"Following program has been pre recorded for broadcast at this time and now more wealth without risk with Matthew all one on talk radio six eighty W. C. B. M. all right you welcome back everyone Matthew all one here and let's do a quick review started out the show with with one thing that's been going on is very important is the volatility and uncertainty surrounding the markets and everything in our economy has come back with a vengeance it is not going to go away as fast as it came roaring in here unfortunately it just never goes back to where it was quickly it will take time one of the things that's going to happen here that's going to be devastating is that unemployment we've had we're gonna have but in the last three weeks we're gonna have like fifteen million new newly unemployed this is this is enormous these are unbelievable numbers not not seen since the Great Depression and it is staggering how much damage this can do long term now hopefully where we don't know how it's going to unfold how long it will last one of my biggest concerns is that we're gonna think we're out of the woods and then when flu season comes around we're not going to be out of the woods you know this is you know every year of people go get their flu shots people would be you know they they want to stay healthy so in October especially when the kids go back to school this is flu season and you know roughly in October people start getting a flu shot but there won't be a flu shot for the corona virus in October and I can they can't get it done that fast it will take a little longer to develop video next year they'll probably have one but not this year not in October so we may think they were out of the woods but then it'll come roaring back and then it's going to have another you know so it's going to have a rippling unsettling possibly even devastating effect on our economy which means at times like these it's important to play defense and and I'm so I've been saying this for years I mean when you've all heard this before defense wins championships that's why the programs we use are so critically important is because times like these do come along it's easy to forget you know when we were ten years removed from the financial crisis people have seen the market's going off for for ten years they go up every year for ten years but they had a nice steady climb we never had we didn't have a bear market for over ten years we never had a massive correction now com corrections now they won't say a depression they won't say they only say recession so the fact is that these things do happen and being prepared is critical and my clients are prepared my clients don't lose any money so when this thing happens then they don't have to worry about losing twenty five thirty percent of their retirement savings it does because they're protected so that's why I emphasize defense wins championships that's why I think it's so important that the personal pension plan play a role in your retirement because even in times like these the personal pension plan is still growing like I said before winter break one of my clients called me and he said his he has a different plan from five years ago he said Matthew I'm still getting my seven percent right I said yes you are he said I haven't lost any money have I said no you have not lost any money you are still getting your seven percent your accounts are fine you don't have anything to worry about and okay good and all of my clients those things are still growing some of my clients are getting paid therefore you know they're retired they've been retired they're drawing on their accounts are getting paid every month other clients are I'm waiting to get paid because you know maybe they haven't retired generally don't need the money yet it doesn't matter what the circumstances are but they're all in good shape that's what matters they're also not worried about a protracted recession a bad economy a falling stock market is not going to hurt them because this money is either growing because they have the personal pension plan or you know you can have a different program where you make money when the market goes up you don't lose anything when the market goes down and I mentioned earlier about the one program where it's in their group there are growth is linked to golden boy did that go up so my clients are doing well and I'm happy about that I'm really happy about that you go back to the other years when the client might say you know mass to the market was up twenty percent and we only got eight like well remember what what why we did this this is different so again if you want to protect your savings if you want to protect your retirement if you want to learn more about the twenty ten ten give us a call the toll free number is eight eight eight nine seven.

"Effect on markets here in the U. S. across the globe this morning plus this out we're joined by C. B. as business analyst Jill Schlesinger on the potential ripple effect of the economy because of the virus clearly centered on China in mainland China at that in if we look at that and I spoke to a bunch of economists as he you know growth could definitely slowdown in China we were expecting maybe a six percent annualized pace this year maybe could drop down to five percent in the first quarter but a lot of it is dependent on how long this lasts and how deep this crisis becomes the next area to be affected would be trading partners of Chinese goods if China is slowing down internally that they won't buy as much energy than they will buy as many goods so we look at places in Asia we look at the European markets like Germany big exporter into China we look at Brazil also a big exporter and when it comes to the US obviously there are some companies that are impacted but it is clear that we have seen a slight change in philosophy around this last week everybody was saying oh my god the worst is coming markets are trading higher and I think the consensus view is that there will be a short term impact but the unlikely to be a long term impact here in the United States when you talk about short term impact talk about I guess the supply chain because if there is an issue with what the Chinese can put out how does that affect the goods and services that we receive from China I had a really interesting conversation with the CEO and he said to me you know it's fascinating because I guess I should be happy about the US China trade war because it made me reconsider my supply chains anyway so fascinating to consider that many U. S. companies were looking at say the Philippines or other parts of Asia where they could get their goods produced but that doesn't do any good to say somebody who's can ending maybe a smaller supplier who might be saying I don't have the money to shifting so easily so as always is the case usually a large company is much better able to withstand the changes or the unexpected events that occur I think the smaller producers definitely have to sort of sit on their hands and wait to see how this evolves we're also seeing the bond and commodity markets last week at least we're showing some signs of distress what's going on there you know in general when we get nervous we say where's safety where can I hide under the covers and generally speaking that would be in the United States bond market so the ten year treasury price increase the yield went down that was as people were really worry also goal being a flight to safety sometimes but a little bit less so in the last couple of decades now things are reversing themselves I should also note that was a positive impact on the US markets we had manufacturing activity increasing at a better than expected pace so last week drone pal the fed chair had noted they believe that the fed that manufacturing activity had bottoms and we're about to see a little bit more growth that doesn't mean runaway growth but that could be some good news to help investors CBS business analyst Jill Slazenger okay there with deb and more you're listening to one of three point five FM at WTOP dot com sports at fifteen and forty five brought to you by your local Honda dealer don't settle for less than a Honda welcome into the forty one forty five years Jonathan you know the wizards got some reinforcements but it still wasn't enough losing to the warriors one twenty five one seventeen now they trailed by as many as nineteen cut it down to five with four and a half minutes to play but they got no closer coach Scott Brooks reaction wasn't there was not there we didn't come out to play with the right mindset and then the same place hearts you know there are a lot like us they play hard but tonight we didn't have that we have the right mindset on the water I don't know what we were thinking that we were thinking the right things however Bradley Beal did a lot of right things going forty three seven straight game is at least thirty four points while becoming the third highest scorer in team history as he passed John wall now two players it returned from injury re how to Morris scored eleven mo Wagner a by the way is still couldn't be the worst team in the NBA missing Steph curry the Angelo Russell and Klay Thompson no problem for the thirteenth right Maryland women they mauled Michigan state ninety four fifty three Ashley was who had twenty two points for coach Brenda Frese from the tip I thought actually separated herself just made some tremendous plays that that really got a spark to and going and so to Taylor Mike cell who scored twenty one Kyla Charles seventeen meanwhile third ranked Oregon handed number for Yukon one of its worst home loss is on the codes Gino Auriemma seventy four fifty six tight end Vernon Davis made it official he is retiring after fourteen seasons in the NFL with the forty Niners the Broncos and the last four years with the Redskins he's thirty six Jennifer Warner W. "C. B. S. coming up on K. C. B. S. if companies want to go public their boards need to better represent the public the cinema county institution closed its doors and open to a pop up in the house impeachment managers give the final day of arguments in the Senate trial good afternoon I'm Rebecca chorale case CBS news time twelve thirty one now the latest from CBS news CBS news special report house impeachment managers say there's a toxic mess at the White House and it's up to the Senate to fix it lead prosecutor Adam Schiff if you cannot faithfully execute that responsibility if you cannot bring yourself to put your nation's interests ahead of your own it must be impeachable manager Hakeem Jeffries a three hundred and ninety one million dollars in security aide was only released because president trump was caught red handed there's no sign any Republican senators will defect from supporting the president's CBS's Nancy cordis may know why trump confidante tells CBS news that Republican senators have been warned vote against the president and your head will be on a pike the supreme court's been getting an unusually large number of public calls many urging the Chief Justice to ensure a fair trial CBS news special report on Pam Coulter K. CBS news time twelve thirty two it is time now for our daily task of business report today we're joined by Bloomberg anchor Taylor rigs the US is biggest underwriter of IPOs is taking a step to make sure corporate boards are more diverse Taylor what is Goldman Sachs doing yeah you never back at this is actually place for golden can make some real change usually when we think of Goldman Sachs we think they're only going to do something if they can benefit this is actually more than that said there were at the top under writer in the U. S. last year my underwriter I mean they help take a company from being private to be in public they've been in the top three in the last decade this really is an area where they can make some change so we spoke to wanted the executives over there David Solomon one of the new Leon minted CEOs and he said you know what this is a place and an area where we can really increase diversity so if you have an all white straight male board we are not going to underwrite and help take you public so this is again a place where they can really create some movers and shakers here interestingly enough just to give you some current statistics more of the bigger companies have done a better job of creating more diverse both within gender and ethnicity but it really is the smaller companies and I'm out here in San Francisco the small tech come these have done a horrible job of creating Diversey on their boards and so finally it seems like we're getting to a point where even the bankers never saying if you won't do it we're going to push you to do it this is just apply to US companies so this is a very good question for now Goldman Sachs said that they're going to start July first both in the US and in Europe that you have to have at least one diverse candidate on your board and they will take you public if that remains one area where they've gotten a little bit of criticism is this is not going to extend over in Asia and as we know Asia and has had a much harder time getting taking on a diverse city I give in some of the gender and cultures over there are much more difficult to tackle and so Goldman has said that right now creating diverse in helping push corporations to have diverse boards is not something that they can do if they're really going to focus on the US and Europe but of course the hope is that eventually they expand this role in Asia as well what if the this opens the company up to legal challenge you know I don't think so that's you know we're hearing that that you pretty much this isn't something that you can see well for you know you had a corporation as you know we work is something that we've talked a lot about and they tried to come to market last year and part of their corporate governance concerns were the reason why they were not able to go public they had an all white male board in till the very end until someone raised a red flag only then did they appoint one female candidates and so I think the climate is right now that this has to be accepted and you have to do it and from a regulation perspective California now we'll find you a hundred thousand dollars if you do not have a female on your board all right thanks for talking to us Bloomberg anchor Taylor rigs you can hear our tech and business report weekdays at twelve thirty AM KCBS for more tuned into Bloomberg TV at two PM struck thirty six a KCBS we are too but it's from another traffic update and your chance to win some money at sprint we know how much you depend on your phone when you've got a cracked screen it's the worst we get it and we want to help you it doesn't matter if you have Verizon eighteen T. or T. mobile just drop by sprint repair store and we will fix your eligible entrant cracked screen for just forty nine dollars seriously you don't even need to switch.

D. that works dot com okay I think I can I can I sum this up what I think happened with those listening guy buys a car unbeknownst to him and the dealer it had a previously in Sri possessed the lender for gave the loan saying look we're all victims here sharpest rides is not so quick to give back the five grand deposit because they feel they have already given him a lot of money when they paid off that trade he traded in which was negative equity of about nine grand and the entire deal was undone as far as the credit union or whoever the lender was I think when they got to feel the vehicle back in our in our money jump a little ahead here let's say everything was taken care of with that lean down they can resell it I am convinced that they can't re do the deal because his credit will not support him buying another vehicle right now okay because he just went through and are you saying that's because of it so he could claim damages from that even though they paid off the trade and stop it he he's damage that's a true damage if I'm correct but why don't they just do the deal again on house money if you well there's gotta be a way to get this guy okay what's going on clan I got I got hold sharper strides Kevin's out of town on vacation and the general manager rob will be in tomorrow I'm not talk to him he'll come on tomorrow at noon so it Johnny back on will have in both John Fullerton for laws are personal injury attorney our expert and he's here just say Heine chimes in on all issues are just just to chime in do you have any observations on this what do you think in that that it all comes down to well I mean it's it's an unfortunate situation and and if you keep peeling back the layers of the onion and it just gets it gets uglier and uglier at every layer you know I don't know when we're we're speculating about the impact to his credit whether he could buy another car and all this stuff I mean I I would like to know a lot more information really be able to unravel this thing I'd like to know what really was the lean on the car they got repossessed what sharper rides you know clearly negotiator paid off that lead to get that car back the loan was undone Johnny's car was paid off there was some negative equity there even Johnny admitted that significant negative equity but he put down five grand to it wasn't that significant at the end of the day all that tells me is that you know sharpest rides clearly had more than five grand in profit in the deal so there's still there's still an opportunity that this deal could get put together not knowing Johnny's credit you know it's hard to say whether to viable option John fuller in in personal injury work you have the pain and suffering and the economic damages and all that stuff that goes into a claim and then you have property damage which is the car okay it basically in most of your cases right the car is separate from the other damages in those cases though have you seen when people more than it's worth are the is the other this is what you know how in personal injury if you meet someone who's unfortunate feeble and weak and you damage them more you can't use as a defense they were weak anyway because the law says you take your victims as you find them right is that the same with with damages for example if his car if he owed a twenty grand and the car's worth ten without other party could he forced them to could he try to go after the full twenty no absolutely not and and the reason why is only entitled to the actual cash value of the property that they lost okay so we we deal with that all the time right there all the time somebody has a paid off vehicle that they don't have to you know it's just that fits in their lifestyle and all of a sudden they've got to buy a new car they have payments and ex right into our instant tires and all this crazy stuff no they're not entitled to a free and clear paid off car they're entitled to what the value of the vehicle they had at the moment that the crash occurred that's a hard concept for people to swallow isn't it is well wait a minute I owed fifteen thousand on this car and they destroyed it so now I only get six thousand yeah right yeah I mean it's hard to avoid if you over a hundred on it would it be fair you know one of the reasons it's hard is because for whatever reason homeowners insurance is different they give you a replacement card that's right why is that I mean it's so different it is because you buy it as such it right it started out that way as a competitive thing will give your replacement value than the other one says yeah we will too in fact we'll give you you know it it was it was competition and now they're going back slowly to a see the actual cash value but even some car carriers were doing that I think liberty for a while was saying we replace your car with one that's one or two years younger I'll be out at the time so it's just a matter of selling what they're selling you know now impact traffic.

"C. B. S. sports radio all right we are in the final hour on this Saturday afternoon all of my truckers across the country thank you for tuning in and listing in as you do each and every Saturday here on the ground show on CBS sports radio for for people who want almost an hour to an out of body Twitter experience fall at J. Berman right now on Twitter and Monongah food travel a lot of their Friday and he is having like a Twitter day for crying out loud I don't know what's going on with Berman he just sent me something about a spring terror in and what is going on with this man for crying out loud can't handle having a day off I think that's all right I think that's what it is you know if you want to come back in here and right it does it seems that way maybe he's Buggin further you know I on college football or something like that wants to eight straight hours straight to Jay Berman straight takes baby I love Jay Berman I like the women that him and morass in two peas in a pod except Jay is in shape whereas looks like a mustard packet with the head on it for crying out loud they're the instigators of CBS sports or the like the goons they're like the fourth line come on to get things going yeah but I don't see them you know I don't see him clap in a tiki into your name or anything like that like really why are they jump in after you and Furthermore what they going after me I'm the one who's unafraid to get fired anywhere I've ever worked like I'm the acid tongued guy like why would you I'm Jim start to my balls not a great idea and for me I don't I'm very strangely very like tear face to face and very not liked digitally which is a strange thing well you know I think that's the digital world to know what I mean what I might be might be a little bit of everybody yeah I think there's definitely a little bit of that and I think the thing for me I'm like with me I was a real I think people in the business is welcoming and think this guy's a wild card and is capable of doing anything so maybe we should just tread lightly you're not deal with them at all which there's a part of me that they they completely respect that soon as I'm done here I. among plugging going home and we have friends over and we're doing a big lobster bag like so for me it's like all right boss my balls and by six thirty I'm gonna be Slammin down some shall sitting beside my pull the cigar because there's a part of me that just doesn't care but I'll white J. in morass that's the thing is yeah they're good peeps out being the hero of the times I've been down there I mean I took brass to lunch once I'm still paying for it I don't wanna in school I go on an installment plan to take that guide a chipotle or whatever but good grades they're good people with good people here at CBS sports radio it's good to be able to boss chops a little bit.

"C. B. S. eight eighty one nothing met lead at the time the floor with some moral stand out defense certainly right thanks for all right into the net and I'm I was telling Jerry earlier before the show remember a few years ago for the Yankees the kid Dustin fell or that came up making his major league debut that night yeah he's in Chicago ran right into the wall there in that same exact area in Chicago out the netting without the netting dry and tore up his knee ruptured his patellar tendon and you know who's a sliver played every enclosure that's why last night watch or yesterday watching McNeil do that the first time we've ever seen that that's right because they extended the netting all the way down the line there in Chicago and was met actually used it to his benefit flying squirrels very bright some strong defense from him there Robinson Cano homered and drove in a pair Zack Wheeler seven innings of four hit ball no walk seven strikeouts discount Cano because I know people will say well we're almost got hit too but it is a home run early it's one nothing center saying you know at some point somebody else has to do get a score some runs are gonna win this game one up and I guess the code of and he came up with a big hit late in the game at a double to give it yeah he Rick that too he is also you know you know you had second and third one out they can get the run in because Alonso hits and they get to run I don't know what it is it's good to see that he actually came through a couple of times you know what it is they they've won seven in a row so they look different yeah it just looks they look good well I mean the winning helps you know with those games they played in San Francisco they lost those games in extra innings I always say give me an extra inning game a tie game I just all my team get blown out least have a chance to win these games are there in everyone of the games but now that they've won seven in a row everybody looks different now also the P. Alonzo is not hitting well but he's also getting walk to town he still he still getting on base he still being productive it always it always ask you during the off to off errors is like you think would you give Alonzo a day off and I'm like now I don't think so I think I wanna make a line up because you know every time he's there there's a potential for a home run yeah so I I you want to be in there and you know without Tom Smith here giving him a blow is probably not a good idea and they gave him one a few days after the home run derby when he was struggling coming out of that all star break so he's he's going through a slump and it's it's it if there's a good time to go through a slump is when your team is one and seven in a row where it's not as it's not as evident down if they if he could just get a cone them yeah sure so it ends up before nothing shut out of Chicago seven straight when the creeping back towards five hundred for making callow adversely.
