"Or tweet at WWL AM FM. I guess this afternoon is Brian trashier. He's a spokesperson a board of directors member for the United Cajun navy. They are many names of Cajun navy Acadian. America's Cajun navy twenty sixteen Louisiana Cajun navy rescue Cajun coast even a Cajun army special forces. But Brian is with the organization the original one that has done some wonderful rescue work of in Texas, and they've been to North Carolina, Florida. And of course, here in Louisiana, we experienced so serious floods back in two thousand sixteen Brian. I've always wondered what coordination goes into outset of an operation. Do you guys have communication with your members to whether are divided into specific sectors or quadrants, and how is the is the effort coordinated is it similar to the military because I'm sure a lot of the guys in your group of former military, and they probably used to operating that way. We do have former military law enforcement EMT, different kinds of first responders. And you know, it it on the outside. It might look like a little bit of organized chaos. But basically what happens is when they decide or when they start thinking about deploying to a specific event. They'll start kind of getting together on conference calls a few days in advance and trying to figure out how many of them can go what assets can remove, you know, the we were able to procure an ambulance that we turned into a mobile command. We got a grant from Microsoft to to put a satellite technology to where no matter where they go. They'll have a wifi. They can use their cell phones. Because a lot of these areas that go to obviously cellphone towers, abound. Like like this happened in Florida. And actually in in in Lynn haven. The national guard was using our wifi signal because none of their phones would work either. And they only had so many satellite phones. But yeah. So they'll they'll kind of get together and decide who who can go. We'll they'll they'll try to pinpoint a target for first thing, they'll do was figure out a certain city or town to get to where they can be out of harm's way. And then went once this storm or whatever it is passes. Then they'll try to find another point to get to where they can have the most impact helped the most folks and a lot of times there's some coordination with the the national guard because usually where they're going that. That's where a lot of these these distributions and whatnot will set up and sometimes they just watch the Weather Channel and weather. You know, wherever Jim cantore angel of death. That's where the bad stuff is going to happen. So sometimes they swiped for that. Brian getting some text questions in one I want to get to before we forget about it up before this listener gets away. He wants to contact you. There's some people that wanna know they wanna honor the Cajun navy, and they want to some of them wanna maybe sponsored donate a join. What is the best way to contact you at the United Cajun navy? The best way to contact is go on Facebook. And look for United Cajun navy, and you can post on our site or on our page or Sunday, Senate.

"Cell. It's in the afternoon where politics and pop culture meteoroid, call 504-260-1870, text, eight seventy eight seventy four tweet at wwl AM FM. Now from Jefferson financial Federal Credit Union studios. Here screwed in the afternoon. Welcome back in its Don Dubuc filling in for scoot for these last couple of days of his vacation scoot should be back with you on Wednesday. Thanks for tuning in another topic. We're gonna talk about this afternoon. Cajun navy? I think a lot of us economy in the dark unless you've been involved in the cage navy about exactly who these guys are. And what they do. And. You know, one of the things that really surprised me and research in this was how many Cajun navy's are organizations that are out there we found this one called Louisiana Cajun navy. We found one called Cajun navy Acadian Americans Cajun navy twenty sixteen. The United Cajun navy Cajun relief foundation crowd source rescue Cajun coast Cajun army and Cajun special forces a little bit confusing to say, the least we have a secure spokesperson for the United Cajun navy, which I think is the first and original Cajun navy. He will explain that to us Bryant trashier who joins us now. Brian thanks for taking the time to talk with us about Cajun navy's hey, Don. Thanks for having me on today. Can you can you understand? Why I and probably a lot of the people are confused about who exactly what the Cajun Navias. Yeah. You know, the the turn cage navy used by a lot of different groups. And I it was obviously just a Coakley lives in that was come up with to describe people volunteers that got out on their own boats and went out and helped rescue people that were trapped in floodwaters or just needed some kind of water rescue. And because there were so many groups in so many different folks taken groups in different directions. But the founder of the United States navy. Todd terrible Baton Rouge decided that he wanted to have an organization that was not only going to be an actual legitimate nonprofit organization, but become one of the premier disaster response organizations that he was going to use his ability to recruit volunteers and people who had expertise in operating the boats and doing water rescues and whatnot. And it's really evolved into a lot more technology and back in may of this year. They they achieved their their five. Oh, one C three status, which I don't know how many organizations call themselves Cajun eighty actually have that. I know it's not that many. I don't think there's more than two or three. But I know that that we're one of them. Okay. So the group that that you and toddler affiliated with United Cajun navy, basically, you're you were formed back was a twenty sixteen when we had two major flooding around ascension parish and Livingston parish Denham springs area Gonzales, and I guess, thanks. The technology of the internet and Facebook people kind of got together and said look people need help. We know where they are. If you've got a boat. Let's go there particularly a shallow water draft boat. And it was strictly volunteers who who went there on their own time their own expense and performed rescues. And then from there it really started to to get a little fuzzy on what was going on with it. And and Cajun navy going off to other places in the country out of state to to assist with rescue missions in that type of thing. Basically, how is your membership formed? I mean, do you have registered members? Do they fill out something do they get a car or do you keep a roster on them? Or is it just a loose group of people who ever wants to volunteer just shows up? So we have a board of directors, which I'm a member of we have a kind of a core leadership team folks that are kinda like team captains. And all these all these people that serve like at the leadership level. Yeah, we all know gone through background checks things like that. And each of them will be responsible for recruiting volunteers when the need arises. And we we use a system called or we have used a system called pert in the past patriot emergency response team to to run background checks. It also helps run operations. There was not not just Facebook. During the Baton Rouge floods to twenty sixteen is a an app called Selo. If people have on their phones, it's basically like a two way walkie talkie, and that was really helpful in in in the dispatching of different volunteers of boats and finding different folks that route there 'cause they couldn't use their own phones in and we're just finding different ways to get in touch with us. So and then fast forward to earlier this year when a young lady by name Sadie tiptoe went missing and lake Pontchartrain. Her family in Baton Rouge reached out to. Todd and some members of the case in the United States navy, and they actually after the authorities have been looking in the lake for a couple of days they came down with their boats and actually put some drones in the air that we're able to detect wind and water currents and about ten or fifteen minutes after the drones in the air. They were able to recover her by or at least fine her body. So the authorities could recover it and that family could get some closure. The hurricane Harvey assistance. That occurred in Texas was was that part of your group that United Cajun navy? Yeah. So again, there was a lot of different groups that point out there. But the United States navy definitely was was one of the week groups going out there to Texas. They it's hard to really estimate how many individual rescues they may. But they know it was in the hundreds they say as possibly in the thousands. And then of course, they took an, you know, during these types of events, you make connections and relationships with people in agencies like FEMA army corps in the national guard. And sometimes he's folks will if if an event happens weather event, they'll just call up and say, hey, look, you know, if you guys have any volunteers you can get out here. You know, we need help and guys will pick up and go, and that's how they got more Carolina new out there for a few weeks and then hurricane Michael hit. Florida deployed to the city of Lynn haven just outside of Panama City. Florida and they were there for a couple of weeks fortunate to have general Honore come out there. Give them a lot of publicity looked at their point of distribution. The first drive through point pointy distribution center for supplies ever, set up at least honorary new of. So just things like that. It's evolving, and they're to the point now that since it's a five, oh one C three able to do some fundraising. And and, you know, we're looking at some brand partnerships with some really big companies that want to get involved and help in, you know, just we're just fortunate to have a lot of folks that want to reach out and get involved if they can't get out there with a boat or or a pass out, you know, MAURICE or water things like that. Sometimes they just want to donate money or surprising work grateful for them. It takes a collective effort. At what point does your group? United Cajun navy become I guess, you'd say deployed, oh, you wait until your requested from a first responding organization or an actual military or do you just make the decision? They need help. We're going, and that's it. So it it it can happen. Either way down, you know, the government at least at this point is never going to formally ask for two point. Because you know, we're an NGO in a nonprofit. But we're hoping that one day we can get to that point. We have a partnership with the government like kind of like the right crossing way. Does he get they get formally asked to come? What am I gonna ask individually like off the record or sometimes the guys will just decide that there's a need, and they just decided to pick up and go, and and whoever can go goes, weather, you or some people will meet them there come later, and the, you know, the one thing they're real good at is when they get into what we call the theater where the event is happening. They're real good at recruiting other volunteers locally and just kinda you know, almost a quasi deputising them as is United States navy volunteers. And you put together a team everywhere. We went that happened in North Carolina. And it happened in Florida a lot of ex military and just folks from churches and local community at get involved in it always just kind of seems to come together for him. Brian. I got a lot of questions for you, hoping stay with me a little bit longer wanna talk about coordination. And also, maybe some problems of how people can avoid fraud because anytime you get a noble organization like yours that wants to help and save lives and rescue people. There's going to be some bad guys in it at wanna take advantage of it and capitalize on it.

"All right. Karen? Thanks. We'll see it a little bit me south Florida morning show. But it's not just all swampy stuff and the metoo movement stuff. It's also the people who really need help. And that's what's happening in North Carolina. It is still really really tough situation. I bring this up because the president is going to head to North Carolina today. He's going to land at an air force base. That's really actually pretty cool. It's Marine Corps air station. Excuse me, cherry point, not too far from new Bern Newburgh. He's been in the news quite a bit. Because they got so much of that storm surge they got the double whammy of towns. Have they got massive storm surge of like eleven feet aired? They got a lot of the flooding because they're connected to rivers as well. It's been a tough tough area. Wilmington got a little bit of access apparently yesterday where people get in and out just because they have built a temporary bridges if you can believe that. But it's still pretty much cut off from the rest of the state. So it's it's terrible terrible situation. More than four hundred thousand homes and businesses still across the state without power yesterday. Like, I said before I saw a mayor of a small town in North Carolina needs said, I love my brothers and sisters in the bigger cities in our state, but we're a small town that has nothing and there's a lot like us. We're we're gonna we have no help whatsoever. Nothing. They're going for the main the main cities, I I guess because the most populated I guess, yeah. But you know, what though that's that's where the Cajun army and stuff like that the citizen. Rescuers does were they really come in, especially when you talk about a whole town or city cut off because the guys, you know, who they are. They're the volunteers with bass boats as they can get into the little nooks and crannies of these towns, and they learn as they go and the they literally this is no exaggeration rescued hundreds of people they're heroes. There's no other way to describe the Cajun navy guys are heroes beautiful mounted men. Beards. I love that they recruit with every state that goes. Starting in the by you nor Orleans had some bad storm and flooding. So they started this here. Those guys went to Texas last year to help out with Harvey recruited a lot of those guys were still part of it. The volunteer force for those two states have got to North Carolina. They'll pick up some of those guys and girls was the Cajun navy created from Katrina not for knows after Katrina as after a storm a couple of years ago. But yeah, that's, but it's growing, it's this volunteer. Awesome citizen force. So God love him. Oh, yeah. No. It created in two thousand sixteen. Yeah. Yeah. Real good for them heroes. I tell you absolute heroes that we have a lot of teams. A lot of millennials would be willing to join the Cajun navy. I'm gonna guess. No. And I know we're not supposed to pick on the millennials. We've gotten the memo stern talking to that is the audience of the future. Ricky, you cannot turn them away. I'm terrified I'm very close to it. Well, here's an example of this. Of america. Thi this is a growing movement like with petitions there marching in some school districts teenagers, all over the country are joining a movement to what protest against having to stand up in front of the class to give a presentation. I think you know, the reason why it makes them too anxious. May maybe it's because I didn't go to college. That's the reason why I don't feel like this the whole point of having the class is we get over feeling anxious. Literally, it's teaching you speak in front of people. Here's who started this mess. Protest. Started a fifteen year old high school kid who goes by Leon. Oh, I'm sorry. Lean L E N. I I don't even lean witnessed. Go on. Posted a tweet earlier this month and said, here's his quote, stop forcing students to present in front of the class and give them a choice. Not to. Okay. Her all her. It's a chick. Okay. We learn more and more on violated any rules. My chest. Over five hundred thousand combined re tweets and likes hundred thirty eight thousand comments a ton of which is supporting what she's saying. Because most of these kids are smart. They're just like, yeah. I gotta get out of this midterm deal. That's what I wanted to pioneer the no homework because it makes us anxious. I mean, come on, you know, school districts will cave some of them will oh they're going to have to its offensive you making the kids anxious. If you make them stand up. Yeah. Workforce fifteen twenty years, it's going to be a nightmare. Can I talk to somebody in customer service? They're just going to go. The corner. Yeah. I mean, they're protesting speaking the class was called speech. Wow. You probably shouldn't have taken the class then students elective welcome to the twenty twenty school year. We have announcements make we've changed the speech class title to speech or not your choice. All right coming up next. We've got more on the cavenaugh confirmation hearings. Where will she won't she testify who knows? And it's official Burton Ernie from Sesame Street are not gay. That's according to PBS, we've got an X Cuba.

"So marklevinshow power. Nice to have you with us. Ben Ferguson, filling in for the great one Marco van. He will be back with you next week can hurricane foreign. Is having a really big impact on the east coast. We're going to get you another live update from the ground from one of our affiliates. WB BT in Charlotte. They're going to talk with us coming up in about twenty five minutes. We'll have them there. What we're seeing? Now is unfortunately, five confirmed casualties deaths as foreign keeps battering the Carolinas to those people were a mother in an infant shower when a tree fell through their house killing them is so sad to see this. But also so encouraging to see how many Americans are joining together, including the Cajun army who are out there helping save people's lives as we're seeing the same type of flooding that we saw with hurricane Harvey down in Houston last year. A lot of people are coming together in these communities and people were coming in from other states to help people in these communities and get them out of these areas where they need so much help. I say all that to also deal with the reality of what's going on politically today as storms hitting Democrats decided at the with the leader Nancy Pelosi onstage to blame Donald Trump for post. Hurricane Maria suicides in Puerto Rico. Democratic Representative from New York directly blame Donald Trump for what she said was a spike in suicides across Puerto Rico after. They're terrible response from this administration. Of all the press conferences that Sheila jackson-lee and other Democrats could have had today. They could add a press conference telling people what they need to do and how they could make things better and everything else. I mean, they they could have done that. They actually have done that. They didn't. They could have given out numbers of places where people send money and get involved in support with operations of feed those that may be gone away from the house. They didn't do that. Instead. They decide to have a press conference to start the narrative that anything bad that happens because of hurricane Florence is actually the fault of Donald Trump. And the away to you start that narrative is to start saying that people died importer Rico because of Donald Trump and to double down on that on the day when this hurricanes hitting the already get that in people's minds. So when they do see something bad that happens, then immediately they will say well now, we know who to blame. It's Donald Trump. Here's part of what they said this press conference today this press conference happen today. We know now that this conditions resulted in almost three thousand loss of our fellow citizens. Whether it was from dialysis machines a medical care not functioning a loss of air conditioning in extreme heat or the site rate spiking due to despair, these death-toll can be attributed to Maria and the administration's response today. Sadly, we are watching. As an older. Enormous. Hurricane lands on American soil. And so the fact that we have been affirmed and reaffirmed at three thousand plus died, and as I've seen congressman Velazquez cry. Because people in Puerto Rico or committing suicide then I think what we're here today is to give solutions to plea for the money, and to demand that the administration stand up to its responsibilities realizing that the greatest job that they have been the American people are in war. The American people are in disaster. The administration needs to do its job. I mean, it's incredible. That on this Friday when this storms hitting the two narratives that are being pushed today instead of helping the people in the pathway that storm is one we're going to go after cavenaugh by saying thing happened in highschool, even though apparently the FBI is not interested in Feinstein's cavenaugh letter. The FBI will not be investigating Senator Dianne Feinstein's last second attempt to smear supreme court nominee Brett cabin. Are. We found that out. That's after noon. But don't worry. They'll push that narrative, and the other is well just know that if anything bad happens with hurricane foreign, it's really Donald Trump's fault. Because it's his fault that people died in Puerto Rico, not local elected officials, not handing out the water. The federal government sent down. They're not the clear what we found out was corruption the federal government down there with even how they were paying and high jacking the rates up and getting kickbacks on those who were supposed to restore power. How much of the goods and services in the money that we sent down there disappeared. Where where's the New York Times doing an article on that? They won't do it. Because it doesn't hurt. Donald trump. I want to get to your phone calls one eight hundred or I should say one eight seven seven. Three eight one thirty eight eleven one eight seven seven three eight one thirty eight eleven and see what you think about all of this. Let me go first. To marry Mary you are from Puerto Rico. You hear them try to push this narrative today that these people that commit suicide. It's really Trump's fault. It's the administration's fault year from Puerto Rico, give me your reaction. I I don't even know where to start to be honest with you. Let me start from the beginning. I I was a democrat up until recently I voted for Hillary. Unfortunately, I have a democrat my life. And this situation has really opened my eyes. My eighty Puerto Rico. My friend that works for the power light. That was sent there to help restore electricity. Puerto Rico has opened my eyes to what happened input Ligo where my roommate's from what I can tell you. It's other local government instead of restoring electricity. I in the hospital clinics. They didn't they actually decided to restore hospital to restore electricity and supermarkets and what shopping mall because for them. It was better for Puerto Ricans to go spend whatever money they had by clone. Instead of saving their lives in the hospital, which is the main hospital central maybe that hospital didn't have electricity until like, maybe seven days later, what Lyle the shopping mall, the main shopping mall. Even sounds line. Hot 'electricity. Days later. So you tell me what does Trump have to do with that nothing? Well, and we also found out about kickbacks that were coming back to the local electric officials when they were working to help businesses get in business to take advantage of people's desperation because their basic services were deliberately not being turned back on life was not getting back to normal because when you you have to spend more money, right when you are desperate for basic necessities. Well, you know, I know that there were a politics being held at the at the port ships that were standing at the poor waiting to be delivered on the mayor and the governor of Puerto Rico didn't do anything about losing excuses other roles where unbelievable or Roach Wayne possible. But you know, what she is the governor. She knows Puerto Rico more than anybody else. The mayor knows Puerto Rico more than anybody else. And to be honest with you, Trump has Trump, actually, you know, something now that I remember Trump went to Puerto Rico when he had the press conference. Remember that he was sitting next to the mayor. I forgot he I can't remember some of the local elected officials refused to sit and work with Trump. Well, I know that I remember seeing a press conference with the mayor President Trump in Puerto Rico, President Trump. Them. How many so far he said sixteen the mayor said sixteen I'm Ben Trump's a really sixteen. Wow. That's impressive. Not impressive. Because you know, he was happy to seventy or sixty people die, but impressive. Just such a major storm had only caught sixteen death the bay or a photo Rico said to him sixteen I understand that it was too. So I understand it was too. So for may, maybe for the mayor to speak about the total death. But you know, what you three thousand people die there as the mayor of the governor's fault. Because I know that Trump the impossible. We all saw. I mean, the Democrats me. So we are death that we're stupider. We don't we don't watch the news. We watched the you. I watch the news. This is why voting for them any. I am. I am. I don't even know how to express my feelings. How I am. I am. I can't believe that. I've been all my life. Lied about this. How lawyers they are. It's it's incredible. I don't know what else please help me out here. Well, let me say this. I'm glad that you figured it out. And I mean that sincerely because you got to see it firsthand and people are not writing these articles about the corruption which Maria's is a big part of the problem. And again, this is why today you have Democrats holding a press conference on the day that this hurricane foreign sitting saying that Donald Trump is responsible for suicides in Puerto Rico. So that that will be the story that will be in people's heads. So if anything bad happens with the storm, they can immediately blame it on. Donald trump. Lisa. You are on the marklevinshow. Ben Ferguson filling in tonight highly. So go ahead. Why you doing well? Thank you certification. My call great to talk to you. Give me your take on this. I take on this is I'm first of all like to say that I am embarrassed by Bill from Pennsylvania because I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm originally a New Yorker as you here, but I've been living here for twenty years that just somebody comes from this this state with such eight inch was mind blowing. I really think that people need to put the blame where it lies and they're accusing Trump of being political. What about the mayor and the governor that would make a deal with the truckers that will on strike in wanted to move those products to get it to the people that wasn't political. It's certainly watch. What about FEMA coming out and saying that that mayor and did not attend FEMA meetings because they had no intention of delivering that stuff to the people how they were they were making it political. But where's that story in the media? You never hear it. Also, I remember a radio station where on the team. A government official call the non image from Puerto Rico to tell the truth that the corruption. That they would move to stuff to get it to the people. And then they have the nerve to blame this president. It's unbelievable. And I'm disgusted by it. And you look at all of that water that is sitting down there on that tarmac waiting and the elected officials didn't hand it out, and they still want to blame. Donald Trump for that. Donald Trump's job is to get you the resources the local ex-officials job to hand out those resources in the most appropriate manner, and they just let the water sit there and rot. That's right now, what about that that made a nasty shock. No. That one that was in the middle of all of the yes. While people while she was claiming that people are suffering in dire dying. She had time to make a custom T shirt blaming Donald Trump. What about her pictures that came out of her hanging out with Gutierrez? Oh, that's no coincidence. Right there. I think what set up are. I think that Gutierrez that they set up their own people of Puerto Rico to suffer with that storm. So that they could blame the president for it. I think it was a political setup. I think it was a hit job. Well, they certainly wanted to make sure that the president suffered with the bad news. Lisa. Appreciate the phone. Call one eight seven seven three eight one thirty eight eleven we'll have more on this news of the Democrats again now claiming in a press conference today that Donald Trump's responsible for all suicides in Puerto Rico because of the storm that's his fault. Then Ferguson filling in for the great one. We'll be right back. folks today, I'm here to talk about congress. No, not about the upcoming elections. Those are very important. Now, I'm here to talk about hillsdale's groundbreaking new online course, congress how it used to work and why it doesn't and that title right there sums up why you really should take. This course, Hillsdale College teaches better than anyone anywhere the constitution. And how our government is supposed to work and in. This course, you'll learn exactly what congress should be doing. And what it shouldn't. And how it got to the state?.

These death toll can be attributed to Maria and the administration's response today. Sadly, we are watching. As another enormously. Hurricane lands on American soil. And so the fact that we have been affirmed and reaffirmed at three thousand plus died, and has I've seen congressman Velazquez cry. Because people in Puerto Rico or committing suicide then I think what we're here today is to give solutions to plead for the money, and to demand that the administration stand up to its responsibilities realizing that the greatest job that they have been the American people are in war. The American people are in disaster. Administration needs to do its job. I mean, it's incredible. That on this Friday when this storms hitting the two narratives that are being pushed today instead of helping the people in the pathway. The storm is one we're going to go after cavenaugh by saying thing happened in highschool even know apparently the FBI is not interested in Feinstein's cavenaugh letter. The FBI will not be investigating Senator Dianne Feinstein's last-second attempt to smear supreme court nominee. Brett cabinet. Are. We found that out that's afternoon. But don't worry. They'll push that narrative, and the other is well just know that if anything bad happens with hurricane foreign, it's really Donald Trump's fault. Because it's his fault that people died in Puerto Rico, not local elected officials, not handing out the water. The federal government sent down. They're not the clear what we found out was corruption the federal government down there with even how they were paying and hike and jacking the rates up and getting kickbacks on those supposed to restore power. How much of the goods and services in the money that we sent down there disappeared. Where's the New York Times doing an article on that? They won't do it. Because it doesn't hurt. Donald trump. I want to get to your phone calls one eight hundred or I should say one eight seven seven. Three eight one thirty eight eleven one eight seven seven three eight one thirty eight eleven and see what you think about all of this. Let me go first. To Mary, Mary you are from Puerto Rico. You hear them try to push this narrative today that these people that commit suicide, it's really Trump's fault. It's the administration's fault year from Puerto Rico, give me your reaction. I I don't even know where to start to be honest with you. Let me start from the beginning. I I was a democratic opportunity. Shanley I voted for Hillary. Unfortunately, I have voted democrat my life. And this situation has really opened my eyes. My eighty Puerto Rico. My friend that works for the power light. That was sent there to help restore electricity Puerto Rico had. Opening my eyes to what happened in Puerto Rico where my family is from what I can tell you. It's other local government instead of restoring electricity. I in the hospital clinics. They didn't they actually decided to restore hospital and to restore electricity and supermarkets and. Shopping mall because for them. Better for Puerto Ricans to go spend, whatever money they had by clone. Standoff. Saving their lives in the hospital, which is the main hospital maybe that hospital didn't have electricity until like, maybe seven days later what while the shopping mall, the main shopping mall sounds line cut electricity. Three days later. So you tell me, right. Does Trump has to do with that nothing? Well, and we also found out about kickbacks that were coming back to local officials when they were working to help businesses. Get in business to take advantage of people's desperation because their basic services were deliberately not being turned back on life was not getting back to normal because when you you have to spend more money, right when you are desperate for basic necessities. Well, you know, I know that there were a politics being held at the at the port. That were standing at the poor waiting to be delivered, and the mayor and the governor of Puerto Rico didn't do anything about it. They were listening excuses. The roads where undrivable or that the roads twain possible, but you know, what she is the governor does put a Rico more than anybody else. The mayor knows Puerto Rico more than anybody else. And to be honest with you, Trump has the top actually, you know, something now that I remember Trump went to Puerto Rico, and when he had the press conference remember that he was sitting next to the mayor. I forgot he can't remember some of the local elected officials refused to sit and work with Trump. Well, I remember seeing a press conference where the mayor set President Trump in Puerto Rico, President Trump asked them how many deaths so far he said speaks team. They bay you're set sixteen and then Trump said really sixteen. Wow. That's impressive. Not impressive. Because you know, he was happy seventeen or sixteen people die, but impressive. Just such a major storm had only caught sixteen death the bay or a photo Riego set to him sixteen. I understand that it was too. So I understand it was too for may maybe for the mayor to speak about the total. Death. But you know, what you do eat thousands of people die there as the mayor of the governor's fault. Because I know that Trump the impossible we all I mean the. Democrats. We are get will with the we don't know that. We didn't watch the news. We watch the news. I watch the news. This is why voting for them anymore. I am. I am. I don't even know how to express my feelings. How I am expanded. I can't believe that I've been all my life. Lied about this. How why yours if they are? It's it's incredible. I don't know what else to say, please help me out here. Well, let me say this. I'm glad that you figured it out. And I mean that sincerely because you got to see it first hand and people are not writing these articles about the corruption which Mary is is a big part of the problem. And again, this is why today you have Democrats holding a press comments on the day that this hurricane foreign sitting saying that Donald Trump is responsible for suicides in Puerto Rico. So that that will be the story that will be in people's heads. So if anything bad happens with the storm, they can immediately blame it on. Donald trump. Lisa. You are on the marklevinshow. Ben Ferguson filling in tonight highly. So go ahead. Why you doing? Well. Thank you, sir. For taking my call. Great to talk to you. Give me your take on this. I take on next. I'm first of all like to say that I am embarrassed by Dell from Pennsylvania because I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm originally New Yorker as you here, but I've been living here for twenty years. Somebody comes from this this state with such eight inch was mind blowing. I really think that people need to put the blame it lies, and they're accusing Trump of being political. What about the mayor and the governor that would make a deal with the truckers that will on strike in order to move those products to get it to the people that wasn't political. It's certainly watch. What about FEMA coming out and saying that that may urine governor did not attend FEMA meetings because they had no intention of delivering that stuff to the people how they were they were making it political. But where's that story in the media? You never hear it. Also, I remember a radio station where on the. A government official call the non emotionally from Puerto Rico to tell the truth that the corruption. That they wouldn't move to stuff to get it to the people. And then they have the nerve to blame this president. It's unbelievable. And I'm disgusted by it. It is. Get all of that water. That is sitting down there on that tarmac waiting and the elected officials didn't hand it out, and they still want to blame Donald Trump for that. Donald Trump's job is to get you the resources the local ex-officials job to hand out those resources in the most appropriate manner, and they just let the water sit there and rot. That's right now what about that? That may what a nasty shock. No that one that was in the middle of all of the while people while she was claiming that people are suffering in dire dying. She had time to make a custom T shirt blaming Donald Trump. What about her pictures that came out of her hanging out with Gutierrez? Oh, that's no coincidence. Right. That I think what set up. I think that good that they set up their own people of Puerto Rico suffer with that storm. So that they can blame the president for it. I think the political setup I think it was a hit job. Well, they certainly wanted to make sure that the president suffered with the bad news. We appreciate the phone. Call one eight seven seven three eight one thirty eight eleven we'll have more on this news of the Democrats again now claiming in a press conference today that Donald Trump's responsible for all suicides in Puerto Rico because the storm that's his fault. Then Ferguson filling in for the great one. We'll be right back..

But where's that story in the media? You never hear it. Also, I remember a radio station where on a government official call the non from Puerto Rico. Tell the truth. That they would move to stuff to get it to the people then they have the nerve to blame this president. It's unbelievable. And I'm disgusted by. It is. Get all of that water. That is sitting down there on that tarmac waiting and the elected officials didn't hand it out, and they still want to blame Donald Trump for that. Donald Trump's job is to get you the resources the local elected officials job to hand out those resources in the most appropriate manner, and they just let the water sit there and rot. That's right now, what about that that made the nasty shock. No that one that was in the middle of all of the people. She was claiming that people are suffering dire dying. She had time to make a custom T shirt blaming Donald Trump. What about her pictures that came out of her hanging out with scoots here rash? That's no coincidence. Right. That I think what set up. I think that good that they set up their own people of Puerto Rico suffer with that storm. So that they can blame the president for it. I think it was a political setup. I think it was a hit job. "Is having a really big impact on the east coast. We're going to get you another live update from the ground from one of our affiliates. WB t- in Charlotte. They're going to talk with us coming up in about twenty five minutes. We'll have them there. What we're seeing? Now is unfortunately, five confirmed casualties deaths as foreign keeps battering the Carolinas to those people were a mother in an infant shower when a tree fell through their house killing them. We is so sad to see this. Now, I say all that to also deal with the reality of what's going on politically today as a storms hitting Democrats decided at the with the leader Nancy Pelosi onstage to blame Donald Trump for post. Hurricane Maria suicides in Puerto Rico. Democratic Representative from New York directly blame Donald Trump for what she said was a spike in suicides across Puerto Rico after. They're terrible response from this administration. Of all the press conferences that Sheila jackson-lee and democ other Democrats could have had today at a press conference telling people what they need to do and how they could make things better and everything else. I mean, they they could have done that. They actually have done that. They didn't. They could have given out numbers of places where people send money and get involved in support with operations a feed those that may be, you know, gotten away from the house, they didn't do that. Instead. They decided to have a press conference to start the narrative that anything bad that happens because of hurricane Florence is actually the fault of Donald Trump. We know now that this conditions resulted in the almost three thousand loss of our fellow citizens. Whether it was from dialysis machines a medical care not functioning a loss of air conditioning in extreme heat or three site rate biking due to the despair these death toll can be attributed to Maria and the administration's response today. Sadly, we are watching as an. Other enormous hurricane lands on American soil. And so the fact that we have been affirmed and reaffirmed at three thousand plus died. And as I've seen congressman Velazquez cry. Because people in Puerto Rico or committing suicide then I think what we're here today is to give solutions to plead for the money, and to demand that the administration stand up to its responsibilities realizing that the greatest job that they have been the American people are in war. The American people are in disaster. The administration needs to do its job. I mean, it's incredible. That on this Friday when this storms hitting the two narratives that are being pushed today instead of helping the people in the pathway that storm is one we're going to go after cavenaugh by saying thing happened in high school, even though apparently the FBI is not interested in Feinstein's cavenaugh letter. The FBI will not be investigating Senator Dianne Feinstein's last second attempt to smear supreme court nominee Brett cavern. Are we found that out? That's after noon, but don't worry. They'll push that narrative, and the other is well just know that if anything bad happens with hurricane foreign, it's really Donald Trump's fault. Because it's his fault that people died in Puerto Rico, not local elected officials, not handing out the water. The federal government sent down. They're not the clear what we found out was corruption in the federal government down there with even how they were paying and high jacking the rates up and getting kickbacks on those we're supposed to restore power. I I was a democrat up until recently I voted for Hillary. Unfortunately, I have voted democrat my life. And this situation has really opened my eyes. My family Puerto Rico. My friend that works for the power light. That was sent there to help restore electricity. Puerto Rico has. Open my eyes to what happened in Puerto Rico where my as from what I can tell you is the local government instead of restoring electricity. I in the hospital clinics. They didn't they actually decided to restore hospital to restore electricity and supermarkets and shopping mall because for them. It was better football weakens to go spend, whatever money they had by clone. Standoff. Saving their lives in the hospital, which is the main hospitals called central. Maybe that hospital didn't have electricity until like maybe seven days later what while the shopping mall, the main shopping mall in line cut electricity three days later. So you tell me, right. Does Trump has to do with that nothing? And we also found out about kickbacks that were coming back to local electric officials when they were working to help businesses get in business to take advantage of people's desperation because their basic services were deliberately not being turned back on life was not getting back to normal because when you you have to spend more money, right when you are desperate for basic necessities. Well, you know, I know that there were politics being held at the at the port ships that were standing at the poor waiting to be deliver. On the mayor and the governor of Puerto Rico didn't do anything about it. They were just listening excuses other roles where undrivable or the roads way possible. But you know, what she is the governor knows Puerto Rico more than anybody else. The mayor knows Puerto Rico more than anybody else. And to be honest with you, Trump has Trump, actually, you know, something now that I remember Trump went to Puerto Rico when he had the press conference. Remember that he was sitting next to mayor. I forgot he I can't remember some of the Iraqi local elected officials refused to sit and work with Trump. Well, I know that I remember seeing a press conference where the mayor set President Trump in Puerto Rico, President Trump asked them how many so far he said sixteen they mayor said sixteen I'm Ben Trump's a really sixteen. Wow. That's impressive. Not impressive because you. You know, he was happy to seventy or sixty people die, but impressive just such a major storm had only cost sixteen death bay. Or a photo Riego set to him sixteen. I understand that he was too. So I understand it was too. So maybe to speak about the total death. But you know, what you three thousand people die there as the mayor of the governor's fault. Because I know that Trump the possible we all side. I mean, the Dherinia. Democrats me. So we are the stupid the we don't know that we didn't watch the news. We watch the news. I watch the news. This is why I'm voting for them anymore. I I I don't even know how to express my feelings. How I I doubt it. I can't believe that. I've been all my life. Lied about this. How lawyers they are. I it's it's incredible. I don't know what else to say, please help me out here. Well, let me say this. I'm glad that you figured it out. And I mean that sincerely because you got to see it firsthand and people are not writing these articles about the corruption which Mary is is a big part of the problem. Hi, how are you doing? Well. Thank you, sir. For taking my call. Great to talk to you. Give me your take on this. I take on this is I'm first of all like to say that. I am. Embarrassed by Dell for Pennsylvania because I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm originally a New Yorker as you here, but I've been living here for twenty years. Somebody comes from this this state with such eight inch was mind blowing. I really think that people need to put the plane where it lies and they're accusing Trump of being political. What about the mayor and the governor that would make a deal with the talker on strike and wanted to move those five bucks to get it to the people that wasn't political. It's certainly watch. What about FEMA coming out and saying that that mayor and governor did not attend FEMA meetings because they had no intention of delivering that stuff to the people. They were they were making it political. But where's that story in the media? You never hear it. Also, I remember a radio station where on a government official call the non emotionally from Puerto Rico. To tell the truth that the corruption. That they would move the stuff to get it to the people. And then they have the nerve to blame this president. It's unbelievable. And I'm disgusted by it. It and you look at all of that water that is sitting down there on that tarmac waiting and the elected officials didn't hand it out, and they still want to blame. Donald Trump for that. She had time to make a custom T shirt blaming Donald Trump. What about her pictures that came out of her hanging out with Luis Gutierrez? Oh, that's no coincidence. Right there. I think the setups are I think that good that they set up their own people of Puerto Rico to suffer with that storm. So that they can blame the president for it. "I did. But I was pleased to see that Donald Trump who has the power to make hurricanes happen also has the power to slow down this one. And and he did so and so I appreciate his intervention. I'm very well. Played raj. I love it. That's exactly right. He he makes it appear. And then he he's able to minimize it. When it happens. Hurricane. Bob Muller continues to dominate the headlines. And today, we man if it hadn't been for the hurricane the media would have really been celebrating as they apparently are are super happy that Manafort is somehow flipping cooperating doing a bunch of stuff for the life of me. I did all the reading into this. I don't see any mentions a Russian collusion. But I'm sure there's got to be something in their Russian Russian. Why somewhere right? Well, he is pleading guilty to crimes that occurred way before the is involvement his four month involvement with the Trump campaign. And and having nothing to do with that campaign having to do with they campaign for president of the Ukraine over Ukraine in Europe. Having nothing to do with the two thousand sixteen campaign or any role of Russia or China or Clinton or anybody else in that campaign? There is however some storm clouds here because a deal like this is not arrived at lightly, right? And one of the things that happens in a deal like this. I'm told is that the the suspect Mr. Manafort here makes a proper that is an offer of the kind of information he has that would be valuable enough to the federal prosecutors to enable them to recommend to the judge that the judge go lenient when it comes time to sit and some for this laundry list of crimes that were committed years ago. So he made that proper, and they accepted it another words. He must have said something, and he's the only one in that famous Trump Tower meeting with the with the Russian. Yep. That was supposed to reveal dirt about Clinton. But apparently has not the the and was supposed to be the lynchpin of the of the collusion issue. The he's the only one now who has flipped and has started to talk. You know is obviously this is the goal that Mueller would have. So what did he say the proper? What did he say? That was so interesting that Mueller accepted it what does Mueller going to do. They're not going to they're going to hold off on all sentencing until Manafort comes forward. So apparently, all he's made a proper of what he might say. He hasn't yet said it so with that understanding I think there are some storm clouds on the on the horizon here, do you think? Because I mean, remember there was the assumption fueled in small part by Rudy Giuliani that there would be no more shenanigans. Once we got past Labor Day and got closer to the election. Is is that all off the table, then because we've we've got this proffer, and we've got this offer. And we've got this acceptance. No, I think what will happen is. This kind of thing will go on the colon has yet to reappear in the headlines, for example. Right. But there will be no Mueller. Otherwise, there'll be no Mueller stuff numbers. He's not going to give a report to congress because he won't give that report to Republican House. Right. He's wants to give that report to a democrat house, which will you use it for impeachment. So there won't be a report there'll be this kind of headline if they can get Cohen to come forward, for example, they'll be another headline with that. But so far I thought the headline was interesting that George popadopoulos loopless or whatever his name is from the campaign for ten seconds in which he was a third ranking intern. Yeah. That he said, you know, I never did do anything with this. So there was also a very interesting non collusion. You know, also non interesting also non-relevant compared to the good news about the economy. Yes, there was I think they'll continue to drip, drip, drip about this. By the way. In terms of the good news the economy, did you happen to see record revenues going into the coffers, Raj? We were told that the tax cuts would bankrupt us. In fact, it hasn't. Revenues are increasing to the federal government as art Laver. And everyone who studies this at we'll tell you if you cut taxes, the economy increases and the amount of taxes paid actually goes up. That's true. The problem with all that is that the the revenues are not going up fast enough to accommodate the increases in spending one of my big criticisms of the Trump administration is that spending is now gone up eight percent. Yeah. Since the Obama years when the when I thought spending was high enough with twenty trillion dollar deficit. So the Trump years have not slowed down the spending, and that's an issue, although the tax cuts have increased the revenue. We will we will watch that very very closely and carefully as we get closer and closer to to to the election and beyond obviously cavenaugh still floating around out there. Now, we've got some more details. Does this move the needle for you at all Diane Feinstein at the same time as catching a fair rationale from the from the Democrats who are angry that she sat on this information is any of this going to matter or does this represent an opening for the metoo injection into the into the debate in an effort to slow down Kevin to the bench. Well, the contents of the letter basically leaked now, and the except the woman's identity has not the reaction of the left, including Feinstein's democrat opponent in the coming November election of Kevin Dillon. Criticizing her for having sat on the on the letter having had it in the summertime and not and not made it part of the hearing. Indicates to me that the letter is not going to be as explosive as everyone thought not only has cavenaugh, of course, denied the allegation as he put it unequivocally, but the the friend who was supposedly they're in the room when this action happened Mark judge by name has come out today denying that episode ever happened to any surprised anyone would ever say such a thing. And he said, I never saw anything like what was described and sixty five women who did go to high school at the time that Cavanaugh was at this old boys all boys school and the girls from the all girls school nearby, sixty five of those women came forward today in a letter saying that they never saw anything like that that he was a, you know, a gentleman in highschool and nothing like that ever happened. So I think the left is saying oh boy too little too late on this one. We thought we were going to do another Anita hill. And there's no coke can. Well, by the way, Anita hill has. Come out and said that Kavanagh's accuser deserves a fair and neutral process Roger. Of course. And one preferably after the November election when everything will be fair. Absolutely. Right. Well, said Cory Booker wants to make one thing clear, Raj. He's not Spartak has never intended to become Spartacus. That was all a big misunderstanding. Understanding. Well, first of all, of course, first of all Spartacus was a white man. So we know that Booker is completely blown it here. This is nice. This is. This Booker backpedaling because he's been made fun of in his favourite liberal columnists in New York Times and elsewhere as well he should have been because Booker and camera Harris who edited a video to try to make it look like having said something he didn't say in other words, they just lie and and edited propagandize, and it isn't working. I mean, a lot of people who are paying attention are paying attention. And if something real is gonna come out on this guy. Let's hear it. But these guys were clowns hearing, I mean there it's Baresi. I think Cory Booker and Kamala Harris have tube their their their aspirations for the two thousand twenty presidential nomination the Democratic Party. In fact, my money's now on ebony Eddie, oh, no not avenue. Please. No, no, please. Did you did you did you watch his exchange with Tucker yesterday? Did you did you catch any of that? I did I read about it. And I thought that you know, because I can't watch Tucker Bundy I've read about it. And I thought, you know, if you're gonna be bamboozled by, you know, dick Carlson sun, then you, you know, you gotta go back to the minor leagues for couple of seasons. Wow. Well on Mark the tape there shots fired. I love that a love that. I love that garage. Okay. Finally, finally, what are we to do with these people looting in the wake of this hurricane? I I have a modest proposal ride. My modest proposal is this is a federally declared disaster area. Right. They pre-disaster the area. They got the declarations all that. I think if you are caught looting in a federally declared disaster area, they ought to upgrade the charges and send you a right into the federal system in charge. You charge you with a federal crime there for for looting in a federally designated disaster. I know we would have to change the statutes which is what I think they ought to do. But this is just this is beyond the pale, Raj. Well, it is. And I think the sheriff is sending a pretty good message Brunswick county sheriff here in North Carolina. John Ingram says look. You gotta break into a business or you're going to break into a car because it's flooded. And all this. We're going to get you and we're going to arrest you, and we're gonna put your jail, and you're going to spend some time. So he's he's he's making some serious. You know, as as you say serious charges and serious felony charges against the folks that are involved here. But having said that you're absolutely right. It's a federal issue right now. Although what is it? What did they call this? This this rescue navy? Composed of all these private the cage the Cajun navy boats. The Cajun navy navy now see what we need is a Cajun army. Oh, yes. Yes. And and I think I think the community ought to take care of this problem in its own way. Oh, boy another. Hey, listen, these things happen and the Cajun army, we've got a caging Justice system. We work all that stuff out that Raj. And that's that's that's that's what we get. It's just it's it's remarkable to me. I'm just thankful that North Carolina has seen fit not to have a prop forty seven fifty seven because these guys would have ended up being allowed to keep the stuff and be able to walk free. You know what I'm saying? There would have been a job training program awaiting. I think that I think we ought to remember that in the in the. Riots in in Los Angeles, the Korean shopkeepers and others. Yes, had no problem defending themselves against the black looters by pulling out guns blazing away some of them if you recall that situation and pretty interesting stuff. So I do I, but I do think that this sheriff is taking it seriously. And because it made the national news here. And and it's been talked about so much. I think it it'll these other sheriffs, and these guys are elected officials in these communities in mind. That's right are going to be coming out with a very strong statements as well..

"The great one Marco van. He will be back with you next week and hurricane foreign. Hi is having a really big impact on the east coast. We're going to get you another live update from the ground from one of our affiliates WBZ t in Charlotte. Now, I say all that to also deal with the reality of what's going on politically today as a storms hitting Democrats decided at the with the leader Nancy Pelosi onstage. To blame Donald Trump for post. Hurricane Maria suicides and Puerto Rico. Democratic Representative from New York directly blame Donald Trump for what she said was a spike in suicides across Puerto Rico after. They're terrible response from this administration. All the press conferences that Sheila jackson-lee and democ other Democrats could have had today they had a press conference telling people what they need to do and how they could make things better and everything else. I mean, they they could have done that. They actually have done that. They didn't. Hey could have given out numbers of places where people send money and get involved in support with operations of feed those that may be gone away from the house. They didn't do that. Instead. They decided to have a press conference to start the narrative that anything bad that happens because of hurricane Florence is actually the fault of Donald Trump. And the away to you start that narrative is to start saying that people died in Puerto Rico because of Donald Trump and to double down on that on the day when this hurricanes hitting the Ardy get that in people's minds. So when they do see something bad that happens, then immediately they will say well now, we know who to blame. It's Donald Trump. Here's part of what they said this press conference today this press conference happen today. We know now that this conversation's resulted in almost three thousand loss of our fellow citizens. Whether it was from dialysis machines, a medical care not functioning a loss of air conditioning in extreme heat or the suicide rate biking due to this despair. These toll can be attributed to Maria and the administration's response today, we are watching. As another enormous. Hurricane lands on American soil. And so the fact that we have been affirmed and reaffirmed three thousand plus. Died and as I've seen congressman Velazquez cry. Because people in Puerto Rico or committing suicide then I think what we're here today is to give solutions to plea for the money, and to demand that the administration stand up to its responsibilities realizing that the greatest job that they have been the American people are in war. The American people.

"In. America I'm a veteran thank you. For your service thank you thank. You, for, appreciate that but we had only two enemies Back, in the. Eighties nineties we studied what our enemies flew. Drove they were. Rushing tanks Russian airplane they. Were tiny. Tanks Chinese airplanes that was. The date that has not changed That. Has changed also the handbooks for the military Russian aircraft in the Chinese Cajun Army plane Thanks President of the United States and and let me tell, you why are you on a speakerphone of some sort because your audio is a little in and out. Here? What what sort of maybe this is? Better. Yeah what, what what did you? Do what changed you? Make I just turn down the, volume I. Think. Okay go. Ahead I fact that that our country and people like your, last I don't mean to be. Disrespectful believe that Obama was the reason for. Crime For basically the fault, of all. Of. Our economy. And they believe president the reason why he believes Russia over, our own FBI and our own. Security agencies is because he doesn't believe that What do I do is incredible It's just incredible well let me let me. Let. Me ask you this question okay what would have you expected him to? Say he's standing next to Putin he's asked a question he, could, turn to Putin. And say yeah this little Riesel next to me was the guy that, led Russian meddling in the campaign and I just told him inside the room, that if he, does, that again. Will do x y and z what what? Did you want him? To say what I firmly believe In, our intelligence and. That, we may have a disagreement and that he may not. Know. Everything that goes on his work but I believe I believe my my? People he can believe is people and say that he would, have, been that would. Have been a finance and and that would have been an answer that, that I I too would have expected and that's why I said last hour, and I'll say, again, that he. Wimped out in my opinion but the question? Beyond that is okay Candidate absolutely he is. He is bought, and owned by the wrestling cut okay so. Then let me ask you this okay Okay so so if. He's. Bought known by the by the Russian. Government Why? Did he? Throw sixty, Russian diplomats out why did he was forced congress do that you know he was not forced by congress to do that that you wrong on that he was forced, because that, was the result of the the, guy who the guy the the. Attack the chemical? Attack on the? The. The former Russian agent in London why did he why did you I'm going to? Tell you? I thought, about this and you're you're right I'm going to the one thing that was mentioned during the whole process where they were basically kicked, out of the country was that, the FBI, sure at most of those people, those people were I think it's. A term that? They will use Well many many people in in in, any, of these consulates, of any country you. Would assume were. Russian spies why. Did he why did he, bombed Syria Putin is is is, he didn't. Really bombed Syria I mean honestly giving the head dropped he told the Russia's to move their people away well maybe he. Didn't wanna start World War. Three that he he he, hit fifty nine. Missiles in there he then hit he then hit All right For the second time he had serious second. Time did. That's that's that's who Putin's propping up. Here aside if I'm if I'm, gonna impose I'm going to impose military threat or military. Accident somebody I'm definitely not going to give them the. Heads, up well maybe you don't want to. Kill me you're gonna hit a Syrian. Air. Base okay that's what you're gonna do because that is where the the poison gases left. Left from so you're gonna hit that, bass navy you don't wanna kill a whole bunch. Of Russia's now he did kill a bunch of Russian mercenaries the second time is that a cover for for his relationship..
