The Legend of Alejandro Kirk

"Today Dave talking about the legend of all a hundred kirk man that was fun to watch last night. Our. Listeners if you haven't seen the highlights pause this podcast call up the Blue Jays highlights from last night in to see something like you've never seen before it's. If, you can imagine a shorter maybe larger Pablo Sandoval plan catcher and going four for four and hitting home runs. I mean unbelievable. He's listed five eight to sixty five physically reminds me we you know you're trying to come up with the copper there were Sandoval Mike. was maybe being older Benjie Molina not young. But Older Benjie Molina and you could see the way runs. He's not ever going to be the Swiss guy. But part of the reason why I mean forget the you know the size and the shape. See Guy he's a right handed hitter. You do not see hitters in two, thousand, twenty hit the ball to right field away. He does that was I think. It's were to right field right including the home. Look. It's a he's a remarkable story for starters what he's only twenty one yet. Yes. Played above class say he can hit the bat looks legit. He walked more than he struck out in the minors last year and yeah, the Blue Jays have gotten dope production from their catchers this year. So can he play in the play offs I dunno buster yes. I mean you know who knows when we actually get there but you know when we reach this time of year teams, they don't really care what's in the back your baseball card they they don't really care when you were drafted or you know how much money they paid you. They only WANNA know if you're getting results, this is someone signed in two thousand sixteen out of Tijuana Mexico. As an amateur free agent and you know and I know teams are not going to be calling up catchers at age twenty one unless they wanna take a look

US Open Day 14 - Thiem at last; Zverev devastated

"I'M ALMOST THERE CAN BE A. A third I've just called the name of mine wrong. What was it called ready What's his real name? I'm on my second bid David. Leads you've just opened third Tonia. Catherine. It's an Aq-. It's an Eq-. Right okay. So. Yeah. I'm drinking San Miguel apparently others call semi Guel. Not to worry about three of them. We've just watched the men's singles final. It is the sort of final that makes me feel like I've had about five days. Even if I haven't because it's. A meandering delirious. I don't really know how to sum it up. It was just but. Yeah I'm slightly worried that the match is just a big blur in my mind and I'm going to struggle to talk about what actually happened. I can remember very strongly the feeling of it happening and how I felt watching it. I think that will be etched into my mind forever because it was one of those matches by the end I was just so an egg tense for both players A. But trying to rationalize what happened might be quite a difficult task I think. Is a bit light last year's final when ref on the Dow lead two sets to love and a break. And that looked over and then suddenly it was in a fifth set is it bit lineup? No. I didn't think. It was follow quality I would say. I thought I thought. was really good like the whole time. This one was patchy. But the idea of it being not that interesting because looking like going to be a straight sets win. And then suddenly you don't want the match to end and you wanted to go on forever in that sense, it was similar. But I don't think quality-wise or. Sort of the reasons for why ended up being such a dramatic match were that similar tall I also think that Medvedev's comeback last year was completely unexpected I think again somebody like. Nidal or not somebody like against Nidal, if love down in your first Grand Slam final. Very few people are predicting away back I think even at sets breakdown today. People will. I think most people watching. Were waiting dominate team to wake up and. Waiting for something that felt like, surely, it has to happen surely at some stage today even if it's only. A small research and see and I am a break back pushing the set to a tiebreak. Winning a set. People were waiting to see the real. Dominic team. It felt. It felt like only a matter of time whether he could get it together. In time. Before it was either. But for me, that was quite crucial difference in how this one felt. Lost felt I will remember this match I think in the long run for the final set and for the final set tiebreak but. You can't have that without the other stuff that comes before just two guys. So, let's talk about that talk about the start of the match. And how we it was. It was weird. It was I mean festival Amazon deserve. Totally, different men to the guy who came out against public arena buster looked. Just, totally paralyzed with nerves and unable to play his normal game. He looked free now there for those first two sets, he looked languid he has. He has a languid power. Unlike, anybody else I think when you he said of generates speed of shot whether it's the serve of one hundred and seventy seven miles now or four hundred. That's kind of hit the back fence without you realizing he's actually hit it that hard. I don't think anybody else gives me that. kind of feeling out on the circuit of the moment you can. I can feel the power of everybody else is almost a slight of hand the way he does it, but he was timing the ball way way better and also the intent was there and he was coming into the net I mean the statistics on his net approaches. I think after a sense set in half to gone to the net twenty times. And with some success, he looks uncomfortable at the net, but he was just playing. The odd. So masters using his six foot six inches his wingspan. Great. Get into the net. And Dominic team was absolutely awful.

"Just had two more Gargantuan. Grand Slam semifinals one of the best of five sets which was weird and not very wonderful and one straight-sets match, which was absolutely spelled binding and. Just had everything. I've seen a more dramatic thrill ride of a straight-sets match and what is left us with is Alexander Zverev coming back from two sets to love down. To beat public arena buster in five and then dominate team squeezing past Daniel Medvedev and a couple of tiebreaks to at least get something of an earlier night, which is not something that we're really used

Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions: Injuries to Watch

"Sponsored by Affinity. The Bears, of course, with a Friday practice, getting ready for the regular season opener Sunday in Detroit against the Lions, but it's looking like linebacker Robert Quinn will not be a part of it. He hasn't practiced all week due to an ankle issue is doubtful on the injury report. And if you ask Matt Maggie, what might be one word from Quinn's perspective on the situation? It's frustrating frustration. Good word. I know. You know how how Robert is as a person when you just know who he is. Yu Darvish, Cubs became perfect fit over time

"Now I wanted to ask you about this in it's a harder question to. Answer Two thousand twenty because we're it's not like we're in club houses and we can watch the body language and see players and how they interact with each other i. know in that first year that there were people in the cubs organization who felt like that darvish just wasn't comfortable with the group and it didn't have any do I. Personally I don't think with the other players on the team, but just he maybe was just the pressure of the contract where it felt like he was more of an outsider, not completely within the team realm what what are you seeing? What are you hearing more? So about that now? Get Away, I can relate it from my world reporting world. Is that first year it even though he speaks fine English, he used a translator all year with the media. Now he didn't use it with his teammates but. I think that was is an example of how things change in the second year last year he spoke English, his personality came out he he he got he got to know reporters like myself a lot better and then this year in Spring Training Boston he was like the class clown he was having a great time with us until things shutdown ironically or I guess that's the right word coming back from the pandemic only being able to zoom interviews he's been different. He's been back to being kinda quiet and back he's used a translator at times in the zoom interview so the other thing. Is. He's having so much success. You know how guys are in the middle of a great run they don't WanNa really talk about themselves so much, and that's all we're asking is about him. So things have gone a little quiet this year, but there's good reasons behind it but from year one year too when you're two to three, he changed big time and you might be right. It might be the contract I think coming off what happened in world series in seventeen with the dodgers really affected him as well big time, and then he comes to the cubs in eighteen huge contract big market. Diehard of bands everywhere expecting the world and you know he was also injured as it turns out so that first year was a mess and then slowly but surely he came out of his show that these interviews in English teammates got the no one better 'cause even in even in eighteen. Teammates I saw with Rizzo hanging out on the road and stuff like he was still tight with teammates but not the saint he wasn't outgoing now he's outgoing and that really is true personality. So it Kinda mimics what he's done the mount he's become self again on the mound as well as in the dugout in the clubhouse and with the media.

"George Thomas Seaver was the New York mets. He made excellence a standard in our clubhouse on our team. Tommy had a look ahead, focus and an ability. Why The San Diego Padres Are The Big Winners Of The Trade Deadline

"Normally we go through a list of winners and losers. But by acclamation, we'll say the San Diego Padres, where the winner Sarah, what did you think about what the padres did? Oh my gosh. So I have been embedded in spreadsheet since like eleven thirty this morning trying to really quantify exactly what they did and I think I have the stat here. So they've acquired eight players who will go through the mall you know, but they've acquired eight players who played in the majors at some point this year. So that's everybody you've heard about except for Austin Adams who's hurt came from the Mariners I am ninety, eight percent shore. That's the most. League talent acquired in the month of the deadline because some of these trade were a couple of days ago by any team in that just tell you exactly what you need to know it is just there are so many players Clovinger we have Mitch Moreland Alison Nola Jayson Castro. Dan altuva. Trevor Rosenthal, Greg Allen until it will so lot lot mainly tolerate there What do you think it does for the padres. I would say this, the dodgers are still the team to be, but I think four days ago the dodgers were so far ahead of every other team in the National League they were the overwhelming favorite to win the NFL caveat anything can happen to the playoffs but now to me, padres are a very strong number two team in the national they gave up a lot. They gave up a lot of future depth, but they're better in two thousand twenty Mike is going to be around presumably for a couple more years. So they're going to be better in twenty, twenty one they were already the most exciting team. I think baseball this year, and now they ratcheted up another notch.

Monkey-Fighting Grannies with Airsoft Guns

"If you want some real world heroes to celebrate look no further than the self-declared monkey busters of Japan three elderly women armed with air soft guns, keeping monkeys away from their villages crops. The monkeys have been a big problem in the prefecture of Fukui where the women live destroying fruits and vegetables grown by the residence for the past five years. This past spring, the local government hosted a class to teach residents how to get rid of the monkees. All three women took the class and have now taken it upon themselves to control the situation in their village of Keishi town. Report saying that the three are so dedicated that they often drop everything in order to scare a monkey with their air soft guns when needed frequently appearing still in their aprons. Cleveland Indians Ace Shane Bieber Developing Into One of the Top Starters in MLB

"Talk about Shane Bieber who last night another great start and it was looking at his numbers this morning. Mad. He's faced one hundred, fifty batters in those he struck out sixty five, he's allowed five runs the whole year four those on home runs runners in scoring position forty, one innings or forty and two thirds innings pitched and only been ten situations in which a batter came up with a runner scoring position, and they're all for ten when we were lucky enough. To have him on a Sunday night, broadcast a couple of weeks ago and they're not many times would do in a broadcast and you're watching pitchers stuff and it's kind of taking your breath away. But that start watching his cut fastball particular it's curb all good Lord I don't know that anybody hits him. Yeah, and you know I mean I I you had the same kind of Breathlessness when you watch him as is when you watch a handful of other guys in the League. Like Derek Cole. I don't know if you saw Casey. Anything Casey mize's debut the other night. Yeah. Man. There were flashes in there where you might goodness split finger, fastball moves screwball. And boy those guys are fun to watch the way. They can manipulate the ball and I'll use a pitching coach term, shape their pitches. By the way I don't ever remember hearing people talking about shaping pitches before rap Soto, and some of the baseball factories that exists around the country now, Yemen. Bieber is fun to watch and when he first came up I, I don't know that any of us took him seriously as an ace in wait he had terrific minor league numbers maybe we should've taken him that seriously had always been a huge kind of strikeout-to-walk ratio guy. Those numbers were always really great in line with the guy that could play in the big league level. But it it maybe it's because he came from from UCSB and it's a very small intimate list of major league players to come from the University of California Santa Barbara. Not a lot of gauchos out there I mean just top of mind and a crisper went. To UCSB, Quinn Mack ucsb Guy Ryan spill boards. UCSB. Guy But it's a small list, right? So. He didn't come with the kind of pedigree that would indicate that this guy's in there and heard you talk about this to be there's something in the sauce in Cleveland. There's something they do developmentally with the air and cer- volleys and the you know Zach Lease Accent Mike cleansers even though that discussion has taken a different track or something that happens with those guys when they get there that takes them to the next level. We we give the Astros a lot of credit for bringing great pitchers to the Uber Grade Level I. Think we have to have that conversation about the Indians as well. You Lie Spirits Sports Bureau Senate there's no chain. BIEBER's the fourth pitcher fifth instance in the modern era since one, thousand, nine, hundred, sixty, five strikeouts in his first six starts this of the. Season Nineteen seventy-eight Nolan Ryan at seventy one, two, thousand, Pedro, Martinez Sixty seven two, thousand, one, Pedro Martinez Sixty six, and then you have shamed bieber and curt schilling with sixty five. So he's off to an incredible start

"To the plate and they're starting to get guys to do that. That's a good sign. But most of these guys are filler. I mean the the guys to kind of you won't be seeing in years from now. But the nice thing about this and chance CISCO's at this a couple of days ago reasons said this all these guys on this team I mean to the twenty eight man roster. There's not a guy on here doesn't have something to prove. That goes from the very beginning young guys we mentioned. Chris Davis's to the wave Leblanc's every single guy on this team is basically fighting for job for next year either in Baltimore or somewhere, and that's Kinda give them a little bit of. Last one for you. The trade deadline is thirteen days away and I do think it's not going to be as star spangled. as we're used to seeing a trade deadline because there's just so many variables and you start with the most obvious one is that teams are not gonNA WANNA give up big time prospects for a player and then have the season shutdown and never get that value return. No one really knows with financial landscapes. The Orioles actually have a guy who I think conor threads the needle on a lot of that stuff that I and I do wonder for teams that have some financial flexibility who actually are interested in winning this year could be really of interest in that's Alex Cobb. Got Of course the dodgers are run by Andrew. Freeman. Who knows Alex cobb well from his days with the Tampa Bay Rays Yep the Yankees. The mets who are currently up for sale you know maybe despite all their current financial problems, the current ownership, the wilpon say, Hey, if we have a chance to make the blouse sweet jump in the Phillies, the braves I could run through three or four other teams as well, and it seems like Alex Cobb I. Mean you're you're watching it in a way that I'm not. It does feel like that. You know what? He's back to the point where you could look at him. If you're a contender easing year three of a four year fifty, seven, million dollar deal and say you know what? Maybe I'd give up something form the orioles probably a looking to shed his salary anyway, and he could help us this year. If in fact we finish and then at the very least, it can help us two thousand, twenty one. What do you think? I think absolutely if teams are willing to spend right now. It's not even really almost as much as they give up. Obviously, there's something back return something they can kind of hang their hat on and say, Hey, we got these two young guys. But it's all about who's GonNa take that salary I mean fifteen, million next year. It's pro rated a fourteen million this year. Are there teams out there who feel like they're financially strong enough that you know that they're gonNA take him in August are guaranteed that September and the playoffs are going to happen and can be able to turn around and do something next year with them in the end and absorbed that basically allow the teams you mentioned it seems like they could but you know you just Kinda gotta wonder what the financial landscape is. Alex. COP can still pinch, Alex? Alex, Cobb never stopped being able to pitch. You stop being able to stay healthy and that's that's the problem here and right now you know he's healthy and he's pitched good yesterday. You know he was as I I. Guess You'd say tough start but basically he gave up a three-run homer after giving up three infield singles I mean it was just one of those kind of things it got him what are you still went? Six, two thirds of the longest anyone else starter has gone this year Alex Cop. Can Pitch and Alex help somebody and the oils are willing to deal Alex Alex. Cobb wouldn't mind he really likes. US Right now I think last year he was looking to move on I. Think he really likes young group and the energy there but I think he'd be more than willing to go to a contender and try to get A. Ring like you said, mentioned with the dodgers Friedman's really interesting fit there. All of that said it's going to have to be a team that's willing to a give up money and give up something player wise. I think your those obviously our release something they're always looking for right now to rebuild, but they do want to be able to show their fans yet. We gave our best pitcher but hey, we got two more. Guys in the pipeline and that's the whole thing. This prospect the this farm system is going to number twelve according to baseball. America, it's got some guys coming, but they're pretty far away. The best guys they have would have probably been at Frederick which is high or double a buoy this year and so that really you know the whole pandemic whole layoffs, the no minor league baseball that hurts the oil so they need. Talent pipeline I think they'd be more than willing to trade Alex cops, but it's gotta be the right fit for someone growing, take my contract and can give them one or two. You know prospects that they can feel good about yeah his Xm. Right now is three point seven nine and I think the way if you're a contending team the way you look at it as okay this winter. If Alex Cobb was a free this winter would we be willing to sign who to a one year? Million dollar deal based on what we're seeing now. Of course you're going to measure that against the landscape. My instinct is that someone like him this winter probably is going to get ten to twelve million dollars, but you know what? Maybe you take on that little extra money. For the shirt short term deal a proven veteran on a one year contract in two thousand and twenty one that's not bad and I could I could easily see someone like android taking a look at that being interested. The only thing is advancing age and more. So the health situation I mean, he basically you get two surgeries last year he's coming back from that year before he set out for the the contract part of it, you know trying to get himself a deal and then he had blisters and he had some some nagging stuff here and there that limited him to several games. So I mean, it's a situation where you. Know he really hasn't pitched almost two full seasons because last year was a complete Washington wash for everybody up until now. So you gotTa make sure that you're going to be betting on health anyway here's the guy with health risks but you the great clubhouse guy he's a, he's a great veterans a great guy to have around. I mean he certainly help achieve they're just GONNA have to figure those specifics. All Right Dan, thanks for doing this and have fun watching a contender. Absolutely, it's been a while Mansa awhile to carry yourself buster. Bleacher tweets. Already buster, bleacher tweets four TWOS D. I one up Mitchell. At Tigers of Detroit writes in which recently called up Detroit rookie we'll have the greatest impact this year the most town on Casey Mayes I can't wait to see him pitch when you're that when you're that young and you have that kind of course, I mentioned the ratio so far in professional baseball hundred and twenty strikeouts just twenty six walks that's pretty special. So he's going to be someone who I think is going to impact right away especially pitching in the American league central. Last. One for today Jake Reagan at Underscore Jake. Reagan. Wrightson while the braves, nats and mets all lose key contributors. The phillies have stayed mostly healthy knock on wood. Does that combined with an offense that's top five in the NFL and opie s average in o b p Make them a dark horse division winner Yes. Yes hundred percent I don't know if you agree with what?.

"Did we gotta have you on to talk about the oils because my gods there right in the middle of the prey playoff race how shocked are you? I'll tell you what they ended right now buster and we have ourselves a ticker tape parade in Baltimore Down Pratt Street. It's It's been kinda crazy You know I mean I I'm I'm shocked. I thought gave it twenty wins nineteen. I think my over under and obviously they've got twelve already so that in itself is pretty crazy. So tell me why you think this is happening. Well they can hit they can really hit and and the guys who you know who are hitting this year. We saw this in the second half last year with no one was paying attention the Orioles Anthony Santana are does dare was having a good second half and Ha-. HAS ARE BERTA was batting over three hundred and real ruis leave certain come into his own in amber and we're not immune hit thirty, one home runs. So we kinda solve this and it's like is it a flu or these guys really come into their own? They're all between the ages of twenty five and twenty, seven and They are and they can hit and you know they continually hit and if they can get a little bit of pitching can get some starting pitching yearbook it's been okay but. Obviously, the started coaching did not going very deep and so because of that you're starting to see cracks and you're starting to see losses and things are starting to come back normal. But this team is GonNa hit I think for for all sixty do you think and and it's kind of a weird question to ask in a year in which no one is allowed to attend games have they captured the imagination of Orioles fans yet? I think you've captured the interest at this point I. Think People Are you. I did a bar blog of by calumnies taproom on death. Lotta yesterday about when he started thinking about playoffs when you start thinking this real and a Lotta people basically respond to me saying that they're they're into it now that they're interested they kind of have given up a given up after two thousand seventeen in that collapsed in September two, thousand seventeen really did not return eighteen and nineteen which. Losing is seasons. But they're back now they're interested they wanna see what's going to happen. I don't think there'd the immagination set yet I, think people still kind of expect maybe the the the wheels fall off a little bit specifically because you know the pitching is a question. However, I think that people are back into their people through this long stretch were just waiting for baseball when baseball came back wheels baseball was a lot better than anybody anticipated. So I think they're interested there I'm sure the TV ratings are are really good locally and I think there would be more people out of the ballpark because this team and specifically because of the offense is fun to watch. I think you would agree with me they're probably at least two to four years from being relevant in terms of the context of how good the Yankees are or where the rays are. We're the Blue Jays are because they still have to collect enough pitching to contend consistently and with that as the framework for this, which of these guys that you're watching now in this lineup, you'd think may still be part of that solution in the two to four years when the team starts to turn the corner. Yeah I was actually putting. It grads as four to five honestly and yeah. I Yeah I was being nice. And I I think Gordon appreciates that and I think it's two four I think several of these guys will be part of it if it's if it's five or close to five four to five, I think sometimes there is is twenty five years old. A he'll be a free agent after three more seasons from this So if you're looking at five, maybe not him, but he's he's probably the guy they were kind of circling saying this guy is could be part of this rebuil- truly could be around after it He's the Kinda. Guy That you know if he continues do this, you know he's guy you would think they would give a little money to because he really does kind of have it all and you know he's Only, twenty five right now. So He's the guy you'd think would be one of those. You know advance free agent type deals. If he continues to do stuff, he obviously likes Baltimore all these guys love it there because they're kind grown up together as far as two to four years from now I'd say a maybe a third of his Rosser you know a lot of these guys are just basically get you over the hump guys and that's really all they were supposed to be the starting rotation. Young team for building team, you only have one guy one member of the starting rotation that's John Needs under the age of thirty one, I mean they. Put veterans in there that could kind of just clog the space and give them some innings in and throw strikes, which is really the one of the biggest differences buster this year from you know the last couple years with his team is actually throwing strikes more I was up is more they. You know Doug Brocail was going crazy as well as brandon, Hyde just because these guys are getting opportunities last year and nobody would throw the ball..

Was Friendship Kerry on the braves television network can. Just watching that last night first off I love the home run celebration. Julie Distant Two Thousand Twenty Dan's Swanson Cross home plate and just puts his hands in the air and they're all jumping up with her hands in the air like little kids doing half jumping Jack, that sort of thing. But in watching that, you know the braves win that game, they obviously have had their share of devastating injuries. Could go going down. A you know when you look at the mets, they've had all kinds of problems starting with the Noah syndergaard injury other guys going down the nationals of Ad Issue Stephen Strasburg shutdown the PHILLIES team right now they're pitching is an absolute mass and when you follow the beat writers to cover these teams, there's that sense of this is a total disaster. This team can't recover well, someone Dave has got. To win the national. League East what you got on that yeah. Well, somebody is going to win and somebody else will make the playoffs they're guaranteed to playoff spots but yeah, the braves rotation with all the injuries other than Max free eight. It's a mess. What did I look up here? So Mike Arocca went down August third, and since then the Atlanta rotation is average less than four innings start. They won last night but two key to. You know what he walked loss is You Know Kyle writing is really struggled. They're gonNA to give Josh Tomlin a chance in the rotation. Then, you go to the phillies worse. Both baby are in the majors the mets they can hit, but they can't pitch. You Know Jacob degrom missed his last start or got push back the Marlins I don't think really buy them Strasbourg. Hurts the nationals but yeah I guess somebody will win this division. And if you are a fan of the phillies or the mets or the braves of the Marlins for that matter, any of these teams don't just assume that your team has out of it because the division right now is a complete mess. It's total mud bog and it you know the five five game winning streak might be the difference between first place and fourth place with the way that this division is last night was a huge win for the braves you know two games swing. Compared to the nationals you know they're still the favorite I. Think Fan Grass has them at fifty seven percent to win the division I don't think it's really that high in the state of the rotation but. It's going be a wild the September in that division well, with Sunday night baseball this week with phillies and braves were. Looking to get somebody from the braves in the podcast later in the week I got somebody in mind but hopefully, that'll happen. I appreciate you coming on the podcast couple times last week and hosting day..

"And want drives one out to left centre. See You later he knew it in CRT And now we do to his seventh of the year. An apple is Bob Carpenter F. P Santangelo on mass in my God debut start with this, he killed that. He seven home runs in his last ten games and he's a left-handed hitter. Any takes the ball out to left Centerfield. He absolutely destroyed that ball and after hit it, he stood at home plate for what a nanosecond or two nanoseconds he definitely stood and watched it and will Smith. Said something to them. They're clearly you could hear it in that clip we just played there was some yelling on the field, the home plate umpire actually came out. To, step in between will Smith and Soto, and again I'm like get over it I. Think it was egregious like what he did he just watched it for just a little bit and then he took his trip around the basis I do think that after being yelled at, he started to slow a little bit between second and third I think I would to Yellen Anatomy. One. So you know we know his reputation. Among other players is Controversial. Let's put it that way with some of the adjustments. That home played he does. His home runs. Let's 'cause I think every home he hits is like twenty rows deep into the into the seats. I'm with you don't throw a bad pitch get the guy out deal with it. You know and in the end the braves got the last laugh because they won the game but get the guy that's the bottom line. Yeah we watched the video and will Smith Allah counts I don't really know him that well by all accounts is you really good guy but he's Kinda stared down one soda was almost like he was looking for it. You know when he clipped the ball because he hit so hard but wills is they're not following the ball they're just absolutely locked in Yeah you're right. It wasn't dad egregious. Saw Certainly has had. You know different homerun celebrations where he admired the ball for a longer period of time. So yeah, I thought we will. Smith was a little out of line there. All right. So these. came from ESPN stats and information. The first person I saw made reference to this was al-Din Gonzales about the number of injuries piling up around Baseball pitchers during the first twenty, four days. This season ninety, seven pitchers in place on the injured list you know we found out yesterday, the Kirby AIDS is going to require surgery. It's likely going to end his season, the seven e Cetera seventy-seven pitcher I l stance due to injury are more through the first twenty four days of the season the previous two seasons combined sixty eight. Two thousand eighteen. Two Thousand Nineteen my theories. About why this is obviously this weird season in which there was a shutdown, there hasn't been a consistent regimen i. do wonder about the effects of the training that we've seen in recent years. We're pitchers are building up their bodies to throw harder than ever I think physiologically there are. There's just so much that body is designed to do and so when pitchers add two or three miles of velocity I think that probably. Put them a little bit more at risk and I do wonder about this factor David. I'm curious about you I. Think there are teams in players clang operations shutdown. In other words, there might be a pitcher he'd not feeling so great. He's not feeling great about what's going on in two thousand and twenty corona virus. It's kind of bootleg season maybe the team is playing on, isn't necessarily in it, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of these are discussions between the team in the pitcher. Hey, if you're dealing with something even it's a minor thing. Let's get it taken care of let's shut you down and let's move on and start to focus on two thousand, twenty one. What do you think? Yeah, I've wondered about that too and you know we don't know all these details that are being are going on behind the scenes but that makes sense. You're going to be as cautious as possible with your eye towards you know twenty twenty one doesn't mean teams don't want to win I i. think most teams do. But on an individual level, you WanNa risk you know your future for sixty game season. So I think with you teams are being extra cautious and I wonder too sometimes in April we see pitchers they come out they're throwing a couple miles an hour slower than they might you know the rest of the year they slowly ramp up a says you mentioned than had a longer spring training but with the must win nature of every game, you know this year they came out through a Max velocity right out of the gate so that Might be a factor but I'm I'm with you. I'd like to know how many how cautious guys are playing this year. Yeah. General Manager said it's to your point about guys coming out at full speed and and ramped up at full velocity general manager said to me. This is why we have spring training. So guys can gradually build up their velocity and being a position where they're in shape wants a regular season starts this number jumped out at me from ESPN stats and Information Jose Altuve as struck out twenty one times in his first twenty games. This season his most in any twenty game stretch in his twelve hundred and sixty three game career. There's no question about it. He looks terrible. Yeah I looked into some of the astros. Hitting struggles the other day and. George Springer Look Lakes of bad luck Alex Bregman he's been getting going since I wrote that piece. But out when you dug into it, there's some real issues going on they're the swing and miss rate is a career high. Yeah. The HIP is I think it's one ninety five. So there are some stuff going on there but he's he's all out of see you know he. He had never had a stretch where he hit under two hundred over this many games over the last three years. So we're obviously not used to see in this from him. and. I know the haters lot of point to the cheating but this. Guy You know the proverbial swinging at the breaking ball taken the fastball down the middle that remember to he's been beat up a little bit. The last couple of years. He's thirty years old. So there's some potential aging on there. He's not a big guy. But somebody. We gotTa Watch over these next few weeks and when the science stealing stuff broke I remember talking about this on the podcasts You know you know Alex Bregman personality I think he'll be fine. He'll go and play his game no matter what kind of reaction he gets Jose Altuve was the one guy where I was like and the interesting part about this is you know we've heard from Carlos, Correa, we've seen this. from that study that was done unhealthy bangs that each player benefited from I. Think it's pretty clear that and I've heard this from people are on the team Jose Altuve a really wasn't involved in that. Hardly at all but he's such a nice person like when he talked to him and I did wonder boy I I kinda think he might take it to heart a little bit more the criticism. You know all the blowback, all the social media stuff maybe more than a lot of the other players did yeah. This was something we talked about back in. March before the season Gut shut down as we did wonder okay..

"Welcome to the show maybe you're in the show with TV show and. David field last week fill in for me I gotTA start with that. Thanks for doing that day. No, and that was fun. Taylor you know spearhead. Got Us through somehow but it was fun to fill in yeah I I. Don't the one thing that I don't like about this is the last two days Taylor is getting way too many Kudos. Up yesterday, you're saying Nice things about him today I'm not really happy about that. Well, you know when your back's against the wall, all you gotta step up, but he came through in the clutch in. Raised his game to a new level. Go ahead Taylor. You can do your do your victory lap here. Well, buster you know I'll I'll give you some credit. You know you gave me pretty good education during this whole pandemic thing. So I'm really just. I'm the monster that you've created. It's all back on you. I feel like that. He's like Nuclear Lucien, I'm Chris Davis the way that he just went through that you know he was giving me the he was giving me the cliche quotes Dave Yeah I'm pretty sure he takes it one day at a time and. Exactly all right. Let's start with this You being Seattle Guy let's talk about the seger brothers Corean Kyle last night became the first brothers to homer in the same game since two thousand, one leap a and Cesar Crespo. June seven, two, thousand one. But easily the most enjoyable part of that or they the grins that both of them were suppressing as the other hit home runs and then rounded the bases. Yes. Yeah. It was really cool. Remember this was the first time they had played against each other in a regular season game back bears dodgers played in two thousand eighteen but a corey was hurt. Before that two, thousand, fifteen before corey been called up. So in fact, I remember talking to Kyle a couple years ago, and at that time they haven't even played against each other in a spring training game and he said he'd only seen Corey play what's on a baseball field in like ten years. Break from college and saw go play like junior high gamer whatever corey was at the time. So is these guys? Are they hardly ever see each other play in person? So that was really cool last night and I got a feel for how much kyle how proud kyle is of his younger brother A few years ago I had this weird connection with these guys I. Think you know it's never been proven. I want to make that absolutely clear but there was a dodger game in St Louis. And as you know, you have that situation where the teams taking batting practice in the fans are out. Behind the rope line and as I was walking out onto the field this person called me over and I think it was corey and Kyle's uncle. And he yelled at me said, you know you're related to the segers and I'm like wow. That's kind of out of the blue and then he explains it said Yeah they have back in their history. There's an old only. From upstate New York and you guys have the you know the family tree goes back. He didn't know exactly where it was. The same great-great-great something and I was I everything. He told me matched up with my family history in terms of where our family is in upstate New York and the Lake George. Area and you know as I sit here today it's funny. act. Lake. George I'm staring out of the water talking with you and so you know I didn't get a chance that data ask Corey about it but the next weekend coincidentally, we had mariners and cubs on Sunday night baseball, and so I walked up to kyle and I said Hey I want your family members told me that we're related and kyle nodded he goes. Yeah. My Dad's been telling me that since I was like thirteen fourteen years old and we're watch one baseball tonight again, it's never been proven I've never seen the actual link that we have, but it's why when we've we've done highlights on the baseball tonight podcast in recent years. I've always said you know cousin kyw cousin Corey when I mentioned the highlights and how they did and it was funny when I talked to Kyle I said man, can you imagine how shocked people that I'm related to you guys and Kyle and he said that's kind of how I feel when people find out that I'm related to Corey. Because he thinks chlorine such a better athlete and so much better than he is. Yeah Yeah, and they do not look like brother facially do physically obviously much different builds with corey taller leaner. Kyle more like a fire hydrant. But Yeah, you know great family they both mentioned last night that they regret their Aritz. Unable to be there back home in North Carolina Their Dad was their baseball coach growing up in another brother who played in the minor leagues. So Yeah I. Think. Kyle maybe underestimating his own athleticism very, very athletic family and that. Their parents were watching watching from home and enjoying the night. So Dave, I thought we were past the whole point where we had baseball's unwritten rules and guys would be offended I thought I thought we were sort of beyond that but it was clear from developments. Last night that is not the case I saw Fernando Tat's junior has another amazing nights at two home runs. But on the second one emits date take sign on a three Oh counts swung and hit his second homer, the game and after the game is manager j tingler acknowledged that that he had ignored. The take sign in fact when Fernando tetechies junior got back to the dugout that's what Tingler told him his manager said now you know you're not supposed to do that and of course, Tingler for a long time with Texas. Rangers Organization. So he had a feel crab set the rangers. People were the quote from Tanga last night. He's young a free spirit and focused on all those things. That's the last thing will ever take away. It's a learning opportunity in that sit he'll grow from Ed the next pitch that after Fernandez. East junior hit that home run was behind Manny Machado. And Chris Woodward the manager of the Ranger said, I didn't like it personally speaking of tattoos junior swimming in a three zero pitch. But like I said the norms of being challenged on a daily basis. So just because they don't like it doesn't mean it's not right. I don't think we liked it as a group and I've thought about this and I've.

"Taylor I am sitting at the shore of Lake George. You can actually hear the water in the background yes. Yeah. You can hear the water. You can hear a bird or some sort of insect chirping. You sent me a picture. It's it's quite serene. So you definitely got me today I'm a little bit. Yeah and their boats going through. So you might hear that in the background during the course. Cats. man I I I just love being here her and love talking about baseball last night, Corey and Kyle. Mookie Betts makes history with another 3-home run game

"So mookie betts last. Night Raby. Three homers Ford does in a game for the sixth time in his career Johnny. Sammy Sosa the only other players do that and movie didn't in a thousand fewer games basically in Mayes and fifteen hundred fewer than So when you look our call you red sox fan but you grew up there for goodness sakes and you see mookie bats, the red sox traded away it off to a start like this and avenue another three homer game. What do you think? Well I. Think it happens on the same day that the red sox give up seventeen runs and look at a single late in the Celtics and Bruins I think both lost and the Patriots are going to start a season without Tom Brady I think this is I think this is a reminder of the come up in Boston sports fans are are about to have to deal with and the next few years now I mean look it's It's a tough pill to swallow for red SOx nation to know that. One of the transformational players of his generation in an era when Mike Trout is playing mu batches is going to be in the conversation. You know there's there's a Jack Nicklaus Arnold. Palmer. Gary Player. There's the Tiger Woods Phil. Mickelson for Awhile, David Duval conversation. I, mean my child's GonNa. Have you know mookie Betts in Clayton Kershaw and that's what this group is going to be about and to know that he was once part of your franchise and now he's not and a franchise paid him a lot of money and you believe your franchise and was capable of doing the same. For those that are moving in dying with the Red Sox I know it sucks. It really really does it's It's just a it's just a reminder and he's got to be that guy we all grew up with them that. Whatever he does he does to a level that few others can do it. So the three six times you know that's the same guy that has four. That's the same guy that bowls three hundred games. He does those things and and there'll be no surprise. You know when he wins more world series wins MVP's that's that guy he's the guy we all grew up with he's just doing it at the highest athletic level.

You will be with Me in Paradise (Luke 23:43)

"Chapter Twenty three verse forty-three. Jesus said to him. Truly I say to you. Today you will be with me in paradise. Those, not some of the most beautiful words and all the Bible. Spoken by Jesus as he's hanging on a cross. He's being mocked. Is being murdered in the most cruel form imaginable in that day. And he looks to this criminal hanging beside him who realizes that? Jesus has done nothing wrong realizes and we don't know all the details but. He realizes who Jesus is. In such a way that Jesus says to him, truly I say to you in other words market down. This is guaranteed today you will be with me in paradise. Like today not in the future. But as soon as you breathe your last breath, you're gonNa be with me in paradise this word for heaven this word for the place where we're finally with God free from Sin Experiencing. Eternal life in Darnell. Joy An eternal peace in him today you will be with me in paradise light let that soak in. That for all who trust in Jesus is. And what she has done on the cross. Ten years from now you're fifty years from now whenever it is, we breathe their last breath that in that moment on that day, we will be with you in paradise. All Glory be to your name. Jesus we trust in you with our life we trust in you with our death. And we break a replay for. So here in Franks key on the radio was normal and regular everyone was like look at this homage homage and that was unexpected and then all the commentary and it's all based on this over sexualization of women and I was like, okay let's see the skull but everybody only defaulted to the over sexualization of the black woman based on this. Stereotype. The stereotype is the idea that. Lack, women typically our class figured lighter skin and with some tape of nine kinky hair, the the the Mulatto type woman is sexually overt and think a Karma Jones right. So Carmen in that movie would be the idea of a jazz about but people forget the conversation where. Black women and their relation also centralized as mammy. So fat dark skinned black women who have kinky hair who are considered not necessarily sexual, right? Because they're not the Jacksonville and yet they reproduce and take care of children. They are the form other four People Gov as the Welfare Queen, they're having tax they're producing but certainly seen as very sexual, and then there's also the Sapphire and the Sapphire is comes from and Andy rate in it's considered that kind of ball buster type woman who is like all well, you can't handle me and. Attitudinal and maybe like a clair huxtable, I will tell you when we will be together in this way and then there's the superwoman. So the Black Superwoman, this idea that women can make a dollar out of fifteen cents, take your communities in their children and their partners and their job and every. Old In an amazing and they're never exhausted or tired always pleasant attitude and the considered asexual right because there are so strong and they don't even need sex and nobody's willing to really them because they don't need have this. Physical pleasure or satisfaction lives. All of these other stereotypes? The only one that people went to focus on was the jets as I pigeonholing. So what do you think that is do you think that people aren't even aware of all these other stereotypes? Be Aware but I don't think that their sexuality is as amped up and I think that a black woman in charge of her own sexual pleasure is scary for some folks. We have a lot of shame I was personally told as a child to call maybe China pocketbook Zionist, governor. Yeah You keep your pocketbook close and you keep it off the floor. Right those are the two things you learned and I was like. That's interesting. Why would it ever be on the floor but the idea that if you had his own sexual pleasure, your type of Ho, your some type of one time and. over-centralised homequote not wifey material right and so I don't think the other ones get as much play because they are somewhat more acceptable.

Should Washington Break Up Big Tech?

"Hi everybody I'm John Donvan, and this is intelligence squared us and we've we've just seen something historic happened digitally in the halls of Congress when the four CEO's of four, the biggest tech companies in the World Amazon and apple and facebook and Google were required to testify before Congress, and while there they were put in the position of having to defend their companies against claims that they've just become too big that they've become gigantic to the detriment of the general public that they are using their market power crush competition that they're driven by nothing but their own prophets that they're amassing huge amounts of data and that basically they're running afoul of antitrust laws. Some people are calling this big tex big tobacco moment, which is a callback to the nineteen ninety s when seven. CEOS of Big Tobacco companies all had to appear before Congress, and be accused of doing bad things to the public but is this fair in this case? Are these companies really doing bad things because of their size are they really too big and are you the consumer losing out because they've become big or are you actually benefiting because of the size of these firms? So we think in these questions, we have the makings of debate and that's what. We're going to do, but we're going to do it a little bit differently from our normal approach. Today, we're going to be hosting this conversation in a format that we call a to disagree, and that's where we streamline things a little bit. Go to the news we find the dividing lines, and then we bring you what we do best a debate in the form of a conversation between just two debaters not our usual to against to instead we're one on one and instead of having a resolution, we're really going with a question and the question this time is. Should Washington break up big tech should Washington break up big tech I'm here with two debaters who are GONNA be arguing yes or no to that question Zephyr teach out and Andrew McAfee. So I Zephyr you've debated with us before on stage and I just want to say welcome back to intelligence squared. So excited to be back on. Thank you for having me for such an important discussion. It's a pleasure and for folks who don't know you are a law professor, you're an activist. And as it happens, you came out with a book, this July, the title of which break them up recovering our freedom from big big tech and big money. So which side of the debater you're going to be on again today I definitely think we need to be breaking up these big tech behemoths and hence your book. Okay. Now arguing against your position arguing no on the. Question of whether Washington should break attack. I. WanNa Welcome Andrew McAfee Andrew we've we've been wanting to get you into one of our debates for a long time. We are delighted to have you joining us for this one and all it took was a global pandemic right. Thank you for having us. It's a pleasure and for folks who don't know you also are a bestselling author. You're a principal research scientist at MIT. You're also the CO founder and Co Director of the initiative on the digital economy. So once again, welcome to intelligence squared. So the way that this format will go we'll go in four rounds, the first round Each of the debaters will be making a brief opening remarks about their position on the the question before us and then We will have you know along and lengthy back and forth discussion. Towards. The end we're GONNA go to our third round, which will be where each gets to put a the toughest question they can to their opponent, and then a fourth round will be closing remarks and wrapping things up. So there's a lot to discuss a lot to argue here and we're GONNA start with our opening rounds. That's where each get two minutes to make the case in their position on the question would should Washington break-up big tech? So our first debater will teach out who will be arguing? Yes. On the question of whether Washington, should break up big tax Zephyr. The floor is yours. We are in a moment of a genuine crisis and our democracy, and so I want to start with some first principles. The principles of equality and freedom. Central Job of democracy and government. is to. INSERVICE of those goals, protecting citizens from any group or any person wielding too much power from abuses of excessive private power from private governor Mench basically arising out of the corporate form Anti monopoly antitrust is a deep and powerful American tradition was at the heart of the American revolution. Think about the tea party protests the great anti monopolist of our country include ebd boys who saw. How monopoly power was used to crush lack political power after the civil war and Franklin Delano Roosevelt who is arguably the greatest trust buster this country's ever seen and nineteen forty to nine eighty. We lead the world anti monopoly using antitrust campaign finance laws, public utility regulation, labor laws, and other tools to ensure that no private company had too much power but since nineteen eighty, when Reagan, tour down. Anti monopoly laws and their spirits. Democrats, and Republicans alike have failed and instead embraced a policy of radical concentration and the result is the world we live in now.

MLB commissioner confident league will get through season

"What happened with the Marlins in Philadelphia was just a reminder of how fragile this season is. So here we are. Three games in there's a crisis in Major League Baseball is trying to stage a season in the middle of an escalating prices. We both agree. If it expands, you've got to stop in a country that obviously hasn't been able to corral Corona virus. Any little. One thing consent this season spiraling. It doesn't look good. But MLB commissioner Rob Manfred telling our Karl Ravech there is no reason to quit. Now we are playing, he said. The players need to be better. And I am not a quitter. In general. Manford confident his sport can get through the regular season and postseason without being stopped because he also cautions that there's a chance that not every team might play all 60 games as winning percentage could be used. To determine playoff teams. It's time for straight talk brought to you by straight talk Wireless buster, only ESPN MLB Insider on Darien, Mel, There was really discouragement, you know, after what happened the Marlins last weekend Jeff Passan reporting about the frank conversation between Rob Manfred and Tony Clark. That happened yesterday. And then the news this morning that more cardinals tested positive the dominoes keep falling in the wrong direction. I just did, SportsCenter said. You know if Major League Baseball is a boxer, they just keep taking body blows. And it's some point. Yeah, it's just going to become too much. You think Keith Overman just report a little while ago that MLB is reached out to their broadcast partners and basically told him you need to prepare alternate programming for the week ahead, So yeah, very discouraging, and I got to tell you there's there's a lot of frustration at the team level with people feeling like that, while for the most part There are a lot of players trying to make it work front office is trying to make it work that in some cases that behavior just did not change in a way that was going to best protect all the players. They thought it was a Hail Mary All along, you know the thought was is that there could be some positive tests. And if there was that there could be some isolation. But for example, the major league Baseball testing has been every other day. Well, what happens if a player is infected? The day after he gets tested, and then he's around his teammates. The lag in the test results, which Sean do little. The national spoke to right off the bat where there was concerned that you know with the results just don't come back fast enough to do the isolation in the contact tracing that would be necessary to hold it down Those air reasons why, at the outset of this thing, there was a lot of skepticism that they could actually make it

"Just. Okay at one two three boom. Nice I'm still got it. This is why you go. US to some shows when when when wedding We have to literally music and visuals when something? Technical doesn't work so. Lights Lights One. Oh, yeah, absolutely I mean that's we should. Actually we could talk about that in a second. Yes it's it's a funny thing. I was thinking about your guys career just in general, and you know from when you started performing up until now just so much of the the not not the music, but the actual production of the show has changed. You know the level of the festivals the technical level the just how much money is going into the whole thing. It's Kinda Wild I. Wonder if that was was that an adjustment period for you guys, or was it just sort of gradually? You ramped up your show at a match it. Exactly that was a gradual thing, right? I remember even apart from bad back when we started. Obviously, we didn't even have a manager for years. Right, Bussey. It was like everything Wednesday buster another than we played shows even think of visuals than we created also visual loop for like remember. What was it like? Twenty five thirty minute loop? Yeah. Yeah Yeah, and it just runs in the background, right? Slightly at the beginning what manager? What's what's visual loop? It was not a DJ showed the DJ when we started was placed somewhere in the corner right, and then like some of the big room. KLOPP's eventually with the DJ a little more visual 'cause it start into. Hey, people are looking for that special guy, or they're coming for to guy and then. On on. I remember that when some shows in Holland I think were the first ones where we saw an anti club. All facing the DJ before. Dancing everywhere all over the place. and. It was so interesting. That was new doing those the early two thousands that we had total new kind of conduct dance culture. It was like people were into collapsed there were you the bar and dancing, and now it's like when when we play a show. Every single face in our in our direction, so thinking about it, yeah, it's actually a total different way of going out and partying and enjoy the night. Yeah, it's really interesting. I started DJ in the late nineties, and so I was right on the tail end. You know when I started when I started going to events and all that it was very much the old days that you're talking about where it was dark you. You couldn't really see anything I didn't know where the DJ was, and then kind of right at right at the end of the nineties when I first started getting my first real show as when that switch happened, and it was really weird. I wasn't expecting it for you guys. Was that something you? You know in the early days where you comfortable with that. Did you feel like performers? You want to be on stage. were. Just mentioning the one word, a DJ turned more into a performer these days. It's more occur forms as some people come more for the event performance than eventually for Dha Music which still? Meal, wrapping it up in what what I say now still Farrah's The music is always the center and should be key over tension, and that will always be what's most important for us, but of course these that you cannot you cannot just you know. Look on your players at a not interact at all with the crowd. You can't do this these days. Maybe, I can speak for the two of us we. We grew into that where we're never the guys that search for every Kendra. Oh, we gotta jump in. but yeah we. We grew into the situation with comfy with it now it's it's fun. And when when the crowd is so much energy to to cheer back into It's awesome that. Really emotional at driving and so it wasn't it was we. We grew insulin and wait. We really enjoyed. Now may be boring to still do just the cool Dj Noah you right so. It's nice to see when they all face. You also especially back then because. The production was as Baker, was still about the music, but there was still facing. You just felt like they really care about the music they really. WanNa hear new music and expect you to surprise them and it was. Good to see all this attention than it made us also better DJ septic.

"And I think that a lot of people around baseball will will say family I? And I think it's important that we. Know, we actually put that into action by by throwing all of our support and making these decisions. Even easier for players because. they know that they have the support of the leadership in the organization. I would add to that and You know obviously yeah I, mean I agree I think it was kind of an an an obvious and easy call for buster, and I think the fact that he took some time to think it through shows, his dedication and loyalty to his teammates, and how much he loves, the game in loves to play, but more broadly. We talked about this as an individual decision and so. You know I don't even think it's fair to create some standards like you know. If you have an X. situation in terms of your family dynamic at home, you know that warrants opting out. I mean I think we have to support every individual's decision. from a player staffs in line. I mean I would add you know I'm really encouraged by the environment that we've created at the Ballpark You know the the Operations Group. Everybody in the organization has has done an incredible job creating an environment that you know we feel safe I. Know Mlb just released some numbers on the really low positive rates on tests done. Post intake, and that speaks to the environments that you know been created around the league in credit to the players and staff that are that are being really careful with everything, but. as we've alluded to, you know beyond the health environment in terms of you know limiting or completely eliminating infections. There is a mental health aspect to this. I mean there. There is a higher level of anxiety than they normally be i. think with each passing day. People get increasingly comfortable because there is a new normal and there's been a lot of. Of positivity in our camp, but that's something that we have to be mindful of as well and gave spoke to it just keeping the lines of communication open supporting our players. Our coaches are staffed. Guys in the clubhouse making them feel heard as we go through. All of this I think is going to be vital to keeping things going and keeping everyone safe. Question and you Bagheri Andrew high on. You mentioned I think on the radio yesterday. That buster may not be the only player with young families in in the boat of trying to decide whether to play or not obviously, you have to make preparation the season Do you have some clarity on that or do you expect? Other players may decide to opt out I kind of made that comment generically. It wasn't kind of in reference to anybody else's situation, if I, said it that way I misspoke so wasn't kind speaking specifically to anybody else's. Okay. Thanks for clarifying. Okay well. That looks like that's all the questions in the queue so that will conclude today's media ability and thank you again. Everyone for profit on his morning. Thanks for joining us on the giant Splash podcast Henry Shulman and I will continue providing you podcast as we approached the scheduled twenty twenty season. So long everybody!.

"First offshot to the genius that decided to bring the company Cough Conference to Chicago in the dead of winter. That's a whole another read a whole time. The only silver lining I thought was that Illinois had just legalize it for recreational use January. First while I'm out here freezing my ass off and listening to these the White People Aurora which he put in quotes. I'm sorry I could at least be high off some quality. Bud Ed while doing it right wrong I consulted we'd maps instead offer the closest dispensary on the list. Fifteen dollar live ride later. I was informed that the dispensary was only open for medical use and when not open for recreational until Friday. It's Monday bitch. That won't do which his if any would believe. Recreational should be taking place on Monday when people needed them right. I would think so weird. But maybe maybe they need to get their license or something homo thinking okay. This establishment is clearly not ready for prime time. I looked up the next closest spot that had billboards boards around town advertising recreational so surely they must be prepared to serve the people wrong again four security guards outside but it took only one to tell me they were also also shut down for a recreational buyers and I should come back in the morning to stand in line when they opened at nine. Am I return in hand Stan online for one hour and fifteen minutes get. I'm I'm thinking to myself as I'm reading this like how high would I really WANNA be would go go through all of this our fifteen minutes. I mean the differences that those shows are like really good but again just. Because I don't like Tyler Perry's. Like of course I rise by people being like I'll do this by myself that it you know what I mean and again you give context makes it clearer for someone like myself as being confused by what you were talking. "I don't even want to see it and I felt the same way with that play last night about Simmons in part because you just hate looking at somebody in agony. But the other thing, too, is you just heartbroken for the guy. Right. He's such a good player, and you're right BUSTER, whenever I hear, he rolled an ankle, I refuse to watch it under any circumstances because on my tiny little level. I've done that a couple of times it's pain is immeasurable. It's so bad. And if you roll it badly enough BUSTER, you're going to be out a month if it's black and blue all the way around that ankle, it's going to be a while before he's able to play. Now I hope it's not that bad for him. But he's also such a good guy BUSTER. I was at the Orioles. The other day when the angels were in and Amerson Simmons walked by a heading towards the batting cage, and I just casually said, hey, you doing. He said, good. Just trying to figure out that hitting thing again. That's. It's what he called it, it was beautiful at every hitter, the big leagues knows exactly what he's talking about even though to ninety one at the time and had done some pretty good things. He called it that hitting thing he has to go figure it out again in the cage because he lost it for a moment. That's how hard hitting is. That's how much that guy cares. And now it appears the angels going to be out without him for awhile. And that's the. Loss for them as they started to make a little move in stand. And before we go, I want to give you some advice, it probably comes too late. I don't know if you notice this or heard about this team but I'm the reigning champion of the president's race because a likeness of me wind up winning a relay in the president's race. And of course, I thought a you, and when you ran in the sausage race in Milwaukee just a, a piece of advice, if you get that offer again, let somebody else, run the race in a costume with your name on it. Tim. Yeah, I BUSTER. I'm well aware that your head won the race. Okay. And you don't have to mind me. I will never get in one of those costumes. Again, I told you the story overnight, I tried on the hot dog costume. The KAI was reading the thing told me, you know, this is built for a big people to run in these and you're not very big don't be like there was about that. So I run the worst race ever. And I don't know though this part I walked in the clubhouse after the game as Ron porter. Now. Because I covered the game Kyle Loesch announces to the entire brewers clubhouse there. He is the worst hotdog racer of all time. That's how I get announced when I walked into the club house. And then I go to the truck afterwards to, you know, to say hi to everyone after the game. And we're having a post game meal and we're having sausage from the sausage race. It was. My entire life. I hope it never happens again. Yeah. And I had the greatest night of my life because I won the president's rates Tim. That's how it goes down in the record books. Right. I won it was awesome..

"No, you only have the Phillies at high could you love recess gins home run trot gave me a chance to win on that big Hoskins guy. He's been on the show. A couple times always been fantastic's rooting for him to do something. Big last night. He didn't disappoint with the hit or with the trot. Well-done terese. I've got the Mariners eight I've got the Diamondbacks at nine and I've got the Indians intended, by the way, just a reminder son in baseball Astros Indians that my number one team, I number ten teen Cincinnati gender their BUSTER. I don't know. From where I had the dodgers. I have them at nine this morning when I put the list together, I actually had the Mets at ten, but the conversation that you and Dave had about the Padres convince me to put them at ten move the Mets down to eleven. So the Padres the last team in my power ten rankings. So you have a notice what the Diamondbacks are doing even have the Diamondbacks. I note I can notice them all I want because I notice him. I mean, I have to put him in the rankings BUSTER. Yeah. The one that surprised me a little bit for you. I was wondering if he put the Yankees is highest six because I I think I would apply the same question about the Yankees that it would the Mariners. Do we really believe that there is high as we have them on our list to be totally honest. I was debating the six was the lowest. I was going to put them I was debating like I I wrote them in at four and then move them down a couple of spots. Now. I do think later in the year when they get everybody back. But right now, it's six I just can't see it there. They certainly belong in the top ten in the power ten. No question. About it's just a matter. How high you have them, and we both have met sick. So for once we actually grant some Bleacher tweets. Jim Meisner gets us kicked off today BUSTER at Jim Meisner eighty seven with Ladd junior making his major league debut on Friday. Who's the best family of players in baseball? Is it a father son duo like the Griffey's or the Ripken's or a set of brothers like the damange ios or the Peris? Yeah. The Griffey's are imposing because of the production. They put up by the players, right? Ken Griffey, senior was an excellent outfielder for the for the Cincinnati Reds from longtime junior courses in the hall of fame. Callum Billy, tremendous the demise ios tremendous. But the Royal family in baseball. There's no doubt about this the boons. Yeah..
