"Front doors. And you know what? I just hate this sea of fire. Go on in there because of the fire is And I mean, because the generators and the barbecue and then all those people are locked in there with those padlocks boil, boy, That would be a mess. But the fire department stopped by with the Burbank's finest. The police Department and Burbank fire and police. Just wanna make sure that the local fire ordinance and the maximum capacity isn't isn't being exceeded. And so he like the Burbank fire departments not in on the lawsuit. They don't They don't really have a dog in the fight, and they probably have an opinion. But they're not expressing it. They just came to see if if tin Horn flats Was cooperating with the local fire. You know, rules and everybody has to or the fire department could shut you down in a heartbeat. You have way too many people in the fire department shut you down because they don't want You know, a bar to catch on fire and 30 people die. That's not the fire department will try to prevent that with any means that they can So the fire department shows up the fire Captain doesn't look like Captain. Maybe it was goes into tin horn flats on the side because the front doors have been padlocked and he goes in with the police officer from Burbank Police. And then they come out and you can over here them in this sort of side chat that they were having. This guy from the very, very popular W Why s I w Why HGTV got the audio and here's the audio. What happened about an hour and a half? Maybe two hours ago. Here it is. This'll fire captain, saying I just want to make sure they're in compliance. They're.

"So you've got a wood screw somewhere in the house and you try to tighten and you realize you can't because all the wood underneath is all stripped out to take out the screw. Cover the end of a chopstick in would glimpse. Shove it in the hole. Let it dry. Break it off and put the screw back in. Good. Isn't home with Dean Sharp the house whisper on case if I am 6 40 Stimulating talk 40 ratio. Well, I was up in Oregon, um, mid July, mid July or so. There was a ah lady that lives fairly close to us. Her name is Marjorie. And we came home one day and the fire department was at her house, and she's probably in her seventies in mid seventies, maybe late seventies and anytime the fire department Is that somebody's house in their seventies. You always think the worst, like Oh, my God. She fell down. Maybe she had a heart attack. Something happened, so we went over there and she's just standing there. And there's two firemen in her house. City. Okay? Yeah. Why? Well, it's fireman here. And she said, Oh, no. They're here to change my smoke detectors. Oh, I said, yeah. In the state of Oregon. You can call 911. Or you know the Fire Department non emergency line and they'll come out and change up your fault. Your smoke detectors. That's kind of cool, right? Because look If you want somebody Who's really going to test them out and put him in the best position possible in your house. I think that's the crew to do it. But I can't imagine. I mean, if you call the fire department, would they come out and do that? I don't know. I wouldn't even think about it. But maybe that maybe it's possible maybe they would try calling Burbank Fire Department. Say we get him out and put new smoke detectors in my house. Probably like The F Is this Why you calling us What's wrong with you? But if that is possible, I mean, I don't know. Maybe Khun you know somebody from l. A fire Department of Bourbon. Culver City Fire call us up or or email us. It's the or Texas whatever or or I don't know, do something, but Is that part of the service in Southern California when you need your, you know, smoke detectors changed out Is that something that you guys will come out and do for people? Perhaps our older or maybe they're handicapped and they can't you know, get on the ladder and change about yourself. Possible, right? Something to think about something. Think about it. All right, Bryan suits coming on at seven o'clock, which is pretty cool, and we'll chat with him about what's going on around the world and What's going on with his show night thing, Dawn. Alright then we also have this is interesting here. Our pets away to keep them safe and healthy during this pan down because you don't want your dog to die of covert right and they can catch it. They can actually catch it now, Dr Raker, Sherry says. And I read this online. You cannot catch it from mosquito. So if you get a mosquito bite you thinking of covert because of mosquito bite, and it's nothing to do with it. All right here. Let's get into how you can protect those pets now is around the time that we would normally bring you our weekly peck segment with our friends from Animal Care, said is New York City, Obviously not coming.

"Right now and then I have infinity right might run out of them and then they also might charge for in the future and I you might find yourself you know in a rent a car somewhere where all the stations in your new town wherever you're visiting sock and then you didn't download the app you like all hell it and download the app to do it now it's the I heart radio up it's pretty cool it's free so a got a huge accident out on olive right now is being covered by a couple of by local live television stations here yeah we were in the news from her all kinds of sirens Orli copters were like okay it run but I I squirrel into work I'm like a cockroach all survive anything and so I I know about seven or eight different ways to get to work I would live a mile and a half less than a mile and a half a mile a third the radio station a bit of one of those ways was today's olive it would have been tough I get calls from cops and firemen and traffic guys if there's ever a you know between five thirty and six if anyone of my route to snuffed I get a call from cops in Burbank fire department Burbank and also true local traffic guys made guide me around we don't have to tell the whole story but it was like when Whitman got the got the waves are at a Hollywood Bowl suspect I didn't go along with this side with this radio show all right this is a this is serious it serious deal here we got a lot to get services there is hats and three yeah one what I do is that cosco shooting right and the family is died now wanting answers we cover that live here are that it would happen during our program out off the ten freeway for the six name free when I think of the sixteen corona yeah was that right what were it was angel angel now she's all into your it was off the ninety one okay yes what would I do one at McKinley met yes McKinley McKinley all right well we have we cover that live and that what that was a big deal because people went screaming out of that store because they heard gunshots right and that was before you know el Paso and before Dayton and before the garlic festival you know everybody's all flipped out now whenever you know there's a panic in a mall happen over the weekend on Sunday it happened at to tango plaza Westfield out there into panga it was a smashing grab but somebody said shots fired and all of a sudden everybody in the mall ran for the exits or ran for storage rooms in some of the shoe stores and stayed there for about an hour until the cops came and clear the place out but everybody freaks out I about a week and a half ago I was at the Burbank town center they don't leave five Burbank unless I'm I have two worlds I'm paid to do it and I was at the Burbank town center and I'm eating lunch I probably something fancy right I don't know maybe I've but is that day bill Tucker that it was an advance Anne's pretzel now it was that the the Chinese food panda express express right boy so I'm I'm eating the panda express and panda express it should be you should it should be it illegal to just get one item right you need to get two items at panda express so you get at least one right could you got to sift through you gotta get two items a panda express so you're no you're going to get at least one specifically the orange chicken if you get a couple of servings of orange chicken you're guaranteed to get at least enough chicken for one survey thing right everybody gets the orange chicken now always how he now I knew what I say I'm a pain in the **** I said the lady can I get the orange chicken but I got this the of the of the pieces were you think there's chicken and then did you say what do you mean like add that my just loaded up it's all going down the same way anyway they but Bender eads bad panda express and needs the you know eats the check in there because it's I I guess it's vegan I don't think it's realistic I think the orange chicken is vegan I I have not yet it's all it's all breading yeah it's all it's George breading this is also impaired yeah we do love panda express but I am a sucker for pain express it smells so good when you walk in there they give you free samples the the other food is always nice and hot and fresh I love it I love it I make fun of it anyway so I'm sitting there in the mall here's the point and the fire alarm goes off and everybody stands up calmly and nobody panicked nobody ran but every single person every single person I noticed this looked towards the entrance of the ball to see if there was a gun men coming not we were worried about the fire we were worried about the earthquake every single person eating lunch at that food court at the Burbank mall looked exit look exactly the same way I did the entrance of the mall is he the guy was coming through there with the gun and which way we should run isn't that amazing we live in a society nowadays where when the smoke alarm goes off the fire alarm goes off we're not worry about earthquake a fire worry about some a hole with a gun coming into a mall and wiping us out that has happened at to paying a mall was it yeah on Sunday yeah and I we we don't talk about on Sunday they had a smashing grab where a guy you know took a bunch of five hi and purses and people thought it was you know shots fired so they literally were people running and panicking because you know the bank a mall to bang applause is a very safe area you know the paying by police station out there think it's station twenty one they do a great job patrolling you know I have that that mall an excellent job out there until it's a pretty safe place and it's safe enough where parents feel comfortable you know dropping off their thirteen or fourteen year old kids to walk around for three or four hours by themselves and then all of a sudden they hear shots fired at the mall and they panic like crazy imagine the panic you'll go into I mean if you're god for bid you left your daughter at some mall with their friends and then all of a sudden you heard shots fired at that mall you go crazy and if the cops stop using on a we're we're either were so you're pretty can't get the near the mall after that I'm driving right over you Bob I'm getting my kid and you go right around the cops right over the counter every did to try to get to the mall to to save your your your daughter or son of their friends but kind of a weird society that we live and where now the number one fear and it's not even a realistic one because there are very few people to get killed I in mass shootings right but look if it does happen it's a huge disaster that your family may never overcome you know for generations it's that big of a deal right and it affects family and friends and coworkers and acquaintances and teachers and and not you know and so on and so on and so it's a big deal if it happens by the chance of you getting shot and killed in a mall are pretty slim yet we all are worried about it look we're all worried about dying in earthquake and the chance of you dying between nineteen ninety four and two thousand four in an earthquake we're almost zero two people died in California in an earthquake between the Northridge quake and two thousand four two people in the state of California died too right aw guy and another guy two people that means between nineteen ninety four in two thousand for that twenty year period you have the same chance of being killed by O. J. Simpson M. as you did of dying in an earthquake in California yeah when you went to bed unit locked the window saying aw Jeez hope OJ doesn't get me could you be like a loaded tec yeah we have the we have a crazy fear about being shot to being dot dying in earthquake that's really really a not really just five by the stats arts Conway we're gonna live on camp I AM six forty live everywhere on the I heart radio app and a former Google engineers.

"Fairly important yes was Clinton Johnny can and are talking with the homeless issue every damn and they are they are absolutely correct the city of Los Angeles is mismanaging at and it's not a housing problem it's a bigger problem than that and people are dying it's gonna get worse and the plague is going to get worse there's going to be a epidemic maybe a pandemic and this can be thousands of people dying in less they fix the homeless problem in Los Angeles I saw today was in Burbank today and there's a guy sitting in his own urine outside of a liquor store and I was across the street and I saw Burbank's fine is pull up and talk with them for awhile and then they called an ambulance ambulance showed up with the fire fire engine and then another cop car pulled up and the guy was under some duress I don't know what it was maybe is a on a whatever happened something happened to it but now there's six firemen or cops all trying to get this guy into a an ambulance they can get in some help and he's resisting and it's a mess out there I'll bet ninety of it eighty percent of what the Burbank fire department deals with this homeless people on the street and you know all those tax dollars that they don't contribute to our being eaten up by people are homeless and this is going to be a major problem the rat problem is huge in San Fernando Valley it's big in Burbank it's big in Sherman oaks Tarzana the San Fernando Valley people don't talk about this much has billions of rats and nobody does anything about it do they still talk about a rat problem in New York City I think they do right but not to the extent that he has to well no it's it's as LA taken over no Burke that I'm Elise the Manhattan rat problem used to be under control and now it's back even worse than ever because of the home well yeah because I always am the trash and that just the tremendous amount of waste and trash every single day is L. A. used to laugh at New York because of its rat problem right not realizing that certain policies and decisions was basically allowing for the same thing to happen here well yeah you're right and it and it a lot of it is the you know the homeless problem and you know other than John can and Dr drew nobody is talking about the real problem you must die yeah how many must die before you to drop the housing hoax and start dealing with this we have a thousand so far in two thousand nineteen is it twelve hundred is it ten thousand how many must die before you stop the rhetoric stop the hoax and start dealing with the problem how many must die you don't have to answer questions of doctor that was Dr drew with Greg on fox nation with a homeless crisis in California hitting a breaking point health experts have been issuing dire warnings and an alarming new report saying the rise in homelessness is feeling a dangerous rat infestation in Los Angeles and other major cities across the state and this is a big deal this rat problem is going to get worse some of these experts are now demanding the governor stopping on the problem and declare a public health emergency quite passionate about this and he's a physician I wake up every day looking at this and it leaves my patients on the street I know who they are treated this population for years and it is ridiculous that they're calling it a home like housing problem it is ridiculous the rap thing I saw that coming eighteen months ago I predicted the typhus epidemic it hit in his amongst us now the problem is there are things that follow typhus given that they've done nothing for this rat population there are other illnesses that will follow we have to break it loose is exploding we will see your senior which you may know was playing with this is he's talking about this within miles of where we're speaking right now he's not talking about you know some third world nation it's seven thousand miles away by you know an eighteen hour flight this is literally we if we went to the top of his building we could see where he's talking about yeah if those mountains weren't there and Dodgers stadium was in there we could see where he was talking about and we went on a tower of taller building we could see over that hill and city workers if you move those mountains are going to see where he's talking about yeah it it's a lot of people are driving right now in Los Angeles they can look and they can see downtown in through the a rear view mirror or the windshield and they concede that's where this is have you don't even have to go downtown you could go to Hollywood just pop pop over all of it turns into a bar on the new slide down Coalinga and that's rare and there are sections there over passes we talked about this in in Culver city but they're over passes were both side walks on either side mondo I sound like a lunatic when you keep plan that either side is just packed there is no visible side walk under either over the other side of the overpass that's right please that's every day that's right you have to do every time I don't know he's got he's got a a a a he picks up a sound bite that's right he just keeps hidden hidden it Oct unless you over do it it's I know but it and eight I sound like a lunatic when he's doing that what do you think you place it maybe around is that now after Blatter exploding we will see Arsenio which you may know was playing yeah flag we're gonna get plug we have a dental measles we have people their excrement and they're bleeding and urinating in the street every day I wash directly with Ellie river and guess why all of the dolphins and the whales are washing up on the beaches that's right right that's right because we have sixty thousand people almost the size of Burbank they are not connected to the sewer system and that means all that feces is going right out in the ocean well is is right out in the ocean hello then every time we talk about this and I've always meant to ask where does that come from where I can okay I I'd love to find out I don't know somebody out I emailed the other day I just caught it at some point one twenty years I don't know where that where that's from because you've said that every time ever since I started with higher do you have your being here that goes back to the old station right does but I have no idea where it's from I know it's from like a movie or TV show or something you know what knowing you knowing you at some point it is some stand up comedian yeah some TV show they just said it once and it caught you in twenty five years later it's still there it's probably not that I've finished comedian no longer okay yeah but the good they wasn't around twenty years ago that's right sixty thousand people's excrement is getting into the river into the ocean every day that a city of sixty thousand people it was disconnected from the sewage treatment plant my god the environmentalists would have would freak out where are the environmentalists on this issue on the homeless issue that's right where are they.

"This neighbor and having to make very xactly. It's tough so crazy out there. Christmas is mostly residential in here that these all apartments on the street, and it dead ends. Well, actually, they can cut back up to Glenochil boulevard. We drive around in those heavy news vans. And there are certain rose where we are not allowed to go. Because of the weight, I am had Leo has an update update with Sharon. Bellio. We now go to the chase desk with our own. Sharon bellio. Bellio. What are you know? Paramedics have now arrived swats on seen both sides of the five freeway. Still completely shut down. They haven't seen any movement from the suspect in the vehicle after shots were fired by please please have cars turned off standing on freeway watching. I see now the fire department. That's probably Burbank. Fire department out there, probably stationed thirteen is the closest out there. And so they're on the freeway. They're ready to assist this guy. It looks like they set up a little side area toward the slow lane. And then the paramedics and those fire trucks are not even ten feet from there. So maybe they're going to move it over and potentially. Yeah. And that freeway an area that whole freeway with the new off-ramps there at at the Burbank empire center scheduled to open up in two months. But yet they're using those brand new off ramps that they've never used before to take some of the congestion off that freeway, so that they also have this. They also have police tape one side there. There must be something where that police tape is that's evidence of what happened and the paramedics just move from the car pole side to the slow lane. I don't. They're just setting up a area to my guests. Will this stuff off this band is no longer with us, and they're setting up a? Some kind of a death investigation here. That's my exiting cars off the freeway at the new empire off ramp. And they're that ramp is completed yet. But that's where they're getting the cars off of the freeway. All right. I'm sorta jealous that they can use that offramp before it's open and yet I go through that area, and I can never use that offramp. That's my takeaway from tonight. About me. What about you right now? It is right now. Let's try to change our focus. Okay. All right. Let's Tim Lynn is up over the incident here. Let's see if he's talking back to produces a KTLA. He is flying over the incident and has a much tighter view of it because it's.

"Has been in radio for eleven years and still can't figure out you gotta talk to Mike. I love the Rams now he's he's actually he's not allowed to talk into the mic. How he's not know that we have to pay him union. Scale. That's a deal. Right. We had to dump that. Bellio. Your Rams fam-. Yeah. Now, you're now you're Broncos fan. Now. Are you? Yeah. Who's your favorite player? A player in the history of the ram Eric Dickerson. No. Greg the leg leg. What's his last name? Is there a line? Yeah. Your favorite player now. When the history of the Rams who's your favorite player? Eric dickerson. Okay. Other there. Eric dickerson. Dr. All right. We'll take it anyway angel. You're Rams fan. Right. Yeah. Days to work out over at UC Irvine when I went to school with. With the rats, right? Love. The Rams have been going since Roman Gabriel. So all you youngsters. All right. Let's talk to Petros from the Petros and money show, Petros Papadakis. How are you, sir? With these Rams. Yeah. Most of the country is pretty upset about the no call. Yeah. That's how people in LA. Right. Because there's a bandwagon for us to jump on. As you could see there's not a lot of people that remember the Roman Gabriel's and the Patty Chevy Charles white. So the Greg bells. Oh, yeah. I mean, look I go back to Jack Youngblood. Jack, snow roaming Gabriel the whole run the fearsome foursome Merlin Olsen. Fred dryer hunter. Yeah. He threw people off of buildings in Burbank than anybody in the world. I love the Rams and I love watching him win yesterday. And yeah, it was a tainted game because the call. But you know, what I've been the victim of some calls is well in my professional life, my personal life and my sports life as well. Why would call it a trade your day because there's nothing that the Rams check do if the guy got beat. He knows he got being to prevent a touchdown. He makes contact before the ball shows out. They don't throw the flag. That's not his fault. No kidding. That that pointed out we were just talking about it on the air back. Look these Rams they they had to overcome adversity. They had to do a lot more to win the game. After that all the states have their opportunities to right? And that's the way it played out. But just as a football man, that's about the toughest thing. I've ever seen a football team have to overcome. What was put before the saints after that play? But the Rams deserve it. They're in the position to win the Super Bowl. They put themselves in a position to get there. Young quarterback throws year off down the stretch. They were fabulous. And they've had a great year. So congratulations at all the vote has vowed baron ally. I got a perfect topic for you for tomorrow. For your sports show. And it's a four hour topic with callers involved because I was watching the New England game yesterday, and I got home from WalMart. So I'm watching it into lame about an hour and fifteen minutes behind the actual game and about maybe an hour before the game ends. My wife comes in and says, hey, if we have a Super Bowl party, you know, your sister is going to be rooting for the patriots. Oh, and I said, oh, well, I didn't know the patriots were in the Super Bowl. And she goes. Oh, no. I don't think they are. I mean. They're they may be. But I don't know if there are there's no way out you cut back pedal out. No, there's no way that I look it went into overtime with a fantastic ending. And I didn't get to experience that. But here's the topic. You're watching a game and delay. How did somebody in your house F that up for you? And and not AT and T would have to come put the phones out with a fire extinguisher and the Burbank. Fire department. Bigger topic here ten at it's part of the reason why there's going to be that multi billion dollar stadium built get a couple of years in Inglewood that. We're all going to be talking about right five sports in the Dave DVR live sports moves. The Beadle commercial people will watch the commercials because they want to Boyd the horrible fate. The value.

"That thought I have to throw up and I threw up. And I felt great though, very very hard lot vomit. But I felt good stood up out of the chase important to the story. Very import felt good walked into the studio started recording. And you would come to check on us. Right after you walked out. I got the brilliant idea. I said, hey, I would like Mason to start recording with you, your son my son. I want him to record a spider verse nerd Rama review. Cool. I walked out of the studio. I call down the hall to Mason. Said his name twice thought. He was ignoring me thought he may be had this headset on and next thing. I know I'm looking up at Bryan suits. You're in the hallway in the hallway. The last thing. I remember was calling my son. And waking up and seeing Brian suits standing over me. Asking me. Do. I know where I am do. I know the date, and I don't think I gave them the right information right after that he said call nine one we ran to my office and said we need to call subjects effective. We need to call nine one one you had blacked out you in the middle of the hallway. And at this point everyone from the different studios running down, the blessings saving grace was we have finished the live programming which was done out of the students are the studio was dark. So those people were available to you. Yes. We immediately called nine one one Burbank. Fire. Let me just say thank you Burbank. Fire department. Bless you first responders. Thank you came. They did all the blood pressure win over your medications, and I need to give everyone this setup for the story. So they know you're having problem with your your blood pressure, your balance and all that and. It is almost a it was a carry over from a previous issue had with do Monja. Yes. And because you are double organ transplant recipient, you have immunosuppressive drugs that you have to take which also makes it very difficult for you to fight off flew in Monja, those other things. Oh, and he goes so deep all this is important. So if you're listening right now, just stay with me. You're you're you asked to be taken to your your primary care physician at cedars. Yes. You get there. You're driven there. What did they tell you? When you get there. They told me that my blood count. They said this has nothing to do with your because I went in there like now, this is the blood pressure issue in this. They said, no, sir. The internal bleeding you had suffered after to recount after the pneumonia. And I was released from the hospital a week and a half almost maybe two weeks later, I was readmitted for internal bleeding, which was stopped. The returnable bleeding had returned my blood count had fallen into four put that in lay person's terms. The average individuals say who may be suffering from a blood related issue Lubis or or or or sickle cell, or or maybe even you know, anemia who who suffers from low blood count should only really go to seven at four. You almost have no blood going through your body. In other words, you're almost sixty aided because it's not producing any oxygen at all my body completely shut down. Nine. I think nine was the final count of blood transfusions that I had to have. While hospitalized for the past week and a half. This is this is like, you know, day one really out of the hospital. Mo- why are you talking about this? It's a it's a tremendous story. Here's the big the the obvious. The headline of all this. You're supposed to die here last Sunday. And I'm not putting any extras on it. I if you had stayed any longer you probably would have died because your blood count would have continued to diminish if you all were not here because typically you all you head out every and I'm usually staying here Sunday night just stuff on myself in your office in the back. Why are you talking about this? No, well, other than the obvious. The new law hospitals are going to list procedure prices. So, you know. And we're going to have a very honest at uncomfortable conversation about what that means. And we wanted to give you some background of what to Wallace sharp had gone through in the past week and each day in the hospital, and I know some of this Twala you getting blood transfusion, blood transfusions and also blood drawn. Yeah. You get 'em. Are is getting CAT scans stopped me when I'm wrong. No had one two procedures. Yeah. Indus industries? Yep. An Oscar de at a double balloon endoscopy on top of that. I'm not talking about earlier in the year. We had a stent put in. I'm not talking about any of that. No. I'm not talking about the subsequent medications now that you are paying for. We're gonna talk about that in the next segment, and hopefully, you will understand not only when they start publicizing and posting the prices of some of this stuff, not only will you have a better understanding of the real cost of this. You'll understand the fundamental fundamental importance of adequate healthcare not cut rate healthcare, but adequate healthcare, and what that looks like this. "Gerry, shannon. Theory. Our state of emergency has been declared in Los Angeles County and Ventura County also up in Butte county in northern California in the one o'clock hour, we're going to spend some time talking more about the camp fire that is burned in paradise and absolutely destroyed. Most of that town, multiple deaths we know of at least five and the death toll. Unfortunately, he's probably going to go up there in paradox. We have some new numbers with this beast working its way through Ventura County and out into Malibu fourteen thousand acres now at least zero percent containment. Chris ancarlo has been covering the fire for us and joins us. Now. Chris. Well, the news isn't any better. Right. I mean, the winds are continuing to how they're supposed to subside sometime around three o'clock. But even when they subside the challenges that without win. They're still fuel. Right. The wind's not the fuel. And the problem with the fuel issue is that everything basically west of decker road and to the south of Mulholland is just sure on burnt fuel. It has burned there. I talked to a firefighter hasn't burned there according to him in any recorded time. So they've got all of this stuff that basically just sitting there ready to go up and the low moisture contents that we've been talking about those exist, even as you get coastal you do get that onshore flow that sometimes helps with the moisture, but the droughts just been so severe it's not doing what it's supposed to be doing. And so the combination of the wind and the combination of the dry conditions, and now the combination of this old growth plant life is just an absolutely. Perfect nightmare for for firefighters. Can you give us an idea since we're over here? I mean, we we don't get to see the airshow of aircraft fighting a fire is it busy in the sky or the conditions too. Strong for them to have a a real aggressive attack. You know, it's I haven't seen a lot of the attack mainly because I've been skirting the north and west of this fire so much throughout this morning. And I'm and I it's just it's challenging to work back down to the south or to the eastern front of this fire from where I'm at and from what I understand a lot of the emphasis for the air attack is going to be on structure protection. Specifically on a lot of these structures in Malibu that are in the teeth of this fire is pushing on down. We've got now reports of of fire inside Al canyon. We've got reports that it's jumped over decker road by jumping over decker road. Malibu springs has been hit hard. We've got reports of of structures lost in Malibu springs. We've got also reports that that's spotting is pushing the fire all the way down toward Leia. Correal you've got all that open wilderness there before you even get to the beach. And so as far as the aircraft to get back to your question. Gary, the they're they're going to be focusing on that front of the fire. Which is why I specifically haven't seen any we do know that they're putting fixed wings up. They've put out a request for every very large air tanker that they can get their hands on. Of course, the fixed wing aircraft conventional a plane for people to think about whether it's a jet or propeller engine, and that's going to drop retardant, the helicopters, the Hilo, the wurley birds, whatever you wanna call them are going to be dropping water. And so that that aspect of the attack is going to be on the the active fire front as it moves toward the Pacific. We often talk about the flanks of a fire and what I can ascertain from just looking at the fire map on the television. Is it just seems like there's so many massive spot. Fires here that it's not just you know, the eastern flank or the western flank is just several different huge spot. Fires. Well, the spot fires are problematic. Because a of course, it spreads the fire. But be it demands resources be shifted from a cohesive fire line onto the stop these spot. Fires. And so in my news hit just a few minutes ago when I was in the backyard of this guy's house. It was a place that theoretically shouldn't have been dealing with a fire. The adjacent hill had burned the night before there was nothing really left to burn and one of the homes ended up spotting because of an amber that was carrying God knows how long I mean, these things can carry up to like two miles dropped into this person's home and next thing, you know, the home goes up, and and the trees around the home go up, and then the whole neighborhood is endangered, and it was made even more complicated. By the fact, that you have other homes, you know, some people really do a great job of taking care of their yards. Some people don't and there was this yard adjacent to this guy's house. That was just full of overgrown. Growth, and he was panicking over the fact that you know, you had none of this brush clearance, and he's doing whatever he can't just spray down with with this flimsy, hose, doing whatever he can to spray it down while this fire is advancing. His wife's on the other side of the yard. She's spraying everything down the kids are running back and forth getting ready to evacuate, and you know, none of that had to happen if the neighbor had cleared the brush out of their yard. And so that's what we see all the way up until the Burbank. Fire department rolls in and know, they've got the heavy duty hoses. Therein, backyard's all up and down that street, and now they're in structure protection mode, and it's made more complicated again because just a few neighbors didn't clear their brush, that's kind of a cautionary tale. But it also illustrates how the these things happen. You mentioned Burbank. Fire getting involved when all of this making their way out there have you seen agencies from other parts of the state as well. I have not seen anybody from up north. I have only seen Los Angeles County. Los Angeles city has some Orange County firefighters up here those Burbank. Firefighters I I assume that there are other agencies within southern California. The the problem is and you heard that Andrews report is that because of this other big fire that's up north in a couple of other fires again, we find ourselves stretch. Then I sound like a broken record here. That's exactly where we were almost a year ago when the Thomas fire sparked because the winds aren't just limited to southern California. Sometimes we ended up with wins all over California, and in this particular week, it seems like it's going to be the week where we're we're dealing with a a widespread situation of a fire all over California just real quick in my conversation with firefighters one thing that I found interesting that I wanted to share is that even when the winds subside, the winds aren't necessarily a horrid. Enemy because they can often focus the firefight. Right. So if you've got winds blowing in one direction, even if they're blowing fast in one direction at the very least you have one direction one corridor to focus on the problem is that as those winds received because you've got these flashy fuels. And then you've got these ladder fuels. And then you've got these heavy fuels. What happens is the fire line kinda spills out in all directions. And then what complicates this is in a couple of days, or, you know, forty eight hours not even when the flow of wins reverse. Now, suddenly you've got a onshore flow instead of an offshore flow. And as the winds pick back up coming onshore, and we talked about this during the Thomas fire now, you end up in up in this kind of breathing phase, whereas the land sucks, the air in the fire is going to move in different directions than it was previously and anything that had not been burned on the left around the right to the east or to the west is now susceptible to being burned. And it complicates the firefight. Because those lines ended up expanding which means you need more personnel. The problem is guys. We don't have the personnel. Yeah. All right. Thanks San Carlo. Appreciate it up next. The the fire went from where Chris is jumped the one oh one headed out towards Malibu. That's where we will find Corbin Carson when we come back. Gary and Shannon. We'll continue our fire coverage right after an update from testing what's up. Here is the latest on the fires burning in southern California. Now, it's the state of California six major fires in total fire officials characterized three of those including the one in LA and Ventura counties as critical a state of emergency has also been declared in view county, that's enor- cow due to a wildfire there that is estimated to be moving at a rate of almost eighty football fields a minute that fire near Chico has turned fatal five people have been found dead in their cars the fire quadrupled in size overnight. It has now burned more than seventy thousand acres since chest yesterday, California national guard troops.

"Around the world, counterintelligence wars rumors of wars things. Go poop, guns, etc. All that kind of stuff and I got to start. I think I think speaking let me see if he texts me speaking for the fork reporter in myself Nielsen Vedran, I at our survey survey DRA, I'd never I've I rarely meet the guy, but we went to dinner with Burbank. Fire department station number twelve where it is right up Hollywood way just past for do go at the station. Yeah. They've got a truck truck truck, you know, the hook and live the big giant thing. Then they've got. It's also over there has Matt is and there was no has met. I just mean, it's where there were the has met response thing is really really nice place. And the the chief was there, and they were gonna it was going to be. Rahman night. And then, but then I knew I knew that the shield the way to kick up the game notch was to say, oh, well, you know, I might I might invite the fork reporter along. And so the the bar was Ray, no kidding. Yes, sir. I totally. I was like, oh, yeah. Whatever whatever you want to make, you know, I don't mind Rahman, but you know, whatever. And so I said, oh, do you mind if I drag a friend along and so so they made they made a pork ribs, which fell off the bone air. Amazing. And then they had macaroni and cheese made the correct way with a crust and with bacon. And then some asparagus instead with really really get real real simple. I hate that phrase comfort food guy. Yeah. And. I hate that. Because that's like, I'm having clam chowder. Oh, comfort food. No. It's dice clams in in tomato broth is called Manhattan style. Yeah. Hit comfort food. And and but it was really really really good. A good crew of chaps, and we got a tour. It was really really fun. And so we we thank them. And I brought I brought him some eggs about him some farm fresh eggs because I pay my way in this world damn it. But for the fire station. Wow. The next step. And also the chief was a I'm such a D. I forget his name. But a really really good guy. And we were and I I gotta say in a situation like this because they have to trust us. We trust them. We had we had to make it really clear. Listen, you know, what we talk about? Here stays here. We can we can we can all tell stories and I used to be used to work in the ER and the stat lab for the university of Washington medical center on the campus of you'd up and I used to work graveyard midnight to eight because I was starting graduate school. And so I would I would I changed my life completely to where I slept in the day that I worked at night. And then off I go to my classes from like eight to ten so it's a pretty good schedule. So I saw all kinds of things up people's butts. All kinds of college students or people who are closest to that hospital. Everyone a little story you ever hear an ER nurse talking about people who come in with different things up their bus. All absolutely true. And in the case of young men, there's another particularly nasty habit. The young men have which is I wonder if that thing over there. I wonder if that's shop vac. We'll simulate. Okay. So anyway, we we we we we all agreed that what happens at station twelve stays at station twelve and so city fire, right? Yeah, burbank. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, hell hell, you Burbank is it's a great little towns of very well kept secret Burbank is basically a small town surrounded by Los Angeles. And so so so we we traded stories, and I didn't know they had they had a story that I can never tell on the air. I never heard of anything like it, all and. And it was it shall I go to the grave with me as far as on the radio goes. But I'll tell you the break cool and Neil heard it too. And so we we all we we are sworn to secrecy. But it's a good good crew of chaps did Neil. Thank the firefighter and congratulate them on their food effort. He threw it across the table. He said he wouldn't he said, it's ironic. It's made of pig because he wouldn't faded to a pig. I'm sitting there covering up for him going. He's not normally like this. You just got off work. He's had a few K the he was reviewing beers for the sanitary. He's he gets like this today. The yeah. Just. Yes. So Neil, just like I say, you know, he he wouldn't let anyone else even eat the food. And all that it was it was I'm glad I'm glad I was there. Yeah. Yeah. That's so I might be exaggerating a tiny bit. No. I think I think he liked it as much as I did. And then we that's the other thing about firemen is that we're all sitting your trading recipes and the funniest part about like getting getting a bunch of dudes together, you know, eating ribs. And all that. And this is you know, they're on duty. There's no alcohol. There's no alcohol in the station. It's not nothing like that sound like we blow you do. We brought a mini cake something like that. We're sitting there drinking water in gigantic tumblers. But then again, Burbank has some water department some of the best water in the west coast. And so so we're we're why we winds up we're sitting here talking about food. You know? So you have all these, you know, you know buff. You know, firemen games ago. I'm sorry. Let me get that pepper for you. And we're trading recipes like knitting, circle or something. It's it's funny. There are no dogs. No one no Dalmatians. No pets whatsoever. And all that. But but a lot of fun get good guys. So I we're really grateful for the invite in great. We could. We're very very appreciative of the hospitality shown to us and bring a pie or anything. They had pie. I had to go to get here. And then they hit me with. Hey, you're leaving before the pie. And I'm not sure if Neil stayed for the fire, but they had they had pie even. And so it was and the chief was a really really good guy. He's in any. I gotta say putting myself in his shoes. You're the chief of the Burbank. Fire department and to to grab ass radio. Guys. Are you know, we may as well be the wacky morning show of like of Smith and Wesson on country one zero three cat country FM Modesto, and he lets us come in there. We didn't have to sign a release. No disclaimers. We didn't have to take an old or whatever. Nothing like that. He had to media guys sitting there in his in a station house, and we're just shooting. Yes. Just shooting the crap. Tom lenihan? Yeah. I guess and he's a Burbank guy all the way and he's pretty new to the gig. And and so, yeah, he he, you know, when when someone trusts us like that, we reward we reward the trust can we we'd love to go back some time. Maybe maybe me Neil. And I will do the cooking. Ooh. Next time that that would be the offers. So anyway, big big thanks to the and I don't get away. I it is the bef it's the suburban fire department. You know, and I know there were no wacky shirts said said, we're a BF D or anything. I would have thought they'd be wearing you some workouts. Tattoos. No, no. I you know, what? They came in from a call. They took their kid off. They're wearing short sleeved shirts. Tat's? I didn't see any tasks nothing. Not not must not be the firemen thing. So so anyway, let a lot of fun. All right. When we come back. I'm really holding back on launching into my tirade about I man now, but you have to wait till the third hour because there are more pressing matters in the world tonight, and whether or not a movie extraordinarily inaccurate movie did such a disservice to Neil Armstrong that it's actually an insult to. I'm not saying that's what the movie is. You have to wait 'til till ten to hear me L acute on that a little more. It is at our secret place. What really happened in that consulate in Istanbul a little over a week ago? We're getting a few more details, but we are getting details. But are they true or are the Turks and the Saudis both engaging in this? Information that and more coming up KFI AM, six forty more stimulating talk dark secret place.
