Tinashe's Independent Return to the Music Industry - Just The Sip 03/04/20

"Hey guys welcome to just as it is and I cannot wait you guys to meet my next guest. She is the real is in the game. I love her. I've been a fan of hers for Very Long Time and she actually host the hottest Taco Tuesday in my neighborhood and she is here because not only is the music hot but these shrimp tacos or the bomb to. Please welcome my girl tonight. I just want to let you guys. We met one night. We were bullock La at the club. We were extreme batting. Yeah it's stream fighting Buzi Veloso five and these two girls were literally like the white man who does a tight wire across the gray anion on heels this long dancing and work in. And we're like we need to know y'all y'all come party. Etta linked up linked up. And we've been friends ever since two dropping it low. That was a fun night burn night. Yeah there's no way she's out with the people she was I with the people in Chile Chile cheers to that graduated into it. I gotTa get strange. You get into it. Thank you new record. Save Room for us. Yeah out a million a week in a week. What's it like? That fans are responding to this new. Sound it honestly means everything because this is me you know like before. I think I was learning kind of coming up in the game finding my way and I felt really great to be in the position with my previous record label to release. My first vote was two point five albums and learned a lot. Got To work with all these different producers collaborate with so many different amazing artists. But I felt kind of towards the end of that experience that I wasn't hundred percent being true to like who I needed to be. And that was for. Like a zillion different reasons. It's really hard to pinpoint like one particular reason or it was over the course of a seven year relationship with that situation so I found myself in the place where I just felt like I needed to step back like fine pause in my life really reinvent and become artists that I felt that I truly like was an and just continue on like a trajectory that I was headed towards. I felt like I was kind of like coasting through my career like going through the motions instead of doing what you really really wanted. Artists come here and all they want is at record deal. They want apple to see them. They want to be a part of that. And you had it and then you let it go. Was that a mind for you to like say. Ok. I'm going to do this on my own. Yes myself. It's a big risk right because you lose that kind of machine that kind of solidifies like a lot of different things way budgets. Like making sure that you know you get your stuff out there at first. It seems like okay. How am I going to actually even function as an artist without this machine? That has been internationally pushing me for so long. You know there's so many different components that go into it and I think for me Taking that risk felt like a better option than to continue on what I was doing before like I had to for my soul like take it there. I had to like for me. It felt very very much like spiritual like an instinct calling to like. I have to you know this is. This is the time. This is the perfect opportunity. Gobert Sean you said like there's a spider. My house yeah. I'm not just going to kill spider. I'M GONNA burn the whole month and read somewhere that you've fired fired. You parted ways with everybody. Everybody here in makeup. You parted ways with the you party ways with lawyers rainbows managers lawyers businessmen and Jerry's style literally across the Board. Just wanted to be like clean slate. I'm GonNa just from the ground up really reduce. I connect reconnected with a lot of people that I was really great friends with and I've I guess also kind of re affirmed the of my friendships in this industry because the have built a lot of like really genuine relationships. And I think that those have also really kind of kicked into gear in taking me to another place where I'm using actual real creative energy and people around me instead of kind of just. I don't know it's hard. It's hard to describe but like when you're kind of in sometimes a label situation at least in my experience. It feels like there's this disconnect between the artists and Mike. Every thing that happens like even like collaborations like you don't really talk to the artists when you collaborate with them or like say you like yeah you WanNa like create something you WanNa do something. There's always this transactional situation that happens. Let's let's bring that to people who don't realize slumber party Britney Spears. Oh my God when you collaborate with the Britney are you in the studio with Britney or are you talking about her looks I send you a track and say we want you to be on this. Yes yes yes. Yes which is very typical of situations so it just feels very much more natural. Now that I'm having to kind of reach out to people myself make those connections myself and it feels more valuable and just feels like everything. There's a better synergy that I do. Because you Rick Rubin right now in the sense reminding do this at Your House. You do this on your own my own space in my own environment which feels really comfortable and really genuine authentic which. I think people can tell the difference. You know. There's so much. Fake Ness in the world that people have really a craving and looking for authenticity. Whatever that means even if that means like being independent doing stuff on your own now how did you find friends in the music industry? Because I feel like it's the mother. Oh yeah everybody answer themselves. It's Ache I feel I. Can you explain this to me? We went on a hike that everybody's just offer themselves. How do you find those authentic artists that are actually friends? And who are there for you during this process? I think again. That's kind of what I've really been able to realize a lot with this current time period. Because I've been able to see who is there for just for the art or is there just for me as a as a friend or as the support system. I've really been able to find out who those people are and I think. Yeah real genuine friendships. Maybe in the music industry can be few and far between but I think that you can still find great collaborative friendships and great stuff. Yeah from my make some people. Yeah you know anybody that surprise you when you were like. Hey Bro I want you to be on his mother. Navam and they were like Who Not specifically now that I can think of where you have intuition too. Yeah yeah the whole thing. Are you try to kind of already collaborate with people who are seemingly giving you that kind of energy already yeah? It's almost like single life. It's like when you've been married. Seven years mighty big and then you get the single moment you live your best life and you meet all these really cool people and you find yourself then. You're doing this whole thing. Would you ever go back into a marriage with the label after doing it by yourself and if you would what would be different? I would say never say never at this current point now the right situation came on came about I would definitely consider it But for me. What really held me back from kind of even exploring that with releasing this last album was. I just felt like there was so much of this kind of same thought process So just kind of like going from one relationship to another. That was just extremely similar. So it didn't feel like growth for me. I felt like I had to give myself the opportunity to try to do it without this dated mentality of like just approach to making music and our approach to releasing music is. It's hard like artists. Talk about it all the time you know getting. It's hard to get there album out. It's hard to get creative differences or whatever I think it's the where business meets art. There's always going to be a risk you know. And now you're just doing art and now I'm just focusing our and it feels so much better. Yes so single we always talk about how Minna garbage in different locations different garbage gets at different locations. I say that it was an LA thing. And I beg to differ so you think it's just all over the place it's an epidemic. The new it's the old corona virus garbage. How do you have a hard time finding a dude got the MTA nausea? I mean well first of all I don't like actively look so that's part of it date maybe if I like dated maybe and meet some Nice people just genuinely don't like carve out the time but I've been to your house Taco Tuesday it's fine. There's some dude. I don't like talk to them. That's because you're too busy by the way this girl hugging the Taco. This girl has egg forty five people over at our house for Taco Tuesday. She's making the tacos. Her brother at work. She invites her parents to bring shrimp over to finish back on. We ran out of shrimp so I needed a more so I called my mom. Mom bring us another that. She comes in like stealth mode. But here's the lease and then leaves mom doesn't even stay with its hind. You find that family in Los Angeles because it's hard to make friends and find people who are genuinely here for you and not here for you the celebrity. Well I think for me the number one thing. That's helped me learn how to navigate is growing up here. I think you have a huge advantage because I think when you come here you tend to go to like all these certain circles in these certain environments where everybody around there is kind of trying to meet people or network or connect or be a part of the circle. When you're literally grow up here you're just in the suburbs here in Glendale Galleria. You know you're just you see that as like a part of the city that you can kind of use as a tool you can dip into relief from so I feel like people that are from the city and people who move here kind of experience l. a. differently just in their perspective of like the. Hollywood life like I've a lot of people who live here like people are so fake people are so fake my God and I'm like you have. Have you met people like really really like from here? There's a lot of soul there's a lot of heart is a lot of real genuine culture. But you could be who who are not from. La Because to get into the circle is hard okay. That's the other part that is why I kinda have this great circles because everybody that is in my immediate framework but whatever is people that have been there like from time so to get into that circle takes. Tell you what it feels like. Remember in blade whenever like the Vampires are all at Club in Germany and they're all like dance and Raven and all of a sudden the non vampire walks in and everyone's like nothing feels a non. La DO TRIES TO WALK INTO LA. Gang announced true. It's true it's hard I feel for. I feel for the people who move here as the Queen. Bee says because that's what happens. The Queen of Talk. You're cool you're at TACO Tuesday out. Good job tell people how you gotTa Start. Because you got your start at an early age. It's a it's quite a long story so when people get asked like how'd you get into the industry? It's hard to say it's like one thing or another. I was in my first movie when I was five years old. I started dancing four. I have been actively entertaining or like in the business since you could walk as long as I can remember. Yeah so that has just volved and continued to be like. I was thinking about my career and I was eight years old. You know so. It's always been a part of my life. It's like who I am and yeah that's how I started. How hard is it to be? I mean kids ruthless. Oh yeah how hard is it to be on? Tv and in school at the same terrible. It was terrible. It was terrible and you'd think it'd be easy kind of easier growing up in. La Thinking like kids. Maybe it would be more use to Djilas now. They were not nice. There are not nice so once you hit about like middle school aged puberty and I'd leave school for like maybe two three months of time ago like shoot a show. I'd come back. Everyone hated me. All of a sudden it'd be like what's what is this and that was the start of me just feeling like I can't really connect with my peers so I didn't have like a very great like middle school. High School experience dipped out of there quick. Yeah and how did you fine? The people did you have to switch schools. Was there like a lot of the people who are even like the girls. Were still my friends. Were from dance so like my dad like after school activities like girls that I would dance with. They're still like my really good friends. My best friend actually. She's just she's a lawyer now but yeah we've been best friends as we are eight years old. And she was a return to the club zealous. Yeah she probably. Would you say you're a what did a lawyer after tonight right? No she's great but she yeah she's just like we met in the girl scouts in the girl scouts. Yeah like we went to school together but we connected most of the people that connected deeply with were from like activities. Could you imagine going through that now with social media? I can't handle. I think on that every day I feel so bad for could you imagine I can't even I can't even. That's like an entirely of their level of. Yeah I can. I just say when I think about my heart hurts because every now and then you not a place for kids period. Honestly it really isn't or for the heart no no matter either. Do you hate social media right now. No I don't actually I don't I think I've learned how to use and I think I've also learned how to with a lot of things it's just about your perspective like I used to hate twitter like actually hate twitter like it's such a like I would just like. This is a negative place full of just mean people all. I see on my time. I mean trolls. All Day is like what's on twitter and I just wouldn't go on it and then I changed my perspective. I was like wait. Twitter is actually really funny. Everybody goes on here just to like troll. Yeah it's just a troll fast so if you look at it differently just such a funny and then you kind of just like I don't know it changes. It changes your dynamic of it instead of looking at a place where people are bullying each other. You just look at it as a place where people can be sarcastic and have fun. I think that's social media in general it's all about your perspective on how you use it. It's a tool. It shouldn't be like instagram. Shouldn't be like your number of lakes is like how many people actually like you. That's not how you should be gauging your content so it was all about how you did you ever want to quit social media. Oh my gosh several times a million times a million times. Why do people give it like? I feel like everybody else keeps it. We want to be apart of the Matrix in the mix. You want to be in the game. Yeah I often think about deleting SR twitter Aga- delete facebook facebook but I want to keep an eye all booty calls very. It's like people. I went to like middle school with the most kids have zero contact with. Who I've just like. What is blabbity Blah Blah Blah from eighth grade? Math doing fantasy BASEBA. How many kids have now? I wonder if she's making fun of her kids like she made fun of me in highschool trip. That's what I'd like to see. I like to see what my life would have been like if I were to stay write. You opened up about going through a hard time after a public. Break up We've been Simmons. Where are you now in that process and looking back What were you doing at? What point were both at the beginning? Why the Hell did you even get involved in you know like? Does anyone really know they get involved in. Something like doesn't really make sense on paper like no. I don't know why I don't really deep people in general so like why would I pick that and I don't know why would you pick that? Were sitting right. There is different. I don't know sometimes you just connect with someone is different and you just have to. Yeah just felt different now looking back on the period when you were down in out regret ever going through that and being open and honest about that absolutely not no way. I mean no because going through that for me was what inspired me to like. That was a big moment in my life where I had pause in general yes. Has it put a spotlight on like the other parts of my life or like the other relationships in my life that I didn't feel like we're fulfilling me. It was like it wasn't just that relationship that ended up not working out feeling great like when that wasn't there all this other stuff. I realized I was like wait. This is all wrong. This is all wrong and that was the moment where I was able to like. Leave my management which was the hardest thing I ever did or like leave yet. Just like do what I needed to do. That was the catalyst for sure for sure. It's so crazy like when one thing topples in your life it makes other things Topo but not in a way. It's all falling now could be. It could be but it was not it. Wasn't that for you for me. It was it was okay girl. We get this right right. Yeah Yeah Yeah I'll have to second guess myself when I make decisions like that really. Yeah 'cause I don't know you get so involved in the machine and in the relationship and all these things and you don't for me. I never know what's causing the inks like I'm having anxiety about my professional life my personal life and all these things sometimes. It's hard for me to like say one is the which one is the pinpoint and which ones causing the other ripples and then when you make that big decision to like throw everything off the table. I often go. Holy did I just do what did I do? I'm on my own. It felt so it felt so obviously like I had like. I was already feeling that way for a while. Yeah about that situation while I was in our relationship about everything else so that relationship was really important to me because it was probably one of the things that really bring me happiness the time. Yes really deep right now you know. I don't know if it was like a distraction but like it made me really happy and like everything else that I was going through like. Wasn't all the way there and so yeah. I think that that was when I was like okay. Yup everything that I've been feeling like this is I have no choice. This is what I gotTa do and then when I did it it felt like like all this weight off my shoulders like okay. I'm free and then like the game changed. Quick in terms of like creatively. I was just coming up with all these ideas felt so inspired and then since then the energy has just been Like the momentum has been picking up and everything feels like. Everything's in a great place. Now you know you see. I like when artists. Yeah where you go through some and then you get home and you're like that cat me. What's that one song on the album? That's the most personal for you. Dating back. To the flag the relationship the management the their their versus last summer last or is there one. Where like you know that when you sing this on tour which also doubts you better get. Your mother gets yeah. Is there one song that you know when you get on stage? It's going to be hard for you to probably like probably like my more acoustic moments like remember when or like no better because it'll be really liked bring the energy down just kind of really tap into the most of the songs in like how I was feeling when I wrote them so I feel like those are going to be really gut wrenching. Yeah parts of the show. That really kind of tap into that which I'm excited about. I'm excited to have the upper nome. Yeah because I feel like a lot of times my show in the past has been like so high energy so much dancing and excitement and whatever which is which is amazing. Because I love doing that in a performance but I think one of the special things about this album is the heart and the emotion I put into it so definitely. WanNa make sure that I double down tap into that and the show so craziest thing about performing on a stage like. What's the craziest moment you've ever had? When you think back on. All those years of touring because you told me a story once and I almost died because I think about it every now and then and I think you're gonNa tell the same story you told me a story one time about when you went to Japan and you realize that no one spoke only. Yeah when you're on stage. Yeah everyone was saying all the words. That's that's the most incredible thing because it's like you don't even know English but you know every single to these songs. They mean something to them like. That's so crazy. That music is so amazing for that. You know just having my fans all over the world is like. It's very humbling and also inspiring. 'cause you're like wow we are all so connected. I could just put out a talk. All these people are going to hear my message. You know. That's that's a really amazing thing and now that you get to actually put your real message. That's because now people get to really hear it fresh When you were deep in all of it. Who did they try to pitch you against everyone? Every black girl was I. It was like the superstars which was like. Whoa an honor but like how are you guys? Go to maybe get these people would like to Nasha the new ORLEA do not shea. The next beyond say it'd be like you guys are setting me up. Left and right people are icons like what like so it started off there and then like it got then. It was everyone. It's I've literally name probably six different people. At one point that has been like to Nasha Versus J. Tamasha versus F K twigs to nausea versus all the bureau literally any black girl. Cassie all the whisper singers. Whatever that means that some would ever take it to the next level where like they don't realize that they're putting you guys against each other and make it all the time. Actually I realized that by meeting people in person I would. I would meet someone and they'd be like. Hey Oh my God I really like your music. But I'm actually like a huge fan and I'd be like is that better. Does that mean like what like just the fact that like you said that is very strange that that is like you're putting it out as if you can't be a fan of me because you're a fan of her which is very very very strange. Yeah it's just a weird like whoever said that you can't be fans of multiple. I don't know what the MUNAF stand mentality. It's a standard right fallen victim to the San mentality have people over. I will fight over survey. At least I don't make him an is wrong till the day. I'm black and blue in the face I will say like no. Don't even go for it. I didn't I stand Dan for Nikki. I stand for Nikki and I stand for Nikki because his wife Amber Nikki. Because everybody's like cabbage. Don't help nobody that like other and I'm like how does she know how a lot of other brother women but like nobody held nicky's hand like Missy Elliott didn't Grab Nicky don't Camden Grab Nicky. And say you're gonNA come with me and I'm GonNa help you do X Y and Z. Nikki opened the door just as much as other people open the door for her. And I'm GonNa give you this and then you walk through and let's do this the main. Shes a queen. Alan care she always will be. She's made her mark very clear she will continue to do so. It is what it is what it is but I found myself not wanting to listen to recordings on and then like hearing press in case you didn't like myself. I catch myself doing that. Because sometimes you get caught up in it. Yeah so I get it. I guess I CAN'T BLAME PEOPLE. But billy what's the craziest thing you ever read about yourself on the Internet? Oh I've read some crazy out of pocket lake. Let's the craziest rumor you ever read about yourself on the Internet. I'm a stocker docker. By the way when I read that and then I met you like a few months later. I was like she had the loudest Ferrari I ever heard in my mother in live like to the point where like extra security needs to be hired. Stocker like bats funny. I like that. Hobby barely leaves our house which is in the studio. I am bass probably crazy and then I think one time. Oh that one time media take out a long time ago said I like with future like when he was with Sierra and now that was that was out of pocket. Do you ever have to be like a crazy Came taxing you but like I usually don't feel the need to address most of those rumors. They seem so out of pocket to me. I don't feel that compelled to defend myself. Yeah you sure yourself though yeah. I don't I don't really feel the need to defend myself very often if I do. I'm Mike I've been tested then tested. Yeah Keep H. L. Pretty much for the most part all right new album crazy songs for you. Tell me the song if I'm about to come over said in the mood easy. What's the song so much better so much? Better the the about to go through a break. I'm about to leave his ass about to have that conversation listening to you before I break up with his son know that it's gotten better. Yeah definitely out the club. I see that bitch. I don't like what's my GM Babich link up link and you bring your friends and you just walk in there like okay all right okay. This is my friend Mary O. X going to be there with his new woman and I'm single but I'm loving my life. I looked upon. It's about to get real bad bitch ever and I want him to know that he missed out on. This was my feelings. Maybe my fans mess him up in an okay. What's the song from another artist that you listen to right before you about to go to the club currently Always want to know what other artists. Listen to you to whatever's hot at the moment so like right now honestly million to Justin bieber CHANGES NOT GONNA lie. It's like club hype songs though but the one thing that I know you listen to all the time because when I was at your house you must have had seventeen times does the rest Taco Tuesday playlist. I put a lot of you know I also remixed it and like made an invitation to people and I was like. Oh No those. Three s making dog goes great great. So That's why you're twenty six twenty. I just turned twenty seven. This is so scary that like at twenty seven like my issues. Were like not your issues like my life was not like. I was worrying about the dumbest things when I was twenty. I mean I'm worried about some stuff about album here about single worried about a homeowner's insurance about like studio liability like you're doing some massive. Do you feel like the music industry major grow up faster than what you were supposed to a thousand percent. I don't know about supposed to but I do think that. At least that side of my life at that perspective in my life in terms of my career and how I think about my purpose or my business that yes that has been kind of fast forwarded I mean I've known what I wanted to do my entire life and I feel like a lot of people. My Age are lot. People went to school with are still sometimes are struggling to figure out what they really want to do. Thirty three of them. So that's a relatable thing so just from that standpoint I feel very blessed and fortunate and like I do have a head start in that fence. Yeah was every time you're like. I want to quit this now. This is not working for me. Honesty now no never die with the Mike in your plan. A ONLY NO PLAN B. I'll just figure out how to like how to change it or shifted or evolving that. I don't think I would ever quit. What's your Sign Aquarius? Okay I was like what should not have a plan because I have to have a plan B really. I'm like going out on a limb without a plan. B Yeah one of the scariest things. I don't know why I feel like a plan. B Just sets yourself propeller because you're planning for failure see. I'm not thinking we are planning to Nabi homeless okay. What's the first thing you bought when you check into uneven item e? I saw that bag bitch. I saw your closet okay. Well Okay my honestly studio recording studio. That's the first thing payment. Why could use to be a normal teenage to be frivolous with your money? Because that's plan a otake right now. I have enough money to make my music videos. You know. That's all I care about in terms of making money is like making enough money to make more art. That's honestly that's what makes me happy and excited again at twenty seven. That was not my. I was like trying to find a man to find a car. It's not five all right. Maybe one thirty the last five minutes of this interview that went by so fast. It went by so fast. Because we're having fun. I need to talk about Gedney and slumber party. Yeah I need to circle back to that. Go back to that and I was like. I'm not going to be the gay. Who GOES STRAIGHT IN BRITAIN? He even know I wanted to do it. What was it like? What was that moment like when you were in that? Lingerie Britney was there and y'all are onset together because there's all these conspiracies that she's x Y and Z one. Would she like choose the superstar being not environment actually on the video? Shoot itself like you see her truly. Just come to life that person that you that at least I have idolized since I was six years old. You know that's really her. Amid all of the you know she can act whatever on social media you know she may come across especially to. I feel like a younger generation. Who didn't grow up like seeing her like when she was in her whole whole whole prime through three the. Ama's come on come on but like that is still truly who she is so like when you get on that set and she just turns it on. She comes to live. I was just like in awe by her star power just her like confidence or connection with the camera like at one point like I always tell this part of the story. 'cause I died. They were filming us like in the scene. Where we were kind of like on each other comes over and she whispers in my ear. She was like I'm going to take off her shoes and I was just like with your mouth. Yeah it would take it there. Everything in a million years as an artist. No no no especially on her album. I'm still like still I geek out about it. It feels like it didn't really saw. That was crazy. We watched a video. Forty-seven anytime together like six times afterwards. Which was so fun like. I got to keep seeing her. It was so cool. She's so now she's so sweet. Truly is very sweet. Who You dying to get into the studio Andre Three thousand. He hasn't been making music. I heard he can. You can do it if you can pull anybody out of the world and back into music you can pull them up Atlanta. Find them out. We can make that happen here Andre but if you do it if we make it happen. I need like a writer's credit for one word percent of the writing credit. Do you make that happen? I'm so happy for you. This is like a miseducation Lauren. Hill where you can listen to it from the beginning to the end and you feel like you know someone and you know the struggle and you know the happiness and you know the highs in you know blows and every song gives me a feeling. I try to do that with the body of work. I really value like the entire project is a project and yeah I feel like relationships have so many different colors and tones that I feel like it's nice to paint all the different towns and yeah. I'm I feel really good about that. And the visuals telling you. Thank you bitch in those neither got you on the cameras cut Tell people where they can find these tickets. Yes well I think you can just go to t NACIONAL DOT COM and it'll link you to all of them but they're also at ticketmaster and various locations more show so stay on the lookout these tickets today. Yeah no they're gonNA sell out so please come. Every time I go on instagram. There is a new poster of a sold-out out sold out sold out standing meals. Not many I really appreciate it. You just like this shoddy ash person to clean. She's everything your queen. Thank you work this out. I love you. Thank you for taking everybody. Mother gets a NASHA. Let get. Why Lady Vanessa? Back here so we can talk about tonight Shea. She is honestly my little spirit animal. Like I almost wish I had equal parts and parts of Alabama like. She's so enlighten in south and I really aware but at the same time she still has gone. She's still that girl I wouldn't if I was that successful that young. I don't know where it will be. Yeah no I would not have any feet because my hills will be too high. My neck would have snapped that we have the whole time everything and she's so sweet. She walked in. She hugged everybody. He's like she's like so sweet and nice and being L. A. Native Myself. What she said about being from here how the people are from here are so like chill and calm and they don't have that expectation of like what Hollywood supposed to be. I literally say those words all the time and I was a cast my people. It's really interesting that she says that too because one of the first time ever met her. We hung out a few times by ourselves and she was having a Taco Tuesday issues. I guess my last one you come in like Oh when a dinner with four friends like she was like Oh bring them and I bring him talking to of all. Ainhoa strangest coming in my house and being your Uber Ramos. Yeah everyone knows who you are. Aren't you afraid of strangers coming into your house and you know for her? She's one of those people who are like if I trust you. I trust him. Judge me up and at some point I had to weed out one of the people who was supposed to come to dinner. What those because they got on dresses as a. Yeah my friend. Who was somebody else's very but she's so welcoming and she so sweet and so kind and she's so optimistic like as a celebrity. I wouldn't just invite a random much less entertainment reporter but I think that speaks a lot toward your character because like you said your media reporter but they you have a lot of friends in the industry that genuinely trust you and I think that just speaks to like who you are. I think at this point. It's like listen. They know you're not gonNA write them out. This is what happens if you're at a private party at someone's private parties and they invite you as a guest until they homes the last thing. I'm GONNA do leave that home in talk about now. You can't absolutely not if you invite me to screening of movie or screening of your new play. We go talk about something that happens in the public. But if it's like thirty five girlfriends at your Brentwood home and wearing makeup and we're all hanging out and we're key somebody passes join around. That's the last thing I'm GonNa say on but I feel like people know that. Yeah for sure but should we keep me one hundred hundred? Do you want to do some questions? Do if you questions. Let me see here all right. Linda G wants to know I have all my family on my social media accounts so they're always throwing everything I do or post in my face. Should I block them or suck it up? I don't so I won't hurt their feelings. The minute somebody gets critical about your social media account they lose their privileged to watch your social media account your family my family. Yeah like if you have an issue with me. Being hugged up with the dude are being to salacious. I I sometimes look and say oh. Maybe I'm being too salaciously. Wayne it back a little bit. But there's this thing on your social media and it's called the block list. Let me tell you when I wanNA put up a thirsty photo if I'm on vacation and I WANNA lag lead. The boys know that I'm here and I want to put my bathing suit down a little bit lower. I have a block list. That's already intact right. You lock all my executives just from that photo this photo here ready right so you can use that. That's kind of a tool I use. I don't WanNa stretch my muscle and let a bit. You know that I'm fat and this week in glass. That's when I use. Yeah that's smart. I like that okay. Donna wants to know me and my boo want to spice things up in our relationship. Any advice for us on how to be less boring in our relationship and get out of our Rut first of all Donna. I'm going to tell you what not to do. And that's get a third. Yeah don't do that. That's what you're not going to do now manage. I think trying new things is always important and I think a lot of times. What happens in relationships is people get afraid to ask for what they really want? Are the things that they actually want to try? And I always say if it doesn't involve blood poop or other things I will try to at least one right And draw the line the line and poop one hundred percent and I did one time with a partner was I made it. We made a list of things that we would want to try now in the bedroom and we put it in a hat and once a week we would pull out of a hat and try something that I wanted to try or that. He wanted to try and it was always something fun. And sometimes I really didn't like it and I could say like Yo. That wasn't pleasurable for me. I always say tried twice right before you not get but some of the things that we tried I now bring into my new releases. Yeah alerts freaking do about myself She can play the stranger danger. Another fun thing to do with your partner is go to a store and talk to the people who work there by the way they have heard some nasty. Yeah Shock. That's Jacques. Look my audio guys shaking his head right now. I'm GonNa talk to about that when nothing is gonNA shock them. They will walk you through the store like your Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory and let you lick try tastes all the can take some things home but that's a fun way to do it together. Good adventure because then you can ask the questions that you don't willy heard. How do we make of US painful? How's IT enjoyable for both of us? Oh add this thing in. That is what you should do. Yes like that. Have you ever been to your man? I think we probably have gone to one before we got married was. We had a kid out the door the next year questions. But that's involved once you have a baby that's when the sex back and said you're not going to leave my as kid. We'll get it this freaky as the next question was there ever being was okay but was there ever something that by somebody brought up to your attention like oh. I want to try that. And you're like Ooh and then all of a sudden you kinda liked it now. No you like everything that I've tried. Sorry dead okay. Cassie wants to know. How do I manage with an emotionally unavailable boyfriend? Who by the way if you ever give us a question about relationships let us know how long you've been in it? Yeah that's true. And if it's like monogamous or like I mean just things but I think if somebody's emotionally unavailable in an you need that emotional connection sometimes let remind them that you need that and having a conversation with them and saying hey I feel like you're closed off our. You're not that emotional and I need to just no doing it. Starting it planting that seed at some point Beth lower is going to grow. And if you're in a relationship with somebody a year after you've been telling him consistently that you need more from him and he doesn't give it. That's when you have to make the decision if you're going in that relationship or not but I think knowing that he's emotionally unavailable in knowing that he has issues with emotions is the first step to figuring out if you can even get that out if you can be okay with it right because some people aren't emotional right and you at some point you either decide to accept it or you have to move on. Meg wants to know. My first anniversary is coming up with my first serious boyfriend. I WanNa plant something special but I'm nervous of being extra any suggestions. I always say plan something like how you walk out the house. I was take one or two things off tonight. Be Two extra So I always get dressed in and take two things back. I think you the same thing. We're planning an anniversary plan out the dream thing that you would want and then and then back okay and say okay well and and you can always feel it out like if there's something extra that you want to do you can always say. Give it to them as a gift. Let's do this within the next six months like mad as a gift. So I don't know I also think that you don't should be planning anything. Let's say she has to be careful too because he could be planning something and then if they're planning something the same night that could be a little bit of a problem one hundred percent time so she should plan on something more of a gift or inexperience within the night as he should be. Maybe planning the night all right one more question. I think it sophomore. I'M GONNA go with that name I've been dating this guy for a couple months now but recently I've had feeling that he might be gay. Do I just break up with him and not mention or do I ask look first of all. There's nothing stronger than a women's intuition Nothing so you have an intuition that that person may or may not be they might be if I were you I would just back away. Break up with him and go about my business. Sometimes you have to let people get to that point in their lives themselves where they have to find it because if you do do that they may go further back into the closet right so if you think he might be gay. I would say you're not fluid into that or you know that you're not on the spectrum as well and you're willing to accept that I would maybe just back off break up with them and don't say a damn thing. Yeah yeah she needs to let him kind of explore that on his own you gotTa let him explore that and if you want a nice gay friend and you know he's going to do it at some point just keep them in your life. Yeah and if he is gay he had secretly. You probably knows. Yeah and he'll yeah and he might even be eventually grateful that you kind of let him go and the other thing is you. Don't WanNa be a beer. Yeah but it doesn't sound like she's saying it sounds like it. Sounds like she really has that gut feeling that she's probably right just hasn't accepted that or feels like he can accept that. And what you can't do either is. You can't tell your girlfriend said you think he's gay and you just got exempted swallow it and leave it alone. Yeah by the way. Apply capital. One Bank USAA. All right. So we're going to kick off the mail bag here with question from Nick s from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. He says good afternoon as hoping to get your thoughts on this since the McMahon's have come back to TV I've noticed that triple h has been getting into the face of Seth Rollins trying to get him to be a man he was back when Rawlins as part of the authority or right after also Mr McMahon has taken an interest in AJ styles, which seems odd considering Vince doesn't like the smaller guys much and bring out a new attitude in could we be seeing the Bill to a wrestlemainia between Rollins and AJ as a story line climax having something to do with who takes complete charge of raw Vince admitted he needs help with the XFL starting up next year. And we know Vince will have his hands in that venture. Could this be a way for him to give up control of raw? And then we see rob move in a new direction for twenty nineteen thanks for your time. So Jason does does Vince going after AJ and and Seth and trying to get him riled up. Does that seem like? It's related or just kind of coincidental. I think it's coincidental. I think they are. Okay. So they're basically trying to turn them both into male Becky Lynch, I think they're just trying to give their top baby faces some sort of an edge. I I think that's what's going on here. More than anything, and I'll say to Vince, generally, obviously, favors bigger guys. But he's a fan of AJ. So it's not odd that Vince the person is taking an interest in AJ styles. He's had him as a top AB face on on an important national live to our TV show ah for a long stretch of time. So that's that. I I don't really see. I don't see the two crossing paths. I think this like you said, it's it's about creating a sense that there is change going on. And that your favorite wrestlers are firing up and the man's are responsible for it. And I kind of made fun of it. Because I don't think that the answer to everything is ruthless aggression. But I think Vincent man thinks it is. And that's how people are gonna like AJ and Seth more the idea that's ethnics to be more. Like, he was in the authority should be something that Seth immediately rebuts and says, I don't wanna go back to being that person. You know, this idea that your lead baby face should be more. Like he was when he was a conniving. He'll who was doing all these terrible things and part of evil authority and taking orders from them is pretty much the opposite of of what I would think you would want your Lee baby face to do that wasn't framed. Well, there was a way for triple h to even clarify not asking you to do some of the things we did back then, but I'm looking for that. Yup. That guy with the edge or whoever you wanna framing. And is there a chance that we do see triple h Vince Shane and Stephanie in various corners of various wrestlers at some point. Nick brings up the idea of battling for raw or power for raw. Are we going to see the McMahon's go in the direction of being an opposite corn? Or even battling for power because I don't think that's going to happen myself. But I do fear that it might be on their mind as quote a solution. A God, I hope on I I don't think. So a so far they've all played it straight. I wonder how long it lasts. But I don't get the impression like that's what they're working chords. You know things can change especially if the ratings continue to stay low. But I don't think that's like on in the wrestlemainia plans or anything like that hunter may have more of a healer edge, depending on what he does it wrestlemainia AB does work to match with Batista. If he's able to if he's physically recovered in time, but beyond that, even then I think it's going to be more. He's he'll when it comes to Batista, but not necessarily taking it out on all the other talent. I think they finally realized he authority figures are pretty tired. I hope you're right. I really do art up next. Stop random says what do you foresee the w TV show looking? Like, it seems like an annex t approach is the most viable where stars are showcase sporadically with big matches being held off for special events. A one hour show would be great Jason. That's really hard to say. Just because we don't yet. We don't know the length a one hour show sounds nice when there's such an abundance of wrestling. But hey, if let's say it's Turner and they want to ours. I don't know that you know, if the money's right? I don't you're gonna pass. And I would hope they would pass for three hours. There've been rumblings of like an hour to ninety minutes or something we'll see. But as far as I think, the basic structure around pay per view time is going to be like that. I I don't think you can rule out anything coming out of the gate though. I just don't know what their model is for pay per view type events. I is they we know they're basically planning to have two this year that we know of. The Jacksonville show. I don't know what that is at. I don't know if that's going to be the the second version of the follow up if it's a pay per view event, if they're just gonna run a house show. It's going to be a TV taping. I have no idea, but we know they're doing the Vegas show. And then there's all sorts of speculation and even internal bus for for quite a while. Now that they're gonna follow up and do another all land style event on that same Labor Day weekend. So Memorial Day Labor Day weekend leaves, you know, and they're not going to be on television most likely before then with let's say next year they expand to even four pay per view events. It leaves you a lot of time. And I I mean, yeah, you're going naturally you're going to save some of your bigger matches for pay per view. Once you set Lynn but coming out of the gate. I mean, I expect them to do everything they can to get eyeballs on their product including giving away some big TV matches. Yeah. I think one thing that has been lacking so far and the. The clues being dropped by eighty w we know that they're going to go after really talented wrestlers like that's what Tony Kahn talks about. He's a fan of good matches. He wants top to bottom. Good wrestlers. But what about the the way that they tell their stories? The only clue we have is wins and losses are going to determine who gets titled shots and Tony Kahn reiterated that on XBox three sixty and or one one-two-three three sixty excuse me and. And that's fine. But I keep waiting to hear about a booking philosophy. Cody Rhodes when I interviewed him this past summer talked about having a pretty strong disagreement with young box on on the tone and presentation of professional wrestling. And I'm wondering if they've worked at through. And I'm not hearing from Tony Kahn that he even. Recognizes how important that is that you can't just put good. I mean, I guess you can put good wrestlers on TV having good matches keep score those who win the most matches get title shots. But I've never seen a wrestling company. Pull that off. And I don't think that's the formula in and of itself to success. It can be part of the formula. But I'm not hearing him talk about creating stars. Or he talks a little bit about wanting a more authentic product, which is good in a sense of spot Nady and not being overproduced. But in the end, I mean going back to Brad's question in the core of it. We don't know what the show is gonna look like I mean from production value standpoint, all we have is is is what they did at all in. But Tony Kahn wasn't really part of that. So I I don't know. I mean, I think we're all Raleigh gonna find out it it's possible. It looks like an XT. It's possible. It looks like nitro. It's possible. Looks a lot more like new Japan. I don't I just Jason. I. Do you have any other clues that you've been able to decipher because nobody seems to be asking Tony Kahn that from the interviews that I've seen and Cody in the bucks. I haven't heard talk about that yet since the AWS announcement. I don't even know what the booking structure is. I assume coating in the box of a lot to do with it where it was confident of that. Or the other players in creative who's in charge of a it's one thing it usually like, for instance, in impact wrestling when they'd had creative regimes. There were also guys who were part of creative were in charge of scripting out the actual show. And so there'd be a lot of ideas flying around. And then it came you know, it was up to those guys to put it all down on paper. And they actually had ended up having a lot of influence over it as well. Even if they weren't the ones with final say, so there's still so many questions that need to be answered. I was really hoping that would come up in the interview, but Sean covered a lot of ground. But that's I would like to know more about his philosophies creatively. And just who is going to be on this creative team of. That's what it is. Let's I want to talk to you more about that. Tony Kahn interview with Sean woman, and then because you've got a summary on your website of it. But let's let's set the table introduce the show. This is the Wade Keller wrestling podcast, a mailbag Friday edition for January eleventh two thousand eighteen I feel better than I sound. I just want everyone who's worried to know that just been through a ten day, cold and cough. Didn't stop podcasting. And now, my vocal chords are paying a price a little bit. But I'm pushing through and adjacent power from proceeding dot net. Is my guest co hosts second day in a row. He join me for the Thursday flagship yesterday, and we talked a lot about eight w there were a few parts of the discussion. I knew you guys the listeners ask questions about. So I saved them for today. We'll get to some of them and other topics. Also, Jason welcome back to the show a great to be here. And hanging man you do sound rough. I been there at Bill you're paying I got sick right before the holidays, and it still lingering on a little bit. But we are both warriors. And lesser men would not be here today that thank you. Yes. Well, put so. Yeah, let's ivdr. I'm sipping tea between between reading paragraphs here. And you can't shave that when I just talked about lesser men wouldn't be shipping key just doesn't sound rowing state like that. And like you didn't tell me and Honey is the key four one on the air. All right. With the Capital One quicksilver. You earn unlimited one point five percent cashback on every purchase every week. It's easy. That's just the way. I like it. That's. The quicksilver card from Capital One. What's in your water? Capital? One Bank USAA. Hi, it's Jamie, progressive's number one number two employee. Leave a message at the hey, Jamie. It's me, Jamie. This is your daily pep talk. I know it's been rough going ever since people found out about your Capella group mad harmony, but you will bounce back. I mean, you're the guy always helping people find coverage options with the name your price tool. It should be you giving me the pep talk. Now get out there, hit that high note, and take mad harmony all the way to nationals this year. Sorry pitchy. Progressive casualty insurance company and affiliates. Price and coverage match limited by state law. Let's let's let's keep moving on. Oh, I know. That's what I was gonna. I'm gonna ask about the Tony. What was your impression that the XBox interview is one of his have you heard a longer interview Tony candidate? I saw the press scrum. Talk about your impression after the Sean woman interview. Yeah, that's that's what I've seen. So far is the meat east chrome? And then the Waldman interview on, you know, definitely a longtime fan of pro wrestling, and I didn't come away feeling like he's trying to drop references to that too into to win people over. I I got the sense. That's who he is. And I mean going back to when he was a kid in a taped Reiter. He's got to be I don't even off the top of my head. I don't even know how old is. But I'm guessing he's ballpark out our age a little younger probably would. Yeah. Good question. I'm not sure. I mean, just looking at them looks like he's in his thirties. Yeah. So at least probably a little bit young. But he's a longtime fan is washed a variety of wrestling. I I mean, I there wasn't much that I found like a turn on I liked that he clarified some things that the healthcare. I find it. Not to thirty eight years old thirty six just looked so yeah, I like that he clarified the healthcare issue, and the we'll pay and it's by the way, I'm sorry. Jason I have no voice in Monroe opting you in a battling you the healthcare thing. WB offers healthcare to people who are fulltime office employs to they're not doing like, they're not doing anything new if they don't find a way to offer healthcare to people who don't do office work in our our quote, just wrestlers are exclusively wrestler. So I think as a talking point I feel like he's trying to get credit for doing what? He's been doing for years. I remember Taza in L snow joked in some public form about how I think it was both of them. But maybe just one or the other how they like going from us into announcing. Because suddenly they got healthcare. You know, like everybody gets health care except the wrestlers in the so I don't know that he's saying he's going to do anything different than WBZ's been doing forever. No. He hasn't and right now. Good I, and I know that's not going to be the most popular thing with everybody wants to have healthcare. I do to believe me. But right now, it's about getting this business up and running. It's one thing to say WWE with their deep pockets that they've made in the wrestling industry should be doing that for their talent. For eighty w they haven't made a penny off of wrestling at other than whatever merchandise. They sold the other day at the rally. I don't expect them to just up right out. Right out of the gate. Do something like that. I think that it in time. Yeah. There's they should feel the same pressure. That WWE does to take better care of the talented things along those lines. He didn't rule out. You said it was too soon to say when it came to doing more coverage in a more healthcare coverage for the restaurant and same with equal pay for the women. It was it's basically same base pay. So if you don't. You know, it's going to be perception, basically, you know, they'd be like you or equal on say, they feel Brit bake makers equal to join Genoa, for instance. Well, another company might be by turn around and go we can pay brubaker less because she's a woman in this case are saying they won't. And so I it's kind of what I assumed it was going to be if they get Becky Lynch the takes off, then I think her pay is going to be reflected accordingly. And that's that is good. I don't wanna see the last thing. This company should be doing right now. From a business standpoint is going we're going to pay Britt Baker what we pay Chris Jericho too. Because that's fair because it it's silly. And it's a waste of money. Mike question is who is saying that that was a problem? Like, I talked about issues every week. I didn't know that that women were feeling like for their place on the car. They were being paid less than men. Maybe maybe you heard that Jason, and I just missed that conversation, but to go out here and and proclaim in one a Pat on the back for paying women equal demand. It was like I didn't know that that wasn't happening. If you have value and unit Goshi eight as an independent contractor in your draw. Then, you know, those things sort of take care of themselves on the on the independent scene and with WWE. I think the top women are making really good money. So I I just didn't know that was an issue. I, you know, I don't know what the Shorewood in the becky's of the world or making. But I have heard rumblings that there's. I has an essay. But it just it does sound like there are some issues there things could be better with with the way, they perceive aiming WWE system is so arbitrary and the way they do things. But it does sound like they're, you know, it's it's an underlying issue. And as we know because they have no leverage, the talent isn't going to publicly say much about this realistically. And but it does in the end it may be some of the female talent who are bothered by this really have no idea what their male counterparts are making either. Well, and when you look around Rousey, she's the top paid talent in the company right now. Sure. So if you have leverage star power, so to me, the issue was was push. And that and I'm not saying that w doesn't have a problem if women are headlining how shows and they have been and they headlined a pay per view, which has happened. Now, if they if they compare similar all, you know, accounting for any differences similar pay stubs so to speak in there's a difference. That's a problem. But it's only recently women have. Gone from being a mid card novelty division, and to actually being a featured in a major a much more major part of the week to week WB TV shows. So to me, I I'm like, we don't have a long track record of Charlotte. And Rhonda and Becky being on top of how shows where there's been a time for controversy to brew. I just know don't to be paid gigantic money to run around. And they just in the last, you know, six to eighteen months have had this progress of women becoming in. It's great. And I know I've been an advocate for it. And I think it's been underutilized division forever. But it's a new thing that they're in the top tier where you would compare Charlotte to drew McIntyre right now and go I think there should be pretty close or AJ styles and Becky Lynch, their pay should be pretty close. And I I don't know that we've had enough time for that. There to be a difference that became a controversy mixture. I I wouldn't say controversy, but I don't mind them. Saying I didn't see Tony Kahn patting himself on the back over it so much. It was something. Now, I'm sure he had approval over what was said at the rally, but it was something brandy was touting that pointing out to. Yeah. And I would think that brandy would have a better idea than you. And I do when it comes to what some of her former co workers were making. And so maybe it's not as much of an issue as it was. Maybe it is. I don't know. But I think it's a bad message to send I think it speaks to it sets the right tone just in in terms of what's happening in the world. It would with equal pay being an issue there. I think it sends the right message if nothing else. Yeah. What I what I'm waving? A caution flag on is a e w waving certain flags about certain issues and not doing due diligence and looking foolish or making. It seem like they're solving a problem that wasn't a problem or was misperceived as a problem, and they actually don't even have a concrete idea. Of what that's Aleutian is. If they said equal pay for equal men because we're going to split our our talent pay in half. And because we know there's just as many talented women out there as men, and we're going to have the women half, the pay is going to go to women in and be distributed to the female side of the roster and have to the men that would be novel. I don't know that that'd be smart because it might be seventy thirty either way that makes sense depending on your stars are, but they're not saying that they're going. Well, you know, we mean for the same spot on the card, and I think sort of like the healthcare thing, I'm like well doing no that that hasn't been happening at sort of this really new thing. So I I don't know I feel like they're giving themselves credit for solving problems that without a really concrete articulated solution at two things that may not have been as big of a problem as they're claiming they're solving. And so I'm I'm just sort of asking about it because I think it's coming across that way to me a little bit. Yeah. Fair enough. Yeah. Art, a next. Kyle v says he's from Saint Louis. A lot of people seem to think that e w was going to end up on Turner. Whether it's TBS TNT, but Tony Kahn on XBox one-two-three. Sixty said there are several offers out there I can't help. But think that a better option would be the CW? It's a broadcast television station with majority of its programming based on comics, aero flash, Riverdale, etc. I think we can all agree that there's a big crossover fans when it comes to wrestling, and comics, and we know Cody has a relationship with Stephen a male who's one of the stations because stars also the CW has its own free streaming service. Could you see the CW is a good fit for a w or would or be a better home for the new promotion got good question? Jason what do you think? Well, you know, I in in various of Johnny Johnny fairplay crowded. He mentioned the same thing. He he just looked at the demographics. And he's talked about this thinking that CW would be a great fit for them. And it wasn't based on any inside knowledge or anything like that. Or just observation. I I mean. I it's I don't know. I'd have to actually do a little bit of research to kind of break down the pros and cons of it. I can't tell you. It's it's a great idea. Can't tell you. It's a bad idea. I mean, yes, it's a it's a network that's on broadcast. I guess so there is that. But I know like even their some of their highest rated shows, I mean, they don't own the candle to most of what else is on television at SAM's. And so, yeah, I just I don't know. I you're not gonna get if you're looking for a big marketing push. I mean, you're going to get whatever they can give you, but I would think Turner with the NBA deal and things like that. It's going to be more appealing in that way. But yeah, I I don't feel qualified really say at this point. I think it's an it's intriguing and credit Jonny fairplay for for thinking of it. Also, I I think it's a good fit. I think there's something about being on. On a major cable station where progressing used to be that has Italian to the Monday night war, and we're like TNT or TBS Ron with the ability to cross promote through NBA games in sports and hack Conan. And there are other shows that do well has a little more peel than fitting the theme of the CW that said if their clearances the CW and they're on national television broadcast on Tuesday nights and a free streaming service. And they have a kind of tie in with that seems like a good fit with with with Cody, and perhaps the visual approach that they're gonna take to distinguish themselves than than I think it's good to in that can be one of those other options. So I'm intrigued by I think it sounds. It's it's like a promising option if there are multiple options, and by the way, everybody who's negotiating with one station is going to say, they're negotiating with many people. But that was. My next point. Yep. -solutely? Yup. Right. It's Jamie, progressive's number one number two employee. Leave a message at the hey, Jamie. It's me, Jamie. This is your daily pep talk. He w question, and then we'll move to some other topics to maybe hit some other Awa later energy says how do you think WWE is of losing wrestlers to e w and you think they will start to better utilize some of them are even pay them more to keep them from going to a w like, Chris Jericho and pock. I'm really thinking along the lines of the former arch new Japan guys, like former Bullock la- members nakimora, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins danube-rhine. All these guys seem more peeling more likely to go to eighty w then say Randy Orton. Well, yeah. I mean, I I would assume and we talk about the five Jason that AWS going to have that Randy Orton isn't a particularly good fit. And that nakimora Kevin Owen Seth and Brian would be a better fit. How what stage of addressing this internally? Do you think Vincent man is at and what what kind of moves can he make to to insulate himself from needlessly losing talent that that is valuable to him that that he let's let's go and maybe regrets later. Yeah. I you know, we talked a little bit about yesterday in that. I think some of it isn't just the pay. I mean, you can get into bidding wars if he if you choose to. Yeah. I I think pay can improve. But you don't wanna overpay either. I think it comes down to the lifestyle that they create for these guys and the women and in terms of something we talked about like the Roman reigns interview where he talked about just spending all that time navigating the best route from town to town for his house shows during his downtime. Why isn't there a department that takes care of that? And he can do it with their talent they have tour buses why can't through a similar setup for the main roster. They do when they go over seas. Why can't that happen here? The I think that's the type of thing that Vince needs to really give an honest look at I don't think he's going to right now. I think it's going to take him losing some talent. Yeah. He lost Jericho Jericho has been dabbling outside the company for how long clearly there is an issue with novel aka pock on that led to him leaving the company, I think it made number one. I I don't know that ventures are going to be taking this all that seriously and tell the tell. Division partner is announced. And until it is. I mean, I would hope that Vince isn't going to help him not sitting around laughing at this right now. They what a joke. Yeah. There's the this kid's got dad's money behind. I mean, that's a lot of money. And if you get the right network, it's a big deal, and you could be looking at Nitra all over again. So I would hope he learned from his mistakes there and has actually taking this seriously, but I really would start with how can we make this better in terms of lifestyle for the perfect for these men and women? How can we be a better company to work for for these people? And whether that's even just being more open minded in terms of listening to ideas, just different things like that. Because I I don't think it's an appealing place on so many levels for this for the talent to work WWE. It's been able to dictate to wrestlers how the job what the job description is going to be and what the accommodations were going to be. And now they're going to have to but I should say. Now. Now, they're going to have to that's overstating it. There's a good chance in the near future. They're going to be they're going to have motivation to reassess that, and it's going to give WWE wrestlers some leverage that they didn't have before to make some suggestions, or internally have some people make suggestions on their own and management in order to make WWE a great place to be a better place to be when when you're a wrestler. So I it's going to be interesting AWS got a couple more steps to take before. I think they get to the point that Vince starts thinking too seriously about it. But I think it's I think it's on the it's in the back of his mind right now that there's a lot of money here with a confidently and they're talking big the Chicago sell out in less than a half hour landed on Vincent's radar and you're right. Jason the TV deal is it's the next big thing in. That's when I think of inst- goes, you know, damn it. I was I was I on my mind with with wrestlemainia and the XFL and now I got to think about this. And that's that. That's a moment that I think AWS is is hoping happens. As as they go about their business of getting their startup rolled out. I mean in the best thing that could happen for WWE bench spends all of his time focused on the XFL. But I mean, the leverage has been in WWE ownerships favor for so long the story. I always like to point to remember when when they launched the network ever, the the big question fans were asking, you know, hey, how are these guys going to be paid? And believe me, the talent were asking those questions amongst themselves. But unless they had clout they weren't asking they know that went on for months, and it was never addressed to the best of my knowledge, and like some group meeting it just kind of you got what you got. And that that type of thing with leverage now talents going to be able to ask those types of questions of scenario like that came up somehow, and the thing is if it just sort of comes out in the wash that they're really happy with their pay and they like the lifestyle of being on the road. Then they're they're not that wrestler won't won't be a candidate for a w as much as the wrestler, who's got family or a desire to. To have a long career and have some some rest and not work as grinding of a schedule that was a big appeal for W w when w attracted from from the WWF in the Monday night or era, the lifestyle of guaranteed pay for fewer dates, and you know, wrestlers sort of get brought up now through annex t and then before through the indie scene, and then they get to WB often. It's like this badge of honor to be in demand every weekend, and you wanna hustle hustle work work because you get paid for your matches. If a w pays a greater percentage of revenue, and they have a lot of revenue coming in and wrestlers can make eighty percent for forty eighty percent as much money for forty percent as much work that will appeal to some people. And and especially if it means more time at home, perhaps with young kids or a chance to be, you know, chance to be with aging parents or just hang out with friends and watch some football have a life outside of the immersive W W B lifestyle that WWE takes for granted that if you want to be arrested. There's a long line of people who are willing to live that life, and he w in an ideal scenario can change that and Cody certainly in broad languages saying we're going to change this industry. And I think some of the things we're talking about now or what he has in mind, and he's been there. He knows he knows what that lifestyle is. I mean, what a treat. It would be for talented. I don't have to be a New Yorker Chicago the day after Christmas. I mean, it just little things like that at up. Yes. Absolutely. This is fire fighter Raphael Pori yet for firehouse subs. Introducing the new spicy Cajun chicken soup Cajun seasons, grilled chicken, breast zesty cherry peppers and housemaid Cajun male just five fifty five for a medium. Remember a portion of every sub you buy helps provide lifesaving equipment for purse respondents firehouse subs. Enjoy more subs. Save more lives. Limited time only plus tax participating locations. Only the minimum of one million dollars in two thousand nineteen in the firehouse subs public safety foundation by donating point one one percent of every purchase. All right. Let's let's shift to aid WWE topic here. And we'll go to Jason. Well, I know Wade your against a triple threat women's match to headline wrestlemainia, and he says in parentheses IB for it. If the dream Becky versus Rhonda match went ahead. Do they need the title? They have the hottest shoreline going, and I can see Becky costing Rhonda the raw title as a turnabout being fair-play face move bit late. But it's almost Simon Rhonda hoisted, the title overhead all I could hear was your voice calling EA candy, which made me laugh. So thanks for that extra pop falling failing the above. My ideal would be for Becky to win the rumble in refuse to choose a champion demanding to face both champs in your own words to become the champ champ. What are the odds on title unification? So that's his first question. I think Becky Rondo without a title on the line can work. Jason if they can find a storyline way to get there. I'm they can do that the downside is that. That's a match that should headline wrestlemainia. I mean, Becky, I think is the match that it should come after listener Seth I think you want to send a message that the woman that you see every week on raw Ronda Rousey is a bigger star. Then Brock lesser who. They've con conditioned us to believe in. It is a reflection of reality is not particularly interested in anything other than showing up doing the bare minimum and getting his paycheck and fans perceive. It that way in WWE has reinforced that and Brock doesn't do a lot to dissuade. Anyone from thinking that that fiction is also parallel with reality to a ninetieth percentile, Ronda Rousey is different. So if you have the brand name in the equity of wrestlemainia, you want fans when they tune into raw in the weeks that follow the months that follow to think they're watching and Ronda Rousey, the woman who closed out wrestlemainia. And by the way, this Becky Lynch character who came out of nowhere, which is not true. But you know, and became this breakout star that elevates her sets already been on top at wrestlemania people already perceive him. He's going to be perceived. Becky is pliable right now her the fan perception based on where she is on the card can change based in and get a huge boost from wrestlemainia. So that's why I think putting Rhonda Becky on last one on one is what makes the most sense. I like though the title being on the line because it builds up the championship won the championship. If you take that away. Now, you're headlining wrestlemainia with a non title match and demeaning the championships a little bit by having them lower on the car. I think it title will be involved. I do think they're going triple threat. I do think it will headline the show the only real potential exception. I see two of them undertaker's last match the rock coming back and working match. I I am even that I would still consider putting the women on last. But I I could see Vince McMahon feeling like no, we close the show with either Dwayne Johnson or the undertaker, and I could see undertaker having a last match alas match ever or just just regular match. Who would that opponent b that would justify leapfrogging Seth listener and Rhonda versus bacteria. Rhonda Becky, Charlotte. Nobody unless it's the last match it, this is it definitively takers last ride that may headline your show, but which opponent then fits it. Honestly doesn't matter because it's takers last ride but made wanted you'd want it to be an attractive opponent. It could be it could be drew McIntyre guy. We've talked about before that role on. But just it really the selling point. Is at its undertaker's final match. I'm wondering who besides drew McIntyre makes any sense at all for undertaker. Oh, I've been I haven't really thought about it. But I can't even say that I'm anxious to see that match to be honest with you. I it's I, but I'm not really anxious to see any undertaker match. I mean, hey, if they're going to do it right and mcintyre's going to retire the undertaker. Okay. That's a big thing. I I mean who knows is it going to be no dramatic entire takes tombstone immobile heat him up again right after mania somehow. I mean, they they could put LARs Sullivan in that spot and give him a rub from losing taker and just you know, he's the monster who gets fed to take her and go old school. That's not a headline wrestlemainia match. But it's a way to get undertaker on the show if you're trying to stretch out undertaker wrestlemainia matches until until her retirement, but I just I don't this year already. I can sense it. There's going to be a dramatic drop off in our listeners. In our readers talking about undertaker matches. Sure. Yeah. I think after the fiasco last year, which was just botched and and where undertaker is physically and just the list of opponents who is already gone through. I just don't think there's a big demand. I mean, could I mean Shinsuke Nakamura that you know, that would have been good two years ago? I think Shinsegae's been defined down enough that would seem like a mid card match. And I don't think he won't undertaker in a mid card match. I wish that weren't true. And I don't know if there's a way to rehab him where you could get him back up where that would seem like a red hot match Simone. Joe comes to mind that would certainly be you've been defined down to. I mean, you could you could eat them up. But it yeah. It's just a shame with Donald Joe. No. I know I know. So I mean, that's the thing is I'm sort of, you know, just thinking consolation, I I will throw this name out there. And it wouldn't shock me when you know in this isn't a headline wrestlemainia match, but it's an undertaker match undertaker, Barron carbon. Yeah. Yeah. I think the again, the attraction is its undertaker last match. And that's the way it headlines the show if undertaker is just having another match. I don't care where it goes on the show, it it shouldn't be the last match. Just because it's taker I'll throw in Johnson and again only because I know but Mark for at it. Well, keep in mind. You didn't see and has been claiming he had too many beers that day. And so maybe they take another crack at actually last year, they didn't even properly promote the damn match. And I we've found out why. But maybe they maybe they would feel like takers last ride, and and all the hype they could do with Johnson intake her going, and maybe they would feel like it's it's it's worthy. I I don't really want to see it. But they may feel differently. Has there ever been in sports and athlete who wanted a rematch because he had too many beers the first time and. I mean, what an unprofessional thing to say rumors. Yes. Oh for sure like up, and I I mean, we're laughing about it it does overly. So but wanted unprofessional for to save flippantly? Undertaker beats him. He's like, wow. But I was drunk. It's like in Europe. And we did we ever see him drinking beer at wrestlemania and they kept showing him. He may have had a beer in his hand. But it was like he was chugging them. No. So I mean to me it's just like, it's that's just sina goofing off and being over it and not really doing or saying things that are are particularly smart for the circumstances. But I I don't have a job. She didn't promo these days. I know. And it's been that way. It's been that way for about a year and a half, you know, I mean, I really felt him kind of, you know, clocking out a little bit in what you know, it just felt like there was an on off switch and when it was on. There was no one more dedicated. And when it flipped off when he turned it off and moved on to other things when he hit h forty I just I think he's in a different stage, and he can't even pretend to care anymore. I mean coming out there and doing the meta pro, you know, this is where I stand in the ring. And then somebody comes out and says this and all that is like mocking the formulaic nature of WWE, which I don't think serves Cam or w. W e draw attention to that. That's like I mean, what's going to do next go, you know, when every tag match when the baby face makes a hot tag. You know, what's happening on this side of the ring the heels also making a hot tag. But you're not supposed to notice that like. You know, it's like every time the announcer says he we have a new champion as the reference counting. That means. There's going to be a kickout because they only if it's going to be a pin fall. They don't want to take the quote surprise away. So they wait till the third count before saying, it's a new champion. But if they say it before the third count, we know there'll be a kickout why not just to twenty minute promo breaking down all the cliches and bad habits. WWE? I just I'm just I'm over John CENA. I just when he comes on the screen. I just sort of brace myself for before counterproductive content coming our way, I blame the hair I think it's all because of it's the hairs fault. It's taken over his brain. So now, I do hope that he can find the magic at least Romania season, you know, just up care enough to to quit doing this. And actually take it seriously again, totally great. Yup. I think I said that on on my rob Keller outline for VIP members that you know, if they do seen drew at mania, I want to be really worked up I want this to seem like in supporting to sina and not have him show up and just sort of act like, well, you know, I'm. Legacy star. And I'm here to put over drew, and he's going to be a bigger star because of wrestling may, and you know, win or lose like, I don't want one of those shoulder. Shrug promos. I want him to be worked up and fired up in a serious way. Where we believe he wants to take into drew. I think he does that to to to the audience enter. Yeah. Absolutely. All right back to Jason them. He says tag teams with WB struggling to fill their top five or top level. Five hours of TV what will have ins- what will cause Mr Bush the tank division? It's solo to talent. And with heavy machinery coming up love big push for the division. The revival had the sixty match the two thousand sixteen in event. So misused on the main roster when they've been healthy as a travesty. I mean, I think when we see the the revival. Do you know these interviews where they're in this smarmy he'll mode going tag team division integrity? It's Vince having, you know, having the mock the very idea that the take division is prestigious, and and has integrity. He sees that as a as a sniveling he'll. Thing to say not something you would say with a straight face. And I think that's our tell that he is not going to treat the technique division seriously. But he ought to it would behoove him to do. So. Yeah, it's the the state it's sad. Because you know, they're I obviously think this side is deeper just has better teams haven't been just damaged. But most of those teams have had the titles on numerous occasions. I don't care anymore. Whether new day use os or shame essences are win their matches. I just don't I it's gonna take kind of finding a way to make me care again about who holds the tag titles between those three teams. And even if somebody beats shamed since czar that's not in that mix. Okay. You still need to come up with a way to make me care about new day. Shame Azzaro and use os. When they inevitably face those team for the titles that I so I mean, the raw tag division it just. It just was spotlighted in the lumberjack match. It just a collection of crap. It's awful the I mean AO P wasn't out there. They've done right. By those guys either. I revival are great. They it just writes itself, you put the tax titles on them. And you let them work dramatic, and you put the right baby face challenges in place, and they just haven't done it. And so, yeah, I I don't know what it's going to take. I think honestly, I think it takes triple h taking over creative in from bench award. Getting a lot more say in order for any change to occur because Vince has been in this moment for years now and the good part. The good news is triple h does seem like he's in line for that it might be twenty five years away. But he does seem next in line regardless of the time line, and when he does have control take teams are important, take t- matches arm important. I'd like to see shame. Asus are on the new day broken up, and I'd like to see Andrade and some o- Jobe team and Raymond story and Moustapha Libya team and shake that up a little bit like take. Some singles wrestlers team him up take law singles wrestlers who've been teaming and break them up and get and I think that creates a lot of fresh match ups, you know, we got lip service three weeks ago from the mcman saying is going to be fresh matchups in new opportunities while a big part of that can be breaking up tag teams that are stale being grouped together. And then you just give sanity that TV time. You give Joe and and Andrade TV time as as a team in the tag team division in instead. So I to me there's some opportunity there. I mean, I think we've covered it. I it's I it just it's frustrating to see what I I've never understood when he go back to when Vince took over, and, you know, the the the company from his father through those early years tacking wrestling with such a big deal that early hulk HOGAN main eight years some of the great team say had where he just completely lost his passion for tag team. I I don't know why he did when they when they play such a vital role for him. Yeah. The mid eighties where glory era for tag teams, just like in the attitude era. And I mean, it's just it's such a way to fresh. Shame. Zara would be superstar right now if they have been wrestling singles matches instead of wrestling as the bar, but there comes a point where the bar is stale and they've wrestled everybody. And now you wanna see them be singles wrestlers, that's the value of tag team division. And then you can take rain all eat. And and Andrade Joe would a good match on smackdown. This week make them a team for six know t-. Take teams for six months. You can have some full-time take. Teams like the revival like Anderson and gallows Usoz the sanity, but you mixing mix match them with. We'll take him sort of made up of singles wrestlers in w doesn't it doesn't seem to be part of their formula for giving us a fresher product in fresh matchups. No, no, I'm with you. Tim be says I was wondering your thoughts on how becky's title shot at the Royal rebel effects were prospects Romania and the potential match with Rousey, my initial reaction was at this is terrible news as it may preclude her from winning the rubble match. However, as I thought about it more that's not necessarily the case we've seen examples in the past wrestlers competing in the rumble in addition to title matches on the same night. In fact, Sasha banks has already booked to do so this year. This also makes me think she's unlikely to face Oscar at mania for this MAC title since they're doing it now had Charlotte one this week. I think it'd be more concerning for becky's chances of facing Rhonda as they would have blown through another Charlotte. Oscar match prior to mania, my hope is we get back versus Rousey and Charlotte versus Oscar at wrestlemainia. I might attributing these events overly optimistically to fit my desired outcome, or does this make sense and seem likely thanks for all the great content. I Jason I mean, I keep trying to figure out what the most likely. Breath is and it's it's like a the plink. Oh game on prices. Right. And where you just you can see all these passable might take. But you can't predict what what what part of the maze. It's gonna bounce off of where it lands. I mean, I I think there's a number of good options. My my preferred option is Becky Rhonda one on one I think Charlotte messes with messes add up, I don't think it'll be awful Charlotte's in the match. But I think it's taking something away from what should be a Becky moment. And then you can save Charlotte Rousey for summer slam or or later and give it its light. So I see a lot of pass. But I don't think Tim is that off on on his scenario being one of the possibilities. No. I made. That's what I hope they do as well. But yeah, I'm with it. It's it's tough to say, my guess remains somehow triple threat, but I hope I'm wrong. Yeah. Yup. All right. Let's go to Lenten lease. He says has there been any talk about all elite wrestling among the wrestlers. In WWE. I don't know what has come out. So I don't know what has come out on social media about it. But surely people are talking about it. I didn't know if you're aware of any reports, I hadn't heard thing. Of course, we're talking about it. And of course, they are smart enough to know not to talk about it on social media. Can you imagine? If like Sammy's ane was like go might be. I don't know what he's doing. Yeah. Although I wouldn't give Tyke a high odds of of making it onto the radar VW either. But but I mean who knows I mean, maybe maybe that would work out. But yeah, Sammy's ain't going social media going good luck to you guys gonna make the wrestling industry. Better place is dooming Sammy drew McIntyre isn't gonna go on social media and say, hey, now, I have leverage, you know. I mean, they just know better than to do that. Right. And it shows how much impact slash TNA has changed over the earth. Because their talent have no problem doing that. I know. Yeah. Yup. Could point. I mean, there was this was a different time for impact wrestling like that talent would be in trouble. They would Dixie Carter would not approve that the company officials would be like what are you doing? Yeah. Yep. I bet there's some impact wrestlers and our waitress which were also talking about eighty w this is good. This is a potentially good situation for a lot of a lot of restaurants wanna make a fulltime living in if this just creates more full-time jobs for for, you know, twenty twenty six more wrestlers that that's good for the wrestling industry. And ultimately, it's good for WWE. Because some of that talent is going to switch spots. There's going to be some rotation. And that means that that there's fulltime people not quitting wrestling and getting better at their craft and getting a national name who eventually WB couldn't make a big offer to enter again and dropping money with and vice versa. So his isn't a bad thing. Jim Ross would always right in his Ross report website updates. You know competition is is good for everybody. When he was working for WWE. You know, he would outright say that. But it is true. It it does lead to a deeper talent pool, and it does allow for for not trades. But wrestler switching rosters and having dream match ups that that were thought about for years and now finally are possible. And it gives the talent leverage of an edge is such a key is something that's been missing for so long real leverage with WWE. I mean, they always have it in between. Well, I mean all away NL w just the smaller end companies. But there's there hasn't been any in. That's John CENA had it with Hollywood Dwayne Johnson handed with Hollywood there are some exceptions. But not with another wrestling company, realistically. Some guys may have preferred hey, you know, I I like new Japan I to go work there. But it wasn't huge money offered. You know that sort of it. Now, there's real leverage absolutely are John from Tennessee says I just watched Braun die a slow death in the ring. Here's given given terrible material. And I'm beyond over his monster voice. The most awkward promos I've seen in quite some time the character isn't dead yet. But it's getting there and what a waste of rock lies. Dinner is zero interest in this tunnel match. It would be better if they brought in Bob Holly for a rumble match with listener book, John for Tennessee VIP member. Thanks, john. We're talk about bronze Stroman. And what you see for him in two thousand nineteen Jason because that was a needlessly disastrous segment on Monday for him. Yeah. I think he's gonna fail again at the rumble somehow some way, and I don't know they it was a mistake to turn him. He was going to be sacree. He was going to be the latest guy that was over the people liked that they were gonna sacrifice in favor of Roman ranch. And it the timing was was rough in that. If it wasn't a couple of weeks later that Roman had to announced his departure temporary departure from the company, hopefully temporary, and they had to flip Bron back that didn't help, but he was damaged before that. If you go back to that first bronze German Brock Leser match. People were freaking out about Braun strowman that was meaningful. Nash everybody. Was looking forward to that. What are they going to do? And I think most people assumed probably going to be listener retaining. But you never know and had and it didn't have to be on winning there. But had the plan been we're going to move forward with this. We're going to have a full on. But it was all about Roman. He's been another guy who paid the price for that. And now, yeah, they haven't the character needs to grow. And he hasn't grown in any way. It's still fee. Fi fo phone promos and Ivan like when they when they ran into the issue with Roman and flipping Braun strowman back baby quickly. I haven't suggested the idea of sitting the guy down and having him own up in this. Hey, I made a mistake. I it speak in a normal voice because I'm with him this grunting giant stuff that he's dealing. It's run. Its course. Yeah. I think it has to I think some time some time away coming back under the right circumstances. And he might be a wrestler who is best. Utilized not fulltime on TV e- can work. How shows full? Time a little off the radar but having him make special appearances and be built up for big matches kind of more Andre the giant special attraction than a guy who's just sort of. They're forcing it a bad segments. Just because he's on payroll and everybody works fulltime that could do him into. But developing some layers to his character. He's so damaged by the he'll face, you know, the he'll face he'll face. He'll face turned type thing that he does to destroy characters. I don't think fans know who he is or what he stands for anymore. And I don't think that can be underestimated homeport that is. And I think they've done pretty much all the, you know, big stunts that you can do with some. I mean at some point you just set the bar. So what do you do to top it? And I I don't I mean, they'll probably try another stunt. I'm not saying there's nothing left to do with him. But that's what really got him over. And I think they're autumn ideas. Yeah. I do too. All right next. We'll go to Shane from Dublin. Ireland in regard to Hogan's raw appearance this week. There has been talk from some people wondering why HOGAN didn't get more of a negative reaction. Personally. I think many fans in the arena would Abboud HOGAN had the circumstances been different. And if he had not been paying tribute to me, gene, Oakland, but they didn't want to disrespect me, gene. With that. Being said, I'm surprised more people haven't been more critical of WW before this. It's extremely clear that they want who are going to be more of a presence on their programming since its return from suspension and therefore the decision to bring back on TV in Saudi Arabia, and again here both places where he would not be likely to receive negative responses was entirely delivered on their part in leaves a sour taste in the mouth, your thoughts on this. And do you think the media response this week will mean he's less likely to be booed in any future appearances? Jason interesting take on that. I largely agree. This was as I called when the also it was made sneaky sneaky way to get HOGAN on TV because who's going to do HOGAN paying tribute to his best friend. You know that that's not going to happen. I don't know how many fans who attend Arar smackdown are super anti HOGAN enough to boom. But I did sense Monday. Even with gene circumstances. It's not there's not like this passionate pent-up desire to cheer HOGAN posing in the ring and cupping his ear. No, no. I mean, a lot of cameras out people seemed excited as I thought I heard some boos after the first wave of cheering for his entrance. Didn't last long didn't if there if they were at near the rest of the segment, I I go back to I'm totally with you. I mean, it was a sneaky way to get him on the show it it. He was allowed to go out there and not have to address anything as far as why he was back. It wasn't like he was back to making me a culpa. He was there to pay tribute to Gino kirwin. And so they got through the first ho. Appearance without him having to address anything, and I'm guessing now if they do opt to bring him back at any point they'll feel like they don't need to address it then either. And it'll just you know, life goes on I'm hoping it's just a I hate to say, but a Saudi thing, I I don't know what benefit they think they get from having HOGAN back on their television television shows in twenty nineteen. It's I man I mean, I I don't think it's worth it. I just I I think it's a turn off to a number of people, even if they're not at the arena buoyant. Yeah. I'm not sure how dedicated WWE Jason in in getting him back. I think there's a thought if we can make it work will make it work. But I don't feel like this is as they say now a hill they're going to die on like, I think they have enough other stuff going on that if they can get HOGAN at a circumstance to be cheered and utilize him. They well, I think the Saudi thing was more the Saudis wanted him. And this thing was he was so tied with gene. It was a chance to test the waters in a safe way where they have complete. Possible. The unite -bility that this was anything, but a one off. And I think the best that they got from the fans in that building. Was this probably isn't something you should make a priority. You know? I I don't know. What message they end up taking from the fans because it was positive. It wasn't pandemonium the whole command days. But there were no sustain booze day. The crowd seemed happy to see him kind of tie. Yeah. I it's it would it may have been different a different story. And some of the two he's in his, you know, he's so associated with the state of Florida now that Wang being with the show being in Florida. Probably didn't hurt matters. Any I. Yeah. I I mean, I'm hoping this is when I say it's tied to the Saudis. I think they still I assume they still are intended to go back there. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Saudis want to do more business with HOGAN and having him on the shows. So I guess this is their way of keeping hulk HOGAN around occasionally. And by the way, I don't think we should resign ourselves. To saying. Yeah, they're probably going back to Saudi Arabia. I think it's in abhorrent decision for them to make and at every mention of it. It should be criticized. I think that there should be at least a one year moratorium on on on accepting money from Saudi Arabia. There's a lot going on to Khashoggi even even this week on the I think it's ten weekend of her Serie of of his murder and the the attack on freedom of the press that the money that WWE is accepting from Saudi Arabia is a product of stamping out freedom of the press in their own country. And that money went exist if that regime didn't use I heavy fists to stomp out avoid of dissent. And I think that they should be held accountable by everybody for for doing that. And I don't think there's any excuse if they get dragged court by Saudi Arabia, what courtroom isn't going to be sympathetic to WWE saying there was fan outrage over us associating with this country after what are. Our own CIA said that their leader that we touted on our first event orchestrated this brutal murder this brutal, torture and murder of a US resident with family who are US citizens in the area. I think fans should not accept WWE going back there. And w we needs to pay the price that comes with pulling out because the reason they got paid this out of proportion crazy money for a house show is because there was great risk involved. And when you put your life savings on one dot on one number on the relent wheel in it doesn't pay off. The that that's the price of pays for taking a risky bet. And w we took a risky bet when they got in business with this regime, and they can say well other businesses were doing it while everybody's gotta pay a price for doing it for for plugging their nose and in accepting their way of doing business and saying, well, we're part of making them better. Well, we found out that that was a smokescreen their way of doing business was brutally torturing and murdering a US resident Washington Post columnist who spoke out against the regime, and that's not those aren't people we should be doing business with. So I just as we approached the time went WB might make that next announcement. I am hopeful that fans react the way that they did to crown jewel, which is booth the hell out of any graphic any any mention of it. The only I think breathing space WB has us to run the show and not mention it not mention on the website not mentioned on TV send the wrestlers there. Take the money, but don't give Saudi Arabia any any of the publicity that they wanted otherwise. And it's in their best interest to not. Attention to it. Jason you think I'm being too strong about it. No, no. I agree with everything you say, it's just the reality. Is they went there when things seemed to be at their peak with that situation. They had the they they could have pulled out. They chose not to they took the money. I don't see them turning down the money. Now, I think they got through what was most likely to be the toughest show. They would do their. They would get the most criticism for it. And I think they will be anxious to go back and collect a paycheck as wrong as it is. I think the the turnaround time was pretty short on on cancelling it because it was so close to the Khashoggi situation. And they said it was a difficult decision. And that's all they said, and they didn't give really any indicators other than sort of a soft comment about their projections for twenty nineteen remain unchanged. Which was a way of saying we're still going to accept Saudi money in our business plan. That's what they anticipated at the time. They said that I think the crowd response leading to them not mentioning Saudi Arabia as a country and booing the graphics, and then even after the event took place not even saying the words crown jewel anymore. Just saying last Friday like they just said last Friday this happened last Friday that happened. I think it's an indication that the fan backlash was stronger than they imagined. And you know, we talk a lot about eight W, and a w talking about things that they think will sound good to their fan base that they perhaps January lane their heart likely genuinely heart wanna make better about the wrestling industry. Even if they don't have it all worked out yet. Better health care better equal pay. Proceeds going to gun violence for the Jacksonville shoulder their second show under the Awa banner. That's all good WB spent a lot of time building up their image through charity work, and it deflated with this Saudi move and with ratings being down like they are how much of the ratings being down, and we don't know on network subs. How much of a hit they took because of fans being disgusted with crown jewel. But if internally they have data that indicates that that's part of what's going on here. They have an incentive in the long run to repair to repair their image. And as Vince McMahon kind of opted on TV in the baron Corbin story line just be on the right side of history and make a decision that isn't about money, but it's about doing the right thing. And I'm more optimistic than maybe I'm optimistic than I should be sort of cancels out. I guess in saying it that way. But I'm a little more optimistic that that they will put a hold on it. And that we won't there won't be an event there. At least the first six months of this year as as things work themselves out in other business leaders in the country that are are less dependent on immediate public support. In feedback test the waters and our government works out its relationship with Saudi Arabia little more before they go back with a high profile, public entertainment. I hope you're right seniors believing. I just think this company is money driven. They make huge money from this deal. And I think they're just going to continue to try to cash in. I mean as much as they may have done those things you said they also had their talent out there. Those who took part with sing it was the right move to make and and just basically trying to put some weird positive spin on this and doing it for the people in all of that. And I think when push comes to shove if they do postponed into the second half of the year. I don't think the deal changes. I think maybe they do to show. Shows in the second half of the year to make up for the one they missed or they tack went on something like that. But I don't think they're out of the Saudi business. I didn't think that Ronda Rousey and Randy Orton saying, yeah, I think we should go. You know, we're changing we're we gotta be part of change. If we pull out it's going to be worse. I mean, I didn't find it particularly sophisticated argument. In fact, the opposite of it. But I also put that was my take. But I also don't think people bought it. I didn't sense that you know, I mean are anecdotal feedback. And it continues to come in unsolicited from people saying I cancelled, and I won't come back until I until I feel I've I've I've sent a message or or that there's good reason to believe to be as changed on this crunch will thing I I don't I didn't send in looking at the crowd reaction and heck TV ratings and networks ups, I think fans didn't by what Randy and Ronda said, and and look down upon them for defending something that's indefensible. So I don't think they're PR. They're they're they're tepid PR response to try to spend it positively actually. He worked. So I used to see where this. Yeah. I'm just I'm curious to see what their next move is in this regard. I think that message played to that part of the crowd that doesn't care. They just want to be entertained. They don't care how they don't care. What blood money they get anything like that? And it gave them something to cling to. I don't know that they were thinking they're going to win anyone over. I think they were just kind of playing to that base. If you will. Yep. Yeah. I think there's there's something to that. All right next. Andrei says is Tony Kahn and other Dixie Carter spending daddy's money on his progress. And fantasy also many are saying that Cody and the bucks will be able to give us something different. With a w didn't seem like our weight, your new Japan put any constraints on them. So why should we expect anything but more of the same is that fair Jason? Yeah, I'm happy this came up because I think. Vince McMahon junior are Vince McMahon was looked at probably the same way. Billy Corgan was certainly looked at the same way. Anybody that comes into the wrestling industry that has some money that that was a, and I think you have to be by large a fan. I mean, there's been executives that were moved into wrestling. But realistically ownership there's some level of probably appreciation if not outright Vandam for it is going to be looked at as a huge money. Mark it just the way it is. Tony Kahn's going to have to accept just as Billy Corgan had to accept that. People are going to view them that way until they do something to change that perception, and it I think two point Billy Corgan has changed the perception with some he's not out there spending millions upon millions of dollars. Like Tony Kahn, apparently is an investing in a product that he doesn't know if it's going to go anywhere, you can question the business model what it's leading to an all that. The point is he hasn't spent a fortune on this that as best we can tell. And then we'd Tony Kahn. I think. Yeah. People are when they hear about all the big money that's being spent on the bucks, and Cody and all the talent in general are going to look at this and say money, Mark. And maybe he is. But maybe he's not, you know, I just think it's one of those things where any outsider, quote, unquote, outsider comes in with deep pockets and wants to invest in pro wrestling, they're going to be viewed that way now, and it's not just by fast. It's going to be by people within the industry as well. And the thing about Tony Kahn is if you can talk to them about wrestling, and he's going to talk your ear off. And he's going to know a lot about it. I mean, that's absolutely true. And I think the perception of fair on fair with Dixie is that this was like a play toy for her. And the what we're seeing with Tony Kahn is that this is a passion and a dream that. That he's granted. He's he's doesn't say spent a lotta time in London. Yeah. Like half to have much time because of the the Fulham soccer team. Yeah. And so and he's busy with that. And he's busy with the Jaguars. And he talks about having no social life in no time for anything else. I think he's going to be relatively hands off. But in terms of day to day. But I think the the idea that he's just spending daddy's money is is a it's it's an unfor- blanket statement. I think when you look at Tony linking up with Cody on the bucks. I it's it's a positive sign that he wants to do something different and start from the ground up. I just I mean, I understand the comparisons. And you know, what in in a few months, maybe they'll be more more parallels than than than than we hope are true there. But so far, I don't really see signs of it. I mean, I see someone who's a a genuine wrestling fan who's already super busy and has an. Season opportunity, the take the the idea, and in what is what is already there on a small scale with Cody in the box and turn it into something special. And I think he sees it as a business opportunity and he stressed. He's he's run the numbers and he's run the business plan. I just get the sense that he's a serious person in that. This is something he has knowledge of an his passionate about feels connected with. But I don't think he's a money Mark. And I don't think that he's it's a vanity project. I think it's a it's a labor of love and a a strategic business move. And so far so far. That's the indications. I have it could turn out that we the more relearn. It's not that. But to me, that's where the early signs point as for Cody and the box. They didn't have full creative control to execute their vision in our waitress Japan. So, you know, being the elite is is Matt Nick Jackson's project, that's an that's an example of their creativity. All in was an example of what they do when they have control and they liked it. They got a taste of running their own show. It didn't go never again. They said. Yeah. This this was fun. And let's do the skin Cody is is super motivated, and I think is the type of personality that can take this on. And we'll have you know, people are bringing up ego with Cody that maybe that's going to be a problem. But I think you have to have some you don't have to. But I think it's it's it's helpful in pretty consistent for people who are in business and take on the workload in the headaches. That Cody is going to be dealing with. You have to be doing it in part because you want to establish some sort of a legacy and to do that. They're feeding an ego. When you want to have a public perception of building something that people recognize you for so I think so far it's serving Cody well and. I mean, it could be a product that we watch. And we're we're rolling is going. Oh, my God, the, you know on an individual basis, and maybe in the majority look at the product and go, well, we got excited about that. But now, we know we shouldn't have they don't have a clue what what fans are looking for. That was awful. I mean, we had those moments Jason with early TNA. You know, the the the ducks in the the masturbating midget in the trash can whatever I don't. I can't remember all the dumb things that we saw early on where we're like. Oh, God is this option? Yeah. The Johnsons tax. Yes. And so, you know, there were things early on where we're just like this is this is what you felt you didn't get to express creatively until you had control. So you know, it remains to be seen. But I think the early signs are promising. But they're absolutely are things. I wish I was hearing that I'm not hearing at this point. But it's not up to them to show their hand on. It's not their obligation to show their hand on everything or even having all work. Out yet. I just hope that they are able to work at all out amongst themselves because Cody in the box have a. Pretty sharply different visions of what pro wrestling is. Yeah. I would hope that Tony Kahn isn't sitting around worrying about what the perception of him is I it's not the same thing. And there may be more of a backstory than I realized what I know you had that incident at the full match. I believe were he almost got into a physical altercation with somebody who was yelling at him about ruining the team or something. There was something on Twitter about that. I hope he's not I again, I don't know the circumstances. But I hope he's not sitting around worrying about what the fans think of him to that level because again and within the industry it's approve it business like any business. And I think if the wrestlers and the fans perceive him as money, Mark, I it's just up to him to go out there and prove it who cares. What people are thinking. Now, go out there, and basic don't do it for this reason. But prove them wrong. Let your actions speak louder than your words when it comes to worrying about the your perception right now. I mean, I understand you're going to want to get the perception out there that just based on what we've. Gene. They're good people. You talked about the charity thing they want to send that message. They want to you know, you see is talking about his fandom. So I think he's trying to whether it's just him being hammer. He's trying to connect on that level. You know, there's maybe something to that. But yeah, I it's just natural. That's the perception it's daddy's money. I all of that. It doesn't matter. You know? And and look there's been plenty of company started on daddy's money that turned out to be pretty successful. And hopefully, it will be one of them. That's and not every son should be criticized for continuing on in the family business. That's something you you should not use eat there should be scrutiny. But you should have to earn the reputation of skating by or or or standing at third base thinking you hit a triple when you were born there, and that that I think you should have to earn that bad reputation. Not just be a gifted it. So to speak people should be fair. And wait, wait this out a little. Bit. Art bec- has an odd scenario. But I throw Jason in two thousand one WWE screwed up the invasion angle do agree. Imagine the first episode of FOX MAC down in October. And e w invades, do you think that would work, and how would you vote along shot? I know so go ahead. Jason I'll just hand that over to you, you'd think they botched the angle there were they were handcuffed a bit in terms of who they had access to. But they still on as far as like if that were to happen. It would be looked at some families. It's so some fans would be giddy and think it was the biggest thing I mean, there'd be a lot of disappointment that like, it's an invasion angle. And it's not a company. But now if obviously this isn't happening, but hypothetically, if it did, I think the reaction would be excitement from some fans, if they got past the aid of you is is isn't happening. But also who are these guys which Erico in some case, you know, they're gonna know Cody they're gonna remember him from WWE. The look w we Fanstone under the bucks are and not all, but I'm just saying a lot casual fans they haven't been exposed to that. Maybe they've heard of them maybe not on that sort of thing. So I mean, it would be a large scale invasion of like with the numbers. They have right now would be like a big faction invading, which is what it's a little bit bigger than what we were fa- fantasy booking if the bucks and co. Odeon Kenny all sign and Adam page all sign with WWE was hey this five man faction. Plus, brandy that could you know, where do they end up that could be a lot of fun? But yeah, I I mean, I kind of I probably already wasted. I should on his I would I would agree with your last statement just in the sense that come on. I mean, Tony Kahn, you think he's going to mess around. And do a press scrum, and and podcast interviews, and and all this and put his name out there for of Vince McMahon, raw invasion angle and the lines of nexus involving Cody who've instincts his amid Carter in the bucks. Who invents his is would be it would be on the revival level. I mean, come on he sold on the extra fell. And this is the family's way of getting out of that. Worthless. NFL for for the mighty XFL. You can't rule it out like come on. Yeah. It's no, it's it's an awful idea for anybody to even consider as a possibility. I mean, it's just like it won't work. It's completely. The opposite of absolutely every indication that we have what Cody in the bucks. Wanna do? I I mean, it's just yeah. This this now if Cody and the bucks were were forming, a global force wrestling type thing, which is a brand in a website, but and some wrestlers identified with it. But there wasn't Tony Kahn, you could say, well, maybe if things don't work out, they could partly this into an invasion, and that, you know, if everything fell apart, the TV doesn't go through Tony Kahn pulls out, and the bucks, and Cody sort of keep it alive with a couple of events. And and and all of a sudden, and then, you know, chasm Daniels and hangman and Cody in the box, and Kenny, you know, show up on raw on on raw smackdown. Next fall. I mean that can happen. But that is not the direction things are going right now that would mean things completely fell apart. That's certainly not the master plan. Interesting comment here from Sean he says feel free to note comes up with someone else. We'll no it hasn't. I'm do think. One of the subtle changes on Ron smackdown post McMahon TV announcement of impending changes could be that some promos are now add lipped between Drouin scene at the beginning of raw bronze fumble and the Sasha Jackson actions. Those promos felt unscripted that may have been the intention, and I bought what they were trying to sell however came across the challenge to the performance from Vincent company to sink or swim, particularly broad given Brock in Paul's reaction of is at the best you can do in this instance, Braun sink it. Interesting to see how smackdown plays out with this in mind. How unfair would that be in a self-fulfilling prophecy, of instance? Yeah, we're going to go on scripted. And we're gonna put Braun strowman of all people out there to go in scripted to prove that everybody needs scripts like, nobody says the show is in authentic, and therefore everybody should be just put out there to sink or swim without guidance and without delay. Turning between wrestlers who can just cut their own promo like Kevin Owens or John senior a dramatic tire. And those who need help and guidance and bullet points if not word for word scripts. I mean, the key is is making sure that you cater to the strengths and weaknesses of each wrestler and not have a one-size-fits-all approach. And so anyway, couple things are Jason do you think they did that? And first and foremost, did did you sense it there might have been more living going? I I didn't think about it. I just don't know what happened was if he forgot his lines. If they were trying to kill time waiting for halftime of the college football game. I I don't know. I mean, it was just that bad that I'm like what the there has to be an excuse for this. But I think we'd be hearing, you know, hey, this is what's going on. Now, they're giving us more freedom to go out there and do show. I I don't think that's what's happening. No. I didn't think it jumped out as as as obviously I think the Brock Braun thing was awkward for. Other reasons other than telling Braun to just wing it. I think if Ron was told the wing it he would have been more prepared. I think he got a bad script and forgot his work. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. And and so one or the other was that play there. And I don't think I mean, if they go on scripted less scripted there's a place to try that out and see how it works. And and doing a self fulfilling prophecy of somebody who isn't equipped to cut a promo in doing. So in an awkward way where they're interacting with somebody else staring at a camera in not having the feedback of being the look at the face appall, unless there was a huge, you know, a huge disadvantage, you know, LeBron's staring at a camera in the ring alone is not a good op that should ever happen period. You know, what I mean like it, right? He should be standing in the ring with the microphone and have all day to think about what he's going to say help on some talking points, and then go out there and do it. And that's the way to test. The waters on that. Agree. Yep. All right, next miles from Seattle says I got a couple questions being in pro wrestling's postseason in so many contracts in question are there wrestlers you're interested in seeing change companies or any pendant wrestlers? You're interested in seeing sign exclusive deals with someone is influential as junior heavyweight wrestling Kushida is could he still suffer? The fate of other Japanese stars of just getting lost in the shuffle or relegated to a five live and with Kenny stepping away. Kenya? Mega a stepping away. From the ring sounds like he lost his smile and potentially holding up new Japan for an agreement with a w could we see Kenny take a break until April and come back to new Japan. If AWS strikes deal with new Japan around the MSG show. Thanks for everything you do and the work you put into covering progressing, thanks miles. So Jason any any wrestlers you'd like to see change companies? Oh, gosh. I mean, I it's we're entering fantasy book in care Tori there. I mean. Also, we don't have all day. I mean, honestly, there's a lot of people. I would like to see leave in some cases, go back next. He leave WWE go to annex t there's some people had from all elite that I think would have been fun to see Kenny omega firms, and it's still I guess technically could show up and WWE. There's there's all sorts of fantasy booking scenarios and fun. But I I mentioned I'd like to see dolph Sigler leave WWE just so I never have to listen to his theme song again beyond that. I mean, look there's a lot of misuse talent. In WWE that I think would be better off elsewhere. But it's easier said than done, maybe becomes more realistic. If all the league gets off the ground for some of them because they have a better landing spot than they would than they would have before. But until I mean, I I mean, we'd be here all day weightage, we could rearrange the business. But what are we often get out to do? Doing. So in the end. I I wanna see a lot of wrestlers reshuffled because it would it would fresh things up, and I talked about that earlier with AWS if wrestlers are with AWS a couple years. I mean, it's not like there's just one obvious person. I mean would Kevin Owens and AWB. Great. Absolutely. Would Trevor Lee in our wage be on my wishlist. Yeah. I think Trevor Lee would have been the best signing that are which could have done. I would love to see him in that context. But Trevor Lee and in an XT Kevin Owens being getting getting some freedom on raw smackdown and a good program. That's too. I just wanna see talented wrestlers featured. There's no doubt that there's wrestlers on both rosters who would benefit from or all rosters. I guess from from moving around. It is more of a two hour discussion than it is a one off quick question. But. Kushida if he goes to WWE, how do you see him being utilized? I don't see him being a a main roster star on really I mean, I think they'll take care of monastic St. because they're good at that. Yep. Beyond that it maybe doesn't leave. Maybe it just depends what they're looking for out of annexed these days, if it really is going to be that third random, and there's there's clearly some talented people that are more than main roster ready that they're keeping behind the next to you right now that that it should have jumped ahead of some of the people. They are calling up that we keep seeing that same damn video over and over. So I I mean, I guess I kind of look forward to a fresh start. I was late to the party with Kushida just kind of came beyond or before my before I kind of dived in new Japan pro wrestling. And so I don't as much as I like the back to the future movies. I really don't have any affinity for character who still like living on some weird back to the future fantasy. I I don't understand it. I don't get it. And I hope that stays behind. Yeah. All right. And then I never wanna see many sheet again, Todd Morton, you're so wrong. I what was he was. He not looking at the screen when many Kushida up here that was the most horrifying thing I've ever seen. I know. I know I I'm still even if I see Joe on Twitter. I just have to look away if there's a screen shot or. Yeah. Kenya? Mega. I mean. Yeah. I mean, the kid who might get situated his question summarizes various options, it can he's not a guy who needs to work or desires to work a fulltime every weekend schedule. I think he's going to be fine. Like a number of Awa guys are looking at this as a waiting period before things get get busier and more intense. So I could see him. I mean, my aunt is he ends up working for Awa new Japan. But obviously a lot of stuff is getting sorted out. Right now. Because our way to new fan of the show coming up wrestlemania weekend. And they gotta get past that, and then kind of figure things from there. Tonight's bargaining chip. It were only lead to have a new Japan is hesitant to do business with them. But Kenny is willing to draw that line in the sand and say, well, hey, if you if you want me, this is where I'm going to be I'm happy to split time. I'm happy to do both a, but I'm not willing to do that for with you and ring of honor. That's I mean, it you gotta be careful, obviously 'cause new Japan could easily just if he really wants to stay. They could easily be like they can easily. Call us block. No sorry. I learned not to believe much about what set about Kenny omega. Anyway. And I'm is leading this one play out because this guys had a contract. But then it magically was going to expire WWE was interested. But then he still had the contra I there's just been so much emission formation in my mind. Kenny omega that's gone out there that I just sit back and let it play out now. Yeah. I I'm I'm in the same boat when it comes to Kenny. I'm a little skeptical of some of the information that gets out, and and it's sort of. Let's wait. Let's wait and watch it play out smart for him. You know, I I'm not I'm not critical. I'm just saying in the chairman I'm in with him. Yes. There you go. There you go. Art Jason anything else you want to wrap up with. Oh, man. I think we covered a lot of ground. I'm trying to think of anything we really missed out on. But good questions from people today, even the one, but you know, moving people around just we'd be here for eternity. And I I don't think we would ever be able to speak again, if we get the proper amount of time to that. But I'll just just to give that person one. I'll say I'd love to see some Joe in new Japan. I think that would be really fun. That's a good call. Yeah. That's a good call acad- like to see some Ocho and Awa too. And I don't even know what AWS going to be whatever. But I'm happy. But the thing is I'm happy. Joe and WWE too. That's the thing is I don't I don't think he's I think he got a good push last year. And I think you'll probably get another good push at some point. And he's in the mix. And my biggest disappointment is. I just want to see him have a run with with the university of WB title at some point. I want him to be I'm not I'm not like for gifting golden watches, two wrestlers. But I think of all of his peers in the tracker could be had in the late started got in WWE, and the fact that I think it would be a good, title rain. Good for business and good for his good for his drawing. Power in good for whoever beat him alternately for all those reasons and more. I I'd like to see him have a Ron at some point with the WWE title and have that on his resume. I think he deserves to be in that class. I again, I I push back against the idea that everybody who's been around for fifteen years you get a world title run. But I think Joe is passes the threshold where where where I'm willing to say, I I think he's someone who makes sense for business, and I just hope. Works out that he gets that. I I agree. And I would also like to question. What happens in Todd Morton's world? Were that wasn't horrify. Oh, I know. Yeah. Well, I you can take it up with Todd on Twitter.
