I mean, I think that going to Disneyland, you and I have been there together, Sherry and I think about Being there with my kids. My mom thinks made me go back through old videos on my cell phone of what Life was like at Disneyland before. All of this started even just a year ago and went to a Christmas party at Disneyland on and if you don't live in Southern California, California, you you may may not not get get it. it. All of the games that I've covered there over the years, the very first pitch by the Astros here and Dodger Chris Taylor slammed it out. Ah, home run, this crowd went understandably wild. How many times All of us were in situations like that in a stadium? Not thinking about a deadly virus. These Dodgers fans are celebrating. Right now They're waving blue towels in the air. And now many people here in L. A. I know I have numerous times have been testing at Dodger Stadium for cold, but it's been the country's biggest testing site cars sneaking around thousands of people getting tested every day that has ended. Now. This weekend, it's morphed into a 12,000 person, a day vaccination site like all over the country, iconic places that can handle big crowds are being turned into sites to get a shot. Disneyland's parking lot now has giant tent set up and now instead of it's a small world families will be going there to get the vaccine Sama Dodger Stadium, California Governor Gavin Newsom saying This is how we're going to get out of the pandemic, speeding up the administration, not just priority groups but also now opening Up large sites to do so, meaning Dodger Stadium, Padre Stadium, Cal Expo and beginning this weekend on radio and TV, New public service announcements raring trying to convince Californians of win their chance comes to get the vaccine when their number is pulled not to bypass the chance to go and get it. Good. 19 vaccines have arrived. You've been recommended by California's top medical experts because they've been proven to be highly effective now. Luckily, California is beginning to see hospitalization numbers leveling a bit. Sacramento's region in Northern California that stay at home order has even been eased in the last few days, but 300 miles south here in southern California, each leveling off a bit, but hospitals remain overwhelmed, and public health officials are pleading with people here. Just stay home. The damaging impact to our families and our local hospitals from this surge is the worst disaster our county has experienced for decades. That's L. A county health director, Dr Barbara for rare putting out her daily message. So now we turn to these iconic sites where it still feels like a movie that now they're mass vaccination sites. Not that long ago. It's where we gathered for fun. I have every hope is soon will be able to return his family's going out and having a good time, But right now here, at least, it is a battle reporting for perspective. B. C.'s Ryan burrow has the latest yeah they're too big components to what happened today with the goal of perhaps camping down some of the demonstrations and protests we've seen of the last forty eight hours first of all the governor is come out and said that he has now taken control of the state is taking control of the response to the demonstrations to these protests as of last night it was still essentially in the city of control and that while the National Guard had been added there seemed to be some confusion as to where the National Guard needed to be who they needed to be defending where they needed to be moving to at any given time that the governor called it an abject failure and admits that that will not be the case tonight and and the demonstrations and the violence that we saw I will not be allowed to happen by law enforcement side now that the state is in control and Ryan the other component obviously the officer's arrest tells about that a lot of these protesters and the family of George Lloyd had been calling for charges against the officers see kneeling on the back of Floyd back on Memorial Day and those charges have now called that officer Derek you job and is now in police custody he was taken into custody just before noon he now faces to each urges manslaughter as well as murder in the third degree now it's not murder first degree which is what a lot of people would like to see by the Hennepin county attorney says this doesn't mean that they won't push you further charges either more charges were harsher charges but this is what they've got right now based on the evidence they have access to and this is what is keeping shop in behind bars Ryan what about the other officers involved no charges for them yeah why yeah Mike Freeman may be have been county attorney said is I he is anticipating those charges will be coming would not identify what the charges would be but his main focus why shop and he saw him to be what he called the most dangerous perpetrator and they wanted to move as quickly as possible he's pointed out this is the fact that they never moved in a police case before I usually that takes a little bit more time but they they thought they had enough evidence with the video to us to make those charges happened today and officials as you noted at the beginning moving very quickly what kind of impact has this had on the demonstrators and riders well so far during the day as far as we know things have been somewhat tamped down but I mean there is definitely I National Guard presence you can see their vehicle stationed everywhere especially near the state capitol building where I'm at right now which is near where the police precinct burned down I'm looking at that concrete barriers that are keeping vehicles away of foot traffic is okay but they want to try to keep vehicles out of the area right now by the way at this is hours after this the fire burned and they're still lacking the grayish brownish smoke in the air you can still smell it from miles away probably not just the precinct but some of the fires that were started in other buildings as well and that's A. "Radio dot com I'm here in the studio KP case studio not too far from cal expo and mark is about to I don't know couple of thousand miles or more away in one of his one of his favorite hang outs we'll talk about that Orlando Florida mark eighty yeah something we're kind of landlocked here in Orlando so to speak but not too many boats around EM this is Orlando one of the most visited places in the United States and I can tell I can tell by the tone of your voice is it it's probably one of your favorites actually folks you know mark and I were talking before we went on the air in and he had this kind of gloomy tone about Orlando I mean I I go there to Disney world but which in which your overall impression mark you're there for a little conference of some sort I do believe that this is a place where they extract money from terrace that's their sole purpose in life here in this particular area and they they're very good at it and you can stay as long as your wallet can handle the stress I think I'm here for a travel conference looking at other destinations anything besides Orlando and other places for people to go no this is never been one of my favorite spots I've long contended that if Walt Disney had gotten one hell of a deal here none of this would be here now but at least the weather's nice here was eighty two here today Tom what what's it like in Sacramento let's see I think we're gonna top out at about fifty three years kind of chilly not not freezing at night but to definitely overcast pretty much all day we we almost saw the sun for a second or two you pointed out something that you learned while in Orlando and then has to do with the the price of gas if you got a return a rental car which is what your what your travel tip for those that may have rented an automobile in Orlando if you you know I'm I'm going back to the airport in the morning and so it's been a few years since last time I was here but last time I was in Orlando much to my surprise when I got that ready to return a rental car and I thought well you know I'll get gas when they get close to the airport I know that a lot of service stations in Orlando in proximity of the airport and when I got up to the airport very close there I looked and there was a corner with for service stations every single one of them had the exact same gasoline price at the time we were paying about three dollars a gallon in Sacramento when it was five ninety nine here in Orlando close to the airport so tomorrow I'll be filling my tank before I get that close to the airport and I'll give you a report back next week on how that goes but five ninety nine which was one of the reasons that I didn't like Orlando the last time I was here so anyways there are lots of destinations in Florida this just doesn't happen to be my favorite one I'll be back here in a couple weeks in Miami and then on down to Key West which is one of my favorite destinations so it does has nothing to do with Florida this is just one that is a little bit too touristy for my blood all right at the top of every travel guides radio show we bring up today what's been going on in.

Now, the office of homeless services is planning a new shelter at Cal expo Tuesday. The city council discussed and approved that plan key stakeholders in the fight against homelessness. Addressed the council before they voted on the item Howard Lawrence with Sacramento area. That everyone expects another large increase in the numbers of homeless. He supports the plan to build a new shelter in each council district council. Larry car express some concerns, but ultimately voted to approve the Calix both site. I think it's a good site. I think it's perfect for what we want to do. So we'll support it. I'm Brian Clark facing another possible partial shutdown at the end of the week. President Trump says he's not happy with the border security deal. It's been worked out by congressional negotiators ABC's. Karen Travers has details from the White House. President Trump has not said if he will sign a compromise deal reached this week that funds the government and address is border security, but the president notably has not said he would veto the legislation and predicted there would not be another government shutdown late Tuesday night. The president tweeted he was looking over the Deel and said the one point three seven five billion dollars for border security will be quote hooked up with lots of money from other sources the president today also taking on the Russia investigation and a tweet he says quote Senate intelligence committee. There's no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia ABC's, Mary Bruce has more from Capitol Hill, the Republican chairman Richard Burr says that as of now they have found no factual evidence of collusion, but he notes that their investigation is not yet complete. But the top democrat on the committee Senator Mark Warner tells us that he respectfully disagrees that he's not ready to draw any conclusions since their probe is still ongoing. The US military says it hit a mosque in eastern Syria in the fight around town believed to be one of the last strongholds for ISIS. Fisher say the mosque was being used as base by the terror group. "Lease your vacations. I'm Tom I'm in the studio. Right. Not too far from Cal expo and Mark boy, you're pretty close to about as far away as you can get. I know you were in New York for a beef brief time, we're gonna talk more about that in a while. But we find you in key Largo. Yes, sir. In twenty four hours. I have doubled my temperature. Outside temperature for sure yes, sir. Coming to you live from key Largo where we almost had a beautiful sunset tonight. But some clouds rolled in at the last minute. So group of sports leisure travelers are over across the street at the Fisher house, having a wonderful dinner the ever come down to key Largo, I strongly recommend that the fish house be a culinary stop for you. And as soon as this program is over my friend. I'm going to go over there and join them outstanding. So, you know, this is not the first time sports leisure vacationers have have made their way into the Florida area. Besides a key Largo what other areas do you guys? Visit well, Tom it's kind of interesting if you can't sell Florida to people from California really because what does Florida have. Well, it has sunshine has DisneyWorld has ocean. Those would all be things that pretty much California. Has it also has humidity. Which is something a California doesn't have. So. Oh, really to sell Florida to people from California gotta have something really unique and different. And so that's what this particular trip, which we do once a year is all about where we focus flew into Fort Lauderdale yesterday, and where I flew in from New York and met them. And then today we went to little tour of Miami and out to do an air boat ride in the Everglades in for folks who are from this part of the country. They've you you've probably done an airport right bride by the time, you're eight or nine years old. But if you live on the west coast, that's not necessarily something that gets onto your agenda. So folks, I find that folks really enjoy going out into the Everglades and getting a chance to see some alligators and in their natural habitat. So we're here tonight and then down for four nights in in key west before heading for home next Friday afternoon outstanding. We'll look we'll talk more about key Largo, and what you're up to a little later on in the program. But as we always. Due at the top of every travel guys radio program. We bring you up to date on what's going on..

"And nothing is more important to making sure all of the cast and crew are safe that includes the animals on set. Thanks to the passionate people of American humane. Can't. I did. Welcome back. Welcome back. Well. It's tough to get a handle on bass Fisher right now gave you a report from clearlake whether some fish being caught, but there's very few fishermen out there. Everybody wants to go prefinished for that crappy turn tournament coming up next weekend, which is full. But Mr. Don pag analogy can probably give us some insights on that. And also tell us a little bit about the youth. Fair out at Cal expo and he joined us Naga morning. Don. More morning. Bob. Listen dawn, I was planning on stopping by and seeing you and for some reason my mind got stuck in the past. And remember when the youth fair used to be north through that corridor out of building c on the other side of the fly fishing Bill. Yeah. Exactly. And I just kind of instinct, and then it's not there. But it's in the buildings as you come in the main entrance to the right? Is that correct? Correct. Okay. Concrete buildings Ford building there. Yeah. So we tend to take over that whole complex for the user. But they've got the trout line down there for the kids to catch trout. One hundred Eucation is down the archery. State parks is there with all their stuff? Couple of we'll body things going on. And then we've got fishing in the city. They've got flight time for the kids. It's a whole kit event down there, and it's all three fifteen and underwriting is all free community show. So they really encourage, you know, the families to come out instead of just dad coming out to go look at all the hunting and fishing stuff. And that's the way it used to be. I know I know. So now, they're, you know, they're trying to encourage, you know, bring the whole family out. So we see everybody out there today is going to be obviously a lot crazier than it was yesterday because they use their three o'clock yesterday afternoon. But. It'll be fun. I mean, we have. Speaking of the city where they're just casting with the kids, and you can get one of our flyers for all the upcoming events. Get on board with the website and stuff like that. So you can see all the events to continue to keep coming up through the year. And then we've got our our mobile fish down here for the first time is about three or four years. It's all been rebuilt. So we've got some trout in their up to four pounds. We've got some radio. You've got a couple of Jacqueline mental sectors in there. Yeah..
