"Imagine to Shawn wants in with San Francisco with coach Shanahan. Scary. Jetson number one on the list. Mentioned this to the damn nets. I had somebody who said, I think I do show I sold the Shawn Watson in the village on Bleeker Street. And this is in New York City, and I said to the person That doesn't seem right. And the person said, Yeah, and he hasn't Atlanta Falcons jacket on. I go. That doesn't seem right. And then I see these pictures of the Shawn Watson. In the village. With the Falcons. It sounds like it's a game of clue. Shawn Watson in the village with the Falcons jacket on Not returning. The Texans calls. Yes, pawn. The Jets have a ton of draft picks to give up, but I don't think Sam Darnell's would be involved in that trade. Don't think that's going to get cell acquiring Sam Donald to your fans. Tourist seems like a mystery there. He's young enough and upside enough to be tradable or is that I said, Look, if you looked at the Dolphins, compared to the Jets for a training partner. Well, you have the judge that the number two pick, the Texans could then take their quarterback if they wanted to. The Dolphins have the third pick. Now you might want to go. With the Jets to make sure you get your quarterback. You know who's going one? Now you're on the clock. Because who you could take Justin Fields. You could do whatever you want and number two, you can control the draft there. But I, uh I don't know if this is you know something that not retrievable that that you could somehow bring somebody in and talking about the only thing I thought of, let's say you brought in Davos, Sweeney. That would be the only way I look at this and I go. Okay, then this is probably going to work. I'm assuming that he still gets along with his college head coach. But if Eric the enemy You know, and they're not going to hire anybody. They're not gonna hire the enemy until I'm gonna guess after the postseason if he would get the job. But I don't know if it's one of those obligatory Interviews with Eric the enemy, or they truly are interested in hiring Eric the enemy. Because I'll go back on what I told This audience two weeks ago, there was a strong chance Eric, the enemy was not going to get a head coaching job and at the time Everybody's reaction in this room was that's not possible. Got all these openings that's not possible it is possible. But that's Monday morning quarterback on the landing spots with the Jets be the number one destination. There depends on what you want to give up. And, uh, If you can find your franchise quarterback, you know you have a franchise quarterback. This isn't one of those. We're going to draft one that we hope will be you have one with two. Shaun watching. Um, a club like Washington's number nine on this list. Dave, the 19 pick in the draft, and no assets, the trade. How would they get to Shawn? One? They won't That I don't see that happening. Michael in Indiana. Hey, Mike, what's on your mind? You there? Good morning, Dan 1 65. Okay, Quick NFL questions for you. If Patrick Mahomes does not play this weekend, which Michigan quarterback has a better chance of winning Matt Moore, I'm sorry, Chad Henny against the Bills or Tom Brady against the Packers. Uh, probably go with Tom. Probably go with Tom. Seems like he's got a little better resume and big games like this just a little bit there. Yes, well, going back to the Jets. I looked at the past eight or nine jets number one draft picks they be They do well to get rid of all their number one draft picks because nothing's working God, you could go back. Calvin Pryor out of league Leonard Williams. Different team Darren Lee. Nothing special. Jamal Adam's different teams. Sam Donald, they're about to give up. No. Their first round draft picks the past seven years, almost zero impact So this way, we're not going to disappoint our fans buy them thinking we're gonna get get it right in the draft. Yes, Let's take that out of the equation, which is trade all of our draft picks and they bring into Sean wants, right. I see. Que in Los Angeles is back, okay? How has gone down in the greatest man? Listen, you know it wasn't the greatest Tom Brady and he's gonna win it all. I'm gonna tell you why. If I had your email, I would just I would send you the snapshots that Told my brother in law. He's a temp offend. I said, you guys were gonna win. It's gonna be bucks and cheese, and I got the paperwork to prove it. The reason why Tom Brady. He has this supreme level confidence kind of like Michael Jordan. It's like Every year. You know, when he would get to the finals, they felt Malone. You know, when he won the EVP that this would be the year you know Malone wins. He didn't win. Or maybe Reggie Miller. He didn't win. Even when Barkley got them, VP didn't be Jordan. Well, you know what Case ended Torto dp Dan patrick dot com and then we'll be able to see when you made this prediction here. I don't think it's a hot take to say that. You know, Brady's really great and he's kind of like Michael Jordan. I mean, Whoa, yeah. Easy pump the brakes. Called it by the way. Tom Brady's great Yeah, you did You call them before anybody years ago? It was like 20 years ago, Seaton said. I called it, didn't he? Chad? Henny, come After Tom Brady, right, So Brady was there, and he somehow went in and out, perform Tom Brady and Michigan. Yeah, I said it. One more hour to go, Dan Patrick.

"Rick till eight two hundred chicken wings at your mama's house last night now back to fat boy and that's a mess that stuff. It hurts my feelings. By the way. On friday paulie shore will be on the show. So we'll go from the seven east. Eighty s polisher. For those of you out there who are looking to be an nfl. Head coach or gm The saying goes that when you're offered one of these thirty two jobs you can't say now although we have seen people do this and it's a lot easier to turn on a job with a bad franchise and theory than it is to pass on the opportunity to reach the mountain top after dedicating to three or four decades to your craft as she likes to say but after you get that first top job. It's not one of the thirty two to coach like a guy like the buccaneers defensive. Coordinator todd bowles. He said. I think the situation has to be right. And you go from there if the situation is not right. If it's not a match. I won't take it. Take it the first time around. Probably because you really want to be a head coach and do good and save the world but after going through it with the experience and you know situations have to be right for you to succeed anywhere and obviously you have to bring a lot to the table. But they have to bring something to the table to and if it's not a match then it's just not a match and now of course bowls is one of those guys who is back in the hunt again after his defenses have been really good the last two years and he got fired from the jets. Two years ago he was sixteen games. Under as a head coach of the jets. His first season he started off with ten wins but they didn't have a qb there. It didn't work well but ball said that. He was very blessed with his relationships with mike. Tannenbaum john zik. Mike maccagnan the first round the first and second round picks by the jets while he was there clinton copa stephen hill dee milliner sheldon richardson. Gino smith calvin pryor jas amaro leonard williams devon smith darren lee and christian hackenberg blessed with those guys so anyway. He's a guy like his name is out there yet. Again and the bucks have the best rushing defense in the nfl right now. Three point three yards a carry. They have fourteen interceptions second most in the league they have eight dropped picks as a category. I'm sure that the raiders lead every year. But outside of the bowls. As i mentioned there are some guys that we keep hearing now. Bowls is african american. And you might say that shouldn't matter but it does. There are a lot of this. Should be america in. It shouldn't matter what color or gender yard. Whatever i was a kid there were three genders to but a kind of a third now. I think it's limitless and whatever if you you think you're that you're that go for a free country but it's true that teams want to look want to look good. I saw this study and it wasn't done in a cynical matter. There was done in a factual matter about corporations during the After the floyd george murderer the blm protests and such things peaceful and some of course there was some looting but corporate america. Money away actress. You think it's because they really wanted to help out african americans now. It's because they wanted to say hey. Don't look at us. We're not being complicit or not. Being silent are putting our money where our mouth is. We want to end systemic racism and And then when the protests kind of died down and we started looking more at the election that money dried up and they stopped giving money to those causes. So my point is is that there's no affirmative action and the nfl. A person should get the job regardless. I said of their color. But there's no doubt that there are a lot of companies who in the old days had to pick a white guy you know. It's like the dukes. She really think i would hire a blank. Will and i think sarah major insurance company for years and fifteen years ago. They had a hiring freeze on white people. Now you could have gone to court but you wanna be that guy. That's like the guy in junior high. We're gonna start a white student union. My good luck with that. My friend. i'm out. Sorry he's like there's two black students we should have a white student union. I go yeah you can go ahead and and i mean you might as well put a hood on if you're going to do that. It's like every day children's day every day is white student union day so just leave it can just leave it but There's eric be enemy sleeping with the enemy. He's now in his fifties. It hard to believe. But you know as george bernard shaw said the biggest brands. The biggest surprise of a man's life is old age. Being get there. Yeah but look what he's done. Now he's got andy reid and he's got patrick mahomes but he's still the offensive coordinator of the chiefs and these companies are like. Look we hired a black guy. It doesn't matter color. eric. Enemy is qualified. So somebody has to hire eric. Be enemy right. We want these young offensive mines. He's not super young but it'll be his first time. I was hearing a lot on sunday about matt. Ever flips. april fools not able to lose. Is the colts defensive coordinator and he did what i would have done. He wears masks the entire game when all you could see his eyes. I really have no idea what the guy looks like. But the whenever flawless came in three years ago the colts have the thirtieth ranked defense in the nfl. They were tenth last season their tenth in scoring defense this year and their fifth overall in total defense so in two years. He took it back. You need personnel. But still he's the guy at the top deserves credit. He took thirtieth ranked defense brought them to ten and two years and now to fifth. All right let's go stewart's know how to keep kids safe do you. Traffic safety administration and the ad council is important to plan ahead for emergencies like the storm. When it kicked in we had rated we were able to get graduate each other and know how to find each other. The whole experience was frightening ten hours of my life. "The Townsville ties studio where nobody, nobody, nobody and nobody on top of that peach down fit I nobody. Boa, Speaking of sports, betting. I saw this tweeted out earlier today, courtesy of Visa in that last night in the N B, a, the NHL and Major League Baseball. The favorites when a combined 20 and one last now that's interesting. It was a big night big big night for the favorites, not not clearing the number by any stretch, but just winning out right? They were a combined 20 and one last night, and we'll see if that continues because the Orlando Magic had a halftime lead of 10/7 John. It's just banked within from straight away. I saw off the glass on a three point and so ah, Yeah. So they're rocks will win this game going away, and they just they just scored on an easy layup toe. So now we're gonna do a little football today. Paul Latinos going to join us at four o'clock. Brian Costello is joining us now because there is no pre season, but these guys are actually starting to practice now for a change as we get set. For the start of the NFL season. Brian is with us now. Brian Costello. How are you, Sir? Brian, always doing Jets haven't lost yet. You know, I'm right on that guy's heart. What's going on with kids we're gonna do is we're gonna play this year or, you know Yeah, I think you know they last week. They were doing some drills before. Really practice began. They were cut out doing stuff to get there. He Ah! He took a funny step on DH pulled a hamstring and here we haven't seen them since we've been out there. We've been out there since Friday. We haven't seen a practice. You know, I think they're being extra cautious with him. They don't really You know, they don't know him that well. He's a rookie and his entire game of speed, so you don't want to rush that guy back from a hamstring injury. But you have being sad. He's you know, he's missing a lot of time here. They've got to get back on the field to start building some chemistry with Sam and start learning the offense. Well, where are we? In terms of workouts? We know there's no preseason games. We know there was weeks of testing and you just walk throughs. Just meetings. In terms of schedule. We're now in August 18th. Where are we? In terms of practices. They had the first padded practice yesterday. It was limited in the amount of time they had shoulder pads and helmets on You know, it was only 90 minutes. They have their limits and how much time they convey based off of the agreement between the players Association NFL now today, the Jets just did a walk through, but that was largely because they have their so banged up that wide receiver and tight end they, you know, he wanted to give them a little bit rest day, Tio. Try to get some people healthy and get some bodies out there. They'll go past the next two days, and they have a day off. So it's starting to feel like actual training camp. I don't think it's ever going to feel like training camp this entire time because You know, it's just not going to get that rhythm that training can usually has, but they they are starting to put the pads on, and hopefully we'll see some hitting more hitting you and there's a little bit of hitting yesterday, but It never even allowed two years. It's not like the old days of training camp of two a days and like, you know, these grueling practice is there's a lot of rules coaches have to follow now laid down by the players Association. No scrimmages right there like that we've seen in the past where they will, you know, teams will scrimmage against all the teams, but that's the way that's that's not happening. They cannot scrimmage against other teams. Because the NFL, you know wisely, I think does not want to put two teams together with covert. Um, they I do think the Jets will have a scrimmage into Scott scrimmages more than they might have. Jason today had one plan to sound like maybe anyone plan for the end of this week that he's not doing now because of the injuries will push back A little bit, You know, I think I think the big thing and everyone's mind get the weak one and try to get there as healthy as possible. So that might limit some of the scrimmages. I know. Joe Judge said the Giants had scrimmage Ah, little bit more. So I think we'll see that. You know. Gates also reference he'd like to get to MetLife Stadium one time with team and kind of go through a game day experience there. You know what the locker rooms would be like, because everything is different for them. Because of Kobe restrictions. So you know what the locker rooms would be like What? You know what everything on game day experience might be like, and they probably screaming in the stadium once. It's weird, because I mean, like we're sitting here, and we've got a book's Magic NBA playoff game going on in the middle of August. Obviously, everything is bizarre. And I said this to Jo the other day. He completely disagrees. And they would just find I kind of miss pre season it was that excitement was that Hey, we're almost there. Hey, we're four weeks away from the NFL. Hey, it's almost here. Do players at all feel that way, or they almost relieved they don't have to deal with preseason game. I think veteran players were relieved. They don't have to deal with it. I think if you're a guy who's an undrafted free agent, you're dying that there's no preseason games. You know, That's where That's where you found snack Harrison. That's where you found Robbie Anderson. That's where you found Winker bat. You know, that's where they make their hey is in preseason games. You can only see so much in practice, and the reps for those guys are very limited in practice. You know, the practices are all about getting the starters. Rat traps and, you know, going through things. The preseason games, especially the first one in the fourth one are, you know a lot of playing time for these guys to a rookie. So it's going to be interesting to study this year to see how many on drafted free agents actually make teams. How's it now? What I've been reading is very positive about the A number one draft to respect what I understand, But I want to be with you any thoughts on when you were not seeing anything. So I mean, you know? Yeah. From someone who just I just finished writing about Makai Bactine. Here's the challenge of August and it's always in the back of my head is, you know everyone talks. You guys up the players. The coach identifies other coaches always talking guys up. I've seen him practice. Um, really, really want, you know, in terms of a real practice. There were some things that were impressive. He had one play where he pulled. He had never Hewitt. Neville Hewitt went to the ground, right? Then I saw a play where Jordan Jenkins blew right by him. So it is up and down. You can't make pronouncements and I in the back of my head is always like And I write. Calvin Pryor looks really good, right? That once I write that I clean couple was really good. You never wrote that about building. You never did that. You know, it all gets The first round picks. Okay, look good. The second year guys already ready? Always gotta break through someone's always in the best shape of their life. You know, it's hard. You try to decipher what's B s And what? Not So you know this thing I'll say about back then. That's undeniable is just it's.

"Because this Seattle team will be now I understand this if I'm Seattle. I'm taking Jamal atoms for a couple of reasons. Great against the run. I'm getting Jamal Adams for one big reason. To stop the 40 Niners offense. Kittle. And the running game. That's why I'm bringing in Jamal Adams. Because if you don't get past the Niners, you're not getting to the Super Bowl. You got to get past them in your own division. But I'm bringing in Jamal Adams and I'm saying in Jamal Adams, and I know you have to pay him probably 17 or $18 million a year, and Seattle could afford that. No. They can get Russell Wilson already on the books. Bobby Wagner, I think is on the books here. So maybe that's your big ticket item. Your other big ticket item is going to be Jamal. Adam's okay. But No. Seattle rolled the dice on this, and they gave up two first round picks. But I think you have to look at the first round picks. They're going to be late in the first round. Yes, make love in. But what about the cap going down and then trying to sign him and keep everybody Isn't that like everyone saying the caps gonna go down? I don't know what you're hearing about that it probably will. But that's why you need first round picks because they're cheap. Well, Seattle san was trying to win. Now that does first round picks aren't going to ensure that you're going to be great. You get some of these guys or you just bad at drafting or it'll take a little while for these guys to get seasoned C. I was ready to win now in Seattle was a very good team, and now you put Adams there at the back end of the so I got. Russell Wilson is my quarterback on offense. Jamal Adam says my quarterback with Bobby Wagner on defense, Okay? But this is about playing the 40 Niners in my opinion, and I understand why both teams had to make the trade. I just I've never had confidence in what the Jets do with their draft picks, and maybe with the new GM. Maybe that'll be a big difference here because they're going to have first round picks a sari. I thought it was a good one to start on. Do we have a poll question? Make love? Well, I was going to say who won the Jets, Seahawks trade jet Seahawks or win win? Sounds like a strong option because you just kind of convinced me. Both teams did what they had to you can't pick win win. I would go. I would go with the Seahawks. Because the NFL is about now, You know, I mean, I know we love to build for the future. But the Jets have been building for the future for quite some time The dolphins have been building for the team's bears have been building for the few teams build for the future. And they never billed for today. Now win now in Seattle, Seattle went all in on him. As long as Jamal Adam shows up and wants to be a leader, then great, But you know, all of a sudden he starts to pound a little bit. For some reason, or he's not going to get his much money. See things. Then it could go south. But I I like the move for Seattle. Because you've got an elite guy Granted. It's not an elite position, but he is an impact player. And you got him Because you you must stop George Kittel and the running game with the Niners. That will be his mission. Should he choose to accept it? Yes, Phone. If you go back and look at the draft history, the Jets thes players, they go fast. They don't bring back anybody. Even the decent players. A dee milliner gone. Calvin Pryor gone. Leonard Williams gone. Erin Lee, just 2016. He's gone. Jamal Adams now gone. Sam Darnold in 2018. And then last year they got Quentin Williams early, undressed third pick, and he's has not off to a great start. That was Vic Agnan and John. It's who is known as the worst to G. M's, Right. We always made fun of those seated TNT cop show Macagni is equipment. I mean, you remember Mike Vick Agnan. I remember you had Said some unkind No. You know, I'm not going to put on you, but you always said that you'd hurt. He was not the sharpest GM. Really Mike Macagni. His reputation was pretty bad with the Jets. Maybe add a couple of beers and said that I don't know Macagni and Lacey. I like that cabinet, and Spacey. Yeah, I would say Seattle won it because I don't know what the Jets will do with these draft picks, and I know that you've got a guy instead of we're going to get potential here in the draft. You got Jamal Adams. And that That's pretty. Ah, pretty strong. What about the team cancer aspect with Jamal Adams and the Jets like he couldn't have him ripping the coaches every day, right? No, no, no. You had to get rid of him. And he knew that because once he starts to criticize the owner, Woody Johnson, and then he criticizes the head coach, and it's just a matter of time that Okay, It's not if I get traded, it's where I get traitor date. He wanted to go to the Cowboys, but that wasn't going to happen. So he ends up with Santa. So I think both sides did pretty well did the best that they probably could with this. And giving up the two first round picks. It sounds alarming, and then you start to look at it. It's not like the the Bengals gave up two first round picks, then that would be different. This is Seattle in Seattle's pencil him in for what 10 wins this year. Probably draft 24th this year. Right. 8773 d p. Shoal email address. Stevia Dan patrick dot com. "That's been treated very poorly by Fritzie way are listening to you, and it sounds like a scene of revenue will get to the bottom. This mystery from the Mercedes Man came on this edition of the Dan Patrick Show. Welcome to the program already in progress. Dan and Dan, It's Dan Patrick Show, skewing negative. Okay, Cameras are being looked at from various homes with those little doorbell ring camera. Okay, so we'll get an update. Their Todd's house got egged lot of culprits. Lot of people who would want to egg your house. Just people who join us on the show. Right. Best works the weekend as we always do every Monday what you liked you didn't like you could dial us up. You can email and you can tweet we say good morning to our great radio. Philips number 362 cities around the country and also you could watch on youtube dot com slash the Dan Patrick show. Players complaining about getting out of a bad situation isn't new. Either. They want to get paid more. They want to go to a better situation. They want to go to a better coach. Maybe all the above. But the former Jets safety Jamal Adams, you could probably marked him down for all three of those because he's been ripping the head coach Adam Gays and the team all season off season and then you got what he wanted because the Jets shipped into Seattle for two first round picks, and we'll talk about the deal coming up in a moment. And it's never pretty. But criticizing your own team could be an effective way to maybe get out of that situation. In most other lines of work. You probably can't get away with that. But keep in mind. You choose your company. You don't get drafted, and Adams is a tremendous player and there was great hope for him in New York, but he's not leading them to the promised land anytime soon. They're on a rebuild again. They gotta fix years decades of mismanagement. As for the Seahawks, Adams makes that defense potent. Once again. They're all in on that defense in that team this year. And if you're not a fan of either team, it's uh, win as well. Because now we don't have to read about Jamal atoms ripping the Jets every couple of weeks. He wanted to go to his beloved Dallas Cowboys, but that didn't happen. And I started to look at the deal because I thought well are the Jets going to get two first round picks for Jamal Adams, who plays safety, which is not a valued position. The Bears kicked off the trend by trading two first rounders for Khalil Mack. Bill O'Brien and the Texans to first round picks for left tackle Laramie Consul and wide receiver Kenny Stills. The RAM sent two first round picks to the Jags for cornerback Jalen Ramsey. So that appeared to be the going rate except for left tackle very important edge rusher very important cornerback very important Jamal Adams as a safety Not as important. You know, Seattle doing it? I understand why they're doing it and you start to look at this new go K. What do these pics going to be? So Seattle is going to give up two first round picks that will probably be somewhere between 20 and 25. Maybe 20 and 30. Um The Jets get the two first round picks. And they get Bradley MacDougal. And he is a safety, so they get a safety and he's obviously a lesser version. He's 30 years of age, and he's about same size but not saying players, So you get him and then you start to wonder about the Jets. Hey, You got two first round picks. What's one thing to have first round picks. It's another thing to do something positive with those first round picks. How about Kyle Wilson? Mohammed Wilkerson? Quentin Coppola's Dee milliner Sheldon Richardson, Calvin Pryor, Leonard Williams, Darren Lee, Jamal Adam, Sam Darnold. Out of all of those first round picks since from 2010 to 2018. Sam Donaldson, only one still there. You can have first round picks. We used to talk about Cleveland rounds all the time, and I got some first round picks. I said, Well, who's making the pics? Because that's really, really important here. And you saw what the Cleveland Browns would do with those draft picks. Same thing with the Jets. And you know, you start at the top, and you gotta mess it the top with the Jets anyway. And what's going on with Woody Johnson. And when he comes back is the commissioner going? Let him take over this job after he comes back from being a goodwill ambassador for President Trump, probably not. And his brother's in there, Chris Johnson, but it starts at the top when you think about great teams and ownership there and You know, I started to think about if Woody Johnson, who was longtime owner, the jet, so he's the US ambassador to the United Kingdom. In 2018 ahead of an event for Black History Month commonly marked at U. S embassies around the world. Woody Johnson appeared agitated and ask if the audience would be quote a whole bunch of black people, according to one source..

"Today pull the trigger. They trade Jamal Adams and 1/4 round pick in 2022 to the Seattle Seahawks Exchange for safety Bradley McDougald, a first round pick in 2021 1/3 round pick. In 2021 a first round pick in 2022. Sources tell ESPN All the deals, of course, are pending physicals, My Greenberg, our great host of Get up and someone who's soon to return to ESPN Radio is with us now on the shell Pennzoil Performance line to help us Break this down green. Thank you so much for going to some time here. On this Saturday. So your first reaction? I mean, it seemed like it was inevitable. Greenie mean, you criticized the owner, the head coach of the G. M in the same week, and something's got to give. So do you think that the Jets got enough for Jamal Adams? I do. And hello, fellas. I think that considering the circumstances, the Jets actually did extraordinarily well. I was convinced that by letting this thing dragged to where they had, and to where The way as you're correctly pointing out, Jamal Adams was not blowing up bridges. He was napalm ing them that there was no turning back. Every team in the league would know that And when you factor in the idea that in order to trade for him, you don't have to sign into the huge contract that he wants. I did not think the Jets would get one first round pick for him that they got two first round picks for him. I actually think is excellent. So I have sort of a big picture view of this, and a little picture of you of the little picture of you is I think the dress did very well today. They were they had their backs are against the wall. There was a player they absolutely had to trade and I think they got extraordinary value for him. Under the circumstances, the big picture. I'm a lot less happy with, but the little picture I think they did today. Very well. Like if you are Joe Douglas, are you wary of Adam Gay? Says the head coach based on Jamal Adam's opinion of him. Well, listen, I'm Mike Greenberg. And I'm wary of Adam Gates is a head coach based on everything I've seen since the moment they hired him. I don't know how anyone could be anything but underwhelmed. With what we've seen from gays, and the problem is that the thing is that Jamal Adams said about gays. Not being a leader are exactly the criticism that you heard about him during his time as the head coach in my aunt's. So while you never want to hear my initial inclination, one player on the team Openly critical of the head coach or anyone else. You want to criticize the player and, of course, Jamal Adams had ulterior motives here. But as I said to someone yesterday, truth is the ultimate defense. And I don't. I don't think anyone doesn't believe that what Jamal Adams were saying about cases True, So I have any number of issues with case after one year is the head coach. And I think that that Adam's brought up exactly the kinds of questions that have surrounded him since before he was hired in New York, So he's not going anywhere now. Obviously, the season's about to begin, so we everyone roots for the Jazz will just root for the best here But to say that you have Our concerns, I think would be an understatement, at least for me and I think for almost everyone I know my Greenberg is our guest on Dickerson and Hood. It's ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Three years is a short time, greenie. For Jamal Adams with the Jets. I mean, a great player, also polarizing guy. Very vocal. How would you kind of sum up his short tenure in New York? Well, I mean, extremely tragic from a sports standpoint, and here's why Here's when I said that the small picture the little picture the Jets did very well. The big picture is you don't win Championships by trading away players like Jamal Adam's right, So all three of us know three L s u football players. Very well. Logan McFarland, Ryan Clark, Marcus Spears, those air guys I've gotten to know very well. They're regular guests on my show, and I'm around them a lot, And every one of them said to me all three of them on the Jets drafted to me. Not only is he a great player, which obviously is he's the best player at his position and bleed. But he is also the guy. You build a team around emotionally. He is the spiritually Eder routine. He is a guy who, quite literally when he came to the Jets created some controversy by saying that he would die on the field that so much. He loves football Now, obviously, you would prefer he didn't put it that way. But that's sort of the mentality. You want. Your football players tohave. He's a guy that you bet that that is your your emotional leader. You don't win by trading back guy away, and I would also point out to you guys If you look a bit Macy's Twitter fee, he points out. Just look at the Jets draft in 1920 17 tomorrow. Adam, the first man picked traded before the second contract. 2016. Darren Lee first round pick traded to form a second contract. 15 Leonard Williams first round pick traded before a second contract. 14 Calvin Pryor traded before a second contract, 13 They had two first round pick the Milner and Sheldon Richardson. One of them was cut and the other traded before their second contract that is the express train to stinking. Is just continuously get nothing of long charm value out of the most important commodities you can have, which are first on draft pick in the NFL. So if you want to sum up why the Jets have not made the playoffs at this point in a decade, you need look no further than that. Like Jeff and I were talking about Adam's than being such an impactful, productive player. That being which Seattle reminds me that there could be a renaissance of the Legion of Boom. 2.0, with Seattle, we remember. Finally Richard Sherman Earl Thomas, Chancellor. Players of that hill. Byron Maxwell. So Adams could be that type of impact player to you that energy to Seattle wants them that if they had, I think back in 2011 through 2018. They had that type of really dominant defense. They could have it again. Yes, I think it's a great deal for Seattle. They're going to be really good that you're going to be late ones means a lot to give up for a player, but he's worth it. And I agree with you. Jonathan. He's keys. He he just seems to fit exactly what they've been for a long time and and look that I think that's the best division in the sport. The 40 Niners may be the best team in the NFC. They were in the Super Bowl last year. Seattle was one play away from being the one seed in the West last year with the Rams won the Super Bowl be here before, and I think Arizona has a chance to be the most improved team in the sports. What a sneaky good M v P pick a quarterback in column Murray, So that's a great division. And I think loading up to try and win right now, with Russell Wilson and his absolute prime is the right move for the Seahawks to make. So if you're asking me, I think this is actually Again looking at it little picture. This could be sort of trade that works for both teams That's had a player who was disgruntled and made it clear they had to deal him. They did, and they got good value. The Seahawks added a great player. That you know what a premium it isn't considered to be a premium position..

"We're not starting the game on at one PM I want to see some of the best talent. And when it comes down to talent on the New York Jets when it comes to how the New York Jets have procured talent over the years. They never live up to the hype, or they live up to the hype, and then they disappear. Or they don't even show up at all. Or they go just enough to the edge and get paid and then become Casper the friendly ghost. That's what it's like being. AH New York Jets fan You know, we want to talk about Ah, talent You know, Thibodeau is is going to be named coach of the New York Knicks as they negotiate and finalize his contract. New York Knicks. It seems like they don't even get a sniff a talent sometimes in the draft. And here you have the Jets, who have one of the best players in the league right now. And because of the New York Jets, and the culture that they've harbored over years is now gone. So no, I can't argue about the draft All No. I cannot argue about of the maneuverability. I can't argue with you about trading a player who doesn't want to be here. But what I can tell you as a fan. Yeah, I can like Joe Douglas. And I can hope that things work out. But recent memory past memory doesn't evoke that much confidence in me. The phone lines are blowing up. I'm gonna continue to take your phone calls and get your thoughts. The phone 877337 66 66. What are your thoughts on the New York Jets trading Jamal Adams. What do you think this means for the New York Jets in their future? Is it a short time impact? Is it a long term impact in the long run? Yes, it may actually work out. It might be better. Let's be realistic. We're still talking about the Jets. And it's highly unfortunate that there even in this situation right now you want to know some names. Calvin Pryor. Leonard Williams. More. Wilkerson. Mark Butt fumble, Sanchez. Karen Lee. Let's hope that Sam Donald Isn't the next dude.

"In to our next topic on hand if you wanna try made about the funniest sports reporters and athletes moments eight hundred ninety three ninety three eighty five is our phone number let's talk about building our dream wide receiver we built our dream running back and quarterback the last two weeks actually of a week and a half ago as last week we are joined by Chucky Atkins has a great conversation with with Chucky for about forty five minutes to an hour phone conversation we broke down his career we talked about who's the greatest of all time he said Michael Jordan I had to talk him down from the ledge a little bit but let's talk about building our dream wide receiver drew let's go with you first what are the attributes hands height speed whichever ones you want to select you could take a piece of everybody's game and build your dream wide receiver long gone Tyreek hill's speed okay good one Calvin Johnson's frame just I mean he has a great hands just as body in general is ideal yeah for a receiver so maybe I guess try to think of a receiver who has elite hands I mean Calvin does Calvin Pryor is the best you think about Larry fitz Gerald again Jerry rice okay let's I think Larry may be a better route runner than Calvin yeah we can say Larry fitzgerald's route running Calvin's build Tyree kill speed me what other attributes it is there well you think what wide receiver you enhance their eating speed and you need to have a big frame work you don't need to have a big frame but you need you to be the best I think you do well yeah because Calvin Johnson just threw it up anywhere it generated it and a nice frame in and he was he's arguably the greatest wide receiver to ever live Larry fitzgerald had a nice frame in and he still chugging along what you're seventeen ninety still coming back he hung around a long time for a guy in the NFL specially a receiver yeah so I mean that's a great one I think that those attributes to build a a dream wide receiver we built our dream running back a last usually last week but two weeks ago I said I want the speed of Barry Sanders the agility of Barry Sanders I wanted the physicality in the frame of Jim Brown and I forget what the well I had the the hands of a Kareem hunt Hoosier pride the best are receiving back I know that he's you know he's had a couple issues off the field but I think he's the best catch each of us receiving running back in the league right now okay you know I I agree and I wanna go back to the receiver one real quick I know we said Calvin as good hands I think deandre Hopkins that that is the only way out of the hands I want as my bill the receiver and I'm looking at a website that says D. K. Metcalf as your as your build okay but I still I think Calvin is I mean I like that he's a little like longer and I as buff yeah it's not as buff but I think he's a little faster yeah and many still he six five so it is a wide receiver you don't want to have the biggest arms the world with a bicep wiring and you want to have nice you don't have a nice build but we D. K. Metcalf is almost too strong yeah and he he still he still almost perfect for receivers built by yeah he he is almost getting to the point of too big what about run after the catch golden Tate one of the best slot man's of all time Adleman Tate I think that's an attribute for see I think Jack I think yet yard after I catch king are the golden Tate is been the best in his playing days by far you slam on the slide I wish the lines were gone after him last year yeah said Danny Amendola and they brought it into the back for another year they could get golden Tate for back to back seasons because he was a free agent after our the trade with about that he was dealt away from Detroit to go to play in Philadelphia and had one year left on that lines needed a wide receiver they could've gone after him but they wanted to Danny Amendola instead then this year they could've made a move after me sign back with New York so interesting to see golden Tate are still moving around in the NFL I'd love to see him play back in a tree where my favorite wide receivers ever that lace them up in Detroit for me I I'm definitely taking the Calvin Johnson bill because if you're saying you're taking a six foot six wide receiver that was they can jump out of the the stadium and and had hands like the best of them hi Larry fitzgerald and take his his hands I think during his playing days I think Larry fitz Gerald was probably if not the head the best pair hands top three wide receiver in the NFL I don't know if you were the commercials you're with the NTSB and their throw plates Adam and here to snag him out of here with one hand as I said yes sports science at the show yeah US sports science I don't know if it's still around I know ESPN kinda took it over for a little bit but it used to be its own independent show on Fox Sports yeah then it moved and I haven't seen much from it and like seven or eight years I think the use of a camp where they bring it up later into a into the locker room that was a great show there was no my favorite spot sports shows growing up sports science and figure out there still you can look it up on YouTube and you can find lots of the old episode I'm sure I I just watched one where the the ball family lands of the millions or on it and that was price three years ago okay I'm not sure if you're still making new episodes of the news when I saw the Larry fitzgerald my hands I have to have Larry up frame for Calvin speed of Jerry rice I think those three guys can match to be the greatest receiver ever and for me I just need speed has a frame that can slow throw it up to and I think those three guys are just unstoppable when you talk about a wide receiver's so for for me that that that's pretty simple I should three spots to fill for a receiver I think I'm golden did you build your dream running back as we did that work for ten weeks ahead of you right now there is a loose of Nestle like quickness cutting yep that's very maybe Jerome Bettis's brute strength yeah the bus was great at just you know running through walls breakaway speed I mean yet that they're on Adrian Peterson I think all right when he was in Minnesota he was the best player in the league yep levy on bell's patience I think levy on bell does a great job of waiting for blocks of odd you know form instead of just running to a hole that's not there yeah but that's kind of like a minor thing that's not that's not something that I would have up high on my list so you gotta bury obviously Walter Payton I I can't I've never really seen much of his highlights I can't I don't know what his thing was what a breakaway speed like who's the guy that you would take for just your gets a secondary and no one can stop him I want to say John the Best Buy he didn't even last long his his speed was insane well I think Adrian Peterson are the best yeah I I I've seen Adrian Peterson in person multiple times and he is incredible to watch in its heyday was just he looks like a gazelle who's just I mean now he's obviously slow down a little bit but yeah and my day Adrian Peterson just the breakaway speed I'm trying to think I mean Kareem hunt is a great pass catcher you're right about that I mean we can we can stay close to home Theo Riddick was a upright ask a light not he's not the best of all time but he's in Denver now right I think I know he was zero his collarbone last year didn't play if your lines cut him he was he was definitely a big asset for a lions offense here for like three or four years yeah but it is good to have a pass catcher and that's hopefully what D. Andre swift is that's what we've heard about him but I'm gonna look up building the perfect running back just so I can have some sort of they'll have some sort of asset that Walter Payton featured yeah you definitely they will and he's definitely the best pass catchers ever pricing Kareem hunt played I think there's no one better and I think the issues off the field I brought this up two weeks ago if the winds to go get him the burial get up yeah I'm not solitary and Johnson yet injuries yep okay so this one is size say kwon Barkley I yeah but I think there is he was smaller but I don't think size really matters now so this is all current players that that yes so this one is vision levy on bell which is kind of what I was saying mmhm yeah this is not all time this is all current players but you could go I'm at Smith's longevity Frank gore's longevity the the guys who are yeah me Frank gore has never been one of the best maybe he had a few seasons where he was at the top of the game but just the fact that he's a running back who stuck around this long the most they're running back his old most running backs are in and out within five six years most NFL players are out after five six years yeah and and and Frank gore's with third all time rushing and he's thirty six years old and and that's a bunch of crap though because berry would be the outside leading rusher futa played ten years hi I love it here she played nine years anyone who knows football knows that Barry is better than I'm at Smith better than Frank gore yeah yeah they would have gotten out of the but the greatest running back to ever live yeah if you wasn't in Detroit not all actually it did help that he had the the turf and had a pretty good O. line mmhm but yeah the I think the franchise finally got too many he called it but it would have been interesting because he got a plate what wanted to retire ninety to ninety six a let's look at what we were around yeah during this time of it was the nineties on nine nineteen ninety nine okay he could've gone another five years like if you think about it he could have been like the the one of the first players we knew about growing up he played nine years yeah and he could it he wasn't injury prone necessarily so like he could have been the guy like our our Chauncey Billups Ben Wallace growing up yeah he could have been the guy that we knew on the line since it was Joey Harrington yep but that's kind of weird to think about that he could have been playing in our lifetime in there is a one year where he missed five games.

"Your psychotic episode transient just after ten AM in seven felt this normal in a really long time waking up this morning there was that same excitement that same anticipation that sell on draftees in years past it was right there again and then it's Dr night here we go it's nice to have the feeling of being anxious but it's about whether the giants of the Jaguars are going to complete a trade or it's about whether Joe Douglas is going to trade back if all four tackles are off the board at eleven will you take a receiver kind of feels nice to have that familiar anxious feeling as opposed to what we've kind of been dealing with over the past couple months and yeah I honestly think that Dave Gettleman can't lose here I I know he thinks and it feels like there's a lot of pressure on him because of the J. Glaser report that you know he's on the hot seat and we could have told you that because John barrows said as much you know when Pat Shurmur got fired he said that Dave Gettleman has to get his batting average job and you know if he stays at four and he decides to go with either the best offense of tackle on the market or he decides to go with Isaiah Simmons well I think so I would go with the tackle he really can't you can't lose you can't say the passing did you know on a tackle to take what may be the best player in the draft besides she's young and a guy who could transform your defense is necessarily a mistake so you know even if Gettleman trades back with the Jaguars at number nine and maybe he gets forty eight along with it as long as he can still get the tackle that he wants at that spot I'm gonna find it really hard to NIT pick what Gettleman does I think it's going to be hard for him to mess this up tonight the other is the interesting part is maybe Joe Douglas now he's in the first year draft that he's ever had it's all out of whack because of the pandemic and while you can say all right Joe Douglas is going to be here for a long time we think and we hope he can't get too cute here and he doesn't know who's gonna be left at eleven by the time he is picking there if all four tackles are gone how does that change anything for him if he is going to go wide receiver does he pick the right one because the jets need foundational pieces ed the off season in terms of free agency for Joe Douglas did not add meaningful foundational pieces he has to start doing that in the draft so if you're gonna ask me who is more pressure on them tonight despite the fact that Gettleman's behind might be on the line I actually think Joe Douglas might be feeling it more they get on the tonight yeah you know and and it you know a couple different so it's all with the giants first and foremost right we cattlemen yeah I don't I don't disagree in essence is as you know you and I disagree about whether China should go with the fourth overall pick you know I would be intrigued with you know the Clemson linebacker slash safety Isaiah Simmons I can understand and and you feel like they should go offense of line if they don't trade back with the fourth overall pick but if they decide to go often supply Maggie I would not scream and holler I would get it I would understand it the only issue I have with trading back is if you're going to trade back you want to make sure that you're not taking a step back in the talent at the tackle that you want to bring in and less the apple of your eye is going to be a guy that that is third on most teams you know you know scale in terms of tackles and that's the guy that you love I mean who knows but I don't want I don't want you to try I would want the giants to trade back and get the second or third tackle of their choice do I mean I I want them to if they went through the rock near last year we've had to turn over Joe judge steps in as head coach you know whether you know Gelman's jobs on the line and I we've been talking about this offense of line five six seven years yeah if you're gonna go offense of line Maggie I want to make sure they get their guy because he for argument's sake you you have to believe that they're gonna have an opportunity with the fourth overall pick to take the first tackle off the board and I would not want them to go out and say all right well let's trade back make that swap with Jacksonville and then we'll get the you know the fourth best tackle in the draft it might not be our top tax will be somewhat them to get the best possible player at that position that they believe is going to be you know a franchise changer along the offense of line you know aside from that I yeah yeah I I don't I don't I don't disagree with the I mean I I think for Dave Gettleman here I I think you're in a position where you have your quarterback position need filled you're looking to try and and change around the in the two big weaknesses on this team office of line of defense and you can get a player that can address either side of the football with that fourth overall pick and even if you decided to back you can get a position in all likelihood you're train back here be drafting a tackle but yeah that's been a an area of need here for Gelman and I grew the in terms of Joe Douglas as we talk to Manish Mehta yesterday Maggie and you know you and I talked a little bit off the air as well about it no minis was dead are correct I mean you look at it you know what we're talking about Jamal Adams of whether or not to pay them what what cornerstone players to the jets really have one take a look at this roster I mean that there's not a lot I mean you've already paid a levy on bell came in as a free agent you know you drafted Sam Darnold yeah you can say about Chris Herndon you can't say that any wide receiver you can't say right now about any offense of linemen you know what you know a defense of wanna one's a Quinn Williams I I mean he's got something to prove coming off what was a a subpar rookie year a year ago you've got tomorrow items mais a hell of a player to safety when he's healthy but they don't have a lot of those guys so if you're Douglas yeah the pressures on you have to start to raise the talent level overall of the jets Hey you know you want to draw the comparison about which guys to pay and who paid positions of need Maggie you also have to have the embarrassment of riches top players at each and every one of those positions and I just don't have it so I grew there well we'll get a general managers these a little bit more pressure I'd say it's Joe Douglas because if he's sitting there say one of the titles are not there you know do you go see the lamb you know do you trade back in essence it it because this is a wide receiver rich draftee you get criticized as you draft the best wide receiver conceivably even though there's great depth at the position I agree I think there's more pressure on Douglas tonight as compared to government yeah and you know most of you know also but that with the jets let's not forget CJ Moseley just because you know these guys paid player on the team but he's not the Douglas guy helicity came from Baltimore so we at probably right Joe Douglas is is would be a a fan of of CJ Moseley but we don't know if you would want to you know go that high on the contract the Mike the CAG India we talk to Connor Hughes a covers the jets for the athletic I said why and he was like Mike McKay did everyone of the league's knew that you know he could say that there was a price but he never stopped to it okay mostly took advantage and I definitely see the jets and and I think he's going to be great for the jets and and I'm curious like if you just not gotten hurt that bills game does the entire you know tenor of the season for the jets change you know even if Sam gets Bato does the season changes the CDA Moseley in the light up but you could make a case that probably does he's that good of a player but yeah it's it's time for Joe Douglas said date to start putting his stamp on this team and you know it's funny because your watching the twenty fourteen draft and I don't need to tell jets bad seo the draft has been tough you know and and you're seeing Calvin Pryor it's like all you know you just want to like smack your forehead like what all men and he's good compared to what it was like a hawk there was what a what a with but it's time to look back on those drafts in the commentary after guys are taken and and essentially what they turned out to be it's just one big freezing cold takes I mean the thing is is this is our job to write or asked to be reacting to things in the moment sometimes you don't have all the information sometimes the story changes and so all of us end up looking bad at one point or another you know it's just whether or not we want to admit it or not you know but bad looking back yesterday just as a quick aside like the Johnny Mann Zell storyline just water all I need this I it almost made me feel bad from itself I don't even know how that's possible but they keep heading back to him in the green room every time the team is on the clock it's like Paul where's Johnny Mann Zell gonna go on the clock could they go quarterback should prompt the brakes everybody similar to what they were doing with Rogers in one of the guys was on the train that you remember was lebron James remember lebron hype it up Johnny after you did that work out with hands on helmet on say look it is that simple Getty yeah exactly right I mean it was it was a quiet man man sell unfortunately enjoyed being a star more than he enjoyed being a football player and the work ethic just was not there but yeah that was an intriguing draft because of just how combustible a personality and a football player Mandel was at a and M. and what he turned out to be in the NFL yeah I know because I remember doing a show on Saturday mornings with you right after that first round of the draft was over bike okay Johnny Mann Zell is the headliner coming out and and like it's you know seven o'clock in the morning in the in the photos start filing in from like the Associated Press in the New York Post everything and it's made salad at night club like five hours earlier on like an inflatable unicorn swamp thing like a novelty bottle of champagne and like as big as its head well I don't think you can get one of the United obviously get one of those tonight so it's not going to be anything like that transpired tonight with everything that we're going through but you know Maggie at you know I woke up this one I was up at five o'clock this morning so I was up early this morning and you know saw the sun rise yeah it's exciting you know I'm excited for the draft tonight and I I get fired up when the draft rolls around each and every year but we talk about ratings with the last dance documentary I think the I mean this is going to blow up any kind of ratings record for any draft coverage in in years I mean it just will I can't wait for tonight I'm intrigued to see what as you talk about what Joe Douglas in the Jackson and Gettleman and the giants what they decide to do will be intriguing to watching you know given the restrictions with you know good dell announcing it from his basement and in Bronxville New York and you know what all these you know these I. T. guys across the league are doing for their respective teams Hey it's a fascinating straight after I really do and and I think for both locals here what you want to come out of it is not only know want to get great players Maggie you want also try and if you can connect the two to where you can address a big time area of need and that's where I I think it's a fair point when you look at the giants I don't think if you're a giant thing coming out of it if they address the defense with Isaiah Simmons who's an intriguing draft prospect and we've seen guys a call banks go on record saying that they would go with the Clemson linebacker or whether they go offense of line either way I really don't think the giants can lose now you mean to tell it you know if Gettleman pulls the ultimate which would be trading back and doesn't address any of those needs then I mean it's only that would be the ultimate failure but I don't even think the.

"Newspapers locally is what you get from Steve's service as far as his Q. and A.'s that specialize his football stuff that he brings to the table and Surbhi nailed a piece that I guess is going to appear I know if it's gonna be Fridays pay for all of those in Thursday's paper is not the point does really matter you could check it out I saw it online he goes through a draft that will forever live in infamy for the New York Jets and two two thousand fourteen the jets were actually well positioned to go about the right way building football team they had twelve picks and yet they with it felt like on every single one of the so you go through this column and listen you can do this for a lot of failed organizations you could do this for a lot of teams that don't get it right the draft but this was the John eight six special and this is one of my policemen who will get to in a minute has been talking about for a long time so the first round the jets said the eighteenth overall pick who did they go what Calvin Pryor Calvin Pryor who only lasted three seasons in the NFL what three seasons with the New York Jets and was a portal staff miserable safety not exactly what you would call banner winning first round pick sell who could have been at brainy coax who was just traded by the LA rams could've been had we know how much you need the jets have been for a wide receiver D. Ford could've been had a a thirty and a half sacks over five seasons as a Kansas city chief and was productive last year with San Francisco ha ha Clinton Dix could have been had a guy who's turned out to be pretty darn good safety second round let's continue with this exercise J. Zamora who was supposed to be this revelation is physical for re get tight and it was supposed to be the jets that sort of Gronk that's what I heard when they made that pick all we got all of grand we got all across we got a tight end J. Samara thirty passes two touchdowns as a rookie yes that's it thirty eight that passes two touchdowns finished with thirty eight passes two touchdowns no I did not read that wrong who could've ended up with Jarvis Landry for starters who yes it's been a little bit of a diva wide receiver but four hundred passes for four thousand yards in Miami and had his third thousand yard season in Cleveland they could have a guy by the name of Jimmy Garoppolo's in two thousand fourteen yeah you were still holding out hope that Gino Smith was going to be our answer quarterback that ended up going swimmingly give me another guy and right now he's one of those deceivers in a week the bond Adams all could have had around two we continue third round dexter McDougal twenty games is jet didn't have an interception forefront Jaylen Saunders returned six points for twenty six yards only season with the jets good had pulled on Cincinnati started all sixteen games in four years a quiet Jones who was turned out to be a pretty serviceable defensive tackle Shaquille Evans fourth round the code does your foot down started seven games in five seasons please this is a hapless hopeless exercise out of any of these that I've run through obviously the Calvin Pryor one is going to bother you but what would be next on the list is I go through that store started twenty fourteen Jack I don't wanna do it anymore because he's that bad if that hapless who would be the pick that like each that you may be more than the others well it's not a cake they made it's a pick they did not make and you listed a couple of guys that Serbia had in the calm of who the jets could have had and yet divine dad is great he's probably better than the player about to name I don't know Jarvis Landry is I'm gonna name a guy who I wanted you'll know immediately why wanted him why I knew about him and why I want him in the second row I got it I don't even need you to finish he'd be going by the name of Allen Robinson yeah and the jets were in position to draft him in the second round they passed on and this is a franchise it's always need a receiver they ended up taking receivers later in this draft one actually this is the only pick that John is it made in this draft on the opposite side of the ball that ever contributed anything at the NFL level and it's Quincy no no of course you can't stay healthy but to me the the the biggest issue for overall with the two thousand fourteen draft is that I was still furious at John is it for drafting Gino Smith Y. know you'll get to later that it took him out of the running for not that they're the greatest quarterbacks in the world to think about where the jets were as a franchise so that they didn't consider taking Kerr or Bridgewater order Rapallo all guys who would have been significant upgrades you could call one of their hands often they would have been better than Gina Smith and they also could have been employed for a quarterback who I take over a course of time you probably wanna wanted by the name of Johnny Manziel the man's cell I would have C. twenty four weeks I got on it man you know I was a big Baker guy you know I've been a big the Shawn Watson guy and this year going into the draft tool is My Baby but I was all aboard the Johnny Mann Zell train cell when you're wrong you're wrong I thought he'd be a terrific pearl he has been you know nothing short of a nightmare I mean there's no other way to slice and dice it he ended up being a total flop and I still believe weeks it's not even a tower man cell the attitude the fact that he didn't want to put the time in the fact that you don't want to do the homework and research you can have that said attitude your quarterback you got no chance yeah that's one of the reasons I was afraid of him I just I remember going to the strap we heard about all the wide receivers it was supposed to you know that might be the last great wide receiver class that we heard about before the upcoming one in twenty twenty and thinking for the jets okay this is perfect in the first round it is a franchise that's all it seems like the last two decades as needed three positions always quarterback wide receiver defensive end now they bill and pass rusher day blue with the quarterback year before taking Gino so I knew they were going to think about Bridgewater car but I thought okay eighteenth pick Dee Ford and another guy who didn't get mentioned he went early second round if you watch Boise state you know about him DaMarcus Lawrence when the top of the second round a year I thought they could get one of those guys eighteen and Allen Robinson had forty nine and the jets would be in a much much different place right now if they made those thank John it's a absolute contender for the worst general manager in the history of football even if you don't want to look at how badly he blew the text the fact that the guy made all twelve he drafted twelve players I mean anybody who follows football tell you you're not carrying twelve of these guys twelve rookies into the season as part of the fifty three man roster no we do have to work the game exactly you have to be the one to move up the draft board you have to understand how to play poker maybe tree one for somebody next year maybe move upping get somebody that you know really really want John exec flea eggs and I know you said this a million times I will say it again the gift that keeps on giving and no not a good way I just remember sitting there the whole draft okay at some point they're going to ask the jets traded up the jets traded up the jets traded up any made all twelve picks I still to this day can't wrap my head around it and Johnny Jake is the only thing stopping Mike McFadden from being the worst general manager in jets history or my jets lifetime as bad as Mike McCann was nobody can hold a candle to John it's sick not run at eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six we had the queen's Benny boy what's up and and this is the arena I come into right now all right Hey thank god thank god thank god was that draft I still have visions of of all the great players that come out of Ohio state and we two goals then anyway home to be an exercise next week band so buckle up we're going to go through some all time draft busts and I'm sure there are a couple of jet names that will find their way into that equation that'll guarantee I have no doubt about that but you know what that's a perfect segue into into tonight's discussion because two of my team's offense and defense is going to be a part of this one I will go eighty two jets because of the second change all right the day was dominant they they were fed that will end the offense started clicking and if not for Mister Schuler not putting the part that she feels let alone a genius move that was bad because I lived through that one can you imagine band now for nothing if WFAN was around in nineteen eighty two and if I was here on this earth doing shows and it's all of you guys is Jeff and whether it's you either it's believes others a bunch other callers IRA Jeff you name it and you got me basically to gang up on and of course I would end up getting the last laugh I don't know if our friendship between freedom and I would survive a jet dolphin AFC title game I don't know that be a tough week very very tough with his six year old me would've been banned permanently from the station from that one let's put it that way I had a very slippery slope not weak word choice now with the the field choice down in South Florida on that given day yeah let's see the other team I will bring up is the eighty six jets for the offense of side of the ball the reason why it was Carol Brian Walker and tune we're clicking so well so well in the last five games of the season happens and it was like a nightmare and then freakin the wildcard happens with with with the the chief among feeling happy again and then we face the Browns and unfortunately his the connection eighty two mark Gastineau says could not hold himself up he takes a roughing the passer call comes over time I think we were in Goldsboro and get.

"That's only four years ago some believe in their first round pick was daringly alright we know about him their second round pick was Christian Hackenberg we know him their third round pick pretty good pick is Jordan Jenkins but like we just discussed trance he's not on this team right right Justin Burris was their fourth round pick your virus Brandon shell who is now officially gone now in Seattle you know the quality fifth round pick use okay I mean so the draft is basically dissipated what your odds what else they've operated shows he can play in the league yeah yeah I mean I look I would look at that pic is a bad one necessarily mean all you need to find some not even jams but quality in the fourth fifth and sixth round and over the last few years and obviously we can't blame Joe Douglas for this they just haven't they haven't found a lot over the last couple years or even a noble ones I mean we know that the litany of bad the you you mentioned our lead you know you you didn't mention Calvin Pryor you know you mentioned the milk you you know you didn't mention Kyle Wilson I mean we could go down yeah down the line of guys even guys if they got in the first round it turned out eventually to be a disaster whether we Sheldon Richardson you know a while ago but you know it never really panned out with him obviously we know what happened with mama Wilkerson once you got paid so I mean we could do it yeah it's even if it makes you not citizens house this is how you win in this league that's I mean you win in this by drafting well doubt about it it's one of the compliments look Dave Gettleman is at a very mixed bag as the GM of this football team there's no doubt for the New York Giants last year's draft still has a lot of promise and so far that's been one of the positive job Dave Gettleman's resume over the few years he's been here it's obviously not just one thing that makes you a winning team is doing everything but the draft is so so important obviously that's the next thing that we're all gonna focus on on how the jets and giants can make a big jump because let's face it I mean both teams of stone for very long time yeah quitting Williams I forgot to mention him the jury is still out on yes I I I I the jury's out but I I have major concerns with all yeah yeah no there's concerns I'm not I'm not ready yet to say he's a boss quite yet but I have a feeling Joe Quinn Williams may live in the letter to Williams work of he's okay but not the difference maker that he needs to be when you draft a guy his height is right there well let's hope let's hope he's at least that and not the disasters that we just mentioned no you're right you know what I mean because I right now I'm leaning towards disasters like we just mentioned I have to say yeah we're doing it we're doing a show five years from now there's a chance were kind of including Quentin that dust pan of bad draft picks throughout history in the lot of football to get to Chris visit nano of giants insiders joined us before very good guy covering the giants giants fan to which you gotta respect will join us coming up at three will check in with John Hammond more information about the break up between Tom Brady and bill Belichick of the New England Patriots Adam silver at some interesting things to say last night to certainly plenty to discuss of course we'll take your calls everybody seems to want to play in in Tampa right is that what I'm hearing everybody's it is Colin I'm up they want to go yeah yeah as Adam Schefter worded it best it's the lebron factor you know and you're on side somewhere okay everyone wants to play with him little different basketball football but nevertheless it's very very very dangerous yes but I guess the idea that all of a sudden now guys who never would be interested in signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now want to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that's the similarity and that's where it ends by the way that's the similarity that's where it ends between lebron and Tom Brady indeed even though they are two of the greats of all time as future indeed we'll get your calls coming up and going Roberts here in the afternoon until six o'clock tonight when.

"I do agree on good Friday afternoon so you're putting all Roberts in the afternoon at seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six is the phone number you're causal six o'clock who's coming away speed tonight is this the I Chris Waller less is more comes your way at six o'clock about that eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six the phone number Tommy look our thirty cost on the other side of the glass because we live where else the caliphate's eyestudio nobody nobody nobody and nobody on top of that but nobody the staff inside nobody solved by seven forty five this morning and imagine a bathroom my wife it's knocks on the door she says do you believe I recall in this I got hi I was going through my mind is that something happened with the jets that is the only reason I will be quality you know unless the call in radio because he's still in Florida try to rub it in all you know it's eighty two degrees out here in sunny you know I maybe could do that too right but anyway seven forty five so she doesn't pick the phone up then of course she goes right to her right to home phone and checks out the news and we find out about our number one draft choice from last year to another in a long line of great number one picks by his franchise Quentin Quentin however you say his name Williams is good try to get on a plane would have gone is that what basically what happens sort of I mean basically we got arrested at the delta checking cattle to check in so he's at the checking account outlook already on his way to Alabama I'm assuming I don't know where he was going but he had a permit for the Glock nineteen Glock nineteen Alabama the permit in New York the bluebirds at the Marion police domains are we still a pretty tough because I still going to be bluebird was here to get a better is that was the issue well the problem with plex whose actually went off line which was the only hurt himself but minutes ago yeah so that was what happened Hey you have a permit the permitting for in in his home state of Alabama which does you no good when you're in the state in New York and so we got arrested and I hate to say it but it's true the first thing that jumps into my mind is I think of the player I think of how not all full that's not the right word a disappointing he was last year you will think of it was a goal it was typical jet first round pick I mean look if you look at it because if you look at the last decade since when they traded up to draft a real Reavis you're talking about Vernon Gholston yeah you're talking about because I will soon you're talking about quitting cold bowls in you're talking about D. Miller and it hopped about Calvin Pryor you're talking about a little Intel mentioning another guy to okay so mixed in there that I won't throw as boss like Muhammad Wilkerson was not a boss right although he was busted yes more exchanges I'm not going to call urgency not a boss right M. Donald's got a bus yeah tomorrow is a place among the major model we can do is safe we say he's a player we don't know about Donald yet you got is the list but the truth is when I when I heard this story this morning first I think about Quinn Williams the football player who was a very big disappointment on year one in the NFL indeed and then the second thing I think of is okay is this going to lead to a suspension right so I started looking at the history of NFL players who've been arrested for various reasons some with guns in and if it ever turns into a suspension and what I came up with is that I think was shady McCoy was arrested a few years ago for possession of a gun not having a permit ended up being suspended for three games but he also had other off the field issues okay that off season so the truth is I don't know I don't know if he's gonna be suspended I don't know if he's gonna miss game right what I do know if we're not talking from a sports sense is that this was not this finest moment when it comes to intellect I would say that I would go I think that's a good point that'll go on a limb and say he wasn't being very smart about it it's okay you don't own a Glock nineteen it's okay to have a gun as long as you've got a permit right and you need a permit in New York right the problem is not doing any good right so it was a double by Quinn Williams but as a sports fan as a jet fan like you are I think about the player Quinton Williams and how it impacts this football team number one Quinn Williams needs to be a lot better in year two a lot better it's not fair for me and you to say he's a bus strike yes but I would say that he was a massive disappointment in your water well I I don't think there's any question especially when you see guys that were picked after him Josh Allen and all of us who were pretty good plays their first year right it makes you look even worse makes it look much worse and so for Joe Douglas who did not pick Quinn Williams and for Joe Douglas who did not pick Calvin Pryor yeah or higher will any of the previous guys we we brought up we're not blaming journalists for those moves but if the New York Jets and the new our giants but for this conversation the New York Jets are gonna make a jump in twenty twenty not just in the first round but throughout this draft in which they have two third round picks thank you Mr Gettleman if you're listening has Joe told you lunch on him yeah lunch on media we appreciate it yeah you've got to get it right you've got to get it right that's how teams improve look around the league look at a San Francisco was able to do it you got hit in the draft and you also have to be smart in free agency I was thinking about it Trent Williams now being available and I don't know what the price tag is going to be like to me it will talk to Mike Florio a little bit later maybe a love a better idea of what that price tag will be to acquire Trent Williams I know two things they gotta pay him which the jets can have about fifty five million dollars in cap room and be you've got to acquire him when I give up a first round pick for Trent Williams probably not I think that's too much yet but having two threes would I give up a third round pick and maybe a later draft Williams that's what I'm good I'm good with that and so I look at this offseason say you make a deal for Trent Williams and you lock him up you signed Jack Conklin who they've already been attached to some even indicating he's going to be in New York at to play right tackle and all of a sudden you look at this jet offense of line and you say you have something here and then maybe taking a wide receiver in the first run isn't the craziest thing in the world and then maybe letting Robbie Anderson walk away because someone's willing to pay him fifteen million dollars a year isn't the craziest thing in the world but we are a couple of weeks away from free agency to do my mind is starting to kind of write create situations that would make me happy as a jet fan and acquiring true Williams and signing Jack Conklin which is not gonna eat up all of your caps right all of a sudden you take an offense of line that spoke last year and it starts to become pretty damn good I still would might take an alignment in the first round even if they sign those two guys in those two guys well where they'll need left tackle right tackle you can use a first round pick on what I mean you've already I am highly important parts your offense of line I I scares me a little I I I would go and get one of them I don't know if I want both okay let's find one of them in free agency and draft the one that that's more what I would like to be the thing that and you could say this by anybody in the draft I get it we just went through all of the jet packs and none of those pics were all Lyman right but you don't know what you're getting when you draft a twenty two year old kid is big and strong as he is we watch Trent Williams is one of the best left tackles global watch Jack Conklin he's pretty good too so there is more certainty in free agency I know it's more expensive obviously you've got to spend valuable cap space require players like that both of those guys are relatively young Jason Peters is not relatively young is thirty seven thirty eight hours old not him that's a completely different animal well you are acquiring guys you've already seen play in your you know complete a very high level the draft as we always say features so much uncertainty and I would feel more certain about this offense of line by adding two veteran guys like that I understand I you know what free agency scares me too I mean I you know I'm not always I mean and it wasn't a free agent last year but they made a trade for a semolina turned out to be a disaster you want to try to bring him in on the office one but I got but I got to see I I I I say to draft a meme is a bigger deal to me because they've been sold bad you read the long we lit a laundry list and that's only in the last year and it's only first round we not forget we know how bad the second round I mean it's been a disaster and it is just the last ten years and we can go back in a million years and I I got a a twenty guys that were just brutal first round picks I mean a boy Thomas Johnny lam Jones just a call to have to have a mac yet but I mean is it just the last ten years that you you bring it up so to me they got it if this guy thought this is gonna come up big and and this is very disheartening when I hear about Williams and his you know who knows where we're just goes from here but this guy was not very good as a rookie and and where we want to see what happens now after this guy I don't know what I mean yeah I I don't want to minimize what he did what he did was very stupid but I don't think this is going to derail an escalation he only he's in New York yeah flag of leaving from New York to go wherever he's gone writing in the guardian yes how do you want if you doesn't have a.

"Cattlemen resume is very it's mixed it's very very mixed he's tried to rebuild this offense of line as he felt that it pretty much made shoulders look like a bad signing the wheel Hernandez traffic looks halfway decent that's how I would define that but I don't think in two years they've got a woman has been horrendous and to fire in my opinion to fire general manager after that short a period of time I I need to see all right the gentleman's going I I think Schirmer is not going to get a goal but here's the question is is the more poor he gets a call he should go I can get a man should go I don't think you should go but Sherman's gotta go gotta go I know sure was a terrible head coach I can't sit here definitively in self ghetto man is horrible when I say he's probably a C. grade over two years I think that's a fair is that a fair great yeah now go get some bad but I and I remember we talked about it sick came back to this I don't want a fiery GM after that short a period of time unless they all are eight plus horrendous you know within one business you don't know their historically bad I can't say that about him all you need to know his his his John it's X. two first round draft choices tell me with these guys on out I think they might be in a witness protection program de Milner and Calvin Pryor need I say more so in that goes back to need I say more than that that goes back to back the rest of the draft for determinable one picks in the two were the four number one Texas actually used for get a man is sick Walmart yeah angel Jones yeah dexter Lauren yet any angry Baker right we're right now I think you feel pretty good about three of them and the jury's very much out on Baker I don't think he's been historically bad or I got to get rid of my after two years now I get the records bad but he also inherited an awful situation from jury reached which we all acknowledge so that's not a vote of confidence for Dave got a man I'm certainly not giving that you know but I don't think no I didn't say I think you should stay but I think charmers gotta go that's all I would gals I supplied a giant situation and I that's the next two years that'll be the answer on down but I think general managers are very different that head coach is I think we head coaches it's not crazy to get rid of a guy after a year or two if you know that bad get rid of I think with the general manager in this really works in every sport it takes time to know how they're doing yep yep and right now yeah get only get to see I'm not given a midday mica tell you get would be much coaching is bad coaching any Amazons no there's no gray area you know you guys in a good head coaches will win was somehow competitive and win games and I'm not saying one super bowls but their win games what they have on the field and to be apart examples what's going on in Pittsburgh where he got no quarterback Mason Williams and then doc Hodges at a quarterback you mention it all these offensive weapons are it defense is good but then they are seven five in in in a playoff spot right now so if you have the right coach you gonna get something out of the guys your coaching if you were good at college and if you're a bad head coach then you're a bad a coach and you're gonna get nothing that's it and that's what Schirmer is no he's and he's into that territory yes bad Alonzo is the M. L. B. home run all rookie home run getting he also won the National League rookie of the.

"WFAN WFAN FM New York well the jets sell off one of their big pieces Leonard Williams goes to the giants it and bart you know I put it out there on Twitter and you can reach us at and then B. W. S. A. N. who is this trade deal like a lot of really intrigue more for the jets are for the giants an overwhelming the the responses right now are they like it more for the jets because if they were going to sign letter Williams to a contract anyway you might as well get some draft picks out of it and they got a third in a fit that could become a third and a fourth but man does this illustrates something on a deeper level that is alarming for the jets the last first round pick that the jets signed to a second contract was Muhammad Wilkerson I was in two thousand eleven the jets have drafted so poorly bark it's in some ways it's why they had so much cap space last year to spend because they have to pay anybody but man does that your show from whether it was easy or whether it's macaque man I mean Joe Douglas really has his work cut out for him and and and that's the point writing for everybody out there that may not be a jets fan right because you can be a giants fan you may not be as familiar with some of the draft pick so to draft pick bus over the last years because you more concerned with your team I hope you out a little bit right two thousand nineteen Quinton Williams jury still out right what we just saw Josh Allen who you passed on look like a dominant pass rush to guide you were looking for since John Abraham Berber perhaps right sound on a jury still out I didn't even realize mate then separate I forgot did they dress glad to does he even plays even still alive I don't know is he entered I don't know I have no idea right go back to Jamal Adams okay this is it right but then you get to dearly he's not here anymore but then you go to Linda Williams Devin Smith second round pick he's not he's he's no where right then to get dark two thousand fourteen only five years in the league in Calvin Pryor he's not even in the end of Alvy Moore five years out in in if only more let's go back to your before that Dee milliner terrible thank not even in the league anymore you know I had a lot of your career right yeah two thousand twelve seven years in the league not hard to do right well Quinn Goebbels does several and it takes me all the way home he defends DU skinny do second round draft pick but Stephen held stable how did you get that from that he was cut by the A. F. thanks to Steven hill any any those around hello can burst speaking of the AF wasn't in there for the Memphis express that's not the only TV was brutal for so let's go to two thousand I played eleven years everybody out there Carl Wilson well this is the first row we're not saying first row did somebody that's a pro bowler J. "Twenty nineteen from Nashville beginning Thursday at eight o'clock, PM, Lance Joe and Evan. What's up Thailand's? What's up how you doing guys? Well, what's going on at the top of this draft? It felt as if over the last two months, right? Arizona's taken column Murray they're going to trade Josh Rosen. And we move on is that really in Powell right now that I on may not take collartoo start this draft. I don't know, you know, there's. There's always a smoke just out there. And I I don't always buy into the notion that everything that you hear late is alive because it's not that's something that people say so that they can downplay anything, I think it's something that people like to say, so they can be a little lazy. They don't have to chase down the information and the rumors that come out, but you know, in this, particular instance, I think it's pretty interesting. I do think that I I know AirAsia has an interesting scenario when you when you hired cliff Kingsbury guy who had just been fired from Texas Tech to an NFL job that was highly unusual. It was highly impressive at it. So the idea in the thought was if you give him the right quarterback for his offense. That's what makes sense you need his his particular quarterback a certain type of quarterback drew on his office. So the Cuyler Murray stuff all made sense. But when you get an owner involved like Michael Bidwell, all bets are off the table. So if the owners has any say so in. Messy. You just drafted a quarterback last year. I think it is possible that there could be some some I don't wanna say warring factors, but some different definitely a divergence of of Pinon there in the war room where an owner and a GM and a head coach may not all be on the same page, and we all we already know who's going to win that battle. It's the guy who signs the checks. Mary thing might potentially be impair. I don't know what to make about. I still feel like the Josh Rosen. I feel like you put Josh Rosen through enough right now. And I don't think he handles that kind of stuff. Very well. Anyway, I think you're setting yourself up for some major quarterback failure. If you don't go here at this point. So you think they're going to take them? So you got right now is at number one. Kyle of Murray did a cardinal. My gut is Kylie word of the cardinals or that pick traded. Okay. I don't think I don't think the cardinals pick a different player. How is Kylie because only heard about his Arizona with Colin Murray. One other teams you hearing would be motivated to trade up to get them. Or is there a possibility he would fall if our Zona doesn't take them would somebody trade up for a different player? Or would it definitely be Cuyler Murray? I've asked about that. And and you talked to Kyla Murray's people, and they say Kyla Murray doesn't go one whoever trades in that spot is taking Kyla Murray. Well, I don't know that to be the case because I'll. I'll be honest with you. I hear a lot of people get excited about any of these quarterbacks. Nobody gets super excited. Like one of these quarterbacks must have a top four picks is just that you had a Niks such a unique situation with with clippings bearing Kyla Murray. So I think you know, I think there's a chance the raiders to be the wildcard picket four. But if he gets past four, I know the giants have done some homework on Kyla Murray, which which would be very interesting if Tyler Murray is there and available at number six people were plugging in Daniel Jones, either at number six or number seventeen with the giants right now. I think it'd be very interesting. It doesn't Gettleman profile doesn't fit the giants profile for quarterback. But one thing I've learned over the years. Hey, I didn't think I didn't think Baker Mayfield v John Dorsey profile for quarterback either. So I think some of these old school profiles. We've had that's really going out the window with the way the college game is having an impact on how the pro teams avenue evaluate and drag. Players from the collegiate level. So I do think Tyler Murray, though, could slide a little bit. I'm not sure it's a lot that he'd gone top four pick which is feels like between gentlemen, and Shurmur and drafting a running back last year in the priority the offensive line and probably running the football more it still feels as if they were an old school team. That's just because they're the giants. But because of the way they've acted over the last year. Yeah. I think everything about them is old school. And you know, I think the Shurmur higher, for example, he's kind of an old school guy Gettleman clearly as old school. I didn't personally have a problem with him taking a hall of fame running back with the with the number two pick. If that's how you're draft boards slots out with your quarterback for me. You know, I thought saquon Barkley was the best player in the draft all by quitting Nelson. But I had a high grade on Sam darnold. He obviously didn't have that same draft grade on darnold or he would have selected darnold at number three regardless of, you know, saquon being as as great as he potentially is going to be with that said, you gotta sit down and draft a quarterback at some point. You got two first rounders, and I just I can understand maybe Daniel Jones is your Cup of tea over Haskins. And I can understand the having a physical profile that you like for a quarterback. But I think an explosive quarterback like Murray. Yeah, you do have to alter your offense around that court and that specific quarterback. But I think it's very doable. I just don't know if the giants are open minded enough to do that. That's the question nicer. Let's say the giants is sitting there at six and all these quarterbacks that somehow Murray's they asking Dan Jones. They're all there aren't gonna take one of those guys Oregon is out everybody and take a defensive player. I think they take defensive players. They're all there. Because if they're all there that means your guy that you like is still on the board. And now you've got a chance to move up. If you need to depending on win the run on quarterbacks happens because here's what the thought is the quarterback Ron here the potential quarterbacks spots number four. And I think that's a little bit of a long shot. Obviously number six if we pass it on quarterback in number six, then you get to eleven at Cincinnati thirteen. The dolphins have been right. Everyone knows the dolphins aren't taking a quarterback. Number fifteen is obvious. A spot. I think the Denver Broncos at number ten is a potential spot. But I think they believe flacco is more than one or two year guy. So I I don't think it's crazy to think that the quarterback is thought he had seventeen I want to go back to something you said now. Meet at thirteen the Miami Dolphins who have Ryan Fitzpatrick right now is a quarterback day on sitting there. And let's say Haskins Jones, you know, or even Mari somehow is there at thirteen. They're not taking that cornerback. Don't make me say the T-word came forward detained can Joe Paolino. Look, you know, I hate the dolphins linen tank. But I'm just on his surprise surprise me would which one are you is the jets we remember both actually both have the Meridian aggravated because I'm the jets looked to be cute and never worked for a are, by the way. And I go I got a laundry with could give you of them being cute and not getting it done the right way. Now, I'm here at three hundred going down like that to begin with because I agree. I want his guys I want him want Bowles, Alan, acquitting Williams. I want one of those three guys. And now I'm here in and Oliver now on Oliver's turned into you know, mean Joe Greene. So you tell me at three what are they don't? I think they will try to trade back grey without question. I'll try to trace back, but if they don't have a trade partner that you've got some pretty good players. You just mentioned who you're going. You may accidentally draft a really good player number three. So like. Very well said accent Bentley right? What could could try to trade back for G for picks for the next GM or he could sit down and player number three. That's how long because I'm now you got me really aggravated. Okay. Of course. I mean, look I've seen it a million times. I mean, we we we we got a couple of hours. I could stop breaking them down for you for the last fifty years. But I but Thursday, so you see how long would they go in the first round. The redskins. Would they go that low? I think it's possible. Yeah. Depends on what you consider your biggest, you know, you're being needs. I think if well here's a problem. Biggest leader's edge pass rusher, isn't it? And it'd be one thing there at three, but don't take them. But don't take them on if Brian Burns's there at fifteen and you've got extra picks. I think that's pretty good. Who's Brian aren't you'll be there? Fifteen who's he? From Florida state address. You're from Florida STAN units. He's better than Josh Allen. He's battered engine, Nick Boza. He's better than these. Joey you go internally them wrong Lynch if the jets the win all the way back to fifteen they best beginning not one extra first round picks for jumped three the track repairs on next year. Another question. Yeah. I think you'd probably get a two this year on one next year or maybe three this Yanna one next year. You definitely getting a one guy from Florence saying Brian burns give you have been very Nevada. I mean, not three Brian burns. Nice. Trust me, the differences. He's got the right now all over them. The difference. Isn't that substantial between Josh Allen Brian burns that you sweat that? Not not a big an extra pick. Like, I said, okay. Make sure you call me back us burns. Thanks in Allen LT. Just makes you get back to me. Okay. I'll be retired lose your numbers. Retired. By the way, you reminded me. The jets have the greatest GM's they love their next administration are. This John is left. The next manager angles a cat, and now macaque may leave GM. Draft picks. John is number one picks demilner Calvin Pryor. I'm not saying. Okay. All right. Great. This is the franchise. Good. Good. Sashi brown. Did I hear all these ground apologists like Sasha's, the one that put all this in place for John Dorsey John Dorsey together made the picks into discussion. You could send trade away picks all you want. And I'm all for that. If you have a plan, but you don't do at some point. You gotta sit down and get core players. Yeah. You can have as many pictures you want eventually get the right guy. If you're the giants and we're talking to lands airline NFL nowhere. Can you sitting there at six and you mentioned earlier you don't love the quarterbacks not as deep of a field as last year, but they made the decision. They may have a hall of fame running back on their hands and saquon Barkley who is your number one guy. The number one quarterback at an perfect world of your the giant fans out. There you end up with Thursday's night. Well, my top guys Kyla Murray. I've got behind him. I've got Haskins just a little bit. Further drop to lock in. And I got David Jones is a is a middle second to bottom second type pick. Now, I think John's has a really good shot at being a giant. I'm just gonna walk right? No. I ask about that. Because right. The cut cliff, and he li- stuff and. You know? Pollen accounts college style passing attack look there. It's highly unusual to say quarterback with that size even be considered anywhere near the first. Now, it's highly unusual for like twenty got one year of you know of. Mitchell Trubisky, but it's not unusual for.

"It's it can definitely changed the game we've seen it for the steelers over the years it can completely change your game but all right this next one from mike spencer if you if you could go back to your first year of scouting or covering the draft and fix your biggest mistake from what year would it be he says his would be not having calvin pryor as a top ten player ooh that's a good one i'm trying to find i remember my first year my first year be are would have been two thousand twelve i guess so mattress richards i mean that that's the one i really wish i could change i think a lot of people in the nfl tell you the same thing but but do you think that trent changed as a player when he got to the end without a doubt that thing like it doesn't mean the evaluation was wrong yeah it just it changed yeah i mean he got hurt and then he gained weight and just had a lot of stuff going on off the field the one that like to be and i've told this story before but two thousand twelve at the combine at will i at the senior bowl spin everyday with the russell wilson then we go to the combine and i got to go to all his private workouts where you know like warming up the night before he was gonna throw on the field i had an end with his trainers they were i was twenty five years old or whatever they loved me so it was hey come tag along and i spent so much time with russ that year and i kept telling his agents is trainers like man if he were six to he would be my number two quarterback in the draft and hopefully those guys still like me enough that they would vote for me because like i it was it was just he was so amazing but he's my height and i just kept saying that there's no way there's no way and so i.

"The bottom or the middle part of the first round i mean aaron donald is is probably the best defensive player in the league he goes number thirteen and then you have just some of the best players at their respective positions in the nfl back tom and zack martin cj moseley kyle fuller has really started to come into his own in chicago just a really talented group they're going up seventeen and then rounding out the top twenty calvin pryor went to the jets safety from louisville he was a bus joon james for miami was a big the first really big surprise i don't think people expected that i think he's started to a solid players a solid right tackle for the miami dolphins and then brandin cooks who like sammy watkins he's going to be on his third team in three years that being said he's still number one he's an impact player and number two he's still getting traded for first round pick so it's not that teams don't think he's talented they just don't deal the maybe he's worth giving that big payday to or whatever it is but it it's interesting that you got to receiver selected in the top twenty there now on their thirteen and three years are still considered to be good players at the very least and sammy watkins two very good player and brandin cooks it's really interesting to me too because we'll we'll get to the final twelve year but you know the top ten was good but there were some mrs there then you have that unbelievable run and then you look at the bottom twelve nut nut not as good you know netted successful which by the way is how it should be probably right i mean the lower your picking in.
