"Encoding to the moment of decision. Maybe you can describe that much better than I just butchered it. Yeah, the subspace coding is really interesting development and it's something that we're starting to look at. Tim bushman has done some excellent work on subspace coding really elegant stuff. In one study he has the animal pay attention to a stimulus ignore another one in one condition. That's visual attention. And a working memory task where you give the animal two stimuli in the middle of working memory, you say you can forget one, it's got one of those. And what he shows is that the cortex goes in his different subspaces, one for relevant stimuli, and one for your relevance to parks things in the relevant subspace domain when you don't need to pay attention. It doesn't get rid of the because you know this. Who knows what's going to happen in the future. You may need it again. But the brain sort of parks it in this subspace. And it's a recent paper which found mind-blowing. It's a bio archive.

"Pull a Green Day, then Green Day through American idiot on Broadway. That was actually a show though. It did show. It was a show, right? Did they play in it though? Or is that just a tribute to the album? Did the album? And then they went ahead and I think that was probably what put them over the top of the Iraq War and all the things because who has a unique concept to do a Broadway show based on their album. And I think I even give them credit for that. I fucking hate Green Day as everybody knows that listens to the show. So they're in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yeah. You know, they had one. You know what, you're a fucking great bike. Penalty box. What was in the penalty box? 30 seconds roughing for roughing the host. Green Day are the best phenomenal fucking band in the world. You're the penalty box too. Now I'm on the show alone. Now I'm here by myself, Lou has 7 seconds, 6, 5, four, three, two, open the penalty box store. Lose back. You know, wait, wait. I asked if in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I had no idea. I guess they are, you know, and I'm giving Mark a double minor. He's getting 60 seconds. I know what he's trying to do. He's trying to get these kind of stuff. They had one big album. All right, Mark, you're back in the game. I can't breathe in this penalty box. 9-1-1. Oh, hey. No, Lou, that was my big thing. I'm like, how the hell did they get in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame before? The cure. Charlie Simon. Yeah, yeah. And kiss, they're gonna be for a lot of bands. Wow. I was like, one album, one album. Dookie. Remember dookie was the big album. I hate that name. Was that the breakthrough, that was amazing. That was like 95, I think, 90 something like that. 94, 94, I think? Yeah. But on July 17th, there was a rebirth of a pretty fucking great song because of the Netflix, just blockbuster, Stranger Things. It said, season four, I think it was. Season three season one. Kate Bush's running up that hill blasted to number one again. And I'll tell you what, and I had followed that. And that is a great song. She's a very unique artist. I either like her songs or I don't, you know, I'm not like gonna lie and be like, I'm a big Kate bushman. I've listened to her albums or CDs or whatever, I play this. Either like the songs or I don't. She's kind of like that. She's very eclectic. She's a very independent artist, independent woman. She had a rare, the rare opportunity to call her own shots in the studio and write her own music and produce her own music. They saw her and I forget who it was that. You know who it was? "Infection rates high. As we hear from Michael Sullivan in this story that first aired on morning edition, many overseas Americans are desperate for the U. S government to help them Thailand has vaccinated less than 2% of its population. Even his infection rates this month have reached new highs, and that scares many Americans living here who are desperate to get jabbed. President Biden made a very public announcement that all Americans would have access to vaccines and overseas. There are literally hundreds of thousands of Americans who do not have access to vaccines right now, and we're thinking What are we chopped liver? That's Paul, Grisly Chairman of Democrats abroad Piland He says he's happy the U. S government took the lead and finding vaccines He just wants Americans abroad included, And on this point, there is rare bipartisan agreement here in Thailand anyway, Look, I'm 100% behind our common push to get Americans vaccinated. By the embassy. Tony Rodriguez lives in Bangkok and his vice president for Republicans Overseas Asia. I'm sure a lot of you realize that it's a bit difficult, sometimes for Democrats. The Republicans work together, but I thought this was a great opportunity to do something together, and we're all Americans. Last month, they sent a letter to Secretary of State Tony Blinken. Asking the Thailand become a pilot program for vaccinating U. S. Citizens abroad, for whom a 16 hour flight home is too daunting. Too dangerous or too expensive. Little grisly. I have two small Children, 10 and seven. We would all have to go together. We would have to be tested several times, We would probably have to find a place to stay for four weeks. While we're getting vaccines, Number one and number two. Then on their turn to Thailand, we would have to spend two weeks in mandatory hotel quarantine. Well, then, he says, even if the family managed to stay with relatives, it had cost them at least $10,000.6 to 7 weeks minimum. Tony Rodriguez of Republicans overseas I'm 60, and a lot of my friends are in their sixties and their seventies, even their eighties and I'm very concerned about them as well. Not all of them have the wherewithal to fly home. And they have really very limited options. But some have gotten very creative in finding a hack. My name is Reuben el such men. I'm originally from New York and worked in finance in Wall Street for about almost 20 years. Bushman lives in Bangkok and at the end of April with cases they're spiking. He flew to the closest U. S soil he could find. On the Pacific island of Guam, where he had his choice of US vaccines. You could get any of them. There's plenty of supply here. He chose Fizer and while he did have to quarantine on arrival in Guam He says the U. S government paid for it. So for two weeks Nice hotel on the beach, Full Internet whole food. Three meals a day will do your laundry and it's 100% free, and it's a lot closer and a lot cheaper than flying all the way back to the states. He'll still have to quarantine for two weeks on arrival in Thailand. But the issue is on the White House's radar here's press Secretary Jen Psaki last week. We have not historically provided private health care for Americans living overseas, so that remains our policy. But I don't have anything to predict in terms of what may be ahead. Americans here in Thailand hope it's change. After.

"An animal that is a very colorful bird. Hello, And of course, it's a talker. It's a parrot, a member of the Citizen family. This is a double yellow head parrot. And the name, of course, comes from the beautiful coloring. The parents are from Central and South America as far as Panama and down south. No doctor. Why do we have this parrot in the cage today? The reason it's in the cage because I didn't want to prove to people that parents can fly. A long time ago, when the earth was green. It was Maura Kane's of animals. And you've never seen they run a rodent free where the art was being born with the loveliest of them all. Was you in that car. It was green alligators alone. Making the deal with you on a Sunday afternoon and WGN. I'm honored to call this gentleman of Longtime friend of mine celebrating a very special day, just around the corner. I will not sing to you, Dr Fisher, because I don't want to do that. To you. Dr Lester Fisher, former director of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. However, I will say and, by the way, friends if you want to say Happy birthday 312981 72 100. You have a memory you can text or you can call Dr Fisher. Happy birthday. Thank you very much. The This is a very exciting time to hear your voice and know that my birthday's coming up number 100, So let me start here. What is the secret to your in reasonably good health? What's the secret to this? Well, except for my eyes and my legs. I'm in pretty good shape. Mabel of function. And I guess the secret is just good food. Good genes and good luck. Yeah, well, it s so the secret is not playing with gorillas. Which you did plenty of it some point in time, and I want to reminisce a little bit. So how did you become director of the Lincoln Park Zoo in the first place? I think Your predecessor was a well known zoo director Marlin Perkins, who later went on to do mutual of Omaha as wild Kingdom. How did that come to be? Well, it came to be because one time after I came home from the Army, I was at Northwestern Medical School, which is on the near north side of Chicago. And while I was there, Ocasion Aly, there'd be a phone call from Marlin. There was no zoo doctor, and he did ask me if I could help. And so because of the proximity and the fact that I made time for it, I became without realizing it a part time Sue Dr Well, and you eventually became director of the zoo. How did that happen? Well after I took care of the health of the animals for 15 years, while I have a small animal hospital practice out in the western suburbs. Marlon told me one time that he's gonna be leaving and going back to ST Louis, where he started his career, and I sort of thought to myself well, it's kind of an interesting switcheroo. And for several months, I debated about the fact that I had an interest in the zoo and I perhaps should look into the possibility of applying to be director and my family and I talked about it as some lanes and find me. I put in an application. And at that time, Mr Mixed Patridge, the famous labor leader in Chicago, was head of the park Board, Park district and I told him that I had an interest and next thing I knew one time on my weekly visits to the zoo. I was asked to go to his office there and alone. The only said that Fisher, you are now are new zoo director and I saw Wow, That's really an incredible thing. And from then on, I had an office in the Monkey House, and we can part two Yeah. You can honestly say you worked with monkeys and you literally meant it. I remember Last time I spoke to you. I explained to you that I had just interviewed Betty White and Betty White is now 99. You're about to be 100. I know that both of you are friends. So I believe you're the only person on the planet who could walk up the Betty White and say, how you doing, kid? Uh, I can't tell you cute story about Betty. One time when she was in Chicago. Whenever she came, we get together if possible, and she came over to my apartment, which is cross speech from the zoo at that time and She's had dinner with me, and after we had a lovely dinner, I said Betty, I'd like you to come with me, she said. Where? And I said that the bedroom and she said, That's the best offer I've had in a long time. And my wife, Wendy, Was collecting Raggedy Ann Dolls, and I said, Baby when he would like you to have one of these doubts, and she said, Do you really mean that? I said, of course, and so she picked out of down, set down and started crying and said, This is the first time I've had a raggedy for many, many years, and so That's kind of Ah, pleasant, fun story of our relationship That is so nice. That's so sweet 312981 72 100. Lots of text coming in that simply say happy birthday, but one that says Gorillas simply, that's all it says Gorillas. So let's go through some of the guerrillas legendary in Chicago, I suppose we start with Sinbad is my memory, right? Well, we go back further than that. We go toe Bushman. All right? Yes. OK, You see it in bad, and Bushman was a legendary character in the gorilla world of the entire world. And when he was a youngster, he was slated to go to New York to the zoo there, and for whatever reason, I have no recollection. They didn't take the so called sale of him and he ended up here in Chicago. He was one year old and Bushman grew to be a physically incredible character. He was £550. Strong, well, hilt and, uh, so he grew up and lived in Chicago, and he became sort of a trademark of the city. There were two famous gorillas at that time in the United States. And he was the one in Chicago and Gargantua was the gorilla and the Ringling Brothers Circus. And so these two are Often incredible..

This is truly a beautiful beautiful beautiful location guys. It's known for its beaches. It's mountains, it's Jose Jimenez that are full the wildlife. It's definitely a must-visit location. If you need a place to stay well, why not look into the office in Nottingham Road Hotel just on Old Main Road legend has it that there have been establishments on this site since 1851. Before that's a long time. There was a not he's in or Tavern situated here that provided a hang out spot for soldiers who were stationed at nearby Fort Nottingham. The soldiers they were brought in for one mission in particular and that was to protect the local farmers from the thieving Bushman who were coming around and stealing their livestock. Apparently it become a real problem in these men did absolutely whatever they could to put an end to it. The overall location at this establishment, but it was ideal. It was actually able to cater to the mini horse-drawn carriages that passed through the area. This was a long before way would even be thought about the First Recording. Thanks about the hotel. We know today indicate that the land for the noughties as locals like to affectionately call. It was bought by a George Irwin around 1889 following the deaths of landowner James Ellis and his sister Jani-King the land being sold by the facts to pay off the siblings the States. What was the price received for that land a whopping sum of 125 pounds per acre. Wow. This was actually mean pretty steep for the time. My guess. It has that it had something to do with the favorable Loco. chicken I mean we have to stop and look at the fact that it's pretty much at a Crossroads where the road to the interior leads to the road that takes you straight to Fort Nottingham door window. He went on to a ranked what he called the Railway Hotel to serve the station that was built at the tiny Nottingham Road settlement. Local farmer and settler George Smith. Yes, Smith s m y bhe he writes in his diary July 12th 1882 off. The railway has it lasts commenced and there is a large staff of men on gallery busy putting a buildings in beginning the Earthworks. The station is to be just at the cross the road for Nottingham about two miles from straight turn. The railway line finally reached out to him Road at the end of 1885. The station was initially called Harrison's Camp after the contractor prior to the station's opening before being called Clark Lewis station. However, the name was changed to Nottingham Road station in 1887 as the locals decided that it was too far from karkloof to be so named previously Littleton was the last stop the real we changed the lives of the Midland settlers forever. There was a daily postal system and almost anything they needed could now be ordered from Durban or. It's Burg produce from the area could be quickly sent to the city centers for sale and travel between the coast and the interior was a matter of hours rather than weeks or days the railway also led to the development of the Midlands as a viable area for settlement that my opinion is always a great thing. The Railway Hotel was built by a mr. Morgan and was completed at the beginning of 1891 and it soon became the center of social activity at Nottingham Road. A gracious two-story building was set and rolling Lawns the hotel offered guess the Comforts of proper lighting package tennis courts and a Billiards room as well as activities such as shooting and horseback riding at the turn of the century another family took over the the last name Singleton. They would go on to run the business as they saw fit. But Nottingham Road Hotel was always the local favorite haunt weather for a social drink in the pub or for supposedly more serious matters such as meetings of the Dead Nottingham Road Farmers Association. Apparently, the farmers will often only survived home safely because they're faithful horses knew the way back to their Stables off the the system works smoothly until a prankster swapped the horses between the different traps and cards. So that drunken farmers were taken off in completely different directions often the locals would decide to stay over at the hotel especially at the weather was bad. One such farmer a Christopher groom was trying to reach the hotel to Shelter From a storm. He was unable to reach it in time and was unfortunately struck by a bolt of lightning just down side right where the first tennis courts were located in his dead horse were actually discovered some time later when the storm had passed over the bridge just man quite unaware of his narrow escape a hole was found straight through his saddle and it showed where that bolt of lightning had struck. Like all hotels or the history the Nottingham Road hotel is reputed to be haunted. Of course right in the past two guests and staff have reported that the spirit of a woman roams the hotel especially room 10:00 and it's ground this house proud gentle ghosts. Apparently. She was flower arrangements Tiny's away clothes and straightens wedding Legend has it that she is Charlotte a beautiful prostitute who frequent in the hotel catering were soldiers from the 45th regiment in the latter part of the nineteenth Century, her story says that she fell in love with a regular at the hotel a soldier a handsome man ended up having to leave Charlotte at one point to go off and fight in the Bushman Wars. Unfortunately, he was killed on the fields of battle and birth. Made it back to his beloved Charlotte upon hearing the news took to the balcony of her room and was so stricken with grief that she threw herself to her deathbed. Send story right? I'd say that so pretty it's pretty good reason to come back as a ghost. She's not the only one that lurks around in the darkness though God. Oh, no as it would turn out Charlotte. She's just the one who likes to appear the most. Today not he's is one of the Midlands more popular hotels.
