"You've got extra energy, extraneous energy to expend have you 40 year old Feliciano having already played single three sets of singles ridiculous. So the reason that Colombia and the USA were out of the running no matter what happened in their ties that Italy Swann through from that group in Turin Yannick sinner, Lorenzo sonego both one two singles matches for Italy. So Italy are through to face Croatia in a quarterfinal in Turin on Monday. Now Croatia needed world number one doubles pairing Nicola met chichi mate pavage to get them out of jail a little bit to get them through after Marin Cilic. David Ye man, Marin. Managed to lose to sambal piros. Yeah. The world number 282. Yeah, that did happen. What happened will happen there? Well, and till it was winning comfortably. And really should have won the match. And actually the same thing kind of started to happen in his first rubber match as well, winning comfortably in an exciting get tight, but he got over the line. And I mean, look, first of all, should I say Croatia are in the quarterfinals? I've said that when the whole thing because of my theory of having one strong singles player in the best doubles team there, well this one, he was helped out by the no hope alongside him. Nino Cedar rusic managed to win 6 four 6 four against Fabian mods and in the first tie, it was that chip in the first one. It was called Borneo. Born ago. Got the wins. I don't know what he did to do wrong to get dropped. But anyway, it worked out because Sarah do 6 managed to come in and change that he was dropped after he was brilliant. So Croatia have got this amazing blend, and then income, parrot just went just in the Nick of time. You know, and it was plumbing nipping first set. They managed to win it on a tie break against and nagi from Hungary 8 6. And then they won the second set 6 two. So yeah, Croatia through Yannick sinner, Bangor's my theory that he might be struggling with the occasion. As I said earlier, he is for the loss of just two games two 6 love. But for some reason, I think it was last night, wasn't it? He ended up playing a match that ended up nearly three a.m. in the doubles, but what on earth was going on there, Matt? I told you tennis would find a way. Yes. You were right, and I was so naive to think that they'd sorted out the schedule this year because we got to the weekend and something there were 6 matches again and we were playing at three o'clock in the morning. My theory as to why Italy played sinner in that doubles, even though they were already through, they'd already topped the group is that they're trying to figure out the best doubles team because boley is injured and normally he would partner fellini, but they can't use bile, so they need to find someone to partner fini. And I think they perhaps maybe thought that guy could be sinner and they obviously pushed cabal and Farah very, very close. So maybe they have hit upon a good team there, sort of by accident. But yeah, it was pretty pretty strange to see sinner plane like that. By the way, the only other time John Isner has lost the 6 love set. That sort of tour level for sure was the match after the 70 68 at Wimbledon when he was just, you know, a corpse on the court against Timo de baca. He lost the 6 level set that day. And then the next time Yannick sinner in the Davis Cup, that's not even Matt stat. I mean Matt should have saved that. Yeah. Yeah. That was newsletter worthy. You've blown it. Yeah. He's so full of stats, Katherine. He can get away with it. Yeah. So you did do the business David? Yours and Marin's hopes remain alive. The Croatia through, as I said, face Italy, and she ran on Monday, which means that the one quarter final I haven't mentioned is Germany who came through that group with Serbia in it. They topped that group in Innsbruck. They will take on Great Britain in Innsbruck,.

"You know, really means a lot of this competition. And they've done it again. You know all those, you know, all those bublik Medvedev matches that I've looked forward to this year and have been absolutely poo. Well, they've been made up for tonight folks. It's as if it's as if it's as if public knows that he's disappointed fans of agro with those match ups this year. And he has done it. He's done a great thing. Yes, he has a he beat vasek pospisil today. It's a book Kazakhstan's place in the quarterfinals. And along the way, of course, he threw in an underarm serve. Just as he does, great stuff. And the crowd that weren't the kazakhs in that stadium started booing it. And really started getting on public's back whistling throughout the whole thing, public loved it. Got to take a look at yourself if you're booing in underarms of totally. But public loved it. You know, he was at stage in the match where it was just starting to perhaps go pospisil's way a little bit, but doing that under I'm served just injected life into the set and sort of made sure it was played on his terms again. And he started putting his hand to his ear and baiting the crowd and they were booing him. It turned into pure pantomime. And public loved that role. He saved a set point in the tiebreak with the most wonderful drop shot, won the set and during his on court interview, which was drowned out by the booing and the whistling in the stadium. He said, as a legend once said, when you guys sleep tonight, know that I won because of you. Epic. Good man. I've been searching for two and a bit years now for a legitimate way that I can quote the legend of Daniel Medvedev. And I haven't been able to find one, but it's done it. Well done. So because it's done a through, they. I'd love to tell you who they're going to play. They will play either Russia or Serbia or Spain in Madrid on Wednesday. Spain's fate, at least, Spain Russia's at least largely rests in their own hands. Serbia. A sat sass at home in Innsbruck, they were in brick, weren't they? Yeah. With their fate very much out of their hands. They beat Austria did Serbia three and O in that tie as you would expect. But Djokovic's compatriots were unable to do the business against Germany. He beat strf but Germany won that tie two one and it's what we kind of depicted on in our preview podcast, wasn't it? If Djokovic sort of looking behind him going come on lads, be a little bit better. I watched that doubles as well. And he was involved in that and his partner was pretty good actually, but they were up against a really good top doubles team on the other side of the net, who you could just tell they're just they were in sync, they were used to it. And Djokovic kind of struggled, I thought he was individually brilliant as you would expect him to be. But and he had his moments, but he wasn't the best player on the court. And in the big tiebreak moment that decided the opening set, it was a clean winner return after full blooded Djokovic itself. And he couldn't believe his eyes. He actually tapped his racket. He nodded his thumbs up because it was an amazing return. And that decided the whole set. And, you know, here they are obviously, as we speak now, we don't know their fate, but such fine margins. I just I'll say it again. I just don't like this business of not being out of control your own fate on the court in the match you're in in terms of whether you go through or not. You should know, you should know when you've played your match, whether you're going to win or lose and what's going to happen. When the USA at the moment, John Isner, who's had a terrible time and lost 6 to 6 love in his first match. And then lost the first set of his second match. He wins a set. So he's finally doing something good and Matt tells me I'll fight through that that the USA are out because of some of the deflation when he got told that all the tennis that he'd become invested in was completely pointless. Imagine how they feel at the moment. They're still playing. They're playing the doubles right now. And they're out. Yeah. What is the problem? Well, we all got very invested, didn't we in tiafoe against Nicolas Maher? See, thumbs up Matt. If you breathe with that pronunciation, see? Yes. Francis Jeff against Nicholas may her merit of Colombia, TFO. Coming from too much points down to win in a deciding set tiebreak. This is in Turin. He was in a full crowd, but it was a great crowd of very invested crowd. And it was utterly brilliant. You know, it was all the things that you want Davis Cup to be the arta heartbreak of mejia, you know, knowing that he was one point away from a life affirming career making win potentially. And he didn't get over the line for himself or his country. And it turned turns out to have been irrelevant for everybody involved. So that's a shame. It was great though, wasn't it? It was proper. Buckling, Davis Cup tennis. Oh, some of the passing shots, mejia came up with. Left TFO, shaken his head and made me look up the guy's ranking, and he's 275 in the world, and he's playing these lunge back and stretched passing shots cross court that seemed implausible, frankly. And yet he got himself out of trouble so many times he got himself to match point. He didn't take it he loses. And then he just burst into tears. And sobs on the shoulder of his captain and Marty fish is there to give him a consoling pat on the back. You know, it was all lovely. You're quite right. It's just that it can't end halfway through the next match on maths. It just can't. They've got a Scottish contrasting scenes at the end with mecha and floods of tears and TFO in the crowd. He was so pleased in his high fiving everyone he possibly could. I hadn't realized it was his first Davis Cup win. You know it never won in this competition before. So even though it ended up meaning nothing for the USA, I think, I think it meant a lot to him personally. He lost a very, very heartbreaking match to born a church in this competition a few years ago. And he was on the receiving end of those contrasting scenes then, I think, but I was a bit surprised that he didn't play the opening match for the USA. You know, when they played against Italy, they put a pelco and Isner in. I then listened to TFO's press conference after his win today and found out why he didn't play. And that's because he was a late call up for the U.S. just last week he was on holiday and in his words drinking mimosas getting ready for my Thanksgiving feast and lying on the beach. And then suddenly he was called up to have to come and play Davis Cup. So really, it's a pretty big effort to make it all the way over and to end up winning his first match. You don't need Francis, but it was all for nothing. Meanwhile, for 40 year old Feliciano Lopez is just crashed a winner pastor Andre Rublev on serve to break for 5 four. He's just the most ridiculously acrobatic celebration to commemorate breaking serve,.

"While folks, it is 9 47 p.m. in London I'm Solihull and ten 47 p.m. in Madrid, which is obviously where matters and where a lot of the tennis community is right now a lot in Innsbruck and in Turin as well, of course. And just moments ago we watched 40 year old Feliciano Lopez walk out onto court in Madrid to play a decisive doubles rubber for his country, a rubber that is decisive, precisely because he couple of hours earlier when he was also 40 years old, beat 24 year old Andrei Rublev to keep Spain's hopes alive of qualifying for the quarterfinals. He is alongside muscle granose. They're taking along they're taking on the Russian team of Aslan karatsev and Andrei Rublev. The scenario here is very simple for Spain. If they win their through to the quarters, if they lose their out, the scenario is rather more complicated for Russia and various other teams that will be affected by this result. I really wish for your sake in mind that I could tell you very simply right now who through to the quarterfinals and why but that is so far from being the case. Yes, how are we enjoying round Robin people? I'm hating it with.

'Green Fraud' Author Marc Morano Describes the Hypocrisy of These Climate Summits

"We have with us a returning to America first. The man who educated me on the climate hoax. He is the founder of the climate depot, the author of the politically incorrect guy to climate change and more recently, the green fraud, why the Green New Deal? I prefer green new steel is even worse than you think Mark morano. Welcome to one on one. Thank you so much. Happy to be here today. So where have you just got back from? Did you just get back from what is ObamaCare, Scotland, completely fallaciously, the emerald isle? Where have you been Mark? I have been in the emerald well actually, I think that's Ireland. I've been in Scotland and I did not get to go. I was there for all last week. I did not get to go in one of these private jets like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates or Al Gore, who were all at the conference as well. I had to fly commercial, but I was there all last week at this Glasgow summit and it was a doozy because I think even the longtime observers are saying, this is as Greta would say, a blah, blah, blah, summit. Not much has happened here except a lot of virtue signaling. So what is this? They're using this acronym cop. I didn't realize it's now running for multiple weeks. Well, what is this? What is this virtue signaling stand for and who, who is their Mark? Well, this is the United Nations climate summit. Cop stands for conference of parties. Bureaucratic language that they have every year. So next year's cup 27. This year's cop 25. And this whole process started in 1992 with the Rio earth summit that then Republican president George H. W. Bush signed and got us beholden to this big monster mess and then of course the first climate agreement they came up with was the Kyoto protocol when Clinton was president. And it's been going strong since then, annual basis. And they always pick exotic location. Scotland's probably the least exotic location that they've had it. I've been the Bali South America cancun all over the world. Next year is going to be in Egypt. They like to fly all over and have giant

Phil Kerpen, President of American Commitment, on the Statistical Issue With COVID "Cases"

"We are back with the president of American commitment fellow cup in. Phil, it's not just the statistics that are problematic and that have been played with have been exploited undermined there's also the semantics. There's a definition, the rubber rising. The playing with the definitions. One of the ones that first struck me was the way case was used. The word case. If you talk to medical professionals, if somebody catches a virus and doesn't even know it, but test positive, they don't call that a case. A case, historically in terms of praxis of the word, was an individual who got sick and had serious consequences either in hospital or out of hospital. I did a bit of research myself. I've looked at medical publications for decades. That's what cases meant. Under COVID, cases become anybody who tested positive. Isn't this another statistical problem? I think it's a huge problem. And frankly, the World Health Organization, of which I'm not a fan, but at least on this, they have it, I think, right, although no country to my knowledge actually follows them on it. Their case definition includes pneumonia on a chest x-ray. Wow. Their case definition includes a positive test and a confirmatory chest x-ray. I don't think any country actually follows the requirement. That's the case definition from the World Health Organization. Yeah. And the interesting thing to me about that is when you look at the death data in particular, only about half of the death certificates for COVID have pneumonia listed. That's fascinating. So, you know, is it that some of the people filling them out? Don't bother to write it because they think it's entailed and saying COVID maybe. But there's also a steep age gradient. The youngest deaths are the least likely to include pneumonia, so that the pediatric deaths only about a quarter of the death certificates have pneumonia

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. As you know, I spend a lot of time on social media, probably spend too much time on it, not just for work, but for pleasure. And it's always amazed me as to how people get excited about things. And I sometimes wonder if it's real or if it's for an effect. You would think right now, people would be talking about the elections that happened in New Jersey and Virginia and the new mayor in Boston and New York. Sure, people in those areas are talking about it. But right now, all I ever see on my timelines and I mean my timelines, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, are the fact that the new Starbucks holiday cups are finally out. Now I understand people getting excited about a specific drink coming back at Starbucks. It's almost like the pumpkin spice latte people getting excited when that comes back around each year. I don't see anybody talking about the Starbucks drinks that are coming back. They're talking about the four new cups, wrapping paper ribbons, holiday lights, candy cane, like it matters. It's a paper cup or a cardboard cup or whatever they make them out of. It's just a cup. What's in the cup that matters, doesn't it? I know I'm missing something here, but the way my timelines have been blowing up, you think it was something big.

Children Have a 1 in 10,000 Chance of Dying from COVID-19

"Work in you work in your work to prepare for a show on the evening before the night before and then comes along a new a brand new story that makes you stop and reshuffle. Your story order. That came in the washington post this morning which finally gave me a number. The number of american children who have died from covert every one of which terrible heartbreaking tragedy. I know people have lost children it. It's a terrible burden the terrible tragedy. It's the worst thing in the world. Five hundred forty children have been lost a had since the beginning of the pandemic according to the washington post this morning that's out of a total of five point seven million children. George W. Bush Compares Domestic Violent Extremists to 9/11 Terrorists in Appalling Speech

"This is the man who i don't know he he he he's meant to be a conservative He was a republican president. He went to shanksville pennsylvania to the field where flight ninety three crashed off to those brave brave men took it back from the territory. Terrorists to save lives in dc and this is what he said on the twentieth anniversary of nine eleven. This is the man who was president. When nine eleven happened cut to play cup little cultural overlap between violent extremists abroad and violent extremists at home. But then there's disdainful pluralism in their disregard for human life in their determination to defile national symbols. They are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them. "Prior to that it was a good time. Like okay Basically starting is going to say that the indoor has like an east coast midwest feel to it like whenever you something being in the stadium gonna play like you just feel like it belongs in in like we plan you know. There's a team in up up north internally. There was a team in ontario. Close closer to me here And it was a team. Down in san diego Unlike you playing those games in like it. Kinda i dunno. It just doesn't happen. You go play like the in the city like Saint louis that you just like it just fuels like or belongs there so i can imagine that. It was the beer in southern california. I mean just. There's no reason to be indoors. Beach soccer makes a lot more sense of anything else. Does over your neck of the woods especially Go back to beat soccer. Twenty twenty one world cup coming up this month Just in when people this a few days from now so let's start with. Qualifying wasn't a breeze. How'd that go now. Agrees qualify always attesting that. I i feel like qualifying is almost meaning. Obviously you're bringing in big teams for the world cup. Qualifying is difficult in the sense. That like every every team wants to be in that world cup. So there's like because once you make it to workup it. It's not like you made it but you did accomplish you like you made it there. So he's kind kinda cool but to not make it is like feels tear. It urge you really like so For qualifying that everyone's like going crazy going hard trying to win and we have some good teams in cock calf and El salvador who actually ended up We ended up playing the final. Who who won the game. They're always they've always been like for as long as i've been on the team. They've always like a competitor for us and the nexico obviously is always a big clash And this year we were able to knock him out. In the semis. Which was like an amazing yeah. It was off year for mexico all around. She felt good to get that win. is history with mexico. And kinda missing out on on a world cup and stuff like that so Yeah i mean it was. It's it's a tough this this qualifier. We have some newer faces. Some guys are making debuts stuff so it was it was cool it was like a little bit of a challenge getting making sure that we kinda like it will come together and everyone was like You know doing their thing But in the end. I think that's like what we have. Is that like we. We come together reunited in kind of play hard for each other. And then we have like a a roster of like some veteran guys in a lot of skilled guys. So yeah i mean there's some there's some some games that aren't as demanding. I would say as as you get later in the in the into the termine but yeah the last. You know panama's a team that we have troubling before the tournament so we beat them was good game for us. And then you don't mexico's one in mexico is the big one right. That was the one athlete is gonna go. What are you guys going home right right. Rosa a that was like you and you qualify so so that yeah that was huge and and if you have that that one play them. I mean last the previous world cup qualifying. It was like the reverse where we played el salvador in the summer is and we beat them in in. Pk's in at mexico in the final So this time was like pretty funny. I kinda swamped it. it But the result was similar in that we were able to qualify so really stoked on that pompton excited tournament in so it gets started. What are the dates. Does it start the august night. Eighteenth ninety it's nineteenth to the twenty nine. Yes that's exactly so. August nineteenth twenty nine. You guys are in not you guys us. We america we are in group a with. It looks like they're calling them. Or if you so i guess that's carry over from the drug scandal so the russian mesh federal indubitable union or some shit like that rather than is russia so as russia. Us paraguay japan as you said. At the beginning. I know japan is a series team. Russia is one of the better like they've actually won some of the world cup's imperishable. I i think is pretty good. Right there no pushover. Paraguay said until the last world cup. I didn't know much about paraguay in terms of be chartered but Yeah they They hosted the last cup right. They did they hosted the last one so we went there and we actually had the group and it was the last game of our group We were kind of you know bit a bit beaten down by the results of the other games They came on. They played well man. They were fit and they escort some goals. In so i just. I realized that you can't really take anyone and you shouldn't ever whenever you're playing a sport in general but Especially with beach manage so many so many things you can account for in terms like the bounce of the ball and that sort of thing referees make calls there's always some weight drama or something You just got really take every team as seriously as as as the other team And really treat it like it's a big match because especially in the i mean you have three games. He had three games to to make it onto the next round. And the all as says the next one's not so. I mean i assume you're an athlete. So you're going into your competitive so you go into the second like we wanna win right. We wanna win the world cup. But what would you consider to be like a failure. If you've made it out of the group would you then be like well. At least this has been a success based on two thirteen to two thousand nineteen or is there something more you want more than that. I mean for sure. I think it's one of those things. Where like you mean we want. I mean there's no point in competing if you don't want to if you don't wanna take it all like why why are you doing it Obviously the are.

"And i want you to come in house like okay. Yeah so yeah. So that happened. I went to el salvador. we did like I didn't know at the time but it was like it was like a some sparring games basically with el salvador to get right or the world cup so We went there. Played a few games and then at the end of that trip. You kind of had the same conversation he was like. We're going to woke up. I want you to come and so yeah go somewhere around like a month later. I was on the plane with the team. Had into the hiti for be charles woke up first official like official official tournaments It was pretty crazy like hat. Images happened so quickly that it was like kind of a surreal. Surreal thing in the admits. It's wild out. I think about it because feels like a lifetime ago but at the same time it also feels like it was yesterday so with the how the how the two thousand thirteen beach world world cuppa go. Free guess It's it was. It was a tough one. We we have drew a pretty a pretty tough group. So we had spain tahiti who was hosting and then Uae and prior to that world cup to he had been training pretty regarding for it amount of months leading into it because they were hosting. They wanted to you know. Have a good showing and then. Spain has always been a strong team in beach so that first game against spain we ended up losing five four. I think like at the at the end of last minute of the game. Something like towards the end. It was a close game. That than the tahiti game we actually went into overtime and ended up losing in overtime Which was kind of a heartbreaker and then The uae game. We won in that game. I played the most in. And i ended up scoring my first my first and second goal in that game and in system game so it was like a pretty cool pretty special game for me. Even though considered we didn't move on past the group stage was it was pretty special to be able to get a goal in that tournament Nba involved in it to that extent. So so yeah we. Unfortunately the last two times we've gone we haven't gotten out of the group setting because i mean man is the world cups like not no joke. You got a lot of good teams in there that their training and playing lot. You're out so it's tough to compete with some of those is But i think this year you know this next month this month becoming. I think i would give feeling we. We've got a good team guys from the that i go around still in the mix and then we have some senior guys. Nick mixed. it'll be a. It'll be cool. Cool thing to see like how we're able to to perform come together and put online nice to support your point. I know that in two thousand thirteen. I think tahiti and spain were both in the semifinals of that world cup. Yeah they weren't. They weren't pretty deep. I think ethics. I think he might have gone to the final or now around. Spain did. Spain lost russia in the final. I did research here legit people. I'm shocked. I know shocking. People by the i know little over here. Tahiti tahiti lost brazil in the semi in the goal. What third place game Out an and spain lost to russian final so listen those were the two teams you had croup stuff and there's a lot of and like it's only getting the team's only getting stronger like as time goes on so Actually this this world are we drew a the host russia and then we have Japan in paraguay and those are those are two significant teams as well. So i mean it's not going to be an easy in easy but I do think that we have a good shot at at it nice. I got more questions for you on the twenty twenty one world cup which is coming up people. Listen to this. It's just going to be a few days in advance. And that's part of the reason. I wanted people to get a sense of the most interesting man in the soccer world number one but also wanted people to know the world cup the beach world cup coming up in people's would pay attention because the us us in it in. It should be a lot of fun. And i've watched on tv and it's first of all it's a different game. They didn't the normal soccer. But it's a lot of fun to watch on. tv. It's really sort of tv friendly. But let's talk about soccer real quick. So i've played soccer one time in my entire life. You're probably surprised by this but there's actually a pretty nice beach here in chicago lake as opposed to ocean so different but there's actually a very nice beachfront in there is a beach leagues. That play down there. I played one time And my experience involved. The keeper on our team getting his Not as femur but whatever the shinbone. His bone snapped in half. I assume moves a just a free play That he had went in on a on a sort of a challenge with guy in his shinbone snapped. And it made a sound that i will never forget. It was so loud. And i don't think that like scared me away from beach soccer at all because like. I think that things can happen anywhere if you're playing sports and especially soccer. But it was the greatest. It wasn't a grace off by two things. Were this guy's shinbone snapping and making a sound that was just still chills. My my blood number two holy shit. That was hard insane and all heads the house. I okay yeah. You know what i'm going back to the grass. I'm getting back his regular soccer for somebody who's played a lot of heat soccer and knows the game inside out what are sort of the big differences between b. soccer and normally soccer. Yeah I mean it like you said it's it's almost different like completely different sport in a way at the same time. There are a lot of similarities to soccer in the sense of You're playing with soccer ball the way you're the way you're moving you're connecting passes but at the same time the way you're connecting passes is different because instead of keeping.

"Recovery process. The only thing you wanna do when you get back is play and just and just feel it again. You know feel feel the energy and feel the excitement and feel that the desire and the dedication sacrifice to win And obviously when when i ended up playing in the last game of the season You know even before. I played them the game. I knew i wanted to go somewhere I think i think there was this big question internally amongst league you know win. The season was actually going to start again in twenty twenty one Trying to figure out obviously the the pandemic and and how the season would work in you know it. Was everything going to get better. So the big question. Was you know if if the season didn't start and i was and i stayed in mls And i didn't go anywhere i would. I would potentially be off november december january february. I mean we're going into maybe five six months of not playing after. I just came back from a nine month. Rehab of e surgery so for me you know that that essentially would push me back an extra five six months of getting into finding the best form That that i was at which is kind of the science behind it I think they said it takes about sixteen months From from your surgery To kind of could kind of find form. And i see i could be missing a little bit there but something that you could be to some extent. That's right so yeah. I think ultimately might decision was i wanted to go somewhere and then it was just it was just about working with the league Sorry working with my team. These united To try and figure out. Okay where can i go. Where is it you know. Where can where i potentially still be protected. Where could the team potentially look out for me because you don. I'm still a mexican citizen so for me to play in mexico. I don't count as a foreigner You know which is a huge benefit for for some of the mexican clubs so Could i go down there. But then the question became you know what if what if i was overused You know what if i was heard. What if something happened And obviously still technically trying to maintain my knee and still go through this recovery process so there was a lot of different things that went into went into it and to me end up me ended up being swazi The dc united owner. Jason levian is also part owner of swansea And i think for me when he when he kind of presented that opportunity to me talked about. If i was interested in going. I said absolutely i would love to go You know there wasn't ever a doubt in my mind thinking. Okay you know i. I don't think there's any player that that comes back from an acl injury and you know his fourth game back. He is in the is against manchester city. United mean Ahead of me. I'll just ask you. I mean it's it's tough man. It's tough so obviously i was extremely. I was extremely excited to to go over there and it was just. It was a tough transition To be honest with you You know. I definitely can say you know wi with a lot of confidence that i kind of went over there as a Reinforcement of positions. Which kind of made it tough for me because again. I'm coming back from acl injury. And all i wanna do is play. I want to be in a position where i can constantly get games where i can find good form where i can continue to show myself in gain the confidence back And unfortunately i just didn't really get the chance to do that. And and you know never really found myself On the field. And when i did it was it was in. You know tough tough situations And yeah that's you know that's kind of how how it went. And obviously i ended up getting injured. a couple times over there Which kind of. Just push back my my. You know my rehab and and my recovery time at at the end of the at the end of the day that it makes sense for me to continue to stay over there until the end of the season You know when when i was probably going to be out for you know an extra month and a half or so so that was kind of bad decision to come back early to at the c. To to get guys who have worked with me before who know my body You know to kind of help me recover and obviously they did and and you know my quads been fine sense but Yeah it was definitely. It was definitely an experience. I'll tell you that It was it was it was something different And you know. Obviously i'm extremely eager to prove myself and you know there's another opportunity to go to go abroad and and you know it's a play in europe. I i definitely will take it but obviously has to be. The right situation has to be the right environment for me You know because at the end of the day you know. I want to succeed. I want to be successful And sometimes you can help yourself by You know knowing where the right spot is and and you know it might be a little more difficult so so. You're a as you said you didn't quite get as much you weren't over there as long as you would've liked asli given the injuries but your debut was against manchester city in the fifth round of the fa cup. I mean what was that like.

"Doing and specifically how your your hamstring doing. yeah physically. Obviously it was tough You know to have to go out of the first game With a hamstring injury. I think you know looking back on and what kind of everyone's told me. It was a very smart decision to kind of go myself out. I kind of felt it start to a little bit. Tighter and tighter Just in the beginning of the game To to the point where. I thought you know if i really keep going. I think you know i really hurt myself And luckily with with my experience and and you know. I think being a part of the gold cup and just kind of Kind of kind of feeling like veteran in kind of understanding the situation. I i kind of made the choice. Hey i think now is the right time before you know. I push myself to so the time the you know. There's no turning back so luckily You know it's nothing too serious. Obviously you know something that that. I've continuously worked on You know for little over a week now and you know every day making progress so The hopes is obviously to be on the field as soon as possible And you know whether that comes in. The quarterfinals are not You know to be to be determined but You know feeling good at the moment. Feeling making a lot of progress like i said And really just excited to contribute. Okay do you think you think if this was your first rodeo. You've been around a little bit at this point. You've been around the us men's national team. He played overseas. You've actually don't allow mls If this was like your first game on the us men's national team in your life felt that twins do you think you would have played through it and the apps yourself up. I think so. I think for sure That's kind of like you know what what i was hinting at. When i when i said like i had the understanding that. Hey it's a long. It's a long tournament. Why why risk your your body and especially me obviously coming back from an acl injury you know what people sometimes don't understand is that your body is completely different. You know when when you have to go and you have to put you have to make a a graph out of you know a different ligament attendant or whatever it is and re put it somewhere else like you're teaching your body you know it's just never your body's never the same after surgery In you know. That's something that i all by also had to learn. It's a difficult thing. And that's why there's a lot of ups and downs post post the acl knee surgeries. Is that your body's continually trying to to adapt and learn that you know it is the way it is now and you know you're going to have to figure out the best way to to stay healthy so obviously this is kind of another obviously a small obstacle but You know have my acl. I went through a couple of quad quad quad injuries. I've dealt with a little bit of tendonitis in my left hamstring. Over the past. Couple of months. So it's just kind of adaptation trying to trying to get better Which can be obviously super frustrating as a player Especially when you know. I i feel like a explosive type player where i rely a lot of my energy. A lot of running and getting in behind and distance covered different. Things like that And so sometimes when when you know your body lets you down You know it's extremely frustrating. But at the same time my body. I gave me a sign a warning sign to let me know. Hey you know you might need a. You might relax a little for now so You know that's kind of those kind of the way i took it but Like i said. I'm definitely i'm definitely grateful to to not have a habit significant injury in you know. Be ready to contribute. As soon as i cam. Hopefully you'll be back in there soon. If not the quarter-finals the semi or the final movie. max Okay perfect now. Before we get to d c united and Questions on your adventure in wales Let's let's stick with the national team for a little bit so you just beat canada one zero. I should say we can't because the united states. I've even be canada one zero and one the group so You know three wins out of three. What was the mood. Like in the locker room after the game against canada was it more. Was it excitement where people guys happy to run the group and looking forward to the knockouts or was there. You know some frustration that perhaps the performance and especially maybe. The scoreline wasn't as impressive as perhaps people were expecting coming in. Yeah i'll tell you one hundred percent The attitude was was excitement. knowing that we didn't play necessarily the way that we wanted to play. And maybe not not the way the fans want you to play But i'll tell you. What i you know i i think we all understand it here and even the younger guys at this is their first. This is their first time at the international level is the first time at a at an international tournament. You'll take you'll take the winds as they come in. Our first objective was to win the group that was number one when we when we came in and we sat down and we talked about okay. What's important for for this team to be successful. Number one thing was when the group And the bottom line is it doesn't matter how you do it. It's that you do you know so. Yeah i think could we have made it a little bit easier You know winning the group if we would've had an extra goal against Martinique or maybe not concede a penalty absolutely But those are kind of things that we grow as a group you know. I think a lot of us understand is very young group It's a group with not too much experience. I think it's pretty well-balanced group And yet i think we all know we didn't play you know how we wanted to But at the end of the day it's against a team that that is you know rising up and and you know. Obviously canada thinks that they are Similar to us. There's this growing rivalry that we've that that we've built over over the past couple of years so for us at the end of the day. It's it's one of your rivals. It was a huge game is a real test for us And also like i said when the group three different formations. Three different games It two shutout shouts and you know given up. One penalty kicks so You know the goal is obviously continue to get stronger and and work towards work towards the finals. Which is now. This is the fun part of of the tournament. It's the knockout stage where you know every single every single play matters. And that's where you wanna be if you're if you're a professional athlete would berhalter His post-game speech What did he say he said. Obviously you know number one is that you know we had to win the group Into when you talk about being Relentless that's one of our. That's one of our big word words that we use to describe ourselves and and when we think about how can team be successful. One of the one of the main words is being relentless and being relentless for us i thought. That's that's what we did You know when our back is up against the wall when you're protecting the lead You know when you're defending with everything in the and in canada throwing everything forward You gotta be relentless. You've got to be well. You've got to be willing to do anything it takes to to keep the clean sheet and win the game And so you know he was. He was happy with that. We're we're super super excited about that and obviously Like i said again you know our main our first objective which was winning the group was was done and now we can move forward We have a week week to kind of prepare for for whoever's are So at training or not necessarily just at training but at training and in the games I've been there for both Unlike a lot of people like me keyboard warriors who just gets the you know the game kiva. Listen i'm the as a big old keyboard. Warriors there is out there Big big twitter muscles over here. "Him invitation in the midst of what he's doing But i didn't like that. I didn't think broader had a great game. Who shall we say. Let's go from you know over the three games. So far who has pro whose stock has risen in your mind who's stock has has perhaps Fallen james sands for sure. I think that's so paulviollis of the same thing. Apparently is nicknames. Jimbo which i like. Bob that i love the name. Nickname first hands So jimbo sans has. I think he's probably the stand out of the tournament so far for the us Other guys that have impressed me sammy. Vines is played well and robinson. So i didn't think robinson had a great first game but he really looked good in canada him zimmerman. We'll talk about zimmerman him in a minute. Because i have questioned on the penalty which you guys think but he him in zimmerman. I think would would get good combination against them. Losing zimmerman hurt a lot. Mine aside i'll throw might out there so you know decay killed martinique. It didn't play that well against candida Wasn't that impressed. I don't think like his stock is fallen per se. But like i would like to see him be a little more influential against candida boozy. Oh hasn't had a great tournament. I think that like he's probably amuse in the midst of like signing deals with venetia. Probably not as mind a little bit. He's playing at home is first Team in kansas city has got to be able to pressure In he might have been played out a little bit. I think Berhalter was maybe put him a little bit. Further upfield in any normally is playing. So there's reasons that i'll give a break. I just didn't think he'd play that. Great zaragoza's is artists I guess at this point Pines came in and really looked looked. Shaky against candidate wasn't probably expecting to to play in the For berhalter just the way he sort of. I didn't like him against canada. What about you guys any today. Am i wrong any those or you have any sort of supplements a now. Lost says the word i get a beginner. Mccotter doesn't give at criticizing your contemporaries and everything. So i get you gotta be careful there. Shut the hell up for this. Bill was put you on the spot. Almost let me let me be the bad guy. i'll be But yeah so. We'll see you know we got. We got Jamaica or costa rica. Coming up this weekend I think that I think to rica would be an easier matchup for us. We'll see how it goes But let's talk about the rest of the gold cup you know. There's a lot of other teams playing other games going on and Not a lot of games going on outside Really not a lot happening at the soccer world. But just in the sports world these days So what has stood out to you guys from the the rest of the gold cup. So far i am genuinely scared. That qatar is going to come in and roll. Every i don't think that would be good for the image of the gold cup. Yeah that's why. I brought this our guest all the power qatar. If they can do it that'd be on real that would be a story book ending To their first gold cup. But i don't think it overall it would be a good look for for us. But they played well. They played with energy. They played with purpose and they look like they want to go out there and score seven goals every single game which i love. That's gold cup. Soccer that's conquer catholic nutshell. They're fit right and really i do like it. I do like it. And i do think that they this is why brought that question of last dog. I was like listen. I not convinced that Qatar doesn't have at least a shot of you know doing something in this tournament. And if they do that would be a yeah. I think it'd be shot at hockey and specifically it would be a bad news for mexico in the us at least in the eyes of the world at a very minimum. So we'll see how they do. I have been rooting for them. To be honest. I kind of like watching them play the they go out there as you said they wanna score a goal so they're fun to watch But if they won that would be. That'd be no no The other teams or games against teams that have stood out to me number one. Mexico have not look good They lost who was it that got his face broken now. Little chunky shuki. That was that was ugly Hopefully he'll be back relatively soon but he's definitely not going to iraq for the gold cup and they just have not looked good at all. They they came. What was it. A zero zero. Draw with trinidad and tobago out of the gate than last night. It played el salvador. Salvador was all over them for most in that game especially the second half. El salvador is probably the better team for more that game than mexico is the better team. And then they got their last game of. That was less games. Do they play in the middle guatemala. they'd be guatemala. Three zero guatemala's ever get So number one mexico. Not looking that great. I mean obviously they can pick it up. They have a very strong team so if they get it together. Obviously they're going to be a problem. Food is more a good. I am scared that guy and they got ellen. Pluto is unlike a backup. They've they've got goals in that team. That's going to be a problem. But they just have not been playing that while on the other hand last night watching mexico playhouse salvador. El salvador was very impressive. Mean they for thirty yeah they they really probably did so mexico. One one zero was on a deflected. Goal is very ugly. That game could have been like three three three to allow a different way than it did but el salvador was very breast last night..

"To add on the topic right although then It's terrible terrible. Just everything about it is terrible. There's no good silver linings from this type of thing. The twitter twitter people are going absolutely wild with this like his name. Guilty is being used in the flexed in in various ways and means that there are so many jokes out there that if it turns out to be not true of course it's easy to just delete a tweet but imagine what that would do does rep. So i really don't have anything else to add. Just a just a wild wild updates for whatever. It's nothing that through for move onto some actual stuff so us men's national team big week relatively speaking anyway. We had two games since last night and is have chatted we had martinique who we be pants off of sixty one and then we played canada. Be canada one zero. Not much to say about the martinique game. I mean like darrell decay. Just absolutely manam little boys they in that game anything else. Stand out from that. Game quickly. shouldn't concede the goal to martinique. But that that's a good point. Kellen emmy first of all that. That penalty was so weak. But at the same time kellyn kosta has to be smarter became. Put your hands anywhere near a guy in the box like that and he just absolutely fell over else but mean as somebody who had The over three and a half in. Us to i think two and a half I was a little nervous when he gave away the penalty. But no problem seven five one at that point right was it. I think yeah owed support with a three one two if to whatever my mask bills are not talk goal. The second one was that the one that bounced around the box. Dj sorta headed towards the goal. And the guy like basically put it in the net himself. That was very where it was. It was decays gold. And they said no goal or own-goal. They awarded it to decay. Because they were like you know what we might as well give it to. I mean basically grabbed the ball. Put it that he had to be over to the decay that was questionable at best but good for him But let's move on to canada. Where the the decay love. May it may take it a little bit. The decay hype train gotten Off the tracks just a little bit so we only beat canada. One zero performance itself was was not great the first twenty to twenty five minutes Especially i twenty seconds. I should say were a very good sir. Shack moore scored. I think twenty seconds in the game which is just like earliest goal. we probably haven't scored but from there I guess you could say the first twenty to twenty five minutes. Were pretty good from there. Things went downhill badly. Like connec sixty five minutes candidate is the better team on the field End you know we were just. We're being battered around by by canada. Which is not fence. The candidate but like we're better the canada even team. That's out there right now. we should. They don't have elephants davies. They don't have jonathan david like there's no reason that we should not be doing to them what they were doing us for last sixty five minutes. What what stood out to you guys about that game whether it be from the starting eleven Technical changes in the midst in the middle of the game or know anything what stands out disorganization. It didn't look like we. That early goal. I mean slater might might have been too early right. But i don't know it. It didn't look like our back. Line was all that organized and we had a ton of trouble actually getting it up through midfield and into into the attack third We just little mistakes here and there. I don't think it's anything to worry about. But i think we need to be better against canada. Gutter is canada's definitely better than the last two games. And i think this is the first real test for this grew at the gold cup and just like the first nations league. Everyone was kinda. I don't know. I don't know hesitant about the us player. I think you come out with one zero and you learn. I think a lot of these guys learned a lot about themselves as a group. And that's what you want. I mean you said it's not the result that matters. It's the friends we made along the way exactly. That was my gunner. Second-grade was the orange slices than made a couple of friends. But no i. I i think then being tested against a i mean. Even you're saying without those two guys. It's still a decent and narrow the very solid emily. You know team so. I still think the next opponent. They play that Madore i know. I think either. Costa rica jamaica. Loser of the game tomorrow between jamaican costa rica. I think that's we play the another test to so i'm excited for that one So i think you touched on it mitch but we are midfield was overrun like for. Basically the last hour of the game That sort of bleeds into my last point which is going to be. Whose stock has risen and fallen. Or you know who who's impressed. You not impressed you just quickly on that wild. Some of the midfielders clearly did not have great games bushido a being among At the top list. Although i think he's talented shit he's going to be very player. Didn't have a great game. You actually didn't have a great game gets more me either but What stood out to me was like that. Burkhalter didn't make any changes seventy five minutes into the game when we were getting absolutely murdered in midfield for at least fifty minutes there at least forty minutes ago And he didn't make in changes. The changing made i think was in sixty i. Change made was in like the sixty. And that was reggie cannon infra shack more in the back which i mean i guess sh maybe. She's mike got tired or something. I don't know but the fact they didn't bring in Williamson or even a matthew hoppy. Cristian roldan finally came on I'd say he helped a little bit in the midfield. But like i don't know the fact that berhalter stuck with that that formation in that light of as long as he did was not good was questionable decision. I didn't like this artist. Decay top to start. I don't know what you know. Listen he sees them in practice so maybe he saw something that he thought the together. They'd be a good combination. I i wouldn't. I wouldn't have said it Going in in coming out a month definitely. Let's a good experiment that we don't need to guess The the decay in hoppy up top against martinique. I think only worked because we were playing martinique. Didn't work because it was a good tactical change it. Only it just work because we're playing martinique and trying it against canada Seemed like ill-advised ill-advised okay. Good words Yeah you know. I listen i get it. He's baltar is trying new things he's tried. I think he's used different formations in all three of the game. So far He's obviously done a lot of substituting in rotating players get it. i think that's okay I like i put out a tweet or instagram. Something about basically saying what Questioning this question right there and somebody on on instagram. saying like i'm a huge berhalter. Hater caper. Hold it off and defending him like often when people are you know instinctively just hating him because he's now molest geyer instinctively hitting him because his brother was on the essentially hiring committee or whatever. I've definitive i still think he's i think he's worth. He's deserves the job in. We'll see how he does in too early to judge him at this point but i think you can make criticisms of him invitation in the midst of what he's doing But i didn't like that. I didn't think broader had a great game..

"Up to speed. Get our sea legs under us Listen mean international tournaments. You come in. You have a week to practice with these guys. You know that you don't see that often if ever and then all of a sudden you're thrown in there may that's tough goes for these teams. Were planning to so. It's everybody's playing with the same ball on the same field anything but i just. I'm i'm glad that we play canada last because as you said backs i think canada's a legitimate at this point you want to play last resort exactly Now quickly You max made this recommendation released through this thought out there about combining copa and the gold cup. Tell us a little bit about that. When you give us the pitch for that. And i know people always talk about it and And i'd say it never could happen because there's too much money that the comex for copenhagen is too much money for the go cup making it at the for the goal the goal cup for conquer calf so I wouldn't bring it up as much. But when i saw the euro's and i'm like man. This feels like a world cup. This is getting bigger and bigger. Have like ten or eleven teams. That are credible portugal. Germany didn't make forensic make the quarterfinals. And you still had a functioning tournament with everybody knew everybody so that the european growth is so massive than not to mention the last world cup. And i think non-european teams will do well and cutter but when it was in russia was like six of the four semifinalists from europe. So when i saw that and obviously he was building up. And then i see the the real tough situation in south america and they can't even hold a tournament. Komo vote is out of control. It's not going to just flick a switch. They kinda need infrastructure. They need money they need. They need help in a lot of ways. The gold cups going to be great but they need personalities they need teams more than ever as well if they want to keep up with the european. So i think it's never been a better time where they go look. We can actually do something great here. If we combine forces bite the bullet we come off possibly make more money on the other end and then the gold cup. Whatever you call it gets brazil argentina columbia which is the big ones then uruguay chile etc. And then the the south americans get the the us infrastructure they play it there where it's easily manageable and the stadiums and the money the tv money which also includes mexico. Which is the biggest dog in north american. The second biggest dog in the americans. I think it's brazil then mexico and in the rest fall in line. But it's if. I think they have to start to look at it because they're gonna lose a lot of ground now because he's euros are just going to get bigger and we're gonna kinda get the scraps from the rest. But if we came together as an america's do it would be it could compete it certainly could if it was and i think in hold these tournaments at the beginning in. Us mexico where he can really have a problem. Which i know the south. America's won't like they'll get paid for this they'll get paid for their participation. And i guess enclosing to argentine is a big time but when messy goes. I don't know if they're going to be as marketable. And maybe they get a new messy but they're not going to be as marketable that's why brazil mexico and the us it. I think are the big three interesting that you gotta call the super copa americas like geico com or. I said tournament tournament of the americas. Which anna now but something like that was going off the super cub's everybody shed on in england. Where in europe with the bringing together the different leagues is chateau word. I don't know that is edging. I think i think gary lineker shed on the field years ago. If i'm not mistaken guy gary Show if you guys are boys now love anybody who can roll with the punches when you make fun of him for taking shit on the field. I love that guy. Anything else mitch. Tommy you got any Skep- what he thinks on board with that idea. Wanna show to the meetings. We're going to run it. we're gonna do it. I think there's a finite amount of time when messy will be marketable in the united states. And i think it's stupid not to take advantage of that if you can sell a tournament in which like you said the big four are competing and you know is at the height of his game. Name is at the height of his game. Who'll six of his game Those are such big markets that it's hard to ignore. And i think that's such a such a dramatic change that is needed like you said they need infrastructure accountable and we need more casual fans and what's better to get casual fans in the best player in the world. So i'm on board on your on the board. I'm on board for this too. I think i've been to a couple of games where it's like. Us mexico or us argentina's a fan in giants stadium. And you just see the the crowd that those teams can pull and most of its four in argentina or or messy and for me. It's it's a no brainer to to try to do that in. Try to have it in the us or us slash mexico. I think this country specifically but the whole region would benefit a lot from that. I think we should buy it on that. In a millisecond playing devil's advocate. I think the biggest sticking points are going to be you know the powers that be vulnerable and kaka calf right because they because are making money already say he can make more money right by if you can convince them. The i bet they do. I mean i really i. i don't know fearful we should say we had. We had the scenario copa america in two thousand sixteen. Which was basically this. And you wanna mir that and I i was the most that was really exciting yet. All these parties. And but you never had a chance to grow from that. So and does it though for the martinique's of the world because they wouldn't be able to probably even qualify. Maybe you have a little qualifier. You call that the gold cup and then you have a couple of minutes. I think he'd probably take all ten south america teams but maybe the last four have to qualify something. But this is what the euro's deal with you know once in a while team. Slips in the faroe islands lichtenstein. I don't wanna hurt. they don't make it one. eighty okay. The northern maybe find a way where you get you get the minnow bracket and one of them slips in. I shouldn't throw another narrow ireland in san marino in the faroe islands. Like they're not play. Yeah no they're legit team. Okay i like it. I think we're all sold it. We just gotta get the the fat cats at caffeine coma ball on on board while dan. Max i like that idea. Resenting she's going to come in with the giant pizza box of money and build. This is what you get that overtime money mitch. If that bag for overtime we can make this happen. Overtime will be one of the founding sponsors. I like this move. We're moving in the right direction here. Okay let's row. Let's round this out with the best bets in goeas everybody's favorite a segment. We'll get to that in a minute. Let's go best bets. I i'll go first England italy under. I think it's going to be a terrible terrible Ugly i'm gonna say this from neutrals perspective a terrible ugly affair. it's gonna be taxable. it's gonna be you know. It's going to be slightly kaka cathy. I think italy has like just a little bit of calf in them when they want to. And i think it's going to be one zero england in the end. I'm going to go under. i think that's It's a lack and also saying that. Three two three two barber. Let's do this. But no i do think as we wanted to england So many go under in that game. Anybody else i got one emmy martinez with five plus saves nice. I'll hogan hollywood coming out for that to coming out of left field. He i think. I got this in the last episode where you texted me right before. We were going denmark to score in twenty minutes in the first one. Twenty minutes against england. Which i mean. That's a dark horse. Bet right there. Because england hadn't given up a single goal They took twenty nine minutes. So if you had said thirty minutes. I'm gonna be honest with you because it's on record I was gonna put thirty but it didn't feel like two out there too risky enough. Sounds like you know what screw i was. Actually thinking thirty two balls got a little too big just a little too. Big little bit is still good. That though still good bet max metro you has got one i against the us. Haiti like an alternate line of the us minus two and a half. My last. my last week's best bet did not go over well. I said argentina cover. They did not. But i like..

"Scared he goes. I'm gonna eat you alive. Which is a direct translation to spanish. And send you the second to another guy goes. Yeah get rid of that. Ball was a little bit flat like he was just riding full-time but then he said it till the very last second and made the say it was. It was pretty amazing where the spanish spanish challenge people like us. There's a translation video ankle subtitles. Now i think i did see. That's pretty cool. I'll have to look into this nice And then there was also the are all the argentina guys including messi who were basically Were they clowning. Year amina right on his dancing of why were they. What was so bad about as they hit. Why is that such a big thing they were they were really going in on him. They were but i think it was like the only thing that that was the one thing that you could point to so they might as well you know. What else are you gonna mock kind of thing but yes the videos. Apopka gomez in the room. I mean that's just three at its finest. They clearly was was a call. They took a tableau that when it happened when he hit a penalty. And we're gonna throw it back in his face and boy. Did they ever ways the entire team did including messy it was. I don't know what messy talked. Shit it just catches my eye because you know he's normally dislike you know buttoned up Just murder you on. The soccer fields hepatitis anyway. Oh quickly predictions. Anybody think argentina can do this tommy okay. I can go with the dream. Final to dream outcome. I would love nothing more than to see messy when I think his night ends in tears. Either way I hope they're happy tears and you think anything they can do. I do think that i'm team messy do too but i think and i think it's more like max do with martinez than messy i. Would i would add tommy if they're to do it and to make sure they do it. Mris ghana i mean because a lot of the big games. He's had he's done well and they always go. He couldn't finish here. I'm taking this renault doesn't work that way. I know they'll more pants. Don't play asset. He out good. Just keep it. Seize the moment if you get one. I know that we've talked a lot about brazil. Hoping does but i don't think he does. Your numbers okay. Well i think. I think he has a shot but i think brazil may just a little too much. They do have a ton of talent. But i was looking at. You know. i've been watching the last couple of games. Got a lot of talented. Like argentina has a lot of talent. I think i think i thought what did i say. It was. laois said he's he thought. Argentina or messy had more talent around him now than like he's iran before. I'm not sure i would disagree with. I mean they have a lot of talent there right now and they also have a team that's really built around him. These guys worked for him and was a great foiling. He makes any other guy upfront. Look good so. I think there's a there's something to be said about that so last thing i'll say on this game as scared as i am. Italy in england sucking. I think this is going to be awesome. I think these teams are gonna come out. There's not going to be fans in the stands. I don't think they're going to feel that pressure quite as much. I think they're gonna come out. I think it's going to be an awesome game to watch what he's doing. Mitch i i think this is going to be a far more fun game. So the casual fan because it's going to be more chances pagan it's gonna be a little more of an open game to go talk about like the talent around messy right now. I disagree with what alexis said. Because i don't i don't think he has a tremendous amount of talent around him and the way they've been playing him. Recently they have been dropping really deep and getting on the ball or real real early. I think for injured actually do anything in this final. He needs to come up with something special. not that that's rambled possibility. And it's irresponsible bet against messy I don't think he doesn't i. I like what tommy said about. Did you write that beforehand. That is night ends in two one way or another like tom. Rinaldi over there w normally manifested out of their. Tell me oldham okay. So we get to brazil's think max and mitchell both brazil tommy in the romantics bro. Federated tina i think he's going to be an awesome games. This is copa. America final on saturday and then we get the the euro finals on sunday. And that so that's on the afternoon and then sunday night now we'll talk about the third segment here. Us men's national team would get the gold cup up and running Look i i gotta say. I'm looking forward to the tournament. A few like a lot of people probably gonna like shit on that because aw it's all. Mls we're not gonna see police it when agassi mechanic and all that. Yeah i get it but these are the guys that are going to fill out the roster right. I mean we know the the best probably ten twelve guys a pretty sure. We know them. But you need to see this sort of second. layer That i'm excited to see who really steps up in this tournament because we got you know there's holes in the roster spots to be one Anybody anybody coming into the school cut. Matt's what's your sort of. What are you looking at. What are you looking. For a fair assessment to and maybe the united states gets a Plenty of pine site for doing this for the other countries are sending their big stars and not looking for that next group of guys that could help them made. Maybe that's the difference between the united states. Not only making a world cup and making a deep run when they get there. I'm on board with world. cup priorities. World cup qualifying olympics gold cup. Take a back seat. Although i think they'll do well here. It's built nicely for them. I i like how the tournaments drawn up. Usa has all their games in. Kansas city's so they can really ramp up Homefield advantage to there is The venues i'm gonna try and get out there for that final august i in vegas and Obviously some of the big stadiums like Jerry's world and all that involved and they're gonna be big mexico crowd so it's going to be a compelling tournament and i think the us is gonna do well with this group it's not. It's functional enough the big questions. They beat canada in the groups which is much improved beginning a lot of games. It's going to be tricky. But i think they should if they don't win it. I'm not going to sit here and scream at the heavens. I get it as you said samad said about getting to that Getting ready for september qualifiers and finding those guys that will play a significant role so just so people know. The games are sunday against haiti Than a few games or few days break till thursday we play martinique a small island somewhere in the in the ocean out there. I haven't even know where mar martinique sounds like a place. I really wanna go visit. It is a french. It's it's an extension of the french and the caribbean very small. So it's not even fee for recognized so they can't qualify for the world cup so this is as good as it gets for martinique. Oh boy well good for them for me. They got some. They got some vollers as some guys are probably could would've wanted to play for france that kind of slipped down there. Yeah okay. that's smart smart smart to grab them and then finally as you said canada. That's the big test in our group. We play canada on the following sunday. So june july eighteenth. And i'm glad we played candida in that third game. I'm glad that we can sort of get a few. You know practice in practice games but that was mean sorry eighty martinique..

"And so that's what that was going around and it seemed like nervous. Reputable sources re tweeting that saying. Yeah he's going around asking wants to take pennells. God that's crazy that is yours that works and you're an idiot if it doesn't because you're genius by trust in your team menudo you look. You look like you've had that all planned out. But i'm not like you said hindsight's twenty twenty done that's the best strategy if you lose you more. And they lost so connect the dots on that one Yeah too bad for spain I agree with what tom said. It's just a hate it. When games like that come down to penalties just felt like wrong way to to finish it but at the same time. It didn't look like anybody who's gonna score to us. I guess being had a few chances in extra time but italy was just bunkering. Whatever congrats deadly they. They moved on. Let's go to the other. Semi-final england denmark. Denmark scored the first goal. That england has conceded in the entire tournament so sort of the small win. A bigger win for denmark is they won our hearts Unfortunately they lost the game though What what are your thoughts. anybody Sort of coming out of this game. What I guess the penalty the penalty talk. The penalty. shouts is at release sort of the biggest talking. Point out of this in scott That's not say no at all. So here's what my thought on it. I agree probably not a penalty. But if i thought the cane when king got tripped in the box i thought that wasn't penalty and it seemed like dr in solitary. Yeah they. I thought that was a foul outside. The box didn't review. They reviewed the penalty. But i thought english free-kick outside. I fought the danish was christian kind of gun in their first but very close bang. Bang crazy. I guess look at it and i would say the other one wasn't a penalty i i would say. The want isn't penalty but it is a a wonderful job of raheem sterling using simulation to win a penalty. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. No people scream to the heavens about cheating. This is a semi final. You do what it takes. And he was so good at it. That had people second guessing. We're getting these replays with legs crossing like fine by me. But on the flip side sometimes. The english fans very hypocritical when they see italy. Do that but no more heavy. Let's not gonna fly anymore in sterling has a lot of practice so if anybody could pull that offsets he's good at it of it for sure Look at look at it at a different way. If england had lost this game say they did not get the penalty when kane. I thought cain was tripped in the box. Say they don't get it. When sterling tripton well allegedly tripped in the box or via our overturned that and then denmark goes on to win this insane penalties. I mean that would've felt. Even i don't know of wrongdoer is a word. I don't think it is use it right here. That would have felt wrongdoer than the way that england won this game. Because listen i mean. England was the better team in this game. They had like far more opportunities. They had You know whatever they just had obviously possession while boba but they're were the better team and if they had gone and not gotten those. Two penalty shouts either one of them and then lost penalties. I mean that that would have felt more wrong than at any issue with that outcome for me. England was not as aggressive as they could've. And i think should've been. They were a little too complacent when they had the ball. They kind of went into this game even even when they were tied one one. They kind of carried the ball and carry themselves as like. We are the better team. So we're going to win this game. Not we are the better team. So let's go win this game. If that makes any sense you know what i mean. We definitely see that before. Denmark scored 'cause they basic right didn't do anything until denmark's gordon. They're all of a sudden they're like. Okay let's go do this. And they look good into the lakers on right if you can respond within ten minutes of denmark scoring what's stopping you from going you know attacking again. There were very few players that i felt actually took on. Defenders took chances took shots like hurricane. Should've had another four or five shots that you just pull the trigger on if Is midfield mode. You can tell right. They think like you said england was the better team. The outcome is correct. But i feel like they could have done a whole lot more with that game have to. I have to agree with that. I thought Like denmark was braver team and england's playing at home with the quality. England has a feel like they should be taken more chances in in every single game. You play. i think six out of seven at home Yeah just think they're almost set up like a team in who wins a tournament just by being a little more passive And just really hard to beat instead of a team with all this attacking talent that will just carry it. Kinda reminds me of a france. When they won the world cup with the conglomerate of attack they have of their and they still setback. Include a little more defensive..

Mccabe is back after a one episode. Absence and Tommy the people are dying to know what the current status of orange county's playoff hunt is at the moment trending upwards again trending upwards again. I forgot to say one word this time so i got three this time up for last week. You're looking up at your. So you're in the second place in the western conference. Pacific you guys are looking up at phoenix rising Have you had any any chatter about you. Guys may be getting into the one dollar beer a night game like feel like that's really what sets phoenix apart from the rest of probably the country. We have we do have a dollar beer night but are you saying we're playing them in a dollar beer game or do we have our own dollar bear game. You can make it up as you go. I was thinking about for the fans. But i can see where we come from with the players here. Maybe that that really say apart yet. That could we had one mid week. I want to say three or four weeks ago. And i've never seen a rowdier mid week. Crowd definitely worked. I don't know how everyone did it. Work the next day but they enjoyed that night for sure. Great i'm sure but yes this perfect. Bring that back. I gotta get to one of those one of those games. I've been hearing about it from for phoenix for a long time. So now iowa you guys orange county is gonna get in this game. I gotta i gotta get out there In addition to tommy we got the other. Tweedle mitchell goulet overtime mitch. Enjoying his last few weeks in paradise before moving back east to the concrete jungle so Mitch on your in your twitter. Twitter twitter tinder in your tinder game. Are you using this to your event like all baby. I only got like two weeks left in like you know getting the no strings attached dates. Or how you have to. You have to leverage that. And that's just kind of you know one one one one of the good parts too is that you get the girl that are like all manila for the weak link which we do. And i'm like oh i don't know i don't know the place all that. Well i'm leaving in a little bit too now. It's just not checkers out here. I promise so. Does that end up with you in her. Like looking at the stars in holding hands all night like you told us before. I i don't kiss intel because that's impolite but you know maybe okay and the last definitely not least. We got the g the og soccer. Oh gee max brito says you guys remember him. Well he's gracing us with his presence and his gravity gravitas up gravitas gravitas. Reseda max. Great to have you back how you doing do great. And i just want to re emphasize why the g i got married in two thousand nine and i never got to set up a tinder account so i have no idea what it's all about but basically everything i'm hearing suggests that i'm missing out in a big way. I'm sure i am. I'm sure i am. But hey at something. I'll have to take to my grave. So best of luck on your movement and best of luck on the playoffs tommy. Thank you i love it. I love it. Yeah this is how. I learn. Sort of get. What tenders all about is for mitch and mikey. When he's on and not not so much family at the moment sounds like he's i have winston and give a hard sell though. I've one of you match that. How long have you lived in. La for maybe two questions. Now how long and you still use the out. I'm not from here not area. Yeah i can pull as like a year and a half of it has been during this whole pandemic so yeah see i have. I have all my boxes checked. And i do have my favorite spots to go to but it's easier to play them smart. That is smart low if the bar is low expectations. It's hard to disappoint people sort of one of my mottos for life. So i like where you're going with that let's go on to To some soccer talk here so euros we are almost done. That's the that's sort of the the bad news because this tournament has been amazing of sort of spoken. It's praises for for weeks now. But we are done. With the semis. Were down to the final two teams the best two teams. Some might say some might say. That's not accurate But england and italy have survived. The soccer may be coming home. Or maybe to rome home or rome where it's going but Yeah let's start with italy. Spain so italy one one after extra-time in italy won on penalties. Let's start with. Max we'll be bringing you back here. What are what are your thoughts on this game. What stands out for for you from this final From the semi-final. From spain italy game it was a i thought the spanish had this game in for the first time you saw the italians really uncomfortable in a lot of ways and i think that's a testament to a spanish. We didn't really expect much from so that was a that was a pleasant surprise for me. I always argue with folks and be an older guy myself. It's a young man's game. You get the kids in there earlier and it pays off nine out of ten times not all the time but in the spanish situation it did with you. Guys i almo. They took a bit of a risk on and he was great. I mean he was running rampant in that game and then obviously Pay the roy. Saw some stat completed all hundred percent of his passes and he passes up the lot. It was very cool to see. Just the the striker situation in italy plays it right. Italy's played everything right in this tournament. It's it's pretty remarkable. How good they are. And i've gotten this one. Someone passes me on this twitter. Follow that the guy is an expert in penalty shootouts. His number one criteria if the team was in a shootout right before the numbers sixty five percent. They're gonna lose. So i kind of tweeted the same thing. And i've nailed it twice because the swiss lost an spain lost so i i give credit to italy forgetting to penalties and winning it and then play that game with Kill leany which was there is no. There is no pleasantries in that. That was all stage to help win the penalty out to be all nice to kill them with kindness. And then wack killing me in the house going to say if there was one i was. I i had money on. Spain's was completely unbiased in this situation. One your money. I felt that was one of those games where i felt like it hurts the most because spain or the underdog coming in. I thought they were. They were the better team coming in. They look like the better team out there. I thought they had the better chances..

"On today's show season three episode for the Endless Cup I'm going to be reading from chapter four of the Dow Dejduang and then commenting on it after that we will have a short break and afterwards I will talk personally about some of my life experiences coming up on your favorite podcast show cup of Dow starting right now. You're listening to a COUPLA. Dow with your host Chris. L. Mcleish Chris's a man with many roles many juries in one spirit hello. How are you today. Eh I am well like you caught up in sometimes the day to day stuff that I guess we all lose track because the important thing sometimes in life because we get caught up in things but anyway let's dive into today's topic about the Endless Cup this time I will be doing reading from Chapter Four. I'm going to be using the Derek Lin. Nineteen Ninety four translation of the dowd aging chapter four the Dow is empty utilize. It does not filled up so deep. It seems to be the source of all things it blunts. The sharpness unravels the nights dims. The glare mixes the dust so indistinct it seems to exist. I do not know whose offspring it is. It's image is the predecessor of God so so in this chapter. We learned that the Dow is an endless cup a source of all things. This is the theme that will be repeated over the next few chapters. The Dow is not just the source it has active influencing things intervenes and regulates. Where did it come from. We don't know who made the Dow or why it exist is older than any source or I cause that we can can imagine way before humans way before Earth. It's ancient we and everything that we have done will someday someday be dust. The Dow will always be as it is the endless source of all that there is. It's truly that bottomless a cup of soup. We can only scratch the surface chains of interconnections things like mice helium networks physical laws and all our theories only scratched the surface of an incomprehensible force that we are all part of those who are nihilist would say it's offer nothing that our lives are meaningless but do we know that for sure. Could it be that we're part of something larger than ourselves. Everything's connected. Live your life like it really matters because it just may I'm going to take a short break. "Impressed. Well, put all that work and do it. Anyway, we're showing off a little bit. And so yeah. So I was I was doing a lot of tension, and she gone and that trip to Hong Kong that that really that was the mind exploded, I mean on a lot of different levels, and I'll share a couple of experiences with you. But so anyway, we when we got the Hong Kong, I. Started as a several things happen that kind of set everything up one thing that happened was I had never traveled internationally before. And I didn't understand what jetlag was and it hit me like wedge him. And when we got the Hong Kong their sleep slept for about thirty hours. I swept through this Bank with my mother-in-law made with Prabang monster everything they couldn't wake me up. And when I did wake up being what then what happened was I I would wake up at three o'clock in the morning every every night and the first one I just tossed from night within the next night. I thought you know, I might as well, my my inlaws had a really they they weren't wealthy people. There were, you know, working class people, but they were fortunate enough to have gotten a blown up on the hills. Overlooking Hong Kong, and so Angie's mom, actually had a garden of her house. And so I started going in and it was overlooking all skyscrapers and stuff. But it's, but it seemed like you were in nature. When you were in your garden. And so I just went out then, and I just I just you know, two three. Three and a half hours you doing doing sitting cheek on they gone meditation energy, meditation and also a moving cheek on and Taichi. And so I had never I had never been that committee. You know, just in, you know, you know, three three or more hours every day every morning doing this. And then to be honest with you, I've never been dedicated since. But but for oh, I think it went on for like a couple of weeks before I started to adjust. And so I had been doing a lot of medicating. And and then my brother-in-law Sammy he he was he had a car. And so he was driving around who's kind of like our tour guide in a way. And he asked us he said he said, there's a there's a Dallas temple where people go get their fortunes told they do the the each ING, and and so he said, do you wanna do it? I said, you know, I didn't know what it was. It's time. You know? I was just barely beginning to convert in Dallas and stuff. And I said sure, you know, sounds like sounds interesting. Sounds fun. And so we went to this temple, and it was really famous temple. I can't remember the name of it. But anyway, we got there, and it was all open air, and there were like kids playing around outside, and then you'd walk inside and everybody people sitting there, you know. Doing different rituals and stuff. And so anyway, my wife explained to me how you do it. What you did was you? You got down on your knees with this Cup kinda like kinda like pick up sticks. And it had a bunch of fixing it, and you would you would bring what you wanted to know about. And then you would shake that Yaro stick Cup until three yardsticks fell out. And then if you're a sticks fell out, then you took them to a monk who was outside the temple. And so anyway, he we sat down with him, and he looked at the aro sticks. And he had all kinds of books and stuff that he referred to. He he did my wife I and at some point she just started laughing. They're speaking Cantonese. I I do new Cantonese words, but you know, I didn't know what they're talking about. Right. And I said what did he say, you know, 'cause she was laughing? And she said he said, I'm pregnant. We both want. We both laughed because we knew that she was pregnant, you know, we we we didn't have any plans on that level. And at that point. And and anyway, a few days later we were walking we were in. I think it was off. It was it was it was in August, and it's really hot and humid sweltering oncoming. And so we were walking and she started getting really nauseous sick. And so we ended up going to one of the doctors will skyscrapers Hong Kong, and Dr takes blood test little bit later, she comes back in with her clipboard. She looks life. And she goes, you're pregnant no way that really blew my mind. And then I was telling that story just two months ago 'cause I had forgotten about what he said about me. And and I was telling that story to some some friends a few months ago and Angie said she said, yeah. And she goes, you know, telling them the story about the, you know, the Dallas fortune telling or the chain. And and as you said, yeah, she said, that's when he told you you were going to be a teacher. And I remember we laughed at that too. Because I didn't have a bachelor's degree. I had no plans to be teacher. I I never planned on teaching Taichi. And so that wasn't even in my mind. And so we had last when he. And Lohan Bill, you know, eventually, I became a teacher, and I've felt all world. That's amazing this that was a really wonderful experience to be in Hong Kong to be

"All right guys saves or episode forty two welcome back. It is it's one of those unorthodox weeks. I guess we'll call it. We don't really have any legit EP L games to talk about or preview, but we do have other ships. Get a Cup reviews. We got make believe Cup previews. We got some special segments here with source of mid week care midseason. Let's let's call him a wards. But before we get to all that number one. Mikey follower. How're you doing Mike? Welcome back. I'm doing very well excited. I did a lot of preference. I got my eleven I got my Ward's. I got my surprises ready. Boy were we actually did a little prepping. This is going to be a special. This is a fun one. I'm really excited for this. So like you said, we don't have EPL games just regular EPL gains. What we do have FA Cup. Let's let's start there. So this weekend. This is the first round of ethical games were all the teams are in there. There wasn't a you know, sort of huge upset it's not like, you know, Manchester United loss to Newport city. The worst upsets in fact, you called one of them Akron Accoring in Stanley, the Chad of English soccer will call them pull out the one zero win over Ipswich. There were some EPL clubs that went down. So Huddersfield full whom and Cardiff all lost interesting, which is very interesting because these are three relegation contenders. Not saying there's like a conspiracy, you know going on here. Just going to connect some dots. The game obviously long chef for these clubs to ever win. You know that Cup given the the the big the big boys that are there swinging their balls around in it's still so that saying they took dives to focus on the league. But I mean, three of them all lose on the first FA Cup. You know game. This just it smells like they took a dive, which honestly, I don't even blame them. I mean, I'd ING is way more important way. More important way, more important. Yeah, it's interesting that those three teams chose to go out, actually. Yeah. Very very interesting. You may use the right words that chose to go. Yep. There are some other EPL losses. So Lester lost you officially killed Lester, you breathe back into their low than than you absently killed them by getting on their band. Anybody can Venema me fifty dollars. And then tell me something that they want me to wish the opposite for it to happen. And it's a shoe. I'm gonna start a side business. I have actual superpowers that have just now becoming aware of if you want me to do anything feel like I should be putting this power to good. So let me wish something upon you in the opposite will happen just send me semi attacks. Tweet little side gig. You got you got Bruin there? I mean that was unbelievable. I just was giving out sniffers and I gave out Lester twenty five to one boom. Just like that lead to Newport county. Ex-? Unbelievable. Get your shit together. Fox's I carry losses for the club's borne Muth lost Brighton. So it's not a huge upset, but man cherries defense. You guys are just fucking clone show. But I will say they made some moves again the Klein in the transfer window on loan from Liverpool. I love that mov-. I've always been sort of fan of client. How didn't catch on more with Liverpool? I think it goes to show just how good guys like Trenton Alexander Arnold have really burst onto the scene and basically sidelined him. But I think that the client is a good player. So I think I think that's a good move for more. I'm upset he slipped through arsenal. I don't know why we didn't give a look we're not going to happy about that either. I mean, he flipped as one of my that was one of the highlights of my year so far Neil. We're not just going beserk going ape shit. Like he thought he was going to get like a booty call from Thana climb. And you know. You call somebody else. I mean client claims rate had a whole lot to do with the the twenty million paid for selling key. I mean, it was it was funny that you know, defense is just a total clown show, and they spent twenty million dollars on an exciting. But yet unproven strikers striker Timet born of what are you?.

Cup Lester EPL Mike Liverpool Trenton Alexander Arnold Newport city FA Newport county Cardiff Mikey Thana Timet Ward Klein Fox Muth Brighton twenty million dollars fifty dollars
