And i know i've mentioned a few times on the podcast on some episodes where i was homeless at one time and i wanna talk about that now since his kind of fitting for nepad no that just getting information out there but i wanna talk about some interaction i had with homeless beforehand or one that sticks out particular so as most people before became homeless. Always had this aversion of trying to not make contact or anything that would give a homeless person reason to approach me to ask for money. And i wanna say wanna say probably twenty years ago. Two thousand five somewhere. Between three and five. When i started becoming attrition. there's one time. When i was still an apprentice electrician me and my journeyman guy that i worked under and was training under during launch or probably was lunch. We went to gas station to Get some snacks. I think he forgot his lunch box. I i don't know. I forgot what it was. But instead of eating the lunch that we either brought zig going out to eat gestation and this station was in. Houston it was off of i ten and i can't recall the exit or the street name. I just know that it was by second baptist church so was closer to the beltway. Okay they the name right now. Hand case second baptist. Church is a mega church in houston. That's gonna come into play the second zoe walking into the gas station. We noticed a homeless guy. You know trying to approach us in kind of flagons down and he was like gone intercept path like we were going to run until there's no way that we could walk to the door without running until so we're just like fine and before he got like close enough to stick his hand out in You know the design that he's asking for money he actually put his head as you know showing us his palm but facing us like a halt hold on and he's a hey look look. Listen i know. I'm can ask you for money. I got money okay and breaches and do pocket pulls out a knock of cash like was just a role and he peels twenty handed to us. He says hey. Look do me a favor. I want a diet coke and a snickers the thing is you know that fucking sand nigger won't let me in there and blah blah blah and. Just you know. Cussing up a storm about the convenience store owner clerk every west but clearly angry essentially the clerk or the attendant wouldn't let him come in to buy anything so he gave us a twenty eight. He's he looked just to be fair by me. A diet coke sneakers and so me and my dream and kind of look at each other. We start looking around and like are we on camera or you know like just kind of like we felt like we were being setup. Somehow 'cause wise this homeless guy giving us cash. This guy was cool. We homeless and before we go and he said hey look and you know you can use at twenty by whatever. You're in by yourselves. Just here you go just to me i favor so we go in and we were still really just like what the hell a homeless guy giving us money to buy him something to go ahead and buy ourselves whatever. We're going to get we just kind of like just weird feeling. This is crazy. This is weird. So we go inside. And i don't recall who paid for the homeless guy stuff. I think my journeyman went ahead and bought the stuff and didn't use the guys twenty or maybe was me a recall who paid for what was probably my german though so we go back out and the guy his food and we give them twenty back and the guys like you didn't pay for it like known enough. I told you so he digs in his pocket pulls out. Another twenty gives me a twenty as my german at twenty. Look i got money looking just shows us not. It's like twenties tens and ones just easily five hundred bucks in his hand more and He just tells you know. Hey don't worry about me. I have money. The problem is nobody will let me in. No way. he'll let me buy stuff and asked him so. Then if you go this money why. Why are you doing this. Why are you handling. Why don't you get an apartment. Want she had a job. 'cause you know still have that like disdain towards home people like hey why don't you just go get a job. His answer was essentially he just got tired of the rat. Race you know. He didn't explain why he was homeless. He just said he didn't want to go back in to. You know getting a job into the whole nine. He's a he does fine. He's he posts up there sunday morning and he says the hardest thing is at first person before the service like before the morning service or each service our because there's like six. Am adm ninety service. Ten am there's like four or five services in the morning and the late two in the evening and so he's was that as a spot and he would essentially just one set first person gave him some money then until everybody got into service just about every other car or at least one car now again. This is like fifteen twenty years ago. So i don't remember the exact details of what he told me but he said essentially that it least one to five cars per Stoplight cycle would give them cash. Sometimes it'd be a hundreds of dollars it'd be a couple of bucks but anywhere between a dollar and one hundred dollars you know. Hundred dollar bill and You would do that for all the services by the end of you know sunday. And he would only panhandle on sunday. He said And we essentially spent all wants period there or lunchtime there came back lake disguise story and Was only the the big thing that really stick out was that he was making probably a thousand dollars week. Just standing out there on sunday. So why don't you get a place. And he just he can't live indoors anymore. You can't eat to us to being outside and doing as he pleases. But the most frustrating part is not being accepted or seen as human and Anyways kinda gives a listening the fields because of my situation too so that day. I kind of decided upon myself okay. Homeless people are human. They're not all terrible or not bad. Sound like. I'm going to become homeless. Just because they give this guy a dollar twenty so fast forward another three or five years. When i was getting divorced from my first wife i was a asshole pieces. Shit would wanna call me. And i did a lot of things to my first wife and it wasn't intentional. It wasn't to be mean. It wasn't because i was an abuser. It was just an had this mindset at. I'm going to have sex every day for the rest of my life. i'm married. there's no excuse for me not to have sex. And of course there'd be times where she wasn't in the mood or because she knew found out that i had cheated on her a week or two previous. You know she still felt hurt unable to trust me all all these other things that were my fault but because she didn't want to have sex because of her feelings then i was like okay. Fine i'm gonna go have sex again because there's no excuse for this. There's no reason for me not to get late. So this was just a vicious cycle through in the whenever. She wanted to have an argument in down. Say that you know you don't her because she's ugly. She's fat because of whatever just to validate or excuse my behavior. So i put it through lot. There were times that we would get into arguments and she would get physical and grab a knife grabs a frying pan or.
