Rep. Eric Burlison: What We're Hearing About Border Towns
"Did you congressman, I know that you guys were talking to the rank and file border patrol. And these guys are just heroes in my book. Were you able to talk to the folks who live and work in the border towns and if so, what are they telling you? For them, the loss of services, for example, most of them have given up on the fact that they can get healthcare at their local hospital. You're talking about American citizens. Yeah, American citizens who are paying taxes to their state government can't even get access to the hospital that's down the road from them. And that's just tragic that we basically have these hospitals that are there to serve the population south of it, not to serve us, or serve the citizens there. It's a policy. So just imagine, and that's just one aspect of imagine all the other services. And I will say this, people, if you like the environment, you care about the environment, just don't look at the border. It will discuss you how much trash clothing and everything is littered across every inch of the southern border because when they cross the Rio Grande, they dump everything. They'll change their clothes, they'll leave their clothes. They will leave bags. I mean, it is literally littered with trash all up and down every inch of the border.

"Henry today. San Antonio, Texas 6 16 Jeffries and don prior. That is true, and you went 51283605 90. So a Texas mother of three who was married to a border patrol agents is imploring Joe Biden to close the border. Alison Anderson on Fox just a few minutes ago. Talks about her family's property has been overrun by human smugglers for eight straight months, and she's also very worried about the unvaccinated illegal immigrants flowing across the border. Obviously, my concerns are safety. What we're seeing is we're overwhelmed with illegal immigrants that are coming through our property or neighborhood or community. When I received word that there were Last. I heard it was somewhere close to 2000 yesterday. Illegal immigrants down under the bridge is the corner entry. Um I mean, it's concerning, especially with Covid right now, um Our healthcare workers are completely overwhelmed as it is, and I'm just I didn't know who to contact and we are just trying to find You know? Are we trying to get our safety back? To be honest, I would say 100%. It's a Biden administration's fault. He needs to do something. It's it's hypocritical, um, to sit here and mandate vaccines. Against citizens. At the same time, the border is completely wide open, and there's literally thousands of illegal immigrants pouring over the border here right now, many that are infected with either covid and or have been exposed to covid or symptomatic to code. It. And they're being released into our communities. I have never heard of anyone being vaccinated. I've actually heard where illegals have the option to deny the vaccine. Meanwhile, the president would like to mandate that against citizens as far as where they're being taken. Oftentimes it's wherever their final destination is, is where they're being taken. Yeah. There you go. Bad, shocking stories, man. People dealing with this. We've been talking about this for a while, obviously, And every time I hear these personal stories like from her, it just all comes back. It's like what the hell is going on 6 18, and you can jump in at 51283605 90. It makes no sense. Other than getting voters. Yeah, Beyond that. You got me. Let's give them some business. Check this out. Travis County Commissioners Court is set to disclose allocating $110 million in the American Rescue Plan Act, the R P a at least once to address homelessness and affordability, affordable housing. It's out of 37 it, says Travis County set to allocate about $247 million local fiscal recovery funds through Arba. The money can be used to address public health needs, including affordable housing and strategies to re house people quotes that are experiencing homelessness. According to the state or story here on K View, and multiple organizations have requested portions of these funds to assist with the project cost and the total request in the request. You know, folks required receiving money is about 100 and 10. The foundation communities, mobile loaves and fishes community. First they're asking for $50 million to help create the Burlison Village. It's a supportive housing committee for approximately 700 residents, okay? That's well, that's that's pretty lofty Go seven and the residents that's not going to dent in the problem. Right There it is. It is, And I think mobile loaves and fishes has a pretty good reputation. When I hear them mentioned in the story. I'm paying attention. $50 million is a lot of money. Yeah, now another $50 million was requested by the Travis County Supportive Housing Collaborative in these funds would go towards developing new, affordable housing communities all across Travis County to house 1000 new residents. I haven't heard of that organization. Uh, the other one is called the other ones Foundation. They've progressed it $3 million to assist in developing camp Esperanza, the tiny home community with the goal of re housing 475 people. They only need $3 million to do that. Uh, And we've actually had some officials from that organization call our show. The foundation community also needs 6.5 million to, uh complete the Juniper Creek apartments, which will be made up of 145 affordable units for formerly homeless families with Children. Overall, the 110 if approved what would cover about two fund about 2000 new units. In April, local leaders set a goal of re housing 3000 people experiencing homelessness over the next three years. Summit to address the unsheltered homelessness in Austin. Yeah. Well, this would be an incredibly helpful um, Of course. The goal is to have a roof over these people's heads. So that takes homes obviously, but But what's more important or what programs are going to support this be around it, uh, to prevent these people from becoming homeless again and helping them work into working members of society when and when I do hear mobile loaves and fishes and partially involved here than you have my attention. Well, there's several groups that requesting money and I'd like to, you know A little bit more about the others in their track record. What is the What will be seen as a success? Because I mean, you know, if you're gonna hand over this kind of money, one of the taxpayer is going to get in return. And, you know, how are we going to judge that and calculate that because here's what I've learned about a lot of these little organizations to ask for 500,000 or a million dollars, you know, in the scheme of things they asked for, you know pennies instead of dollars, but still a lot of money. But typically there these they're these organizations that basically get really close to certain City Council members, and they create these organizations where they they're doing nonprofit stuff. But really, what they're doing is they're pushing a political agenda for that specific council member. In other words they made the council may throw up. Quarter of a million dollars at a group that has, you know 10, 15 employees and really, what they do is block walk for that for that candidate and kind of talking about their you know their whatever nonprofit program, the third part of and there's I don't know. There's probably 50 60. Maybe 100 little organizations like that that the City Council has helped prop up and and the reason I bring this up is what has been the return on our investment. Have we gotten what we expect out of handing over the money over these past many years, and that's why we need some sort of full audit on this front. A full audit of every department. I mean, would that be nice? It would be nice, and we voted on that a couple of years ago and and, uh, scream. We screamed loudly that we thought there should be in course they thought we were wrong on that deal. Check this out. Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee are trying to wrap up the proposal for the $2.9 trillion tax hikes. Which would mean the largest increase in decades. In order to help pay for higher spending. Their reconciliation package is all according to the political. The Wall Street Journal reported that the proposal is expected to include raising the corporate tax rate. To 26.5% from 21% in enacting a 3% points surtax on individual income about $5 million House Democrats are also thinking about boosting the minimum tax on foreign income of US companies to 16.5% from 10.5%, as well as raising the top capital gains tax rate to 28.8% from 23.8%. It's one of the top states for attracting company. A proposal from the House Ways and Means Committee would increase the corporate tax rate to as much as 26, a half percent up from the 21% rate. Currently, in effect, tax rates for the wealthiest earners would also go up. The child tax credit offering up to $3600 per child would be extended. As with programs incentivizing affordable housing. Democrats are trying to include the provision in a wide ranging reconciliation package. That will need near unanimous support from within their party. Already, West Virginia Senator Joe.

If a city government employee does not wear a mask indoors, and they are unvaccinated there, unfortunately, will have to be consequences because we have to take seriously if someone's unvaccinated Unfortunately, they pose a threat to themselves, but they also have a greater chance of spreading the disease. All right, that's New York's de Blasio. How did we end up with all these empty headed liberals in elected positions? I'll tell you why. And you're It's not nice. We end up with empty headed politicians in elected positions because we've got so many empty headed Americans that didn't know the right hand from their left, and they're electing them into these positions. CNN's medical contributor. Dr Leana Wen is arguing We need a tangible form of national vaccination proof. That can't be fact not a driver's license type thing. Not a credit card type thing, And I'm thinking to myself Well, what? What? What else is there? You know, we've gone from Let me see your papers to let me see your wrist. And you have the Jewish faith. Know what? I'm talking about? A very good friend who was Jewish. We've been friends for 30 Year 20 years, I guess 25. In his parents were Holocaust survivors, both of them. Uh, have tattoos on their wrist that they got their death camps and I'm thinking to myself. What is this doctor talking about? You know, you will have to have this kind of proof, she says to do business to travel to see friends and family. Um, go out and meet. Uh, she's saying, that's the only way to get everybody to do it. I'm thinking to myself. Wait a minute. This is a familiar story. I've heard it before. Jeannie and Burlison Genie. How are you doing? I'm great. Good to talk to you again. Hey, I've been listening for a long time here. I agree with everything the men said, you know, under the new subject about the chip and the mark of the beast. Um, I'll tell you this and you may already know this but as far back as 2000 and nine and you know what was going on in 2000 and nine we had Obama Bam! Coming in. And so we had those of us who were studying and forming the tea party and doing such as that working as activists knew that they were trying. They were thinking about the chip and the mark of the beast. That's what people were saying. That's going to be the mark of the beast. If they put a chip in it, That's what that is and back see, and I didn't get as far as I wanted to. Because We stopped Obama. From what? He was literally going to take us down. But far as we would have to be taken down, I think to where we're totally dependent, Um, country. I mean, you know the government to feed us and everything before we would let a chip be put in us. And you know, that's where that's coming up union on it Well in the tea party was very I did a lot of speaking engagements up and down the West Coast for the tea party, myself and Darryl license and a few others. But Um, you know, if if it's a good call, Jeannie. Thank you. If it's a situation where you can't buy, you can't sell. You can't travel. You can't I mean, it would shut you down economically. You can't buy food. You can't go in the store. You can't go to a restaurant. You can't tremble at all. You've got to say this doctor says, um, you know, you would have to have a proof a national vaccine. Form of identification before you can even see friends and family. I don't know how they would enforce that. But you know, they've done some pretty stupid things. I would think they could probably do that, too. I'm guessing that most of you whether you believe in God or whether you don't if you don't you might try it. But if you don't I'm guessing even you would say no, No, thanks. I don't need to be chipped like my dog is Thanks, but no thanks. Ron and Garland Run. How you doing? Good afternoon. Rick, are you I'm good. How are you doing? Doing pretty good. Uh, I was telling you your screen and want to go, Bill. Uh, 2016. I had a stroke. So, um, I had already conferred with my doctor anyway, about taking any kind of a shot, he said. If you don't feel comfortable, don't do it. And because he said, uh, the health that you've had other than the stroke. Um, you know, everything was fine, but I don't trust this government for nothing. I mean, you don't know what they're putting in these shots. You just don't. I mean, they told us the first neck course I said I haven't had anything. And they told us everybody and and everybody's scrambling. They don't know if they're coming or going. Well, These these first two shots didn't work for some reason, And now they want to give you this booster, you know, and It's just got everybody's messed up, and I do believe in the market based if you read in revelation it talks about the market the beast. And I mean, if they're playing is simple. I don't know when the end times or you know, everybody knows Summit in times. Only not even the Angels in heaven, though, when the end times our Lord and savior Jesus Christ is the only one that knows when when it's all going to come down. But you know, as far as is trust in the government and in in the market, the base Yeah, I believe in it. I really do. And I think this has something to do with it. Run. I appreciate the call nothing but positive thoughts on your health. Um, that can be it can be tough man. I've been there. Thank you, Ron, Cecil and row at sea. So how are you doing? I'm doing all right. Uh, I was just telling my wife you know, if they really, really, really want to force something like this down our throats, then insist they do the same thing for voting or back off. Uh, you know, if we can do it for vaccinations, we can do it for voting. That's Yeah, This is my body. Well, no, You're absolutely on point C so because a lot of times things don't get done not because we can't do them, but because there's no political will on one side or the other of the aisle to get it done. Just like securing the Southern border. I mean, we can. We can put a man on the moon, but we can't secure the Southern border. Give me a break. There's no political will or wasn't Up until Trump. And once again we have returned to that You scratch my back. I'll scratch yours. Um there's no political will under this current administration to secure the southern border. Bruce and Denison. Bruce, How are you doing? Correct. Thank you for taking the call. First.

By a drug recognition officer and I just as I would give anything to have my brother back every day. It is a real Stark reality when I go to his oldest son's graduation from Texas Tech When his youngest daughter who my husband taught to drive because my brother is no longer here to do that, I want to say from the bottom of my heart. My husband is a former police officer and trained Drug recognition expert. Thank you, Dallas PD. Thank you to all of our law enforcement officers who are getting just the shaft. Every which way to Sunday. Thank you for stopping someone that you believed was impaired because heaven forbid, should she have been in an accident and taken another life or that of her grandson. Please think twice. Please. You people who have friends that have had too much to drink. Please. Please take their keys. Do not let them get in an automobile. That is a killing machine to somebody who is impaired. And I'm sorry with Colonel Allen West. His reaction. You're right. It is. Strange and you know what we have to all be big enough to allow him to come forward and apologize if the situation warrants Which he should if this goes the other way, But, Chris, you're right on the money. I think what I picked up on yesterday with Travis Keys Post game interview. Reporter mentioned that Maggie was not happy with the results of the fourth and one play and Travis Keys. Response was the play call did not Appear to be right now. Do you take that as Travis Ki kind of throwing Maggie under the bus a little bit publicly, and is that relationship fractured? Beyond repaired. Do tow. Nagy not Handling Robiskie, right. Travis Gabby's unhappy unhappy with the situation. How do you guys see that? I mean, the reports inside the room are that they have appreciate your call that they have a very good relationship. I think it's It's not passive aggressive, but it's getting there. And here's why. We've heard this several times when Travis que saying, Here's what I would like to do with the offense isn't that every week, But just when the Bears are in dire straits, that's what it kind of comes out where he's not angry because his face never changes like Travis que face different. His eyes never changed One. The good guy work. You just Yeah, Well, of course he did. You have to be on that team. You got to be the good guy Got all the choice. Losing your ass off. Correct. You better be a good guy. You better right? So he is every now and then, just like you know what I want to be able to move the pocket. I want to be able to see down the field a little bit more. Utilize some of our strength a little bit more, but it's never forceful. It's a matter of fact. Introduce keys right course he's going to be able to produce those results. What you could ask whatever you want. Ask whatever you want offensively, but you gotta be able to produce and there's times two down the stretch, and he has So your face is a good Packer team. But you know, it's funny with Maggie, though it's never It's never over the top on Mitch. He's never wrote bad on Mitch. He'll never be that guy. Clearly, he'd rather differ and just pretend like someone else's calling plays so he doesn't get the heat or whatever, but it's never a dividing line between the two cents Now he's been here with Travis Key, Correct.
