of the nation against New England, the following week, they're going to be on national television their first two games, they're playing the Sunday Night of Halloween weekend against Green Bay, lookout, man. They're back in Kansas City, again, at Baltimore, where it's Alan versus Lamar fascinating matchups. All of them, including at Miami, my top two most fascinating teams are playing twice this year.

"So the script is flipped, so to speak on that front is what you're saying. I'm not mad. I mean, you know, come two minute drill. They still don't really call sex, but that's all coaches. How does Jameis look to you then? How's he looking? Jameis, jamison, you know, looking healthy. And if he can play like he did at the beginning of last year, we're going to be in a lot of great positions to put ourselves in a winning spot. I guess then guarantee I can't guarantee 17 wins, but I'm a gun for all 17. My got it. I hear you. And then Michael Thomas, does he look similar to you to the kindergarten Mike? Michael Thomas that can let us know about? Cam? Absolutely. I'm a continue calling him can't guard Mike. I mean, when he's at practice when he was against Green Bay, he was doing everything that we were doing from a year and a half ago. I mean, Mike T Mike D healthy is still unstoppable for me. And then I had your former teammate Malcolm Jenkins here in studio and I asked him now that he's out of the game about why the saints are able to perform defensively against Tom Brady in a manner that others have trouble doing. Why are you so successful? And he talked about the match ups of the corners just are in the favor of the saints and that helps you and the rest of your teammates get home. Do you think you can replicate that? Coming up this year? I can work off that for sure. It's not that it's Tom Brady and his all star cast that keep getting rebuffed and added to every year. You know, we talked about the ad, but they have Mike Evans. They had Chris Godwin, they had a ruffle gaze. They bring in Julio Jones. I mean, I don't know how much more of a star studded cast it can become, you know, they add Kyle Rudolph akeem hicks on defense. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who's a part of the team. We're focused on the New Orleans Saints. So the saints have always been the frontrunners of the conference in my mind. Oh, it doesn't matter if it's Atlanta Tampa. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, if Drew Brees had decided to go be a part of the team. The saints as a whole are geared to try and win this division each and every year. So it doesn't matter if the opponent. So how good do you think you can be? Serious, real, real talk here. How good do you think this seemed to be? This year? I need to see, I need to see live bullets before I, you know, before I make these assumptions that before I say we were going to go 17 to no. But I mean, I think that every fight that we go into, I think we have a great chance to win them. And then two, three games and situation, we'll have a callback. And I can tell you confidently how well I feel about the team. Okay. And I definitely like what I see at practice. How much longer do you want to play? What are you thinking about here? I wouldn't go Tom Brady on you, you know? I'm not going to be playing into my 50s. But I definitely think, you know, I definitely think that I've got about 5 years now. I'm a big guy. Okay. And I thought when you said you're not going to be Tom Brady, that means you're not taking a couple weeks off during training camp. I thought that's what you meant by that. Oh, no, no, no. With all due respect, I think somebody like Tom Brady could show up week one and do just fine. I agree. I've seen other players have seen Aaron Donald. We will show up week one and go for 12 and a half seconds, and it's easy. When a vet knows how to play, especially when you're one of the best ever play your position, I think that training camp is for younger players. They're younger guys. Yeah. I thought maybe you were hoping you would show up week three. So you'd have to see them week two. You know what I'm saying? Who's behind him? Yeah. They might delay. They might delay the game just. And you're going to London too. You ready for that one? Have you played in London yet? Have you done that? Yeah. Jay Cutler and when this part of Miami. Why are you going to call him out like that? Miami. We're going to call him. It's rare to ever goose egg somebody, you know? So Tom Brady and Jay Cutler up there for me. Okay. You just said those names in the same sentence. That just happened. Cam. Wow. It's the two games I can recall that, you know, defense tell them to not cut them. Okay. All right, cam Jordan. Are you doing a podcasting again? Are you not? Are you out of that car? Trust levels, season three, me marketing room. We've got phenomenal guests. I just name drop a couple that you guys might mow drivers Landry. It's on your team. Okay. James Winston. Is that your book on your teammates? Is that what you're saying? Your book and your teammates? What are you doing? Okay. He's on The Bronx. Okay. Yeah. You definitely got some got some heavy hitters this press level season three. We finished up and we were geared up towards dropping it and next couple of weeks I think. You know, here in California, cam, you've spent some time here in California, right? Here in California, people say people say, oh yeah, I'll do your podcast and don't mean it. And then there are people who say, oh yeah, I'll have you on my podcast and then they don't mean it. I mean it when I say I'll do your podcast. I'm beginning to wonder if you don't mean it when you say y'all, I'll have you on mine. I'm beginning to season three. And I'm beginning to wonder if I'm really somebody who can be trust on the level that you are putting out there. I'll be honest. On the biggest levels of trust, you know, we gonna eventually get there. I just feel like, again, we have to have like a Pro Bowl all pro level caliber of the podcast before we go to one of the, one of the great. This is rich eyes on the show which I mean, we understand who you are. See, this is now. This is, again, another Los Angeles thing. So you don't want me on your podcast. It's okay. You could just come out and say it. Just say, you know what, rich, you don't fit. You don't fit. You could say it. No, no, no, no. We're never going to say that. I want to say we are reaching that territory where I'm feeling like I'm being able to come on over. I feel like we've had the amount of guests guys like Brandon Marshall who are hit everything that you need to. We've talked to some legends and now we need another legend. Cam Jordan, I thank you for the time. You'd be well, let's do this again soon, brother. You're the best. Absolutely appreciate you having me on. That's cam Jordan here on the rich eisen show. Well, I've kept Jordan dude. That guy's just awesome. And you know what TJ, it's one of those things like when he's done playing football, which he said in 5 years, but let's be honest, he could keep playing probably as long as he wants. You're just excited for what he's going to do next. Is he going to get into our world? Is he going to have his own show? Is he going to get on TV? Is he going to do games? Is he going to be an analyst? Is he going to be in studio? Skye is totally the limit for this dude and I just love when he comes out. Yeah, he's got that personality that just whether you're a saints fan or not. You just kind of draw in the camera, you know? And we've gotten to know him a little bit and he's got an ill sneaker game which you and I appreciate. But he's that guy who maybe like Strahan, maybe Gronk, you know, his career after football, it's going to be fun and it's going to be. He could go acting too. Why not? Yeah. He had me at Jay Cutler.

"Actor out there I said, I don't have that echoed yet. I need that in my life. Do you want that? DK Metcalf says he's taken acting lessons on his off days. Did you know that? I thought he already did that with some of the penalties he asked for. Can't Jordan everybody has entered the chat. Cam Jordan presented the chat on the rich Eisenhower. Okay, let's get into it. Then who's the worst actor in the NFL? On the field, what do you got for me? I don't know. Look, it's got to be office in line, right? They hold so much and then they always look at the ref bewildered when they actually get a holding call. That's true. Or the worst ones are the ones who raise their hands like I didn't do it, which is an indication that they absolutely did it, right? The offensive line that hold and then put their hands up like, I didn't do it, which is a way of saying, look at me, I just held. I might have to take that role too 'cause you know, after you hit a quarterback once you've reached the ball, you know, you don't even get .1 seconds anymore. So after you tap and you throw your hands up immediately like I didn't do it, I didn't mean to. Please forgive me. I don't know. But that doesn't that call attention to what you just did, cam. Maybe you should just, maybe you should just be casual about it, you know? Like, yeah, I did it. We had a lot more smooth about it. Yes. If you're smooth about it, that means they're not going to see it. They might have been hit, I don't know, he put his arms up like he didn't do it. I'm throwing a flag. I think you might be calling attention. Yeah, see, in my mind, it's like, hey, I'm letting you know that I realized I might have taken a step too far and I'm just I'm asking for leniency with the hands thrown up. I could have murdered the quarterback, but I let him go. You know what? I'm also having this conversation with you, Cameron Jordan, is because I'm trying to, I guess, refurbish my reputation as understanding line play after I went all in on Twitter saying the hit on kayvon thibodeau by thaddeus moss was illegal, and he should be fined and suspended. And it was a perfectly legal hit. What did you think of that hit on kayvon thibodeau, cam Jordan? Yeah, I mean, I mean, I say it's a one of those bad positions being as decent event. He shot up the field, tried to readjust, didn't know exactly what he wanted to do with the tight end. And that's the second of indecision that luckily I think he's his body is resilient enough where he was able to bounce back. It was just like I said, that second decision can always put you in a bad position. So what do you do when you were in that position when you see a destroy Titan? You got to match fast. You got to be able to level with it. It depends on what he was doing if he tried to keep leverage in box box to tight end. He just got lowered those pads. Let's be real. At this event, we've got a lot of chances to be hit and be pulled on. So yes. You have to be ready for it at all times. It looked like he was not ready. So that's what I'm also gleaning from the conversation over the last 24 hours. Is people are saying, certainly, people who were play defense for a living are saying, that's what thaddeus moss is coached to do. That was the play that he was supposed to make. And thibodeau was just a young buck who didn't handle it properly. Is that accurate? Like I said, that's indecision. Whether you're in a box it or you want to spill it or you want to match pads or you want to drop the opposite arm. It depends on what you're being coached, but kind of figure out what you're going to do. That doesn't happen, you know? So and luckily, it's a priest's game and it didn't lead to severe injury. So he's got a chance to correct them and take some future. Cameron Jordan here on the rich eisen show and before we move on to another topic, specific to your team, I did have Mike Pereira at the current rules analyst on Fox and former head of NFL refs on to explain why that is a legal block. And that the competition committee is beginning to think otherwise, would you be fine if that block was made illegal in the NFL? Cam? No, no. It's just football. I want most of these hits to still be there. I mean, they keep making this closer and closer to a two hand touch game, you know? What is it? Babies can't cut if you're in the box. You've got off the line and pulling anymore. That's part of the game. Now, you know, some of the aspects can go, we're going to talk about high loads versus a defensive lineman. I mean, that's one of those things that definitely should have done. But some of the things you have to be as an athlete, you have to be able to take this risk in terms of the game. I mean, it's football. I grew up watching Reggie white and out concussions since office of life. You know, I was excited about, you know, you've seen Chris doleman and John Randall out there mauling all the linemen. That was fun of it. Now you have to be aware that you can't have office alignment head, jerk back on a bull bull rush out, we can't even really call it a boys anymore, on a power move. You know, the game is a little bit softer than it was back then. Cam Jordan all pro defensive end of the New Orleans Saints here on the rich eisen show. All right, so now how are things different in the post Sean Payton era Dennis Allen era for you in training camp and getting ready for the season, cam? What's the difference? In terms of training camp, we are still in New Orleans and outside in the heat. So there's not much changing from day to day. I mean, we were blessed to go up to Green Bay and practice against them for a couple of days and see one of the greatest to do it. Lace it up with Aaron Rodgers and I think that was great work for our one verse there won the first couple of days and then that 65° in August I was upset about I'm like where is it this cold in the middle of August? Where I'm from in Arizona it'll never get this cold and out here in New Orleans is not a chance to be this Coke. So, you know, we had a rude awakening when we went back to New Orleans and it was 95 to a 100% humidity again. Well, I guess I should have been a little bit more specific with my question as opposed to getting the weather report is how is how is Dennis Allen different from Sean Payton? I'm just gonna hit the nail right on the head. How is he different? I mean, I mean, I've got a defensive minded head coach. You know, now we're in a defense comes out and beats down on the offense. He knew you were going to like reset the tempo there. You're going to have to reset whatever phase we're in, whether it's rent period past period. If it gets too out of hand, you start to period over. Now, you know, we don't start peers, though. These challenges promise towards the next period.

"Somebody that I think the team gravitates around and they already have strong leaders in place. De Mario Davis cam Jordan now put an entire Matthews Landry in. They've got a ton of support veteran support to where all of those parts won't be on Jameis. And so he can focus on his play. And I think in a situation like that, he'll have success. And as if you needed more buckeyes on the team, I mean, they go get a lava. He's really, really good. Yes. They got a lot of weapons that, you know, and they love the drug draft buckeyes. I know that. I know that. Did you get a sense that Sean Payton was thinking of Tapping out? No. Last year? No. Any good coach is not going to, you know, you're not going to show signs that your coach is getting things about quitting. That probably wouldn't bode well in locker room. But yeah, I think it was a little bit surprising, but, you know, you being a game long enough is not many things surprising. Right. And so, all right, and then what about your other old spot, Philadelphia? And Jalen hurts the question about whether he can take another step forward. I do believe in him. I like him. I like him a lot. What do you think of what the eagles are building? And their ability to maybe overtake the cowboys in that division. What do you think? I think the difference that you're seeing between the cowboys and the eagles is the cowboys have their franchise players that they're building around. And the question is, can they win a championship with those players? But every year, they're pretty much in a running, they're a competitive team and can win games with the people they have. I think with the coaching change and just some of the loss of a lot of the veterans and the eagles locker room, the stability of that culture isn't there yet. And a lot of that is now trying to follow on the quarterback and that's really not, it's a lot different than how I describe what it says locker room is. Where you have all of these kind of other leaders who can who can really develop the entire team develop a winning culture and it's not on just the quarterback to determine if we want to lose. And that seems to be the rhetoric coming out of Philly. And so I think it's one of those things that he's got the talent. It's how long is that leash and how much support are y'all willing to put into it? They said they've been all in. And he's definitely got to prove it. But it's a different situation. It's not like he has the he's in a situation that, you know, where he can thrive and shine, he's got to really put it on his back and lead that team. And so it'd be interesting to see they're in a tough, it's always tough in the NFC's, but it's always competitive. Every year flops has never like they have to be two years, three years out before they can compete every year. They will be able to compete for the eso. We'll see. Well, I know and again, I know you kind of smiled before the stack that I had mentioned. I do it every time with you, is that you're the only guy to have beaten Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in super bowls. You did Peyton Manning, you beat him back in his day when he was with the colts and then you took care of Brady when he was when you were with the eagles. In that respect with Brady, what from your perspective has the saints been able to do since he's gotten to Tampa. And just absolutely, krypton, what are the saints able to affect and might be able to do it again with Brady coming back one more time for Tampa, do you think? Well, I think Malcolm is not really, it's not much to do with Tom, actually. The saints defense, especially the secondary, was built to beat Tampa Bay. And so that rivalry in that kind of competition was there before Tom got there. And so when you look at, okay, those two years you had myself matched up with grant. That was a good matchup. You have a lot of more or Mike Evans. It's a great matchup. CJ Garner Johnson's in the slot was on AB or God one. That's a great matchup. On the other side was adibo or jinora Jenkins, who can match up with any third receiver. And so there's not like Tom Brady's whole game is take advantage of matchup issues. There are none when they change play the temporary Buccaneers. And I think that one year where we beat them twice and then they beat us in the playoffs. Yes. They won that game off of running the ball and they're defense taking the ball away. And I think that to me is when Brady tries to win that game, throwing it, that plays right into the saint's hands. So that game that style of play, Brady has to win that game with his left hand. And I think that's what makes that match up so interesting and so difficult for him because what he does best what works every single week is not going to work against the same. So you're not there, Gronk's not there now. They just got Kyle Rudolph, which makes you think maybe I found that funny. Well, the doors closed to Gronk. I don't know about that. Like around October, more Brady calls Gronk around October, November, and he says, yes, they might find a few reps for him. Right. So, and Godwin's hurt, so do you think the way things are constituted? And obviously now, tyron Matthew there, the advantage is still towards the saints when they match up in week two and whenever they do match up. Because that might be the NFC south in a nutshell with due respect. The fact that they have to start off with two conference opponents to start a game. Those two first two weeks are going to, they're going to show up later in the year. And so I think those are going to be really important games. And I think a lot of it is going to come down to less about Tom Brady against the saints defense and more so what will the saints offense look like against the Tampa Bay defense? Because I've seen, you know, we've seen the explosiveness of the things. And we know how that has been. We want to know if that's going to continue. But that Tampa Bay defense is the wild card. When they show up, they make things happen. And so I think that's really the matchup that I'm looking at. I think it's going to be pretty much the same from the saints defense in Tampa Bay's offense. That'll be a good battle, don't make plays, but that defense is going to match up well. It's going to be against the saints offense in the Bucs defense who can take care of the football and create those plays and manage that game the best. It's great to see you. It really is great to see you. Don't be a stranger, certainly, if you don't mind, I'll reach out to you just check in with you during the season. If you'd like to chop it up, anyway. I'm acting all cool and calm and collected now. Around October 10th, you'll be just like if I find myself doing drills in the backyard. I just come here. Anytime.

"You gotta go through me. Go meeting on this team. TJ wants trick the ball away. Taking down again it was Bozo and it's miles Garrett again. Sweetest of all time on defense. So glad you're with us here on NFL live. What an incredible photo of me to climb. There are perfect for this segment. Nina's back, ready to give us her top 5 defense of units in the NFL heading into the season. Mina let's count them down, starting with 5. Speaking of defense, I'd like to be able to stop that photo from appearing on ESPN platforms. All right, let's go with my top 5. Number 5, I've got San Francisco forty-niners. This of course all starts up front next to Nick Bosa and Eric Armstead. They have this unique expensive lineman into an excellent, excellent pass rusher. You've got bread Warner who I believe is the best cover linebacker in football behind them, love the addition of Trevor Arias words. D'amico Ryan's should be one of the top head coaching candidates next year. All right, moving on to perennial top defense. New Orleans. Yeah, they've lost a few players. It got a little bit older, but the core is still in place. Cam Jordan, Marcus Davenport, David and yamada, demario Davis, secondary, you lose markets, Williams, you replace him with Marcus may, who's quite Compton, and of course you still got TJ Gardner Johnson, Marshawn Lattimore. There are stars in the secondary. I don't expect much of a decline as usual with New Orleans. Next, at number three, staying in the division. We've got the box, another group that really managed to retain a lot of their talent. I was surprised, frankly, that they were able to keep Carlton Davis. There are star cornerback at the price they did, but of course, this is a very blitz heavy team. It starts up front with Vita vea. They do need Joe try and show yinka and Logan hall, they drafted to take a step forward. I believe they will, and you got Todd Bowles, coaching the whole thing, can't bet against them. At number two, this might be my spiciest one. Green Bay Packers. Look as much as Brian goodkin is a GM has gotten ragged on to some of his offenses picked up into fixed pregnancy he has built a defensive juggernaut, love the addition of devonte Wyatt next to the perennial underrate friendly underrated Kenny Clark, rashawn Gary has taken leafs forward as a pass rusher, and they did it all last year without giant Alexander who might be one of the best three cornerbacks in football. So I expect them to be exceptional this year because they are deep at every level. Finally, everybody's Super Bowl favorite, the incredibly complete Buffalo Bills. I mean, where to begin. This is a team that finished first in EPA for play last year on defense without your Davies wife. Their best quarterback for much of the season. They've got the best safety deal in the NFL. Super solid linebacking group Matt Milano is still there. And then up front, the addition of von Miller combined with that group of young pass rushers, I simply love their off season and I love this defense. Bill mafia, where are you at? I mean, are you gonna hear from them on that? Look at Michael, he's got the he's got the glasses looking down a little bit. What do you think of Mina's leg? I like the list, Mina I really like the list. I'm just asking. Do you have the Chargers? Where are the charges on this list? They have a plenty of Russia in both. Okay, go ahead, go ahead, go ahead. No, no, go ahead. I want you to hear your case. No, no, I was just thinking about like, and I know I know depth is a part of how you analyze teams and it's very important. But both are in Khalil Mack. They sign Sebastian Joseph day. They got Durham James, who we all believe is the most versatile player in the league if not the best to roam around in secondary. A son to Samuel junior coming off of injury, JC Jackson led the league in interceptions last year. Where do you have them? Just tell me where do you have a MK? I think I have them at 7th behind the rams if I remember correctly. Here's my thing with the Chargers. You kind of hit on it. My concern is really depth. These are some players who have injuries in the past and when you look behind them at cornerback, there's not a lot of depth there. And then the other thing that I worry about is this linebacker group, which is the same as last year, and you know, really struggled to stop the run. And the Mac, by the way, will help in that regard, but I still think teas might be able to run on them. All right, I loved your list. I like the packers in number two. I'm good list. Swagger. How have we been on TV for like 45 minutes, somehow we have not shown this yet? Mina comes. First pitch. This is Seattle. Look at her go. Look at the form. Look at the form. Yeah, Marcus, what do you think? First of all, I'm going to bring people into our group chat and I know it's going to embarrass what's tripping about this first pitch. She wanted to make sure she got this right. She got coaching, she got advice from Dan, or how to throw, I saw something about make sure the back heel is pointing the right direction. MK, you were phenomenal. You did better than 50%. You did better than a lot of people that sucked at throwing the first pitch. This is phenomenal. That's why you to go. I'm glad I cleared the bar of doing better than 57, but I did not clear the bar of actually registering on the radar gun. I think that might be the slowest first pitch in the history. But you know what? Knuckleballs are hard to hit, right? Yeah, you know, I mean, I gotta out really fast here too because she also got some advice from my husband Josh, who was a Major League Baseball player. But when we were talking about the distance between where she would be in home plate, she then revealed to me that she was practicing it a little league field. So thank you for going really well there. I'm speaking of little league fields. I was already nervous. But part of the reason I was so nervous was a little league player went out and threw a perfect strike right before me from the mound. And then I had to go after him. How old was that kid? Well, at least at least we know old tyreek hill next podcast. He gonna say you more accurate depends on my own. Hey, I needed to be said, it needed to be said. All right, coming up next on NFL live. Start mini camp tomorrow. But Tori mclaurin will not be in attendance, stick around to see why field thinks a lot of players will have their eyes on this situation in Washington. We'll be right back. She throws strike. With the series tied at two games apiece, the warriors and Celtics are heading back to the Bay Area for game 5 of the NBA Finals tonight at 9 eastern on ABC, ESPN deportes and ESPN radio coverage tips with NBA countdown at 8 30. This new one NFL live we're talking about some picture days happening around the league with mandatory mini camp. There's Lamar Jackson doing the iconic dance. We know so well out of him. Good to see Lamar in uniform in there at camp. We'll keep following his situation with potential contract negotiations and the ravens. All right, so it has been a tumultuous off season for the commanders earlier this month, a U.S. House committee invited commanders owner Dan Snyder and commissioner Roger Goodell to appear at a hearing later this month as part of the congressional investigation into the team's workplace conduct. Last Friday, defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio was fined $100,000 for controversial comments that he made earlier in the week when he referred to the events of January 6th, 2021 at the United States Capitol as a dust up. And then today came the news that star wide receiver Terry mclaurin will not report to the team's three day mandatory mini camp this week as discussions on a contract extension continue. So McLaren is entering the final year of his rookie deal..

"How did they go about that process. Basically it was all hands on deck. They told one person all right. Organize five hundred meals for the next few days. They told another person. Hey we need to charter. Flights one for the players and all the staff members and one for their families. They called the players in and they said go. Gather your things. Gather your kids your family members if you wanna take your sister-in-law your mother-in-law whoever needs to be with you bring them and we will get them on this plane and then obviously they had to go secure a hotel which is never easy in the first place for a typical. Nfl game. but you're talking. Two hundred eighty people in some players and their families needed more than one room and not only that they needed buses to go to and from the airport in new orleans to and from the airport and dallas and then to practice every day. They've taken their operation on the road before many times. But they haven't had something of this quickness in this magnitude probably since hurricane katrina in two thousand five and catherine you also wrote about a pretty unique situation that the saints faced when they were trying to charter a flight. Can you tell us about that. So the saints usually charter flights from united to go to and from their away games during the season so that was the first company they called and it was not easy for a couple of reasons because one they had to convince united to fly their planes into the direction of a hurricane and then they had a really interesting and unique problem in that the united fleet or a large portion of the united fleet is being used by the government to transport refugees. Afghanistan order the commercial airlines. We're talking the ones you fly everyday. American delta united a hawaiian airlines and others eighteen of their aircraft will be called into service to actually fly american evacuees as well as afghan allies being bright out of the country so they didn't have the amount of available planes that they normally have around four pm the time that the saints took off. They were cancelling flights left and right. They're actually people stranded up in new orleans airport because they could not get a flight out of the city on saturday and sunday. Saints general manager. Mickey loomis who actually is one of the few holdovers from hurricane katrina as one of the only things that he worked about. He says he remembers sitting there and thinking. I just hope the plane comes into. What was this sudden decision to move out of new orleans like for some of the players on the team and their family members would have some of them had to say about that experience. It was a stressful time for a lot of them. A saint's linebacker tomorrow. Davis has a pregnant wife. Who's doing october. My wife is due october. Two seven and so. How far can she fly or how close she to what she can't. She's a no-fly zone but also we have family mississippi. Both parents they mississippi. So you know. Was it load up and send in to mississippi. Oh was it. bring them with me. Sometimes hurricanes do take a turn and their path is a little different than originally anticipated. So you don't always know if you're about to put someone in harm's way. And then cam jordan also brought his children in his way and he flew back to new orleans for a day. And you didn't have power. You didn't have a generator and you know. He had damaged as well. The greatest thing that i can hold is that my family is safe. I know for sure from the pictures. I've seen this morning. Our house is gonna need some immediate attention but as materialistic. I can say we're all in good health. We were saying for the storm. I think that all of the saints players and staff understand that as far as their situation goes it is a lot better than than the situation of many new orleans so they've been sure to reiterate we don't we don't have it bad. We're staying in a hotel. We're taking care of for so many other people you know. I've had friends that that. Try to drive memphis to houston to the surrounding areas. Understand the gridlock traffic. That faced understand that. You know we're gonna come back in. Some houses are going to be more.

"Stream get your tv together at direct tv dot com compatible device required. Content varies by package. All right we can make this fast. Just nfc south by in tampa. But i think there's a second playoff team in this division real and saints. Aren't you you. You caught the james. I see that look in your eye bill. That's janus. I i actually fleiss. What's interesting about the nfc south to me. Is i think you can make a case for each team right. Francesa was on this pod last week and made this whole saints case the saints over unders nine. And he's like that's ridiculous. They all must be at the super bowl last year. Their quarterback couldn't throw deep pass. So they're gonna have a quarterback that connections threw a deep pass like you can't tell me there in eight nineteen next year. That's crazy And it's sean payton the infrastructure. They have some blue chipper. So i get it like yeah. Could they go ten and seven. Would it be shocked. Atlanta goo fits that classic sleeper profile of terrible. You know fourth quarter luck last year. They had some injuries. They got a new coach Kyle pits all. Thanks so i could see that. And then carolina who is twelve to one that when that visually have the worst odds. But carolina's over i think is like seven after eight. They have good guys man like like they have a couple like studs and then if you think darnold he's better than bridgewater. They were in games for a while. The matt rule thing. I don't know we out of those three ten and seven. I'm just i'm presenting the cases mean it has like any of them. No i think the saints have the chance of making the playoffs. The parliament of saints is depth. Really i mean. They cannot lose anyone and they've already lost a people for the perception season. No michael thomas. As much as i love marquis calloway who alluded to That's very very thin. Group still Obviously very good offensive line and they'll have some other guide. The saint the rule at the saints. Is it some other dude. They've picked up the street. Who's got ten catches virgin guards and then on the other side about this this defense. I think we've been kind of taking for granted for a while. Is being really good over the last three or four years under dennis allen who still defensive coordinator but Henriksen is gone. They're hoping painting turner. They drafted can step marcus. Davenport looks fantastic. opposite cam jordan but david on your motto is a sneaky loss to suspension first few games of the season and then in the secondary. It's not a hundred percent clear to me who's playing cornerback. Opposite marshon lattimore again. Another loss ginormous jenkins tight jackrabbit. You i think officially changed his name. But in the books to jack rabbit. Jenkin notre cinco. This is what they had like. Yes all those years where we were like. Oh the saints. The cap is unreal. Put it on credit card. Well the bill came due and guys had to leave and you're still good team with a lot of really good players. Many mentioned rayo davis is amazing. But marcus williams is really good but when you start letting that depths walk suddenly you become you be. You're just becomes kind of fragile. So i think they have high upside especially winless anything like he did in the preseason. I just think that upside can get knocked down pretty quickly with injuries. Would you think. Danny so i i like the the most. I think it's the most logical and obvious so bill. You texted me this awhile ago. It's like there's always a weird team that makes playoff is is there. A weird is is our world where the panthers are the weird team that makes so that. That's why i brought it up. Because i think this could be the division that weird team. We're going to ruin three playoff teams west. Then the weird team has to be one of these. Nfc south teams the vikings. I guess it'd be weird. I think it'd be really really weird of to. Nfc teams made the playoffs. I be staggering bizarre to me. It's possible wash. we'd have dallas. And and i just don't think i don't think houses a playoff team. I don't see it but the giants at the eagles their out so we'd have to be dow's washington. I think it's more realistic. That it's one of these. Nfc south gains. But yeah the carolina thing. They were five eleven last year but it didn't didn't totally feel like a five eleven team to me. I felt like they were in games. They had some good showings against good teams They have a couple of really good players on both sides. And i do. I thought they were. Well coached the games. I watch things. Well coach i think like overachievers. Almost there it's most likely they're year away from being a competitor a contender. But i look at like their defense is very young and they've got some guys that could really make jump like brian. Burns was a favorite of mine coming out of the draft. He's looking really good so far he could have this he could. He could have a superstar season this season. When there's the support of the year kind of sleeper buzz with them And then like derrick brown. One of their top picks from last year. He's exciting player. I don't know there's just. They have a lot of young exciting players. Jeremy chan jc horn. Dante jackson if they if they can get it to come together. The defense could be to could take a jump. And i think that there's enough talent in his panthers offense especially that sam darnold can if even if he's just like neutral even if he's just average lee right there yet average that he is to good offense and so i don't believe it. I mean league. Average for sam darnold would be a mammoth fazakerley. He's been it's possible I love the schema. Loved the skill players. Do not love that offensive. Line in that removes consider for me other than like taylor. The entire left side line is an issue on the other side of the front seven. Actually we like Till snow their defensive coordinator. I think a really job but a lot of holes in that secondary. So it's it's they're interesting place because they're like a rebuilding team in many ways and they're very young But i think there is some pressure to compete now and also pressure. This is one of the teams. Where as you're watching the other quarterbacks tear it up in the preseason this the teams where the fan base does not feel great about that. And i think oh i dude yeah i mean imagine if you're authors fan i mean. Jc horn looks. He looked really good in the preseason when he did play play. He's super sticky super aggressive. Press man corner but lake. Justin feels was there. Mac does are there you know. So that's tough. And even how about this 'certain was there. They read to take it. The wrong guy right did took horn ahead of 'certain and everybody is like beck is an absolute all time you know could be a stud rookie right. Lacombe in for pros and all that stuff One thing with the nfc south. I forgot to mention they. Put the afc. The nfc says sure see get the jets and then you have all those nfc's.

"He is Cam Jordan. Damn! It's good to have you back. Hey, do in camp. You know, it's often to be back in there at this point, you know, I shouldn't probably be like sitting fresh face we should be talking about Do you know that would watch where we were today? I mean, I'm gonna static. You know letters, but it is what it is. Actually, um, you know, sit here during these covert time, Not even capital. Um, and also the other half. I have to say that shouldn't be in Tampa getting ready to play the game. But that's something that you know. We have to get better for the South seas and push forward as a team. Uh, so contrived, make another passport and I only want to put out any more. I want to board. Ophelia camp. I get it this time of year when you're not in it. It's tough to deal with it because you put so much into it, in fact, because you beat Tampa Bay twice this year camp and then they got to the playoffs. I know that's not the way you want to go out. How do you go about processing the end of the season? For instance, do you try to move on from it as quickly as you possibly can, or is this something that stays with you? And they used for fuel and motivation a little bit longer? And I mean, um That first year to something that Determine the fuel right away. Um, and then you realize that you know, there's so much more like in their anger to watch himself, but you missed some sort of agreement could be improving the bond. So now, I mean, do I want a little boat and still pretty sure for first couple nights, But after that, you know, you turn around and realized that there's you know. What key plays an exam. It should get better from that. There's different techniques. You know, we're going to be handling or whether it be your being in that. You could get better in that operating now. I have 136. Clips of every player that had been about to re season that you know, I'm a start knocking down started talking, You know, anywhere from five times later today, But over the next three months, I'm gonna have a binder full of medals on what I could get better at getting before. You know, Ocho, Very associates or these people, I'll you know. I read a lot of pointers on boys. I need to focus on getting myself a better player, not only for myself but for my team, and so we can get and you know. Be strong rating. I don't need individual really shock you, but it was better for the defense would like to make a better team. Now we can go ahead and put your hands on that. We have done everything we can to put us in a position to not only just got to make this place a Super Bowl run. Cam Jordan joining us I like that process. There's a lot to that. In fact, can. There is a point this season where the Saints defense was 29th and third down defense and last in Red Zone defense, then you guys completely turn it around. And you were, in fact, the number one defense and football for a stretch. How were you able to turn it around like that? Well, you know, would be the leadership battle. Be friends we talk about secondary on down. Um Malcolm Jenkins, Marcus Williams Water Jack Rabbit. Um, these are guys that had drawn it with poster Told what to do that these guys that you have faith in and know that, uh, over your lines, communication better be able to play off of each other. But are you know, like back in the corps with Tamara Davis alone and then we picked up on our standard. Someone in their seat in exchange for us at the minimum, you know, we just rely on our strengths, and that was the defensive line. I mean, if you focused on telling meeting Tracy Anderson on the other side of that took office here and really show, you know he's going what he's been learning last 34 seasons. Um, you talk about, you know, having a sick sack season at the Imperial lives, but nobody really talked about about how little did we play this year? I started drinking what he brings to the table. Malcolm Brown. Um there are interior put these things. You know the interior lighting that Caroline piece that nobody ever really gives to appreciate it indoors, But they're the table piece of our enemy lines. Just get just shit on. He's having trouble. You know that. Strippers going to get right? We're talking two Saints defense. Van Cam Jordan can let me ask you also about Kansas City for a second. If you don't mind, you played them back in December. What do you remember most about that game and facing that offense? I mean, when I think about that game Upon my daughter was born without the blessing for me and that, uh, you know, she came out healthy and strong and Big Elmo's £8, but, um, you know, a game itself. I was gonna leave a bitter taste in my mind. Just because, um, you know, that was a game. I think that we had control of the beach to win until the very end of the game in the fourth quarter. Um, and that's something that you can't get these plays back. Talking to Cam Jordan. Can I read you Arrest me off the very top and you're closing in on 100 sacks. Your stay up with the Pro Bowl. You remember the all decade team? You're starting to get in the Hall of Fame territory. I understand you're focused on the Super Bowl. You made that pretty clear. But is the Hall of Fame in the back your mind at all? Yeah, I mean, you know, I've always said girls see that I'm going to focus on the next game, and that's the most important game in the off season. We could talk about all of it. I mean, 94 a half sacks. It's pretty good. Pretty solid. Um, in my mind, you know, I also like this. My father have sex with about 100. Or even better Yet, I'd like to take away my first year. Well, only had it once back when I was a part of a really 1st 2nd round and I'm sitting there nine years and 93 a half sacks to make it a little bit better about what I'm going. Um, but happening inside. There's you know, five years football that I think I could really capital bonds. Um, this next part of being the most important I could secure Super Bowl and add on another 45 sacks of shit in the same place..

I'm still in Southern California, and we're getting a lot of these interviews that we might ordinarily get on the road on the road, but I'm doing it from here in so Cal. You've got the goat. You've got the future goat, two great teams, So there's lots talk about so why would I start the day by talking about something happened last night? The MBA. Why Because there was some fans who were courtside for the Hawks and Lakers, and they got rejected. Why were they ejected Because they got into it with LeBron James and then it became a classic case of he said, and she bleeping said in case you missed it. Here is LeBron's recap of what happened. I mean, my God. Tonight, he You know? Look, I don't want to say you went overboard, but he went a little bit out of bounds. You know, too close toe comfort for me, and I said my piece and we could have moved on. Um, but I think it was so close to the officials. I think the official herders well what he has said. Um, any kind of got blown out of proportion. You know, it was just like sometimes.

"What was your reaction when watching Smith and how much pride is there for you being the guy who started the run of Heisman winners at Alabama? I don't think there's one football fan in the world that watched Alabama Devante Smith wasn't extremely excited every time they seem that connection like the monster Smith. He's a special player and Really had one of the best season ever. Any position, you know, I mean, so he's a special talent, and I'm super excited for him, Man. Just, uh, hi claim that the freshman had the walk off TV and over time to win the national championship to tour 2nd 16 and might have been walk off a huge moment and the young freshman ice in advance for him to do that as a true freshman and then to come out as a as a senior and just dominate. Dominate winning the Heisman winning That's chips with them when they ask chance of winning blatant called When the players of the year, you know, especially here for him. I was excited watching him, but I can't wait to see what he does on Sunday. So roll Tide, baby. And that's how we do it, Man. We keep re loan Mark Ingram joining us All right. You mentioned Sunday. Let me ask you this. You and Cam Jordan, who is gonna be on the show later on today, our co host of the trust levels podcast and it's a great great. Listen, Now that you're hosting that podcast your official remember the media even if you're still applying. So break down that Super Bowl matchup for me, Mark, Who do you like? And why? Listen, man, I'm torn between its football May I mean, how do you go against Tom Brady wants six football. How do you go against my home? Whose only lost my one game right in the last two years, right? Uh, it's gonna be a great game and you've got time break. Those guys are hot. Got weapons on offense. Got weapons? Uh, running back at receiver at tight, and you gotta start online. Got a defense that You know, flies around his opportunities, You know? I mean, then you got my homes. You got all those Weapons. He got Tyreke man s n e y you, Travis. Kelsey, the running backs, man, the wine, you know, Um, be enemy calling the old, you know, I mean, that defense is Tyrann and Chris Jones. And all those boys. You know what I mean? So their opportunity to create turnovers, create negative plays, and there's gonna be a great matchup. But somehow I just, um I don't know how I could put Uh, just some for some reason thing, my home is going to find a way to score one more point. Then the Buccaneers man, I don't know what exactly it is, man. I don't know what the score is gonna be. I don't think it's gonna be a close game back and forth from Mike come down to whoever has the ball last I don't know how you go against Tom Brady is going for his seventh Super Bowl and But when the homes and travel cousin with Harry killed with that with what they had going on All things they've overcome from being down and coming back all last postseason and even some games this year, man, they just had a pedigree and I just find I don't think they're gonna find a way to score one more point in Tampa Bay bucks. So, uh, I think that's what my simple prediction going be. I hear you talk to bet against those guys now to be fair. To be honest, every single day Mark I got in my freezer and they're right there, man, eh goes and not just any goes. I'm talking about the normal brand. I'm talking chocolate chip. Eastern Sunday and Nate Burleson appears today courtesy of Crown Royal Nate. Happy Super Bowl Week, my man. How you doing, mate? I'm good, man. So what's the wait a minute? You got you got very Sanders marking girl. Cam, Jordan. Ryan Fitzpatrick, man, Your soul is loaded. You know, best in the business. I'm just glad I'm on. I'm glad man ready? You'll recall is amazing. And I got you and you're first in line. You're at the top of the class. All right, Let me ask you. This is not just Super Bowl week. This is actually and you won't say it, but I'm gonna say it for you. It's a victory lap of sorts for you because you called this match up at the start of the season. How good does it feel to be so right? And then? What did you see in both teams at that time that made you think that there would be the two left standing at the end of the year? Thank you. I appreciate that, man. Um, you know what? It does Feel good, you know, and I'll tell you the reasons why I picked both squads. I picked the chief because logic logic told me they were just Too Damn good to look over. And it's not just about what we see as far as exercise the nose and out talented Patrick Holmes is on and all those crazy throws with skill players. It's more about how they won their last Super Bowl that that playoff run where they were down to Houston, 20 plus points and came back. They were down to the Titans and then came back. And then, of course, we all remember the Super Bowl down to the San Francisco 40 Niners and came back, so that's how they win. They win by a lot. We've seen those games the blowout, but then they also when these close ones where They're almost in problem so That was the reason why, with the chief and then on the flip side could show any NFC team. I mean, the NFC was loaded from from Aaron Rodgers to Drew Brees. I mean any team out of the NFC West But I was I was thinking about Tom Brady. And why he told to leave New England And at first we kind of laughed like Tom, Listen, we love you. You're the goat, but you got to be out of your mind to think you're gonna leave New England and pick another squad that Tampa Bay Buccaneers of all to you Kidding me? But then I really started to break it down. All right, how it was a lot smarter than a lot of us. You've been playing this game at a high level more than we've been playing anything else in our lives. So why did he choose it? There's a coach there that he believes in. They have a running back that was already there and then they end up getting a little for net. They have a tight ending break. But in the end of getting drunk, they have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, and then they end up getting a B. So it's almost like he had this genius plan in place. Before I made my selection. I was, like, all right, I'm gonna take this big swing. And I'm just gonna say the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because if Tom Brady is writing his own book, he knows how to end it in the most fairy tale way ever. So that's why I chose the cheese versus the Buccaneers were talking in April, said. You know, Nate when you lay it out like that. I mean, you're making a really good argument for both of these teams. But if memory serves, you did pick Kansas City over Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl back at that time. Feeling about that pick right now. Do you still expect the Chiefs to win? Do you know I'm going to stick with that? As of right now I know where What about five days away. But, Jim, I gotta be honest with you. I've been waffling and it's because I've been looking at Tom Brady. I've been listening to him. Talk actually was one of the first guys to speak to him during Super Bowl opening night yesterday. And he just has this been about this quiet confidence Almost like he knows what happened. You know, like he like he seen this movie or read this book before. There's no panic in him. You know, there's this childlike excitement out of patch my home. You're rightfully so he's young. He's going for us back to back Super Bowl similar to what Russell Wilson did. And then who did he end up losing, too? Um, Brady. So it's almost like it's almost like Tom Brady knows what's coming. And we're all here waiting to be shocked. So I'm going to stay with the chief for right now. But, Jim, I gotta be honest man On Sunday, I could wake up and say that the Buccaneers we're gonna win by Phil. Go, mate. I've been going back and forth all week myself. Neighbor. Listen, is joining us. He's a parent, a courtesy of Crown Royal, which I'll get to in a minute. And then I want to get your thoughts If you don't mind about the lion says an example. You join the Lions right after Matthew Stafford arrived. Before we get that trade to Los Angeles. What was he, like? Is a teammate. And what do you make of how he handled his role in that organization and in the city while he was there? I love Max effort, you know, and he's heavily criticized. I believe on our show, Karl Brandt. He even said that Matt Stafford is the football equivalent, Carmelo Anthony. A couple out of number. He might be respected by his peers, but he's not a champion..

"Right after that. Mark Ingram. NFL er free agent joins us in our number Three Saints defense event Cam Jordan and also in the third hour today, Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick So I've got five NFL interviews were getting ready for Super Bowl 55 bucks. Chiefs who you got will break that down completely. Once again. Phone number is 18006368686. Ironically enough on this right smack dab in the middle of Super Bowl week. I'm actually going to start the day with some basketball. Now, The Atlanta Hawks have allowed some fans back into the arena for games. So yes, there were some fans in the building last night during their match up with the Lakers. And then there was some fans who got kicked out of the building during the Lakers game last night. The details of what actually happened is still under investigation. But let me give you a few facts and a few key phrases. So you know what went down if you didn't see it, according to the athletic A woman named Julianna Carlos and her group were kicked out of the game. Julianna Carlos gave the court the double bird on the way out. And now for a couple of key phrases from last night. Courtside, Karen And and I quote all steroid ass and a quote. Now that you know those key phrases and a couple of the key facts, let's get down to business right here. We've got a lot of John going.

"The action kicks off at 1 P.m. eastern on ESPN. As the Ravens take on the Titans, then on CBS Prime Video and Nickelodeon. The Bears battled the Saints and it wraps up on NBC and prime time as the Browns face this, Steve Colors. Your super wild card weekend. Two days to triple headers continues today. Starting at 1 P.m. eastern. Scott Graham from our Westwood one studios. We have reached halftime in Nashville when the Baltimore Ravens a team not known for coming from behind, did exactly that. After getting into a 10 point hole. They have tied this game at 10 as we have reached the break Now, this is game number one of our Triple header today. Game two is the two versus seven seed in the NFC in Chicago Bears go down to the bayou to take on the New Orleans Saints Saints. Of course, you're a team that has Drew Brees, a quarterback could be the last go round for But 41 years of age trying for a second Super Bowl title focus for this team while he's been there has always been on the offense. But this week I talked with six time pro bowler Cam Jordan, who right now is in the middle of the Saints defense that is top five in terms of yardage and scoring. I ask him if it felt different now that the focus this year seems to be on the defense. In my mind, I guess I'm jaded. I always think it is a defense even if that doesn't show. Statistically, I just feel like do the energy that the absolving factors of our defense of stature is we can go out and get the ball back to true if not I take takeaways by having also three announce that are essentially just that, But yes, we normally speaking, you think Drew Brees is the greatest And though you know has the most 5000 yard season, you know the most yards ever to be put their own by quarterback at 80,000, plus yards? Yes, and all that respects we have the number one quarterback of all time for sure. And you also have a head coach that in a lot of ways, I think that people might in some part overlook that. You made reference to the fact that you know, Drew wasn't there at times this year. You don't have Michael Thomas for a good chunk. You missed Alvin Kamara. And through it all. Sean Payton's got a very steady winning hand. What is so effective about the way he coaches this team? Man? I mean, over the last four years, I think you know, somebody dropped a degree that 49 wins or 51. Maybe it was 50 wins. In four years, and that's that's huge. You talk about the amount of winds we've had been put over a stretch that consistency. You don't see that consistency like that throughout the league. I mean, you know the last you know, four years that we had this playoff shirt. You're not seeing what we've done in Shawn's been here since what 2006 you talk about the level of consistency. You talk about the same attitude that the same energy he brings every day. You know that great coach mindset. Where's you know every day? We're gonna focus on something small so we can always continued building. I mean, the work is being put in every single day. You know, this offseason without OTA is it was still focused on zooms and how we're gonna get better. As a team as a collective s. So when we do have the chance to take the field, we're in our best advantageous positions to take advantage of all opportunities. We're at a time right now. You know, we got to the end of a season and a lot of people were wondering if we were ever going to get an opportunity to be there. When this thing started, you guys had a kind of an odd way of ending it. Everybody had their own story. What's your assessment of how we did get through all this to get to the postseason as a national football team, or is the saints? I mean, the saints we had, you know, once a mind is a minor numbers are players you know being affected, but Hole in it largely sort of been healthy versus Kobe and in that aspect as NFL I mean, you've seen how it can affect somebody season. I mean, we played the Denver Broncos, where he took out the entire could back room. That completely changed the way how we want to go attack the Denver Broncos offense. Verses of Denver Broncos could even try and affect the game as a whole. I mean, you know, covert has put us all in very peculiar situations. I can only say, you know. My perspective. Gotta knock on wood. I've been healthy throughout this this Covidien period to play all 16 games go through all 17 weeks of football headed to the playoffs. With the mentality that we want to win the Super Bowl now. We're talking with Saints Defensive and Cam Jordan. When you look at where you are, at this point in your career, you mention the fact that you know you had a chance to play 16 games again. This year. You played 16 games. Basically, every year. You've been in the league except for your rookie season and obviously have been a corner of this team. Also of the community. You know, that's I think what a lot of people take a look at in terms of who you are. How important is that? Still a this point to who you are. I want every rep honestly and that starts in practice. I want every rep. I never want to come out. I've started every game except for the last of my career. I mean, I've never not missed a game, so I don't even know what that feels like. They always say the best ability is availability. I'm trying to be available every play, but in terms of what I want as a person of Atlanta, Chris, maybe it would that be determined to use? I just know that you know, positivity begets positivity. So I'm always trying to push out positively into the world. I'm always trying to look into Whatever you know, the next gen wants to do you know the kids that I'm into it? You know, they are the next generation that has the potential to be unlimited. I mean, I urge each one of these kids to try and be better than they were the day before. Damn. Jordan is the only player in the league with seven or more sacks in each of the last nine seasons. And if you want to know if it's as much fun talking to miss it sounds it absolutely is saints in the Bear's coming up as soon as this one is done our halftime score, Tennessee right now, the Ravens stand.
