"This is the news in brief from the United Nations. The UN health agency issued an urgent appeal on Friday for access to second injured people caught up in the war in Ukraine. This includes hundreds of landmine victims, premature babies, pregnant women, and the elderly in eastern and southern oblasts, speaking from edessa and calling for humanitarian corridors to be established, here's doctor Dorit nitzan, Ukraine crisis incident manager for the World Health Organization WHO. I'm sure that once there will be corridors, we will be there. So the fact that there are no corridors sticks to itself surely all of us asking in different for police, let us in. The WHO official noted that others in need of help included those with chronic but preventable illnesses, those with heart disease cancer patients and diabetics, his condition has worsened because they have run out of medicine. Ahead of mass protests planned in Sri Lanka over the weekend, the UN human rights office OH CHR urged the authorities to show restraint and ensure every necessary effort to prevent violence, the appeal from the office of the high commissioner for human rights, follows increasing tensions linked to Sri Lanka's dire economic situation and the tremendous suffering that it has meant for ordinary citizens. There have already been reports of confrontations between individuals, police officers and the armed forces at fuel stations, where thousands of desperate members of the public have chewed for hours, and sometimes days said spokesperson, ravina shamdasani. The media has reported that 13 people have actually died while waiting in long queues for fuel. Now we haven't managed to verify these reports, but there are other debts that have also been reported of people who haven't made it to the hospital in time for illnesses that were very much treatable, but they died because of this lack of fuel, preventing them from accessing hospitals in time. Miss shamdasani explained that although protesters had pelted police with stones reportedly, these had been met with tear gas, water cannon, and on occasions like ammunition, under international law, gatherings should only be dispersed in exceptional cases with use of force a last resort where absolutely necessary and proportionate the OH CHR spokesperson said. At the Human Rights Council in Geneva, member states urged Afghanistan's de facto authorities to reverse them many restrictions they placed on girls and women in a resolution that was adopted without a vote on Friday, countries also expressed deep concern at the continued prevalence of violence and discrimination against women and girls in Afghanistan. Member states went on to reaffirm the equal right of every child to education in reference to the ban on girls attending secondary school in many parts of Afghanistan since the Taliban took power last August. The council also called for the reinstatement of the Afghanistan independent human rights commission before warning about shrinking space for civil society and journalists, Daniel Johnson, UN news.

"This is the news in brief from the United Nations, more than 5 million people have fled across Ukraine's borders since the Russian invasion just 7 weeks ago. The UN refugee agency, UNHCR said on Wednesday, latest data from the UNHCR Ukraine crisis portal indicates that 5 million 34,439 people have sought shelter in neighboring countries, Poland continues to host the highest number of refugees at more than 2.8 million, followed by Romania with 757,000 and Russia at nearly 550,000. Here's the UN refugee agencies. 5 million refugees have been forced to run for their lives, leaving their country, their homes and their belongings. And these numbers will continue to rise as hostilities intensify and as the war continues. People will continue to flee every day in the absence of peace. To date the UN human rights office OH CHR has verified nearly 4900 civilian casualties in the war 2072 killed and more than 2800 injured, most were victims of explosive weapons with a wide impact area are CHR said, adding that the true number is almost certainly much higher as many areas can not be accessed because of ongoing hostilities. The killing of at least 9 people in an attack on two schools in Kabul on Tuesday has been strongly condemned by the UN chief Antonio Guterres, targeting non combatants and civilian infrastructure is strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law, he tweeted his comments came after two explosions hit the two learning institutions in a largely hazara sheer minority neighborhood in Kabul, which has been targeted many times in the past. The UN special rapporteur on Afghanistan, Richard Bennett, added his voice to international outrage at the attacks and joined the UN rights office in calling for an investigation and accountability. Advice for HIV patients now from the UN health agency WHO, urging countries to adopt a new treatment for an associated secondary infection of cryptococcal disease which can be deadly unless correctly treated. Cryptococcus is a common fungus that lives in the soil and in bird droppings that can infect the lining of the brain and spinal cord, contributing to illness, disability, and mortality, particularly in sub Saharan Africa. WHO described it as one of the most important opportunistic infections among people living with advanced HIV, the new treatment involves giving a single high dose of the antifungal agent liposomal amphotericin B to people with HIV who have cryptococcal meningitis. "This is the news in brief from the United Nations. UN chief Antonio Guterres on Tuesday added his voice to growing international calls for a war crimes investigation into the killing of civilians in the Ukrainian town of butcher. The secretary general's comments came after shocking images from butcher on the outskirts of Kyiv, showed hundreds of dead people some with bullet wounds and their hands tied behind their backs, and others burned or in mass graves in areas previously under the control of Russian troops, mister Guterres had told the UN Security Council that an independent probe was needed to guarantee effective accountability in Geneva the UN rights office CHR explained that the episode marked a new low in the war with victims bodies desecrated in death. Our spokesperson Liz throssell said that all the signs were that the victims were directly targeted and killed. It's hard to see what was the military context of an individual lying in the street with a bullet to the head or having their bodies burned. To Sri Lanka where the UN rights office on Tuesday urged authorities to diffuse tensions peacefully after a state of emergency was declared in response to protests over the country's deep economic crisis in the capital Colombo and beyond people's concerns have been rising in recent months amid soaring costs for basic goods linked to a lack of foreign currency caused by COVID restrictions. The UN human rights office OH CHR said that the situation had worsened and that there have been shortages of food and fuel along with power cuts, prompting new protests by desperate Sri lankans, citing reports of excessive and unwarranted police violence against protesters, the UN rights office also said that social media networks had been shut down for 15 hours, and the use of emergency measures by the state must comply with international human rights law said its statement coming after UN rights chief Michelle Bachelet in February pointed to Sri Lanka's worrying drift towards militarization. Desperately needed food aid has reached Ethiopia's Tigray Region where hundreds of thousands of people are close to famine, UN humanitarians have confirmed the development comes after a ceasefire was agreed in late March between federal authorities in Addis Ababa and forces law to tigray and separatists. The truce which follows nearly 17 months of brutal conflict in north and Ethiopia mean that fuel tankers have been able to reach regional capital Michele, the World Food Program or WFP said, in a tweet at the weekend, WFP said that more than 47,000 liters of fuel were busy refueling aid vehicles so that relief can reach the most vulnerable communities. The UN agency noted, however, that 200,000 liters of fuel are needed every week to meet humanitarian needs in the region. Daniel Johnson, UN news..

"This is the news in brief from the United Nations. The UN and partners have launched a more than $5 billion funding appeal for Afghanistan to shore up collapsing basic services there, 22 million people need assistance inside the country and 5.7 million require help beyond its borders, according to humanitarians. In Geneva, UN emergency relief coordinator Martin Griffiths said that $4.4 billion was needed to pay health workers and others directly, not the de facto authorities. This is a stopgap, an absolutely essential stock gap measure that we are putting in front of the international community today. Without this being funded, there won't be a future. We need this to be done. Otherwise, there will be outflow. There will be suffering. Felipe Grande UN high commissioner for refugees also appealed for $623 million to support displaced people and host communities in 5 neighboring countries without sufficient action to help Afghanistan and its neighbors now, mister granny warned that next year, the amount needed could double to $10 billion. $20 billion weather and climate emergencies hit the United States last year and 2021 was the fourth warmest year in the U.S. on record. The UN world meteorological organization, WMO, said on Tuesday, the WMO is now busy crunching those findings from the U.S. national oceanic and atmospheric administration with data from 6 other leading international weather services around the world to determine just how warm 2021 was these include the European Union's Copernicus earth observation program, which is just announced that 2021 was the 5th warmest year on record, and that the past 7 years have been the 7 warmest on record. A week after the start of riots and Kazakhstan, the UN rights office OH CHR said on Tuesday that nearly 10,000 people remain in detention, according to the authorities, with calm returning to the country OH CHR spokesperson, Liz throssell, called for prompt and independent investigations into the unconfirmed deaths of 164 people in the protests, the majority in the main city of almaty and 17 or 18 law enforcement officers. All those arrested and detained solely for exercising these rights should be released immediately. Now, of course, we have seen the damage and destruction, for example, in almaty, we have seen the burnt out buildings. So clearly, among these, and we don't have a breakdown of who is in detention. It is a huge number, as I say. But clearly, there will be some people who have been arrested are likely to be charged. Miss throssell noted that armed individuals appear to be present during the demonstrations, which were sparked by now reversed energy price hikes. She also urged the Kazakh authorities to grant all detainees access to a lawyer and to allow national ombuds persons to visit places of detention to prevent any torture and ill treatment and to monitor the situation of detainees. "This is a news and brief from the United Nations, more than ten months since Myanmar's military seized power, the country's human rights situation is deepening on an unprecedented scale the UN rights office OH CHR has warned. In a strongly worded statement on Friday, the rights office said that it was appalled, but the alarming escalation of grave human rights abuses in the country. These include 11 people being killed and burned to death by security forces in the last week, and protesters being rammed by military vehicle while exercising their right to peaceful assembly. In addition, serious violations are reported daily of the rights to life, liberty and security of person, the prohibition against torture, the right to a fair trial and freedom of expression, said OH CHR spokesperson, Rupert colville, in a direct message to the people of Myanmar to mark human rights day on Friday 10th December, mister colville heralded their courage, resilience and ongoing opposition to the coup with the universal silent protest. Since the coup on 1st February, Myanmar state forces have repeatedly failed to respect their obligations to protect the country's people, according to urge CHR, which said that more than 1300 people have lost their lives and at least 10,600 more have been detained. A flare up in intercommunal fighting in northern Cameroon has forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes and brought a halt to aid operations there, the UN refugee agency, UNHCR, said on Friday. The development is just the latest episode in a difficult relationship between the region's herders, fishermen and farmers, who have seen the waters and tributaries of Lake Chad shrink dramatically because of climate change induced drought. In Geneva, UNHCR spokesperson Boris cheshirkov explained that clashes broke out in recent days in the village of lumsa, following a dispute over dwindling water resources. The violence then spread to neighboring villages, leaving ten villages burned to the ground. At least 22 people were killed and 30 others seriously injured during several days of fighting, which then erupted days later in the cameroonian city of gusari. What we see is intercommunal tension between the farmers and the fishermen from one side. These are Martha and Muslim fishermen and farmers and then the Arabs herders. And the main reason that this tension has been breaking out and getting worse is climate change because they depend on the waters of the logon river, which is one of the main tributaries of Lake Chad. Lake Chad has been shrinking over the course of 6 decades now. It has lost 95% of its surface water. In partnership with the authorities, mister cheshirkov said that UN agencies and partners were rushing to support the cameroonian refugees in the Chadian capital angina with emergency shelter and assistance. Staying with climate change, UNG Antonio Guterres has warned that environmental degradation is helping armed groups to extend their influence and manipulate resources. In remarks to the Security Council on Thursday, mister Guterres highlighted that conflict prevention initiatives need to factor in climate risks. In Iraq and Syria, terrorist group also known as isil has exploited water shortages and taken control of water infrastructure to impose its will on communities. The secretary general said, and in Somalia, charcoal production provides a source of income for Al shabaab, UN secretary general Antonio Guterres explained during a debate on security in the context of terrorism and climate change. Climate change is not the source of all ills, but it has a multiplier effect and is an aggravating factor for instability conflict and terrorism, he said, urging the 15 council members to address these challenges in an integrated manner to create a virtuous circle of peace resilience and sustainable development. Among his recommendations, the UN chief urged the Security Council to provide predictable funding to peace missions, particularly those in the Sahel region and Somalia as these often face funding uncertainties. A farmer deal that gives a lot more people a chance to get COVID-19 antivirals than ever before, and tough words for the tobacco industry from the World Health Organization. And in this week's interview with UN communications, chief Melissa Fleming, why it's crucially important that the organization should do more to listen to what young activists are saying for everyone's sake. Stay with us too for closing comments from the show's regular guest, so long as we take a Cortes. That's all coming up in this week's you can catch up dateline Geneva with me, Daniel Johnson. Thanks for listening. First, the news. This is a news and brief from the United Nations. Master rests linked to Ethiopia state of emergency have continued in recent days reportedly of people of degree in origin. UNH office, which CHR has said, at least 1000 individuals are believed to have been detained in the last 7 days under far reaching state of emergency powers linked to the yearlong conflict in northern Ethiopia, which CHR spokesperson list rossel said on Tuesday. They're worrying reports that many of those detained have not been informed of the reasons for their detention. Nor have they been brought before a court of law or other tribunal to review the reasons for their detention and have not been formally charged. In a related development, the secretary general has repeated his call for the immediate release of UN staff members attained in the country. Mister Guterres explained in a statement issued by his spokesperson on Wednesday that the organization's workers were being held without charge and no specific information has been provided regarding the reasons for their arrest. UN staff carry our critical and impartial work in Ethiopia, the UN chief insisted before warning that reported arbitrary arrests and attentions only serve to widen divisions and resentment between groups. All parties to the conflict should prioritize the welfare of civilians and put down their weapons now mister Guterres said. COVID-19 news now, and a massive boost for access to lifesaving coronavirus medicines for low and middle income countries. The welcome development comes after UN global health agency unit said on Tuesday that it had helped to reach a voluntary licensing agreement for a Pfizer antiviral treatment, meaning that the drug can now be produced genetically worldwide. "This is the news in brief, from the United Nations amid growing concerns over the plight of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers at the Poland Belarus border, UN agencies on Friday urged all parties to respect their human rights, and to refrain from their use for political gains. They have also been unconfirmed reports of soldiers staging mock executions of migrants. Earlier this week, news reports showed migrants located between Poland and Belarus, attempting to Dodge tear gas to make their way through barbed wire fences following weeks of rising tension. Liz throssell from the UN rights office OH CHR told journalists in Geneva that the human rights of migrants and refugees should be fully respected, regardless of their nationality, status or circumstance. It is a terrible situation. We are seeing people in terrible circumstances in the bitter cold, even reports that people have died. And that's why it is really so important. It's why the high commissioner has spoken out, I know other UN agencies have spoken out really clearly about this. The human rights of migrants and refugees have to come first. It is really important. They must be respected under international rights and refugee law. But as for the political dimension of this, I would leave that to others to address that. The UN health agency also issued a protection alert on Friday that 6 in ten migrants that it had spoken to on the Belarus Lithuania border needed medical attention. The UN refugee agency UNHCR has urged negotiators at the climate summit in Glasgow to include boulder action to help the world's most vulnerable people. The agency's special adviser on climate action Andrew Harper said that poorer nations were already in the grip of weather extremes with millions forced from their homes by weather related disasters already, and they were clamoring for assistance with adaptation measures, he said. A key stat that we have is that last year there was something like 30 million people were over 30 million people that were displaced by extreme weather events. And that is one person per second. If that is not a serious call to act, then what is? What does it take for the international community to say that there is not a zero sum game for continuing to pollute the world and destroy the environment? To the Democratic Republic of the Congo or DRC now where 27 million people require immediate humanitarian assistance, according to latest food insecurity data. This is the highest number in the world UN humanitarians set on Friday with 6 million just one step away from famine, although aid relief has increased to the country where insecurity and ongoing conflict in the east have caused mass displacement, the food and agricultural organization FAO said that development funding has not kept up from the World Food Program, WFP spokesperson Thompson fury said that the situation was getting worse even in places where food was normally available, like the capital Kinshasa. Here he is now talking about the situation in a cheery province. That was recently in jugu, which is one of the region that is mostly affected. It is completely off road. And starvation begins with the road ends. You can actually see people struggling. And armed groups control and patrol, most of these areas. According to WFP more than 850,000 people and 468,000 women are likely suffering from acute malnutrition. The agency plans to reach 8.7 million people this year, which is 2 million more than last year, despite the extremely tough operating environment. It needs $99 million to fund this work until April 2022. Daniel Johnson, UN news..

Modern games, much the best in that race. He wins, and this is where the batting public once again. Ends up taking it on the chin. Breeders cup sent out their statement last night. "Graphic novel's characters in july though sold out quickly so they created seven thousand more and of tease called bangers there that are avatars with unique traits and characteristics. That aren't in the novel but fit in its world now begins the big challenge of creating a roadmap for the people participating in the community alexander talks with engaging fans one on one in the space. Where do you think this could go on. I'm a big fan of people telling you you can't do something because you know like You can't do this. Tv show because black people don't see themselves in the future or you can't make money at a daily show about technology news A big fan of somebody saying you know what. Let me just go do this on my own. I love this story. I love that that alexander went and said. Hey there's a lot of technology out there we could just leapfrog in front of the old system and show them what we can do So i love that. They're trying this. I love that they. They not only made a graphic novel of their their premise. To show that there was an appetite for the story but then said let's do more than that. Let's give people a chance to participate in the sorry. I'm still waiting. I'm still curious how they're going to proceed from here right. We're still in the writers two steps. Which is we've created the characters and issued. Nf for those. We've created an expanded universe so to speak with these seven thousand bangers that people can get and now's like okay. Cool way to do with that. Is it a game is it. A social network is participatory story. There's all kinds of things they could do with it. I don't know where it's gonna go next. But i'm very curious to see if it goes somewhere like you said this may not be the thing the thing that works but there's so many different ways to approach using the non fungible token the thing that said we can verify something unique on the internet. We can verify a unique digital file. There's so many things you can do with. Yeah so for me. And i agree with you wholeheartedly. On i love the fact that Her and her team. There's just said you know what we're gonna do this ourselves Well what. I'm hoping actually happens. Is more people attempt to take down the gatekeepers because it's so important for not just You know Minorities in hollywood and and other of businesses. You've got to break these gatekeepers down so that you can continue to do your own thing you know. Unfortunately sometimes it goes left when you yell like a uber or something like that does take down the other taxi companies and monopolies. They have and then they start being you know about the greatest company to their people but i just like to see opportunities like this present itself and people take advantage of and kick the door down. That's why i don't like to dismiss the nf is just like ours. Pyramid scheme like it absolutely can be used as a pyramid scheme and people share. I'm not trying to deny that. But there's something there's something else that's useful for and somebody's gonna get on it. I'm not saying it's this. I'm not saying it's not this. Maybe it is sure why brian barrett has an article up called. I used facebook without the algorithm. And you can do. Very focused on france huggins testimony to the us congress where she said quote. I'm a strong proponent of chronological ranking ordering by time with a little bit of spammed emotion. We should have software that is human scaled where humans have conversations together. Not computers facilitating. We get to hear from now. Anyone can experience what that's like right now on your desktop click. Most recent in the left hand pane. Facebook mine was under a seymour arrow and on mobile. You have to tap the hamburger menu those three lines and then tap most recent and then you get chronological. Facebook doesn't let you make that the default you can bookmark facebook dot com slash question. Mark s k equals h. Underscore chr joe notes. That would let you go to the chronological view. Every time you click it but that doesn't help you use the app anyway. If you want to try it out you can and barrett did. He noticed that when viewed chronologically the newsfeed reflected the percentage of people he followed versus brands. He follows a lot more brands and in chronological order. He saw mostly brand post. Because that's who he follows. The algorithm filled his news feed with post from his friends so at balanced it more but even then he noticed that his actual friends did not seem to post much compared to the brands. He said at any given moment. The bulk of post appearing organically and my feed were from the same half dozen people. None of whom i'm especially close with. However in the algorithm feed he was seeing frenzy was interested in but sometimes the posts were four or five days old. Another thing he noticed was. How news differed in the chronological feed. The death of secretary colin powell was posted many times by multiple sources giving him a choice of which one to read whereas the algorithm version chose one to give him for him. Another thing about the chronological view was he didn't see sponsored or recommended posts artificially inserted and in the end. Here's here's what buried concluded. After his experiment the algorithm is there to show you who facebook thinks you are but also to hide what facebook knows. It is a little empty. Sad place were voices. Get the most attention. No matter what it is they have to say out. This is very interesting You know for folks that the problem is most people that we know in our lives. That should do something like this will never do anything like this because this already too complicated for them to make those glades. Right wasn't sticky there. You have to do that. bookmark thing. it's it's it's too complicated for most people yay so but you know. I don't use facebook enough for me personally. I have my post. That i like to put up in And unfortunately with all the bad stuff that goes around facebook. I tell the story all the time i was able to find my long. Lost niece widened seen twenty years because facebook. I got a message. Out of the blue is i. I think you're my uncle. And we just lost contact with her mother for years and so it kinda always has like a you know a little hitch to me but yeah i definitely recognize the issue and the echo chamber. That's created so being able to just recent post. Maybe would lessen the amount of foolishness that you see driving. So it's a divide between friends now. I want to say. I tried this today. I so rarely go into facebook. And when i do go into facebook i'll be honest. It's either the look at the page or the sms podcast page so the algorithm showed me three posts related to chris here about barbecue and tech and our podcast and then also gave me a post about pixel six twenty one. Our old Post from a friend whose whose father had passed away two day old cartoon from scott johnson. The chronological version was to cbs news articles and almost entirely posts from a group. I follow called numb. Taught that i'd forgotten even followed but apparently they just post a lot. So who's who says. Facebook doesn't put the important information a good half a dozen oppose before i got to allison's husband posting a birthday wish i was like oh look somebody i actually no. I made the switch just a second ago just kind of see and it was definitely a bunch of posts from france but i honestly i think i've trained myself to ignore stuff that comes ended. I just don't pay attention to so it it. I'd have to really pay attention to see if it makes that much of a difference from. Yeah personally it was to me that barrett noted that he didn't see a lot of post from his friends and i also noticed that to lack of friends. Yeah maybe it's both rents. That's perfectly reasonable. Explanation mcdonnell maybe facebook's a ghost town were brands are just talking to each other. I don't know alley funny and everybody's using it for marketplace birthday reminders. Stoic squirrel says he does so. You know i'm sorry. That was bioko so that but still anyway. Let's know if you try this experiment. What you find out feedback daily tech news. Show dot com. Those third parties usually would be add surfaces that can use that data to better target advertisements. Not only on ios but other platforms as well wall street journal has an overview of how apple's privacy policy on ad tracking is affecting businesses since it rolled out app analytics strecker flurry for instance estimates. Us users opt into tracking. Because you have to pick it gives you a pop up. Us users will say yeah. Go ahead and track me. Sixteen percent of the time when they encounter that prompt. You think that's higher low. I think that's probably spot on. I think i think. I think i would have guessed twenty. So it's not too far off. Yeah yeah one of the effects is that. Without the apple's user data there are fewer users that can be precisely targeted think about If apple users most of them are saying nope no track me anymore than when you wanna say. I want an advertisement targeted to People who game and like drafts. There's fewer of them in that data set now because a bunch of people opted out. That means the cost to deliver ads. Those remaining users goes up. That's just simple supply and demand a company get sticks which sells pregnancy and fertility test. Told the wall street journal their acquisition costs for advert for for users has tripled. They pay three times as much in advertising to get a new user as they used to so they reacted by shifting their ads off facebook and taking them to tick tock and email as well as trying to tweak their facebook ads to get a bigger boost from the algorithm. I think the secret is right. There you're gonna see a learning curve here and this is gonna start to fix itself a little bit now. Those are anecdotal examples But snapping said in its earnings report. Thursday that it made a billion dollars in revenue but that was three million shy of what it expected due in part to a fall in its advertising business and it attributed that to changes by apple it said it expects to have slower growth this next quarter because of those changes. Another effect of this is less accuracy in measuring and adds effectiveness since. You can't track an ample user that has said they don't want to be tracked when that apple user goes him by something on a website. There's no way to know if they saw your ad or not because you can't compare the pixels and go. Yeah that same person and finally another criticism being levied apple. Is that the change benefits. Apple's own ad business because apple sells ads in their app store. And they track you through but apple points out. They ask for your permission when you set up your phone. Maybe more likely to give it to apple. But it's also usually first party tracking not third party tracking when apple doesn't so this is super interesting for a couple of reasons. One i i. I definitely think that apple could stand to benefit if they make stuff harder but they should make things harder. And i think a lot of these companies got fat and a lot of these apps are created simply to gather data about people and is one of my pet peeves. I used to complain about all the time when people were just trash. Microsoft and google all the propsal. Everything is free and everything is one of those like. It's not free for no reason guys come on and So i like the fact that at least one platforms taking a making a move that requires these guys to put some thought in and actually ask permission before they start taking people's data and making tons and tons of money. I'm not getting a cut. It's one of the reasons. I refuse to do self-checkout as it until home depot or any of these other places pay me. I'm not doing it. So yeah so i'm not getting these. Add money and honestly. This is not shocking. Apple turned off a spigot of data and that spirit of data immediately had an impact on advertisers who were relying on it and advertising platforms. Who are relying on it. And it's a big spigot so it's going to have a big effect and it's gonna take a while for everybody to work out the implications of okay. How do i tweak my copy to get those people who are no longer tracked. How do i figure out how to tell. Even if i can't tell the individual like i used to be able to tell that. Hey i ran this ad. And i and i got an uptick over there There's there's there's a lot of work to be done to deal with this. It doesn't mean that apple is has irreparably harmed the advertising industry in fact it would be shocking if they had made this change in. You didn't see these kinds of effects and so the question is do. They have a reason for doing this. And the reason is that people should be in control of their data. And i don't care how how you want to argue that this is hurting your your business. As long as apple is asking every user including their own is it. Okay if we track you or not and you can say no. That's the right thing to do and it is the right thing to do. Ecosystem has to has to adapt to that. I imagined tim cook sitting in his office with a big button. And new. Cata countdown tire. And right i real quickly Coin desk noticed that coin star machines in walmart's coined desk dot com notice that coinstar machines and walmart's the ones that let you dump all your coins in and get cashback Well now let you buy bitcoin with paper money. So usually you can dump all your penny's in and it'll say hey. Do you want a gift card or do you want actual paper money. You can't get bitcoin with that. But you can go to the same machine put in some paper bills and get bitcoin. So it'd be like a two step process you pour in all your penny's get the paper money and then put the paper money and get bitcoin. i guess. of course you're gonna get a transaction fee on both those Your old pens cannot be turned into bitcoin directly. So it ain't free to do it but if this shows you it shows you that bitcoin in cryptocurrency is here to stay because literally walk up to a machine a walmart and get Bitcoin so this is going absolutely nowhere. The other thing the coin desk article pointed out is that you had that that fake story going around the the walmart was going to start accepting crypto currency recently. Apparently because of the fallout of that we're walmart was so upset about combating that story. They decided not to issue the press. Release about the real thing. You gotta break these gatekeepers down so that you can continue to do your own thing you know. Facebook mine was under a seymour. Ero and on mobile. You have to tap the hamburger menu those three lines and then tap most recent. And then you get chronological. He said at any given moment the bulk of post appearing organically in my feed. Were from the same half dozen people. I don't use facebook enough for me personally post that i like to put up in And unfortunately with all the bad stuff that goes around facebook. I tell the story all the time i was able to find my long. Lost niece widened seen twenty years because facebook. I got a message out of the blue. Say i think you're my uncle. And we just lost contact with her mother for years and so it kinda always has like a you know a little hitched but yeah i definitely recognize the issue and the echo chamber. I'd have to really pay attention to see if if it makes that much of a difference from yet personally. It was to me that barrett noted that he didn't see a lot of post from his friends and i also noticed that to lack of friends. Yeah maybe it's both rents. That's perfectly reasonable explanation. Mcdonnell maybe facebook's a ghost town were brands are just talking to each other. I don't know alley funny and everybody's using it for marketplace birthday reminders. Stoic squirrel says he does so. You know i'm sorry. That was bioko so that but still yeah anyway. Let's know if you try this experiment. What you find out feedback daily tech news. Show dot com. Now listen we know. You are listening to the ad. Free feed on patriotic. But not everybody is. So here's what we want you to remind the folks if you hear them listening to the public feed they can get a personal. Rss feed supported directly by them at daily tech news. Show dot com slash patriotic bag. April apple rolled out a change that requires apps to get user consent before sharing data about them with third parties. Those third parties usually would be add surfaces that can use that data to better target advertisements. Not only on iowa but other platforms as well wall street journal has an overview of how apple's privacy policy on ad tracking is affecting businesses since it rolled out app analytics strecker flurry for instance estimates. Us users opt into tracking. Because you have to pick it gives you a pop up. Us users will say yeah. Go ahead and track me. Sixteen percent of the time when they encounter that prompt. You think that's higher low. I think that's probably spot on. I think actually. I think i think i would have guessed twenty. So it's not too far off. Yeah yeah one of the effects is that. Without the apple's user data there are fewer users that can be precisely targeted think about if apple users. most of them are saying nope. No track me anymore than when you wanna say. "It okay to say. I was carrying the tray. A four peppermint mocha's but then i sort of stumbled and a little bit went out of each cop minus a slosh exact. Thank you get four permit. Slosh love the idea for sisters. Kill c. grammar thing makes me go That's interesting. I don't really care that it's him but okay like maybe so. I'm interested enough but the four sisters intrigue me that yeah. I mean i'll watch it. Is it a plus or minus the characters. Last names is christmas. Oh i didn't know that. Nine s for me. I figured i might be done to one and a half now. I'm it's giving me a plus i still. I know i am years into this game. I still love good. Christmas name like play. I'm sorry i need clarification though her lonzo did you see their last name. Is christmas so father christmas now. Okay i'm going to stand by it again. But i'm going to double dan say that in cute. I love it when on hallmark. When it's no well leery christmas eve. Holly it's cute. It's very clear nod. We all know it. I'm in for it. This is not a nod. This on the knows that i am. Yeah in the ribs. You all are scrooges. i love it. Okay here we go. I'm excited to see where jackson goes this. The princess switch three thursday november eighteenth. Vanessa hudgens times three when a A priceless relic is stolen. Similar last one. Chr queen margaret and princess. Stacey hudgens hutchinson enlist the help of margaret's audacious lookalike cousin fiona hudgens who teams with a dashing mysterious man from her pass to retrieve it rekindling the sparks of tantalizing christmas romance and resulting in a very unexpected switch is expected so audience promise to do it again. But we'd be alive time alonzo. Where are you at okay. I loved the first princess which i thought it was. I thought it was a real hoot and the second one strained a bit but was i was still on board for it. I maintained a a decent level of goodwill. And i kinda like the idea of a three quarter because that's that's usually either wear thing. Basically three goals over things go off the rails and it's either authors a good way or in the bad way i'm going to assume i'm gonna keep my fingers crossing to keep christmas. Hope alive that it's going to go off the rails in a good way. So i'm going to say four and cream why i like that a lot. Jax tom i know that it's probably silly to say this because i have watched the other two and i know that i have homework to do but i am going to get this five full. Your Awake Heart Is Calling You

"Are Reflection tonight is You're awake cart is calling you. That's the title. And I thought I'd start with A. Story that I was reminded of recently, it happened some years back at when I was teaching at CHR- Apollo a weekend on awakening loving presence and. One evening we were exploring getting into a real deplace of inner listening. And I had I arranged to have my husband. Jonathan play the flute. So we're going to get into a real quiet place and then listen to the flute music. So we did a meditation and the room became very very still and then all of a sudden a woman's cell phone went off as has happens and it was the yellow rose of Texas didn't don't don't. You know it and so often the songs blaring. She panicked says, she tries to grab her phone out of her bag but by mistake she hit the speaker phone. So you hear this voice going. She's grabbed trying to grab her mom is that you? So she's trying to get out of the room because she was up front and you hear this voice going mom speak to be mom are you OK? Mom. She was so embarrassed she left the room and what really struck me about it and when she came back. This is a person who is kind of new to the practice and so on and she told me what happened how many people came to our afterward who said That kind of thing that happens to me, it's terrible and kind of gave her a hug and. She got brought back into the community by people saying, Hey, I know what? It's lake you know. It's such deep conditioning to feel separate and that something's wrong with us to feel. Separate and then to forget how other people. Are Feeling when things go on for them, we have we kind of forget the subjective real -ness of people what they're experiencing and there's this. To me magical question which is. What's it like for you right now? You know what is life like for you? and. What is it like we have this capacity, these mirror neurons and a lot more in our brain to extend our perceptiveness and really feel with. And yet we? Depending on degree of stress. Forget that question. So we forget of somebody has a disability what is it like for you? Are Somebody's partner just after twenty years just suddenly said, Hey, this is over we're ending relationship. What's it like in those moments for that person? Are for the person right now and the beginning of two, thousand and seventeen, who's an immigrant. And is unsure of their status. The african-american applying for a job and this white dominant business. What's it like for you? What is this like for you? So we forget, and as I mentioned, we have this capacity for actually training and remembering more and more. To really sense subjective realness. So. There's a story that I heard a long long time ago that to me captures some with a Sikh master who gives his two most devoted disciples. Each. A chicken and may says, go where no one can see kill the chicken. So one goes behind a shed and picks up an axe and chops off the chickens hat. And the other wanders around for hours and it returns back with chicken alive. And the masters. So what happened and his response was I can't find a place to kill the chicken where no one can see me everywhere I go. The chicken sees. So for to that chicken was real. And Conscious and felt pain. And as we deepen our awareness of our own vulnerable being as we have that courage to contact the real. Vulnerability. What happens is more and more other humans become real. That is the process others care about their lives. They WANNA stay alive they want to be happy. So I've always been taken by the story and particularly I've taken by it right now when so many feel this dismay like the the message of the stories all life matters all life is precious and just. So in our atmosphere dismay that in a way society wise work regressing and that there's a sense that we're reverting more in the direct mentality are some are the real humans and matter, but others don't matter.

UN condemns deadly attacks on low-caste youths in Nepal

"The killing of five men in Nepal who had supported and Inter caste relationship has been condemned by the UN rights. Chief in a statement on Friday the High Commissioner for Human Rights. That'll help us in the process. So expect that available later on in the week all right for this talent Tuesday episode. I WanNa talk about human resources and human resource managers if you want more on. This topic listened episode 167 from November Twenty Fifth on how company Culture impacts the role of HR leaders last week. I spent about forty five minutes video conferencing with a law hopkins for our guest interview segment. It's fantastic interviewing and it'll publish a few weeks. During part of our conversation he spoke about how we're living out the legacy of the industrial age and how the first leaders of people outside the military were engineers and factories. This means a lot of the terminology we use today can tie back to that time. An example he gave was the term human resources and how it makes awesome. Like a bunch of spare parts or consumable items and for many decades it still kinda worked given the scope of the average human resource employee from nineteen twenty all the way up to about two thousand but as we know our language shifts over time in order to better reflect reality. The top human resource employee on virtually all org charts up until recently was simply the chief human resource officer or CHR. Oh but that title has been all but replaced in less than a decade by various names like chief people officer head of people and culture and a few others. The trend started as a way to attract younger talent. By implying that the employee experience was high on the priority list essentially replacing the mechanistic language of the past with more humanistic language of the future and at some companies actually happened. There was a concerted effort to improve upon the employee experience. But that wasn't the case at every organization. Today the language has been hijacked by virtually everyone and this means companies do more than just us cool titles for their executives in order to attract talent. The role of the human resource leader has evolved substantially in the twenty five years. I've been working as business. Needs Objectives. The rules that support those needs much change along with them but the really great successful human resource leaders. I've known over the years all have two things in common one. They don't wait for the business needs to change so they can react an attempt to add value in a different way instead they embed themselves in the daily business objectives of every one of their close co workers and it becomes strategic business partners to those co workers so that they get to be involved in the conversations that happen when business needs and objectives must change. They get to help. Orchestrate whatever changes happen and this means that never have to risk being perceived as reactionary and two they never let the job description assigned to them dictate who they can reach out to who they can form relationships with or who they can support with the tools and specialized skills they have. Let's explore those for a minute. I said that becomes strategic business partners to their coworkers. That phrase has been used to describe great human resource leaders so often in the last decade. It's almost cliche. Everyone can say it less people can define it and even less still can execute it. What does it mean to be a strategic business partner? Immed- you dive in and learn everything you can about another person's role what parts are easy. What parts are difficult for everyone while especially difficult for them? You then help them solve one of their problems or pain points by bringing a new perspective to the table. One that considers the employee experience without sacrificing anything that might be a business objective to that person. This is how the relationship starts by understanding that your objectives as human resource leader are not on some hierarchical list that also has their business objectives rather you and they have the same business objectives and you just happen to have unique skills in perspective when it comes to accomplishing them and when I say they don't allow their official job description to dictate who they get to have a relationship with what means that. There's no way anyone can get an accurate feel for company. Culture employee engagement or overall health of the people business and let's have conversations with employees at every level of the organization conversations not as your human resource leader but conversations just as a colleague who cares someone who wants to see them succeed even though their success doesn't directly impact your own success. These are real relationships. The ones that form even though nothing and no one says they have to. If you're already a human resource leader at your organization or if you WanNa be one these are the things you should start doing immediately. As companies realize more and more that the employee experience might actually be the most important element of their business. Those who successfully navigate these waters are being looked at and groomed for positions at the top of their org chart. Thanks for listening and have a great day.

Know Your Audience with David Weiss

"Good morning morning sales success community David Weiss here coming at you with some tips for the day my tip today is know your audience so who I was on a call recently with myself the CF over fairly fairly large company and another salesperson and we we started the conversation with the sales person kind of using our standard talk tracks which we have built to be pretty concise for the HR community and we were going through them and our value proposition and the CFO stopped us probably halfway through the talk track said. Hey look you know love your the ideas but this just isn't a fit for organization and I jumped in and started asking some questions around their role their responsibilities in the main things. They're tasked with with an organization so for instance. CFO's are often tasked with saving money reducing operating expenditure sure finding ways to make an organization more revenue consolidating vendors. You know doing different things that that directly impact in organizations nations revenue flow or money management or things along those lines start asking questions around that and they were like yeah. That's exactly what I'm tasked for. That's exactly what I'm trying to accomplish rush and I then said to them. Okay will here are the main ways our solution directly impacts those things and they said wait so you're you're telling me the expenditure. I have here here and here you all are going to decrease as I guess we're going to decrease by about this much and they were like well so that would mean this many this much more and it was in the millions of dollars to Myron Ization. I said yeah that's exactly right. That's normal and that's what we do every day and I said okay now you're speaking a language. I can hear and from there the conversation evolved went really well and this person now champion us to the HR operational partners that we also often work with so my my point to the audience is this we all have have typical buyers that we've built talked tracks for there are buyers that we also touch within the life cycle of deal. That may not be our standard or that. We may have not developed very specific talk tracks four and my recommendation is absolutely to do so no what's in the head of your buyers no-one. Your Coo's care about your CHR rose your CFO CEO's no at the kind of trigger buttons KPI's things at their mostly tasked with things that they care about and make make sure you build individual tracks for them because in the same vein if we went to a CHR with the CFO talk track they may be excited if they're highly business-minded it but it doesn't necessarily impact the core things that they're trying to do so when you do that you're going to be able to to speak a language the person you're talking to here because otherwise you you might as well almost be speaking German to a to an American citizen because they they just they just don't get it. They won't be able to truly here. You truly understand you. They may get the gist they may see some value but it doesn't resonate to what they're trying to solve for so that's my tip of the day when you are working with a buyer. Do Your prep crap. Do your homework no what they care about an intake your talk track whatever it is and Taylor and lead with the most important things in the in the things that people care about in the things they want to hear from you first and then you can go into everything else.

Justify - A Legacy Questioned

"Justify another exhilarating exhibition by the supremely gifted athlete. He's on the dizzying. US enter greatness the winning the Santa Anita Derby clearly from both arrive according to an article written by Joe Drape in the New York Times shortly after this race justify vite tested positive for a banned substance called scopolamine in humans scopolamine is used to treat motion sickness or nausea. That's it's caused by say anesthesia. But why would it end up in a horse. Is it a performance enhancing drug. SCOPOLAMINE is in the least greeted grievous class of drugs. According to the guidelines of the Association of Racing Commissioners International Still The Times article reported that justify had had three hundred nanograms per milliliter which a veteran drug lab official called excessive according to The Times the California horse racing being bored waited nearly three weeks to alert Bob Baffert that the horse had had a positive drug test that was nine days before the Kentucky Derby then the Times Times reports. It took nearly four more months before the board made a final decision on the matter in August. They dismissed it. The New York Times article clearly clearly raises quite a few questions about the results the process and the information spelled out in the story so to help us. Shed some light on this we we welcome in one of the California horse racing board members involved in the process Jesse Choper who is now retired from the board and is also a professor meritous of law at cal Berkeley and a constitutional scholar in fact when Mr Choper finished law school he served as the clerk for the Chief Justice Disobey the Supreme Court Earl Warren so Mr Choper. Let's take this one step at a time first of all. What do you remember about. I hearing about a positive test for justify the horse that had at that point won the Santa Anita Derby and would be heading to the Kentucky Derby that horse you know always a famous course so it seems to me that I would have remembered something I thought about when you cut in touch with me and it may well be you know we do dozens of cases on this every month so I I it seemed to me as as I looked over the whole thing that everything was done pursuant to protocol I think that the racing board at the time should be commended rather than criticized for what it is what it what it didn't that case why the you know the Horse was considered to be the number one horse at the time and to going to run in the the the triple crown. Look for it and what we did is we we listen to the case it involved in drug. I should say drug that has since been stated to be one that is not forbidden at all okay but at the time it was my experience on the racing board is always been that we are overly sensitive to this. I think we have the most thorough investigations on these matters or or considerations these matters than any racetrack in the country AH outside of California certainly been including outside but you know any any race track we do the same thing for all all of the local California race tracks so he did get a positive on it and I I imagine although Oh I don't know that I I recall it that they asked it to be done it over again. I don't know I think it was renewed. As a positive and I think it was agreed to be a positive subsequently after that the board considered it I my guess in something something like this is a twenty twenty five minute conversation and I truthfully do not remember exactly what happened but I imagine that at that time we did not put the horse. disqualified a horse from their race that he had entered well. Let's take a one step at a time here first of all. Do you recall whether justify was the only horse to test test positive at that time for scopolamine. No Okay Doctor Arthur the Ecuadoran medical director director told a member of the Vegas Stats and information network that six horses tested positive. I must say that if Rick said that and that's the fact he is a he his he's the most he's the most respected of the people with the whole country in terms of being the medical medical representative that reports to the board. So what did you end and the other CHR be commissioners know about this drug scopolamine what it does to a horse how it gets into a horse etc at the time. I'm sure that we were informed about it. Okay but I certainly don't recall so the CHR be then notified Bob Baffert who as you mentioned ordered a second test a B sample of the urine there always to in case something goes wrong the first time and it came back positive yes. Yes that's right so the New York. Times article says the sports rules were not followed Mo.. We should point out that there is no one governing body for the sport in this country each state that sanctions horse racing makes its own rules so so in California. What is the timeframe for reviewing these samples. The is is I reviewed by Stewart. It's at the race track. They go for it. They make a judgement that can be appealed and then some of them can be appealed to be reviewed by the racing board on a number of them. We look at it over the written record and decide. It's not worth ah the time of the Board to review it otherwise we do review. What if you ask me if we reviewed it. I don't know I think we probably did eh. The New York Times article said that Bob Baffert was notified nine days before the Kentucky Berbie which would have been over three weeks since the result of the test was made known to you. What do you know about out that and how do you feel about that timeframe. I don't have any idea that as to whether this was any different than the ordinary timeframe that would occur under the circumstances of the facts of this case

Survivor 39 Preview: 7 Things You Need to Know About Island of the Idols

"The heck is is going on with season thirty nine of survivor. I am Rob Sister Nino and hello welcome to the survivor preseason we back and we are ready to go and I have a tag team. Duo of men who went out to Fiji to learn learn about everything that's going on. You can imagine giant paper towel heads of them right here. In the studio. Please please welcome Josh Wig Ler and Mr Mixmaster Mike Bloomer Rob. I'm so happy you put in the money to get get all that paper. Cover my nose on your giant bust of me. Is that really means a lot that you would go the extra mile just for that. I just can't believe that you couldn't pony pony up for the wombat replica for me and because it's just my giant head you couldn't even get mustard colored parachute short yes from rumble from the EPA uh-huh okay. I know you say you said tag team and it just made me sorely unhappy that Josh and I were ships in the night when it came to the royal rumble which is maybe maybe at the at the time that people are talking. That's another podcast. That's another podcast. That's from last week's Robin. Akiva need a podcast yeah. This is survivor lost to right. You're right. We most recently all recorded together on the brand steel simulation of of the season one of lost. Look put all that nonsense aside because this is. This is the main event we are. We are back talking about real. Will you say survivor coming up here. In just a matter of weeks. Jussia perhaps the most truncated preseason of all town certainly since I've been covering survivor as a reporter this is by far and away the shortest preseason and we're GONNA do the people in my mentions. Stop asking me about it. I told you once I'll tell you again. Donut me. Ah The decisions that are far above my pay grade but we're here. It's happening. It's real and I'm so delighted for for this this one for a number of reasons but primarily the primary reason has really nothing to do with survivor the season itself but the fact that I had a very exciting exceptional special co-pilot along the ride with me for this preseason and that was mixmaster. Mike himself making making his survivor preseason debut out there for Parade magazine and I am a proud papa bear of this order becoming a man at thirty nine. Yes yes Oh my God Mike. I'm just so thrilled to finally be able to talk about our adventure venture together. Yes so I mentioned this briefly. When we doted on survivor allender the idols at the end of edge of extinction when there was that thirty second promo during the reunion that made people who were saying what the heck is going on. Maybe add an exclamation point to the end of that question mark based on what was shown and Josh and I were able to go out there to Fiji to cover the pre season of survivor thirty nine my very first time going out there and and I mean I will say with no ounce of Sardonic mean whatsoever that it might have been one of the best experiences of my life. We're going to touch upon you know all the stuff that we got to do there. Were some really opportune moments. I think we've got to take advantage of over the course of this season in particular that makes it a bit different different from other seasons that Josh has been out of you know in the past but I mean I also couldn't have done it without this guy. We have many for gene honeymoon photos together uncomfortable get posted now that the embargo lifted but it has the embargo lifted on the secret texts that must have been exchanged between our respective lives who were serious with US reporting it up in Fiji especially as Angelo was very close to bringing asher bloom into the universe yeah. It's it's been such a long offseason at least in my pain especially sitting on misinformation for nearing six months of this point. I mean maybe it's because my son was born two weeks before edge of extinction and did but I don't know it seems like the past several months and not just because because of the truncated preseason but it's felt very long to me. I don't know if you guys feel the same way. Is that a real that your wife's text is. There is a little bit of correspondent. There was some while there's a different time schedule. I think we were trying to you know remain as much out of the Doghouse as the war your dog houses possibly be about dog house yeah but for the fact of the matter is you know we were across the world doing some pretty ridiculous things in Fiji Asia able to you know talk about it and talk about the fact that we were doing absolutely silly things together. We're going to be talking about over the we were cast roommates. We shared a room. We slumbered into Hot Fijian nights together. We had we had lots of lots of toxin and planning sessions and strategy sessions just great bonding moments that occurred between Mike Bloom before lost down. The hatch was even a twinkle in our collective active. I at that point Mike but you can we we've been on a great journey together this year and much of it blossomed and began here. You're on the island of the idols so it is it is our great pleasure to finally open the doors to this secret place and finally talk about it a little bit so let's set up what we're going to do here today. So Josh Mike have been out to Fiji. They were on location. They learned everything I myself. This is how I operate. I put my head in the sand. I try to learn as little as possible about future survivor seasons where wherever I can could help it because for me then it keeps it fresh as we go through it in the real time and so what we've done here today is. I'm in the blackout route. I have not followed anything survivor this morning and so I am going to learn and react to whatever Josh and my don't lie to me. Don't tell me like fake things. That aren't true. It's alive with you know don't do for that but I then I will get to react to the things that you were going to tell me and the listeners about this new season of survivor. I like okay. That sounds really fun and there's certainly a lot as well. Josh and I have come up together. it's a lot yeah seven things that we learned while going on set set for survivor island of the idol of it deals with the titular island itself some with Boston. Robin Sandra some with the cast Cetera so there's a lot to experience over the course of that week we we are in Fiji together and I'm happy to finally get into it as Joshua's alluded to yeah. Here's what I know. We have rob and Sandra are going to be there. I've been seen commercials for that and they're going to be coaches of players. That's that's from what I understand. That's the that's all I've got island. I think we you can start there and elaborate. I think is going to be easy enough to do and I will just begin by being a shameless and I will come out and say T- CHR DOT com slash survivor to plug my stuff and Mike. Where can people find your beautiful articles that you're writing about this season season parade dot com slash tag slash survivor and I'm also trying to come up with a hug page I think for everything island of the idols related because as we're GONNA be talking about near the end of this podcast? There's GonNa be a lot of coverage coming out from both our ways over the course of the these two plus weeks Saturday night articles really as as close for Mike Sake. That is pretty darn. Close the truth away from the number. You know I might give you the closest without going over here. You're you're you're still young and spry enough to to put out a volume that I will never be able to approach again. I can't wait to read it. I'm very loud so that volume does make sense okay all right. So what is number one. What is the number one on the list of the seven things. WE'RE GONNA learn here today. In this podcast well well. Let's start with as you guys mentioned what I think the survivor audience conventionally new or found out about island of the idols as of the end of May Boston Boston Rob Sandra twine are back sort of they're not playing the game and I cannot say this enough right Boston. Austin Robbins Sandra will not enter the game. They will not become players. This is not a big brother. Fourteen situation says it they're going to be serving as advisers for the entirety of the season living out there on the titular island of the idols and we'll get into you know what what exactly they're going to do in a little bit but I also want to mention that as well you know. Josh put up a great interview with Robin Sandra that we had the opportunity to go visit the idols yeah. which was I mean Josh? You can talk to your first reaction to this but this was a biggles shocker for me at least when we found out this was happening. Oh yeah no hugely really surprised you know one of the things that I was going to do when I got out there was I was gonNA. I was GONNA come to Jeff. PROBST and Matt Van wagged in with like a list of suggestions like all right. You guys need themes. I got themes the themes he wants themes AB- slinging themes at a discount and a free free of charge charge just ideas take them have them get away with extinction and start coming up with some things that you can do if you need ideas and I'm nowhere even in the realm of the vicinity of the closest approximation of the center of the list that I have anything resembling Boston Robin Sandra Diaz twine and their gigantic fricken head statues were secretly inhabiting an island that everybody would be going out to visit visit so when when I learned this information I did a lot of like the wand off caliber laughter directly Jeff Jeff probst space as I was. I was finding out this information for the first time because I was just I was astonished. I was shocked I was tickled by it and it was presented to me as basically like a sentient ghost island right like ghost island hinged on this this library of artifacts this like a haunted museum museum a spooky playground. If you will that is out there that's populated by all these different relics from survivor seasons past. There's really not a ton of that. Personality popped on the screen. I think and I think that the idea behind I o is making I have affectionately come to call it though type doubt it looks like a lower case. Ll which may also be appropriate literally getting high it was described to me sort of as a sentient ghost island ghost island with actual people representing that personality and they're being this really whimsical bent to it and having Robin Sandra out there living it up ah talking the talk walk the walk and a lot of Boston rob. Ghost in evolution strategy also yet to be net seriously really. Do we have any we've ever had goes to Sandra. We did not we did not have Sanchez goes. We did have Boston Rob's ghost. We had Boston Guide as well if I call and both of these things have kind of come true he did. This less predicted it. This is another action. That's like the simpsons wins. Did it of audio because if you record for three hundred hours you're bound to today. I want to circle back to what you said about Robin Sandra AH coaches they will not be players because and you you sound adamant about this which puts me at ease because that's my biggest concern going into this this because I remember big brother fourteen very well we just revisited with Dalton Ross's oral history of dance funeral. Josh doesn't know what any of this this is. Josh back in big brother fourteen what happened was there were coaches in big brother fourteen and it was.
