So he bid on to raise more money for a live rescue since I don't call He bit on having me caddy for them for three holes? Yes, I didn't have to carry the bag or anything like that. I was just basically walking around shooting the breeze with them. I tend to the pen, Did you finally I said, Yeah. You want it in or out? You know, when they were chipping from the rough, you want a name? You want to stick? Or do you want? You want it out? What do you want? What you say? Phrasing. It's all for both of those wrong. I mean, look, anything I say is going to be I just laid out as usual. I just showed up for lunch to get that out of there, raising raising So, so I'm caddying for him. All right, And I'm wrapping up the third hole. And then my duty was to to just socialized with all the the other foursomes. I had my own car. I was driving around the golf course. We just wrapped up number nine. And I got in on the passenger side of the golf cart. No one else was in there. And I was the hard slide in duck, right or the duck and slide. That was probably the reason why I slid first. And so you know you it had a roof. And it has this new little contraption to. I guess Carmen was telling me for the phones. I guess there's like a pointy edge where you store your phones on the roof of the golf cart. There's also like this golf cart. Rail. Where, like when you're you know you're riding in the golf cart in your hanging on on each side of the roof, So I ducked. And of course, I didn't clear it. I didn't clear it. Which is amazing, because you're not exactly an extra tall guy. No, no, I mean, like, really like, how much does it take? It's been a year and a half. Since I've been out in events. We've all been missing all these things. And now all of a sudden, I don't know how the hell to get into a golf cart. And as I go and ducked the head and do the underneath slide, my head went right up against this. And eight for 30. Seconds. Oh, minute. It hurt like a you know what? But of course, all I wanted to know is Did anyone see that? Anyone see that you were worried about what people thought No one dealing with and and Steve was ahead of me. Never saw it. I saw him motoring away in his golf cart or at least he, you know. Acted like he didn't say no one else was around me. And I'm like, Oh, that hurt it hurt for that first minute and then I was sort of fine. Didn't black out. Didn't see stars, no concussion, but I felt I felt to the top of my head and there was blood. But it wasn't gushing because you the amount of product two years there was no chance to blood could clear through the gel in your hair. So the wound was plugged by pomade. Is that what you're suggesting? No doubt Pomade? Yes. What do you do like when you were a kid and you cut your finger? You something you would put bastard tracing on. And if not, you put Vaseline on it That would make the the blood stops. So I went to the bathroom. I took like some paper towels. I press down. You know the hard pressure and there was quite a bit of blood wasn't gushing blood, though, and like, look It's been a year and a half. I'm not going to start bitching about my head. We got the whole damn golf. It's two in the afternoon. Your warrior. We were there to like 8 15 and I wasn't in much pain after the first minute went away, no headache, no nothing And it wasn't gushing. So I threw out a half and the rest of the day and I really didn't think much about it. The rest of if you were trying to hide the wound, and it's ahead, one so you're it's on the top of your head. You're not going to be able to see it. There was no way for you to diagnose. No, the fact that you needed a procedure And as we know now I have pretty good hair. Yes. So like the hair is covering up the wound, So okay, there's a little blood..

But okay, what? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That That is the thing we're missing. He's signing autographs in the middle of a game and umpire. I saw Sonny autographs for your child. So fish do I do to help the West was because there's no young child out there that is a fan of umpires. Okay, They just don't work that way. So his parents more likely his grandparent's put him up to that. Let's get that out of the way first. Now that we have that established, it is weird that an umpire is signing autographs. Even if that empire is Joe West, and I guess the fact that It is Joe West makes it weirder. Come on, man. It is seriously It's like the old you're not the show. But then you're signing autographs is kind of seems like a contradiction. But I think to be an empire, though you do. You have to have some. I'm a pretty cool guy inside of you. You have to be very confident in yourself and almost arrogant because you are even know the best umpires like the best referees. Are the ones you don't talk about. You still know, especially when you're behind the plate. You're that dude. That most people's eyes are are either on you or play only notice. If you screw up. You're getting your NFL cornerback with the best ones, right? Or the worst ones I get guess we screw up, they notice you, but there's still a measure of I'm the dude in charge, and you have to have a certain what's the best way to put it? You have to have a certain belief in yourself as a human being to want to do that job of when I'm behind the plate. I'm the guy in charge and doesn't Joe West seem like the type of guy that really enjoys being the guy in charge? "Arizona Diamondbacks left hander Madison Bumgarner has been competing in rodeo events under the alias Mason's Saunders and even one of twenty six thousand five hundred sixty dollars and a team roping competition in December according to a story published Sunday by the athletic Bumgardner was told I told the website that he has discreetly competed in rodeos for awhile including in March of last year two days before pitching for the San Francisco Giants in a cactus league spring training game he's been roping since he was fifteen or sixteen and said he's been added so long that quote it's just part of who you are he's the twenty fourteen World Series MVP if he agreed to an eighty five million dollar five year contract with the Diamondbacks this past December and I'm sorry Courtney if I was the diamond backs I wouldn't be thrilled to find out that my ace left hander yes competing in rodeos in the offseason this is the same guy who got injured on a dirt bike do not remember that when he was with the giants and that was a serious injury that put him out for a very long time no wonder he was performing I guess you want to call that under a pseudonym or a fake name because had you found out about this the Diamondbacks might not have spent eighty eighty five million dollar a gigantic sum over a five year contract on this guy I mean it doesn't make any sense like I understand the thrill of competition and this is who we is but these risky things every sport has stuff like this written into players contracts that you cannot do I mean I always go back to when it when he got hurt in San Francisco a few years ago do you remember the month Taylor's thing when he was with the warriors he fell off the scooter when he went back to Mississippi for the offseason S. lied about it yeah that was a story that came to mind and I feel like any time something like this it comes to the light I'm not one of these people is like all the cool funny look how cute of the story is I'm like what alias of Mason's Saunders instead of going with you know his own name Madison Bumgarner sell it this came from directly from the athletic article that broke the story said quote if you competed as Madison Bumgarner every phone camera in the area that would have been trained on him he said so he devised Mason Saunders the surname is the maiden name of his wife Allie Mason is a shortened version for Madison and it's something allegedly his wife called him out in public so people don't recognize them so very clever I'll give him that but I don't think the whole thing is a buzz saw her story totally bizarre and the other thing is you know if this was an NBA player everybody would recognize them already because NBA players are actually recognizable it just goes to show you how anonymous baseball players are that the most clutch postseason pitcher maybe of all time can compete in rodeos and nappy racket I think what I know it's wild lake in the in the fact is here like he continues to go what do these very risky things it just doesn't seem to care yeah if you get caught I mean there's the photo in that athletic article where he's smiling and you know he's with I guess that it's a two person thing that team roping so I hope twenty six thousand dollars I hope that Madison Bumgarner did not keep that for myself given the gigantic contract he just signed in December the but yeah he looks he's not there we is in this picture I mean I just think it's hilarious how almost incognito so many baseball players can live their lives in that matter just because they blend in because they're not these gigantic athletes by and large I mean they're not six eight or you know they don't think Shaquille o'neal out there everybody would be able to tell if you're you know for the most
