And so a lot of our work has been to try to break those silos and stated with stronger together. But we're fighting the same wolf, which is structural racism, and it affects everything. "To. This is something that's been out there for a while, people is either fighting in the distance. It's been discussed by us in Washington for a long time. Go back for just a second if you would, give us sort of the foundations of what this is, what it may be intended to be, what it actually is, and how everybody listening to this podcast is affected by the CFPB. Okay. Well, everybody is affected. Everybody who basically gets out of mortgage, the lack of competition, we had actually one of our co plaintiffs in a lawsuit. People and people that we were representing in a lawsuit against the CFPB longtime back that raised some of the same grounds as the Supreme Court is now hearing the community bank, which had not had a default in decades because they knew everyone. It was the state national bank of big spring Texas said that they couldn't make mortgages because weight of the red tape. And this is basically Elizabeth Warren said that you basically should regulate loan products like coasters that the disclosure was not enough. You would need to give a loan has proved to be faulty. I mean, never mind how we've given the way people use it a type of loan. The government needed to ban it. And you needed the consumer financial protection bureau just like the consumer product safety commission. I think about her analogy, especially now that the Biden administration wants to ban gas stoves for their own good. So it's not really good to have the government interfering too much in the market for kitchen appliances or from mortgages, but also one of the things that Barney Frank Barney Frank and Chris Dodd when they were making Don Frank was they put in and unaccountable head of this agency that could not be removed by the president, except for malfeasance. So it was not an independent board like, say, the Securities and Exchange Commission, federal communications, board and where you had people of both parties. It was like a cabinet secretary, but it was one that served a fixed 6 year term that could potentially outlast the one of the presidential administration. And on top of that, it was not accountable to Congress either because it did not get its appropriations from Congress. It got its appropriations from the Federal Reserve, the money the Federal Reserve makes from selling from selling dollars. And this agency with no accountability would have just incredible reach not only of over consumers that get mortgages, but just for any small business that extends credit, including like, say, an orthodontist that spreads out payments because can't pay for their kids braces, all at once or a butcher who may, who made you that, you've got plans with buying out pay later, this CSV has jurisdiction over all of that and yet no accountability. Somewhat the accountability was fixed in a court case with when they ruled that the president does have removal power. And of course, Biden, even though he's now complaining about the CWB should be independent was fired as he had the right to do. President Trump's appointee on the first day on the first day in office and appointed an acting and then got confirmed Rohit Chopra, who's the head of it now. And that's something the next Republican administration is going to do, but as long as they don't, as they are shielded from congressional accountability, they lack with the appropriations they lack that pillar of accountability that so many other agencies have and the Congress can't use its power of the purse strings to exercise what and make them more in line with the voters wishes..

"Will apply it someday. When you deal with stuff for you build, there's a whole other issue here where you now own a lot more of that supply chain. So you may have included open-source packages, which brings us back to our SCA acronym. You may have built your own code and synap includes a lot of pieces that address problems with software you built. In fact, according to some people, see nap includes AST, which is application security testing. And that's a whole bunch of stuff that doesn't typically play any role for sec ops teams. So it wouldn't be part of CSP or CDP. But wait a second. So it's CWB. This actually is funny enough. I think what Anna said is actually kind of clear. And CW pp very much lived in the world of software you buy. Yes, I think that's fair. It's like, I don't think anything didn't see WPP documents and people who deployed it said anything about anybody writing software. All the software comes and shrink wrap. You can see WPP growth. Nobody custom writes anything. But synapse lives in the modern world where what a surprise people write software. And they have infrastructure as code. And they have either stuff that's software looking. So maybe that's why I see WPP became at 2010s acronym and not 2020. Is that correct? Because it lives in the bygone era. Yeah, and it's kind of given away by the fact that if you look at the kinds of requirements that people associate with synap, there are often things in there that are like container security or infrastructure as code or sort of patterns that you just didn't have on premise because either we never got that far into automation or they evolved essentially in the cloud just because of the way that things happen. Okay, so let's switch gears and shift to my least favorite acronym that starts with the C and that acronym is of course seem.

The interesting thing there, this could go on for a long while, talking about the ins and outs of this, but it's not like very many employers require that CWB. We have a trademark, so if you look at in my email signature, you'll see I spell it out as a certified wildlife biologist, there's a little trademark R there. But some people just put CWB, but you don't necessarily necessarily guarantee you a job or get you a more pay or it's just not required. It's a really nice thing to have though. I did it for two reasons. One, at the time, well, first of all, just to support my professional society, it's just something offered by the wildlife society and this is the right thing to do. And it's got a nice to be recognized by your peers. But also I was working in the timber industry at the time and any little thing that you can do to demonstrate that you're credible wildlife person and even working in industry. There's perception factors there when you work in industry and because I've had consultants tell me it really helps them sometimes to have that certification behind their name and it certainly helps and professional testimony, those kinds of things. People just may view you a little bit differently if it's promoted, but the work's the same. Yeah. Well, I mean, I could imagine just being recognized as a wildlife biology in a society that was that Aldo Leopold had a big part in, I mean, it's just kind of a cool thing for a wildlife biologist.

I don't if you're noticing it was following some of this is the scanner Traffic. Twitter handle CWB Chicago. They follow the stuff that's out there, and they put the stuff That's got a little bit of humor. Uh, dispatch disturbance 5500 Black North Winthrop collars, and that's pronounced north North. North went broke. The neighbor removed the bucket and then proceeded to, uh, toe pick the parking space of thinking. Sergeant says I'm right around the corner. I'll go tell him no dibs, lights and sirens. Here we go. Yes, I didn't see a picture on social media of somebody using an ironing board for Gibbs. I've seen buckets I can use, you know, strikes me if you're visiting overseas, and nobody's visiting right now, But let's say you were Visiting, you know another country and driving around Chicago. We would. Would you start thinking the people iron outside here in Chicago? They shared just hang out or the family dying in the in the parking space and from this is very peculiar is their lawn furniture on the streets? Exactly How that looks to people okay? And we've talked about dibs and you know, I can see it from everybody's perspective. I will say this particular snowfall. If you didn't get out and shovel and remove it within 24 hours or so it's now frozen into like solid blocks of ice. And there's no way to Tomo move a lot of it with just a shovel like you need. You need a backhoe or something to come in and scoop it out. So you know, I'm kind of pro tips in these. Yeah, I was gonna say Get your ironing board. Get your with your get your old projection TV Put wheel it out front. I'm surprised someone who doesn't He does Resale like online doesn't just go scoop all that stuff up. I guess it's so Oh, yeah, not to mention it has been sitting out in the slush and mess for Quite a while, I I did see somebody was going up Elston today and saw somebody whose car was kind of in case like the tires there. Snow was kind of halfway up. It was clearly had moved the car since the weekend Snow. Ended it all frozen, and this person was had a shovel. Shovel appeared to be plastic, and they were just making no progress for your car. A little thing for them. You just want to know. So I kept on driving. Oh, but then you're a busy guy. I see. My dad always said you gotta have the shovel in the trunk during the wintertime. We just need an assault or the cat litter. Over the cat letter that Z. That's the best I can I share with you some really good cove. It numbers that we continue to have, because you know, we've been talking about how rough it's been for nearly a year now, so I was just looking at it some of the numbers and you were there. States reporting 3100 new cases in average for the last seven days or so. I mean 3100 average cases a day compared that to mid November when we were more than 12,000 Day. A knave ridge of 58. People are dying a day of covert. Now we're at 154 people in December. Vaccination. Also going up. Well, Illinois, his leg behind other states today or yesterday. They have 65,000 doses the vaccine out. So the numbers are trending certainly in the right direction here in Illinois, and they have been for a while and the other stunning number I think to think about is 3150 people hospitalized. Across the state with covert right now, 3150. Hurt more than 12,000. People in the hospital in November shows you how far we've come. I mean, that's Ah Gee, I just look, I'm hopeful because now the vaccines are rolling out. You're right. Nothing not going too fast as we like. And the appointments aren't that easy to get? But soon the people who want to get the vaccine will get vaccinated. We know that will happen, and it's the most vulnerable are protected. You know, it's Let's get going. I'm ready to reopen. Yeah. Yeah, I'm too. I mean, did you see in some places you can actually go to a bar that does not serve food and sit inside and get a drink? That's possible. You know? What is that? Like for cut? I'd only actually I've been going to this great spot called my kitchen. Porn a drink? How are the drinks There? They mean they're still here, and the commute home is is great. The commute to bed is great, although I did hear Dr Anthony Fauci on TV saying already. Let's not go crazy Super Bowl Sunday. Let's write, you know. Hack into bars, and there are still some some limits 25% capacity and in the city and suburban cook at restaurants and bars, so hopefully that will, you know, keep down the super spread from Super Bowl weekend. Did you see the CDC recommendations for how to celebrate during the Super Bowl? Oh, gosh. I hope this went better than that. Poor lady in New York state recommending how to safely play tennis. Uh, during during covert. You remember that? Is some poor health director and don't touch anyone else's balls. Oh, did that come out wrong? Yeah. Did the whole thing came out wrong, But this one I don't know how wrong you think it is. Clap. Stomp your feet or bring a handheld noisemaker Do not shout. Do not cheer and do not sing. As you watch the Kansas City Chiefs take on Tampa Bay. You need to clap. Do not pass. Go. Do not collect $200. So if you have any leftover noisemakers from new years or something, take those out. That's what you do. What did you do? And also if you're going to attend any type of gathering, even if it's small, bring your own food, drinks, plates, cups, utensils and condiment packets. That's always a good idea. I never liked. Yeah, you got that You got the kind of a germophobe caramel popcorn you got People licking their fingers and going back for seconds. The dip bowls. I mean, come on, Let's face it if you really sort of scrutinized that, what would you like? What you heard? I don't think you would. I don't think you would. E. I'd like to eat a lot of the beginning of the Super Bowl party because then later it's anybody's guess. Exactly. There's all sorts of. Yeah. The cheese cubes have been sitting out for about four hours. Gigolo when the cheese cubes start to perspire. Don't eat him. Uh, it's the dip. I worry, but I'm sorry. All right, Let's hear about dicks more because it got it. There's ah investigative report you have Yes, Tonight We're looking into South suburban dicks. More Folks down there have been telling us that they have had water problems for more than a year. They involved pressure problems. Sometimes the water pressure's so bad, you know, they turn on their faucets, and it Basically spits water at them, you know, in short bursts. Sometimes there's not enough to do laundry. Todt. Sh is not enough to flush toilet paper. There's not enough water pressure sometimes. And the reason we started looking into this is because Dix more now invented has an underground leak and has had for more than a year. They've called contractors. But then the village, which is cash strapped to begin with, doesn't pay the contractors to try to find the leak. So then the contractors refused to go back. The leak doesn't get fixed. And meanwhile Dicks Moore's water bills, the village buys its water from neighboring Harvey. They've doubled. Because there's this leak underground. And so.

"9 44. That's a Gauguin goo goo, ga ga Go Go at the Gorgon Gas! Stop showing off! John. We did that at 9 44 this morning. It's now 11 37. That's our speed jokes. Replay it sponsored by Team Hochberg. After we did that last joke. A lot of you said, Oh, yeah. What about this? So you haven't heard the end of the Google Gaga family of jokes? I don't want to mention any names, but one of the people that sent me another wrinkle to that has the initial Steve Alexander. So if you're tired of that line wait until tomorrow And now you know who to blame. Took me a while to get that meteorologist joke. So you're a meteorologist? What's the weather going to be like, Doc? I'm having trouble pin. Hey, listen that you said the NASDAQ is up 200 points. No. Well, yeah, right at 200 right now. That's 1.5% higher. Okay, That's a lot for the NASDAQ. Well, we dropped 2.6% yesterday. So we have still got a ways to go to get kidding where we were yesterday. Notice that I was I don't know what to notice any more. This is I was still frustrated. Terry Savage is so good and I didn't have time for all of our knowledge. It did not have time for all of her knowledge, and she was explaining to us. Why did I ask her to explain to us short selling? But the bottom line is if some people are we're not talking about trillions of dollars. We're talking about billions of dollars for hedge funds. But I'm just wondering if like there's some scheme out there. I don't understand where A guy can't cover his game stop short, and so now he has to borrow money away. He's bankrupt, and he's a hedge fund. And that means he's managing billions of dollars and mutual funds are tied up in that the next thing you know, your house is worth 57 cents, so I you know, I'm just wondering if there's a series of dominoes and it all starts with this stupid video store. And if something larger is going on here than just a rich guy got kicked in the pants. And I took this away from the conversation with Terry. You're okay. Large guy got kicked in the pants. But it's just not going to trickle down to change your life that much. Unless you're some sort of day trader or your hedge fund, And I'm not of that. So I'm going to count on that is fair understanding of where we are on this story, and otherwise, it's just a fascinating thing that we all marginally understand. Right? It is fascinating. Rex Huppke in the Tribune today, said this This is Rex Huppke Ease column He's good on Twitter. Financial world has been consumed by news that a swarm of ordinary investors from a Reddit message board managed to drive up the stock prices of game stock in AMC Entertainment, causing Wall Street hedge funds. Had bet against the company stock to lose millions. Here's his next sentence. If I'm being honest, I don't know what most of the words in that previous sentence mean aside from game world and swarm was the ones he knew. The rest were like, maybe a little little lady. I'm feeling you, man. 11 39 on WGN. Where do we start here? Miss Garris on some of these phone calls 3129817 to hundreds of phone number. Hey, Mike, you're on the air. How can we help you today? I'm doing good, but you know, I'm a little disappointed in your last guest. First off, I'm tired of everybody from the city or any city sponsored or subsidize business organization. Coming and talking about once we get the money from the Biden administration. What have you been doing with the money? You have a long long It's not mana from heaven. Second of all, the only way to keep criminals from committing more crimes and becoming repeat offenders is the lack of up until their trial and parking, a police car and empty police tire with the lights Flash and And having the police happened then and go back to the station isn't solving anything. These some of the things we talked about, she didn't like. I don't think she liked my idea of cars with the lights flashing on city streets to make people feel and be safe. I like the presence of the police downtown, at least for the time being, but I guess not. Everybody does. I don't know what the solution is. If it were simple is lock him up and throw away the key that I'd be for it, But I'm not sure that works that zoo where you and I kind of have a problem. If you watch The news. They never tell about people. Getting arrested on the 2nd and 3rd time for the same charge. But if you reach CWB, you're the patch they listed. Keep the repeat offenders in prison. Okay. Thanks for the phone call. I, uh when I get to be king, you're gonna be in charge of that. Be careful What you ask for their Dan. Thanks for joining us. Laurie, you're on WGN. What do want to say, Laurie, you're on the air. Hi. I just wanted to say that A lot of times when they steal a car. They carjacked cars for the chop shop. Many cars, the popular ones anyway. They're worth more in pieces, and they are old art. You see, huh? That used to be I I've I've heard that about the Honda Accord of all things that no court piece by piece is worth more than 100 cord on this on the street. I write, and so when they take him, they want to get a specific conduct cord type with these parts of this year, and that's what they go for. I still don't understand that. I mean, I've heard that in the past. I don't know if that's what's going on. Now. I don't know what's going on. Now. It just seems to me to be a bad business model. Okay, guys, let's get some guns. We may die or go to jail. But let's get some guns. Let's steal some cars. Then we'll sell the muffler to somebody who could go to a muffler shop and get it for $180. But instead they're going to get it. What the insurance companies don't always where they're getting the parts from That's the problem. They want the cheapest parts from they don't even care where and it could be somebody who's maybe second selling a chop shop item. Laurie, When I get to be king, I'm going to put you in charge of the Carjacking situation. What are you going to do? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, You don't want that, do you? No, no, thank you. I appreciate your insight and thoughts on this. Thanks for calling. Okay? Sure she goes. Uh, Dan, you're on W GM. Thanks for calling it. What can I do for you? Yeah. I was wanted to talk to you a little bit. About what? You were talking about the malls having charging stations for electric cars. Yeah. And, uh, I just want to let you know that it doesn't really your kind of comparing the two cars between a gas car and, uh, let your car electric car any minute. I said that if if I need to get my gas card going, I have to go pay money at a gas station for gas. But there are stations where you can go and get your electric car recharged for free. I'm all for encouraging electric car..

"On the CW, innit? You're telling the stories of athletes have overcome incredible laws to maximize the potential as you've tweeted. It's something that you would hope would come about. The better part of a decade and a half. How excited are you that it's finally here? And the dream now is becoming a reality. I'm really grateful man. To be honest, like I think timing is something that you don't understand in real time, but you understand it. You know, as you get older as time goes on, and you know that being a father and husband and all the things that you do in your personal life. And I feel the same way now. I mean, what I saw last week in this country. I think, regardless of whatever line you're on, you'd say it was horrific when you're talking about the nation's capital, and I think that the world needs some inspiration right now, and I think sport Provides that dramatically right? We've always I've always felt like the best quote unquote scripted film is like a football game or a sports game. Our story of somebody competing doesn't get much better than that, and that's what we have. And I think the eight short films It all meet the moment right now, In terms of all of us, I mean, a little bit of an inspiration and for me personally, this journey I've taken the show everywhere. And I've heard things that I'm sure you've heard before. Which is You're not enough big of a celebrity. You don't have a big enough Twitter following or YouTube subscribers and everybody said no up until the CW and the CW carries a show called All American, which is based on Spencer pacing or who, you know, played it. Oregon play in the NFL. ONDAS stories. One that's really powerful. You know, we grew up in East L, A. And Crenshaw. They went to high school in Beverly Hills, and that's what the scripted shows about when I said in front of the CW executives. Give them the pitch about this show about telling stories, and he said, I think we have the home for it. Let's call it all American stories. You go tell eight of the best stories you can with your production team. Go to town on it, And then after they saw the first two, they said, we need to put it on prime time TV. So was like the ultimate example of we got in the door, and then we did the work. We got there, and that's been my life as a walk on right. It was give me one rap coach and then I make a play earned another one and another one. Even as a broadcaster s. Oh, it's very comforting in terms of the environment. On the competitive nature that was necessary for me to, you know, push this along the lines, But I learned throughout time that it can't just be me on my laptop. Like I had such a good team and one I'm talking about, like the people that piece it together that she W. Obviously Spencer, our production team, the head of it, you'd love him. His name's Taylor Cavanaugh will walk on wide receivers Oregon State just like me, who got a scholarship. Our mind. Sentimentality is very much aligned. And now we got to go tell stories that I think will blow your mind. I think you'll sit back with your kids or every watching this and And I just said it on TV are not going to try to compete against the national championship. But when you watch it, I think it will make you a better person and I'll make you get off the couch and be better or whatever you're doing. And that was the only Task that we have from the CWB said. Get people off the couch and offer some inspiration. And if there's anything I've tried to do in my whole life is do that around sporting humanity. And I think this series means that moment. Yogi Rock is joining us some property, man. I love that. I love everything you just said. I love everything about the process. And you know this is what is anybody because you point out this is not just about a TV show or even a message. You've spent your entire life doing. This is not how money knows that you get. It's how many yeses you get. And all it takes. Is that one big? Yes, and you got to keep coming back. You got to keep fighting back. Let me ask you this as somebody who's always looking to learn and grow. How much of these interviews and this process in this project? How much of it has expired? You inspired you on a personal level. Dramatically then so there's a woman tonight you're gonna learn about her name's scalp acid, and she's from San Diego. That's what she resides. But when she was six months old, she was burned in a fire and lost her leg. Then her parents dropped her off on the front step of an orphanage in China, and she never saw sunlight. She never saw books never saw TV show until she was eight years old when she was fostered to come to America Now mind you with that being said when she was in this orphanage, she was abused. Nobody built her a prosthetic. She built it herself out of a leather belt, nuts and bolts and masking tape. Talk about grit. She came to America at £22 at eight years old. They've got her first running prosthetic get 14 and in her first race, which she came in dead last, and she said, I felt like the shackles of my life came off me. Now she's the fastest woman in America to ever run in the Paralympic Games in the 100 M dash. But as I sat across from work, it was the same exact day that I was told that the Pac 12 in the big 10 season were canceled. And I sat there saying how was nice, Like humming and see my family like what is my future? I remember having those thoughts in between interviews. And when I sat across river, she looked me straight straight in the eye, and she said, Yogi quote. All you got is all you need. And when shall pass. It told me that someone who lost your leg in a fire at six months old was dropped off on the front step of an orphanage by her parents, and then went back to China as an adult.

Part of it has been invoked before When presidents have had to undergo flask. Easy as part of a medical procedure of the fourth clause of it, though, has never been used in the whole time. Attorney Cole says the atmosphere is ripe for such discussions. But should the 25th amendment be invoked? Yeah, sort of this perfect storm of conditions have a lot of anger.
