Are Ordinals Sneakily a Boon to Bitcoin Security?
"All right friends well today on long read Sunday we are playing buzz word bingo. Yes, we are talking ordinals. We are talking Bitcoin NFTs. We are talking AI. And at the end of it, I guess it will be on you to decide whether it's buzzword bingo or in fact, bull bingo. Where we're going to start is a piece on ordinal inscriptions by George colludes from coin desk, and it's called how Bitcoin NFTs might accidentally fix Bitcoin security budget. George Wright's Casey rotamer tweeted that inscriptions are finally ready for Bitcoin mainnet on January 20th and the use of inscriptions the last two weeks sparked a big hullabaloo on Twitter between some of Bitcoin's partisan factions. The hullabaloo included a number of different claims. One that Bitcoin security budget problem was accidentally solved. So we wouldn't have to worry that there would be no financial incentive to mine Bitcoin in the future once the fixed supply runs out. Maybe transaction fees would be enough to incentivize miners. Two inscriptions would lead to blockchain spam and graffiti so uncontrollable that we are eventually engulfed by grey goo. Three, all these non fungible tokens or NFTs and such on Bitcoin is just another silly fad like colored coins. Rotamers Flint rock tweet referred to the ordinal protocol, which introduced inscriptions to Bitcoin. The ordinal protocol assigns each satoshi or sat, the smallest unit of Bitcoin, a sequential number. It's a little bit more complicated than that, but only a little. Once these sats are numbered and identified, users can inscribe the sat with arbitrary data, as long as the transaction doesn't exceed the four megabyte block size limit. That arbitrary data can be anything. A fully playable version of the first person shooter doom? Sure. A picture of a board ape cross pollinated with a crypto punk? Fine. A bald sunglasses donning taproot wizard recreation of the famous MS paint spawned magic Internet money wizard that once served as an advertisement for the R slash Bitcoin subreddit that takes up almost the entirety of the Bitcoin block. "Go for a moonwalk. Knowing Americans were awake and gathered around their televisions, buzz and Neil, opted to make history in prime time. While Americans were watching back on earth and waiting for the dramatic moment to unfold, there was a painfully slow, choreographed dance of dress up going on inside that no one could see. Hidden inside the lunar lander, the men spent an anticlimactic three hours getting dressed in their special gear and revolutionary moon suits. Despite the cramped quarters, the pair was comfortable enough with each other to finally take off their CW gs and change into a different kind of underwear. Liquid cooled long Johns. These weren't too different from long underwear we wear down on earth, but the space versions had some additions to keep the body temperature low while they were working in heavy suits, and an extreme environment. Small tubes were sewn into the fabric, connecting key points all over the body. And inside these tubes, water was constantly cycled around the underwear. The water worked as a conductor to help keep body temperature cool by absorbing body heat. As the water passed through the special device in the suit, it was re cooled before heading back out through the tubes to do it all again. This wasn't the only kind of tube in the suit though. There was also a P tube. Stop and think about it for a second. Whatever your mind conjures up is probably pretty close to the actual thing. It was a practical solution to a real problem. Where does the P go when nature calls? Thanks to this device when an astronaut let loose, the P would travel through the tube into a collection bag. The bag would be removed and simply left in space. Just as before, every ounce of weight was going to count for the return journey, besides no one wanted it back on earth. It was a great design, but unfortunately, buzz encountered a problem. The landing of the lunar module had gone smoothly, but there were unforeseen complications with the latter that they lowered to the desolate moonscape. EarthBound viewers might not have noticed, but on his descent, Neil was surprised to discover that the last rung of the latter was still three feet from the lunar surface. This was unexpected, but it didn't stop him. After a brief pause, he jumped down and soon spoke his famous words about small steps and giant leaps. Those first moments on the moon were an incredible culmination of decades of work, sacrifice, and science. President Kennedy would have been very proud. Not far behind, buzz made his way down the ladder to make a little history of his own. Neil warned him that the last step was a doozy, but but still stretched a bit too far as he put his foot down. Eager to become only the second moonwalker. The stretch resulted in a small tear. Fortunately, the tear was inside the spacesuit and not out because, remember, that's how you get floating space mummies. Unfortunately, it was the urine containment bag that buzz had torn. Buzz had a lot on his mind when nature inevitably came calling. He probably didn't even think about those millions of eyes watching. When he let loose. It's not as if they could have known anyway, the big suit did offer plenty of privacy. So, with the world watching, he secretly peed the first pee on the moon. "Lot of time. To put it mildly, getting to the moon is a difficult task. There were rockets to build, vast calculations to compute, programs to write, astronauts, to train, simulations to undergo and underwear to design. Luckily, the goal was clear. Walk on the moon. Everything else would just be details to work out along the way. Spoiler alert, NASA would get people to the moon. But president Kennedy would not live to witness the interstellar success. His assassination in 1963 left him 6 years short of seeing the dream come true. But even in his wildest dreams he probably never imagined another first that they would accomplish. If he had, he might have rephrased his prediction from we will put a man on the moon. To something more like we will put a man on the moon and he will be the first to pee there. Buzz Aldrin was no stranger to flying, or peeing for that matter. His dad flew planes during World War I and taught aviation for the United States Army. So when buzz joined the air force in 1947, he was practically joining the family business. He stood out amongst his fellow students, soldiers and pilots with his aerodynamic understanding and airborne abilities. He was also really smart, and great under pressure. These last two were excellent qualities for people to have when auditioning for the new job of astronaut. Also high on the list of ideal traits for would be astronauts was being able to not puke their guts out while zooming around at 24,000 mph. Buzz was perfect for the job. For the record, buzz was not his given name. His real name is Edwin. As the story goes, one of his younger siblings couldn't pronounce brother correctly. And instead, he referred to Edwin as buzzer. A family got so used to it that the name kind of stuck. Buzzer became buzz, and buzz became an astronaut. Like the rest of America, he eagerly watched as NASA slowly made their way towards the moon. It was baby steps up first. With each of many different missions, new skills were gained an important new information was learned. The first batch of missions was known as project mercury. The goal for these missions was to get American astronauts to space, orbit around the earth, and live to tell the tale. The mercury program helped scientists envision the technology that it would take to eventually get to the moon. As well as to understand the effects space has on the human body. At the next stage, known as project Gemini, NASA learned and perfected intricate maneuvers and tasks while pushing the limits of their EarthBound engineers and airborne astronauts. Gemini missions lasted longer to help understand how a body would react to remaining in space for weeks at a time. Then, in 1965, the Gemini four mission saw the first Americans leave a spacecraft to make a spacewalk. It was a huge moment. Of course, Russian cosmonauts beat them to it by floating into the great, unknown, a full two months before. Undeterred by the string of second place finishes, NASA kept their eyes on the moon prize. All the other missions had laid the groundwork for the Apollo program, which had the ultimate goal of landing, walking, and maybe even peeing on the surface of the moon. By the time they were ready for the moon mission with the now historic Apollo 11 launch, Buzz Aldrin had earned a seat and was eager for his big moment. Three men would head to space for the mission, but only two would make it to the moon. It was determined that astronaut Michael Collins would need to remain with the main space shuttle. That meant buzz would be in the lunar module sharing the cramped space of the secondary vehicle with Neil Armstrong, as it detached from the main shuttle and landed on the moon's surface. Every single detail of the mission had to be perfect. NASA doesn't like surprises. A surprise in space means a dead person in space, and the dead person in space means a mummy in space. See, there's no oxygen out there, which is what a body needs to decompose. So with no oxygen or gravity, well, that's how you get floating space mummies. Buzz and Neil were hoping to stay very much alive and non mummified. One huge detail in the no mummy moon master plan was. What? They would wear. You can't survive space in your jeans. Bad stuff would happen, which is why astronauts wear spacesuits instead. Astronauts enclose themselves in these uncomfortable shell like outfits to create a safe atmosphere for their bodies. The suits are pressurized, rigid, and fed with oxygen to breathe. After one of the previous Apollo missions caught fire and killed three men on board, NASA had to take their clothing material choices very seriously. Scientific advancements didn't just extend to rockets and radars. In the 1960s, there were all sorts of new man-made fabrics that would give future flyers a fair shot at being fire resistant. But sometimes safety and comfort don't mix. Especially when it comes to underwear. Amazing new space age fabrics were used for nearly everything. But the spacemen got grumpy when they found the new materials pressed against their sensitive space bottoms. Nothing at the time felt as good and allowed the body to breathe and perspire as well as good old fashioned butt flammable cotton. So despite it being a potential fire hazard, buzz and the guys were cotton underwear. They wore those cotton undies all the time. In fact, they wore them so often that the underwear coveralls were officially called The CW G or constant wear garment. It took the man 76 hours to make the 240,000 mile journey to the moon. While they sped their way to their lunar destination, the three men didn't have much to do other than hang out in the same underwear that they had shimmied into back on launch day. There was no way to freshen up their wardrobe. Ease of motion was not the biggest consideration when it came to designing the first moon bound spacecraft. So even if a costume change had been easy, the men had few options. Every ounce of weight mattered, so they didn't bring much else to wear. Obviously, there was no washing machine aboard either. To say the least, the Apollo astronauts had to get very, very comfortable with each other, and their CW G's. When Neil and buzz left their pal, Michael Collins and the space shuttle to land the even more cramped and less cozy. Lunar module on the moon's surface, they would finally be able to switch out of their three day old undies for more technologically advanced underwear. Meanwhile, through another leap of incredible science, millions of TVs back on earth tuned in for the once in a lifetime broadcast of the big event. In the 19 50s and 1960s, America and the Soviet Union were locked in a heated battle for interstellar dominance, known as the space race. Scientists and astronauts, or cosmonauts as they were known in Russia, worked around the clock to get a leg up on each other by getting anything and everything up into orbit. By the tail end of the 1960s, Neil Armstrong would make history with the ultimate accomplishment. But his full bladder buddy Buzz Aldrin made history in a very different way. Space age undies helped carry these men to wear no man had gone before. Once there, buzz really went. Where no man had gone before. If you know what I mean. Before Aldrin's universal urination, the space race was pretty lopsided. The Soviets were always getting their leg up higher and higher with a constant string of successes and firsts. In 1957, the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, the first satellite. They quickly followed the success of Sputnik by sending the first dog leica to space. America was still struggling to get a satellite of their own into orbit by the time the Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin floated by from outer space. Being the first human to gaze upon earth from a perch in the cosmos was a clear win. And the cosmonaut certainly had a chance to stick out his tongue as he floated past the American continent on his single pass around the planet. If he had, it would have been another first, a flyby mocking from space. Now there's no proof that Yuri's tongue taunt actually happened. But if the race was a contest of each nation's outer space successes, it's safe to say America was getting whipped harder than butter and a churn. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy wasn't ready to let the Soviet Union spread the United States space program on toast and eat it for breakfast. He made up old prediction. America would skip right to the biggest, hardest, most seemingly impossible gold. They'd put a man on the moon before the 1960s drew to a close. Considering he made this giant leap of a claim in

Hey, quickly before we get a break, a little bit of sad news here, really heartbreaking news. Britney Spears has shared that she suffered a miscarriage. She said it's a devastating time for any parent. Her and her fiance Sam have revealed this on Instagram saying they had an early loss in the pregnancy, perhaps we should have waited to announce it until a little further along, she said, however, we were overly excited to share the good news. I'm told they're really, really leaning on one another. It honestly, as a parent, you don't realize it until you're in the situation of possibly becoming a parent that you literally wanna tell everyone down to the milkman, you know, and everyone in the middle that you are bringing a child into this world and a thing that you and I are probably will never feel or understand is the magnitude of what Britney Spears has gone through in her entire life, but just as the superstar that she is, that she finally has an opportunity to tell some great news and the argument is when is the right time. There is no right time. If you feel good and it comes down to someone like someone who is carrying a child, if she feels okay. That's.

"Moron the aggies quest for the NIT tomorrow night on SEC now. And this time tomorrow, coach buzz Williams will be pulling into the garden getting ready for the championship of the NIT. He joins us now. Coach, congratulations. It's been quite a quite a lot has happened since we last saw you down in Tampa. Good afternoon and how are you? It's good to see you. I'm doing great. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to be with you again. Well, let's talk about this experience and what it has meant to your young players and your program. Paul, we're one of the younger teams in the country, I think we were 277 as far as one of the youngest teams with even less minutes played together and so that was easy to see early on during the season, I think the experience over the last three weeks, it's hard to quantify. Obviously it's been a lot of fun and we've had experiences that you can only get in postseason, but for our guys to be able to have these reps of practice of playing with this level of exposure with what's at stake, obviously the games, the practices, the film session. I think all of those things there will be residual value going forward. So we're very thankful for that. I know, I know it's easy to talk about the experience in New York, I'm assuming some of your players, maybe very few had ever been there. What has that been like just a cultural aspect of being at the epicenter of really the whole world? We have one player on our team from queens, who's a sophomore in college, and this has been very gratifying for him to be able to come home and play in front of his family and friends. We traveled on Sunday, obviously we played last night, and I wanted our guys to, just like you said, I wanted them to get some New York pizza, I wanted them to see a Broadway show, even though they probably would have chosen to spend their time in a different way. Monday was a full work day in regards to practice and preparing for last night's game. And then to be able to be off today, not playing a game yet preparing for another game. It's been great. And I think that just to be able to be around New York, be able to see Broadway, be able to play at the garden, go to The Lion King on Sunday, Sunday evening, all of those things I think are things that for the most part, not even just our players, but even our staff have never had an opportunity to do. So it's been really cool to be able to do it together. Talking to coach buzz Williams. Coach, I don't want to go too far back, but there was a tremendous amount of conversation about number one, a and M and not getting in and second, and maybe even more important. Your reaction, a lot of praise for you from your fellow coaches and the SEC and your fans. And there's always those pockets of criticism. But as you reflect back, you feel comfortable in your very public and emotional expression of not getting in the tournament and why? Yeah, you know, Paul, I think that I saw you for the second time in Tampa on that Friday afternoon, obviously we had just won. We played again on Saturday and one and then played in the championship game on Sunday. Probably foolish of me to think that what we were doing that particular week was going to have the weight that I thought that it would. In sincerity, I thought it was because of who we were playing. And so we played on Sunday, went back to the hotel, showered, put all of our stuff on the bus and then watched the selection show from the hotel Sunday evening. And I've been a head coach for 15 years. I think I've been to the NCAA tournament 8 times, obviously the COVID year they didn't have it. I've never had a selection show in your name not been called. And when the last bracket came up and we weren't invited in truth, Paul, I didn't know what to say. So I just said, hey guys, get on the bus. And so we got on the bus. We went to the airport. We flew home. We got on the bus. We went back to the facility. And you could have heard a pin drop the entire 5 and a half hours of travel. And from the time I got home Sunday at midnight, until Tuesday at 3 o'clock. I just wanted to be as objective as possible. And studying why did this not happen? And I understand because of my 28 years in college, I know there's a lot of things that are unseen and I understand that I'm not everybody's favorite person, but the one thing that I wanted to do was just try to learn from it so that I could explain to our kids. And most importantly, I could explain to their families. Because in the very end, regardless of public outcry or others not invested in our program, at the end of the day, as a leader, I have to be committed to my words, prior to their arrival and to the investment that I've made in their lives. And they look to me to have an answer and I didn't have an answer. And so I spent whatever amount of time it was trying to figure it out. Not because of what Twitter would say, not because of the people that call your show, not because of the fans that other SEC institutions know I'm trying to figure it out for our guys. I'm trying to figure it out for their parents. We didn't get in and as stoically as I could. I wasn't trying to make it about me. I wasn't trying to say, look at this team, why didn't we get in versus that team? No, I was just talking about what we had done. And I've learned a lot from that. I think our kids learned a lot from that. At the end of the day, Paul, I wanted to do what was right by our program and the people that are in our program. And at some point, there will be another coach at Texas a and M and there'll be a lot of other players sometimes in the beginning. But while I'm here, I want everybody to know that who is in the program, I'm going to stand up for and fight for. And so obviously that was almost three weeks ago now and so many things have transpired and we can't console that we weren't in, but we can learn on how we can be better and what we can do and everybody talks about the last the 8 games we lost. I didn't know that if you lost them together, that mattered. I didn't know if you won ten out of 12 to close the regular season that that didn't matter. That's for other people to say it was just for me to learn from. And so we're not trying to win NIT, so we can prove the committee wrong. Our players don't even know there's a committee. They don't even know who's on the committee. We're trying to win because we want to continue to be together to play together to be the best we can be. And so we're thankful that we're still playing. Well, coach, I know how much this experience has meant to you and your program and we wish you all of the best tomorrow night and certainly look forward to seeing and talking to you again very, very soon. Think about how much Will Smith has had to go through over the last two weeks ever since that red table talk of uncoupling of how many times people have just pushed them and in questioned him and poked fun at him and then all of a sudden on probably arguably his biggest night where he wins an award, you're going to you're just going to chop them off at the knees because at the end of the day, no one's going to look at Jada, they're going to look at will. They're going to say, oh, look at will, you know? Well did bring all this up himself when you talk about Robin Roberts. She was promoting his book. But he talks constantly about his relationship with Jada on the red table that's his wife show. Okay. And so the two of them sat there and talked about their relationship for the ratings and they were allowed to say things to one another. My point of view though is and I do understand what you're saying is that we should be kinder to one another but you can't have a show about kindness and respect and love in for each other and then somebody gets up and slaps somebody in the face. He physically hit him. But with that too, you can't sit there and make fun of someone's wife and then say it wasn't a joke about your wife. It was about the movie franchise. It doesn't make sense. He was going after he was making a joke about his wife and he just not a true comedian, like a comedian that was hard in their ways would have said, you know what? Yes, it was a joke about your wife. He didn't. He went, he went the other way, meaning that it was true. It was a joke about his wife, you know? He's a joke about jata and her hair loss. Not funny, and you know, kind of rude, particularly because we know that she has alopecia. She's been very honest about that. But there's a place for physical violence now like now we're allowed to slap people around the face if we don't like what they're saying for me, my head exploded. I was so uncomfortable. I know the crowd has uncomfortable moving forward now. There's conversations about what should happen. Should he lose his Oscar now? No. There are very, very, very strict rules for people that have the Oscar, not many people do. And really these sort of popped up or were reinforced after the Harvey wine scene scandal. So there's rules of conduct here. And one of them is certainly not physical violence. So I reached out to the Oscar people. They have not responded yet. The other question is, there's a lot of questions right. Yeah, I'm trying to get back to my head exploded. The other question that's coming up is could he be arrested? I reached out to the LAPD and spoke to them. They said that they are obviously aware of the incident, but Chris Rock has not filed a complaint and until he does, they will not investigate this, but if he does, they will investigate it and hey, it's all there on video and when you tell the court, you know, he made fun of my wife, so by allowed to attack him, that is not gonna hold up. He physically attacked somebody. That's where I'll argue with you, rob shooter, where in a, with a jury sitting there hearing the story and then obviously hearing the evidence and I think 9 times out of ten, people will side, especially if they have a spouse or a significant other, they're going to stick up for them, you know? I think emotionally you're right here. If somebody made fun of Bruce well, that's what I'm saying. Like, with a group of peers with a jury. You've got to follow the law. Of course you do. And America to punch somebody in the face. You could call me horrible names. You could call Darby, my doggie, you called cold brews. Horrible names. I'm not allowed to punch you. And I like that law. Well, of course, but I can also argue that I was provoked to, you know? You provoked me to punch you. And I hope that you got convicted, Garrett, I really do hear, I hate physical violence as well. I hear you when I was like people slapping each other and I was at a really rough school and it's quite scary and to be watching this particularly a place that claims they're for love and harmony and peace and we've all got to support each other and everybody has rights and then for them to have this happen and everybody pretended to get that part. Everybody pretended that nothing happened apart from Amy Schumer. Everybody just carry on. Did he try to sort of say something but failed a little bit there, but not let's not blame him. It's the night wasn't about him. Do you think you know did he very well from working with him? Do you actually think after the Oscars he sought out will end it Chris Rock at a party or did he knew he could get a photograph out of it which he could have? Did he would have loved nothing more than sitting at the Vanity Fair party with Chris on one side will on the other like he was brokering peace in the Middle East like did he know to press opportunity but knowing diddy I would say he would be nervous. Like that's a huge audience millions and millions of people watching yeah I don't think he would like that to really uncomfortable position what he could do and then you gotta read the room a little bit so you know the room is split early reports today are a lot of celebrities really supported will and so afterwards he won. So what do you do then do you give him a stand in ovation will is part of Hollywood he is loved in Hollywood. Do we stand up and give a man a standing ovation that is just punched somebody slapped somebody else or do we sit down? Do we leave what you're leaving it though? It's like he just attacked him. Chris Rock we say it all the time like he could sit there and take it but it would like you know where the joke was coming from. It was going directly at someone and then to say that there's this fine line of like as a comedian. I'm allowed to say whatever. No, just like in anything in real life you could say whatever, but you also have to stand up for your actions. So he offended the man's wife. You know, I get it. I understand it. I like that we're on different sides next. I think a lot of people are. Some people are really standing up for will today. Tiffany Haddish has put out a statement saying he was defending his wife. It's the most beautiful thing she's ever seen. And a lot of people that were very uncomfortable and not really making statements, they're just sort of disappearing. They don't want to talk about it. I had reporters at the party afterwards will turned up at Vanity Fair, and he was spotted dancing and joking Jada was there. Oh, after the incident, they held hands Garrett for the rest of the night I had reporters watch them so they were holding hands will skipped the press room. So after you win, you normally exit stage left or stage right. And you go straight into the press room, will did not do that. So after he got his Oscar, he then went back into the audience and sat there holding his Oscar in one hand and Jada's hand in the other you know the red table talk is open for business today. It's going to be the biggest episode ever and they will talk about this again his books probably going to spike. I'm not saying he did this for either celebrities love publicity, but they can also be real people and I think this is a real in the moment reaction. So it will be interesting though, so this weekend in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Chris Rock is taking the stage. For so I guess his first show, it's a warmup show because he's going out on tour with Kevin Hart. And it'll be interesting to say, see and.

"The cedrics, I loved Kevin Bacon too. When a Pedro is talking about how uncomfortable she is being famous, so one of the reasons that she's quit acting is she never really enjoyed it. In fact, she's got only one exception to get her back in front of the cameras. That's if her husband who's a big director and a producer. If he asks, she will do it, but otherwise she's not really into it and then she added two that she's never really been that comfortable being a famous person. That sounds crazy to people that are not famous or have never been around fame because I think we all think being famous is the most wonderful thing in the world when I work for some really, really famous people. I got to see the downside of fame and they could never complain about it because it would make them look bratty. If you've got such a great life and money and you're gorgeous, complaining about being famous sounds dumb, but there is a side to it that I've never understood until somebody very famous said to me. Do you ever have a birthday party that you're not really into that a friend throws you a big surprise birthday party and you find yourself in the middle of the room and everybody's coming at you to say happy birthday and you don't really know these people and it's just us overwhelming. That's what B in famous feels like all the time. I think that really hit home for me. There's places I've gone, particularly birthday parties. I'm not a big fan of birthday parties. I don't really even like big parties. If we go out for dinner, I like three or four of us. Maybe even two of us. I don't like ten of us. I like to really connect one on one, not a big crowd. Being famous feels like you're constantly in a big crowd. Isn't that interesting, Garrett? It is. And you know what's funny speaking of birthday parties too? My dad had a birthday last week. So we all did what we normally do now. We all got tested, and then we went to go sing happy birthday. But here's the thing. Someone is sitting on a $1 billion idea just has to be created. So the birthday cake came out and normally we're used to blowing out candles. So we said, no, no, no, no. If you want to share this birthday cake, don't spit on it. You can't blow out the candles. So there has to be something whether it be one of those pocket fans or something that someone can create. Someone that's listening to the show because if you're listening to the show, you're pretty smart. Create something that we could sell. I'm pretty sure it has maybe it is those pocket fans that come with a birthday party. For once a year, she wanted to use it once a year. That's the only floor here. I'm thinking, I'm going to be negative. I don't want to sound like a Mark Cuban. Are you out? Are you saying? Maybe we could sell her one. But we need to have more than one. We just need to sell one. We need to sell one for a very high price point. What's going on with bachelor bat? I love him. All right, now here's an interesting idea. Like when you hear people that are on the bachelorette you just think they're going after the attention of being on camera and the way that they're portrayed on screen is that they're a big part of the year. So mat James says that his dating history is slim to none. And I've never seen him in the streets of New York, but when he was in New York, he said his dating was practically nothing. He was broke. You know, he just came to New York to hustle and not even think about working. That's why he moved to New York, but he said, now that he's a little bit older, you know, he's willing to do things to make sacrifices for love that he wasn't willing to do before, but you gotta think like, wow, now I guess the sacrifice is I'm willing to go on TV and put it in front of everybody, but I didn't want to date when it was just me and someone else. So it's weird. It's almost like two different what do you think about people that have not dated a lot? Do you trust somebody who's not 19 with all not dated very much when we're young, but when you're getting to 35 and you got dated. I thought it was maybe a little bit jealous at first, but it actually turned out to be a good thing. When I first met Bruce, he had dated quite a few guys before me he had even lived with somebody for several years and they broke up. And I thought it was a bad thing, but actually wasn't, having somebody didn't tell you it was me. That would be like I had to prove, I think you're great Garrett. And you could pull out all our nose hairs. Look at that. I think meeting somebody who's older than 30 or 35 of them. I don't want to be your friend. Because it is difficult. I love Bruce. We have a lovely life, but I've got to admit, we get on each other's nerves. Can you believe it? I get on somebody's nerves. Wow, you're normal. But what about you, Garrett? Have you dated much before you met your wife? Had she dated? No, not much. You know, a handful of people, you know? It's funny to hear our friends and maybe even your friends too go, oh man. You know, my number is like 25. Mine's not that high. I've got a very low number. Me too, but like we have friends that haven't connected with that right person. They're like, oh, you know, over the past like ten years, maybe about 30. Like, that's a lot of people. That's almost like some people, you know. I try not to judge you. I really try not to judge people sex life. I do. I don't know if I do. I'm particularly because I'm gay, I fought all my life for people to not judge who I sleep with or kiss the dates of me, it's quite a touchy subject, so I really, really try on this one. But Matt James, I think maybe I'm wrong. I'd love to know what you think about this. Dating is sort of a skill. It is a skill and being a good friend. You've got to have a little bit of practice. Your first like your first kiss, I don't want my first kiss to be the person I marry because I'm not really a very good kisser and I've kissed quite a few people now, but I'm still not a very good kisser. How are you in the kissing garity, you're a good kisser? I always lead. Like I feel it looks like an act of desperation. You know, you know what I mean? You're doing it. They're saying that Biden and Kamala Harris want to be there in person and have some sort of sense of normalcy. I think they're all going to wear masks. Goodness knows they believe in science. I think Gaga is going to be there. I don't know, but I will predict she's going to to be there for me. She's wonderful. The girl can sing, I love her values. I love born this way. I never tell you my wife actually grew up playing with her. No. So her dad got his first job from my father in law. What was she like as a child? Was she special then? Did you know she was going to be a big star or is she different? Well, no, it was one of those things they played when the kids went to work with daddy. You know their parents. Yes and this is not the first time that it was reported but the latest iteration of something like this came on april eighth. Twenty eighteen yeah. It was a british tabloid called the daily star and they reported that buzz aldrin in three other astronauts gordon cooper edgar mitchell and awarding. They participated in this study. And we'll get into what the study actually was. But a study that revealed buzz aldrin as well as some of these other guys had in fact seen some kind of bizarre object or unexplainable phenomena in space right with a specific quote attributed to dr rendezvous. Which i'm i'm going to have to call him for the rest of this show. Okay say allegedly. He said there was something out there. That was close enough to be observed. Sort of l-shaped. Yeah yeah we'll talk about that attribution like you said. Yeah we'll tell us a little bit about what what went down there. What's the skinny. What's the scoop. Okay so the the test that they participated in was a different kind of lie detector test and not the one that you might be familiar with if you watch. "Can we a can we stop for a second and you just sit on that. Because i kept watching this in watching this thing. Play out originally when he he did his package. It was like oh. He's a motivational speaker. This'll be interesting to see what wisdom and encouragement and support he brings into the house. Because that's what you would associate with motivational speaking. I would think so my question and this is where. I wanna throw with the listeners. Has anybody ever heard. Karl speak or does anybody know what he speaks on when it when he does his career. But this felt so opposite. And i was trying to a bigger word for opposite. But i'm not that smart now So yeah that's a good word of what you would expect from a motivational speaker right. Can we talk about what a motivational speaker does. Don't they usually have really full healthy careers and experience to be able to speak about things to inspire people and motivate people about how you just be a motivational speaker speaker as a twenty something who we all know what you've accomplished. Or maybe he has. Maybe he does. Maybe he has more of a story to his name than we've seen but i'm ready to see it now. Like we like now we. He's so much of a character. He's caused so much drama. Like what does carl do one. I think for me. Motivational speaker uses sort of feeling is like the way that they lead right. Like a whether it's like it's like using the feelings that you have to sort of motivate your life the positive feelings to take you in a certain direction do things like whenever i hear motivational speaker that i feel like it's really good. They pull my heartstrings. Or just my my soul like to lead me a certain way. Whereas i almost feel like he is the like you said the opposite hannity into. This is what the word i was looking for. S actually so. I feel like he is like doing the opposite in the sense that he is using his words to take a very emotional experience like the batter. It's all about finding lug tugging at your soul your heartstrings. He's making it into a competition and winning. Then he's taking things about people he should be talking about. The guys in the house is positive ways. Everyone's here trying to find love. Go on there pat. that's a motivational speaker. Ado in said he's trying to cut the guys now. He's doing it all opposite. I don't know how boxes job. I can't believe he actually make some money doing that. But i mean we gotta find out how successfully we at one conference in front of ten people called motivational speaker. You know this is a bachelor title but at the same time it just because i say all this to bring up the point you said he wants screen time okay. That's some people's pursue right. You want screen time. That's not the unknown. When it comes to cast in the franchise easily get sorted out. Pretty well sometimes but for him. If you were wanting screen time you're walking into this experience you would think in your mind you be like. I want screen time.

If things are getting forced to soon wherever you make us seem has just seemed extremely forced in awkward to me so far But it could just be early in the season and they'll get there. I really don't because i feel like i'm watching this. This is week one. And we've i think it was two guys this time said. Can i kiss which is a great thing to do very respectable but like it was almost because i feel awkward and now i don't know what to do and so i'm going to ask this because we're still like unfamiliar with it. Wasn't like out of a respect and out of like it was more like. I just feel awkward right now and i feel like i need the kiss you so can i. That would help this moment exactly and they all going really fast. Try to slow in just something about it. And there's a lot of kind of awkward quirky guys in the season which i love like nike type awkward quirky and i'm in. That's what my husband has. I love porky. But like it's just it makes for interesting make outset here that i've never brought up. But you bring up a great point alley and ashley. I'm sure you've experienced this then. Sure listeners have all experienced this. Also you know what's more awkward than than even the initial kiss or approach. You're kissing strangers. It's like a second date. Maybe hey all good do what you gotta do. But the moment that gets most awkward and even watching the season i like. We're i feel like we're seeing it more is when the kiss ins and people are sitting there like oh. That was good. Yeah that was there. Assist part it's so cringe to watch. And i remember those moments because you're like you're kissing because we didn't have anything else to talk about now. We just kissed and we still don't have anything else to talk about. Except that this was a kiss. And so we're just gonna sit here and analyze it and then we're hoping somebody comes in and breaks it up so we can go like those moments to me. i just. They're awful to watch this so funny and so true and so true all right. Yeah i'm thinking the same thing. Okay what they did was. Heather with heather mcdonald. They were supposed to do. There's supposed express why they were the greatest lover their all time. Okay in curls the guy who like went up and just started yelling obscenities than later and episode like had the whiteboards and all that. Yeah is the one who likes star drama at the cocktail party. So originally carl gone soon. Or he's gonna stick around for dramas but case. Seems like she's not necessarily doing that whole thing because the way she let cody go but that's later in the episode there then okay so let's go donald onstage talking about how the guys have to prove basically how sexual they are. I immediately mike okay. So we're getting a date like this every single season i had. I was the of the date last time when the guys are the girls had to tell matt you read read a great erotica. Yeah that was like you know it was fun and you know. Sometimes i'm not down for the over sexualization but my date was fun. I think you can like really convert it into something romantic. Like they like to pretend like you're gonna have to be like super sexual but then like all these guys and the girls on mine You can make it sweet. You can make it romantic. "That's important in a city now. I mean you've gotten comfortable in l. a. Now you're in a new city. What is it when because a lotta people have moved during covert a lot of people have switched around. What is it that you're like what's important to you. They're outside of friendships. That we've already talked about food famously. Through like when kevin. And i my husband we were trying to figure out where we wanted. To live in nashville. We we picked restaurant that one. Let me caveat with. I'm vegetarian and my husband's vegan and we moved to the south where barbecues so we knew that there was this one restaurant food that we really liked to go to. There's a bunch of la you guys might have been good but so we knew that we're that restaurant we kept saying to our realtor. How far is food. How far is this or do that. We just wanted to live near a restaurant. Worry new we get food that we eat and enjoy but honestly the food has been one of the hardest transitions for me. Because i'm so used to. La food where everything is like pretty healthy like you can order like the unhealthiest thing on the menu in like it's it's still kind of healthy kind of crazy and i didn't really realize that until i move somewhere where that's not. The case. is that funny. I feel the same way. They have no organic food vegetables here at the grocery store like even trader. Joe's like you can't necessarily find like every food like every Pizza produce like they don't always have organic version of it and we just heard island in general. They're not health conscious whatsoever here. You know it's all about barbecue and biscuits and gravy and butter. And so i will go and order like i went to this restaurant the other day and it was a new american restaurant really nice and we ordered because again. We're vegetarian and there isn't for us to choose a lot of the menus here so a lot of order a bunch of science. Because that's the only thing we can eat so like order like the broccoli. Brussels sprouts the roasted carrots and they were all so drenched in sauce and butter in like even the vegetables are healthy. Gained like gend browns. As you move your which is the end of the world. But i'm not like uber focused on that but like i am like. Oh my gosh like i have to pay. Friends is the most important thing when you open. You know friends like people that you see yourself being friends with and then the second thing for me is food. Great well allie it. I hope this birthday party goes so fantastically. They are great people. You're great people even if it doesn't work out even if this friendship day doesn't continue to happen it's just nice. Nice ring and you can just they. They know their food better than anybody to so. It's like a match made in heaven. You give me the thank you for setting me up on the perfect blind date. "I think that kind of what will open up even more when they got kindergarten like really primary school. But i do think i am going to start meeting more people that way for sure. Would you say that. That is the hardest thing that you've had with the move friends. Not having yeah. Yeah like i you know on. La it was so we moved out of la always. Didn't want to raise my kids there. Yeah i love los angeles for what it has to offer but in if you grew up in a way maybe you wanna raise your heads in. La 'cause actually no. That's not what i know. I know small town small school kindergarten with the kids. You graduate high school with the mets. Just not what. La as and so. I knew he didn't want to raise our kids there. So i'm happy that we laugh but i had this like they went to the best preschool. All my in. I in la just happened to have kids at the same time. And they all wanted his name preschool or most of them did and you know my girlfriend lived two blocks away. Every night came over for wines. I think i'm just like adjusting to like the kobe transition and then the transition of just not knowing that many people but again i might putting myself out there. I'm going on a lot friends day. It's the birthday party that we're going to with didi. That ben introduced me to today. That's our first birthday parties. I definitely see it like headed in the right direction. Good i two things. I want to touch on with you. Alex i think this is really interesting topic for people listening. Also one of the things that you can move to denver for me deal and we of took this strategy where obviously we're going to have some time with my friends like that's going to happen.
