"First time since 1995 last year. At least they are positioned quite nicely here too. And oh, in the nonconference. And well, they didn't get to wins until the month of October last year, they are to know to begin after starting on six last year going 37 Wolverines are too old to free Pen Hills tonight. 26 to 7 here at the Wolverine. Yeah. And, you know, started the game like hills with controllers football game on the first drive that blocked just like the resiliency of the hills Wolverines this year. I do so without a natural kicker. They do some things and maybe You know, Tim Boston would like it to be somewhat different, but these kids play hard and they play together and he's doing a great job of feature Deante Williams and using people write him. I thought Tariq CPO had a tremendous game. They're good. Taylor Brooks that they're pretty good. And if they just stay together, make a Mason boys in the W All right. Stand by. "To manageable field goal position for the Penn Hill's Indians. 24 Yard try for Jonah Silverman. It'll be from the far hash a 37 ago in our opening quarter on 1/4 down and five Here comes the snap back. It's a slow one, and the kick is going to be blocked. Coming up on blocking the field goal is Tariq CPO CPO, along with Yarbrough blocked field goal. It was slow developing as the long snapper for Penn Hill's eight and fan could not get a good hard snap off. Show. Tariq CBO tremendous job. CPO. The 6 to £167 senior on the block field goal means that the ball will be acquired by Woodland Hills at the 25 yard line with eight minutes 25 seconds to go. The Woodland Hills Wolverines, able to stand tall with a big defensive play, his pen hills was marching seemingly at will. No score in the ballgame a 25 and are opening quarter first look offensively at the Woodman Hills Wolverines quarterback is Deante Williams and he will hand the ball off to the single running back. And this is Taylan Brooks Brooks comes straight up the middle. Brooks comes over and we'll gain a couple of hard yards. Out to about the 22 yard line Yale Williams threw for I believe 276 yards last week against Donald Bill. It'd look bad time like Penn Hill's is saying, You know what Woodland Hills is known for, and we want to establish that run eight people in talk about a gang tackle on the first play of the game. Penn Hill's Indians defense Getting after second down nine yards to go ball from the 23 Yard line of Woodland Hills. Williams in the gun, Aris E Bowl, is the running back off his left shoulder. "Pierce and you're going all I can't believe I can't believe I'm GonNa full pants and the stairs or on the college beforehand. So be aware of getting involved in the rest. Things didn't go to plan last year yet. He still managed to win and win quite well. But I think that's a fascinating and I understand why you're not going to say who the train risen. You're absolutely right not to but I do think it's an interesting. Take on it with that in mind. Then have you been looking at an alternative market? The problem I have with this rhys is that I don't think Somerville boy helps himself with his jumping enough he was it was impressive. Enough in the World Keel Hurdle but he bungled Snyder mistake that they say mistake at the second last in the lead and he made a bad mistake of the last and then rallied when he was headed. I just I wonder whether he's an entirely sure of East Asia because he was a strong finishing second but he said US Lopez which is better than anything else and those were all in the past where were helped by that so whether he's three miles. I don't know I think Emmett's hall is potentially very good. But although he jumped while they wanted hate time is held by the School of Henrietta Nights. She did describe him as Bryan. Probably knows as the thickest horse she has ever had anything to do with. Comes the impression impression you get there. Is that although Her work paid off last time. I well at hate it. When when winning the The rental Shem Cheltenham. He could easily make mistakes again. Let me just quite likely. I think he's the type. Of course he will do really well over fences next season. I think he's a very exciting horse but he's pretty ignorant as well as the ideal scenario to have. But you know if you're gonNA avoid mistakes and got himself into contention amateurism hard horse to put a ceiling on in terms of his ability. It's easy to crime the hateful suggesting per second data formats absolutely wrong solid. But you know this is a horse. He's only had one per run and his entire career. The issue with him is that his jumping has been hit and miss through wider career. And if he can get together then he can build on his early promise and become very good. Pen Hill may be working up to something I get something next to To someone with a connection to panel last night but he's not even going to tell them this year which is not a great sign. So you're talking about Tony Bloom but you know there are friends and colleagues of Tony who have to involvement in his horses as well my mid Keith. The camel and a well known poker players one of them e gain to the to the preview last night and nothing of any great interest to to offer in terms of panels corporation this year And he did it today. Also go and watch him run but I know in the past when pantyhose won the hurdle that Keith be put off by by what Williams says where's twenty com. So whatever way you like see I don't think Kennels by the Horsey was but he is at least gradually getting bunch of war and the suggestion has been that he's been very hard horse to get fit and essentially been using the racecourse to whom his fitness this season on. Although he's not showing his old form yes he's gradually getting a little bit better something the boyhood last time I was was certainly a step in the right direction. Apple's Cheetahs going to wear blinkers in. Well being they decide if she runs she wins as a pretty good opportunity to go out on a high. I find a little sad that she's getting blinker. Slapped on for this rhys I understand. Maybe chomping blinkers on our or running. In the mayor's they can blinkers on her but she's never looked strong. Stay over three miles at entry last year. I know she's won over three miles. She's beaten slightly suspects. There were three miles washes to form over three miles in the path. She's always lived in a bass joined two and a half and I think sticking around blinkers here. Even if she is roughly back to form these getting chances of lasting home she may end up. Putting the past of the risks. You know. Half of these may think abides. Let's set a steady pace and get in trouble. I'm turning into a sprint finish. Maybe we'll be. Applegate decides the tear over fronts. Because she's been running coordial season. Everyone just lets go and she might end up. Bomb surprising is only going to four. But the vibes. The vibes are absolutely terrible. Robert Jared Gordon. Gordon just seem to have given up on her entirely and this is just last sticks. I'm head on stick around and see what happens. There's no there's no sign of any confidence there at all those being a bit of confidence behind Ronald Pump and saints. He could've run in the the final but he's not committed to the To the stairs When he would chew an apples jide one pump run on the same card and on on Seemed to impress the the atom speeds judge's time boys lot more than she did A few of the guys are Ronald Pump. Big prices and ECKERD's eager unfairly. Well the one if I thought it was going to be a strong one I being through a couple of Blah Blah. H Way would be to be fair. There was very very solid and high class handicapper. He needs an end to end gallery. Didn't get it when he was when he was reasonably close up on the cleave. But I thought you around well on the circumstances I think he would turn the tables with with a couple of those in front of him in a well run race over this course and distance. He's got tons of one over three miles at Cheltenham. He very nearly one. Last year's per temps of course with a biggish wit Assigned from Paisley pointless at standing stayers hurdle. So I can see getting into the frame he. He clearly count pains. Something goes wrong with a favorite but he definitely could finish third or fourth in a well run race and he's going to be sixty six to one a sixty six to one shot from rory to make the frame. Does anybody WANNA put up an each way. Horse against pays the park city island might enter might say allegations. It was a complete disaster. Doubt about that. But it's kind of easy to forget In the body more last year and I think we we mentioned big books in a standing ovation. Disres- big book Saturday. The board said another chase season before he ran the stairs You know it's not inconceivable. Rhode Island this seven hundred two disasters rooms over fences. Although in the big bucks he won a three mile handicap hurdle here and then he wanted cleeve hurdle before he won the won the shares. Coming coming straight here on the back of Badran events is hardly ideal no. It's not ideal yeah. Martin is shrewd operator. I don't think that become a near have made this decision if they had a chance to think he's Genuine gold ground on Thursday signs. Already might get that. So he's willing to be placed became back to what he was like a Nassar's anymore I think is a good chance of being placed so four not The more I look at this race the more I think he might not bolt up. But he's going to win express basically I know he's had a different preps lost time at the ground could be a bit of a concern but he looks rock solid. All things royal saying about tactically. Everyone's going to be get be tactically. Because on all known form they contact with what's being well with how races have been run currently so somebody is going to have to try something different and I think everyone will be trying something different basically. So that's GonNa make it a very interesting race to watch bucks for me. It's all about Paisley Park and I feel like this kind of been less chats about him all nice because in a he's become not boring but you know it's hard to really pick holes in him. Nobody's GonNa strong against him because he so rock solid and he's been new big bucks isn't they? Currently I'm all about him. Basically and you can obviously take. Upon was something I had to pick price. You could make case. Lots of them in their city island. Sound Bill Boylans bench and pays departure win? And that's all we really need tonight at this stage. I think he's banker. Material the quote from Gordon. Elliot's from the bet for children preview night. She's been the Horse of a Lifetime. Eleven grade ones Os is nothing. She wears her partner sleeve. I think the stairs career. So let's watch your runs with credit tastic. If you could win a story that would be but either way. She's been an incredible resource and it looks as though it will be the last time we see her on the truck. So that's that's enjoy. The Brown advisory in Maryville a stable flight handicap chase rory. I think we'll be trying to get access to the Brown advisory Maryborough stable plate handicap chase Teams corporate box. I believe the invitation to the final for the PODCAST team to go there. So rory tip. That engagement KROC opened this handicap firs. Rory who wins limitation to a book? She's a man S. I tend to like I was trying to convince Warren graduates to run the Bible while here than the ultimate for the exactly the same reason because her her best dine is going forward and when she's when she's making the running she looks so it's more of a threat than than on the rare occasions. But you've been held up at a raises so therefore. I wanted to see a run. She's equally effective at two hundred and fifty miles. I wanted to see running this wrist. Historically she hasn't held reform through them I spoke to warranted by charities. At last year she went to the. Dublin racing festival she won. You know everything looks the literature. She won the won the star account over Christmas from Dublin. She was very quiet and she never really recovered responsible for the rest. Easy a lot either result. You know she was going to every town since she was really up for everything and as a result as in previous seasons she was quieter in the second half of the season and they'll showing her for this year she hasn't shown form early on. She was very disappointing for somebody to Wetherby Mitchell. Johnson Roger and she did. She did when she was third in the Peterborough. That was still a little bit disappointing. Because Call Rico for seconds She stepped up again when she was third in that really good mares chase at doncaster winches being just over lengthened to third warrants should not day and she run better still in the face of a really stiff task in the Irish Gold Cup last time on the really interesting thing. Is you thought coming from a really hard run at in. Dublin given. She's on. She's a full run season that she would again. Comeback slightly subdued on the be thinking about missing Cheltenham. Wish had done in the past on trying to fresh out for for April. I'm Warren said to me. Yes you come from Dublin. And she was. She was absolutely full of totally different to last year. You'd have thought you'd expect you to be a little teeny time to get over that reince. But she was very quickly bachelor. Self really good form. He says he's got a little bit lazier with age..

"Our report has been out for just about eight minutes. Now, it's four hundred page report. I'm not ignoring it. It's just hard to talk about if we haven't read it. I'm curious how many people are actually going to read it? I suspect they're going to be some bombshell. I won't say bombshells I'll say land mines I'll say land mines, but we're not gonna we're going to give folks time to digest all of that before we just react respond off the top of our heads. Which is why we're going to go to the phones right now. Erin Vecchio is the president of the pen hill school board. And once again, the Penn hills area is in the news because state Representative Tony DeLuca has now made some proposals for reforms because of the financial woes of the school district. But Aaron just right out the gate. These proposed reforms don't do anything to deal with the debt. You guys are facing. Absolutely nothing. All this was with a horse and. Pony show. He he has to get its relief. Now, these things will do nothing for people living here. Now the can't afford to pay their taxes. So when you heard the I mean, I guess let me ask you. This are the reforms valid separate from the fact that they don't address the debt issue in Peres. Exactly. They don't address anything that's going on right now. This this never current Penn hills ever again because you're not going to have enough money to build anything here. I mean, it's absolutely crazy that he came out with his first of all how many months after the record comes out. He should be trying to find out how to stop the school district from having to raise the people's taxes anymore. We cannot afford to even live here anymore. And we can't keep screwing these kids out of a good education. Now, the Representative is going to be joining us in the next half hour. So certainly I can address some of these questions to him directly. But I think one of the things that is is somewhat perplexed. To me as just kind of an observer of what's happening in Penn hills is there's a back and forth back and forth. But it's the people who live there that are kind of caught in the middle. And I'm not sure that they're seeing any light at the end of the tunnel. Not. There is no light and less somebody fails us out. And I know that's terrible to say. But that's the only way it's going to happen. I mean, the people are going to be taxed out of their houses. And let somebody does something to stop it. I mean, we looked at every option we're doing this recovery right now, which we're looking at. Probably be cutting a lot of teachers and a lot of other people that work at the maintenance people administrators across the board cuts. But I mean, all that's doing is hurting the kids when I was gonna say when you when you look at cuts like that. And then given the tax base that you've talked about there's going to be less incentive to either move depend hills or send your kids. Depend hill schools. Absolutely, right. You're you're gonna you're going to send people out of here charter school. They're going to move to different areas because they can't afford to live here. And it's absolutely ridiculous. The first place this is what really makes me mad. He had every opportunity in the world because he state rep for thirty eight years to stop these schools from being built in the first place. He pushed me off the board in two thousand nine the schools started construction in that I've sat in that audit. I fought tooth and nap to stop them. He did nothing all he did was going east schools. Opening took pictures of himself with all the people standing there all problems at that. Oh, we have new schools now. But yet we can't even afford them because they overpaid overpriced everything in schools if they would have stuck with the project that they put in place in two thousand. Nine we would not be in this would initiative, but we're going to get him on the phone and just a couple minutes. Thanks him. I am wacky. We're gonna ask him how many jobs his family got for these for these schools? Okay. Okay. The play to pay seen everyone of his family members got jobs. Okay. We're built. All right. Our as a question. Thank you, Aaron Vecchio you talking to the state Representative, Shirley. But right now, you're listening to NewsRadio Katie K, eight ten twenty get up. I smoke cigarette before lunch after lunch now that I'm talking about it. I kind of feeling like a loss about four hours of every day. I decided I needed to find an alternative. So I started looking in jewel came up. I did both for awhile it eventually. I just switched over..

"Morning news. Make sure we spread the love. We're all fans of the WPA L. And it's nice to see when we get in that double A action that we actually can handle some of these teams from the other part of the great state of Pennsylvania because for years it was kind of lopsided and quarterfinals PI classic say playoff pine bushland. Just throttled state college fifty-six thirty-three coach casper, which this guy when he played at north hills for north Allegheny for north hills for coach McCurry, he was a rocking shock football player went on. And have a great career at Pitt as well too. You know, he's really turned into a good football coach, Greg. Yes. Very good. Very good. And and we were I think we're talking a little bit. It was off the air last week that that he could be a guy that you know, becomes one of those either he becomes a legend there or moves in and coaches college football there was alleged. Claire was there for years, and you realize this is how I have these facts that mean nothing to no one, but me. You know at one time pine Richland was known just as Richland Jack McCurry who went on to become the great coach at north hills. Great principle played at Geneva under gene, Sheldon who used to coach Richland coach Jack McCurry at Richland, which is now pine richly. And then how about this? You get spare wick Gasparovic who went to north hills. And then goes to pine played for coach Macari. Isn't that amazing? These things are tied together. I met him one time. I mean, when I when I was famous back in the day, and I had like a lot of stuff going on in high school football play by play and television, we recovering coach McCurry, and you know, he played for him. So I only saw him in his uniform from a distance and I met him in person. And he's he's he's a big young fellow. He's he's well put together. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, this guy looks like he could still put the helmet on go out and play a little almost one of those guys that even when he was playing at Pitt wasn't big enough. Molly. Yeah. Yeah. He could play he could play reminiscent of Tommy Flynn. Who was the the Penn hills guy who went on to play both sides of the ball at Pitt in those areas. Same same type of player could could do everything. Yeah. And speaking of Penn hills, congratulations to them to would have been nice for Bobby Palko to go out on a win. But listen, you know, that guy's career. I what I'm curious, and I talked to him the other day, and I couldn't get it out of him. I can't imagine him. Just he says he's retiring from west, David not football. You got the Duquesne shirt on? I don't care where Robert Morris anybody. Can you imagine what he could do? I mean pit anyone. I mean as far as that bridge between the high school player, and I mean, I just think he'd be a great addition anywhere with his energy there. There's no way that he can't be a plus to any institution of higher learning at some point in time. And and maybe that's what would be the hook for him is to to be able to go to a college and night did coach at Duquesne. I believe for a year. Or two in-between the Ginette and west a era. So I think that he'll come up in resurface in. I hope it's in western Pennsylvania because he's too good of a guy too. Good of a family in western Pennsylvania to not retain that asset. And by the way, south Fayette, our buddy Bubba actually has his son playing for them. Which is a good thing. You just told me that love Bubba. And that's that's good stuff, but they lost to cathedral prep, forty two to ten coach Rossi. I mean, literally after that win against TJ. It was going to be difficult for them. I mean that was a huge win. They really had above and beyond. What anybody thought they would have as far as the season is concerned something to me about the w winning the WPA? Al winning two state is almost anticlimactic to me. I you know, I'd rather win the Whitfield and win the state. But I gotta tell you if you're playing at mansion park and there's like six inches of snow on the field. There's something I don't know pretty special about that as a player, rob. But for anybody who has to go and watch that stuff. That's brutal, especially if it's your kid now when we were kids, our dads would come with a pint. Can't do that anymore. Folks. You can't do that anymore. All right. I'm going to get back to college football. So what's next for pit? I mean, if you look at them from afar, if you could have a Christmas wish wished as far as a particular position nothing against anybody. Who's currently you know on either side of the football for pit. What do you think they need? Well, I can I say to positions first off. I think they had a serviceable quarterback this year. They didn't get the quarterback play that they really expected as far as a next step toward becoming an NFL type guy. So I think the quarterback position in there could be about a you've got Jeff George junior there. Now who's going to probably push for that starting position to get like, dad? No, nobody can sing like that. Guy that guy had one tremendous harm not not much else about them. But a tremendous arm, and he's kind of an unknown factor transferred in. So nobody knows enough about him didn't show us much in either of the brief performance that he's had so far this year ACA throw football. Oh, man. What a rifle we're in green tree if he gave me five minutes. He could hit me down and out over at Starbucks in Mount Lebanon, right on my fingertips. That's how good he was. He was he was really special. So the you know the quarterback now. Now, the other thing that you got concerned with is is you're running back position. But we've learned this especially load. You can always find another running back, but you're losing two guys you both both of those guys are seniors. So it's going to be very difficult situation in the beginning to see which guys going to emerge as a running back next year. What about linebackers what about secondary? What about tight ends? What about special team? I mean what? Well, their whole defensive secondaries back, and you're gonna you're gonna add the Ford kid to the mix. Everybody thought he was going to step up this year. Yeah. And and he did not really do all that much this year. He got on the field some, but but wasn't the presence that was expected there. Hopefully, you don't want a situation where I didn't play enough and I'm transferring. But if if you add him to that mix, that's another tremendous athlete. So they're defensive secondaries going to be fine. They lost quitting were genus early this year who was their senior leader, and they seem to fill in. Okay there. Most of that real good defensive front is back. Rashad Weaver is back which is a key to them. The Jones the second Ninety-one the defensive end is back. So you're going to see a pretty good defense coming back, but nobody plays defense in college anymore. Anyway, listen, can you imagine? And I can't help it because I'm lost in the eighties. So your your pet hills Wednesday whip you on I'm real happy for them. A lot of a lot of good friends in Penn hills. Can you imagine you see Bill Froehlich like playing midget football Penn hills and your coach and you're thinking, okay. Should I just like go somewhere else and get a better deal? And you see this kid by pancake and people in the eighth grade. I mean, these are like urban legend stories are like Marino, you know at Saint Regis throwing ten touchdown passes in a game. And I don't know if that's a factor fiction. But I'm sure he came close. But I mean, we didn't have guys that can catch ten passes from the central. I mean, say Regis. I mean think about it though, Greg. I mean, these are stories of legend it gives me chills. Talking about it. The the legend of Bill Froehlich indicates greater over time. But legend had it that he did not play in the mid system in Penn hills. But he played for the Morningside BULLDOGS. Joe Natoli Bernie beloved Morningside BULLDOGS over there. And that's where he he could go some people say that as an eighth grader he dressed on pen hill sidelines because he was already big enough to do that. And perhaps were snuck into a game or two with Andy or Banik being the coach at that time. So the legend of Bill frantic was something, but I will tell you this in a pen hill central game. He was so dominant that he was throwing people around he came over to the central sideline. And I was there to witness this one, and he said to rich early our head coach Hayward, don't you guys have anybody better? It was a classic statement from a high school kid to a head coach. Let's see if Alex.

"The best deal in Pittsburgh yesterday. There was a hearing the WPA L conducted in regards to claims made by Penn hills students and family members that there were racial slurs used against players from connersville. And apparently, it took hours to go through the entire process of of hearing all the witnesses our own Joe to steal covering the story for us this afternoon. Joe we're not going to get the final decision until sometime. Tomorrow morning, right. Yeah. You're right. This was a rather lengthy hearing that went into last evening, the WPA L board took testimony in a lot of it. It was closed doors. A lot of the testimony was kind of one on one. They would call. A witnesses in from both sides, but one on one really trying to compare stories to find out because if you're not there, and you know, how these things go there's just a lot of competing allegations. Penn hills players say that it was both some connersville players and fans the game was played at Collinsville back on September six and there was a kind of game that got out of hand a little bit. A connel's Bill is a strong team. They started to dominate the game. And at that point pen hill says that's when some of these feelings came out now, we don't know specifically what was said, and we don't know specifically what was said in the hearing. There are allegations of the N word being used and other racial slurs. The WPA all board will come out with its decision after talking about this after last night's hearing, but Tim O valley, who's executive director admits these kinds of things are hard to sort out because. Have competing allegations many in connersville deny the allegations. I saw the mayor of connersville spoke to the Tribune review sang connersville is not a racist community. He was at the match didn't hear some of the things that opinions players claim. We're said O'Malley says what they tried to do. Of course, this is far from the first time that this has come up they try to reach some consensus. They can't maybe nailed down everything, but they try to reach agreement between their member schools. We can't enforce any discipline on any kids. You know, we oversee the ethnic programs in hold the program itself accountable. The typically the solution for situations such as this rest with the member schools and their collective and cooperative efforts to arrive at a meaningful solution, and what are we anticipated that they're going to say tomorrow? Do we have any clarity on? Then. I would hope I mean in past. Instances they've come down with some sort of a a program for the schools to follow. So that students can learn from this. It is possible that the school district's can discipline their kids their students. We don't know if that's going to happen because connel's villa at least publicly what has been said about this and not a lot has been said about a publicly. Deny the allegations. But that's what we've seen in the past. If you remember there was it was Obama academy from the city of Pittsburgh that had played a match down in West Virginia earlier this year. Remember the case where some? It's wells Berg. I think West Virginia some of the kids down there. They put up a big sign that said Trump Obama, and the there was kind of like, a, you know, an underlying message there and blew up really more on social media. There were really no problems at the game. But there have been other games. Were there a habit brawls that breakout? So whether they'll be disciplined, we'll have to wait and see some sort, of course of action for students to learn from this. There was supposed to be a match played between the two schools today as a is a rematch at Penn hills that was canceled and O'Malley hopes that it will be rescheduled. Granted it's a soccer game in there. It doesn't usually draw a lot of people outside of those who have direct interest. You know, parents your family those who were playing, but I'm surprised there aren't any independent people who were there that are. Clearly making their points known regarding what they happened to hear because they claim is is that it wasn't just from players. It was also from those in the fans were there, not some independent people who really don't have a side that take whether it's from connersville or from Penn hills. You got to wonder about that? But ultimately, we will discover I would guess to some extent when they talk about this tomorrow, and there may be some of that testimony that we don't know about because in fact, it was behind closed doors. So I think part of what O'Malley was kind of indicating was that. While some of these things may have been said, the basic disagreement is how many people how many fans was it an isolated thing. One two three people who who made these slurs or was it a group of people, you know, kind of representing a larger group, and I think that's really what the disagreement comes down. And will there be anybody from one group or the other that will say, no as an example? Will there be anybody from Penn hills that will say no, I was I didn't hear anything or I was there from connersville, and yes, I did hear and what that could. Then mean to I do think they did it right though. And they brought people in one at a time in order to testify that way, you actually got individuals with what their recollections were of what took place without having some level of influence one upon the other as they continue to hear testimony. You hope sports, you know, could be larger. I mean, the the whole idea of high school and college. Amateur sports is to is to go beyond these kinds of problems. But we, unfortunately, we've seen time and time again that the society in sports are pretty much one in the same grind, and considering what we've all seen in different aspects of social media. And what many of us have witnessed ourselves as we've been to youth game the way that parents are just embarrassing themselves. I mean, flat out humiliating themselves in so many ways is it believable. Is it something that you could imagine could actually take place from adults watching a game sad enough to say there's been enough cases where it could happen. Plenty of our own. Joe Joe, thank you very much. Let's go.

"Ten twenty Katie A, man. Penn hills high school accusing connersville fans and players of shouting racial slurs at their soccer players and Shelby cassisi covering the story throughout the afternoon. Shelby. What did you learn while this story came to us through an article at the Tribune review reporting that Thursday at a boy soccer game at cornell's? Ville panels was playing their fans and players were using racial slurs against the black players on the team. Now, an investigation has been filed with WPA Al and they are now looking into that. So formal complaint was or a formal letter of concern was made by Penn hills to the WPA L on Friday, and now connersville and the. The referees. From this game have the chance to respond. So today, I spoke with the executive director of what all Tim O'Malley. And he told me once they have all of these reports they have a meeting on Monday between the board of directors there. And he talked about what they'll do from there. The board will review all submitted documentation at that time and will at that time make a decision in regard to going forward typically in situations like this if the reports that are submitted in the action, it is recommended to be taken by the involves schools is viewed to be sufficient the board will simply accept it. If the board feels at that time on Monday that what the information received requires that we bring both are all involved in the officials in two schools in regard to what was alleged to have occurred. We will schedule a dead. Tommy hearing. The the argument that is being made at this point is it beyond anyone outside of a student to the coaches here these same slurs, or is it just what the students her with the players heard as they were engaged in the game seemed to have been the players, and you know, some of the other opposing parents in the stands at the Penn hills. Parents and the stands that have brought this to the attention of the officials now, of course, no one in a an official position is coming out to say exactly what had happened. But this article in the Tribune review does have a source a sophomore on the team, and he described a little bit more about what had happened. He said that in this game connersville was supposed to blow them out pen hill scored first. And after that first goal fans in the stands when somebody's players were coming over towards the stands. They'd be yelling these slurs at them. And then in addition a player. Connersville player would walk by Penn hills player, say, racial slur. And then at even got so far that as Penn hills was boarding the bus to go back home, some another person set a racial slur at that point. So this seemed to be something that was occurring throughout the entire night. This athlete on the team said that Penn hills players dead tell the referees about this and the referees didn't do much to defuse the situation. Now, these are allegations, of course, investigation is ongoing and they're waiting for the reports to be given from connersville and refereeing referees. And then they're going to then meet again on Monday. Did they give you any indication as to what could be the outcome a punishment? If any at all as a result of this. Yes, Tamale actually did speak to me about what could happen. If these allegations are proved true, if the allegations proved to be true, obviously, they're unacceptable, and then steps would need to be taken to ensure that going forward, they don't happen again. So that. You know, obviously would be there would be need for in servicing in education insensitivity. But again, we have to make sure that the allegations that have been put forward are in fact, accurate, and again, I don't think either school district wants for this to occur. And so now, it's about waiting for the process to run its course. In the meantime, Penn hills said that they're not going to be playing right? And to what extent have they limit? They limited their willingness to play. Yeah. Penn hills has cancelled all of their sporting events against connersville. And it seems until this investigation concludes, and you know, hopefully, a resolution is reached between the two schools, but until then panels hills will not play connersville in any sports night. So not only the issue of soccer, whatever potential football games, there may be or any other. You know, I think it's going to depend on what happens on Monday. I in that meeting as you heard Tim O, Molly say, it's either going to come down to okay. These are the recommendations the schools have made we're going to accept them and move on from there, whatever these schools are suggesting they should do or it's going to continue into a hearing where both sides and the referees are brought in to get into further detail about this. So I think if there is a hearing we'll know about it. And if there are recommendations reached, I think it might be some extra time, she'll be Cassese. Radio dot com today and listen to us anytime anywhere. Is.

"K radio afternoon news distill from gino four always on a tuesday afternoon radios melinda roeder is joining us because the story this morning more closures from the ymca of greater pittsburgh remember we're just about a month or so ago the why announced that it was shutting down its downtown center which a lot of people were used as as a workout club and had only opened a few years earlier and there was some fewer about that but it was all part of the wise bankruptcy reorganization efforts and so now word comes there are three more closures and the question to melinda roeder is melinda is this is this is bad is it going to get or is there more bad news down the line what do they say so for right now we are told that this is going to be the last around if you will of closures and today we had a news conference with the ceo kevin building of the ymca and he talked a little bit about this restructuring or this reorganization and he said this is heartbreaking this was not an easy decision after they closed the downtown and the delmonte location by the way about a month or so ago they knew that they would have additional closures but they really had to assess what other facilities they would need to close what makes sense and they were taking everything into account as far as usage and facilities that they own so that they could actually sell and liquidate those assets and how to pull themselves out of bankruptcy and so he says that he is confident this is going to be the last round of closures but still it's not easy because you had roughly a thousand people give or take at each of these facilities that were regularly coming there to use their facilities not just you know the the workout centers but also after school program which centers are we talking about now which ones what are the three to close so this is going to be pen hills wilmer dang and western area and the western area that was probably not originally on their list however suffered significant flood damage recently to the tune of a half million dollars certainly that was a factor in their decision to close that facility as well do we know how many employees and when i say employees i know a lot of people work at the y part time so it's not all people but how many workers are we talking about how many people affected i guess yeah and at this point they're saying that it's too soon to tell they do have a number of fulltime employees keep in mind at each of these facilities they only had about five full timers they had a lot of part timers yeah they're trying to shift some of those folks around to other facilities that will still continue to operate but at this point it's not clear how many of them will find a new place to land so to speak within the organization and who will be able to to make that switch given given transportation issues and things like that but but the good news is that they do believe that this is going to be enough to help them emerge from bankruptcy and i think we have a sound clip with kevin building the closure of the downtown y for us was a million dollar savings the closure of these other facilities also add so on a pretty considerable number for us close to another six hundred thousand or so and in doing so we start to create an organization that becomes much more sustainable organization that allows us to invest.
