"We all know that there's a good deal of political polarization in America, and it's often deplored as a bad thing. Wouldn't it be great if Americans could come together, but what is the way to respond to the polarization? Well, it turns out that there's a group of people and one or two in the democratic side and two or three on the Republican side. And they've decided that the solution is a new party. A third party, a centrist party that they call the forward political party. Well, it's kind of a weird name, first of all. And it sounds a little socialist to me. Doesn't like it, she goes, it sounds well, I mean, forward sounds a little bit like progressive. It sounds a little bit like, but I suppose what they would say is we're trying to find a way forward out of the polarization. Now, who's involved Andrew Yang now Andrew Yang is the tech nerd who ran for office. I think he ran for New York. And then he ran for mayor in 2021. And then he said, that's it. I'm out of the Democratic Party. Now that by itself is a good thing, but evidently Yang thinks that there is space for a new party and he's joined by some Republicans, although these are kind of has been former, old, establishment type of Republicans who are part of the, you know, the George H. W. Bush administration or the George W. Bush administration, so there is one guy who was part of the Trump administration, miles Taylor, a former Homeland Security official. And then David jolly, a former Republican congressman, a Christine Todd Whitman, a former Republican governor. Notice a common theme here, it's former. These are basically people who have lost office, can't really gain much traction, it seems like time has passed them by. They have no real constituency. So I think they kind of feel like if you put a bunch of losers together, you might get a winner by loser plus loser, plus loser equals winner, but generally loser plus loser plus loser equals three losers.

Look, Americans have to wake up and realize that what's happening here is extremely serious. And you know, I don't see how you get back to normal any time within our lifetimes. I mean, what you're doing by criminalizing dissent by criminalizing the other side by using the power of government against the other side is you're starting a cycle in which both sides are going to have to do the same thing in order to keep up with each other in order to stay afloat in order to stay alive. And this is a desire for a one party state. And what you have to think is, if you were responsible, a responsible political leader, even if you were on the left, you would realize that by criminalizing dissent by trying to criminally prosecute your political opponents, you are, this is the height of irresponsibility. You are going to throw the country into a divide, a debate, a conflict that escalates.

And the way the media has responded is a new line of attack that you can see in kind of the smart coordinated circles, the people that are considered to be smarter than not. However, they are all kind of coordinating their attacks around Christian nationalism, play cut 94. Over the last few weeks, since I had the honor, this term of writing, I think, the only Supreme Court decision in the history of that institution that has been lambasted by a cold string of foreign leaders. Who felt perfectly fine commenting on American law. One of these was former prime minister Boris Johnson. But he paid the price, Matt kind of mocking Boris Johnson there, Sam Alito, who I think is the best thing George W. Bush ever gave us, probably my favorite member of the court. They're attacking him as being a Christian nationalist. What do they mean by that, Matt? Well, in their minds, of course, they think Christian nationalism is a smear. They think both of those words are bad. And if you put them together, it's too bad things. And that's one big bad thing, and it's a scary monster, which I think in their minds means something like handmaid's tale and enforced Christian religion. They think it's racist too, somehow they seem to only regard whites as Christians, interesting. But white people who are Christian controlling the country and shoving their views down everyone else's throat is what they mean by it. And the hilarious thing here is that neither of those words are bad and when you put them together, you actually get what I think millions of people throughout the country think is normal.

Second thing is apparently his bloggers wrote some really just horrific things, not just miss frijoles, which is bad enough, cotton picking, liar, okay? Princess pozole, I don't know what that is, but anyway, miss menudo, which if you are Hispanic, Mexican, you know what a menu though is. It's one of those little pots with, it's kind of like Creole food, but it's for the, you know, our people. And then goes on to say things like, does Florida's want Trump to come and take her. You know, I mean, I can't even so I want to say it. According to a sex log. Yes. Yes. And then, and then she isn't even in the bush leagues unless she doesn't shave her. I mean, just horrible.

So bear with me through this last bathroom day. I just saw that Paula Abdul, the great Paula Abdul, turned 60 years old the other day. And that makes me think of the time when she and I were talking quite a bit and we've actually went on a date, actually. I was 1999 or 2000 somewhere around there. You know, she was a huge hit on American Idol and I used to see her in the gang at my favorite restaurant back then in West Hollywood, I go after the show was done taping, Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell, Ryan Seacrest, and Paula Abdul and all head to the restaurant. Simon was already, you know, Simon was always pulling chicks on his lap. Ryan Randy were always avoiding chicks. Which I found weird. Or illuminating, and Paul was kind of like a little lost at the table in the middle of all that stuff. And one night my agent told me that actually my manager told me he was handling her for a little bit and I asked him, you know, look, can you ask her if I can call her? And she was a bit coy, eventually she gave up her number to my manager to call for me to call her. And this is before she was accused of all sorts of crazy shit, you know, drugs, et cetera. And I think that I think that, you know, the fact that Nancy was critical of Barbara Bush. And critical of the bushes, and she called them the shrubs. Instead of the bush. You know, that kind of criticism reminded Barbara of her childhood. It triggered her and they had 8 years of complexity, which I wrote about in the book. And but I'm a big fan of Nancy Reagan's, but you know what, I'm a big fan of all first ladies.
