"The issue in this game was there were no big plays, but also there were no like I mean, if you, if Patrick Mahomes puts the ball on someone's hands, they have to catch it. Like you had two Byron Pringle drops, he had to Travis. Kelsey drop, he had tyreek hill, dropped two on the same drive, the second one became interception. And the whole point is you want to get opponents out of that deep cover to shell, well, they're not going to get out of it if you can't just complete like an 8 yard pass. And so the cheese are almost falling victim to the same thing. You say about generic offense X in the league right now, which is, well, let's make them put together a ten play drive instead of just letting them get the big play here. And basically all it's taking right now is big play prevention because it's just it's sloppy football. It's guys who don't catch the ball. I still don't think it's a fundamentally broken offense, but you know you have to have like a basic level execution and a lot of games this year they haven't had that. And I don't think they had it on Sunday Night either. Yeah, I think that's exactly right, Gary. They're missing the magic, but then they're also missing the really routine stuff. And I think it's normal to see teams go through growing pains or transition period. I mean, we always talk about how the Patriots for them September is like the second month of the preseason and they're still figuring out what works and what their identity is. But then generally they would find it later in the season. And I think that's because if you have to have the ability to do some of these routine things well, you have to have the ability to execute simple plays, bread and butter type plays. And I think that's what's missing for the chiefs and it kind of goes back to a theme that we've been talking about all season is that if you become so good at the magic stuff that the magic stuff feels routine, then do you stop practicing actually the routine stuff and then where does that leave you? And I too, Gary thought they'd come out of the biweek, maybe having worked on that a little bit. These aren't necessarily hard things you're asking them to do. They're just like the routine part of players jobs. And so that does seem like something you could clean up in season. So I don't know. Like we said, all the teams in the AFC have some flaw or another, but we just never expected the chiefs flaw to be their offense. It's still probably where to some degree where a lack of a run game or not a lack of a run game, but lack of an explosive running game is probably coming back to bite them a little bit. I mean, you know, you're gaining three and a half, like four yards of carry, you know, but overall you're not attempting a ton of rushes top ten in yards for a tent but I think that some of the other things that you do with Patrick Mahomes and some of the jet sweep stuff and all that sort of adds into the factors there. But I don't know. I just think that, you know, without that sort of downhill presence, you're probably losing a little bit of the element of surprise on the back end because like Gary said you hang in that defense and you're forcing teams to sort of plot along a little bit. We made those adjustments and we were able to still go out there and have some success back in the land change with the charges that yeah i mean. He's one of the con- player. So whenever you have them out there. I mean he can play the deep safety or literally. Be at the line of scrimmage just as good and. I don't players like that all the time. The first time in five years there on first place in their division. So i'm and deal with all of that. What i'm not going to deal with. Is this nonsense. You're trying to peddle like oh could it be a sign of trouble like could bridgewater or car actually win. The division last night was an aberration. Built on an anomaly. And your all knowing the idea that kansas city should've lost that game is a total of thirty. A guy who had never fumbled in his entire career fumbled the ball. And then baltimore compounded the anomaly by doing something really only baltimore would do and it was the smart play which is go forward on that fourth-down this this i am not to allow you to jackals to try to bully me into being concerned about the chiefs when anyone and everyone watching that game thumb. "I think that's when you get injured and chad handy had to come in and won the game for them and that was incredible to see that he ran for that third and fifteen. Got it down to you. Know the You know fourth down in one or fourth in two and then they were able to convert on that past tyreek hill when he rolled out and they got the first down and that was an incredible game. It was unfortunate for the browns because they really had a great season and the fact that it came down to that and they were not able to get the ball back and possibly win the game because they were climbing back into the game when mahomes got hurt and it looked like they were going to win that game and possibly play the bills in the afc championship but that was not the case. And we'll see what happens this year but going into this game. You're going to have a healthy. Patrick mahomes healthy travis. Kelsey tyreek hill. Those guys going up against the browns. I think this is a favorable matchup. Here for the chiefs. I think the browns defense. I've talked about it a lot. I think they're going to be an improved unit. But i do think because it's an arrowhead and it's the chiefs. I do think it's going to be tough for the brown. So i think that has a good game here throws for three hundred yards. It's maybe two to three touchdowns kelsey has a good game. Tyreek hill is a good game. And let's see what edwards hilar- does because he is going to be the number one back for the chiefs and you know he. He did suffer an injury against the cardinals and the preseason game but he is on track to start week. One for the chief. So that's gonna be interesting. I think he's going to have a tough time running the ball against the browns. I do like their defensive front now. Adding clowney to the fold. I do think it's going to be tough for the chiefs to run the ball and it doesn't really matter because they're gonna air it out and tyree kills going to have a good game out of that and i'm looking to see what damarcus robinson and mccall hartman do byron pringle. He's basically going to be the fourth wide receiver. So you know the chiefs the law. Sammy watkins in the off season. So demarcus robinson hardman are gonna have to step up and this has to be harman's breakout year. Because he really hasn't. I mean he's been good for them. He's been a solid player but he hasn't really lived up to the potential that he can live up to and he was going to be tari kills replacement. When tyreek hill had off the field stuff going on and now tyreek hill is backs. You have him an michael hartmann. So you know we'll see what happens. But i think overall the chiefs offense does well. You should feel confident going into this game. And then on the other side. I mean you got the chiefs defense. Going up against the browns. I do think that you know the chiefs will make some plays in this game. But i think the browns are going to be able to run the football. I think baker has a solid game. So maybe you look for other options if you do have the You do have the chiefs defense. Maybe look for other options. But overall i would say that is a positive match-up for the chiefs so moving onto the next match of week two. They go to baltimore to take on the ravens. They played the ravens last year. Baltimore and they basically dominated the entire game. Baltimore did make a close towards the end so the score was closer than it actually was but the chiefs dominated that game and they really have you know had the ravens number of the past couple of seasons last year. There was no crowd now. There is going to be a crowd in this game and sunday. Night football game. I'm really looking forward to this game. Maybe this is the game that lamar finally gets a win versus mahomes. It's gonna be a tough match for the cheese. I don't expect them to go off in this game like they did last year. I think the ravens. This is the game that the ravens finally. I don't wanna see win. But they finally like keep a close and they have a chance to win. I think the chiefs will still win this game. But i think the ravens keep disclosed. I don't really expect massive numbers from the chiefs in this game because mahomes clinic last year against the ravens. So i'm going to say that this is kind of in the middle of the road on favorable match for the chiefs though. I do expect you to of course star kelsey hill and mahomes every single week. Just because of that. You know you're still going to. It doesn't matter you're still going to start those guys but i do think edwards hilarious struggles a little bit in this game. I think if you have the chiefs defense. I don't think you could go wrong with starting them. Because they have played well against lamar. They played well against them last year. So i think you could probably do. You could probably start them. But i probably look for other options. Just because of you know l'amour having to run the football you know and then the other thing is this though the chiefs you know they go up like fourteen and nothing. It's going to pretty much play out how it always has. Lamar is going to have to stop running the football. And he's gonna have to start throwing it because you know the chiefs are just gonna keep running up and down the field. If that's how that game's going to be played and lamar's passing ability is still in question so that could be favorable for the chiefs defense. But i would probably still stay away from them just because i think this game is going to play out differently than the past couple once. I'm gonna say this in the middle of the road. A little bit unfavorable. But of course you're still going to start the big three But head solaire. Maybe you probably you know possibly said maybe start at your flex or something like that. If you have another running back on your team that has more favorable matchup but Yeah that's my thoughts on that game so moving onto next match on the chiefs schedule they take on the chargers and we only got to see one. Herbert versus mahomes match up. And that was herbert's first. Start in the nfl. That was back in week two of last year..

Answer is no To marcus robinson is a different cat. And that's both why he successful and why he so unbelievably frustrating for this team. But he's guaranteed a roster spot. I mean he's he's no he's jj he's jr. smith he does. He does whatever he wants. Because the brought once. Lebron lebron there. Jr feels you. Know what i ca. Jack up eighteen shot if i want to cause hail the king with as long as i keep him happy. It love loving me. I'm good. I know he's a he's a good blocking wide receiver. Yes you mean to tell me. "I'll how picks up right where sammy watkins left off And i want to reiterate. I continue to think that michael hartmann is not an exact fit for sammy watkins x. type of position. I think they ideally want a bigger receiver there. We know what to marcus. Robinson is no offense to the fourth rounder. I think the chiefs have gotten the absolute most out of the marcus. Robinson talks about ceilings. I think the ceiling is super high for cornell pow and when it comes to byron pringle. We don't even really know with his ceiling. Is all we know when it comes to byron pringle as that when he's on the field when he gets a target when he has the ball in his hands he's been successful it's been a plus for the chiefs. Can he take that next step. Now that he's we think going to be getting the opportunities with sammy watkins out of the picture during training camp. Sammy watkins usually was healthy during training camp. So he was taking. A lot of the rap is a baltimore. Raven is completely gone now so now it is finally going to be that true wide open. Competition can byron pringle. Or i think darkhorse in cornell pal or if you wanna go dark horse at antonio calloway take advantage and make a case. Okay i'm going to be that fourth target for you again. The targets go kelsey and hill. Something clyde edwards allaire. Then this position for me who is going to be getting those targets when it comes to your fourth option on this offense even darker horse Jody fortson or joe fortson. How whatever you wanna call him award fortunate the other guy. We're gonna be this year. Well i'd love to see that. Obviously we'd all love to see that because we saw What having that kind of a threat in sammy watkins available did for the chiefs offense that i it was. It was more effective when you had that additional threat on the field. So i think that that's something that everybody would like to see. The question is going to be. Who's it going to be. And i think you're exactly right. That pringle is a guy who could has the physical traits to to fill that role that watkins had and he's shown that he's capable of making plays when he's given the opportunities and powell of course You know was fantastic In the end of last season in the end of the twenty twenty season. I'm not going to be able to stay on the field but you can sign me. And then i've seen i don't know about you sort of it. I've seen many people. We are we serious about this guy who is been a bust right now in nicole hairy it with the patriots now granted. Some of that quarterback play in year. Two that he faced last last year with cam and brian. Hoyer isn't really the great thing to help you out with. But a guy who's been a bust eighty-six targets in the last two years since he's been in the league. And then josh gordon who who who just cannot stay on the field and hell. I don't even know how good he is anymore. Right now he. I mean he hasn't even played long enough to even know how good it's been a long time. Eight nine years since he led the nfl in receiving yards. I we are not in this desperation mode that it feels like every week. Please tell me why the chiefs need to go. Take a look at these two guys. Please sell me on this garbage certa all that you try to sell us on going out there and getting one of these guys josh. Gordon's your dude. Well yes. I love. Josh gordon He had a couple of catches with the patriots a couple years ago. He still got it all right. He had a catch with russell couple years ago in like week. I'm interested in taking a look at him because it doesn't cost you anything to bring him into camp in just cut him if he can't keep it together if you think yes. He's just not good at football anymore. He's out of shape. He's had just hasn't had the reps over the last several years to maintain the level of athleticism and play that you need to succeed in the modern day. Nfl but if we're talking about we want another camp body and we want to bring in another wide receiver and see what happens. I'd be very interested in bringing in josh gordon. Especially over nikial harry. I understand the kill. Harry is only twenty four years old but he is just not looked like a competent. Nfl wide receiver. The patriots haven't done a lot to help him out but he hasn't been very good in the. Nfl doesn't create separation in any way not interested. I wasn't really that interested in him as a prospect. I am on the josh. Gordon train because i wanna see as many weapons as possible with patrick mahomes. Maybe we believe fifth round wide receiver. Cornell pal is the answer or mccoll's finally going to take a huge step forward on the outside which is out of position for him. But i'd like to see. I'd like to go to training camp and see josh gordon practicing with the chiefs and see what that looks like. Yeah i'm out on josh gordon of you should be i one jock. Laurie hawkins seed. And i hope he latches on somewhere in his super successful. It has nothing but the best moving forward. I just don't think that's going to be chiefs. The chiefs have a bunch of lottery tickets and at this point in his career makes me sad to say this. But that's what josh gordon is. Mikhael harry stinks. Like he's just a bad football player. So there's no reason for the chiefs to be interested in him if the chiefs are gonna go free agency route again. I don't think this guy significantly improves you. From what you already have. But the only guy. That's available that i would be interested in is dede westbrook again. I don't think that's any sort of significant upgrade. He's basically until we antonio. Calloway and you have antonio calloway already on your roster so i think what they have right now is probably barring some sort of trade or a surprise cut after camp what they're going to have going into the season and that is a little bit concerning because what you're looking at right now as tyreek hill which is great but then mccoll hardman damarcus robinson cornell powell byron pringle and then probably one of marcus camp garrick deeter antonio calloway or daria shepherd. One of those guys probably going to be the final roster spot where the wide receivers that just doesn't inspire a ton of confidence from me. The only guy that i feel good about his tyreek hill and then everybody else is a massive question mark in when i read earlier. This week from nate taylor of the athletes and i quote from the voluntary wait workouts in the teams mandatory minicamp mccoll hardman appears to be in position to have a breakout season as he is expected to have the role previously held by sammy watkins. That's terrifying for me. I i don't think he's a guy that profiles to play in that role sammy. Watkins was a prototypical x. Wide receiver where he can line up. On the line of scrimmage and beat man press coverage that is the opposite of what mccall hardman profiles as in fact the only guy on the team. Maybe you got two of them. That can do that. I think is cornell powell and byron pringle and i don't think those guys are starting level wide receivers at least not right now so i. I don't think they have that guy on the roster today. Listen i. I think as upset before that is something that is being overblown using the words terrified a mike that that feels a pitch strong. That feels a bit strong to use. Sorta josh gordon. And i i hope he hooks up with chip and joanna gaines down in waco. And maybe they can you know do some kind of work with him. Maybe he can help build some houses and work at magnolia farms.
