I vouch for you in front of Todd packer. Now here's the amazing thing about this show is that we've never met Todd packer. He's only been mentioned one other time, which is in the pilot when he calls in on speakerphone while Michael is having a meeting with Jan. He says a bunch of inappropriate stuff and Michael just shuts him off the speakerphone. But you can tell in that phone call Michael covets this guy. He's the coolest guy. Best strategic move on the planet down there with that phone call, throw the election and the reaction to it, Throw the election down there to the Democrats and could the Democrats get control of the United States Senate on Tuesday? Yes, Andrea Publicans are very concerned about this. The president himself said this in the phone call Michael, he said, the lot of Republicans are upset and they might not vote. Now. Why are Republicans upset? They're upset because Trump tells him to be upset. There's even a number of people used the same analogy. This is like an arsonist who starts a fire and starts then calls the fire department that to put it out all of this anxiety around the country, all of this objections that people are voicing and we know from the coals. It's true that a majority of Republicans don't think the election was was valid. But why did they think that, Michael, they think it Because the president and all of his toadies have been telling them for weeks and weeks and weeks without any evidence that this election was rigged. In Georgia, the votes were checked three different times by Republican officials, and they came out with the same result all three times. Over 60. Federal judges have heard the cases and rejected the president's arguments. It's certainly legitimate for the president to ask for recounts. It's certainly legitimate for the president to go into court and challenge the results, but we're way past that now. Those judgments have been made. Those judges have looked at the evidence. Those decisions have clearly been accepted and What you now have is the danger for Republicans. Is that the president and he's gonna do it again tonight in Georgia. If he keeps saying the system's rigged the system's rigged a certain number of Republican voters might well stay home, and that could Swing the swing those elections to the Democrats because Democrats have been very effective at organizing, early voting and Georgia, particularly the black community, you black vote in George's over 30%, and it's gonna be about 90. 95 96% Democratic and that's the problem. Republicans have trump in his last desperate act to save himself. It actually turned the Senate over to Democrats. Or I was Steve Roberts, ABC political commentator. Now, Steve. If the Senate does go Democratic, my colleague Michael Riedel goes on and on. He has the same speech. How it's going to be a socialist agenda. The green New Deal yada yada yada. Could you please set my co host straight? They're not gonna be packing the Supreme Court in a couple of weeks and all this stuff that he's talking about. Is really not gonna happen. I couldn't agree with you more land. I think Michael is swallowing the fantasies of the most extreme Republicans. Let's start with the fact that even the Democrats control the Senate Republicans will have more than enough votes to filibuster. Against a lot of democratic, more extreme democratic ideas more than enough votes to filibuster. Secondly, look at who Joe Biden is no matter what you say about by he is by his essential nature, and he's been in politics for a half a century. We We have a lot of evidence about who Joe Biden is. And every single thing, he said, since the election contradicts what Michael's talking about Every single thing, he said, is I want to work with Republicans. I am basically a centrist in a moderate, I do believe in compromise, and I Believe him. I've known Joe Biden a long time I covered the Senate for The New York Times when he was a senator in the eighties. That's who Joe Biden is. Now. Will he get a lot of pressure from the A L. C s of the world? Yes. Well, you've got a lot of pressure from Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Yes, but the heart of Joe Biden. He's a moderate, centrist, pragmatic consensus builder who actually believes in compromise. And I think all of these scare stories about socialism just don't reflect A the political realities and the power balance in the Congress and be the essential nature of hooch.
